Terrible customer service. So I used Turo for the 1st time in Hawaii & didn’t have a great experience. Within driving from pickup to our hotel we got a nail in one of the tires. The person we rented from was responsive but we didn’t get a replacement car till 11pm that night. We rented a convertible to enjoy a day of driving around the island to different beach locations. We were give a Honda Civic as the replacement car & charged the same exact dollar amount as the convertible. Then we had to change our plans the next day due to not having the car we originally planned on. Once I got done with my vacation I decided to contact Turo to get some type of a refund. For starters Turo doesn’t have any customer service staff you can speak with. It’s all done through a website chat. That chat took 2 hours out of my day compared to a 15 minute conversation. Turo said they would work on getting me some type of refund to accommodate this issue. After waiting 6 days, not the 2 they said it would be, I was offered a whopping $25 credit. This was & still is very frustrating. I highly recommend using car rental companies that take care of their clients compared to 3rd party apps. They have zero customer service & aren’t interested in getting repeat customers from my interactions. Hope this helps everyone from making the same mistake I did.

Turo & upper management. Don’t waste your time I had 7 vehicles listed. My 2021 Benz c300 was totaled in a fraudulent insurance claim by a Turo customer. I proved it to them and did everything I was suppose to. A month after the incident Isaac from San Francisco some manager/ employee calls me making threats saying I’m seconds away from not being able to use Turo. I said buddy you don’t have to take me off I want nothing to do with Turo. Terrible managers terrible customer service. I had a 50k car totaled and couldn’t even get a call back except when this guy wanted to power trip and prove how important his job at Turo is. Isaac is a pathetic excuse of a employee. Rent your cars at your own risk. They will come back late damaged or might not even come back. You can guarantee they will call your insurance also when it’s suppose to be covered by travelers. I promise you after a year of renting 7 cars there is almost no profit . By the time their customers burn your Tires, run tolls, red lights etc im still paying off things that pop up daily in the mail from my one year experiences with Turo. I would recommend save your self the stress and problems it is totally not worth it to rent your vehicle on this app. They barely check people’s background until your car is wrapped around a pole. Then you can wait on hold to get in touch with India where they outsource all there calls.

Turo commits fraud. I am a host and have Tesla. A credit card has to be on car for charging or your car can get locked from Tesla station for unpaid service. I rent my Tesla to customers and send a invoice after the trip for charging costs accurate to customer. The customer charges the car at 6pm after credit card companies close the invoice gets sent to me next day after the customer trip. I had 4 charges on my credit card Turo denied the whole trip because the last invoice came next day because I don’t have the ability to print instant invoice. They denied the other charges too with no explanation unless you call in they denied the last invoice because it came next day not instant. This is a form of fraud they allow customers to charge your credit card and deny payment based on when a credit card company issued the invoice. This is a massive loophole for customers because basically as long as you charge the host during non business hours and the invoice cannot possibly match cause the credit card company is closed till next day they have access to charging your credit card as much as they want and Turo helps in the act by making excuses for fraud. When someone has access to your credit card for charging and the agreement is Turo issues refund for charges and they don’t they are a accountable for fraud with the customer.

Mehhh.... With other car sharing services like Zipcar (among others) around here in San Francisco, it seems kind of ridiculous to have to pay such steep “service fees”. As an example, if you’d like to rent a car for $120 a day: You would be expected to pay an additional $30 for the minimum insurance and the an additional $112 as a “service fee” (WHAT?) With an app like Uber you still have to pay a fee however at least you essentially have a “chauffeur” driving you around for a couple days and it’s still not as expensive. On the other hand, most Turo car owners will have a mileage limit and then charge you for every miler you go over. Yes you heard that right. So not only are you driving yourself, but you’re paying per mile to continue to use the vehicle on top of the hundreds you’ve already spent on gas, mileage fees, anywhere you park, and then “service fees” to top it all off. So essentially the price to use the app is almost as much as renting the car alone. 🤦‍♂️ I would say this is a great app if you want to have the opportunity to drive a nicer car for a day. But as a practical car sharing app (the only reason I gave it an extra star), it really doesn’t give you a good bang for your buck. Turo has a great opportunity to have a truly groundbreaking business model but are missing opportunities to really catch on by having such nonsensical fees.

