💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

At a time was a great app and money saver, now not so much. I’ve earned a lot of money using this app over the years and it has helped in tough times. Unfortunately I have only used it a handful of times in the last 6 months because it has become so inconvenient to use, as well as not having the items I’ve repeatedly purchased over the years available, as they once were. You have to watch a video for 70% of what you want to unlock. This takes a lot of time especially when you go through sooo many categories of items that are on there, multiple times, and separated by a variety of the product. (Size/flavor/etc). And if you’re listening to music to help pass the time, it won’t continue after the ad is over. And fat chance you’ll find it available for the store you purchased it from when it’s restricted to one store, the store you didn’t purchase it from. Also a major thing is that you STILL have to unlock every item. Other apps allow you to just scan your receipt and that’s it. It finds the offer if there’s one available. Ibotta has been around for long enough to have that technology available. Most of the bonus offers now are just to recruit people to join but I’ll be among my “teammates” in no time, non-existent because it’s just become so time consuming and not much to offer after you’ve spent 20+ minutes just looking for items on your recipient, hoping to get cash back for, but sadly don’t end up with anything!

Review much like others. I have earned >$500 with this app and used since 2014. I did recommend it to others as well. Like other reviews, I have seen the product choices veer somewhat from those I use or would be great to try to ones I have no interest in trying. Walmart seems to be the best store for matched offers and ease of receipt submission. And there is no loyalty card. Checking offers off on my list and a photo of the receipt in the car immediately and my account gets credited—done. I agree with other reviews about linked loyalty card problems: not all the earned offers and bonuses were credited from a Food Lion shopping trip, and it was a big (!) hassle. (This is the second time this has occurred with Food Lion.) To have to take a photo of the receipt and package fronts and bar codes from all items with offers is ridiculous considering the expected time saving and ease of submission a linked card should allow. And the time delay after waiting several days to see if the credit would appear, and then contacting customer service means- yes you guessed it- of course items have been consumed and packaging discarded so further emails have to be sent indicating this. I don’t shop Food Lion too often for items that might have offers and don’t plan to any longer. It isn’t worth the time! Thanks developer for the responses I see after other reviews; please address these two issues.

Penalized for inactivity. Considering how long it can take to even earn anything on this app (since most of what is offered isn’t what I purchase, or is listed after I made the purchase and doesn’t count), it seems utterly ridiculous that they would penalize you $4 for inactivity. Especially when you EARNED that money via the rebates from the items that you purchased! First, we have lives. Some of us have different and rotating shifts, a wedding to plan for, children, etc, and the top priority isn’t always to check the app for that ONE time you MIGHT finally find a rebate that you actually want to purchase at the store. The times you do check (because I had checked), you don’t even find anything, so now there’s still “inactivity”. Maybe you should consider having people upload receipts and earn smaller incentives that way (like Coin Out)- at least that way you don’t lose the money you earned (that likely took forever to earn), because of inactivity. It’s bad enough how long it can take to even look through the items and click on what you think might want (after watching a video or answering questions), and then have to scan the darn barcodes if you happen to have purchased the item, but then you get penalized if you don’t actually find something you want to purchase because of inactivity? Sorry, but that’s wrong and a total ripoff!!!!

Too redundant. I had downloaded the app years ago and thought I had deleted it after I cashed out my $20 because it took too much time. Then I started getting emails saying I had earned money etc. I figured they were scam emails until I read somewhere you can never escape the program. I opened one of the emails and realized it had started tracking my purchases again through a grocery loyalty card. I reinstalled the app and there were several dollars added to my account. I decided to start using the app again and realized they had changed some things but it still is more labor intensive than it needs to be. Granted, it’s nothing but an advertising gimmick but the products you get money back on stay too long and I realize they haven’t gained any new companies to hawk. The same products in the grocery section are repeated in the convenience section instead of having different products that you would actually buy at a convenience store. They also take away the rebates on the items you actually use once you have bought them 2 or 3 times. If they’d change the choices occasionally it would be better, but then they would have to pay out more money so you know that won’t happen. If they start making me change my password every month and charge me a fee for not using the app, I will try to remove all my information and delete my account but from what you read these guys won’t let you escape, it’s like a cult.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!. I have tried a few apps similar to Ibotta, but really liked the way Ibotta’s app worked and am using it solely. I had heard so many great thing about Ibotta, but it wasn’t to last. I thought things were going great until I realized that since the time I started using the app, I wasn’t getting credited for any Walmart offers. As Walmart is were we buy most of our groceries, this was an issue. So I set aside some time to send a report/msg to the developers of the app. In response, I received an email requesting I scan EVERY barcode of everything previously purchased & provide a list of long-since expired offers in order to get the credit. I mean shouldn’t the developers have that info already?!!! Who has the time to go through EVERY grocery item you own and scan the barcodes? Not me. Why do you think I signed up for Ibotta to begin with??? TO SAVE TIME clipping coupons. I have since cashed out and will be deleting this app as soon as my bank account is credited....IF I even get THAT! I do NOT recommend this app or this developer. SOME customer service...smh! Complete ridiculousness and a total waste of my limited time. Some customer service...smh. 😒🙄

Mistakes on their part are wasting my time. I am not usually one to write negative reviews. I bite my tongue and just deal with it. But this is ridiculous. I have used Ibotta for many years with very few issues that I could not overlook until now. Two of my recent submissions to Ibotta have been rejected. One was an online reservation I made for a hotel through the Ibotta app. I never received reimbursement in the form of 5% (I can’t remember the exact deal it was). I have written to their support team and have gotten the same response which told me to do EXACTLY what I did! “Click on the ‘shop’ link and it will take you to the hotel site. Then make your purchase.” Yes. I did that. I have reiterated this to the Ibotta support team and they have the same response over and over. Enough. The other dispute was a receipt I uploaded the day after I made the purchases. They came back and said they rejected it because I had waited too long to submit the receipt. No. I submitted it the next day which is within the time period. There are better things I could be doing with my time than arguing with their incompetency and inability to admit that the mistake is on their end. I highly doubt I will continue to use this app as dealing with their “support staff” and incompetency are just too much. I’ve worked for large companies in the past who are willing to admit when they have made a mistake and done something to appease the customer. Such is not the case with Ibotta. Too bad.

Its ok, but doesnt quite work as intended.. So, some items have a button that says “can’t find this item?” But other items dont. Often times I cannot find a product in the store, and i look on the app to find the button and report that the item is no longer in stock, but the button isnt there. Why not? I have no idea. Most items are in general, not available, and the ones that are available, I dont want to buy. But every once and a while you’ll find a good deal. Just don’t expect to use this to save a lot of money. There are also some weird UI decisions. I shop at a few grocery stores listed in the app, and you can choose to “star” your favorite stores, but theres no list of stores that contain your starred stores. Instead, theres an algorithmic list on the home page that suggests stores to you, and if you want to find a specific store, you have to search for it. “Starring” a store does nothing. Eventually, the algorithm will learn which stores you search the most, and it will start to suggest that store to you on the home page. But this will be a frustrating experience if you’re new to the app, or if you move to different area with different stores. Its just a crazy decision, I really cannot figure out a reason for the algorithm to suggest stores. Its confusing and not user friendly at all. I never even click on the stores that are suggested to me, since I only go to the grocery stores near me.

App run by untrained and unethical people. If I could give this app 0 stars I would. I recently joined this app and so far have received only bad experiences. They locked my account for no reason last week so I could not withdraw any cash. I emailed them and am still waiting for a response, so they are not at all time efficient. It will be exactly 7 days tomorrow. Instead of helping me out I received notifications today that I have submitted fraudulent receipts which I never have to this present day. I never submit screenshots, always the original receipt from Target. Moreover, they reversed $6 in credits telling me I had submitted old receipts. Again I have always submitted receipts within a week of purchase as indicated in their policies. Please DO NOT waste your time with this app. They scavenge on people who are innocent and trying to follow all rules. Completely unethical and unprofessional customer service. People who try to use rebate apps so they can save money can bid their money goodbye by using such an app. There are much better rebate apps out there that do not need barcode scanning and receipt uploading and phone verification. It is like we are at the airport and going through security. So many hoops to jump just to save a few $$$$. Spare me the trouble. I have only respected and appreciated their rules all to get a notice that I am fraudulent. If you ask me, this app and the team running it are the biggest frauds of all. Never using this app again.

LOTS of bugs!!!! FIX IT!. 👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻Just make it easy for us and automatically select everything!!!👈🏻👈🏻👈🏻 * I have to mindlessly go through each item to select everything because if I go through each item and decide if I’m going to buy it or not, it exhausts me like nothing else. * *As if having to go through each and every item in order to get rewards back wasn’t annoying enough, now if you do that, after selecting about ten to twenty items, a popup appears that says you have to wait a minute before selecting more. ***To top it off, they’ve updated it again, making it even more annoying!! So now after you get a popup to wait, go do something else while waiting, come back and instead of it having where you left off, it reloads and starts at the top again. So you have to scroll down to find where you were at. **** Also, 90% of the time I’ll buy an item, upload my receipt, get no rewards, then the next week I’ll look at Ibotta’s new items and half the things I bought last week are on there. They need to make it so we resubmit a receipt. Most of the things I buy that are on ibotta don’t work and if you submit your receipt and then realize you had something else on your receipt to redeem, you cannot resubmit it. Annoying to have to select each thing to redeem instead of it automatically scanning your receipt like Fetch does.

Good and bad. While it is absolutely amazing to get anything for cash back and appreciated, even .10 back adds up! it is also absolutely irritating and annoying that if you go to a store w/o a barcode on the end of the receipt you have to scan each individual barcode & sometimes you still have to scan individual items even w/ barcode b/c for some reason the app can’t register the products selected on your list after doing each section of your receipt, also like tonight I had one selected item on my list that was 1.00 back and it said There was 8 hours LEFT and it vanished after only TWO HOURS, VERY VERY ANNOYING!! while there is a lot of items to select a lot of them are things that I don’t buy and most people don’t because We’re all broke and there is a cheaper selection your going to have to go with the cheaper item, it takes a long time to go through all the products to select what you want to add to your list for cash back which is fine but only certain items are at certain stores, it would be a lot better app if you could snap your receipt(with or without barcode) and it would automatically add the same cash back items from the receipt that are available at any store not just one or a few

Losing steam. This app was AWESOME at first!! I recommended it to literally anyone that would listen! Even complete strangers that I would see at the checkout. Now, you can’t get a response from the ‘Care’ Team. Even when you show detailed photo proof with the receipt, the UPC & the product front & back; by the time you actually get a response, the receipt is more than a week old & they deny you credit. Then when you bring it to their attention that you submitted it within the allotted timeframe, you get a response stating that you were given credit for the purchase. BUT there is a way to check!! In your ‘My Earnings’ option, you can see if you earned credit; which obviously shows that you NEVER received credit for the purchase!!! The ‘Care’ Team has lost its empathy! The response time used to be very short, now you’re LUCKY if you receive a response in 7 days!!! I’m positive that they will claim that they are bombarded with tons of claims & emails that they are trying to respond to each one. But if they had let us know that when they reached a certain number of users that they would be overwhelmed & not intend on expanding their team member staff; I would have stopped recommending this app when that number was reached! You beg us to share this app, however you apparently don’t care enough to expand your staff enough to handle all of the claims & new members??

Used to love this app...2 for 2 on poor customer service. Have been using this since September of 2016 and have saved over $900. Offerings at first were great. Lots of products I normally use and you could utilize them multiple times. Selection now is not great. Will go months without any items I use. I have had many incidences of scanning the item in store and getting home and it saying it doesn’t match. I generally use Target. This last weekend I used the pick up in store option as my daughter was getting out of the hospital. I have used it before for the dry things then grab the cold things in store before grabbing the order. They always give me a print receipt. This time the printer wasn’t working. They emailed me the receipt I emailed customer care and the first reply that took a few days said they reviewed it and would pass it to the correct team. That team member wouldn’t honor it at all. Basically would have to return the items to rebuy to get a receipt. I used to promote this app to everyone (coworkers, friends, patients...) I no longer will. A situation that was out of my hands wouldn’t be honored. This was my 2nd time contacting customer care in nearly 3 years and they were unwilling to be helpful at all. I think I will use the other apps that my friends recommend instead. Customer service is everything and so is word of mouth. It’s too bad when an app gets popular the customer service goes down.

