Title change bug fix needed.. When changing a recording title it does not show change until you click on either All or Calls (whatever tab is unselected). Easy work-around but very irritating the first time you use it and the title change keeps disappearing. Rule number #1: Fix the bugs the show up upon customers first use and irritate your customer during their first experience. Especially trivial-to-fix bugs like this. There's a tendency in the industry to mark these type of bugs as "minor" where they then get shoved down and never fixed—but the impact to your sales and customer satisfaction is actually major.) -Retired Senior QA Engineer (Intel/EMC, many others). Fix this bug and I'll write you a better review.

Buggy transcription service. One of my most frequently used apps to record phone interviews. And it works great for that. BUT: Unfortunately the transcription service does not work well. I am unable to export any transcriptions (constantly get a “there is a problem with saving the file” error message) - meaning I have to manually copy the transcription and paste it into a document on my phone myself. Additionally, it does not seem to want to properly transcribe voice recordings. It only transcribed the first 2 minutes out of a 20 min recording. Yet I am unable to delete that buggy transcription to try over. Needs substantial work on the developer side. It’s also IMPOSSIBLE to get help from customer support. I waited nearly a month for a reply last time. And it was useless.

Horrible, DO NOT get!. When I got this app, I thought it would be marvelous for business, facetime, live, etc. but oh boy was i wrong! first, it asks for your phone number. I decided to look at the reviews before i went on. they all said it was terrible but me being me i went on with my business on there. I got it and immediately an ad popped up saying you could either buy one year, 3 month, 1 month, or 7 day free trial. So i tried the free trial, excited for what it would do. Then, it said that if i wanted this free trail, i needed to BUY the one year. i was disappointed but then it said “this app does not work with Verizon anymore” and it closed it. i retired and tried to get back in but it wouldn’t let me. so i deleted it, but DO NOT GET IT!!

Locks access to recordings made under paid subscription. Beware that this app will lock you out of recordings made during your paid subscription period. I’m a journalist and had recorded several interviews under the paid subscription only to go back a couple of days later and find that I could not access them at all. This app holds your content hostage until you pay another month’s fee. Overall, the function of the recording is OK. But if you don’t immediately download the file (or if the transcription feature doesn’t work right away) and your subscription ends, then you’ve wasted your money/time AND lost access to your recordings.

Don’t work for the things I am really needing to do. I’m in the middle of a phishing scam and I am trying to get it all recorded on the app here , but I’m trying to get it to come on and I am really shocked that they didn’t get how I was acting so , blahhhhh!!!! Hey if you’re going to get it to play with I can give it a couple Starr’s from my heart feeling bad about having to go to you and tell the way it would never come on and I don’t have merger for some reason when I’m using my phone and I have my number and their number going then I’m fumbling around trying to get the apps phone number merged into each other however I am really thinking about just using my second iPhone to merge as one and then I will get it to record it using my microphone on my iPhone or recording a message but I’m sorry I’m not going to pay for the app then not even have it working at all!!!!hope you fix this app and get it to work as well as you say it does, but it does not!!!

Don't use if you work in audio. * Quality is abysmal because you're being routed through this call recording line. Both sides sound decidedly worse than in original call. Hard to hear, too. * What is with the series of beeps at the beginning of each call? Call recipient apparently doesn't hear them but they're in the recording which is a problem. * Because of the need to route the call through this other line, you have to hang up whatever conversation you were having after you get permission to record, then call back. Sometimes the calls just drop or don't go through. Not sure that can be blamed on Tape A Call rather than the network but TapeACall still starts recording nothingness if the call is dropped * UI is counterintuitive. Not immediately obvious how to rename recordings so I just have a series of "Untitled." Sharing also a little wonky (if you rename in share and delete the filetype suffix it becomes an unreadable text doc??) In the end, if you're trying to record a phone call to replay later and not just to transcribe, you might be better off plugging your phone into some speakers and recording your conversation on a separate device with a voice memo or something. It'll probably be less distorted.

Trash. I have to do a few rounds of calls for a really important project. Did a few tests before the first important call. Saw that the recording saved. I was so excited about the call (because it was VERY important) and didn’t go back to listen. Over the course of the day I proceeded to schedule a few more calls. Scheduled a call and was super pumped once the call finished. I proceeded to check to make sure it saved before getting ready for yet ANOTHER call and to my dismay the call hadn’t saved. The person agreed to re-do the call tomorrow, so I wasn’t completely lost. At that point I decided to look on the bright side. At least the first call saved, right? WRONG!!! I went back to listen to the call and heard nothing but white noise. It suffices to say I’m very upset with this service.

Does not work/ Free trial deception. I decided to proceed and continue with the 7 day free trial “offer” that would only be available if you purchase the one year subscription (the most expensive option oddly enough. Well after using the Touch ID verification, I was billed instantly. Although I tried to go through apple to request a refund, some of you may know how their automated checklist makes cases like mine impossible to get a refund. Anyway I didn’t think it was much of a big deal considering I have used the app in the past and it did work. I thought I would use it more often now that I have a one year subscription. But guess what? IT DOESN’T WORK! It automatically disconnects once you try and merge the call to start recording. So don’t get scammed into this. Here I am short over $30 on something completely useless. But I am going to make sure that the one year subscription I paid for will be devoted to each day of exposing this scam until my subscription expires in over 300 days. That is until they beg me to accept a refund

It’s OK but too many steps. This is ok for planned outbound calls, although I would prefer it to have less steps with that. For incoming calls it’s a freaking joke. Imagine your cell phone rings and it’s a call you’d like to record the call. You have to accept the call, go to the home screen, dial the tape a call number, Waite for it to pick up, push merge call and then start your conversation. The idea of this app is great but the actual operations are very disappointing. Why can’t we just have a setting that we want to record all calls and then we can sort out which ones we want to keep or delete? If that’s too hard, just have a simple option to press “record” before dialing or when a call is coming in. ONE STEP ONE SECOND, Not 5+ Steps that can take as long as 30 seconds. Yes I have timed it. If an app comes out that can do this easier, I’ll switch. For now, I’ll keep using this.

Accessibility features. The developer of this app and also the app. On low quality. This app is not worth the time to get. It is not coded to work with accessibility for the iPhone. Voiceover does not work well at all. But then again the developers don’t take blind people into consideration. I had very important phone calls. Since I cannot see to write the information down I have lost lots of valuable information. I cannot get this app to merge phone calls at all. My advice to anyone out there find a better app. Because this one’s not worth the monthly fee. Just developer is a very poor low-quality programmer. This company is a disgrace. You would think they would make your apps work with voiceover on the Apple products and make their abs 100% better quality. They do not.

One of the best apps for my needs. I have been using TapeACall Pro and recommending it to others for years. It is the heart of my business (I do spiritual counseling over the phone). It’s so easy to record a call, which I then upload to my Dropbox so I can share the link with my clients. They love having a recording they can download and keep indefinitely, and listen to as many times as they wish. Every once in awhile, especially when a new or updated iOS is released, I temporarily have trouble with the recording. I find it typically lasts only a day or so, and only once (just recently) did it last for about 3 weeks. Outside of that I have zero complaints and total gratitude for the creators of this app. I realize this may sound like a “fake” or “paid” review. It is not. I am simply someone who, in these challenging times we find ourselves in, likes to give credit and positive feedback where it is genuinely due.

I feel scammed. Taking my money over a year and can’t use app!!. I purchased this a couple years ago and had been using it regularly. I changed my phone number a while back and since then the app blocks me from using itself! It claims “only members can access our services” when I attempted to tape an outgoing call. They’ve been getting $9.99/m from me for 2 years and a year and a half of that I couldn’t use the app because there’s nowhere to update your phone number. I even downloaded their lite version and attempted that too. It’s been really frustrating and I’m out now a lot of money unless the company decides to refund me for a product that was never able to get used because of a faulty algorithm of sorts that doesn’t offer a solution to update something as simple as your phone number to continue being a customer.

