Best study app available. I have been using Esword since the days of Windows XP. Even bought the cd as a donation because this is an awesome ministry. Over the years it has been priceless for my Bible study.I have tried many others that do a good job,but I always come back to Esword.

Great Study Tool. My old review is below. I would like to add that eSword is better than ever. I now use it for my only bible app. I have, at a tap of a finger, different bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, maps, etc. I rarely buy apps, but I would pay a subscription for this one. INVALUABLE! Old review follows and still applies: I have eSword running on my PC, iPhone, and iPad. When I read the bible I often find I need assistance to better understand...eSword Commentaries are there for me. The definitions, maps, and multiple versions of the bible are also extremely helpful. If you are unsure about it, try it on your PC for free before you spend a very reasonable amount to install it on your electronic devices...

Okay app, but overpriced and questionable sales model.. Decent app for bible reading, but it doesn’t make it super easy to follow strong’s concordance while reading. This app would benefit from a multi-pane UI similar to the desktop app - at least on iPad. The app also requires you to pay separately for the iPhone vs iPad version, which feels a bit shady to say the least. Leaves me feeling like I shouldn’t have donated on PC knowing I had to pay for the same iOS app twice but whatever, I guess.

Wonderful. First of all, I have only one good eye, so the electronic Bible is, literally, a Godsend. Other than that, I love this App so much that I switched from one I’ve used for thirty years. Well, that’s on my computer, and I still use it when I’m writing and because of my notes. This e-sword is on my iPad and phone so it’s always available. This App is very easy to use and has so a great many Resources. It’s always a real joy to study God’s Word, but this makes it more so. From different versions of the Bible to Concordances and Lexicons, answers to questions is are quickly and easily found. I read Spurgeon’s “Morning and Evening” and John Smith’s Commentary every day just for pleasure. He’s very interesting, down to earth and easy to read.

The Best Bible Software. Ok so “this is the best one”. Get this one even if it costs a few dollars. If you can’t stand to spend the money then get BLB for free, but BLB doesn’t do as much. So far I see only one feature missing which is the ability to copy multiple formatted verses at once or append to the clipboard.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED. E-Sword has everything you need, everything you want, and then you keep finding more things you can see and do with the app. Perhaps the most significant and helpful thing for me is the side by side “parallel” display of KJV, NASB, and ERV versions (or any versions you choose). Also the search feature. Anyone would love e-Sword. It makes Bible study easier and more interesting because of all the helpful features.

Is it possible. This app is awesome, but i was wondering one thing. Is it ossicle to move the bar that holds Bible, Commentary, dictionary, ect... can that bar be optional to move to the side or top. I use a keyboard when using the app and its hard to see the bar and move from editor to Bible, commentary, dictionary,ect... when using the keyboard because the auto correct for spelling when writing covers the bar. Just a thought.

Best Overall. I love this Bible app, I have used e-Sword for a number of years. I have downloaded others at times, but always come back. In reading other reviews, I noticed others have wished it would sync between devices. I also wish it would. I would also like to be able to move around in the same book with less steps. Example: If I am in Romans 2 and want to look at a verse in Romans 8, I either have to click through the chapters or go to a list of all books again, choose Romans and then 8. In spite of not having those two things I want, it is still best overall for me! Thanks!

Not only does this app have everything you need in one place, the service and help received, in my experience has been excellent! I have asked questions, given my thoughts, and reported issues, and every time I have had a quick response. This app is used by thousands, but yet Rick has responded himself. I don’t know how! Love it. I always used this Bible on the computer. I’m happy to see it for iPad. Highly recommend it if your are looking to dig deeper in the Word specially because of its additional free resources like the Strong’s Numbers. Shame on the paid resources sold by the “avid” Publishers selling the electronic Word of God for such high prices. Ignore them...buy this app and use its free content because it’s already great!

Love the side by side translations. It's easy to understand the fuller meaning of the scripture passage. I also like being able to have the concordance ready at any time. I would have given it 5 stars but the notes feature isn't as easy to use as some other Bible apps.

Check out this app. Here’s why!. At first I though it was no different then the one I’m using. Wrong, yes it was a bit hard to figure out, but after looking at the examples in the app page, then testing them out walla, it all comes together. Great job Rick Meyers. Best in Class!. I’ve used e-Sword on various devices for many years. The layout is excellent, getting around is intuitive, and one does not need to be online to access the library once a title has been downloaded to the device. Once the app has been purchased, there are many free and excellent resources to add to your e-Sword library. Some resources must be purchased, but one can easily get by with the free resources. Unfortunately, some people complain about this, and others complain that the app isn’t free. Yet, I wonder if those who take the time to write a review to complain about such things work for their employer for free. There is no such thing as a free lunch or a free app. The “free” apps that so many feel entitled to are paid for either via ad revenue or data harvesting. On the contrary, the dev of e-Sword actually respects your privacy and does not collect any data at all via the app, which is a rarity, even among Bible apps. I don’t add many apps to my devices, but those I do add must not be free, must not collect data, must be consistently stable, and must be a necessity. Needless to say, very few apps meet my criteria. E-Sword is at the very top of my list and has continued to be so for many years now. I would not choose to be without it!

