Not showing earthquakes. It is not showing earthquakes from immediately after to several hours after the July 4, 2019 earthquake in California. I have made sure that the overlay is set to earthquakes, but I suspect that it is overloaded. The Quakefeed app is working.

Was a good app. Used to work fairly well but last several versions don't send me alerts even though my settings are correct. It also frequently crashes. Check alternative earthquake apps - theres many.

Deleting old alerts. How do you delete all the alerts on this app I have hundreds of alerts that I can't get rid of that are taking up storage space

Great App But not enough granularity. The one thing I don’t like about this app and this is the reason why I’m uninstalling is that you cannot select the magnitude of the earthquake to be notified. This app goes off every 20 minutes alerting me of earthquakes with a magnitude of un 1. I don’t care to receive those notifications. I’d like to program the app to alert me for example anything over a magnitude 4. If there is such a setting I could not find it. Other than this, really like the app. Thanks

Was a great app. Pretty good app, pretty bad update. Not the first time an update made this app worse. Sure would rather the updates focus on improvements, rather than changes for the worse.

Contacts phone number choices MUST be fixed!. Red Cross/ 3 Sided Cube — I'm a beta tester for the Red Cross, and have been telling you this for YEARS: You MUST fix the ability to choose which number from within each Contacts listing is to be called when the "I'm Safe" button is clicked. As it is, the top number on the Contact list is the default — there is no way to select WHICH number for the app to text. Are users to go through their Contacts list and rearrange all the phone numbers to appease the app quirks? Certainly a landline auto-message asking for 25¢ to place a call is not very convenient when the ceiling has fallen in during a natural disaster. Also, what about an option to send an "I'm Safe" email vs. texting?Without these options, the apps are pretty much worthless and do not meet with your mission statement. Your agency was created to SUPPORT those affected by emergencies. These apps are falling short. In addition: I just gotta notice for an earthquake 150 miles away when my radius is 25. RED CROSS: SPEND MY DONATION DOLLARS MORE RESPONSIBLY AND DUMP YOUR DEVELOPER!!!

Stopped Working. This application stopped working.

Marginal at best. Maps not updated. Most detailed info, on maps like shelter locations, earthquake strength layers, nonexistent.

No longer fully functional. Lost mapping resource.

Used to work, now it’s trash. This app seemed decent until this week. My notifications settings are set to notify when 4.5+. So why have I been getting 0.9 warnings for 4 days? DO NOT DOWNLOAD unless they publish a statement explaining why and what they did to fix the trash.

Bad App, Bad Organization. Bad app steals my my time, just like they steal supplies from churches and hamburgers from volunteers.

Very late advice. I live in Puerto Rico, and lately there are many earthquakes happening. I got this app to get notifications every time the earth is shaking at the moment, but it doesn’t do that. An earthquake happened about 20 minutes ago, and NOW I’m receiving the earthquake notification. This app is A FAIL. I thought it was more efficient because it’s from the American Red Cross, but it isn’t.

Unreliable.. Thanks to this app, I’ve never missed out on the piddly magnitude 2.1 earthquakes that plague me in Southern California. But when a nearly magnitude 5.0 struck, this app showed nothing. Not even for days afterward. I’m actively looking for a different app now.

Has what you need.. Has all the info you could need. Also has volunteer info too. Great app.

Awesome. Super helpful — love this app.

DOES NOT WORK. This used to be a great app years ago. I live in LA so I’d get notifications all the time based on my settings and now it does even send notifications. I open the app and there are TEN earthquake warnings. Never received a pushed notification. I haven’t changed any settings. This app is garbage and has been for a while. What happened?

Good, Not Perfect. I have had this App in use for at least a year. It offers many useful functions that can personalize its benefits. One recent downside was noted: Monitoring zones and locations were reset after an update. So while it was only a minor inconvenience to re-establish them, it is something to be mindful of and periodically recheck that they are still in place and functioning.

USA only? Inadequate.. This app formerly allowed me to monitor locations important to me in Canada and Mexico, but a recent update erased all my monitored locations and removed the ability to select locations outside the US. That is unfortunate, and is not an improvement. My inquiry was answered that the app never had the capability of monitoring outside the US, however, I had these locations saved, monitored, and received alerts for them for many years before they disappeared. I do not wish to malign the app, I simply want what was once a working function to be restored.

