A few suggestions.... I love eMeals. I was a previous user before the apps were available and now a user again. I do have a couple suggestions that would help my family of very picky eaters... mostly my husband. I’d LOVE a way to favorite meals and keep them in a stored location so that when the meal plans come in for the week and we find only one or two that we will eat; we can go to our favorites and exchange them for what’s on the menu. It would be awesome if those integrated into the shopping list as well. Right now I write down all the recipes and rate them, then file them away somewhere to be used when I need more options. I have to manually enter everything into my shopping list. I’d also encourage creating an easier way to switch through the menus without having to “subscribe”. As stated earlier, because my hubby is so picky, I visit all menus types to find meals we will eat. This would just make it easier to find meals in all categories. Also- a Keto plan would be amazing! Thanks for listening!

Best All Around!. I’ve been an eMeals subscriber off and on for the last 10 years. I was on the fence about keeping my subscription until the last update. Now it allows you to pick and choose from all meal plans to seamlessly create your weekly shopping list. We eat very varied meals from one day to the next...Gluten-free, Paleo, Keto, Slow-cooker, Low-Carb. We are active and also do some carb-cycling (low carb for a few days then high carb.) I don’t want to be locked into one genre of meals and until now I’ve never found a meal plan that has been able to accommodate how we eat! The app now allows and makes it super easy to browse and add meals to your list from every different meal plan. I also love that you can add your own additional grocery items to the list as well. All of this combined makes this app a one-stop-shop for me! Something I’d like to see in a future update is the ability to add your own recipes and then be able to choose from them and have it added to the list as well. Thanks for listening to customer feedback all along the way and keep up the good work!

GAME CHANGER !!. I’ve been using eMeals for the past three years and I absolutely LOVE IT! It used to take me 2-3 hours a week to plan and shop for my groceries - now it literally takes minutes. Just a few taps and my groceries are on their way to Walmart for pickup the next day. Along with the shopping, the recipes have been a huge game changer for me!! They are not only delicious but also incredibly convenient. Before eMeals, I was in a dinner rut, constantly making the same dinners over and over again. I didn’t know how to add variety without spending hours searching the internet for recipes and writing down ingredients. This app cuts out the time spent searching by providing you with an updated list of recipes every week according to the meal plan you’re on (I typically use Quick and Healthy but often switch between 30 minute, Keto, and Kid Friendly). Once you find a recipe you want to try, you simply select it, and the app turns the recipe into an ingredient list that you can send straight to the store…it’s like magic! Honestly, I can’t imagine going back to life before eMeals. Huge thanks to the eMeals team for making my life so much easier!

Loving this app!. I’ve been using this app for about six months and I love it. Each week, I choose about 4 meals and I send the ingredients I need to my local grocery store for pickup. The few complaints I have had have been fixed with the most recent update—mainly, I wanted to make notes on the recipes. My family has adored 85-90% of the recipes we have tried. A few, I made some tweaks knowing what I like—thus wanting to make notes. I do wish I could make my weekly list using the computer (but if I had an iPad with keyboard that would fix that problem!), but it’s not that big of a deal. When I first joined, I made the mistake of not saving my favorite recipes, so when the new week started I lost the recipes (didn’t remember the name, etc). I quickly learned to save what I loved so I could repeat recipes. Now, you can search for recipes, make notes, and select from similar recipes or by protein. Now, if they just loaded the app with WW-friendly selections it would be perfect!

A Few Tweaks Would Make This Great!. I've been using emeals for about a year now. Overall it had been really helpful, but there are a few minor tweaks that could make it really great. First and foremost... Add nutritional info for every recipe!!!! I want to know what I'm eating and I hate that I have to use a separate app to calculate the nutritional info for the recipes. The nutritional info is included in some off the plans like the low calorie plan, but not most of the other plans. This should be standard!! Also, there is no way to filter out recipes that don't fit into my diet. I do not eat any red meat or pork, but I do eat poultry and fish, so I end up having to search through several different meal plans to find a week's worth of recipes that work for me. (Which sort of defeats the purpose of paying for a service that is supposed to plan your meals for you) Lastly, why do you need to subscribe to one meal plan instead of just being able to go to the library and see everything??? I know you can easily switch between plans, but why is this even a thing? Why can't you just see all the plans available on your dashboard and then pick and choose???

Keto anyone?. I came back to eMeals after several years after letting my subscription lapse. Boy, am I glad I did. You see, hubby, because of his pre-diabetes, wants to eat “Keto”. I said, okay, even though I didn’t really know that much about making Keto meals. You see, I was under the impression it was all about “meat and green beans or salad”….ugh! But boy was I ever wrong thanks to eMeals. I signed up for the Keto dinner meals for 2. I’ve been using these menus for the past two weeks now and I must admit, these dinners are absolutely DELICIOUS. I can’t believe I’m eating Cauliflower and actually like it - but I do. I like the way you can transfer the recipes directly to your grocery store and still have the option to edit and/or add other items to your cart. I love how I can print out the recipes instead of keeping my IPad in the kitchen. I also love how I can choose from several different Keto menus each week. You know, when it comes right down to it, I can’t really think of anything NOT to love about eMeals. And you know what else??? eMeals even gives you a free two week trial period. I am so glad eMeals reached back out to me - I’m definitely sold on this plan. Give it a try…..you’ll be sold as well!

Better for my family than box meal prep plans. I felt like we were in a meal rut and dreaded making a menu each week so we tried Hello Fresh, but it was not a good fit for our family. We didn’t love the meat, I didn’t like the inability to substitute things (like chicken for beef or fish, etc) or really tweak the recipes much (I cook a lot and like to adapt recipes for my family’s taste). A friend used eMeals and recommended it. And I had tried her eMeals recipe for potato kale soup (a big favorite in my house). I wasn’t sure about paying a subscription for just recipes, but it really is worth it. I can sit down on the weekend and scroll through the recipes, pick a few and put them on my list. I can shop for my own ingredients, don’t get shipped condiments that I don’t need/already have, can adapt the recipe to my linking. If my family loves it, I can add it to my favorites so I can get that recipe anytime I need it. Most of the meals are pretty easy and quick and have good shortcuts. Love the recipes and the flexibility!

I love this App!. I hate cooking and have had to adjust in this Covid world but also because my husband is in law school, we need to eat most of our meals at home. I can, for the first time ever, say I enjoy cooking now with these easy meals that are super tasty too! They are not gourmet by any means but it’s the type of food that transports you to your childhood when home cooked meals were common and one of the best parts of your day. I tend to get overwhelmed when meal planning and feeling like I have to go above and beyond to cook. But with this app, I feel like the pressure has been taken off to cook elaborate meals I find on the internet and instead me and my husband can just enjoy a tasty meal together, without the stress. It’s all very approachable and you know the ingredients will be available at your local grocery store. I do have to say that I wish they partnered with Tom Thumb because it’s the store I prefer but, I use Kroger with the app and it’s not nearly as much of an inconvenience as meal planning was before. It’s a life saver in my eyes! I highly recommend it!

Used to love this. I used to really like this ap. Raved about it to all my friends. Been using it for years. There have been good menu updates that made it more flexible to create your own weekly menu. Where it lacks gusto is printing recipes and printing or sharing the custom grocery list. I have made numerous suggestions to fix it. Get lip service “passing it along”. To print the recipe from your phone you needed to share it with yourself in a link to a text (no link to print in the AP) … that provides the print option. But now many of the recipes will not “share”. That also allowed a cut and paste option for the ingredients to create a grocery list to print or share. I create the meal plans but I share the cooking and grocery shopping with others in the household. These suggested updates are so simple to make …but for some reason they just won’t do it. Loosing a good customer over it.

Happy Family. My husband and I are both teachers who are both also in graduate school. Keeping up with our jobs, school and three children is time consuming to say the least. We struggled for the last two years to try to regularly cook at home and not eat out. Too often, groceries ended up going bad because trying to figure out what to make and coordinate everything we needed for it took a lot of time and energy. We’ve been using EMeals for two weeks and it has been life changing for us. We haven’t eaten out once and so far my whole family has liked the majority of the recipes. I love that you can save your favorites to use again and that you can browse other menus to make it fit your family. Everything you need is in one place and is easy to access (meal plans, grocery list, step by step recipes). We will definitely continue to use this app and are more than happy to pay $59 a year if it helps us to eat at home rather than eating out.

Wife, mother of four approved!. We are full-time working parents with a teenager and three kiddos under four. I needed a quick and easy way to meal plan and this has been the HANDS-DOWN best app for that purpose. We used the wal-mart online shopping and pick-up and I couldn’t have been more pleased. With three kids in car seats the last thing I want to do is take them all out and shop. I picked the meals I wanted for the week in the app, added them to the shopping list, selected the items I didn’t already have and submitted them to wal-mart (through the account I already have), told them when I would be there to pick it up and bam! All done. Picked up the items and back home to prep. This app may cost money but the time, energy and yelling you cut back on is priceless. My husband is amazed and it saves us mo st because we don’t sporadically order pizza or Chinese on those nights neither of us feel like cooking. Money-saver, sanity-saver, parents dream!

Game-Changer! Makes cooking fun again ❤️. This app has made meal planning so easy! It loads groceries into my existing Wal-Mart order and makes cooking fun again! I don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner, I just look at the meals I’ve picked and decide which one I want to make, knowing I have all the ingredients on hand. I also love the “cook mode” where it shows you the directions enlarged, which is a huge help when trying to measure ingredients and read at the same time. To comment on the customer service, I have emailed them twice with billing questions and received a response within 1-2 days each time. They were able to cancel the “breakfast/lunch” upgrade portion of my subscription via email, so I have no complaints about customer service. The only suggestion I have is that I would love it if there was a way to add personal notes to the recipes in my favorites list for the next time I make them.

Life-changer. This app has revolutionized my cooking life. The ease of picking out meals and adding ingredients to Walmart grocery shopping (with home delivery!!!) takes the difficult decisions out of meal planning and frees my brain to tackle more important things. I used to enjoy cooking but found that the extra effort required to meal plan, work and run a household was causing us to eat more and more processed food. With emeals, I find that choosing meals and assembling the ingredients is greatly simplified. We are eating healthier, more produce and more variety now. I had a small learning curve with emeals. I have found it critical which meal plan and size I choose. Quick and healthy for 2 has been a perfect fit for us. The kid friendly meal plan didn’t necessarily fit with my family’s tastes. And the family size made too much food and left too many leftovers. I think this is the first review I have ever left for an app or product, but I am so thankful for emeals that I wanted to share my experience.