even better than the PC or MAC versions. i love the tagged verses option especially with the ability to add my own tags. I have 150+ different tags and have thousands of tagged verses. the only problem is that there is no way to export the tags to a different version of esword or to a text file. But still it is a great way of making my own topical concordance with the topics that are important to me. Also, i really like the parallel views so i can see several different Bible versions of the same verses. That enriches my understanding of the Scriptures. And the compare feature gives you every installed Bible version of the particular verse. That’s very helpful at times with difficult verses. And the links to the Greek and Hebrew are essential at times. these last three features are in every esword version but the tagging feature is only on the ipad, so of course i use my ipad for most of my Bible study. it would be nice to have the tags available on all platforms and exportable, but of course that takes money and time. So please download this version and donate! The time is short! Rev 22:7.

One Fix. I appreciate so much all the work that has gone into Esword, and the modules available. Truly the kingdom has been advanced in wonderful ways through this. I notice a new update was completed, and there is still one serious problem with it. When one is in Editor mode on a tablet, with a keyboard attached, it is very difficult to get back to the rest of the app -- the editing functions get in the way of the app buttons on the bottom of the screen. It's only a problem with a keyboard linked, but I would love to see that worked out somehow. Thanks so much, Rick!

Disappointed that you need to pay extra for most popular versions. I rarely pay for an app. But heard great things about this app as a study bible and was excited to use it. I bought it and then realized that the versions that are most popular you need to pay to “unlock” them. If I had known, I probably would not have purchased this app. Very disappointed

A Must-Have for the student of the Bible. This is an amazing app and reference tool. It works flawlessly and quickly. You can have more than one free Bible version, commentaries, references, atlases. Commentaries are broken down by Book, Chapter, Verse. Highly recommend downloading TSK cross reference tool and KJV+ with the Strong notes.

Best bible study tool!. This is by far the BEST electronic study tool available. I'm amazed at all the ways to use it. It's simple to use and accurate. Love the truth and seek His face! I've learned so much and grown in understanding by the Holy Spirit and being able to search the Hebrew and Greek meanings of words and they're application and so much more in this tool. Truly blessed.

Love this app!. I have totally given up my printed Bible. This app has even better Strong’s coverage than my Hebrew-Greek Study Bible. It’s also a LOT lighter. Thanks to the recent update, there are now 9 highlighter colors!! This is a great, comprehensive app. I never knew about the BRG-KJV version before, but it’s great to have all God’s words indicated. I tried a few Bible apps. If you love studying the Word for yourself, like me, you’ll love it. This is my favorite! I contacted E-Sword about darker, larger lettering, and got this response the same day: “Tap the *menu* button, then tap the "Display Settings" menu item. Now you can change the text size and font used.”

eSword Best And Most Efficient Scripture Learning Tool To Date. eSword is simply brilliant. I have been studying Scripture for 30 years and eSword brings a depth and power to go as deep as one desires into any verse, chapter, and/or book. The effortless 10-Color Highlighting is a boon for focusing on specific verses...and organizing specific topics through the Highlight Color Search. The Customizable Tags allow for one to organize any subject(s) they choose to pursue. And the Notes, WoW, I can get a lot of information and link it to verses which aide me in understanding the True Impact of Scripture. The modules that one can purchase allow one to go into even greater depth. All these features are a great benefit in learning Scripture to infinite degrees. I think eSword would be a basic reader if one does not use the powerful tools efficiently. If one uses the powerful tools efficiently then Scripture will come to life like never before. The creator of eSword whom I believe is a Mr. Rick Meyers is obviously brilliant.

YOU ARE AWSOME DUDE. I have been using e-Sword HD since version four. I have nothing but gratitude and high praises for your work. Rarely can someone say that their ministry efforts of literally touched the whole world. You are one of the few who can say that. It is absolutely amazing to me that e-sword had such powerful tools for free when many "paid for" Bible software cannot even compare to the Bibles and vital resources you offer for free. I only have one request that does not affect my desire to give you five stars. I use text to voice software quite frequently. Normally, I am able to highlight various amounts of text and I am able to translate that and he spoken word using the software I have. But I cannot do this using e-Sword HD. Because it prevents me from even having the option. It's great that there is an audio Bible. But, I need the voice software to read commentary to me as there is no audio resource for that. VOICE RECORDING. I love this app as I been using for more than 10 years now (I think). But I only have one wish, to have a voice recording. It will really help to give more detail with additional comments, reminder or more detail for notes. Please add voice recording while doing notes on “topic” from Editor tab.