Not useful. I wanted an app that would tell me if that was an earthquake I just felt, but updates are delayed too much and it's faster for me to check the USGS site. Also, I have a fairly large region because I want to know if there's a if enough one originating 40 miles away that I might feel...but it keeps telling me about little ones. Tell me about just the big ones far away, but smaller ones close by. I want to know what I might actually have felt!

Earthquake app. Received notification 10 minutes after it happened. Needs to be sooner!

Late Notifications. Received the notifications of earthquakes here in PR more than 20 minutes after the shakes.

Updates are terrible. This used to be great, it’s become so much less user friendly and a lot of features are missing. I got an alert this morning, now I can’t view it.

Late late warnings. We are receiving the warnings on the phone 30 minutes plus from when they happen. Goes “earthquake warning” yeah tell me some thing I don’t know. Why it takes so much time, don’t know but makes it useless.

This app is useless. I never get an alert when I actually feel an earthquake and I subsequently read that it was 3.5 or higher. I sometimes do get alerts when I don’t feel a thing. My alert sensitivity is set for 3.0 or higher. The fact that there are so many FAQs about not getting alerts leads me to believe something is really broken with this app.

Notifications are reliable and timely. This one has consistently out performed Hawaii Civil Defense notification for us by about 45 minutes. Tsunamis, earthquakes, and hurricanes. Great app that works properly those rare times that we rely on it.

Major Earthquake, NO NOYIFICATION. The most significant earthquake in decades hit East Tennessee this morning -- 12DEC18. No alert from this app even though all notifications are on, and on review, no report.

It’s not working when I most need it!. I live in Puerto Rico and there was an Earthquake of 8.0 this morning at 4am. I wake up and check my phone to see if any more happen before, after that I keep checking my phone to see where it happen. Half an hour later I get the notification, more happen after wards and I don’t get a notification of the location. About four hours later another Earthquakes hits, I check my phone and nothing and at the time I’m scared cause I don’t know where it was so I worry even more. 40 minutes later I get the notification of it. Last year I don’t remember exactly when, there was a small earthquake and I got the notification quickly and I was calm cause I could keep track of them. But today is Not a good day for the app to be failing at loading my location and saying there was a problem, It failed me at the worst time...

For what it is; thumbs up. Nothing is perfect, but I would say it gave me a good idea as to how to approach earthquakes and gave me the mindset in order to be more prepared. This app shouldn’t be a primary source, but if you are interested in earthquake preparation one source probably wouldn’t cut it anyway. So + on the basics of earthquake prep + on the tools and ideas to use on my own The earthquake warning part can be more streamlined, but all things considered this is 1. A free app. Not payment required 2. The Red Cross focuses on many projects like blood donation; not a lot money to be made here. 3. Gets you thinking about dangers that can avoided. 4. It’s free!

App improvement. The alerts are up an hour late and some of them neither are registered through the app, this is in Puerto Rico.

I don’t like the update. Prior to the update I could tap on alert that was two days old and it would bring up the information. Now I tap on alert of an hour ago and it does not show me the location or the information it’s very frustrating. We need to have a little more history being saved on our locations.

App doesn’t work. Once upon a time, this app worked. Now it doesn’t. Maybe the developer hasn’t kept up with iOS updates - I don’t know. But you can’t even enter a notification area.

Like the app. Previous versions were pretty basic but current do the job of notification of earthquake in a timely manner.

Fantastic use of technology. Provides clear, concise information and easily followed instructions. Uses language that gives a sense of empowerment and calm and is likely to minimize panic. Extremely useful information and planning tools. Thanks so much, Red Cross- as usual your disaster preparedness is phenomenal.

Update deleted ALL my monitoring settings???. This most recent update (3.11.0) wiped out all of my settings. I’m monitoring seven locations, all with different regional concerns and radii. Setting up these locations was already unnecessarily tedious and time-consuming, especially as they need to be carefully refined over time to minimize the many irrelevant alerts. And now they’re all gone. Poof. Same thing with the other two Red Cross apps I use. All personal monitoring settings completely wiped out. I am beyond dissatisfied. Useless.

