The best way to calm anxiety. I’m a 19 y/o college student that suffers from an anxiety disorder. I feel anxious most of the time and when things to actually feel anxious about present themselves it can be absolutely debilitating for me physically and emotionally. However calm allows me to find hope in my current predicaments, and is amazing at calming me down. I really enjoy the soundscapes and meditation but my favorite thing is definitely the sleep story’s. Listening to a bedtime story made for little kids mostly is really strangely therapeutic. There are more adult options but give the kiddy one’s a try. I feel like I’m one of the last demographics that these sleep story’s would reach but they make me feel more secure and able to connect back to the security of childhood. But anyways I highly recommend this app, the subscription is a bit pricey but the quality isn’t matched anywhere else. Falling asleep, calming down, feeling secure, and gaining more confidence & hope have all been easy and peaceful to do with this app. I’ve been falling asleep with my headphones on every night so I can listen to this without disturbing my roommate. But I feel like he would enjoy it too. After just the first day of the free trial I’m hooked.

Amazing! (With updated review!). I'm asleep in minutes! Meditations are great! Reliefs anxiety! Best app! This app really helps me fall asleep! I recommend 100%! One thing though! The app is a little slow, which is fine, maybe it's just my iPad but if you know how to, please fix this! Ok this app is amazing! Sleep stories ALWAYS make me fall asleep! I have tried other apps, but this app is the one that gets me to fall asleep. I mainly do the sleep stories, but I've tried the mediation too and there great too! I love your music! I also love the daily check in! Best app ever! Updated feedback: I just thought of something, I don't know if you have this, but if you don't could you add the option to make playlists of your favorite calm stories, music, and meditations. You could have playlists of your favorite music that makes you fall asleep! UPDATE alright so we had a lifetime membership and then it quit so that was sad. But main thing—unless your a member or something it’s hard to use calm to its full potential. In fact, you can barely do anything. Still am firm to my claim—calms one of the best of its kind, and is really awesome! Helpful for all! Maybe more things for non members?

Thankful and learning each day to be Calm. My doctor had shared with me about the benefits of meditation.... I needed something to help when I was anxious as well something to help me relax. Shortly after that doctor visit I found the Calm app. Its been 5 years. It had been a stressful day and there was an introduction to the app and I took the 10 minutes and did the breathing and really focused on relaxing. I went back to work and I immediately told everyone about Calm.... I have been using it ever since! The time I meditate is my time to focus, to breathe and to just be in the moment. I had horrible insomnia and started the body scans... I tried the sessions without buying the subscription but soon found that I wanted more of the sessions after I did the first; so I bought the subscription and have never regretted it once! It's been a godsend. I love the bedtime stories and the daily Calm.... there is so much on this app that has helped me. I love that the app is adding new things. Thank you Tamara and your wonderful team for sharing and helping me bring peace and calm into my life!

Has become better with years. Calm has always been a good app. As they grew, so did frustrating tech issues but they seem to have solved those and have added to their programs. It’s as if they have beautifully sculpted the app with time. I really appreciate the choices given when I open Calm. Sometimes I need a moving meditation. Sometimes I need the wisdom Sometimes a little humor and sometimes only Tamara’s calming voice will do. I really appreciate the meditating sounds of soft rain or a washing machine or waves ebbing & flowing. But my very tough Working K9 will only calm when going through his annual vet visit with blood tests and shots and such to Baby Shhh and it works every time. So I guess if Calms me and my dog, I have to give it five stars. I love the breathing part. I use it almost daily. Not a fan of the music but the sleep stories are the best and I love that I can use the search bar and find one of my favorites I may be in the mood for such as a dream over Paris or the history of the Library at Oxford or the train stories. Also the narrators offer excellent choices and their are certain ones whom I just need to hear at hard times because their soft melodic gift of storytelling puts me right out. I really appreciate the variety. I have had the Calm app I believe since not long after it launched and as others have come and gone and Calm has had its own growing pains, it’s the one with which I remain. So, thanks Calm, from my Tough Dog and I both.

Sleep, anxiety, & life saver all in one app. Honestly, I had come to a point in my life where I insomnia and anxiety were at an all time high , I was on anxiety meds, sleep meds, anything they could do to try & get my anxiety and insomnia under control & even when the pills weren’t really helping, I decided to try this app out because even doctors had recommend it, while yes- price tag can seem like a lot, BUT I used this one night while my anxiety was setting in and I was asleep half way through the sleep story and when I woke in the morning I was in disbelief. Nothing, I mean nothing had helped me until I found this app. The meditation & sleep stories are amazing. I am so grateful for this app. Now, the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars would be due to a recommend I have for the creators, they should create a watch or something that can track your sleep & in the morning provide meditations, music, sleep stories that reflected how you slept the night before. For example, if someone woke up a lot, or of people were waking up frequently and having a hard time going back to sleep & maybe making suggestions for a meditation they could choose that one as more personal, or for anxiety with sleep or sleeplessness, things like that. I don’t know that would be my only recommendation, but overall and amazing app that’s worth the price.

So disappointed lately. This app was fabulous originally, but they have “improved” some functions so they are not easy to use any more. For example, we listen to the same Eric Braa episodes every night, but now they have moved them out of the instant display of my faves and buried them so I have to search for them in the middle of the night. They no longer have new Eric Braa episodes and his voice is so soothing. The recently used episodes should appear near the top of the category list so we can find them easily, not on the home page! Give us a way to make our own category(s). Give us a way to remove all the children’s stories from the adult content. Give us a way to totally delete content that is a trigger for us. And finally, in the middle of the night, a dialog sometimes pops up that I have to put my glasses on to read so I can dismiss it! That should NEVER happen. I wish someone would listen. I used to give feedback on each new story, but it never did any good so I stopped. I don’t feel they listen anymore and I’m disappointed.

Revolutionary Sleep App - Must Get!. Forget melatonin and L-theanine pills. This app is all you’ll need to truly unwind, relax and fall peacefully asleep in no time. There is a variety of stories and meditations for pretty much every taste and style to put even the most persistent of insomniacs to sleep. With soothing, calming voices like Tamara Levitt’s and Eric Braa’s you are all but guaranteed to completely let go of your stressful thoughts, relax, and fall asleep in no time! While this app is great as is, I do have some suggestions that could improve it even further and bring it to the next, absolute highest level: 0) allow for bookmarking, or better yet, make the app remember where you left off in a particular story if you try a different story half way through, but then decide to go back or if you close the app and want to go back to that story you started 1) allow the user to preset the ‘stop time’ on longer meditations/stories. 2) allow sorting of all content by length of time 3) allow stitching of different clips (i.e. so users can piece together their own content from existing clips). Thank you and keep up the great work!

Why did I get the subscription?. I’m a 41 year old male who has struggled with OCD and panic since age 6. I’ve gone through the doctors and medications. I thought I knew everything about diaphragmatic breathing, as it has been drilled into my head over the years. A couple weeks ago, my heart rate shot up. For the first time in my life, I was confident it wasn’t a panic attack and actually a heart attack. I stumbled out my apartment door, sweat dripping down my face and the few clothes covering my body. I dropped my phone on the way down the stairs but happened to call 911 right beforehand. Medics arrived. After about 10 minutes, they knew and I knew it was panic. I went back upstairs and started searching for every app I could think of. I found calm. I tried the first 7 days and was hooked. Some may think… well I don’t have panic or OCD. It’s not for me. It’s so much more than that. I listened to a series by Lebron James that was amazing. There are different breathing techniques and meditations for sleep, work, anxiety, movement… etc… I know I’ve said a lot and probably more than anyone needs. If I would have had the Calm app a few weeks ago during the worst panic attack of my life, I probably wouldn’t have had to call 911. At least try the trial. It’s very much worth it.

Hooked on Day 2.... This morning I woke at 4am in an unfamiliar state of presence and ‘calm’. I drank water, started reading The Power Of Now (Eckhart Tolle), and after the introduction simply knew in that presence that I wanted to say hello to me, to consciousness, to the now. I put down the book and played Day 2 - How to Meditate on this app I had just downloaded yesterday. I am now finding my Homebase, through the calming inspiration narrated by Jeff Warren, and when I opened my eyes I was filled with such peace in this moment (now 5am) that tears welled up. I embraced this expression of my self and felt pure joy. This moment demanded a review of this app that I am grateful to invest in after my 7 day trial. Everything else I enjoy about the logistics, user-friendly UI, and clean beauty of the app itself are all cherries on top of what I gained internally after only two days of meditating...breathing...feeling. Thank you, developers. I am humbly grateful for your inspirations. On that note, my one request would be to incorporate the ability to Bluetooth or google cast the sessions and what not. I’d love to play it through my tv when resting in bed or Bluetooth speaker when sitting by the pool! 🥰

Amazingg!!!!!. I never ever write reviews especially for Apple Store. Usually never worth my time, but this is the first app I’m going to give a review on. This is the best app to seriously go to sleep to. Last night was the first night I tried this and literally my wife and I passed out!! I have a very big night owl, with my sleeping schedule being so messed up I thought I was about to have to start taking sleep medication again. This app is worth the $70 a year and I’m legit day 1 into my free trial. I absolutely love it. For me to write a review and say I love this app comes to me as a big shocker. I thought it was going to be a trash app at first, but I definitely got proven wrong when one sleep soundtrack come on and I went from being so energetic to so CALM in a matter of minutes. One of the most relaxing nights I’ve had in a while and I usually toss and turn all night long and it also takes me forever to go to sleep. I am just 23 years old and I worked in so many manufacturing and labor jobs on night shift I didn’t think I would ever go to sleep as fast as this app made me.

Great app, use it every night. I love the Calm app! I stumbled upon a television commercial about it a few years ago and decided to give it a try. I have had trouble falling asleep for years, and was honestly skeptical that an app would put me to sleep. Boy was I wrong! I love the different options - sleep stories, music, meditation - each one is interesting, and while I can’t say I’ve managed to get to end of a story…well that’s the point. I’m out within five minutes. I’ve read some reviews about the expense - here’s the thing - what is your sleep and a relaxed mindset worth to you? Divide that annual cost by 365 and you’re paying a pittance for your health. Check back around the holidays - the makers of Calm run specials sometimes that make it even more worthwhile. I had just renewed my annual fee two summers ago, when an end of year special came around. It was a lifetime subscription that was going to save hundreds of dollars over the years. I knew I wouldn’t get the remainder of my annual fee (8 months left) refunded if I jumped on the lifetime subscription, but it was still worth the jump. This is a must have app. *App makers - please put the sleep check-in back! With the latest update it is gone, and it was something that really helped understanding factors that affect sleep.

The absurd paywall ruins the experience. There’s only 1 subscription option and it’s for a $70. Yes it’s for a year but we’re in a crisis right now, the bill to save people from being evicted hasn’t been signed yet still and people are still without adequate jobs especially gig workers. The current subscription offer takes advantage of this and is not the type of app I would want to use to relieve stress and anxiety as it is clearly only wants to relieve nearly empty bank accounts. What... people are supposed to decide between making you richer or being responsible for their families and paying their rent and utilities. Ppl are supposed to decide whether their emotional and mental health to ease the stress in their lives is more important than the actual issues going on. Yes some people can pay $70, either they can afford it or they’re bad at money and should be using it elsewhere. Come up with more sub options please, at least break down the $70 into manageable chunks. You could probably even charge more that way, I’m sure that would make your pockets happy.

So relaxing and amazing. I absolutely love love love this app!!!!♥️ once I could not go to sleep so I turned on some of the calm music and I fell asleep 10 minutes later. I was amazed. I have been getting better sleep since than. Also whenever I am feeling stressed or anxious about someone or something, I listen to one of the daily calms or the next day on the meditation trial. Right away it’s as if you were brought into some beautiful relaxing world where there are these voices saying “It will be ok no matter what. This will pass.” And it does its amazing how calming and peaceful this app is. Next, mood check in. The mood check in helps me express and release good and bad feelings and thoughts. Enjoy the good ones and let go of the bad ones. It even gives you a chance to write a little about them. It’s like your own personal diary, but way better. Last but definitely not least, I Believe this app can make you a better person. To be happier, to live life longer. It can be a real life changer. And just know that it’s never to late to start fresh again. It’s never to late to change yourself. But most of all, it’s never to late lo be the big change in the world, that you have wished for. And calm can help with all of that. This is a total recommendation for anyone.

I don’t feel alone. During this time of isolation due to the pandemic, my daughter suggested I download this app. She’s been using it for a while and has premium. I downloaded it and I’m using the free service for now. This usually is not my “cup of tea“ and thought I would just try it. I have had a lot of anxiety and feel isolated and alone. I signed up and they have a very nice welcome letter. I tried one of the meditations and it is current with the times, it’s very relatable and because of that it has helped a lot. When I received the second long letter which I’m sure is a form letter but very well done, it has made me feel as if I am part of a community and a family which I do not have. Thank you from the bottom my heart for this wonderful app. There are plenty of meditations to choose from when you are first starting out and don’t understand the reviews about not having free meditations. This is a great stepping stone for someone who is new to meditation and I for one am very grateful. Great app. The meditations really are working for me and I recommend this to anyone who needs a little calm in their life.

Meditation app w/ you in mind. I recommend this app to anyone looking for a meditation app. I have even given gift subscriptions to friends looking to mediate because they are so in tune with their clients needs. They are always looking at feedback, offering content to meet needs and finding things to offer I didn’t even know I wanted. The narrators are wonderful & plentiful so if one doesn’t cut it for you, you can change. There is also calming sounds, perfect sleep stories and A daily check in to see how you feel and offer suggestions on what might help. Their Master classes are great for learning things like mindful eating, better sleep, how to relax, and even improving your performance in life. All star narrators like Lebron James, Matthew McConaughey, Lucy Liu, Bindi Irwin, Bob Ross, Jerome Flynn, Leona Lewis, Jason Kidd & more read sleep stories & give advice on how to improve aspects of your life. Sabrina Carpenter & Sam Smith give music mixes to help you sleep or relax. They even have a calm body to help you wake up, warm up/cool down from your workout, reset for the afternoon and wind down for the evening. This app is for your whole body not just your mind. Keep up the amazing work Calm. This app is worth every penny.

One year, huge difference. I picked up Daily Calm after I realized my insurance had such a high mental health deductible that it would effectively never cover weekly therapy sessions. So I looked for other ways to get through a really stressful series of major life events including the death of a family member. I thought I’d try meditation. I’ve been using this app to guide short mediation sessions about an average of four times a week for over a year and it’s genuinely helped me. I can honestly say I’ve gained a life skill that I use every day even when the app is closed - closing my eyes and focusing on the breath for a few seconds even while I’m on the train or in a waiting room or about to go to an intense meeting at the office. This app isn’t the only way to gain that skill by any means, but it’s the one I picked up and it’s been pretty great. If you’re going through a hard time, the other things that have helped me the most with the depression and anxiety are gardening, hiking, in-person tabletop gaming, and cannabis microdosing. Crazy sounding combo, I realize, but I’m in *such* a better place than I was a year ago. Thanks for helping, Daily Calm.

So effective, a help in healing, in finding peace. I LOVE this ap. I had a near death experience (NDE) a little over a year ago. The emotional path that can follow was a little tough, as was seeing and feeling the imperfectness of being a human more intensely. Thanks to a few friends who had raved about meditation apps at a family reunion (not mine), I search and found this ap a few weeks after the NDE. I love the effective, short Daily Calm meditation (~10-12 minutes), so easy to fit in, so effective in creating a calming break for the mind which can bring at least a moment’s peace, and can also help bring a much longer peaceful perspective reset. There’s even a three minute emergency meditation, nighttime sleep meditations, specific areas of interest series as well as wonderful option of Master Classes. Check it out. My longest streak (it tracks this for you) was 27 day, just after the NDE, but some were just a day or two before I miss a day or two. Focusing on the breath ... your breath ... following it. So effective. And the reflections at the end, with the beautiful daily picture ... are daily gems. Thanks to Tamara Levitt, thanks to Daily Calm.

Latest layout just has so many design and access flaws. This was such a wonderful app, At some point, a year ago? they redesigned the layout and made it stressful to use. It was so simple before, you wanted a sleep story? You could scroll through every one simply and fluidly. now they are all separated, train stories from nature from featured or whatsoever and you have to spend your time searching through multiple tabs, that shudder as you scroll, not fluid anymore, the last thing you want to do when you’re looking to get to sleep. And though on each there’s a See All tab, you only see all of that category - making it really difficult to just access all sleep stories. And these sleep categories are all buried among daytime use tabs, meditations, daily get up and go stuff, mental fitness. Who thought this was a good idea?? The layout design is too specified and difficult to just go and find what you want. Also, while I’m glad there is more kid content being added for parents it would be nice if they added other stories at the same pace, and also backed off some of the more cheesy approaches to new stories that seems to have begin to pervade. Bummer when a great thing is “improved” and made far less nice.