Solves All my dinner problems. 1- saves time- it’s fast and efficient. I can send the grocery list to the Walmart app if I don’t have time to shop and use their pickup feature or I can use the list on app to quickly fly through store and get what I need in person, fast. 2-Saves Money- in the clean eating plan (and maybe others) the recipes call for produce that is in season and usually on sale. The recipes call for ingredients and spices that usually already have on hand so I’m only buying the protein and produce I need- no exotic (read expensive) ingredients that hurt my budget 3-saves the waistline- my cooking is consistently healthier using the recipes in the app. Making a healthy weekly meal plan takes maybe 5 minutes and ensures that I will have all the ingredients to stay on track w healthy eating all week. Bonus- new to cooking? Try this. The recipes are simple and you will get faster w every meal you cook. If you can read and follow directions you can cook these meals. Another bonus- the recipes taste great and having a plan encourages my kids to try a variety of veggies and foods we might not try. When my kids want a break from my “healthy meals” I let them pick a meal from the kid friendly plan and they help me cook it. Do I sound like an ad for emeals? Probably! It’s saved me so much time and money that I love to tell people about it. I’ve been using emeals for years and I love it.

Update please. This app needs to hire a consultant that understands restricted diets—or just read my review! All the vegan recipes include non-vegan items like dairy. Why label them vegan then? I’m not vegan, but must eat dairy and egg-free so rely on vegan recipes—but this is very arduous to find meals I can eat when every “vegan” recipe I click on still has things like dairy. Call them vegetarian. Also plant-based is vegan—NOT vegetarian! Quit calling vegetarian recipes plant-based. Also, I cannot eat gluten, corn, or beef… but there’s no way to “filter” the recipes to leave out recipes with those ingredients. This could be so simple to add! You must add a filter-feature so that I don’t have to scroll through tons of recipes I can’t eat—and don’t know which is which until I click on them and read the ingredients. Also, it should be easier to substitute an ingredient in the grocery list. If I add a vegetarian recipe to my shopping list, I should be able to click on the cheese, for example, and choose a plant-based cheese to replace it. So many easy fixes, if they would just consult people who have dietary restrictions or hire a consultant who understands these basic things! I’m canceling my trial.

Long time user. I’ve been using eMeals for three years. Love the quick using it to get delicious meals to our table. I typically pick 3 to 4 recipes each week to make. Most recently I’ve been using the Walmart pick up. I am enjoying The easiness it is to get the recipes, the shopping list and food within less than 30 minutes of my time. I have used several different plans with Emeals. All of the plans have delicious recipes. I’ve only been disappointed maybe once or twice in the three years I’ve been using emeals. I could’ve been disappointed by pulling a recipe out of the cookbook as well. I like the pictures the easy follow along recipes I could’ve been disappointed by pulling a recipe out of a cookbook as well. I like the pictures easy follow along recipes. I like that I can save recipes. I’d like that I use several different items in my week. For example I can buy 8 quart of cream for one recipe that only needs 2 tablespoons in the next recipe is going to need 2 cups. Instead of buying a pint of cream for 2 tablespoons. I have shared many recipes with friends and family.I have introduced Emeals to As many people as I can. I love Emeals!

A work in progress. There are a lot of good things about this service. All the meals have been good. It has streamlined meal planning and I love the Instacart and Walmart pickup options. I will continue using emeals after my free trial ends and it’s one of the best subscriptions I’ve gotten since it saves me ~7 hours a week meal planning, searching out new recipes, shopping and cooking since all the meals I’ve done are 20-30 min. And they’re realistic times, not the people on chopped can do it that fast. But this is not a review of the service, it’s a review of the app. Which is missing quite a few necessary features. I want to make notes on the recipes, like if I am making a substitution based on what I have on hand. Or being able to rearrange my weekly plan based on what day of the week I want to make it. Or mark when I’ve made it so it goes to the bottom of the weekly list grayed out. I still have to have a paper solution for my meal plan to keep track of things before handing it off to my husband. Which is the exact opposite of what this app promises. The developers seem to be making updates regularly, so hopefully this will be addressed soon.

Repeat Customer. As a repeat customer (3 non-consecutive years - about every other year) eMeals serves its and my purpose of meal and grocery planning. In that time, I’ve had a good opportunity to try see and try a variety of meals and plans. I really enjoyed it the first year, less the second, and this will probably be my last. Why? Because the menus have become less and less tempting. I’m not a Foodie nor do I require something new EVERY DAY. I’d like to see recipes rated by eMeals (through customer input - maybe a click of a rating button on each recipe) so that recipes are more frequently reused. I’d also like to see more just plain, standard fare. And definitely less fish or a no fish option - 4 of 5 in my family doesn’t like it or is allergic to it - 2 meals a week on average cuts my use of the service down to 70%, not to mention the more and more frequent meals my family just won’t consider. I am now down to about two useable menus a week. And, of course, I was terribly disappointed when they removed holiday meals from the standard plan and offered them as an add-on. I applaud their attempt to be creative, but it’s backfired for me.

Happy Mama!. The worst part about preparing meals for my family? Thinking up and deciding WHAT to make. eMeals takes that time consuming task away by providing over 20 different meal plans to choose from that you switch in between as often as you like. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. You can save recipes that you really liked and incorporate them into future meal plans if you so desire. They also provide awesome features like generating your grocery list on your phone and you can even add things to it and it will remember them. Another wonderful feature that I love, love, love is the ability to transfer for grocery list into online grocery services through Walmart and Kroger and others depending on your area. You don’t even have to do the shopping in the store!! Simply select each item as it goes through your list, select a date and time you want to pick up your groceries. All this for $5 a month-worth every penny.

Saves time, money, and decisions 😃. As a mom of 3 and a busy executive, I have tried several different meal solutions over the years to help me get homemade meals on the dinner table at night. We eat together every night (with no devices at the table) so having tasty food to feed my family is a high priority for me in this season of my life (before my kids grow up and leave me 😭). I also secretly hope my kids will like my cooking and want to come home often when they head off to college. ☺️ eMeals has been my secret weapon to more easily put food on the table that my kids actually like, and request that I make again. Professionally, I make a lot of decisions, and eMeals allows me to save some decision-making energy by not having to research recipes, decide what to make, make a list, go get everything, make the meal, and then clean up. I really only have to focus on the last 2, which is definitely worth the investment in this great platform. I definitely recommend giving the eMeals platform and their recipes a spin!

Love love LOVE!. Decided to try this app after getting tired of dinner after dinner with complete redundancy. Meat, vegetable, and some sort of starch. We just did what was easy and put no thought into it. I wanted meals with ingredients, and flavor, recipes that were easy to follow. I can’t believe there is actually integration with my local markets, and the ability for the app to drive the shopping list. This app is absolutely amazing, and I have been loving every recipe I’ve made with it. I love the edit feature that each recipe has so that if you make a modification, you can note that and then be able to view it next time. This app has literally changed the way that I grocery shop and has provided fantastic variation, and removed all the stress from planning our nightly family dinners. Absolutely love it! I would love to see a feature added where I can create my own folders within the app to save recipes for future reference.

Best money I’ve ever spent. I have done EMeals on and off for many years and never really stay into the EMeals recipes. This time I decided I’d like some new recipes so I decided to do the 2 week trial, then the 90 day plan just to see if I’d stick with it. I now am addicted and this is how I grocery shop. It’s so cool to be able to find recipes I want, have the shopping list made for me, then click the things I have already at home, then send the rest to the store and have it delivered! This is not only how I get amazing recipes with nutritional information but now how I do my grocery shopping! I got my daughter doing it too! We love it! The only thing that would maybe make it better is to be able to search recipes in your paid for meal plan. Like mine is keto and if I were to say want a recipe with ground beef, it would be awesome to search for some from the past. I’m super grateful for what there is and the search is not a must I still love the app without a search option! Love love love this app.

Super helpful app for the inevitable, daily “what’s for dinner”. I love this app. The weekly meal plans are great, but I especially love that I can pick and swap out meals from different plans to suit what my family would like. The exporting of the shopping list to various stores (Kroger, for me) makes grocery shopping a breeze! A few improvements that would be nice to see: 1. Ability to rate/review meals. It would be great to see what other people thought and/or what variations others came up with. Or a feedback option within the recipe (on the rare occasion that something in the recipe just doesn’t add up and needs to be addressed — has only happened once or twice in the several years I’ve used emeals). 2. It would be nice to see meal plan online (I know I can access meal plan from email, but if i want to swap out meals, I have to do that from my phone — computer would be more convenient sometimes). 3. I don’t know if it is just me and my husband, but we have generally go way over on the projected time that preparing a meal should take. Maybe it’s professional chefs running the clock for prep/cook times and we just aren’t that good, idk But overall, a great app that has made our lives much easier as far as dinner planning is concerned.

Love this app!!. This app had been a game changer for our family. We have used it for 4 months now and I am obsessed. I have yet to have a bad meal! Food doesn’t go to waste because it’s the right portions for our family. The ingredients are similar each week so you aren’t buying a ton of random things. Plus, it’s a huge variety in options. You can switch between meal plans whenever you want. My parents eat low carb so when they are coming for dinner I select from that option. My brother, who comes over a lot is Paleo so we do that once a week too. Then the rest of the week I switch between kid Friendly and classic. Can’t say enough wonderful things about it!! Oh and it sends it right to your Walmart grocery pick up app!! In Less than 20 min I can have our weeks worth of meals planned and my grocery order done. I only wish there was an option to add breakfast and lunch to the meal planning for the week.

Horrible customer service and outdated nutrition. Do NOT give this company your money. To force a phone call to cancel a free trial is ridiculous, especially when customer service support is available online. Yes- it's in the customer service agreement, so shame on me. But. Shame on them as it's simply their way of stealing money. Most of us don't have or take time to make phone calls in our busy lives. If your product is so fantastic, trust that it will stand the test of the free trial, and allow online cancellation like every other subscription service in the modern world. Also, the diabetic plan is so bad for diabetics-- it includes breads, pastas, potatoes, etc. Their response stated they are professional dieticians following ADA guidelines. ADA guidelines, we all know now, are ridiculously outdated and have led, in large part, to today's epidemic levels of diabetes, metabolic disorders, inflammation leading to heart disease, etc. Further, the low-carb menu only includes "net carbs"- which makes a possibly good plan option for diabetics no longer useable. Much improvement to this app needs to be made until I would consider it worthwhile and trustworthy. Don't waste your money.

