Bad app. This app is terrible you have to pay to do everything in the pictures it says you can look up birds and their recent sighting. Unless you pay you can’t do it. It’s almost impossible to find the right bird, there is just a long list of birds. I strongly recommend not getting this app

Pretty cool app. I see a mockingbird, I find the matching bird in the app and play it. So far mockingbirds react more than any other birds I have tried. Geese just ignore it, so do crows. Cool app none-the-less!

Pretty great!. Using this app in preparation for a birding trip to Belize, and it is proving very useful. I would like more pictures, but the calls and songs are very good and diverse.

Great. Great overall but would like to see: -sort/ search by location and or habitat (e.g. list all Eastern African birds) -fix location info and call glitch; they are too close and clicking one over the other is tricky -more sea birds -and a few more birds that I expected (flamingo, kukaburra, loon, morning dove, to name a few)

Nasty. It deserves zero!. Do not buy nor download this app! There are no sound when you tap the arrows to hear the birds. It takes up space on your mobile. Pure savory!

Birds don’t match. Lots of birds don’t match when opening the name of a bird. App closes half the time. Nice app if it worked.

Just one ad after another. Because of the way it is organized and the barrage of ads this app is completely unusable. There isn't even a way to search for a particular type of bird (Hawks or Ibis for example). Deleted.

Nice app. It has helped me to identify the common backyard birds. It’s also delightful to listen at bird songs from other countries.

Four stars ❄️. This is a very good app. But I rated it four stars because it said that the app was free I got some of the rare birds that I had never seen before but I could not listen to some of the most common birds like the welcome robin

No download. I paid for the upgrade but no bird sounds will download.

Free version just one big advertisement. Although the full version looks pretty good, I'm a little miffed about the complete lack of functionality in the free version. Bird lists are unorganized, searches allow you to look at birds but not listen to them, "around me" shows icons, but you can't explore in more detail. All actions ask you to purchase the full version. I'd rather have a fully functional trial version!

DO NOT BUY. They do have some bird calls but if you want it find a specific bird. Good luck 😹 so for money it’s not worth it ITS A SCAMMMMMM

Disappointed. Very difficult to search for birds. All listed in alphabetical order and search does not work with partial name like "humming bird". Did like the sound files when l could find a bird and sightings near me was interesting but guess you cannot add your own sighting. Too expensive for so little functionality.

Good reference but not for US birds. The app has detailed information about many birds and the recorded calls are clear and distinct for the most part. VERY DISAPPOINTED that of all the birds shown in this app, very few reside or migrate through the us. NOT particularly helpful for US bird watching.

Disappointing must be wifi or cell connected. There are no actual bird calls/songs that are downloaded and you must be connected to the internet to hear these calls - even the paid version. So this app is essentially useless if you want to use it in the field. Save your money and get ibird pro.

What happened?. I used to love this app and used it almost daily. Now it's completely unusable. I can't go more than 1 minute of use without ads blocking out the calls and taking over my phone. You have to exit the ad, reopen the app and start again and half the time this freezes the phone or app. So frustrating. A once great app destroyed by ads.

Highly recommend. Great app. Very cool and I'm impressed, However.. There needs to be a repeat option. Also, the location/info and call/song buttons are too close together.

Unworkable. Paid 8.99 for this app and it will not play a single sound - say ls ERROR DOWNLOAD FAILED - total rip-off do not purchase

Worst app ever. This app does not have the blue jay!!!! The blue jay is my fave rat bird and you have to like down load the birds and most of them are locked so they make you half to buy them and my dads phone is really slow cause of that app and I wish I could give it no rating but it make you put one star or more DO NOT DOWN LOAD THIS APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confusing. I was just going to use this app it’s cool but I don’t know how to use it and how to hear the sound

Bird caller. I love this app. These are recordings from other bird enthusiasts. I use it to call the birds to the yard. Some of the recordings are not good and it’s time consuming to scroll through to find the one you want. Would like to see some improvements on the search features. Can you make the recordings moveable? If you can make them so I can scroll my favorite calls to the top of songs it would be nice. If you don’t know the species of birds, it’s very challenging to use at times.

Perfect birder’s companion.. I love this app and you can use it in places that don’t have wifi as long you downloaded the call before you go there. I’d download all the calls so I can be prepared.

Don't waste your time.. Nothing but adds. Sometimes it's impossible to close the add screen unless you download whatever it is they're advertising or you close the app, very annoying. Bird calls aren't loud enough, there's more background noise than the actual bird call.

Painful. App is painful. Birds are not categorized by alphabet, classification or even region smaller than your country. So to find a bird on my feeder I have to start scrolling through 791 birds that are not organized at all!! What a pain! 1/3 of the way down the list you find a $6.99 fee to unlock the rest.