Locked up. I use e-Sword on my phone and computer and recently downloaded HD to my iPad. It is locked up on the Bible page. It’s in the multi-view and won’t switch to a different view. Also, it will not change the Bible; neither the translation or the reference. I can select the translation and reference in the tool bar but the view doesn’t respond. Everything else seems to work. Is it possible to reload it?

By Far the most Superior Bible App. I have been using esword on my iphone and laptop for a long time. I just recently got an ipad and have been using the ipad version of esword as well. This is BY FAR the most superior bible app out there. This app has made my fellow Pastor’s wonder how I know so much about the word but I must give credit to esword and just how easy it is for all of my resources, bibles, commentaries, etc to be organized and available. I recommend esword to all of the professors and students at the Bible Institute I teach at. Because esword is only available to apple products and computers I will never leave apple. I think apple should write esword a big check because I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Thank you. Amazing app, with so many options and customization. I agree that device sync would be a helpful feature, but consider the fact that the apps that use this feature (almost all apps now) collect your personal info and you become a product they sell. Maybe Rick doesn’t do this out of his high ethical standards. I understand he works very hard on this app, so thank you Rick!

Latest Copy Feature Is GREAT!. Thank you, thank you for adding the copy verse(s) feature. I didn’t realize it had been added until I stumbled into it and I almost shouted hallelujah. This simple feature is what I missed most from the desktop (both Windows and Mac) versions. Now I can easily copy verses into my Keynote’s for my sermons. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Please Add Cloud/Multi Device Synching! This is the #1 App BUT Needs One Final Update. Please, when will there be cloud syncing? There are various of us note takers who make select highlights etc in one device and it doesn’t transfer. This would be my Bible App and main source of information if there was multi platform integration.

A gift from God. e-Sword is truly one of God’s many and varied gifts. I’m a pastor in western Pennsylvania and e-Sword is the only Bible software I use for sermon preparation—it has all that’s needed! I became so used to it years ago prior to seminary. While I was in training many other Bible study programs were spoken of and recommended, but to me e-Sword’s maneuverability, extension, availability, and accessibility increase productivity sufficiently in study. This is my second positive review in about 4-5 years. Richest blessings on Richard Meyers and any person who has assisted him in bringing e-Sword to students of Scripture.

Updates most successful. I had been hoping I could hear how to pronounce the Greek and Hebrew words Now I can easily hear. Thank you. Also I wanted the have maps that were easier to find specific locations. Now your updates allow me to click a location and see instantly where it is. Then I can zoom in or out and see the relationship to other areas. Just great. I love it and needed this. Now I’d like to see a distance scale to show how far one location is from the other. This is by far the most complete Bible App available on the internet. The Passion Translation is so useful and brings great revelation. Any chance you could include the Brian Simmons notes with it or make them available.

This app is a pleasure to use. Sept 2017 - The night mode was fixed quickly. I am once again enjoying this app. Also, the search function has greatly improved. I am learning Vietnamese and it would not search using Vietnamese words. But now it does. And the search results are much easier to navigate than before. This app not only has most of the functionality I liked in the Windows program, but it is quickly taking on most of the functionality of the better iPad apps. Being willing to pay money for a good app also means getting an app that is not only ad free but is also being continually improved. Many thanks! Earlier- I still love this app and it's still my favorite Bible app. But the recent version messed up the night mode. It has a bright strip on the top and the bottom and the letters are way too bright. So until those are fixed I've had to change to another bible app for easier reading, as I read quite early in the morning. Otherwise it's a really good app and I regret having to change. First rating - I've used e-sword for years on my laptop. And was glad when it was available on iPad. I haven't used a lot of different bible apps. And this is the only paid bible app I've purchased. But I have been very happy with it. It feels familiar to the pc version but with the iPad format. It seems very stable and well built. It was worth the money to get a good investment.

E-sword Bible. E-sword is amazing! I enjoy using e-sword on my ipad! The ability to enlarge or change the font makes it very easy on the eyes, and it has about any version of the Bible you may want! I love the way you can look up any passage by a phrase or few words. The Strong's concordance included is also very easy to use! Thanks for making such a great study tool!

Complete Rip-Off Alert, Nothing Like Mac App. You pay for the “HD” app and think you might have gotten one of the worlds most reliable and popular English versions, the NKJV, and you don’t. In fact, most of the English versions this group figures will be bought, are sold for $15+ each, and every other version is free... Not sure if that means they support all of these versions or what, because quite a few of them are not public domain, like the ESV. As a Messianic Jew, I simply cannot reccommend an app that clearly favors all anti-Jewish versions. Try Tecarta. It’s better organized, has quite a few more features that are easier to use, it’s fast syncing and I’ve never had a problem with their cloud or my iCloud sync, unlike this app, AND they offer nearly every version for alot less, if not free, especially versions that do not taint the Bible for some neutral pronoun agenda. ☺️

The Word. Having a desire to study God’s Word with E-Sword giving me commentaries, different Bibles and Strong’s Concordance makes studying scriptures so easy. I started using E-Sword in 2003 and downloaded the latest version for my IPad allowing me to have all my treasured bibles and other study materials with me wherever I go.