It’s like meal kit delivery but way cheaper. I really liked getting meal kits but when I decided to start making all my food at home it was too expensive. eMeals was the solution I needed: recipes selected and food purchased without having to deal with the temptations of the grocery store. Pros: - Very affordable! The app is $60/year and I’m eating very well for between $50-75/week. I was spending more than that for half the food in meal kits - You can pick meals from any menu. Your “plan” mostly works to set what is suggested to you. I use this to point myself at the healthiest recipes and I end up picking those the most. - You can pick any number of meals you want for the included price. - Scaling up for more people is simple. - You can pick a recipe and get your food the same day. That’s way faster than with meal kits. - You get dessert recipes included and they’re great and there is always at least one heathy option. - Ordering groceries through the app isn’t difficult. Cons: - The vegan recipes aren’t very good. Most of them are lacto vegetarian recipes with “vegan” added before the cheeses. - If you want to remove a recipe after putting the ingredients in your cart there’s no easy way to remove its ingredients. - Your recipes in your previous list get overwritten by your current list when you start a new current list, and this means you lose recipes. Put all your yet unmade recipes in your favorites list to prevent this.

I LOVE emeals. I have been using emeals for nearly 10 years. Back when they used to email a weekly list of recipes with the shopping list. Now they have this amazing app that makes choosing meals and going grocery shopping sooooo easy. It takes all the guess & brain work out of preparing delicious meals for my family every day. My kids and husband love these meals. We alternate between Keto and Paleo. But they have tons of options and everything is so simple to make and really good. I highly recommend this app. You can create several shopping lists and also save your favorites. The only suggestion I have would be for me to be able to label my shoppings and also have folders within the favorites section. There are just so many good recipes/meals, it would be nice to be able to organize for future use. Even without those features, I give this app five stars for making meals easy and being able to save money on my grocery bill.

Delicious Recipes and Easy to Use!. I’ve been using Emeals for two years now and still love it! After 30 years of cooking the same recipes for our family of five kids, it was time for a change! I have been working part-time for the last couple of years. By the end of the day, I was tired. The menu planning and shopping are super quick. There’s no wasted ingredients which is easier on the budget. They work in ‘planned overs’, use fresh Veges, and best of all every recipe tastes fantastic!! I think that’s our favorite part. I wanted the time and money savings but did not anticipate how great the recipes would be. It’s what keeps us using this app week after week. The other super feature is that you can switch to other plans at no additional cost. If I’m on a diet or we’re in the clean -eating mood, it’s not a problem. The crockpot plan is delicious too—I’ve used it extensively. All the plans are tasty!

A Bored moms saving grace. If you are someone who enjoys cooking, but despises trying to figure out what to cook every week, then this is the app for you. I have never been a fan of using recipes. The time it always take to look up the recipes, make the list of needed ingredients, go shopping for said ingredients, and then finally cook something....it was all very daunting. I often times ended up just making whatever was familiar, resulting in repetition and boredom come dinner time. With this app, it makes the entire process much less painful. I pick however many recipes I want for the week, compare shopping list to the items I already have in my pantry- then shop and add it to my cart without having to leave my home. It takes very little effort, and I don’t have the expense or food waste that I experienced with the meal kits that I tried before. It’s by far the best thing that has happened to mealtime in my household in a very, very long time!!

I want to love it. There are a lot of great things about this app. The recipes are realistic and pretty tasty. It’s relatively easy to save and add recipes although it would be great to be able to organise them more easily. And the biggest reason I bought it was for the ability to send my grocery list to the H‑E‑B app. This is the best feature by far! But there is a glaring bug that keeps me from loving it. While you can save recipes and update them by changing and adding ingredients, when those recipes get added to the grocery list the original list of ingredients gets added instead of the changes. I have tried different ways of updating and adding but nothing works. The only fix I found was to go in and change the ingredients both in the recipe and on the shopping list which takes extra time. Plus this isn’t a real fix either because even if I go in and delete ingredients they still sometimes end up getting sent to the H‑E‑B app anyway. I have reached out to the developers several times but the only response I get is for me to delete and re-download the app. This doesn’t fix anything. The premise it good but the coding is shoddy. It’s not a cheap app so think twice before buying and try out all the features in the trial period to make sure the app works for what you need. I’ll definitely be back when the app is fixed.

Company practices are a no for me. This is a review of the service and company not the app. I used this a few years ago and will never again mainly because of the difficulty they gave me in canceling the subscription. I used it for a while and then stopped and they auto charged my account and wouldn’t refund despite me not using it. That’s mostly on me for not remembering, but when I went to cancel after that it is next to impossible. You can’t do it through the app, or the website, or through their online chat or through email. I had to call them during business office hours (you know, when I’m at work). I thought that was ridiculous and intentional so they can keep charging you. Any business that operates like that is one I will avoid. The actual recipes are ok. I found the ingredient lists to be too long with weird obscure ingredients. They also don’t try to repeat these weird ingredients across recipes so if you need a small amount of something you’ll end up wasting the the rest. I found because of the long ingredient list for every recipe my grocery bill actually went up so I stopped using it.

Perfect for Busy/Overwhelmed People 😌. I am a mom of three. My husband and I both are teachers and coaches and we have two cats and a dog. Life is busy, and for me, the thought of trying to plan out meals and run to the grocery store is overwhelming to say the least. There are weeks I forget how convenient the app is and as soon as I remember, I fall in love all over again. When I can run to the store, I enjoy getting what I need to feed my family. When I don’t have time, the Walmart pick-up connection for groceries is the best! It just doesn’t get any easier. I’m not even someone who enjoys cooking, but this makes me enjoy it! I look forward to the new meals because it does the thinking for me instead of doing the same old same recipes. I can save the ones I like and repeat whenever I want. My son who is super picky will actually eat the Kid-Friendly meals and the rest of my family enjoys a real meal over cereal. My husband who is also a T1D also benefits from the Nutritional Facts on every recipe. Nothing else is like it! Thank you to the creators of this app! I suggest it to anyone who will listen and let me give them a tour of the app. ☺️ Pay the annual fee, it’s worth it!

A must have - but app can be buggy. I use this app for weekly dinners religiously. It has become a must-have tool in my routine and having it synced with my Walmart+ account has been extremely beneficial for time management. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that sometimes the app has bugs or has a hard time working with my Walmart+ cart. That’s not a huge deal as I work through the challenge on my on with time, but there are duplicate recipes in the app, which also could be fine, but some of the repeats don’t send the items to the shopping list. Not ideal, and if I didn’t work with apps all the time, I may not hang in there to figure out another way. Final thing, I constantly get ads in the app for things I have already done or don't apply to me. I use Walmart+ regularly and have an account, but I still have to go through many prompts in the app to join the Walmart+ program. Any hoo, it’s a great app overall and works with my planning style perfectly. Minor inconveniences are worth putting up with. (Oh! And I’d love to see some kind of rating for the recipes! It could just be something as simple as votes with stars from the community - no full reviews needed, just a way to indicate when a recipe really slaps among the people that use the app.)

shady business tactics. I love the app and what it has to offer. Integrating the recipe lists into walmart pickup or delivery?!?! yeah that’s really rad, helpful, awesome. recipes are yum. menu selections are great. BUT this company will charge your bank account for subscriptions (i did yearly) without any account or email notice! you cannot unsubscribe from them via the app, you must email support. hate that bs. HATE. IT. SHADY BUSINESS TACTICS. YALL WHATS WRONG WITH THE WORLD GOT DANG SONNY. right now we are in a pandemic, my fam is down to 1 job, part time, and food and necessities are hard to come by but guess what, emeals gettin paid. emeals overdrew my bank account $100 without notice and now my fam is gonna sit in the negative for a week before payday can fix that. was hoping to find some toilet paper and a few things in town this week but now i can’t afford it. lol go freakin figure. i hate when apps do that. anything to get ur money, even take it without u knowing. it’s rude and downright shady. fix it or you will lose a lot of subs. GADNAHSUHAHAJAHSIABA IM SOOOO MAD!!!! this has caused so much stress for me. idk how i’m gonna explain this to my husband. icing on the freaking cake. thx emeals. paying for a meal app when there’s no food in the stores and no money in my account to buy anything anyways. ffs. i’ve contacted them for a refund.

App vs website. I’m conflicted on this service because of the inability for the app and website to do the same things. For example I can limit my list to the recipes I like on the app and it will produce an edited shopping list. I can’t send that list to a printer though. I often go shopping with the kids and hate to have my face in the phone when I’m with them. It’s also easier to shop when I can see the whole list so I’m not scrolling up and down. On the website I can print, but I don’t have the option to edit my list and I also can see/add past favorites like I can in the app. I’m also not sure why Kroger is supported for adding the list to and online cart, but Fred Meyers, a subsidiary isn’t. Which is what is available on our market. Most of the actual recipes are decent, but often lack any depth or complexity. We often doctor it up with additional spices. If they ever tell you to throw meat into a crockpot ALWAYS brown it first. It makes the biggest difference. Anyways it’s nice to at least have a list of ingredients and then I can work with what I’ve got rather than sit down, plan specific meals and then shop. I’ll keep using but definitely some room for improvement.

Great service but next to impossible to quit. Have been a member for a year now and found I am not using it as much anymore so I need to cancel it before I get charged the yearly fee again. They make it next to impossible to cancel. First they make you call to cancel the subscription- you can’t click any buttons. Second- it has to be done on the website not through the app to get the phone #. Third- I have called now 3x and there is a massive wait so they want to call you back. Both times I have missed the call. Now waiting for a 3rd call back after it said there was a 40 minute hold time. There are so many meal planning services out there. Please don’t become like a gym membership. Buyer beware. On the plus side - the recipes were great. The shopping list feature is awesome. But just not using it enough. I’ve become more basic in my cooking and don’t need the variety anymore.