Wrong alert. I get alerts for pacific side of Mexico when setting is within 60 miles of Henrico VA

No Warning. 6.4 earthquake this AM; this app gave no warning and the option to check in safe picks the wrong # for people I chose and there doesn’t seem to be an option to fix it

Don’t download 👎. Useless app without any correct updates. There’s was 6.5 earthquake yesterday in Humboldt county, CA. No alarm, literally nothing about it on the app.

Version 3.12.0 DOES NOT WORK. The app lost or deleted my alerts! And the map service that Red Cross uses is no longer sending updates, so the maps don't work. This app is completely useless.

Map not showing earthquakes.. The map in this app no longer shows the locations earthquakes.

One of the better apps in a long time. My old review below. Just had a 4.1 center a few miles away, the worst I have experienced in the app does not even recognize it. This app is now useless to me. Uninstalling! Just installed it and 5 minutes later got my first alert, living in SoCal. Just discovered the alert setting, don't really care about shakes 250 miles away. Overall I think this app is a must have. Well done.

Great concept, Inadequate execution & faulty features. The “Alerts” section, which has an area tracking feature (pick an address/city and mile radius to monitor), is a good idea but doesn’t work in real time. Likewise, the “Maps” feature has an option to show earthquakes... but this does not work either. It’s very frustrating, as it claims to show all earthquakes within the past 30 days yet this is clearly not the case. This app would be 5 stars if he most critical features worked.

Bugs!. The update deleted my locations but one. I can’t put an international location in.

Good app. I have all my important people’s locations tagged so I know when anything happens

Terrible app. Just went through an earthquake and this app 15 min later is still saying all is well. It was not major but twitter and many other apps already reported the quake location and intensity. This app has yet to report it. Useless!

Can't be trusted. Just yesterday there was an alert for an earthquake affecting Puerto Rico, jet, the program have no warning nor recorded anything.

Not able to add locations outside US. In Previous versions of this app I was able to add Cuenca, Ecuador as a monitored location. Now it appears that only locations in the US can be added. Not helpful since I spend a great deal of my time in Ecuador

Hit or miss. Works sometimes but doesn’t at other times. Alerts of earthquakes are spotty as the app doesn’t even know of an event that happened where I live in CA. The location selection is very hard to select international locations. In fact it doesn’t even work anymore. Not too reliable!

Not a great app. Have had this app on my phone 4 over a year & This app never informs me about an earthquake or a tremor have had several tremors near me & it has yet 2 notify me.

Solid resource!. Thank you Red Cross.

Earthquake notification. This application is useless. I get no notifications for any emergency. The local news has better emergency notification system in place. I am uninstalling this.

Great app & Best Looking. I just moved to california, when it occured to me i had no idea what to do if an earthquake happened. This is the best resource i have found whether online or in the appstore. thank you guys very much for creating it. My only issue is that sometimes upon app launch the app tells me i have no internet connection, and i have to close the app entirely and relaunch. perhaps adding a second delay before checking internet connectivity would solve the issue?

Add this capability. This is a nice app but what it really needs is the ability to utilize the iPhone accelerometer to detect earthquakes and share that data to the cloud and/or the USGS. Only when enough similar readings are detected from a certain region within a narrow timeframe would the data be considered legitimate and then be pushed back out to the map for all users to view. The app could also be active only at certain times of the day/night that the user defines. As well as only be active when connected to pre-defined wifi networks. Such as Home or work. Another option would be to only take accelerometer reading when it is plugged into power (such as when on your night stand or connected to a computer USB). The app could also use the iPhone GPS to disable sensor reading when moving. As well as only record seismic data when the app detects the iPhone is laying flat on its back. Another option would be to disable the seismic sensor data output when a face is detected with the front facing camera. Requiring the app to be running in the foreground would also further prevent false readings. This could easily, quickly, and cheaply create a huge network of seismographs around the world.