E-Sword. I have been using E-Sword since its infancy and beginnings in the early 90's till now. I am 63 and it's availability and choices are better than the expensive "packages" which you can spend hundreds, even thousands to purchase. The packages has useless books which no one has ever heard of and are worthless as a bucket under a bull. The ability to choose which resources you wan to purchase or not is a plus. Thank you for service to those who love to "study the Word".

Almost perfect!!!! - Dev’s > Please read this!. This Bible study is the best there is! From the layout to the plethora of free resources (more than enough to do serious Bible studying). This is hands down the best (and I’ve tried Logos, Accordance, Olive Tree, Tecarta Bible, Blue Letter Bible, and others). The benefits of E-Sword are too many to count. The ONLY downside to this program is that it doesn’t include a Hebrew Interlinear Bible that parses the Hebrew / Aramaic words in the Old Testament. I would have liked a resource to see the tense, mode, gender, number, etc.. of the words. This program has the Greek interlinear for the New Testament. Please Devs, read this and get the resource added! Thanks!

More content for Spanish. Please, we need more content in Spanish, and sometimes when I read and scroll down in the final of the chapter the app don’t move the scroll, I have tap the screen 2 times for the reaction, sorry for my English. And when I have select 1 bible in Spanish in student mode, the Bible with strong appears in English and I can’t change this, I could change this option. I mean I could change the version bible with strong numbers. Thanks.

Great response from the developer. My wife and I have been using this app for a few years and truly love it. We recently had some issues with the app and wrote the support team and the response was immediate and thorough. Kept me informed at every step while troubleshooting the issue and then wrote me with a detailed explanation of the problem and fix. Then quickly issued an update and fixed the problem. God bless them! Thank you for a great app! Any body know of a bible app that allows the audio playback of single verses instead of the whole chapter? I would love to be able to play particular verses in any order I want, just cannot find an app that supports that yet. J.S.

Nice Bible Study Program. Very nice Bible study program. I would have given it 5 stars, but I find the "highlighting" and "Tagging" features somewhat cumbersome to use. It would be nice to be able to choose between seeing all highlights, highlights according to book, or highlights according to color. Having to go through all the highlights to find a specific one is tedious. I do a lot of highlighting.

Would be perfect if…. This is a good app with great resources. The resources are quality and well-priced. However, the app would be perfect if it had some UI changes to make the user experience more efficient. Here are a few features that other apps have that would improve the user experience make this app the hands-down go to Bible app on any platform: 1. Strong’s Numbers link embedded into the words, 2. Making the resources more easily accessible via a link at the end of each verse to access relevant commentaries and cross-references. 3. Allowing full-screen view for a more uninterrupted flow of the text. 4. Lastly, horizontal page swiping navigation will help readers keep their place easier as they read though the text.

A good entry into the electronic Bible space. This is a simple and basic electronic Bible. The e-sword company is putting all their energy into their desktop application and have done an acceptable job porting their work to the iPhone and iPad. One thing that is lacking, and thus the 4 stars, is that there is no documentation or explanation on how to use the mobile apps. For example, there is a “Bible study” screen that puts various books in windows on the iPad screen. This is great. However there is no way to know that the books are, or how to change the books. If I want a different Bible or commentary, there does not seem to be a way to change them. If there is a way, it is hidden, since, as I said, there I no help built into this app.

Great study Bible. I have been using e-sword every since it first came out, it did have all the Bible's and commentary, dictionary's that it has today but it was friendly user, I have been in love the Bible study since the beginning. This App IS THE BEST. I have searched for many Bible Apps in the apps store and this one is by FAR the most complete. Every you need for bible study is here readily available and at no extra cost.....Strong’s concordance, Mathew Henry Bible Commentary(as well as many others), Bible Dictionaries, books and devotionals such as CH Spurgeon Morning and Evening devotional, Foxes Book of Martyrs, Works of Josephus and more! The app has a built in reader so you can listen while reading, I allows for the Split Screen function with in OS 11 (which You Version does not have as of this review). This app has it all! The only thing in my opinion that You Version has on this app, is the many bible reading plans which offer a easy daily schedule and ability to track your reading, in which you can share access with others making the networking easily available. HOWEVER that is certainly the most Complete Bible App out there for free and everything is easy to use. Wonderful job to the developer! EE. This is the best app of its kind available, but I think it is missing something. I am asking if it is possible to make available a pointed( with vowels) version of the Hebrew Masoretic along with Strong’s numbers. E-sword has been a blessing to me for many years, and I have been longing to see a pointed Hebrew version for years. The Westminster Leningrad codex/ Textus Receptus is a great version that I have seen on many apps.

