The applications Garmin Smartphone Link was published
in the category Navigation on 2013-03-18 and
was developed by Garmin.
The file size is 42.60 MB.
The current version is 2.4.1 and works well on
9.3 and high ios versions.
We have further improved the stability of the app. Enjoy your drive!
This app just pops up while I'm working in another for absolutely NO reason. God only knows what else it does. Fix your crap before you go offering it to people 😡😡😡 uninstalling. The people who designed this must have done the garmins too!
1/21/17 Update 5/13/17 STILL not staying connected. Within 5 min of driving GPS displays iOS/IPhone disconnected. Live Traffic worked once for about 10 min and it disconnected. Very disgusted and am tempted to return and go back to TomTom and I thought they had bad CS/Quality!! I think it's time to sell my Garmin NüviCam to some poor soul. SHAME ON YOU GARMIN!
The app itself is kind of useless except for helping to connect to your Nuvi and allow it access to the Internet via your data connection. Clunky design for using the app itself. What is Foursquare? And if the added date and time to recents, plus sort, USEFULL!! HOWEVER I've only had my Nuvi for a few years.. I've owned NAVIGON for over five, with All options. I just found out that if the United is Not attached And you have NAVIGON If you try to navigate to a previous destination, it will open NAVIGON, plot the course, and go. There are hidden gems in this unrealized pile of Silicon directives, yet to be realized This could be flawless
This app is completely useless. Talk about lazy programming, it's not even a half-hearted effort. It hasn't been updated in ages. Garmin already has the lousiest interface on the planet in their GPS devices, and this app continues that philosophy. I'd be ashamed to post it in the App Store. I only paid $1000 for their lousy GPS, so maybe I shouldn't expect so much out of Garmin...
Second brand new $799 gps. Neither worked with this app. You're better off just using your iPhone. I'm embarrassed I spend so much money (and downloaded this app) to get a device that's supposed to do what iPhone already does seamlessly. This app and garmin current offerings don't do anything properly.
Why is the search db/results restricted to a close geographic proximity? It is easy to find addresses to resolve. Went on a road trip and the app would not find addresses that were fully entered (
So aggravating that it will not connect with my phone. That was one of the main features I liked to get traffic information and the reason I chose this Garmin.
Useless app. I just want to transfer address from phone to GPS, but the app only supports search by business.
Come on really. Brand new Garmin navigation device April release, fairly new phone, advertised on App Store, and ZERO compatibility. So much for traffic updates and ability to connect to EXTRA services. Might as well take this off the App Store.
Очень долго пересылает маршрут с телефона на навигатор.
I liked a @YouTube video Garmin 61 Smartphone link & Data charge
I have been unable to get a clean solid connection between 6+ and nuvi2589 When you select data only and do not want the 2589 answering the phone it disconnects or becomes too unstable to maintain connection. I wrote this up to support but no solution offered. But if you BT connect without the app the connection is solid. Hey Garmin I don't want my GPS to answer the phone.
The Garmin smartphone app struggled with the Live features after my update to iOS 10.2 with erratic functionality. Live traffic being the most important feature. I have the nuvi 3597, purchased to use the BT live features, especially HD Traffic. The Jan 4 app update claims the 3597 is supported. The message I get when attempting to connect via BT on my iPhone 7+ is that the nuvi 3597 device is NOT supported by iOS. Garmin needs to fix its app. Right now, iOS 10.2 says the nuvi 3597 is incompatible with a Bluetooth connection.
Connects well, I'm only using weather add-on. One thing which would be a nice improvement (are you listening Garmin?) would be the ability to TURN OFF small craft warnings. Unless you are using the BMW Nav V on a boat, there is no need to get constant "small craft advisory" warnings when I'm 50 miles from the ocean! So slow to update data to the GPS and unreliable coverages.
This app needs alot of improvements. Especially when finding a location. Will not take addresses. It needs a better map on it. There is more. Just no time to keep going.
This app used to work pretty well. Some minor mishaps, but overall, very functional. Before the update, I had purchased LiveTraffic (which is now free with the latest app release) and it was working ok. Now my Garmin will only use the FM traffic and not the LiveTraffic, even though all other live services are connected. I'm going to assume it's a bug with this new app because LiveTraffic was functioning fine before. Hope Garmin resolves this soon.
This is an ok app It does what I've wanted for a long time to send location to the Nubia. Unfortunately it won't connect with at all
Haven't had much luck with this app really hard to input addresses or locations interface an UI is really bad
Got the app and bought the weather subscription thinking I would have weather on my Kenwood DNX571TR. Not happening, despite a good bluetooth connection between devices. Worse is there is apparently no way to get a refund!!! There ought to be a law.
Will not connect to smart link???? Blue tooth connected with phone but not the app
No matter what I do the app won't recognize the compatible Garmin. Done all the troubleshooting steps as few there are. It will connect to BT but the app still fails to recognize the navigator.
