Chronicle - Bill Organizer App Description & Overview

What is chronicle - bill organizer app? The easiest, fastest bill manager in the App Store. A universal app for iPhone & iPad, with multitasking on iPad. Cloud sync works across all iOS devices plus Mac with the available Mac version.

If you pay bills, you need Chronicle.

Here's why: A single late payment can cost you $30 or more and cause your credit score to plummet by up to 100 points.

Chronicle reminds you to pay your bills, so you can just enter them, and forget about them.

Plus, Chronicle syncs with the available Mac version, so you can view and pay your bills everywhere.

In addition to reminding you to pay your bills, Chronicle keeps track of all your payment history, including confirmation numbers, so you always have proof of payments.

New to Chronicle is the Pro version. Available as an in-app purchase, Chronicle Pro gives you access to all new features of Chronicle as they are updated.

Currently available features in Chronicle Pro:

Forecast View: See the future—see what will be due every month for a year in advance.

Amount to Save: Stop bills from sneaking up on you. Many bills don’t repeat every month: for these bills, Chronicle will calculate how much you need to set aside each month so that you have enough to pay it when it comes due. For example, you may have an auto insurance bill of $500 that is due every 6 months. Chronicle will calculate that you need to set aside $83.33 each month in order to have enough to pay the bill each time it is due.

Intelligent Estimated Amount Due: Helps you know how much will be due for bills that vary. Using the type of bill, your payment history, and the time of year, Chronicle will intelligently calculate an estimate of how much is due. For example, Chronicle will be able to learn if your electric bills are higher or lower in the winter, and estimate accordingly.

Chronicle Cloud: Backup your bills to the cloud, sync across all your iOS devices, and share with a partner, spouse or business associate.

Chronicle Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours prior end of the subscription. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. You may cancel or disable your subscription by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase.

Chronicle Pro is subject to the terms of use shown here: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Must-have App. If you want a fantastic bill-tracking app, this is the one. I have been using it for years and never had a problem. It is highly recommended.

Love it!. Just what I have been looking for! I have a question though, I was under the impression that I could pay bills from the app, like send me to the billers website. Is this not true or is a feature coming out at a later time?

Nice bill reminder app.. I’ve been using this app for several years. I’m an old stubborn guy that still has his bills come in the mail. Hey, I’m old. I do pay them online but like the paper bills as a reminder. Sometimes my email bill notices go into my junk folder. So I like using the good old USPS as a backup. However, every now and then, even the USPS loses a bill or it’s delivered late. Such was the situation last month when they tried to forward my car payment. While the payment notice went again in my spam folder. The letter was finally delivered 10 days after the payment was due with a yellow sticker stating “unable to forward, return for carrier review”. You would think they would pull the sticker off. Anyway. I use this app to insure I am aware of when all my bills are due. It Works perfectly.

Need history sort by date. Great app. It needs to be able to sort by payment date when viewing all paid bills in history. Viewing alphabetically doesn’t help me.

Lack of different currency support is a deal breaker. I use this app on both macOS and iOS and they have different localization settings. The big problem with this app is that it just grabs the currency of the current system and you cannot change it in the app settings. You have to change your whole localization settings in your system to use a different currency. And it’s not like the app attempts to convert the other currency to the current one, it just changes the displayed symbol. If the app ever lets you choose a different currency for each thing you pay, I’ll bump this review to 5 stars.

Dates Changing. Love the app. My only gripe would be that it seems like lately, “repeat interval: every month” dates change. For example my auto insurance, I set the date for the 4th of every month. Right now when I checked it, it showed that it was due on the 30th of this month. Not sure why this has been happening lately.

Love this app! It is perfect for brains like mine!. Update as of 2021: Notifications for any bills created before this year seem to no longer provide notifications? Here is the thing...I am impatient with bells and whistles. I like things to look nice, but when something starts getting multiple moving parts that are necessary in order to have the basic function that I need, I get annoyed. I tried so many financial apps before Chronicle. All I wanted was to enter the date bills are due, be reminded when they are, and keep a logical historical record of when they were paid and how much was paid. Mint, Quickbooks, Microsoft Money, etc., etc. all are just too much for my purposes. And, having to connect my bank account to an app, especially to some of the apps whose developers I have never heard of, is NOT ok. That is never going to happen. So, Chronicle is easy to look at, simple enough to navigate, backs itself up like apps should (many do not), and keeps me on schedule for monitoring both my and my elderly mom's bills. I can even look at just her bills or my bills thanks to tags. This app is perfect. If features are added in the future, maybe those would be a great addition, but for now, I am a totally satisfied customer. The customer service has been top-notch every time I had a question as well. How many apps can boast about those last two items with their customers?

Best bill reminder ever!!. Look no more my friends you need this app, extremely user friendly and the widget of “next bill due” is excellent- look no more this is the best there is!! Teri Brew City WI

Superb Tech & Customer Support. I have been using Chronicle for several years and I live by it. It makes tracking both business and personal bills extremely easy. In the years I have been using it, I have never missed a bill or due date. I recently accidentally deleted my Chronicle data…totally my fault. I emailed tech support and within an hour Mike was helping me. I was able to quickly recover my Chronicle data based on Mike’s detailed instructions. Mike followed up and made sure everything was working correctly and even offered to speak by phone if I required additional support. I cannot say enough good things about Chronicle and the high level of customer service I have received!

Budget Master Approved. I pride myself on being quite efficient with my budget and the way I log & maintain. I’ve been searching for the perfect UI for over 2 years, be it via an app or a planner download, that closely resembles the way I budget and keep up with my bills… and I finally found it! Well, my husband technically found it, but I absolutely LOVE it! It’s intuitive and well-designed, and WELL WORTH the $12 peace of mind I get knowing I can always access my budget whenever I need, rather than it always being in a different, inconvenient location. My husband and I share the log in so we can both keep up with the bills we take care of whilst logging our personal incomes. It’s simply genius!

Simplicity is Best. Chronicle checks all the boxes. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to specify which checking account paid the bill. Other than that, this is the only bill reminder app that I have found that actually keeps a historical record of when and how much was paid and if a partial payment is made, it subtracts it from the current due amount with the option to not advance the date to the next month. Perfect.

Perfect!. Just what I needed and was looking for! Absolutely amazing app! Truly recommend for those wanting to have an overview of bills etc and to track it.

Perfect for people with ADHD.. Love love love this app. I can visually see which bills are due on a calendar and which ones are coming up. It makes it so much easier to manage money! I paid $12 for the pro and now my husband can also see what’s coming due and what needs to be paid. It makes it so much easier for us to communicate (since we are both visual people) about what bills are coming out and how much money we expect to have left over. I love this app so much lol

Excellent.. Bought this app because I used to pay all bills by memory and access each site individually. This app is very easy to load your direct URLs to pay your bills QUICK! It also shows you how much your monthly estimated bills will be. Very simple and user friendly which is great. This app doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary features. It’s simple and it works which is why it’s nice.

Missing One Thing. I have been using BillTracker for years and recently switched to Chronicle. I love the overall app however the one thing BillTracker had that Chronicle doesn’t is the # Notifications on the App Icon indicating the number of bills that are approaching being due. Personally this helps me better keep track of bills that are due soon rather then having to open the app EVERYDAY to see what is due!

Just Simple to Use - Great!. I have used multiple payment and reminder apps, but there were always features missing that made it difficult to stay abreast of my bills. Most of the times the app would not sync with my bank account making me do double duty by checking each bill for currency. I decided to no longer use bill pay apps and look for the best bill management app available. I found one with Chronicle! Here are a few helpful features I love: 1. Persistent and timely reminders 2. Easy to use with multiple settings for my needs 3. I can see my forecast for the next month 4. The monthly overview helps me view and stay on top of upcoming bills in one place. 5. Syncs with my calendar for additional reminders 6. Payment history with inserted ID 7. Easy to make changes and updates 8. Automatic payments can be set to login payments without me having to do it manually. 9. Insert biller url in the app. A quick click takes me directly to biller website to make a payment. Thank you for this app. I very enthusiastically recommend it for those who want to stay on top of their bills and budget.

Almost Perfect. It would be nice if the app would show a little number on it when a bill is almost due. Just like an email app shows when I have unopened emails. It does this only when I open the app. If a bill is almost due… when I close it a little number pops up. It should do this without me having to open it. Otherwise this is great to use. And at this point I only use the free version.

