Great comics and affordable! Deathly slow rendering. I love all the series available to read, but the rendering time when opening the app reaches unholy amounts of wait time. I think whatever is processing/running leading up to the daily recommended reading/news/event pop-up is getting stuck in something, like a recursive loop or the like. It’s often I find that the app won’t start working as expected until that pop-up comes up and can be cleared. Until then, the app won’t refresh when you swipe down, you can’t read any chapters, and no other user data can be called. It could be a coincidence that that’s what has to happen before I can do any reading, but it seems to be the trend. I think using the carousel at the top of the app to hold announcements would work best until the wait time issue is fixed. Sometimes I’ve just closed the app and reopened it until I can get that pop up. It’s very annoying but might have to use desktop until the issue is fixed. Waiting for more than 5 minutes for data to be called should be illegal /s

great idea. This app is a great way to support artists at a relatively affordable price which I’m grateful for (other apps like LezhinComics charge $30 for just one series). I wish there were more ways to get coins other than watching ads and referring friends. I know some other apps have more intricate ad rewards (like if you download x app and reach a certain level you get, say, 800 coins to buy comics with etc) and I’m hoping one day they might do that for us one day :) The comics I’ve read are high quality and they have a wide variety to choose from, and actually there’s a LOT of free ones, or ones that have the first few episodes for free so you can decide whether you want to jump into purchasing it or not. Anyways, the app works great functionally BUT I had one huge problem... The app keeps crashing :( Sometimes I’ll have the app opened for five minutes or less and it will crash, sometimes it won’t crash for 30 minutes straight but inevitably every time I have used the app it has crashed ;_; if not for that I would’ve given more stars but unfortunately it’s really damaging my enjoyment of the app because of its frequency....Hopefully this is something that can be fixed so I can change my review sooner rather than later and more people can properly enjoy everything tapas has to offer!!

Tapas - Ink & Ads. First, generally Tapas is a super great comic with a lot of great variety and content. They also provide many helped up ways to read and get ink (I.e. through reading challenges and wait for free). However, with the most recent update the watch ads for ink feature was taken off and replaced with unlock 3 episodes a day by watching 1 ad each. While, I do appreciate this was at least replaced with another method, it is in my opinion is not as accessibly and supportive to readers and authors than the watch ads for ink. Prior to this change you would need to watch 30 ads (sometimes even a bit more) to get enough ink to read an episode, BUT the 30 ad limit would refresh every hour which meant you could, if you wanted, watch more ads to unlock MORE chapters. Additionally, after completing a reading challenge, if you did not have enough (most comics don’t usually cost exactly 300) than you could watch ads to get enough ink. Furthermore, the ink you’d get could be used for chapters to support the creators and/or donated (willingly) to support creators. Also, despite updating the app (automatically then manually) I have not received the option to watch ads to unlock a chapter but also do not have the watch ads for ink option either.

It’s ok. I’m a WEBTOON user so it definitely took some time to get used to this platform. I for one like the books on this app. I think the books on this app suits my taste a lot more than WEBTOONs. I always thought I could not get used to and refused to read books on a daily pass or on here WUF books. But I guess when you are really interested in a book you make do and accept the fact bc I refuse to spend money on ink in this app. Now what I don’t like is how much ink you need to purchase a chapter. Most chapters with tap on are 300 ink and when you use your once a week fortune cookie there’s a chance you get 250 which for most do not open a chapter you want to read. Other than that there’s no real way to earn free ink on this app besides the survey which are pretty much useless for earnings. I don’t mind the WUF episodes bc obviously I like the stories I am reading and I can wait but I honestly think a regular weekly update is a lot better than the WUF episodes only bc once you reach the minimum chapter limit you cannot access them until they become available. I am also not a fan of the WUF episodes going out of commission bc a story is on Hiatus. I think ppl should still be able to get a weekly or WUF episodes until the last episode airs. I find it unfair that ppl need to wait for the book to come out of hiatus for them to finish a season. I would rather wait for the chapters to build up so I can receive weekly updates for the chapters.

Updated but not updated???. Ah ok, it was updated, although now it looks like one of many comic reading apps, the categories and genres and contents on the day are easier to find and look better. Still that was all they did. They improved the app startup but everything else stayed exactly the same. The community is still the same. It's hard to find content there, everything looks sparse and poorly organized. Little diffusion, and that's the reason why it's easier for authors to grow on other platforms than on Tapas. The platform has its pros and cons for publishing indie content and I personally like it. But I still can't believe they updated the app and completely forgot about the community! People very little browse the community because most of the time they don't even know it's there. The same goes for the Spanish content. Tapas doesn't seem to give much relevance to Spanish headlines. And few consumers are aware that such content is translated. That is, it is not like other platforms in terms of different languages where it is given the same treatment. Here it seems that they only do it as a hobby. When the announcement of an update came out, I expected a better look for the community and not that everything, except the home page, will remain the same.

Swiper no Swiping!!. I love this app and recommend it to all of my friends. However, I have 2 major complaints that makes my enjoyment and time on the app lacking. 1- I usually use this app while lying in bed (usually laying on my tummy) with my phone at an angle so it’s still connected to my charger. Well more often than I’d like, my thumb will swipe not up and down to scroll through comics/novels but will be slanted or will accidentally swipe left or right. This can unlock new episodes if you have your settings set a specific way or take you back to a chapter you have already read. This is not the issue I’m upset about, just context to my problem. When you try to go back to the chapter you just left YOU END UP BACK AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE!!! It’s so frustrating to have accidentally swiped to a different chapter and than try to find where you left off. I would love for the Tapas Team to hopefully fix this issue so that I can continue to read in peace!! 2- It’s frustrating when a series goes on Hiatus and readers have no idea when to expect new chapters. Some authors and artists are good about informing their audiences on when they will be back but others don’t. Having a more definitive timeline on when an author/artist will return or more transparency with the audience would be nice. Especially if the reader has bought 40+ episodes.

Only One Problem to Fix. The UI is intuitive and visually comprehensive, and the comics I read are absolutely fantastic. However, I have one complaint: it’s really unfriendly to users who don’t make in-app purchases. Some comics are free all the way through, some you have to wait for episodes if you don’t want to pay, and then there are plain old paid comics. There is no indicator on a comic that determines whether or not it is paid (there is a symbol for “wait to read” but no others). For someone like me who can’t afford it, i hate getting 10 episodes in just to learn i’ll never be able to read the rest. I have absolutely nothing against paying for comics (artists need money too) but I do have something against an app that doesn’t allow you to search by free comics, or even see if a comic is free at all without reading it. I understand it’s to encourage users to spend money but that doesn’t mean it’s not a shortsighted design choice. If this were fixed, Tapas would deserve a five-star review without a doubt.

Freezing. Look, I adore Tapas. I love comics and books and this app has lots of them. The ink system in nice, since there are plenty of ways to earn free ink. Comments can be mean, but that isn’t the apps fault. What is the app’s fault is that it keeps freezing. I have an IPhone 6S, which is slightly older, but I’ve heard complaints from many users. The app freezes if I tap anywhere that isn’t a panel, and novels freeze at seemingly random points. I have to close the app, reload it, and then hope it takes longer than five seconds to freeze. I’ve had to do this both with lesser known comics and with the ones featured in advertisements. Even creators have this problem with their own work! I’ve started reading the comics on WEBTOON that I can, but most of them are tapas exclusive. Sometimes tapas says that I’ve read something, but doesn’t keep my bookmark. For example, I’m on page 32, but tapas freezes so I close the tab. I reload, and then it says I’ve read up to page 32, but when I click “continue” I’m back at page 15. If just the freezing problem was fixed, I would probably rate Taptastic five stars, but it’s just unusable right now.

Great content but constant glitches. The app freezes a lot, and has constant problems with glitches. Currently there is an issue with chapters loading with repeated frames. Most chapters are loading with the first frame repeated 3 times, and it's getting worse with some chapters having huge sections repeating multiple times, halfway through. Also the app is notorious for not providing the promised ink after reading the required number of episodes for a promotion. Finally, despite the fact that you can select your favorite genres for your profile, 90% of the comics feed is made up of series where the primary genre tag does not match my favorite genres. There is no way to filter OUT the genres you do not care for, so the feed is completely useless. The home page also does not allow you to exclude genres, so again you have to open each series to find out if it's one of the genres you don't like. Overall, I'm giving 3 stars because there is a lot of great content here, but 2 stars deducted for the terrible functionality and lack of user-friendly interface.

Love this app soooooo much. I have had this app for I don’t know maybe a month I download it on my tablet and I’ve had it for like a little less than a year but before I download it on my tablet I used to use their website I mean I like the website a lot but since I didn’t have the app on any device I t get ink to read certain stories but I have the app I have the ink and I can get the story’s and I love this app so much it’s got so many stories I love it I mean my personal favorite genre isBLAnd it’s like got a whole lot and I love it so much and like some of the best ways to get ink is to just download apps and play games to earn ink and you can also watch ads and you get fortune cookie said I’ll give you anywhere from like I want to see 100 to 1000 ink I think the prices are for ink are a little bit pricey if you want to buy with money I also think that the stories are just the teensiest bit pricey to feel like they could be a little bit cheaper and you can find so many comics for free so overall it’s a great app I totally recommend football comic lovers for a while I use web tune but I like this so much better I can find so much more for you but if you’re looking for a good comic app to download this will be it!!!!!!!!!

Please Read.... I’ve been using this app for a long time and it’s by far one of my favorites. There is a wide variety of comics and novels, some you have to pay for using ink, you can wait to read some for free, or you can read ones that are completely free to read. I love this, however, I have noticed that at least half of the comics that I was waiting to read for free have disappeared. I find this extremely frustrating because they were my favorites, and I have a hard time earning ink. The only way I can earn ink is by watching ads, but (this may just be my phone) I can only watch 10 out of the 30 ads per hour. If there is some sort of cap on how many “wait for free” comics you can read at a time, that was very poorly communicated if communicated at all. Other than those issues, I love this app. I would DEFINITELY recommend this app to anyone that is looking for an online comic app. I have no idea if others are having the same issue, but if there are please please please fix it. If the issue is addressed I will happily come back and give this app 5 stars. Thank you so much for your time!

Pay to read....?. I think the problem with these pay to read systems is that many, if not most people can’t afford to pay for the ink. There are ads people can watch to earn free ink, but it’s highly inefficient. One episode of a comic needs at least 300 ink to unlock, and you only earn 10 ink per ad. You would have to watch 30 ads (about 7-10 minutes) just for one episode. And when those people that can’t afford ink have no way of earning ink, they usually give up and move on. Not everyone can spend loads of money to read comics, and it’s easy to find other apps, such as Webtoon, that offer free comics. Some comics have a waiting system where you get a free episode every certain amount of time, but the number of these types of comics are becoming less and less. I would suggest more comics with the waiting system, that way people would be able to read without paying, have something to look forward to, and the authors/creators still get support from people who can afford to pay for episodes in advance. As long as people have something to look forward to, there will most likely be more viewers and therefore more support for the artist. When there is nothing to look forward to and nothing you can do, people have no choice but to move on. Tapas is still an amazing app that includes wonderful comics, so if you can afford to read, this is the app for you! If you can’t afford to pay, I suggest Webtoon instead, as only disappointment will follow.

Page Scrolling Buggy. Using the iPad version of app. Just forced me to update and I already hate it. It was near perfect before the update, but afterwards, if I scroll through the chapter, the top and bottom menu/next chapter banner and footer keep popping up. I think it’s too sensitive? I scroll/flick up and then occasionally sort of long tap on the screen to “catch” or slow down/stop my scroll, but apparently they see that as me tapping to open up the menu so that pops up. Constantly. I’m at my wits end because I have to be so careful about scrolling now just to read one single chapter… Please…PLEASE undo what you did to the tapping sensitivity for the update. 🥺 It used to be perfect. Otherwise, I really like the app. Like I said, it was perfect before update and I constantly bought ink to support artists and Tapas. The story selection is very nice and I appreciate you guys adding so much new content. I see a lot of people complain about crashing, but I have not had this problem. I wonder if it’s because I’m using the iOS iPad version.

Annoyances are Pushing Readers Away. Similar to other reviewers, I’m here to echo the sentiments of the overall user experience of Tapas going downhill. I have enjoyed a handful of really great stories, but since they’ve walked back a lot of the perks we once had, especially watching adds to earn ink, I’ve been reading elsewhere where possible. However I am so behind on some series I’m considering abandoning them completely. Watching an ad to open an episode has never been an option for anything I read, and Monday’s gift is great, but only allows me to read once a week (if I even get enough ink to unlock one episode of the several pay-only series I read, making for sloooow progress). To top it off, they’re pushing so many similar stories down readers throats with first-person I/My titles involving things like villainess/final boss/divorce or “I married”/ etc - which pop up every time I open the app and make me lose interest even faster. TLDR; It’s hard to read what I enjoy on Tapas due to the lack of accessibility, and for the comics I truly enjoy, Tapas has irritated me enough I’d rather read off app elsewhere & support the authors directly at this point. Two stars because there’s a handful of stories that make me stick around, but they’re really it.

stories are amazing, ink is not. the stories on tapas are some of the best of the comic apps, hands down. but the way you have to read these amazing comics is by purchasing ink. and it takes 300 ink to read an episode. now this isn’t awful if there was an easier way to get ink. i get that this is the way to support the amazing artists and writers who put out these stories, but people won’t be able to read these stories if you continue with the system as it is now. you should be able to get more than just ten ink from watching an ad. there could be some sort of subscription plan like manta does. the artists still get support from the readers but it doesn’t become completely inaccessible to people you can’t spend upwards of $100 so they can read multiple comics. i think more accessibility is more important because the whole reason these comics are made is to be read by people who love them, like me, but right now, you’re cutting ur audience severely by continuing to use the ink system as it is. the reason manta is so successful is because the subscription fee isn’t a lot at all and more people feel like the money spent on it is worth it. but i have spent over $500 on this app and at this point i can’t spend anymore. i really wish i could continue reading but it’s not financially feasible. i hope the amazing artists on here continue their amazing work. but tapas would be so much more amazing if it were accessible.