Unreliable. Keep looking.. Don’t get this app especially if you want to use for professional purposes - search for another that will actually work. This is the only review I’ve ever bothered to write - but I wanted to do so because this app has not worked once for me and has cost me some valuable information. I was counting on the Pro version to at least do what the app’s title is: “tape a call”. The fact that the developer takes money for something defective (eg for Verizon customers) is frankly unethical. A cheat, a thief in other words. This isn’t 2008 and early days of apps and smartphones. I don’t mean to sound so prickly but what a waste. If the company reads this, please offer to refund my purchase and write that in the comments below.

Bad costumers service. Trying to contact costumer service but they only have a computer or (artificial intelligence) answering you. Both times told me that e representatives will contact me in two weeks and the two weeks come and i get email Saying that they are busy at the moment. Really that many complaints you guys have that cannot keep up with it... the app works fine for me and I love it never have a problem with it so far but recently I changed my phone number and I can’t use the app until my number is changed wish I need costumer service help,I paid the premium for a year and I not enjoying the services because again I changed my number and the app won’t let me change it please contact me or I want a refund back Thanks hope to hear back from y’all

Very useful app, but what happened to the features?. As a reporter, I use this app all the time. But recently it had dropped two features that were incredibly helpful. 1) You could change the speed of playback: Fast if you wanted to breeze through an interview, slow if you wanted to transcribe without stopping. Now you can’t! 2) You could change the number of seconds it backtracked with the little reverse button. 15 seconds is a long time and really slows my work now. Can’t be changed anymore. Please bring these things back!!!

App did not record my my call. As I followed the steps to record my call given by the video as soon as you download the app and hook up your debit/credit information (which was I believe, a bit over the top for wanting to try out the app and only way you can try the app is by linking your card info to even start the free trial...) I made a call to a auctioneer’s right hand man for a registration title because they’ve been taking too long to give me my license plate and I wanted to use the call as leverage; long story short. The call didn’t record I could only hear me moving the phone for the first few seconds and the rest was just empty space on the recording. This wouldn’t recommend this application to nobody. Sad that this is the only application being bumped up to the top of the list of the recommended list for recorded calls applications. Hopefully they could fix this problem. Until then I leave them a 1 star rating. Thanks

SCAM ALERT. I subscribed for the 7-day free trial and tried cancelling through TapeACall. TapeACall says you must cancel through the Apple iTunes Store. There was no way for me to cancel through apple because nothing showed up in my subscriptions. Yet I was still charged $60 for the year subscription - by TapeACall! Yes, TapeACall directly charged me $60 - but they make it impossible to cancel your subscription. I will be reporting this to the BBB and other authorities. This is unacceptable. I live paycheck to paycheck. What I’m really worried about now is that they’re going to charge me another $60 next year and so on. I will be fighting this tooth and nail on every front. Hey TapeACall, give me my money back. This is the kind of stuff lawsuits are born from. Remember that.

This app is awful. Buyer beware. The app does not work, and there is no Support service with this company. They give you an option to email, but they do not reply. There is no option to speak to anyone by phone. I purchased this service this month because I had a lot of very important calls that I needed to have recorded. When the time came to do that, the app did not work for me. I wrote Support and they gave me a reply, and told me how to uninstall and reinstall the app. They promised I would not be charged a second time. That was not true, I could not reinstall the app without paying a second time. I was charged twice for the same month, the app still did not work, and I have written to them four times since then, and they will not reply to any of my messages. I have no way of contacting them by phone, I have repeatedly let them know that I am upset about this, and they still will not contact me. Buyer beware, do not install this malicious app.

Do NOT use!. Don’t use this app! If the other person you are calling/trying to record has a smart phone, it displays on their phone that they are in a conference call! They also keep trying to bill you even if you uninstall the app! Make sure you remove your billing information from the Apple Store!!! I tested this out with my friend by calling her phone, which she said came up as a conference call and that my voice was so choppy and distorted she couldn’t hear me, and it appeared this way in the recording too, however I will say it recorded her voice with no problems! But when we’re in a normal call without the recorder, both ends of the call are crystal clear. This app totally defeats the purpose of call recording if you need to record someone without them knowing and there’s nowhere in the app to cancel the free trial so you don’t get billed for a membership after the trial.

Very handy app. In the past, I have tried taking notes for calls I have with clients and doctors. Invariably, something important gets missed. I have used this app on a dozen incoming and outgoing call, both direct and via a conference bridge and it works great. Getting the operation right took a few tries when my contacts list came up instead of a keypad, but after using the app 2-3 times, it is quite natural. I have recorded hour long calls with no problem and can go back later to focus on something that came up in passing I would have missed. All in all, a very handy tool!

Wonderful App for My Purpose. My intention for using this app is that I am in a long distance relationship it is a long story but we can’t always talk sometimes we can only talk for a few minutes and I can’t always hear his voice when I want to so I’m able with this app to record some of our conversations and just replay it when I’m feeling like I miss him I wanna hear his voice I also get to listen to what he says and what I say and just kind of reflect and really listen sitting back

Introduces Terrible BUZZ Noise!. Don’t use this app if you intend to record conversations on a conference line (conference bridge). A conference bridge is a line all parties dial into and use a passcode to join a meeting. This method of conferencing is pervasive in the business world. If I call normally there is no background noise - works as intended. When I call into a conference bridge using the app and merge the calls there is a horrible persistent buzzing in the background. The tone of the buzz goes up and down which is very distracting and makes it difficult to hear the conversations. I have the same issue on two different iPhones using two different networks (T-Mobile and Verizon; iPhone 7+ and iPhone SE). The buzz is ONLY introduced when I call into a conference call bridge. Regular calls (non bridge) seem to work fine. Unfortunately this is the primary reason for my use of the app (recording phone meetings on a bridge for transcription). Note: when I tried to leave feedback to the developers using the link in the App Store it bounced me to a web page with only a link to an FAQ. There is a “contact” link on the web page but clicking it only takes you back to the same web page. There is no way to leave feedback and I’m certainly not leaving feedback on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. I thought most developers wanted real feedback. Too bad.

Disappointed. I bought a three-month subscription back in feb 2018. It started off okay but then after a few calls starting going out at around 2 minutes. The person on the other end couldn’t hear me. So most of my calls are the other person saying, “Hello. Are you there?” for a solid minute. It is very frustrating. and then after about 2-3 minutes the call comes back and the person on the other line can hear me again. But some people don’t wait that long and hang up. So it defeats the purpose of this app. I started recording conversations on my ipad instead (call on speaker and record a video on my ipad). Also, once the subscription ends, there is no way to go back and listen to my recordings again. That is just bologna!! I paid a decent amount of money to record conversations. I should be able to keep the conversations that were recorded during the months that I had it paid for.

What an incredible waste of time and money. I wanted something that would be professional and not have to interrupt the phone call or put someone on hold to record a call. I guess it satisfied those two criteria but when I don’t want to record a call the app randomly puts my caller on hold and then randomly calls someone else in my contacts. I either have to hang up on the person my phone called (rude) or wait to answer leaving my original phone call on hold with no explanation for doing so (very rude). When I try to hang up on the call I don’t want it often hangs up on both calls. Let’s just say this does not project professionalism. I paid for one month and cancelled three weeks before my month ended…..that’s how worthless it is. I really deserve my money back as I received nothing of value.

Disabled me from recording a critical conversation. Due to persistent and relentless adds it hindered my ability to record a call from my dying father who lives across country and that I may never have the chance to see again. I got on the app and could not access the app without purchasing it, when I clicked the “X” it kept putting me to more adds to pay for the premium version, so much so, out of desperation I bought the membership in hopes to catch what was left of the call, it failed me deeply, the pain I felt from this app afterwards was so intense that I have allowed myself to calm down before writing this review so I could come from a place of sincerity more than just pained emotion. After, saving my messages I have on here- I am deleting happily.

Great recording app! I use this all the time..... I use this app when I’m talking with my elderly mom who lives 2k miles from me. As she’s getting older I don’t know how many more “deep” conversations we will be able to share so I want to keep her memory alive for my kids and grandkids. Also, I use it when I’m talking business - (financial, legal issues, etc). I recently purchased a vehicle and during a couple of phone conversations I told the salesperson this call was officially being recorded - it’s funny how the other party keeps it on the “real” professional side. Well worth the $$

Voice service needs improvement. I tried this app for a week. It’s features are on par with other apps in this category. However, VoIP network is clearly leveraged for the recording leg of the call and the quality is very poor. A lot of jitter and distortion were introduced to calls, so much so that it at times made it difficult or impossible to understand the other party. I experienced the issue on multiple calls and verified it was the recording app\service by speaking with one party first without connecting to the service but then later starting the recording. It would completely meet my needs if network improvements were made to provide better quality of service.