Notifications are random, and bills can’t be deleted. I have notifications set up properly for all my bills. And yet, they appear randomly on my phone seemingly when the app feels like it, not with the regularity of a scheduled notification. Nor does the app badge appear properly, but only sometimes. When? Who knows! Also, bills can’t be deleted. There’s a huge “Delete Bill” button on the bill edit screen. What does it do? Makes it go away from your list of bills only to return the very next time you open the app. Haha! Fooled you! You though delete meant delete? Nope! Chronicle believes in an alternate definition of delete it seems This app is worse than useless. It has caused me to miss bill due dates because I actually relied on it, and it has failed so miserably.

Can’t see future bills. for example I have a bill that repeats weekly, and it only shows once per month, so the total amount due for the month is incorrect. If that was fixed, would be 5 stars.

Very happy .. read this review. This is a great app for bill reminders . I down loaded 3 of them . I entered all my bills and decided to see what one seemed to work the best . This one stood out for me . I use to use Prism but they are shutting down . If your looking for a bill reminder and or you came from prism . This is the best one !! Hope this helps .

Simple Bill Tracking. Honestly just writing this review because I genuinely love using this app. Ever since I downloaded it, I haven’t forgotten to pay a single bill, most likely due to the reminders and the manual logging. This just makes so much sense to me and has caused me to never have a bill sneak up on me because I forgot. Great app and I highly recommend this if you are a human and you have bills! 😂

Best Bill Tracking & Reminder App PERIOD. I’ve used this app for years. If there has ever been an issue, such as after an update, I’ve NEVER noticed or been affected by it. They seem to fix any problem or issue immediately. The negative reviews honestly have no merit. I’ve read through some of them and think these users must be completely computer illiterate. This app perfectly reminds and tracks every bill I have to pay and I have a lot of bills working in a home office. I will say with all honesty, this is in the top 10 apps that I must have and would never stop using. I use it almost daily and can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve seriously tried at least 25 other bill pay apps and Chronicle is still the best for me. It’s free on iPhones and iPads but I’d pay if I had to.

Best Bill Organizer Ever!. I’ve had Chronicle since at least 2011 and it has helped me organize, pay, and keep track of payments and confirmation codes. It is extremely easy to use and keeps track of upcoming bills and payments made. Customer service is excellent; any time I have had questions, I receive a response quickly. I highly recommend Chronicle!

Tig. I have had Chronicle on my iPad for some years & all very good! However, I recently loaded Chronicle on my iPhone. How do I get the iPhone with Chtonicle app to reflect what it shows on my iPad? Many thanks,

Responsive developer. Hi everyone, I’ve used this app for a couple years now.I just wanted to leave a comment here that the developer is very responsive if you have any technical issues. One recommendation - please provide a way for us to export our bills into Google sheets or Microsoft Excel— thanks!

BEST BILL APPLICATION ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This application is great and very user friendly! I’ve tried to use over 20 other applications and they ask for too much personal information. This application is very straightforward and has very good graphics. It also easy to read and follow. The reminders are colorful and bright. Very good 😊!

Great app. I’ve been using this app since it was released. Very helpful to track bills. The developer updates on a regular basis, snd provides great support when questions or issues arise. Highly recommend!

Premium not premium. I really liked this app when I first got it, so much so that I sprang for the cloud sync features on premium. Now I’m bummed because I realized all premium allows me to do is sign on to multiple devices. I cannot download my data or make any reports based on my trends. I can’t review or edit historical data and I can’t combine my historical income with my historical expenses. Super bummed

Great Way to Track of Bills/Payments. I’ve been using this for years and it’s super helpful at keeping track of all your bills and payments in one app! (Review updated after awesome assistance from the developer.)

GREAT UPDATE!. EDIT: Nope. The iCloud sync stopped working right after the paid “optional” subscription came out. No thanks. I was waiting for Apple Watch support and also the Touch ID support for quite some time. Apple Watch app could be native for faster updating and access which is a slight negative but some progress is better than no progress. My biggest want for the longest time for the iOS version was getting the Touch ID entry support. This was literally the last app I had that didn’t see that update, it took an entire year to get it, but its here and I love it. Syncing is clunky at times, however it’s better than nothing. I’ve switched between Dropbox and iCloud frequently because eventually one stops working and there’s really not a notification this has stopped working unless you see that bills you have paid have gone “unpaid” on another version even after restarting the app or hitting the sync button and nothing happens. Stocking with them though as this app keeps me on top of my bill pay game an works well with my workflow of making sure I don’t fall behind with a payment. Makes that grueling task a little more bearable.

Needs Updated Icons. I’ll give this App 4 Stars simply because of the lack of attention regarding the design. I’m a Web Designer and Developer, and the UI/UX of this app is great. However, the icons look very cheesy - like they came out of a children’s coloring book. To fix this and swap them out for new icons (That look similar to high quality iOS emojis) would be a 1-2 day project for the Developers. The fact that they haven’t done this in 2023, much less 2015, kinda blows my mind. Especially since it’s a paid app. I do find this app more useful than any of the major Budgeting Apps out there. I’ve tried them all (YNAB, Every Dollar, Rocket Money, Copilot, Mint, etc) and didn’t realize this is what I was looking for, until I found it. For that reason, this app deserves 4 Stars. If they update the icons, I will gladly change my rating to 5 Stars.

Great until recently. Loved this app and have used it for years. Recently, the dates keep changing each month. For example, if the bill is due on the 10th and I pay it, the next month it’s due on the ninth. Every month I have to keep editing the dates to get them back on their actual due dates. Extremely frustrating.

Crashing again. For some reason my review didn’t take? It’s freezing up on me again and I submitted some thing on Apple support 5 days ago on your app on the Apple page and Apple gave me some message that sounded like it was not their issue and so I wrote a review here as well and I don’t see anywhere to contact you besides leaving a crappy review, but I’ve had this for a couple years and I am ready to cancel my renewal of the pro version because there doesn’t seem to be any support available fix to this.

Like the app. Bug when viewing history. Have used the app for years. Fits my needs and more. Just one thing…I was viewing payment history of one bill and then tapped another bill while in payment history and the app just closes on me. Guess I have to hit the back arrow before I can view payment history on another bill. Otherwise, have been very happy with this app.

BEST BILL REMINDER APP. When I started using this app, I was so surprised how easy and friendly the navigation is to pay a BILL. The developer has made a very convenient and easy app to remind you to pay your bills. I tried a number. And this is the BEST. They are always adding new features .. have never had a problem, and that’s so important when you are investing in a financial app.. so happy with the features and reliability. Want the best App .. It’s right here ! ! Give it a try.. You ‘ll see!!!

Quick response and resolution. I found the subscription price to be very reasonable. Have a surprise in my documents and asked if there was a resolution and with in a day I got a response. I fulfilled the request and the next day I got a resolution and explanation of how it may have affected the notifications. The problem was resolved with a few quick steps. I have used a few others bill reminders but stopped using them because they had no tech support or extremely complicated steps to use. So far I have not found anything to make me sorry for the need of a subscription. It is definitely worth it.

Nope to subscription!. User response to Dev: you say unobtrusive? The whole bottom bar on the app has four icons that are “PRO” use only. Bought the app and now it’s a yearly subscription. I’m sure the dev will say, “but everything you paid for your receiving”. Yes, that’s true, but every time I click on something in the app I’m reminded of the “PRO” subscription! No thank you, I found another app that’s excellent and moving on.

Love this app, long wanted more icons for bills. Functionality and features of this app are great. It would be a very nice addition if we could get many more icons to associate with our bills. I would really, really love if we were even able to search a vast database or create our very own icons to attach to our bills to recognize them more quickly at a glance.

Update: Greatest bill organizer with one of the best support staff. I love this app! I was able to organize my bills and receive updates on all my Apple products. What’s even better, I had an issue and they answered my questions quickly.

Best bill organizer ever!. I am 70 years old and this app has me completely organized. It was unbelievably easy to set up. I got the pro version; which was worth a lot more than $12! I am incredibly pleased!

Great app. The app is great and gets the job of bill management done better than lots of more complicated apps out there. Feature requests : -treat icons/categories like tags, even if it’s a separate list -allow multiple tags and/or categories to be shown at once in the list -use plaid to connect with banks so variable credit card due dates and payment amounts can be automatically imported (a tough one) That last feature is something people are really looking for with the Mint and Prism apps retiring.

