New Age. Easily to use, timely, and delivered on time, regardless of weather or the carrier missing us. Helps cut costs and keeps newspapers alive with great writers / investigators. Well done!

The only way to read the paper. Works well. Looks like the paper . . . paper. And you don’t need to deal with all the paper.

Timely news. Since I don’t get paper delivery in my area, I am able to read paper same day it comes out. I very much enjoy it.

Works like a dream. Love how intuitive and easy this app works. Wish all apps were this smooth and user friendly.

Totally disgusted!. We have been subscribing to the Register for years and although we pay for eEdition we cannot get it. I have placed 4 calls this morning and still useless!! When I was told to reinstall my app the only way I could continue is to get the Register for 6 months for .99! What???? We already get the paper?? In all our years of having problems with the Register this is the worst! We give up!!!

DSM Register E Version. Great to navigate. Never thought I would like the E-version. I like it very much! Keep up the good work! Jane Andrew

DM Register print edition on line. The very first reason I subscribe is the broad content and excellent journalism. I also find the USA bonus edition, which we can only get online well worth more than what I’ve been charged for my subscription. As for the ap, while I prefer the actual paper, I am a very early riser and much of the time the paper has not yet been delivered. The ap or the paper is the only way I start the day.

Convenience. Love having the Register at my fingertips without walking outside in the cold or rain to pick up the paper. Good info offered. Really like the sporting events TV information.

Des Moines Register. The biases of the editorial staff frequently show. I am looking for less bias and more fact without the liberal lens of the reporters and editors. I know proof reading of content and grammar/punctuation/spelling has to be a real challenge but some of the errors I see would have been picked up with the simplistic of review tools. I continue to subscribe because it is the main statewide news source that I can consume on my schedule. I do miss the paper copy but realize it isn’t practical or time sensitive.

Finally figuring out how to navigate, but love it.. I would still prefer a Sunday Delivered Register in Coralville, but this is a fine second option.

Works well!. This app is like reading the print newspaper, only much less expensive!

Excellent newspaper!. I love being able to read my paper on a daily basis. And the best part is not having to worry about digging out the actual paper from the snow piles in the winter.

Love the Des Moines Register. We are Iowans who moved to northern Minnesota three years ago and thanks to the Register we can stay current with what’s happening in our home state. The paper does a great job of covering news for the entire state.

Not any particular item - the entire paper. The screens go in and out making it very difficult to read an article satisfactorily. Also jump around a lot. What causes this? It is very frustrating!

Easy access. The Register app provides easy access to the newspaper, the archives, and breaking news.

Access. I read the Register every day on line & now an E-mail /password is required. I’ve paid for digital subscription I can’t access.

Simple. This app doesn’t offer much, but it’s easy to navigate if you just want the experience of reading the actual paper version online. Beyond that, i don’t try anymore. Life is too short.

Better than the paper paper. As a Des Moines Register paperboy over 50 years ago I dreamed of different ways of delivering the paper, especially during the cold, dark, winter mornings. One idea was a pneumatic tube to each house and the other was an air powered gun that would launch the papers to the house from a passing car. I never imagined an e-paper. This is even better!

Des Moines Register. App works well except when enlarging the page it often shifts into a half screen format which can’t be changed. It seems related to the arrows that turn the page and continues despite turning pages.

Great Newspaper, Greater access!. I subscribed to the DMR because I was disappointed in the diminishing product delivery of the SiouxCity paper. The app delivers the DMR in easy to access easy to read segments, navigation is simple. To my great surprise the whole group of Relatednewspapers comes with Hello Ames and Iowa City.

Early Edition - Old News. The digital edition I receive is a very early edition and most often contains news I have already read - either on your App or from another source. Sports news is especially disappointing - it’s really old news by the time I read it here. Can this be fixed?

Des Moines Register Print. We enjoy being able to see the print edition. Easy to navigate! I recommend.

Great way to read the register. I would give the app 5 stars except that when I click on some articles the text is messed up in some spots.

DSMREG App is perfect!. With this app one can review the entire paper and choose your own articles of interest. Once set up on the phone it is summoned in seconds without re-entering the usual suspects. Can review prior editions in their entirety and forward items of mutual interest to friends. May be the salvation of the whole rag! Bob Shreck

Print edition not working. Ever since last update, print edition of Register does not open. It has been this way for five days. Resetting iPhone doesn’t clear it or make it open. Can only read Register using online format and I’d prefer print edition. Where is it?

Approves. I like getting news from what I consider a legitimate news source. The app is fairly smooth and fast.

So convenient!. I really like using the Des Moines Register app on my IPad. With one tap it allows me to pull up the paper every morning, and since my eyesight is fading with age, I can enlarge the page I am reading so easily. I would not read the paper any other way!

Great Alternative. I prefer the paper version, but due to it no longer being delivered to my door in my small town (now PO Box only), digital is an excellent and much more affordable option...

Morning coffee and the Des Moines Register. I love this app and have had it for several years now. I cant get the paper edition on the far western side of the state so this app allows me to read up on Iowa events and stay informed. I look forward to my morning coffee and the Des Moines Register.