App not working. The app was good when it was working i liked it but its not working anymore I tried to click the link for support but it sent me to an error page. I hate to leave a bad review… but i need this app to work i pay a monthly subscription for it so I expect it to. I checked other apps they are working fine. I don’t know how else to get a hold of support since thats not working either, so I guess i will just leave this review sorry.

Free Trial Technical Issues-Too Much Time Invoved. I have an iPhone X. I downloaded app an set up location. Tried making a call and the app would only call the access country number. I messaged support and got Lawrence. I told Lawrence the issues 2-3 times but he seem to continue with trouble shooting instead of reading the description of the technical issue with app. By the 3 message when I explained he needed to troubleshoot the app instead of troubleshooting my phone and my knowledge of the logistics. He stated he would and asked if I would delete app and re download. I will consider in future because it may of just been a simple glitch or bug that could of been fixed but due the time it took to setup, read, message support, remove app from my iTunes description and write a review; it does not include deleting or re-downloading app to “possibly” see if it works.

Cannot copy and paste a phone number to dial. The app will not let me copy and paste a phone number so from contacts or a text message and simply paste it into the dial menu of the app to make a call. It’s maddening I have to write down the number and then manually enter it into the dial menu within the app. Fix this please! And I keep getting notices that there is no king a requirement to merge calls, but clearly that’s not the case. Or is it? And you continue to advertise how easy it is to record incoming calls, but it’s not so easy or intuitive. There’s no just “tap here” to record the incoming call. Why can’t the app recognize I have an incoming call and ask me if I want to record it?

Didn’t record call.. I had used this before and it seemed to work okay but I had an extremely important call that had fo be recorded and properly merged the calls and it even shows on my call log that the call lasted 46 minutes and merged. The call never showed up in my app. They have zero live customer service. The chat feature is a bot and asks very generic questions and sends the transcribed issues to the support team and will follow up in 24 hours. This makes zero sense especially in urgent customer service issues. I wouldn’t trust this app to record all of your calls properly. Customer support is not readily available. I paid for a year of call recording and am very disappointed that I wasted my money.

Good looking; doesn't work w/ Grasshopper. I am placing business calls from my personal cell phone. So I set up a separate phone number through Grasshopper. I then was hoping to use this tool to record my calls so I can work on improving my sales calls. Saw this, and hoped it would work, it doesn't. So I I installed it. Reason I still gave it 3 stars is because of all of the recording devices out there this is the best one. That being said: 1. it doesn't work for my purposes. 2. Their online 'bot' customer service is a joke. 3. It forces you to sign into the agreement to subscribe before you can even try it. It is a dumb move.

Horrible (do not buy!). The app calms to easily record calls. But only after you pay $30 for a year, and also get charged $5 for a mouth, at the same time. You find out it is not easy. You call separate numbers you have have your in coming call hold while you merge calls, ... hit this button..call this number... and when you finally record a conversation, you play it back to hear a recording that sounds like a 1942record player with a bad needle. I canceled and deleted the app the same day I was cheated in to paying for it.. but they got the money, and any business that bills you for month and year along with misrepresentation of product to get your money, that all they care about.. DO NOT BUY!!!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME I LITERALLY CANNOT RECORD. Literally as soon as you enter the app it pops up with a premium features screen and there is actually no freaking way to get out of it. When you click back it takes you to another premium features screen and on that screen there is an x. At this point, you might be thinking that you can click the x and you will be able to start recording but NO. WHEN YOU CLICK THE X IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE PREVIOUS PREMIUM FEATURES SCREEN!!! Am I doing something wrong? Or do I literally have to pay to actually be able to record. It’s so frustrating because it shows the record screen for a second then instantly goes to the stupid premium features screen! I have no clue why no other reviews have mentioned this. If someone is reading this please please please help me as I haven’t even gotten the chance to see if the app is actually good or not because I literally can’t record on it before it tries to get me to misclick the membership button! If someone helps me I will do a second review on the actual app but until then it is unusable for me.

Why Robokiller ad link in paid version?. I bought the Pro version and it has worked well so far. Every time I open the app, I see an advertisement link for Robokiller (which I already use and pay for). Why are you showing this ad link to paid users, especially to those who already bought Robokiller? I am used to ads being removed when you buy the full version. I'd prefer that the paid version not clutter up the interface with ads. I also notice that the screenshots in the App Store don't show the ad(s) on the app's main screen yet it is there in the app itself which feels like deceptive advertising.

Extremely Functional, Slightly Expensice. This app works absolutely fantastic! The quality of the recording is amazing, and it allows you to export the recording file to Google Drive (and exporting does not affect the sound quality!). Additionally, if you just need to record one phone call as a one time ordeal, the free trial gives you access to all of the app’s functions, so you can use it as a one time use phone call recorder if you want (just remember to unsubscribe from the auto-renewal!!) 100% recommend!!

Malicious Business Practices. This app works great. If you’re looking for a services of this nature I would recommend this technology. Although I would be very mindful of their business practices and I would review your bill very closely. As a result of an app upgrade I was double charged for over a year. When I rectified the situation the business selectively changed my plan to charge me over $30 per year when I was charged only $8 before the app issue. Customer service is extremely poor. Again, great technology but you need to think about the people you’re doing business with and will they take care of you when they make mistakes. For this company the answer is flat out no. But they will take advantage of you.

No longer works for Verizon Customers. I have been using this recording device for a few years now. At least three to four years. It worked really well. Then intermittently, I started having issues with the merge button. As soon as the call would be merged it would disconnect my call. I use this app almost daily for very important calls. When I first started experiencing this issue, I was told to use another US call in number and yes, that worked a couple of times, but now I’m being told that in order to solve this issue is to uninstall TapeACall and do a soft reset on my phone. Whatever that means... I would lose my work recordings I use on another app. All court procedures. No way, it’s not worth it. Why would anybody in their right mind would reset their phone to continue to use this App. I think it’s pretty ridiculous to expect your customers (Verizon only) to reset their phone. Bad enough when your phone company tells you to reset your phone. Bye TapeACall it’s been real, but I will have to find another reliable app. But it is an awesome awesome app. Just doesn’t work for Verizon customers who won’t reset their phones.

Charges. Was charged an annual subscription when only wanted a one month. And customer service pretty much said oh well. Couldn’t tell you if the product is worth it or not. I cancelled on day one and was not refunded any part of a annual subscription. Product is only as good as the customer service and in this case was horrible. To add to the review ... Have been given the run around to request a refund. TapeACall tells me not their problem and I have to take it up with Apple. However publicly they post they want me to contact them so they can resolve my problem which is not true as they just tell me it’s an Apple problem not them. Apple sends me to a place to report a problem to request a refund but tells me immediately it’s not eligible for a refund without even asking why. If I had been notified or asked to confirm a one year subscription before the trial was up before being charged I certainly would not have authorized. Be sure you want this app before you even consider a trial of it because one you are charged you are screwed if you don’t want it.

The sudden fee?! Tape a call pro?. I have had this app for over a year when I downloaded it, I did it because I was referred by someone because they said it was free. Buuuut just recently I’ve lost access to all of my recordings because it is telling me I now need to pay a fee. I started out without a fee, I did not receive any alerts telling me anything changed, and I think if this is the case then your company is wrong. I hope this can be fixed when you look at how long I’ve had this app downloaded. Because I do not feel that I need to pay for a service that I was not given a heads up that I would need to start paying for it. Also I do not have tape a call pro, so it looks as though my “tape a call” app and your “tape a call pro” is being forced on me.