It’s fine. I like it but the only negatives I have are that it gives a notification on the app without clear alerts in the app. Ill open the app and nothing is visible, there isn’t a flag or something that shows this is why it’s alerting me. I also don’t like that you have to add extra details after you hit log payment, just an unnecessary click for me. I’ll keep using it but it could be better.

An essential app. Have used chronicle for many years. The new Chronicle Cloud is a huge advantage to avoid issues sharing info between different iCloud accounts and being able to sync much faster and accurately. The calendar integration sends me reminders and I have never missed a bill! One of my favorite things is the amazing support provided by the developer. Over the years I have emailed questions and EVERY one has been answered PROMPTLY, accurately and with honesty (a feature not yet available but coming and IT COMES). The explanation to solve any problem (though problems have been rare) is also clear, concise and has always worked. One of my two most essential apps (1Password is the other).

Keeps me organized. A life saver! My life is hectic but this app keeps track of my bills. One less thing to worry about. I highly recommend this app.

Great App, Better with Small Improvements. App is great, it does a lot of what I was doing manually - purchased the subscription and will continue to use it. One feature that would be very helpful would be a landing page on login with a true overview of your current monthly financial status (total income received so far, bills paid so far, income remaining, bills remaining, upcoming trials that are expiring, and maybe a couple other things). This would be helpful to see things at a high-level glance. Still a 5-star app, but really just because there’s nothing out there better than this. The above would be a huge addition (at least for me!)

Used to be great when it worked.. I paid for the app and it worked great. Then there was an issue so I signed off and uninstalled it. When I downloaded it again I realized I didn’t have my password saved. Long story short- if you lose your password you lose the app. Apparently, the reset password part of the app doesn’t work for me and there is nothing that can be done. Oh well, I will get something else.

The icon is ugly. Pretty clean and simple. Maybe this will seem insignificant but, the app icon is ugly. You guys can do a better job with the icon! And also need better bills icons. Those icons to insert into the bills are horrible old ones.

Definitely needed this app. I like how this app has your bills listed out what’s coming and what’s due. I wish it was a little more aggressive with notifications or have different options for notifications aggressiveness. (More often, less often, important) also if it had an option to adjust bills for payment arrangements for a balance certain bills, would make it so much easier to work with. Also if their was a option to log what card you used or want to use. But the app is very good and has helped me log all my bills in one spot and keep track, im just a very customized person and I like things that hit the small details and this app is almost perfect for me. Great interface btw its not hard to understand.

Easy to Use.. I do like this app because it’s very easy to use the only thing I wish I could turn off is when you hit log Payment and it says” well done “I just wish I could turn that automated voice off Other than that, I really like this app

Has issues!. First off the interface looks ok but the execution has a lot to be desired. Some of the logic behind how the app navigates is a bit unusual. On the summary page it shows upcoming bills and paychecks but when auto pay is selected for a bill, it still shows up as overdue. If I select a day in the calendar, logically, it should show everything due just for that day, but doesn’t. Depending where you are on the hierarchy/order of bills, it can be misleading as it still will show bills from other days. It should show me what’s due just for that day, not mix in other bills for other days. I think some of the logic in the app needs to be reworked.

Needs improvements. Not a bad app but only sync with dropbox. Also would be good with windows interface - not everyone uses mac and iphone. Further enhancements could include: adding your own categories (cant do this in iphone) adding your own interval (not all intervals are monthly but work on days) email export function to include CSV file

Great App.. Chronicle is a fantastic app that keeps getting better. I've tried keeping track of my bills with personal finance software but it's all too complicated so I use chronicle along side other personal finace apps. If you want an easy to use bill organsier and remider this one is it. The update to version 10 has made a subscription well worth it.

Works well. This is a great app for keeping on top of your bills. It’s very simple to use and syncs with your desktop app and your partners app so you’re all up-to-date. Nothing fancy or complicated which means it just works.

Bills and budget made simple. Wow this app helps me never miss a bill. Well done to the app developers

Love it. Been using Chronicle for a while now and have to say that is one of the most useful apps on my iPad, iPhone and Mac... Synching up with iCloud. It's basically a bill reminder and tracking up. Simple and effective UI and it seriously has saved me paying late fees. When a new bill comes in, I add it to Chronicle (along with the BPay details) or an existing bill comes in, I just update the amount and due date and that's it. It reminds me of when to pay and keeps a running total of what I've paid per biller. Excellent app!

Chronicle. I find this application very useful in keeping up with bill payments and various other expenses. Would recommend it as very useful for those of us who have to be mindful of where the next dollar is coming from.

Awesome App. I've tried almost every Bill Reminder in the App Store and have found Chronicle to be by far and away the best. I use it all the time and love the way it syncs across all my devices - Mac, iPhone and iPad. Great support also.

Unprofessional Service Bad Experience. I purchased this app outright and one day I decided to use the app and it turns out that I can’t restore my purchases. I contacted the developer and I get a unprofessional response from the developer saying : “ Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Unfortunately you'll have to bring this up with Apple, we have no access to any information about the App Store, or anything like that. Mike LittleFin LLC”, So this is the lame excuse I get in return from such greed brand. I have bought multiple apps over the period of last many years and all those apps/brands honoured their part of the bargain. But this app/dev simply hand balled it to Apple when it’s the Dev who should be fixing the issue as to why my purchases aren’t restored. I give up after 7 years of head banging with him!!

Sync issue. I have the same issue with sync, the app is great if they solve the sync issue. I wasted lot of time putting everything back to where it should be in regards to paid and unpaid and every time I open another device it rolled back!!! So frustrated and waste of time!!!!!

Home finances, tamed. Plus amazing support. I must have looked at a dozen options for simplifying personal bookkeeping for our family. All too complex, or aimed at envelope budgeting or investing, or could not be shared, weren't cloud based, didn't work on mobile devices, etc. Chronicle solves all of these problems, forecasts monthly spend and provides historical reporting. It keeps my wife and I in sync without feeling like double entry accounting. It's simple, fast, accessible and lightweight. And Mike's customer service is simply amazing. Recommended. The only thing I think needs looking at is simplifying the offering - retire the legacy version, get rid of the "pro" desgination which is ambiguous between subscription and legacy app, and offer only one cloud sync.

Good but could be great. Is there any way that bills can mark themselves as paid when automatically paid is ticked? I use this app to track when they’re coming up but I still have to go in and log them as paid. If I forget to do that, it tries to change the due date which I don’t want. So when I untick the “Update date” and then log payment, it doesn’t work. Meaning that my bills are now all showing wrong in the app and I have to go back and change all their dates again. This could be fixed by the above. Makes this app more frustrating than helpful at times.

Annoying 2 step pay process. A slightly painful feature is marking the bills paid. First swipe to log payment and then a very inconvenient placement at the very top right to "press to save" the process. It should be a one tap or one swipe process. Do the 2 step process if you have to edit a bill maybe, but not to pay. I'm sure other users find this process slightly annoying aslo.

Calendar showing incorrect dates on iOS. Just so you know Chronicle is not displaying a 2020 year calendar.

Great app. Very useful app and developers are very responsive.

A Great Update. Have used Chronicle for years, and this update is really worth the subscription.

Fantastic app to keep track of bills. I've used this app for a few years now, on both Mac and iOS, and it is invaluable. It has saved me heaps of $$$ by ensuring I pay my bills on time. Also invaluable when I travel as I can easily see what bills will come up while I'm away and make sure they'll be paid. It also helped me when my financial circumstances recently changed and I was able to use Chronicle to create a decent budget based on my history of bill payments. My only small niggle is that the app doesn't sync automatically when I open it - I have to sync manually. Only a small issue though. Thanks for a great app!

Great. This is a great app easy to use. I would love to see fortnightly added to the list of Repeat Intervals

Bill management across all apple devices. Been using this for several years to record bills due and their payments. It’s better than a spreadsheet you can categorise your bills and sort them by categories, tags, dates etc. With most bill notification via email it is easy to log the amount and date due in advance. Setting up auto payments for direct debits/ payments is also easy. There are several informative reports that can be adjusted on the fly. I don’t use the budgeting aspect but can see how useful it could be. Being able to check if a bill has been paid or is due via iPhone or iPad when away from the laptop is a lifesaver for preventing the late penalties. Support is excellent, responsive and gives detailed information.

