Offline viewing needs work. The offline viewing doesn’t download lectures efficiently. When queueing the videos to download and selecting multiple courses to download, it tries to download everything in parallel and clogs up the internet stream slowing download speed to a stop which would be faster if videos downloaded one by one. Also it says courses are finished downloading in downloaded courses but its really not completely downloaded. It doesn’t even show a percentage of how much of the course is downloaded. I think offline downloading if made efficiently could help udemy’s website from having too many requests at once from people rewatching already streamed videos. It would be helpful if a stream could be downloaded while watching to save time. Other than offline problems the lectures, tests, and videos work really well on the app. I just hope there is an update to fix the download course option.

Some good courses. Bad UI. The UI doesn’t give the option to go back to all your courses once you’re in one. The only work around seems to be to close the application to get back to the Home Screen which will show your menu options at the bottom. A bit frustrating but otherwise nice to have a dedicated app, instead of using the web app. **update** in response to the developer. The small button the the top right corner is there on the initial video. However, when the next video is automatically played, the button disappears. Hopefully, that helps you guys troubleshoot the bug. Also. The UI does not show courses you get with the Udemy pro subscription. To find them you need to take a lot of steps instead of just having it appear in your “my courses”. Once you do find the course and start it, it doesn’t show up in your my courses. Also to find the practice tests, which show up on a drop down on a web browsers, isn’t an option. So you need to manually find the practice course.

Great course, bad app. The course I am taking is great, if this were a review about content it would be an easy 5 Star. Unfortunately I can’t give it a good review because the app makes it very difficult to access the great content. Perhaps is because my phone is an older iPhone (iPhone 5), but the app will regularly fail me in a variety of ways. Sometimes it won’t let me select previous lessons, sometimes I can’t select the current lesson after reviewing a previous lesson, sometime the video won’t load at all, and the download feature never works. Sometimes everything works perfectly giving me a glimpse of the experience I could be having (except the download feature). Today’s experience has been the most frustrating because no amount of closing the app and reopening it has helped, it still refuses to load the video. The apps biggest saving grace is that the mobile website is even worse. It’s a shame because I love the course but it doesn’t mater how nice the product is if I can’t access it.

Video playback controls. I’m a big fan of Udemy and I have learned so much from the programs offered. Recently, I started learning keyboard as a new hobby during quarantine. I keep my iPad open on the music rest to read lessons and to play along with the instructor videos. Anyone who has taken piano lessons knows that getting good is dependent on repetition and practice. This is where a problem with Udemy comes in. While listening to lessons, there’s a lot of pausing and hitting the rewind 15 seconds button. Every time, the playback controls stop working. I have to manually crash the app 4-5x per lesson. This makes the learning experience miserable. Imagine if you’re reading a textbook, you think about what you read for 3-5 minutes, you look up and see that your book has been thrown across the room and you have to pick it up and find your place again. This is what using Udemy to learn piano feels like.

😍😍😍😍. It’s a great platform with so many things to learn. Not all of them are good or relavent but so is everything else around us. If you put in time to look for a good lesson you’ll find plenty. Don’t be discouraged by the reviews, try it yourself. I learned to play a guitar from here. And I’m actually learning trading. So be your own judge. Self education is the key. Never stop learning ✌️ Tip: When the lessons are expensive don’t buy, wait for the promotion. Just add it to your cart or waitlists then check in daily to see the price. You might buy a course of $199 for less than $20 😎🤗 From a student perspective, I would like to also take this opportunity to thank everyone that takes their time to make these videos for people that are eager to learn like me. Thank so much 🙏. You’re life savers. (Everyone has their opinion about the app, I’m just expressing mine in regards to my experience with it 😅)

2 suggestions to address pain points. The first is to provide an easy to find place to give suggestions. Perhaps you have a place to give suggestions, but after 10 minutes of fiddling with your website, I can’t find it. So, hence, why I am writing it here in hopes you will see it. The second suggestion, which was my original suggestion, is to put the length of each course (hours/minutes) at the top of the “About” section of the course. I can see this information before I purchase it, but not after for some reason. There are plenty of times I have wanted to look and see how long a course is after I purchased it, and I cannot find that information where I expect it, which would be in the “About” course description section. I have to go back and look at the course in your catalog, as if I haven’t purchased it yet, and look at the description there, which is just annoying. Please fix these two things and I will update my review to 5 stars.

Great courses, but some strange bugs.. Ok so let me just say now that the issue that I am having may be totally on my end; but it seems like whenever I try to watch any videos for the course, nothing loads, like my internet has just completely gone out, and it takes me upwards of 20 minutes to load a 7 minute course video. On top of that, whenever I have the app open at all, even it it’s just in the background, nothing on my device loads properly. However once I close the app, everything is back to normal. My internet connection and speed are fine, and videos load absolutely fine on the website. Again the issue may be on my end but it happens too consistently with this one app for me to just write it off as a coincidence, possibly just an optimization issue of some kind? Anyways I love the content and I genuinely think that there is a lot of potential here but until this issue is resolved, I think I’ll stick to using the website.

Great Courses, TERRIBLE app. Some days I literally regret spending my money at udemy. I am a delivery driver and work 2 jobs. All of my learning is on the go, it’s the only way I have time to further my programming skills. With the udemy app, turning my screen on/off will crash the app, it’s slow as turtles to load back up, then I’ll have duplicate videos in my course, the spot I left off on never picks back up where it should, and the videos THEMSELVES freeze and I have to pause/play it again to make it play. I mean, it’s really ridiculous. For a company dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge I feel it’s just insane that the mobile app is written so poorly with so many bugs. Dissapointing. On the flip side, the instructors and courses in udemy are top notch. They really are, and that’s why I continue spending my money here. Just PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, fix the app. EDIT: Today, I bought a new course and I cannot even access it. Even restarted my phone. The button on the course page says buy now, and when I click it it says this has already been paid for and will restore for free, then it just says processing on the udemy app.

Courses Deleted if you get a new device!!!. I just upgraded my iPhone and tried to re-install Udemy. I only have two e-mail addresses and I tried both, yet Udemy did not send the recovery password when I requested it to either e-mail. Support said to check spam, there were 0 e-mails on either account. I tried Facebook login, Google login, Apple login and e-mail login. None of them had my courses attached. How do all the courses I paid for and my account just go “missing”? I contacted support which took forever for them to respond and they also acted like I purposely deleted my account (why would I want to get rid of almost $100 worth of purchases?) Yeah, I did create an account — trying to find my past account and I deleted it because there were no classes associated with the account. Why can’t you reinstate classes that people purchased if YOU have a glitch? I even tried resetting my phone and re-installing the app. Nothing worked. Don’t waste your money on these “lifetime access” courses and don’t change your devices unless you want your account wiped from their system with no record of your purchases.

No download!!. I doubt I would have purchased products on Udemy if I had known how their set up was. most of their products can only be streamed or downloaded to the mobile app but no desktop downloads! they say due to piracy issues, completely understandable but the streaming software is buggy and needs to be updated. I stream video from the usual places Netflix etc. without issue in HD but Udemy software is constantly buffering and won’t load making it impossible to use their courses. And I have tried to download courses to the mobile app multiple times. on three different devices, Over different Wi-Fi’s and on phone data plan. I’ve tried downloading different courses to mobile device without success, downloads will usually complete around halfway to 3/4 and then stop and never finished downloading the rest of the way. Since streaming capabilities are clearly not up to par, they should make downloading an option to desktop, otherwise they should notify people before purchasing that you’re only allowed to “rent” their courses since if I cannot download it I technically don’t own it. It’s truly unfortunate because they offer many great courses at very reasonable prices. I feel like they just need to be upfront about how their product is distributed.

Art course struggles. Love the concept and website of Udemy but I am becoming beyond frustrated with the app. Participating in one of the art courses and in the q&a section I can’t find a way to upload a photo from my phone. Looked multiple times tried copying and pasting nothing seems to allow me to include a photo which is essential for help in an art course. My other problem with the q&a section is the loading. I’ll get one post to load, scroll down wait a few minutes for the next to load, try to scroll back and everything is gone again. Or suddenly I’ll have jumped up five posts or more with one loaded, but as soon as I scroll everything is gone again. This makes it nearly impossible to participate in discussions on that board. With the q&a seeming to be the backbone of communication for the app I’d think it would be a little more reliable and user friendly.

Genuine Question: Do you care about the user experience on the iPad?. I ask the question “do you care about the user experience on the iPad” for two main reasons. The first is that the Udemy iPad app still doesn’t support any type of split screen. When taking a computer or human language class it can be invaluable to be able to have Notability (note taking) or Buffer/Swift Playgrounds (coding IDE) open right next to the video. Now I wouldn’t have as large of an issue with this if I didn’t travel for work so often. Then maybe I could use the online version through safari which does allow split screen. But alas I am constantly in an airplane and the WiFi can almost never handle streaming from a site like Udemy. Since the app allows offline downloads, it is my only option. The second reason for my question above is that we are now almost in the second month of 2019 and there still isn’t any full screen support for the new iPad Pro 11”. The screen is larger and allows for so much extra room in the Udemy app (making split screen even more desirable). I love Udemy and all of the courses that I purchased, but due to my work travel schedule I find the experience to always be less than desirable. That results in me simply not using the app. I would really like to see these two things change going forward. Thanks!

Absolutely Love!. As a full time Dad,Husband,Employee,Entrepreneur, and Student Udemy could not be anymore convenient. I listen to my lectures while at work and use the videos later for not taking etc if I don’t quite understand the first time through. The courses are much cheaper than conventional learning methods and I can complete them at my own pace without the stress of deadlines and even if I finish a course I can always revisit later just in case I’d like to refresh my knowledge. My only note is that I would love to see a podcast alternative for those with busy schedules but that is a minor concern since of course you may take your time and watch as you see fit. I plan on continuing to purchase and learn from Udemy until I have completed all courses of my interests. Thank you for reading and I hope this helps.

Love Udemy! But this version of the iOS app has a lot of problems. A note to the developer: You need to handle when your app is suspended or paused in the middle of a video. The app does not respond after it is suspended (and sometimes after the video is paused for a while even) and a user goes to another app. The app has to be restarted in order to work. It is a very frustrating UX experience. Fortunately for me, the iPad I am using is a relatively recent model so that process is quite fast, but the video buttons not responding after the app is paused is really a nuisance. Please fix it. Otherwise I would rate this 5 stars. It’s a shame because Udemy has a great library of courses that I use quite often, only for the high regards I have for Udemy to be diminished due to the quality of the iOS app.

No offline playback on iPad Pro. I downloaded a whole course but for some reason the app is deleting the video right when I make the selection to watch the video, rather than when I’ve finished watching the video. This means that there is basically no offline viewing of the material, even though I spent the time to download it. Please fix this bug. Also need an option to retain videos even after watching. The course I have recommends one go through watching and a second following along. With the setup now, I have to download each video twice, rather than just being able to download and retain until I’m done with them. edit: Got a response from the developer, but it didn’t address the problem of deleting already downloaded videos. This problem exists when you are totally offline, no WiFi, no cell connection. After reading other reviews it seems like a problem that has existed since at least December of last year. I hope they address it soon and will update my rating if they do.

Miserable App Experience.. The courses on Udemy are great. This app is not. I truly cannot understand how the development team still have jobs -- perhaps they don't, as it feels as though everyone was fired after a month of work on this wretched, buggy hellscape of an app. There are an ABSURD number of bugs. Too many to list here. But they make the user experience utterly horrible and not conducive to learning. Trying to take notes is impossible; Every time I switch between this app and my note taking app, Udemy crashes. I can't even use the miniplayer feature while taking notes. Nope. It crashes. Want to adjust the speed? Crash. If you're lucky, the video just bugs out. Want to go to the next lecture? The app locks up. Learning to use this app isn't a matter of becoming familiar with the UI, but rather learning your way around the constant barrage of glitches, freezes, and crashes. Shockingly, gut-wrenchingly poor quality overall. I truly cannot wrap my head around the sheer incompetence of everyone involved in this app's development.

Best learning app out there IMO.. I’ve tried dozens of various learning apps that are available in the App Store/Play Store, but nothing beats Udemy. They offer so many fantastic courses in just about anything one could think of, some of which offer actual practitioner certifications, which those of course are going to be paid courses, but they do offer discounted courses fairly often, not to mention there are literally thousands of freebies you can take advantage of. Many of their self help, mindfulness, holistic health courses are free which is great for me personally. Also, their customer service is actually on point. Worth checking out if you’re looking for an app that offers continuing education options or if you just really enjoy learning and expanding your knowledge. 🙂

So disappointed.... I have been a Udemy user for over a year... I have recently upgraded my iPhone to the 8 plus version and after reinstalling the Udemy app I was unable to log in. That being said, I requested an email to reset my password in case my bonehead self forgot it... which happens. THAT being said, I have yet to receive an email and have subsequently tried to request help on multiple occasions over the past few days and have not been able to resolve this issue. I’m so upset thinking that now I’ve lost all the courses I’ve paid for and some really cool free courses as well. I wish there was an actual person that I could talk with to help me resolve all of this... I’m really, really bummed about the whole mess... That being said, there was a time I would have given this app 5+ stars, not so much now. I feel cheated and disappointed...

