Useful, but needs more features for the price. I'm using the iPod touch version. It's nice to be able to use Quassel on my mobile device, but it's not very configurable. For instance, it has no highlighting support. You can't change the colors. There's no user list that I can find. For $7, it needs to do this and more. That being said, it's really useful. I like to be able to use Quassel on my mobile.

Not good. Edit: this app drove me to stand up a matrix client and I now use IRC via matrix bridges instead. Matrix is a bloaty mess, yet this was a better trade-off. The app functions somewhat. If you’ve used quassel clients on macOS, Windows, Android then you’ve experienced that they stay in sync with regard to “read state”, de-duplicate notifications, have functioning notifications. This app: does not sync read state correctly like the rest of the quassel ecosystem. Presents the channel list in a novel and frankly useless way. Notifications are not functioning. Overall it’s a really janky and broken experience. It has minimal functionality- you can at least read (some of) the backlog and send messages. You’ll find navigation hard and be disappointed with the lack of notifications and synchronizing.

Gets the job done, I guess. This app works, haven't had any crashes, but just doesn't meet the expectations in a client that supports quassel. Basically everything that makes quassel nice is missing. No lines to show where you were last reading, and doesn't update those lines on the desktop client, so there's a lot of unnecessary scrolling/reading when using them together. No ability to hide joins/quits etc, no blocking users, no auto fill for mentioning users (that I've seen). I feel these items are a must, especially on a smaller screen. Hopefully we'll see these features in a future release. But looks as if people have been asking for these things for a while, so who knows. Otherwise, if someone out there has the time and know how, I would love to see (buy) another take on a quassel client.

Does nothing. Login screen takes me to a blank white page after entering my login info.

Passable, but only just. It only gets three stars as the only iOS quassel client. As already mentioned in other reviews, it misses some basic features that shouldn't be difficult to implement and would make a world of difference to usability.

Not worth $5, lacks a lot of functionality. The app WORKS however it is simply missing too much and feels very rushed considering they are asking for more than most apps at $5. Lets start with the PROS: - supports Quassel (no other client I can find on iOS does this) - works CONS: - Poor UI design -- Large bar with two buttons dominates the bottom of the screen, is bigger than chat bar -- No line to indicate where your chat last left off, makes keeping track harder -- No use of gestures whatsoever, user list and server list (buffers) cannot be accessed by swiping left or right. Only by pressing their buttons -- No settings or any sort of configuration menu -- No button or interface to easily add servers or channels, must be added using the commands /join and /server - fairly slow loading time, awkward pausing at the connection screen when it tries to connect to quasselcore on app launch Overall the app isn't horrible but it needs a significant deal of work. The primary reason I give this two stars instead of 3 or 4 is because the price is so absurdly high I near instantly regretted the purchase when I opened the app. If the price were around $0.99 to $1.99 even then it would probably be a 4 star app. Only buy this if you absolutely MUST use quassel, otherwise I very much advise an alternative such as IRCCloud or another cheap or free client. Unfortunately this is literally the ONLY client for iOS that supports quassel, so if that is your goal just be aware of what you are getting into, this has next to none of the features of the desktop quassel-client

Missing some functions. I could not figure out how to: close or delete a buffer; connect or disconnect an existing IRC server/network. Also it disconnects from my Quassel Core often. No lost data but it's annoying.

New Update Hangs On Opening. The new update from August 14th hangs when opening it and it makes me close and open it 5-6 times before it will work. Please fix that bug!

App doesn't work. This app no longer works and just crashes when you open it. It's been ages now since it last has been updated and I foresee that staying unchanged. It's a real shame that this isn't getting the love it deserves especially for quassel being such a useful client to have. Hopefully he developer will come back and properly maintain this again...

Works. But abandoned.. It functions enough to use for quassel but there doesn’t seem to be any active development for this app anymore. Last update was over a year ago. It has a few bugs like broken reconnections and the ui can go for some improvement. It’s the only quassel app for iOS though so it is what it is. I’ll just use blink and irc from a terminal.

It just doesn't work.. I set it to connect to a core, it does that, then puts me at a white screen with the word "authenticated" at the top. That's it. The end. Wasted a dollar.

Not bad, but can be improved. It works like a very light weight client. However, it is missing features like highlight on keywords or highlight on handle and it doesn't run in the background, it has to be active to get alerts. For costing money, you would think that this port would have at least the same features as the free desktop client.

Some improvements, still feels a little unpolished. I’ve been using this app for a number of years, and have had some of the same complaints that others have had. A few of them have been fixed, namely tab completion and iPhone X and newer screen support. Other than my nitpicky issues, the app works well enough. I wouldn’t recommend using this as a primary Quassel client, but it’s a great way to stay on top of your IRC backlog. Overall, the app feels a bit unpolished. When you return to the app from the app switcher, you get a “Please reconnect to core” message that hangs for about 1 second while the app reconnects in the background. Dark mode exists, which is better than some apps, but it definitely doesn’t feel like the developer uses dark mode regularly. There are a number of interface elements that do not appear to be extensively tested with dark mode. Namely, when reconnecting to the core, it’s black text on white background, which can be visually jarring if your entire device is set up with dark mode. Tab complete is a new feature in 1.8.2, which works as you would expect. It’s a nice addition, so props for that. Overall, $0.99 is a decent price for this app. Three stars, because the app has some shortcomings, but it’s still one of the first apps I download on any new iOS device I get.

Disappointing. Several missing features. Constant reconnecting is necessary. Lack of tab complete (at least that I could find) is very frustrating. For the price should be much better.

Simple and Great. Works as advertised; I've been waiting for iPhone support for the longest time and its finally here. I logged in and saw all my channels just fine. Like the description says, this app requires the Quassel core on a server.

Great product. It is mind blowing that people pay up to $25 per person per month when IRC is alive and kicking and works beautifully from anywhere with this amazing tool!

OpenSouce the code already. It’s nice to have an app in the App Store but the Android version is substantially well build looks like this app hasn’t been updated in years. Would be great if the community could contribute more to improve this app.

Abandonware. App was 3 star at best, now fully broken in 15.1 Developer has clearly abandoned app, don’t waste your time. Edit: so not abandonware, dev update resolved issue.

Needs a lot of work.. A bunch of missing features make this a disappointment especially compared to other mobile irc clients. Important but missing features: * No way to hide events like joined/parted/nick changed. These clutter up the chat buffers badly. * Doesn't connect or stay connected reliably. * No notifications when the app is in the background, rarely stays connected while in the background. I'm sure there are more but these are glaring deficiencies for a paid app such as this one.

URL opening = broken. Nice updates to ios7 style. User list is a nice addition. This version crashes whenever opening web links though.

Quassel. It’s bouncy

Not worth the $. Seriously I'm a huge fan of the quassel on the computer fantastic but this is just sad you can't customize anything and you're stuck on a white background with ugly font please update this I want to have the dark theme like on the computer. Charging 6$ for this is just sad quassel just please update.

Super happy with 1.8.1. Super happy with 1.8.1. Adds support for the iPhone X, tab completion of nicks, and inadvertently fixed a bug with query windows. iQuassel is very basic, but does everything I think it needs to on a mobile platform. Submitted a bug. Developer fixed it and had an updated version available in the App Store within 24 hours.