Great content, bad platform. When I first started using Tapas years ago, the platform had a ton of ways to earn free ink, which is the currency the platform used to unlock episodes. You could watch ads, participate in bonus events for new comics, and participate in monthly reading events. Now though, the ability to watch ads is gone and the bonus and reading events make it impossible to earn ink without spending ink. All this does is hurt creators and their readers. It would be one thing if it didn’t cost so much ink to unlock an episode, but I am not going to spend $20-30 just to read one comic. And that is even after using the temporary passes to open the first section of chapters, which then only stay open for 72 hours and you have to wait anywhere between 3 hours and 3 days to open the next one. I still use the platform because there is a lot of good free comics and novels to read on there, but I will not be continuing a lot of the comics I started that require ink to unlock, never mind starting a new comic that have locked chapters. Which is a real shame because a lot of those comics and novels are really good.

Not bad, but not the best. I love reading so many different stories. The authors work hard putting forth their ideas and the art is so lovely. I have no issues with the content, but the app itself irritates me to no end. The wait for free episodes are pretty much the only way I can read most of the titles, but now they have made them so they only unlock for 72 hours. I have wasted so many free episodes because I scroll to the next in line that’s locked only to find it’s the one I previously read. I don’t trust the “continue to #” option as I have had it unlock episodes way ahead of where I actually am, now I can’t even trust I’m unlocking the next episode anymore. The cost of ink is too much to bear purchasing regularly and although you do get free ink every Monday, and there are events that can get you some free ink as well, it’s all to easy to scroll down the page and accidentally swipe to the next episode and spend ink. It’s very frustrating.. if you’re looking for a better deal that allows you to read these web comics, you’re better off using WEBTOON or Manta.

Pay To Read - July 11, 2020. I used to love this app. I’d always use it, and I loved reading all i could. Then... coins/ink. Now, I understand that the makers of those comics need to make money somehow, but the prices are... to put it simply... absurd! That’s why i uninstalled the app. I could only ever get into a comic for a few chapters until they forced me to pay. I’ve tried every option but anything that involved paying actual money, and sure, they give you some. But it’s so time consuming! Nobody has the time for that. Nobody. There really needs to be a new system. The Webtoon app is so much better simply because they don’t force you to waste so much time buying crap. They use ads and whatnot. I’d rather have ads pop up but still be able to read without worrying about paying to read more. Seriously. It’s called a “fun” way, but I don’t see it in any sort of amusement. Fix it. That’s all. I’m not willing to pay money, only to get a few episodes. That’s ridiculous. The app used to be alright, but now it’s just... yeah. It’s such a bummer, too, because Tapas is an amazing app with a wide variety of comics to read. But this paying system has gotten out of hand.

Great stories, mediocre functionality. OKAY SO I friggin love the stories I find on Tapas compared to webtoons, and the audience is smaller so there’s more commentary that’s actually relevant to the story, which makes it easier to be seen and have conversation. Tapas really has great content. But WOW this app does not care about the functionality. To be honest, I find the app a little difficult to navigate at first, especially since the “messages” tab has nothing to do with comments you leave or receive. You have to tab over to “activity” to see notifications like that. But MY GOD the app just BREAKS all the time! On the regular! It crashes very often, especially when I want to leave a comment. Sometimes it’s fine and I have no problems. But more often than not, especially compared to Webtoons, it freezes up and you have to close it and reopen it to do anything. I never have this problem on the desktop, but this is an app made for mobile consumption. I also have spotty wifi, but again, I DON’T have the same problem with any other app (besides Amino). I don’t know if it’s a budget issue or a quality control issue, or whatever. But I’m (and I’m sure others are too) BEGGING tapas to fix their mobile app to functions better!! Sometimes the entire app just stops working and nothing will load from the get go. I’ll stop now, but I desperately wish my experience on Tapas was better. Especially since the stories and comment section are better than other webcomic apps.

Logging in and account recovery. So I have been using tapas for more than a year now- I’ve always used the same password and email for it, but the app logged me out and wouldn’t let me load any comics so I went to the App Store and it needed updating and I did update but the app still wouldn’t load so I deleted and app then reloaded it but it wouldn’t let me log into the app- so I waited a while then it finally let me log in but once I did all of the coins I spent money buying as well as the comics I I was reading were gone, they weren’t in the library anymore, I tried logging out and logging in again and again but nothing shows up, no history of purchases and no comics saved or bought. I spent money buying those coins and saving them abs now they are gone- I would like to know where they went/ just to be sure, I have used my google account to register on the app and I tried logging in with that same account and it didn’t work and when it finally did I showed that I had nothing in the account- no coins no nothing- I just used the app yesterday so I don’t understand what happened. I spent good money on those coins as well As buying the comics so it’s not fair that it’s all gone like that all of a sudden

Great for reading, Change the payment system?. Hello creators, I really love selection and the webcomics and webnovels on this app; however, the app will randomly freeze semi-regularly. ~Likes~ Some of the novels and comics are free or you can wait for to unlock chapters for free. The second is that the stories have minimal grammar errors unlike other platforms. I love the selection of LGBTQ romance which is the main reason I read digitally now. I definitely want to support the creators. ~Changes~ the ink system— I did some calculations and realized even though I use a lot of ink the ink to $ support conversion is not good :(. A few alternatives to this ink system: the option to unlock by chapter *and* the option to pay $20-35 (or a little more) for the whole story. Another alternative would be to offer a greater variety of price points for ink or be able to enter the amount of ink you need and pay for that much ink. Thank you for giving me a platform with so many wonderful comics and novels to read💜☺️! be able to enter a specific amount of ink and pay for that amount. The current system has ink bundles. The problem is if the amount of ink you need to unlock the remainder doesn’t fit into the preset brackets you have to buy multiple from the preset bundles if you don’t want to move to the next price bracket. Like it, but sometimes issues... Like the app, got annoyed with many changes, but I’ve adapted to them and found some were nice later.. However, lately I’ve done their earn ink events. Like recently I opened over 300 episodes of the series they chose, to try and earn 25k and I didn’t get anything, and I opened way beyond 300 episodes. Bit upset there, since I set alarms to open episodes too. Plus today I also did a smaller event of opening an episode of a series, and nothing. Usually those give them after maybe a couple hours at most after completion, but nothing this time. I suppose I can give it 24hrs, but I’m also seeing a glitch of them not updating the new episodes and dates not being right on new ones too. So I don’t think I’ll be holding my breath. Either they’ve changed how you do those offers, such as what/how they consider “unlocking” episodes, or there’s a big glitch with it. Regardless, it doesn’t make me want to even try and read the series that are put up. Which is a shame, because quite a few series I’ve decided “Well I’ve had my eye on this for awhile, so why not try and read what I opened for the event?“ or “It’s been awhile since I’ve read this, I remember liking it, so I’ll binge while I earn ink!”, such examples. If this continues, I’ll probably only stick to what I’m already reading, or just look at things that catch my eye and not bother with anything that doesn’t seem interesting in the events.

New Update?. Tapas is a great app, there’s tons of comics you can read for free or you can earn coins if you’re not willing to spend money. The comics are great and there’s a huge variety of genres to pick from. don’t get me wrong I the app but the new update changed so now episodes you wait to unlock are only readable for 3 days after you unlock them. I’m not really a fan of that because some of the series you need to wait a whole week to get the free episode, and because i read a lot i need a refresher so i usually look at the past episode just so i’m not lost. But now that they changed it you’ve just got to deal with it. I know other apps also do the same thing but that’s why i preferred tapas over them because i could have all the past episodes i’ve read in case i need to look back at a part i’ve forgotten. Hopefully this will change in the future and go back to the way it was. I’m not even sure why it’s a thing, it’s not like the company will gain more money just because they do it, and if you want to re read the series you have to wait again unless you want to buy it if you haven’t before. I get that you didn’t buy the chapter so why would you get to keep it, but there isn’t a benefit to having that time frame. the people who use the WUF will continue and the people who don’t, won’t so i just don’t get it.

better than WEBTOON. i haven't been using tapas too long, but i definitely prefer it over webtoon or other apps (haven't tried manta but heard good things) tapas has a clan interface, plenty of popular manhwa, and it's user friendly!! it's very easy to get ink, the currency that you use, because they not only have offers (which have a nice amount of rewards that is actually useful), but every monday you get free ink, completing missions gives you ink, and for your first week u just get free ink every day. lots of their manhwa are WUF (wait until free), where you can get a free episode after a certain amount of time (1-3 days), certain collections or events give you free episode unlocks for any series you choose, and every saturday they give u free episodes for a selection of stories. the only things that really bother me are that you can't delete the episodes you download if you download them on accident, you just have to wait the 30 days, and that sometimes i have to close the chapter and reload for images after i have bad internet for a minute

App keeps freezing. When I get into the app it is totally normal it’s totally fine it has nothing wrong with it but the moment I open up a comic to read and I start scrolling it starts to freeze so then I have to exit the app go back in and it’ll still going to be frozen and then I have to get out again and go back in it’ll be unfrozen and it restarts and then I have to keep going back in the same process for like 30 minutes until I give up. It’s very upsetting I Love the app it’s a very good app I have been using it for a while now and just for some reason it freezes when I read a comic. I can be scrolling to look for a comic and it’ll be fine but the moment I open one up it starts to freeze and it’s not just one, it’s all comics. And if I try to open up another one it’s still end up freezing and it’s really annoying and it’s bugging the heck out of me at first I thought maybe it’s cause it needs an update and I updated it and it just seem to get worse so I don’t know what’s going on but it keeps freezing and it’s annoying. I just want it fixed so I can read a comic without having to sign out and sign back in every 30 seconds. Literally it only takes about 30 seconds to a minute when I start reading a comic fro it to freeze sometimes very rarely it will take a long time for it to freeze but it constantly freezes.

The app keeps shutting down. (I actually mentioned this issue on you’re guys Instagram and it said to contact you guys so I hope this is good enough i do not know if I have to email you guys but if it doesn’t fix I will try to do that) I love this app I’ve used it for many years (I think since I 10 or so I’m 15 now) and never had a problem as I use it on my iPhone but recently since a few months ago I can’t remember exactly when it started (sorry for that) the app has started shutting its self down countless times upon me using it for ex I was reading SE;ki and I could maybe get trough two more newly updated comics before in the middle of me reading it would just down and from that moment it will happen 2-3 more times out of no where until I just give up and stop using it for some time and when I choose to use it again it just shuts down again at first I thought it was just my phone but than I gotta new one and it is still happening I’m guessing this is just on mobile device because I use it on my laptop though it’s slow as heck so I don’t prefer it but on that it does not shut down only on my iPhone so please fix this I love this app so very much and I don’t want to have to go back to reading webtoon T~T it isn’t as good!

The tapas survey asks “are you male or female” and you can’t take surveys until you pick one. It’s designed specifically to exclude and discriminate against us. Screw you, tapas. Original: Despite having a massive queer audience, the company still others it’s queer customers. They’re currently queer baiting with their “Pride Collection”, while at the same time non-binary people aren’t even allowed to take surveys. I’ve sent so so so many messages to support about them partnering with transphobic or just ignorant companies in the past for their surveys, but usually just end up skipping through them until I find one that’s correct. Like, LEGALLY I am non-binary. It’s on my freaking driver’s license and birth certificate. Has been for YEARS. How in 2023 can you pretend that we don’t even EXIST???? How am I still having to defend my EXISTENCE to people??!? It’s exhausting! Now I find that ALL other surveys are locked behind tapas’ own binary-enforcing survey, meaning you can’t take ANY survey if you can’t answer it. I heavily regret all the cash and time I’ve spent getting ink. They want to take our money and then belittle us as people. Disgusting. Just go read on Webtoons. Happy Pride, y’all.

Great app, but there’s a problem.... I’m enjoying this app. With all the different types of comics available to read, it’s has something for everyone. So I say to keep ‘me coming. HOWEVER, the app tends to bring up a blank page, then shuts off after 30 seconds. Let me explain: Whenever I’m done reading a comic for the night, I’ll shut off the app. The next day, when I open the app and go back to the comic I was reading, it brings up a blank page, then freezes up. I can’t go back or do anything with the app. About 30 seconds later, the app will shut down and I’ll have to reopen the app. But again, it’ll do the same thing and I can’t read the comics. The only way to “fix” the problem is to erase the app from my phone and upload it again. That way I can sign in and go back to the comics I was enjoying. BUT I’ve had to do this three times already. It’s not the end of the world, but it can be annoying. So the app needs to be fixed. Hopefully sooner rather then later.

Some issues but overall okay. Took some time for me to get used to the way tapas works coming from a webtoon user, it was way different like you have to either purchase or wait for it to be time to unlock the episode. I liked it at first but the wait was annoying for some I had to wait like 7 days but others it was just 24 hours, but it was worth it bc I was able to keep the episode unlocked forever, without having to use the ink, but eventually they took that down so now whenever we unlock the episode we only keep that episode for a certain amount of time, but at least the wait wasn’t for long it was only like 3 hours, I hated that bc I read so many stories I need to refresh my memory of what happened the previous episode so I would use the ink on the same episode again but eventually got used to that too, but what I didn’t like was how it didn’t show what episode I left off on so I lost track but they fixed that too so now it shows. Since I prefer the stories that have a 3 hour wait or a wait time, I don’t usually, unless it’s from an event, I use ink but I noticed how they took down the watch videos for ink, kind of disappointed by that, and now we can only invite friends for ink, or complete offers for ink

Great app but.... I enjoy the variety that tapas provides however the new update has caused me some frustration, I understand that they need to display their sponsored comics however it’s overly difficult to find comic that you can read if you are unable to read the featured ones. Even then it takes even longer to find comics you already haven’t seen. While at first this didn’t bother me so much I’ve become increasingly frustrated because, while not always, sometimes when I leave a comic I was quickly looking at from the genre category in the community comics, I go all the way back to the sponsored ones. I also have issue with the discover tab, while I really like the idea in theory the first thing you see when you open it is a featured comic suggested not at all based on your tastes. Even when you scroll down to the community comics, you only see comics recently updated. Rather than this I would display comics with a good amount of hearts(?) for the amount of subscribers(?) that doesn’t already have a huge fan base. Preferably these comics would also be updates rather recently as well. However this is most likely hard to implement so if now this then simply display comics that the user has not read in the genres the user prefers to avoid someone who doesn’t enjoy romance comics getting suggested “chief seduction officer”. Even easier just turn it into the community comics/novels tab

Love supporting artists but the app itself.... The comics on here are amazing and you can buy ink to support artists which I’m always here for but the app is really buggy. If i get a notification that theres a new chapter and i open the app THROUGH that notification, nothing ever loads, and when i click the back arrow since the chapter never loads, it suddenly has logged me out and it takes a few attempts to click the log in button for it to work. Then once I’m logged in, it doesn’t show me what has updated i have to go to subscriptions to find the right comic and then I click it and none of the chapters load. It always says 0 chapters, and even though it tells me to continue reading at whatever chapter it bookmarked me at, that also never loads. This happens to me basically every time something updates so at least once a week which is how often I use the app, sometimes I end up not reading for that week cause I’m so frustrated. I hope this can get fixed because I really do love reading these.