Ads and Crashes. When you touch anywhere on the app, one of two things happen; either an ad pops up, or the app crashes. Tried repeatedly to get it to work, but only frustration and ads and crashes. After several minutes I realized I had still not heard ANY BIRD SONGS. Only seen ads and then it crashed. Ads and crashes. Ads and crashes. Ads and crashes. Ads and crashes.

Good but needs work. This is a great app. But it needs to have a way to show only those bird songs and calls that have been saved in addition to the great way it shows the song library. Also group calls saved by species. Helped me a non bird watcher id birds I hear. Particularly birds that don't come to feeder. It is well worth the cost, just hope requested improvements are not too long in coming. I bought this app and have no adds. Buy it if you want to recognize your birds.

Unlock more bird sounds. Could you find a way to unlock a few more bird sounds please?

Love this app and so does my cat. I like this app because I was curious about what sounds birds me. I have enjoyed it. After reading the other reviews I don't know why they don't like this app. They must have very high technological demands. I guess I just wanted to hear some bird songs with birds.

Love the bird calls. I live the bird calls that come with many of the birds, though I wish they all, or more, had them. Have sometimes had trouble downloading the calls too. The bird selection is awesome though and worth the money for such variety.

Worst App Ever. I would love to love this app however it does crash each and every time you attempt to download the bird sounds. Learned a lesson read all the reviews before you jump to download. Steer clear of this one for a while until the owner does something with it for the $6.95 price.

Great and massive compendium of calls but. Needs much work on organization and really needs user input with recognition. Sure you can quickly find what THAT bird's song is BUT how bout hearing a song to identify the bird making it? Impossible! So let's have the app access the microphone and allow me to chirp whistle trill the call into the app's db and recognize and identify the song maker? With reasonable accuracy, THAT would make this a great App.

Does not work. The bird calls need to be downloaded. Whenever I try to download a call, it says download error, please try again. It has never worked. It’s a waste of time.

I called cardinals, jays and more. I've used this app via call under scarlet tanager, robin, cardinal and blue jay and they answer and come near to drink or eat definitely worth downloading.

Is OK....could easily be better. Grouping of birds could be better when searching for a un-known bird. Some tracks have terrible background or feedback noise in them. An option for looping a bird sound.....?

Ads everywhere!!. I would have rated this app a 4 or 5, but the ads are incredibly obnoxious. You have your sound turned all the way up to listen to the pretty birdcalls, but then the ads show up full-screen, and play blaring music and you can't even click the ads to close, because the x's are too small. Uninstalling...

Don't call us, we won't call you. I loved the previous version, but the ads on this version come blaring out at you and fill the whole screen. Not only can you not hear the call, you can't use the app. The ads get so big the button is off screen or the very edge and you literally have to double tap the iPhone 5S button, so you can shut the app down and restart it.

Nice app. It really helps you understand what the bird is where it would be and what it sounds like it really helps

How can I unlock it again. How can I retrieve my activation ? I have purchased this app and then removed it now I re installed it again!? Is there away to use it again with all the unlocked features?? Plz help

Pretty good with quirks. The sound recordings are mostly very good. I have played a few through an amplified speaker to attract a bird. It works, but sometimes annoys them so don’t do it often. Very thorough descriptions but only one photo for each bird. That’s OK. It’s not a tool for identifying. You have to ID, or make an educated guess at a bird you see. Then find it on the app and listen. The “find birds near me” feature worked for 2 years, then suddenly stopped last month. I can’t find out why or how to reinstate it. I emailed the developer and got no response. The description says there is a way to subscribe and turn on that feature (which I did when I got the app). But you “can’t get there from here”. The instructions take me to no-wheres-ville.

Waste of time. I asked for United States birds and got Europe as well, resulting in too many to scroll through.

A big come-on. This app has some bird sounds, but they are in other regions. Most all of the common local birds are locked out, so I would have to buy and download each one. National Geographic has a much better free app that shows most worldwide and local birds AND has their sounds.

Very hard to use. Hard to find any particular bird to try to recognize something I see or hear to figure out what it is. Too many adds and no classifications to try to find a bird in our area. Wish I could find an app like the one bird book I see with the added bonus of hearing what it sounds like. There are better apps out there than this one.

Decent free version of app. I only used the free version of this app and though it was good but not great. Like all free apps i have used it has some advertisements. One thing I think needs worked on is being able to play the calls without internet connection. Everything else works without it except that. Also with the free version there are a lot of limits to what you can and can't do but after all that is why it is the free version. I think it could be a decent buy for anybody that is into birding.

