Need to pay $20/ month to see live reports. Like the title says, you need to have a Pro level subscription $10 per month (year contract) or $20 per month to see accurate reports at your favorite spots. You may get lucky and have a free station somewhat nearby. Maybe. Didn’t use the forecasting (need to pay for it), classifieds are helpful but Craigslist can narrow down the sale area a little better. Not a bad app. It does a lot, IF you’re willing to shell out the dough for it

Excellent product. Excellent product, I definitely recommend the paid version as the extra detail is worth the $. 3km HRRR forecast works great at just about every location I’m at.

Essential water play information. Lot of options in the this app. Forecasts, live wind data, classifieds and great graphics. Lake Champlain has a history of complications with wind data from Colchester Reef. iKitesurf has you covered.

You need this app. If you are involved in any water sports, or around water or even just want to know what your local weather conditions are, you need this app. If you are a kitesurfer or surfer of any kind, you need this app. Seamless, accurate and game changing would be a few words I would use to describe this app. I’m on it checking out wind and forecasts ten times a day so I don’t ever miss the opportunity to get on the water and kite!!

You must have this app if you do any water sport. I have been using iKitesurf for several year as a pro rider and pro coach. It has become my most important work tool. As a Kiteboarder you can get live wind readings. This new update brings you a really awesome feature : you can now post your own wind report and let everyone know what is the wind like we’re you are. You can also as comments to the post to let everyone know how crowded the spot is or anything you feel is important to share. Don’t wait download it and try it out !!!!

Love it. This is my go to app for wind forecast. I also use it while bow hunting. It's not my only source of data but the longer I use it The more irreplaceable it becomes!

Awesome App. Ive been using the app since 2015, it’s reliable and very easy to use with all the information you need, from basic wind info all the way to the technical nerdy info. The live map function is great.

Great tool for your kit. This is a solid app for forecasts and most of the time real wind conditions. The meter at our beach isn’t correct (points west when it’s blowing east, etc) but we work around it. Paying for the $3.99 version and it has the right amount of functionality. Used to have the 9.99 version and we never used it to full capacity.

Great app, best forecasts, one small bug. This is the app to use. The best forecasts, live readings, tide and current charts, all good. But I can’t add favorite spots. The app forgets them. So I have to scroll through a long list, maybe when I’m rushing out the door, to find the best place to go out

Superior convenience!!. Extremely time saving wind app! Quick to see my local favorite’s wind and to change to my current travel location. Displays not only the current wind speed but forecasts, weather, waves, temperature and more in a glance. The pro forecasts and private meters make the price worth the fees. But the free version isn’t bad either. I have tried many free apps and nooa and they all take many clicks to get as much information. Enjoy!

Worse. Don’t update they made it way worse they are trying to make you pay for it. this new version is crap. They just contacted me and asked me to change my review – – unbelievable… Just change it back to the way it was when it worked well and I’ll change my review. Otherwise I’m doubling down. This newest version is complete and total Crap. don’t update repeat don’t update!!!

Loving it- useful App! I use it nearly every day!. When the trees start to move by my house I need to know how windy it is on the water. With iKitesurf I check anytime and see if the wind is strong enough to play. This is one of the most useful apps I have on my iPhone!

Great app but with challenges. How it works in iOS versus desktop etc is still a mystery to me as is the inability to select your user name which makes having to re sign after a long time of auto signatures a challenge. That being said what it’s built to do in real life is great. The forecasts are usually excellent and have saved or served up a good session.

Why did you change it. My husband hauls lobster traps offshore in Maine and uses this weather app everyday up until you changed it. He has a hard time seeing the wind graph, especially the time and wind speed, we will be deleting this app 😞. To bad because he really liked it over all the other weather apps out there.

Spot-on forecasts. As a professional, open-water kayak instructor and guide we use this site daily. Most kiteboarders are looking for the wind but we are looking for the lulls for our teaching and guiding. KiteSurf gives me accurate forecast throughout the region that allows for travel-time to put our clients in optimal learning environments to achieve their desired paddling goals. Awesome resource !!. Top 10 favorite app ever. So well designed , functional, and beautiful … I don’t kitesurf but the wind and radar data make this app amazing for planning purposes - ie beach day , hide from wind etc… service is also great … when the radar was down fir a few weeks I emailed the developers dnd they fixed the issue . Well done iKitesurf !!!