Easy to navigate the paper. Had cancelled my subscription several years ago because just hated trying to navigate the old app. This is a refreshing experience. Very user friendly so far. Thanks!!

Thank you. Be well, do good work, and keep in touch. I tried to cancel my Arizona Republic subscription and lost yours a while back. I have to cancel my Az Republic subscription but don’t want to lose the Register. Help.

Easy. Enjoy reading the news this way and it’s current all day

TV Grid is needed and should be returned. Not having the TV Grid at a glance is problematic and time consuming to have to go back to Sunday edition. Programming changes may not be available in Sunday addition if scheduling is changed. Please return daily TV Grid.

Great app. This is a great app. It comes in handy if the newspaper is late and if you want to go back and look for an article in an old edition. To get five stars, consider to give the option to remember login info (at least user name)

Easy To Use. Personally, I think it’s better to use than the real paper because it’s cleaner and clearer and you can adjust the font size with your fingers. I love holding a book and reading a book, but reading the register apon the iPad is the best for me. When you have to step away, and come back, it’s ready for you to continue.

DM Register. Even when we’re out of town, we can continue to read our favorite paper, and when we’re back home, I’m able to cut out articles and pass them on to others

Good to read what’s happening. We moved from Iowa 3 years ago, so it’s good to keep up to date as to w is going on.

Great online paper. I travel, so getting the print edition online keeps me informed and reads like the paper edition. Wouldn’t be without it.

Easy to read. I'm enjoying the online edition of the Des Moines Register. Changing the font size is easy; reading off to the right, so that you don't need to flip pages to continue the article; no paper to try to hold and fold; no waiting for the paperboy; no looking through the trash for yesterday's paper; and reading the paper when you're away from home. Only glitch is that there are days when the comics will not focus.

More local coverage. Need more local content. Seems that it takes 5-10 minutes to get through most of the front and metro sections. So much going on in this area but very little reporting. Take the Dam to DSM run for instance. Several thousand runners but very little coverage. Take a look at how the Duluth News and Tribune covers their big run, Grandma’s Marathon…..several days of coverage about the run and the people in it and then a huge section after the run.

Loving it!. I am a long time reader of the Des Moines Register. Having it digital allows me to take it with me wherever I go. No need to stop and start delivery or papers piling up at the front door. My wife and I can pick our own highlights for notifications and read them as they come in. So. very flexible and personalized.

DM Register Print App ROCKS. I wake up, grab my iPad and open the newspaper. I do not need to get outside the house. I haven’t even left my warm and cozy bed yet. I do have it easy! The extra’s are great too.

Great On-Line Resource. I have a paper subscription and this came with it. I read the on-line version on my iPad, while my wife reads the paper copy. It’s especially handy when we travel. Then during the day, I check the updated electronic version.

Reliable delivery!. Better than having to rely on a revolving door of paperboys...2 years of news delivered, without a hitch!

Makes reading easier!. It is so much easier to read newspaper with app!

Great Newspaper. I start every single day with the DM Register. It is a reliable and user friendly app. And of course the DM Register itself is a reliable and quality newspaper.

Easy. This app is very easy to use and gives the reader many options for reading the paper. I use it almost every day. S&k

DSM register. While I sometimes miss having the real paper.....this ePrint is so much easier to use...whenever and wherever I am! I can read the paper, and I do, all the time. I do miss some of the advertising that comes with the paper, but I usual buy the big paper on thanksgiving, etc. so, I have you always! Thank you

Love the eEdition!. It might be old school, but i do love the fact that the eEdition looks just like the paper. Nice work Register! Now if we could only work on your politics 😉…

New App. The new Gannett app is much improved. Takes a awhile to get the hang to learn but worth it. I like the full page view and two finger tap to read the text of a story.

Don't bother. Buggy (only seeing half of the front page and won't let me get digital version of article). Maybe it's just today's paper but this isn't working.

Register is thin. I make a 6 minute soft boiled egg for breakfast every morning, and read the paper front to back while I wait. I have enough time to make coffee too.

Works Great. The Register reading app works very well and is easy to use.

Des Moines Register. The app continues to evolve into a nice feature to have. It is user friendly and quite rich in content.

Well done. Easy to navigate. Appreciate local and national reporting. Thank you.

Bummer. Since most recent update app freezes will not open . No reboot reinstall do not work!

Could be improved. A great way to read the paper! Works well. But do we have to keep re-entering our email and password? Why can't the app remember those?

Rendering & download. Letter spacing is often messed up. Occasionally links to other pages where articles continent are incorrect or stop after one link even when article runs three or more pages. Today's edition download started with page A5 not A1 with no option to reload the edition.

Sunday paper delivery. I get the digital of the paper weekdays and print Sunday addition. No paper this week. 3 Stars for delivery service.