Elegant. Useful. Compelling.. I’ve been using Calm for about two years now; It is hard to believe I’ve logged several hundred meditation sessions. My mind still wonders. A lot. AND: I’ve strengthened several key muscles: concentration, clarity, equanimity, friendliness (which I learned about from Jeff Warren’s incredible 30-day meditation course included in the app). I’ve recommended this app more than any other (I’ve tried, enjoyed, and positively reviewed several of the popular meditation apps), and I’ve heard from even occasional meditators that it has improved their skill and outlook. Another thing Jeff taught me: you don’t measure how effective/useful meditation is based on how many times your mind wanders when you sit, you look at how often and how smoothly you find yourself applying the concepts and activating the muscles you gain from sitting. The number of times I smile and notice something in a typical day is in the dozens. This app has definitely enriched my daily experience. It is worth trying, it is worth paying for, it is worth prioritizing in your life. (May you be happy; may you be strong; may you feel like you belong.)

Review of Calm. I really am indebted to Calm for working in my life during this pandemic helping me w my emotions, sleep help and maybe keeping me at a level arresting the memory decline that seemed to be coming on w it’s debilitating force. (I don’t use words like fighting it because most things should not be put into adversarial roles) I wish I had more from our guide Jeff on how to meditate. I really relate to his presentation because he seems quintessentially California to me. I’ve been meditating since I was 6 or so, brought up Vedantist Hindu, born Jewish and am now a ChristianI am an aging hippie. I meditate w my cat on my lap, I simply press my hands on her sides and she grounds me and then is the anchor; her occasionally purring. I love the pictures and the nature scenes. By the way I have been meditating every single day since November. If I might be of assistance, I’m not sure how maybe I could do a Spark or something. I wish there were Something way to dialog - I have been on the site. Maybe I could look more deeply into community of Calm. Thanks for saving my life as a process. This is one place I like to be every single day (sometimes night) contact me if you are interested in my story of success.

I think it’s wonderful. My daughter was on her computer after school one day and was searching for calming music when calm came up & she did the 7 days of anxiety day1 meditation & was so much calmer. Every scene then she has been using calm. She went through the next couple of times & each time she found a new meditation, she would do it. Then she started doing the meditation regularly & being so calm after. She even now does the 7 days of sleep meditation each night to help her sleep & has been sleeping phenomenally! She normally didn’t close her eyes during the meditations for months but she does now & is so quiet & still during the meditations & let’s nothing get in her way and distract her. She even on day did an hour of the different meditations with her dad & he loved it. She also has done nightly one with her dad & her grandma & they love it too. She is always raving about Calm so I thought I should give it 5 stars & say thank you for all the joy, peace, calmness & clarity you’ve brought to my daughter’s life and the lives of millions of others. But she does hate that the amount of meditations is so limited. Can you fix that!

Not great for the chronically ill. I downloaded this app when Apple recommended it. I have tried several guided meditation apps and am always open to the possibility of finding another one to add to my options for meditating alone. I could not open the app the first time without agreeing to be charged a subscription at the end of a one-week free trial. The app then asked me a few questions to try to determine what to recommend — how familiar I am with meditation, how often I meditate, and what I’d like to focus on in guided meditation. It then recommended I try a one-week course on stress. I figured I would give it a try, but I did not make it 60 seconds into the very first lesson before the person leading the meditation falsely claimed that a variety of physical chronic illnesses are *caused by* stress, the same utter garbage that some people claimed to me way back when I was diagnosed over 20 years ago. I immediately stopped the course but decided to try something else before giving up on the app. I tried a few of the daily meditations, but like another recent reviewer, I found the style of the person who always leads them doesn’t really mesh with my style. Then I had an anxiety attack and only later realized that I had forgotten this app was on my phone when doing things to calm myself. At that point I finally deleted it.

The navigation is worse than before not better. Impossible to give feedback on the app. I want to ask you to take out the dialog box asking me if “I’m sure?” If I have to get out my glasses to read it then I’m awake! Defeating the purpose of the app! Sometimes I want to listen again and I’m not going to do your little therapy session first. Please make it easy to listen to a story again without a lot of navigation. A good app should not require more than three steps to find things but now it is hit or miss. They eliminated some buttons so I can’t find what I want. I can’t find a favorites button anymore. The changes you made are not an improvement. There are good things here to help sleep if you can find them but by the time you do you will be wide awake. // I finally found the Favorites. You need to separate the Daily Calm Favorites from the others. It’s too many to find the stories. Like I said this App has good content but it’s badly organized// I wish you would make a text menu because with the icons it requires so much scrolling. Overall the navigation is a hassle for what should be a relaxing app.I

I like it but……….. Ok so to start off I like it but I can barely even use anything. I was trying to do the 7 day sleep meditation but I can only do the first day and I had to repeat the first day over and over and over. All because I didn’t have the premium and the premium is $70 a year. I didn’t want to get it because that would waste my money but everything is locked for premium. So here is what I am thinking that you should do I think you should make it 50/50. Like 50% of the stuff that is locked for the premium and make it not premium so it can be fair to those who don’t have the premium and to those who have it. Now let’s talk about the price we should make it reasonable enough to get and instead of $70 let’s make it 35 dollars so it can be fair and people would be happy if they had the premium or not because they get a reasonable price and they get to use many of the meditations if they have it and if they don’t. Sorry if this was confusing but I want it to be fair because the price and the amount of meditations that you can use without the premium wasn’t fair so I wanted to make it reasonable and fair. So now I want to hear what you have to say because there are many other people that might agree with me but I am wondering if you do too

Pls read. Dear calm, I have had your app since my middle school years. I’ve got to say, your app was AMAZING with 15 sleep stories and 2 and 1/2 meditations, this wasn’t a problem for me because I also use headspace. Yes, they're your competition but I wasn't choosing sides. Anyways, over time you guys added feature that you really focused on for 2 weeks at a time and just gave up on it. Next, you decreased the amount of sleep stories which was ha a huge problem for me because I was NOT getting enough sleep to keep my grades up. It got so bad that I stole my mother's phone just to sleep (she Had the Premium subscription). So I was like, ”ok, I'll just use headspace ONLY for sleep and calm for meditation. Then, you took away the 7 days of calm AKA: YOUR MAIN TRIAL AND ONLY TRIAL MEDITATION LEFT after you premiumfied the 7 days of something (forgot). I mean like BRU, I have other options. I started using headspace which is a great alternative if you don't have much money. I recommend bringing back some stuff from premium and reduce the price. To counteract this, put one 15 second ad at the beginning. Of every session of meditation for people without premium. Therefore, there is more than one reason to get it and it's CHEAPER. That's a win-win situation. I hope you come to the right decision. Whatever it is, I probably wouldn't stop using the app. Thank you for your time.

Great but needs more voices. I love this app and use it all the time. Loads of new content added constantly. The length of the meditations is perfect. I love the series like 7 days of calm, 7 days of sleep, etc. the breathing exercises are so helpful. One area for improvement would be that currently most of the meditations, especially new content, is narrated by the same woman. It would be really helpful if these same sessions were recorded with a male voice, so listeners could have an option. It would also be helpful if there were a more diverse selection of voices throughout the meditations. (This is done in the master classes and sleep stories, but I’d like to see it in the meditations too). A second area would be a review of the content of the gratitude meditations, which make assumptions and are therefore injurious for some listeners. For example I am in the middle of fighting a long term disease. Suggestions like you should be grateful for your health are not helpful and actually harmful for me. I’d really like to cultivate more gratitude but I can’t get through any of these meditations without being triggered. A review by someone working with diverse populations could help this. Other than this, I love the app. It has been designed so well and my mental health has improved dramatically since starting to use it. Highly recommended!

Great App-Needs a few little tweaks. Calm has great stories, meditations and more. I love it and have the full version. I love Anna Acton, Eric Braa, and other soothing voices. Some of them, however, are just a bit...jarring. I know everyone has different tastes but I like to listen to voices directing me during meditation or towards sleep that don’t jump out at me. Please, Calm, add more voices like Eduardo Ballerini, Ramon Tikaram, Chiké Okonkwo, May Charters and Jerome Flynn. Cillian Murphy is a great guest sleep story teller but please don’t just use celebrities because of name value. They don’t all make good storytellers/meditation guides. Some write the stories and I am grateful to those who come up with such wonderful sleep stories for adults. The ones that travel back in time, especially aboard old trains are outstanding! Just curate the voices a little better because some of us are too sensitive to the nuances of voice to listen to many of the meditations/stories. That’s kind of a waste. I end up listening to the same ones over and over. Please make the sleep stories at least 35 minutes, too. For those of us who need longer to drift away. Finally, since you are now making playlists, how about one that is just long train stories? Thanks so much!

Pretty cool app. This app was created to help people who are struggling with anxiety, daily stress, sleeping problems, or even depression. The app has many different resources and techniques given to help people. It has breathing exercises which can help people who are dealing with anxiety or stress. These breathing techniques are proven effective by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. The app has calming music to listen to while doing work or to help fall asleep. For someone who is struggling with depression the app gives many tips with the focus on mental health. These tips are how to maintain a strong mental health. I downloaded this app since I saw a lot of advertising for it. My first impressions of the app were just okay. Once I figured out how to navigate around the app and use all of the features I began to enjoy it more and more. One of my favorite features about the app is the stories to help you fall asleep. One of the parts of the app that I did not like very much is that you have to pay to get a majority of the features. Although they do have a free 7 day subscription, I feel that you need to use it longer to get a good effect from the app. Overall I think that app is pretty cool and interesting.

Grateful for this app. Over the last 5 months, I’ve been on a journey of personal growth. There was a lot that I was complacent about in life and I was tired of it. At the beginning, I had heard from my brother about meditation and all the benefits of it. I was half-invested, not sure if I believed all the claims (I hadn’t read any studies). So, I tried it a couple of times, but hadn’t had that meditation where it clicked yet. After a couple months though, I did some more research and started to meditate more regularly. While I am finally feeling more comfortable meditating alone, Calm helped guide me the entire way. There have been so many days where the messages and techniques from Calm have been extremely impactful on my life. The creators of this app did an absolutely fantastic job. And that’s not to say that the ultimate goal is to only meditate by myself. After a couple of days of mediating on my own, I love to come back to a guided session of the 21 days of calm and hear a message/lesson again. All in all, I highly recommend using Calm if you want to learn great techniques of meditation and also be inspired to improve and grow as a person.

Helping High School Students Stay CALM. I am a high school teacher at a high preforming high school in my area. My students are often so stressed out and sleep deprived I feel so helpless to help them. This year I decided to dedicate one day a week to meditating before we started class. We do this every Thursday for the first 10-15 minutes of class. The response has been so positive from my students I am thinking of doing it two days a week next year. The students LOVE Thursday!! They have told me it’s the favorite part for their week. Some students have even gotten the app for themselves. I have heard so many times this year, “I needed that!” or “I needed to hear that today.” After on session one of my boys said, “Man I was so upset about losing those 5 points on my English test and now I have let it go. This really works. What did you all think about?” You know you are doing something right when teenagers open up and start talking. Thank you for this product and allowing me the opportunity to give my students at least 15 minutes a week to destress, calm down, learn to love themselves and just breath! Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me and my students as we take this CALM journey.

Doesn’t work as well as it should for the money. I paid $70 for this thing, and the sleep feature does not work correctly for me at all! I set it for three hours usually, because I like the noise to continue until I know for sure that I have fallen asleep. It never fails that once it stops, it jars me out of sleep, assuming I have fallen asleep quickly enough. Unfortunately that’s exactly what keeps happening to me. I use this app on my iPad, and usually after the first song, if I am listening to sleep music, it completely stops playing, and then I get a message telling me that my timer ran out. Even though the timer underneath clearly shows that I have close to three hours still left on it. This literally happens almost every night so I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even try to fall asleep until at least two songs have played. I like the app otherwise, but it’s absolutely ridiculous that I have to do that after having spent so much money on this thing!! I like the sleep stories as well, but I wish there was some way to set them on repeat because I don’t always fall asleep quickly enough and I wouldn’t mind having them play multiple times.

My opinion about the calm app.. Dear-Publisher,I have had this app for year and I love it so much, it helps me a lot but I deleted the app and downloaded it back and I’m glad I did. I know you may not have the some opinion as me but I think this app is outstanding. If the creator or person that published this app sees this, I just wanna tell how thankful I am that you made this all because it helps a lot. I know that some of the stories cost money but it’s still worth downloading the app. I recommend listening to “sleep paws” and “the secret lagoon” they are both amazing bedtime stories for all ages! There is no age policy for this app if you ask me I just think that there is only one thing that could make the app better which is making the stories a lower price or just making it cost 0 dollars itself because some of the stories look very interesting but I cannot read them because I have to do a trial and that’s the reason why umm giving this app 4 starts! So if the person who published this app sees this review I just wanna say thanks for making my life so much more easier but please Mack some of the stories more reasonable of price because I have read all of the stories which are the ones that don’t cost money.

Love This App!. I am a lifelong insomniac. I spend most nights staring at the ceiling for an hour or more before I fall asleep if I do at all. This app has helped so much in getting myself into "sleep mode" and calming down & stopping my brain from rewinding the day or cycling through the next day's schedule. I occasionally listen to music but I mostly stick to the readings. My only request is to get Matthew McConaughey to do more readings! I have tried listening to others and they just don't work. I'd say my biggest complaint is they are all reading as though they are reading to an audience that's awake and aware. They are either too loud (even on the lowest setting) or reading with too much inflection which excites one rather than lulling one to sleep. MM knew his audience and his reading is in a very soft tone, his voice is calming and relaxing and he also seems to lower his voice as the story goes on, barely above a whisper by the end. All in all his is the perfect presentation and the only one I can fall asleep to! So please keep this story in rotation and if you can convince him to do more, please do! Otherwise I am content listening to the same story night after night.

Much Needed Self Care in a Pandemic World. I don’t know how I would be making it through the Covid 19 stress without this app. As someone who struggles with anxiety even in the best of times, I decided to try this app out to deal with the stress of the pandemic. I am so glad I decided to pay for full access to all of the features! I am learning how to meditate in ways that will benefit me for the rest of my life. I have recommended this app to all of my friends. The targeted sessions for different aspects of life (stress, sleep, anxiety, etc) are so helpful. There are meditations that are very short for when I need to be centered quickly to deal with a difficult situation and meditations that are longer for when I have time to do a more intensive session. A nice bonus is the relaxing music that I play while I’m working to keep a peaceful vibe throughout my work day. Unlike some meditation instructions, this app does not push any agenda that is targeted toward or against any particular faith, which I know has turned some people away from meditation apps in the past. I am so grateful for what this app has brought to my mind and spirit!

Improved over time. I want to say I tried this app back in 2015 or 2016. I took a break from it for a while after I found Insight Timer because I much preferred the content on that app (comes from thousands of creators and is free). I REALLY do not enjoy Tamara’s voice and refuse to listen to it which eliminates about 30% of the content on this app (previously her voice accounted for 90% so this is an improvement). This is what originally led me to explore other apps. They’re really beginning to expand on variety now and I don’t have to listen to that god-awful Mid-Atlantic-like accent while I’m trying to meditate or go to sleep. I love the sleep stories and my boyfriend has also grown to look forward to picking one out. One thing I noticed recently that I would like to call out to the developers was that I had turned on Jay Shetty’s sleep meditation and noticed I was able to still listen to my background music of choice from the home page. This was really really cool and something I hope I’m able to do to customize the background sounds for my other meditations. If it’s a new feature or something please continue to offer it! I like being able to choose from more than just “music” or with “rain” in the background sometimes. Thanks!

Sleep Stories are AMAZING!. This App is my absolutely favorite to use when I’m going to sleep. I got it solely for the sleep stories and I’m absolutely obsessed. It’s like being a kid again and getting a beautiful story read to you by a soothing voice. While I use the app mainly for sleep stories I’ve used the meditation, background music, and breathing exercise options on the app as well. I used to use Headspace for a lot of my meditation sessions but with Calm having so many additional features I switched over fairly quickly. The only problem I have with this app is that I can’t set up a playlist/cue of the stories I want to fall asleep to. Sometimes I can’t fall asleep right away so I have to go through the process of unlocking my phone, setting up another story, and trying to settle down once again just to set up another story to be read. It quickly becomes irritating, especially on nights when I can’t fall asleep easily and have to go through the process of setting up an additional three stories and eventually giving up in the end. So if that can somehow be added then it’ll get my full 5 stars. But having nights where I’m on and off my phone throughout the night definitely makes me feel frustrated enough to keep it at 4 stars.