Indispensable!. I couldn't survive without this app. It is incredibly accurate for my location in Maui. I check it multiple times a day, including at home when I'm deciding when to leave for the beach. And then again at the beach when I'm deciding what kite to pump up. I would LOVE a version for the Apple Watch!

Love the 3.0. The new update is great. The best part is the new Complete Report you get with your favorite weather stations. All he info is there at one click. Even the archive wind so you can compare yesterday’s fun session to today’s. Great idea and a great new installment.

Not amazing. Subscription is misleading and difficult to cancel or upgrade. I paid for the lower subscription and decided to upgrade. It’s unclear to me weather I have just paid twice. Also I can not figure out on the app how to unsubscribe from automatic payments. The weather stations sometimes helpful but many of them are hit or miss because they are in bad spots.

Requested review - Winter seasons reports are not to be trusted (non pro Forecast). Overall great app. Usability is easy, definitely does glitch from time to time. When the pro Forecast are not is season you definitely need to double check the Forecast in other models. Frequently have been seeing high wind reports with low models or vise Versa. When the Pro Forecast is happening there is definitely improvements on this. In the PNW they should add a 7am and 12pm update at least for us year round riders.

Doesn’t work with the new iOS 11.. The app is very well made and very helpful, however, after upgrading to the new iOS11, I cannot click on the weather stations on the map anymore. Upd: the authors are very responsive and fixed the app within a few days after Apple broke their API once again.

Keep getting locked out and now my station costs more. I signed up for the plus package because that was what was required to see my local weather station since then at least half the times I use the app it says that I need to sign up for a membership and then I just really have to re-login again, and again, and again. Now they have decided that I have to have the pro package to view my local weather station, even though it was included in the plus package when I signed up. So in summary it wasn’t working when I paid, and now they want me to pay a higher fee.

5 stars data, 0 star front end. ikitesurf have been for years the leader and pretty much the only option for great real time wind data and high quality human forecast (in the SF bay area at least). Sadly, all that great value is packaged in a terribly dated front end, both on the web and apps. It looks likes that company never seem to prioritize user experience at all, and is content with a barely working front end that was already obsolete 10 years. What a shame. Great product, very poorly packaged.

UI I needs to work. For the most part it worked fine but there are times that the interface does not workTo be able to navigate through the app.

Great forecast but poor app. Weather experts are great and bay area forecast is often very accurate. 1km model is awesome too. But the app and website are a nightmare to use. It’s not responsive, doesn’t work on safari, not always on chrome, full of ads, even with a pro account. I takes minutes to update a page, or to find the one we are looking for. I begin writing python scripts to get the one I’m looking for.

Poor support. App is good when it works but good luck if you have an issue. Have tried to post a classified ad in community section for months but doesn’t work. Finally got a response that they were having problems but they still don’t have it fixed. Had a problem early on when I forgot my login and that took weeks to get resolved. Worth looking at alternatives just to avoid the brain damage if you have a problem.

Amazing. Shows current wind and past trends very clearly. Predictions often off but shown and you get multiple predictions to choose from.

Best. Forecasting. Tool. Ever.. I can’t imagine life without this app. It gives you everything you need, all in 1 place. The new complete forecast is awesome! You won’t be disappointed!

Wind for when work is just an option. I have been using this for quite some time, it has made my day is a lot easier and keeps me from getting fired. Taking off last minute out of work and going to the beach to find out there’s no wind really doesn’t provide any excuses. This app helps in the forecast and see what’s going on so at least if I’m gonna get in trouble that’s worth it. Great app but please add Apple Watch support!. I have been a loyal premium subscriber to ikitesurf for years, its an amazing service. The iPhone app is fantastic and I use it multiple times daily. Please add an apple watch support with a widget on the watch face you can set to show the wind at your favorite site. This would be incredible. Thanks!