A very useful help in studying the Bible. I work with the full version on my laptop, and the mobile version on my phone and tablet. They work very well. I like having access to the Strong's reference, and I have added both translations and references to the full version. Although the additions did have a cost to access them, it was well worth it compared to the cost of all other Bible software that offers as many features.

Love it.. I have the laptop version as well as the iPad app. Don’t know which I like best. They both have their advantages. I wish there was a sign in that allowed you to see what you did on one version on the other without sending it. Then you would always need internet though and I like being able to work without it. The one problem I really do have is that I have to remember to save my notes. There is no automatic save or even a reminder to save when you exit the note. It’s easy to lose a whole note if you forget.

Great. An outstanding app, for people who want to learn and grow in the knowledge of God, this is the only app. You need, you can upload many commentaries to it and take them wherever you go, no internet is required to use it and study. The people who have developed this tool are very talented and have done an amazing job. God bless you all.

Has potential, but lacking.... This is a great app, let me be clear. This is a GREAT study tool and the resources as some of the best out there. The many features of the app are stellar and the ability to customize the interface, to a certain extent is really nice. There is just one, in my opinion, MAJOR issue the e-sword HD has and that is the ability to sync between devices. Since it started on the PC it has not “migrated” well into the Apple ecosystem as far as being “integrated” and sync able between devices like pretty much EVERY OTHER Bible software out there. I have yet to find any documentation on how to accomplish this with any kind of workaround. I read in several places that one needs to use something like iCloud or another online storage solution. That’s great, but there is no documentation on how to do this. The forums for e-sword are full of people who never got their questions answered and a couple of extremely rude individuals who are so full of themselves they should be banned from participating... So, if you are not needing to use the tool on multiple devices, this is great for you. If you want synching capabilities, go elsewhere. I had high hopes for this app, but it seems like I am going to need to go back to PocketBible since they have seamless synching capabilities with great customer service.

Good stuff. Limited in resource selection compared to other apps (Logos, Olive Tree, Accordance, etc.), the resources that *are* available tend to be significantly less expensive than they are in other apps. Compared to some other web-based apps, I like having my purchased content downloaded locally so I'm not reliant on internet access to study.

Great app. I have been using this app for years. Just updated a few minutes ago and now when I copy and paste notes or definitions from Lexicon it does not hyper link the reference scriptures when I paste. I can no longer click on verse from the notes and look at the scripture. I will have to leave the page and type in the scripture to read it versus it letting the scripture pop up and I easily click the back button to go back to the notes. Please fix this. It is so convenient. Fixed the same night. I sent an email and He said he would look into it that day and he had it fixed that night.

Magnifico. I have had this Bible program for some years now. It has been a blessing for me and many of my friends. I have heard nothing but thanks and Gloria A Dios for it. Deserves better rating from me. e-Sword program deserves a better rating than what I am giving it at present. I value not just the app but the heart of the man who freely gave of his time and talents to produce this product in earlier formats for PC. A man whose heart has been to trust God to move the hearts of others to support the on going development and distribution of God's Word and also many helpful Bible guides. I was waiting for the App to be available on a platform I was using. I am so glad it is now! The present difficulty I have is turning off the word meanings(numbers between the text).That is not a failure of the program but something for me to learn.

Easy to use. I love simple and easy and this program is just that. It is easy to navigate and get the results you are looking for, if it be reading, studying, exploring. Highly recommended.

Excellent Study Tool On The Go. This app is fantastic! I'm a long-term eSword PC user and this was the first app I downloaded after getting an iPad for my birthday. I was able to copy across all the user modules I'd downloaded for PC and Mac (with a little work, I'll admit) and now I have an entire library at my fingertips everywhere I go, and it's all cross-referenced. Like any app, there are improvements that could be made, but over all I highly recommend this app to any Bible student. Many thanks to Rick for all the work that he has put into the programmes and apps over the years.

Everything at your finger tips. I've been using E-sword for years on my PC and was thrilled when it became available on the iPad! It's great to have access to so many resources whenever I am travelling.

Mrs. Great app!!! I have been blessed so much in my bible studies through this app; having the Greek and Hebrew concordances at my finger tips has increased my knowledge of the bible greatly!...thax to all those involved in creating "e sword" and God bless...Mat 24:14    "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come".

All but.... I guess I'm used to the PC version but after using the iPad version for a year now I have the following comments. This would be a great 5 star app if the 'book and verse' index were more intuitive. Trying to find your book reference both across and down is much less intuitive than just scrolling down a list. The same goes for the chapter and verse indexes. Having to load a new concordance every time you switch from the OT or NT is also quite inconvenient. Also, not sure why a split screen isn't used to reference the editors. I have two large Apps on Physiology and Anatomy, and the other a 100 volume plus reference work, that have these features. I have supported this Ministry because of the great work they do, and will continue to do so, but everything can be improved. : )

E-sword. The E-sword app is a great tool to study the Bible. I love it. It's easy to use and best of all you can mark your favourite passages. I also find it so easy to find a verse or passage instead of spending time flicking thru the pages, I love it.