Worth every penny. It almost seems like everyone in the world has anxiety and depression nowadays. I dont want another problem like addiction to drugs so I was endlessly in search of alternative help. I just want to be more in control of my emotions. Hormones play a big part in my emotions. An instance that makes me furious, sad, depressed, hopeless, and aggravated one day could be the same instance on another day and it wouldn’t bother me a bit. Due to my fluctuations in emotions due to hormone changes I didn’t want to take pill(s) daily. So I stumbled across this app and gave it a try. NEVER LOOKED BACK. It’s wonderful for stopping me in my tracks and calming me down. But you do it often and the lessons follow in your life. I love love love the coach’s voice. I am a private person and don’t share my feelings which is helpful to some, but I don’t need to when I practice with the help of this app. You can choose how much time you want to spend. A lot or a little. There’s even an “emergency calm” selection, I haven’t used but am saving it for when I need that best friend to say “everything is going to be ok!”

I need Daily Calm every day. Ever since I tried the free version of Daily Calm I knew it was exactly what I needed. I have used the premium subscription for a year now and Calm has more than met my expectations but exceeded them by far. Every morning I am in guided meditation with Tamara and then I do the gentle morning wake up stretches which have made a huge difference in the pain I used to have from my back issues. I do the chair stretches at work and the back care exercises when my lower back is hurting. I also listen to the sleep stories every night and fall asleep before half the story is over. These stories are so soothing and relaxing. And there are so many different stories and meditations to choose from. I can’t wait to delve into the talks given by experts regarding mindfulness and breaking bad habits, etc. I just wish I had more time to spend on Calm because I enjoy it so much. It has been worth every penny and i just renewed my subscription. Daily Calm is exactly what I need on a daily and nightly basis. I absolutely love it and look forward to another year with these wonderful people in this amazing app.

So helpful for tinnitus, headaches, anxiety post concussion. I’ve suffered from tinnitus (ringing in my ears), migraines, and anxiety since a concussion several years ago. I never pay for apps, but the Calm App is so helpful that, after paying for 1 year, I’ve decided to pay for a lifetime membership. I love that I can choose to listen to a male, as many female voices increase my symptoms. It’s wonderful to have such a vast choice of categories to turn to. I love the 4 to 7 day training sessions for things like decreasing pain, decreasing anxiety, decreasing headaches, and falling asleep. When my tinnitus is bad, I use one of the sleep meditations to help overpower the sound and allow ne to fall asleep. When I have a headache, I lie down and listen to a calming meditation, and the headache resolves, or at least decreases. These guided meditations really help soothe my anxiety. The different daily meditations help teach what to do for various issues, and you can save the ones you especially like. I highly recommend the 30 day Intro to Meditating, as it helps you become adept at meditation. This app is so worth getting!

Love the app just one recommendation!. There’s so much to this app there’s bed time stories, breathing exercises, music, sessions to help relax, meditate, and help u sleep, there’s also (one of my favorites) where u can have a calming background when on or off your phone, they have quotes to help motivate you, there’s daily check in’s you can do, you can set timers and reminders for things and so much more! There is a free app trial but you do have to pay after the trial ends but I think in my opinion it’s worth buying the app! My one recommendation though is that I think the calm app should add some more journaling to the app something more than the check ins because I think journaling is a great way to help you feel your releasing your past or just writing how happy you are if that makes sense plus if it’s not to much maybe add something to remind you to get off your phone and go outside or do some focusing hour on school work or something like that. Overall the calm app is a great app and I totally recommend if you have anxiety, or are having trouble sleeping! -if your reading this have a good day/night/rest of your day/night!

Life changing. I found this app because someone I know recommend I try it for the sleep stories. I’m a very busy person and my mind tends to race and sometimes I just can’t turn it off when I’m trying to sleep or relax. I tried one of the free sleep stories and I sacked out pretty quickly. I also tried the free background soundtracks and music when I was trying to concentrate. All worth the price of free admission. But then I tried the mediation. I’d always thought of meditation as new age mumbo jumbo. But many of the smartest people I know all have stories about when they started doing it and how it changed their life. So on a uncharacteristically unbusy Saturday I decided to try the meditation course. And now I realize how simple and profound it all is. It’s essentially just having then skill to not let your thoughts control how you feel. Not letting your emotions get the best of you. Once you can control your impulses, you are a different person. It’s really life changing. This course starts slow and you can see real benefits after a week or so. I know have my own story about when I started meditation and when my life changed for the better.

FRAUD! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!. The offer a 7 day FREE Trial and then auto bill your credit card thereafter. A friend was gracious enough to purchase me a 1 year gift certificate to the program; however, when I signed up, the app would not accept my gift certificate info and stated I would be billed on my credit card after the free trial was up. I have attempted for HOURS to go into the app to cancel the premium subscription and to also delete my account. The app just takes you in circles and gives you no avenue to cancel. When I try to delete my account, I get an error stating I have to cancel my subscription first, which the app will not allow me to do. I have also tried deleting my credit card info from my phone in settings and removing the app subscription that way and it does not work either. I ultimately had to cancel my credit card and have it reissued to prevent the auto charge subscription from taking place and now am without my credit card for several days. I did not want to wait for the charge to go through and then have to wait 90 days for me to get the charge deleted/reversed. This practice with the developers to make it impossible to cancel is shady.. they also do not provide any contact customer service email or phone number to contact to cancel or address billing concerns.

Unhappy customer 😠😤🤬. If I could leave 0 * I would!! I downloaded this app to try it out, didn’t even end up using it during the 3 free day trial I was given. Tried deleting it and canceling so I wouldn’t be charged the $70 and it would t allow me to. I have tried canceling with no progress, I’ve also tried to get ahold of the app developer and Apple as well to cancel the charge beforehand and no luck. Now I got charged from my bank and also a $30 charge because their wasn’t enough to cover from the account I have set up for t Apple account. I am now trying to figure out how to cancel and delete the app I i won’t be charged next year, because it says my trial is good til November 12, 2020 and I didn’t want it this time much less next year so now I’m trapped. This is the last thing I thought I could do, maybe the calm app will see this review and answer me back! I am not happy!!! And now I have been charged $70 for an app I do NOT want or need and not to mention the $30 over draft fee from my bank. 😡😡😤🤬 I do NOT want this app and DO NOT want to be charged again in a year. The only thing it seems to allow me to do is change the trial to a lesser anoint or an extra amount for next years after the November 12th trial is over but would not and still will not let me cancel or edit anything. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS MESS!! —signed an UNHAPPY customer 😡

App is in accessible for blind user, buttons unlabeled. Hello, I really like the content on your app and it has really helped me to develop my practice. However because of the issues described in the title I probably will no longer subscribe to calm next year. I am blind, and use the screen reader voiceover. I can play the videos for the content well enough with play pause, fastforward but the biggest barrier I am facing is that the mountains which you tap on in the for you tab to bring up the settings are unlabeled. I was trying to turn off the babbling Brook sound, accessible apps need to have text labels to accompany any clickable items. I would love to resubscribe once you have resolved these issues, buttons for the mood check-in feature are also unlabeled or nonexistent. The box breathing technique does not speak anything aloud or refresh on its own. A better way to accomplish that might be to use a metronome with 44 times signature. I am happy to speak to a developer more about my feedback and suggestions for how to resolve these issues, but I think that especially since healthcare providers are starting to recommend your service to their users, many of them who use Medicaid and Medicare and are disabled the app absolutely should be more accessible. Thank you for your timely consideration and namaste. I look forward to working with you in making the meditation community more inclusive.

Well worth the money. This app is a must-have for everybody. Firstly, I love the student discount they offer. The regular subscription is a bit pricy for me currently as a college student but the student discount makes helpful mindfulness tools accessible to stressed college students. The app contains incredibly helpful grounding techniques, guided meditations, and breathing exercises. With anxiety especially, sometimes the physical symptoms can worsen the psychological symptoms. It’s very beneficial to be able to focus your attention on how you’re presently feeling, how slowly you’re breathing to help calm yourself down. I really love using the check-in tools in the mornings and before bed, to track how I’ve been feeling over a span of time. It makes it easier to tell my psychiatrist and therapist how I’ve been feeling and for how long. I also love the sleep stories and soundscape features to help me sleep. Sometimes with my anxiety, laying in bed in silence with my thoughts keeps me awake for hours after getting ready for sleep. It’s helpful to have a relaxing neutral stimulus to focus my attention on rather than my thoughts. All in all, a very useful app with plenty of tools.

𝔸 𝕗𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕒𝕕𝕕𝕖𝕕. Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity among stays. It's a good idea. But it's not necessary. If your app is a voice-over, then you should use the same pitch as the voice, or even a lower one. The same goes for the text. A Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity. Felix gets a load of support. If Felix's voice can help a 10 year old with autism calm down, it can help your users too. So it's good to have him. You can even add a Felix to your text messages if it helps your customers. This is an excellent idea and one that I've seen in a few places. I like this idea, because Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity. Felix gets a load of support. If Felix's voice can help a 10 year old with autism calm down, it can help your users too. We have a ton of users that love Felix. His voice is amazing. That's why we'll be adding him to the list. Maybe you want to add Felix because he has this video series that is intended for people who can’t sleep.

Needs a night shift worker version. Night shift nurse here! My first year as a nurse has lead to high anxiety and stress levels. My therapist recommended this app for mindful meditation and I’m enjoying it so far. I find Tamara’s voice very soothing—not annoying, and the soundscapes in the background are perfect. It would be nice if there was a setting or a collection of audios for those who work nights and therefore sleep in the day time. It can be hard to sleep with all the noises of day (lawn mowers, car horns, noisy neighbors, etc.) It would also be nice if the daily check ins could take this into consideration as well—when I meditate in the morning after I get off work, the question is “how did you sleep last night?” Well I worked last night so that doesn’t apply. As far as the $70/year, this is affordable for me but I realize that isn’t the case for everyone—especially in this economy. I definitely couldn’t have paid for this in college, maybe the developers should consider a discount for college students, teachers, etc. Access to mental health resources should ideally be available to all regardless of financial situation.

It will help you through sleepless nights - worth the annual membership. I originally received a Calm membership for a year through Verizon and mostly knew it as a meditation app. I would probably give the meditation side of the app 3 stars. It has variety and guided options but if you are a meditator, it isn’t very helpful. The search feature also isn’t useful. I look for sound meditation with chimes at various times depending on how long I would like to meditate. And if I want a guided meditation, I want to be able to search by length, not topic. But all that being said, the sleep story side of this app is 5 stars. It has saved me from sleepless nights and eased me back to sleep when I’ve woken in the night due to anxiety and illness. While I don’t use it every night, when I do, I am asleep within minutes. On nights when I’m having a hard time sleeping, one to two will ease me to sleep. There’s great variety from fiction to nonfiction, different types of narrators, and different journeys from walking through a bookstore to riding a train to taking a trip to space. I highly recommend the paid version for these sleep stories. I’ve even enjoyed some of the children’s versions!

LISTEN. I really like your sleep story’s everyone I started I’ve been at least getting to fall asleep faster but I know you can’t do much about this but I just can stand the guy who is in most of the story’s I want to read, his name is Alan sklar or something like that and some other boys I can’t remember the names of I just want to tell you so maybe you could make most of them girls because I think they have a more smooth voice witch in Science is proven to be better to listen to at night and it soothes people to listen to witch in most cases reacts to better sleep including me but in all I think you app is helping millions in ways you can’t imagine better sleep can help with better minds you could save lives if they have better minds they can think before they end there life sleep is extremely important all you need to do now Is get a good add that will intrigue people that need help and they won’t just turn the volume down on the adds they will listen. Please take this into consideration I’ve already lost someone to choice of death you could save people from that. Yes it might seem impossible Just TRY.

My doctor recommended it to me and I love it. I’ve always struggled with anxiety and not being able to calm down. All of the features which this app has to offer really help me when I’m studying (I like having soundscapes or music on), relaxing (breathing exercises or meditation), and getting ready for bed (sleep stories and body scans). It is so worth it to pay for the subscription, and even before I paid for the subscription (my doctor recommended the app to me not knowing I had the free version of it for about 3 years already) there was a lot of content available. I love the calendar features as well, and the check-ins are a great way for me to reflect on my day and practice gratitude. One suggestion I have though are podcasts! I like to listen to people talking about any subject while I’m doing tasks around the house or just trying to sleep (sometimes the silence is a lot and I can’t focus on sleeping with my thoughts). If you guys made some soft spoken or any kind of podcast in which there wasn’t a lot of yelling and loud talking, I’d totally listen in. (I know there are some masterclasses and lesson type things available on the app already, but they’re just not podcasts)

Gentle boot camp for the mind. Plenty of people run or go to boot camp classes for the sake of their mind... a great way to empty the head and sleep well that night. While that’s great (for body and mind) it’s incredibly valuable to be able to create calm and quiet within yourself wherever you are - at work, on a bus, anywhere. Calm has great daily meditations to help us learn to do that, in a way anyone can do (my 3 & 6 year olds love some of the sleep stories and meditations too). There's lots included in the free version, and a heaps if you subscribe (including walking meditations, Masterclasses on breaking habits and anxiety other great topics). I now wonder what took me so long to properly try meditation and why so many people I know don’t find 10 minutes or so to fit it into their day/week!

Life changing. I have tried several meditation apps & podcasts over the years, and Calm is definitely the best. The premium version is very good value - even better if you can get a discount. In addition to the Daily Calm sessions, new content added regularly including sleep stories, meditation series, and soundscapes. The large number of narrators is also a bonus. As the content grows, I would like to suggest some additional features to improve the UE. A one sentence description for each session would make it easier to select content that’s most relevant to you, and a bulk edit feature would be useful for the favourites collection as this can become so large over time it’s not useful anymore. I would also like to see some more subscription options introduced eg one just for kids, and one for families. One thing I have noticed, is that promotions for certain narrators don’t always live up to expectations. They may only narrate one Sleep Story & some I haven’t been able to find at all - not sure if this is because of user error or there are different versions of the app in different countries.

Enlightening. This sort of thing has never been me. Never! However, lately I’ve encountered a lot of extra stress and there was a weight that was pushing me down in to places I didn’t want to be. I don’t know how I heard about this app or why I thought to try it yesterday but I downloaded the it and after only two days of using it, I feel different. It’s not all the time, of course, just while I’m listening to the sessions for now, but I truly feel this could change things for me. It’s accessible, easy to use and has so many different features and options I feel like it will be a daily escape. Amazing 😌

LOVE CALM.. I love CALM. There is such a choice of meditations & every sort of help you need in this world - you feel it’s just for you. You can choose what you want to listen to & enjoy - meditation, music, guidance, going for a walk meditation, breathing exercises, body exercises to relax or sleep stories & meditations to help you sleep. A terrific choice of narrators & guest instructors that will amaze you. It’s a wonderful app and there are even meditations for kids. You can check in with how you feel in a day and it will suggest meditations to help. You can walk away for a week and come back to it without a problem. I just love CALM & can recommend it to anyone.

The best app I own. I’ve suffered from depression anxiety insomnia substance abuse etc etc. medication didn’t work, and a constant sense of disconnection with the world around me made things sometimes feel unbearable. Until someone recommended this app. I can’t even start to describe what difference it’s made to my life, my self love, and the way I see life & my new found gratitude for it. Simple ten minutes a Day has made a world of change. I’m able to not only cope with distressing moments that is life sometimes, but I literally look forward to learning something new everyday and to see things more lovingly and beautifully. Thanks for your soothing voices Tamara and M. McConaughey 👌💕

Deceptive subscription deletion. I am trying to unsubscribe from this app and I keep getting sent to Apple and then back to Calm. There is no option for subscription cancellation in any of the pages that I keep getting sent to. One should be allowed to cancel a subscription in ones personal app profile in Apple subscriptions found in Settings but there is no option anywhere for this app (note: all other apps have the ‘Cancel Subscription’ option). I then tried the Apple App option to unsubscribe and again no ‘Cancel Subscription ’ option for this app ( again...all other apps had the ‘Cancel Subscription’ option). I then went through the Apple ‘ how to subscribe option and it sent me back to the same pages. Soooo frustrating! I then went through the Calm website. The same NO CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION option! ARGGGG! It is very deceptive and although I really like the app and was initially just checking out my cancellation options, the fact that there is no option to unsubscribe makes me want to completely delete this app and never use it again! Now I am super annoyed! Badly done and is counterproductive to the image of calmness you create with this app. Very disappointed and extremely frustrated that I have no way of unsubscribing! Make the CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION option available in the settings function!