Feature lost. Previous versions would open the map and pinpoint the location of the earthquake, tornado, thunder storm, and wild fires. Current versions do not allow this which reduces the effectiveness when monitoring locations of family members when not familiar with the location. Would like to see this ability reinstated

Draining my battery. I like the app, but the when I allow location services (to monitor earthquake activity near me), it is on ALL the time and drains my battery. Please fix this. I still have the app installed, but have to turn off the location services to keep my battery preserved- which now does not allow me to see if any earthquakes have occurred in my area. So, the app is kind of useless now, I think. Please fix, because I really liked it otherwise!!

Okay, but needs work.. The tracking earthquakes part works fine, if that's all you need. I tried taking the knowledge test, and it's buggy. The 'zone of fire' question is very frustrating in particular because the answer they give as correct is vague and unusable. I have not yet discovered how you're supposed to choose the correct answer, even after they give it to you. Other than that, I guess it's decent.

Great app. I like that it teaches you to be prepared and how to help you learn first aid. You will be well prepared to help your neighbors until the first responds get there. Which helps the first responds since you will be able to have the needed information ready for them. Plus having the person calm and not feeling alone in their and yours time of need.

Adjust notifications. The app is ok - does what is needed. I wish there was a way to adjust when it sends me notifications. I live in Washington state where there are many earthquakes - often several a day. I don't need to know about earthquakes that measure 0.4, 0.6 on the scale. I think Seahawks fans can make bigger earthquakes than those! Would be great if I could adjust it to alert me only when earthquakes happen that are over 3 on the scale.

CAgirl. Good start to being prepared! Informative.... Helps stimulate ideas of ur own with suggestions. Problem I've had so far is that the App gets stuck on the "add contacts" page and there is no way to go back unless you shut down ur device!! Pain in the ***! Not even clicking out of App and opening it up will fix it!! So if your going to add contacts wait till you have done everything else!! Otherwise, I like it so far!!

nice app but crashes if there is no internet access. I like this app but it crashes on my ipod touch 5th gen with latest updates if there is no internet access to pull data from the website which makes the flashlight option a little useless. If the power is out so is the internet. The only addition I would like to see is a timestamp added to the circles on the map page.

Great in concept. Needs an update to fix bugs. I like what this app is supposed to do. Unfortunately, it does not execute it well. I have set my alerts to earthquakes within 150 Miles from home and a magnitude of 3.5 or higher. The app does not keep my settings. This app seems to have been forgotten. There hasn't been a update since December 2012. Please update to fix the bugs.

Great App. This is a great app to have. I'm from California but live in another state. This is a great way for me to know what's going on in Cali and my family that still live there. I also like this app because you can set it for more then 1 place, shows open shelters if its a bad one and teaches people about earthquakes.

Good app but.... Let the user choose the magnitude setting and distance. The location services feature should not display the location arrow icon when the app is not in use, it just makes the user uncomfortable. When opening app, default to the map view (standard view). Hide the menu options to maximize map display area. Tapping the screen once (when not tapping on a pin) should display / hide the menu options. Keep up the great work :)

Fair. I have dropped my rating to 1 star. I have everything set correctly but I don't receive badge notifications anymore. Seems the developers have gone backwards for improving the app. If I have my radius and magnitude set it notifies me which is great. But there are a few problems since the update. It use to let me see details if I clicked on the alert but doesn't now. Also, it would show on the map where the epicenter was. Now it just shows the map of my monitored location. It would be nice if the app synced monitored locations and notification settings. As it exist now I have to set up each device individually. Fix these issues and I'll give 5 stars.

Good app, but disappointed.. The preparedness info is great. The alerts are useful. This makes the app worthwhile. Unfortunately, I asked my son, who is away at college, to put this app on his phone so we could both use the "I'm safe" feature. Red Cross does not make this app for windows phones, so he cannot use it. That was a true disappointment. Also, the global data is wrong or not up to date. It didn't include the earthquake we just had in our area. This is not a huge deal since it gave me an alert of our local info, but it would be nice to have this working. It makes me wonder what else isn't functioning.

Great app!. Thank you so much for this app. Very useful info on safety. We have been having so many earthquakes here in SoCal in the past 2 days and this app keeps me updated on all the aftershocks. All the mapped info on where the quakes are and where to find shelter makes me feel better prepared.