Learn what you want, when you want!. Since graduating college I found myself in need of more learning, just to keep my brain occupied. I found this app and it immediately became my number one source for skill-building. There are classes on nearly anything you can think of, especially in the realm of art, whether it’s music, CGI, drawing, painting, etc... and many more areas that I haven’t explored fully. The great part is that nearly all of them are currently or will be soon be on sale for 90 or more percent off. Best way to find classes without breaking your bank account. And you have lifetime access once purchased, so not only do you not have to worry about “wasting” your money, but you can do it all on your own time and schedule.

Content is pretty good. App is a bad experience.. If there is an option to turn auto play off on mobile, I can’t find it. Very annoying to open a course and have a random video immediately start playing. I transition between the app and desktop site and progress has a hard time syncing so, no, I don’t want to pick up where you think I left off. Honestly, I’d like to read the title of the lecture before jumping in or even may want to rewatch the last one to get my bearings. I’d like to choose which lecture I want to watch next as nearly all courses I watch have modules that can be watched out of order. This is basic UX. Clicking on a course should take me to a course. If I want to watch a vid, I’ll click on the vid or a play button. I don’t need you to unintuitively skip steps for me. There is no way to check your progress without auto playing a lecture. Have also had issues recently where the majority of my lectures did’t load over WiFi, and numbering was completely off. Couldn’t pick up where I left off. Auto played a random vid. Downloading vids and actually being able to watch them is hit or miss.

The browser experience is absolute trash. I’m downloading this app because I’m basically forced to, given the quality of the experience watching courses on my desktop. I bought course for the first time on Udemy, and I was confused as to why the videos appeared to be in 480p/360p quality, despite me setting it to 1080p. I did some research and found a reddit post about a month old, with frequent comments on it up to today, with people experiencing the same issue. Udemy support has responded to the concerns of these people by saying that fixing this web playback issue is “not high priority” since they want to prioritize mobile app development. I cannot understand this logic. The whole point of my purchase was to watch tutorials at my desktop. When I cannot see the text clearly, it largely ruins the experience of having video tutorials in the first place. Even if Udemy fixes this issue, I don’t believe I can trust Udemy to provide me with a high quality experience in the future. When the main purpose of your service is to stream videos that educators want to provide to learners, actively ignoring a core issue with the browser streaming service is something that I completely do not understand.

Mostly Great - Has issues with Bluetooth. The content on Udemy is first class, so that part is 5 star. So this review is just for the iPhone app. You can easily play content, and download to play off line, that is very good. It has a couple of quirks, though, and one deficiency. Quirk 1: you can’t play/pause using Bluetooth. I’ll qualify that to say that you can play, but not pause. I tested with Apple AirPods and Bose Quiet Comfort and neither could pause. This is inconvenient, because sometimes I’ll have my phone plugged in and will be listening to a lecture and I have to walk over to the phone to pause. Quirk 2: The “my courses” section will sometimes just appear empty. If I close & reopen the app, it refreshes and I see my courses. I think the app doesn’t gracefully handle being connected/disconnected from Internet access and then doesn’t properly display content. Deficiency: You can’t bookmark or see bookmarks in the app. These exist in a full Internet browser, and are very useful. I often use my phone for watching lectures though so I can multitask when the lecture doesn’t require a hands on activity - then I go back to my laptop when needed. I would like for the app to have bookmarks that are synced to Udemy so that they appear for me everywhere.

Fix Your App. No excuses.. This is completely unacceptable performance for an app for courses people have paid to take. The app is terrible, won’t let users log in, lags, errors out during video lectures. I have seen person after person bring up these issues but you pretend like they aren’t happening or like they’re some kind of user error. Your customers are not being paid to do QA work for you. It isn’t the responsibility of customers to bring these bugs to your attention. And even when they do, your feedback is “please contact support”. No. Fix your app so people can have access to the courses they purchased. You had time to update your logo, but in the several months I’ve been trying to use your app, you couldn’t find time to fix the major bugs? And judging by the reviews, these issues have been going on for a long time. I got the latest update in hopes that you had finally made the necessary fixes, but actually now it’s completely unusable. This isn’t okay and I won’t be recommending Udemy to anyone or purchasing any more courses until this is resolved.

The App was good.... The App was good, worked without issues, and deserved 5 Stars...until about a month or two ago. When I try to click on anything regarding the videos (resuming my current video, clicking on the courses to select a new video, closing the app to answer a phone call or text and then reopening it, etc.) there seems to be nothing but bugs, even though there have been several updates. The videos won’t load, regardless of what connection I’m using. If they do load, sometimes the screen is black while the audio is still playing. And when I go to my courses to pick a different video, all videos in the courses are listed several times. As in, each is listed three times before the next one is listed. And that repeats for the whole course. In some cases, the section names are also off. I’ll be working in the HTML section of the course for example, and it will say JavaScript, which is actually the next sections title. Please update the App so it works again, since like most people, I watch/listen to it when I’m commuting to work, on my lunch, and don’t have access to my computer.

Last update broke the app, why would you make it worse?. The app used to work fine. I could download videos and press play, they would just play in the background no problem. Now the app constantly gives me the alert Low memory even when playing downloaded videos. I deleted the app and reinstalled and still have the same problem. I have over 2 GB of free memory on my phone and no other apps running and this still happens. I can’t control which part of the video I want to watch from Lock Screen, the slider is disabled now even though it worked before. Also because of the low memory error that is incorrect it cannot keep playing on to the next video. So when I want to play videos in the background I have to: Unlock my phone, open the app, press ok on the low memory error, click to the course I was just in, click the next video, click okay AGAIN on the low memory error that pops up immediately, turn off my phone (which causes the video to pause even though play on background is on) press play then press play a second time because the first time changes the icon to the pause icon but doesn’t actually unpause the video. Seriously, the app was working fine before, how do you keep making it worse everytime you update it?!

Buggy Mess. This app is terrible. UI is unforgiving. AirPlay constantly breaks, dropping audio, forgetting where it was on the video, desyncing audio/video. “Test mode” fails constantly and tries to auto play the next episode even with auto play turned off. The web version doesn’t allow AirPlay, and is buggy as well, constantly refreshing over and over on a video if you have the audacity to swipe away from it while it’s playing. And of course, the video series I PAID for is DRM protected and not available for download, because F you that’s why. Forced in to a locked down system that barely works, and $bigCorp always wonder why people pirate things. I paid for several videos and can’t even watch them with any sort of reliability because of their garbage video player and DRM lockdown. Pro-Tip: use a VPN, or private browsing tab for Udemy deals. They’re scummy and raise prices tenfold but if you use a new IP you can get other courses for the same 4-5 bucks.

Some great courses. Buggy App!. The site, it’s content and individual courses is for another review. This review is for this mobile app which has been very frustrating for past 6+ months I’ve used it. Updates never address these problems! - Sometimes lectures won’t download. Maybe entire section downloads but one lecture in that section is impossible to download. - Sometimes I study for hours with no problems. Other times a video won’t load, I try on cellular instead of WiFi still no good. I relaunch the app, trying again, and now when I go to my course and I start to scroll through to find where I left off (a separate annoying feature) I find that each section has only 1 lecture listed underneath making 99% of the course invisible. The only solution I have found to this is throwing my phone across the room and running udemy in a browser on my laptop. Considering I’m using Udemy to learn computer coding and I need my whole screen space for the project this is very frustrating.

Great content. Horrible frustrating app. I have been doing a course in Udemy that has about 200 parts to it. I like to stream this on my TV while I work on my computer following along. That is one of the best things about online learning. However as much as I am enjoying the course and learning from it, the frustration of this horrible app may make me quit Udemy and stop using it. You cannot Play the content on the Apple TV app, nor can you stream from the website, instead you have to use this app and stream from it. The problem is if you pause it will frequently just start playing three chapters ahead. The app often crashes or becomes unresponsive while it’s still playing on my TV. I’ve been streaming stuff to my TV for years and I haven’t had this kind of frustration in more than a decade. I plead to the developers watch some of the content on your own site and please make a decent app that can actually cast to a TV properly.

“Downloaded” Content Issues. I use the Udemy App on my iPad, and as far as the general use, interface, and all that goes, no complaints. The problem comes when I’m trying to watch “downloaded” coarse content. I like to download the coarse content so I can access it when I’m away from WiFi, like at the gym, on a flight, or wherever. So, I’ll download the coarse content when I’m connected to WiFi, and it shows that everything has downloaded, but then when I go to play it back, I just get the endless spin wheel, like the video is loading, but it never loads. Isn’t that the point of downloading?...you “pre-load” it in there so it doesn’t have to load? So, that’s my complaint with this app. The download feature does not seem to work correctly. It shows that content has downloaded, but then in trying to access that content, or play it back, it seems that it has Not downloaded. Please address this issue?

the app gets worse with every day. i pause the vid and if i don't start it again within about 30 seconds it will not play, it will show that it is playing with the pause icon, but nothing shows. so i have to track to the prior vid then back and then it plays. some times i pause and then push play with BT and it plays, then after about a min it will pause by itself and i can't play it again until i do the same as above. if i put the phone on standby, then try to go back into the vid it will act like it's buffering, even though i downloaded the content. also if i put the phone on standby it will stop playing (i expect that ) but i then have to hit pause then play about 3 times to get it to start playing. WOW, i spend more time trying to get it to play then doing training. UPDATE: now every other day the app drops the offline download for watching training. they can update the logo, but not fix the issues?

Friendly User Interface. I have been using udemy for 2 years and I absolutely enjoy this platform. I can select the courses I want and just pay for them separately rather than having to pay a monthly subscription when I dont know if I will be doing a course during that month. I like the interface a lot and it has helped me learn crucial skills for my career. I used to have trouble before when the website would crash sometimes but for the past few months it has been working perfectly and I would recommend this platform over skillshare, coursera and masterclass where you have to pay a monthly subscription for one year which is absolutely ridiculous.

App in a sorry state. As many have mentioned, the Udemy courses are amazing. I have taken a TON of them. I love Udemy. The app has been great in the past. Unfortunately right now it is worthless. Currently 2 big problems: 1. Sound and video is constantly cutting out, which makes it completely unusable. I know it isn’t the course because the same course works perfectly on the web. 2. I thought it possibly had to do with streaming (even though I have a great internet connection), so I downloaded the course. Unfortunately this didn’t help the video issues, and when I tried to watch with no internet it has a huge “no internet connection” completely useless notification that doesn’t go away at the bottom of the screen and blocks video controls when watching if full screen mode... To developer: Yes I completely deleted my app and reinstalled, same issue. I also restarted my iPad Pro. Please fix ASAP and I will gladly update my review. Udemy devs, you would probably benefit from taking the amazing courses your company sells...

Works better than ever, but…. Update: it would be really nice to be able to view my own course as an instructor in the app. Many times a student will have a question on a lesson I released a couple years ago so I need to review it to answer the question adequately but there is no way to view that in the app, whether I’m in instructor mode or student mode. So I have to wait till I’m at my computer or deal with signing in to a browser on my phone which is relatively difficult. As an instructor, the app does everything I need it to do. Looking forward to even more updates on the instructor side of the app. Someday maybe it’ll even be on par with the instructor website, but for now it does everything I need it to do.