The use of TapeACall and it’s benefits. I use TapeACall all the time for important phone calls: like legal matters important things that I want to make sure that I have a record of. It’s easy to use and technically very very good and how you can even translate your conversation. I used it this morning for a program I called into to record my sharing on that program. So thank you for TapeACall I’ll have to go back through and entitle most of them: I do the most important ones. Thank you for the fact that they’ve developed this app: it’s been very useful to me and I know it will continue to be

Not Happy. I wanted to try this app out and did the free trial and cancelled it a day or 2 later. Now it tries to charge my apple account every month and it’s something I cancelled. I try to go into my subscriptions to change it now and only show paid options. I called Apple Support and they said I had to contact developer or pay for a service I never used and made sure to cancel. Now it’s been 3 months where I can’t use my Apple ID to purchase anything for my kids on any Apple Store or ITunes because of this “Free trial app” I had to go as far as creating a new ID and was locked out of my computer for not having my old Apple ID not yet setup for account recovery. This is a nightmare I wish would end!

Great app to get me through job on boarding phase. This is definitely a great app to get me through all the trainings I have been through for my on boarding process of the new job. One thing I would like to have through is the ability to edit the audio or flag the time point just like the bookmark so I can easily go back to the specific part if needed no need to go through the whole thing because some of my calls last for one or two hrs, just to much to navigate through. Also, the translation is kinda of slow, any possibility to get transcription while having the call so I don’t need to wait a long time after the call to generate transcription.

Perfect for Remembering & Training!. As a business owner and sales person, I’m in the field all the time and make many calls while driving. That means it’s impossible to write down notes so a lot of details could slip through the cracks. TapeACall it is my memory outsource! I know that I can go back and listen to details when I am back in my office. But more importantly, as the leader of the sales organization, it helps that I can have our team listen to the calls for training. We can do an autopsy of the call to see how we did.

No access to previous recordings w/o membership. I enjoyed the convenience of this app for court purposes. However the day when I had to submit some of the recording’s I was unable to access them because I did not renew my membership thinking my recordings would still be available after all I have paid for them. Had no use for the app due to the fact I had all the recordings needed so why would I need to pay for another membership ?!!! Ended up having to pay for it anyways just to get access to my recordings. If I’ve paid for the recording before my membership was over with I believe users like myself still should have the right to have access not pay for another membership just to access the ones they’ve already paid for !!!

Not Possibly Useful. It takes many clicks in different apps and you have to put the person you want to record on hold first to call and merge in their recording bot. Useless. I am not having a problem with three-way calling like the developer keeps insisting. The problem is that their product requires you to put the person you were trying to record on hold and then make a three-way call and then merge the call in order to have a recording. The developer replied that it’s probably an issue with my carrier and three-way calling but that’s not the issue. Your crap product is the issue. The app developer will tell you they have a three-step process for recording calls but that’s actually a lie. It does not work. It is seven clicks in three different apps in order to record a call. No matter what the developer tells you that is the truth. Stop trying to comment on my review with lies to make your product look more functional. That is not how your product works. Your advertising is misleading. In fact it’s a flat out lie. Your advertising says your product will automatically record all incoming and outgoing calls. But that’s not true. Automatic means I don’t have to make seven clicks on three different screens in order to make it work every time.

BE WARNED. Recordings are only saved for 6 months.. Added comment It does not ID the recording with the phone number for you No where does it mention the 6 month limit to save recordings that I see on this advertisement I purchased from. I like the tape a call program but this has cost me dearly. I have lost recordings I need I was too busy to save them and did not realize it was necessary. If I had known about it I would have rated higher I felt I needed to give only two stars to warn others of the six month limit I am wondering if there is some sort of limit on the number of recordings also because I only have my last 50 available and I thought had had more than 50 in the past 6 months I see new features I would use also that I was not aware of.

Scam Alert! If you download this app you’ll regret it!. This is my very first app review ever! I’m compelled to write it to warn others! Please Do not use this app! It’s been reported to Apple already. First it’s deceptive as there is no 7 day trial at all! You’ll be charged right away for whatever option you pick and no the 7 free days are not given. For example I downloaded the app today April 30th and was charged $4.99 immediately and next billing date was set for May 30th. Ok now the biggest issue yet? It does not work at all! You dial the number they assigned you and it literally says “Call recording is currently unavailable”! Lol what a joke! Basically you’ll be paying for services not rendered and then you have to contact Apple for refund and don’t forget to go to your phone settings to cancel subscription or else these thieves will be collecting from you every month! Could not restore my previous purchase/ account. I’ve had this app since 2015. It’s been automatically renewing my subscription ever since. Now, when I revisited it to use it for an important phone call recently, It shows on the app that I’m new to this and I’m back on a trial phase. I would not retrieve my previous purchase or subscription. Hence, i have to subscribe again with the inflated rated. I checked my email and I do not see any notices or messages with regards to any changes. The only email I have is from Apple, giving me a heads-up on the upcoming yearly renewal. Therefore, all this while, I’ve been paying this app for nothing? Developer customer service, can you please help me out here? Thank you. I’ll modify my review when all of this is sorted out.

Omg I wish I had this three months ago. If I had had this to tape all the conversations and the things that the California state unemployment board told me, my claim wouldn’t have been messed up. I would have had phone proof of everything they promised to do. However. I’m the type of person who hates subscriptions. Please get a one off option for $5 for a 1 hour call. People will immediately get the value and in the case where you have consistent problems with a stalker or something threatening you harm, having his app on a monthly fee makes sense. 7 day free trial why did it charge me for a month straight away. I want my money back it said 7 day free trial and yet you take out first months worth of subscription straight away not happy scam

Doesn't work - beware of "subscription". I used the trial version. Neither side could hear the other on the "merged" call. One side of the conversation was recorded in atrocious quality. When I sent the call to Dropbox it was there but no sound at all. I have "suspended" my subscription (you can't cancel!!) and am now hoping I don't get charged by this possible scam. Beware - it's not worth the hassle.

Got scammed!. Download this and cancelled on the same day - within the trial period and still got charged! False advertising there is no trial period. Tried to claim it back but haven’t had any luck. So frustrating.

Stops at 30 minutes, hard to get support. I purchased the pro "unlimited recording" plan but still my calls would not record over 30 minutes. Tried support chat, and email with no replies. No choice but to cancel subscription and find another solution

Poor. I can’t comment on this app because I haven’t used it yet, but I see there was 1 complaint from 2 years ago and the developer hasn’t even bothered to respond. Doesn’t say much for the App or the organisation that produces it!

Kept dropping calls. With this app you have to merge 2 calls. It would keep dropping the call with Tapacall but not the one with the call receiver. As a result I had to keep putting the person on hold to reconnect Tapacall. This app only had one job.

Not satisfied with it. I needed it for work, read all instructions and tested it, but it would not work. Contacted support and they also were not able to help. No follow up later. And when wanting to cancel subscription, it is like this really tricky process well hidden somewhere in the iphone settings. I could not find how to cancel the subscription in the FAQs. That alone is already dodgy. And shows they are aiming for people to forget about it and quietly taking the monthly subscription fee. In the end I was never able to use it, paid one month and won‘t see the money again. Not impressed at all.

Works nice but!!. It works fine on my phone but everytime i use this app to record phone call, the other person on the phone with me asks me what was that??? To record calls this app put the call on hold initially. so the other person would ask me about that. It’s annoying when the other person on the phone is the person you mostly talk with and when you have to answer what was that? Isn’t it possible to not put the call on hold and not let the other person know what is going on while recording calls? I would like to hear from the app developer regarding this. Thanks

Usually good but some drop outs. It’s an effective and simple to use app but a little buggy - I’ve used it for the first time 6 times today and 3 of those calls dropped out.

It doesn’t work. I’ve used Tape A Call for a couple of years now without problems. However, the latest version has failed me. I’ve tried to record three calls this morning, and although after each one I receive a ‘Your recording is now available’ notification, not one call recording is saved in the app. So disappointing for an app I pay good money for and rely on for my work. not happy. Had an important call to record over a work dispute, did a trial calling a friend to make sure it worked, then made the call i wanted to record. there was someone else talking on the line other than the person I called and a delay in hearing what the other person was saying by a couple seconds - he noticed it and it made my call look very suss. deleted the app and cancelled the subscription- once cancelled they offered it to me for half price. it’s a rip off at that. waste of time.

