Good start. Great product. Fairly easy to use. It will make building scout cards a much easier process. This app will become very functional with a few more updates. A note feature or the ability to write text on the plays would be a huge help and much more effective than the zone coverage tool. You should also have the ability to move and adjust the position names on both sides of the ball and show motions etc. The ability to change player sizes and to zoom would be a huge help also.

USOENT. So far so good. I purchased the pro version and am hoping that this is just a one time fee? I put the app on my iPad nice! Do I have to pay another fee to import to my iPhone? I hope not .Still early, I am learning and like this app so far. Thanks

Question. Do I only have the choice of 3 offensive play formations with the Pro membership? I’m looking for more shotgun/spread style formations.

Portability. They need to figure out a way to allow tackle football playmaker pro and play maker to communicate playbooks between one another. Printing out wristbands on tackle football playmaker pro is much better and easier for the players to read. An eight play wristband is easily readable on tackle football playmaker pro versus the super tiny eight play wristband off of Playmaker X.

Works well on mobile. This device works well on my iPad and phone, it does not have a app for Mac and cannot do anything from website. I bought the pro because it said it was available on all iOS. Not the case.

Great for younger player. This is a great app. I was able to create our 42 play play book in one morning against a 4-4 defense and then re-create it using the copy play book function against a 5-3 defense by that evening. Very good to distribute and show the kids their blocking assignments and running assignments as well as patterns. The flip and duplicate function needs a bit of work. We run a basic Delaware / wing pro 3 back set. When you flip and duplicate, it flips the position numbers, which you then need to correct. The quarterback function needs some work. Would like the ability to add a 'fake' designation to this runner and then add a further blocking or other assignment to the quarterback once a hand off is made. Or a hand off here, and then continue with the fake type of diagram. Would like to see the ability to utilize the basic iPad function to pinch and zoom in/out like a photo. Would also like to see the ability to select a basic reach left/right block and a basic drive left/right blocking assignment for linemen. Also would be helpful when setting up offense or defense formation templates to set up against the corresponding offense or defense to insure proper gap alignment. Overall this is a great app. One of the best features is to use Apple TV / iPad mirroring to show / quiz kids or have chalk talk on the big screen TV.

Almost Five!!!!!!!!. Would have given it a 5 if I was able to copy and paste or drag play from one formation to the next! At this time this is my only issue. Please consider to add feature to have play in multiple formations. I will re-write review and give it a 5!!!! Thanks also maybe give the option to have 2 columns of plays on wrist band. Great Idea and very useful coaching app. My one complaint is where are the FAQ and help sections? I cant figure out how to add to the formation template to get my own formations going. I can edit a current formation but haven't figured out how to add more than the 3 templates. Im hoping there is a way to do that and I just haven't figured it out yet. Otherwise its the smartphone playbook app of choice for me.

Good for beginners. Like the simplicity of the app. Wish you can add option when designing a single route (play diagram). Besides that it’s a good app.

Great App. I would give this a 5 stars but can’t mark defensive hot reads (hand off key, pitch or pass key) when making offensive plays for triple option or RPOs. Other than that a easy app to use.

Watermark and inability to format play sheets. App is simple, I have the pro version but the watermark takes up valuable space and the call sheets don’t have enough options (such as what color) for each category.

High school head coach. I’ve used this app for several years. We play 8 man and it works great for playbooks, and wrist coaches.

Can you add more play then 9???. Good app I really like it but can you add more then 9 plays per sheet?? Like 20 a sheet would be perfect!!

I love this! - one complaint might be me though. I have a full 60 play playbook set up (9-10 age group). Everything looks perfect! However I cannot get my playbook or QB wrist bands to print in the correct order.