Settings??. I like the app. I'd give it 5 stars and share it with everyone I know if you would give us access to two settings. I'd like to have the distances in miles, not km's. I'd also like to either reduce the radius distance to 100 miles or scale the richter setting to 4.0+ within a 100 mile radius and 3.0 to 3.9 from 100 to 250 miles. 3's are pretty common in SoCal where I live and we don't feel them unless they are within about 100 miles or close enough to the surface a little farther away. It would be nice to arrange the push notifications to my personal needs. It's a great APP for free, willing to pay $0.99 for some setting's manipulations.

Excellent apps. This is a fabulous app. Everyone with a smart phone should have all Red Cross emergency apps. I can use it for an actual emergency but just as importantly I can do self checks to keep myself familiar with each type emergency. Another use is as a checklist to insure you have the necessary emergency supples available. Thanks American Red Cross!

Great app. Excellent app. The earthquake notifier is excellent. The slider bars are a little tricky to use to pick the specific figure you want but usually you can get 'close enough". This tool has taught me a great deal about earthquake readiness and was the first place I turned after the 6.9 magnitude quake on March 9, 2014. If you live anywhere prone to EQ's you need this app!

Super Dependable. With family living in San Fran, this app will always let me know asap whenever there's an earth quake. It's essential if you (or if you have loved ones) live in earthquake prone areas. It will automatically keep you up to date and in case of an emergency tell you where to go or where the nearest shelter are.

Earthquake planning, alerts, follow-up. Whether it's planning prior to an earthquake, being alerted to quakes near you or your family, or having a post-earthquake checklist, this app is really helpful. It seems to keep getting better. I like the new(er) "I'm okay" message/social media post feature that gives you a quick way to contact your pre-established emergency list.

Great App!. Full of information and will teach you everything you need to know to be prepared to keep yourself and your family safe during an earthquake. Complete with checklists, links, and south more. App even has flashlight, strobe light and alarm siren functions. Can send out a mass text of your choice letting family know you're safe with the touch of a button. What more could one ask for??

Important app that crashes a lot. It's a five star app in terms of being an important app to have for those in an earthquake zone. But for quality, I could only muster up 3 stars (and that's being generous). Just tried to use the app after a main shock last week and some continuing aftershocks through today and it frequently crashes just by launching it. Not cool. Additionally, that whole bit in the description about being able to query and map 40 years of earthquake history is either really, really hard to find, or it's only available within a single question in the quiz. Weird.

Good app, customer service. This app works very well. A month or so ago I had a problem where the sensitivity slider was resetting itself. When I wrote to customer service they were very responsive, and the problem was corrected quickly with a subsequent update. I have an elderly mother who lives in another part of California, and I can configure the app to alert me to earthquakes near her. I also have the RC flood app, and it works well too.

Excellent- It notified me while the ground shook. When the ground shakes, it's important to be informed immediately. I got fast and accurate information in seconds, while the ground was still shaking. This is important in case you have to worry about a Tsunami. The app also helped to educate everyone.

Amazing. App is amazing and very informative and has very high accuracy in terms of the information it contains. As a current disaster service worker and amateur radio operator for the Walnut Creek(California)CERT team(Community Emergency Response Team) I would highly recommend this app to everyone in the United States regardless of the likelihood of earthquakes in your area of work and housing because it is a horrible feeling to have a catastrophic event happen and not be able to help yourself not to mention help others who may need help. I chose to protect my community instead of playing sports in high school because I would hope that others would do the same for me if a disaster occurred.

Tornadoes; now earthquakes. Didn't have a clue until we felt the first one last fall. Now I know that it is a lot like preparing for twisters but with some important differences and having a list helps besides the up to date lists of which part of the state has been on the move.

Alaska Eartquakes. The only reason I am not giving this App a 5 is because they slow in sending out their notifications. It takes about 10 minutes to be notified where the Epicenter of an earthquake originated, where as, the Quakefeed app is instant notification. 10 minutes is too long to know what direction a person needs to go to in an emergency.

Good but could be better. I love this app. But you could be so much better! I have my settings set to notify me constantly but sometimes it doesn't notify me even when I feel the earthquake and I wait and wait and wait and the app never even acknowledged that there was one in my area . In fact we just had one 10 minutes ago and the app still hasn't notified me. Please fix this!