It used to be good, not any more. I used to love Ibotta. Have been using it for 2.5 years now, and for a long time it was great to have really good monthly earnings. The average month I would get no less than 25 in cash back. There were months I got 40 something, 50 something and there was even a month when I earned almost 85. The more I purchased, the more offers, bonuses and cash back I would get. Ibotta seemed to reward me more and more, and included me in a beta savers program. I started getting more exclusive bonuses, but that was also when I started seeing less and less offers from the products and brands I like, making it harder to earn cash back, or to achieve the required amount of redeemed offers for certain bonuses. As a result, my monthly earnings have decreased so much in 2021, making it less and less exciting to even use the app. Most of the products I buy and used to be available in Ibotta are not available any more. In the past, I used to be able to add 6-10 offers weekly of my favorite products. Now, I hardly get one or two offers MONTHLY. I see that I’m not alone in this complaint as other users have mentioned the same in their reviews. It’s disappointing. I hope Ibotta pays attention to this and make some improvements about it. If this goes on, I will most likely end up deactivating my account and no longer using the app. If they do make improvements, I will surely change my review and give it the 5 stars I would surely have given it 1 or 2 years ago.

Consumer UN-serviced…. I could not be more frustrated with this app due to making what should’ve been a simple, technical workaround so complicated they can’t even answer question… my question was not even complicated. I didn’t ask for the solution to an unsolvable math equation… no. I asked why I could not cash out what I had rightfully earned and sent 5 screenshots of the information all supporting the facts that I could cash out. Two days later I received a impersonal email response that stated… and I’ll directly quote here…. “ As a security measure, we have increased the validation period for Ibotta accounts. Please try to withdraw your earnings again in a few days. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue using the app and to take advantage of our many offers and bonuses.” Why would I do that if I can’t cash out in the first place? Why wasn’t I informed of the changes during the whole 2-3 days my account was active? How is this solving my concerns when all available FAQs, etc. pointed to my account simply needing to be “unlocked” because it is new? Ridiculousness on top of more ridiculousness… please give me an opportunity to survey the “UN-service” forced upon me as “help”… seriously… what a cop out. I suppose it is expected in today’s economy, but realistically everyone is still accountable for their own actions. I feel cheated, stolen from, and victimized by false advertising… thank you IBOTTA…

App is now just Okay. Apps like these are great, if they offer money saving/or points on items you actually buy and use on a regular basis. When I have the time to go through the vast amount of products, I find that I actually only need/want a few (usually 1) and the odds that the selected store has it in stock is pretty much slim to none. It would be nice if this app allows for receipts to read from email 100% of the time. I have connected the correct email account, the correct product and still nothing. If you have a bunch of time and want very little reward for the planning, this app is for you. When this first came out, it was the best and I only used this one unfortunately now I don’t waste the very little time I have check marking each individual item in hopes I need/find it at the store. To developers: please update app with more relevant/everyday used items and easier email receipt capture. In this time we live in most things are digital and I, like many utilize the stores curb-side pickup or the Digital Pay at checkout but most of the digital receipts are not accepted by this app. That’s a shame, you had a GREAT thing going and I would like to use it again even if it were to be change to a paid app.

Loyalty Card Not Linked For Months. I used to really enjoy using ibotta for little bits of cash back I received from weekly grocery store shopping. When ibotta offered me to link my grocery loyalty card instead up uploading every single receipt, it made things so easy! From that point on, I stopped saving my receipts, and would see cash back in my ibotta account in less than 24 hours after leaving the store. Well, today I logged into ibotta to get some cash back from clothing shopping online for the first time. I noticed that my account balance was quite low for where it should be after grocery shopping a minimum of 3 times per week. I clicked on my grocery store (Ralph’s) to see that loyalty cards are having issues and mine has not been linked to my account since the END OF AUGUST. For 3.5 months, I’ve missed out on ALL of my grocery cash back. No message sent to me from ibotta so I could save receipts for uploading again. At this point, after I upload a couple receipts to reach the $20 payout threshold, I will be done with the app for grocery purchases. Waste of time and I find I get more cash back using the Ralph’s grocery app directly. Update: Because I was inactive for some time, ibotta took all of my earnings away from me. Just over $17 STOLEN. I put in the work to earn those rewards and earn ibotta money through their partnerships and they stole my cut. Shame on you for being thieves.

Such an easy way to earn money. I have used Ibotta for over a year now and it’s become part of my life basically I’ll tell you why; every time I make a trip to the grocery store for whatever reason I either check Ibotta before hand while making my list, or when there is something specific I need I will usually check to see if I can get money back on it before I make my decision on that specific item. If the item I have on my list is on Ibotta but to qualify for that cash back I will need to buy multiple, I will usually opt for the deal where I get money back. The reason I do so is because overtime it all adds up and that cash is great for date nights or just money to have saved back. I’ll be honest I was a little skeptical at first on how you really get that cash back and actually it’s really easy you pick where you would like the money to go basically like a gift card, they send you an email super quick with your gift card number, and usually a barcode so that you can use it off of your phone or print it out. I’ve never had any issues using my cashback at a store or restaurant. I love that they have so many options to choose from! Super easy way to earn money, definitely give it a try.

Love it!!. I love this app. They have a lot of offers I like. I have been using years now & earned a bunch!! I don’t always use the products they offer but it gives me a chance to try something new and get cash back. I wish my Walmart had all the brands and items IBOTTA offers but they usually don’t have half of the items I want. I have earned hundreds of dollars from this app and anything over $20 you can cash out whatever amount you want , whenever you want and they don’t charge you for transferring to you bank or card. The only downside to this app is the items you get regularly or more than once, will go down in the cash back. Starts off higher and the more you get it the less you will earn. I wish they didn’t do that because there is so many products I can’t get because none of the stores carry it in my area anyway. So I do miss out on a lot that I want but can’t get cash back on since the product is not in the store that has the cash back. I have found some things in different stores but can’t get cash back because the store that actually has the product is not offering that item or IBOTTA doesn’t have the store on their site. Small town problems, I guess

Used to be great, now, it’s a waste.. I used to love Ibotta. I would recommend it to friends all the time, even people who were asking me why I was scanning items with my phone as I shopped. Those days are gone. Offers are often not worth the effort of finding the nitpickily specific type and size of the featured product, and if you do find the right version at a store, the offer won’t be valid for that store, so you’re back to square one. Pay With Ibotta (PWI) used to be a great addition, but now is pointless because it doesn’t work. I have tried using it several times to no avail. The app will display a message saying it can’t connect with a button to “retry”, just to continue showing the same error. Today, an offer appeared via a notification for Dominos Pizza using PWI. I decided to use it today, and of course, Ibotta displayed the same error message as before. Updated my app, and the same thing happened. Ibotta is unreliable, and seems to be falling seriously behind in their attempts to maintain an app that functions properly and is user friendly. They’ve already removed Venmo as a payout option, and continue to reduce availability and value by minimizing/eliminating rebates (especially with PWI), making it pointless to bother even attempting to use the app on a regular basis. I’m a user who’s saved $700 since I started using Ibotta in summer 2014, with 2020 being my lowest-ranking year since all their changes ruined the app for me.

Declining Service. This was one of my favorite apps. Easy to use and earn a little extra money. I recommended to everyone. However, NOW it is completely frustrating and no longer that great. I have had multiple experiences where I make a mobile shopping purchase, then never receive credit. I send the info to the Support team (which now the response time is 3-5 weeks), in which they tell me “you didn’t launch through the app, so we are unable to credit your account at this time.” Even though I SPECIFICALLY launched through the app because of the constant issues. No matter what evidence I produce (screenshots, receipt details, etc. ) they just dismiss it and say “we hope you continue to use the app, but there is nothing more we can do at this time.” It is annoying and frustrating and basically makes the whole point of using the app a waste of time when you don’t receive the credit. Another thing that just makes me more disappointed in ibotta is that I see WAY more advertisements for ibotta, but the Customer service quality and response time has taken a major decline in the last year. I think Ibotta should put more resources into making their Support team efficient and effective, and less into their marketing. Word of mouth is the most effective advertising anyways, which in this case is not going in their favor. I have stopped referring people. Definitely disappointed.

Stole my money so I'm done. Update: I am 100% deleting this app and unsubscribing from all emails. I used Ibotta several times recently to buy online from Ulta and the transactions have never shown up in my account. Then because of my "disuse" they have removed $3.99 x2 from my account for "maintenance fees". I even used their horribly designed customer service to open tickets after the first time they charged me $3.99 for "not using" their app enough. They did return one $3.99 fee as a "one time courtesy" while ignoring the fact that none of my transactions were showing up under my account. I sent screenshots with my order numbers, amounts, and everything. Now they've taken another $3.99 from my account and those 4-5 Ulta transactions have never shown up in my account. I should have used Rakuten for all those Ulta transactions instead. When this app works I think it's great. I've earned a fair amount of money with it over the past couple years, but the latest version is really glitchy. I have a receipt that I need to submit by tomorrow bc it's from several days ago and there are a bunch of items that qualify for cash back. Anyway, every time I try to take pictures of the receipt, the app crashes!! The app kept telling me that there was a new version so I should update, but when I checked I already have the most up to date version. Super annoying! I'm going to contact customer service so hopefully I can get my cash back before they tell me it's too late...

A lot of false advertising. I gave it 3 stars because I only receive the cash back for my purchases about 3 out 5 times. This app used to be really great. But now they are really, really bad for falsely advertising cash back on items just to get you to purchase them. Many, many...many times now I have purchased the EXACT item shown. I always read the full details of each offer to make sure it doesn’t require you to purchase two, or only a certain size, etc. I will even scan the barcode for a match when I’m in the store! Then I get home, scan my receipt and uh oh...”item doesn’t match”. I check my receipt to make sure the cashier did indeed charge me for the item..yep, it’s there. Hmmmm convenient way for them to cash in on successfully pushing you the product without having to actually pay you the money. This past week they even went as far as to go back and take away the credit that I had earned on an item. I received an email stating that they couldn’t match it even though their app successfully matched it to my receipt! It was indeed the correct item. Don’t even bother with trying to contact their care team because you just get the generic “oh we’re sorry but you probably didn't purchase the correct item...please review details of all items before purchasing in the future” type of response...much like their responses to most of these reviews 😒. I hope they do better in the future.

Give it a shot, u have nothing to lose for trying it!!!. I love Ibotta!! I never imagined how much money i would end up saving when I started a year ago. But I’ve saved $821 to date and I’ve only been using it for 1yr and 3 weeks. It’s unbelievable. And I had to take a couple months off from using it because of being to busy at work to do my own shopping. I started out only buying what I went to buy and would only get rebates for those items. But then I noticed one day if I bought a couple of other things that I would qualify for an additional bonus that ended up paying for most of my items. So it was basically like getting all those items for free. Another plus about this app is it has gotten me to try some new things, because the rebates were just too good to pass up, that I can’t live without today. So not only has this app saved me money, it’s helped make my life so much easier because of the products it has brought in my life. I, my children and even my husband thanks you Ibotta. Without you introducing us to a certain laundry product, that saved the day, my husband would’ve ruined an entire load of my daughters’ school uniforms when he accidentally threw a new red shirt in with the khaki pants.