Great, but how do you put players in motion?. I have no idea how to put players in motion, and is there a play button where I can see the place unfold and see where the players move? I would like these options

More Flexibilty. I'm rating this a 4 star instead of 5, based on the limitations of the app. The exporting of the playbook to the wrist coach is easy, there are limitations! For example, the section of eliminating individual plays and the amount of plays that will fit on a sheet. Looking for mor flexibility and control to customize the wrist coach look. And the addition of a call sheet would be nice, where you can organize plays by situations and formations. These additions would make this a 5 star for me!

Could be 5 stars if.... I really like this app. Very user friendly. I would give it 5 stars but you only have the choice of 3 formations. You can move the players around to make your own formations but you can’t rename it.

Great Football app with great support staff!. Had a issue with creating new formations that was quickly fixed less then 48 hours after notifying them.

Great App and Exceptional Support. The app by far is better than any i've tried over the last 5 years. Even better than the app was the support I received from True, specifically Jeremy after sending an email to the support address to discuss an enhancement. Price. This playmaker is GREAT! But they should make the price torwards like $15 bucks but other than that

Ok but bad transition to new app. I purchased Playmaker Pro. Great app for making plays but confusing how to access from computer. Tried to access from my laptop it sends me to The new Playmaker X and then forces me to pay again.

Meh. Worked great but I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong but I’ve purchased the pro and cannot access my account or even sign in on my phone I should be able to open a purchased app on any device without having to purchase a second time

Nice, but could be better! See suggested additions below.... Needed additions: 1. Category for Special Teams (kick off, kick return, PAT, punt and punt return). 2. Ability to move the line of scrimmage up or down. 3. Ability to resize the circles used for the positions. This would allow the field to appear bigger. This feature should allow for all the circles to be resized simultaneously. 4. In the Defensive Category, there needs to be the ability to draw the lines and arrows for the defensive line just like the other positions to show gap responsibility or for D-line stunts. 5. Add a copy-paste feature or the ability to swap the plays in the opposite direction and save it as a new play with a new name. 6. Possible animation to allow positions to see who runs through holes to make certain blocks first, as well as WR when doing crossing routes. Once these modifications are made this would truly take this app to another level! I believe this is a great start but could be made better especially for what it cost! Please take these suggestions into consideration and try to make the improvements before this coming 2013 football season (July 2013 pre-season training)! Thanks.

Wonderful game. I really like this game because you don’t have the pay to play it. It’s also just as good or even better than playmaker X. The mechanics are very good, the only thing that I wish was different was the the field was a little bit bigger. But overall this game is AWESOME! ❤️😍😊

Great!. Love this app. It make clean professional looking playbooks that can easily be put on wrist rockets as well. I got a few responses back by email when I had a question within a day! They were friendly and helpful. I wanted to copy certain plays from different playbooks, to create a playbook from successful plays from other season. It may be in a future update. Can't wait. Keep up the great work.

View. I just wanna view a play book from my coach but I gotta pay? Seems unfair

Must for football coaches!. This app has everything a football coach needs to develop playbooks and more. Easy to use, customizable, and easy to share with your staff and players. We’ve been using this app for a few years now and we haven’t looked back. Customer support is very quick to respond to any questions!

Love the app BUT.... Some people organize their stuff differently than others, which is sort of a the only problem. Unless I'm not fully educated on the app, the organization features could be better. It's great for just jotting down random plays and such but could be better when it comes to its use of creating an entire system. It would be much better if the formations category was just for creating and saving formations alone. And then since they are saved, when you go to make a play, you can just select the saved formation you'd like to make the play with. This would be so that you can draw the same play out of many different formations in one category. Maybe you can do it like this already and I'm not doing it right, but the whole reason for the long explanation is I'd try to do this but the plays get mixed in with other categories where they're not supposed to be, creating a lot of disorganization. If it wasn't for this I'd give it five stars but I still like the app so I'll give it four.

Defense. Can you put the defense out there with the offense on the pro version? Doesn’t seem to be available on the regular version. I need my kids to know who they are blocking and attacking.

