Seems to work, but.... It seems to work and the interface is easy. I like to App’s ability to learn and auto classify frequent drives. However, much like a previous user’s review, I too am seeing a discrepancy in the accuracy and missing drives. The locations it identifies are not always accurate which makes it difficult to identify the actual location where the software picked up the Start or End of a drive. This a serious credibility issue. My second complaint is the inability to categorize personal charity drives. I work with different charities MileIQ prohibits assigning a deductible $ amount for separate charity. The user can create a separate listing for each charity, but is not allowed to assign the mileage rate. Even though the total mileage is tallied, the user must do the math manually at the end of each month or at the end of the year. But isn’t that the point of the having the App do the work? I do a lot of charity work and the App forces all charities to be grouped under the title of “Charity” if the user wants automatic mileage calculations for IRS Tax purposes. I have discussed this with customer support several times and they don’t appear to care. Makes me wonder if they actually understand how it works in the real world of small business and tax codes.

Good Luck. Missing several trips every day. I've used this for 17 months. I referred my friend who cancelled it immediately cause he paid close attention to his drives. I decided to check myself. Well, he was right. Not sure how many thousands of dollars I lost last year on taxes. Go back to pen and paper. Lazy will cost you big time. It says it tracks drives over half a mile. Well, I'm losing those half mile stops as well as many of them that are several miles. Just went through my drives and found 2 discrepancies within my first two hours of work."UPDATE" 9/5/17 Day two in a row. It shows a stop at 9:16am and the next starting point 10:38am about 20+ miles away. I made 3 stops between that time period. About 7 mile drives. I don't want to hear about being my phone service. If anyone in the world lost service for more than 8 seconds they'd pull over and freak out till it's fixed. Never mind 1.25 hours in the middle of town. If you make many stops like myself you can very simply check accuracy and making sure all your stopping points are also your next starting point. I don't ever make a big deal out of things, but at this rate I'm probably out about $7,500 worth of mileage last year and more this year. That's a big deal for anyone. I will continue this week and after every stop I will make sure I have a solid 5 bar internet connection before starting my drives. If there's a single day of accuracy I will update this again on Saturday this week.

If you’re looking for less work, this may not be it. My boss said use it, so I am. We were still logging miles on paper. Service company where my home is my office, start and stop point for the day. I know the mileage to most of my customers and this app is accurate about half the time. If you make a detour stop along the way, make sure the app knows. I went out of my way to pick up parts and then to the customer site. MileIQ listed the direct mileage of 37 from home to the customer, when I actually drove 58 miles. I had to delete the trip and create two new ones to even get close. It does not seem to use the gps during the trip, it just seems to record the location when you stop for more than a few minutes. So it might see you stopped for a long train, but you could go 50 miles out of your way for coffee and the extra miles might never be recorded. Also, something weird happened yesterday. I went to a customer in the city, then to one in the suburbs. MileIQ said I stopped on the freeway several miles outside downtown and then turned around a few hours later and went from the same location on the freeway to the second customer.

Not great for multiple older vehicles. My wife is a solopreneur with one vehicle and she loves this. I’m using it for my business this year, and it’s just a pain. Especially when there is more than one vehicle in use at a time and different people driving. I use one vehicle for commuting and another while at work. I have to manually classify most drives and change the vehicle on many. Then you have to remember who was driving which vehicle, etc. And then after work I have to delete any drives or rides in somebody else’s car. I honestly think the old mileage books are less work if you have multiple vehicles, where you have a separate book for each. Apparently there is a way to have the app recognize the vehicle using Bluetooth, but this only works on newer vehicles. If I only had one vehicle to keep track of, I think I’d love it, too, but it’s just a lot more work when you have multiple vehicles.

Misses a lot short legs. DISCLOSURE TRANSPARENCY: MileIQ gave me 12 months upgraded to full version for free. This was in the hopes that I would recommend it to my business clients. I could do this with serious reservations. Bottom Line: The app misses most trips or legs of trips under 1.5-2 miles and self-admits to not work under 1 mile. Also: The free version wont really do anything for anyone actually driving regularly for business (the free "trips" are just too few. Is it worth the $60/year? Maybe. You wont be able to rely on 100% accuracy but the functionality is good and personalizable, it does really work in the background without having to think about it, and it will give a good log of all the miles it does track which is a good since as anyone who has been to an IRS audit with a missing or bad auto miles log will lose their deductions. Hopefully MileIQ improves the accuracy in picking up the shorter trips. UPDATE: MileIQ was sold to Microsoft a few years back. It’s definitely more accurate these days and has become a good app for tracking your miles.

Very helpful. Works as promised.. Super helpful for tracking mileage without having to remember to start it with the auto detection. I only wish you could delete drives from the app. You can only delete drives from the website version. I ride along with another party quite a bit and always forget to pause the auto detection when I start out. So I have to open the browser and delete the drive from the website instead of being able to delete from the app on my phone. I also wish you could adjust your end point on the map. A few times it didn’t track me all the way to my destination because I drive through a “dead” spot with no cell service. But other than those small complaints, I actually do love this app and and happy I purchased it. Makes getting organized for tax time simpler. And my accountant LOVES it. She is actually the one who recommended this to me. End of year it has a pdf breakdown of all your drives. This is priceless information. Also reminds you at the start of the year to document your mileage on your car to make sure everything matches up. Great app!

Fire Protection Inspector. I am an inspector for a company that installs, designs & does inspections on fire suppression systems. I drive a lot, all day long from job to job, so mileage is a big part on the job. So far I have found the app great, though the frequent drives option doesn’t work that great and the work hours feature doesn’t allow you to edit those drives as it automatically logs them without any input on your part, which I do not like. Wish when it auto logs a drive, that it would still pop up and say “we just logged a business drive, is this correct? Would you like to add anything to this drive?” Same goes with a personal drive. Also, when in a drive from one job to the next or from the job to home, if you stop at a store or gas station, the app will stop that drive and when you start driving again it will start an entire new drive, I wish you had the option to continue the drive so therefore it would be logged together as one simple drive and not several different logs which you have to go back and calculate. I think if they fixed these minor issues this app would be top notch.

Be careful not to turn off the app. Today I went to print out my yearly report and found that a whole month was missing. This is my second year using the app and I’ve never found data gaps before. I contacted customer support and was told that if the app is closed by swiping it stops running and no data is collected. I find this explanation hard to believe as I swipe apps closed all the time, including this one, and have never found large gaps in the data for this app. But the customer service person insisted that I had closed the app and turned it off. This makes no sense, but the bottom line is I lost a month of data and it’s not coming back. And the attitude of customer service was just so unfriendly. In looking for a way to find this data I did look at the settings for the first time and found that I could turn on routes—something I always wished was available. I hope this will make this app more helpful as I often cannot determine what a drive is from the info given. So that was a positive. But having a tracking app that is so easily deactivated? Not helpful.

Not great any more. Once the easiest, most user friendly app I cud imagine. Now the set up is horrible. Instead of user friendly boxes to tap to classify your drives, you have a list & if you tap anywhere to scroll thru that list, it automatically misclassifies your drive. Unclassified drive screen does the same thing.. you try to scroll & can’t touch the screen anywhere without inadvertently misclassifying a drive. Taken away also was the 1 touch “undo” button that made quick misclassifications of the past easy to undo. Now that the app seems designed to cause unintentional misclassifications, editing those is more work than ever. Have messaged for months only to receive meaningless emails about engineers working on it. This app had been one of the best tools I had for my business for many years. Now it’s a huge hassle, doesn’t do it’s job easily or seamlessly as it used to, and after this much time - I’m looking elsewhere. What an inexcusable waste of what was once a phenomenal product / service!!!!

App is decent but has issues, and Technical Support is nonexistent.. First off, I only have 53 trips left before I have to pay for this app, so working out all the issues before I pay for it is a must. I have come up with a list of issues that I need to be able to work around or correct, in the chat function is useless. I post a detailed description of the issue I'm having, the chat app tells me there is one person ahead of me in the queue, and then after five minutes it times out and says no one is able to help me. Edit: It's been a few months, I finally got a case opened, and "support" is pretty much useless. I have submitted probably 10 or 15 drives over the past months where the route is incorrect or missing, with logs, screenshots, and detailed descriptions, and all support can do is ask for more logs, screenshots, and descriptions. Looking back at prior reviews, this seems to have been a problem since the inception of this app, and they still haven't managed to fix this issue. When I first got this app, it was a Microsoft product. Now Microsoft has dropped this app, and I think that explains the complete lack of support I am receiving.

One annoying feature. I love being able to automatically track my mileage when I’m visiting clients, and the ability to customize the purposes of my drives; I work two jobs (one FT and one seasonal) as an independent contractor and I like to be able to keep the mileage separate for both. The one thing I cannot stand about this app is that whenever you close it, if you have notifications allowed, you get a message saying, “Heads up! MileIQ has quit. Tap here or re-open the app to continue classifying your drives.” I just don’t understand - I mean, of course the app has quit, I just double-tapped my home button (iPhone) and swiped to close it. I had to do that deliberately in order to quit the app. Why do I need a reminder that it worked? This happens even when you’re completely caught up on your drives and have nothing to classify, making it even more of an unnecessary annoyance. So, developers, can we maybe reconsider that?

Could more TAX friendly. Love the app and it records my drives fairly accurately. Sometimes when I come home from work and stop at the house for less than five minutes to change into my gym clothes .... it will record my travel from work to home and then from home to the gym as one trip. I simply make a note of that so that I can reconcile it later. From a tax perspective, if you were taking “actual expenses” instead of “mileage” as your deduction.... you need to know the percentage of business miles out of all of your vehicle mileage. The app doesn’t calculate this automatically for you. The circle graph the app displays just simply gives you business trips versus personal trips. This is useless data from a tax deduction perspective. If you are going to take “actual expenses” as a deduction on your taxes the calculation is...total vehicle expenses multiplied by percent business miles traveled. The app makes you calculate that percentage from data presented on a spreadsheet on your own which is inconvenient and possibly cumbersome in some circumstances. I wish the developers would have sought the advice of some expert Tax Attorneys in the development of the app.