!!WORST APP EVER. THEIFS!!. I downloaded this app for literally no longer than 4 minutes and deleted it because it looked to bad. Little did I know they would be STEALING MONEY FROM ME. Not a free app. Classic bait & switch scam. Not a free app, it’s a payed app with a 7 day free trial period with all the auto renew/subscribe if not cancelled. Didn’t go passed the “subscribe” screen so may very well be a great app if your willing to pay the $42 (or equivalent in your currency), not what’s advertised though

Is no longer working! BE AWARE. Look at this apps Facebook profile to see the amount of unsatisfied customers and no responses. Recording phone calls is no longer working, if you get it to work it drops the recording halfway. Transcripts come for the first two minutes and then nothing. There’s no way to trigger the transcript again. I was using it fine until the last four months, I want a refund if I won’t be able to use this app for the remaining of the time I have left on my subscription.

Clunky and too many clicks. Ive tested this so you don’t have to. First off the outgoing calls are recorded via a landline number it routes you to. You must start the call within the app, which is requiring you to change behavior as well as punch the number you are calling every time. The connection is clunky and you can tell something is going on. However it does record the call As for incoming calls, you have to answer your call. Say “hang on a minute” then call the landline number I mentioned above and then merge. If that works for you, then this app does what you want it too. If you are thinking its way too much effort and interruption, then look else where.

Dont use , No free Trial. Don’t use this app . They asked me to add billing info to use free trial and also mentioned that they will deduct charges after free trial duration and free trial was for 7 days. but as i added my account details to start using free trial , they deduct monthly charges from my account same time . Used to work every time now it fails constantly. I don’t know what’s happened to this up but I used it for years with no issue. In the last two weeks it’s failed me every single time. The recording plays hold music, the call won’t merge, when it does merge it will drop out. It’s very buggy and I’ve tried absolutely everything to fix it. I even contacted my provider to make sure my three way call settings hadn’t been changed. They reset them and still nothing. Really disappointing I’m a journo and rely on this to record interviews. I’ve had to go back to a hand held voice recorder and putting my phone on speaker until I can find another app which is very inconvenient.

Query. Hi I would Iike the tape a call app to be upgraded in terms of having access to email labeled recordings which appears on the email as the labeled name not appearing as numbers on the email.

Make it better. Should be like screen record , start the recording then make the call . Not put on hold . Annoying process .

Not impressed - billed unnecessarily. I found it ineffective having to wait for a phone call before having to go into the app to start recording. Also I was being billed monthly without knowing!!!! I downloaded the lite version being told it was free but unknowingly I was being charged $6 a month. Extremely unethical.

Really unethical practice. You took my number and then tell me that I have to pay for it , I want you to pay me to take my information . My information is valuable to me (aka my number). I am a UX designer and this is a bad experience and infringement of my privacy without anything in exchange

Don’t give your number. Asks for your number and then once entered it says you have to pay. So you give them your number in return for nothing unless you want to pay. Which without a free trial I wouldn’t bother

Doesn’t allow free trial without payment. It’s fair enough if the app developers only allow trial after payment however the statements on iTunes Store and within the app are contradictory, one states would only bill after the trial period is over and the app states payment would be taken as soon as purchase is confirmed.

No longer works. As with many other reviews here, the app no longer works for me. I had found Tape A Call was once one of the best recording apps. Since the most recent update to iOS technical problems have arisen. The app no longer records any sound, the iOS keyboard is disabled if you manage to merge the calls and sometimes the call cannot be merged at all. You can see the app appears to be recording, but there is no audio recording at all if the mp3 file is previewed. I am seasoned user of Tape A Call. I’ve used the app successfully in the past without any issues whatsoever. I know how to use the app well. Something has gone wrong since the most recent iOS update. Now the app no longer works judging by the recent reviews.

Disgraceful. Firstly you are forced to accept FACEBOOK’s (yes Facebook!) terms and conditions, data and privacy policy before you can use the app (forced sms verification using FB’s kit)... then you are told you cannot use the app until you sign up. Misleading advertising. Terrible app.

This should have 1 star now. I used this app last year and it was perfect. Didn't need to hit record manually, it automatically recorded all your calls. So, I bought the app assuming it would be the same only to find out I have to go through a procedure every time in order to record? Not convenient at all. Good bye, $$$

Suggestions. It would make it a whole lot easier if you could make the app either automatically or connect to an incoming and outgoing calls, prior to accepting or answer it. I don't like how you have to wait for the call be be answered before you can start your Conversation. I find this an inconvenience for the purpose of this app. Especially when you pay yearly.

Worst App ever!. I tried using the trial version first but unable to add a call !! I removed all my details and logged out and deleted the app as well. But today I am charged for something which wasnt even useful a bit 🙄

This app does not work. Don’t trust this app. I am a journalist and had two important calls to make for a feature story. I followed all the instructions but the first call recorded only hold music and the second just cut out after 30 seconds. I did some dummy calls to test its reliability and most of them failed. Massive disappointment and inconvenience. Next step for me is to cancel my subscription before the free trial ends ... and never come back.

Does not work. I tried this app first in the lite/free version, and it worked fine but only records 1minute, then I paid for the upgraded version thinking I would get unlimited time as stated. BUT this app has not worked for me at all, nothing, zilch nothing, I'm not happy and feel like I have been ripped off, I have tried support and no reply nothing.

Disappointing. Had an important call to record and all I got was the elevator music and not the conversation. I get that the calls didn’t merge properly but I definitely pushed the merge calls button....gutted. I won’t get the chance to record that conversation ever again. Then insult to injury, there is an automatic renewal after the trial period which was taken out. I’ve now cancelled it but it will teach me to deal with these kind of trials in future. Not impressed.

Review. Works great,can here the recording very clearly. Only issue is how many buttons you need to press in order to record the call bit of a pain.

Avoid. I've used a number of (free) voice recorder apps and this was easily the worst. It kept failing, not recording at critical moments and failing to do what it says in the instructions. I got a refund from Apple but save yourselves the bother. Audio Recorder for the Mac is much better, more reliable and free. Notably the app developer doesn't bother to reply to complaints either.

It works perfectly now. All the other Call Recorder’s wouldn’t work for me except for this one highly recommended it works better than the other.

Not recommended. I decided to use this app for phone interviewing for my Media business. The problem started straight away. For the first interview which was not recorded entirely I thought it was my fault and I forgot to press the merge button. It happened couple of more times and I was still thinking it’s my fault of forgetting to press merge button. Today I had a very important interview. It took about 28 minutes and when I decided to edit and publish the interview, I realised that most of it is not recorded. Only couple of seconds from the start of interview and around 5 minutes from the middle of the interview is recorded and the rest is not there. It’s a shame. I have to apologise the person I was interviewing again and do the interview again with more reliable app

It worked for what I needed it for.. The App worked for what I needed it for. I have conversations that I taped in 2020/2021 that I still have access to and I can listen to.

Really frustrating!!. I got this program to record important interviews for work. it started off working well with decent transcriptions, but the last two calls I made were not recorded with this program and I had two audio files with just nothing on them. I don’t think it was worth paying for considering it only recorded three out of five calls properly.

Not user friendly. Not user friendly at all. You have to press many buttons manually to record a call. And that’s no free trial unless you subscribe annually. So I just paid one month ($1X) to try the app and found out how difficult it is to use. Stopped my monthly subscription and wouldn’t recommend this app

Doesn’t work. I was excited to use this app as it was recommended by the transcription service I use (Rev) but after three attempts it managed to only record 1 of the 3 interviews I did and I lost content. An error message occurred after the first successful recording and there is no indication of why. Totally bummed.

Scam. Be careful don’t use this app. It is simply a scam. It main purpose is data collection. It is just a simple recording app, it is not rocket science. So why you ask for the phone number. And even after providing the phone number then they ask you to buy it otherwise you cannot use the app. So why you didn’t mention that first, so I wouldn’t give out my phone number. So they will get your phone number anyway. Then good luck with scam calls and tex you receive. And if you answer a scam call, just by talking you are giving out you voice signature, it can be used using machine learning techniques to mimic your voice to say a whole paragraph. This can be easily used for any voice verification based access such as calling you bank branch. Warning: Please do not download this app, if you have downloaded it, remove it from your device immediately if you love your privacy!!!!!