Basically a video player that fails at playing video.. Pros: I love being able to continue where I left off, mid sentence, when switching between my 8th Gen iPad, iPhone X, or PC. It seems to handle this well. Option to increase playback speed has proven to be very useful. I wish it was an on screen option instead of a behind a menu, but I’m not complaining. Cons: The bugs. Often with 20 seconds or so left on my iPad or phone, the video will freeze and audio will cut out, but the timer will continue to progress. The only solutions are to fast forward and rewind or switch to another video and reload the current. Thankfully it remembers your place. This happens on my iPad and iPhone. Also when multitasking you will come back to a black screen. If this happens you have to reload the video or the app. Also I do frequently get “Out of memory” errors on my iPhone X, even with all other apps closed. To think that a video playing app would be the one app to bring my phone to its knees is surprising... One feature suggestion would be to create some sort of bookmarked videos. There are often lessons I need to focus on and I’d love to have a playlist of those specific videos. If that’s a current festive, I haven’t found it. The bugs are the biggest issues though. I’m having to constantly babysit it to keep it functional. Great job on many of the things. Please fix the others. Thanks,

Udemy is AWESOME but the mobile app is disappointing. I love Udemy and use it constantly for work training and improving on my personal hobbies. In the browser, the UI is pretty good, the site works amazingly (it very rarely has technical glitches that amount to anything more than minor inconvenience), and the breadth of quality content is incredible. However, I’ve had a lot of trouble with the mobile app in the very brief time I’ve been using it. The screen gets very fuzzy and often stays that way for a long time so text and images are blurry, which makes it hard to see what the instructor is talking about; this happens in the browser sometimes, but never lasts more than a few seconds (< 5) before coming into focus. The other issue is that the audio keeps cutting out or falling behind, which I’ve never experienced in the browser. One of the best things about Udemy is the ability to change the speed of the video content—It should not be offered in the mobile format if the app can’t adjust the playback properly. The only “fix” I’ve seen for this is to click the “rewind 15 seconds” button, which wouldn’t be so bad if it were only once in awhile, but I’ve found myself having to do it several times even throughout the same video. I hope they are able to fix/improve this app, but for now I may just go back to browser-only use.

I LOVE IT BUT I HAVE A HUGEEEE QUESTION. Hello, I just wanted to take some time and say that Udemy has truly changed my life I love the concepts of being able to learn from your home with your laptop or on the go on your phone it’s fantastic! But I do have a question about being a Udemy Student, of course now a-days everyone works apart from going to school.. with that being said I do view Udemy as a School since I am a “Udemy Student”, I’d like to file taxes as a student (currently I am 20yrs of age)I have the receipts for my courses payments but this is not enough. I’ve been on the help page read through all the FAQs and haven’t found one on this topic yet. I want to know if I am able to get a “School Letter” that states that I am attending the Udemy school, where it states my completed and on going courses along with its pricing, date purchased, date course was begun by student, course length (hours). This would be immensely helpful, and to say I’d view this as a way to a huge blowup for the Udemy company 5 stars from me because I love Udemy.. honestly I’m not going back to college when I learn more on Udemy in a month than a semester in college. LETS GO UDEMY! P.s please help me !

Love Udemy but hate this app. I have bought over two dozen courses with Udemy. The content and instructors are world class. BUT... trying to watch any of the video content on my iPad is PAINFUL. It takes forever to load - not just the videos but even the Purchased and Wishlist pages. When a video is done playing, (more often than not) the circular loading graphic just spins and spins trying to load the next video. I then have to close the app and clear it from my app history to get it to load again. I’ve found that it does help with playback if you download the entire course video content first - but that takes forever to download as well. I have NO issues with other apps that stream video over WiFi (Netflix/HBO) so I can’t blame my network strength or the iPad for this horrible playback. Watching online on my computer works great- but I’d prefer not being chained to my desk to watch these. Come on Udemy- fix this app please!!!

Did not receive what I paid for 👍🏻. This app has zero customer support. All it does is send you on a never ending goose chase through customer support articles. I purchased a course and did not receive it. Of course the payment was successful and they took my money, right… It goes on to say, “ Payment successful but your enrollment failed” Then it sends me directly to a message box “for customer support” Guess what…? Message send failure over and over and over. I really want the course and it’s on sale. So, I try buying it again. Same thing, repeat of the first time. Now I’ve been charged twice for the course and receive nothing. Since their customer support is non-existent I call apple. They deny my refund because the charge went through it looks like I got the product. What a crappy experience man, you would think that apple would have your back… NOPE I’m just an average broke dude trying to further myself in life by learning on a budget. I mean, that’s what this app is all about right? Offering people an alternative to expensive schools and classes that can’t otherwise afford it? Good job guys high five on that one 🤚🏻 Great job apple thanks for having my back, I’ve only spent thousands and thousands of dollars with your company loyally over the past 15 years. Oh, and you’re welcome for the $50, maybe consider putting it towards a customer support team before you run everyone else off 💯

(Edited) Thoroughly Annoyed!. I’ve reviewed numerous apps over time and you guys are one of very few developers that actually respond, I appreciate that, thank you. For what it’s worth I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because at least you guys interact with your users. I’ll be more than happy to give a great review and full 5 stars when the app itself is sorted out. Original Review: (1 Star) I downloaded an entire course on my iPad for me to be able to watch it at times when I can’t connect to WiFi. Half the videos that indicate they are downloaded will not play, I just get a stupid loading wheel. Now it won’t even play anymore when it’s reconnected to WiFi. The entire iPad app is trash, is mostly a stretched out phone app, I’d like to be able to view a list of videos in a course without having one of them play whenever I open the course. Separate the media player from the video list. The entire UI is awkward. The now playing bar thing on the bottom is cumbersome and not suited a a large screen iPad experience. The download feature is awkward to use, some sort of download manager would be nice. It would also be nice to have picture in picture mode available for videos so that I can take notes with my Apple Pencil in another app. The udemy content is good, but the app is not. It needs a lot of work.

Video UI is buggy on iPad Pro 12.9. While I love the service and have purchased several helpful courses on the platform, I have found it increasingly hard to stomach using the service for it’s poor interface on iPad Pro. The app WILL show content, and it plays the video almost perfectly. The problem is the buttons for 15-second skipping do not work, and the entire interface is lowered far lower than what I believe was intended. This makes the video player feel dated and unfocused, which hurts the experience a good bit. I tend to use this app when working on courses, as my desktop screen is used for the applications I’m learning. So far, I love the app and it’s delivery of the service. It just desperately needs an input revamp. Fixing those 15-second skip buttons, raising the input area and adding two finger pinch-controls for full screen mode would warrant a 5 star review from me! Thanks!

Good app, mobile version missing functionality. Overall, this app is good and I’m glad I found it. There are a lot of courses to choose from and pricing is great when you hit a sale. That being said, the mobile app is missing some functionality I’d like to see. A few suggestions below: I use a lot of music theory and instrument lesson courses. I wish there was an option to loop/automatically repeat a video for backing tracks in lessons. I’m sure this could also be useful for other course types as well. It would be great to be able to save individual lessons into a Favorites section for easy reference later and maybe even be able to organize them into handy playlists. Favorites could also be marked and categorized as favorites within the main course lesson list for even more visibility of lessons you want to be able to find quickly. I also don’t see a Downloads section to easily access lessons that have been downloaded. The auto play feature is temperamental and some times just doesn’t work. The lessons I’ve completed often reset and look as if they haven’t been finished. And scrolling through the sections and lessons of large courses can become cumbersome when nothing is highlighted or marked correctly. Adding a Favorites feature and fixing up the completed lesson highlighting would help a lot with being able to organize the course structure.

Horrible app with absolutely no customer support. I purchased a course on here and within the course there was pdf resources with links to them. I could not open one single resouce, every time I clicked on them he only thing that would happen is the text color would change. I tried to find any way to contact them for help and could not find anything other than the FAQ. I found where I could request a refund and i clicked the box that said technical difficulties with the platform. It then asked me to explain what went wrong and only gave the option for credits rather than going back onto my card. As soon as I hit submit looking for some kind of help i no longer had access to the course. I really wanted the course so when I went to find it again it was $24 more expensive than before. I begrudgingly purchased it again hoping the resources would work and sadly I’m still left with not being able to access them AND I still can not find any way of getting real customer support to help me, even though I’m a paying customer.

Great potential, poor experience. I really like the content but the app is buggy and lacks basic features. When I am watching a lecture while browsing the app, the video disappears while the audio still plays. The only way to get to it again is to navigate to the course videos which is frustrating. Also, if I am navigating while watching a video and click on the same video I am watching through the course video list, it reloads the video instead of recognizing that that is the video I am watching. The app should just recognize that is the video I am watching and just maximize it instead of reloading it. This would not be an issue if the video doesn’t disappear while I’m navigating. I am shocked this app has high ratings with all the bugs it has. I am trying to find excuses to give this app a higher rating, but for now 3 stars will have to do.

Bugs, Bugs and more Bugs. I think the developers should take advantage of some of the fine IOS development courses offered at Udemy. And perhaps some of the UI/UX courses. App is very buggy. Crashes randomly. Screen would rotate 180 degrees (up side down) when you play the preview videos. Have to rotate device back and forth to “fix” the the issue. Sometimes the next video in the course would play automatically. Other times, not. Need to restart app to restore functionality sometimes. Would also like to see it updated to support newer devices such as the 2018 iPad Pro I am using. Would also like to see some of the functionalities such as the playback speed and captioning options made more easily accessible (e.g. directly on the screen overlay along with the playback buttons). I believe these functions are used often enough given the nature of the contents (i.e. training courses) that they deserve to be in a more accessible location rather than behind another menu. I would even suggest some gesture controls for skipping backwards and forwards instead making the user try to push tiny buttons that are a miss half the time.

Downloaded content useless - very frustrating. The reason why I use udemy is because the download functionality was good and I could fruitfully use my daily train commute time. Now I download courses, it shows it is downloaded but doesn’t load. I feel like I have thrown away hundreds of dollars. Very frustrating. I am now forced to find another platform which allows me to download and use content while commuting. I tried to raise this issue via your website but to no avail. No reply but i did get more marketing emails than i needed. I am reluctantly writing this review. I actually used to love Udemy but get a clue guys people are upset with the broken download functionality. May I also recommend a few testing courses from your own catalogue. ******update***** I did get a reply from the team in response to the review. So here is my reply to them: It tells me that the video is downloaded but when I try to open it in offline mode, the dreaded loading circle shows up. Deleting content and trying to download again doesn’t work. I have wiped out a lot of content from my iPad and that doesn’t help either. Any dates of when we can see a fix?

Needs to remember where one left off. If I opened an ebook and it didn’t return me to the last page I was reading I’d probably find a new e-reader. Way too often I open this app, open a lesson and it returns me to an old lecture instead of the one I last learning from. This is unacceptable! While we’re on the subject, it would also be nice if the app organized lesson by most recently accessed or if it had a list of recently accessed lesson. I often open this app hoping to continue where I left off earlier in the day but first I have to pick the right course (from a set of many that I’ve purchased) and then I have to locate on my own which section and subject/lecture I was last studying. This is like having a teacher walk in a room and ask the students: Now Where Was I? Its unacceptable!!! I will give this app five stars if they fix it by adding the appropriate state information. Until then, only the courses may be rated that high because the app is too frustrating.

Great Company, App needs work. I love Udemy. I have several courses and most of them have significantly helped in my line of work and various hobbies. That said, I primarily use the web version over the app. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a total app nerd and ideally I’d be using the Udemy app for all my learning. However, there are various problems/bugs that keep it from being my go-to. First off, I am running it on an iPhone XS Max with iOS beta software 12.4. So keep that in mind while I rant. It could just be the phone OS that’s causing the problems. The most irritating of the bugs is the duplication of listed lessons. For example. Every so often when I go to a course, all the lessons are duplicated so that they show up in the order: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, etc. I have to log out and back in to resolve the issue. The next issue I’m having is that sometimes when I try to download a lesson for offline viewing, it will stop almost immediately and tell me “Download Cancelled”. And finally, I’m not fond of the fact that part of the screen is cut off when viewing lessons in landscape mode on my iPhone. It’s a very small portion that is cut off, but sometimes I need to see that portion. And to do so I have to scroll the screen down. Overall I love what Udemy offers. It’s easily my favorite platform for learning new skills and improving old ones. As soon as the app gets up to speed with the browser experience, I’ll be all over it.

Poor UX on iOS. I am not quite sure why the UI is so bad on Apple iPhone 11 or on my iPad Pro; I only know it is bad. The app has lots of rendering issues switching from the vertical to the horizontal view. Today, the list of sections for the AWS CPP exam are being rendered incorrectly. Video clips actually appear under the wrong section in both views. I’m uncertain how to fix this. I checked and I am on the latest version and there are no pending bug fixes for this behavior that I can see. Also, pausing the app has been a problem since I started using it last Summer for training. If I pause it and come back after an hour or so, I always have to reboot the app. Otherwise it sits there unresponsive to any request. I often resort to just using the Udemy website for my phone or iPad because the app is that poor. I have found the desktop version of the site with my old Dell laptop running Ubuntu Chrome has actually been best. I wish that was not the case because I would like to use the iOS app with my phone and AirPods as I work around the house on mindless things like mowing grass or cleaning. Please fix UI issues for a better UX folks because I really enjoy your courses. Thanks!