BEST mileage app ever!. This app is phenomenal. I had it on my phone for some time; but didn't give much insight into it until tax time came along and needed some form of evidence to account for my high mileage. I opened the app and it had EVERYTHING! I went ahead and paid for the unlimited mileage, and it gave me my previous mileage beyond the allotted 40. I love this app, I'm a realtor and I like to be able to put on notes with specific clients I was with or did a showing for, etc. I can then download by the month and input the total mileage for business into my accounting software (realtyzam). This app is a true lifesaver, you don't have to remember nothing, just log them later when you get a chance, if you forget what the drive was for, normally once you click the map and analyze it with the time, it's very clear exactly what you were doing during that specific drive. This app is a must for anyone who needs to track their mileage for any reason!

App has way too many glitches. I have been using this app for a couple of years. The sorting option is great and allows you to leave notes for drives but after going through my drives for 2022 for my taxes I realized it am missing a lot of drives. The other issue is it will show a 14 mile drive and when I click it to see the emails of my trip it shows the trip starting from my house and ending at my house so it won’t show me where I went. This has happened several times. Now that I’m done going through my 2022 drives I’ve been paying more attention to my daily drives and I noticed it is missing drives completely. As a realtor and owner of rental properties this is so annoying because I do a lot of driving and I can definitely see there is so many drives missing which will cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars on my taxes. Very disappointed to just realize MileIQ has missed so many drives and I just got charged for another year of membership for a product that is not doing why I’m paying for.

Ronn. I have been using mileage IQ for about seven months. I started working for a company that had promised me a Company car as part of my position. The company had a policy of not paying any of their employees for personal use of their vehicles. But, because mileage IQ is so professional, accurate and detailed, I've been able to get paid for all my business mileage over the last seven months. I simply told them that this will be temporary until I receive my company vehicle that they promised. After talking with other employees I realize that I would never get a company vehicle. If you work for a company that wants to cheat you on your mileage, you can simply keep this documentation until you leave the company. This will stand up in court and you can file a small claims lawsuit for $150. With this type of documentation your case will be a slamdunk in court. Enjoy suing your x-employer with the help of mileage IQ.!!!

Love it. I have even used this to prove a few things that date back months. Such as - I paid a $1600 payment to a company that said I did not . I was able to find the date - show where I left my house - drove to the bank( take money out) then drove to the biz . With this app I then could show when I left the biz which means based on a clock it show where I was there for 1 hour . This int forced them to dig deeper to find there problem and this helped me with not being stuck paying it twice . Using it this same way again this weekend with Orileys and this will show the date and time I drove there to buy the alternator that they claim is now out of warranty. Not to count this gives you the option to swipe One Direction for personal. Business this thing has so many great things about it I love . The monthly price is nothing compared to what it has saved me

Stops working if you don’t allow it to constantly track you. Unless you allow it to track your phone all day every day, on the (always) option in settings. It will stop working and will not even let you look back on your past months. What’s the point of all the time I wasted inputting my miles if I can’t even go back to see how many miles I put in that month? So useless and was a complete waste of my time. I wish I would’ve known sooner so I could just track them myself or find a different app. Now I have no idea of how many miles I put in and have to spend hours going back to check somehow. Also one random day it stopped letting me input the address I always use. It just didn’t show up therefore I couldn’t even add them for the app to calculate. I had to write my city name on both start and end and then calculate myself how many miles I was going so that I could write it in my description for later manual calculation. At that point I should have just stopped using the app and calculated myself in my spreadsheet. Now I can’t even see those descriptions because I can’t see the past months in its entirety. Super super frustrating.

Good app. I do like the app. I use it to track all my business vs personal miles. I do have one critique so I’m writing this review so that hopefully the developer sees it and can do something about it. Once you’ve categorized a drive as either business or personal, you can no longer delete it. Yes, you can correct and switch from personal to business or vice verse, but if you accidentally label one, for example as personal, then realize your mistake, say it was a rental car, for example, you can’t go delete it. So now my percentage of personal vs business mileage is messed up. The app literally just gave me the option to categorize a run I went on as personal or business. Sadly, I can’t run as fast as i drive, so you’d think the app would be smart enough to realize that my 8 MPH run for 3 miles is not a trip in a car. But without thinking about it, I categorized my jog as a personal trip in my car. And now i can’t delete it.

Recently switched over from another app. I had been using two other apps, but one was really buggy, and the other was just a basic back-up plan with no fancy features to catch all the drives that the primary one was missing. I don't know if I can say the name here, but I had been trying to use MileCatcher and it was so inconsistent; it would start tracking my drives several miles in to the trip. Then it would go weeks without even being able to open. When I finally was able to open, all my drives were lost. So I signed up for the free trial with this one and decide to purchase the monthly subscription. So far it works way better, is consistent and reliable, and super easy to use. I deleted the buggy app, and got the drive logs exported from that back-up, so I can delete that one now too. great program! 👍

Overall a Very Good App. I’ve been using MileiQ for quite a few years now (ever since it first became included with my Office 365 Business Premium Subscription- although it is no longer included, unfortunately). While this app does a goo job with the normal stuff, I’d really like to see more innovation such as automatically detecting if you’re using a ride-share app (such as catching an Uber if Lyft to the airport) - I’ve got to think there could be an integration or detection that a ride is active. Additionally, when flying to an airport and pickling up a rental car it would be interesting if it flagged either through an integration with rental car agencies or through ai/ml to understand you flew in to a destination that is not a “home” airport and prompt to for rental car usage and maybe even allow specifying estimated inactivity time (e.g. renting a car on Monday and returning on Thursday at 2pm local time). In this scenario it would automatically mark all drives as Rental Car or something similar. Furthermore, a “Snooze” function would be helpful. For instance if I am stopping work drives for the weekend, being able to snooze until Sunday evening or Monday AM. The active business hours is a good idea for people with standard schedules but I do outside sales and may drive out on a Sunday evening or may leave on Tuesday morning depending on the week.

Really stupid design choices. The way this app works is dumb. You have to wait until after you’ve already driven to put any data in the app. Scenario: You leave your house to drive to a client. You don’t have the option to get into your car and tell mileiq what the drive is going to be for. Instead you have to do the drive first and then wait 15 minutes or longer (“settling time”). Well guess what? After 15 minutes you’ve already started working and will probably forget to do this. Or because you don’t want to take time away from the task you’re currently working on and getting paid for. You’ll probably also forget by the end of the day. 1.) Let us put the info in BEFORE the drive starts. 2.) Don’t require that app tracking is always on. I don’t want every drive recorded (at least not as a default option) and I don’t want my battery draining the whole time you’re lojacking me. And thanks for limiting us on the free version to 40 trips a month. Since you can’t stop this from counting every time you go to the grocery store against this total, I guess most people will be paying that $5/mo. How convenient for you. At least Stride gives you the option to turn off this “always on” crap. Oh yeah, Stride literally does everything your app does and more. And they do it for FREE.

Generally pleased. MileIQ seems so far to start recording reliably, gives good reminders to classify trips. I drive to a lot of the same places but I do not like auto classification, so I do not use it. This is because sometimes those trips are business and sometimes they are not business and auto classification makes the assumption that they are always the saml. I have to just leave MileIQ running all the time because I’m an on call person. I can get called to an urgent need at any hour. So even when I’m asleep I leave it running in case in the urgency of getting out on a call I’d forget to start the app. I appreciate the full view of the map record of the recorded trip. Sometimes the way I take to a regular location is different and there’s usually a reason and it might require completing some other paperwork for my job. I do really wish that it gave an indication that it is recording a trip with an option to stop the trip at any time. This would allow a very, very brief stop to result in an a trip interruption and make it easier to classify one journey to two different purposes. For example, making a trip to a client and then on the return trip stopping halfway starting a new trip to a different location for a personal purpose returning to that stop place and then changing the purpose again for the trip home.

Not Worth It.. Only good thing about this app is it seems to track your total miles well. I am an Uber driver in Dallas Fort Worth. I have relied on this app for the past two years to track my business miles. Unfortunately, the app is not near accurate enough for my needs. Overlapping drives show up in the app saying I’m in two different places at one time. Drives don’t show up until between a half hour and a couple days later after I complete a drive. Stops aren’t recognized with accuracy. If you need to accurately track business and personal drives in a single day, with the tax laws nowadays I recommend you save your money and track your drives manually. As an Uber driver, I start and stop frequently, and this app just isn’t accurate and fast enough to handle it. If you’re going somewhere and stopping for 20 min or so before moving on, this app will work great. But if you’re dropping off, picking up etc. in intervals of 5-10 minutes, it’s just too much for this app to take, and all your driving will be lumped together.

Mile IQ Saves Time and a Headache. I was referred to MileIQ by my boss. I didn’t think too much since I thought writing would be more accurate. I was completely wrong! At times I would forget or just didn’t remember where I was. I even had my job question where I was or what I was doing on the clock at a different address. It was a building supply store I couldn’t remember weeks ago. Thank goodness for this app. It has helped me with a reminder for weekly or monthly reports and sends to the email. GPS is accurate and precise. I have not tried other mile apps but I can say I am still with this app and will most likely purchase the app to see if other features highlight the benefit of the monthly/yearly purchase. Thank You to the customer service who Actually responded to my concerns. Much appreciated, Gabe

Not overly thrilled. For some reason this app on my iPhone 6 incorrectly interprets stopping at a long traffic light as the end of a trip. That can get frustrating after a while as I try to figure out what the purpose of the trip was when it shows me completing a journey at a completely random location than what the actual destination was. Also, I have found that after completing a trip, the app doesn’t record the journey right away. It takes some time before it actually shows up on the app as a trip. So after a day or so i end up wondering “now what was the purpose for my driving to that locality in town?” It would be nice if there could be more specific pinpointing of the actual ending point rather than a marker near a particular road where it said I ended my trip. More often than not, the ending marker is put on a blank tan space near a road. Not sure if it can get more gps specific. I do like the fact that I can customize the purposes for either the business or personal travels I make.