I like it.. I like the app overall but if the recordings could start on their own, would be good. Now, if I have to record the incoming call, the other party would know as I have to put their phone on hold.

Crap. This must be a spying application. Every time people record stuff, when you go to listen to it, it’s not available. I believe they have it on a data bank when they done listen to it after couple hours they make it available to you. The recordings are for you and them. That’s why I do not use it anymore.

Scam. Don’t download!! Once you download, if you go to your subscription page, there is no option to cancel subscription! You can only renew. My subscription is coming to an end in 2 weeks so I tried to cancel but can’t. Tried to contact the developers but the link doesn’t work.

I installed Lite but it’s actually Pro and it asked for credit card even before I use it. After installation it show up as Pro version and if I don’t put credit card info, it doesn’t go anywhere. Useless !

Ripped off! Charged my credit card. I only wanted the free trial version and they charged me $22 for 3 month subscription. I contacted them and asked for refund but no response. Just automated email responses that don’t help at all!

TapeACall dropped. Every time I try to use the application to record anything, it drops the call after merging calls. It was working great before. Not sure why it suddenly stopped again. I can’t use this app until it’s fixed. It’s disappointing because I pay about $40-$50 a year for it. I’m going to have to use a microphone attached to my laptop now or a separate cellphone.

Shady. They are making it very difficult/impossible to delete my account. I have to chat with a bot and can’t delete my account without providing information I never gave them to begin with. More shady practices by a Facebook owned platform.

Good but a couple things. I received a discounted offer a few days into using the app as long as I paid for the full year. I paid and realized that transcriptions did not come included with the package I bought, turns out they are an extra charge. Annoying. No info on the calls that are recorded - no phone #, very little space to leave any notes about the recorded call. No ability to paste in numbers on the dialer screen. It’s a little thing but annoying it cannot be done. I don’t take any stars off for the way calls have to be recorded, that is an IOS limitation and is fair. But those 2 issues should be addressed.

Great tool for journalism students. I've used this numerous times, and even when I got nervous because recordings seemed to take long to save, the app has never failed me.

This app doesn’t work all the time. I have paid for a year for this app and it doesn’t work. I also had the week free and in the week free it didn’t let me forward the recording to my email and another email. It didn’t record a few phone calls that needed to be recorded. I am hoping I don’t get charged for this at all. I will not request this caller record to anyone as it didn’t serve the purpose at all in my case for recording phone calls all I got was a beeping sound. There is a now show of the recording to the two emails I have sent it to. Why pay for a app that doesn’t do what it is suppose to do. It never records all calls. This app works when it wants to work. I could even forward the recorded messages to my email or to a second party. This app isn’t worth the time. Furthermore I deleted the app after I sent the email and thought the email went threw. When I reopened the caller recorder I had to start all over. The recordings where really need and this app didn’t even help me out at all. This app has just caused more problems then anything. Not even worth your time to even download the app

False Advertisement. The ad banner clearly states “no more merging!” and shows an option for incoming calls. This doesn’t actually exist as an option whatsoever, you stills have to manually done this for every single call.

What a scam! DO NOT GET.. This app is not worth 79.99!! I used it for a day and promptly tried to cancel my free subscription when the recordings did not show up. What a surprise.. My cancellation of course was not processed and then they charged me a whopping $79.99 to which I can’t get that money back!! All for an app I’ve already deleted and can find multiple other apps that do the very same or more for less money! This is a total scam and money grab.

Secret Charges. I paid for a year subscription, yet when I received my phone bill I have an extra $70 long distance charge. I’m guessing that when I record my calls, it uses a long distance number and charges my account, even after I paid for the subscription. Currently looking for a new app.

Works well!. Having a local dial-up number is great. The tutorial makes getting up and running a breeze. The app is easy to use, but the audio quality is disappointing, like the dial-in line is old-school analog. I wouldn’t pay a subscription for this unless I needed it constantly for business. A pay-per-use option would be nice.

Had this App for 4 years. I’ve had this app for 4 years. It’s great, BUT it doesn’t work so good when people call you. There is a huge lag time between the call merging and people not noticing that you’re “breaking up”. Definitely time to update this so there is no lag and so it’s easier for users to merge calls on incoming calls. Also GO BACK to the transcript way of before!!! People need these records for court!!!!

Once was good. I used to use this once upon a time to record my interviews with people for school projects, back when this app wouldn’t try to get you to pay premium. I got a call from one of those scam calls and wanted to record it, so I quickly reinstalled the app and by the time I opened it it trapped me in TWO premium screens. I would tap the X on one, and it would just send me to another one. I would tap away from that one, and it would just send me back to the old screen. It’s a shame. It used to be an easy app to use, now it seems to only care for money and won’t allow you access unless you get the “trial” :/

Love this app but…. I really love this app but I have lately had trouble recently (2 months) with the transcription part. I like to go over our weekly conference calls and cut and paste from the written transcript. Unfortunately, for the past several weeks I have gotten an error message when attempting download. Can someone help me, this is a pretty important function that I need to work. Thanks

Date Stamp?. If you send these files through email or google drive there is no date and time stamp associated. There is also no verification of the phone number the conversation is with. It would be hard to lay foundation for any of these recording in court. Hopefully they can fix that soon. Another app I used labeled each recording with the date and phone number. Other than that this app is great for Apple users. Droid users have much better call recording options.

Paid for one year but kept charging my account $3.99 per month as well. I wasn’t aware that on top of the one year subscription you also charge $3.99 per month as well. As soon as I saw all these $3.99 per month I cancelled right away because Your app gave me the impression that I am only paying one time yearly fee and not both the yearly fee and monthly fee. Please make things clear for the buyer so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I did not purchase a monthly subscription because I already paid for the entire year but you still charged me account a monthly fee as well as a yearly fee, not cool, not cool at all!

Awesome app!. I’m going through a tough time with my house, my pipes burst and my home flooded and almost destroyed everything I own and it’s a lot to keep up with so having this record my conversation I can always go back and remember who what when or where. Also it’s very discreet just in case you need information if there’s a bad call, you’re being harassed you have proof. Great download if you’re a busy person or have a lot going on in your life.

This app used to work. Now it doesn’t.. This app stopped working completely and I haven’t heard a word from customer service despite repeated attempts to contact them. I’m a journalist and used this app for years to record phone interviews. Starting two months ago, every time I tried to record a call, the app would hang up on the other line. I hadn’t changed anything about my phone plan, so I tried re-downloading the app. Nothing worked. I emailed customer service multiple times. Still nothing. I asked for my money back. Again, silence. I wondered if maybe the company went out of business, but I couldn’t find any sign that it had. Is anyone else having this issue?

I’m getting charged for something that I can’t use.. I’ve been using tape a call pro and the app was working great until just recently when I kept on getting error messages every time I tried to use it, so I uninstalled the App so I can then reinstall it hoping that would solve the issue, only to find out that I can no longer find tape a call pro anywhere in the App Store which is why I am writing a review here. And yet despite not being able to find the app anywhere in the store, my subscription fee for the app is still active.

Be honest about fees please upfront. Was really hoping this was a good solution to keeping track of some calls, but when a call came to use it for, It asked for a phone number and email BEFORE showing there was a free trial that would turn into $60 a year or $10/mo! I don't mind paying reasonable Amt for a good service but for how infrequently I would need to use it, that's too high and I'd Rate app higher if the company would just state right up front what the fees are before taking phone number and e-mail information.

Scam. Scam. They charged me for subscription , I bought a year long subscription. I was automatically logged out of account, am not able to “restore” my account like they recommend if you have an issue. I paid 63$ and some change to not be able to access or use the app and I have no access to the recoding I made. They denied me access after the time is up for the Apple store to refund the charge. So I paid almost 64$ for nothing. Buyer beware! Scam app. The app also does not work like expected and when making a call that you want to record, the caller id on the receiving end is “unknown” caller and not your phone number.

Terrible support. I had used this app successfully and it worked quite well, but when my subscription lapsed unbeknownst to me, I found I had lost all my recordings upon re-subscribing days later. I tried to contact someone (there is no phone support) and left two requests for someone to offer assistance via their generic computer generated online troubleshooting. I was informed someone would contact me ‘hopefully’ in 24 hours. Still waiting... unfortunately I need those recordings for court so this has basically been a useless service for the purposes I got it for.