App is great; Program is getting worse. I have been an eMeals subscriber for years. The App works very well and wouldn’t change much. The program was phenomenal back when it was simpler with a few meal programs. Now that it’s trying to meet the needs of everyone and every possible appetite, it misses the mark often. (1) Many of the recipes are designed with cross-over in mind. So - you’ll find the same recipe in 5 different plans. Problem is - it usually only hits one plan well and suffices for the others. (2) Kid friendly use to be exactly that. You knew it wouldn’t have mixed foods and complex seasonings. Yes, I have a kid that dines on anything, but my other one, I needed the boring kid-proof recipe. (3) Classic use to be true Classic (bring out the Campbell soup mix-ins). Now they try to make it healthy, too. And that doesn’t work for remembering the Classic tastes. (4) Slow cooker use to be all slow cooker recipes and included dinners, breakfast, and occasional other ideas. Now often the recipes are slow-cook once and 2nd recipe uses the first. Well, if you didn’t like the first, you’re out 2 recipes options. (5) They are trying to compete with meals in boxes, and are losing the core customers. What we used this for was to pick 2-3 recipes a week. Now - I’m hard pressed to find 2-3 recipes a week I want to cook, eat, or works for my family - and that’s using 2 plans and switching. I think I’ll give it another month. But then will probably quit.

Really a time saver!!. I have been using e-meals for a little under a year now. It’s truly been a life saver for my meal planning. I like that I’m able to browse the other meal plans to search for different meals to add variety to my menu. While I like having the guesswork taken out of my meal planning there are some features that would really make this better. For starters, having the ability to add cooking notes to the meals that I store into my ‘Favorites.’ Often times, I have to tweak the recipe to make it fit the tasting needs of my family. It’d be nice to have a place where I could capture those notes so I can refer to them in the future instead of trying to remember. Dangerous!! In addition to a notes feature, it’d be nice to have full access via the computer. I like the app versions of e-meals but a computer version would be nice too. It gets hard meal planning on a phone, so a larger viewable screen would be nice. And finally, adding additional stores to link up my shopping list would be nice. I don’t use Instacart; instead, I use Clicklist and hanging my grocery list transfer to this system would save some time. These changes would be nice but they’re not enough to deter me from using this service. It has been a game changer for my family and helped reduce our grocery bill. Thanks!!

Love eMeals and recommend it all the time. Overall using the plans has been a great time and headspace saver. I love that I don’t have to stress the scramble of dinner night after night and the new app has made that even easier. If there was one feature request I’d make it would be that the app gave to option to omit the side dish. I’ve tried many of them and they are delightful, but my kids aren’t usually interested in the cool salady side and very often only my husband and I are having them. If you could omit them from the shopping list it would make tailoring the meals even that much easier, at least for me. I also LOVE that the app allowed me to access past meal plans! There were so many things we liked, and searching the only PDFs was difficult, having them at my fingertips is amazing. I hope that archive remains in place for the long term. Keep up the good work! I anticipate that we will be using eMeals for years to come.

Great recipes and Amazing customer service. I decided to try the dinner meals out for the two weeks with plans to cancel before I got charged because I didn’t see how it would be worth the cost. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to pick out the meals I thought looked interesting (mixing meals from different menus) and then utilize the shopping list in my Walmart app for pickup. I added a few items that I needed to the cart and was able to pick it up a day later. The menus are easy to follow (love the cooking view of the recipe for my teenage daughter!) and such a wide variety of meals. I loved it so much that I wanted to see the all day menu plan but even though I could switch plans in iTunes, it wouldn't give me access. I contacted eMeals through their fb page and they quickly added everything in for me. They went above and beyond to make sure I’m a happy customer. Looking forward to using this app all year long.

Great recipes and saves money. Let me start off with that I am not new to do-it-yourself meal delivery services. I’ve tried practically all of them and stuck with one in particular for about a year. I got tired of the monotony of the recipes and the fact that a lot of the produce would come to me already bad, deliveries failed several times, ect. So I gave eMeals a shot this week. And wow. Every recipe has been amazing. The pistachio romanesco and mango orange chicken are now two household favorites. I love that I am able to pick my own produce and eliminate buying what I already have while still having the worst part about daily cooking (meal planning) done for me. These recipes have been delicious AND healthy. The elusive twofer. This is definitely worth the money if you can afford it! The only thing I would change about the recipes is that I wish that the recipes were measured in grams/oz, at least as a secondary measurement. I do a lot of substitutions (e.g. mandarin over a navel orange) so grams of orange juice would be more useful than specifying one navel orange.

Hard to cancel (maybe not... read for update). I keep coming back to eMeals every couple years, and each time I just don’t stick with it. I’m lucky to have one meal a week I would consider making (picky kids), even on the family/kid friendly plans. It’s not easy to cancel and that’s what I’m working on now. I don’t remember it being so challenging in the past to cancel, but I had a harder time finding the area in my account where there was an option to cancel, and even then— I couldn’t cancel online, it makes you call customer support to cancel. Disappointed! ————- Update: I called customer support begrudgingly to cancel, and I reached someone quickly, and it was easy to cancel. Also, since my quarterly renewal just paid two days ago, I asked if I could get a refund (didn’t have much hope they would, it was my fault I didn’t call sooner) but she was willing to refund the renewal I had just been billed. Fingers are crossed all is actually cancelled and I receive the refund in 1-2 business days.

Why no iPad appropriate app?!?!. I love eMeals so much and I use it weekly. I’ve used a few different meal plans, but currently my favorite is Eating Well, since there are a good variety of healthy meals, and frankly I like the photos and nutritional info available. The app on the phone is amazing, but overall I’d recommend including more photos for the recipes, it makes things more interesting and enticing. But it’s a hassle to use my iPhone when cooking, and I try to use my iPad in the kitchen. But the app is just meant for the iPhone and doesn’t work well on my iPad at all! It only works in profile mode, basically a blown-up version of the iPhone screen. I have to tilt the thing sideways in its stand. There is an easy fix for this! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make an iPad friendly app!! You can have the ingredients on one side and the cooking instructions on the other in landscape mode!! This would make the process of actually cooking the meals so much easier!!

Love it... but lately. I absolutely love this app, it is a no – nonsense guide to exactly what you need to buy each week, exactly how you need to cook it and it takes the stress and thought out of meal planning. Some of the recipes even include nutritional information (however, not all of the recipes do) which is a feature I would like to see for all of the recipes, but it does help you stay on track with health goals as well. My biggest complaints, which is an issue that has only recently begun happening, is that the app keeps crashing. When I go to start editing my shopping list to check off those ingredients I already have, there are two problems. Problem one: for some reason it is adding ingredients that are not included in my recipes for the week, but are for recipes that aren’t even on my favorites list or my selected meal plan. Problem to Colin when I go to check off or delete superfluous or unneeded items the app shuts down. There aren’t any updates, but I wish they would come out with one because I’m starting to regret paying for this app since I can’t use it.

Excellent Meals, Great Customer Service. I’ve been using an eMeals dinner plan since August. It replaced an old New York Times Cooking subscription, and I find eMeals to be much more family and time friendly than those recipes. There is great variety each week within each category, but if you get tired of Mediterranean you can easily switch to Vegetarian or Paleo, or whatever fits your life. And, the meals are almost always delicious. Like, i ask myself if I’d be willing to pay for that food if I was out at a restaurant? The answer is almost always yes. There have only been 2 or 3 we wouldn’t make again. The app also makes building your grocery list and going grocery shopping super easy. Really, just a great app all around for meals and planning. We like it so much that we recently upgraded to an All Day Plan that includes breakfasts and lunches. The upgrade didn’t sync properly with ITunes, but a quick call to Customer Service fixed it right away. Really, just excellent. Highly recommend.

Awesome, time-saving app. This app has totally changed our grocery and meal routine. The most frustrating part of our week was taking the time to think of meals, make the grocery list, and then cook the meals all while we both work busy, full-time jobs. E-meals has made it where grocery list-makings takes 5 minutes, and cooking a quick and healthy meal takes only 30 minutes with the plan we have chosen. Now we have a variety of new and healthy meals, with the ease of ingredients and instructions ready to go. Grocery shopping has also never been easier with the way the app organizes list items by category, and then allows you to check items off as you go throughout the store. I would (and do) tell anyone and everyone that they should try this app to make their week-to-week much simpler. At $5/month, you truly can’t beat the quality and time-saving you receive. Thank you for giving our family a tool to help us!

Absolute Potential. I love the premise of it, I use it all the time and I feel like it makes dinner a lot easier. The recipes are easy and delicious, no complaints there... however. There seem to be two glaring bugs that knock the app itself down a star each, and once they’re fixed then I will happily revise my review. The first issue I have is that the Favorites section seems to be inconsistent. I favorited a lot of recipes only to find that they all disappeared one day. I don’t know if it’s because a new week of recipes came out, but it was incredibly frustrating. With that said, I wish they’d add a search feature for recipes on the main page in case it does happen again (which hopefully it wouldn’t). Secondly, I downloaded the app onto my iPad initially because it’s a big, nice screen to reference compared to the phone. I also downloaded the app on my phone so I can build the week’s menu and do my shopping on the go, but they don’t seem to sync. I created a new menu (and therefore a new list) that shows up on my iPad, but I can’t find a way for it to update on my phone. Also kind of frustrating! If those two issues were fixed I’d have no qualms about the app in any way. I already recommend it to people I know, but for regular users I feel that these two fixes would elevate the app and experience to a whole new level. Please consider looking into these!

Don’t do it. It’s a scam.. Maybe that’s not fair, but to me this service is a scam. If you can google recipes and navigate grocery delivery/pick-up at your grocery store of choice, this is a worthless service. You’re paying for their ability to integrate their recipes into your grocery buying, and nothing more. They do have a large catalog of recipes filtered into many different meal planning categories, but once you pick your recipes, you then still have to manually go through your grocery list on their app, and then they connect it to your grocery store of choice. You then open up that company’s app to finish your grocery order in your preferred method. So I decided to cancel before my free trial was even finished. BUT WAIT, you can’t cancel your subscription on their app, or even their website. You have to call in to their billing department, which is only open 6 days a week, 8am-7pm. So, ya know, during the hours that you would realize what a scam this is, you’re not going to have any luck cancelling. Better set an alarm to remember to do it tomorrow before I’m charged. I haven’t written many reviews in my life, but wanted to save someone the same trouble I had.