Chude’s Reviews. Currently downloaded 3 mileage and expense trackers (Mile IQ, Intuit (Turbo Tax Self Employed, and Taxbot). Like all 3, but when it comes to tracking mileage, Mile IQ clearly outshines the rest. As a result of the clean interface, user-friendly experience, and the fact that it remembers your drives if you name your location. Also, unlike the “Self-Employed app by Intuit/Turbo Tax, when it comes to drives, Mile IQ catches the drives on the same day. I currently just classified my 13 Mile IQ drives for the day, and Turbo Tax’s app has yet to post 1 drive for the day (not to mention will miss some drives). Tax Bot is better about catching drives, but doesn’t have as clean as an Interface/UE (User Experience), and, only shows start time and not end time (in my profession, knowing what time one arrives at a location is very important, and can make the difference between hefty fines/jail time, and making a good living. So, although Mike IQ doesn’t allow one to keep track of expenses, for the cheaper price than the other apps I’m using, and the more proficient ability to capture drives and cleaner interface, I definitely recommend MileIQ!

Pretty Darn Good. I came across this app from an ad on my free solitaire app. Within a week I used up my free drives and bought a year's subscription. It's worked nearly flawlessly, save an unrecorded trip or two. But compared to remembering to write it down, or looking it up in Maps... It's close enough. Swiping to log trips is actually a nice little end of day or week break and you can add custom categories, so far I haven't run out. If you are like me and work freelance and every time you go to a production it's business, this is invaluable either for expensing or for getting mileage reimbursements. Plus, if you add custom personal drives, you can see much you drive for shopping, coffee, recreation, etc. So, pretty good, a few glitches to work out. I would think you need to work freelance or something similar to justify the subscription, but the app has paid for itself in a couple of weeks and on a longer project it turns out my expensable miles are just about equal to my car payment....

App has become unusable. I’ve used this app for several years with the free version. This month and last month I’ve had severe issues on both the app and the desktop site. My drives are not showing up to be classified but it’s telling me I’ve hit my max of 40 drives even though the app only shows I have 15 drives. Support is absolutely horrible and condescending. No one ever responds in the “live chat” and email will have you going back-and-forth with them not answering your full question and taking 2 to 3 days to respond. Last month and I was having this problem and after 25 days of emailing back and forth, they had me remove the app and reinstall it and it fixed it. Unfortunately, it has happened again this month and that fix did not work so I am back to having to deal with their horrible customer service via email. I asked for a phone number and I have been told they do not provide customer service via phone. I found a phone number online but when I call it it says to just send an email. Would give 0 stars if I could.

The company can’t send my reports to my outlook email. I have an outlook account that is tied to MileIQ. I have been trying to send summary reports to that email but I never receive them in my inbox, junk or spam. I decided to call this morning to help me get my reports. They said that there is a problem with emails being sent to an email that is outlook, live or hotmail. That means that if you have an email associated with any one of those you can not receive your reports. I asked the phone representative when this problem would be corrected. He said he wasn’t sure at all when it wold be fixed and they have been aware of this problem for some time. I asked if he could send the reports- he replied that he doesn’t have access to those because of privacy reasons. His only suggestion was to get another email account that is not outlook, live or hotmail. This is a huge market that they are not servicing and it doesn’t seem to be taken that seriously. I am going to somehow get my reports printed and then I am canceling MileIQ and going with another company that can email my reports that I have paid for in advance.

Hate the latest update. I’ve had this app for a few months and it was totally fine, had no issues. Now with the newest update it makes it almost impossible to use. The times sometimes aren’t even correct, and the money has not been accurate at all. I drove for an hour, about 40 miles of distance, and it calculated it at $2. Normally this would’ve been $30-40 before the update as this is a routine drive for me. Also god forbid I ever forget a couple dates of drives and have to go in and classify them because the map is so vague now I can’t even tell what the drive was. Before it used to show a more detailed map and it was easy to tell where I was going, but not anymore. It basically just shows a line from point A to point B. I’m also not sure if it’s more sensitive now, but it’s classified things as stops and drives when they weren’t, so im just lost staring at the app trying to figure out where I even was or what I was doing that day. Hopefully all of this gets fixed soon cuz I enjoyed the app before and used it with no issues through may-july, but if it stays like this I’ll have to use a different one.

I had an issue, and no one could help me!. My issue was, mile IQ stop recording my drives, and I couldn't figure out why, and then I remembered after they told me that they couldn't help me and they needed more information. I remembered my iPhone asked me if I wanted MileIQ to continue to run in the background, and it gave me two options one was always, and the one was, only while using the app, and I think without thinking I put only while using the app, so I missed two days of Business drives. I think that day my phone kept asking me this, and that is running in the background do you want to do this or do that, and I got fed up and just said only while using the app and everything that popped up that's what I put. So if you are using MileIQ make sure you put always so that you don't have to keep the app open, and it will still record all your drives. You can do this by going to your settings under MileIQ, and highlight always!

Missing Key Features. I really love the concept behind this app—the simplicity of swiping to classify miles. This is the first job I’ve had where I need to keep track of business miles and it can be daunting to do so each and every day. I thought Mile IQ was going to be a great solution, however I see 4 key problems that keep me from ever wanting to pay for the app. 1.) I cannot seem to find a way to view miles by DAY. I only see an option for monthly reports and my job requires that I record miles personal vs. business by the day. 2.) On top of that, I don’t want reports to be sent to my email. My life is busy enough. Do you think I want more emails? Isn’t that the whole purpose of Mile IQ is to save time..not add more to my plate? Why can’t you just view your mileage breakdown on the app? Finance apps like Mint allow you to break down your spending categories by day, so I know it’s not impossible or too complicated. 3.) When you try to view the maps for each drive, there are no business names or landmarks that show up. Sometimes I cannot remember where I went next and I would be counting on the map locations to tell me. 4.) 40 drives free is not very many at all. That seems extremely low. I think the app is a great idea..but it needs to be executed much better.

Great app. I have been using this app since April and it took some getting used to. But now that I’m getting the hang of it and being able to set things it has made it sooo easy to track my mileage. I use this app to track all my medical and charity and business mileage. It has been great to know that I don’t have to think about it. I too believe that there should be an option to be able to set reminders within the app to remember to classify the drives. A once a day or every other day type of reminder. Also it would be easier to track if the locations could have more pinpoint accuracy rather than the name of the neighborhood you went to. I have to look at the date and the time of day and try to remember what I was doing to try to remember if it’s business/charity/medical. Add these two features and I will definitely give it 5 stars.

About as simple as it gets!. I’ve been using this app for about 3 months now and, quite frankly, this is one of the best apps ever created. It works flawlessly and completely automatic in the background of your mobile device. It has logged every single drive I have made since I started using it. And the join feature works great to tie together all of those trips that have minor detours along the way to your destination like getting off the interstate to get gas or food or for an overnight stay. Couple that feature with the simple swipe left or right to categorize a drive as personal or business and this is just about the easiest, most effective app I have ever used period. Seriously, if you aren’t using MileIQ to track your business mileage, you need to start using today. Just make sure you’ve set-up all your data and vehicle info before taking your first drive. I suggest doing a test drive just to be sure it is capturing your drives automatically. When I first started, it missed a few initial trips because I did not have my vehicle information set-up completely. But once you are sure it is automatically capturing each drive, you are good to go. This app is about as perfect in form and function and usefulness as it gets. Try it today, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to use this app. Pure Genius!

Easy Peasy Just Needs Two Little Improvements. I love this app and I use it all the time to track my business mileage. Easy as can be. You just swipe one way for biz and the other way for personal. It’s nice to see all your deductions adding up in the upper right corner. As for the improvements I’d like to see, I wish it was more accurate and it could pinpoint at least major landmarks like Costco or local schools. Sometimes once I’ve named a place, it says I was at that place if I was a couple blocks away. That makes it hard to be completely accurate in my tracking. For instance I named one of my kid’s schools and it thought I was there when I was going an open house at one of my listings a couple blocks away. One is business, one is personal. The other helpful update might be to have it remind you to track if you don’t do it for a couple days. As a Realtor I go so many places, if I get a few days behind I have no idea what his business and what is personal. I wouldn’t even mind a reminder every time I get out of the car, or at least every time I get home. I have a reminder set to delete texts and log mileage at the end of each day, but something from the app when I don’t do it would be great. That should probably be an optional feature because I know that would bug some people. Overall, thank you so much for making it easy to keep track of miles and get the tax write-offs. Well done!

App not working. I have been using this app for years and have learned bed it, never had an issue. But this morning I opened it up because it said I had unclassified drives from yesterday, and when I opened it, it showed zero for everything. When I have almost 2000 drives this month. I tried everything I could but it was saying no connection. Everything else in my phone was working fine. I tried wifi and data, same thing. I sent an email but having heard back. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and it won’t let me sign in saying that there’s no connection. Yet just like this morning, everything else on my phone is working fine. I tried hitting ‘forgot password’ and I get the same pop up of no connection. I work 10-14 hrs a day 7 days a week and I need this working! Help me please!!!! Also, not a fan of the last update..’undo’ is gone and that is not good.

GET. THIS. NOW!. I’ve tried, lord knows I’ve tried SO many mile tracking apps and this is by far the most superior app I’ve seen in a really long time. Unlike all these other apps that “claim” to track miles automatically, this one actually does. As long as you have the Locations set to Always On and the app is always open and running in the background. But if you’re someone like me who’s driving can get a little confusing in regards to what classifies as business or personal drives. On a basic level this app is fantastic just for categorizing both of those but it can go even deeper. All I need it for is the reports for my CPA at the end of the year. I wish I was using this app ages ago. Amazing product for the cost, please don’t waste you’re energy or money anywhere else especially if you’re someone who does a lot of mix driving within the same day to week.