Terrible customer service and be careful who you rent with .. First of all I was new to this. And my flight was delayed I was traveling with my toddler and didn’t even get to the car till almost 3 am. Since I was new to this app. I checked the car out on the outside seen the tires were extremely bald. Didn’t say anything. It was 3 am and everything is closed I’m traveling with my toddler. On top of that I checked the car out on the inside briefly wasn’t aware I had to check under the seats make sure everything was spotless . I mean it’s 3 am I’m with my toddler I skimmed the top interior of the car looked ok. I used the car for 4 days. Was never told I had to take pictures of the inside of the car and under the seats till I dropped off The car . Tbh I’ve used enterprise or Avis etc never had to do that. Only used Turo thinking it would be easier. But they’re not about their customers . Guys when you rent make sure you check everything from the floors to the bottom of the seats. Make sure to take pictures before you drop it off as well. They charged me a 250 fee because UNDER the seats they found particulars of who knows what . I was with my 3 year old toddler and I don’t smoke. And because I was never told BEFOREHAND and BEFORE the check out one of the things should be take pictures of every corner of the outside and inside of the car . Very unprofessional customer service .

Turo does not care when you get scammed. I took a trip with Turo renting a very specific electric vehicle. The listing was ambiguous, so I followed up immediately after booking confirming it was the exact model with extended battery. When I picked up the car it was the standard battery which affects both range and performance numbers, lowering horsepower and acceleration. The range is what I was most insulted over, I specifically mentioned I was road tripping and the loss of 20kwh battery space made us charge more often and limited the use of the vehicle at destination. We went to a place that only had level 2 charging but if we had the extra capacity this would not have been a difficulty. Instead we had to take taxis while we let the car sit to charge at 7kw/h. Turo didn’t care, at all. They refused to even engage with me until I combed their terms and conditions and found the very specific way you have to complain to them to get a response. They told me that because the vehicle was a premium model that it didn’t matter I was lied to over the battery size. They offered me $25 future credit. Like I would ever rent through them again. Told me I could pre-pay $375 to arbitrate, pro-tip: when you sign up for Turo send them an email saying you opt out of forced arbitration so when you get screwed you can just file small claims. All in all, Turo and Michael Dennis the owner of the standard battery Ford Mustang Mach E are scum who scam. Do not recommend. Use at your own risk.

STAY AWAY!!!. Turo UNFAIRLY determined that I was responsible for the scratch to the owner's car. I searched the entire car before I left and did not see a SINGLE scratch on the car. I checked inside the car as well and it was clean and there was no garbage or anything inside of the car. Now I am being harassed with emails to pay money for a claim made by the owner saying that I caused the scratch. The scratch could have been photoshopped in the pictures or even made by the owner himself. The pictures that were submitted by the owner also did not show the entire car with the scratch included. It was a piece of metal shown with a scratch. It could have been ANY piece of metal with a scratch. If I were Turo, I would drop the claim since there is no hard evidence that this scratch was made by me during my trip. I am EXTREMELY ANGRY and FRUSTRATED with Turo and will never be using this app again. Next time I need a rental, I will be going through a legitimate business, such as Enterprise and Hertz. I feel like both Turo and the owner are just looking to make money off of their customers. Not only that, Turo charged my card without notifying me that they would do that. Advice for Turo: hire people to come check the car before and after the ride so that the car can be FAIRLY assessed. I feel like I was being scammed. If I could give negative stars for a review, I would.