The absolute worst! 1 star too many.. Could not be worse. Literally. First off I recorded two 1/2 hour interviews for an article that was due 2 days later. It pretended to record. I paid for transcription and the app appeared to be transcribing—took about half hour for first interview. When I tried to open it wouldn’t open and audio was lost and replaced with static. Tried at length to engage chat. Same message over and over. Went to email twice and received boilerplate responses. Finally told them what they could do with their app. Horrible product, backed by horrendous customer service. STAY AWAY like it has full blown Covid!!

B.S... probably a scam.. So in the App Store this app comes up under “record calls for FREE” also, when you see this app is does not say “in app purchases”.. now let me tell you the EXACT reason why I’m upset. Once you download the app, the app opens up to a black screen with a big red record button in the middle. You click the button and then THE APP ASKS FOR YOUR PHONE NUMBER. So you enter your number and then you get a text with the verification. Enter the verification and theeeeeeennn it’s says “MEMBERSHIP”...!!! The issue is NOT the membership because I always have the option to simply not use the app. The issue is that I would have rather not entered my number IF I would’ve known there was a membership. Smh...

Unreliable. Keep looking.. Don’t get this app especially if you want to use for professional purposes - search for another that will actually work. This is the only review I’ve ever bothered to write - but I wanted to do so because this app has not worked once for me and has cost me some valuable information. I was counting on the Pro version to at least do what the app’s title is: “tape a call”. The fact that the developer takes money for something defective (eg for Verizon customers) is frankly unethical. A cheat, a thief in other words. This isn’t 2008 and early days of apps and smartphones. I don’t mean to sound so prickly but what a waste. If the company reads this, please offer to refund my purchase and write that in the comments below.

Not working after download.. Sorry, but this didn’t work for me. Using an iPhone 6s with updated iOS. A nag screen appears on first run after install offering 2 subscriptions to pro which I can’t escape. So there is no way to run the light version without billing info? This is ok if this is the case, but the language is confusing and deceptive. Was willing to try the pro, but now I’m having second thoughts. When I submit billing info for a pro 1 week demo it freezes and doesn’t save. I close and restart and the process repeats. I might try the pro version. Phone has plenty of memory and no other issues and a good signal. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow. I’ll be sure to rate accordingly, with due respect.

I feel as if I’ve been swindled. This app promoted itself as a free app. It was not disclosed that there would be a charge for this app after a period of time. It was only after getting the app that I found out that I have just purchased an ongoing subscription. It’s not easily cancelled through the App Store because, according to an Apple associate, even though I procured the app on the App Store, I nonetheless obtained it straight from the developer and not from Apple. Therefore I have to go to the developer in order to cancel this subscription. I feel as if I was originally deceived by the developer into believing I was getting a free app and as if I now have to play games to get it cancelled.

Worked for 4 months and now it doesn’t work anymore. I paid for the pro version and it never gave me any problems for 4 months straight until the past couple of weeks. I tried to record a call and it came out blank with no sound at all. I reached out to customer service for some answers and he suggested I change the number on display to another one and now I it doesn’t record at all. So now the problem is worse than it was initially. I don’t know what to do at this point. Customer service made the situation worse.

Lite does not work. I attempted to try out this app but I️ can’t get past the paywall. It seems as though the lite version which only allows two minutes of accessibility to your calls, you must also subscribe to the lite version for 3.99 a month with a seven day free trial? Too much work and personal info given for me just to try it out. What happens to the calls on their server, are they retained and listened to? If a company cannot be honest at the beginning about their payment setup then I️ can’t really trust their judgement with my private calls

“Not available try again later” and “beeping”. Just vought to use for a very important teleconference meeting. Go to dial into the only US number listed (other countries have multiple numbers) and get “unavailable- try again later.” Also- using support “chat” bot wanted to send a email and could not resolve the issue. But it also informed us if it was working, there is a beep every two mites or so when recording g for all to hear. Just what we don’t want- senior leadership on conference call getting beeped every two minutes trying to deliver a message we want recorded for the company archive. Garbage- save your $11. Refund requested and will dispute the credit card if necessary.

Voice recording. I did voice recording for 18:58min but unfortunately give me only 1:33min. Recording show I have 18:58min recorded but doesn’t let me listen all of it. I contacted Comp via email I got response once a day but nothing about voice recording and how to fix it. So for response I was waiting 24h. I do understand that you busy but also I need to know how to got my important recording. App should have some navigation how to restore my voice recording and fastest help will be also appreciated thx

Not happy. I wanted to give this zero stars. I bought this app so I could use it to record sessions for my clients. I had a recording last for 31 minutes. There was an error or something and I can only access 21 minutes of the recording. I contacted the tech support and they couldn’t retrieve it. They just apologized for the inconvenience. So of you only want to record 20 minutes of a phone call then this app is for you. For me, I just wasted my money and time trying to get my voice recording, so I won’t be recommending this to anyone in the future.

TapeACall is everything I needed. I’ve been using TapeACall for about four years. I am a channel my partner and I channel books together. I’ve channeled three books using TapeACall my writing partner is in Hawaii, and I am in Massachusetts. When my writing partner moved to Hawaii we didn’t know how to get together to continue to channel, so we did it through TapeACall. Its amazing and wonderful and perfectly clear, and I love it and it has transcription too. It solved real geographic problem for us. Thank you MaryEllen

Best ever app for this type For keeping audio record. The ease of this app is wonderful and we are very appreciative to be able to have the ability to record certain conversations that need to be kept as a record, thank you again guys. Keep up the good work look forward to using this app quite a bit This type of thing should be built-in to every phone computer computer for that matter.

VERY EASY TO USE. I am really taken back with how easy it is to use and the quality of the sound. Of course, I upgraded to Pro for $3.99 a month although I think that was a little steep. But when you need a call taped this is the app to use! Another app I was looking at stated that the internet had to be up to use! No other apps made that demand. At this point I am not sure this would work w/the internet down and/or they just forgot(?) to mention it. All of n All...Great App.

Amazing App. Such an easy to use, yet powerful app. In the industry I am involved with we do many weekly training calls. And no matter how many notes you take, there’s always something that “slips through the cracks”. But with this amazing and easy to use app, nothing gets by! Plus the calls can be used to help new and aspiring people hear world class information! You guys have done a phenomenal job!

Don’t download or this app will force you to let them steal your money. ☹️. This app is false advertising because it said it was free until you get it. It will offer you to subscribe which charges you $10 a month. If you click the X, you go to another page saying the same thing. If you press back, then it will go to the previous page. From reading other reviews, it will say there will be a free trial for a week. But it will just charge you for money no matter what. The app barely even works. This all sums up to the fact that the “Free App” is just a stupid buggy mess which take your money. So don’t buy the app.

Great service. The app provides clear, user-friendly recording options for phone conversations with terrific playback functions and storage. I have used the app in the past and just reactivated my account. The price is reasonable and the service and its use is terrific. I would recommend if recording phone conversations is something that would be useful to you in your work or personal life.

Does Not Work As Claimed. I have been experiencing several problems in the use of the app. 1. Recordings are not showing in the call list due to a JSON decode issue. 2. I can not dial out with the app as error is returned that I am not using a proper number even though I was. Their support department is basically non-existence and received no response from the company. I need to delete the app and start looking for something that actually works. Days later, I did receive a message from the developer but the solutions were not relevant. I tried emailing them back but the email bounced back to me as undelivered.

If you tape your jail bae read this!!!. I recently downloaded this app to record my boyfriend who is incarcerated. While the recording process works, I’ve found that the app glitches sometimes and doesn’t allow touchpad access on the taped call. There have been various frustrating experiences where calls went to waste because I could not press a number to accept them. Please revise these glitches as every other feature on this app is worth the yearly subscription. !!! I’m currently too afraid to use the app because I don’t want to waste an entire days communication!!

I’m being charged THREE TIMES!!!!. Despite having paid for a year of the app, I was charged a second time for a full year, and am now being billed monthly. When I click on the icon to contact the app developer, it takes me to a “Page Not Found” site. I have canceled all the subscriptions, but I want to be credited for the charges that never should have occurred since I was already subscribed and paid. Could someone please contact me???? Or update your contact links please? Also- recordings only work on INCOMING calls. I have not had a single outgoing call successfully record, it’s just dead air.