Overall Great, but One Major Concern. This app is a brilliant idea, and it’s certainly going to make thing easier come tax season. My biggest frustration is: I drive Lyft and live in a rural area, so I drive around 20 miles into town to start getting more rides. I’ll often get my first ride while I’m moving, and when I pick them up, I’m only stopped for about two minutes, so MileIQ doesn’t register the stop. I can’t claim the miles going into town or out of town (the IRS considers these a “commute”), but when I get home, I have one big, long drive to classify because I never stopped moving long enough. It’d be really nice to be able to go into each drive and manually break them into smaller ones when necessary. As it stands, I’m left trying to subtract about 40 miles from each day of my report by hand before calculating my taxes, which kind of defeats the purpose of the app.

Good automatic tracking but not accurate routes. This app is great because it’s simple and easy to navigate but the routes are not accurate. This could be a better app if this problem was fixed so here it goes...Half of the time the app doesn’t accurately track the start and stop destination and the routes. I drove this route but the app says I drove a different route (which was a longer route too). Then I made this short stop at a store but the app shows that I only drove in the area along with the different route from what I actually drove (instead of recording that as an individual route like I expected it to, that route was automatically connected to my next route and it became one individual route altogether). Not only that but in one of my routes, the app completely disregarded a stop I made and my route, according to the app, didn’t event go anywhere near that stop, it stopped midway then changed course. Overall, I’m still going to use this app, but if these small details were fixed this would really be the top mileage tracker. Thanks!

Almost perfect. Mile IQ really is fantastic. It does a great job at tracking mileage and running in the background while not draining your battery. Although this app works really well I would like to see three additions. 1) Job tracking: the ability to assign drives to specific jobs not tasks. For a construction company it doesn’t really work to track mileage for specific jobs. This is more of a broad spectrum tracker. 2) Delete or Remove Drives: I’m yet to find the ability to delete a drive. I went to a consult with another contractor and left Mile IQ running in the background. Like it is suppose to it tracked our trip and drives. The only option I had at that point was to classify those drives as personal. Not a big deal because I’m not concerned with personal miles but if someone was there isn’t any way to adjust. 3) the ability to link drives: Mile IQ will automatically link certain drives and sometimes create round trip drives. The ability to manually link drives would be fantastic as well. Over all it’s the best I’ve found so far and I’ve already recouped the cost of the 1year subscription within my first 40 drives.

Wish it was more accurate .... The developers of this app have done a lot of things well, nice features, user interface, and I really like the monthly reports. However, like others have reported, I also have noticed a problem with the drive autodetection feature missing drives which is the most critical function of the app. I have requested that they add a manual mode to allow driver to initiate start and stop points to help deal with this issue but not sure they will add this. For me, the app will miss my first drive of day almost 100% of the time and sometimes miss short intermediate destinations. This is a problem for maintaining accurate tax records. What’s strange is that they include a setting to disable automatic drive detection but in the disabled state, there’s no way to manually initiate a drive. Why they have this setting is a mystery to me since the app doesn’t work if drive detection is set to off. Such a nicely designed app with this huge critical flaw is sad. I have already reported this to the developers so no need to reply with that suggestion. Let me know when you add a manual mode. Thanks.

Quick and intuitive, like a polite robot. Super amazing, quick, and actually fun to classify each place you've been. I'm a working artist, and I always have the best intentions of writing down trips, which I never remember to do, ever. Already the first month, this app has more than paid for itself. It's so polite, too-- like every couple of days, this polite robot taps you on the shoulder (via a push notification) and it helpfully walks you through a quick snapshot of all the different places you've driven (see, you started right here on the map, and you stopped there) along with what time and what day it was, and you go: "Oh yeah, I remember; that's when I went to the art store to pick up more paint-- that was business! (swipe right). And this map is when I drove my kid over to his friend's house-- personal! (swipe left). Swiping through the past eight or ten car trips takes like 45 seconds to categorize the whole lot, and bam, you're done. I love it. Otherwise I would lose all that money-- because I know myself: I seriously underestimate how many trips I make for business. And writing it down takes way too much dedication.

The app was great, new version is so glitchy. The old version was perfect. Smooth, seamless and super intuitive.. this app.. sad. When you go to swipe and hold, it just fully swipes and doesn’t let you choose a purpose. When this does work and you try and scroll down, it selects wherever you set your finger to swipe, instead of swiping… and when I go to edit my purposes and click hide it won’t hide.. it does nothing. Then when you accidentally delete a drive, that’s gone. Can’t find it.. don’t know if it’s completely gone or if the app is just not that intuitive and can’t find it. And the worst part is you got rid of the undo button on the bottom right corner. That lil guy helps so much when you do something you didn’t want to and a quick fix. Please fix this. You will definitely be losing my wife and I as customers of 7years as this does not make my life easier. Edit: new glitch! I accidentally put a drive as a business drive but then realized it wasn’t. When I went to go edit it, the drive for that day is gone. Can’t find it in any of the categories… fun!..

Great, but misses some drives. Not often, but occasionally I notice that one of my drives isn’t there. It’s usually a case where it shows me coming home from somewhere, but how did I get there? (And no, it hasn’t been auto-classified as anything) Overall great though. An easy way to track drives without having to think about it. One other note: it could really use a “not in my car” option. The only way to not have it racked up for a write-off is to classify it as personal. I worry that casts suspicion on other drives to those locations. Also, I find it very offensive that under the “email notifications” setting, you can toggle on/off for weekly, monthly and “other” emails, but if you try to toggle off the promotional emails, it toggles it right back on. “You will receive our unsolicited emails and you will LIKE them!!” Not cool, not cool. Any update on that “not in my car” feature I mentioned?

One of the better mileage apps, just needs improvement.. This app is great. I was using Quickbooks and it missed a ton of my trips so I switched. This app has many more features. I like that you can classify frequent jobs. I’m a pet sitter some sometimes I drive to the same location three or four times a day. Two improvements regarding accuracy and I would rate this app 5 stars: 1. I want the app to highlight the route you took. Doesn’t seem like it should be that hard to implement. For example, sometimes it will log my starting and ending points both as home and since I don’t classify trips everyday I can’t remember where I went! 2. I want to be able to split trips. Sometimes I combine a personal and business related trip into one. If I do a pet check in while I out and about for personal reasons I can’t really count all of the mileage as business related. Still really enjoy the app, though!

App thinks I have a teleporter. I’ve been using the app for a while and have developed a strong dislike for it. A hatred really. Breaks up trips into multiple smaller ones if you pull over for a moment, very very inaccurate mileage tracking. I usually end up with about a 20% loss of my actual mileage. I track manually with a notebook, trip odometers and other apps. Everything lines up except the mileage from this app. Sometimes trips aren’t even tracked or logged. Very hard to manage, view, organize and delete trips once they’ve been logged. If I want to delete a bunch of trips I have to go and delete each one individually. I don’t need a record of 50 1.3 mile personal trips. Pay for a clunky, inaccurate app? You crazy? Where is all the money going from paid subscriptions if not into making the app work decently? Very strange. Strange that free apps are excellent and this one I kind of wish I never even downloaded and wasted my time and money with. Also, don’t respond asking me to contact the support team to work out the issues. I don’t work for you and you wouldn’t be willing to pay me for my time helping you solve these problems. Just look at all of the other mileage apps that work and do something like that.

Sufficient But missing a few important things. This app is automatic once you set it up. Which is great because when I do business trip type drive I typically forget about setting my mileage at the start of the trip. This app just does it for you. That being said, you can also categorize your trips as personal and that is great but I don’t care about my personal drives and so this app DOES NOT give you the option to delete a drive you don’t want included. In addition the app itself does not show the running total of you mileage broken down by drive purpose. Only as business and personal combined. You have to crest the report summary to get that breakdown. A bit of a nuance. The information is there just have to get the statement vs the app just telling you. You also have a some max amount of drives you can do before you have to upgrade to the paid version at $5.99. A bit excessive unless you drive a lot and worth it at tax time. Overall it is a decent app but the two features above are important to me so I may look at other mileage apps

As User-Friendly As It Gets. I absolutely LOVE this app!! MikeIQ makes it SO easy to classify and keep track of the miles you drive for business so there’s no headache figuring out your mileage at tax time every April. It breaks down your drives by month and creates a year-end report for you as well. MileIQ also allows you to create your own sub-classifications for your drives (i.e. Business meeting with customers, medical appointments, office supplies, kid’s sporting events, school drop off/pick ups, etc.) and since the IRS assigns different deduction amounts per mile based upon the drive (drive for client meeting vs. medical appointment have different rates per mile with the IRS), there really is no way to screw up your tax deductions. This app is a lifesaver and one less business expense deduction hassle I have to calculate and keep track of myself each year. I absolutely recommend this app to anyone in need of keeping track of the miles you put on your car/driven every month for tax related purposes. Easily 5 Stars!!

Saved me at Tax time. I love this app. I had to do back-taxes because I had a hard drive crash and lost most of a year’s data. Because I was able to go “back in time” with this app and my Outlook calendar - I was saved. It was a tedious but straight-forward process. Why only four stars? I would give this app a 5+ star rating if possible, if it were not for the fact that it won’t record in the background if not open anymore. I lost data at the end of last year, 2919, because the app was closed. My permissions were set to allow it to track in the background. What happened? Just now I closed the app and received the message “Heads up! MileIQ has quit. Tap to restart app.” So, I don’t understand. Sometimes it works in the background and sometimes it does not. That lack of reliability and certainty is a real problem. Please fix this or educate me on the proper settings and I’ll give this a 5-star rating. Have this work with Quickbooks and other accounting software and I’ll write a song about your heroism!