Excellent. Excellent app, especially for the low price. Windows version is better than iPad version. Would be more user friendly if new notes could be open from the Bible page rather than having to open a new note page using verse location. Otherwise a great application.

Excellent Bible resource. E-Sword is an excellent product. I have been using it for years, and love the availability of so many versions of the Scriptures as well as commentaries and other reference works. The fact that it can be used across platforms so easily, without the need to re-purchase those modules which are copyright is just brilliant. Searching can be simple or complex, depending on the needs of the moment, and is governed by a simple user interface. Brilliant product.

E Sword. The E sword is the best bible ever. Gives a lot of information it lets you compare different versions of the Bible. The information is endless. I recommend it to anyone. My Jesus Bless you all.

E-Sword for IPad. There are many Bible apps around, and after looking at many of them, the one I use is E-Sword. It allows me to prepare for sermons and tag passages to use. It is also perfect for my personal devotions and research.

Other language content. I love E-Sword and have been using it for years, including the Windows mobile version. I miss one thing, where are the foreign language bibles? I have bought other bible applications for the iPad which are English only. I really hoped after paying for E-Sword that I can download the Afrikaans bible? When will this be available?

Fantastic app. This is a great application that gives me most of what I have on my desktop version with the portability available in my iPad. It's great for study, research and just plain reading the word. When reading its enjoyable to compare my favourite NASB with other translations and follow through into with commentaries. I have tried others this is the best.

Truly excellent.. I’ve been using this app for several years and the PC version even longer. It is truly an excellent resource of versions, commentaries, devotions, and dictionaries, and it’s easy to use. I also love the external resources for more versions etc. It is very popular for good reason.

Great Resource for Serious Bible study. I've been using and recommending e-sword as it provides almost everything you need to dig deep into the bible to see God's hand at work, His truth revealed and His love manifested. Thank you Rick Meyers to the foundation you provide in the building of God's Kingdom! The choice of bibles is great but you will have to purchase some versions depending on what you want. I find using the KJV + very good to have quick reference to the Greek and Hebrew text. The Greek NT also provides great parsing for those studying in the Greek. Only set back is that highlighting In the bible is limited to the whole verse and not just highlighted words as in the previous version. I miss that feature. Highly recommend this as it. An be used off line, and is very easy to use and you can keep your own notes by topic or by verse! Other AIDS are the commentary, maps, dictionary and devotions. Explore and enjoy. See how much God has provided and grow in his grace!

eSword by Rick Myers. What an excellent app. I have used it on both iPhone and iPad for study for several years and it has delivered everything I have asked. No issues at all with reference material and commentary. Recommend it to anyone.

A good Bible reference. This Bible & reference app is very useful. It would be more powerful if it had all the Strongs reference numbers, also noun and verb parsing and tense. Some of the reference material appears to not open in context from the verse / word selected, but still good to have the references to use. I love the Pulpit Commentary, Vines etc. Imperative to keep it all downloadable for usage offline.

Great app. Love this app. I have the pc version on my laptop and use it all the time. The portability of a tablet that now has esword is fantastic. None better than e-Sword. I have used this program on PC and MAC for many years, and am totally delighted to find it available for iPad too. There is simply no better program out there for me. The access to numerous free Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, Devotions and More makes this a FIVE STARR APP in my view.

Go to Concordance. I have E-sword because of it's search function. I have been using E-sword as a reference for many years. I used it as a free application on Windows and now I have bought it for my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. Very grateful that Mr. Meyers made his product available in its fullness to Apple users. I also use other Apps that cover the language options that I need, and give the option of audio. When I need to find a verse in the KJV however, I go to E-sword always. John B.

Great app. Great app. I use it at our meetings and check some of the words used in the scriptures against strongs' and quickly get the sense of the word as used in the biblical context- the refer back to the parallel translations to get a real time overview-goods work guys

Amazing. I waited so long for this to come out and the final product is simple, intuitive and incredibly well designed. I used GLO bible before but this just makes bible study so much more accessible. An amazing adaptation of the desktop version!

The best bible study app on the market. This app is an invaluable tool for general reading and study. It is so easy to navigate. It is not "heavy" and doesn't lag like other apps I have tried. It really is the best all in one tool. I don't need any other resource. The price to purchase add on's is very reasonable and I like that they are transferable between my iPad and my PC. If you want to get "geeky" you can add your own reading plans and other stuff. I would personally like to thank the author for his labours in making such a wonderful resource available.

Critique. It's annoying that you have to buy the app before you can try it out. There is no text to speech reader. The KJV is not the genuine KJV but is an 'update'. You feel ripped off. Also I had to write this feedback 3 times because every time it tells me my 'nickname' is taken instead of allowing me to alter it, it makes me go back to the beginning again. - pretty poor effort.. What's with the 'nickname' anyway? Has it something to do with old nick?