Disable Withdrawal. I used Ibotta some years back and loved and decided to give it a try again now in 2022 and not loving it so much no more I decided to refer some of my friends that were complaining about the fetch app they liked the idea of Ibotta and decided to give it a try also Ibotta offers $10 for referrals and 5 of my friends signed up so between them and my earnings I got back from shopping I had enough to withdrawal so I decide to withdraw $20 of it for a gift card from Walmart for my daughter and got a error message so I tried to withdrawal to my PayPal and bank account and got a (We've temporarily disabled withdrawals to keep your earnings safe. For next steps, contact Ibotta Care for help) message I emailed Ibotta 2 days later they responded and said the customer is now responsible for providing proof of their referrals I figured no big deal I still had the messages from the 5 who did so I screenshot them and emailed them to Ibotta and still have not heard from them left them serval emails and nothing I guess they figured I wasn’t going to have to proof and that was their way of getting out of paying out but now that I sent the proof they basically ghosted me my advice would to be to cash out as soon as you hit the $20 minimum they barely give you much back on what u shop for so it will take some time to accumulate anything based on just shopping the items they choose

2 1/2 Stars. It feels almost ridiculous to speak negatively about a way to save money, but quotes like “time is money” or “wasted time is wasted money means trouble” or “no man can achieve success if he didn’t first know the value of time”, etc., exist because time is valuable. It’s one thing that can never, ever be gotten back. If this app was as great and simple as it comes across, than the time spent would easily be worth it. Select in-store that I’m going to, select/add to list the products/ savings, shop, upload receipt, done. HA HA HA...NOT! Savings selected prior to shopping disappear when receipt uploaded within hours. Too many products are not offered at the store it was advertised with, so while your list may show a nice amount of savings, good luck saving what you expect to. Then savings don’t get added even when receipt is uploaded and directions are followed, and more time has to be spent figuring out why. Ibotta basically answers your question with a question, that is after it emails you a number of articles you can read to figure it out yourself. This is a beneficial app for those accepting their time being valued at approx $0.25 - $1.00 per hour. For some, they’ll realize the time could be spent with family, pets, friends, volunteer opportunities, etc.

SCAM: Scammed out of referral credit. I used to like Ibotta. I used it for months. Then I referred my mom during a $5 credit period. It was the last day, and she made a special trip to pick something up, went out of her way to get me that credit. She had trouble using the app and accessing her account, so I had to help her. Went through the trouble of scanning and waiting. My account showed verification that she joined and then successfully redeemed an offer. No credit. We both contacted support, and they claim that her “mobile device was registered under another user” and they therefore refused to give the credit or discuss it any further because it “involved another user”. My mother has never even heard of Ibotta before I asked her to join so I could get the credit. Before I was scammed out of my credit, I used Ibotta every week. I immediately cashed out my tiny amount and deleted the app. She deleted the app and warned everyone at work. I warned everyone I know, and I have even talked a few people out of signing up and going with Ebates instead. My best friend loves deal and price apps, and she’s warned her friends and family away as well. Had “Sara K” shown that Ibotta cares about their customers and honored the $5 credit, I would still be using it, and so would several other people. It just take one small gesture to show customers that you value them and they spread the word, but unfortunately, Ibotta doesn’t value their customers.

Became a hassle to use.. I have used this app for a few years and loved it up until a couple of months ago. Lately I have had nothing but issues with missing credits. It seems like every time I make a purchase at target, I have to contact the Ibotta care team and wait a whole week for a response. You have to link your target account to Ibotta which will not allow you to take a picture of the receipt and then scan the items to receive the credit. I know it’s supposed to be more convenient that way but credits always end up missing and it’s a never ending cycle. I make a purchase and wait for them to review the receipt and I already know I’ll have credits missing. Then the care team will email me and make me take pictures of the receipt that has the products that I have missed credits for when I could’ve just done that in the first place. It’s redundant and unnecessary because they can view what I purchased that’s how I got some credits in the first place but instead they make you do the work. I never had this issue before but this has been happening every time I use the app for the past few months and I’m almost to the point of deleting the app and just not using it anymore. I have almost $700 earned and it’s a shame because this app does help out but lately it’s just not worth the hassle.

The app is terrible. I have been using Ibotta for years. All of a sudden my perk card account numbers have been removed, and I can’t add them back. Ibotta keeps telling me they are incorrect! So I upload my receipts manually. Every single time. No exaggeration every single time I upload a receipt within 2 to 3 days of my purchases. They tell me that my purchases are over seven days long. So now I have to waste my time and contact customer care to submit my receipts that I have uploaded along with the barcode pictures to prove my purchases that I have already done by uploading the receipts. For them to credit my account. Today I upload my receipt the same day to get a rebate and they are now saying that they can’t verify The purchase I’m requesting! So now I have to waste my time contact customer care with a picture of the receipt circling the item I purchased with the date and the barcode again. This app is just super time consuming and frustrating. I don’t know why my perk card numbers were removed from my account to begin with and why nobody in customer care will help me re-add them so I don’t have to keep doing this. I have requested help many times and I don’t get it.

Neat but.... I’ve been using Ibotta for a while. I’ve learned if you don’t shop at walmart, you’re probably not getting as good of deals/savings. I don’t shop at walmart and I can take advantage of maybe $1.00 rebates a month. My friend who shops at walmart gets almost $10 in rebates per trip. I feel the offers aren’t related to anything I buy or would buy. I occasionally get to use the “any” receipt rebate at different stores. I spend more money finding things to buy that I can get a rebate for then saving. I know manufacturers and some retailers are pushing these rebates to get their brands recognized, but I wish this app catered more to users preference or history - if you’re scanning barcodes, receipts and rewards cards, shouldn’t I see offers related to the things I buy most? Example baby formula: I was offered rebates on formula we don’t use. Our baby has to use a specific type of formula; I’m not going to switch brands/types just to use a coupon. I’ve also experienced a lot of glitches/crashes over time, especially when I have scan bar codes. I try to scan and put away my food...the app crashes and I have to get everything back out to scan. 😠 I’ll keep using occasionally, but I hope to see better algorithms and customization in the future.

Not as good as it used to be. I was recommended this app a few years ago and it used to be great. They actually had items I would buy or wanted to try. Now..... I’m lucky if I can use it once every shopping trip (I used to be able to use it every time). That’s not the bad part because I do like that they have rebates for new products just hitting the market. The bad part is having to link a loyalty card. What!?!? So I started doing that. Well now one of the loyalty cards linked never posts my items and I have had to reach out to the care center and wait forever (3-7 days) to be credited and they don’t even know when you have multiple items for redemption. I had to reach back out and let them know after I already listed three items purchased along with the receipt that I was still missing money. I was credited. Fine! It’s getting worse because the app will scan the receipt for items and not recognize others. I like not having to scan all of the barcodes but I don’t mind it if I have to. I have two items pending now because the receipt was rejected and these two items weren’t recognized during the initial receipt scan. Now the receipt has been rejected for those two items I don’t want to have to wait for the care team AGAIN. I’m at the point where all of the hassle isn’t worth it and I will just complete the last $3.00 needed to cash out and delete the app. I’m not wasting my time anymore.

Listed but not redeemable? Confused.. I do not understand why Food Lion offers are not available to redeem. I added Food Lion offers to my list before shopping at my Food Lion. After purchasing items I go to “Redeem” and Food lion is not listed although I had the option to add offers from said grocery retailer before shopping. I checked the “fine print” or “details” for the quantity, variety and size of the product needed to redeem said offers before I added to my list and purchased. I selected the option “Any Grocery Store” to scan my receipt as Food Lion was not a listed option and still the app found no offers. With all that being said I just need a clear understanding of why this is. I have many colleagues asking for a great money saving app for groceries and other retailers so, I want to be sure they and myself will be able to use the app properly and be able to redeem our offers especially if the retailer is listed before purchasing. I hope I can get a clear understanding or get answers otherwise I will try a different app and also recommend other apps to those looking.

Doesn’t work that well anymore and very time consuming. When using Ibotta in the past, I was able to scan receipts to add my credits. Now, for most grocery stores, we are supposed to use our grocery store credentials at checkout and Ibotta is supposed to “automatically” add the credits for us (yes my grocery accounts are linked on Ibotta). I have never received any credits from food lion when checking out with credentials, and Publix is now another chain where I’m never automatically receiving credits when using account info at checkout. When I recently requested my unreceived credits from Publix through the customer service option online, they denied me my credits because they claimed my submitted receipt was invalid. They also told me to link my accounts before checking out....they are clearly linked. There has to be a way for them to check this because I wouldn’t have waited for credits for over 24 hours and written into customer service if this were the case. Not to mention, I have to write into customer service every single time I want credits from retailers like publix or food lion because Ibotta NEVER automatically adds credits like they claim to. Ibotta doesn’t seem to be working properly anymore and the customer service portion seems to be going downhill as well. Please fix this frustrating issue and let us add our own receipts after each visit, as this seemed to be the only way to properly receive any credits.

God help any user who ever has an issue.... ...& unfortunately at some point, most will. This platform is incompetent at paying when it should & even more incompetent at employing support reps who are willing to do anything besides copy & paste a paragraph from the FAQ’s based upon whatever keyword they deem relevant from your subject line. They don’t bother to read your message much less attempt to understand the issue & it takes cycling thru a dozen or so reps before you might get lucky enough to catch one of the few who will actually try to help. And then, their shift ends & you go right back to the queue of morons. My last issue was supported with screenshots that should’ve easily explained my case all by themselves... Yet I still had to submit a help ticket for all 5 of the unpaid receipts separately then re-copy my explanation of the issue a total of 13 times before getting someone who finally took the time to read, investigate & see that I was compensated. Currently, just slightly over 48hrs after requesting help with another issue of nonpayment, I’m on the 6th rep & 22nd email of repeating myself with exactly the same results. Officially over it...deleting my account as soon as I finish writing this & seeing to it that my referral does the same. ***For anyone seeking an alternative that actually performs as it should & has STELLAR customer service...download FETCH!!!***

Update makes it hard to redeem offers. I really loved saving with Ibotta but since the update the link between Walmart and Ibotta is really crappy. The last three purchases I have had to request the money for the offers and I have not been able to receive all the bonuses that I should have received because the credits they do give me are just that, credits toward my account not credits towards the amount of offers needed so it will not accurately show I made the amount of offers needed to receive the bonuses. Also since the update my Walmart app will not let me check in for pickup because it doesn’t even show I bought something. It doesn’t show up in my purchase history without going through Ibotta’s app unlike before the update I could see all purchases even straight through my Walmart app but now even doing that it doesn’t give me the option of “checking in” through the pickup at Walmart so I have to drive there and then let them know I am there. It takes way too much time messing with trying to figure out what is wrong with the app. I really hope this can all be fixed soon because I like saving money but I don’t like all the wasted time trying to save that money!!!

Refused to give me my money. No customer service!. I used to love this app and had it for years. Recently they changed it to that if you wanted your money you had to literally email them (I had another old account that I didn’t remember). I emailed them 3 times over 3 months. Not one reply. I finally got my money but how old school is it you actually have to email an app? Also, if you click too fast to redeem coupons, it’s freezes and you have to come back an hour later. I click my coupons in the car right before I walk in. Because of this, I now never submit receipts bc it takes hours to actually get a coupon. I’m not getting that much back that waiting is worth my time. Another annoyance is that on some shops, like Lowe’s for example, you upload your receipt but then you have to physically go through all the coups that store has and claim them. So why am I bothering uploading my receipt? I’m not an employee. I don’t work for Ibotta. They are supposed to work for me! Going back to my first complaint, I looked back to find my old account Babi got a new phone and had $5 on it and figured since my newer account is at zero I’ll just start using my older/first account to get up to $20. GONE. Don’t bother wasting your time with this app. You’ll just end up having receipts everywhere and then expired bc their server couldn’t keep up. 🙄

This app is a joke now. My friend recommended this app two years ago and I’ve been able to over $250. It’s been pretty great, BUT: Since June to Oct 2019, the offers available have been for the same products that my family has no interest in buying. There have also been a few times where an offer was redeemed with a receipt, but never properly credited and when I contact the Ibotta Care team with the break down of everything, they still didn’t validate my receipt with the correct products, thus ended up not receiving a credit for the item, why have offers if people can’t redeem when they legitimately purchase the exact product. I also don’t believe when they say they don’t have the barcode in their system, because the barcode works while in the store shopping but once you’re redeeming a receipt, it suddenly doesn’t work for the exact same item that was scanned while shopping. At one point I had my target card linked but it kept missing valid offers and I would have to end up uploading my receipts - since I unlinked that loyalty card, I just stick to uploading receipts. Can’t wait until I can cash out my earning and delete this app. Would probably use this app again, if it actually had products worth redeeming.