Mostly Great. For me, MileIQ is indispensable. One of the few apps that I pay a yearly subscription for, and happily so. The one and only issue I have with the app is, perhaps, my own quirk. Long before the app became a part of Microsoft I was enthusiastic user. I’ve been at it for a while now. My practice has always been to create a custom destination, using all capital letters to indicate that I made the entry, and then assigning it to my own personal categories. MileIQ takes custom created destinations but does not “recall“ them when you go to reuse them. If you create a new destination for a trip to somewhere, you have to create the same destination if the return trip back is logged separately. I know this is a tortured explanation. But it is a workaround that I am used to but still not overly happy about. If only MileIQ could “recall“ custom, user created destinations when you go to login a trip. As you likely know, you often go to regions where there are two or three or four destinations clustered in the same geographic area. There is no drop-down list to choose from if the coffee shop comes up and you mean the office supply store, you literally have to change the name back. It’s just inconvenient. Having said all of that, you really should use the app. It will save you hours and lots of grief. But that’s the one fly in the ointment for me. (Dictated, please forgive typos.)

5 Stars UNTIL UNDO button was removed. I am premium user of this app and I loved it. I even recommended to my friends and family who are into uber and related stuffs. Recently they took away the undo button which to me doesn't make any sense at all. Why make using the app more difficult for users? If by end of this month the button is not back, I am definitely cancelling my subscription and moving to another app. Some of my friends have already switched. I don't know who thought it was a good user experience to make a good app terrible by removing the undo button. Terrible update 🤨

Works great. Nice app in every aspect, but little expensive

Organized!!!. I never loose a mile done for business! The best mileage app!

Makes life so easy. No more spreadsheets and headaches

Turn it on and forget. As a business owner I needing to track / document all my drives. It’s nice having an app complete this for me which saves me hours each year, when it comes to tax man time. You can name your locations, swipe personal or business, and repeated drives you can program into it automatically being added.

Unreliable. For some reason it doesn’t auto detect my trips. Auto detect is on. Maybe it needs a windows update…

Good app for tracking time and mileage.. Like it after first month

Glitchy. Have to classify every drive TWICE as it always tends to revert back after swiping !!

Almost 5 stars. Awesome app one thing that would be great to add would be fuel/charging expenses.

Easy & Accurate. Ease of use and automatic are two big sellers for me

Removed undo button?. Why would they remove the undo button? Have been using this app for years with it glitching out quite often, missing drives at times, app crashes, etc. Hasn’t been a huge issue, but now we can’t undo a classification or accidental deletion of a drive? I’m For example, I drove my wife’s van so I wanted to delete the round trip as it’s not an expense, but I classified it instead. No undo button anymore, so I go into “all drives” and hit “edit”, the only thing I can do is change the classification… but why???

Accountant. I like the app

Highly recommend. Very user friendly and easy to use! The classification process makes things seem less to log your personal and business travel! I recommend this app!

The perfect business mileage tool!. Keeping track of kms driven and connecting them to business or personal trips was a real chore. MileIQ makes it ridiculously easy and the reports are a dream (my accountant probably loves that aspect more than me!). If you need to track mileage - you NEED Mile IQ.

Great tool. Fantastic tool to tracking mileage!

J’aime beaucoup. Tres facile a utiliser

Great. App enormously helpful and reliable for tracking drives

Alexandre Maltais. Great app! Perfect for my Real Estate business

Garbage. Won’t connect to wifi.

Parfait. Idéal pour mon travail sur la route. L’application reconnaît tous mes déplacements

Best Mile Tracker. I have used multiple mile tracking apps and this is by far the most accurate and the easiest to navigate and organize!

Good potential but disappointing. First the obvious... it’s likely the most expensive app you have ever seen on the app world... that said, I bought it for the convenience factor and somehow justified the over priced YEARLY subscription cost to myself. Well, unfortunately they don’t tell you that although you pay the same price regardless where you live, you aren’t getting the same app/features. If I need to manually enter a drive, or view ANY of my previous logged drives, I can’t do it from the app... “this feature is not available in Canada at this time”..... what!? How is that some magical super advanced feature that only certain country’s are privy to? That makes absolutely 0 sense... I’m sorry but what kind of moron designs a driving app that doesn’t let you review your drives or manually enter a drive... unfortunately I’m now the moron for paying full pop for half an app. Thanks Microsoft

Too Expensive. Very good app but shouldn't need to cost this much

Only been using it for s couple of weeks but. So far so good. Actually rather impressed. It works on the background all the time I guess. I also use a paid Appl. Which needs to be told when I’m moving and when I’ve stopped driving but MileIQ does it automatically. My only worry would be future versions and the security of my data access going forward but if it all continues like this I may switch from my current paid Appl to MileIQ. It appears to work seemlessly and its a third of the price of my current Appl. Not sure about effect in my battery. I have a transponder for my current Appl but as I’m using both at the same time I have noticed a reduction in my phones battery life which is not good. I’ll have to run one for a week then the other to get a clearer picture of which draws the most power. I suspect MileIQ as its on all the time. A few months into the plan I’ve decided to stay with Drivers Note, my paid Appl. Unlike this Appl which uses the web site to record most of the detail oc my drive Drivers Note stores all the information in the Appl which is way easier to operate and access while still backing it up. This Appl is also way to energy consumptive. My new (ish) iPhone is often dead by lunch time.

Makes life easier. That’s all you need to know

Great app. Mile iq is easy to set up and easy to use. It’s super nice to not have to manually track my mileage anymore. And I love that you can add notes and addresses to make it easier to keep track of things.

Awesome program. Tracks everything so you don’t have to remember!! This is a lifesaver!!

Easy to use. Quick and easy to use

Wont let me unsubscribe. I didn’t even sign up all the way and it wont let me completely unsubscribe to their emails.

Helpful business tool. Helps me keep track of the mileage that is allocated to my business.

Duplicate drives. I’ve been a happy Mile IQ user for years, but since the arrival of the revamped app, many drives are duplicated. That and the loss of the undo button are the reason for this 2-star review.

Tres apprecié. Excellente application. Je l’utilise à tous les jours. Sans soucis. L’historique est efficace.

Set and leave. Great for tracking, saves stress at year end finalizing KM to CRA. Well worth the $8/mo

Very good app. I refer it to all my clients

Works great and saves time. I don’t have to write everything down anymore.

Works exactly as I hoped. Does everything I need it to do to make sure I’m getting my miles logged to claim for tax time.

En français SVP. En français

Awesome app. Makes tracking and classifying easy

Lady Organized. Super great! So easy to track trips for bookkeeping!!

Certain Features are not Available in Canada.. The addition of notes to reports is not available in Canada. This will put you offside with Revenue Canada. That makes it a single star.

Amazing!. ***ALWAYS LEAVE APP OPEN*** As long as you do that, it automatically records every drive. When you have time, you go through them and swipe each separate one either right (business) or left (personal). It also automatically calculates the allowance for those trips. Since they are different in different parts of the country, they also have the local regulations which they apply to calculate the mileage money. If I had to logg all my trips, I would hate it and probably not claim them for tax deduction. GREAT APP!!

Best mileage tracking app!. As a photographer, I travel a lot. It can be hard to remember to log my miles, but this app does it for me. So extremely easy to swipe for business or personal travel. Love the app!

Love it for my business use!. The new interface is so much better, I really like to see the whole trip on the map and not just start and finish points. Good job!

The best mileage tracker. This makes my life so easy to claim mileage allowance at CRA.

Update is bad. Edit Aug 18: it is a bit faster but the swipe feature needs work. Not as smooth and feels sticky. Should be able to “throw” the card left or right, not drag it if that makes sense. Bad UI on new update. It has been a pretty good app before their latest update but now it’s very slow and glitchy. Frustrating UI for sure. I hope they address this.

Great Time Saver. So far this app has been very easy to use.

Easy to use. Works well and easy to use.

Great App!. Has been incredibly useful for tracking business vehicle use

Love this app!. Makes tracking mileage a breeze

Almost ”👌🏽” made 5 stars. Why u ask?….. I absolutely LOVE this app. I can re-name frequents stops to make it easier bit to think each time. My only gripe, it takes too long in-between stops for it to recognize a “trip”, therefore it combines two trips and there’s no option to separate them. This is a problem for me since I am a 1099 independent contractor. I do on demand deliveries. I may be on a personal stop from home to the gas station, then get a hit for a job while at the gas station. When I’m completely done with that job, it will log it from my home to the destination of the delivery. I can’t separate those two trips so I can account for the time/miles that DO need to be recorded. Other than that, great app!

Personally, it didn't work for me.. I used this application for 1 month, everything was fine, so I decided to use the subscription to be able to track my miles, that was in February, the month of February, as I said, everything worked fine, now, in the month of March, I didn't track any miles, I thought it could be a mistake, so Instead of canceling, I left the subscription open in April, May, and it was just June when he told me once again the occasional mile. Talk to support service who for some reason think you don't know anything so they tell you one thing or another. In the end, for me, the application did not work for me, it was a waste of money, ask if I could receive a refund and that is what they least talk to me about in the messages, it only says that I have paid for the GPS that I cannot use the application cetra since it should remain always open (which is the first thing you accept when you download the app) or things x

Great time saver. For roughly $6 a month this tracker keeps up with each of my stops when going around and seeing home health patients. SOOO easy to figure it out or give to a tax professional at year end. No need to record mileage between stops , it does all that for you. It lets you categorize whether it was commute, business, medical, ect. There is one weird thing that happened after downloading the program; the device that sticks to the front windshield that informs the insurance co of how someone drives, started knowing the speed limits on the roads I was on, and knew if I was speeding. That’s not good if you have a heavy foot. Despite that, it’s the best little mileage tracker that I have ever used.