Well worth every penny!!!. This app has been the answer to my dreams. With its ease of use I can design, alter, and print my entire play book in a very professional design. Only thing that would make it better, is if they had a library of existing plays. Maybe sell as an add-on "play packs" that are divided up by formations. I design my own plays, however if I was playing a team twice in a season I might want to find a quick way to show a second look by changing formations.

Great app!!! but??. This is a great app!!! The grouping of plays by category and formation is awesome. It is super user friendly. It is a great tool for creating a playbook for the offense. The three down falls I see so far are the inability to edit the format at wihich you would like to share your play book, ei format for single page viewing of plays vs multi viewing of plays. I would say they need an edit option to organize your whole playbook to share to the team or print directly from PDF. Also giving the defensive formation editing an offense to align with would be super helpful, even showing one formation would save tons of time when creating formations, ie put an right formation up there so base alignments can be made and not have to be adjusted on the play creation level. Another small bug would be the app cancels when you try to add personal to your roster. But it is a very useful tool overall

Love this app just one thing missing. I wished it had a WR ROUTE TREE maker inside of the app. I have recommended this app to at least 10 coaches. If anyone has did a make shift route tree using this app let me know how. Also how do I make the QB wrist coach

Great App. I have used this and the basketball app for years. But this one I have used EVERY season. I love the options for printing playbooks and writs bands. Also, I had a question for support and they responded within an hour or so with a step by step answer to my question. Fantastic support!

Quick, Customizable, Intuitive. Great app for making playbooks! Been using it for multiple seasons for creating our playbook and scout playbooks for each team we play throughout the season. Very happy with the app! My feedback to the developer would be to make field graphic scale able to get better representation of splits and field/boundary position, add a route tree option, and create a print option that’s keeps the play notes with the play rather than grouped at the end of the book. Overall this is the best app I’ve found out there!

One of the best playbook apps out their. The ease of use is outstanding. Duplicating and flipping plays lets you crank through the tedious task of creating an in depth play book. Really great app. It's a great app and I love using it but I'm going to hold that fifth star hostage. When I choose a different color symbol it would be nice if the route lines were also that color or if there was a selection for line color. The second thing that I would add would be a field that represents 30 -40yards of playable field 10 for the back field and 20-30 for route running or defensive schemes.

Has great potential. This app has great potential and is by far the best playmaker product on iPad. It has beautiful imagery and functionality is well thought out and flows well. As for the minor improvements I would like the ability to zoom in and out on a play. It makes alignment easier and gives me more room for pass plays and zone defenses. On the defensive side of the playmaker you should allow half color option available on the offensive lineman so that defensive line alignments can be emphasized. The ability to make category sub folders would be extremely useful within this app. And finally a special teams playmaker function would be much appreciated. That's something no other playmaker has at this time. Again this app has great potential it's already better than most on the market on all platforms.

Absolutely a must for coaches. Coaching professional arena football 8v8, and minor league outdoor football regular 11man, this app let’s me adjust between both leagues instantly and my players love it more. The visuals alone let us adapt on the fly. Thanks developers.

Good app could be a bit better. Great professional looking app both on screen and on paper. Easy to use. Love the ability to share with other iPads. Two things could make it better. First the relative size of the player markers to the field layout is very poor. Diagraming a play is very difficult especially in the backfield. To little space. If you spread out the backfield then the fullback looks to be 7 yards from the line. And tailback ten to twelve. I really want to use this app this season but the players will not be able to see the relationships of space on the screen or printouts. Second I would like to copy plays to other formations but will only let you copy in the same formation.

Great APP for creating Football Plays. Using this app to create our 4/5th grade plays and to distribute to the coaches. Would like to get the kids inside for some chalk talk to help explain more about positioning. Needs some add functions, such as carrying out fakes for the QBs and RBs useful for setting up plays. Passing options for checking off priority receivers...look at 1, 2, 3, and 4. Likely never get to 3 or 4 at this level but is go to know for growth years. Overall, great app. Beats the heck out of hand drawings, Excel, Word, or any other program I have attempted to use. Job Well Done Developers!