Absolutely love the app, but there’s a glitch. It’s a great app and I love the comics on it.....but there’s a pretty annoying problem that I keep coming across. When I want to reread a comic it can freeze, like I’ll get to page 10 and it will show a grey screen and it will freeze, and I have to close the app and open it again. I have to do that quite a couple of times if I want to get through the rest of the comic which is really bothersome. Sometimes it doesn’t even happen when I’m rereading a comic it happens when I click on story/comic that updated and it won’t show the page it just shows a grey screen, then I have to exit and reopen the app. Other than that I love everything else about the app the comics are great and the creators are amazing, I’m a little irritated with the way the ink works where you basically have to buy the ink (which is pretty expensive) if you want to read a certain comic and yeah there’s ones with timers but when the comic gets to a certain point you have to start paying for it....and a lot of comics you have to pay for or use ink. I just wish this glitch or whatever it is can be fixed and that ink is easier to get.

Amazing. I’ve been with Tapas for over five years. Let me tell you it was great seeing them grow from just a community of rising artists to now offering high quality premium stuff to read. I love the diverse novels and comics offered. They have free comics, ones that are unlocked after time is passed and ones that require ink. Ink is super easy to earn now compared to the past when it was just coins. They have partnered with much more sponsors. The best thing that sets them apart is the fact that we are able to support the artists and writers by donating these ink! I love that! What compelled me to write a review for the first time ever is that recently I was hacked. 50,000 worth of ink was gone. I contact the Tapas team and they resolved this problem on a timely and professional manner that allowed me to gain access to my account again and recover my stolen ink. I am so grateful to them and they have definitely earned my loyalty. I hope this app continues to prosper as it has. And once again. Thank you Tapas team. I hope others will enjoy this app as much as I do.

I love this app but at this point I’m deleting it. Of course this app has amazing content and I loved reading the comics and novels. I’m disappointed to say that I’m deleting the app because of some weird glitch that happened to me this morning. I occasionally would have issues where the comic wouldn’t load when I’d open it and I’d have to close the app just to refresh it. But this morning the app seemed to just not show any of what I was reading. I had only been off of the app for a couple days and when I came back thinking I was going to continue reading my favorite comics nothing popped up on recents or my lists. It just showed a loading icon. And nothing would load. I thought it was due to poor connection till nothing showed up at all and gave me a clean slate. I’m supper disappointed to have to make a whole new account or start over because it decided to erase my data. I was deep into a good amount of comics and to start the process to reread the wait for free comics. Is a whole mood kill. I’m deleting the app due to how much I lost due to this glitch.

No longer wait until free to keep. I’m not a fan of the new update. The one thing that elevated Tapas over other comic providers like TappyToons, Webcomics, PocketComics and WEBTOON was the fact that if you were patient enough certain comics you could earn for free up until the last 10-15 episodes which I was always happy to spend for once I was sure the comic was completed then I could sit and read the comic start to finish with no wait times. Now though it appears you can only unlock wait comics for 72 hrs which for a lot of these comics which still have 24hr to 7 day wait time for their next episode I’ll never be able to read those comics from start to finish without shelling out $30-$60 bucks depending on long they wind up being. I understand that you want to pay you creators but maybe introduce a publishing arm to publish hard copies of these comics and novels there is a market for them and if you pull in $10 per season per comic you still will come out on top especially for readers like myself who would enjoy having a hard copy in their homes and a digital copy for when they travel.

Wonderful comics. Don’t get me wrong, I think the Tapas app runs really well, especially on my kind of old phone. It’s very easy for me to find and read all the comics in my library and there are a lot of great comics to enjoy. All the comics I have in my library are spectacular. Honestly I don’t really feel as if Tapas is the place for books as it’s been a comic site for so long but you do you. The main issue is that it seems to be getting harder to get to the regular creator-made comics rather than the “Tapas Exclusive” pay-to-read ones. You were really doing well with the new tab you had that featured comics and then you’ve replaced that with another page for your pay to read comics and books. I love your app and the comics on it, but please try to stay true to your original base and focus at least a little more on your everyday creators rather than your sponsored ones. Besides this, your app runs really well. I rarely have issues with it and everything works smoothly. I can appreciate the work all the developers have put into it and the coin system works well. Nice job.

So much money - Ink System is botched.. I love the tapas stories but there is barely any stories available where you can wait to read. You either have to spend hours doing surveys to get the ink to unlock chapters or buy ink. I’ve spent, no lie, around $300 on ink, if not more, so I could read these flipping stores. Each chapter to unlock costs 300 ink. I just feel like I should be getting more out of my buck if I’m going to be spending my money. Also, the surveys you can do to get free ink are bogus. It’ll say the survey will take 3-5 minuets but actually take upwards of 20-25 minutes just to get like 200 ink MAYBE. And asks the same question 10 times. There’s no guarantee that you’ll even get what was promised either since it goes on length of survey. The app will give you some randomly but I mean it’s enough for one chapter then you’re out of luck. Also app developers can y’all please for the love of everything fix the surveys? Like make them more user friendly on phones? Why do I have to enter the same information a million different times? Also put in a keyboard in the app that gives auto generated answers and don’t have surveys that ask the same question a million times on the same survey. Like seriously, I dont mind filling out surveys I just don’t like when I spending 25minuets on a survey for 168 ink that said was only suppose to be 5mins and when it’s finally completed I only get like half of the promised ink.

Fair Though Not a Likable Recent Change. I’ve been using Tapas for a while such that I’ve used this app before the newest update (where the WUF now allows a temporary unlock on chapters); while I do understand that it’s to maximize profits (as we live in a capitalistic world) - I am one of the many that feel upset by this change (because I feel less motivated to invest into WUF comics). Consequently, I would like to propose that perhaps the permanent unlock feature on WUF should be returned with the compromise that it takes longer to wait until free; I always thought that it was quite a better deal for the users for some of the comics to be unlocked in a day (and how Tapas provided accessible methods along with events to get free ink) so I wouldn’t have mind if the change made the WUF a 1 or 2 week long timer. In this way, people can feel reassured to being invested in a comic while the motive for using ink on a WUF comic is still increased since it would take much more time to unlock.

My favorite app for paid comics. Tapas is my favorite app for paid comics. The price for ink isn’t bad, especially compared to other apps and cites that are paid for. My only complaint with it comes from a more recent problem, not with the comics, but with the novels. I only recently started reading the novels but I have found this reoccurring problem where the whole chapter won’t show. I would have to go go out of the chapter and back in to read the rest of it, which it doesn’t charge me double for it but it is still a little annoying when I find a new novel and have to exit out after every chapter. That is my only problem with it but also most people don’t read the novels on the app anyways. Which is quite sad because they update more frequently and are cheaper for how many chapters you get. They do have a good and wide selection of stories that are high quality. Overall, would recommend using Tapas over any other app for paid comics.

unadvertised micro transactions (expensive). you’ll begin reading a webcomic you think is free, but there are no ads on the app, so you wonder if it’s all patron based. then you get a couple chapters in, you’re still not sure if you love it, not much of the plot has happened yet, just character intros and suddenly it wants you to pay to read the rest of the series. it says you can watch ads to get free coins but the ads are all 30seconds long and you only get 10 coins from it while most chapters are worth over 300 coins and whole series are over 20,000. you could just buy coins but THEY ARE EXPENSIVE! $20 for a webcomic I’m only mildly interested in? no thank you. I’ll spend my money on things I know i like. But now i’m afraid to use the app because, I don’t know if every webcomic I read and begin to like will eventually charge me and force me to commit or quit. I understand the need to pay the artists, I support my favorite creators on patreon when I can and I don’t use ad blocker. But I felt tricked, like it wasn’t advertised as being pay to read and now I’ve deleted the whole app because I’m too poor to support all of its artists on a whim. If you can afford to buy things just to see if you like it or not, please enjoy this app.

Great app. Honestly, everything on the app is straightforward and easy to understand. And not to mention, a lot of the manga are very inclusive on sexuality, gender and many more. There’s also a lot of variety, so finding a story you like isn’t that big of an issue. Then there’s the ink. There are wait until free manga that you can read, where every 3 hours they are free to read again and you don’t have to pay anything. Then on Monday’s you get free ink via a fortune cookie, which you can use to unlock episodes that aren’t part of the WUF thing. And if you don’t have enough ink, there are ads you can watch that give you five ink for every ad that you watch. I believe the max ads are 30 for 2 hours, but I could be wrong about that. Anyway, even the ink earning system for the manga’s are great! Love the app, and 100% recommend. However I have had recurring issues with the app, where every time I try to open it my phone automatically logs me out. It’s happened every few months, and is really frustrating to deal with. Be aware of that when downloading the app. There is also the freezing issue where tapas will freeze randomly, so beware of that as well.

Rip off. They are two series that have one episode free. Let me give you the names so you won’t think I’m exaggerating the first one is called Mr. Brawn or something like that the second one is called 100% perfect go search it up you’ll see that I’m not lying .apples probably going to delete this review but it’s the truth. Also getting free ink is difficult like the prices are high so I would have to watch like 15 ads but I would have to watch them at different times but if I get lucky they will pretend like I dropped some ink and also at different times I can’t watch the ads for free and I don’t want to use real money so please at least lower the prices make the ads a little more available and please you could lock your comics but please don’t protect it too much what I mean by protect is only giving one episode free that’s just basically giving them a scam . Overall they have some pretty great comics and novels but I just think it’s the payment method that they use for free and the prices like I’m just going to read a couple of chapters but I can’t even read two no that’s just a rip off

Great until service update. I have been using tapas for less than a year and was subscribed to ~100 series. I’d log on and read as many as I could in my free time pretty much daily until the most recent service update came out. There used to be a wait until free function that allowed you to unlock an episode every day until you reached the x most recent episodes - x varied from series to series. I would spend money to get ink to read finished seasons, finished series, stay up to date on my very favorites, and series on hiatus. However, now it is nearly impossible to to keep track of where I was in each series because wuf episodes only stay unlocked for 72 hours and the continue button does not pick up from where you were, it seems to pick up from the last unlocked episode. I was ecstatic to find Tapas because of the high quality stories and art and variety compared to any of the other apps, but the newest update has totally ruined my experience and I will be deleting my account as soon as I get home, since you can’t do it on the app. I’m sad to not get to finish the stories I was reading, but it’s way too difficult to try and continue where I left off. Very sad about this business decision. Seems like just another money grab rather than promoting a good experience for artists and readers.

TAPAS IT THE BEST. Now here me out I’ve LOVE reading comics/ manga and I use lots of different apps right. They are all good but let me tell ya tapas has more adult content. I’ve been reading from smack Jeeves because it’s free and more mature. But it’s hard to keep up with it. But tapas has all the comics I’ve been reading on smack Jeeves. You don’t have to pay to read good comics like LezhinComics or webcomic and it’s simple to get ink. It’s not like webtoon that you have to find your updated comics it’s simple and straight forward. Although sometimes when I wanna read something it tells me to go to the website, kinda a hassle but just go to website and read it from there and it will directly transfer to the app. I just love tapas cause it’s more mature and has a variety of different story’s to read. (Did I mention it has novels) Now I am not the type of person to read novels but it is a great tool to use when your parents ask you what your doing. Just pull up and novel and BAM your reading. Awesome would recommend. But do wish it showed which comics/novels you viewed and gave us more options for the genre like GL fan fic ect. Cheers 🥂 😉

It’s slow and freezes as well as just shut down. I f*#%$ing loooove this app but of the variety it offer, the artist are so freaking talented. Each webtoon holds your tightly in its grips and you can’t help but love being captivated by each story development. But for the love of god can this app work like a functional software!!!!! It’s so fristrating with your about to climax at an important scene and the app crashes because tapas decided on a promotional toon and it wants to show the users. Smh and when you try to go back freezes for so long. Not to mention it’s a tease with the app decides to upload slowly so your looking at the cover of your favorite subscribed money spent comic and the chapter won’t load at all for thirty minutes. It’s enough to give you a heart attack!!!! But because I love the effort and communication from the artist and developers it gives me hope they’ll get better. I love you guys just concentrate on the software as much as your focus on the creation of each webtoon! Thanks you

It is malfunctioning. So…I’m new to tapas. I’ve been a fan of Webtoon for awhile. But I wanted more comics bc I’ve basically seen all the ones of Webtoon. Tapas is amazing!! It has so many comics and they’re so cool, but the problem is you have to download the app in order to earn free ink and have one touch or whatever. And it’s really hard to use. The notifications do not consistently work. It was really hard to navigate, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to claim my new to the app pack. Occasionally I would get notifications that say “claim your new pack” and I would click on the notification. It would bring me to the app and then say “sorry we find what your looking for” 🤷‍♀️. And I scoured the app looking for a way to find it myself, but no luck. It would log me out of the app multiple time a day. The ads (for free ink) malfunction a lot (sorta, to be fair I was watching a lot of ads lol). But I can deal with all of that annoying stuff. What was really frustrating is when the app shuts down. I’ll be watching a comic and the screen will freeze and turn black. And when I try to go back in the same thing happens again. I was so concerned that I decided to delete the app, and maybe try to redownload it later. The whole day I’ve been thinking of the comic I was reading earlier 😓. I dont know what to do at this point. I hope, if I decide to redownload, that I have a better experience.

:( listen to us we didn't want or ask for this. I used to really love this app and how it was unique from the other apps I use to read comics on, as not only was there a way to support creators but it was so easy to do so, if you yourself didn’t have money that you could easily spend on their ink bundles the app used to provide a second and third option for users to receive ink without having to pay money which was watching short formed ads and and taking surveys, when I was bored would use the options to watch ads and take the surveys for ink, but unfortunately with the new update that is no longer possible it has made me Very disappointed and it has discouraged me from wanting to use this app anymore as there is no longer anyway for me to, 1) Get ink easily without having to spend money(which a lot of us can’t easily do). 2) Without anyway to receive ink easily a lot of users can no longer easily support their favorite creators(which is really unfortunate considering inksgiving is this month). In conclusion, the new update is a horrible decision that the developers of this app has done, as no one asked for this and with them not listening to what we readers want it looks they will soon be losing a lot of readers.