A viable alternative to conventional rentals. I write this after my first experience using the app. It was a simple and convenient alternative to conventional rental companies in the declining age of those corporate run conglomerates that had successfully pushed out almost any competition. My most recent experience with one of the big-name rental outfits left me scrambling to fit six people and their suitcases into a full-sized SUV after they failed to fulfill my order for a mini van. I had nearly given up on rentals and bought my own mini van when I discovered Turo. I found a few mini vans available in my area that were available in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. I chose a Pacifica and was very thankful to find it was well equipped and very clean; unlike any vehicle I had ever rented before. The app guided me through the whole process and I was on my way. Had I needed to extend my trip, the app offered many times to provide that opportunity through the app. The return process was also very easy and everything was documented with pictures to back up any claims that could arise. I’m very satisfied with Turo.

Don’t waste your time!. Although the ending result was being able to get a replacement vehicle, the steps to get there were absolutely insane! It took me seven hours to get a replacement vehicle after the original host became unresponsive when a light on the dashboard came on, there was a burning oil smaell coming from underneath the hood and the vehicle wouldn’t get up to speed! Turo expected me to download and create an account with Uber, in order to get around after I was informed that I’d get a replacement vehicle. I did not do this and informed them I was told they’d get me a replacement from a different host—not have to go through Uber! This drained our last night in Orlando by working on this problem for seven hours, including dealing with a third party company that Turo uses to tow the first vehicle. The host would not respond to provide me an address to share w/ the towing company on where to take his vehicle to. Our first time going to Disney during the holidays was supposed to be stress free and it was far from that after the host became unresponsive. The second host that offered their vehicle was misinformed about which airport I needed to leave the vehicle at, in order to fly home; therefore almost backed out to let me use it, up until Turo paid the extra cost. For this being my first time using Turo, I do not feel confident nor trust using the services again! Delayed time, sleep, unhappy family during our Christmas Disney vacation!!

Much less Stressful than a rental agency!. I was a little concerned about using Turo because not everyone is professional. Fortunately my first experience was wonderful and will plan to use Turo in the future. They encourage you to take multiple pictures of the vehicle before driving away for your protection. I would recommend taking the same pictures up PRN turning in your vehicle. That will prevent the "he said- she said." Record your mileage as well for good measure. It was just so very nice not having to deal with rental agencies and working with just one person. I was able to quickly pick up and return my vehicle at the airport. This was important to me. The person I rented the car from was so very kind and professional. He responded promptly to any questions. The vehicle was in excellent condition and very clean. I was able to secure a vehicle and have it at the airport in less than 24hrs to my arrival for much less than a rental company would charge for the same type of vehicle. I also liked picking who I would work with and knew exactly what vehicle I was getting. I have shared my experience with friends and family. They plan to also use Turo for their next vacation!

The Way it Should Be Done. I’m not sure why renting a car before the Turo app was seemingly in the dark ages, but today renting a car through their platform shows that it should have been down this way from the start. You choose the exact car you want, not from a fleet of “Ford Explorer or comparable”. It’s way cheaper than the big guys, by a lot, and this is still including the highest Turo insurance that you can get which covers everything. Many times you can get unlimited miles if you have a lengthy trip. Hosts at this point have many trips under their belts and have reliable reviews that you can trust. Very importantly, the host knows the car and will demo everything in detail instead of just handing over the keys and sending you on your way. Also, while you can get the car delivered, I have not been inconvenienced by a short Uber trip to pick the car up, being that there are now endless hosts using the platform which means a car is never more than a 10 minute drive away. My personal car Is about a decade old and I’d rather not put the wear and tear on it, but I also don’t want a new car payment. My company pays me pretty well per mile when I travel, so using Turo once a month for my longer trips definitely pays off and I don’t mind spending the money being that it really is so affordable compared to chain rental companies. All in all, Turo has really changed the game and you should give it a try!