Great app!. Works great for our youth football league. I’d love to see a way to draw on the play... I’d like to be able to freeform draw certain scenarios on a play tile...

Cluster. If an update would allow the assignment lines to change color, or be assigned the same color as the position circle, (similar to changing the color of the position) that would greatly improve the ability to see the assignment and grasp the concept of plays. Specifically in the case of pulling guard and tackle plays. Also, maybe a button that will highlight an individual position's blocking assignment ( or black out all other positions except any one specific position) or route after the play design is complete to help show players their role in the play design.

Great app. As a coach it’s really easy to draw plays and communicate them to my team easily. The wrist band feature is great also. I would love to have a “Game Day’ option where I could keep track of subs, timeouts, score and other necessary things quickly.

Trying to recover an old playbook. I’ve been off the app for almost two years, and upon logging in I’ve totally forgot the passcode to my playbook. Is there any way to recover it??

Nice little program. Ok it's not perfect but for $20 it's pretty darned nice. Definitely better than the hundreds or thousands some programs spend on these programs. It takes a little bit to figure out the details of the program, but once you do, your play design is pretty quick and smooth. I've coached for 13 years and this is my favorite program I've worked with. I recommend it.

Great value. For $20 you can do just as much if not more than a much more higher priced playbook features of hudl and others. Once you understand the nuances you can make a play very fast and efficiently.

Support. These are the sort of people that give other app folks a bad name. If these guys were a college team they would be "the program”, Walsh’s 49ers, "the U" Lou Holtz’s Irish, Bryant’s and Saban’s Bama, and John Robinson’s&Pete’s Trojans. They are on top of it with support and they know their roles. It’s football people, Simplicity at its finest.

Awesome app but can't use. As a defensive coordinator, I need to not only draw up a play but WRITE down responsibilities and alignments. I would use this tool if it were possible to somehow add text to describe players responsibilities and/or alignment. Please add this function and I would buy the full version for sure!

Great support. I've had this app for two years. I coach peewee and Bantam. This tool is been more than enough to help us win some championships.

Bronco coach. It's a really good app, the only thing I would want is the ability to attach a description for defensive assignments.

Playmaker Flag and Tackle App. I am a fan of this app. In my experience it is easy to use and produced 8 X 11 sheets for my playbook and also wrist cards for our wrist quarterbacks. I had a little problem when my league moved to 9 man flag but they helped me easily and effectively when I contacted them directly.

Potential. Great app, missing special team features and total movement of formations up and down the field? Not sure if it is possible but adding animation would be amazing...

Good for play books but not wrist plays. For the price it is pretty limiting. Especially when trying to print. Should be able to print directly from the app not have to get an email first. Should be able to change font size or at least limit the number of sheets the wrist names is printing to. As it is you are limited to 30 plays maximum as most wrist play books only have 3 spots for plays. I do like the ability to create plays and produce a playbook. That chore is made easy with this product. I just feel the cost doesn't give you full effective functionality.

Great app. Perfect for youth football. Love this app. This is my 3rd year using it. Highly recommend to new and experienced coaches. Very easy to create, organize and share play books. Works for offense and defense. I also use it to create opponents play books for scout team. Worth the money for the full release.

Great but not Perfect. This app could seriously be the greatest thing IF: 1) The notes for the plays were visible in the email so we could outline what each position did on each play 2) We could make option routes instead of just single routes. I can't yet justify the money for the Pro version because I'm hoping that I'll find an app that will do everything I want.

Must have. Very useful app. You can see things like never before - faster. Only thing it needs is an 8.5x11 list of plays to compliment wrist cards. They forgot the coaches list!

Perfect. This app is perfect for anyone who wants to organize their playbook.