Helpful to plan meals but.... $60 up front not monthly, recipes are not sectioned correctly but more like sporadically... I won’t say that it’s not worth the money but it’s not exactly worth 60 per year but maybe 30 simply because it’s constantly just repeating the same recipes over and over again the recipes are not organized whatsoever to the category that you chose... For some people they may not seem like a huge deal if you’re just looking for recipes to cook up and not caring what is that you’re looking in for, but I was in a diabetic area it was constantly hurting and potatoes sugar honey things they can’t have is being put into their recipes over and over again... The kid section does seem to be mostly like kid stuff like mac & cheese and sliders little kids types of food that usually don’t go wrong but they also have other plans that have recipes I do not belong in that category in there... this app really needs to be gone through and checked and re-organized I also do not understand why it only works as an app I have never gotten to work on the computer using their website you have to download the app or it doesn’t run right which is very frustrating.

Emeals makes me feel like a rockstar mom!. I’ve been using Emeals for about three weeks, and I feel like a rockstar mom because I’ve been making real meals consistently for the first time since my oldest was born six years ago. Thank you for helping me get out of the taco, spaghetti, chicken nugget rut I was in!!! My only tiny complaint: I wish there was a way to make notes on the recipes I save in favorites. For example, the Stromboli was done significantly earlier than the recipe indicated, which made me realize I rolled it the wrong direction. It still turned out great because I caught it in time, but I’d love to write down those notes on the recipe, so I don’t forget next time I make it. (Because I will definitely be making it again. Even the baby scarfed it down!) Overall though, Emeals has been a game changer. The meals in the kid-friendly plan have been quick, easy, and kid-approved!

A few guliches. I found the same as the person above. Needs to be metric, Using Australian food shops would be great. It needs more flexibility to alter meal plans once you have locked a plan in as dietary needs can change

Great but need some adjustments for Australia. I love the idea of this app. Meal planning and shopping lists which can be attached to online grocery shopping. However, the app needs to be adjusted for the Australian market: weights and measures in metric, connection to Woolworths, Coles, etc. and finally meals that are seasonally appropriate. Right now it is summer in Australia but it the meals (while they look yummy) are winter focused. One last thing is that I would like to be able to export my shopping list so that I can get my husband to pick up some things without typing the list out again. I will check back in the future as I would really love an app like this but at the moment it doesn’t work fully in Australia.

Yum. This is a great resource with so much potential. It's completely changed the way I cook for my family. I would love if I could add my favourite emeals to a weekly plan. And a search engine for meals would also be useful. That way next time I want to serve that beet and rice salad I don't have to search through every previous week to find it. I like the addition of the skip function but would like it better if I could choose which part if the meal to skip (main dish or side). All in all this app is awesome though. I love it.

Easy. Makes meal planning a breeze!!

Great!!. Wish it would combine all the ingredients in the shipping list so that I don’t have to scroll so much and go back for ‘another lime’ it should say 2 limes and not 1 at the top of the list and 1 later on.

Was alright but reoccurring charges without consent!. Was alright but reoccurring charges without consent!!

Great Meal Ideas. Great app. Has a ton of different meals to try and they are easy to make, taste great, and not too high in calories. Highly recommend.

Keep charging my credit card.. Only way you seem to be able to cancel your subscription is by personally calling this company or cancelling your credit card all together. There should be a cancel subscription option on your Apple subscriptions page. Also just got charged 54 dollars twice in only 3 months. Be careful !!!

Sports Mom dream!. We have 4 kids on the go and good eating on a budget is a priority for us. Emeals helps us freshen up the menu while staying on track financially!

Disappointed. Some features do not work for Canadian users!!

Quick and Healthy?? BLT Hamburger is healthy?. Quick maybe, but definitely not healthy. Extremely disappointed with recipes. Will be cancelling.

Incredible. Awesome plans. So many options to suit every palate and family size. Especially if you can purchase it on a promo deal.

Only US units. We’re in the 21st century. Why can’t this app list ingredients in metric? Grams instead of ounces. Ml instead of cups! Come on… at the very least have an option to show both, or one or another.

BEWARE: Not easy to stop the trial period.. On their webpage it’s laid out how to unsubscribe. I am trying to cancel... it is not that easy. I find I am not using this program. Make sure you are on top of your trial because you have to give a card number. Because you’ll be paying for it!! I will have to change credit cards!

Red flag regarding subscription. I started using the application with high hopes that I could get a grip on my meal planning routine. It didn't materialize. When you add meals to your plans, the app is not smart enough to accumulate the same products in your shopping list which appear with different names in different recipes. Also, you can't have a general plan for pre-preparing your weekly meals. If you live in Canada, you can't transfer your shopping list to any online services. It requires a US zip code. The biggest disappointment came to me when I realized to cancel my trial I need to call this number on their website. There is no way you can manage your subscription unless you call them. I called and I could cancel, but these methods for causing people into paying the services are a really big red flag to me that the service is not left and they don't respect their customers.

Printing. Perfect! Just wanted a function to be able to print?

need ipad version. really wish there was an ipad view. currently cant turn ipad sideways nor does it work with my keyboard

Game changer. I’ve been using this app for years, and it has made my life better. I can select meals from different meal plans, as many or few as I want, and it’ll generate my shopping list for me. I have a meal plan for 6, so there are always leftovers for lunch the next day, and I am the envy of the lunchroom. I am fairly confident that I would be using those meal delivery services if this didn’t exist, because it’s practically the same thing (especially if you do grocery delivery) for a fraction of the cost.

Great App. I love this app so much! The thing I hated most about making dinner was planning what to eat. This gives me new ideas every week without searching sites and making a list etc, everything is done all in one spot. The only thing that would make this app better would be to have the Celsius temperature displayed as well. I have to constantly do the conversion because I have my oven set to Celsius, and it has a digital display which only allows one at a time. Which unfortunately I prefer Celsius.

I can't wait to go shopping!. I LOVE this updated app!!! I really love how I can skip meals and they come off my shopping list, and I can add my own items to the list as well. Not a complaint, but an idea for the next update: I would live it if we could skip part if a meal, like the side. That would add even more use ability. As it is now, I can still simply cross off ingredients that I don't want/need to buy, so it still works out.

Need Postal Codes added for Canada. I’ve been researching meal prep apps, which provide grocery list, and I really liked this one. This one had the option for grocery store pick up. I signed up for the 14 day trial last night, selected the meals I wanted, went through the grocery list to remove things I already had, and went to select a grocery store. Instructions: enter ZIP Code. I was so disappointed. We have Walmart and Safeway in Canada. Please add postal code or a map option so we can zoom in and select the grocery store in our area.

You have to call to cancel. I signed up to try this for 14 days. In 2019 the only excuse for having people call to cancel a membership is because they know it’s such a hassle to call people will probably just pay the fee to not deal with it. Come on. Put a feature to cancel in the app, and you will seem more reportable. Now I will never sign up again to give a second try because I know I’ll have to call. Very disappointed. I used the app one time and the meals did not look appealing to me and were way to complicated. I can’t believe Dave Ramsey supports this. I see no way this could save anyone money or time. Unless they are not picky at all and don’t mind a lot of prep. And of course you have to wait on hold or request a call back to cancel. I will say the person that help me cancel was nice and didn’t hassle me about it, and the app works just how it’s suppose to with no glitching.

A Waste of Potential-will order things not needed. It seems like EMeals is a way to simply over purchase items and make Walmart more money. The whole point of using EMeals is I can pick recipes and the shopping is virtually done for me. Except that instead of ordering 4 leek stalks, which I would think 1 bunch would suffice, instead it order 4 bunches. So I just spent $15 on leeks! For one meal! The recipe for meatloaf burgers sent a big bag of almond flower to my cart, but there is no almond flower in the recipe, so there’s an additional $11 not needed! Same recipe called for 1/2 jar of pickles; app ordered 2 jars. Recipe says you need a little thyme leaves? App ordered 2 whole bottles. Need some fresh thyme too? App ordered 4 boxes of that. This is ridiculous. I guess it offsets that by buying one sweet potato when the recipe calls for 6, and buying 1 zucchini when recipe calls for 2. So now not only did I pay for a bunch of crap it appears I didn’t need, now I gotta go buy what was missed. What a waste of an awesome idea! This is literally the app to answer my prayers, but it doesn’t work.

Don’t expect to cancel online. I tried the free trial and got suckered into the 6 month paid because I couldn’t cancel online because it was on a weekend and of course not during “normal” business hours. Just beware you have to call and speak to a person to cancel. After I paid for a membership I decided to try to use it to its fullest since I was stuck with it and I have been using it for about 3 weeks and some of the recipes are a little confusing. I do appreciate the favorite button but I wish I could thumbs down a recipe if we didn’t like it so in a month or two when it cycles around I won’t accidentally make the same one. It would also be nice to add notes for future use or be able to rate/review individual recipes. The recipe I’m looking at today states chicken but I think I need to precook it before putting it in the casserole but no where does it say that. If others rated/reviewed this specific meal maybe eMeals would add clarification or other readers would add their two cents and give some extra clarification.

Problems with Walmart ordering. I’m a seasoned EMeals user and love the program, BUT I’ve had so many issues when my grocery list transfers to my Walmart app. First of all, it makes me sign in to my Walmart app at two separate times. Secondly, on multiple occasions (5 different times) it has asked for my store location (I’m in PA), which I verified, then it reverted back to a random California store address!!! The first time this happened I didn’t catch it and my order was sent to the wrong store. All the other times I thankfully caught the mistake and corrected it in time. But the whole process makes me uncomfortable so I hesitate to use the ordering feature on EMeals. It could be such a useful tool if the two programs could communicate better.

Functional. It it so easy to put a meal plan together and make a shopping list. I love this. I love that you can now search meals. However it’s still a work in progress. I will search for a meal that I know I made and won’t be able to find it. I would love it if it had a feature like All Recipes where you could search by added ingredients. (Like, I know I made a meal with blueberries and chicken, and not have to search all chicken dishes.) I REALLY would love to be able to search/view all meals that I have made/added to my menu. You can look back a week but it would be so helpful to have access to all my meals, in case I didn’t add it to my favorites because my family didn’t ask me until two weeks later “can you make that one meal…”

Love this App but not the new update. I have used this app almost every week for over 2 years now. There have been less than a handful of times that we didn’t like the recipe. I have had no complaints until the newest update. I used to be able to go through the grocery list and be able to choose brands for each item. Now it just puts everything in your cart. I get to choose nothing. I could remove the item from the cart and then search for a new one but it was much more convenient to chose from the beginning. I also noticed when I started making my most recent recipes it didn’t choose enough of some items which is very inconvenient when I have already planned dinner. I can see the appeal of the new feature but I would like the option to turn it off. If I had the option to choose I would change my rating to 5 stars.