The usual trial trick. Is Calm any good? Maybe. But how to find out? The amount of free content to test it out is absolutely TINY and actually finding out what’s available is made as difficult as possible. You’ll just see padlock symbols everywhere. Because they’re trying to push you into the 7-day “free trial”. But yes, it’s one of those “trials” where, if you neglect to do anything (and from the website, you’ll need to react in 6 days not 7), it will automatically roll over into a free subscription. It’s just amazing how many companies seem to think this sort of tactic is ethically justifiable. I’m not remotely against trial periods, but a far better approach is to prompt you at the end of the trial that you need to pay to continue, NOT rely on your inertia or forgetfulness. As things stand, though, this is just another company trying to push me towards buying a product without letting me get a good look at what’s on offer. And that’s just a turn-off.

More premium payment options needed. I love the Calm app. It is well designed and succeeds in it’s mission of slowing down the user. The reason for missing a fifth star is the payment options. You only have one if you want to unlock premium content and it’s $60 for a year which will automatically renew if you don’t cancel it in a years time just before it is debited again. It feels slightly underhanded given that unless you set a reminder most people would forget this. Also, rather than commit to $60 I’d rather commit to a month at a time or 3 month options. This would most likely lead to more people purchasing premium content.

AMAZING. I use this app when I’m feeling particularly anxious and having a rough time getting to sleep and I can not tell you just how wonderful it is! It has many features that just make the app so easy and stress free to use for example I love that you can have a background sound going (for example rain) and be able to still turn your phone off and the sound carries on! (Some apps the sound turns off when you turn your phone off making it hard to use if you want it while your trying to sleep) There is a large selection of sounds to be able to choose from and not have to pay it’s just great I can’t tell you the amount of times it’s helped me :))

This will help you reclaim your mind. In our busy lives and days in the modern world we are losing more of how to be connected with ourselves. This is fundamental for sanity and health and to live more meaningful lives. It is not something you can do on your own as we need to learn how to reclaim our minds and bodies. I am blown away by the knowledge and quality contained in this app. I tell everyone about it. It is far too underestimated. How I feel every morning after using this changes the pace of my day, how I engage with my family and how I see myself.

From anxiety, stress and overwhelm to calm and in control of life again!. After being ill for quite some time and busy with young children and life in general, I fell into a big hole of anxiety, stress and overwhelm. I constantly felt like I was too tired, too busy and too overwhelmed with everything I had to get done from day to day. I wasn't getting much done at all! Calm has helped me to slowly regain control of my life and climb out of that hole. I feel calmer, more in control and able to tackle any issues that pop up in life. Tamara's voice is perfect to listen to in the morning! Absolutely love the Calm app!!

Awesome!! 👏. Well, I’ve been using the premium version for about ten months - a year and trust me, it’s worth the money. This is an awesome way to earn money. To all those people who want to create apps and get money from it, this is exactly how. And also, the girl named Tamara, (sorry I forgot your sername) you really inspire me to create story’s because just the way you do it is incredible, I really love this app. When ever you feeling like this 😔, this app will make you feel like all of these 😁😌💁‍♀️🙃😉😋😜🤗👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻, trust me. GET THIS APP, YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!! P.S. If you are an app developer 👩‍💻 please reply to this... 😊😋😁😻😄👍👍👍you guys hv potential

Transformative. I had investigated meditation and other peace of mind avenues a little, but never consistently or with results. Giving the trial a go I had no hesitation signing up at the end. I have had struggles with mental health for many years and a lifelong goal has been to ‘get some of that peace of mind I hear so much about’. I haven’t got there, because it’s not a destination. However, I have greatly improved in many areas of my life. I am less stressed or anxious, have better insight into myself and others, increased confidence and focus. Most importantly I have a lifelong tool for dealing with anything and for bringing balance and joy. It took me some time, but I have also made use of Calms many avenues beyond meditation. From sleep and mood check ins, to music for study and sleep stories (yes, they work, they don’t keep you up). Not using any social media, generally keeping away from my phone as much as possible. Calm is the one thing I use every day. I’m currently less than 20 days away from a year long streak of daily meditation. This app is brilliant, worth every cent and more. Thank you to everyone who helps it to be what it is.

PREMIUM. I feel like a lot of apps have premium, and that really annoys me ... if people pay - they get more advantages and things for them. I think that if you’re a kid then getting premium is not an option. Parents might be able to pay for their kids premium, but usually don’t. Children can’t pay money (especially if they’re around the age 6+). This app is premium inside out for some of it ... for your sleep/bedtime stories - only have a few stories and all the other ones are locked. Having premium is an advantage that is awesome and you get to have great stuff! But if you can’t pay and have premium on your app, there aren’t many things you can do (this app is pretty big on PREMIUM) P.S. Sorry if I say premium a lot (there isn’t any synonyms that would really fit in).

Life changing - busy Corporate Sales Executive. I have a type-A personality, who is a high achieving corporate sales executive. I'm also a parent of a child with special needs so life is very busy. In 2014, when work and family life did not shape up the way I had planned, I reached the lowest point of my life. I wasn't able to sleep and couldn't function normally. I was frequently forgetful (e.g. did if I off the lights 2 minutes ago?), was diagnosed with anxiety and and my ability to think and process ideas slowed down considerably. I took half a year off work, visited countless doctors and psychologists and consumed anti-anxiety vitamins. This helped me get back to work, but the side effects of the vitamins, primarily memory impairment, was unbearable. Seeking natural remedies for a solution, I turned to meditation. I was referred to Calm by one of my doctors. After 6 months of meditating twice a day with Calm, I no longer take any anti-anxiety vitamins, I'm on top of my career and I'm present when I'm spending time with family. My sincerest thanks to Tamara Levitt and her team. You've definitely changed my life and I'm very thankful.

Zennnn. I used to do meditation all the time before bed but stopped doing it because I found it just wasn’t helping anymore. With my anxiety back in action, I’ve been desperate for some relief and needed to start practising mindfulness again. I kept seeing the Calm app pop up on social media so I finally gave it a shot and honestly it’s best app there is. Even just the background scene sounds helps bring my anxiety down and I can listen to it whenever I need to and people will just think that I’m listening to some catchy tunes, even at work. I just completed the first stage of the 7 days of calm meditation and it helped me so much like holy moly. As soon as my pay comes through, the first thing I’m doing is purchasing the premium app. Gonna get that zennnn!

Life changing. This app is fabulous. I was using it every night to help me get to sleep and stay asleep. I work long hours and find it hard to stop my brain from jumping around when I finally get to bed. I now put on a sleep story as soon as I go to bed and have NEVER heard the end of a story! I have my favourite narrators who’s voices lull me into a deep sleep within minutes. New stories are being added regularly too. I think this app has helped me get into better sleep routines and find that I don’t need it as often anymore. I’m now trying the meditation lessons. Keep up the great work Calm!

Worth the lifetime subscription. I haven’t missed a single night since starting my subscription, so a year in I decided to go with the offer on lifetime. I enjoy Tamara Levitt and her Daily Calm, though I suspect these are now repeats from last year - a few things are familiar. I could be wrong. I did many rounds of Tamara’s 7 days of sleep - a worthwhile course for insomniacs. Really enjoying Jeff Warren and the Daily Trip - he has a wonderful spirit and makes me laugh a lot. A very experienced meditator who can break it down into wonderful simple elements, and can make you feel like you are an equal with him. My night wouldn’t be complete without Oren Jay Sofer’s Deep Rest which usually gets me off to sleep. On the odd occasion I am still awake I will tune into some sleep inducing music. Sometimes I find the interface frustratingly slow, but maybe that’s the point? I have found Calm to be well worth the money with such a wide variety of options - always something new, but also many old faithful offerings as well. A great app, frequently introducing fresh content. Not enough hours in the day to benefit from all of it, but benefit I do. Peace and love meditators.

Calm is life changing. I’ve been using Calm on and off for the better part of 3-4 years now. Every time I return to it, I feel better, my focus is stronger, my relationships improve, and I’m more at ease. The ever growing library of meditations is great for learning new methods. I use the sleep stories and songs at bedtime, and the focus and calming music at various times of day. Loving the daily move and gentle physical exercises too from daily move. I occasionally also use the mindful walking on the Apple Watch too which has given me new perspectives and awoken me to my surroundings. I can’t speak highly enough of this app.

I love this app, it really helps me fall asleep. As someone who has struggled for years to get my brain to slow down at night and stop overthinking so I could fall asleep this app have been life changing. I listen to a sleep story every night and I find a deep voice calming. My favourite narrator is Eric Braa especially his train stories as he has a lovely deep calming voice. Stephen Lyon and Laura Dern are also great. As an avid reader ‘into the library’ read by Diveen Henry which takes you through the Oxford University Library always makes me fall asleep with a smile on my face. There are some great celebrity narrators as well and other narrators with more high pitched voices if that’s your thing. This app helps me fall asleep so well I always fall asleep before the end so I have no idea how they end! Highly recommended.

I don’t believe all these 5 star reviews are genuine. I can’t comment on the apps actual value when you pay, but here is my experience with the free version. I rarely ever review anything unless I am really happy or annoyed. Another sucker you in for a subscription error. Save your cash, download some nature sounds or use free guided meditation podcast. My problem with this app is its billing approach ethics and upfront pricing transparency Ok here’s the true deal with loading this app and what you are not told until you’ve wasted heaps of time. Firstly it’s not “truly” free and by the time you have worked this out you are probably in “lifetime email SPAM circle” you can’t get out from. Caveat Emptor - more junk email 1 - You get suckered in to giving them your emai and you get almost nothing of worth for it. Now you’ll be spammed forever 2 - You are then invited to a free 7 day where you give them billing details and that’s it - 7 days free and then you are smacked so make sure you are on top of it. 3 - Here’s what got up my nose. I get an email from them. I reply to the email telling them I am between jobs, can’t afford the app and would like to be removed from their mailing list. What to I get an automated response - go to Q&A section. Now I can expect “Calm” SPAM forever.

Stupidity is a crime. I don't usually write a review, and this is not exactly a review about Calm (it's a fabulous app, by the way!) - I just wanted to address all these dumb people who gave Calm one star because the app charged them after the end of the free trial. Well HELLO, that's clearly stated on the app listing (see above - go on, scroll up) and also BEFORE you click on the 'Start free trial' button. You got charged for downloading the app? Oh come on, that's not true. It's free to download the app, but if you choose to do the free 7-day trial, it's clearly stated that you need to cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period. You don't know how to cancel? That's your fault, not this app's. Here, let me help you: go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > click on your Apple ID at the top > View Apple ID > Log in > Subscription > Choose the app subscription you want to cancel > Cancel Subscription. You're welcome.

Truly helpful!. I have using this app, only a couple of months. For a while, I was not consistent. Each day, I listening to the Daily Calm, sometimes the sleep stories, and listen to the Masterclasses provided, I understand and appreciate more. The nuances come, by being consistent, which would seem obvious. It takes practice to understand and enjoy those nuances. The difference it makes? Better focus, easier to calm and centre myself, sleep better, and the list continues to grow. Thank you so very much, for the work, which happens here. There is magic in that, you just need to turn, to be curious. This time, curiosity is rewarded.

Your not taking my money. Looking at free trial, let around app had to give email, create password. Then told I’d joined and paying yearly subscription. I did not agree to join did not want to join. No where to contact to cancel or opt out. Emailed 5 times to stop this process. Had wrong email Address on app under “support” never went through. A sham A mess. Don’t go nest this app. A con to take your money without your permission. I stipulated that Calm was Is not to take money from my bank account. They do not have my convent to do that. I spent 2 hrs on this mess this morning only to end up having anxiety attach & needing to go to Doctor. My Mental Health has taken a battening trying to get rid of Calm who have made it nest impossible. I wrote I CANCEL OPY OUT & STOP. Haven’t heard s thing. Shocking app. Don’t go near. Vicki Now again I can’t seem to send. What a joke and a disgrace.

Worth the money. I gave this app a try about 6 months ago when my work routine completely changed, and I needed to start work at 3am rather than 3pm. I was struggling with anxiety alot and this helped more than I could have imagined. It’s not just calming, if I use when i go to bed, theres only been two times I haven’t fallen asleep before the end of the Daily Calm. Tamara Levitts voice is so soothing and genuine, I really like the guided breathing, and sometimes I use the sleep stories too. Tbh there is alot more features to the app than I even use and its still worth it to me. Everyone who is crying about $80 for a whole year of using this app, must have never really felt true anxiety or chronic sleep difficulties... you would pay it for one night of peace sometimes. It only seems like alot of money when there’s so many free apps available, but you have to consider what you’re getting in return. It’s well worth it.

App crashes and wigs out strangely. Who doesn’t want to be calm? This app has beautiful aesthetics and quality content, but when it shuts down in the middle of a meditation or sleep story all calm goes out the window. It also has the ability to play multiple content at once so if the screen gets touched accidentally you can have several things playing at once but no interface to turn each one off so you have to shut the whole app down and start over which takes time and patience. The sleep stories are my favourite thing about this app. I listen to them in the day too because I need something beautiful to listen to but they can randomly stop and crash the app too. Something about the music section too doesn’t play seemlessly and can get stuck and either shut down or just pause itself. I really hope these bugs can be transformed so I can truely enjoy the use and benefits of this app because there are many.

The pros and cons about Calm.. Calm is a good service to help people sleep, calm down or express their feelings about something instead of keeping it bottled up. I enjoy calms sleep story’s but I wish they had more on Asia as I enjoyed the sleep story about Chinese New Year. The range of sleep story’s is wide. One of my favourite things about calm is that and can do daily check-ins as sometimes nobody’s their to check in on me personally. One thing I dislike is how addictive the check in streak is and I get overwhelmed when I miss a day. As a person with extreme anxiety and terrible sleep and emotion habits I find this app very useful. One thing if recommend to fix is when you use all the icons on top for the daily check in is that you can’t see your writing. I’d also recommend a larger Halloween collection for holidays like holi maybe. Thanks for reading if you got this far! -Mae, 11 years old and a user of calm for about 3-4 years.

Better sleep, better mental health, excellent content quality.. This is the only subscription app I pay for. Willingly. I *love* that the speakers talk in normal voices. I've listened to a lot of guided relaxation type things and I hate w h e n s p e a k e r s d r a g o u t w o r d s. Or have reverb behind them. It makes me angry, not relaxed. In the Calm app the speakers just talk like normal, calm, people. Last night I was highly stressed, I used the 10 minute 'emergency calm' meditation and it worked. Instead of spiralling I became calm enough to fall asleep. The only negative is that the meditations tend to be very general. I wish they'd do a range for serious specific problems such as chronic or terminal illness, disabilities, suffering bullying/violence, in an identity crisis etc. ---------------- I spend more than $60US a year (the subscription fee for this app) on medication to help me sleep. This app saves me money by helping me to fall asleep without medication. I've also been using the meditations to help with my anxiety as I will soon be going off my anti-anxiety medication (which hasn't been helping much, anyway). I particularly love the story about sheep. Stephen Lyons and Alan Sklar have such soothing voices, I hope they do some more stories soon.

Good review. To bad it isn’t free. If there wasn’t a membership needed to get to all of the experiences, I would use this app much more then I already do. I only just got the app but so far (other then the money wanting) it is a good journey. Maybe include more rain and water sound tracks. Also maybe a choice between male and female voices for each sound track. It then gives an option, I prefer the different voices for different sound tracks. Another opinion is that there could be a space for sound tracks listening at the moment. Because I can’t find the ones I’m listening to. I have to keep restating different ones haha. Good luck and good job!!

Helps me sleep. I have a lot of issues settling down and the sleep stories really help me relax. I really enjoy the voices of Tamara and Anna. I received 4* as I receive audio crackling through my speaker on just this app. I have played many other apps through my speaker and not have this happen. This is a daily occurrence with calm. I am unsure if this is a common or known issue. Additionally, having more subscription options will be very beneficial instead of committing to a 1 year subscription. I am lucky enough to make adequate money to be able to subscribe. I hope that I’ll receive a prompt reminding when my subscription is almost over instead of having it automatically debited from my account.

Message to the calm producers - check with your users. First of all, I do love calm. I use it nearly every night for sleep stories and occasionally for meditation. BUT, I really do not love their September/Octoberish 2021 upgrade. They’ve basically made it incredibly hard to get to the content that I love and pay for. Prior to this, there was a little section that basically suggested a daily meditation, a daily something I’ve forgotten, and a daily sleep story. If you didn’t like that one, you could go and look for another one. That part is still there for meditations, but the sleep story part is gone. I’ve asked others who I know use calm, and they all used it and are disappointed it has gone. It’s so much harder to find a story now, and not just listen to the same one constantly. I recognise that it could just be me, but it makes me so frustrated every night, which is kinda counter productive. Please calm, may we have our daily, home page, recommended sleep story back?