Sadly this doesn’t work like they tell you here it does!. I was using the app as it seemed a great way to save and earn while doing it. I shopped, I took pictures of my receipts and sent them to them all very easily. Ran into trouble however when I tried to redeem for a gift card as you do it get cash back....... or at least I couldn’t find where I had that option. I purchased my gift cards with my points and watched as my points were taken away. I at no time actually received any gift card. They never tell you if they are mailing it to you, emailing it to you, texting it to you..... nothing. I waited a couple weeks to see what would happen. Nothing! I sent their customer service online a message that they never responded to on two different occasions. So I stopped using the app waiting to see what would happen. I finally received an email wanting me to come back as they noticed I’d stopped using the app. I sent another email explaining why and asked what they were going to do to make this right..... again no response. So I believe there are retailers receiving the feedback as to what we are and aren’t purchasing but there seems to be no benefit to the consumer. I’ve basically told them when they respond to my questions and give me the gift cards that my points were taken to purchase that I would consider using they app again. No response. Makes me think nobody is listening at all. Can’t see a reason to use the app.

I’m just so annoyed.. I loved this app. It was a great way to earn a little more cash. However, I had gotten a new phone a few months ago and when you do, you are logged out of all your apps. I ended up being logged out of iBotta, so I went to log back in. However, when I tried to do so it told me the email was wrong. I tried every single email and password combination possible and it still told me there were no accounts linked to any of them. I tried logging in with the other options, but nothing. I emailed the customer service, didn’t hear back from them for maybe two and half weeks, and all they did was ask for the email linked to my account. I sent them the two emails that could’ve been it and didn’t hear back from them for another two to three weeks. When they got back to me, their response was “these emails don’t match any account in our system. We need the email attached to your account.” SO CLEARLY they really didn’t even understand what I was explaining to them. I had about $27 saved up and I don’t get to use it now because their customer service is so terrible and won’t try to understand my problem. So now I’m out $27 for something that doesn’t even make sense. I had to have used an email to sign up the first time around, but it’s telling me I’m wrong. It’s so annoying.

Terrible customer service. This app used to be great, but rarely works correctly anymore and the customer service is terrible. You follow the offer exactly and still cannot seem to get your credit and customer service is no help. It takes days for them to respond and when they do it’s absolutely no help and solves nothing. I currently have a $50+ pending credit since June(over 6 months ago) for a hotel stay. Originally customer service tried to blame it on me that everything wasn’t done correctly and they didn’t seem to have any of the information on the stay even though the pending credit is right there in my account. I had to provide a bunch of information from a hotel stay that was months ago, even though it was information they should have had. After providing all this, they changed there story and blamed it on the vendor not crediting them. I don’t care about this though as I made the deal with them. If their vendor is not paying them that’s their problem and has nothing to do with honoring their offer with me. I still have this case open today, over a month after I first contacted them about it. The last response from them was over a week ago saying they are experiencing a large amount of customer service messages and not to worry they didn’t forget about my case. Not shocking they have a lot of issues to deal with from my experience. This app seems great in theory, but is more of a hassle than it is worth.

Not a honest account. I have had problems with this app since I downloaded it first they wouldn’t give the money I was supposed to get, than I got locked out of my account and they wouldn’t hep me get back into my account so I registered for other account and the same thing happened over there on that account reached out for them to help and all they would say is it looks like you have multiple accounts, so they finally deactivated one of the accounts and I kept the one I got locked out of after they finally help me get back into it. All for them to still not give me my money for the stuff I bought, ask for help again from them, and again I got told you have multiple accounts open come to find out they had been depositing my money in the “account they supposedly deactivated “ and the way I found about that was I kept getting emails stating you got cash back and it was in the email of the one they deactivated, so now their assistant want response to my emails that I sent asking them for my rewards that I was owed which is like almost $25 dollars, so just be aware when downloading this app cause they want always give you your money.

Ok when it reads the receipt. This app is very frustrating at times. I have made it to $20 once and got an old navy gift card which was great. The time frames for the bonus offers are very short and I am never able to reach the goals. I have one store in particular where Im able to choose and add offers and then When I go to redeem my receipt the store is not an option to choose from. So I wasted my time choosing offers that I can redeem. If want to upload a grocery receipt do it right away!! Im a busy working mom and most of the time time I can’t redeem my offers right away. Also half of the time when I try to open up the app it takes forever to load/open up causing me to leave it and come back to it later. So, I gather all my receipt and redeem them at once. Huge risk of missing out on your offers if you wait. I scan my receipt and the app doesn’t recognize/read the items on the receipt and find the applicable offer. So I manually select the offers and then it asks me to scan the freakin bar codes 😠 of the items. WHY WHHHYYY! It’s on my receipt, which I just took a pic of. ITS ON THE RECEIPT Uuhhhhh! Its prob been a few days and I don’t have that item anymore (eaten by my kids or hubby) so I don’t have the packaging to scan the barcode. Am I supposed to just keep all the packaging around until I redeem the offer, yeah that’s practical. It’s so frustrating I’m going to try a diff app maybe Ratuken.

Used to be easy-to-use. I’ve used Ibotta since 2014. Over time, the app has become increasingly more cumbersome. It’s now getting to the breaking point. Until today, likely the most annoying issue was the finicky barcode scanner. I generally must tap the button multiple times in order to bring up the camera. Also, now the green “verified” pop up is so small and quickly vanishes that you sometimes don’t know for sure if the item qualifies. There are many others; however, today I was introduced to the awful filter system, versus the system of scrolling. There is no way I am tolerating this nonsense. It took some time, but I had gotten used to the recent method, which had been a nuisance because less of the screen was dedicated to the offers themselves (it took much longer to browse). However, this filter is absolute garbage. You now have to manually filter by category, but if you want to look at multiple categories without returning to the filter screen, then you must scroll the the entire current category before reaching the next one. Often, you are looking for one or two specific items, and then you want to move on to other categories; this is now very inconvenient to do. I am likely done with this app if this continues. There are several other issues that have arisen over the last couple years that have been frustrating.

An amazing app. Edited: whatever was going on with this app seems to have been straightened out! It has been working consistently for a few months now! Thank you thank you!! I love this app and am excited to be able to rely on it again! I have used this app for YEARS! It has been my very favorite rebate app! It is the only one I use anymore but that may be changing. I’ve heard great things about fetch and I think this might be the end of the road with Ibotta sadly. It used to be easy and trustworthy, now when I submit my rebates I always ALWAYS make sure to go back and make sure I got the right credit because 9 out of 10 times I won’t. The rebates match up, it reads the correct credit upon submission but when the money credit actually goes into my account it’s not the right amount anymore. Then you have the fun experience of going back and forth with customer service to get your credit.. sometimes they just give it to you and sometimes you have to send them pictures and bar codes ALL OVER AGAIN. It’s incredibly frustrating and time consuming. If this happened once in a while I wouldn’t care, that’s life. But like I said, it’s nearly every single time. To the point where if it actually does go through correctly I cheer haha. I love Ibotta and I want to stay with them, please fix whatever you changed and go back to whatever worked before.

Good with an Asterisk. I have earned quite a bit of cash back for items I purchase and have tried some new items and brands as a result of offers. The downsides are that linking your loyalty rewards card is supposed to make the process simpler, but it becomes WAY more of a hassle because it never detects all of the items I purchased. I always make sure I have the offers added before I shop, but somehow things are always missed, or multiple quantities are not registered. Reaching out to their customer service is a huge pain. The response is slow, sometimes you would have qualified for bonuses if the offers were recorded the day of your purchase, but if you don’t add the bonus into your customer service request, they won’t check for them. They also sometimes ask for pictures of receipt, items, and barcodes after not responding for a week (which means your food might already have been consumed) so take pictures immediately and hold onto them in case you need them as backup to your request. It’s honestly just easier to upload the receipts yourself instead of linking your loyalty card. In any case, these companies are collecting LOADS of valuable consumer data, the least they can do is make it simple to compensate you for your willingness to participate in that. So it’s incredibly frustrating when the consumer is the one having to jump through hoops for $0.50.

Great concept, needs improvement though. I honestly do love this app and if you are very attentive to what you buy and scan the receipts without using the barcode from your store rewards card then Ibotta is wonderful and you can make some good extra spending money...BUT....I have learned the hard way that when you purchase any of the items you almost always have to “prove” you bought it by adding the items after you scan or take a picture of the receipt. For example, on a recent trip to Walmart, I purchased 11 different products that I would receive extra money for. I scanned my barcode on the receipt and Ibotta only recognized that I had the $0.10 “any grocery item”. I had to go back through the extensive list to check off all the other items then scan the barcode of the item. Fairly annoying once you have put all your groceries up. Another issue I’ve discover is a store reward card that you can link to your account such as Winn Dixie or Publix...take my advice and don’t bother, submit your receipt instead so you can catch what Ibotta doesn’t because you can’t tell if they did right away and it’s just faster. As it is I spend a significant amount of time scrolling through everything...ain’t nobody got time for that!

One of the worst app for cash back offers. I recently used Ibotta to save money on my purchases at Walmart, and I must say I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The primary reason I signed up for Ibotta was to take advantage of their cash back offers, but I encountered a significant issue. Upon making my purchase at Walmart and subsequently scanning my receipt, I did not receive the cash back amount promised by Ibotta. This inconsistency between the advertised and actual cash back offers left me feeling misled and frustrated. I reached out to Ibotta’s customer support to address this issue, but the response I received was slow and unhelpful. It seems they are not genuinely committed to resolving customer concerns promptly. Furthermore, Ibotta’s app can be quite confusing to navigate, making it difficult to find accurate information about their cash back offers and how they work. This lack of transparency only adds to the frustration of using their service. In conclusion, my experience with Ibotta has been marked by inaccurate cash back offers, unresponsive customer support, and a confusing app interface. I had high hopes for this service, but unfortunately, it has not lived up to its promises. I would caution others considering Ibotta to be cautious and thoroughly research their cash back offers before relying on them for savings at Walmart or any other retailer.

Going bad. I used to love this app, but it’s progressively getting worse. A few weeks ago, Ibotta started spamming my email account. I checked my settings and they’re not supposed to send me any emails. Over the course of more than 2 weeks, support repeatedly told me to check my settings, no matter how many times I said my settings were correct. They lied and said they reset my settings so I wouldn’t get anymore emails. Finally, one snarky lady told me that users are no longer have full control of what emails Ibotta sends them. Users may no longer opt out of cash earned emails. I can check that for myself in the app. Overall, the support staff were slow, unhelpful, and did not READ what the problem was or what was done. How can you fix a problem when you don’t pay attention to the issue or symptoms? They wasted a lot of my time for nothing and I’m really not happy they’re now spamming my email because they can. Over the last several months, bonuses have become a lot more difficult to meet without buying something I don’t need or want. I’ve also noticed a marked decline in the offers I’ve been able to redeem. And they know when you get close to $25, because they’ll really limit the any brand and any receipt offers. They’ve been knocking any brand, especially the receipt offers to $0.10 A LOT. I’ve been thinking about cashing out and going with another app.

Offers disappear within minutes. It feels a little like bait and switch here. You open ibotta, you see a bunch of great offers, you save/clip them to your account and then you head to the store. But many times between the time you saved the offer and the time you got to the store, the offer is gone from the app entirely. I’ve had this happen at least 7 times just in this last week. I literally had a friend tell me about a deal she had just got with ibotta while she was still at the store. I found the offer in my app, saved it to my account, and by the time I got my shoes on, the offer was gone from the app. The offers need expiration dates the way coupons do. That way, users can count on them. But what I think the ibotta people don’t get is that most of us budget and plan our grocery trips before we head out the door. I’m not willing to roll the dice with purchases, only to get home, scan a receipt and find the offer suddenly disappeared within the hour. Then I’m stuck paying full price for everything. It feels very sleazy and dishonest to randomly pull offers off the app at any day or time. I used to love this app. I knew I could count on it. And offers didn’t randomly disappear, and actually would say how many days you had left to use them (some offers still show this). But currently this app has become impractical and wasteful. It’s a grocery gambling game at best.