Was my favorite :(. Of the various apps, Tapas had the best features for me. I enjoyed the comment section and the selection of stories. I also loved how they weren’t stingy with the wait until frees, until the new update that is. I was even willing to turn a blind eye when to the app glitching (freezing up, not loading, showing blank screens, being to sensitive when you use the ‘auto unlock’ feature when causes you to spend more than you originally anticipate). Now with ‘72 hr availability’, it’s no better than the rest of them! I’ve put money into this one and one other so I can support the creators and the app, which I appreciated. It *was* my #1. I prefer Webtoon’s model over this and I hate their daily unlock stories (as in, typically avoid like the plague). Good gravy. Now with Tapas using 72 hr availability, I like it a lot less. I’m even more irritated they rolled it out by changing the terms of service in a seemingly vague way first. I have a few stories I’ve been unlocking for ink, but I’m going to be less motivated to do so moving forward and will be spending a lot less time in the app. Will be spending less with Tapas moving forward and try to support other apps now.

technical difficulties. I love this app and have been able to use it with little to no problems in the past, but lately it seems to just not be able to accomplish basic tasks on my phone. for example, i paid $10 for more ink and received it but am unable to use it to unlock episodes. When I go to spend ink on an episode it says it’s loading but it doesn’t stop loading no matter how long I spend waiting. If I have the patience to wait long enough, my phone will turn off and when I turn it back on it will still be loading. I don’t care about the money as much as I’m upset I haven't been able to unlock episodes with the ink I have. It also doesn’t load in rewards, let me subscribe to comics, let me edit my account or change my password. When I go to save changes or reset my password it either tells me an email with a link has been sent (and never sends me an email) or that they “couldn’t find anything I’m looking for” I’m able to read free episodes just fine but the technical difficulties have been frustrating. I’ve updated the app and my phone completely, tried running the app with cellular data turned off on every app but this one(which sometimes works even on wifi for some reason), and nothing has changed. I would love to figure out what’s going wrong and how to fix it moving forward because I enjoy this app a lot when I’m able to use it.

Good Story.... but. The story on Tapas are good so far. I haven't had it for very long, but so far, the animation is beautiful, the stories are fun to read and can easily get you hooked. However, I'm not a fan of the coin system. I understand that the artist worked very hard and deserve a good pay for their work, however, I feel that the episodes are too short for 300 coins (if you decide on 1-tap pay, which already is 20% discounted). The other option is to pay the original coin price without the 20% off. More coins can be bought, however, if 1 episode is 300 coins, then you will easily, and fast, run out of coins and have to buy more. If you find other stories that you find interesting then it's easy to do the math and notice that you'll run out of money quick. Not to mention, it's a comic so the story will have many episodes. There are free episodes, but usually only 3 and another 1 free episode, but you'll have to wait 24 hours to receive a free episode and who wants to wait that long? I would recommend that Tapas have a monthly subscription like Mantra App does (LOVE LOVE that app by the way) instead of the coin base.

It’s nice.. but could be better. My first thoughts on this app is how well the stories are written and how good the art style is displayed. The stories are entertaining and enjoyable, I do not fault anything against the writers and illustrators. However it appears there is a constant problem with how to access the content with the terms as “Tapas Ink” this ink would be used to unlock chapters within the series of the stories. At first I completely didn’t understand this layout and the app itself was confusing by its appearance. As I looked further into the “Tapas ink” I found options to purchase the ink or to earn them for free. I attempted at the surveys and quizzes they recommended but I was given shady websites that wanted my information and insisted I do another, I understand apps need advertisement but this is not how I would expect it to be and how it wasn’t as rewarding as it should be. I also think the amount of ink needed to unlock a chapter is an unfair amount and should be reduced. My final thoughts are this isn’t my first choice to go to if I want to read comics if changes were made then I would reconsider and approve, but unfortunately it comes down to how many views apps have and ratings.

Great app!. I really love this app! Tapas has so many amazing and popular series so I’m really glad I can support the authors and read official translations. I assume the author determines whether there are “free episodes” available for their series which can vary between waiting 3hrs, 1 day, 3 days or even 7 days to access the free episode but love that there are so many series that only have the 3hr waiting period so I don’t have to wait as long to read the next free episode. Tapas uses ‘ink’ to unlock episodes and the costs are roughly in line with (cheaper than some) other apps that I have used (especially when using the 1-tap option). I like that there’s a way to earn free ‘ink’ by watching ads or completing actions e.g. completing surveys. There are also regular promotional events that allow you to earn ‘bonus ink’ and also be introduced to a great new series. Just be weary that any ‘bonus ink’ received expires and dates are based on MM/DD/YYYY. All in all, I’m a very happy reader and am extremely glad I found this app!

Ye but no. I loved tapas, I’ve been using it for months now, I also bought ink and read a lot of comics that I loved! But for some reason every time I try to get on the app, I lag out and it’s been 4 or 5 days now. I deleted the app and downloaded again, I reseted my iPad and checked the internet. And now I’m sad :( please help me if you’re gonna read this because I spent money on it

I like the comics but there is a huge problem with information. look....I love the comics and I want to read more so badly but the problem is I don’t have any tapas ink. No i can’t buy tapas ink cuz I’m literally broke and yes I have tried the unlimited get free ink. But they never let me get any ink at all. I spent 2 hours on a task but it just keeps leading you on being like continue this survey to succeed and the once you finish that survey it’s like here is another one ! Eventually I end up doing the 20ink ones and when I do it barely enough to even unlock a single episode. And I do not appreciate how they want my personal info when I’m just trying to get some free ink. Like please stop with the enter you card number or give us your information on where you live. Why can you guys just let me to survey that ACTUALLY ends and give me some ink without exposing my information and making me spend 3 hours on it.

Really good but crashes. I really love this app it has amazing stories and art but there are two problems. 1 the app kicks me out 5 minutes of reading my book or for just being in the app in general. 2 it is really hard to ink for me I want all the videos, then when I go to do a survey nearly all the surveys say I’m not qualified but and sometimes it tells me that before I even answer one question or it just says survey not available. It takes me hours just to get enough ink to read one episode of my book but with the game crashing and not saving my episode progress I am not even being able to read one episode! Can’t read some episodes from the wait for free list it glitches, some of the worst help service I’ve had they don’t ever answer I have been waiting for weeks with no reply, I also got no reward from the new event I bought ink and read over 20 episodes but got no reward

App crashing. Hello I love the app and I love all the art and comics but there is one issue the app keeps crashing I can’t even read a single comic or story. I can’t even just be on the main page before it crashes. I was wondering is there a way to fix this? And if you could tell me how please. Thank you for the great stories and I love all the different varieties of stories and authors.

Overcharged multiple times. Look I love this app and love reading the stories, but I’m absolutely sick and tired of being double charged. Most times I purchase the $2.99 ink, only once, your app charges me twice! It happened when I purchased the $7.99 pack too. I’ve requested refunds through apple but they’re unable to do so and are telling me I must go to the developer. Your app is amazing, this needs to be fixed though. And I would like my money back for the multiple times I’ve been double charged and haven’t even received the ink.

Great App!. I’ve only had Tapas installed for 2 days but that’s long enough for me to see the outstanding goods and potential within its boarders. Tapas not only has a variety of really good and well-edited books, but also an individual category for BoyxBoy, GirlxGirl, and LGBTQ+ You’re able to like comments, meanwhile spam books or comments aren’t anywhere or existence, meaning that any book you post will be actually recognised. Tapas also has a “Fresh reads” area to ensure that your book gets noticed amongst all the other popular ones. Tapas is amazing! Personal complaint since I have been struggling for 30 minutes on this one thing: Book cover image Ratio error. Now I’ve been trying to post one of my books on here, and no matter myself making the size 960 Width x 1440 Height, even some high quality photos, it comes up with “Image Ratio error” I got overly stressed out because I had no idea what this means and really needed some instructions. It would be helpful if a video clip or really basic examples and instructions were shown, because I immediately get stressed out and have an anxiety attack when I fail to do something multiple times. Other than that, the Premium stories are my favourite, and Inks (coins) are really easy to obtain through the videos. Despite my struggle, I still give Tapas 5 stars! (Just please make posting easier).

Neutral. Okay I’ve had tapas for around 2 weeks now and it’s AMAZING I love the stories and all but I’m here to complain, so I turn OFF 1-tap and it still one taps me, I’m losing ink and I hate it, another problem is getting ink is impossible, when I do surveys I don’t get the ink, it just says ‘Thank you for sharing pls go back’ or something like that I rest my case :/

Dark mode crashes app. The app was running perfectly, until dark mode was introduced now the app freezes (usually in the middle of a comic or novel) and I can’t do anything whist it’s frozen. It’s only “fixed” when I go in and out of the app. Not only does the app freeze, the pages on novels are now completely black I can swipe left and right for new chapters but their all black. They sometimes flash with text but as soon as my finger touches the screen it turns black again.

Help your app keeps crashing. The crashing has been happening for awhile and I was hoping it would be fixed by now, since there was an update but I still can’t open the app. I use an iPad, don’t know if this is why the app keeps crashing. Please help. Other then this the app is great.

Tapas is actually a really good app. I think the selection of books and comics is really good and they also have a large variety of LGBTQ+ friendly books and comics if your a big reader I think you should give tapas a try and it’s not hard to get ink either so dont knock it till your try it

Needs more ways to get ink. I love the game but I recommend adding more ways to obtain ink! I’m running out of ink almost instantly, and I’m unable to read anything, when I went to watch videos it said 0/60 I watched 7 videos and was no longer able to watch any videos for ink, now all I have is the invite 200 ink thing. But I have no friends who don’t already have the app. And whenever the demo thing comes up (RARELY IF I MUST ADD, and the videos don’t come up anymore either) I can only do one demo before it goes away and I’m then left for days without a way to get ink. Other than that I really love the app it’s a great way for writers/illustrators to share they’re work. And a good place for readers like myself to enjoy they’re stories even if I have to wait weeks before I can read another episode

New update. The original app was superb, loved it, it rarely gave me any problems. The new update however, it’s doing my head in a bit. So part of the new update was to expire a ‘wait until free episode’ after like, 72 hours which was, an okay idea, I wasn’t a fan but it’s fine. But the problem for me is that once you read that episode, and it expired, there was nothing that showed that you had already read that episode. And it may be because I can’t be arsed to remember the freaking picture at the front of each episode to go “oh I have read that one!” So I have probably been tapping in the same episode all week to all my one a week books so I have to wait another week and hope that I don’t open an episode I have already read. I don’t need to keep an episode for longer than 72 hours, but I would really love some sort of marker or something to display that I have already read it.

My pot of patience is running low.... This app has so many version changes, but what I don’t understand is how the app still doesn’t function optimally. The library doesn’t load the new episodes even when I get notifications. The front page shows the newly added episodes but when I click on it, it shows me the name of the comic with black screen underneath. I’m so mad hat my tapas usage has drastically reduced. I’m looking to features from my work and life and relax with wonderful co tent posted by the creators. But when I come here, the app tests my patience. I don’t like the web version on mobile phones. Can someone please fix this?

I like bingeing comics. Please create a premium subscription function unlocking all comics. I would buy that in a HEARTBEAT omg. I personally love bingeing comics and shows, and I don’t enjoy waiting a whole twenty four hours for each episode. The effort it takes to acquire enough free Ink to immerse in a story isn’t worth it either. I coulddd pay for Ink, but the Ink to episode ratio is tear jerking. The value I’d get out of several days of a monthly/weekly subscription in comparison to the value of fifty episodes unlocked with Ink is far far greater. Some other apps offer an unlimited subscription, but I guess it is one of the unique aspects to Tapas that sets it apart… However, it’s just a bit disappointing after realising that so many comics need unlocking 😭 I would love to support the artists, and I understand this is a great way to give and pay them what they deserve, because it’s a looooot of their time that’s gone into it. I just probably won’t be using this app as often ☹️ Beautiful, beautiful artwork though 😍

Good content but buggy app. Its a 50/50 chance that when opening the app that is actually works and does what it suppose to. I use an iphone xs so I shouldn’t have any issues but it crashes, logs me out, freezes and mental lag. Also even though the series I’m reading are meant to give free episodes excluding a set amount, of course, I am not receiving these free episodes so I’m force to rely on free ink I get.

Bad customer support and a bit buggy. Whenever I complete offers/surveys with tapresearch, sometimes it gets really buggy and doesn’t add the ink I earned into my account. I’ve tried contacting the people responsible, and I always get an automated message saying they’ll refund me but only gives me 10 ink. Wish I could talk to a real human that could help me solve my issues. That’s my only complaint with Tapas, the stories and creators are wonderful and I love the community offered by Tapas.

Poorly made. I got this app to view the works of artists I've been following for years. I'm delighted to help support them and am happy to view their art through a service to ensure they are benefiting for me freeing viewing their content. I just wish they'd pick a platform that worked. But this platform is terrible. When you open the app (usually from a link from the artist from Facebook/etc) you are bombarded with ads, one which seems to have a count down then another which the x doesn't appear for a while, seemingly advertising Tapas itself for some reason. Then once you're finally in, the link never works, you're never actually taken to the comic you clicked the link for. Comes up with some error about 'not being able to find it' every time for at least the past 1.5 years. So you click on the library tab which 50/50 will show you the content you're subscribed to.

New update. I absolutely love Tapas and spend most my day reading and it is my most used reading app :) but I’m really not a fan about the new update layout :/ hence the loss of star cause they don’t do half stars lol but still recommend just miss the old layout already ( T~T)

Enh. The comics are great, but the system is flawed as it is so dependent on ink. Ink isn’t cheap. And even if you get a few thousand, it won’t last that long. Sometimes the ink doesn’t even deliver. Also, the premium comics require a lot of ink, usually around 300. Also, whenever they release new episodes, they release multiple at once, instead of releasing one long episode it releases two or three, making you use even more ink. All in all, the app has great comics, but reading those comics is such a pain.

Messaging System. Please add a better messaging system where mobile users actually get notified of replies & profile messages! there is no reliable way to contact someone on tapas mobile, so if someone is restricted to that they never get any messages! It's really frustrating and makes the mobile experience frustrating and useless compared to desktop

Incredibly disappointed. Don’t bother with this app. Download another app or.. 🏴‍☠️ (iykyk). (TLDR at bottom) They used to be incredible, they had many good features, one of the main ones being this feature where you could watch ads for ink, then they pulled some stupid bullshxt and said (key word: said) they’d replace it with a system where you could watch an ad for one episode (w/ a limit of 3 times a day, so three episodes a day) or smth, then they just removed all of it. No new ad system, no old ad system. No ad system. So now you have to buy. It’s “spend money, or leave.” I actually used to spend money on this app when I had money to spend. I won’t be spending anything on it at all now. It’s really a such a shame to see such an amazing app turn to.. this. They screwed over their userbase and their creators. Will be finding alternative places to read comics/novels. :/ TLDR: It used to be an amazing app, then they completely ruined it with the new update. Very disappointing. Find another app to download.