It used to be a great app. I loved this app. I used it everyday for years. It helped me with my PTSD, my depression and anxiety. It helped me to fall asleep when my memories were wreaking havoc and it helped me stay grounded during moments of flashbacks. But I am so disappointed to find out the new limitations. You used to be able to access so much more for free but all apps these days are asking you to pay ridiculous prices. As someone who is a full time university student, part time aged care worker working shift work to make ends meet, living out of home and with an assistance dog and therapy, these prices are unaffordable. I use to recommend this app but I will not anymore. If you’re going to promote wellbeing, happiness and better mental health by using this app - don’t make it so expensive You are now stating to people ‘if you want to live a better life and reduce anxiety then you better have money to pay for it.’ You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves.

Add more stories to the kids. Why aren’t you adding stories to the kids section? I’m a single mother and my kids have a terrible case of insomnia. I always see you adding stories to the adults but why not the kids this makes bedtime a struggle to the point where I can’t sleep until they sleep just I can’t even like I see you uploading three times a week to the adult but never the kids they only get the single story once a month maybe not even maybe once every three months I’m just so sick of it. Please make my life easier. Just add more like it’s not that hard maybe if it is it’s certainly not hotter than the adult so I don’t know why you can’t do it, but you certainly should just please take my comment into consideration. It’s even a chance that you’ll see this, but I just want you to know. that kids are depending on you. i’m not hating on the app. I think it’s a great app. My kids used to fall asleep to it until we ran into this problem. That’s why I wrote you two stars. I was going to write you one but you generally are good and if you see this comment, you should have the heart to change your ways.

Better than any medication. I've been listening to calm for many years now. Initially being Australian I was concerned it not being in my native accent and it would be difficult to listen to but I have to say I only need to hear Tamara Levitt's voice and I feel soothed. For an anxious person, who has suffered insomnia adding this to my toolbox has been the greatest gift. I love everything about it, sleep stories, calm body, daily calm, masterclasses. My favourite way to start my day is to 'meet up' with Christy-Ann and do get morning wake up and stretch 💕 Thank you CALM 💗 can't recommend it enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Where did the breathe feature go?. Haven’t used this app in a few years but I opened it recently after a hard day and was expecting it to still open to the breathe circle like it used to, but now it doesn’t even seem to be a feature at all? Super disappointed. It helped me get myself through some really hard times and it seemed like such a simple feature to keep in the free version. It was a circle with points marked along it and a circle that would move along the perimeter, and you would breathe in until point 1, hold til point 2, breathe out til it got to the top again. It also had sounds that would build and shift with each stage so you wouldn’t need to look at the screen. It was great and I think it should be restored as a core feature of the free version.

The Best App Ever - Absolutely❣️. This app has the potential to be life changing, particularly if you can’t sleep, suffer from anxiety, find it difficult to relax Etc..because it helps with so many of these ‘issues’. The ‘sleep stories’ help to soothe an agitated mind, you can use it to meditate or simply to just listen to the music or sounds if you want to relax or focus. The app itself is very easy & intuitive to use, beautiful to look at and totally reliable❣️ I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who needs/wants to feel calm, focussed, soothed or uplifted. The next time I pay for its renewal, I will elect for the ‘lifetime use’ option and not just the yearly renewal amount - it’s that good. I know, that I want to use it always❣️ I have never written a review for an app before where I have been so positive however, when you find something so good 😊 I really believe it’s important to give ‘credit where credit is due’. The developers of this app have obviously spent much time, trouble, money and effort in producing and providing such a quality product, it’s good to let others know about it❣️ I am not an affiliate or anything and am not getting paid in any way for providing this review. I hope, you enjoy using it as much as I have❣️ Annette:))

Interface too complex to use. This used to be my favourite app, but each time it updates the interface gets harder and more challenging to use. It is not user friendly any more and it constantly changes. All of the key features used to be super easy to go to, but now just to get to ‘sleep stories’ for instance me you have to click multiple buttons that aren’t that descriptive to begin with. What happened to simple easy to use interfaces??? Why does everything have to get infinitely more challenging to use. Let alone how difficult this new interface would be for someone with a disability. Shocking. Really unfortunate that this app has gone this way. Unfriendly to the everyday user. App was much better a year ago.

Wow. Hi I’m a year 7 student, who has experienced many issues in the year of 2019, this year my parents split witch caused a lot of family problems and anxiety. Shortly after this my grand farther had a stroke and is now lying on his death bed. And of cause this created lots of anxiety witch then created sleep problems. My therapist then showed me calm, I downloaded it but never actually opened the app. Later I wasn’t sleeping at night so I remembered her words and tried the app. After doing that I admittedly paid for the the subscription and now use it every night witch helps me fall asleep with a full 9 hours of sleep instead of 4-3 with waking up constantly with anxiety. Thx calm!!!!! Amazing app recommended.

Not great but not the worst.. A weeks free trial and then auto subscription? Even by sidestepping the subscription I still feel that 95% of the app is hidden within the subscribed and premium versions, I thought I would give it a go since it’s advertising algorithm was smashing my socials and i was looking for anyway to help myself relax and control my anxiety while looking increasing my average and broken 4-5 hrs sleep per night. Quit disappointed as after a good 15minutes of diving in and rummaging around I was only able to listen to 1 story. The whole experience just stressed me out even more and though I understand the need for prescriptive services, I think too much is locked away and not enough is available to even make me want to subscribe. 3 / 5. Won’t be back.

Calm is like having your therapist at hand. Hi there! I got Calm app because I couldn’t sleep. I would go to bed after having super busy and stressful day, and move from side to side for 2 hours - every night. I tried taking sleeping pills, which gave me headache every morning after. Calm helped me falling asleep, but what’s more important, it thought me a technique on how to fall asleep. Which I could do without the app now, but it’s just way nicer to continue with it. Listening to the sleep stories is very calming and relaxing! I also use the app when I get really anxious, stressed or emotional because of work. There are many amazing meditation sessions, which allow me to keep my emotions in check. There’s no app that I would recommend more!

Calm great for Early Childhood settings. We use the Calm app each day as part of our Early Childhood setting. We have been listening to the audio stories at rest time for children aged 3 years up. We engage the children by asking them what story the would like to listen to. Over the next 4-6 weeks (4 year olds) we are listening to “The Big Bad Wolf Learns Anger Management”. We have been practising deep slow breathing before rest time each day. We follow up with group discussions on what steps to take when our bodies start to feel angry. I ask “how does it feel when you start to get angry? Each child role models how their body tenses in various areas. We talk about walking away and calming down by either drinking some water first then deep breathing or just deep breathing if able. We discuss the fact that people cannot talk or communicate when angry, only when calm. Calms Soundscape and other sleep music have been utilised for babies and toddlers sleep times. As an Educator I have used the masterclasses as professional development and my own self improvement and wellbeing. I highly recommend utilising the Calm app in every Early Childhood setting so as to assist with rest, relaxation and teaching emotional intelligence.

Refocus and adjust your life with balance. This practice, the masterclasses, music, mindfulness daily sessions, check-ins have changed my life, helping me refocus and see past negative experiences as learning opportunities, past trauma find peace with and be present in this moment and realise that it’s all the good now moments I have which become new memories. Calm for me is worth it’s weight in gold plus some and some again. After 7 or so months I upgraded to the lifetime as a gift to myself for The New Year and I’m so glad that I did. Part of my daily routine, and helps more than anything else has.

Calm was an essential tool as I faced FOUR life changing events. A friend asked me yesterday, how is it that you are always so calm in the face of challenges (e.g. tumour pressing on sciatic nerve + grade 3 ACL tear + cancer + divorce simultaneously). My recovery has been quite the journey. How is it that I've come out and look better than ever? There are many reasons e.g. the incredible people I have in my life being a key factor, butI must also give credit to the daily habit of listening to the Calm app. This same friend asked, is it free? No, nothing in life is free. I followed up with, remember, money is a tool. It is up to us how we allocate it. You can choose to spend your money on alcohol etc. or tools like Calm, to enhance your life. Lastly, it is one thing to have a gym membership, another thing to actually make the commitment to go to the gym. Don't just subscribe to Calm, actually use it!

Learning by letting go. I love the Daily Calm 10 minute sessions which I start with every day, then follow up with one of the '7 days of ...' series. The best at the beginning was the 21 days of calm. Also useful were 'self-esteem', 'focus', 'gratitude', 'happiness', 'calming anxiety' and other guided meditations. All can be repeated, as often as you like. Also on offer are various timed and unguided meditations with bells etc as prompts to return to the present moment. I have developed a habit of using the Calm app to do about 30 mins of sitting practice each morning, and keeping notes of my thoughts. Together with reading and networking with new friends from Mindful in May and now Mind Life Project, (Elise Lew, Melbourne, Australia), I have been calmer, happier and more sociable in everyday life. The wise quotes from contemporary Buddhist thinkers are also useful signposts on this new trail. I have just subscribed to this app for a second year, as a promise to myself to continue this highly beneficial and wonderful practice. Thanks Tamara Levitt for lending your soothing, reassuring voice to the excellent directions in this program. Many thanks, Calm people for this app. Christina Perrett, Melbourne, Australia

Calm sleep stories very helpful to me. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression and often cannot sleep. Just hearing a pleasant voice at night has been a lifesaver for me. I choose stories that have a gentle, caring theme and the voice of the person reading the story is very important to me as that is what I need. The white noise etc does not work for me, and most of the meditations but I choose what is soothing for me. It’s important to find someone who is reading the story or the meditation that has a calm, gentle voice. I would like to hear some more, very gentle, calming music and perhaps something that plays for a long time, because I tend to wake up as soon as it’s finished. I think I will be a lifelong member of calm as it has been a lifesaver for me for several years. Good job guys.

Can’t change languages. I can’t change languages. There is no option to do so on the app on my phone. So I logged in through Safari. Guess what? The button to save the language change is at the bottom of the change language page and takes up just the amount of space that the default menu bar that Safari overlays on the page, so there is NO WAY to press the button. They’ve changed the CSS on the page to disallow zoom in or zoom out, so I can’t just zoom out to show this portion of the page and then click ok. I also can’t change the settings in Safari to “view as on desktop” to resolve this, since this stupid inflexible CSS is also set for the desktop version. So basically there is no way for me to change the language short of getting my laptop out in bed and logging in. I’m in bed, I signed up to this on my phone to use on my phone and get to sleep from the app on my phone. Why on Earth isn’t there a simple straight forward way for me to change the langue directly from my phone?!?? I’ve selected change language of app through my phone’s settings and the language doesn’t change. Wo betide the person who has the language of their phone set to anything different than they want the language of Calm to be in. If you have an iPhone 11 at least, there is NO WAY to change the language through the app or on your phone at all. How ludicrously inflexible, and not the least bit calming. Please fix ASAP.

Incredible. I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety and insomnia so most nights are quite challenging for me to switch off before 2am. I’m only new to this app but both times prior to using this app I’m almost pulling my hair out trying to force myself to sleep. I’ve got two kids so I need the sleep. Both times that I’ve listened to the music for sleeping I have actually woken up the next morning feeling great with no recollection of even fading off. Unlike other apps with sleep music I usually have to mentally unwind my way of thinking to even get this close. This app is seriously so good. Thank you for helping keep my sanity.

Absolutely Amazing. This is definitely a tool you want in your tool belt. I was first introduced to mindfulness meditation a couple of years ago to help manage anxiety and depression. I experienced some benefits but I always seemed to let it slip. I can’t remember where I stumbled across this app but it blows absolutely every other app out of the park. Now I’m actually wanting to meditate and create that good habit. I’m a web developer and so I really appreciate the UI/UX work that has also been put into the development of this app. Loving the clean, simplistic interface. Keep up the good work guys! One thing I do wish I could do however is reset series e.g. I have finished “7 days of calm” but I would like to clear the progress back to 0% so I can keep track once again.

Reaching for peace. Calm has been my buddy through all kinds of times and one place I know I can always turn to to steady myself, quieten the mind and restore for a new day. I’ve been subscribed to Calm for a few years now. Since I’ve discovered the App I’ve loved the variety of content it provides: from my favourite, which are sleep stories for both children and adults, to guided meditations to stretching and movement videos to wisdom and inspiration series. The quality of the content is always impressive and I also enjoy the look of the App. Highly recommend.

Potential. I like this app and it helps with my anxiety but sadly recently it fell into the hole that is auto replenish subscriptions. The app may be free but you can’t do shoit without the subscription(80$) and when you start the free week trial if you don’t cancel within 24 hours before it is complete it automatically makes you pay the 80$ which is a scam and I’m pretty sure that’s illegal(I might be wrong I’m not sure)the fact that you get about 5 meditations in total if you don’t pay is just rude and the subscription doesn’t go away if you delete the app. So staff at calm please make it free again. I do recommend getting this app if your willing to pay the 80$ annually but if you aren’t and are there for the free trial and delete the app 24 hours before your week expires otherwise you’ll be charged and you won’t get an email or anything it just takes money from your bank account. I for one am willing to pay that much to help with my anxiety. It is also helpful if you struggle getting to sleep. Sorry this review was so long Sincerely, mindless

Dissatisfied. I like this app but there’s like one thing you can do without paying...

Best Meditation App. I've used a few meditations apps and I've found this is the best, so far.

Anxiety inducing - overpriced. I am trying to get support and help where I can to reduce my anxiety when I'm trying to sleep at night as I get these unbearable heart palpitations that leave me with insomnia. I decided to try this app out of desperation. Unfortunately, everything that would've been of any use to me personally is locked off completely. My entire "for you" page is premium only options, reminding me that I can't afford such 'luxuries' as a good night's sleep. This is thieving from very vulnerable people who need all the help they can get. Frankly, I find this incredibly disturbing and the matter has stressed me out which, naturally, won't help me get any sleep at all. If you have any empathy for people who require your services, you'll reduce prices and give more options and accessibility to people who cannot afford to subscribe to you. If others such as my self want some advice, try looking for some meditations on youtube or spotify. Don't waste your money or time on these greedy people, they do not care about your health.

Pricy. Way to much cost for app

Can I get my money back?. My phone was malfunctioning and i haven’t been able to stop my trial before the purchase went through. I didn’t get any email confirmation or notifications to give me a chance to opt out which makes it miserable for me to keep track. You are badly bruising my bank account and I do not feel calm about that!

Reduce your insane prices. Most people who are stressed out and not sleeping are like this because money is an issue. Your app is nice and the Sleep stories are cool, but even at the cheapest cost option it’s RIDICULOUSLY priced. $72 a year billed in a lump sum? $400 for a lifetime? With the amount of people who would buy the app if it was more reasonably priced you could still afford anything you might need. Greedy. If Mr. Fry costs that much consider hiring someone more cost effective.

What a joke. The download of the app is free, but nothing in the app does.

Absolutely Misleading. Sure, this app is free to download, but almost none of the content is unlocked. Scrolling through is just looking at a gallery of tiny padlocks. The content on the app seems good, but I wish I could see it without spending over $80 CAD minimum. Really really disappointed.

Got charged before the trail even ended 😡. Man, I am so angry. I just got robbed. I got charged before the trail even ended

No free music anymore. I couldn’t find any free contents on the app anymore .. used to have it earlier .. I don’t want to subscribe and make such a large payment .. especially since I am not sure how often I will use it ..

Pay for everything. You have to pay quite literally, for everything. There are no free features and while I’m sure it’s amazing for those who can cough up some cash, for those who cannot you’d do better looking elsewhere.

Free Trial Scam. They know that people forget about subscriptions. They charge you a full year’s fee at the end of 7 days trial. Stay away from this app.

UI became unintuitive in the last month. Stressful counter.. For an expensive and recommended app the UI and search and categories lack of consistency is unexpected. In the quest of "engagement " the opposite is true with the smack in the middle weekly counter that adds a new level of "embracing the discomfort of being not capable of an arbitrary number of sessions " . That's understandable in gaming pressure tactics, not in a mindfulness application. Where Jay and the rest of the gurus and specialists invited profess the opposite. In the beginning years there was a counter that showed how many sessions were done ( based on the same performance expectation environment similar to job and family expectations of excellence) A more useable UI , better categories and a toggle to hide "performance ( or lack thereof) mode" are dearly needed . The bigger the company grew, the more disconnected becomes. As it's proven time and time again. Ex. no more written feedback for a session allowed, just the binary, Tik-Tok or X app Thumbs up or Thumbs down. Soon even that will disappear, based on the tracking of what we use and have an algorithm decide what's good for me, even if I don't know. Youtubistanization.

Gave me anxiety lol. too much going on, and then asks for payment instantly. deleted

Could of been a great sleep aid app if reasonably priced. So what appears to be free is only available with a membership and then to access the programs you want you also have to purchase the premium app at a premium price. Value of program is about $4.99 a month not the $19.99 they are trying to charge customers.