Great weather app. I have been using the app for a couple of months for sailing. It appears to be dead on with the exception that gust predictions seem to run high. Probably the difference between theory and water with trees and buildings around.

Time and money saver! More time in the water. Super functional it saves me money so I don’t go to kite and the wind dies. Also good for regular surfing when im abroad or choosing the correct spot that is wind direction sensitive. I can’t Function without it!

My go to weather check. Ikitesurf is a part of my session. Why waste time driving in search of perfect conditions if they’re not there? And even better, when the conditions get good you know it’s time to go.

Where did the Pro Forecast go?. I loved the meteorologist daily and 3 day forecast. When I upgraded to the most recent version that disappeared. Is that coming back?

Very good. Just like any weather forecast app it isn’t always 100% accurate but I’ve tried a few of these apps and being a fisherman this has to be my favorite of them all.

Clunky. I find this app frustrating given that I’m paying for a pro membership, or is it gold? Who knows it’s a cluster… Either way there are still ads, and there seems to be no way to save your favorites and then actually find them again.

Stations at kite beaches. All other weather apps are just pretty pictures of the same government data. iKitesurf is the only app with actual weather stations at key beaches and meteorologists who know how to forecast wind for kiting. Grateful this exists.

Love this site. Living in Hawaii and being an avid kiter, winger and windsurfer, I live on this site. It gives me all the info I need to determine where to go and what equipment to bring. I also us it to determine where to travel on vacation and what time of the year to go. Great site!

Inconsistent between individuals apps. There are inconsistencies between mine and my friends reports. Even the free versions on both phones are way different. Plus, I lost access to a lot of meters recently after having the free version for almost 3 years, while my boyfriend still has access to them and also has the free version. I can’t see graphs or more than 2 days out. So now I have to rely on him to give me reports. But then the reports I do get are waaay different than his are and my other friends. I also have friends that pay for the pro version, and theirs are also inconsistent. I’m really disappointed, and I would definitely not pay the outrageous price for the pro membership after seeing the inconsistent readings.

I’m a windsurfer. I look to these reports as my go to for planning my windsurf week. The last time I went I was the only windsurfer using fins. A great community with all the kiters, foilers and wingers. That’s where I first heard about your app.

Best wind app out there. I have owned a business that does Kiteboarding instruction for 9 years now. I use the ikitesurf app to forecast for my lessons on a daily basis. I highly recommend using it and going with the pro feature to get an enhanced list of weather stations and more importantly the pro forecast.

Reliable for travel and home alike. Easy to use and easy to learn the details and adjust then to my needs Perfect for instruction as i can easily send weather/ wind to folks

Game changer. I never used any kind of wind app or forecast tool the first 4 years that I kited. I finally gave in and got iKitesurf and I now can't believe I held off for so long. This is an amazing tool - it saves so much time and actually allows me to plan ahead for the wind, so that even during a busy work week, I am able to get out on the water.

Where is it windy?. Good app once ya get used to the graphics. i wish I could have it always open on my favorite location or on my iwindsurf home page. I haven't found a way to accomplish this. I'm still learning to use it.... Great info, seems pretty accurate for the Gorge. Cool world results.

Problem with app. I’ve been using your app for bout 3 years. Over the last 6 months I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting the app to wrk correctly. When I’m in map view, and click on a weather site, and then try to view the actual wind real time, the graph does not open up. I get a blank screen. Very frustrating. I reloaded your app, thinking that would solve it, and it did for a couple of tries, but now it doesn’t work. You need to fix this or IL end up canceling my subscription. Thanks

I Love IKitesurf!!!. Amazing App with all the information I need for my Kitesurfing. I just double check with other Weather apps the clouds coverage and rain as it is not so accurate, but in general is my every morning wind news app!!

The best app for wind and time saving. I have tried everything up and website and by for this is the best. The time it saves me knowing the conditions are accurate is invaluable.