A few good additions. I would like to see the ability to change the color of the lines as well as add notes to plays. I also agree with the other reviews about the ability to resize the field and special teams. However, I have already abandoned my other apps for this one. It is better. One other good addition would be the ability to add multiple lines to one player.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!. I have 4 or 5 other Football apps. , but none compare to the Tackle Football Playmaker App. It's so easy to use that it's a No Brainer. Get the Pro Version, it's absolutely worth it. -Completely Satisfied Coach.

Good App, needs some upgrades!. This app lacks a variety of defensive formations. You can't re-label defensive positions if you need to move players around. Play animation would also be nice.

Best so far. Best app I have found so far for creating my rocket football teams playbook and roster. A couple things need to be done to get a 5 star rating from me though: 1. More line types and secondary task abilities to assign to positions 2. Animation. A way to be able to show where people are moving during the play - competitor apps have this feature 3. Depth chart functions 4. Ability to share rosters and depth charts separately from the play book 5. The ability to give scout defense assignments on offensive plays and vice versa (could be something that at the very least be integrated if no animations features can happen) 6.i will edit when I have more time to add to this list

As advertised. The ease of use and options offered are excellent.

Good but needs update. It's a pretty awesome app. Undoubtedly geared to youth football. The big annoyance I have is that I want to print plays with the players names on the positions. It would really helpful to send PDF plays to players with their names. Also needs ability to remove a name altogether from a play. looks like updates don't happen very often though..

Playmaker Pro. This is a great coaching app that is extremely useful and easy to use. I would like to see the ability to make formations (offense and defense) and be able to use them throughout all my playbooks.

Fantastic. I've never been able to create my playbook so fast. Easy and fun to use.

Crashes often and loses work. Disappointing.. This app shows promise but constantly crashes, often losing 15 minutes of work and design. Very frustrating. I expect more from an app I paid $20 for.

Looses plays. I have designed all my plays multiple times and they keep disappearing after about a week or so. This is very disappointing to spend this much time and continue to loose your work especially after paying $20 for this app.

Best App, but Needs Improvement. I absolutely love this app. It's by far the best playmaking app that I have used. There is one thing that it desperately needs: support for option routes. High school football is becoming more and more advanced, so we need the ability to draw multiple routes on one player. If this app adds it, it is 5 stars in my book and I would recommend it to all the coaches in my area.

Jffj. I love the app, but now all of a sudden with the update I can't send PDF emails and apparently I'm not the only one. Better fix this quick, it's football season. I need to be able to print these plays out.

Great App. This is a great app that is easy to use. It is going to cut down on the amount of time it takes to script and organize the competition.

Very pretty but not complete. Cannot do special teams. A third of a football team's system. Until that is addressed, the app is pretty but not very functional..

Have to get it. I love this app it is a great way to make play books for players and coaches and to have the wrist band names makes it easy for my staff and I to have our QB ready for any situation that may present it self

Printing options. This is a good app but if I am going to take the time to write what each player does on each play, I would like for it to pring the notes off too. Can we please get that done?

Almost 5 stars. Nice app! Only 2 complaints. 1) when creating a new defensive formation, it's impossible to align players correctly w/o at least an offensive line in front. 2) It would be helpful to have additional lines for defense (dotted line to show man coverage, zig zag to show movement). Besides those things, it's a very helpful app.

There are people out the coaching without this?. If you are you're crazy. This app super simple and efficient to use. The support is very eager to answer questions and they interact with users via Facebook too.

Amazing App for coaching youth football. This app has increased our efficiency at least four times over. Being able to have the iPad on the field with the kids and let them see the plays is really helping them out. They really got to the point where they had them memorized even when we run so many plays. Great, great app.