Thiefs!. Such crap! Charged the subscription without a warning that my trial was ending and when I tried to reach their support it was impossible! Do not do the trial unless you’re sure you want to pay the 70$ because they’ll charge you without warning!

Harry Styles. Harry’s part of this app so um yes I’m downloading ✨🌿😻

Great. I’m just getting the app for Harry styles

Brutal. The worst, essentially the exact polar opposite of meditation or mindfulness. I’m sure the owners of this app are calm driving around in their Lamborghinis, sipping on fine whiskey, paid for by the infinite stream of anxious people. Ridiculous.

eh. only download for our king harry edward styles and i got to listen to dream with me for abt a week and then i found out u have to subscribe to it to listen to harry soooooo

Too expensive. I love this app, I would gladly pay for it but not at the ridiculous prices they’re asking for. Even if they offered a monthly rate I’d be more willing to buy it. Nearly $80 up front is too steep of a price to pay.

They keep asking for feedback. They keep asking for feed back and pushing notifications. Very aggressive for a calm app. $$$$$

Automatically billed for one year!. I tried this app once and wasn’t really into it. I missed cancelling the automatic renewal and it billed me for one year! This is so extreme for a first subscription. Incredibly disappointed in this app. Looking for a refund because I won’t be using it.

Horrible, anxiety inducing. Horribly overpriced, downloaded this horrible app for a week then suddenly your hit with an $80 bill after literally a few days, how is that fair ? Now it’s like pulling teeth trying to get a refund, if I even get one. Of course they will fight you the whole way to take your money. Stay FAR away from this app, it will give your more stress than when you started off. I wish I could give negative stars.

Calm on Command. As one who is amidst conflict and crisis in my work as a mediator and trauma specialist, Calm offers me the ability to call upon grounding or calming techniques to focus or destress on command. Whether starting my day, before I enter into a stressful meeting, after completing a challenging session or at the end of the day, Calm offers a wide variety of mediations and practices to stabilize, comfort and rebalance or self care so that I can maintain my own resilience and offer my best self to clients, family, friends and community. With gratitude, Namaste

Too pricey. This app is too pricey. Anyone can find all these on youtube or other sites. I will not be spending my money on it

Pay to use bs. Just another app that’s hyped up pay to do everything. Any app that has this much advertisement is always full of scams. Don’t waste your time.

Awful. This app has been driving me insane I spent $70 by mistake. I can understand why this would sound like my fault because I have clumsy fingers some may say. But I have been trying to get a hold of this company and of my Apple account and I’ve gotten no aid and no help with trying to renew my annual subscription get a refund. If you think this calm app will help you with things like anxiety it will not. All it is, is music and meditation guides to help you, which it does not help. This app is toxic and should be taken out, I am very unimpressed with the disorganization of this app and the payments that it requires because it is not a free app it costs money for something that is completely useless, and you can fine for free on Google or any other free app it is not as trashy as this one.

Calm. I wanted to listen to a song, and it said that Harry styles had a Calm song on here but it was not a song he was not singing a song. It said, fall asleep with the dreamy voice of Harry styles SONG. it was a lie. There are no songs on Calm.

Overpriced, amazing but cannot afford. Amazing app but ridiculously expensive and offers no lesser option than full access- either pay 400$ to have it for life or 15$ a month - there is very little free content and no option to unlock certain things (I.e. I would totally pay like 5$ a month to just have the app partially unlocked, but there is no option. Or like $2.50 to unlock one specific meditation) it's so all or nothing and if you don't have the money to invest in this, then you can't really use it for more than a week unfortunately:( HUGE bummer because this is the best app on my phone but it's simply not accessible, I don't have any extra hundred dollar bills lying around.

Gouging money from those who need help.. sickening. All apps like calm seem to charge insanely high fees for their services.. $400 for this app.. come on! Why do they do it? Well it’s simple, they know some people that actually have issues and need a stress relief will at times pay anything to try and get it. It’s a pretty sick business practice considering a lot of these people are stressed due to money issues. Do not support developers like this.. otherwise we will not see a stop this.

Anna. The person who talks as an amazing calming voice! She makes the apps a jewel for anyone who's on a spiritual quest!!!

Poor customer service. I cancelled after free trial but still got charged can’t get a refund from Apple warning stay away from this app

Great app!. I just wish I could set more than one reminder!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP!. I downloaded the app and realized they wanted a stupid $72 subscription so I deleted it right away. Soon after I got an email from them asking me enter the password for my email address. I tried to deleted it and it wouldn’t let me. I turn the cell off and on without success. Meantime the warning about entering the password kept on popping up. I had to delete my email address from my phone ! STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP!

Calm. Hate it don’t get it ok! Waste of my time! Don’t listen to any other comments! It is so bad you will die! Not recommended for all ages! Don’t get it!

Great sleep aid!. I have a problem with falling asleep and this helps me shut down at night.

Money cost. I’m giving this a 1 star only for the simple fact that if someone is going through a hard time. We shouldn’t make them pay to help them feel better. Sometimes it’s money causing the pain and heart ache sometimes it’s not but not all ppl that need help can’t afford to pay

THEYLL SCAM YOU DONT EVER SIGN UP HERE. So I have a story for you guys, also have all the photo proof of how this app scammed me $86... and then ANOTHER $146.... against my consent.. twice. The first time I contacted Apple care and got refunded the money that they took out of my account after I already cancelled my subscription. Then after that I delete the app... ONLY YO GO TO MY BANK FOR A CHARGE OF $146.... WHEN DID I EVER AGREE TO THAT?! ABSOLUTE WORST customer service EVER with this app, honestly it could be an ok app but I could rate the customer service 0 stars I would. I would like to know why they keep charging my card when I haven’t subscribed to ANY of their options. Do NOT give them your card information stay FAR AWAY from this app

More Personal Tracking Than You'd Expect. According to Calm's privacy policy, they will not only log and track your usage (which is normal), but they'll also collect public information on you from the internet and match that up. THEN they sell that data off. Good luck treating your anxiety while anonymous companies exploit and profit off your mental health

Too expensive. Lower your prices

No more free content anymore. Not even one thing. It was great until you took away everything single free content even if it was slim pickings. Now you can’t listen to anything unless you purchase the overpriced membership. I wouldn’t mind paying something but not that much. This is a mental health app right? But so many of these apps seem so greedy and take advantage of mental health. “You want something to help ease you mind in today’s crazy society? Well just pay an arm and a leg and your soul, that’s all and we’ve got you” Profiting off mental health. Nice.

Exploiting Mental Health. Okay I get that to run an app their needs to be some costs. So having limited access was okay because I could at least get my short breathing exercises when I have an anxiety attack. However, now Breathe has changed this completely by requiring you pay for a very expensive yearly membership! I was super choked tonight when I couldn’t listen to the meditations that help me sleep at night. For a lot of us with mental health issues, who are already on tight budgets, more the. 80 dollars a year is not affordable. Pretty disgusting that instead of looking at your user base you take the time line your own pockets instead. So for all of us with mental health issues who depend on your app, thanks for nothing.

Expensive. I was just starting to like this but 76$ a year? That’s a little crazy. I’d rather do a monthly subscription than pay a whole year upfront. Also, the fact that there is no available content on the free version is horrendous. It looks like the makers are having a difficult time with people unsubscribing before the 7 days is up so I don’t trust them enough to try the 7 days for free. If you want more people to use the app you need more content that is accessible without the trial. If I could give this zero stars, I would.

Misleading app. This app should be classified as : “in app purchases”. Most of the content is locked and you are required to pay to unlock it. When I say most of the content it means that only three sleep stories are available and only one series of a 7-day meditation plan -super basic and short- is available for free. So misleading and disappointing.

Amazing-but terrible price.... I have been using this app for over a year, using the same relaxing melody to help me fall asleep When needed. Then all of a sudden I got a new phone, and when trying to use this app again it’s asking for a $72 payment and my melody is now locked?? Very disappointing as I truly loved this app but at $72 a year that is just not feasible...

Battery drain. Drains a lot of battery with background activity that can't be turned off

Lifelong skeptic transformed. I’ve never tried meditating, and have been sceptical of it’s powers my whole life. But after watching the Netflix series “The Mind Explained”, and saw the scientifically proven effects that mindfulness has had on the brain, I downloaded this app and tried the first session immediately. I suffer from mild occasional anxiety, and was experiencing anxiety just before my first “Calm” session, and was just amazed at how one session melted away most of my anxious feelings. I’m now more of a believer in the power of mindfulness, and looking forward to tomorrow’s session and incorporating the practice into my daily life.

Free trial. I was never honoured the free trial and was charged immediately. Don’t get fooled by it.

Beware. I cancelled at day six of the trial. They charged my card for the full year subscription on day 7. They will not issue a refund. Stay away.

The Journey to find Peace ✌️☮️. One day not to long ago I was struggling to get some sleep and so was my sister was too when I would try to sleep my sister kicked and rolled when she was trying to sleep and she also sometimes kicked me off the bed and then I had to sleep in another room and her snores were so loud I had to go sleep in the basement and I slept on the couch there was also a TV down there sometimes I would watch TV so I could sleep and now I’m happy to have Calm also my sister stoped kicking and snoring😂. Thank you Calm. ❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️ My favorite sleep story is the New Nifty and the Halloween scare there’s something that happened to me there was a bat on my front door it was really scary though. When I get really angry I stop, calm down and breathe in and out. I do breathing exercises. I like the back-round noises and the sleep stories. My friends describe me as calm Calm is the best app I’ve ever used. I do happy to have Calm. ❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️

EXPENSIVE- AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. I’ve bought and listened to at least twenty of these “SleepyTime Apps” and I’ve learned a few things. Most of them are pretty cheeseball. Looping, cheap sound recordings that sound like they were recorded by your father’s cassette tape recorder from Sears, circa 1976. If those are the Chevrolets of the industry this is the Cadillac that they are ALL trying to rip off. I could go on about sound quality or originality but the real thing that sets CALM apart is that they never stop making themselves better, hiring more and more celebrity pros to come in and create their own new sleep songs, narrate their own bedtime stories. What makes CALM different is that they take most of that extra money you pay for their service and immediately re-invest it in the app, snowballing it, making it better every day. The CALM app that I will have a month from now will be better than the one I enjoy today. And they’ve kept this simple formula for as long as they’ve been in business. It works.

Simply Fabulous!!!. Calm has been such a blessing and absolutely paramount in helping deepen my meditation practice. The wide variety in types of meditations offered is just incredible. From detailed visualization and guided meditation, to simple breathing meditations with very little guidance, it offers it all. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a lot of guidance while meditating and other times I just want bells at different durations while meditating, and I like that I can easily switch it up, depending on that day's vibe. I was a little thrown off by having to pay over $60 right out the gate, but after giving it a try, I've now paid that fee for the last 5 years with ZERO regret. It also keeps track of how many days in a row you've meditated and the total hours. I just LOVE being able to track my progress and also know when I'm slacking and need to spend more time on my biggest self care ritual, which is my meditation practice. Thank you sooooo much Tamara for this beautifully intricate, but very easy to operate app you've created!

I can't rate this app highly enough!. 1st off, I TRULY appreciate the app giving me time to try its features before asking for an App Store review. I absolutely HATE when you've used an app for all of 5 minutes and then it asks you to rate it. Absolutely awful, how would I really know? This app gave me the time to explore it and use it for a good week before asking for a review. Bravo! As far as the app itself, by session 7, I REALLY zoned out into the meditation and almost put myself to sleep I was so calm. I remember when I first began I was anxious to check when I would be done. But by the end of the week, I was surprised we were done already. I'm excited about that. The music is calming, the guidance is very calming and helpful. And it's very easy to use and I love the reminder and quotes at the end. Again, I can't rate this app highly enough. I hasn't even asked me to upgrade to the paid version yet so I don't know how much it costs to continue meditating but I sure hope I can afford it. They deserve being compensated for the labor of this app!

Insomniac. About two years ago, I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. You know how it goes. Even on meds now, I still have bad days. Well, for about a stretch of a month now, I’ve been having awful nightmares. I’ve always had trouble sleeping, but it was getting to the point where I had /maybe/ two hours of sleep a night. It wasn’t even good sleep; it was the kind where your body is asleep, but your mind is awake, so it leaves you feeling like you never slept in the first place. Then I remembered that my therapist had recommended this app for me. Now about a year ago, on my old phone, I had the app but never used it. Smart, right? Well, I downloaded it again, and when I went to bed, I put on one of the free stories. The next thing I knew, I was waking up, perfectly rested and actually tired from being asleep! This is the first I haven’t had a nightmare in a month! I think this app hit me with a melatonin nightstick😂 But in all seriousness, thank you so much. It’s been fantastic so far, and I’ll continue to use it.

It is definitely worth the money to unlock all the stories!. This app has helped me through so much, I struggle with severe anxiety and I first discovered this app while on a trip…I was really anxious and I didn’t get any sleep the last 2 nights. I already had this app on my phone but I didn’t have the premium subscription so I had very limited options, I decided to do the free trial to the premium subscription and I fell in love with it, so I decided to spend the money because it was worth it! I have been using it for a year now and I can’t tell you how much this has helped me! Before I downloaded/started using this app, I had weeks where I only slept 2 out of the 7 nights which can take a huge impact on your mental health but ever since I have been using this app that doesn’t happen anymore, this app is a dream to own! Thank you so much Calm for helping me with all of my struggles, this app is like a digital therapist and I am not lying! I doubted at first that this would never work but I judged to soon, it works!

The app is wonderful, but lacks variety.. I got a year of premium on this app and absolutely adore it. The depth, care, and detail that went into making this app the best of its kind are not at all lost on me. It’s been very helpful to me with managing sleep and anxiety, really to life-changing levels. But I find my biggest complaint and the thing that makes me go through bouts in which I stop using it altogether is the lack of variety in narrators. Tamara Levitt is used to narrate a very large number of exercises and while her voice is positive and upbeat—she really is lovely, I’m sure!—it’s not AT ALL relaxing and totally grinds on my nerves. I literally cannot listen to any audio that she does in this app and as I said, there are many. It’s really disappointing. I’ve found the male narrators, specifically Elisha Goldstein, have a slower cadence and a much more relaxing tone that allows me to decompress and stop my anxiety attacks or drift off to sleep. But repetitive listening of certain audios can lead me to memorize it, which I find has me anticipating the words rather than absorbing them. I would really appreciate more frequent updates to the “cast” in these audios, especially ones for sleep and anxiety management.

I LOVE my Calm!!. I’ve been using the Calm app for a few years now. There’s a lot of great free content but the premium content is outstanding! I bought a lifetime membership and have never ever regretted it. I use the daily meditations, the daily yoga, the sleep stories, the music, soundscapes, the master classes and the check-in’s. Calm as part of my daily routine. It’s a great way to start the day! I turned my husband on to Calm about a year ago. He struggles with anxiety and calm has helped him more than I can describe. He loves it so much he asked for a lifetime subscription as a birthday gift! He also suffers from insomnia. The sleep stories and especially the sleep music have helped him to fall asleep and stay asleep without the aid of medication‘s. I can’t recommend this app highly enough!!! Enjoy the free content but if you want the full immersion and the maximum benefits I encourage the annual subscription or better yet the lifetime subscription. Thank you Calm team for putting together such a great app! Keep up the good work!

Awesome!. I am a busy mom. I work full time. I travel. I have struggled with worry, rumination, perfectionism, some anxiety, and poor sleep, for years. Even more-so after becoming a mom, which comes with a whole new set of worries for another person! I have tried through the years to get myself into a routine that includes meditation & relaxation, but always fall off track. THIS app allows me to plug in any time I want, and seek a brief meditation on a topic that I am most in need of at that moment. Whether I’m stressing over a big presentation, or having trouble with connection, the list of guided meditations is plentiful. Or I can just go solo one day (unguided) to the tranquil sounds of the scene of my choice. I also now love doing this...I open the app, choose a scene, usually a nature scene (with audio), set preference for scene to function while app is closed, connect it to my Bluetooth speaker, and let it play while the phone is displayed right in front of me on my desk working from home. Def try the premium trial. It’s worth it to go premium.