Best Budgeting App!. Needs some additional categories like when you buy a coffee or go to lunch with friends. And what about when you go to the pub for a drink? you might drop $50 or $100 on a night out, no use putting it under the shopping category! Other than that it's the best personal budget app by very far. The mac app accompanies it well and syncs everything nicely over iCloud. Great value.

Great piece of mind. This is a fantastic application for seeing upcoming bills and paying them on time such as credit cards or motor vehicle registration, particularly where the reminders might be missed in emails. I find it indispensable and I haven't seen any else like it

The best app for bills. I have been using this app for several years now. Always been happy. The developer himself replies to our messages and keeps improving the app, which always been awesome.

Rubbish. Had the app since 2014 and even it had its little flaws it worked well and I was relying on it to stay on top of my bills. UNTIL their version 8 update which was paid update. The original version stopped working. The Mac app wouldn’t start at all and keeps “trying to run in some black hole”. If I don’t force restart the app the the Mac goes to overheat as the app taking all the resources. When I first contacted support I got responded almost a 2 week after my initial contact to be told to send log of the console and saying to read some article why the version 8 update is paid. So I pad the $14 for the 8v update and guess what? The app still does not work. The iPhone app does not work either. Goes to full white screen then it crashes. I sent the console log to the support over a week ago and again I haven’t heard a word. Waste of money and time.

Crashes. Constantly crashes. Seems to have good functionality, but many bugs.

Nice, but.... Nice app but iCloud sync has me tearing my hair out. I run it on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro and changes made on one device will not propagate across all devices - sometimes changes are rolled back on the device the actual changes were made on. As a stand alone app I’d say great. Sync issue means it only gets 3 stars from me.

Handy app. Good to keep track of bills however I would like to see a more flexible time period option. For instance my gas and electricity is charged every 2 months (60 days) but there only options for 1 month and quarterly. Additionally, there is no option to delete payment logs so I put one in accidentally and had to recreate the whole bill again.

Peter. Great App, have used it for managing all my annual regular living expenses for around 5 years. It especially makes planning for payments due to be paid before venturing on holidays, hospital stays etc.

Great app. Great app, developer responded quickly to issues

good App. its simple , neat , functional , syncs easily across all devices. keeps track of all bills and gives prior warning of whats coming up. one improvement for the future could be adjustability of the alerts but otherwise a top application.

Please add a Touch ID support. Great app suite, excellent for keeping track of your expenses, it's only has a limited feature set and I like it that way. It has all the most important features in a nice minimalist interface without a bloat of unnecessary gimmicks and features. A few minor bugs with due dates sometimes changing by themselves, nothing major. Doesn't support Touch ID on iPhone or iPad which is very annoying. I would rate five stars if it supported Touch ID as it provides superior convenience, speed and security. Especially considering the kind of sensitive financial information the app is likely to contain.

Awesome!. awesome app guys!! simple an easy. love it!

Absolutely invaluable app. I have been using this app for over a year, and I no longer have any overdue/forgotten bills. Syncs very well, and regularly updated. My only wish would be for a Windows version that syncs. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to organise their bill payments efficiently with the least hassle.

New update solved my syncing woes. I'm happy again.

Crashes all the time. Dissatisfied with the product, syncing from my mac to phone is not happening and when I add bills it just closes. Sort it out I paid for this product ;(

Beautifully Crafted. Really impressed with this app. It looks impressive and has all the features you need to keep on top of the bills. Syncs seamlessly between iDevices and simply works.

All organized. Wow this app is wonderful I have been using it now for about 6 months and I love it. I have been able to get organized financially. Well done guys 😄

Get it, almost there. For the price of this app I can't expect flawless syncing (been using Dropbox, will try iCloud) about 1/2 the time it syncs. Gives push reminders to pay bills, that's what I really want.

Was a good app.... My wife and I used this to keep on top of bills and we liked it. But if a clunky interface but it worked. Now without Dropbox sync there is no way for us to stay in sync so it really is useless couples.

Not bad, but still needs work. Overall this is not a bad application and it is nice to be able to also work with desktop (Mac) version and have both sync together. However, there are still serious shortcomings, for example: 1. Bills set for automatic payment do not automatically log themselves as paid, but instead show as being overdue. 2. NOTE field is Log Payment window is tiny and does not easily show all information entered there. 3. Enter Passcode screen does not appear quick enough, so that one can see the list of bills before it is covered by Passcode entry screen. 4. Even this latest version still does not support Touch ID.

Love it but.... I love the app. It's actually so awesome, simple and easy to use. I only request one thing before I change my review to 5 stars and that is: TouchID to unlock if you use passcode. That is all!

Disappointed. Thought it was the best bill reminder app but lately it's been very buggy. I put in a new auto payment bill 3 different times today and still can't find it. It wasn't saving it or who knows what happened to it. Fed up, found a better app.

no Wi-Fi Syncing. Still no wi-fi syncing? I want my private finance data to be private. We need a choice. No choice - no stars.

Fabulous!. I absolutely love this app. This greatly helps me remember when items are due, either that I manually pay or that I autopay. Fully customized setup for different categories, types and frequencies. The developer is very helpful and offers great support. Definitely worth the price.

Sync problems. Doesn’t sync properly between 3 devices. iMac, iPhone and iPad all with same apple id

Great App. Found this app great. Never forgotten a bill since I had this app. Only problem I had was it didn't do bi-weekly but last update fixed this so 5 stars in my book.

Unfortunate. Similar to other review. The Dropbox sync allowing for sharing of data was a big deal. The removal of this make the app useless (for me). The explanation provided was due to effort to maintain Dropbox sync in light of API changes. I’m sure that’s true but I expect there was also an opportunity to remove the capability and reintroduce it as a paid subscription feature in accordance with current trends (speculation only). Whatever the case I can’t continue on with the app as it is today.

Awesome App. This App is very useful, thanks to this app I have never forgot to pay a bill on time and the design is very well done. Keep up the excellent work!

Everything I need. I love this app. It syncs flawlessly between my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Beautiful interface and very user friendly.

Amazing Software. I have never used another bill management software package for iOS. Thanks to Chronicle, I don't believe I will ever have to. Chronicle has always been easy to use yet powerful. It is updated frequently to keep up with improvements to each iOS version. If you are looking for a bill management software package that seamlessly integrates with Mac OS X (optional), look no further than Chronicle.

Does one job very well and outstanding support.. Update 2, 19 August 2021. 2 updates in one day you might ask? Well, I was having an issue logging into the Mac App so I contacted the developer. After a few emails, my issue was resolved! I have had contacts with developers in the past but honetly, none compare to the service I got here. 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! Update 19 August 2021. It’s very much appreciated to get developer feedback and am very happy to see that the subscription model will cover both Mac and iOS. As of this writing, I have been unsuccessful in getting the Mac app to recognize my subscription. I sent a detailed description to the developers website and am quite confident that the issue will be resolved. Stay tuned… Nice easy app to add your bills and income with a nice display telling you when the next bills are due. When the due day arrives just click on “log payment” and it will then notify you next month again. Not complicated with categories etc. In other words, it is not a checkbook program. It is a bill reminder. The big but in my opinion is that an iOS subscription does not work on the Mac. (THIS HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED-1 subscription works for both platforms)

Nice and Simple. Good looking UI. Simple app, easy to use, does its job well.

Not very efficient to use. Not sure if I understand this app because it feels like a chore at times. It's a great concept to have reminders for bills however my bill totals change every month and changing that figure is tedious. Also when The year likes to default at 4000 and takes forever to wheel back to 2015.

Chronicle. Great app use it all the time just not comfortable having to pay a yearly fee for the “ View Forecast”

Great Financial Management App. This is a great app, however since the toolbar only functions when users pay for the pro subscription, your should give us the option to hide it or make it visible only when the pro since us paid for. It is annoying to see a toolbar that yoy cannot use unless you pay up.

Just keeps getting better.. Great work with adding colour to the icons. I've been on top of my bills to the point where it almost feels fun to pay them.

Absolutely Awesome App.. We absolutely love this app. It's our most practical and useful app that we use all the time. Simplifies our bill tracking and paying. Love the encouragements too. We use Chronicle every day!

only 5 bills in the free version. Dont waste your time and bandwidth downloading this app. You cant even test run it properly to see if you would want to pay for the Pro version...who in life only has 5 bills to add?!?!