Needs an Upgrade. With all the options out there for meal planning a meal kits, it seems like eMeals hasn’t really stepped up their game since they started. They need to provide an iPad app. It’s way easier to read recipes on a larger screen and my eyesight is 20/20. When cooking, I want to be able to set my device down and use at a reference to cook while keeping my hands free. Additionally, it would be very helpful if my information synced between my devices. Currently, if I add items to my shopping list or menu for the week on my iPhone, information does not carry over to my iPad even though I am signed into my account on both devices. That seems like such a simple thing to implement. The recipes are very much hit or miss. Even the recipes that are better than average require me to do a bit of doctoring. Definitely room for improvement.

Don’t do it-too much work. Don’t order this unless you want to go hunting through your grocery store looking for walnut oil, dry sherry, or Spanish smoked paprika. I have tried all of their meal plan types and none of them offer simple to make meals. Even the family and kid friendly plans have gourmet level recipes that most of us don’t want to go through the hassle to make. The point of this product is to make meal planning AND meal creation easy. It falls very short on the mark. Sure creating a grocery list is a snap and cooking the meals takes less than 40 minutes on average but finding the exotic items needed to make the meals is the real drawback of this app. I tried this product about 4 years ago when it was just a website so I really wanted to like it and see improvements. The offerings improved but they’re now gone too far to the gourmet for a family that really need to save time. I shop using Walmart’s pick up service so I was so happy to see it linked to eMeals. I’ll need to keep looking for another meal prep app that gives you normal easy recipes.

Love it all except shopping choice. I love eMeals. It has eliminated the “what’s for dinner tonight?” daily dilemma. You can stick with the menu that has been chosen for you, or you can branch out and try things from any menu. We have branched our and are getting far more veggies than we used to 👍🏻 The main downside for me is that I can only submit the shopping list to Walmart, and ours has such a limited selection and produce prices are much higher than other stores. Kroger is an option, but our local store is actually Fred Meyer, a subsidiary. Even though Kroger/Fred Meyer are practically the same in all other ways, eMeals doesn’t work with the Fred Meyer app (yet) or Safeway. I would love to be able to use this feature at different stores. Also, I would love to see a weekly Instant Pot menu! I love my IP, and I don’t necessarily want to just do crock pot recipes that I have to figure out the conversion for. 😉

Helpful. This is a very helpful app for my busy family. All the recipes I have made have been good. Sometimes the sides aren’t the best- an option to remove the sides would be nice. I also have trouble with my list going to Walmart. I would like to see the list send to Walmart and open the Walmart app at that point. I don’t like that I’m told there are things not in stock but no option to rechoose my items. I kept forgetting what wasn’t in stock and had to keep resending my list to remember. Update- my order ended up being three times what I thought it would be. My fault, I know, I should have reviewed it before I submitted but very frustrating. The developer did reach out to me so thank you! I know someone read my review!

Meal planning done right. I am so happy to have found eMeals. It is literally the easiest meal planning, shopping list planner ever. Any way of eating you want is an option. 30 minute meals, keto, whole30, Mediterranean, heart healthy, instantpot, and on and on. Most recipes have beautiful photos and are fun to look through. My husband had a blast looking through the different choices and picking out meals. It’s easy to customize and then check off what ingredients you already have. Then the list is sent directly to the store (Walmart for us) for pick up. You can add on anything else you might need. This app is going to be a major time and money saver. My recipe list is all ready for the week and all I have to do is drive to the store and pick it up! Rotisserie chicken meals, no cook, and kid friendly are other options. Omg you guys. Try this!

Life Changer. Honestly, this app changed my life. It makes meal prepping so much easier. I made a goal for myself to meal prep in 2019 instead of buying lunches constantly or having to cook when I got home from work. This app lets you pick a meal program you want (such as quick and healthy, slow cooker, keto, paleo, vegetarian etc) and provides you with weekly menus of awesome meals. It also allows you to look at the other meal program recipes if the ones in yours aren’t enough or you want more options. You can also favorite meals and add them to your list that will save the recipe for easy access and start a shopping list for you. The one thing I wish is that they would recognize your “favorites recipes” on the meal side because I end up favoriting meals multiple times once they are used again. Worth the money for sure.

App is great but shopping list part is not.. I highly recommend the emails app for choosing recipes. It works really well and simplifies everything about meal planning and preparation. The one limitation it has is shopping list aspect of the app. It is very difficult to use while grocery shopping, however. It has no lock list option so while shopping the screen will go to sleep frequently and it’s easy to accidentally open the “find a grocery store” feature when you’re in the middle of the shopping outing. It also does not have a print option so that you have to use your phone while shopping. It adds significantly to the time needed to shop because one has to continually reawaken the app or swipe back and forth to return to the list. Otherwise, it’s a great app.

So convenient. I really love this app! It’s like no other I have used before. Those meal subscriptions that send the ingredients to your door, can be nice and convenient don’t get me wrong but the quality of the items is hit or miss and if plans or appetite change, you can end up wasting food. What I spent in a year of eMeals, I would have spent on 1 week of the traditional subscriptions. With this app I am able to choose from tons of menu options, the app organizes your grocery list for you! You can either shop for yourself and customize ingredients to your liking and price point or you can send your list to Walmart and they will do it for you. I think this app is very organized, well thought out, and our family really benefits from the use of eMeals. I couldn’t be more thankful, I truthfully could go on and on about it’s greatness.

Love but..... I love eMeals. I have been planning menus for more than 20 years (7 kids) and am burnt out. This easy to use app has taken a huge burden off of this single working mom and has been fun to use, especially with the ease of sending my list to Walmart. However, now that I have been using is for about 5 months, I’m starting to get burnt out on all of the chicken recipes. I appreciate all of the different plans and browse them all but would love more recipes using canned tuna and less expensive fishes, eggs, ham and different cuts of beef (round steak, chuck/rump roasts). Also, being able to search all of the recipes by ingredient would be wonderful!! Thank you for the thoughtfulness you have put into this very helpful app and please keep working to make it more user friendly and non-repetitive with recipes. BTW, I love the special occasion meal plans!

We LOVE emeals!. I LOVE my EMeals service and have told everyone about them! We recently started on the Mediterranean diet in an effort to get healthy. But when it comes to learning a new way to eat, using cookbooks and trying to figure out what main dish would go with what side dish and crafting a menu can be really overwhelming. In looking for an easier way to plan meals I stumbled over this site and the app. The food is tasty, the directions make it easy to cook. We can plan ahead a day or two and buy fresh veggies as we go. And the selection has been fantastic! They have a great mix of easy to fix meals for busy nights, slow cooker meals for when we need to set it and forget it, and we're learning new cooking techniques as we go. The only downside is that the recipes don't come with nutrition info.

Sneaky. I signed up for the free trial to see if this would be a good fit our family. Of course, they make you give payment information anyway for when the free trial is over. After selecting a few meals I thought my kids *might* eat, I went to make my order for Kroger. It did not save me any time in submitting an order because I had to go through each item and select which product I wanted. The only difference was that I didn’t have to type in the search myself. I decided that it isn’t for me after all and tried to cancel before I get charged. But even after selecting my reason for cancellation and giving details, it takes you to a screen that says you have to CALL to cancel. As someone with phone anxiety, this is extremely off putting and even if I thought about signing back up at a later date, this confirms that I never will AND prompted this negative review. I despise sneaky tactics like this and would never recommend a company that uses them.

Good, but not quite great.. So far, emeals is going well for me, but there are 3 improvements that could made to the app that would really move it into a 5 star app: 1) Ability to adjust the recipe for the size of your family, or a 6-8 person option. I know this isn’t a far-fetched idea because websites like All Recipes have this feature. I’m paying for Emeals because it’s a fantastic convenience, but some of that convenience is negated when I have to figure out how to beef up the meal for my crew. (I’m feeding 4 adults and 3 kids, and I know I’m not the only frazzled mom out there who is feeding more than 4-6 people. Aren’t we a big part of the target audience for this app?). 2) Ability to record notes when you add a recipe to your favorites. I’d love to record how many in my family liked it, how many it really served, did I add extra sides, tweak the recipe, etc. 3) The least necessary adjustment: but, I think it’s weird that you have to go to the shopping cart to pull up your recipes for the week. Why not add a 5th widget to the bottom for the weekly recipes separate from the shopping cart? Overall, I’m liking it, but I think these changes would greatly improve the app!

Directions Could Use A Little Work. I really like the idea of EMeals! After being a Hello Fresh customer for almost a year, my husband and I decided to give eMeals a try. I like having the items on my list sent to my local grocery store and if I choose, pick out the items myself. I am disabled so I have the store do that for me which is so helpful. HF, well let’s just say, my produce wasn’t always fresh. I would receive limp poblano peppers🌶 and several times my fresh ginger looked like it had sat at the bottom of the barrel for months. Yuck! That shouldn’t happen! My only complaint would be the directions. That was one thing Hello Fresh did do right. Plainly and step by step everything went together. One dish with emeals, the side dish at the bottom of the directions took over an hour to cook and that should’ve been the first step. Instead they had the cooking of the meat listed first. Didn’t make very good sense to me. So before you start preparing your emeals, read the entire page first and go from there. So far we had the mushroom and cauliflower pork. Very good meal! I also like that we can choose a diet plan to follow and it gives so many recipes if you’re watching calories, if you’re gluten intolerant and so forth. Definitely would give it a try using their free 2 week trial if your on the fence. I send my items to Smiths then choose what I need and add to cart. Fairly simple.

Great alternative!. This service is a great alternative to Dinner plans like Home Chef and Hello Fresh. The choice of menus is much better, and you can pick meals from any menu offered. It is much more budget friendly because you are getting full-sized items instead of only the exact ingredients you need for a meal. That might be alright in some cases, but we are a family of 3, and if a recipe calls for ranch dressing I’d rather get a full bottle of ranch, than just a couple tablespoons worth. I can find a lot of uses for ranch! It’s easy to order and I can pick up my groceries from Walmart on my way home. They will even bring them to your car. If you are a retired couple, or single person who doesn’t need a fridge full of food, then maybe Hello Fresh or Home Chef is a good choice... but if you have a family and can’t afford restaurant prices for your meals, I’d recommend eMeals.