I have 3 months !. My aunt got me three months for my birthday in late October . Ashamed I’ve waited nearly a whole month to use the gift card , but I am extremely impressed . I always has bias towards this app just due to its advertisements and monthly subscription cost . These days everything has a subscription and also costs money. I recommend you give it a month for a free trial and if u don’t like it then u don’t have to use it . I love all the music options for sleep and I haven’t checked out the stories or the mediation section just yet . I think this app has potential and is more then likely one of the best apps for mental health ( maybe I’m not sure ) Anyhow , it has a sleep timer and you have the ability to download music files to the app for offline use .... As a person that suffers from insomnia and an irregular sleep cycle , I hope this app can help me as I have issues holding down a job because of anxiety and other mental disease. My name is Morgan , I’m 22 years old , and I wanna thank u for reading my review ... If anyone ever does ... Stay frosty friends . <3

New content for sleep seems lacking. Although majority of folks have rated this app 5 stars, I am in the minority that I find the sleep content lacking. Or perhaps new content does not easily appear when opening the app and selecting sleep. I use this app solely for the sleep content, so I cannot comment on the other areas of what Calm has to offer. I also subscribe to a couple of other apps for sleep stories and meditations - one of which I pay for yearly and the other free through apple podcast. I noticed that both other apps I use (paid and free) update their content weekly and easily show the new sleep stories upon opening the app. Calm doesn’t seem to update with new sleep content nearly as often or perhaps it requires you to dig for it. Add to that, the cost of Calm is nearly double what I pay for the other sleep app I use which produces 1-3 new episodes per week. Apple Podcasts also have new free content that is updated weekly. I am nearing the end of my 1 year subscription and do not plan to renew. I do not feel the money is worth what you get from the sleep section.

Love the app but need playlists for sleep stories. I love the Calm app. I’ve had it for years and love all the changes the app makes with the premium version. I’ve used all the features including the meditation but mostly use the sleep stories. I have insomnia and the sleep stores are the only thing that help me fall back asleep more quickly. I listen to the Calm curated playlist as I like to have the stories play all night. The playlists haven’t been updated in a while and I would really love the option to make my own or at least have a play all downloads feature. I have made suggestions over the years to allow users to curate their own playlists but this option isn’t available yet. Please make that update next. I wake often and end up having to find another sleep story to listen to in the night since I can’t auto set another to play when one ends. I love the app and all the content. I really wish this feature would be done. It’s the only thing keeping the app from being perfect.

Daily sessions to look forward to. I never knew much about meditation until a mentor introduced me to the practice. It is exactly that, a practice. I found it difficult at first to stay focused but found that it came more easily the more I did it. I became hooked and noticed the positive impact it had on all aspects of my busy, hectic life. I knew I wanted to continue guided meditation and my mentor recommend finding an app that I liked. After trying free-trials of several apps I knew hands down this was the one for me. The selection of background sounds, and her soothing voice were exactly what I was looking for. The length of sessions are sufficient to fully relax and recharge yet not too cumbersome to fit into a busy schedule. I come to look forward to the sessions at the end of each day as my “me time.” I like that there are pre-programmed sessions aimed at specific topics or goals and there are daily sessions as well. The fact that the app keeps track of my progress helps to keep me motivated to never skip a day. I can’t say enough good things about this app, well worth every penny!! I am hooked.

Almost Perfect. Turning my brain off and getting to sleep has always been a problem for me. I was iffy when I bought a year’s subscription to Calm but it has 100% been worth it. I’ve never fallen asleep as easily as with Calm’s sleep meditations. However, lately I’ve found myself waking up shortly after the track stops playing and I’ll fumble with my phone to turn on another. This is now happening 2-3 times a night. I looked for an autoplay function but found that it only exists in the music portion of the app. I’d be fully awake by the time I navigate to music, select a track, and set to autoplay. I don’t necessarily need to listen to meditations all night but it would be great if I were able to queue up the sleep music or a soundscape to begin playing once the meditation track is over. In the meantime I’ll be trying to rig up something with my Alexa to keep the room from falling too silent. Overall, I think Calm is a wonderful app with great content and my only wish is that it could keep going all night!

Helpful beyond description. I am very reluctant to use this type of apps. However, this one always called my attention and during my last insomnia crisis I decided to explore. Oh my God, this app is not just a help to sleep better but to Live better! It has been about 10 days since I started and I am in love with it. I am 58 y.o. Venezuelan Female, Medical Doctor, married to a Wonderful Woman - my Soul Mate- living in a foreign country. She is deep into meditation and I feel so behind but I met Jeff and he has introduced me to meditation in such an easy and accessible way. I have attempted for many many year with others but I always fell asleep. Besides and like now, I am at work and have some boring stuff to do. I just have to look for some new music on the app to switch my mood and be able to “keep walking”. So, Thanks Jeff! and thanks the lady with the sweet voice- can’t remember her name!- and thanks to all the talented people that make possible this unbelievable tool. My year subscription is really worthy to be paid!

This app is fantastic!!😍. I’ve been under a lot of extra stress since this whole pandemic started. I suffer from anxiety, depression and PTSD and I take supplements to help with the symptoms and normally they work well but lately I’ve been having more anxiety attacks and I was doing some free meditation tools and they worked but they only had a couple of options. I had heard of calm but always thought I didn’t need it . I looked at the app and all it offered and was blown away so I decided to sign up for the free seven day trial . It’s only been one day into the trial and I’m definitely keeping it! It’s helping me stay calm and focused and they even have stuff for kids so both me and my daughter can benefit from it 👍🏻 . I highly recommend using this app! They have guided meditations, sleep stories, music, nature sounds, classes on various topics and even fitness options. It’s amazing what you get for the yearly subscription price. In my opinion, it’s worth it if you struggle with any type of mental illness or have even occasional stress.

Great app! Would love to see a mood tracker added. This app is great! I love that I can customize the background picture and sounds. The background and sounds can still be present during the meditation if you set the settings to allow it. Otherwise, you could set the background sounds to silent during meditations. I love the daily calm and various meditations and sound scapes! I really appreciate that I can even set the length of calm sessions or body scans to fit my work day. The one thing I would add to make this app perfect is a mood tracker! They do have one but it doesn’t give good statistical data. I like to keep track of my mood and compare it weekly, monthly, and yearly. Having a line graph of sorts would help me track my mood better for my mental health goals. The lack of this one feature is why I still have a mood journal app that I keep forgetting to use. If the mood tracker in Calm was better at displaying patterns then I would just use this app for all my mindfulness, gratitude, reflection, and mood tracking. I really would like to see that feature added!

Once you get past the subscription, the app is amazing!. I was skeptical at first because of the prices for the subscription deal, but my dad did the math and it’s actually not as bad as it looks. Still a bit pricey, but not bad. My dad used to be a computer programmer, so he knows why people use the subscription payment model. I’m using the app right now and it has helped me so much! I have really bad anxiety and cope with distractions poorly.(I’m medically diagnosed with A.D.D. and Asperger’s syndrome.) I have a better understanding of why apps do things like this. I mean, if you were a developer and made something that helps people, wouldn’t you want to have something in return? I think most people would agree that they wouldn’t want to make a product and have people not pay for it. Gotta pay the rent somehow. I’m still not a fan of that kind of payment system, but I’m more informed about it thanks to my dads former experience of being a computer programmer. Like it says in the title, once you get past the subscription, the app does its job beautifully.

Sunshine. I am loving Calm. It is perfect for where I am right now. I love the 10 minute daily calm. I look forward to the new topic each day and 10 minutes is a very manageable amount of time even in my busy schedule. I am working through the 21 day beginning meditation series as well. I like that I can do the daily calm each day and then add a 10 minute beginning session when I have time. Tamara’s voice I find very pleasant and reassuring. I like being able to choose some soothing background sound like birds chirping or fire crackling. And finally I am enjoying the sleep stories and find they are helping me fall asleep more quickly in the evenings. The only negative is I’m not too fond of the music selections. I find most of the music to be somewhat jarring and irritating rather than soothing. I would love if some peaceful soothing music were added as options. So right now I just don’t listen to the music. Overall, this app has been fantastic for helping me learn to quiet my mind and stop destructive thought loops. I am definitely feeling calmer and more present than ever before.

Perfect. Ever since I began using Calm about 3 years ago , I noticed a tremendous difference and improvement in my life. The more I utilised the amazing features the app had to offer, the more I learned about myself. Among many of my favourite features is surprisingly the usage counter ; where it keeps track of how many days in a row one has used the app. It is very motivating. I currently have about 5 months (153 days) in row! The more I incorporate Calm into my daily life, the more I grow , the more I learn and become more self aware. I am happier and Calm has truly changed my life in so many ways . When I started to really get into the lessons on Calm, an “Ah ha” moment happened and the classes and meditations being taught, “clicked” and I began to better understand the meanings, the concept, the teachings of mindfulness …🧘🏼‍♀️ But I credit the amazing teachers and mindfulness experts for their approach and way of passing the lessons onto its users. It’s worth the download, and definitely worth purchasing a lifetime subscription!

Worth it changed my life❤️. I had been struggling with falling asleep and plenty of mental illnesses with anxiety, overcoming trauma, trying to heal myself, and depression. The premium is 100% worth it I can’t imagine my life without this app and even if I’m not finding time to use the meditations like I do want to (still working on finding time for those and making time for my mental health) the daily check ins and gratitudes I do each day take less than five minutes and help me see that even if I felt like it was a horrible day so many good things also happened. The daily reflections are also amazing helping me realize thoughts and answers I didn’t know I had if I didn’t just sit back think and listen. Overall this app has been incredible and I wouldn’t change a thing 1000% worth the money such a large variety of things and tools to listen and work with to the people who made this app thank you so much for helping the millions of people out there like me❤️

Breathing changes your life. Having used this app for a couple years now, I have some experience that has changed me. I have learned that breathing well is as important as good blood flow in your veins. People don’t naturally think of it as important because our brains do it unconsciously and we don’t have to think about it. But when we stop to take a moment and breathe, we find that heart rate shifts, emotions are regulated, and perspectives change. It actually feels quite miraculous. As a Christian, I know that many people are leery of (even the word) meditation. However, it is my joy to carry the message of truth regarding meditation. Meditation (ie using my own breath) has carried me through hard times and bolstered my energy when I’m weary. It is using the body and breath to be the recharge, the Gatorade, if you will, to the soul. Even Job 33:4 says, “the Spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty gives me life. “ Breath is profound and simple all at the same time. Our breath is a gift and I believe a life lived well, tends this gift.

Should not claim to support Family Share. Like many expensive subscription apps Calm claims to support Apple Family share. However, In-app purchases and subscriptions cannot be shared, so no, your purchase of Calm cannot be shared. Only the free portion (accessible for 1 week) can be shared—which is of course unnecessary since family members don’t need family share for something that is already free. Family members would actually be better off downloading it directly because the free access only lasts one week so they’d at least get their own trial period instead of whatever remains of a family member’s. There is fine print in the App Store which says that Family Share does not support in-app purchases and subscriptions, but nothing in the app itself will tell you that your $70 one year subscription cannot be shared with a family member or significant other. It would be simpler and more honest if Calm would opt-out of Family Share so it would not display that capability on their App Store description as Family Share is only relevant and useful for one-time paid apps. You have a very nice app otherwise.

Absolutely amazing! ✨✨❤️❤️. Once, it was 3am and still dark out. Then, my power cut. I was absolutely terrified! So Al I did was curl up in a ball and hug my iPad as tight as a killer might choke you. I went on my iPad and scrolled through pages and pages of apps looking for messages so I could text my mother about the situation. Then, I came across one of my old apps called ✨ℂ𝕒𝕝𝕞✨. It’s been a while since I used this app. I think I stopped because I thought the format was crusty musty dusty wusty schmusty custy yusty gusty susty vusty busty lusty rusty tusty pusty fusty nusty kustywusty. But now, it looks better then ever! I love it! I am absolutely obsessed! Back to the story, I went into the app and started to use it, then my time on the app went from at least 3:00 to 4:00 in a heartbeat. It was so fast and I was and am obsessed! This really has helped me calm my mind and body. It helps me unwind all my thoughts for bed. This has changed my life! Thank you soooooo much for creating this app! Thank you for being so thoughtful about other people’s bodies and minds. Once again, thank you. Goodbye!

Good App - Relaxing. This app is definitely very relaxing. I used the guided meditations to help manage anxiety. Th first thing I noticed upon downloading the app is that the home screen is soft in color and hue, and there are relaxing water noises playing. This already put me in a relaxing mood before beginning the exercise. I like that there are different meditations for different stressors (relationship problems, work, etc.) because it helps me choose one that’s best for me and helps me set intentions for the meditation. I like that the meditations do focus a lot of physical sensations such as muscle tension and breathing because I do deal with physical sensations caused by anxiety. In my abnormal psychology class, we learned about the importance of slowing down and breathing. The way breath work was incorporated into the meditation reminded me of a breathing exercise my professor taught us in class during which you hold your breath both on its way in and on its way out. Very effective in helping me take a step back from my stress and anxiety and i recommend this app!

Loving this app. I suffer from what I call ‘busy brain’ and was seeking help to unwind, destress and generally switch off after work when I bought this app, 40 days ago. I’ve used it at least once a day ever since. I’m trying my best to meditate, still not very good at diverting those racing thoughts but I do enjoy the short ‘pep talks’ at the beginning of each meditation and breathing exercises help me to unwind a little. I love the sleep stories, particularly those narrated by Alan Sklar - I never reach the end though, I’m always asleep within 10 minutes! If I wake horribly early I use the sleep meditations to try to relax back into sleep. Then there’s the music and soundscapes to explore too. I see in these reviews that some people complain about the cost but if you use the app daily, it’s really only a few cents a day. Well worth the price if you determine to make time in your day to make use of the app. All in all, I think Calm is excellent value, well designed and offers something new to explore almost every day. Well done all!

Great, but limited content, needs more. This app has really changed how well I sleep. And for that I am truly grateful to the developers. They definitely deserve all the accolades the app has been receiving. I do have one major criticism thought that I wish I could get them to pay attention to at this time. They apps content is very limited in comparison to other similar apps. The major area of limitation is the sleep stories section. There are only a handful of sleep stories that can not even get you through a month of nights without having to listen to the same stories over and over again. Many users I know are focusing in on the sleep stories section because they work. However, all have the same complaint as I do; just not enough stories and having to listen to the same stories over and over again. Hey for little kids, this particular flaw is fine. Heck, I have read the Fantastic Mr. Fox to my youngest literally over a 100 times to get him to sleep. For us adults, the developers of calm need to realize we need more variety in our sleep stories. If this app only had more, I would be elated to change my rating to 5 out of 5 stars without a days hesitation.

Calm is how I reconnect with myself. 3 years and counting and I still use this app almost every day. From sleep stories and nature sounds or music, to meditations and mini mastermind series. It is everything I need for my mental health at my fingertips - whenever, wherever. When I’m upset, I can find something here that will help calm myself (pun intended lol) but it also helps me learn how to self sooth, instead of self medicate. Nothing wrong with medication if someone needs it, but I don’t believe I need it and want to learn how to manage my anxiety and not to let my emotions get the best of me. I listen to sleep story’s almost every night and pass out within minutes. I don’t think I know the middle or end to ANY sleep story, because I can’t make it that far lol. If you’re looking for a more holistic way of creating inner peace, this is it for me. I am a life coach as well and recommend it to al my clients, friends and family. I always say if I would get paid for how much I recommend Calm, I would have a really nice chunk of money.

I’m a paid for life member. My son first got me the calm app for Christmas , maybe 5 years ago, I loved it so much, I continued paying for it, yearly, until maybe 3 years ago, I paid for the lifetime membership, I listen to the meditations regularly, the sleep stories, I listen to every night, I sleep better and I love the calm app, the best app I’ve ever used. And worth every penny!. I highly recommend the calm app, there are many different people who read the sleep stories and do the meditation sessions I have my favorites, that I listen to every day and night, a couple years it’s great, try it out for yourself ago, I was in the hospital, without calm, I don’t think I would of been able to sleep it’s really helpful and I love it! Thank you so much for your app! Also, I get an email at the end of every week, telling me, the different new, sleep stories, meditations, and music they have added for that week! Try it out for yourself, you can try it out for free! My favorite sleep stories are read by Alan Skylar and Eric brea, my favorite meditation sessions are by Jeff Warren!

I have finally found an answer.. I have had anxiety for about 7 months and recently, has been growing. I try to do as much as I can to calm myself down when I feel anxious. I have seen ads about this app before, and wasn’t really convinced at the time. However, I recently was shown an ad and thought to my self if I should get the app. A few minutes later, it’s on my phone. I really admire the people behind this game for creating an app for people like me, and it makes me feel hopeful that there are still people out there who care about others like this. I also really like how even though they present you with calm premium, that they still have many options to choose from with out spending a single penny. So, to conclude my review, I just want to say how I think this app will help me. I am going to continually come back on the app for at least a month, and I can foresee me feeling better because of it. I believe this app will help me a lot, and I would like to thank the creators again, for making this app.