Good App. Great for plays my issue is when I am setting my players for one play it adjust all my other players on my other plays also need special team set up and be able to move the players pass the line of scrimmage

Love it! But........ Why aren't the play names on the wrist playsheets?! I'm designing the wrist plays for my football team and I have to write all the play names in myself? I thought I paid $20 so that the plays would look great without me having to add pen marks on the sheet? Can you please make it to where the play names are at the bottom of each play like it shows up on the home page where you first open the play book? Thanks(:

Great Teaching Tool for Young Players. Thank you so much for developing such a fantastic tool! My young players really get it and it keeps me from having to use Visio - what was very time consuming. 😋 My wish list: 1. Allow user to move line of scrimmage for more space in backfield (maybe even reduce size of position icons) 2. In PDF export, can you fix plays with names? Names are misplaced 3. In PDF export, can you allow notes to be viewed on their individual play pages rather than at the end? Would help young players keep information together I absolutely love this app!!!

App is solid but would like an update. Really like the app but lately it has been crashing a lot. In addition, I would like the notes/coaching points to be right below the play when you print the plays. At present the coaching points are printed after the plays.

Fantastic. I ordered this app and was having trouble downloading a playbook from another coach. With a little help from the service staff the problem was shortly fixed. Not only is the app top notch but the personnel are as well. Great work!

Does not Email. Good app as I am able to input all my plays and even defensive schemes however I am not able to email to print out my playbook. Very disappointed as that was one reason I purchased the PRO version.

Email problems. This was a 4 until the update I am running out of time to print off the wrist playbook. Please fix this ASAP . If they fix the email problem it's a 4 until then its a 1 or less. What good is this app if you can't email the plays so you can print them off

Great App. Very helpful as we get ready for the fall. One addition would be helpful . . . Provide the opportunity to copy the entire playbook. This would allow for specific week game planning without having to duplicate plays.

Best Football Playbook. This is the best on the market and I have tried them all. I would like to see more space in the backfield. It's hard to draw up reverses and boots b/c you can only work 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Hd Coach. Doesn't send PDF through email. Should be able to save to iCloud, Dropbox, or any other file hosting service for easy access.

Decent app for youth football. The app is pretty easy to use and does a good job. The major downside is that it's ONLY available on IPad and not on your IPhone. This makes things more difficult to add or change things on the fly at practice because I don't want to carry my IPad on the football field.

Subs. I’ve been waiting for this new mass subs feature for a long time. Still the best play drawing app and they keep making it better.

Best app for Coaches out there. All coaches should use this app! Plays, formations, concepts, etc all easily stored/organized/presented.

Awesome for making plays, but.... It is a great app, awesome for making plays. I was having a lot of fun making plays. Then when I went to make my 4th play ( keep in mind I'm ten) I had to pay $20 dallors to make another. I was really frustrated by this and deleted the app

Wow!!!!!!. The email function was down since the update... I was frustrated, and caved in and called. The staff, was off the charts helpful. EXCELLENT APP. Exactly what I needed! Ie been using another app to draw formations, then another app to draw assignments, then export to edit on my desktop to create PDFs. Duplicate and flip is genius! One thing I can't figure out is how to reassign the formation when I duplicate and flip. Split right just became Split left and I'd like to organize ;) Well worth the $20. So pleased that I'm buying it for the other coaches. I second the request for color choice on the lines for the different positions ;)

EZ to Use, Great Tech support. Great product, intuitive. These guys were really responsive to questions I had even before I bought the product! They were even responsive to feedback I had for improvements. Although a tackle product, this version is better suited to diagramming wildcat plays. Met my needs. Looking forward to next versions.

Great App. Better than the rest. Used for 2 years and set up systems for 2 age levels. Multiple formations with grouped playbook.

Great. Really like the play maker software. Would like option of adding colors to the lines blast and power plays look cluttered with the lines all crossing. Would also like an area to write individual rules for each position. This is still by far the best play maker for a tablet device, I've tried a lot of them.

Extremely useful APP!. Thank you for the update to include the play notes in the PDF file, but there is still room for improvement. I would like to see an option for colored play routes in the play book.