I miss the quick log feature. I just upgraded from Chronicle Pro 9 to Chronicle 14 with the Chronicle Cloud subscription. I miss the quick log feature.

Awesome app and great developer!. Been using Chronicle on my iOS devices for a few years and have to commend the great work from the developer! Mike was quick to reply back when I reported a recent issue and was even quicker to fix it! Keep up the great work!

Simple but excellent. This is exactly what I needed to keep track of my bill payments. It's very simple, but that's what I needed. It reminds me of bills that are coming up, and even has a "notes" portion when logging a paid bill so that I can punch in the confirmation number. Definitely helps me keep on top of things. Highly recommended.

Get old badly. :(. Really good app but the Apple WATCH need a little bit of love it just don't open at all. :( Also, French and more category would be a nice addition!

Chronicle. Amazing, don't know what I would do without it:)

Love it but…. It would be really helpful if I was able to enter my starting balance for my account and have a running total in the forecast. This way I can see what my account balance is after each bill. Also, if there was an option to carry over the remainder of what is left to the next month. I would give it 5 stars if this was available.

Data collection!!!. This app wants to collect your email address. The reason given is “to keep you updated on new updates and tips” all can be done via App Store so there’s no reason to share email yet it doesn’t allow you to skip the email requirement. Also the email is managed and handled away from the app making. Terrible approach to security! Do not download!!!!

Best Bills App.. I started using this Bills App after a previous App from another developer seemed to be forgotten about. I love the new UI of Chronicle, easy to use and all my devices remain in Sync (iPhone, iPad Air & Mini & MacBook Pro). Can find no fault with the App.

Great App!. Would definitely recommend this App. I've been using it for about 9 months now .It's great to keep track of your household bills and where your expenses are as it also gives you a running total for the year. Recently installed an update, had a few glitches but support was on top of it immediately .problem was solved quickly and efficiently.

i upgraded from Chronicle Pro and now i don't have any income listed. This was a feature i HAD and now i don't have... and you're asking for money to get it back. I don't need income forecast, reports or any of that other stuff... i just like to know when my wife's paycheque is going to be deposited. I'm just going to go back to my pro version that has the feature i already paid for.

Excellent!. This is a brilliant app, beautifully engineered, and well supported by the development team. I no longer have to wonder if I have paid a bill or not as Chronicle tracks each bill (whether it's a manual or automatic payment), and allows me to customize everything. This latest update to a "universal" app makes it even more useful for the iPad. It's just what I was waiting for. Thanks for continuing to make improvements and for providing ongoing support to an extremely useful tool.

An essential part of my daily routine. Have been using Chronicle for years now and cannot see myself without it. This is by far one of my most essential apps. There is no way that I am seeing myself stopping using Chronicle.

One Job done very well. This is an app that is easy to use and once youve got your upcoming bills entered, you can easily see what bills are upcoming. It's not a complicated checkbook app. It works across iOS & MacOS with one reasonable subscription. I've been using the iOS version for a while and am very happy with it. I didn't get the Mac version because back then it was a different purchase. Now one subscription gives you access to both platforms. I had to contact the developer with an issue I was having and the support was outstanding.

Income please!!. Love the Mac version. Please add income option on the iOS version!!!!!

Partial payment?. I’d give 5 stars but I can’t figure out how to do a partial payment.

Love desktop version; hate mobile. Have been using Chronicle for years on Mac but as banking becomes more mobile I expect my bill-tracking system to be mobile, too. Recently downloaded the iOS version to find it a very limited version of the desktop app, which no longer allows me to save bill statements & paid receipts; instead, I have to type in confirmation #s. If I just wanted a bill “tracker,” I would use excel; Chronicle says it’s a bill “manager,” and it is—on the desktop. That plus no more Dropbox sync has me looking for another app. Unfortunately Chronicle is currently the best out there IMO, but sooner or later it will not be, & I will ditch it.

Buggy, could be better. App is buggy. Touch ID is hit or miss—sometimes it either doesn't prompt for authentication or the app lets you in even if you have a passcode set. Would be good to get a total of all bills for a given month, and for subsequent months.

Blows the competition away!. Having used several other bill tracking apps before Chronicle for iPhone/iPad launched, I can easily say that this app is far and beyond the best bill tracking app anywhere. The UI and the steady updates are worth the extra price. Multiple sync options including iCloud and a very reliable push notification feature ensure your data is safe and delivered in a timely fashion. Paying bills is anything but fun, but using this app is. The level of polish and all the extra features you get like customizable icons, payment history, notes, and flexible repeat patterns make Chronicle a top notch financial tool. The Mac version is every bit as good as well. Chronicle is a great example of the type of user experience an iPhone user expects from a quality app. Worth every cent and pays for itself when it makes you more diligent with paying your bills on time. That's really all that matters.

Great app. Great Developer. I’ve been using Chronicle Pro for about a year and it has really helped me get our bills paid on time or early, something I’ve struggled with previously. Have tried several apps/spreadsheets over the years and always given up after a few months because they weren’t particularly easy to use. This app is and it’s improving over time too. I’ve had the odd question or feature request and Mike at Littlefin has always responded almost instantly. Can’t ask for more than that. Keep up the great work!!

Income. Please add the income vs bill feature on mobile. This is on your desktop version but mobile for me is all I use. Thank

Crashes when adding a new bill. Normally love this app but I've been trying to add a new bill and it keeps crashing!

Nice app. Great App. Needs iCloud support as well as Auto sync periodically. Needs iPad version. Would also be nice to have the amount due showing on the main display.

Lost some features from previous version. Some syncing issues from old version to new version, was not aware of change to new version which exacerbated the problem. Great app, I hope the company updates the new app with the same useability as the old app such as a better overview of the bill and able to view the payment history at the same time as details of the bill as well as a more intuitive way to enter multiple bill payments. It has become tedious to enter multiple bill payments. Hopefully the company is as reponsive to feedback as they have been historically.

Will save you money!. It’s a solid app, and the developer is on responsive for support and for adding valuable new features. Recommended.

An Excellent Bill Minder App!. I have been using Chronicle for just over a year, and I am very pleased with it. Chronicle is easy to setup, and easy to enter your repetitive bills, as well as one-offs. I asked the developers for a couple of changes to accommodate some unique situations that I had, and after reviewing them, the changes were incorporated in the next release. You can’t ask for better than that!

Excellent application and support. Very useful application. Easy to use. Even better the personalized and fast support by email. In a matter of minutes my concerns were resolved at satisfaction. Exemplary support.

iCloud sync badly broken. Neither of my iOS apps sync at all with iCloud anymore. I have to DELETE them and re-download again to get them to sync properly. As a paid customer for both iOS and desktop, I’m very frustrated. And when I made a support request I was basically told to read the online help?! Not cool.

Great App. Would give it 5 Stars if they make ICloud Sync. It would be nice to have the option to make your own categories and more logos. Otherwise a great app works like a charm.

Endable end date. I assume this field is to enter the date a bill ends. I’ve entered the end date of the bill in this field but the bill still shows in forecast. Would be great if I could budget by weekly paycheck. It was reasonably priced if it functioned as it should. $12 wasted.

Beautifully simple, intuitive - extremely effective. This little app has become meaningful to my life as it helped me take the first steps in getting my finances in order, under control and now a must go-to for daily maintenance over the past five years. Thank you for no gimmicks of ads continually bombarding to upgrade or to rate the app - ever. It's designed to keep a daily personal budget while saving information regarding costs, totals and averages paid on bills. The app is apparently designed with a personal and thoughtful touch by the author, reflected by selection of icons, layout and choice of words used in written instructions. Settings gives options for the user to gear the app according to personal preferences, and the app is constantly upgrading to enhance and create features, like projecting totals for bills due. Thank you for this awesome little app that proves once again: The simpler, the better...

my bills tracker go-to. this app allowed me to grow by having my bills displayed in an comprehensive way, and I am able to budget accordingly. I rate it only 4 stars because the UI is a little clunky (even after 5 years of using it sometimes I still struggle to find what I'm looking for immediately) and more importantly, the iOS app does not update on the background as often as it should. Say, you have a due bill that's creating a notification badge on your phone - you pay the bill on the computer and it automatically sync the new info on the cloud - the notification badge on the iOS app does NOT go away until you open the app or wait some days. This should be seamless, but it also could be a problem of iOS.