Great App. My needs are fairly simple so this feedback is quite limited - but I really like using this app. I have already purchased extra Bibles through it and am very pleased that I now have electronic versions of my favourite translations (NASB, AMP & TLB). There are also plenty more translations to choose from, including several that are free. The search functionality is good and the app is logically laid out. I would highly recommend it to anyone who values having access to their favourite translation that they can easily search.

The absolute BEST Bible App you can get. To me clarity, speed and smoothness of search engine and program, hyperlinks cross referencing and fonts are things I look for in a Bible app for research purposes. This is it! Along with commentaries like Dake, I can get speedily and clearly, get all the information I require on a topic. A lot of Bible programs have bad fonts and/or lag badly, or don’t have clear headings etc. Bur eSword is perfect for myself for research purposes and I really feel that this organisation is genuine not just after your $$ because they have done a lot of hard work or commissioned someone to do it, in order to provide “excellence”. Great. This is a great program that I have been using on the PC for many years. This program could be improved in the menu system department (bit complicated for the computer novice) and the user may not get the full use of this otherwise exelent program. Of course this program could never be as good as the PC version Ipad is to limited for that. Thank you for keeping the price so low. ps. The help system could also be improved.

A Must Have for Serious Bible Lovers. I use this app on my Sunday School teachings and it helps me a lot with my study. I don't need to carry a lot of books with me, everything is here on this app. A must have for serious bible students and those who love the scriptures.

A great App with many great features.. Yep. 5 stars. It provides what I need in my Bible study, research and resources, all in the one app. It will become 6 stars when I can paste a Bible reference from another doco or website into "reference" and go straight to that place in the Bible and check out the verse in its context—needed for proper exegesis (rather than a convenient prop to make a dodgy point). You can paste such a Bible reference into a note and turn it into a link and that is useful—however it is indirect.

Best Bible apps.. The best Bible apps I ever found helpful in my Christian experience. I've been using it for 5 years now and I think I won't have a chance to use other bible apps I've downloaded. It's so versatile and so integrated almost everything I need is in here!

Excellent Bible program. E-sword is likely the best Bible program that I have ever used. At your disposal is multiple Bible translations, commentaries, dictionaries, devotional books, and so much more. On top that, word searches can be done very easily, making Bible study efficient and enjoyable. I will certainly continue to recommend e-sword as a reliable program for Bible study.

The best. I have been using e-sword for about 10 years now, and I still love it. It is usually the first program to be downloaded on my PC after a crash, or a new device or laptop, etc. I have had no problems with it. Very dependable. Basic Bible. This is a basic Bible app without a lot of bells and whistles. The add on modules are very well priced but some of the books could use page numbers as far as I can tell. Nonetheless functional and useful providing basic Biblical references and software.

Praise God for e-sword. I love e-sword for my iPad mini, it is a wonderful tool for bible study, that I take with me wherever I go. At work on my breaks and lunchtime I can read and meditate upon God's Word. I log some study notes, and there are great commentaries I can access quickly that help me see what godly men of old believed. There are also some very inspiring daily devotional I really like. All together great app for any Christian to have. I also have the PC version which I also like it has a daily bible reading plan I can tailor and follow, which I wish was included in the ipad app.

Sword Bible. app.. This app. Is very well laid out and useful. One exception that I have is to copy verses together and print them. The bible help, for the verses you are looking at is very good too. I am happy with this App.

extremely useful Bible study aid. The interfacing of Bibles with dictionaries, commentaries, notes, and other study aids provides quick, useful, and fairly comprehensive help in various Bible study and referencing situations. The ability to add in other independently-prepared denominationally-tied study aids was an additional bonus, but now, especially on HD for Apple products, installation of those has unfortunately become too complicated to be of use. Nevertheless, this is overall a five-star app

Esword finally on Mac. I've used esword for wells over a decade on pc and am so glad it's available for the iPad and it syncs with all my purchased commentaries which is excellent. Thanks so much for all the hard work and sacrifice that went into making this Rick.

Highly recommend this app. I use e-sword daily in my personal devotions and weekly as part of my sermon preparation. A clean user interface, powerful programming, and robust study modules combine for a terrific overall experience. The only thing keeping it from a full 5-star rating from me is the inability to sync notes across devices. I know the software itself is and always has been made available at no charge, but I would quickly and gladly support a "premium" edition which would allow for syncing across multiple software platforms, namely iOS and PC. Thanks so much for a truly GREAT product!

The best. I have used E-Sword on my PC for a number of years and it has always been my favourite bible software. Since it has been ported to mobile devices it is still the only bible app I use. It is feature rich and easy to use. Downloading of bible versions and resources work seamlessly. As well, the developers continue to update and enhance the software. I had a technical issue with the app regarding IOS compatibility and to my surprise the developer resolved issue in less than 24 hours of submitting the problem. There are some good bible software apps out there, but E-Sword continues to be my favourite for all the above reasons. Many thanks to the developers for this great app!