No more trying to remember. I’m so happy with this app. I am constantly on the go for my job. From supply house to customer homes to the shop. I use my personal vehicle on the job and pay for my own gas. Sometimes I’ll do 6 service calls in one day and then be totally lost on how much time I spent where because I didn’t fill out my log sheet. Not anymore. With this app I’m able to keep track of where I’ve been and how long I was there. The app also keeps track of miles I drive for work and I’m able to get accurate miles for gas reimbursement. I get a lot more done when I don’t have paperwork to worry about. Thank you MilageIQ for this great app. I would buy this app if I had to and I don’t spend more on apps ever.

Latest update is six major steps backwards. Unfortunately, the current release of this product is atrocious. Mind you, I’ve been using this product for over five years and I pay for it every year - the undo function is gone. If I make a mistake classifying a drive in order to fix it I have to dive down into editing the drives it’s at least 15 more clicks. - The map behavior is changed. Now, at a glance, I cannot see where I drove, from, or to only the cities on either end to actually see where I was going to, I have to click on Zoom click and see him click on Zoom click on zoom, and then go back out in order to classify the drive. This may sound trivial or picky, but it completely clutters the workflow of simply classifying drives. - switching between vehicles now requires twice as many clicks, and frequently results in the app crashing all together. I have contacted this company multiple times with these questions and complaints. No meaningful response. They said they would fix the missing undo function, but an update come out, and the function is still missing. I suppose the writing was on the wall when Microsoft bought this company. Every time Microsoft buys something they destroy it in the end.

Fantastic & a little disappointing. This is a great way to keep track of not only the amount of time and/ or hours you are on the road for business BUT it is also great for being able to see if there are better ways to spend your time and/ or make your day more efficient. My only complaint is that this app is constantly running and it does eat a little more battery than I would like. Prior to installing this app, my phone had great battery life (despite the amount of calls per day), and now I am charging my phone 2-3 times a day - which has its challenges on job sites. Great APP despite the battery loss - has made keeping track of my time vs $$$$ a breeze.

Very useful, almost perfect. Overall I’m very happy with MileIQ. It’s simple and streamlined, and doesn’t require much from the user after initial setup - just make sure the app is running and go. Every once in a while it misses a short drive that’s less than a mile, but it’s not difficult to add that afterwards. One area that could be improved upon is options for classifying drives that aren’t in your vehicle. This isn’t an issue for me since I’m driving my car 99.9% of the time, but if I had to use a bus or subway on a regular basis or often got a ride from a friend, going through and deleting all of those drives would be annoying.

Keeps track of driving very well. Does a great job keeping track of driving. The one thing I wish is sometimes I make a quick stop and I notice I have to wait at the location for a few minutes (about 3-5 min) for the app to recognize this was a stop. Wish there was a way I could manually tell the app I’ve stopped and arrived at my destination in an effort to count it as a trip immediately. instead I have to wait for the app to internally recognize a stop has been made to then log the trip. Not a big deal because I usually do email or return a phone call while I wait for the app to show the trip, but would be better if I could log it immediately instead of working around the app software. In the end it’s easier than a scratchpad or manual log!

Update: Great for Subcontractors. This app at first is a bit weird, it tracks every trip. So to those reading this, make sure you go through your trip log daily and sort through each one (later it will let you auto classify frequent drives). Other than that at first its great. I drive for Lyft, and work as a Subcontractor for dealerships. So I'm constantly driving around, then when i make personal trips, its great for that too because I can swipe left and itll classify as personal. It is really easy to use, just at least once a day get on and make sure you classify everything so you dont forget what trips are business or personal. Other than the good things biggest con, it drains your battery. Constantly running and when you set it to while using the app (in location settings on IOS) it wont work....

Save time. Deduct more.. I’ve had mileage deductions for years and it’s always been a hassle to keep track of it and/or go back and calculate. Not only does this make tracking easier, it makes me consider every drive—many is which I probably would have missed counting—and it tracks mileage if I get lost and take the long way. To the guy who’s complaining about missing stops...I have noticed that if I make a very brief stop—say to drop someone off or something—it doesn’t necessarily end the drive at that stop as it’s probably not much longer of a stop than a long stop light. But it’s still tracking the miles! There may be several “stops” in one drive. Still works for me. So thankful for this app! Totally worth the $ to not have to track on my own!!

Saves me HOURS every month!. This app saves me hours every month when I do my expense report and mileage log! It catches drives that would’ve otherwise been forgotten and he is able to produce a CSV file that I can dump right into excel. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is that I would like the available input/output fields to be customizable and arrangeable so the report that is generated more closely mirrors my company’s expense report/mileage log. I understand that the fields generated are the ones required for tax purposes so including them in the report would still be important, but I would rather be able to sort or eliminate them from the custom CSV report. I would also like to see a box added for expenses other than parking, though it is not directly related to mileage.

Excellent mileage tracker. I’m a Real Estate agent and tracking mileage is a must! Has taken a chore that I was not good at doing consistently (manually) and made it automatic. I’ve been using for over 3 years now and it captures 99% of drives. Can manually add through desktop version any drives that are missed - usually only a handful each year. I’ve set a reminder to classify drives every night so I can do it while fresh in my mind. Usually takes only a minute or two to document reason for trip and then swipe right for business or left for personal. I print off monthly reports to document my mileage reimbursement from my LLC to me. Simple, quick and well documented!

Pretty accurate, needs to get used to.. Was put on to this app for making mileage tracking easier for expense reporting. Tried it mid week in the last week of November and was frustrated that it got several drives incomplete and from different locations than I was at. Example: stopped for gas on a business trip and lost the first half of the journey. On the flip side, it is easy to edit out mistakes on the web based screens @ MileIQ site. Found that once I named the 19 stops I frequent on trips during the month, it was a breeze to get the app to be a lot more accurate. Going to try this for the month of December and might buy an unlimited package. Forty drives will only last about ten working days as a network and computer field tech. Maybe the developers should consider an initial 80 drives for the first month and then forty after that (?).

Consistently 20% off of my actual mileage. I’ve been testing the paid version this last month driving for Uber and Lyft and the daily mileage compared to my odometer is always about 20% short. From MileIQ: You will notice a difference in mileage if you are comparing the mileage to a navigation application. MileIQ tracks differently than a GPS tracker. MileIQ tracks the start and end point of every drive and generates the most likely route that was taken, which is usually the fastest time/route. What this means is that MileIQ does not actually track the route you drive, rather it tracks the most likely route between point A and B. This method doesn’t work for Rideshare because there is not enough wait time to register the end of a trip(it takes a few minutes). And multiple trips are combined into a single trip With one start and endpoint. I find the app Hurdlr to be much more accurate (within about 4%) even though they also combine trips.

Doesn’t Record The Drive Locations.. If you own a service business and you run around town calling on clients when you export this to excel all it’ll say is city to city with no exact coordinates or map locations. This is a useless piece of garbage. How can I find out from where I traveled from to where I traveled to? How can I tell how many times I’ve serviced the same customer when I export. These designers are thoughtless and clueless as to what people need. How this app has 4.6 stars has to be all fake. Nothing it exports is useful. I am sorry I assumed this would replace my Automatic (the company that went out of business that attached an OBDII and tracked mileage on my phone. What a huge disillusionment.)

Number one in purpose, sometimes flaky!. Before today I would’ve rated this app 5+out of 5! But classifying this week’s drives I encountered at least 5 drives I never made! I sent them in for review, we’ll see what happens! But otherwise, this software is worth its effort in tracking mileage that an absent-minded individual don’t always track in his business! So without it I would lose hundreds of dollars a week in lost revenue for not tracking start/stop mileage! And I’ll still give it 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone needing to track their mileage for billing and tax purposes! UPDATE - Within a day of posting this review I had an email asking me to contact their support desk for further scrutinizing of these ghost runs. Since they were such small potatoes in mileage I responded that it simply wasn’t worth the added effort, but thanked them for their prompt response! Would I purchase this software again? In a heartbeat! If you travel in your profession as G’s need to track mileage this is one Microsoft product that one can’t live without!!! Kudos to the team(s) that were wrote & support this product!!!

Work tool. Purchased this MileIQ app for a new job. Tracking my work vs personal driving was critically important to me and this App has become an invaluable tool. I cannot use this app directly for reporting mileage to the office - but - it has saved my tail a few times when I desperately needed a reference point. The detailed reporting is amazing. MileIQ has save me not only time but money, for example, I'd vaguely recall a series of drives through a week/weekend but never really confident because each time I rethink the route, I'd almost always remember another stop that was not previously counted. That is time consuming and frustrating, MileIQ is NONE of those things :) MileIQ is very user friendly. I'm able to easily access recent road trips, develop personal cataloging information, all combined with a simple (.pdf) export feature... what more could you ask for? Don't tell the developers, but I would have paid WAY more money to have saved this much time. I drive >30,000 miles each year, I'm confident that those miles will be accurately logged from here on out. Another satisfied customer looking to share my personal experience with MileIQ. Thanks!

Update - theta fixed me immediately. I left my original response below. Literally 2 minutes after hitting submit, MileIQ customer support called me back and got me fixed in less than 5 minutes. Back to 5 stars Bc I do love this app which is why I’ve used it for years. I thought they let me down but they didn’t! I’m so angry with y’all right now. I’ve been paying y’all every month for years yet all of a sudden, my account is limited to 40 miles which means it hasn’t been tracking my mileage for MONTHS which means I can’t accurately track my mileage for my taxes. I need a refund on EVERY SINGLE MONTH that’s limited to 49 drives because this is outrageous. I’ve called and I tried the chat and y’all haven't responded. This is beyond unacceptable.