Just what I was looking for!. I almost considered buying an actual calendar, crazy right? And in this calendar I was going to make note of each day a bill was due, repeating the process 12 times for each bill. 12 x 14 = too much writing! A simplifying of this process was what I was looking for. And I found it. The interface couldn't be simpler. I enjoy the cartoonish icons, they add a little life to an otherwise boring list of creditors. One of the great and most crucial things about the app is the ability to input and save payments that you've made. I'm sure there are a few more things for me to explore, I've only just downloaded it 30 minutes prior to writing this review. It costs about as much as a desk or wall calendar, saves paper and time. I'm a fan.

need fixing. income is logged a bill. income is never a bill. a bill is what needs paying.

Used every day. Very Helpful Presentation of Bills. I own several bill tracker apps, and I definitely prefer how Chronicle shows me upcoming bills: with a split screen with a calendar on top & "soon" bills on bottom. I've used Billminder for 2+ years, but it hasn't been updated since 2013, and it was causing a battery drain in my 5s, by crashing in the background (per Apple Genius Bar diagnosis of weird battery drain). So, goodbye Billminder, hello Chronicle, my new bill-paying assistant. And, it IS a good idea: I haven't paid a bill late since I've been using Chronicle. That's the only thing I've changed, and my credit score is gradually improving, as old late payments drop off my record over time. (Credit Karma is a fast app to check with).

Great app. This app really helps me keep track of my bills to pay on time or even early!

Developer is awesome. I previously had an issue with the app crashing on startup on my new M1 Max MBP. Developer reached out and was super helpful. I ultimately resolved it on my own, but they were super responsive and did their best to try and discover the root cause. 100% happy with the response. App so far is great now that its working properly. The yearly subscription is about on par with what I'd expect for an app with this featureset. I tend to be pretty critical of apps adopting new subscription models without adding features to justify it, but given this is less than a dollar a month to keep an ongoing overview of my expenses, I think its totally worth it. I do hope more features are added soon though.... It great but simple right now.

Best Personal Finance App!. I've been a user of Chronicle for many years and it has become one of my must have apps on both iPhone and Mac. Chronicle is simple, yet powerful which is what a personal finance app should be. The app provides valuable insights with the generted reports, especially after years of financial data are available. The app itself has always been solid and this latest release is the best version of Chronicle! It runs super smooth on my M1 Mac Mini and M1 Macbook Air given its native support for Apple Silicon. I can't recommend Chronicle enough to help with personal finances. Its so fast and easy to use. I can't imagine not using Chronicle.

Great!!. Love this app. I used a similar app for years and it was not updated and would no longer work. I looked and looked for a new one and finally settled on one that was marginal. I used it for a while and then found Chronicle. I love it. It works perfectly and is very easy to use and set up. I love the fact I can go straight to the payment site right out of Chronicle. I like the forecast and notes on each bill. I also like the ability to put in credit cards with zero balance and the payment does not have to be the same each month. I paid for the pro version right away. Thank you for a great and simple app.

Essential Software. Before, every two weeks when I received my paycheck, I would devote some time during the weekend to sitting down and paying bills through my bank Bill Pay. It was an anxiety-producing process going back years. Along came Chronicle. This app has completely eliminated my bill paying stress. I am reminded of each bill 7 days (can be set for whatever you want) prior to due date. I use the biller's app, or log in to their website to pay the bill, and check it off in Chronicle. You can even, if desired, access the website through Chronicle itself. The act of paying a single bill at a time has eliminated the biweekly stress I dealt with for years. It can even manage your automatic payments. and give you the total of your remaining due bills for the month. It will keep track of income as well and create forecasts. Other features include the ability to view your payment history or bill statistics, showing you how much you've paid each year, or how much you've paid for your mortgage vs your credit card or loan payment in a pie chart. It will show your average payment to each payee and so much more. Rarely does an app come along that is so life-changing.

Would like my money back. Not impressed, glitches every time I add a new bill

Best App I’ve used for Budgeting. This is a great app and has helped me stay on top of my bills as well as budget for saving and other essentials like groceries. My biggest issue right now is that it has been showing multiples of the same payment when I look in history. For instance, it is showing right now that I paid groceries 4 times. Doesn’t make the app unusable, but it is an annoyance. The other more minor issue is that it is sometimes inaccurate when it tells me how much to save for bills that are less than monthly. For instance, I have my car registration due in June, but the amount to save shows how much it would be in exactly a year rather than in 8 months. Other than that it is a great app and has allowed me for the first time to track my bills without having to do too much legwork once everything is in it. Thanks for the app!

Best App for Bills Ever. This is hands-down the best app I have ever used for bills! I love that it has just an insane amount of features and abilities that make it so easy to track and manage my bills and be reminded about them. And the fact that you don’t have to link it to a bank account or all that other stuff that other apps want you to do is amazing I just wanted something specifically for bills and this was everything I hoped for. The one issue I’m having is I can’t find an option to delete a bill? There is an archive option but this causes my list of bills to become really swamped when sometimes I just want to delete the bill altogether. I searched the articles and couldn’t find anything, but overall that’s not a huge deal obviously. Great app!

Not sure why I had to pay twice. I got this on my Mac then had my husband add it to his phone and got charged twice for it. It’s an awesome app but having to pay when you put it on more then one device is questionable. Please explain

Chronicle bills app. Love this app, keeps track of payments, notes, everything you need for bill payments and income

App keeps crashing. The app keeps crashing when I try to edit the income. Not worth what I paid if it can’t even work properly

It's OK but could be great. Chronicle is OK if you want to get reminders of bills due, see historical payments, and get an overview of how much you'll get paid or be spending each month. But it's not very helpful if you need to track your budget in real time based on the available money in your bank account. This would be a great app if you could a) add your current available bank balance at the top or even sync your bank account, b) see the remaining balance in a column next to each upcoming bill based on the current available bank balance so you can see exactly when you may go under or have excess, and c) have an option to show repeating bills and income in the Overview for 3–12 months instead of just once so you can plan and budget more accurately for 3–12 months ahead of time based on the current available bank balance and what you'll be making vs. spending. Sadly, I’ll still be using my homemade spreadsheet to do more intricate tracking.

Good, but I have ideas for more features. Most people get paid every two weeks. Therefore, most people plan out what bills are due for each check. This could be easier in the app. Instead of, or in addition to, the "Due Soon" tab, there could be a "Due this check" or "Paycheck View" that you could view bills for this check and the next check. It would be a bonus if the app you tell you how much money you have left over after paying you bills for that checlk and if you should save any money for the next check. Say you have more bills due on one check vs. the other, therefore you should save an extra $100 for the next check. Also, I understand the word "Forecast" is looking into the future, but you should be able to view this month and past months as well. Also, exporting that forecast to excel would be super helpful. OR just have options to filter the results you are looking at in the forecast view. I used to manage my bills in an excel and compared to that I'd say it's easier to manage in this app. Alright that's it, enough ideas for you.

Won’t automatically mark bills as paid. I use this app in conjunction with Bills Monitor Because I like the view of Bills Monitor better (it’s so much simpler and less busy) but as a paranoid person I enjoy having a back up app. I only use this to keep myself on track with bills and not to actually integrate with accounts and pay the bills. However, in the past month, all of my bills in this app that are set to pay automatically simply won’t do so. They are all now showing up as 20 days late even though when I click on the bills, they are specifically set to pay automatically. This is completely ruining the experience for me and rendering this app useless. I can’t delete the bills and re-enter them because then I would lose the entire history of them that I have tracked for the past few years and that is not acceptable. Because all of these allegedly unpaid bills are showing up at the top of my list, I cannot quickly open this app to see when my next actual bill is due. Within the app, there is no easy way to contact help or support. I am finding a common theme amongst developers where they issue glitchy apps and then make it exceptionally difficult for you to actually communicate with anyone about it. I was actually considering upgrading to the pro version of this app but given the major flaws already and the inability to actually get support, I will not be wasting my money.