Amazing app!! except… 💜💜. Okay don’t get me wrong, tapas is an amazing app!! It can provide tons of entertainment and the comics are awesome!!! Very good if you like anime/manga comics or novels. It also supports LGBTQ+ if any of you like to read those kinda comics. I will just say, some comics or novels may have swearing for any of those parents reading this but hey, you know your kid has heard swearing before, it’s nothing new… So anyway An AmaZing app but the one problem is some comics I’m reading have locked episodes and that means that I either have to pay in game money or wait 3 days for 1 tiny comic strips and that gets annoying for all my fellow binge readers. But yea! I do very much recommend 💜💜

Update needs adjustments. I’ve updated the app recently and I cannot tell you how many times I’ve gotten the pop up message for the “update now” add and even though I’ve pressed don’t ask again it pops up. And annoyingly when I’m reading. I don’t like that the place where the updated comics would appear on the main page is gone, it now adds an extra unnecessary step to find them. Also why is there a ranking? Why is that necessary? I’m just disappointed

Settings problem. I'm not sure if it's got a bug or I'm being impatient but when I went to change my email it would say sending a link soon so I wait twenty minutes it doesn't show up. But it is a good app for reading comics ✨🤩✨

Beware of offers. Tapas is wonderful 😊. Nice community and wide range of comics. However this new update’s complete offer page seems dodgy .I’m pretty sure I just fell for a scam and my rewards aren’t being delivered after tasks😠. However nice work with ads and survey page. I just got more ads and survey now also give out awards even when not completed. Beware of the offer page, guys. Otherwise I think it has been greatly improved and would love to see more in the future.

Love it, but….. I loved Tapas. Unlike other apps, when you unlock a chapter, you stays unlocked forever. But now with the new update, they have taken that away. So chapters only stays unlocked for 2 day. (Really lucky that it doesn’t apply to already previously unlocked episodes) I still like them, but the old feature made them unique to other apps. I’m really disappointed. (Plus it is really hard to earn the ink to unlock the chapters forever)

I need help!!!. I absolutely love Tapas, but I tried to download my favourite series to read offline, but it kept crashing!!! I downloaded all the things I wanted to read and went to make sure they were completed, and started to read but crash. Crash after crash after crash. So I restarted the app, the phone and deleted to app trying to reset everything. Now I can’t even download the application! It’s asking me for a new method of payment, even though my card is completely valid. I made a PayPal account to try to bypass this problem but nothing worked. I don’t even understand why this is a problem, only with tapas. I need help, how am I going to survive without my comics?!?

I lost heaps of ink. I had just done a lot of surveys and when I go back onto the app after making over 4000 ink it wasn’t there. If tapas reads this please give me my well earned 4000 ink back. P.S I have proof

WUF??. Now, I love this app, I probably use it everyday but I’ve noticed that the 3 hour WUFs are now reverting back to 24 hour ones. For example, I’ve been reading ‘Solitary Lady’ on 3 hour WUFs but when I went back onto the app to see if I could unlock the next episode it was suddenly a 24 hour WUF. I noticed this with a lot of other comics and possibly novels (I don’t really read them as much). It would be nice if tapas could give us a warning before that happens, or at least bring back the permanently unlocking episodes like before the 3 hour WUFs came along. That’s all~

Very annoyed. Tapas is fine. It’s not the best but it’s also not the worst, but it’s always a 50% chance that whenever you go on it won’t work. I won’t bring up how as someone who’s in school and doesn’t have a job I can’t read more than half of the stuff on there without watching ads for a month for one chapter but I will mention how it crashes. Whenever you go on it’ll freeze and sometimes when you’re in the middle of reading it’ll freeze, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how annoying that is. I will still use it but I’ll use it reluctantly at the least.

Good stories but has bugs. Has a lot of great stories and creators but every so often when it updates I won’t be able to open the app for a couple of days to a week.

Great app, 5/5. Edited on 14th or June 2021 : Nice app, great for reading novel and comics on iPad. Wonderful novel and comics! The following bits should be improved before a 5/5 rating can be given 1. Dark mode on iPad isn’t working properly - On closing and re launching the app, dark mode is getting reset. - on opening a novel to read, the pages are not in dark mode and getting reset - This is fixed now. 2. Swipe left to go to next chapter need improvement, often while reading by mistake it gets moved to next chapter. But bigger problem is when I go back to previous chapter it starts from the top! It should remember where I left of! Looking forward to a more improved app experience ! - This is fixed now Thanks guys

Horrible. I was really looking forward to using this app but it just wouldn’t work for me at all 😭 couldn’t save any of the comics or download them, when I went to purchase coins (ink) it took my money but wouldn’t let me use them. It just kept telling me it couldn’t find anything when I went to search and to my own library sections….. and the help section was extremely unhelpful. I’m just gonna cry myself back to webtoon…..

Occasional log outs w/ bugs. Idk why. But for some reason my account seems to frequently log out. An it can become increasingly frustrating when there’s a bug (like right now) where it won’t log you back in at all. It will just sit there loading an refresh the log in page. Por favor fix. Would rate 5 star if it wasn’t for that

Changes without warning. The wait until free episodes have been changed from forever unlock to 72 hour unlock without notice in the new version. 72 hour unlocks are too short to actually get enough episodes to get into a series. Not a fan.

Problems with tapas. Tbh I actually quite like dis website coz I like how u can support the artist and I like the layout & design of the app however: - in order 2 get ink u can’t do survey or any offer coz u have 2 add in personal info + it doesn’t even work - everytime I’m reading 1 of the comic I instantly crash & end up having 2 reset my phone everytime - I found out dat the phone app doesn’t offer all the most updated & a huge variety compared 2 their other website on google - my messages & convo gets deleted after a while & its difficult 2 chat with the other community Honestly I’m only keeping the app coz I like the design I hope they will update & fix all the bugs soon

Forced me to log out. I love tapas it’s got such a great range of novels and comics but unfortunately recently all of a sudden they forced logged me out and ask the ink and novels I had read were no longer there I have spent so much money reading with tapas it really annoys me because I will have to buy all the novels and comics if I want to read them again which is such a waste of money. I hope this only happens to me but i will not be using tapas ever again

Ehhhhhh...... It’s and OK app but I would prefer (if authors agree) to have more FREE episodes and if it only asks for maybe 10 ink to unlock per episodes thats not in the 300’s or something like that. Please read and think about this suggestion because it will MOST LIKELY make the app more enjoyable! Thanks P.S. The free ink offers that give you 100 or so ink when you finish a survey does NOT work for me personally so I end up wasting alot of time on those in return for nothing. The app is great, however:. Whenever I enter Tapas it suddenly shuts down, I’m on a fully updated 6th gen iPad so it’s definitely not my iPad that’s lagging. Sometimes I can’t enter the app once but on other does I can’t go onto Tapas at all. I hope you take my review into serious consideration and I sincerely look forward to using this app more!

Love the stories, hate the app. I absolutely love the stories so much that I spend a ridiculous amount of money on ink. I like to support the artists. But I absolutely hate the app itself. It always crashes on me when I want to go to the next episode (even if I have a stable internet connection), I have to constantly log in as it logs me out all the time and the app will randomly stop working if I’ve been binge reading. It has happened to me so many times now that I am compelled to leave a review! Please fix this issue tapas. I enjoy the content but can’t stand using the app itself.

Buttons.. Your demo button doesn’t seem to wanna work the majority of the time despite the fact there are still ads available. And there will never be 30 video ads. I’m not talking hourly, I mean daily. But I have liked a few of the changes that’ve been going on, keep up the good work 👍

Amazing! Love it but.... It’s all amazing in all but it needs like whenever you get in on Tapas they should reward you like 100 inks for visiting the app everyday like the other apps, get what I mean? The app is really addicting and I get why they use ads to get free inks but I’m just suggesting that this should be added as well.

Good App but Problems with downloading. This is a really good app and I use it all the time. It’s got great stories and really cares about it’s creator community. However I have a problem where when I try download chapters, after a while it stops the app from working. The app crashes and whenever I try to access the app it crashes before I can access it. The only way I’ve been able to fix it is to delete the app and reinstall. Otherwise it’s a great app

Where my ink going?. Tapas is an amazing app with really great stories, BUT recently my ink has been disappearing around every week. I bought some and used it and had a left over of 1000 left and around the next few days it just disappeared, same issue happens with the weekly fortune cookie ink which is very annoying. I’m not sure if this is issue is just with me or it has happened to other people.

Won’t load. A few years back I gave this app a great review and I still stand by that at most but I have recently gotten a new phone, an iPhone. Since changing phones I have installed this app onto my new phone but it only works the first time round after exiting the app and trying to use it later it will not load, once I click on the app it opens for a split second before closing again. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled but this problem hasn’t gone away. Please tell me if there is any way to fix this, as this is my favourite and was my most used app.

Improve Your Advertising. tbh I never really liked tapas for its ink currency and I am an avid webtoon fan , but like one tapas ad showed up with a comic I DESPERATELY wanted to read, so I downloaded it and tried to find it BUT COULDN’T BECAUSE THE AD DIDN’T EVEN GIVE ME THE COMIC NAME. Like thanks for showing me a comic without any way to identify it and find it on the actual app ?????? Imagine a supermarket advertising a bag of chips outside the store and when you go to that supermarket there is no sign of it anywhere?? That’s how it felt like to me LOL ridiculous

Huge LGBTQI Comic Community. The app is quite organic and really easy to use, seamlessly switching between my phone, tablet and desktop, keeping track of where I’m up to in current issues. The REAL draw card is the extensive library. Endless Manga inspired volumes with hundreds of chapters and loads of more Indy-Style (less traditional, young creator) comics. There are queer stories of every colour of the rainbow (which is how I stumbled across the app). The censorship is pretty strict, even the “Mature” tagged issues show adult situations, but everything edited out between belly button and thigh. There are plenty of other places for that..! It’s a real life saver having something to read when you’re traveling, stuck waiting for someone or just chilling at home.

honestly my go-to for webcomics. tapas is an incredible platform and has a dedicated and innovative feature that directly helps it’s authors with its use of ink. the wait for free feature offers a way for those who can’t afford it to be able to read for free and is a great way to pace myself when reading. i’ve been using it for years to read manhwas and it never stops giving. i’ve found nearly all of my favourite manhwas here and simply cannot live without tapas my only critique is the removal of earning ink by watching ads. the new way is a lot more difficult, completing actions and surveys to earn ink is not only time consuming but also a bit invasive. there have also been times where i took time to complete a survey for ink and it crashed last minute thereby wasting my time. i’d prefer to bring back the option to earning ink by watching ads since it was easier on those who can’t afford to constantly buy ink.

App doesn’t work. Used to be my favourite app for reading comics. New update made the app crash after opening a comic for a few seconds. Please fix this issue.

Horrible Update. The new update is really inconvenient and of the most greedy updates for this app. Even though it’s good that only wait 3 hours (or, in the case for some, an entire day) to unlock a new episode, it’s only available for 3 days. l’d rather have the WUF format from before, where I’d wait a day (and up to a week for some) to unlock an episode permanently. I like to binge all at once, and I can’t imagine waiting 3 hrs to read one episode. Also, this new update sucks even more because it makes me lose track of which episode I’ve been reading - since the episodes close after the 3-day period. This update is just so greedy, basically forcing you to pay for ink if you want to read properly. I did buy thousands of ink, but I’m not going to use all of it to read one story (since one episode is so expensive at 300 ink). Going to use another place to read instead :)

BRINg back the watching ads. Edited: Please bring back the 30/30;watching ads

It used to be good. Now, avoid it.. I tried contacting them twice. They did not answer me yet and it's been 3 weeks. I went and paid for one of their Tapjoy offer and I did not receive the ink. I will be using the ink I have right now and when it depletes, I am deleting the app for sure. Oh, and the app has been extremely buggy and laggy for the past few weeks. Can't open the app properly without closing the app once and reopening it. I'll change my review if they finally answer my email and my request. Otherwise, DON'T SPEND MONEY IN THE APP AND SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS ON THEIR OWN PLATFORM LIKE PATREON OR SOMEWHERE ELSE! Don't give your money to Tapas. EDIT: They solved my problems and gave me the ink I was supposed to receive. But it took more than a month, that's why I put 4 stars.

Freezes. Every. Single. Time. Everytime I try to read the chapter freezes. I close the app and go back but as soon as I get to the spot I was at it freezes again. I can’t even get past the first chapter of a comic. PLEASE FIX THIS

Sad. Use to have the app that was before this it was the best manga app then they changed it to this and it became bad. What was easy and free to read and enjoy is now super expensive. Really wish they didn’t change the app and kept the old one it was so much better

Too many notifications. Turn off your notifications for this app or be prepared to be spammed by 5 or more notifications everyday.

New design. Edit: I change my mind, please bring back the old design. It’s so much harder to find the books I want now. I no longer have an easy to find button for which genre I’m feeling like reading and I hate it. Please change it back I gotta say, I quite dislike the new layout of tapas. It might just take awhile to get used to but I still don’t like it as much as the older layout. I’m also getting tired of the price changes and will forever be upset about the WUF no longer being permanent. At least the still have some good books though.

new layout sucks. it used to show me the series i was actually reading on the home page, but now it’s practically an ad for every series i DON’T want to read. and now my WUF notifications are for literally every single WUF series that exists, almost 300. i can’t possibly sift through every single one and delete them, which has now made it incredibly difficult to know when the series i am actually reading have updated. please fix this.

Gotten too expensive. I’ve been reading on tapas for over two years now and have consistently bought at $25 ink package once every month or two. At first the WUF episodes were permanent and then they made the available for 72 hours only. I was fine with that. Then they raised prices of each episode (by quite a bit) which I was also fine with seeing as how they gave us events where we could win ink. NOW they have made it impossible to earn ink on said events, have begun to change the WUF times from 3 hours to 24 hours and I am not longer okay with it. I will most likely be deleting this app is something doesn't change for the better and based on in app comments many faithful users will be doing the same. LISTEN TO YOUR USERS TAPAS OF LOOSE CUSTOMERS AND MONEY!!!