Used to be great...now not so much. I have been using Ibotta for about two years now and it used to great! But lately I’m rarely ever able To redeem any offers. It went from always having gain or tide(the two primary detergent brands I use) being up here quite frequently to almost never. Also, it’s stupid that certain stores the offers are not valid at(i.e. offers at Walmart are not at Target or vice versa.). I haven’t even been able to reach the 20$ minimum for cash out in MONTHS. App has also been giving issues with loading while I’m shopping so I can’t even check product barcode to be sure it’s a match. Don’t really understand why if I’m constantly purchasing certain items they would be removed from redeemable offers for what seems like permanently. I can get you want to try to persuade users to continue to use the app but if I don’t normally buy a product I’m not going to just because it’s in Ibotta. That goes for the bonuses as well. A few of the people on my “team” and I notice some of us will have to redeem less or more items then one another to qualify for a bonus. Again, I can get it if some of us are using the app more often then others but it’s still pretty stupid. For me, I was using it pretty frequently, in order to qualify for some bonuses I needed to purchase 30+ items in an unrealistic amount of time. Very disappointed with the app at this point. Don’t really know if I will continue to TRY and utilize it at all as there is really no point anymore.

Amazing App. Okay, I suppose its possible to not like this app but, only if your lazy or just always in a hurry. I read on one of the reviews that someone commented that the app does not tell you when the rebates expire however, that is completely false. You do have to scroll down a bit to see exactly when it expires it not only gives you the exact day but it gives you a time as well. You certainly won't get rich off of this app but if you save your dollars it is certainly suite at Christmas time. I try to think of the rebates as I would a change jar sometimes I drop in a couple of dollars and sometimes it's a couple of quarters and over time it builds up. I actually had the app for an entire year almost before I ever used it because I was not that familiar with it. In any case, it's worth the extra 10 minutes or so with each grocery trip. I have found that looking at the app before I go to the store, activating the rebates prior to going and making a list makes the app much easier and saves time overall. I guess it's like the old saying, "You can take a horse to water but, you can't make him drink" applies to the nay sayers. I've earned $462 in the last 18 months on stuff I buy anyway so, I'd call that a win!

IF I Could PUT NO STARS I WOULD!. I like many of these customers liked it in the beginning , then the repeat products I purchased hardly ever came back up to earn my cash back. I have like several on here told many people about Ibotta as I work in a big retail place and every customer that asked me for coupons for us , I told them about Ibotta! Do you know how many people I promoted for you and I just got charged $3.99 because of inactivity to my Ibotta account!? To make it even worse during the covid -19 as I am just ordering online and have been furloughed from my job? So staying at home and ordering is not the same deals also that I got going into the store! So another reason other than you not putting anything I repeatingly purchased on the Ibotta app after I did at the time get a couple bucks back here and there for my few items that qualified! I will tell those I referred to you once I get back to work especially, my regular customer what Ibotta does , that You charged my account without notice and I will take this to the BBB and attorney general ! I received NONE, not one notice that I was going to be charged ! ? I will be calling my bank and Paypal to put a block on this transaction and I want no more to do with Ibotta ! How do I close out my account with You Ibotta?

Worst customer service only. I have used this APP for years. In the beginning it worked like a charm. The past year has been nothing but a headache. When submitting for my local grocery store it NEVER recognizes any thing other than Any Receipt. I have to manually add than wait for almost a week to see the credit. I have to submit pictures of the products and the receipt as proof. Too much of a headache. They took money back and deactivated a bonus over a month later as they said I never purchased the item. Unfortunately, because I threw away the receipt after the credit came through I could no longer dispute. They than accused me of sending through for items I did not purchase. If I did not purchase than how did Walmart read my receipt and give me credit? Customer Service was rude and accusatory. Worst APP ever. If the APP worked than customer service would not be inundated with inquires and it would not take weeks to get credit. I will be using Rakuten for all online or in store purchases. That APP actually works!

Longtime user here verifying app is legit. I’ve seen people posting on different platforms asking if this is real or a scam. It’s definitely NOT A SCAM!! I’ve been using the app for some years now and so far earned almost $400 in cash. I love the app but I just wish there were more items to select that I use on a regular basis. However, I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of recent changes they made I’m not happy with. They now will only let you redeem Publix through a loyalty account which takes up to 48 hours to show up in the app. So on top of making sure you always remember to type in your phone number at checkout (and make sure you type the right number as I have mistakenly used my old number before) but you also have to go back and make sure they gave you credit for everything you bought. So far I’ve had to submit claims on missing items 3 times and it’s only been a week. It’s a hassle to say the least. So make sure you stay on top of it and choose items before you shop so that you get credit for them. I choose some even if it’s a maybe just in case.

APP NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SOME STORES. Sorry this is so lengthy..... I’ve used this app a number of times. The premise is great but on multiple occasions when checking out, it somehow freezes up their registers and will not allow the store to receive their money! This happened twice at Lowe’s and once at Cabellas. My bank account immediately shows the withdrawal in full payment but Lowe’s in particular could not get the app to pay them. Cabellas ended up selling me a gift card then turned around and cashed in the gift card so as to get their money. I of course lost my Ibotta cash back from $161, $78 and $180 sales. Also, during one of these incidents the Lowe’s cashier messed up entering the info, gave me the phone back to re-enter it but when we finalized the transaction I didn’t notice the vendor had changed inadvertently so the sale went to Chipotles instead. I had to PAY AGAIN for my Lowe’s sale so now I have to drive over an hour to the nearest Chipotle to redeem that “gift card” since Ibotta wud not cancel the charge. And I can’t stand Chipotle so I have a $72 credit over there. There should be an “Are you Sure?” type of button u have to click on if this app doesn’t allow u to cancel a transaction. This app needs a few more bug fixes PLEASE. The hubby refuses to let me use it now.

Great before, now going downhill. I gave this app 2 stars out of 5 because they were really great at giving the cashback credit before they started obtaining too many users. About two weeks ago, they had two bonuses you could get by purchasing 18 items and/or 26 items. I planned my shopping trip around the eligible items. Got home and scanned everything only to have ibotta lock my account after they owed me almost $90 back. It took almost two weeks for them to respond to my question as to why I could not withdraw my earnings. Then for a slap in the face, they took back $22 saying I scanned receipts more than once!! They are just awful. I only bought 1 of each eligible item and scanned all my receipts on the same day. Once you redeem something in ibotta, it disappears from your gallery for that day so there is no way I could have scanned any receipts that same day more than once on each item!!!! Ibotta will have you buy items to reach a bonus but will only take the money back from you if you reach the bonus for additional money. I guess they never intended on having to pay out the bonus money and that makes them liars. If you are a big shopper, use coupons, not ibotta. At least with coupons you won’t have to worry about the store taking it away from you.

This Ibotta App Is WORTHLESS. There has been so many issues with this app it is absolutely ridiculous! when you all first started this app it used to be fun to be able to go into stores and submit receipts and receive cashback, but now every time, not once or twice, but every time I submit a receipt to get a rebate and cashback there is an error saying that I need to submit my receipt for review but once I submit my receipt I throw it away thinking everything is good and then customer support is trash to get a different rep responding via email which is the only way you guys are able to communicate so one representative doesn’t know what the previous conversation was and it makes it very frustrating and difficult to get credit for well earned and deserved cashback rewards! I have been dealing with this latest issue of a two dollar credit for receiving text messaging from you all no purchase necessary and now you are telling me that I have to make two purchases in Order to receive the two dollars but when I signed up via text messaging, the message from you all says no purchase necessary! this app is trash! I do not recommend! I’ve already deleted it! From the looks of all of the other reviews I am not the only one having the same exact issues!

Loved this app but it has stopped letting me cash out. Loved this app when it worked. This past Christmas I was ready to cash some of the money out for one of your gift cards and I never was able to. I had always used the money I saved for mostly Christmas and to help with getting clothes for my son for school. I still use the app some because shopping for pickup and delivery is easier than some stores websites or apps. I started having problems when I had to change cell phone service provider to get the hotspot for son’s schooling. I did go to Ibotta and change phone number and even provided banking information. Customer service never responded to my request to change information or did my bank account work. I thought that maybe the bank account didn’t work because it was not on Ibottas list so I tried for a Walmart card. Money looked like it was going to transfer but no email with gift card. The money that I was transferring to gift card did return on Ibotta account page so looks like it was not lost.

Didn’t get my rebates, and poor customer service. I didn’t receive a rebate for any of my items. When I asked for help they asked me to send them my receipt which is fine, and a list of what coupons I used and how much they were for. Because I waited a few days like the app asks you to some of them had already expired and I couldn’t see them anymore so I gave them the list of what I could and what I thought the other ones were. After I sent that and the receipt they asked me to also send pictures of all the products and their barcodes. That wasn’t possible for some because I either threw out the packaging or it was already gone. I told them this and that I should have to do that much work especially when I should have received the reimbursement days ago and already showed them proof of purchase. After that they refunded me for the coupons I used that hadn’t expired yet. I asked again for the expired ones. They gave me another 10¢ when it should have been around 10$. I also asked a couple times throughout the process if there was anything they could do to make up for the inconvenience this was for me and they completely ignored that question each time. Also it took almost a full day to hear back from them each time

A money saver. I have been using this app now for a few years, and so far I have cashed in almost $800 in rebates. I'm very pleased to know that I can save money on items which I buy weekly. I will continue to use this app, even though it takes a several moments to load the offers, scan the barcodes and upload the receipt. I'm not a great fan of the brand-specific rebates, since the majority of my shopping is bulk foods, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. I rarely buy processed or boxed food items. I always take advantage of the "any brand" rebates. I find that I will often buy items I wouldn’t normally buy because the rebate is good and I can stack that with the store sale price and/or a manufacturer coupon and get the item at 50-75% off. And if I can combine those savings with a mid-week or weekend warrior bonus, then it’s worth it. But it does take time to do all this calculating to see if it’s actually worth the projected savings. I would say that the settings menu could be a little bit more user-friendly. It took me weeks to realize that I could opt out of alcohol and liquor rebates. I also wish that I could use rebates at stores like $.99 Only and Grocery Outlet.

Customer service stinks. I’ve been using the app for a few years, I used to love it but lately it’s almost more trouble than it’s worth. When you have a problem, don’t hold your breath for customer service to rectify it. For example, just a couple days ago I attempted to submit a receipt for an item that is obviously the correct one. It wouldn’t accept the upc scan so I sent an email to customer service. Their response that I just received was to rescan my receipt (the one that they already have mind you) because many upc’s have been recently added. Huh?! So you’re telling me that the item really wasn’t there when I submitted it the first time but it may be now?! And why am I resubmitting when the receipt when it’s there already and it’s their screw up?! One more issue, there is no reason that I should have to scroll and hunt for items. It’s extremely cluttered with some items listed over and over again. Other similar apps, you just scan your receipt and the app finds the offers. With time being my most valuable resource, I can no longer justify the few cents savings with the amount of wasted time using this app.