What is the purpose a mileage tracker app if not accurate?. I’ve using Mileage IQ since March last year. Now that is time to report taxes I’ve been analyzing my trips and noticed I am missing some drives and realized that the app doesn’t detect if you don’t stop for several minutes (not sure how many. Called support and the guy said between 10-15 minutes). Here is my review for each of the sale points mentioned in the description: - Easy to use. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very easy to classify the drive with a second level classification for personal and business drives. - Automatic Mileage detection. ⭐️⭐️ It doesn't detect a final stop less than 10-15 minutes. It would be great to have the ability in the app to indicate the drive is ended. - Accurate Mileage Tracking. ⭐️⭐️ Most critical feature of the app. If miles are not accurate what is the purpose of using it? - A custom fit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Web version very useful for analyzing and bulk classification. In general it is a great app but accuracy issues have to be fixed. I called support and the guy said there are new features being tested so would like to know when will be released. Please don’t redirect me to email support as I’ve seen this issue being reported at least since 2017 with the same response (transparency is important)!

Almost made it to 5 stars. I’m pretty particular when it comes to how I view things that are either working or not for me. This app is fairly easy to use , still not sure about having to set settings to an always on. You will need to go into actual web account for them and not the app if you need to modify your past drives. For the first few months of running my own company I did my paperwork old school which ment allot of flipping around here and there to locate who was associated with what address and get their milage logged correctly. But with moleIQ it’s just get in car and go. Only problem with their map and my location is I have 2 customer that have houses back to back so I’m always having to watch for that one cause it logs me in at wrong place

Lacking key information not worth the price. The app tracks miles easily and is simple to use. The problem is that it is too simple in terms of data and functionality. It tells you in app only total drives, biz vs personal without mileage breakdown. You can have 55 personal drives of a mile each and 3 business drives of 160 miles each but the app makes it look like you have a lot more personal than biz use because the graphic will say 55 personal and 3 biz and even give a percentage based on that, when in reality you have a larger percentage of biz use than personal. If you accidentally categorize something the wrong way, you can’t change it! You have to wait until the end of the month, email the spreadsheet to yourself, find the drive and change the info but then it is only in your local report on your computer. If you resend the report from the app, it is still wrong. Also the reports are not presorted, so that is additional work you have to do. Not sure it is worth the price!

Well worth it. If you’re like me A Private contractor that uses their own vehicle for work honestly this app has help me get tax returns for the last two years without this app if I wrote my real mileage it would look like Fraud but with this app it’ll actually keep track in case you were audited there is something for the IRS to come back and see and that is wonderful last year I wrote off Over $13,000 worth of mileage this year I’m Projected to drive over $15,000 worth of miles that I now have archived in case the IRS wants to check it make sure you stay smart and always check that your CPA is getting your mileage it helps big time

Meh, for my purposes. I need to track mileage a few times a month, maybe three times in one week, then two weeks where I don’t need to track mileage, then two weeks where I might need to track mileage every other day, and sometimes on the weekend. My 40 free drives were used up pretty quickly, very few of which were business related. You can turn off automatic drive detection, for those weeks where it’s all personal, but then you have to remember to turn it back on. If you have business related drives nearly every day, then I would say this app is pretty good for that. Unless you customize everything, the end of month report is pretty generic. It lists the date, how many miles I drove from city to city. For my purposes, my existing Google Sheet does the job... at the end of the month, it IS the report, and I can be as specific with the trip type as I want to be.

Updated review. It was very frustrating trying to get ahold of a person when I couldn’t log into my account, and emails weren’t going through. It took 24 hours (on a weekday, not a holiday) to get a response, and once I got an email, I finally got password reset emails as well. It was very frustrating, but once someone responded, by issues were fixed quickly, and I no longer have a problem. The app saves a lot of time and generally works well, but you need to pay attention to your drives because occasionally the app will miss a couple, and you need to manually input them. It works well for me, as a freelance designer with most drives under 5 miles, but I could see it being problematic for someone that drives a lot more. Overall I’m pretty happy

Very Convenient yet sometimes inaccurate. Overall I really enjoy this app! Is very easy to use and it sure beats me recording everything myself! For $5 and change a month I’m happy with what I’ve received so far. However, the app is not perfect. I sometimes drive through rural areas with no service and some of my very long drives get missed. This is remedied by being able to manual enter the missed drives on my laptop. I would caution anyone who believes the app can record each and every one of your drives no matter your location. Understandably, this is not the case. My advice is to keep an eye out for missed drives from time to time and you shouldn’t have a problem. Excellent app!

5 star convenience. 3 star performance.. I downloaded this app to help track mileage for a part time gig. App got stuck on the report page and I was unable to get back to my current drive tracking screen showing the map. After shutting off and on my new iPhone, I gave up on the app and ignored it the rest of the evening, resorting to tracking my mileage manually. Low and behold, by the time I got home the app was on the correct tracking screen AND logged my mileage correctly. It actually reflected each of my stops accurately. I had to go edit the trips with the swipe feature after the fact. I only hope it works when I actually need it. It would be super convenient to use. Developer, please improve the app performance reliability.

Paid for itself in 10 days.. Used the 40 free trips then bought the unlimited annual subscription. I do not log a tremendous amount of miles. I was surprised how many trips, that were business related, that without this app, I was simply ignoring. Very conservatively, this app will save me more than $1000 annually on my trips alone. I don't mean more than $1000 in tax deductions, I mean $1000, in my pocket, after taxes. Please note, that I am being very careful not to include personal trips. Of the 308 miles I have driven since installing the app, only 120 miles were for business. Nevertheless, that is $68 logged in less than 10 days. If you own your own business, this app is indescribable.

Drive Alerts. I was so pleased with and impressed by the quick turnaround on a feature I requested. Because I drive a lot for work and pleasure, and just living the standard busy life of a working American, I always forgot to classify my drives and then would sometimes forget where I’d been when trying to classify the drives days, weeks or months later. I asked MileIQ to set up a notification to alert drivers at the end of each drive to classify it right away. Within a few days, it was done! No more forgetting to classify those deductible business miles! For business mileage tracking purposes, this app provides a simple way to keep you organized and ready for tax season.

First Ever Review. This app saved my life when other much more expensive programs like quickbooks failed to track, which I didn’t find out till longer after the fact. Luckily I could go back to MileIQ, and it’s actually much easier to keep track. Memorizes frequent locations and such. The only suggestion I would have is a multiple business feature, which was the only reason I was trying so desperately to make quickbooks mileage tracker work. With qb, you have to log in to a location and that’s how it keeps mileage separated per business. MileIQ only lets you choose whether business or personal, and then some categories relative to each, like errands/supplies, customer visit, meeting, meal, travel, etc.

Worked great, until it didn’t. I’m disappointed in MileIQ for two reasons. The first is because tonight I discovered that MileIQ had lost 2 1/2 months worth of my data and in attempting to figure out why and recover the data I got only one answer - after the last update, apparently the app stopped working and they still haven’t fixed it. I spent an hour to get that answer. No real apology. No promised reimbursement. Just, yeah we did an update and now it doesn’t work. So, obviously that’s an easy reason to be disappointed. But the other reason that I’m disappointed is that for the previous five years mile IQ has been fantastic! And now, after consistently doing the job for five years, I’m left to start all over again and find a new app. I don’t WANT to find a new app – but I have to have an app that actually works. Too bad MileIQ - I liked you a lot, until I didn’t.

Mileage varies. I hate writing bad reviews. But let’s be clear. IRS audits can ruin lives and good record keeping makes the difference. First of all the IRS wants your odometer readings on your log. Second of all, the accuracy of the readings better be convincing. I installed mileage IQ on my iPhone 14, my wife’s iPhone 14, my business phone iPhone SE 2020 and I reset the tripometer in my car. We then drove around for about an hour doing geocaches in the area. Car said I had done 24.7 miles. Mileage IQ on my phone said 27.9. My wife’s phone said 22.7. The business phone said 32.1. None of those numbers on the app would make the IRS stop auditing my miles. In fact for negligence they might even tell me I cannot take a mileage deduction. I am going to keep a paper log and track it on a spreadsheet. Better safe than sorry. Read what the IRS wants in your log and be sure to include it! We aren’t keeping track of miles for us. We’re doing it for them. Accuracy is way more important than convenience!

Good luck trying to cancel your subscription. VERY hard to cancel your subscription. I feel like I keep getting the run around. I purchased the app on my iPhone and no longer needed it. But when I tried to cancel there wasn’t an option to cancel in the settings/General/iTunes/appleId/subscriptions like every other app I subscribe too has. I’ve had to email support several times still without resolution. Very dissatisfied. I’ve sent multiple emails and opened several tickets to resolve this and finally I was told that I had to contact Apple support that you couldn’t do anything about that. I don’t think it’s right for a customer to have to go through that process when every other app subscription I have has the option to cancel subscription. Meanwhile I’m still paying 5.99/mo for a service I no longer want or need. Resolve this and I will change my review otherwise this review stands as is.

Easy to keep track of my driving. If you’re looking to categorize your rides MileIQ is the perfect app. The app makes it easy to identify when you are driving and whether you want to categorize the drive for work or personal. You can be very general or you can go more in-depth about the drive. The one thing I enjoy is it calculates how much you should earn back from your business drives. Also if it recognizes routes that you take often it can automatically categorize them for you. There is no reason you shouldn’t get this app if you need to keep track of your driving for work. Also the subscription is inexpensive and we’ll worth it.

Easy, Powerful Tool. If you are like me, you simply don’t remember how much you drive if you for business purposes. What really surprised me were the simple trips to a nearby client. A few miles here and there quickly turn into hundreds of dollars that are so easy to forget. The great part about this app is that it does the thinking for you. And not being owned and operated by a fly-by-night company gives me peace of mind that at the end of the year the data will still be there. As far as how easy it is to use - just swipe for each trip - left for personal, right for business. Tolls, parking, and other notes are available with each swipe. At the end of your reimbursement cycle or at tax time, the data can be exported into a spreadsheet or PDF for detailed backup. Highly recommend.