Keeps Crashing. I’ve been using Tapas for a long time, and I think it’s a pretty great app. But after the latest updates it keeps crashing almost every time I open the app, and it’s kind of frustrating because all I wanna do is read. Please fix the issue.

You can’t read for free. Webtoon is a much better app because you literally can’t read anything for free anymore on this app. You used to be able to get enough credits to read 1 free chapter a week but now the Monday fortune cookie doesn’t give you enough to unlock one. So unless you want to spend forever watching ads which don’t give you credits sometimes when they are supposed to or you want to pay a ton of money then don’t bother.

Why does it keep crashing. I downloaded a few chapters of my favourite graphic novel but when i go to my downloaded section it just crashes tapas please fix this the it would be a 5 star

A+. Let's see here what this lovely app has done for readers hmm. It's gotten rid of ways to get ink, increased the cost of ink for episodes, got rid of 3hrs wuf for new series, increased the cost for ink packages, made reading challenges impossible and unrealistic, put series on long hiatus and then forgot about those series, and doesn't even bother licensing the series that readers want in the first place. I’m sure there’s more but yea don’t waste your time and money.

Disappointing - From a paying user since 2020. Total trash. It is way to expensive and feels like a scam the entire time your trying to get ink by doing surveys, its not worth just google free manga sites instead

Earning ink. I can’t afford to buy ink so I would watch an ad or two to top up when I got some from reading events since the amount needed to unlock an episode is always more than I personally can get on the reading events, usually by like 50-75 ink. Watching ads is suddenly gone, tap joy is still there but I have never succeeded in getting tap joy to actually reward me even if I do exactly as it says. So I can’t earn ink anymore.

Freezes. The content is really good but sometimes I have trouble getting into the app. I open if then it freezes and jumps back out to my Home Screen :>

Needs better curation. Let’s be honest. The site is completely filled with generic anime/manga romance comics. It’s great that you can filter to just the genres you do want to see, but the site would be more functional if there were a way to find genuinely good stuff that’s been handpicked IMO.

Good, but unable to read. I really like this application, I love the people on it and the books. I give it a 5 stars review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. There is only one problem, I am unable to read. Each time I try to read a book, my screen froze. It’s been doing this for 3 days now. What’s weird is : it was working before. I tried to fix the problem, but it didn’t do anything. I even erased the application to download it right after, but it still didn’t work. I don’t know if it’s my wifi or Tapas, but I would be really happy if you tried to correct it. Thanks a lot!!

I don’t really like the new update. It doesn’t make me read more and I am read over 100 different story at the moment. I think it’s because of me having to go to my library every time I want to read a new episode. Like just tell me what’s new that day on the home page. That’s what I liked about the old page and if we can bring it back in some way that would be great

The earn ink by watch ads has disappeared. On my iPhone the means to earn ink by watching ads has disappeared mysteriously. Was this a bug in the update? Or did you intentionally drop that means of earning ink?

Terrible “Update”. Extremely disappointed with the removal of watching ads for free ink. Young people are your primary audience, and they’re exactly the demographic that doesn’t have much disposable income. Ads for ink was a great way for us to legally support creators even if we can’t spend hundreds of dollars on buying ink. This change hurts smallest creators the most and trying to sneak it in an “update” that only described it as “Bug fixes and improvements” was adding insult to injury. When your own consumers dread your next update, that should be something you take seriously. If/when the update is forced on my other device, I’ll have to find webcomics elsewhere.

Great comics but buggy app. I love the comics in this app, but my god is it buggy. I very often have to open and close the app multiple times for it to work. It seems the pop-ups make it break sometimes. I’ve spent a lot on Ink so I do hope it’s fixed.

To be completely honest, Webtoon is overall better. I find a lot of the stories on Tapas to be pretty tropey and a lot of the summaries sound very similar. The app also glitches a lot although it solves itself after opening and closing the app a few times. There also aren’t nearly as many free to read episodes as on Webtoon. That being said, it is much easier to get free ink than it is to get free coins on Webtoon as they offer you ink for completing surveys and watching ads. Overall it’s not the best app for reading webcomics but it still does have some that are worthwhile reads (hence why I still grudgingly use it). Check it out, see if there’s any stories that peak your interest, but personally I would check Webtoon out first (no I am not affiliated Webtoon, it’s just the other webcomic app that I have).

Too expensive - punishes loyal readers. I don’t know what’s been going on with Tapas in the last year, but they have upped the cost of episodes several times, gotten rid of methods of gaining ink (coins) to watch free episodes, and reduced the one tap bundle discounts. If you are looking for a webcomic app, bypass this one. If I wasn’t invested in several ongoing serials on here, I would have deleted it already. There are other webcomic apps that are way cheaper than tapas and have a good stable of comics/novels.

Can I give less than one star?. You get 200 coins to start. But unlocking a SINGLE EPISODE costs 225... and the episodes are generally pretty short. Then you have to do adds and promos to slowly gather coins or you pay a freakish amount of money to get more coins! This is ridiculous I'm sticking with webtoons...

It’s good if you’re patient. I feel that tapas is amazing an reading app. I really like how you can get ink from events and from visiting websites, or to go listening to Podcasts, maybe even a quiz.The only thing I don’t like about this arrangement is that I might spend about 30 minutes of my time for one podcast for only 28 ink that can’t even get me one episode or a half episode. I would like it if they raise their prices for the time they’re doing. I was also like if there were more options. More or so of the ink which you can get is like shopping or a subscription something that costs money. I am not buying ink because I cannot use money. so I would rather have more free options. But other than what I have described I feel like this is a really good app to read on with a bunch of different selections. Also, great art in the comics.

Extremely hard to track episodes now. I’m very close to deleting this app after 2 years. It has become extremely hard to track what you’ve already read vs. what you can read from the WUF episodes. - With the newest update, I can no longer track where I am in a story with “WUF” episodes because they lock again in a couple days. I’ve clicked on the same episode more than once, and most stories don’t even have episode titles so all I can go by is the tiny thumbnail with the episode number. - In the Library, the “wait until free” section became useless 2 or 3 updates ago. Almost all of of the stories I’m trying to keep up with say “read now,” so I have to actually click on the stories to see if a chapter is unlocked. Doesn't matter when a chapter is “up” because that doesn't mean a WUF chapter is always out. - With the newest update this becomes even worse, because when I now click on a story to see if I have any WUF epidoes, I end up clicking ones I already read and end up wasting my WUF for the day/week etc. How am I supposed to want to read anything anymore??

Ad quizzes are a ripoff. To read the comics you need to earn “inks”. I just spent 10 minutes on a quiz to earn enough inks to read only 2 chapters of a comic. At the end of it, I didn’t even get the inks because I didn’t answer enough questions correctly. What a load of bs.

Buggiest app I’ve ever downloaded. Comics are great - but if you can never read them because the app has so many bugs it doesn’t really matter does it? One of the majorly frustrating ones is that when you try to scroll through a chapter or episode it automatically jumps to the next chapter, and when you have one-tap on it’ll just go ahead and unlock the next episode for you without having been able to read the one you were on. Maybe if it’s a story you already decided to continue with it’s fine, but when I’m trying to find new series it feels like a scam. This isn’t the only bug, but definitely the most frequent and most frustrating, and its been going on since I downloaded the app. Maybe they are happy to cash in on the little points or “ink” we lose every time the bug hits or maybe they just don’t care about their user experience, but either way I’m frustrated they haven’t bothered to fix anything on this app for what feels like years now.

App keeps crashing. I really like tapas and the comics they put out, I even go on the app every day because I like the content a lot, so it is frustrating when the app keeps closing after a few seconds. It doesn’t require an update (according to the App Store). I’m using the new version. I have tried clearing cache, deleting and reinstalling and even restarting my phone but I keep coming across this issue where the app doesn’t want to stay open. All I want to do is read my manhwas :( Besides that, the other trouble I have is when I am in the middle of reading an episode, while scrolling it will jump to the next episode. This will happen either in the beginning of a chapter and I try to scroll (slowly) or in the middle or end of a chapter it gets annoying for manhwas that I am in the middle of reading. I don’t have this problem for the ones where I am reading the latest chapter. I don’t know what to do and I’m frustrating. The web version works but I don’t like using it, I’m annoyed.

Ink is too expensive. I think Tapas is brilliant in trying its best to support creators out there in their hard work making comics, and there are also many good comics to read on this app. That being said, I think the price of every episode for a comic is too costly. For someone like me, who cannot buy Ink with real money for personal reasons, the “free” Ink offers are not always the best, reliable, or very rewarding. The good offers that reward you the most Ink makes you purchase items, sign up for spam websites, or indulge personal information. I think that this system is very infuriating and I wish that there were some other ways, like showcasing ads inside the episodes like other apps (for example, Webtoon) do, instead of going to extra lengths just to gain access to one or two episodes of one comic. Also, I have had issues receiving the Ink for the offers I have completed according to the requirements. I completed an offer worth 1,024 Ink, but never received it. Overall, this app is definitely nice for creators and beautiful webcomics, but it is too expensive.

Problem. I love this app so much, but one day when I go onto the app and I go to the comics I go to the last one I read or so I thought. I realize something had happened and that I didn’t know what was doing on and I go back out and it says I skipped a chapter. I go to confused because I usually don’t do that and get really mad when I miss click. I go to read another and the same thing happens. It was happening to all the ones I was reading. It was super frustrating because I didn’t know which ones I had read and had not read. It would say I read two ahead of what I really did then I click on it and it be wrong. I really hope this gets fixed. It’s super frustrating and I have stoped reading on it. I literally refuse. I really want to read them though😭😭😭😭

Ink??. If I’m being 100% honest, I love this app and all it’s comics. I’m pretty new to it, yet it’s taken more of my money than any other app like it has lol. I also thinks it’s a brilliant way to support artists, even writers. I’d say my only problem is how quick they charge you with ink. Sometimes I don’t even know if I like a story yet, say I’m 3-5 episodes in, and suddenly I have to pay 300 ink. Another thing is, if you try to complete actions to get ink, sometimes it just doesn’t work. I find this happens more commonly, almost every time, with actions with higher rewards. Say I tap on something worth 250 ink- I complete it, and go back to the app. I don’t get the reward. I don’t mean to sound so greedy, I just find it really frustrating. I got things I wanna read, dang it XD. I also wish that episodes were easier to pay for? Every episode after the first few are always worth more than 300.

Stories are great but app needs work. As I’ve stated, love the stories. I actually feel compelled to spend on ink. However, the app’s functionality is lacking. I have an issue with the scrolling. I scroll diagonally, so when I have 1-tap on it scrolls to the next page but when you try to scroll back you get pushed out to the chapter. And when you try to get back into the chapter you were reading I either get sent to the beginning or the end (so you get partially spoiled). I honestly thing you should be able to toggle the swipe to next chapter option on or off. It just get annoying when you can’t go forward in a chapter because you keep getting sent to the next chapter mid reading. Not only that but when I do catch myself swiping and let go, the app just freezes and you can’t scroll anymore until you exit the chapter.

Just change the name from Tapas to Kakaotoon. Ever since Tapas was bought out by Kakao, which is a huge conglomerate in SK, they changed everything, starting from the original Tapas logo to company model. I mean this is not SK, OK? Your company is operating on international level using dollars!!! dollars!!! Most of the readers not from US have to convert their currency to US dollar and it costs more than it should. If you pathetic company still wants to operate globally, use your brain. Or better, let your customers buy your comics in KOREAN WEN rate. It will be a whole lot cheaper than dollars. Stop selling your comics in US $ using marketing method that would only work in Korea. That’s just plain greedy. For example, before there were all kinds of genres that were available on Tapas that would suit all of its readers taste, not just OI and Dungeons. Tapas was known for its “Watch ads for ink,” “Fortune Cookies”, “Wait Until Free”(completely free) and its daily reading challenge, which honestly was very easy like basically you didn’t have to force yourself to read just for a few ink unlike now.

Unreliable. DONT try and purchase anything through “tapjoy” because YOU WILL NOT receive the points. You would think that their customer support would be trusting too, nope instead they lie and say “ oh you have your points teehee congratulations!”. Like umm check my transactions history and see for yourself I DONT have my points I never received them, it disappoints because I thought this app would be different but nope. And you would think that customer support would have access to your transactions history but they dont ?? This NEEDS to change because why is there even a customer support then? What to lie to their customers and never get back to them? Because it seems thats their only purpose, I emailed them 2 and have not heard back at ALL, like wow thanks. And maybe if they would make it easier to read the stories I wouldn't be having these problems :/. But oh well right, just beware and pay close attention to your transactions history and rewards because I bet you they aren’t going to give you your points either.

Opinion on the new update. So I’ve had tapas for around a year or two now but with this update so much has gone wrong. While the stories are good the app freezes so much just like before, some thing won’t load and the whole having the wait for free episode but then they are only available for 3 days it really stupid. But that’s not the only problem. As someone who is to young to get a job so I don’t have money to buy ink but even worse to for me to even get the new update I have to pay nearly $20 for it. How do I know? Well I put in my cash app card as my payment card and I thought it was just saying oh you need to update your payment info but then I get a notification saying that my payment of $20 to apple play store failed?! Like I already have the app why are y’all trying to make me pay to update the app and then still making us pay to read the comics afterwards. It makes no sense. I sadly will not be using this app again which is sad because I had quite a few books or comics that I really liked to read.

Swiping. I love this app and the creators are really talented and stuff and it’s a great way to support them with the ink system. There are more offers now which I like that you added but one that really bugs me is the swiping when reading. It’s not a big issuse but there are times or almost every time I read something I would slightly swipe left or right and then it would go to that chapter. Then I have to go back to the one I was reading and then skip back to the spot I left off. There have been times where I did swipe right and I accidentally bought the chapter but so far it was a chapter that I was gonna buy anyway. It’s annoying and sometimes I do see spoilers so just maybe an option to remove that feature would just stop annoying me. Overall the updates you make are all really amazing and helpful and a amazing app that I find myself a lot.

Glitchy. I love this content this app has, but it so GLITCHY!!! Occasionally when I’m trying to scroll down the app decides to take me to the next or the previous page. Or it will take a really long time to notify me that I liked a post so I tap the heart again and then it will tell me I took back my like. I was fine dealing with the little stuff, every app has glitches; but today crossed the line. Tapas removed ALL of my subscriptions and likes. I lost all the progress on stories I’ve been reading since 2018. It’s not even showing me the progress bar on the episodes to give me a HINT as to where I left off. Stories I was saving for a “rainy day” (ie. when an author finishes a story I’m invested in and I want to keep reading) no longer exist. I had over 39 wait to reads that I’m probably going to have to start over on because of this and over 100 stories I will have to remember the names of if I want to keep reading them (which of course I did.)