Love Udemy....but not the app.. I absolutely love Udemy. I’m beginning to hate the app. They apparently once had an app for Apple TV but decided to abort it once apple developed the ability to airplay or cast your videos to the Apple TV from the iPhone. However, you can only cast from an iOS device and not a computer. Annoying, but that part isn’t necessarily Udemy’s fault. Udemy has a feature where you can increase the playback speed of the video. It’s great for instructors who talk slowly or for a lesson you might already be pretty familiar with but only want to brush up on. Well, when you increase this playback speed and then cast to your Apple TV, you may or may not have audio. More likely you won’t. I have to continually hit pause, play, pause, play, pause, play until the audio finally kicks in. I have to do this for each lecture. Additionally, if you pause a lecture for more than a few seconds, the Udemy app decides to start playing again on it’s own, but the real fun part is that it doesn’t start playing from where you paused, it jumps to an entirely new lecture. Need to go to the bathroom? Don’t pause it! Unless you want to spend the next 15 minutes trying to figure out where you actually left off. These issues are quite annoying and really affect the productivity of the learning process.

iPad version is lacking. Long time course creeper taking advantage of the COVID-19 lockdown to actually go through a class: character design! Perfect to do on the iPad with the special pencil, right? No, because they haven’t optimized it for iPad. The video keeps playing when I switch screens and *attempts* to do what other videos do and squish into the bottom right corner, and then it nopes out (still playing of course). Trying to go back and forth was rough since the video “forgot” all the data except where I left of and would have to reload every time I switched back. Downloading the course counters this just fine. I also noticed that Q&A comments that were clearly supposed to have photos attached didn’t show the photos! (kind of important in an art course...) Other than that, currently no issues. Edit: also, please don’t assume I want to jump right into videos when I click a course. I’d much rather see something more akin to a simple dashboard.

Don’t purchase any course. Complete waste of money they posted as life time access but the course disappeared within three months and it’s so so hard to reach their customer support team basically we can’t.. I purchase 3 courses and one course completely gone say this course no longer available.. waste of time and waste of money.. they should give easy access to reach the customer service..

What a poor experience app. Update—— After contacting support services I have decided to rate to 2 stars. The application seems to have more issues. It freezes when submitting course reviews. Downloading the course not working for me even at 360 dpi. It doesn’t download sequentially instead goes to download random sequence, no good if you are planning to watch offline. Tried to download independently, with no luck. —— I love your content, I think is great and there are a lot of courses to choose from. But your app is no good, playback is clumsy jumping from an article to a video makes the app to freeze. Download a course takes ages. I had a better experience in the past with the app. But this release at least is not good so far.

Content great, app glitchy. Overall I feel like the udemy content I have watched to be of great quality and more than worth the price. The app performance, however, is sometimes dicey when it comes to downloading content and managing courses with lots of videos (scrolling can freeze up). Also when revisiting a course it will often start not on the latest unwatched video but instead on a random watched video.

Great courses but App need some work. Randomly logs you out and when you try and log in you get a 503 error. Casting to Chromecast is a bit clunky: * no option to autoplay to the next lecture, * no indication of percentage of downloaded lectures or which lectures have been downloaded. * Sometimes looses connection to Chromecast then you have to stop connecting and reconnect

Pianoforall.. Purchased this course in October 2018. Worked fine till now, December 2018. Videos don’t load in full screen, you have to load using “picture in picture”. If you are lucky, the video will start and you can revert to full screen. Then slide the white progress button to almost the end, then slide it back to the beginning. This sometimes works. I say ‘sometimes’ as it doesn’t always work! All in all very disappointing. But there is good news, here’s a tip, the content is good. So, download all the PDF’s and put them in files and follow them without the video’s. Rated 1 star..

Content is good, app is garbage. I cannot recommend Udemy with the current state of the iOS application. I have reported bugs months ago that still remain unfixed. I regularly see doubled two copies of each video, offline content will randomly refuse to play, section titles get renamed - it’s a complete disaster of an app and so much worse than, for example, the CBTNuggets app (which isn’t terrific, but does actually function!). Support will tell you to delete and redownload the app, which will work for a random amount of time and then the problems crop up again. This isn’t rocket science, guys. Replace your dev team.

Missing Chromecast becomes useless. The Udemy platform its awesome! I have been using for a while and like others, I normally cast from my iPhone to my TV. Something went wrong with the last updates and it’s missing this feature l. I’d love to have it back (5 star when it’s done). As a work around, I’m watching through the TV Cast app, accessing Udemy website which makes this app useless. Other then that, the new app fixed the offline issues I had and it’s good. That would be nice having my last watched instead of going to the home page to buy new courses. I do understand it’s their marketing, but out at least a floated button to “keep watching”. Thanks

My curses disappeared. I have been very busy with work and hadn’t got time to learn the curses I purchased, this period are my off days, I have 2 weeks to be at home ready to start learning but the curses are no longer available in my curses, admin kindly look into it and restore my access, thanks

Awesome resource and alright app. Id love Picture in Picture support, watching a video while taking notes (or even engaging in the lessons in another app) would be so awesome. As would casting to various devices like Chromecast or Xbox One. Also being able to read ALL the reviews and organising them via the stars system like on the website would be neat. Awesome. Thanks everyone!

Thank god for learning!. Such a huge catalog and yes sometimes the classes are a bit average, or the instructor is missing in action and doesn’t reply to your questions... but the app itself is great. Now... if only I could actually get finish a course... it would be great if udemy had a reminder for courses you’ve forgotten to continue. p

Downloads fail often for offline play. Extremely frustrating to think a download has synced but go out on a walk and half the downloads won’t play. Then when back on WiFi, trying to work out what has worked and what hasn’t is a nightmare. The played ticks disappear randomly. Sometimes when re downloading the previous downloads disappear which means you can’t rely on anything to cue you on what has played and what has worked, and what has failed and hasn’t been watched. I play these back to back without seeing the titles or the video while I walk, so the titles don’t help. Please fix the user experience!!! It’s probably 90% there IF IT WORKED! Content mostly good though some courses repeat the same thing in other courses so you only get 10% of the value of subsequent courses...

Highly Recommended. If you have not yet purchased one of Julian’s courses on Udemy, I highly recommend you consider making the investment in yourself. I have been connecting with spirit since I was a child, never fully and deeply understanding what was happening and what I needed to do to look after myself. Since being guided to Julian I am so excited to now have a teacher to help me more deeply understand this blessing. Julian’s teaching resinsates deeply with me. He brings such a natural presence with him that at times it feels he is right here in the room with me. Would love you to join us in the beautiful community Julian has created of like minded souls. Julian truley is love and gives love.

I rate Udemy courses but.... The iPhone app is frustrating! I airplay to my Apple TV but whenever I pause, the app will start at a completely new section of the course or pause for a bit and then start playing - which of course is frustrating when you walk away and come back to find the course is playing when you know you paused it. I’m scratching my head as to why they took the Apple TV app away, it worked so well! You’re usually going to need two screens to follow along otherwise you’re constantly pressing pause and play. This is a big deterrent for me and I think I’ll have to find another learning platform :(

Fraudulent charges and no contact information for support.. Udemy fraudulently charged me via apple pay twice (the first one caused me to uninstall the app and the second caused me to block my card on apple pay) and i had to go to apple to get these purchases refunded. when i tried to find any support contact information for udemy whatsoever i came up completely empty handed, no phone number, no email, and the support page is just an endless loop of faqs without any contact form. i love this app, i love learning on this app, but i should not have to jump through hoops just to notify someone about multiple fraudulent charges on my card. now i can't use my card on apply pay for anything because this app makes the process of resolving these issues completely impossible.

Glitches. I’m really loving Udemy and the ability to study anywhere at anytime. My only complaint is that the app sometimes opens up lectures that I’ve already listened to and I have to try and find which one I’m supposed to be on by going to my computer and turning it on. Obviously this don’t work if I’m out and about. I’ve even had it switch from one lecture to another halfway through, which was really annoying as I couldn’t figure out what had happened.

So easy to use. I’ve been a Udemy fan for several years. Their app is so easy and intuitive to use. The feature I like the best is the ability to download and use off line, as I work frequently in remote areas where there’s no roads or water, let alone internet access.

Glitchy. The app plays my courses ok but even when you have completed all the lessons it says that you are only 97 or 98 percent done so you never get the certificates for completing the courses that they say you get. Even though you watch all the lessons one or two always stays marked at incomplete so you don’t reach the 100 percent to get the certificate. If you rewatch the lesson another lesson changes to incomplete and lowers you completed course percentage even more. Very unhappy

Daniel Ison review of Udemy. I found that this app to be excellent in many different ways, it’s education has brought me understanding in field such as; languages, accounting and computing all which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also the fact that the app is Multi disciplinary is good also; plus the prices of each course are cheap and affordable. Also the lecturers of all subjects are coherent, logically cohesive and fun to listen to in general.

Great app. I’ve enjoyed my experience so far with Udemy. Not all the teachers are great, but it’s really fantastic to be able to do some previews before purchasing a course, and I’ve found for certain subjects, the teachers are fantastic. The way the courses are structured is perfect. I only wish there was a way to buy a course as a gift rather than only for myself, as I do not share my account but I wanted to purchase a course for my brother. Maybe I would just have to make him an account. But it would be nice to have this as a feature Also if anyone is planning to use this for language learning, courses for more popular to learn languages are good (French, Spanish, Russian etc) whereas I struggled to find a decent courses in mid-European languages (such as Slovak, Hungarian, czech etc) the more popular languages had much better courses that take you to a deeper level, whereas some other languages courses, I viewed a couple of Hungarian ones out of curiosity where some non natives were teaching, and the pronunciation of words were wrong.

Apple TV Not Working. Great content. Great iPhone & iPad app. Great website to log into. BUT the Apple TV App hasn’t been updated since 2018 and does not work at all now since Apple TV OS4. I was really enjoying the ability to watch my Udemy courses on my AppleTV but that hasn’t been working for over a year now and Udemy doesn’t seem to care. With all the users on their platform it’s a disgrace that they haven’t bothered to update their own AppleTV app.

Great courses and prices. For an absolutely low price (Never more than $18 AUD) I have purchased a total of 4 courses. I've been working through 2 recently (drawing anatomy and drawing for beginners) and am happy to say that the courses are going well. Only downside is that there isnt a "class" environment (of course thats because its online) so i've found it difficult to stay on track or push myself sometimes, but thats on me. Definitely give it a shot and give it everything!! Its fun, affordable and super informative.

Great, but there’s black bars.... I really love using this app. It got a lot of courses that’s useful for me, and it really helps me learn new things. I’ve downloaded a bunch of videos and resources and it’s all working well. However, there’s one minor problem though... I’m currently using the iPad Pro 11” (2018), and there’s black bars on the sides of the screen when I’m using the app. It kinda detracts a bit from my video watching experience...It’ll be really nice if the developers can fix this.

Pretty good app, but.... 1. To rep: Still need to align apple pricing to get the same deals on the app as the website. - Thanks for your reply, however fiddling around isn’t what I want to do to get a discount. The simplicity of just tapping a few buttons within the app and using my already stored payment details with Apple is really the only way I’ll be buying courses. Having to store my details or use them directly with Udemy is not an option. 2. To rep: Also, mirroring the courses to Apple TV is a poor experience. The controls permanently sit over the playing video. Do you actually test all the functions before you release updates? Note to Udemy rep: Don’t reply telling me to email you directly, if you have a response for me, supply it here for all to see.

Problem with caption. I am really loving udemy. But caption works very bad on iPhone 13 pro max. Closed captions are too small and haven't any possibility to change size, contrast, color. Please fix it in the next update. Because it's a very complicated to learn in English if you are not a native.

App shows a blank screen. I have paid for 3 courses which are totally inaccessible because the app opens as a blank screen. The courses are also inaccessible through the web. The link takes me to a verification page and then instead of my courses it takes me to a sales page which is consistent with the interest area of courses I have purchased. There is no link to my actual purchases. I have emailed the support email but haven’t had an answer.

Annoyed with Buffering and Video not playing. Yeah. I love the courses on Udemy, and learnt a lot they are cheap. But recently I started having problem with the App. It is not responsive and halt every 2 minutes. The Videos doesn’t play well on wifi. First of all they do not buffer fast, and if they buffer then Video doesn’t replay. Secondly even if you download the course on app. Sometimes it takes ages to download and sometimes it is quick. But the problem is both ways you can not play for some reasons. I am using an Iphone X and even on Macbook same problem. The video doesn’t load and you have to waste time on Waiting. I am a big fan of udemy but recently it is wasting my time on sitting in front of computer/mobile and waiting to load the course. I am full time employee and struggling to study on Udemy platform. I believe other have same problems please fix the bugs in your system. BTW works fine on 4G mobile data but thats what I do not want.