Minimal Features and Updates. This app does the job in a minimal fashion. Sometimes it misses drives completely. Most of the time when that happens you get half the drive. If you make a typo in a business category - live with it because it will be there forever. You can neither edit nor delete it. Of course you can always create another category and then ignore the bad one, however after a while you end up with a growing list of categories to ignore while you try and find the good ones among them. I did put a lot of effort into reporting this to the MileIQ team two years ago. I do not believe they have done much to the app since then. They certainly ignored my input. A pity - because for a relatively expensive and popular app one might hope for better efforts in development.

A REAL Assistant!. I’ve tried many apps that were supposed to “help“ me. But most eventually disappointed… Too hard to learn, too hard to use, too buggy... I tried mile IQ on a lark. I figured, it would be better than my scribbled notes on paper. Well, it’s definitely better than scribbled notes! My very favorite thing about mile IQ, is just getting into a car, going about my day, without giving mileage a second thought. No looking for paper upon which to scribble notes, no keeping those papers organized and available for monthly reports... what a relief. I have a busy life. It took me about six months at a new job to even give my Mile IQ reports a glance. But quickly, and easily, I was able to provide complete and accurate reports to my employer for reimbursement. Going back and filling in the details, was quite a challenge. Although mile IQ makes it incredibly easy to categorize drives, my memory fails after a few weeks. So, I do recommend that you try to stay up-to-date on classifying drives. It’s something I do at night, or in the morning, or as soon as I possibly can after a busy week. I wish all the tools I use to make my life more productive were as helpful as Mile IQ.

Interferes with voice volume on several maps. I have used Mileiq for three years. For the last several months the voice volume on several navigation apps (Apple/Google maps and Waze) would work for a few minutes and then the volume would decrease to an inaudible level. It took me two new iPhones a trip to my carrier and two calls to IPhone to finally figure out it was this app interfering. In the end I had to reset my phone to factory settings and reinstall each app one at a time and then run navigation to see if it would interfere. Minutes after reinstalling Mileiq my voice volume decreased. I immediately uninstalled and have had no problems with voice volume since. I contacted Mileiq and let them know my problem. They would not acknowledge that it was their app interfering. I asked for a partial refund and they refused. Very disappointed in customer service. I have switched to Everlance and have not had any trouble.

Easy but needs improvement. My drives aren’t being logged even though drive detection is on because some of my drives are less than 1/2 mile, so I have to log these in manually. Also the edit feature doesn’t allow me to change the date, time, or location. I’m human and I hit the wrong button sometimes when I am manually logging trips. When I was trying to log trips for the month, I forgot a few times that the date automatically set to today then after I saved, I couldn’t go back and change it. Also, one of my locations was very close to my office and the app put the address as my office even though that’s not what I typed. I can’t change it. I’m willing to delete those trips and redo them, but I don’t see a way to delete. I’m waiting a full month to see if this app is worth the 60 bucks a year.

Great for business mileage/keeping track of your kids whereabouts. I highly recommend this app and do to all my tax clients. Being a tax preparer and having many clients who need to keep their business mileage and good record keeping, I always recommend this app. I recommend it so much I should be getting it free!!! Lol. Seriously this app is a no brainer and worth the little extra I pay a month and also very good because I have it on my sons phone who is 9. His is connected to my phone so I see where all he goes when he is on the bus, with his dad or friends and if he was to ever be taken or go somewhere he doesn’t belong I would at least have some idea where to look. Such a good thing and wasn’t planning it for that but very helpful.

So easy!. Overall I really love this app. I do not have the patience to keep a paper mileage log but I do a ton of business driving. The app paid for itself in less than a week. So far it records my drives with 100% accuracy. Love the auto classify feature. I do wish for a couple improvements...1. I wish it were possible to adjust the miles allocated to a trip on my phone. 2. I wish I could auto-classify a frequent drive that is part personal and part business. (That’s why I end up adjusting miles so much). And 3., I wish it were possible to manually end a trip and begin a new one without having to stop for five minutes. It is a wonderful app though, very happy with it. I’ll have a huge deduction this year, it really adds up.

Useful Road Warrior Tool. Regardless of what reason you describe yourself as a road warrior, this app will faithfully keep track of your mileage so you don't have to think about. The app is part of a SaaS service that has its fulfillment with the online website. The website gives you additional editing tools that allow you to link trips, further classify them or rename them. It even has a feature for batch editing a bunch of trips, or grouping trips. You can put different vehicles in your profile, too. If you don't drive much in a month (40 trips or less), you get to use all this for free. Otherwise, expect to pay $5 a month or $60/yr. This should be worth it to anyone serious about keeping a handle on their mileage with minimal fuss.

Great Application and Mileage tracker Feature. I agree with the latest comment made on here concerning the applications, I too would like to see more accuracy. Why? Well because I’m the type of person that likes to trial an application before I pay for it. Why you ask? I would say because too many apps on here want you to purchase them and they don’t even function anywhere close to what it is intended for example, the mileage tracker right now is is hit and miss when tracking my commutes and even updates or uploads way late and I forget why I drove there. This app is supposed to keep track of it. If, I have to write anything down than what’s the purpose of me paying for this?

Awesome for Service Type Businesses!. I have used this app since the beginning. I had a pet sitting biz (25+yrs) now I do landscaping. MileIQ is perfect when charging for service time & labor. You have the ability to sort, generate a report and give the customer near exact start and finish times. Since it is GPS triggered it takes the guesswork out and you have little chance of a customer questioning when or if you were there! Random use: there was a attempted break-in at a clients home. It happened sometime between my visits. When the police arrived I showed them MileIQ app with the window of time from my leaving then returning so there was no question when this happened. PLUS it takes the guess work out of tax time; biz vs personal travel. Pretty cool, huh!!

Latest update broke the app. The latest update a few weeks ago broke the app where it no longer was recording any of my drives. When I accessed the app, it gave an error message saying that it couldn’t connect to the internet (when all my other apps worked fine). Also some of my settings were reset. As a result no logs were recorded. Fortunately it was easily fixed by logging out and logging back in. However, at no point did the app warn me there was a connection issue. I had been trusting the app up to this point for warnings and left it running in the background without monitoring it much. But these last few weeks that were lost costed me a lot of miles. Don’t trust this app to warn you if there is an issue. At this point I have to decide if I want to babysit this app constantly for potential failures again or switch over to another program.

Awesome. Awesome way to track miles. Don’t have to concern myself with having to think where I went. Are usually a sign what my miles were at the end of the day so I have an idea of what happened That day. Tracks even when I take the bus to work so I have to make sure that I check the times and make sure not to report those miles but overall really easy and get a way of keeping track of miles. I drive long distance is of about 25 miles or more so I haven’t had any issues with trips being missed. Awesome app! I’m not sure what updates they can do to make it better but I hope it makes it run even smoother.

Not sure what to think. I've had this app for about 5 to 6 months now… I use it because a lot of other people do, and that gives it credibility in my mind… However, sometimes I would swear to myself that it misses a trip here and there. Today I was swiping through the trips, and I noticed a trip that went from an old place of residence of mine, to a job that I haven't worked at for months. When I saw that it was on a Friday that was on the 8th, I realized that the trip was from back in September 2017 and it is currently the middle of December 2017. I'm really hoping that this app becomes trustworthy and reliable, because I love the interface and it has already really made a name for itself. Unfortunately, for people to trust anything to do with their taxes, it really is going to need a lot of improving.

HORRIBLE APP UPDATE. I have used Mile IQ for years and LOVED it! It was so easy and simple to log my miles for my business. I drive a lot of miles and so it’s important to me to have something easy to track my miles for me to save me time. However, the new update that came about in August is absolutely AWFUL! It is glitchy and complicated. There is no button to undue an incorrectly logged drive, certain drives completely disappear, when you want to classify a business drive and try to scroll down, it just glitches and goes to whatever category, it is so much more time to go back and edit the drives if you messed up on one, you can’t delete categories from your personalized lists. I’m sure there’s more wrong but that’s what I encountered in just one sitting of going through my mileage. PLEASE fix these horrible updates to the app 🙏 I am so sorry to be a Karen and this is the first review I have ever written in my life but I truly loved MileIQ and am so sad to see it ruined by this update.

It is great, but it works like a teenager, when it wants to. Overall it has found most of my drives and made categorizing them easy. But... it is far from failsafe. It has just stopped recording drives a few times and the only way to fix it has been to uninstall and start over. It has missed more than a few drives. Okay I guess when you are running to the store, not okay when you drove 45 miles each way to meet a client. Neither is okay actually as your mileage log is hogwash. It sometimes categorizes walks as drives... I think I walk quick, but my even my sprint isn’t drive like... I’ve decided to try some other similar apps. If they can’t get things straight maybe I’ll be back, maybe I’ll go back to paper. Oh how the idea of a swipe right or left to track miles was a great idea.

Great App but.... When I find a discrepancy, it cannot be fixed with the phone app. I have to use a computer to go online into the Dashboard to correct them. I can’t even log in via a browser on my phone! There is no place to log in from my phone. So it’s quite inconvenient to have to find a computer to use when I’m traveling. All features should be accessible through the MileIQ app! That being said, I contacted support regarding an issue. I was contacted within 24 hours with a support person who really cared about my issue and was willing to go the extra mile (no pun intended 😬). However, my issue as stated above can only be fixed via computer not through the app. So still no resolution. But I do like the app. Much easier than logging miles!

Must have for certain jobs!. I’m an installation and service technician, so my job requires me to drive quite a bit from house to house, sometimes building up to around 2.5 hours of driving every day. Fortunately, because I’m driving so much for work, I’ll be able to take advantage of the tax implications. However, keeping track of all of the driving I do would be nearly impossible, most certainly stressful, and too time consuming to do myself. This app is incredible, especially since I don’t need to have it open all the time or initiate something when I begin driving. It just tracks and automatically detects when and where I’m going. Invaluable - $6/month is more than fair for the unlimited plan.