This app brings you closer to God faster!!. I have plenty of uses for the iPad but if all that was on this thing was e-sword HD, it would be well worth the price. I have paper bibles and love reading them as well but having the commentary, parallel references, and the touch of the pencil to locate a verse is simply effortless. Tagging verses and making new categories are my favourite features. I print verses and memorize and meditate on them in the day and use the night mode on the app to study at night. Easy to Use. The only issue I have is that it doesn't save automatically. I have run into the 'ol forgot to save routine.... and lost all my progress when note taking during a sermon. >.< Overall though, great and awesome app!

Long time user!. I've used e-sword for many years on both computer and iPad. It's certainly my "go-to" resource! I've always appreciated the effort that has gone into making such a useful tool for study and research. On a scale of 1 to 10' it scores a "well gone my good and faithful servant".

Is Falling. At first it was a great app, but lately it is just not responding as usual. Non of my paid download are active even if I ask for a reactive email and try to reinstall doesn’t work. I’ve paid two time for the same download and still not able to install. I also send an email to support still no one has responded to me .

Like the other snake companies, they didn't add Apocrypha. Like the other snake companies, they didn't add Apocrypha. I gave them my hard earned money and then instantly looked to see if the KJV Apocrypha was at least capable of being added on. Nope. They give the ILLUSION of options, but in reality those options must line up with what they want you to have access to and be informed on. Uninstalled immediately. Enjoy my money, snakes.

None Other Compares. I have used E-SWORD for years on my computer,phone and now my iPad. It is by far the best program there is. I love to do Hebrew and Greek word studies and with E-Sword it is a lot easier than using my strongs concordance.

Thankful!. I am so thankful for the great help e-sword has been in my study of the Bible. There are great commentaries and dictionaries too! Best budget bible study app. I have been using this resources for almost 10 years. Very helpful. And it's free (at least on Windows) and affordable for Mac users. If you want a scholars understanding of the scripture. This is where to start and almost end!

Their is nothing better out there. Use it everyday preparing Bible studies. There are more functions that make it easy to move through with very little time needed to start enjoying this Application. God Bless Rick and Thank you.

Wonderful Bible App. I love this bible app, it's my favorite. It as so many wonderful free elements...bible versions, dictionaries, concordances, commentaries from various theological perspectives, as well as free books. Easy to navigate with search and ability to save and print notes. I highly recommend this app.

Great app.. Excellent work on this app. Versatile and intuitive. Great help for Bible study. The variety of free add-ins is remarkable. Might be considered the best free app out there. Used on iPad. Have used the desktop version for several years.

Reference. Reference, I have found this to be one of the best bibles when you are looking for a scripture verse and can,t remember where it is located

No Support. Love the app but you can’t get support. I purchased the NKJV version some time ago and when I updated the app about three weeks to a month ago I lost that version that I paid for. The only way to contact support is through the website. I have used the support portal three or four times now but can’t get any help. Guess I threw my money away.

Notes went away. Great app, but the notes option is gone. The notes I took are still there, but I cannot add any.

Great Study. I love the ability to configure this study program to be able to study the Bible at any level you want. The program is a great blessing from God to all who use it. Frank

E-Sword. This is an excellent app, highly efficient and easy to use. This app is so great that I bought two more apple devices to be able to have a backup and to help somebody else to have the joy of using this app and the word document app.

The best bible app out there.. Love this app! I use it on my Mac, my iPhone, and my iPad. Great for studying, preparing, or just following along a sermon. One feature request: let Editor or Study Notes support the Apple Pencil on the iPad Pro! I want to write my notes, not type them.

Use everyday. Best app, integrated audio, with the Strongs concordance. Tremendous work and effort by Rick Myers, Glad to see audio we spoke about better than ever.

Got Strong’s?. I recently bought the ESV Hebrew - Greek Keyword Study Bible Coded with Strong’s numbers and was hoping that the Strong’s numbers would’ve been included in this app for the ESV Bible as well. Any updates on that coming soon?

Excellent study tool!. I have used Esword for years and it has great comparisons, commentaries and ability to take notes.

Won’t open! Help!!. After latest update, crashes when trying to load. Also, had IOS update to 12.5.5 four days ago. Like the app so please fix. Thanks

Can’t copy multiple formatted verses. I am limping along with my tablet until my Mac is repaired and trying to use e-sword hd. IMO copying multiple verses formatted is basic functionality. I don’t see the feature. Nothing beats the windows version of e-sword. I run parallels desktop on my Mac just so I can keep e-sword for windows.

Cloud Sync - the one missing critical feature (WARNING-DO NOT USE AIRDROP). This platform is so so so powerful... yet mobile use case really needs syncing of notes, history and such via cloud. The AirDrop feature to “sync” notes is not accurate. It simply overwrites the receiving device with notes from the sending device. Wish I knew it earlier - all my years of study notes on my iPad was over-written by the test data from my iPhone...