Video loading and playback speed issues. Video does not load often have to kill app and open again, if I watch the video on 2x it goes silent in a lot of places have to scroll back to watch it again and then it doesNt buffer, kill and open again Aah

Fabulous app, great range of courses. A great app with a diverse range of courses to choose from. Easy to search and the previews make it that much easier to check if the course is right for you. Love the bonus discounts and convenience in accessing your downloaded courses.

Image and sound get out of sync. Everything was fine and I used to use this application a lot, But when I opened it today I got a memory error and then video and audio got out of sync. I’ve closed the application and opened it again a number of times, but the issue persisted.

Great app but needs some work. I’ve always loved using Udemy, but the iOS app crashes regularly, often when using background play. There also needs to be better control and visibility of downloading of content, as well as backgrounding of this process. Seems the app needs to be open for downloading to finish.

App does not work. Just bought the first course and downloaded it hoping I will be able to do this on my commute to work but does not work 1. Looks like offline mode does not work unless you are online 🤦‍♂️ 2. Even online the videos doesn’t seem to want to work. For a product that predominantly deals with videos, its disappointing that it can’t play videos. Why go live if you cannot do the base task? It looks like I have no other option than to finish this course on my computer at home. Hopefully the course content is impressive.

Bad app! Misleading rating! Waste time!. The app has numerous issues like video cannot be displayed continuously when correctly setup. Video stream runs into pause is normal. The download is absolutely a joke. The support will ask you signed out, delete content, delete app, delete content etc. which is just waste of hours struggling. I didn’t even mention the refund but the support gave me $5 voucher. Humiliation! Your customers’ time cost is way more than your thought. The app is absolutely below standard as streaming app is quite mature technology. The 4+ review is absolutely misleading I will report apple to investigate.

Beware. They cancel courses you pay for and get you to pay, again and again. I bought a course on permaculture, was halfway through it on their app, then it disappeared. No record of it, they sent no receipt, I bought it online using a bank card, accessed it, was halfway through, obviously there is no apple receipt because it was bought on their own website. They have no way to contact them, no customer support, I already tried everything.

App is terrible. The courses on Udemy are great, and I’ve had good experiences while streaming on a really good internet connection on a desktop. However, the iPad app is terrible. After spending hours downloading the course I had bought, the app doesn’t allow me to play without an internet connection. On top of this, every time I connect to the internet to play the course, each segment is removed from the download list as soon as playback starts. I’m then just left with huge buffering times for a 480p video that I’ve already downloaded.

Terrible connectivity. 2 for design, 1 for connectivity. The app was decent until several versions ago and it’s been completely frustrating since. Having to use the much clunkier website to stream my course as the app just fails to connect. Even downloading the lessons first on a home wifi connection you still can’t view them in the damned app! Enjoying the course but hating this stupid app.

A fantastic app. The one-time purchase of each course means that you pay when you need to - no subscriptions! The fact that you can download these courses is a great feature too and tutors respond to questions and it overall feels like a great community! PS: developer, could you please make Windows 10 app for this as well? I would love to be able to download these courses there too :)

Add section collapse function. There is no reason that users who are progressing through the lectures have to scroll and scroll just to get to nearby lectures - auto-collapse completed sections, and let users collapse and un-collapse sections easily. Also, please allow the mobile app to play different lectures to the desktop (instead of syncing both) - the mobile's small screen, and being away from the laptop or desktop, means users may want to view less visual-heavy or exercise-driven lectures on mobile.

App with very annoying video playback issues. On iPad I can’t return to previous lessons. Simply won’t load them and complains it has no access to content, but play the next unpaid lesson perfectly fine…so I can’t review and revisit previous lessons… y’know do actual structured learning.. The irony of the app I used to learn coding on that can’t even straighten itself out. Without this issue it is great, purely due to the content creators. Udemy itself appears to be nothing but yet another lazy exploitative body sitting on it’s distributive platform however.

Great Value. I love learning. Unfortunately not many people can be professional students their entire lives, so for me, Udemy gives me the opportunity to learn what I want, when I want. I’m into writing courses right now, and I’m finding the ones I’ve done have helped me so, so much already. The pricing is great value, too, considering you can sign in as often as you want and retake your course. Amazing value.

Neuroplasticity:How to Rewire Your Brain ~ Brilliant course!. I thought this course content would interesting, but dry subject matter. It’s actually exciting, fun and so educational. Gregory Caremans, the presenter, is extremely knowledgeable, passionate about his subject, and also very humorous. I’m learning so much and loving the learning. Highly recommend to anyone interested in brain function and our individual power over creating changes therein!

Very Bad App Exoerience. I have downloaded the course to access during my commute. The app demanded access to the internet for the previously fully downloaded videos. Connected to internet then app started to delete videos and stream them instead. Extremely annoyed as buffering is unreasonably slow dispute very high speed internet assess. Absolutely useless. Just had a look at the reviews and it has been a known issue for almost 6 months now. Obviously Udemy is too big to care.

Content is great, interface is dodgy.. If you choose carefully some of the courses are outstanding, but load times are painfully slow in comparison to web sites. Some sections just will not load for offline viewing and the help desk is unable to figure out why. There are some things (like archiving courses) that you can only do on the web page, and some courses do not get marked as complete on the app. I’m normally a positive reviewer, but the udemy team need to work on this app.

‘Supermarket’ Teaching at its worst. There is no content curation, and the quality of courses vary horrendously - many are given by well-meaning amateurs with no didactic knowledge or teaching experience. Platform is buggy, and minor annoyances pop up repeatedly - like app reverting to portrait mode on iPad, after playing a video. Payment gateway is ridiculously bad - does not seem to accept any of my Australian credit cards - and developer is totally unresponsive (no reply after multiple attempts to sort out inability to purchase a course). Look for better content and more pleasant experience in competing platforms.

The most frustrating and disappointing app experience I’ve had in a while!. Possibly the worst most disappointing experience I’ve had with a learning app. The Apple TV app is an instruction screen on how to use Airplay!? What on earth were you thinking? Aside from that the iPhone app is buggy and unstable and crashes frequently and fails to load content or buffer at times too. If I hadn’t just paid for a course I would have given up.

Great courses, terrible app. Just purchased a few courses on the excellent Black Friday sale. I’m shocked by how bad the app is. It takes forever to play videos (even on a stable 50/20 nbn connection), and gives up downloading courses only seconds after the downloads start, then doesn’t retry. They really need to put some effort into getting this stuff rock solid. It’s the app’s only purpose after all! Other than that, great content. I’ll be using the website for now though...

Liliana. This course is amazing and makes sense for me at this point in my life. It is informative and well presented and most of all thought provoking. Clearly Kain is well experienced and sensitive about people and their interactions with others. He is coming from a position of wanting to encourage personal growth and this is what engages me. Thank you.

Great courses, terrible app. Like so many others, I'd like to add my voice to the choir in hope that udemy actually spend a bit of money and fix this app. Basically, downloading courses doesn't work. Over the past year I've tried 3 different courses and have never once been able to download an entire course. And because the app doesn't download lessons in order, I never have had enough to complete a few lessons in a row. As such, my third attempt at learning something on this platform is about to join the dinosaurs. It's a pity as there's so much potential, but I'll be cutting my losses and looking elsewhere from now on. It's clear udemy don't care to (or are too cheap to) fix their app.

Great in design but super buggy. Nice design and ease of use.....but bugs make it totally unusable sometimes and I have to view content on a PC. Examples: quizzes were crashing the app in iOS 12 but so far on 13 seem stable. Now I’m getting videos that frantically start refreshing when you go to play them, can’t get them to work at all. Forget about downloading anything, it’s very hit and miss and extremely slow. Most things will just sit on an empty download circle icon and nothing happens. Hope the devs fix the bugs as the app has a lot of potential. Using an iPad Air 2 running iOS 13.1.

The beauty of Offline mode is gone. I am an active user of udemy courses and most of my time try to download content to learn during my way to work. This because of the lack of time and data. This option is perfect for people who has considerable time commuting to work or university. Once you finally download content which takes ages downloading, the app becomes to a vending machine so slow to delivery and play the content and also crash after a non response or time out. What's going on? Can you please fix this on the next release? Thanks in advance!

Good but can be improved. Udemy is a good platform to get knowledge about new areas and I totally love it. Specifically how they sell courses for a small price. But I noticed that the udemy app is slow and doesn’t supprt ipad magic keyboard functions. It’s better if the developers can improve the performance in this app.

Terrible. Absolutely idiotic update!! Can’t see my courses. Search doesn’t work. UI is completely terrible. It’s impossible to use this app. Every single time you changing UI/ UX experience of this app. Thats complete fail for any saas product. Disappointed

Can’t watch downloads. Can’t watch downloads, also they just disappear sometimes and so I have to redownload

Love to learn. This app is great! I love that all the courses have ratings, the teachers all have ratings. You can research before you pay. There are MANY FREE COURSES available too. I love that the teachers provided PDFs that you can print and save to go back to later if you’ve forgotten something. Those items are available forever now. No advertising interruptions during learning. Learn at your own pace, watch/listen to as many or few lectures as you want at a time. Sometimes I watch on my phone, sometimes cast from my phone to my tv, and even watch from my computer too. Super handy to have at your fingertips whenever I feel like learning.

Slow and next to impossible to read reviews. Not sure why but its next to impossible to read reviews as it freezes when you click “more reviews” and scroll down. Also, very slow

Great app but unable to filter Q&A. Really well done for a mobile application. I can follow along on even an iPhone, and create notes that are time stamped. The only gripe I have is that you cannot filter Q&A for the current lesson. You have to scroll endlessly for any Q&A specific to the lesson you are watching. The other improvement Id recommend is enable double tap on left of video for 15 second rewind and double tap on right side for 15 second fast forward. Other than that, this is a really good app to learn on any device.

Overheat issue!!!!. iPad Pro and iPhone both see overheat issue during video play. Please fix!!!!

Suggestion to improve. Please add course on manufacturing of big things as chapters thanks

Offline content. This app needs improvement for off line content. When I download some courses I cannot access it properly without internet.

Fantastic platform!. I have been with Udemy for a long time. You will find here tons of really good quality content that very affordable compared to alternatives. For me the only drawback is Playback speed. I have little time so I watch most courses at speed 1.5 or 2. Up to date I didn’t find a way to play faster than normal on a phone neither via web or app. The only way to do this is to view content on my laptop or desktop. Small inconvenience for quality of classes you get. Highly recommend

App crash when click on crash with ios 17.1. Hey guys I would lien to know that when I installed app on ios 17 after that click on course to purchase it does crash

APP DOESNT WORK ON APPLE TV. SO disappointed. I purchased a course and was stoked to use it then didn’t work on my Apple TV

Udemy need to take they’re own courses!. This app is worse than you could imagine, certainly from a UI perspective. Any course with more than 10 videos is difficult to navigate and the list of videos fails to stick with the videos you are watching. If you decide to skip ahead, good look finding where you were up to as it constantly keeps scrolling itself Back to the very beginning. Expand ‘ Collapse all!? You’d be so lucky, nope you cannot do this either. It’s truly as if the app developer needs to take some Udemy courses because it makes the latest iteration of iOS look terrible. Seriously, just use slightly more tolerable web version of Udemy because the app is an appalling abomination of an excuse for an education business. I could give excuses for a non profit but these guys are getting paid and worst of all, the developer of this app is too!!! I’d recommend Udemy begin offering some of it’s students some dev work as I’m certain they could do a far better job at this. It’s laggy, non intuitive, non inclusive with zero accessibility for those less able. It’s beyond excuses truly, just bad all around in every way, ios today make it easy for developers to do better and Udemy are clearly showing it’s not a priority to them.

Course downloads no longer working. Can no longer download corse for offline viewing.

Poor service. Very Bad CS !! Pb with the app . They charge me the course 149.99 +tax! Instead 14,99 cad! Now they refund me credits to buy more courses . I want my money back!! I want refund in my Visa card

No Apple TV support. After ios 14 update Apple TV support has been revoked!! very disappointing

Too Expensive. It’s only worth it when you initially join and courses are $10.99. There are many other great sites and apps available which are either free or give you unlimited access to all their courses for a very reasonable monthly fee.

Can’t gift a course from iPad. The FAQ section explains how, but the iPad interface seems to be missing a few buttons to gift courses.