Great for 2. I have used emeals for over 2 years now. It is great to be able to order recipes for 2 and have something different literally every day of the year. The prep and cooking on our low calorie plan take 30-60 minutes. Being able to grocery shop for a week and know when you get ready that everything is in your house is great. When you pick your weekly menu the grocery list is prepared and categorized. The prep instructions are easy to understand. If anything I wish they would offer more cooking tips but this is being picky. I do the cooking and my wife cleans up which works well although she wishes I would not make as much a mess. By the way, lost 35 pounds in one year with primary alteration being emeals dinners and sensible breakfast and lunch. A great program.

My first ever review!!. I have tried every app possible for losing weight. Just a week ago I joined Weight Watchers and if you use this app you can be so successful. I typed in Weight Watchers for search and there are so many recipes with low points/calories. Some you have to figure out yourself but it’s easy. Some already have the points figured out for you. I think everyone should have this app because it’s so easy then to make a grocery list which is the hardest part for me. Then I just order everything from Walmart. It does cost money after your trial. But I think everyone should try it so that they can eat healthier with so much ease. Five stars for sure.I know most people would love it. Finally I have lost weight-6lbs. Great for this 70 year old!!

You have to call to cancel the trial.. You must call them to cancel the trial. As soon as I signed up for the trial and saw the recipes, I tried to cancel and couldn’t. I called a couple of times and then life happened and I didn’t call back. (My vehicle broke down etc). Needless to say I got a PayPal notification at 1am telling me I had a $39 charge from eMeals. And the next problem and reason I immediately tried to cancel, they only give nutritional information for special diets such as keto or a diabetic diet. There are a couple of others as well, but I want to know the nutritional information for everything. I’m trying to lose weight and can alter a recipe for my purposes but not if I don’t have the values. I know I can do it myself but that’s the reason for paying for a meal plan. So they do the job for you. Save your time and google what you want to know. I think most of what I need to know can be found with an online search. I’m not paying someone else to only give me partial details. I also found the recipes very limited. Tammy

Life changer. Meal planning in my house just wasn’t happening. I’m a decent cook but not very creative, and I was getting sick of buying the same ingredients at the grocery store every week and cooking the same boring food. When we had a baby, it became more of a struggle real as we tried to balance time effectively and maintain a healthy diet. So I tried the blue apron thing, which was convenient but expensive and wasn’t a great fit for us as I like to have more control over purchasing ingredients. So I switched to emeals and I freakin love it. I get meal ideas every week, plus I can go back to old recipes that I liked. I love the shopping list feature! The whole thing is so easy to use and ridiculously convenient. It’s a very small cost for a huge life improvement. Huge fan!

Pretty good but.... I really love many of the recipes & the automatic grocery list & especially how I can use recipes from different plans, but there are a couple of things I would change. First I would make the grocery list printable. For many of us, Instacart is the only option given to send shopping list to & they overcharge too much. The second change I would make is that you can keep your recipes/shopping lists until you make/delete them or choose to save them. I don’t like to ❤️ a recipe until I’ve tried it & so many times, I’ve bought the ingredients but got busy & not made recipes right away. Then 2 1/2 weeks later, I have the ingredients, but the recipe has disappeared. So frustrating & wastes my money! Why can I only see recipes for this week and last week unless I ❤️them-even if I haven’t made them yet !

Misleading cancelation process. I have used your app and subscription for a while, and find it mediocre at best. The recipes are bland sometimes and I have noticed if you choose specific diets, such as paleo, that sometimes the ingredients in the recipe are non-compliant with the diet itself. Besides that, I found the cancelation process frustrating. It is misleading to grey out the cancelation options as if you cannot press the buttons. Also your options for canceling are not reflective of the reason that I canceled. Why ask for data to improve when you only want to hear four reasons someone might cancel? I cancelled because the integration with Walmart isn’t great. I often get charged more than a week after placing an online order, and it is only like this when I do it through your app. It will charge initially, and then When an item is refunded it refunds the entire amount of the grocery order to my card. Then about a week later the entire amount comes out of my account unexpectedly.

Keeps me on task. I’ve been using Emeals since my boys were in elementary school and they are now 18 & 21. It’s the best meal organizing planner there is, especially with the additions of saving your favorite meals and cooking with what you have on hand. I love the way it populates a list based on the recipes you choose and tells you exactly how much you need, and then you can delete things off the list based on what you have on hand. Also love that I can add my own things to the list. Very flexible and user friendly! When I first joined, it would give you recipes based on your store’s weekly sales. Kind of miss that feature but the flexibility to search meals based on ingredients you want to use is a nice alternative. Ex if beef is on sale search beef recipes.

Great app to make meal planning easy. (Not a review to complain that I am too lazy to call & cancel). (I am so tired of all the bad reviews and complaints about canceling their trial for this app. Did you not read the terms when you signed up? Your laziness doesn’t have anything to do with the app!!!) I love having the ability to use 2 lists. I have a small refrigerator, so I shop 2x a week and this give me a chance to break it up easily. Being able to send my grocery list to my preferred store is easy, and checking off the items I have already have is easy to do before I start shopping. My two suggestions would be: 1-some kind of calendar interface so I can add the selected recipes to my iCalendar. 2-make the app iPad friendly so I don’t have to turn it portrait. I’d like to use it more on my iPad.

Please Add A Notes Option!. I absolutely love E-meals! I’m a terrible meal planner and before using E-meals we would always resort to something quick and easy for dinner, which was usually the same few things that we got tired of and it was a lot of processed and/or frozen heat and eat things. E-meals has been at total game changer for us! The app is easy to use and I save so much time using the Walmart pick up. Instead of wasting an hour grocery shopping after work and forgetting a bunch of things I can now just stop after work and head home. The only thing I’d really like to see is a noted option for saved recipes. Sometimes there’s small things I want to change the next time I make a meal and having notes would be extremely helpful!!

Best Service Ever!. This app has absolutely saved my time and sanity! Planning meals and getting groceries has always taken forever! First you have to pick out meals, then you have to break down the ingredients, make your list, then go shopping. I hated this daunting task! Enter EMeals! I select what looks good and send the shopping list to Walmart- add, Subtract, or modify what I need, and schedule a pick up. It’s so simple, and a total game changer! If you don’t need groceries that week, you don’t use it. And you don’t have to worry about skipping deliveries and ending up with tons of meals that go bad before you use them. I will never be without this service again! It is absolutely genius- and for $5 per month?! Um-yes!!! Count me in!!

This is great!. So I totally want to compliment this app which I don’t always do but after calling in to customer service I’m even more sold! It’s totally affordable, I tried it out for the last week and a half and the meals are interesting and tasty and it’s so easy to transfer everything into Walmart grocery, so what would usually take me 1-2 hours of planning and another of shopping took me about 10 minutes of planning and I picked up my groceries the next morning in no time at all. I work 50+ hour weeks and need easy ways to feed myself and this has been a blessing! And at such a low price! They don’t let you change stuff on your account without calling in but the customer service was honestly impressive. I’m a call center customer service rep myself and I was honestly impressed by the service.

Best Way to Shop for Food and Learn to Cook. I have been using the eMeals service for the past two years. The first year i had it, this app was not available so i would have to print out each week and highlight the food i need. I still thought it was awesome because the planning aspect was minimized significantly. NOW, IT’S ALL ON MY PHONE! I’m obviously ecstatic about it. The grocery list is so easy with the foods separated out by departments and when you check off the items, they move out of the list so it’s continuously consolidated. They just launched the new COOK MODE, which is awesome as well. After prepping, the cooking steps are made to be easy to ready and you can toggle between the main and side dish without losing your place in either. If you want to learn how to cook, get eMeals and enjoy this awesome app they have created.

There is so much advertising. I have never received so much advertising in an app that I am paying for. At first I liked this app and used it to help plan meals. Then they partnered with Walmart and some wine companies. Every meal you add to your plan automatically adds a bottle of a specific brand and type of wine to your shopping list. You have to unclick to remove it. I also started getting emails multiple times a week asking me to sign up for Walmart+ so I could get my groceries delivered, other emails asking me to get referrals to get more people to sign up, and emails advertising different Walmart snacks etc to add to my grocery list, oh and ads to sign up for additional meal plans to add on to the one I already have. I don’t want to be spammed with ads for something I am already paying $60 a year for. I will not be renewing my membership when it expires. Forgot to mention they just added pop up ads in the app as well. Ridiculous.

I want to love you, eMeals... I’ve been trying to get my wife on board with eMeals for a long time now. It’s a great concept and tries to make our lives easier. The problems come in when you have some picky eaters at home. Getting a picky eater to try new things every day has been difficult. The second issue is the integration with Kroger click list. When you add your ingredients to click list you have to go through each item individually in the Kroger app since it doesn’t recognize the names or wants you to pick between a variety of items. It becomes very time consuming to make a shopping list. You have to check and triple check everything. The last and worst offending issue with eMeals is their cancellation policy. You have to call their office to cancel. You cannot cancel at any time. When I just called to cancel my auto renewal the agent tried to upsell me on another plan and then got kind of rude when I declined. If they made it cheaper per month and allowed people to cancel and renew at will, it would make more sense.

Much needed features still lacking. After years using the app, there are some improvements but essential features are still missing. There is no way to add notes to a recipe. Some recipes have odd or incorrect instructions. When creating grocery lists, if an item is named differently in two recipes, it shows up separately on the grocery list. For example onion (yellow) would show up in addition to yellow onion. So you still have to scour the grocery list to weed out and combine ingredients. I don’t do grocery pick up, so I’m not interested in that feature, and I think that’s where all the attention has gone for this app lately. Today I opened it and all of my meal plans were empty. So I had to remember what was on the list and search for the remaining meals. After all these years, it’s still too awkward and glitchy to warrant more stars.

Love, love, Love. I tell so many people about my experience using eMeals (2+ years now). Our busy household leaves little time for meal planning and the resulting grocery list. Most times it would either mean grocery shopping every day or every other day, picking up necessary ingredients. The weekly shop was buying staples and buying things that could be made into a meal. So there I would stand with my chicken breast trying to figure out what I was going to do with it. No more! Not only do we spend WAY less on groceries every week, we eat a much greater variety of meals. The app/account can be shared across multiple phones so kids can get in on choosing meals, checking off already on-hand ingredients, or adding special requests to the grocery list. I’ll be sticking with eMeals for years to come!