Red Cross earthquake. Terrible app

Good alerts, outdated prep info. Alerts, safe & well, etc those are nice and make the app valuable. But as a preparedness professional I vigorously disagree with the 3 day recommendation for water, especially in Southern California. Prep professionals have been preaching 7-10 days and preferably more like 14 for a long time. With all our infrastructure crossing the San Andreas, 3 days worth was deemed inadequate several years ago. And where is the alternative drop, cover, hold on info for people with disabilities access & functional needs????

Great App for Alerts. I have family in 5 states, and I travel a lot. I like the ability to have a warning and take action; we may not be listening to a TV station at the time. The Alerts allow me a "heads up", and I can tune in to local news. This App provides great information for those of us who are not Scientists. Thanks Red Cross for being there.

Must have app, but doesn't get all quakes. I really enjoy this app. I got it right after experiencing a 5.7. Soon after it started notifying me of aftershocks. However, it didn't get show an earthquake that another app showed. On other quakes, both apps showed simultaneous notifications. It is a must have for sure and is very informational but still needs to be refined and tweaked a bit.

Doesn't do it. This app just isn't up to par anymore. This was the best earthquake app bar none than any other that the App Store has to offer. Please go back to the old version , it was just fine with me. What were you people thing. This update doesn't even notify me of an upcoming quake even executing the notifications settings on my iPhone. Good things never last long. I know how long I will keep this one till I delete it for ever. Sorry

Best family of apps. I love this family of apps. I am in college to learn to be an emergency manager. I learned about the apps in a class. I used the tornado one last summer when I was down by Kansas City for 6 weeks. It would send me alerts about storms. I like the way you can notify everyone on facebook or other social media that after an event "I am safe". The "develop a plan" can walk you through everything you need to do to prepare for a disaster.

Great app!. Considering that i live in California and we have been having quite a few earthquakes i downloaded this app and tried it out and its been really helpful and gives you live earthquakes within your area live time which is really cool and it also informs you on what to do and what not to do during earth quakes and even test you which is really good for those who dont know so i highly recommend this app :)

Great App. Very Useful. I like this app. I programmed it with family addresses in other city's and other states. As well as the address of my house and my job. Anytime there is an earthquake at any of those locations this app notifies me. And since I live in Oklahoma, the app is always going off because there is an earthquake just about once a day. Very good app, it does what it says and I like it.

Important and fun. Even though the questions on the test to earn badges are a bit klunky, it's purpose is served by getting the user to focus on preparation. Earning the badges was a fun family exercise as we texted one another our progress in a small competition. The shelter portion could be improved, assuming that there are more shelters than appear. All-in-all, a great app. Now, we need to get some preparedness kits up to speed.

Lacking the last few months. Used to be a great app. My favorite was that there were verbal earthquake alerts; that has since disappeared. Also, he last few months, my radius resets to 0, even after saving, so I get zero alerts. There are definitely some bugs that need fixed. Now when trying to adjust my radius the app crashes. I've deleted and reinstalled hoping something will be fixed. Either way, they need to take it back to how it was last year.

Great for the family. Sure we don't have the number of quakes other places have, but we are due for a huge one at any time here in Salt Lake and we focus once in a while when it's preparedness week and then we forget again. Last week we had one that my kids finally felt, small 3.2, but the floors were waving since the center was within a few miles. If that is what a 3.2 is like, I don't want to imagine or experience the big one coming. It was a wake up call and a reminder that we aren't ready and we need to be. That 3.2 was nothing, but it scared the kids in a good way. Thanks for this app ARC, a lot of knowledge and helpful info to get us going to be prepared.

Nice app learn a lot.. There's only one thing I wish you would add to this app. I know you have history. If there already is I can't find it but this app needs a button that says map. What it would do is open the world map and it would have dots showing all the earthquakes that's ever happened around the world. From their you could click it and possibly link it to a site or something where you can view pics and news story's from that area of the time it happened. You could do this for the tornado app and the others also.