Terrible customer service. The worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I made an account and everything was good to go. I ended up adding gm gf’s card on the payment information because she was paying for it and after I added her info the app said I wasn’t approved to drive. I contacted their chat team and it was so difficult to get a normal answer they just kept telling me I’m wasn’t approved and reason why I wouldn’t but they couldn’t tell me exactly why and how to fix it. I called customer service and the person I spoke with told me to contact the same chat room so I tried again and they asked me for certain documents as far as my license and a picture of me holding it. I needed up changing back the payment info (cuz I assumed that’s what it was) to my card in my name but they still needed verification on the last card even tho I changed it. Still sent in everything they needed and I got approved an hour later then 30 minutes later I wasn’t approved again. I called customer service AGAIN and the gentleman was not helpful he just kept telling me to contact the chat but nobody could tell me why it keep not approving me and when I asked to speak to a supervisor he said “he’s not going to be able to help” what kind of customer service is that?? This is the first time and last time I’ll be trying to work with them because the process of getting a rental car should not be that difficult.

Turo DOESNT COVER YOUR CAR. I am an All Star Host to prove my credentials & I am writing my review so all other hosts are aware of this. My car was recently stolen from the airport and Turo did not cover the damages made to my vehicle. Obviously I informed my personal insurance about my car and they automatically denied my claim due to it being parked at the airport for “commercial purposes- Turo”, therefor if it was parked at the airport for Turo, they should be the ones to cover my vehicle. I have emailed & called Turo and every time I inform them about my case, they make an excuse about “Oh let me look into your claim and I’ll give you a phone call back” & never hear from them again. All they want to do is push me away. I have paid my dues for their insurance, Liberty Mutual, and they still don’t want to cover my vehicle. It blows my mind that a company like Turo has profited so much money during the Pandemic in Hawaii, but when I comes down to coverage, it only proves my point of big corporations taking advantage of the little man. I’m still questioning as to why Turo won’t cover my vehicle’s damages made when it was stolen when Turo makes it an option to leave the car at the airport with a lockbox. Don’t give hosts the option to leave the car unattended with a lock box and not have a back up plan for when a thief comes and takes your car. Over all, poor customer service and if you want to be taken advantage of, then Turo is for you,

READ!!! Be warned!!!. I was charged 150 + a 3% adman fee due to my host “claim” that the vehicle was dirtier upon return. Claiming animal fur was in the car, smoke smell and the upholstery was messed up! This is all a blatant lie to get more money, as I do not even smoke AND was the only one in the vehicle - I didn’t even eat food in the vehicle to avoid the smell. I had NOT one animal ever in the vehicle and even had the vehicle thoroughly cleaned inside and out! In fact I took pictures of every spot in and around the vehicle as evidence that it would be returned equal if not better than when I picked it up. Yet TURO did not follow up with me on all my proof, but instead listened to my host outlandish lie and extracted the $150 + from my account! I am flabbergasted to say the least! What kind of cleaning fee is that to begin with AND after I had paid for it cleaned and inspected beforehand. This is just absurd! Where is the accountability??? I will from here forward persuade people NOT to use TURO! I even left a good review when I left and found out later what my host did, then tried to retract that “good review” in order to warn people about this person, but was not even allowed to do this, which is irritating, because I can only imagine how many more person this fellow cons on the regular with his vehicles! TURO, with all the proof I submitted, where is the accountability!?? Return my money

It’s good to use until the owner claims car damages.. I’ve used Turo several times because it’s fairly convenient to use, but I’m going to close my account and never use this app again. A word of caution to everyone who uses this app. TAKE MULTIPLE PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF THE ENTIRE CAR. I recently rented out a car for a few days. Several hours after returning the car, the owner texted me saying there was damage to the front bumper. I was confused because I did not notice any damages to the car during my trip not any incidents that could have cause significant damage. I took a few photos during the check in and check out process so I went back and looked at them. In one photo from check in there was an indication of some damages to the car. My belief was that the damages must have happened before my trip and the check in photos supported this. I sent this evidence to the Turo claims department. In the end, it didn’t matter…Turo still ended up charging me a $1100 repair charge stating that the pictures weren’t “clear” enough. The thing with Turo’s policy is that they can charge you for damages even if the damages weren’t your fault. It’s guilty until proven innocent here. They don’t care about customers when it comes to claims. Use them if you want but know that you may be billed $1000+ at the end of your trip if you’re unlucky.