No Other App Can Offer What Tapas Can. I believe my title through and through. I have many—MANY— comic apps on my phone, and there are only about two or three of them that I actually go to often. For me, Tapas wasn’t one of them. At FIRST. I fell in with WebComics, and I still am even though it’s “kid-friendly.” But when I downloaded Tapas, it was because of a story on Wattpad that had been developed into a comic on no other app besides Tapas. It wasn’t intended when I started browsing the other comics I saw, but most of them had something that I personally feel a lot of comic apps don’t have—originality. I won’t say that the comics were bad, but when many authors decide to create a story based off of someone else’s ideas, then it gets boring. WebComics has many stories like that, but I didn’t see that here. I was very interested in the novels once I had read some of the comics.

Good content but the app constantly has bugs. It seems each update gets rid of one bug only for another to appear. Maybe they just don’t even test bug fixes before releasing the app, who knows. Last time the issue was that chapters wouldn’t show up when you first clicked them, so you had to go back to the main page for the comic then click on the chapter a second time for it to appear. Now the issue seems to be that it spends a REALLY long time figuring out that I am actually logged in and either does not load the list of chapters, or it loads the list but won’t load the actually chapter when you click on it. Just a grey screen shows up. With Tapas, you never know when you suddenly won’t be able to read any comics anymore. Which is the entire point of the app. This happens EVERY update for years to the point where I only ever update if there’s a major issue because updating might just break it more. Content is good. Easy to get ink to unlock chapters and free chapters are common. Useless when you can’t read them though!

I keep getting signed out of my account…. I love dozens of the stories supported through Tapas. I’ve spent a couple hundred dollars, respectively, on the app in order to read some of my favorite comics and have been patient with the app thus far. This however, has become more difficult. The app will freeze regardless of the quality of my device’s connection with internet services. From time to time, a payment will take a few tries to completely go through and finally, the app will completely log me off of the app entirely if I try to read a comic too fast. To be clear, it will sign me out while I am still using the app, prohibiting me from continuing my story’s progress without paying the app to unlock the episode. If I could receive help or the app could somehow be updated to remedy this, I would gratefully change my review score but until then, I will continue trying to use the app.

After the recent update it’s easier and more intuitive to use other apps. The most recent update made it so that chapters are no longer permanently unlocked when you use wait for free. They now start open for only 3 days, but there is no way to tell which ones have previously been unlocked, so I have unlocked several chapters multiple times trying to find the next chapter. Tapas used to be the best application, but since there is no longer permanent unlocking without coins, there are several apps that do the same thing while making it easier to track. Tappytoon has the same unlock time, but it’s easier to keep track of what you’ve already read in that app. Pocket Comics app keeps chapters unlocked for a week and displays which ones have been previously unlocked. Some of the same comics from Tapas can be found on these other apps so it’s much more convenient to read elsewhere now. Tapas used to be my default app, but now I’ll probably just read the exclusive stuff I can’t find elsewhere, and use other apps for the rest.

Good App, and Great Company?. Edit: I changed my review to 3. Tapas changed their WuFs to temporary unlock, now they are like everyone else. Their WuFs made it so I wanted to throw money at them, keep caught-up and complete comics that I got hooked on through WuF. Now there is no reason to favor platforms, especially since my time is now restricted. I’m so disappointed. Original: I have a comic addiction, so of course I have practically every app that helps enable this addiction. I feel that Tapas is one of the best for free and premium comics. I like how their missions and dailies liberally give the currency used to unlock episodes. I also love how you can support the creators directly by donating the same currency. I actually *want* to throw money at them. I hope they do indeed treat their content providers as well as it appears they do, as I love to support them, and the platform that they can thrive on.

Wait For Free and Lost Progress. I love tapas and the stories they have but I have a problem with the “Wait for Free” feature. While I don’t mind waiting many of the stories I read say they have a free chapter for me to read when they actually don’t due to them not have 7 chapters ahead of the free chapter. As well as I like to pick up and read when I can (not everyday) but with the “Free for only 72 hours” I end up rereading a chapter because there no indication (also I can’t remember) on what chapter I left off at. So then I’m waiting another 24 hours to 2 days (depending on the story) trying to either remember what chapter I left off at or playing a guessing game. I’m just frustrated as I’ve reread the same chapter 4 times now and have to open the app everyday just to keep track of my chapters.

Its a very good app but…. I very much enjoy reading on this app and i love how there are comment sections to share and read your and others opinions, but recently i have been having a problem, tapas randomly takes my ink, Im not sure if its because i dont spend it fast enough but tapas took about 770 ink from my account within 2 days and i never get it back, just today i had 470 ink and just an hour later i had 0! Im not sure if its happening to other but im very upset about this because i pay for this ink and im sure i dont spend it because i like to read all the WUF episodes and then i spend it, but otherwise its a very good app just a few glitches and bugs. In other words i definitely recommend it, one of the big reasons i love this app because of the community unlike manta you can have conversations with others through the comments.

New version needs work. I’ve used this app for quite a while and there have been some bugs that seemingly never got fixed but with the new app style a new one came up that is a larger inconvenience than others. I have a lot of comics that I read however some are on the backburner for now so when I would open the app I would automatically see which comics got updated in the “Continue Reading” section with the backburner ones left out due to me toggling them as hidden. The section was also almost the first thing I see when opening the app. Once I read the comics and refresh the page by scrolling up the comic is then removed from the “Continue Reading” section. Now with the new app, I have to scroll further down to see it(minor inconvenience). The comics displayed however are not the updated comics from the day but from the previous day. They also are not removed once you’re all caught up with the comic. So, in order for me to located the updated comics I now have to go to my library, click subscribed, then filter to updated and sort through the ones that I am currently reading vs the backburner comics I am not currently reading. This is a pretty big inconvenience considering the extra steps necessary to get the convenience that I had before this new app version. I wish I could revert to the older version, so if you haven’t updated yet. Don’t.

Fantastic library of webcomics, utterly garbage app. Do not download this app. Go to Tapas’s website to read their amazing library of licensed/regionalized and original webcomics. The webcomics are fantastic. Some of the best on the web. The app, however, is pure trash. Want to read a comic? Well, it won’t load. Not even when you’ve paid for it. And when an image finally loads, the app will crash. Want to leave a comment or comment in a thread? Well, the app will freeze and crash. Clear out your cache over and over and over. Close and restart the app. The app will still not load images, still lag, still freeze, still crash. There are many other webcomic apps that do not have these chronic problems with each and every update. They load just fine, they let you comment just fine. Only Tapas consistently has these problems, version after version. Tapas is choosing to put out a garbage product. Do not download the app. Do not buy ink on the app. Just don’t touch it. It’s forever malfunctioning, every update. Do not waste your time on this app.

Great app, but as of August 2020 needs serious work.. First and foremost, tapas is a good app when operable. I love reading free comics online and check the app nearly daily to see new updates on the comics I follow. However, there are two enormous problems with tapas and these problems are forcing me to use the app a lot less than I used to. Firstly, tapas only works about half of the time. I’m not sure if this is because I’m on mobile (iPad), but whenever I open the app nothing loads. I’ll sometimes get the error messages “you are not connected to the internet” or “something went wrong”, but I know for a fact that the problem is not with my device or my WiFi connection. Secondly, it is nearly impossible to find any sort of non- featured, non- monetized new comics. I can’t find a single search bar on the app, and almost all of the clickable comics on the main page are pay to read. I know the app needs money to run but even if you know the title of the comic you’re looking for it’s almost impossible to find it.

Great content, app could be better. Ok so I cannot praise this app enough to for its content! Content wise Tapas is that girl! They give us a variety of content various manhwa and they even give us cute free content and allow creators to submit and that’s all so dope. Here’s my issues:The app isn’t great and it makes me sad cuz the content quality is what keeps me here. The website could also be better because it’s kind of clunky the same way the app is. Sometime those pop up for events show up on every other page and it’s very annoying. Also my biggest gripe is the lack of the ability to buy in bulk unless a title is on sale. I am an avid reader. If I find a series I like I’m going to buy the whole thing but tapas makes me buy each chapter individually and it’s so annoying. Write Some Noise!!!. I got the Tapas app a few years ago—maybe it was last year, but I can’t remember—and I went a while before checking out some of their offerings. Boy do I deserve a kick in the keister for that! Manhwa such as The Two Sides of the Princess and Karina’s Last Days have sucked me in, and happily so, I might add. It doesn’t just have manhwa, though—they also have written novellas, if that piques your interest. And the Ink system is no slouch, either! You start with a limited amount at first, but you don’t necessarily need to buy more, so it’s a fair bargain. There are also challenges that you can tackle to accumulate more Ink. If you’re patient, you can access the next chapter of a series each day. Honestly, the whole experience, from the collection of stories to purchasing power, is unbelievably impressive! Highly recommended!

Freezes so much!. I love this app- I love that there are ways to directly support authors you love without having to pay! Theres a good selection of series and for the most part the UI and everything is perfectly fine. BUT for the past few months, half of the time I open a comic to read it, it’ll freeze before I can scroll down to the bottom of the page, and even when i restart the app it tends to freeze over and over again, no matter what comic I read or how fast I try to scroll to the bottom just so I can read the pages. I do love this app but it’s the MOST INFURIATING thing, i often have to wait hours if not days after a series I like gets updated before I can read the updates because every time I try to read it just freezes and I rage quit trying to get it to work. This never happens on the main page or in my library, only on comic pages.

Freezing/crashing. So I absolutely love tapas, however, when trying to read brand new novels like Danielle by Seiya Megumi, the chapter goes blank. Sometimes I can go back or forward to the next chapter. However, when I go back it just takes me to the episode select I go back in the chapter and it crashes again. If I go forward to the next chapter, the chapter is blank. This is absolutely frustrating. If I keep going in and out to attempt to read it, the whole screen turns black and freezes and I have to completely shutdown the app. This also has happened on a few comics like s-morshita cinnamon comic series she just released a new chapter. Or the newest update of multiple comics I read like apathetic boyfriends, reversion, and a few others. It’s extremely frustrating and makes me wonder at the fairness of new authors trying to get their stories out there. People won’t keep trying to read something if it keeps crashing.

Grew to love. I didn’t like it at first. The prices seemed a bit much. And, the history list seems a bit short in my opinion. And it freezes at least once everyday or other day. However, I grew to love the app. The selection of stories are pretty good and they have new ones come out very often. They also have a pretty good selection for the wait for free stories. And unlike other apps when you open a wait for free episode, it doesn’t not have a 48 hrs time limit. All opened episodes are available the entire time the story is a wait for free. So you don’t have to worry about losing your place. Also, the prices for ink may seem high but they have sales often. I am a fan of this. They have flash sales on the ink as well. Though the price brackets are basically the same for the flash sales, the amount of ink you get jumps dramatically. It makes the price brackets really worth it for me.

New Update. Yes, there’s some new mechanics that the new update had brought to us, like the library. I don’t dislike the new way you find comics, but I also don’t entirely love it either. You can find your comics more easily, they’re put into different area base on what you, the read, has marked them under. For example, an episode you liked would just go into to liked category, the ones with just updates will go to their special category, and so on and so on. I enjoy that because you can, once again, find thinks you most wish to pick. The only thing I dislike like is how thy changed the comic listing. When I opened up the comic tab to view all of the comics I’ve saved, I was expecting the comics to be in a 3 comic row (I’m on a phone). But once I had opened it up the comics were in ones straight line, and for people like me that have saved many comics, it’s just hard looking for the one you want to read. Personally I don’t need why that update was required other than fixing some minor bugs

Excellent. There’s so many stories with so many different genres to choose from. I really like this app because a lot of regular artists can set motion to comic ideas they’ve had without much hassle and out to a wide audience. Also, I like how this app has such a huge collection of comics and stories to choose from; I love web comics and I’ve always found it hard to find western web comics all in one place without having to physically go to the website the comic is on, nothing wrong with Manhwas or Mangas but I’ve been reading those for years, western comics deserve attention too. By far, this has to be my favorite web comic service/app ever. Oh! I also want to add that while also containing a multitude of western comics, there are also plenty of Asian comics on there as well. Like I said, this app is really great.

72 Hour limit on WUF is horrible. I’ve had this app for years and have loved it. With the new update limiting the amount of time each WUF episode is unlocked, it has gotten incredibly difficult to enjoy a story for 2 reasons: 1) There is no way to tell if you have previously unlocked a WUF episode. So if you’re reading a series that has a 3 day wait on new episodes, good luck. I keep unlocking the same episode thinking I haven’t read it yet. If this wait time sticks around, please add something to indicate when you have already unlocked the episode before. 2) Once I catch up to the last WUF episode it takes a week until the new release for me to get to read the next episode. When you’re reading multiple series its incredibly difficult to remember the episode you read a week ago. It was a much better experience when I could go back to the previous episode for a quick refresher. Now I have to try to piece together what was happening before while reading the current episode

My favorite manhwa app. I love so many things about this app. First, the selection and variety of manhwa is incredible. There is something for everyone. Second, I love that there are different ways to get ink—contests, the fortune cookie, buying them, and earning them through offers and surveys. It’s awesome that through the offers, I can receive ink as well as products I love (and can keep for myself or give as gifts). However, my FAVORITE thing about this app is the sense of community. I love reading the comments after each episode and knowing that other people feel the same way as I do. It’s also awesome to see the same people commenting on many other manhwas and knowing we share the same love for the same manhwas. I’m so glad I found this app!

Annoyed at the new feature. Tapas Ive used you for almost 3 years now and throughout it all it’s been amazing no complaints, I loved how it was easy to get ink the WUF and the comics. It was easy to binge comics and they always brought in great new ones when they had events you were so different from the others and I loved it but this new update has TO GO. The new feature that has a set time limit before relooking the chapter is annoying, while I get why you did it—to get people to spend more money on the ink— it’s still annoying and hard for the people who don’t have/want that money to spend (like me) the three hour method isn’t good enough either if anything you should make the WUF a week for each comic cause I’m willing to wait if the chapters stay open. What if one of the WUF are a week long I can’t go back to the previous chapter cause 72 hours have passed. I think this new feature is annoying and pointless and will just make you loss people instead of gain.