Helped Me Through A Crises. My father died March 4, 2019, of vascular dementia and Parkinsonism. This app got me through a year of grief and anxiety - the likes of which I had never experienced- so deep was our hurt watching our father die so slowly and losing him bit-by-bit over time. His sickness was made more stressful because my parents live in another state and I was driving 12-hours every weekend to get to them. Plus, I was in grad school, working full-time and had (still do) very involved children in both high school and college. Beginning last summer, the grief and worry was becoming so great that I couldn’t breathe. My mind was racing so fast, I couldn’t sleep. Even using prescriptions to sleep and relax, I knew I needed more help so went online, really, sort of desperate. I found “Calm.” I didn’t miss many days meditating after that. The sleep stories replaced my prescription meds for sleep (eventually), and Calm was an anchor as the end for Dad got closer and when he died. As a college professor, I recommend it now to all my students. I see Calm as an essential part of my healthy life.

Helpful in managing IBS. I was recently diagnosed with IBS. My GI recommended doing daily meditations to help relieve some of the stress and anxiety that can exacerbate my symptoms. I read some research articles on the topic and found one included in the American Journal of Gastroenterology which showed that meditation significantly improved symptoms in women with IBS. I decided to give meditation a try. As a busy medical student, I wasn’t sure if I would have the time to make meditation a daily practice. I have made time for meditation each day since my diagnosis 2 months ago and have found it to be very helpful, especially when I am having a flare-up. It really has allowed me to break that vicious cycle of symptomatic exacerbation worsened by anxiety about my symptoms flaring up. Obviously, other lifestyle modifications (e.g. diet, exercise, sleep, and even medication) might be necessary to control and/or alleviate symptoms. I have had to make other lifestyle modifications too. Thus far, meditation has been a very effective aid in my IBS management. I highly recommend the Calm app!

Awesome app!! Few Suggestions. I absolutely love your app! To the calm creators, I think they worked hard on this app..but there are some suggestions. For example, I know that these things and apps cost a lot to make..but please don’t squeeze the person who doesn’t want to buy or doesn’t have the money to buy supreme,(to listen to everything/everyone) it really isn’t that nice. People who need to relieve stress or anxiety or listen to the voices/stories they want to. I personally think there is quite a lot of things to listen on calm..for free. But not even close to premium. But just remember, I love your app, and a lot of people do too!! But just please raise the stories for the people who can’t pay..especially animal ones!! (Those are my favorite). I’m just giving some helpful feedback on your app..hope you use this advice and put it in an update! But if you don’t and don’t take a lot of the viewers advice or mine..some people might start deleting your app. Sincerely from a Calm User to the Calm Creators.

More narrators please. This app has been incredibly helpful for me; the focused texts are simple enough to be absorbable / not distracting in a state of meditation, when you need it most. The 7 days series is excellent. The texts themselves are poignant with the exception of some cultural references Ive heard (honestly, I don’t think this is any place to mention what Amanda Palmer from Dresden Dolls thinks) - trying way too hard with that. My main issue which has kept me from being able to use about 50% of the guided meditations, including Daily Calm and most other practices, is that I just can not bear the speaking voice of Tamara Levitt. I’ve tried & tried and i just can’t. It it is probably just me but she really rubs me the wrong way in how mushy and drippy her voice is...it comes across as disingenuous but I realize that the intention is exactly the opposite. It would be really nice to have at least one other choice for each program - ideally the other one would be more neutral. It’s a pity because I like the content very much, but otherwise, with no adjustments of added narrators it will probably keep me from renewing my subscription.

21days of Calm ... and so much more. Do you experience any stress in your life? Or, perhaps your life is spinning out of control. Or, if not, you may find yourself somewhere in between. The Calm app does not solve life‘s problems but it does help reframe them to give us a better way of living with and living through our problems. One of the greatest features is the Daily Calm which is a 10+ minute meditation. This does not mean zoning out to some strange mantra and pursuing another mystical realm! Instead, the user is guided through various styles of mindfulness. At the conclusion, guidance is given on how to approach life or reframe our issues in order to better live life rather than life dominating you. If you do choose to subscribe, there are probably hundreds of targeted series (and growing)-/ everything from sleeping better to dealing with relationships with others, dealing with loss and even dealing with yourself. Using this app consistently (I use it frequently, not daily—I sometimes forget or get caught up in my business!) will surely help you not control your life but learn to not be controlled by your life.

PLEASE READ! This was written with as much respect as possible.. There is so much advertised about this app that’s “free,” but turns out this “free” stuff, the majority of it costs money. I believe that the CEO(s) should provide a few more free sessions/for the clients to use and enjoy because it is quite frustrating not being able to listen to a variety of stories or ANY SONGS without receiving a fee. This app is supposed to improve mental health, but look at me now, not being able to sleep because all that I CAN listen to is the saaaaame thing over and over until I am just strait up angry. Please try to adopt a few of these suggestions and look through what I’ve stated. I feel this app can be so much more than the flourishing app that it is now. What I’m trying to say is this is a great app and I loke it when I’m feeling down, but there is definitely room for improvement. P.S. more variety for the breathing exercises would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and I hope you put this information into good use.

Too many locked things. Today I found myself in a EXTREMELY stressful situation and I needed to be calmed down. I decided to download this app because I couldn’t take it anymore. I read the reviews and a lot of people were complaining about the locked features. I thought it couldn’t be that bad. I was wrong. Almost everything helpful is locked. I found myself not only stressing out about the situation I’m going through but this app. Now I know it’s not a lot of money but even if it’s like a couple cents a month, I stress about it. I’m not poor or anything it’s just that I have a lot of anxiety. I mean a lot. This isn’t a very helpful app if almost everything helpful is locked. All the music is locked which would help me the most. Very disappointing but I gave it an extra star because if we had some helpful things, it would be an amazing app. I saw a response to a review like mine saying that they make it so expensive so they can keep building the app. Omg these people who made this aren’t very smart. Have you seen all the 5 stars? If you make it cheaper, there will be more people buying the app and then the reviews won’t be as bad and you’ll have even more money. $70 is just outrageous.

Premium for almost everything. Whenever I use this app I usually use it only for breathing, mainly because that’s all I can because of premium. My mental health has been horrible these past days and this app could probably help, but it’s not free. My family might do the 7 day trial but sense my mental health is most likely going to get better I’m sure they would think it’s a waste but not everyone is lucky to have the money for these things. There could be family’s in need that don’t have the money for fancy memberships like this. Though I’m sure my family would get the subscription some people don’t have the money to do. What I’m saying is if you see this could you please look into some stuff that could be free because I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to take at least a couple of things off the premium even if it’s just 1 story or anything that could help. Even if you have to watch a ad every time. It would help a lot for people and it would even help me too.

Love, love, love!!. I absolutely love this app. I’m a Christian and a senior in college. Previous meditation experiences have made me so uncomfortable because they ask me to recite something or meditate on something that goes against my religion. This app doesn’t do that! Also, I struggle with the epidemic in out world of Hurry Sickness (google it. It’s a thing.) I do too much, say yes to too much, worry myself, stress myself out, and don’t give myself quiet time. This app reminds me to care for my heart and brain. I meditate daily, every morning using the daily calm. I then do a timed meditation and spend time in prayer and meditating on my God. Starting my day like this makes me so prepared to deal with the hurry of life. I also do at least one other meditation throughout the day. I love the sleep meditations. I haven’t tried the stories yet, and I’ve been using this app for several months. I think I’ll focus too much on the voice and story to fall asleep. So! I just do a guided sleep meditation. I have no requests for how to fix this app. The price is reasonable and I’ve had no issues with the app. 10/10 recommended!!!

It’s a great app but.... This is a really great app and I absolutely love how it greets you and has a daily check in thing. But I wish everything didn’t need premium!!! I mean I get it. You have to make some money out of it...but everything being locked just adds more stress (which defeats the purpose of the app :/). I have deleted this app numerous times because of this reason and every time I redownload it more things are locked. And I was really upset when I saw the Winnie the Pooh thing was locked 🥺😔This is a great app....to the ppl with premium :| So therefore I came up with a few suggestions ^•^ My first suggestion is to have it to where you can watch an ad and that meditation session is unlocked or everything is unlocked for however many hours. Honestly I would rather have an ad after every other meditation than have all of them locked. Another suggestion I have is for if you didn’t like the first one; just have like maybe half of the meditations locked and a few of the free ones has like half of their sessions locked. Also I would really like it if some of the music was unlocked (being a musician myself I love listening to calming instrumental 🥰) Please consider my suggestions and thank you for taking time to read this, have a great day!! ^•^

Great app but lots of $. I love the app! But that’s a lot of money. I think there should be an app that thinks about the people using it more, because some people can’t afford this including me. I’m trying to look for a app that helps with my anxiety and this app is great but I don’t have the money to get what I need on this app. This seems like a little much to charge $70. This helps people’s stress, anxiety, depression, and more. There are a ton of options you can use which is great if you have $70. You should have more free things and give more price options. Like you could have a certain amount of money for a week or a month or even even a few months, not just charge to only get it for a year. And you could lower the price for a year even if it’s just by a few $. This might attract more people to the app and you would make more money. You would probably get better ratings too. If you have the $ to spend on this app spend it! It’s not going to be a waste of your $. This has sleep stories for people of all ages including kids, it has all different kinds of sounds, it has meditation, and it has breathing exercises. GET THIS APP if you have the money to spend for it. It won’t let you down.

Great app but one negative.... When introduced to the calm app it was the best thing regardless of whether you paid for it or not, there were still plenty of programs that you were able to listen to. Found it so useful for me that I began to recommend it for my patients even those that could not afford the subscription it allowed them to have access to some of the programs that were useful for them. However, this is no longer the case which I found out when it asked me to review my subscription & before doing it decided to checkout what was available, which truly disappointed me. If you don't pay you’ll have access to a very limited programs. I understand the app needs to make money but, as with many things that gain popularity, it shifted from helping others to now make money. Despite this app being amazing which I used almost daily, I will not renew the subscription & seek another app that I can use, that I can also recommend for my patients who experience financial difficulties. Thank you.

I really wanted to love this, but. Two major concerns. First of all, I judge how sincere an app like this is about helping people by the availability of free content. I understand that it takes resources to produce content of this quality, but this app verges on hostile towards the non-paying user, and some people just can’t afford to pay. I saw someone saying that the master classes were available, so I looked into that - um, no. It’s the *trailers* that are available, and this sort of bait-and-switch is typical of the non-paying experience in this app. Second, I have chronic pain, and there isn’t any content that comes up when I search for that - there apparently isn’t anything health-related at all. The one free guided meditation I found started triggering panic as it made me more aware of my pain, and I had to stop. The upshot is that this app seems targeted towards a “beautiful person” demographic whose problems really will all go away if they start meditating. The series by Lama Rod Owens seems like a step in the right direction, but it’s going to take a complete reevaluation of the goals and design to really address the problem. Right now, if you’re disabled, broke, aging ungracefully, traumatized, or whatever, this app will constantly remind you that you don’t belong in the “Calm” space.

Amazing but..... Okay, I will be honest this app is so relaxing. At first, I thought that it would be some kind of boring app that wouldn’t have any use— well I was wrong. This app is so good. There are different types of meditations that you can do for seven days, sleep stories that will make you fall asleep, classical music, relaxing backgrounds that you can change anytime, yoga lessons, and to just breath normally. I started about a week ago, and I have been so relaxed after that. I don’t get as mad when my lil sis hides in my room and steals things, I don’t get as frustrated when my parents ask me to do double chores with no extra allowance. But there is something that I will have to point out before you download this app— most of the things are NOT free! Most sleep stories are not free, most meditation thingies are not free (you can only have one sample then every other day is locked, ask of the relaxing music costs money, it is the same for the yoga. You need to buy a year’s worth of unlimited pro, month, or week. To me it is kind of unfair, but they still allow a few sleep stories and I can get relaxed even without the pro needed.

I love this it’s so calming. I love this is so calming it calmed me down because I was mad at my sister she was annoying me and so was my dog Sophie my dog Sophie was annoying me to so when I did the calming you down thing I was so calf I didn’t hurt my sister or my dog 🐕 so thank you for making this please make more things like this game and whoever made this I was am going to tell you you did a very very very very very very very good job i’m just telling you that I love love Love love Love this game. Please please please make more games like this. I am just saying I needed this app to erase all my thoughts I was having A lot of stuff going on in my head but that changed when I listened to the meditation it cleared all of the thoughts that were in my head so I just really really wanted you to make more apps like this one. Just one thing you need to change well I don’t have premium and you need to bring stuff back for the people without premium like me all the other things I love love except the premium thing that’s the only thing that I hate.

I’m sleeping soundly again!. I love this app! I was struggling with anxiety and restless nights as I am working full time and going to school full time and couldn’t seem to quiet my mind at bed time. The meditations, sleep stories, and ambient noise have all helped me tremendously. I’m getting the best sleep since I can remember. I do have one suggestion, though. As they are meant to do, the sleep stories often get me to sleep, but once the story ends, it is just silence. The ambient noise helps me to stay asleep, but I can’t find a way to have the ambient noise begin once the sleep story or meditation session ends. It would be great to be able to make a playlist of sorts where ambient noise automatically kicks in at the end of the sleep story or meditation session. That way, if I’m already asleep or very close to it, there is no need to go back into the app to turn on ambient noise, risking the light from my phone putting back to an awaken state. Thank you, Calm! Everything else about this app is fantastic and has truly benefitted me and my mental health.

Most meditations guided by the same person. After having calm for several months now, I’ve enjoyed exploring to the variety of content from masterclasses to music to meditation. I also like the approach calm takes in encouraging you to develop your own daily practice of mindfulness. However, the main reason why I purchased calm was for the large library of meditations. However the bulk of new meditations come from the daily meditation which is always guided by the same person, Tamara Levitt. She also guides many of the meditation series they have available. Unfortunately I don’t enjoy how Tamara does her meditations and I find them more distracting than helpful. Because of this I find myself avoiding her meditations and whenever there is a choice for another voice I’ll pick it, but there are only so many of these. And, if you’re not doing the daily meditations, it doesn’t take too long before you feel like you’re running out of content. Calm is great if you enjoy Tamara’s meditations, but your kind of out of a deal if you don’t. I just think its unfortunate that there isn’t more variety in the voices available and authors coming out with new content. My wish would be for calm to at least have a second choice for the voice of the daily calm.

You literally can’t use anything without the extremely expensive subscription. This app is for anxiety and to help people who have trouble falling asleep and I can’t believe that an app that is supposed to help with things like that that people can’t control makes you pay $70 a year you might think that these people would be generous and let you at least have a few things unlocked but no literally every single thing is locked and you can’t use it unless you have the stupid extremely expensive subscription again this is especially insane because this is an app for people who have trouble falling asleep or anxiety and you make them pay for something they can’t control I feel like this app should be free or at least make it a $10 app because this is insane how much money you want people to pay so they can have better control on something that’s really hard for them to handle what you’re doing is greedy, selfish, and rude I honestly don’t know why there are so many good reviews about this because you literally cannot use anything without the expensive subscription other people might have enough money to pay for something like this but I definitely don’t have enough money to pay for something this expensive

Life changer: Perfect for Beginners. I made mindfulness and intention my goals for 2021 and wanted to start meditating but didn’t know how or where to begin. I searched mediation apps and found Calm to be top-rated. Although skeptical of the whole practice, I started my free trial. I was hooked after my first Daily Calm session. Meditating, I learned, isn’t difficult, doesn’t require any special energy, and packs a mighty self-care punch. This app helps you rest and recharge in 10 short minutes a day (or more if you like!) I love the messages Tamara embeds in the Daily Calm, I love the thought provoking ideas Jeff brings to Daily Trips, and sleep stories really do help us sleep! My 10 year old listens to one very single night. I’m especially excited about the new Calm Kids feature and look forward to more kid’s meditations. This app has introduced life changing practices to my family over the last 9 months and I’m so grateful. We’ll continue to renew each year. Would recommend for anyone 100%!

Love this app but has significant shortfall. Everything about this app is excellent. I used to dread laying in bed, trying to calm my mind for sleep, but now with the calm app I look forward to my sleep story and soundscape every night. However for the way I use calm there is one major shortfall in the app. There is no way to line up a queue or playlist of recordings. I will make it to the end of a sleep story, be close to sleep but not quite there and then have to search through the app again to turn on my soundscape. I know this doesn’t sound like a big deal but for me who has always had trouble falling asleep it is very disruptive. It is also disruptive when I use the app to help my 10 yr old son fall asleep- I put on a sleep meditation for him, but he always wants a sleep story to follow. I either have to stay in his room through the whole meditation so I can start the sleep story, or he has to climb down from his bunk bed to do it, disrupting the calm we just established with the meditation. This app is so thoughtful in so many ways I am surprised and disappointed they have not found a solution for this yet.