The idea was great.... Very glitchy and crashes often. Let's me add several locations then when I exit the app and come back I click on any of the locations and it doesn't fully load them...picture changes to generic clouds on all and mile radius is at 0 and when you click to change any of those settings, the app crashes. The only time I can change the radius is right after I create a new location. It won't remember radius setting I put in though if I leave the app. I decided to do a reinstall of the app and that only made it worse. Same issues plus now when trying to select "Current Location" it says "error bad request" like I said it was a great idea, but their app developer needs to give this project more attention.

VERY Good With Some Room For Improvement. We downloaded four EQ apps and kept this one for several reasons. Unlike competition, this app has settings that allow us to receive push notifications AND allows us to turn that battery killing locations services OFF. You can set a mile radius for the area you want to monitor instead. This was sheer genius. This feature also allows loved ones in different states to use this app to monitor our location and receive alerts although they are 3300 miles away from our location. No other EQ app allows this. Again, sheer genius. App's EA list also allows us to see just our area, Southern California, we don't have to sift through an EQ list of the entire world-very annoying features that is on all competitor's apps. Lots of additional Red Cross 411 and we have NEVER received a push notification repeatedly bugging us to pay for an upgrade. Competition does this and they use the same ding for an EQ alert that they use for the solicitation. Ya, you made us look, but you also annoyed us enough to delete your app and keep this one. Another plus, this app is available on both iPhone and iPad. As of the writing all competitors were not. We do not have to learn the nuances of two apps, just one. Down side, earthquake map does not show pins of current earthquake locations, just the map area itself. This would be very helpful to change. Overall, this is a very, very good app.

FAILS STILL. UNUSABLE—it FAILS to load my alerts. It does NOT work. iphone 6SE on iOS 12.1

Is not working. I have always liked this app until April 4, 2015 when I received an alert banner for a 4.2 EQ in Logan county. That was it. That alert was never put on app nor any other since then! I have iPhone 5. Never happened before. A lot of quakes were recorded that morning. They were all there until the 4.2. I felt it in tulsa. Somewhere around 8:30 AM. I have all settings correct. Rest of app seems ok. Just no alerts anymore. It's almost like we are being kept in dark. They ARE GETTING BIGGER and more often. I did find it on Internet using my PC.

Poor information. The Red Cross has appeared to lose sight of their idea and mission, they appear to be more interested in selling other Red Cross Apps then giving current accurate information. The planning information is not even basic, no go bag ideas. The shelters are a joke, all of the northeast United States is supposed to go to a high school in Philadelphia? The only info up to date is the donate page. The app is lacking the basic planning and preparation information. No set designate Red Cross rally points. The shelters should at least be linked to local O.E.M. Sites, better would be in app stored locations. So if the Internet is down people know where to go. Much room and need for improvement.

Must have. After all the recent events that I have seen and been through. I decide to download this app not only for my family here in NJ, also for my to know the status of family in other states and country like Dominican Republic. Thanks please continue with the updates!

No Longer Works Properly. I've had this app for awhile and it no longer monitors the proper locations. It will tell me the epicenter of an earthquake is 20 miles away when I know for a fact that area is well over 70 miles away. A quake woke me this morning, which is unusual, and the alert never went off. Still don't know where it was or how big. Time to download a different app. I really hope the Tornado app doesn't start behaving the same way.

Useful and informative. Have only been using this app for less than a week but it has been useful in tracking Hurricane Sandy and how it is affecting my relatives on the east coast. Needs more extensive coverage of non US shelters and needs to be more tied into Caribbean Disaster Management Agencies seeing as though the Red Cross has such a global reach and US citizens travel so much to the Caribbean, a hurricane hotbed.

App Limitations. This app would offer valuable information if it included the two following aspects: 1. Show the magnitude of each quake. 2. Be able to set a preference size of the quake magnitude desired to be notified of. For example, the app would be much more valuable to me if it alerted me of all quakes over 6.0 rather than 25 quakes each day, alerting me every 15 minutes, of quakes having a 1.5 magnitude. Thank you.

Alerts. There was just an earthquake in LA. I'm sitting here staring at the app to get information about it and it doesn't show anything! On the other hand, this app bugs the hell out of me going off when there are apps in other locations all the time. I've checked all my settings and I'm only monitoring my current location, so I don't have it set up incorrectly, but to make it more frustrating, the help section of the app just confirms whether or not it's set up correctly! So there's nothing to be done!