My 1st bad experience with Turo.. Good morning! My name is Brandon and I recently rented a Jeep Compass through Turo. I’ve used Turo previously and have never had any issues until this latest rental. Upon getting the car, I was met by the owner’s next door neighbor because the owner was out of town on business. Before he handed me the keys, he notified me that the tire sensors on the front tires were inoperable. The owner never said anything to me about this. Strike one! After driving it for about a day or so, I noticed that the brakes were seriously overdue to be changed. The whole vehicle shook when I had to slow down or come to a complete stop. Strike two. On top of all of this, the rear tires kept losing tire pressure. I’m assuming that there’s a nail in the driver’s side rear tire because we had to put air in it on 5 different occasions. Strike three. I was under the assumption that vehicles rented through Turo had to go through an inspection before being rented. The owner of the Jeep Compass seems to be a nice guy, but is slacking on the upkeep of his automobile. Every time that I encountered a problem, I alerted him of the situation through the Turo app. He told me that he made an appointment to get it looked at and I hope that he is able to get everything taken care of before anyone else can rent it due to safety concerns. Thank you!

Incredible Service. I don’t normally write these, so you know it’s either super good or super bad. In this case I was blown away with how responsive and fair minded Turo is. I rented a Tesla and paid about $1000 ahead of time. About a month before my trip, the car was unavailable due to mechanical problems or something, I’m not really sure I just got a notification that I had been refunded and my trip was canceled. I was very worried, I thought I wouldn’t be able to rent another Tesla of the same year and model (I’ve never driven one and was super stoked for this!). Luckily, it was super easy to find a help button and choose the option to speak with a customer service rep. I pressed 2 on the call to speak with someone and within 1 minute I was explaining my situation to a real human (something very important to me). Within 10 minutes I not only received confirmation of my full refund, I had also received an additional $500 of in-app credit to use towards my next rental. I was able to rent an even nicer Tesla I wouldn’t have been able to previously!!! Let’s goooo. Outstanding customer service, I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to rent a car. Much better rates than the big companies, more flexibility, AND nicer cars. And obviously from the rest of my review you can gather that they have incredible customer service that responds very quickly!

Poor service. I've had a few trips on Turo, and this one is the worst experience. I had a flat tire within a short period of time after picking up the Tesla. I parked the car and when I returned, the back tire was completely flat. I had to tow it to a repair shop late at night and had to wait until the morning to repair the tire. The tire was wear down so severely that the repairman couldn't plug it and needed to replace it with a new tire for safety precautions. The tow and tire ended up costing me approximately $300 (which is more than the actual trip is worth) just to maintain the host's vehicle. I was also told during my trip by a Turo customer service rep. that I would be reimbursed for all of the out of pocket cost and compensated for the time invested to maintain the host's vehicle. As of this review (2 weeks after the trip) I have not been reimbursed, and I've been getting charged for late fees/ recharge fees that resulted from the time it took to repair the vehicle. Overall condition of the car when I received it was poor. The interior side panel kept falling off, all the rims were scratched up, interior had stains and the car was due for numerous services. I take pride in taking care of all my previous host's cars with no issues. At this point I'm taking great consideration in terminating my Turo account and never having an issue like this happen again. If the $300 is too much money for them they could keep it.

What is not to love?. I absolutely love Turo, so much that this review won’t do it justice. Not only is this a genius idea for a host, but it’s unbelievably convenient for a guest! We were over paying for subpar rental vehicles through Expedia and car rental companies for years until we found an unexpected need to search elsewhere. We thought we would be stranded without a car because we waited too long to book a vehicle, but Turo came to our rescue with a better deal than we could have asked for. I must admit I was skeptical during our first use, afraid of an unknown first experience. But that all changed after our first trip using Turo and we will never go back to the way we were renting previously! We had 24/7 communication with our host, pick up and drop off were so easy and convenient, and we didn’t wait in any lines after we picked up our luggage! We went straight to the airport parking lot and drove off in our beautiful, affordable rental- we felt like locals! If you are new to this app and considering using it, please do yourself a favor and go for it. You will not be disappointed- I have recommended using Turo to all of my friends and family already and encourage you to do so as well!