Got billed but the course never shows up. Its a headache. Order ID MKZN5F580X DOCUMENT NO. 188239675948

only white screen. looks like app is not loading up please fix it thanks

App has so many issues. Now it won’t even open and I can’t even access my downloaded courses - which erase themselves, btw. Even after repeated updates with supposed bug fixes, it’s worse than ever

Poor privacy. They blocked my account for no reason and accused me that I connected to my account from a banned country. I emailed them for help. After three month following up, they said they not give back my account. Also, all what I paid for courses is gone. Supper disappointed with their privacy and customer services

Great app with an expensive glitch. I love this app. It will be 5 stars when they fix the issue I experienced: I downloaded many hours of lectures onto my phone to listen to while working. The app ended up streaming the lectures again which used a lot of data (4GB by the time I got the data alert). I tried listening to downloaded videos while on airplane mode and they will not play. Again, great app and great courses. The problem is just that I cannot listen to it while out of the house because it used up all of my data in a week when it should have used none.

Difficult to use on phone. Rotating to landscape opens the sidebar automatically rather than showing video in full screen, so every time the phone rotates the user will have to either manually close the sidebar or watch the video in a window that’s the same size as holding the phone in portrait.

Can’t sign in. It will not let me sign into the app at all, I can on the web browser but not the app. I even changed my password a few times.

White screen with audio. Nothing but a white screen with audio. Broken app.

Buggy. Udemy is a very great app to learn new things, but the app could definitely be better, because every time I open it, there is a different problem such as the app freezes. Stop using react native!

App crashing on start. Can’t open the app as its crashing.

What a trash app. I like Udemy platform , but this app is trash..always pops up like “an error has occurred while loading this lecture”..

Streaming with airplay doesn’t work. I love the website experience but the app is annoying. I spent a long time trying to get the course to cast on my tv. I do this with other apps regularly. I even got it to connect but all I get is a black screen and loading graphic. The iOS app is basically useless to me without this feature.

Udemy us great, but why can't I sign up with Apple?. My guess is because Apple anonymizes emails, and other logins don't. I managed to sign up with Google.

V8.55 iOS app crashes all the time.. App crashes with consistency.

100% broken on Apple TV. Too bad we can’t write reviews on the Apple TV App Store. 1.2 star rating because it won’t even open, but Apple and Udemy still have it up there wasting space.

Udemy is great, no doubt. But..... I absolutely love Udemy, but there are some things I wish they would change with their app and website view. 1) for the website you guys should add a option for dark theme. 2) for the app, you should add collections in it, it’s a little annoying trying to find some of my courses (without searching it) when I have them in a specific collection that I can’t access on the app only website. Also please fix the video view for iPhone. When I’m laying in bed wanting to watch it, it doesn’t go full screen without me unlocking my screen, then I have to deal with it switching views. It works perfect on my iPad but not my iPhone. Again Udemy is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone!

Offline option!. Thanks for offering the “Download Course” option. Makes the daily commute worthwhile!

Im trying to use the app lol. I downloaded the app due to the amazing courses I’ve attended on it and reviews I’ve came apon. But for some reason when I create a new account it won’t let me make one keeps saying check spelling to sign in lol I’m tryna sign up not sign in stupid😂 this would be 5 stars if I could use the Danm app lol

"Theft app " the worst app I have ever seen. This company is looking for ways to take advantage of people and steal their money. I am really disgusted. After a while with no reason they closed my accounts and said your account is suspended. I asked them to explain the main reason, but they did not say anything and did not open my account. Thief! Thief! Thief!

Great videos but a very buggy app. The courses on Udemy are great. However with my experience, every one in two videos will stop playing and it will show the buffering screen with the timer going. The only way to fix it is to end the app and open it again. Just going back a few seconds does not help as the video will again stop at the same location as it did before. Entire app needs to be closed for it to work again. The destroys the learning experience and focus. I do not face this weird issue with any other app that streams videos.

TV app is broken. The TV app crashes immediately on startup. The mobile apps work fine.

Bug. Theres a bug when I open the app, its just a white screen and nothing ever happens, Im on the latest ios with an Iphone 7. Pleaaseee fix it!!!

Good pour les tablettes mais pas sur les Chromebook.. Cette application fonctionne bien sur une tablette IPad ou Androïd mais certains cours ne fonctionnent pas sur Chromebook.

Can’t even create an account. There is a bug anytime I try to sign in or create an account. I click on a class and the app crashes. I just can’t use it.

Can’t open any course - the app crashes. The app’s updated to the latest version, I can’t open any course As soon as I click on the course the app crashes. Fiiiix please

Outdated platform, no updates. While the courses are good, the Udemy platform for mobile devices is disappointing. When going from pause to play, the screen remains dimmed still with the play/pause buttons still on, and you have to touch the screen again to make it disappear. The subtiles are in such a tiny font that completely defeats any purpose. Jumping from one video to another is choppy, often times leading to to videos sound playing at the same time. I have this app for years and did not see any improvement over time. It’s not user friendly and I think this company is getting complacent.

White screen. Video won't play, only audio and a white screen.

Screenshots not allowed. Otherwise a good app. But mobile iOS i need to take screenshots for me to remember what material to review later. All screenshots of the videos are empty. If I use Udemy on my laptop, I can make screenshots no problem. Why you force me to use my laptop?

Horrible app for iPad Pro wish I could give -5 stars. Horrible

Unstable platform. Content and teachers are excellent. The app (mobile and browser) is buggy which is incredibly frustrating and detracts from learning

Cannot play video. The iPad version used to work really well however I can’t even open the video since last month. It keeps loading video but never gonna play it. Also the download speed is so low.

DOES NOT WORK ON APPLETV. I only use the app on AppleTV but it is no longer working and not supported. It either needs to be fixed or pulled from the App Store!

Content great... if you can watch it. I have learned a lot from Udemy courses. It’s my go to for training. However, I can’t understand the approach Udemy has taken toward the Udemy app for Apple TV. You just cannot get the Udemy app to log in on Apple TV. Support indicates they don’t support Apple TV... anyway, you can stream from the iPad to Apple TV. Which brings me back to iPad app. Yes, I can stream to Apple TV, but playback typically stops after every video. So back to the iPad app to unlock just to stream the next lesson. Yes, you can stream, just not in a stable manner using iOS and Apple TV. Get this app if you’re streaming to Chromecast, avoid for Apple TV. Airplay is screwed in this app and there does not appear to be a fix coming any time soon.

Great courses! But it’s maddening to use!. The good: I’d say Udemy is designed impressively, giving me a sense of organization that no other courses app has given me. I’d also say that the multitude of courses available on Udemy is the best of any other app I’ve used. The terribly bad: I’ve spent over $40 on courses with Udemy, optimistic about learning. However, it is impossible for me to get through a single video without experiencing a conglomeration of multiple glitches that halts my focus and brings my progress to a standstill. Videos pause randomly after every couple of seconds, causing need to have to close the app and open it back up again just to get them going only for them to stop once again. Course is full on disappear from my courses list and once again force me to restart the app. Even with reliable Wi-Fi, the videos often load only a couple of seconds of video after minutes of loading. Overall the multitude of courses available with Udemy offer it great potential, but the non-stop software glitches I have experienced alone Have me telling people to use a different course offering the app instead.

Stable with a pleasing UI. I’ve been using the Udemy app on my iPhone and iPad for well over a year if not two years. It’s never crashed. I haven’t lost any files or progress. Udemy offers courses in a wide variety of topics, fields of studies, and choices of platforms to gain access to these courses. My interests are all over. Yet the tools I use need to be intuitive, accessible, engaging and FUN! I believe you can find these attributes and more here with the Udemy courses and instructors. I’m highly recommend this app along with the courses for flexible learning where ever and however you choose. Before it’s asked or assumed, I am not affiliated or employed by Udemy in any stretch of the imagination. I will not receive compensation for my review. I’m simply a member, a student, and a satisfied customer. TL;DR - Great reliable app, user-friendly and with a wide course selection. The instructors I’ve had are patient and respond to inquiries usually within 24 hour. It’s a yes from me. This could be the place to start investing in YOU. I hope you find this sincere review helpful. Please keep yourselves and others safe. We’re all in this together. #SocialDistancing #MaskUp 😷

DO NOT BUY THROUGH THE APP. I have STILL not received my purchased course.. I will never purchase through the app again. I bought a course during the cyber Monday deal and it has YET to appear in my courses catalog. I have the receipt from iTunes and sent an email along with it to the Udemy support email and still no response... I wanted to check this course out but I can’t... now there is money just floating around out there with no response to my email with the attached receipt proving that I purchased the course. I’m very aggravated about this... if I purchase something I should have it right then and there unless I preordered it and this wasn’t a preorder!! I should give the app 1 star over this inconvenience but I do enjoy using it and it does deserve 3 stars for that.

Love the courses but dislike the app. Recently, I needed to study for a couple of certification exams. So went to the main site, bought a few courses and started studying via the app on my iPad. Every so often I paused my lesson to take notes and while talking notes, the lesson would start playing by itself. I thought perhaps this was a one off situation, but apparently I was wrong. The issue continued again and again. Some times when I pause a lesson multiple times in a row, the lesson skips a lesson or two or sometimes four. I’m not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue. I’ve become annoyed by it and have decided to only watch the lessons via my laptop or desktop. This the only app where I’ve had this issue. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future version.

Struggles with offline video. My main use for this app is to download course videos to then view while offline. After beginning playback on a video, occasionally the video and audio will freeze. Other videos in the course will play fine, but the frozen video cannot be resumed. Quitting the app does not solve the problem. Since most courses are linear, I’m effectively locked out of progressing in the course until the video randomly allows playback again. I’ve also experienced the app completely shutting down and receive an error message the my device doesn’t have enough memory for video playback. I’ve never received this error from other video apps, so this seems like a Udemy specific issue.

Another rage quit... EDIT: manually download each lesson within the course fixed the problem. I can now watch the videos in airplane mode. ORIGINAL: Like another reviewer from a year ago, I downloaded 2 courses onto my iPhone for a trip I was taking that I wouldn’t have internet access. When I went to play the courses only a handful of lessons would work.. the rest just kept the loading wheel spinning on screen. Absolutely frustrating to try and watch courses that have been downloaded for a trip/flight just to find out they won’t load. Useless to even have a download option and extremely bummed when I saw this same issue had come up a year ago from another user. Seems like it never got fixed.

Used to be a great app. I don’t know what happened in the last update, but all of the courses I downloaded disappeared yet they’re still taking up space. I expect this app to work based on all the purchases I have made over the years. What I don’t expect is for all of my downloaded courses to disappear during my travels. When I am in a different country, it’s an inconvenience to have to re-download content especially when WiFi or internet service is so slow. Even a backup on my MAC failed to correct this. Additional issue is when I am online, downloaded courses buffer. What’s the point of downloading if it’s not going to work the way it’s intended? =============================== Update, developer response came way too late and with a common sense reply to download lectures again along with the app. Apparently they can’t figure out why data is corrupted when the app updates. The latest issue experienced is where I went play a lesson and download was removed. I click on the next lecture/video and it occurs again. Fully downloaded lectures are removed as you click on them. What’s the point of spending your hard earned money if your content will not be available or accessible when you have the time to watch it?

Unresolved Issue - Refund Problems. I recently purchased a course on Udemy. Unfortunately, the course content didn't match my skill level, so I promptly requested a refund. However, instead of processing the refund to my original payment method, Udemy attempted a reverse transaction, trying to take funds from my card. I contacted their support team, but my inquiries led to an automated response, and I couldn't find a suitable way to contact them further. My bank even advised me to reach out to Udemy directly. While I appreciate the courses on Udemy generally, this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I expected better customer support and a more straightforward refund process. I hope Udemy takes these issues seriously and addresses them promptly to avoid similar problems for other users.

Excellent app.... I didn’t find where to leave feedback so I just let you know here. I love this app. This is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to really learn practically anything. I would just like to point out that on the mobile app when I do a search on the My Courses section there is no way for me to go back to see all of my courses again and to make another search, instead I have to close the app completely and reopen to see all my courses again and make another search. Maybe you could fix that? Other than that the app runs great for me. *Edi:! Just updated the app and I see you had already fixed that issue. Love it!

Love Udemy, HATE HATE HATE the app. As others have stated, classes are excellent. Maybe whoever created the app should take some of the courses that way they could actually learn to be a real web developer. Constant crashes, lags in streaming, and the most annoying of all, downloads deleted. They “offer” the functionality of being able to download courses to watch them without an internet connection but the downloads will delete from the app within 5 minutes if you lock your phone. I have gotten on an airplane countless times only to see the endless load wheel and see that my videos are no longer downloaded. Terrible terrible app, Udemy should immediately fire whoever runs this for them because it seems like these problems have been going on for years and have never been fixed.