User of Mac Application since 2010. I’ve used the Mac version of the application since 2010, before the Mac App Store version was available with the iCloud Sync feature. Well, I just migrated to the Mac App Store feature, purchased the iOS version for my iPhone, enabled iCloud Drive on both Mac and iPhone, and I couldn’t be happier. This application does exactly what I need. I tracks my bills and payments and provides a great and easy to understand reference for my spouse. The developer has always been very prompt in responding to my email questions. The developer has constantly updated the Mac application over the past 5 years. Money well spent. Thank you LittleFin.

Haven’t missed any payments.. Works great for me.

Chronicle has been helping me avoid late charges for over 13 years. I checked, and I first purchased Chronicle back in 2010. I have ADHD, and I used to always have problems remembering which bills were due when, leading to late charges and frustration. Chronicle changed that. Now I make sure that I check Chronicle at every payday, and I haven't forgotten a bill in many years. It worked well when I was paid twice a month, it was a Godsend when the company changed to every two weeks (because the payments stopped "lining up" and I had to pay much closer attention), and it works great now (back to twice a month with a new job) when I have a number of bills that I only use occasionally. I make it a point to check EVERY bill from the biller's website, and if I have no balance I just submit a "0.00" and "Zero Balance" transaction with Chronicle. Then next month, I check it again. Mike has been excellent at customer support in the very few instances (four, one bug, one question, one beta issue, another question about the subscription model) where I needed to contact him. I would be devastated if this software were no longer available. It's one of the VERY few pieces of software where I have no issues at all paying a subscription price - it's absolutely worth it.

Excellent, elegant app conscientious support. I've been using Chronicle for several years now. It has tremendously simplified my bill-paying and record-keeping. Its design is elegant and the interface is very intuitive. The developer has done a good job of producing a feature set that's just right. You can use it to simply prompt and track your bill payments, or you can get much more sophisticated if you like, integrating income information, tracking spending, etc. At tax time, it's a breeze to produce records of spending that can be listed as business expenses. Chronicle is frequently updated, and the developer somehow manages to provide very rapid (often within an hour or so) support. A new feature that I'm using is a way to enter info about a trial subscription so that you're warned in time to cancel so you won't be charged for a service you may not really want. I highly recommend Chronicle.

If you are having troubles with syncing, read here:. If you are having troubles with syncing, be sure to download & install the latest update of Chronicle for Mac. I was having sync issues when I first downloaded the iPhone app, but checked for an update to the desktop software, and voila, everything seems to be working flawlessly. The only real "problem" that I'm having now is that my number of bills due isn't quite matching what it says on the iPhone, even after changing my settings to match on both devices. That being said, so far this issue appears to be minor and this app is going to save me, so I rate it 5-stars.

Simple, yet Effective!. I cannot express how much this app has changed our lives when it comes to staying on top of bills! I very rarely leave reviews on apps, but after using this one for a couple months, I feel the need to express my opinion. It is a very simple app to keep track of your bills. Nothing fancy. It sends out reminders to me when things are due, I love how everything is color coded, and you can pick icons for each bill! One of my favorite parts is after I log a bill payment saying that I paid a bill, a voice comes on and say “Great Job!” and “Way to go!” 😂😂 Even as an adult, I love the positive words of encouragement for paying my bills! Adulting is hard! Must have app! I even upgraded to the paid version (6 bucks a year) to be able to see the history and track how much I am paying every month in bills. It’s pretty neat and well worth it. Thanks for creating a great app! 😊

Never syncs via iCloud. I guess it's been about 3 years that I've been using this app, and I honestly feel like it's getting progressively worse. I gave up on the desktop version, but figured the icloud sync would finally work once I paid for the app. It doesn't work at all. Not even a little. I read another review that suggested deleting the app on all of my devices and reinstalling it, but even with icloud enabled after the reinstall, it still doesn't sync. Now, all of the bills with logged payment info from the previous week are now overdue - it lost all of my payment info. Keeping payment info is literally the only thing that the app needs to do but it can't. Deleting for good.

Simple, works great. I’ve been using this app for years to track my bills. I have the Mac app too and it syncs between my iPhone and Mac and iPad over iCloud. It’s easy to enter and edit bills and see past payments. It automatically shows you what is coming up and you can set reminders. I sometimes forget when a bill is due, so it’s handy to be able to see quickly on my phone via the app or my calendar. I like to keep my records on my computer at home, but if I’m out and remember I need to pay something I can log it on my phone and it will sync to my computer so my records are complete. I like that the interface is simple and not cluttered with ads. I like that I can see the history of what I’ve paid overtime, it is an easy way to notice unexpected charges. I’ve had some issues with sync lag since the app switched from Dropbox to iCloud sync but lately that has improved.

Horrible. Was excited to integrate this into my life after reading all the positive reviews. Bought for both Mac and iPhone. Instantly thrown by the inability to add certain bills to the Mac while I could in the iPhone, but I have both apps and the sync worked well enough to use both at once so I kept trying. What killed it for me was trying to add historical payments; it counted as a future payment and reduced the current balance. Plus an annoying vocal "bravo" or something that makes you wish you had been late on a payment rather than hearing that voice! I read the manual for adding historical payments and you have to hold the Option key while pressing Log Payment: It registers as a Partial payment and STILL deducts from Current Balance. Oh, and it will all need to be entered manually, one payment at a time. If I wanted to spend a week trying to tweak it maybe I could get everything sorted but I'd always wonder if it was going to mess things up. Ultimately I wanted this to simplify my life but it's just going to complicate and frustrate. I may as well stick with the banks lousy system - it will be more reliable and less work than this. I give up.

P.M.. I transitioned from BillTracker to this app. I love using it. It is more detailed and I can manage my bills a lot better.

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT!!. Over the years, I've struggled with organizing all financial obligations. In the past I've used spreadsheets, calendars and numerous apps but could not get a good handle of all my debts. After trying out the Chronicle iOS app... I found it's an app I can't live without!! Entered all my debts and now I see everything coming due. I can now plan my pay periods accordingly. It's been about 6 months now and I haven't missed a bill. Saved me from those late fees! The app works well with my Apple iWatch and macOS app. Syncing is seamless!. All data is sync'd between all my devices. Its also great that you can see the complete history of all your payments and confirmations in case you run into a descrepancy. Had a small issue with the macOS app, but their customer service was quick to resolve my issues. If you have a lot of bills and are having a tough time juggling them, I strongly recommend the Chronicle app!!

Deteriorating…. Initially liked this APP although some features were lacking. The latest iteration does not recognize a payment if I choose to make a payment on other than the current date. When I log the payment date two or three days in the future, the notification remains active under the “Due Soon” header. This will be my last subscription renewal. Most of my banking APPs now allow scheduling payment and provide alerts. Recently the APP freezes requiring re-login. I think the designer may be’dining out on outdated design.

Only Bill Organizer worth your time. I have been using Chronicle for about 5 years. The product itself is 5 stars for so many reasons, but the developer is an added bonus. He is friendly and responsive, but most importantly, keeps the app updated which is hard to find in the App Store. I didn’t really need the pro features but I pay for them anyhow because this app is absolutely worth it. All other apps are automatic and filled with ads and “we’ll help lower your bills” junk. This app is no nonsense and has all the right features you need if you want to easily organize, track, pay, archive, and keep history of your bills. Get it/buy it, you will not regret it.

More bill slots. It be good to have more bill slots so I can put all my bills in the app instead of trying to remember which ones to pay each month.

Simplicity and Functionality meet.. I have been using Chronicle for some time now and have been consistently pleased with the app on both my iPhone and Mac. I have suggested this app to friends and family that want a simple and easy to use method to track bills. This does not replace your traditional methods but enhances it and should be added to you bill organization rotation. There are many things that Chronicle simply does right. No muss, no fuss UI means that the main purpose of this app is to log and track bills, payments and due dates. Isn’t that all that we really want in a Bill Reminder app; no need for the rainbow of colors and charts. All this serves to do is make a flashy app that tends to fall short in the areas that mean the most. I do wish that Chronicle added a few features, the most important for me would be a way to export my logs into an excel, numbers, pdf or document format for storing or logging outside of this application. With that said it is a truly functional app that delivers, in a beautifully simply UI.

Always on my iPhone and my mac. I bought this app years ago for my mac when i got hit with a late fee for a bill for the first time; just got overwhelmed with all the different bills. Once it was available for the iPhone I added that app. Just completed an 8 week US road trip and paid all my bills on time from my iPhone using Chronicle to remind me and take me to the bill pay pages. Super Easy!!! And every time I have a question, my email gets answered within a day. Fantastic support (thanks, Mike!). It’s also a great tool for young people to manage their expenses; I got my mid-twenties son started on it to ensure he pays his student loans, etc., on time and can see what he’s spending each month. Fabulous!!!