Need major fixes. This app is not very friendly like others I have used. I don’t understand why there is not a check all box with the exception of the ones that require you to watch a video. It almost seems like the app wants you to miss things bc it’s very timely to go through and check everything to all the stores i shop at. I also shop often at our local store which I usually can’t get anywhere with this app for. It crashes often and often the screen just freezes until you close and reopen in which you have to start the scanning process again. I don’t like the linking of stores because I use different cards for different purchases. I wish that you could link your email and it scan for receipts there. I’ve let plenty of receipts go past the 7 days bc it’s just too much hassle unless I’m not very busy which is usually never. I’ve also seen that certain receipts will never scan all the way through then once it expires it seems to come back quickly that receipt is out of date. I’ve earned some from this app but it could have been a lot more. I really hope you are working on making this app more friendly to use and work on the screen freezing

Used to be great. I have had this app for a few years and it used to be really great. Lately … not so much. I haven’t been getting all of my cash back for purchases even though I purchase mostly through direct links from their app or through a linked account. Also, randomly a little over $4 just disappeared from my account this week. No rhyme or reason. No explanation. I tried to talk to support about it and they asked me to resubmit my receipts and make sure I didn’t return anything. Not helpful. I didn’t return anything and since I order online directly I wouldn’t even know which receipts to resubmit. If they are going to deduct anything from your account there should be a reason. This isn’t the first time it has happened. I thought the first couple of times it was a fluke but now I’m beginning to think it’s just something that happens. Since you can’t cash out until $20 nothing can be done while you wait to build up to that amount. The more times they take little bits out the longer it takes to be able to cash out. Not sure I would recommend the app in its current state.

Not Very Clear and Transparent on when you get cash back or when you are denied. I’ve been using this app for a while, and sure I have made money… but it’s a lot of effort on my part to actually make it worth it. For in-store shopping, the items that qualify are always obscure things that you would never regularly buy.. I can go tons of shopping trips and never find a qualifying item, which is very frustrating, because you also have to go in and add every item you want to get cash back on. Additionally, shopping online retailers that have cash back offers is really the only way you will make any money, and that is only if you happen to shop a lot. That being said, even if you are certain you launch the app through their site, read all the fine print, that still doesn’t mean that you will get the cash back offer that is advertised. The worst part is they just don’t add it and don’t tell you it was denied unless you reach out.. and then even when you do that, they also don’t give you any specifics. Don’t hold your breath on online shopping cash back.. it’s always a wait and find out game to see if they will deem it qualified. Very irritating and not really sure it’s worth the effort.

Used to is the key phrase. Seriously I don’t know what you did in this latest update but it is so so so very very bad! Please take it back!!!! Nothing is working. It’s back to the dark ages. Manually scanning every item on my receipt even from Walmart, ugh are you kidding me? Going above and beyond what is needed for the bonus m, being credited a few pennies per item but not having the bonus even budge and then being told that the mistake must be my fault- it’s not- I can’t justify that time now when you have so drastically lowered your rebates. What would have once been 1.59 is no .35 and getting to $20 to cash out takes hundreds of dollars. I know, I have a choice. I don’t have to use it. It’s just I guess I always hold out hope that someday there will be one company that stays true to who they said they were. Ibotta set out on a mission and now their mission statement needs revision. I will give it a 5 and revise this the minute the app is fixed. That is a promise. It has to be fixed though. This is not okay. #Update- the update to fix the weird made it weirder yet and yes that isn’t correct grammar and I know but after a hot, exhausting day at the grocery store I’m just done trying to figure weird out.

It could be so much better. Well first off, I am still only half way to $20 and I’ve had an account for about a year but actively checking receipts and rebates for around 4 months now. And I’ve tried ibotta in the past but could never find any rebates from things I had bought and now it’s the same way. I will check to see if there are any rebates that I can find on things I was going to buy anyway while I am in the store but other than that, i am not going to go out of my way to buy something just to get a rebate on it. That basically defeats the whole purpose, I believe. And I check my receipts for rebates and can rarely find anything. I’ve gotten most of the $10 I have now from a friend rebate which was $5 and from the “any item” that adds .10 to .25 cents here and there. Idk it’s just a bigger hassle than anything I feel like. But maybe I will feel different after I finally have enough to get a gift card. But also it would be SOOOO MUCH EASIER if you could just scan the receipt and it searches your specific matched items instead of you trying to search for them and look up every item one by one. It’s just very time consuming. Just some suggestions that I feel could make your app better. And definitely need a lot more items than are on there now.

Can’t Withdraw My Money. Update: i After a month, I am STILL trying to withdraw over $160. I got to the point where someone tried to manually reset my account and it still didn’t work. So now I am back at square one starting over again with tech support because they don’t read the whole email chain. If I could give this negative stars I would. I have been using Ibotta for years and have never had any problems until recently. I have been trying to withdraw my money and keep getting the run around from customer support (if they respond at all). One time I made the mistake of mentioning that I also didn’t get a referral credit as well (not the main issue) and they keyed in on that instead, since it must have been an easier fix. Every time I try to verify my account, the number never gets texted to my phone. I have to verify my account before I can withdraw money. I find this odd though since as I mentioned before, have been using this app for years and have never had a problem until now. So clearly my account has been “verified” before. The only way I get a “timely” response (less than a week), is to put in the subject that I’m going to write a negative review. It gets a better response time, but still no solution. So, I’m making good on my promise of writing a negative review.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!. Costumer service is horrible for this service. I joined and purchased the items that were listed and that I checked on the Ibotta app for the Walmart free Thanksgiving meal promotion. When I scanned my receipt, Ibotta didn’t give me the $9.98 credit to my account for the Butterball Turkey that I purchased. I submitted a claim and waited a week before someone finally sent me an email. In the email, this person said they couldn’t find my account email. They asked me to send my email address so they could check my account. How did they send me an answer in the first place, if they couldn’t find my email address? Anyway, I sent my email address and several days go by before I receive an answer. Now they tell me the promo has ended, so that’s why I didn’t receive the credit to my account. Of course it’s ended now! Are they really that stupid! The promo went on for over a week after I purchased, check the items in the app, and submitted my receipt. You can’t trust them to give you the credits you should receive. DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!!!!

Very Unfavorable. SurpriseSurprise Ibotta responded to my review advising me to contact them. Been there done that. No thanks, Ibotta. It might be time to shut down. So many bad reviews!!!! ******** I agree with the previous post. Past payouts were much faster. My recent frustration comes from an online purchase. Ibotta advertises a certain percentage for a refund if certain online companies. One of these companies is Orbitz. I planned a vacation and bought 2 plane tickets and a weekly car rental in February 2019. Travel was in September 2019. Ibotta policy states that you must wait 45 days after your last day of travel before you receive your rebate. It has been well over 100 days and I have had many email communications with the company. All they keep telling me is that I have to supply any discount information that I was given, of which there was none. Now almost one year after I purchased the tickets my status is still “pending“. Definitely false advertising. I have given up and decided to use another reward site.

Great Deals!!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not sure how to contact you so I’ll do it here. There are SO MANY products you have listed for Natural Grocers that they don’t sell and never will. I worked for them for three years and know their products by heart. All their stores are owned by the same family in all the states they have them. So all product criteria are the same. I love the money I’ve received from ibotta in the 2 1/2 years I’ve been with you but it’s such a waste to offer so many items that are not in the store. It’s not just Natural Grocers. Whole Foods doesn’t sell so many of the products you list them. I can give you examples: All Crest products, Similac, all Kraft products, all Kellogg's products. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Same with ALL your stores you list but my main concern is with the two above mentioned stores. I’ll ALWAYS use your app, but think of the money people could “earn” if there were actually more items these stores actually sell and take out those they don’t. I LOVE you guys so much for offering us this opportunity to save so much money!! Keep up the good work!! Two thumbs up as always!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Horrible Customer Service. The app has been good for the most part. At first everything was great and used to get credit right away but that has changed recently. I made a hotel reservation in Priceline through Ibotta in June. The description clearly states the credit will be pending for 75 after my purchase. It has been almost 120 days and I still have not received my cash back. I opened a ticket with customer service about 6 weeks ago to inquire about the pending credit. At that time they stated would reach out to Priceline and would get back to me within 7 days. Well that did not happen... I had to reach out to them again several times to check on the status. They keep giving me the run around about why my credit is still pending and blaming it on Priceline. I decided to check directly with Priceline to see why they haven’t gotten back with Ibotta support team and they stated they have not received any requests from them... bottom line they just blame each other and I am the one who loses because I can’t get credit for my purchase. Service is horrible because you have to wait until they respond to your email since there is no phone number so you can speak to an actual person. If I would have known it was going to be this way I would have used another app.

Don’t link your account. I’ve been a user for years now and I am already in the $3000 club or something. I’m not even sure if that’s good or if there’s any advantage. Anyways, if you are going to use this app, just manually scan your receipt so you can correct outright and easily any rebates that were not recognized. I’ve linked my Food Lion account and 90% of the times I’ve to write customer service as some if not all my purchases that have cash back are not credited and It’s so tiring as if you’re begging for pennies to be credited back to you. Oftentimes they even ask you to send them pictures of the receipt or the bar codes or the actual product for verification after several days of the purchase. Like you can consume the product you purchase until they credit you back the rebate. I emailed them asking if I can just unlink my account and go back to regular scanning. But they said they can’t do that. So if you are going to use this app, just do the basic and avoid linking accounts.

I tell everyone I know, but..... This is the only rebate app I use and people are surprised at how much I make for doing so little. I live in Wyoming, and yes, we are skeptical and always have something to prove so I will bring in a receipts and show em’ how it’s done. However, I am a little flaky and spend hours trying to make sure I have the right offer for the right store. Do NOT even get me started on stacking a coupon with an offer during a sale at specific stores. It makes my brain hurt and I look like “Beautiful Mind with my note books that cross-reference newspaper ads that have coupons paper-clipped to them with sticky notes of Ibotta offers. I know I’m a lost (space) case, but Ibotta should develop some kinda cross referencing that could match any current coupon you have with the closest store that has an offer waiting for you (can I patent this idea right now? retailers would pay alotta to Ibotta ...no?). Well then I will continue to love Ibotta and make money from the comfort of my bed. I now go hunt stores for offers and my husband thinks I’m having an affair and I have to confess the games, bonuses and getting money transferred to my debit card SAME DAY is addictive. Love it! Gotta...have my Ibotta.

So frustrated. This used to be one of my favorite apps! I started using it in 2014 and have always told others to use it. But now I’m frustrated and pretty sad. I signed up in 2014 under an email address that I now rarely use. I logged into that email today and see a notification that I received a $3.99 maintenance fee for 180 days of inactivity. What?!? I’ve had multiple times through the years where I am just super busy and stop remembering to use the app. Then remember and start up again. Never had a fee in all that time! I had no idea. I login and find out that I had this charge 3 times. Which means I lost $12. Now the amount available in my account is less that $20, so I can’t withdraw it. I have spent so much time in this app over the years that I’ve earned back over $800! I just don’t understand why the fee. Does it cost you money to store my data? Do you really think it will make people want to keep using the app, knowing that you could lose the money you earn if you forget to withdraw it and go I active for 3 months?? Life is super busy and I forgot this was a thing! Just. Wow. Once I earn enough to withdraw my $20, I may be deleting this now. Sad.

Please address these issues. 1 - The customer care team has got to get better. Like so many others who’ve written reviews, the “team” takes at least 2-3 days to respond to even the most basic inquiries. Simple fix: hire more people and train them better, please. 2 - Price Cutter: for whatever reason, this app cannot recognize any offers from Price Cutter. I can buy $250 worth of groceries and upload the receipt, which matches at least 8-10 offers I’ve added into my account. Once it’s done scanning, it gives you the page showing “we found one matched offer (any item), did we miss anything?” Every. Single. Time. Yes, yes you missed something - ALL of the things. Then, to make it more aggravating, I then have to manually select the offers that match and physically go to my unloaded groceries and scan the barcodes, which of course confirm that they are a match. THEN, it doesn’t add your credits, and I have to email customer service and wait weeks to have the funds change from “pending” to available. Please fix this, it’s making me avoid shopping at price cutter. Why? Because I can go to Walmart across the street, get the same things, then just scan the barcode on the receipt and I’m done. Otherwise, I enjoy the app. Please fix this issues!

Ibotta is fantastic!. I've been using it for a couple of years, and I went a long time where i was so busy i forgot to do the claims. It is difficult for me, singularly to meet some of the bonus goals even when my team does meet theirs, so I feel like I am letting them down! There should be more opportunities for rebates at restaurants, gas, online and other retailers. Also, I feel that the "any Brand" items are really low rebate at only .20, but that opens up a much broader way for me to spend and earn a rebate. I think .20 at "discount" retailers like Walmart, Dollar General, ShopNSave, Aldi, etc is fine, but to get those same itmes at Schnucks, Target, Walgreens, etc. costs more and therefore should perhaps be .25 or .30 rebate. Just a suggestion! I’ve told many about the App and i am glad i came back to it. Was bummed out yesterday when i tried to enter a couple of them and when i was asked to scan the item (Campbell’s Mushroom Soup) and told it was not valid. That also happened with another item that was so obviously the right item. But overall, I like the App!