Only Recipes I Ever Use!. What can I say I LOVE THIS APP. I wish my family and friends would listen to me. Everything I’ve ever made, has been a scrumptious. Follow the recipes and it is fool proof. I end up using many common ingredients in my fridge, and learn how to use ingredients I’ve always wondered about while browsing the store. It keeps my family’s palate varied, and nutrition intake balanced. I also love the vegan recipes. My favorites list is super hefty, so it takes nothing but a search to cure my craving. They archive every single recipe they’ve ever posted, and they’re so plentiful! Customer service was also great to interact with over the phone. I’m a Shipt shopper myself, and can see how awesome and feasible it would be to populate a grocery list with my Shipt membership, if ever I find the need to have a delivery. Tonight we are making a vegan pasta bake 😋

I absolutely love eMeals!!!. Upon reading reviews people have left, I see that eMeals has corrected a lot of what was wrong. Or improved, because the things I love are the suggestions I have read that people have. The meals are delicious, I love that you can bounce back and forth to different plans. For recipes and a different vibe. The grocery cart is an awesome feature. My one suggestion is a way to sinc it with MyFitnessPal so I can track calories. There is no easy way to load it into that app, to get a accurate nutrition breakdown for those that track. It's does offer it's own breakdown at the bottom of the recipe, so you know what you are consuming, but if you are tracking in MFP you can only add the calories you consumed and loose the breakdown of macro nutrients. It would be great to have, but I love this so much, it's not a game changer.

19 September update is abysmal. I’ve been an eMeals subscriber for numerous years and have used the mobile app since it was introduced, all with great satisfaction. I frequently recommended the service to others. Since last week’s update, I haven’t been able to use the app. After the update, the 2 Shopping Lists (each with a dozen or so meals added to the list) I had saved within the app just disappeared. Within the upgraded app, I eventually was able to browse through a few past weeks to recreate some of the list. Today, when I opened the app once again there’s nothing on my Shopping List from last week’s effort. So, basically for the past several months, I’ve paid for a subscription but have zero meal plans that I can use. As the app currently performs, I’m sorry to say I recommend that you pass — it’s just no longer functional.

Lots of feedback. Honestly I didn’t want to read the reviews because sometimes I feel like it’s a lot more negative than it is. But I wanted to get this app try and I do like the idea of it but I feel like the app is really hard to navigate and also it wasn’t connecting to local grocery stores near me so I couldn’t even pick up the food if I wanted to certain recipes. I was reading a lot of comments about how the customer service is awful. I do want to put my intake on this. I hate that you have to call them to cancel and I just can’t be done online but when I did call the cancel I didn’t have any weight time and they refunded me everything I was charged and she was extremely nice. So do you want to see this app has a lot of work and I feel like it’s really expensive but could be worth it if it worked better.

I will not be renewing.... So I get it, lots of options they call meal plans but the format is a little clumsy no way to leave out ingredients some one is allergic to, and adding the ingredients to my shopping list via the Walmart app is really hit or miss. There are tons of exotic ingredients that my local small town store is never going to carry and often I am having to rewrite a recipe to fix that. This is not It a bad app but it’s not a good one either it has potential but the developers are lazy and reuse recipes a lot after only 6 months I have seen a bunch of repeaters. If I wanted meatloaf once a week I would have just done that. I am also disappointed with how they handle costumer service via the app review, email and the phone. To many copy and paste answers please, if I found what you said to the other negative reviewers helpful I wouldn’t be compelled to write my own. Blah blah it was in your term and call this useless number for more help. Anyways like I said it has potential but I won’t be joining for another year unless some serious updates come out.

Great product. We've been emeals subscribers since it was PDF printouts with only 2 meal plans- back then we used it to stay paleo. Now that the App exists and I have three kids I'm still a huge believer. I can breeze through the grocery store in 30 minutes and I save a considerable amount of money. Let me give you my top three pros and cons: Pros: 1. Easy shopping list interface 2. Many many meal choices and almost all are good. Rare to find a main recipe that we hate but we come across one a quarter or half year. 3. Keeps the budget and focus in the store. That equals smaller waist lines and smaller bills. Cons: 1. Bizarre sides at times. I like to branch out but the weird salads are at times are weird. I always sub a standard veggie or salad for those. 2. I usually find one plan for a week to be boring and too similar in too many ways to the previous week. We like variety so I use 3-4 to come up with the complete week. This is an option so I guess I shouldn't complain. The one least prone to this is quick and healthy. 3. No personal comments or mods can be made on the apps recipe. This option should be added. All that said, I've suggested many things over the years that they've implemented (Favs and sharing), so, seriously. Love it.

Life changing!. MOST of the battle (not half of the battle, MOST) for us is deciding what to have for dinner. Lots of menu options and while there is some crossover between menus, there’s still a large variety of recipes. I love having the entire meal- including sides-, click click click and you’re done. “Here’s your shopping list.” (Or click here to order online!) LOVE IT!!! At least three quarters of the recipes we try are outstanding. (Hey. They can’t all be winners. 😆) But most of them are delicious! My sister and I both started using emeals at the same time and are big fans. The people we’ve told about it and started using it love it too! The *only* issue is that there’s no search function in the app. You can still find the recipes online using a search engine. But that doesn’t allow you to add to your weekly recipes/shopping list. I hope hope hope the developers are reading this and add the search function. Then it won’t be five stars, it will be ten!!!

Great!. I accidentally signed up for the yearly plan and I didn’t read the information provided that I would be charged $100 after a 30 day trial. I was upset when the charge came out of my bank account and I sent customer service a very rude message. I would like to apologize for that by giving this app a 5 star review. Not only was customer service extremely accommodating to me, refunded all of my money quickly and were very kind when I was not, I decided to subscribe to the monthly dinner plan and it is amazing!!! I love it. The recipes are easy and delicious and healthy and it is so convenient to send the shopping list to my local Walmart, conveniently adding on whatever else I need and drop by and pick it up within hours. This app has literally made my life a lot easier. I’ve done HelloFresh on and off for a year and I prefer this so much more. It’s great! Thanks so much, eMeals

My Favorite App!!. It’s hard for me to put into words how much I love this app!! It has taken such a massive amount of thought and time out of my life by making meal planning and shopping easier! I’m able to find a great selection of meals we love every week between what’s new in all of the plans. And the shopping list integration with Walmart is awesome!! Love being able to check off things I already have or will pick up at Sam’s in bulk and at the same time only getting exactly what I need to cook each week. Great ability to save our most loved as Favorites right in the app to add to our list again later. We are a couple with no children but subscribe for family size and that usually gives us 3 servings left after dinner for a leftovers night or, more likely, to pack for our work lunches later in the week!

Free trial worked - UPDATED. Started the free trial and it worked fine. After the 10 days I was charged for a 3 month subscription - which was fine - except I can no longer access anything from the app. My iTunes account reflects I have the subscription and my card on file was charged but when I go to the eMeals app it says my subscription is expired and to renew it. I even tried to renew it but I get a pop up that says “Cannot purchase”. 🤔 Since this post I have updated to 5 stars - I contacted Customer Service and they were AWESOME! I left my number so I didn’t have to wait - got a call back from them within 10 minutes! They fixed my account and even gave me an upgrade! So excited to use this app!! Thanx EMeals for making this so easy!!

Tried Several Plans -All Good. We've been using eMeals for many many years. I first heard about it from Dave Ramsey. We were interested in getting a meal plan that's healthy but didn't break the bank. We started with Publix, then Kroger, then settled on Aldi and now Quick and Healthy. We love the cost savings at Aldi but recently started using Click List at Kroger. Great combo! I choose 4-5 of the meals, kick the list out to Kroger and pick up my groceries the next day. Anything to keep from eating out so much is a winner to me! We never get all 7 meals bc we supplement with family favs and Cooking Light meals. I still print the list on paper, circle the meals we like and then highlight all the items for those meals. Then I check off anything we already have or want to get from Aldi and the rest goes thru Kroger/Click List. Huge time saver!

What a way to simplify!. Meal planning becomes so much simpler with this app! Add recipes you want to make quickly. Add to your shopping list easily, including additional items you may need. Room for improvement: add a place to make notes on a meal (ways you modified a meal, who liked what, things you might change for next time); I love the shopping list feature and how it’s arranged per section of the grocery store- hard to scroll through when shopping though, maybe allow the ability to tap on a section and allow the items in that section to appear as a drop down menu to facilitate scrolling sections. Very easy to check off items as you shop and I love the count down feature! If you have kids you’ve heard, “How many more things do we need?” Totally simplifies the answer!

Saves time, money, and we eat healthier. It took me awhile to totally buy in to using this app in part because I didn’t always find enough recipes my family would like in one particular meal plan. Now that I am able to search all the meal plans and add the recipes to my grocery list I have no trouble coming up with 5-7 meal recipes a week that my family likes and will eat. Pros: 1. I don’t have to spend time meal planning, looking through cookbooks or Pinterest, ultimately wasting time doing so. 2. I can shop for groceries online!! Talk about time and headache saver! I have 4 small kiddos and taking them into the store to grocery shop is not fun. 3. We eat more vegetables! 4. We try new recipes. Sometimes they are a hit! And when they are, I save them to my favorites. 5. I don’t have to come up with dinner last minute. I just open my app, pick one of the recipes I added to my list, and make it. I know I have the ingredients and I know how long it will take to make it. 6. Last but not least, it saves us money! We eat the food we buy, we don’t buy a bunch of extra stuff we don’t need, and we eat out a lot less. Cons: 1. Sometimes the new recipes we try don’t go over well with the kids. Hope this helps! It took me awhile to buy in but now that I see all the benefits, I love it!

Great for families, not for singles. The application and service are both great for families who want to plan a wide variety meals whilst maintaining a budget. There are many options to choose from. The main plan gives access to many different kinds of dinner meals from different cuisines. It’s a great way to explore food as a family. They also have a great plan for those wanting to have variety with breakfast or lunch. The plan, however, is not ideal for single people. I don’t eat much myself and so I was only able to utilize about three of the seven dinner recipes. I made about three portions for myself from one meal and so was restricted for about two weeks with what I could eat. Overall, this is great for families who want to explore food efficiently, but single people should just plan their own meals with their own budgeting.