Great tool. I am a previous user of BillTracker or well I am in the process of changing nothing wrong with BillTracker but it hasn't been updated in a while (I guess because it just works), but I decided I needed more and Chronicle was the best alternative out there. I decided to try Chronicle simply because it's simple and to the point and its integration with 1Password. Something that BillTracker was lacking. However, BillTracker got me accustomed to one vital feature Chronicle is lacking. The ability to set automatic log payments for certain bills. This pretty much allows me not having to manually log the payment for some of the bills that draft automatically from my checking account. I am simultaneously using both apps while I transition over to chronicle. So far I like what I see and eventually will be using chronicle solely. I will rate 5 stars when auto payment logging is added and maybe finger print function in a later increment.

Chronicle just keeps getting better.... Just updated to Chronicle Pro v 9.7.1, and this app just keeps getting better and better with each update. I've been using Chronicle since 2012, and I consider Chronicle to be one of my most essential Mac & iPhone apps. It helps me track all of my bills, payments, income, etc. and has truly allowed me to get a much better handle on my personal finances. I really don't know what I would do without this app - I'm currently tracking 70+ entries (and counting). Also, the app's developer is very quick to respond to any questions or issues. And if you haven't heard of the dev's latest app, don't forget to check out Directive on the iOS and Mac app stores. It's a great app for keeping track of all kinds of recurring tasks.

It’s Ok not Great. I used to have access to the “Bill Tracker“ app until I switched to an iPhone 14. It’s no longer available on this phone. This app is the closest I’ve come to it. I do not need anything other than the app to show me the month, what the total $ amount of bills would be for the month, if a bill got paid or is upcoming or overdue, and be able to have an ending date for a particular creditor and just repeat. I DO NOT NEED, charts, graphs, speculation etc. Just a simple online calendar like you might have on your wall at home with your notes on it. This app does not allow you to do a quick look at what the TOTAL dollar amount of your bills will be for the month every month. I had months where the amounts would vary and it was convenient to plan savings ahead of time. It also does not allow you to put an ending date on the payments. I like that the old app, below the calendar, would only show that particular month’s bills upcoming and overdue and not just continually scroll forward to show what due for only 30 days from the date you are using the app and no further. It would also automatically forward to the next day even if you had a no payment amount for a particular creditor listed(as in, no dollar amount due). This app DOES delete the particular bill that had been paid and show when due the following month only. This app will only show bills due for 30 days from the day you are using the app though you can scroll months ahead but with no bills indicated. I’m using it for now until I can find another totally free app that does what I’m used to.

Great utility.. I’ve been using Chronicle for about a year in a half and absolutely love it. I am not enthusiastic about opening my mail and on occasion I let it build up. This can create problems when it comes to paying the bills on time. With Chronicle reminding me when my bills are due, I don’t have to worry about being late anymore. This also eliminates the late charges I was getting hit withon occasion of being late. Just one late payment paid for the application. Also, Chronicle just doesn’t track your expenses it helps keep track of your income also, so you know how much disposable income you have each month. If you are responsible person then you won’t over spend and get yourself in debt. LOVE IT! I highly recommend this application.

Great App. I have tried other apps to keep track of paying my bills. This one is by far the best. It is simple and intuitive.

This app is just ‘okay’. This app, for the low price point per year, is decent enough. I like that I can enter the balance and interest rate on bills. You can also see a forecast for the next month, partially what I was looking for in an app. Unfortunately, figuring out how to enter items and do other things in the app is tricky. Then, when I looked at the help documents, they were scarce and provided no genuine assistance. Because I was getting so frustrated, I just had all my bills set to automatically pay because I couldn’t figure out how logging bills worked. Additionally, you can see a forecast for next month of how much money you’ll have remaining after bills. But once the month starts, there’s no way for you to see the totals anymore. As a result, I take my total income from Chronicle and total bills for the next month from Chronicle and input them into a Numbers spreadsheet to keep up with my balance as I make additional purchases and payments. Like right now, it’s March 3, so the only way to know how much money I should have remaining is by calculating it myself. I wish I had known this before paying for the app. For now, this is just an ‘okay’ solution. I’ll look for an app showing my remaining total, not just a forecast. In summary, this app is genuinely JUST to TRACK bills, not so much remaining money. I don’t know why; if the app knows how many bills I have for March and how much income I receive, it cannot show me a total of what’s left throughout the month. That way, as I add more bills, I can continue to see my remaining income.

Great reminder bill app. Great app to notify me on upcoming bills. My one request is to please include iPhone mirror notification alert on Apple Watch. A Apple Watch app would be another request

Best. Best app I have used for budget and bill tracking

Automatic payments not marked as paid. Edit after the developer contacted me: If you have automatic payments that showed as due soon, then fell off your due bills list (because it was automatically paid) before this app had a major update, you now need to go into Settings and make changes in the Automatic Bills section. The text below the two buttons says “If off, automatic bills will not be included in in [sic] the count of due soon bills on badge, and will not be shown in the home screen widget.” This is confusing because I had both sliders set to what is typically the off section. When I click them, they go green which indicates on. By setting them to green, the “overdue” bill does disappear. But I could absolutely understand someone else reading it the way I did and not toggling them on. I also don’t understand from a customer/UI standpoint why this was added to Settings with no notice as automatic payments behaved just fine before. I would not have known to look there if the developer hadn’t responded. Like other reviewers, I have a bill that is on automatic payment. Since the last Chronicle update, the bill is marked as auto pay in the settings but is still in the overdue payments section. It should not be. Please fix this. I am very happy with the app otherwise.

iPhone XS Max/iPad Pro 1st Gen/iOS 12.1.1/Chronicle 8.0 Series. Chronicle 8.0.2: Previous glitches appear to be no more, so continuing to test and will post an update in the next few days. Chronicle 8.0.1: Crashes on launch with ‘Face ID’ turned ‘On’ on iPhone XS Max, but if you delete/remove the App and reinstall; go through the prompts and ‘Enable’ iCloud; closing and reopening did let me get back in and see contents/list for my Bills with ‘Face ID’ turned ‘Off’. On my iPad Pro 1st Gen; the App lets me open and see contents/list for my Bills with ‘Touch ID’ turned ‘On’. Chronicle 8.0: Opening up App has you swipe and gives the option to sign up for their Mailing List; then goes to asking to ‘Enable’ iCloud with me enabling and even trying to restore from a previous backup, but no matter how many times this App is opened or closed; even deleted/removed and reinstalled; the Alerts show there’s information there from outside the App, but opening this App keeps starting over from the beginning with all the prompts reappearing and none of the contents/list for my Bills reappearing. [4-Star Rating is in recognition of these Fine Developers Dedication to making this App the Best it can be while I continue to test]

Best App for Bill Tracking. This has always been my favorite app for bill tracking but I had some automatic "monthly" payments that were charged every 30 days instead of on the same date every month. This caused those charges to drift off by a day a month. I recently contacted the developer about this issue and now with the new custom billing option I can set every type of bill I have to always calculate the correct date every time. Excellent support and with the new custom billing option all of my bills are perfect every time. With this version Chronicle has truly become a full five star app for me. Highly recommended!

Pay Online button/feature doesn’t work. I thought the app would be useful with this feature, but even though I’ve entered and saved URLs for my billers, the button doesn’t actually work. I like the concept of the app though.

Days are off. It says tomorrow is today, so all notifications are off by 1 day. This is basic, foundational level stuff. If you’re a bill reminder app, but you can’t manage correct notifications, do you really qualify as a reminder app?

Just what I needed. This app is clear, colorful, well designed and a simple easy way to keep track of bills owed on a schedule. Support was quick, friendly and helpful. I look forward to seeing it refined further. I'd like to be able to see a history of payments. And more icons—or the ability to add my own—as I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. But these are little things. Right now I'm appreciative of the utility of this app. I also like the reminders (can save a lot on late fees). A bit much $ I thought, but it's helping me now and I expect NO late fees from here on out. Oh, and I definitely have the desktop version and they work well together (though I wish syncing was a bit smoother).