They limited the amount of coupons you can step at a time. They have changed things, so you have to spend a lot of time clipping coupons. If you clip more than 10 coupons, you get a pop-up making you wait a full minute before adding more. If you scroll too fast, it will completely boot you and you have to start all over again. So now you have to stare at the screen, the entire time, making a note of what section you’re in because it will boot you eventually add instead of having to slowly scroll through everything again, you go to the last section you were in. This change is nothing but annoying! Fix it already. You see all of these reviews and upset people. It’s been doing this for months. Another fun thing, when you use another app, it catches every single item you purchase quickly. This one, on the other hand, constantly likes to miss your rebates. But be careful, when you write in about the missing rebates, they will show you they gave it to you, but they have deleted other rebates they had originally credited you with. Seems really unethical. Granted, they are usually pretty quick at fixing the issue when you write to them about it, but the fact of the matter is, they are missing a lot of money. I feel like it’s on purpose.

Really Disappointed. I had downloaded this app and am unsure of why it runs smoothly up until it’s time to cash out. I have followed their rules for submitting receipts, and still am unable to transfer funds to PayPal. Having a big household, these savings are very important to me and my 5 children. I was excited to earn cash back on these items. I just keep getting a “failed:there was an error”. My PayPal account is verified and I have followed their troubleshooting steps in their self help articles. I even attempted using my husbands PayPal just in case it was an issue with my PayPal but error was the same.i did contact their care team and a little less than 24 hours later they marked my ticket as “solved “ even though they never resolved the issue nor did they make any attempt to reach out to me by phone , email, etc. I have a feeling they don’t have sufficient funds to be payed out and delay the process or make up some excuse to not pay out. Either that, or the app itself is faulty. But From what I’ve been reading and seeing in the internet, this company seems to have questionable practices. It’s really stomach turning to say the least . Hope that this issue gets fixed soon.

Has become way too troublesome!. I initially enjoyed Ibotta and was able to save money on things I buy. I used the gift cards to purchase gifts for my sons birthdays and Christmas gifts. However, the app has sadly become so inaccurate, cumbersome and time-consuming to use ... I’ve all but given up! I CANNOT GET THE APP TO LOAD 98% of the time!!!! I HAVE DELETED THE SPP COMPLETELY, REINSTALLED THE APP AND TRIED LOGGING IN AGAIN. This worked twice but now will not work at all! The time I have spent deleting, reinstalling, trying to log in, searching for offers, submitting support tickets .... all in an attempt to get credit for offers I have purchased and am entitled too. Then if and when I finally get in, once an offer is “redeemed”, you then HAVE TO SCAN THE ITEMS BARCODE ON THE PACKAGING!!!!!! WHAT????? I just spent 2-3 days trying to get the app to load!!! I don’t even HAVE THE PACKAGE ANYMORE MOST OF THE TIME!!! And if you ever do get in to the App and STILL HAVE THE PACKAGING, 90% of the time it says your receipt HAS EXPIRED!!!! WHAT THE HECK??? AFTER DOING ALL THAT I CANT EVEN “REDEEM “ MY OFFERS???!!!??!! IBOTTA USED TO BE A GREAT APP....SADLY THAT HAS ALL CHANGED!! AND I FEEL LIKE THE APP LEARNS WHAT YOU BUY MIST AND DELIBERATELY DOES NOT GICE YOU OFFERS FOR THOSE ITEMS ANYMORE! SO YOU END UP WITH ZERO OFFERS FOR THINGS THAT YOU WOULD BUY!! SHSME IN UOU IBOTTA...YOU HAVE TAKEN AWAY THE ABILITY FOR SIME OF US TO PROVIDE GOR OUR KIDS WHAT WE COUKD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD!

Bug Fixes? Nope.. SavingStar is so much more user friendly, iBotta needs to take notes! iBotta used to be the best app for grocery rebates, but it sadly takes a backseat to the new apps available. iBotta is so extremely frustrating to use that it’s not worth the time & effort to get the rebates. I’ve been using iBotta for over 2 yrs now. The app updates say “Bug Fixes” every time there’s an update; however, they NEVER fix the bug issue of scanning receipts! The most basic thing this app is supposed to do doesn’t work EVER! It takes me at least 10-15 times to scan my receipts because the app closes out once the receipt is scanned. It almost never links the offers from the receipt, so when u click to add other offers it just crashes EVERY time. Then I get so annoyed I say I’ll just try it again tomorrow. The next day the offers are gone. So I contact customer service, which has gotten better over the years, & they have to add the $ to my account. It used to take customer service ab 10-14 days to get back to u bc they force u to read other users reviews on how they tried to fix their accounts themselves, which makes NO sense. Now it takes ab 3-5 days. That’s the only improvement they’ve made. Overall, I’d rate this app 1 star.

College fund money!. I have been using ibotta since 2015. Getting CASH-BACK for doing what I have to anyway, SHOP, sounds like a WIN WIN for me. Yes it takes some extra time to look thru the offers, pick what you need, shop and then load your receipt, but 10 extra mins total for free money why would you pass that up? The money I have made has beat any other cash-back app, coupon list or rewards card I have yet to discover. All you have to do is be mindful when before, during, and after shopping and work the app for your benefit. 10 cents here, 1 dollar here and there might not sound like much at first but trust me it adds up. I use the money for my sons college fund. At the rate I’m going I will be able to pay for a full year of college just from the money I am redeeming and that calculation is on the conservative side. It could be more. Don’t have a kid? Think of all the other things you can do. Pay off some bills, add to your savings, go on a vacation. It’s possible. Just find a way to work it with IBOTTA!

Service has Drastically Declined, Major Hassle. I am a long time user and would’ve given a glowing 5 star review a few months ago, but the service has tanked. I used to get credit immediately after picking up my groceries at Walmart, but the last several times I’ve had to request credit by emailing the help center. I’m currently 27 emails in to my attempt to get credit for my last order, which was almost entirely items qualifying for offers. Every email is a new representative that seems to not look at what has already been submitted. I’ve been asked for screenshots of my order receipt multiple times (I provided it), I’ve been asked for a list of offers I should’ve received multiple times (I provided it), then I was asked for screenshots of the offers - which is in some cases impossible because they expire and disappear from the app after awhile. I was then asked for photos of every grocery item -front side and barcode! This has been going on for days and my family has consumed many of the items already so of course I can only provide some of the photos. This has been such a ridiculous hassle that I would no longer recommend this app. I wish it was seamless and easy like it used to be.

DO NOT USE. THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND ANYONE I REFERRED AND KEPT ALL THE MONEY EARNED!!!! THEY SAID ITS BECAUSE I RETURNED ITEMS!!! THIS APP WILL STEAL FROM YOU!!!!’First I was accused of trying to use receipts twice which is a false accusation. I did not get credit for anything twice in one receipt. I merely added what the app forgot to give me credit for (Ibotta very regularly will forget to give you credit for things that you matched as qualifying for cash back so you have to double check your receipts every time) This was their mistake and I fixed it only to have them throw it back in my face and accuse me of stealing. They took back every penny of cash back I earned on those receipts along with any bonuses attached to them, they have locked me out of my account and to make things worse they banned my friend that I referred before they even had a chance to use it (that would also be before I got the credit for referring the person as well) Needless to say I feel very embarrassed that they did this to my friend after I talked so highly of the app. Oh and of course I still have not heard from an actual person in regards to all this but that’s normal they usually take weeks to respond to anything you have a concern with. I was actually really starting to enjoy this app but now I feel so insulted and taken advantage of that I wont be using it or recommending it ever again.

Love the cashback, don’t love the process. I really like this app and have used it for a while. The updates keep getting better. Sometimes the exact items that qualify for bonuses can be confusing, but it’s not a huge deal. I do wish you were eligible for any item Ibotta was offering at any given time without having to preselect it. I have very often run into a scenario where I did purchase a qualifying item, but since I didn’t select it before submitting my receipt, I do not get that cash back. It would take much less time to have everything automatically eligible. I do not have the time to scroll through all offers and see what I might buy. It’s also time consuming and difficult to scan every barcode while I’m in store shopping to see if it’s being offered with ibotta. Sometimes I am able to check out the app and find items I will try that are being offered, and I do like the option to try new things, but the moments where I actually have five minutes to check it out are few and far between!! If this was fixed and all items were automatically eligible, I would add stars to my review. Thanks!!

Account suspended. This app has been a giant disappointment to me, my family, and friends. I am a college student at Ferris State University, and I'm just beginning my first semester without a meal plan. Due to Covid, the meal plan that ferris provides has really gone down hill, and me and my friends decided we'd take a crack at cooking ourselves. I started looking at coupon sites and saw this app. I downloaded it, and was so excited to use it for rebates. They even have giftcards you can get and get money back. I used it for a few items first and it seemed to go smoothly. Right now there's a sign up deal that anyone who joins and uses a few deals gets 20$. This, on top of the amazing deals I could find made me recommend this to my other friends who are buying groceries, and to my family members as well. Recently however, all of our accounts were suspended. None of us know why, and customer service is taking a really long time to get back with any of us. This hurts for two big reasons. 1 me and members of my family have bought goods that we cannot be reimbursed for after I recommended the app to them 2 in order to get the 20$ sign up bonus you need to make so many purchases within the first 14 days. With none of us able to access our account, this is all but impossible. This is the first time I've ever felt bad about recommending an app to someone.

Not worth the headache. This App use to be really easy to use and like any other small money making app it takes a while. The rewards always came through though no problems. However, they have made changes recently and NONE of them seem to be working out from what I've been reading. I FINALLY got to 20$ so I went to cash out and now we have to do a 2 step verification to even get your money. OK thanks for the extra security but... I typed in my number and nope. It says that's not the number for the account. I had one number for 10 years. So I contacted support like it asked. I gave them my old number then my husband's number seeing if that would help. Wrong again! After waiting multiple days I get and email back say sorry but I provided them with the wrong number for the account. *insert huge eyeroll* I use to love this app but I warn you now. With all their recent changes it is NOT worth the headache for a measly 20$ that takes months upon months to accumulate. The rebates they offer too don't personally appeal to me either. Maybe to someone else? I'm using this app though because I'm a mom on a budget and a lot of the products are definitely not budget friendly. I'm currently trying to close my account but that's a process in itself as well!

It’s not a me issue it’s an Ibotta issue. I have always been a fan of Ibotta. I have used it faithfully. But right now I am so frustrated with Ibotta. They have been offering a $3.00 rebate for my WalMart Grocery Pickup. It has been in the app since June and I have taken advantage of it every time that I purchase groceries. However even though I launch the WalMart grocery app through the shop button next to the offer in Ibotta. Even though I make sure that there are no other apps running in the background. Even though I make sure I don’t have anything in my cart before I even open Ibotta. My rebate is never in my account and I have to send an email to their customer support center. They do make sure that I get my rebate but all they tell me is to do to fix the problem is to do the things that I’m already doing. And when I have told them I’m doing everything they told me to they just say sorry for the inconvenience. I’m afraid after reading reviews that they are going to lock my account and not give me accsss to the money I have earned because of all the times I have had to submit a request to them. I’m very frustrated and so firmly believe that this is not a me issue it is an Ibotta issue. I will be happy to change my rating when I don’t have to submit and email every time I want to take advantage of an offer.