Not worth the money. First things bird app should have is a listing by the territory you’re in. Then it should list by groups of similar type birds so you can compare them when trying to identify them. Very disappointed. After buying the app, there art no settings to allow any form of listing or sorting. Also, I don’t want to download the sound. If I’m in an area with no internet, I want to press a button and hear the call immediately.

bird calls. Definitely not as good as it represents itself, mis-named birds, images include caged birds, feral pigeon standing on roadside kerb named as a dove, I wanted the Australian birds, got wild turkey (as in North American) and hundreds of other non Oz birds. Not categorised well. In general, good if you don't know much about birds.

Crashes. Last update still crashes on launch on iPod touch 4

Not off to a good start. Just downloaded this app. On the first try could not find the bird I was looking for. Could use an upgrade that will spell check during search. Is the "whippoorwill" bird in this app? If so where is it? Also add categories and countries -- that would help a lot!

Waste of time. Downloaded this to look at different bird calls. When you first open the app, it asks you to select which country - I selected mine, it then shows you a 30 second video ad (which you can't skip) for a completely unrelated app. Once you're past giving them money for the 30 second ad, 80% of the bird calls are "locked" and require an in app purchase. Absolute waste of my time.

Terrible!. Don't waste your time downloading this crappy app! It is loaded with obnoxious and unwanted ads of women wanting to chat. Most of the birds are locked, and it will cost you another eight dollars to unlock them. The few that I did manage to try are inaccurate. The app is massive, 67 MB, and that doesn't include any birdcalls. You have to download any bird calls that you'd like to hear, so make sure you have an Internet connection. The app shows only 52 bird species in my country, Canada, and doesn't include common species such as Cardinals, Blue Jays, Sparrows, etc., which are in abundance in Canada. Give it one star, deserves zero stars.

Very simple app let down by overwhelming advertising. A simple app with no search feature that eventually gets taken over by ads rendering it useless.

Terrible. Impossible to use with intrusive ads. Useless for Canada as only 56 birds listed. Does not even have common ones. GUI could be ok, but it's like developer stopped working on it half way through with no standard catalogue.

Worse than useless. Nothing is alphabetical, so good luck finding the bird you're looking for. Try searching and it returns a blank page. Lots of ads, both banner and audio playing video - not what you want if you're sitting near a bunch of birds.

FABULOUS!!!. Absolutely LOVE this app!! I have many different bird apps but this is by far my favourite. It has everything you need to identify & learn about birds from every corner of the world. I highly recommend this app :)

Very disappointing!. If it were just for the bird calls, I enjoy them very much, however I cannot get the nice big pictures of birds as shown in the previews. All I get are very tiny and pixelated thumbnail size images. Such a waste of $9.99! Makes me so angry... 😤

Bad in more ways than one. One intrusive ad after another, PLUS it crashes every time I try to download a bird call. What's the use of keeping it? Y'all have had plenty of time to improve it.

Ok. Lots of species but not well filtered or searchable. Ads expected but surprisingly annoying when they pop up loud an obnoxiously out of nowhere.

Ridiculous. Only a minor amount of birds which few are even in this country. You have to pay to download bird calls of most birds.

Scandalous ripoff. I cannot believe this is allowed to call itself a free app. It is an app for bird calls in which you have to pay to unlock the bird calls. I'm more angry with the App Store for allowing it than I am with the hucksters hawking it.

Forget it. First bird I look up, I get a 20 second COMMERCIAL movie with annoying music, then NO BIRD without paying $6.99. Based on other poor reviews as well... Herd to use, etc ., I said NO

Bird Calls ok, but.... Review update, this app no longer allows you to download new calls. I paid for this app. Could use a few new features. Need to save a bird to favorites. The ability to loop a call. Better search feature. How to submit a sighting. This app should be able to do these simple functions for $6.99.

App crashes on iPhone 6. When I try to download a bird sound this app will crash 100% of the time.

Not very happy!. This is my first app review ever, and that's how dis-satisfied I am with this app. They have no birds around me - and you have to pay for everything! It's ridiculous!

Bird calls...call ads!!!!!!. Too many ads to mess with this app. Most of the calls you want to hear are billable.

Birds Songs. Close to Nature : Pure Voice always Nice.

Needs Improvement. App crashes unexpectedly, doesn't default to current location, and can't ID by bird sounds. Free version isn't worth installing and neither is the paid version. Developer needs to rethink the purpose of the app.

Too Many Ads. Seemingly nice app, but lots of ads, commercials, and offers. You need to download the bird sounds individually to play them. There are better options.

Eddie. Real cool for where I live in Florida, I get birds to come to my window when I play it loud on my stereo, ii even got regular visits from an owl at dusk .