Needs Some Finishing Touches. So I have been using this app for a while now and I am impressed with how the app looks and feels. However there have been some issues when I downloaded my courses. The video will just stop when I am playing it even though the internet connection is fine. I can watch it on my computer and it plays through with no problem. When I download a video it will usually stop playing and freeze. I then have to go and un-download the episode and then start it back up and that usually fixes the problem but it is extremely inconvenient. I really like using this app and if this was fixed I would use it almost all the time instead of my computer

Great Courses, Terribad App. The saving grace on this app is it’s free. The courses notwithstanding, if I had paid for this app I’d be cursing the world for the money I spent. I’ve tried on my iPhone, the old iPad and new one. Same problems universally. Downloading courses will get hung up on courses and indefinitely stall. The app will automatically start playing courses from a pause or stop status, ruining whatever bookmark I’ve set (and I’ve talked to Udemy about this, they say to either turn on or off “play in background” and it happens both ways). The search functionality is subpar. Information about download or account is extremely vague to the point it’d be better to just eliminate that section. I’ll continue to use the app since it’s the only option for Udemy on the go, but very much looking forward to a complete revamp.

Garbage app betrays great content. The app used to do an adequate job of delivering content, but now the videos streams are so slow as to render the app unusable. The “must be” quality of streaming course content doesn’t exist, even on a 100 megabit connection, 4g, etc. I jokingly think Udemy is using a legacy AOL dial up connection to stream their course videos. From reading other reviews, it is clear that the Udemy team has known about this problem for a while, yes they do nothing to address it (or at least nothing that solves the problem). From a technical standpoint, scaling streaming of video content has been locked down for years. I hope this isn’t a financial problem (in terms of being throttled by cdn providers) because Udemy content can be outstanding. My user experience is so bad, that this is literally the first app review I’ve felt compelled to write. Sad.

Poor quality iOS application. Poor quality iOS application. Here are the issues 1) feature for downloading courses for offline access is very badly designed and takes a long time to download any courses 2) The size of the downloads is huge and takes up lot of space on the iPhone and other iOS devices. Offline downloads should be compressed for improving download times and space used on the devices. For example, similar learning apps like the one from Linux Academy have very quick course download times 3) App is not very responsive. Listing the courses after launching the app sometimes takes 15-30 seconds over regular WiFi connections. I am surprised by such a point quality app for such a great learning portal like Udemy. Hopefully the developers can review and make improvements in future versions of the app.

Streaming to external display is terrible.. The application itself when running on a single device is OK, however when trying to cast the course to an AppleTV or other external display, there is a significant issue that has gone unaddressed for years, according to the reviews on the AppleTV app that enables streaming. When streating uDemy courses from my iPad to my AppleTV + large display, whenever I have to pause the course the timeout before my iPad disconnects completely from the AppleTV is extemely short. I have not measure it, but it is 5 mins or less. This in itself would not be such a big issue if the iPad application did not disconnect completely from my Apple TV, requiring me to have to go back through all the motions to re-cast the course. In addition, when this happens, the course on my iPad automatically continues playing despite the fact that I paused the course. This causes me to loose my place in the course as the entire reason to pause a course is to be able to go away from the keyboard without loosing ones position. This makes this application unbearable to use on any casting display. I can tell this problem has been around for years, please fix.

Works fine. Update: I recently switched to the Udemy app with video open and it did not auto-play. Woke it from sleep with Udemy fore grounded and did not auto play. Looks like they might have fixed the bug. I still wish you could turn off auto play for next video but can manage. —- It has an obnoxious habit of auto-playing every time you switch back to the app or open a video. I hate having to fight with it to hit pause every single time I switch over of browse videos. Sometimes it loses downloads, so you think you’re prepared for offline use when you’re not. Update: The developer response to the auto-play issue is unacceptable. No other video-playing app does this. I share my iPad with other people, and I shouldn’t have to close out of Udemy every time I take a break because I’m worried they’ll open my iPad and it will auto play and I’ll lose my place. It won’t even stop when you switch windows, it will go directly to picture-in-picture, making it even harder to stop. This is aggressively anti-usability. My battery also runs down faster if I don’t close this app, even when my iPad’s asleep.

Repeatedly fails to load, reinstall required to fix. The app repeatedly hangs attempting to resume a video after some time being idle. It seems to be stuck in a loop trying to load the video. I can play videos from other courses, but to resume the stuck video I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Killing and restarting the app does nothing to help. Udemy has a history of releasing barely beta-quality apps that require a lot of fiddling. With the demise of the Apple TV app, and now this one becoming more and more unusable, I may have to find another vendor altogether. Update: I contacted support and got nothing but a runaround. Took several exchanges for them to understand that I was using a app and not a browser. Then they sent me a tutorial on how to use the app, and have now gone silent. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Customer Abuse!. Udemy suspended my accounts without any justifiable cause or prior notice. I emailed Udemy support and they slammed me with a label that my recent activity violated the Terms of Use without specifying what term. I have sent emails as well as 10+ support tickets in over 2 weeks without receiving any response. They just automatically closed my tickets, unanswered. They gave me no valid explanationnor told me for how long my account was suspended or what could be done for my account to be reopened. I checked their most recent Terms of Use thoroughly, and could not find anything that violates their terms. I only purchased 5 courses with my hard-earned money (over $50) on their official sales, and enrolled in 2 courses with coupons over about half a year. And i did/do not spam or pestered instructors or anything that nearly violate the terms of use. I contacted them through the Online Chat window on their site, the supporter said “we leave no emails unanswered”. What a lie! Until now i still do not know why my account was suspended or for how long, and received no support whatsoever. There are hundreds of Udemy users whose accounts were suspended without valid reason like me, and they too were ignored by Udemy customer support. This is so unprofessional in terms of ethics by an educational company doing this with students. This is sheer customer abuse. Give my account back!

Needs more support for pro subscribers. The app is great at viewing courses you’ve paid for. However, it’s very cumbersome to access courses you’re enrolled in, via the Udemy Pro subscription. From my experience, I’m unable to download, save, or bookmark any courses I have access to through the the subscription. I like the app and the premise of Udemy, as a whole. However, I feel as though I’m not getting the value from my subscription if I’m not able to access it easily. The app has nothing regarding the Pro subscription. I understand this is a relatively new avenue for Udemy but I would think that they would heavily advertise it and make it the easiest way to view course content. When Pro subscription content becomes easier to navigate in the app I will gladly come change my review.

Great app. Updated: Latest app update fixes all issues on iPad. Great app again! Previous post: Ever since the update a week or so ago the app will not play lessons on my iPad Pro. I can hear the sound but the screen is all white. I have to force quit the app to stop the lesson sound. All courses I have will not work. It works fine on my iPhone. Today, I tried to look at my courses on both Safari and Chrome on my iPad and when you click on the My Courses button you get the message: “Start learning from over 55,000 courses today. Browse now.” When I select Browse now, nothing happens. As it is right now i can only use Udemy on my iPhone Udemy app. Not acceptable.

Awful. This is perhaps the worst and buggiest mobile app I’ve ever used. Out of memory errors and crashing occur with almost every video. Videos constantly get out of sync with audio and have to be paused and unpaused. Downloads mysterious disappear and become unavailable. The quizzes refresh constantly dare you try to scroll. Tapping the Open Quiz button stops working. Tapping another video and then back on the quiz allows it to open again. Using the app with no network connection is where awful really comes into its own. It won’t even load your courses if you don’t have a network connection, even if you’ve already downloaded the entire thing. Just loads to a blank screen. Every so often the audio will play with the app just blank and no video. Don’t try to use this junk on an airplane or a subway. It’s so bad that I wouldn’t buy a single additional course if intended to use the app on mobile. Beware.

Please fix the app downloads. I am a huge fan of Udemy, thank you for providing such a great service! I’m really sorry to ask this, but when do you plan to fix the “download course” issue? Previously, I could download the coursework and watch anywhere. Now it doesn’t download, and even if it says download is complete, if I disable internet, the videos don’t load. It’s very frustrating. I understand your development team probably is overloaded with tasks, but I believe this is a show stopper for you since there might be many more like me. I hope this issue is being worked on, keep up the great work that you’ve been doing! I’ll always be a fan!

iOS app is pretty much a disaster. While Udemy has some great content, this review is for the iOS app, which is unfortunately incredibly buggy. Screen often flips upside down, major problems downloading and playing back offline content. With each update, these major issues never seem to be addressed. Some updates make it even worse. After giving the app dozens of chances, I've concluded at this point the app is currently almost completely unusable. Please just bite the bullet, and hire someone competent to fix or rewrite the app from scratch!! With all the income from users, surely there are resources to fix this. Your users deserve it. (And they certainly do NOT deserve getting update after update promising to fix issues and left with an app that's as buggy as ever. Seriously, does anyone even test these things before they're sent out? I am doubtful.)

After a year of problems they keep making the app worse. Latest update broke the link between my app and downloaded content. As in I have 36 gig of saved videos but the app says I have 0. Udemy keeps getting worse and worse. I used this app because of the download component, to do things on the road which consistently doesn’t work, and keeps getting worse. They add things like reminders to continue courses. But are consistently bad at video replay, downloads, and even accessing the course at all. Video replay, the video immediately starts where you left off when you open the app. Even if it’s minimized. The problem with this is when you maximize the screen the video the restarts where it was originally but keeps playing the audio that started when you opened the app. So now you have two audio streams playing 15 or 20 seconds apart over each other. Downloads have lots of issues. Accessing courses; currently I have 4 downloaded, my “my course page” opening it up today is empty. Can’t see or get to things I paid for. The courses on here are good if you find the right instructors but Udemy itself is a big failure, and keeps adding little features without fixing very important basic problems.

Apple TV app doesn’t work and Airplay/chrome cast needs work. You cannot use this app if you want to stream to a TV. As soon as you leave the app it’ll go into an infinite spin on your TV or will jump back to the beginning of the course. It will also not auto play the next section until you open the app and manually start the next section. On the Apple TV app you can’t even sign in. Every single time you try to sign in it just says unable to sign in it doesn’t matter whether you’re trying to sign in with an email and a password, or if you’re trying to sign in using their easy signing feature. However I was never even able to get the easy sign in feature to work. Please fix these bugs because I am constantly trying to use Udemy on the TV. It is kind of a pain to have to plug my computer in to the TV after running an extension cable all the way across the living room to be able to use the app

HORRIBLE. Absolute waste of money and time due to BAD SUPPORT SERVICE. Do not purchase. I purchased 2 courses from Udemy. Both disappeared after I corrected my user name. I corrected the user name as I was trying to watch the course in my IPAD while I followed along on my laptop. The courses disappeared off my IPAD after the user name correction, but Now I cannot get into my courses on my laptop or my IPad. I am not be able to get help. Udemy keeps sending me an automated response when I try to contact them for help. I’ve already looked through all the automated help articles and none of the articles fix my problem. In all reality, Udemy should not force customer to research numerous articles to trouble shoot problems as this can eat up a great deal of the customers time, and should offer a 1-800 trouble shooting help number. So I’ve wasted a lot of time and a significant amount of money.

Downloading offline issues. Udemy is great overall. Good content but problematic when it comes to downloading course content offline 😳. Downloads don’t always complete and are unavailable even when it seems like they may have downloaded. This is a major pain point for travelers who don't have internet access when traveling and just want to take the course. Might be a UX issue though. Suggestions : 1. Please add a clear download status % indicator for each item. A percentage indicator might work better. 2. Enable true offline access (currently cannot access downloaded udemy without internet access at all). 3. clearly show which downloads are complete and which aren't. Currently the app makes it look like everything is downloaded but once you're without WiFi, the course content is unavailable. A clear download % status would fix this issue. Could change from a red downwards pointing arrow (which is meant to indicate a "downloaded item") to a green tick mark, which makes more sense. Overall a great service and helpful educational resource. Thanks! on the newest iPad Pro, up to date iOS 11.

Glitch in the app and no way to contact support. I was doing okay with this app until today. I opened it up and none of my classes were showing, so I closed the app and restarted it, nothing. I logged off and closed the app. I tried to log on with my email and password and I get an error message. I am able to log on via the web. Went to see if I could get help, there isn’t a contact email or number to get in contact with. I get put on the loop looking to see if my problem has been answered. Well, no it hasn’t. It’s very frustrating. When it’s working it’s great. I don’t have streaming problems or navigating to the class I want to view. Just disappointed that like most things in life, customer service isn’t there.

Restore Purchases?. UPDATE: I had to come update my review because 1) The developer took the time to reach out to me personally to address my concerns about my disappearing courses and 2) by some MIRACLE of the technology gods, my courses have returned. I appreciate all that you did to help me. The app has worked great ever since. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••I paid for SEVERAL classes and certifications and prior to updating the app, they were all listed under “My Courses”. Now all of a sudden they are gone. I am so disappointed, as I have recommended this app to several students and instructors. This is an embarrassment. There should be an option to restore purchases to eliminate glitches like this one!