Good detail of nearly all the elements!. Great app that brings almost all the kite boarding information together. I’m not sure why tides information can’t show up where I live so a bit annoying that I have to check that on another app.

IKitesurf-a must have for any serious kiter. I love the new features on this app. The wind list gives me a quick view of the wind at all the spots in my area. It’s easy to navigate and the alerts will let me now when the wind is up and a session is beckoning. Knowing the forecast and the conditions let’s me plan my day and gets me to the beach and I on the water with the right gear and less time wasted going to the wrong spot. Thanks iKitesurf!

Update causes crash. I've loved this app for years. However the may 5 w 2021 update causes the app to crash upon opening on iPad retina and iOS 10.3.

Data better than my eyes.... iKitesurf delivers great data - particularly gust and lull ranges. I don’t get to kite that much so taking a bit of the judgment out of kite selection is very helpful. CSG, Oakville, Canada

Forecasts for La Ventana,BCS incomplete. As longtime user of iKitesurf for many kitespots, I find the forecasts for La Ventana could and should take into acct the gust factor. Most times, gusts can be 30-50% of base wind.

5 stars. Very accurate reports and forecasts. Pro membership definitely worth it! A must in the life of a kiteboarder/ surfer.

This is so helpful. It’s so easy to use for anyone. And it’s much more precise with wave size (for the surfers) than most apps who just round the ft

Rarely works. I wouldn’t have this app if there was a gauge for my local lake elsewhere. The App only works in 5G LTE and even then sometimes it just logs you out and you can’t log back in because it’s through your iTunes account. It often doesn’t work and just forgets your favorites stations.

A great idea but the subscription is always glitching.. I love the concept of the app. Live wind meters and detailed forecasts. But I always struggle with my subscription. I am paid up but the app can’t see my subscription and continually asks me to subscribe. If I click subscribe then I tells me I’m already subscribed. But I can’t access any of the services. 😡😡😡

Pro meteorologist forecasts absolutely make this app. Title says it all. The in season written forecasts with local knowledge are what make iKitesurf stand out.

V3 nice!. I really like the new COMPLETE REPORT feature. It puts a nice graph at the top and all the details below. It refreshes with a swipe down and switches nicely from portrait to landscape mode and back.

OMG- Best app for Kiters!. Unreal * No other app comes close to this. Other apps have pretty features, Ikitesurf has pretty features and ACTUAL REAL TIME wind reports.

The Essenes of Sin. This app is the source of my depression. I really hope that IKite repents of the sins they commit to it’s users daily. Two years of incorrect predictions is enough to me. From now on I will rely on my instincts to tell me if it’s windy or not, as they will surely be more accurate then the horrible models I have faced during my time suffering within this app.

Buggy. Awesome app, but sometimes it doesn’t launch properly and auto closes when trying to open it. I have the newest IOS update and been experiencing this issue so I always have to redownload the app.

Great wind app!!. This is an excellent app for tracking wind. The PLUS version is extremely beneficial. Lots of built-in locations, and I use this daily.

Kiter beginner. Never kite surf, started one month ago, wind has being sketchy in the Clearwater- St Pete are, this app was recommended by the best instructor Alex Barker and has being instrumental for the best wind days and not waste $$$ with no wind situation. Keep the good work. AMBird

Keep crashing, inaccurate forecast. Every time I start app it crashes, loaded ok if I start it again right away. It crashes when scrolling list of places after second / third page. Forecast is off. It says 13 mph, when I got to the place 30 min later is was only 7 mph, despite app saying otherwise.

Real weather stations make this the best app. These guys install their own weather stations in extremely helpful locations... Making iKitesurf the best app for kiters

iKitesurf. All the info you need, quick and easy.

Not very user friendly. I got the plus. Had very hard time with setting password. Hard to send in email to get Tech support. Once in, the app used to show my favorite spots, but since the upgrade to plus, I was forbidden to see data of the wind spot. Also the alert setup is very cumbersome. I cancelled my membership.

App is good but interface could be better.. App is good, and a very useful tool. However, the interface could be a lot better. I feel like I'm using a 3rd generation iPhone application.