DSM Register. Timely and easy to use

Good coverage, need a bit more depth.. To much bias in many articles

Love reading the paper without wasting paper!. Please add spellcheck and grammar check

Sports. Do a better job of informing when and where you can find the games of the big four schools Iowa,Iowa State, Drake and UNI. Both men and women

Terrible App & Customer Service. The app crashes when I tap on specific articles and when I attempt to enlarge the print. It doesn’t happen every time, but it happens enough times to force me to abandon reading the newspaper using the app. I complained to the newspaper about it but all I got was an email directing me to submit additional personal information which did not appear to me to be necessary for them to fix the bug in the app that was causing the problems;

Reading the Register on my iPad. I really enjoy reading the Des Moines register online. It is very convenient to download the paper to my iPad and read it while my wife drives.

Too clunky I might as well read the print version. Usually I give fair to excellent ratings but not in this case. The NY Times has a much better app for cruising and reading on my pad, phone or desktop. This is too clunky, poor response, the ads are way too intrusive (even more intrusive than in the actual hard copy). As has been pointed out before it's basically a semi indexed PDF of the printed paper I get each morning except that it is harder to read in this application. I will be interested to see if they decide to actually create a smoother app as the NYT has done. I hope so.

DSM app. One of the better newspaper apps.

Des Moines register print. Very pleasantly surprised! Easy to navigation and print quality is excellent!

Terrible App. I continue to get error downloading edition database messages. It has been doing this off and on for the past few months. I deleted the app and reinstalled it just to get the same message. I’m getting tired of paying for a digital subscription I can’t use half the time.

Inconsistent User interface is a pain. Sometimes when you tap it takes you to the article, other times it zooms out. When you scroll up too far/fast it takes you out of the article. When you zoom in on a whole page it actually zooms in, but if you have an article open it only increases the text size and jumps all over. Comics don’t load a high resolution image so they look blurry/blocky. Can’t find a way to view images in articles full screen either.

This is a great app. I think the other reviewers are reviewing the wrong app. This one doesn't jump around. It just shows you each page of the paper. Touch an article and it brings it up for you. Much better than the other app. Thanks.

App looks just like newspaper. Works perfect

The Register. I read the news every morning from this app. It flows nicely.

Iowa news. I like keeping up with news from Iowa. The DMR is a good source for that. Denny, Green Valley, AZ

DMR. Like format and ease of use

WHY???. Soooooo much wasted potential!can not tell if it is ignorance, laziness or incompetence. This app just keeps getting worse. Is it really the best that Gannett can do? Scary if it is. I want so much to like this app, but in all the years they have had it, it has never become a quality app. Wish I could say something good about it.

Des Moines Register app. The Print Edition is the next best thing to reading the actual paper. Easy to follow; easy to navigate. Great way to start the day.

DSM Register. I enjoy the Iowa Connection!

Headlines early.. Great app. Updates fast.

Review. The App is user friendly and easy to navigate.

The screen hops all over the place.... I have given up on this app which is a shame because I want to support print journalism. Why, oh why, does the screen hop all over the place. It’s impossible to scroll down because it hops all over before I can read the articles. Do you load different parts of the story at once or are they delayed? Hop, hop, hop.

Digital Register. Works fine on iPhone or iPad! Support your statewide and community News. Keeps me up on sports in Iowa.

OK first effort. This is a straight .pdf version of the paper. Given the large format of the paper it can be difficult to navigate. Hopefully Gannett will invest in an app more like the NY Times and Wall Street Journal.

60 year reader of DM Register print. Can not get this app to move from one or two pages. It’s also so small, when you pinch it larger, it won’t move. I’m about to give up on the Register, from missed deliveries to $70 subscription price. I hope it’s not going down the same route as CNN!

Informative. A myriad of topics available for review and comprehensive enough to get sufficient information.

DSM Register on Line. App works well!

Great app. I enjoy using this app.

Sky Farmer. Very good app and easy to navigate

Easy to use interface. Overall a nice, readable experience

Easy To Use. Keeping up with Iowa news from California.

Give it a chance. Once you get used to the format, and the different functions, it actually works quite well. Just give it time, and learn how ALL of the different functions work, and you will likely love it just like I do. I mean seriously... For $10/month (about 33 cents/issue), you can't really complain. I actually prefer the print edition app over the app for iPad. Give it a chance.

Becky. We travel and I enjoy keeping up on things in Iowa.

Des Moines Register app. Easy to read and easy to use.

Des Moines Register app. Easy to use, which defines a good app!!

Log out. I like to log out of the app, every day, after reading the paper. The look out feature isn’t working.

Easy to Use. DM Register App is user friendly - it rocks!!

Bummer. Why do I have to reenter my email and password over and over? And then, to get the current day's paper I had to delete and reinstall the app! I know developers can do this correctly. It feels like I'm not supposed to read my subscription digitally.

Get Apple ID subscriptions working. I canceled my subscription, but I’ll renew it if you ever get Apple ID subscriptions working reliably. I like the print edition.

Des Moines register. Enjoy reading the digital edition-especially the high school and college sports articles!

Great improvements. I have always liked this app because I like to read in a traditional newspaper format, but I was frustrated by it's slow responsiveness and frequent crashes. Love the new changes! It is faster, hasn't crashed at all, and is much more responsive to page changes. Makes reading the morning paper much easier and more enjoyable.