Worst car rental. UPDATE: To think that these people wrote back on the review to say I should email them to solve the problem, I really thought they were going to but like I said they just did that to save face and didn’t even bother responding back to my email. Save your money, because company like this love to act like they care when truly they ware unwilling to do anything to help the customer in need. This is truly the worst car rental company ever. I had a friend who even told me not to use them but I didn’t listen. I had a rental that I was going to get for my birthday in which my host canceled whiles I had a thirty minute grace period. I was LIVID due to being in another state with no way of getting to my destination. All I received was a notification stating the I CANCELLED so that it looks better for the company. I called them because they took a cancellation fee from my account when I WASN’T the one that cancelled. I decided to give them a call in WHICH they all claimed that I will receive my refund but now all of a sudden it’s not going through. They decided to tell me in two business days I’m supposed to receive an email, in which I haven’t received any email or call of any sort about my refund and issues I encountered with this company. This is the worst thing one can do to a valuable customer. Please don’t waste your time on a company like this because they truly don’t care about the wrongs that they do.

Great Customer Service. Due to unforeseen circumstances resulting from life & the pandemic, I needed transportation for work. Turo Agents & Hosts have consistently taken care of my car rental needs. I’ve been a Turo renter on and off since 2017; moreso now since 2021 as I needed the vehicle to commute from Houston to Dallas for work and due to my responsibilities as a Praise & Worship leader at LOV Nation Church. I am pleased with the service and have been made to feel safe in every vehicle I rent. It is clear that Turo cares about the customer’s health & safety as they appear to have made it apart of their guideline for hosts to follow COVID cleaning procedures in order to list any vehicle. I am also pleased with how Turo does everything in their power to resolve issues if they may arise. I highly recommend using Turo. Their rates are competitive, and, thought they shift according to the market like everywhere else, have been at least 30% cheaper than using Hertz or Enterprise Rent-a-car. Of course, you may have your mileage trade offs since not every Host on Turo offers unlimited miles. Just be calculated on those types of rental parameters to ensure that rental best fits your need or adjust your life according for the duration of your trip. I enjoy this service. Thank You Turo and to every person who has graciously hosted me. I look forward to enjoying renting more vehicles as time goes on for leisure & business! I highly recommend using Turo!

Absolutely Terrible EVERYTHING!. Terrible company! They will say you did damage to the car when pictures clearly show otherwise! I had the worst experience with this company!! And still dealing with it as I’m writing this. I’ve rented hundreds of times in my life and I want to make sure no one else has to go through what I did. The host controls everything and you have no rights as the renter/guest. My host changed the pickup location right when I landed. The location was at a haunted house parking lot in a dark, muddy in the middle of no where location. Couldn’t take any before pictures because it was so dark. I drove the car for 3 days and basically had it parked most of the tine away from other cars because I was working in a small town in Indiana. I returned the car at the original location and took my pictures of the car that clearly shows nothing wrong with the car! Here’s the best part, the host messages me and asks me if I hit the car on anything in the whole driver side of the car? I said no, look at the pictures I took. Well it doesn’t matter what pictures I took, the host has all the power to make a claim and say I did it. That’s what she did! I got the basic coverage and it states I am liable even if it’s not my fault!!! I would have to pay 3k out of pocket for something I didn’t even do! I’m still dealing with this and just want to make sure you watch out for this company, they will screw you over big time!!!