Very Difficult to Earn!. I usually don’t leave negative feedback but since IFind myself reading reviews before I purchase something I figured that it would be important for me to do the same. First of all, you have to earn $20 before you can cash out. Most similar apps allow you to cash out at 10. It takes forever to look through their offers at a given store and then when you scan your receipt, they make you scan The item that you just purchased and put away in your cabinets! This app is just way too time-consuming for a little return. I looked up Food Lion and added their offers for the items I purchased and then went to redeem. To my surprise, Food Lion was not a store that I could redeem from!! How in the heck can that be?? I did have this happen once before with the same store so I sent him a ticket to inquire about it and the answer from Customer Support was that they no longer participated with Food Lion! Why would you have their store listed and then offers from the store as well but not allow me to redeem??! If I ever get my balance up to $20 again I’m going to cash out and then delete this app. It’s not worth the hassle and it’s certainly not worth the time

Worst app ever. First, I want to give this app a NEGATIVE rating but cannot. I have never dealt with a more incompetent company. Every time I get a considerable cash back, they find a reason to question it, cancel cash back and send me email after email asking for the same info over and over again so I can prove it. It takes me weeks to get things resolved and most of the time, they are left unresolved. I am out $$ constantly. I suddenly get noticed that my cash came through the vendor after 2-3 months but my total never increases. I have to follow up over and over, then do the math to see it is not right and explain it to incompetents. They clearly don’t read the email conversations through customer support. This is at least the 10th time I’ve gone over the same ground again on a transaction. I only joined less that 1 yr ago. As soon as I can get my money out that I am currently owed, I am leaving this joke of an app. It’s nothing but a scam. Rakuten is by far the best and I should never have tried this one. It never works in store and constantly has issues. If you enjoy spending all your time tracking every purchase, taking a zillion screen shots and eating your time to send the same info over and over again, they you will enjoy this app.

Too good to be true. I thought I would give it a try, as I’m always looking for deals and coupons. I registered and linked my grocery store savings card, and added items I was purchasing. I went out of my way to get different items than usual in order to save money and receive the $20 new user rebate. However, nothing was ever distributed to me, despite even uploading pictures of my receipt. When I submitted my concerns and asked for help, I was told I would have someone talk to me in 4-7 days, which is just awful customer care, especially when the customer is already upset about missing out on $75 worth of redeemable cash back they were told they would receive. This app is pointless since you never receive anything for your purchases, and it seems like a ploy to push consumers to buy products from partners of the app. I’ll stick to saving money using savings cards and coupons. Update: this also happened the second time I tried using it. The developers contacted me saying someone should contact me and no one has despite multiple attempts I have made at reaching out. This app is absolutely not worth the trouble and my previous theory stands... it is likely just a way to advertise and encourage customers to purchase items from partnered products.

Very shady. Was very happy with this app. I started making money and everything was fine, it was kind of fun too. Then weird stuff was happening. One day I got a email saying we debited your account from receipts that I submitted 4 months ago. I was confused and wrote them and screen shot the receipts from there app and asked them why? They responded that the receipt didn’t specify the brand, even though it was clearly there. I argued this 3 times no help. The they debited my account again and this time I did the same thing sent the screen shot these were credited 3 months ago. They said I issued a receipts that was old so I circled the date and the date submitted. They have me the same automative response twice, again no reimbursement. Now they locked my account and said it was under review this has been 2 months of me writing them and I got the same response 3 times saying ank you for your response. Please provide us with any information regarding your account as it was flagged for review based on Ibotta Saver data, shopping behavior or account audits. So I’ve replied sure what info do u need I would be happy to supply you with info. And they send the same exact response 3 times. This is frustrating and unprofessional and you can’t get a answer, or withdrawal your money. What a scam.

Money withdrawal issue... Giving three stars because I’m having such a hard time withdrawing my earned cash back it’s ridiculous.... I understand the first time having an error because I had 2 accounts with the same info on both but one account I never touched because I forgot my login info for that account and the email attached to it so I created a newer account with my email I use all the time.... One account just had to be deleted so I did so.. Went to try and withdraw my earned cash once again and NOW it’s saying there’s an issue with my phone number.... It’s saying “phone number verification failed” which I don’t understand because I had to verify my phone number in order to attach my PayPal to my account.... all for $40. Money is tight right now and I’m in desperate need to withdraw this cash and now I’m feeling like I’m a criminal or something because I have to jump through so many hoops for money that I EARNED BACK. I logged into my other device to see if it was because I was using my new phone with it and not an old device that had all my info on it (if that makes sense) now it’s saying I’m locked out AGAIN! But why!? Will consider giving a better rating once this is resolved....

Used to love this app. This app used to have a lot of good products available and a decent amount to save. Now, I barely can find anything I buy regularly. And having to buy 2 of something to get credit when just one costs 5.99 & and you’re getting back 0.25 for two. Also, for Target, I have my red card attached to Ibotta, but they’re constantly leaving off items of products I bought. Then I have to report an issue, take photos of the products including the barcode. You can’t even check to see if items were missed or do it manually. That’s not convenient. Plus, I don’t think they read the messages all the way through. I’ve been going back and forth for a few days about a bonus credit I finished. First time, they told me to be patient it might take 2 days for my rebate credit to show. And that’s not what I was asking which I clearly stated in the message. I replied and even sent screenshots of the bonuses I was asking about. They still got it wrong & gave me credit for 1 bonus. I hate what this app has become. Now a days, I have to report an issue for almost all my purchases. It’s frustrating. If I saved enough money, it might be worth it. But, you don’t & it isn’t. I’m considering uninstalling the app. And I’ve used this app for 5+ years.

I love this app!!!! Needs some touching up. I usually buy whatever is the cheapest item in the grocery story and never really looked to see if I was really getting the best deal. I love to use the any brand offers for stuff I already buy all the time and then use the specific brand offers for items I've never used before but if I can get $2 back why not? Completing the additional challenges and offers helps to quickly build cash back revenue. I've only had this app over a month and already redeemed over $60. Something I would ask the developers to work on is extending the offer rules and restriction section for the app. If there are specific offer details the app only has one line of rules before it . . . And there is no option to extend that section to complete reading. I have to open a browser and fight with that browser to stop opening the app so that I can read the full description from the website. I've had to make a few complaints for not adding the proper redeem or referral amount to my account, but they always review and update my account. Even if it takes them 2 weeks to get back to me.

OVER Two weeks with no resolve (NOW WEEK 3) *updated*. After getting more and more people to use the app I feel tricked to believing that this company cares at all if the issues would ever be resolved. Been locked out for weeks with no clue on why not even sure if I’m deactivated or whatever and still to this moment no response while I’m looking crazy sending users and getting credit that I can’t even access. Feeling scammed at this point because even if something was submitted incorrectly no way that it’s done on purpose on my end but the company don’t even have the professionalism to tell me as I’m increasing there users with a growing account I can’t touch! Let alone the hundreds of credits for my transactions I made with my linked cards that I never received response to as well...guess it was to good to be true to keep benefiting there users! Wouldn’t feel moved to leave this if this wasn’t the first time I heard this happening to people but it started off well and I’m clueless on what happened after bragging about this company to friends and family.

Love Hate app. I love this app until you have to upload a Walmart receipt( which I really don’t too often)! It is the most frustrating thing ever!!!!! More times than not it doesn’t work or doesn’t match, doesn’t qualify... But then I use it with my Walgreen and Super Saver receipts and it works flawlessly NEVER a problem. Even after I reach out to Ibotta bc cash back is not showing up on my account they pretty much say sorry it’s a “Walmart Thing” and want me to jump through All sorta hoops to prove they have it wrong, after you send pictures of barcodes and products AND the Receipt they say well what do you want me to do…. Give me the money that was advertised in your app!!! Literally it’s like talking to a toddler in a candy store. Nothing was accomplished big waste of time and energy for nothing… I guess just don’t expect anything back from Walmart and definitely don’t count on assistance from team to settle any issues or discrepancies. Just be thankful for what you do get back and I’ll probably recommend using other cash back apps that work a little better especially if you do most of your shopping at Walmart!

Used to work, Now it’s a SCAM. Ibotta used to be great. Whenever you weren’t given credit for something, they looked over the receipt and checked it. Receipts were processed within 2 days. Now, receipts take up to 2 weeks to process. This wouldn’t be a problem if all offers came off with just the receipt, but they don’t. I have missed out on so many offers because on top of asking for another picture of the receipt which granted they should already have from the original submission, they now ask for a picture of the item and the barcode on the box/item. On top of that, emailing back and forth is tedious as they try and add more things for you to send in to prove you even bought the right item. If you guys are anything like me I only buy things I’m going to use right away therefore I have either consumed the product or I don’t have the original packaging anymore. I always scan the products on the app to make sure they’re the right products and even through the app says they are I am still not given credit for the items. My pictures are always clear. This leads me to believe that the whole point of this app is to only get you to buy products and never give you the advertised rebate.

It wasn’t broken, so they “fixed it”. The most annoying aspect is their recent change of tracking your earnings. The old way was perfect for being able to compare how you were doing from the previous year and had MONTHLY earnings totals which was accurate for filing taxes. This new process gives you NO running total and your year in review BEFORE the end of the year, which is inaccurate for your earnings and any other categories…..so IMO, useless. Now we have to go back to Jan 1 and add each receipt to Dec 31. to get a total. Not Happy. When I first downloaded this app I really didn’t use it much, was locked out for some reason and when I finally got around to getting back on got into the habit of using it. The offers were good and I was able to save, especially when I got better at matching products with sales. It’s become less of an incentive with more “specialized” products we just do not need or use, and most offers are lower, as money has shifted to bonuses which get higher as you actually use the app. They can be very hard to complete with a household of 2 seniors on fixed income. Mostly I don’t even try anymore.

Ibotta offer is misleading and false. I am an Ibotta user for 3 years. Lately Ibotta is starting to audit or review my account for no particular reason and partially block some of my app function so I can’t withdraw my money. After the review they restore my account with apology for inconvenience but they continue to give me more inconvenience. They will not let me redeem my rebate saying that the item is not eligible eventhough I was able to scan and check that it is. You have to scan the item first before you can submit the receipt anyway. I am patient enough to respond to them to provide the picture s well as the barcode of the item as they requested and with no further reply they dismiss the case and the offer is back on my account without giving me any credit for it. It is misleading that Ibotta offer an item but once you buy it you can’t redeem for the credit with the excuse it doesn’t match when in fact it has to match before you can submit the item. I am so frustrated about the misleading offer and it is so unreliable if this happens once it will happens again. Should have not posted offer that you are not responsible enough to give people credit for.

Terrible Customer Service. I have been using Ibotta faithfully and respectfully for about two years now. My account has never been suspended or anything of that nature. As I mentioned before, I have been using Ibotta for about two years and I have a nice amount of money saved up on the app. As I go to cash out, it asks me to verify my phone number— which I have done before to cash out $20)— and it says that my phone number is incorrect, so I immediately contact customer service and explain to them that something is wrong. Customer service then proceeds to tell me that I need to figure out what number is on the account because that is the ONLY way for them to verify it is me. Mind you, I’ve had the same cell phone number for about 5 years, the only thing that has changed is my carrier. I also explain that to them and they just continued to tell me to figure out the number. Ibotta refuses to assist me with verify my account and this email back and fourth has been going on for about a WEEK. I have even sent them picture proof of the lines on my cell phone account and even a screen recording of me in the account and that representative just decided to close the concern and told me to have a great day. Just rude and inconsiderate. I will be taking high and legal actions because this is absolutely unacceptable.

Horrible App. This used to be a fun, good, Easy app to use and now it is just crap! I deleted it and will never be using it again! You select your items, then head to the store and when you go to make sure an item qualifies the Scan barcode doesn’t work. Then when you get home they have mysteriously changed the layout to where now there is no button to scan your receipt to redeem, after you have already purchased all these items! This also means that if they haven’t fixed it before the bonus runs out you lose that too. So, you contact them and it takes about a week to get a response that generically says you have to have the latest version, completely close out of the app then try to re enter, power off your phone then try again. I mean come on people I did those things even when the app was half working correctly. I even deleted the app, waited a week and tried to reinstall and still the same crap. This has become a pure scam! Well, I am sure I have made you tons of money, but now I have no use for your app because it can’t save ME money and that is the only reason I ever got it. You will not make another cent off of me.