Bugs, and almost useless feature.. Rating based on app, not courses. The iOS app is very clunky and slow to load. Inconsistent operation where I have to restart the app for it to respond. Sometimes I download lectures because of no access to Wi-Fi and when trying to access the downloaded lessons, the app will still try to access the material through wi-fi and ignore the downloaded lesson. After several restarts, it finally runs the lesson. Very inconsistent operation. In the Cisco course that I’m taking, none of the simulations run on my iPad. A simple terminal emulation for some reason doesn’t run. Useless feature is the Q&A. It only allows the asking of questions, even if you’re the 50th person to ask the same question. NO SEARCH FUNCTION!!! I don’t like wasting people’s time asking the same question that many others have already asked and been answered. I was trying to see if maybe they were ordered by lecture number so I can scroll through the hundreds of questions to find what I need, but NOPE, they’re not in lesson order! In my opinion a complete waste of a resource. You might as well not show anyone’s questions when getting into the q&a.

Good, but.... I bought a few courses on the last sale and so far things work ok. Udemy itself makes it easy for users to return a course and get a refund quickly – if you bought the course through the website and not through the app. Luckily I realized that before I bought a course. There should be an option to purchase a class with credit card or paypal through the app to get rid of the hassle. And there is a big bug, at least in one of my courses. When I try to open pdf documents from the resources, I often only get a grey screen that says “original pdf document”. The documents worked before, so I don’t know, what the problem is. Sometimes restarting the app works, but not always. If I can’t access the documents important to my class, it makes no sense to use the app.

Content good, app bad. The content on the app is thorough and affordable when on sale. However, it will be marking my videos watched as I complete them, then after watching like 5-10 of them, suddenly it will uncomplete all the videos I’ve watched thus far, and I have to manually go through and skip to the end of every video for it to mark as finished again. It’s annoying because it changes the percent of what I have finished thus far which is SUPER important on keeping me motivated. Also, when you minimize the app, the video attempts to stay up in a small screen but it just stays on a loading image, then when you go back into the app, it is a black screen, and you have to restart the app.

Video Playback Issues. I would rate higher, but there are two issues causing problems with my experience. The “Play Audio in Background” and “Auto-play next lecture” options are both enabled. However, when i press the sleep button to turn off only my screen the audio stops and requires a press of the play button. When a lecture finishes, the audio stops and requires a press of the play button. It seems like a small issue, but when you have 3-15 minute lectures it can get it the way of my listening experience. I attempted to find a bug report area but could not find one. Perhaps udemy peeps who read this can pass along the bug? The features I mentioned above do not operate as I believe they are intended. I could be misunderstanding the intention though..

Don’t have video. This is very unfortunate. Since the update, I cannot see the classes (videos) on my iPad Pro. I can hear the video but the image is just blank. I tried restarting the iPad, deleting and reinstalling the app and I end up with the same results. No point in using this app if I cannot see the videos. I hope this gets fixed very soon. I cannot wait until I get home all the time to get in my computer. Hence I downloaded the app. Edit: Changed from 1 to 5 stars. From the moment I sent the issue to how long it took to resolve it was really fast! Now I can watch my videos on the go with my iPad. So is well worth it if you are talking classes or need a refresher.

Red upgrade problems fixed it seems. I upgraded from the green logo to the red one this morning and had the audio only white screen problem others had reported. I restored the green version and opened a ticket with Udemy and they acknowledged the problem and thanked me and passed it on to there engineering team. Several hours later they let me know a new version was uploaded to address the problem. I tried it and it did fix it. I know it was probably a coincidence but I will take full credit anyway. 😄 Lousy q & a, but quick resolution (from my perspective). Can't say the change in logo and other changes are any better, but at least it is working (I liked the green better) now.

Horrible experience with in-app purchase. I placed an order for a course which is usually easy, then it started asking for my password when I was already logged in! After entering correct password a few times it didn’t recognize it then there was something with Apple ID. It was confusing frustrating especially after a long day. I had to jump out of bed and turn on my laptop to make a simple purchase.. idk why they make it so difficult now. Btw I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing. Otherwise Udemy does have excellent courses from top notch teachers that you can buy for a good price.

Chromecast casting still does not work!!. A couple little annoying things about the app, but overall mostly works just fine. But my main issue is, casting to Chromecast doesn’t work! I swear it did at some point, but it’s been so long now, at least 1+ year, that it has not. The app “loads” then immediately skips through each video, but still marking them as completed. No actual video plays on the tv, it just skips through each one. I was hoping for some improvement after the recent iOS updates, but no dice. It doesn’t skip and mark all as complete like before, but simply stays stuck on any video I select and never actually loads any of the video. So many times I’ve tried to load up a course to watch while doing laundry and such :(

Terrible App...using browser is better!. This app is terrible. There’s no other way to describe it. I LOVE Udemy but this app is borderline useless. Why? Here’s the short, sweet version: - MAJOR buffering issues. - Difficultly downloading content offline (courses take FOREVER to only partially download. So, downloading content isn’t a solution for the buffering issue) - App crashes regularly. - When it doesn’t outright crash, the app will become unresponsive and need to be restarted every few videos. - Place holders in videos are lost every time the app crashes/needs to be restarted so you’re constantly trying to figure out where you left off. Honestly, most of the time I get fed up and don’t use the app. If I can’t get to my laptop, I just use my phone’s browser. It’s not the best UX but it’s much less buggy when compared to the app. I can’t stress enough how bad this app is. I find myself constantly looking at the AppStore to see if there’s an update. (Even with autoupdates turned on, I STILL check. I want this to work so bad!) I’ve waited at least 6 months to see if bug fixes were going to be dealt with before writing this review. For such a large platform, you’d think they’d have better tech support. It’s only a matter of time before another online learning platform overtakes Udemy in the marketplace. All they’d have to do is have a functioning app...

Problem with full section. I’ve recently run into a problem with a huge course through the mobile app only. Whenever I first open up the app, it gets through most of the sections in tact until about the 15-20th section, and then ends up only displaying one video for the rest of the sections, but those videos are from different sections somehow. After a while of being on one course it tends to switch all the videos for every section to a new section. What I mean is all the videos for section 15 are now in section 1 for some reason, please fix this - I love to use this app and this does not happen on the website, so I’d love to be able to fit time in to learn everything I can from Udemy!

Great courses. I really like Udemy. After sites like DigitalTutors became subscription only, there wasn’t a good way to get detailed courses in 3D. Gnomon has a few, and some other places. But Udemy fills that void nicely and there’s so much else. IOS programming, AI, it’s great. Highly recommended. [After the update or iPhone X, there was a playback bug that caused my iPad to play videos with a white screen. This bug has been fixed. I think the tvOS bug has been fixed too (it was a milder thing where the next video sometimes wouldn’t play until you backed out and selected it again... which was frustrating if you had to scroll through a long list of lectures each time).]

Promising but crashes - updated and no more crashes. I’ve had the app for a while but hadn’t actually started going through the courses until today. I have only completed the first bit of one course because it crashes every little bit. If I lock my phone, the course continues and I can listen to it, but if I unlock my phone to do anything or to watch the video, the app crashes and either restarts itself or must be restarted manually. I hope this gets fixed, as I am very interested in being able to continue learning while working. Updated to 5 star after uninstalling and reinstalling. No crashes had so far.

Awesome Support Experience. I was having trouble viewing my course videos, so I used the app's built-in support feature to request help. Within 5 hours, I received a personalized email from the support team notifying me that they were on top of the problem. Within 24 hours, I received a follow-up email from the support team indicating that they had fixed the bug and had pushed an update to the app store. So I immediately updated the app on my device, and sure enough, the bug was fixed. Thanks to both Chloe and Florian for keeping me informed about the status of my request for support. Bravo!

Whats to love about Udemy. I Love how the instructors seem like real people... not puffed up allusions of intellectuals; that’s important to me. I love the different resources that Udemy has to offer. Love how while, during this time of information technology, other sites price gorged & the prices here have remained respectable and humane for the learning individual for years news. Therefore, I can actually feel some trust and consistency. I Love how you can go at your own pace, and keep the classes you’ve purchased; indefinitely and I Love how you can get certifications from accredited sources; then still refer back latter for your notes and Even interact with instructors. Plus, I still have enough for dinner... Thank you...

Impedes the Mobile Learning Experience. The mobile app is so bad that i would not recommend the service. The web version of the app offers the ability for the user to organize courses via lists. This feature is either none existent or hard to find in the mobile version. Also, I cannot find a way to mark a course as a favorite (another feature easily found in the web version). AppleTV is a great way for me to view courses while trying things out on my ipad. Udemy use to have an app on AppleTV. Now they do not—just a message instructing the user to use screen mirroring. This is counterproductive and frustrating. My recommendation for those with mobile use cases: don’t waste your money. Purchase a service that enhances your learning experience, not impedes it.

Great courses, painful iOS experience. I have to say that I’ve been very happy with the Udemy courses I’ve taken. What I’m. Not happy with is the iPad app. I was hoping the issues were just with my old iPad but the new one has the same issues. These courses are great for watching while on long flights...if you can get them to download. There’s not really much feedback when you click download so you have no idea how it’s progressing or even if it’s progressing. I’ve tried to download multiple courses and I show that the Udemy app is using almost 4GB of storage, yet I don’t see what videos are really using that. I’ve been attempting to download another course for over an hour and have no idea if it’s progressing or not. Nothing shows as downloaded. Two different iPads, I’ve had these issues on both.

Watching courses is really buggy downloading for offline is the worst. If there was zero stars I will give it to this udemy app, for the past 7 days I have continually tried to download courses for viewing offline and it keeps deleting them by magic. No explanation. No, my storage is not full. It just keeps deleting them this is the fourth time it is chugging my a collective of more than 110gb of downloaded data down the drain. The courses are great, Udemy is almost great but this app for offline viewing has caused me a lot of pain. Update: it turns out the reason your downloaded courses gets deleted on iPad is a change of WiFi source. That is just ridiculous. Change from office WiFi to your phone hotspot, Udemy: “hey! Why you do that? He needs to be punished. Delete all his content”. Ridiculous software.

Frustratingly Buggy App. Came here just to affirm what’s already been said about this app well over a year ago. And that’s an honest shame because it can’t be said enough how much the site content of udemy has reinvigorated my passion for programming. If you’re like me, you probably checked the reviews to see if you weren’t going crazy and it’s true: video duplication, inaccurate progress syncing/tracking, no option to disable autoplay on video pull-up, issues with downloading/going offline, it’s all here and accounted for even after being acknowledged by developers for more than a year. I’m looking forward to resuming my classes on a new Surface Go soon, but this is such a letdown for mobile users. You have an excellent platform, don’t let a poor mobile experience stop people from enjoying (and thus spending more on) your product! For reference, I’m using an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS.

Videos stop playing. The concept is EXCELLENT I downloaded my courses and they still had issues being played back. They stopped playing. It happened with two of the 5 courses I purchased. There is no contact us tab which is annoying. The troubleshooting page is not really helpful for this specific issue. Even with WiFi or LTE I was having issues. You can’t get the credit if you can’t watch the video fully. Also I completed some videos and I didn’t get the check mark saying completed! Perhaps this is because of the sale they just had, I don’t know. I’d like to continue learning without the videos stopping.

No Split View on iPad Pro. I’ve been using the Udemy app for about a year now and I’ve liked their classes and sale prices, but I recently bought an Apple Pencil 2 and GoodNotes 5 which made me excited to take notes while taking classes, but Udemy dose not support split view. You can do slide over but it’s largely inconvenient to write on a pad so small. I did find you could go to Udemy via your web browser and sign in and use split view, but if you like to pre-download your course, like I do, the downloaded content you have on the app will not show via web browser. Unfortunately I still have several paid course I need to finish up, but after I do I’ll be looking for another online course app unless Udemy can keep up to date with mobile users.

THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU A REFUND!!!. I have requested a refund for a class that I found for free somewhere else; and i no that I have 30 days left for the refund. I requested the refund and they ask me if I wanted it back on my card, i said yes. Its been over 2 weeks i have not gotten my refund. They gonna wait until my 30 days to tell me that I cannot get my refund. They was suppose to be processing it and they told me that ill have my refund in 3-5 business days i dont see nothing. Then, and i go to my purchase history on the app, it doesn’t even show that I requested a refund for that class. This app to me feels like a scam and they lie to u. The classes I bought, i can get for free on another social platform that i will not mention. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT BEFORE YOU BUY A COURSE, MAKE SURE YOU CANT FIND THE COURSE FOR FREE ANYWHERE ELSE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE IT ON UDEMY; BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!