Would give 5 stars for easier incoming calls. I use this app regularly for work and it works 100% as advertised. Unfortunately, merging calls doesn’t happen as quickly as it could. My only issue is regarding incoming calls. I live in a one-party state and there are times I do not want the caller knowing they’re being recorded - but having to immediately put them on hold long enough to place an outgoing call, wait for the beep, and then merge the call is extremely inconvenient and conspicuous.

Great app. I had tried another app that only recorded when I called someone. This one was so much easier and would record either way- if someone else called. There is a beep that lets you know recording has begun - if the person is already on the line. I was doing interviews for an article. I was so pleased when an unexpected translation popped up! Amazing app!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. I downloaded this app to try it out. It offered me a 7-day free trial to try it. Within 20 seconds of me agreeing to the trial, it took the month’s subscription cost off my card. It should NOT have done that until after the 7 days were up. I immediately deleted the app, without even trying it, & requested a refund. Apple says it could take anywhere from 24-48 hours to even approve or deny my request, & then could take up to 30 days to receive my money back from this “purchase”.. when it took 20 seconds to come off my card. Bologna.

I like this app but why monthly?. I don’t like the monthly pay and some of the others probably don’t either I think it’s best if it’s just a full pay and that’s it like a slap but you gotta pay monthly which is horrible. Maybe it’s just for the ones who want to spend extra money.. it would be so much better if we didn’t have to do monthly pay!!!! If it has changed to where I didn’t have to I’d rate it 5 but until then, I hope they update it to where it’s not monthly pay unless your other app is just a full time pay only I just know you have to do monthly pay on this one..

BoPeace. Used it for the first time today. I got it to work right away. The instructions are in your face as soon as you activate the app. I need that type of memory jog🤓. What I did not like was that the lite version only gives you 60 seconds of recording time to play back. Then it prompts you to buy the pro version for $9.99. Once I paid it restored the full recordings. Then it prompts you for a review with a comment. So there. I hope you guys are happy now😄!

Previous Month’s Recordings Deleted. This is a review but also a request for support! I installed this app in December and had all of my important phone calls listed. I noticed that now, in January, December’s recordings are gone and I only have listed recorded calls from this month. I checked the FAQ for the amount of calls I can make and I noticed they are unlimited. It’s pretty upsetting that I lost all types of details and evidence from phone calls I recently made, but I can’t seem to find them on the app, so I just wanted to report this, not expecting to get them back, but if there’s any help which can be provided, that would help. Thanks.

Chinese mobile phone number cannot be used.. My phone number is from mainland China, and there is a Chinese option, but after I clicked and entered the phone number, it has been stuck on the interface. Five points is to be able to see! I hope developers can continue to support phone numbers from more countries.

When in need.. When you need someone/something to remember what a person agreed to, this app is indispensable. There’s allot of shady people in this world and if your an honest person like me who believes people’s word and gets the “oh I don’t remember that” response when bills are sent out this app is for you. I use it as a business tool and it has saved me 10s of thousand of dollars. Well worth the subscription. Kudos to the developers.

Tape a call “Can’t find subscription”. I’ve paid for this service for months. Now that I need to restore it, it says that it can’t find my subscription. I have been using this for a serious legal matter that needs to be handled and now I can’t even access the recordings I’ve paid for. I need customer service to help me find my subscription so I can bring my recordings to court. I’m absolutely devastated that I haven’t been able to access my recordings. It’s now day two after contacting customer service and no one has reached to me in regards to my issue. There should be another way to contact customer service.

WASTE OF MONEY!!!. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS APP!!! I just tried to use this app to record interaction with my physicians office… The call would not go through on the line they make available… I guess the number was marked as “unknown“.Or was filtered out as a identified SPAM number… The call would not go through to the physicians office… And rather looped through to the assigned TAPE A CALL number , which rang continuously with no answer from the TapeACall provider… A waste of money unless you want to have a record of interaction between yourself and your friends… Or someone that you can alert to not filter or block as SPAM when tape a call tries to initially make the connection… I have tried to contact customer service with this app and it connects you to a “page not found error message” I tried to post a “review” and now the app screen is frozen and nonfunctional !!! Won’t even “close” the page… this review may not post either!!! DO MOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Great app if you need to attend more than one mtg, at the same time!. I’ve been very happy with the quality of recording and be able to attend two different meetings at the same time. I usually will attend the one I know will require my participation and dial in for the other meeting with “Tap a Call”. Later, I will listen to the meeting that my mind was somewhere else 😂 when it took place...

Tape a call and RoboKiller have been so useful as a sole proprietor. I use tape a call to record messages I leave on my business partner’s voicemails and I only record conference calls with permission so as long as you can record live conversation this app is a must for every iPone user who uses their iPhone for business purposes and I would highly recommend especially when it comes to managing a multi billion dollar enterprise.

I can’t reach the developer. I was paying yearly, but before my yearly renewal I downgraded to monthly. I was charged and Apple confirmed my payment, but this app keeps saying paying failed so I haven’t been able to use it since. I have a lot of recordings that I don’t have access to and Apple directed me to go to App Support on Tape A Call, I told them when I click on that, it says page not found, the Apple representative was able to see this as well using screen share. Please fix this!!! Overall the recordings are good with a small few that had issues with recording or static.

Proficient!. This app is one of the most useful apps and most proficient apps I have on my phone period. This app works every time and there’s only been one instance so I started using it in August ‘21 and it didn’t have sound in the recording but I believe that was due to my Bluetooth. It has recorded nearly hour phone conversations it records while I’m using Bluetooth it is awesome!

Unreliable Interface. I followed developers instructions to the letter, but sometimes it worked most times not. I liked the simple interface, but the process is confusing, first call a number that is a voicemail, then call the party you want to tape, then merge the call to the voicemail. On my iPhone 8 it only worked 20% of the time, usually the merge icon didn’t appear. Needs the bugs worked out of it. At $11 a pop it is way overpriced for the wonky and sporadic performance. I really wanted to like the app, but I just got a refund a couple frustrating weeks.

Hope the developers read this.... I love TapeACall when it works and hate it when it doesn’t work which is most of the time. Usually I’ve gotta call people 2-3 times before the app stops disconnecting the call. I’ve had to make up excuses for my phone dropping the call because of this app. I’ve talked to other people and they’ve had similar problems even with the paid versions that we use. However, when it works, it’s great and easy to share recorded calls. 3 stars for it still being a good app with major frustrations.

New Auto Call Recording Doesn’t Work. I’ve been using the app almost a year, without issue and all of the sudden it wouldn’t let me call out. I looked in the settings and it had automatically put on this new feature “Auto Call Recording”. This would not allow me to use my contacts or call out typing in the number. When I turned it off, it still works.

Great app! It works!. I’ve used this app successfully to prove my innocence. This is easy to use once you get the hang of it and listening to playbacks is just as easy. The conversations are clear and this app truly does what it says. Just remember that there’s different recording laws in every jurisdiction. Use this app wisely. It works for me and it’s worth the money. Even if you only need it for that “one time”, it’s worth it.

Poor app don’t waste your time or money. I purchased this app and it worked for a little bit then 20 months ago I switch my carrier to VZW and the app no longer worked. I reached out to the number provided nobody answers or attempted to reach out to me. I accidentally downloaded the app twice still not working. They left a general message stating the app didn’t work with VZW but then they’re not refunding either.... I’m so disappointed with this developer and really wished he could have taken our feedbacks and actually follow up but I’m still waiting. Very disappointed and annoyed with this app. Seriously, don’t waste your time or money invest somewhere else. A developer that actually cares about his product.

JUST CRASHED YESTERDAY. Is the server down or something? I use this app almost daily with zero issues for a while now. I ended a call yesterday & when I went to retrieve it, I kept getting “request timed out” error. I kept trying then finally uninstalled and reinstalled & now it won’t even take me past the “continue” button to log in as it’s giving me the same “request timed out” error & these are recordings I seriously need to access. There’s no phone # or live agent on chat either so I have to wait to hopefully get an email response. This is ridiculous & so stressful.