Love the app but it’s not perfect and here’s why.... So I’ve had this app for years and I really love that you don’t have to pay for everything. You can get free ink by watching adds (wouldn’t recommend surveys) and completing offers and it’s nice that sometimes they have special day were you get more ink (like coins for other apps like this) than normal. If you don’t get your ink which doesn’t usually happen for me it may have happened twice sense I’ve gotten it. I provided screenshots of me doing the offer and they checked the system or whatever and I received the right amount no harm done. But recently I’ve been having problems with it freezing and just kicking me off. I’ve been trying to read the same chapter for a while and it kicks me off. I try to get back on and it just freezes and I have to get off of it again and I do this over and over to just read one chapter that isn’t even that long. If your impatient this might not be the best thing for you at least until they fix it.

Freezing!!. I’ve had the app for a couple years (2 or 3?) now I believe, and it’s worked pretty well before but with the new update it freezes CONSTANTLY. When I open a comic, I can scroll maybe two panels if I’m lucky before it freezes and I have to quit the app and reload it. With that I loose my progress in the chapter and have to try to scroll down to where I was, but then it freezes, usually around the same place. Sometimes I can see a couple more panels, but it freezes so I have to quit the app which looses my progress. The app also has trouble staying logged in and loading. There’s been quite a number of times where my library doesn’t load at all, so I have to restart the app which helps, but not all the time. There are so many wonderful comics on here, so kudos to the authors. The app is jacked right now though. However, using the web version seems to work just fine. The app’s current functionality is honestly quite frustrating, and I hope the developers fix this.

the app has gotten borderline unusable. let me start by saying tapas as a website is okay. it ain’t what it used to be. it’s not all comics anymore, there’s BOOKS now, which, not my thing but branching out is fine there’s still plenty of comics. a lot of the comics are behind a paywall which is really annoying. but there are other ones that aren’t still so that’s not the biggest complaint for me, just an annoyance. my complaint is the APP ITSELF. it freezes and/or crashes CONSTANTLY. sometimes i’ll be able to make it through a few pages before it freezes, but usually it’s. every. single. page. and then i have to close it and reopen it. this happen on both my phone (iphone 7) and my ipad (i have no idea what generation. a newer one but not the newest). it’s annoying. it’s unbearable. i can use it in browser fine but the app IS set up in a way that’s much more pleasant to navigate, when it works. which it rarely does lately. it’s honestly one of the worst app functionality experiences i’ve ever had. i really hope they fix it but it’s been like this for a while.

Freezing and shutting down. The app keeps freezing and shutting down WHILE I’m reading a comic. This problem has been going on for a few months now and I had this app for 4 years with no trouble up until recently. I’d barely open a comic episode and it suddenly stops and freezes my whole screen and the only way for me to get out of it, is to exit the app by pressing on my home button on my iPhone. And it’s happening on ALL my comics that I’m reading. Not even just that, when I login into the app, I’ll wait a moment for it to load and nothing pops up, no comic series, nothing but a small window saying that “something is wrong with the internet connection” and “whoops looks like something is wrong” when in fact, I’ve have amazing internet connection for many many years with no problems with anything. Tapas needs to majorly fix this problem they’re clearly having on their end because this is getting ridiculous.

A few things to improve.... Well, since I’m here, and the “give us feedback” in the app won’t let me send anything, I might as well get these all out there... Getting very frustrated with the notification settings! I only want it to notify me when the series I’m following is updated, and instead it keeps sending me other things. I’ve gone into settings and turned off everything but the new episodes notification, and then a while later I get a notification for something I’d turned off. I load the app again and check settings, and everything’s turned back on! Please fix this! The other thing I find really annoying is that there is nothing to tell you which comics are free and which require coins to get past a couple of episodes. I know the coins are to help the creators and that’s fine, but we readers should at least be aware of if we’re going to have to pay to read or not before we get into the story.

Amazing! Download this app, reading lovers! :). This app is affordable for anyone who enjoys reading. It also allows many opportunities to earn inks easily for free to people who lack money to buy inks for each chapter. I have spent more than a month using this app and I'm more than satisfied with the results I've been given. At first, I thought I had downloaded something useless since I do not have the money to buy items often. However, after I tried for a while longer, I got used to the app and learned that I could make use of the “earning” people are capable of having. I was ecstatic, the satisfaction of being able to read again made me happy since I hadn't been able to read anything for free online about lots of unnecessary work.

Best thing thats happened to me.. i discovered Tapas over the website and multiple specific comics, as i noticed they were all on the same platform. Comic reading is my passion, and Tapas makes it easier to do that. unlike many people, i really like the coins system, as i have read whole stories by just watching ads. but its sad how it keeps getting less and less. first it was around 26 coins, then it was 21 (and sometimes 100? that was a glitch that made me happy haha) and then it decreased to 12 and now its 10. now, i get that you need more money, and i support that, but seriously? do i have to watch 36 ads for a chapter? but now, Tapas is a part of my LIFE. i go on it daily, and if not, the next time for even longer. As a somewhat fellow artist its become my DREAM to work with all those amazing artists on Tapas. sadly, though, theres currently a bug for me where i cant do anything other than going to my library, because it crashes. if i click on the Mail, it crashes. if i click on a story in my library, it crashes. i hope you can fix this soon, as its making me sad not to be able to read my daily dose of comics. thank you very much for reading , and have a great day/evening/afternoon.

New user platform (was my favorite). I originally loved tapas for their user friendly platform and promotions. They offer wait until free and ad based currency called ink to unlock more chapters. I deleted my account and removed the app because of their BIG change. They reduced the amount of ink given, took away permanent unlocks. You will no longer be able to reread a chapter unless you want to wait until free (WUF) again. The WUF is a week long for a majority of series, so not being able to refresh yourself is not beneficial to the reader. It may cause a lack of interest in the story if you can’t remember what happened. They also force you to pay for the last 50+ chapters of a finished series. So it is harder to enjoy the series nearing the end. If you are a binge reader, Tapas is no longer for you. I am sad to leave and will try to find other publications of those really good stories.

App stopped working. I’ve been using the Tapas app for about 5 years, across multiple iPhone models, and it has been a bit slow sometimes but usually worked eventually. However, a couple months ago, it stopped working entirely. It continued to send me notifications for new episodes but when I clicked into them it would get stuck on the loading screen. If I opened the app, I would see the home page exactly as I it had looked the last time I actually read something, no matter how many times I closed and reopened the app. Trying to click into any comic would show black and grey boxes and not load anything. This persisted for a couple months as I vaguely hoped that an update would eventually fix this issue. Today, I finally decided to delete the app and reinstall. Instead of fixing the problem, it actually made it worse. Now nothing will load. The main page is just a black screen with a loading symbol at the top. I can click into the settings page but it won’t let me log in. I’m way behind on all my comics but I’m too frustrated to care. Guess it’s just Webtoon from here.

Help out tech support please!!. Ever since i updated the app it now freezes and kicks me out when i open the app! I don’t know whats wrong but I really want to read the new one that came out today please fix it!🙏 Update: its been about three days and it still is not functioning. I have money on there please fix it I’m beginning to get a little frustrated over this. This is my favorite app so I can’t unwind at the end of the day anymore... Update 2: It has been 5 days now since the collapse of the app’s functionality. I have seen no signs of trying to fix the issues so far, and frankly am losing the faith i had in this app. I loved the app but if they do not plan on fixing the issues i may never use tapas again. The website is more expensive and you can’t get the free episodes so if thats what we have to use to read from tapas now it is no longer one of my favorite apps to read from. Its a shame because i think they really had something before they futzed with the wait til free time limits and broke the app.

love the app but.... I really love the app and how it’s been able to show me creators and their comics from all over the world but the app keeps crashing. I don’t know if this is just me but if I use the app for too long (around 20 minutes) it crashes. It also crashes whenever I want to rotate my phone to read the comic horizontally, and recently it’s also started to freeze my phone and crash whenever I use the app for a long time (about an hour). I’ve stopped using the app as much because it’s just gotten annoying at this point. That’s not the only thing either, more than once the app has logged me out of my account for no reason. I’ve had to log in multiple times and even then the app would sometimes say that my account doesn’t exist. I love what tapas does for readers and creators but I can’t read anything when the app is being so annoying. Please fix this soon.

Too many ads for so little. Since I don’t really like to spend any money on apps, I usually watch ads to get free coins. But the thing is I feel like you barely earn anything by watching them on this app. You can watch up to 4 ads for just one click to watch the ad. But, the most you can make by watching ads is 17 coins (if you watch 4 in one click) but sometimes it’s just 10 coins. It takes 250 coins to read only one episode. Which means you have to watch about 20ish ads just to read one episode. Also, the episodes tend to be really short but I feel like the artist can’t really help it. The comics are very good and interesting but I feel like people like me (who can’t spend money on apps) have a less of a better time on the app. Some episodes are free but not all of them. It took me 2 days to read one episode because sometimes the app doesn’t even let you watch any plus I get really bored of it so I stop. So in my opinion I like Webtoon more since it’s free and, like Tapas, the comics are amazing. But Tapas is still a good app.

Love the various comics but needs a new function. Good morning I love the different categories of comics produced by its creators and I think comics, novels and everything I forgot to mention are beautifully crafted. I wanted to ask if a function or button could be created to unlock all the available comics that the user is already subscribed to because I read over 30 different comics on daily on this app. I have to constantly touch each individual comic that I subscribed to in order to unlock an episode. It’s not like the function stacks so if I miss two days of daily comics then I only get to read one comic. The function doesn’t stack. Please think about it and I apologize if I sound rude. Update broke “Continue Reading”. I don’t want to see what I’ve already read, but what’s next for me to read. Luckily the webpage continue reading algorithm is still correct. I’ll be reading on the webpage till they fix the app. I’ve been trying to look for what I am reading in the daily updates page, and it sort of works (I love the new daily updates section because it does make it easier to find new stuff or pick back up on old comics when I’ve run out), but finding my daily reads in the very large list is really hard, especially since I read multiple genres. Takes way to much of my lunch break finding what I’m reading rather than reading updates. I sent a feedback email, but the most recent bug fixes update didn’t fix the home page continue reading, so now I’m leaving a review. Tapas is great. New home page/continue reading on this app, not so much (also the new covers don’t look as good).

Buggy and Not Reader Friendly. Well, I HAD a well-written and extensive review about how the app is buggy, crashes, its events don’t actually give you rewards half the time, and they recently changed their daily passes to a far inferior design, but that review got deleted by the system when I misclicked on the stars again. Lovely. Essentially: the only reason to use this app (the daily Wait Until Free passes had the episodes stay unlocked forever) has been changed to only allow 72 hour access. That’s worse than Webtoon, which at least gives you two weeks. Considering how they often extend the number of episodes that are locked behind a paywall (you can start a series and see that the latest eight episodes are locked, and over a few weeks that can shoot up to the latest ten episodes being locked), making the WUF passes only 72 hours is awful. You can’t easily catch back up. Yes you can say that ink is available through promotions and events, but the events don’t actually give you the promised rewards half the time, and the best promotions require you to make a purchase on another website. The authors most likely see pennies of the deals cut to get that ink, free users are still providing valuable ad and app data that generates money, and overall Tapas has given me scummy vibes for reader experience. If you’re going to use this app, don’t read the comics that they spotlight. Stick to the smaller authors and donate directly to those authors instead.

App issues constantly!. I love the stories offered, and follow quite a few, but the app functionality is awful. I have to restart the app usually several times to even get it to load, and then sometimes it won’t even let me login. For some reason the login button doesn’t work 90% of the time (as in it doesn’t even recognize that I push it), and if I try to go through a different route to login it will just continually keep trying, but never actually do it. It doesn’t matter if I’m hooked to Wi-Fi, 5G, LTE, whatever it doesn’t matter. I have an iPhone 12 for crying out loud, so somebody really needs to fix these issues that it seems many of us are complaining about! I will raise my rating to five if the problem is ever fixed, but continually fighting with the app just to get it to load or to log in is definitely not five star quality!🤦🏼‍♀️

Went downhill fast.. Used to love this app and couldn’t wait to read my stories after work, but recently it’s gotten really bad and customer support is a joke. Did the Panera offer for 1600 ink and never received the inks even though it says credited contacted support and they tell me to contact the offerwall’s support instead but there is no way to do so. On top of after getting aggravated at their lack of support I purchase some ink ( I know that was a stupid move) and got the alert that a comic I was reading had a new episode clicked on said notification and unlocked the episode and the app crashes. I reopen the app to find the episode was not unlock and tried unlocking it again, app crashes a second time. This time after reopening the app I check my history and they deducted 300 ink twice for the episode and it’s still LOCKED contacted support about it but the person on the other seem like they didn’t even read my ticket as they are still telling me to contact the offerwall about the Panera offer when nowhere did I mention that in my second ticket. I’ve totally given up on them as it’s no worth the frustration.

Love it, but. There are a bunch of comics that I enjoy reading on this app, and I don’t really mind the WUF system, though I preferred when the wait time was longer and the chapters were unlocked permanently. I like being able to earn free ink by reading new series and other challenges. Some things that I wish were different: sometimes I’ll accidentally swipe left or right while scrolling through a chapter and it will automatically unlock it if I had a free coupon for that series, which makes me sad to waste them because I like saving them for later. A lot of comics go on hiatus for months at a time, and there are a couple that I’m subscribed to that are currently 6-8 months long. There aren’t really any updates between the initial hiatus and when the series returns, so it feels like you’re left in the dark and kinda makes you doubt if there will be any more updates. I understand if the source comic itself has an extended hiatus, but sometimes the original will be completed and the Tapas version is still paused. I wish the hiatuses wouldn’t be so long, or if there was at least more communication about when to expect the series to return. All in all, there are a lot of comics that I really enjoy reading on Tapas, and I want to support them by reading the licensed versions, but it can be frustrating at times.

Great app but it keeps disconnecting from the internet.. It’s not a problem of speed, I’ve checked with other apps on my phone. Basically I’ll be reading comics then all of the sudden I’m met with a grey screen and nothing will load. I can go back to the comic menu, but opening the comic again or trying to restart the app doesn’t help. Sometimes comic descriptions won’t even load, once I was even double charged ink of an episode I was trying to unlock. Before you ask, yes I did clear my cache, I even signed out and signed back in. Sometimes it will work then all of the sudden it chokes again and acts like I don’t have an internet connection. At first I thought it was my Wi-Fi so I turned it off however the problem still persisted. The only thing I haven’t tried is to delete the app an reinstall it. Honestly, I don’t get it, when I first installed the app a few months ago it worked great, but now I keep running into all these problems and its frustrating. Pls fix this, I really like this app, also I have comics to read dammit!