Turo is the worst run company I’ve ever dealt with.. So I created a account to rent a vehicle through turo. All was going well until somehow I created account for my father using my phone because he was super excited about trying it out later after I rented. somehow my phone number and email were linked to his drivers license and account, even though I already had a account with my info. I showed up to rent the vehicle, and the guy (who was very kind) politely asked where my dad was, seeing his license on file for my account. I explained there must be a misunderstanding and he said to go ahead, take the keys and trusted me to get and figure it out. I spent about 3 hours on the phone with Turo’s useless customer service only to be told that, because the license in the account had been linked to my email and Facebook, they couldn’t do anything about it and basically said to create a new account to. I did that, but they failed to approve my license in a timely manner and get my vehicle re-booked. Imagine having a service where you can’t even update or change the license you have on file. What happens when you move? So you need to create a new account when you move states? My trip was ruined and I ended up having to cancel my trip to the mountains that day because of Turo’s ineptitude. I’ve never used the service again and I never will. Good to riddance.

Fake reviews terrible customer service check their BBB account where the real reviews are. I used this app last weekend to run some errands while my car was in the shop. Not only did I read that this app is full of fake reviews most likely from paid reps or their own employees. The customer service is awful and they have multiple scam accounts on their app. The car I picked was never available, the owner said he deleted the account months ago yet was messaging me from the app. I had to pay close to $100 upfront just to get no message from the owner, I arrive at the house early in the morning no answer to texts or calls. I call customer service and they can’t do anything but try to call the owner. He forwards the calls from Turo the representative says we can get you another car but it’ll be another $50. This is a complete scam. Now I’m waiting to get my money back if I even do probably will have to report it to my bank as they said it will take up to 10 days to get it back. They took my money up front for a car that hasn’t been available for months wasting my money for an Uber to get there, my time, and my sanity. This app is horrible you’d think they’d have it together being founded in 2009. That’s 13 years to get this app right but it’s all a scam and about money. Don’t use this app you’ll just get stressed out.

Turo “super host” scammed my girlfriend’s elderly Asian American mother. I’ve used Turo in the past and have had mixed experiences. However I will never use this company again due to the recent experience my girlfriend’s elderly Asian American Mom had being scammed on the app and taken advantage of by a complete jerk. They thought they rented a Mercedes Benz by a super host user named Vidas J. The car had decent ratings when they picked the car up at the airport on Christmas Eve the car had severe exterior damage that looked like rust. It looked like a drug dealer’s car and nothing like the photos. The super host mentioned “sun damage” in the footnote of the posting but they had no idea it would look the way it did based on the windshield. There were cracks on the windshield and the tire sensor was out. Since it was Christmas Eve they had no choice but to take the car in order to get to their family. They took a ton of pictures of all the damage on the car to ensure they wouldn’t be blamed. To make matters worse the “super host” tried to intimidate them and shake them down for new “cracks on the windshield” and the tire sensor being broken. Can you imagine! I will never use Turo again and will tell everyone I know not to use Turo again. Turo support did nothing to help and didn’t have a person to contact. The super host was able to call and prevent us from eating the experience and gave my girlfriend’s Mom a 1 star. They felt threatened and taken advantage. Never use Turo

Extremely disappointing customer service. I’ve rented from Turo about 10 times across various states when traveling; usually it’s just for running errands or a quick day trip, but recently I rented for a longer period of time to do a bunch of jobs around the city I was working in. I took a bit of a longer weekend trip and experienced some car issues. The condition was pre-existing (risk of renting personally owned vehicles I suppose) and it took me 6 hours on the phone with 3 different departments at Turo to receive a resolution. I lost an entire day just trying to get a vehicle and get home; the final solution ended up costing me an extra $300 and I didn’t even get the same coverage of days with a new vehicle. I lost out on work and valuable time because of the inadequate system they have in place. One person could only place a request to get me roadside assistance, while another could only cancel my existing reservation but not search for a new one. They had terrible rules in place disallowing me from working on a solution while we waited 3 hours on the side of the road in hot desert heat. The first person didn’t even put out claim in correctly so we waited an hour just for their app to start searching for help. In a modern era it’s surprising that it took 3 departments and 6 hours to simply cancel a reservation and book a new one- all at my expense. I would not recommend Turo unless it’s a last resort.

Used Turo many times!. Turo is definitely a wonderful and convenient app for anyone trying to rent a car for a short period or long period. The app is very user friendly and super easy to navigate through. You don’t get all of the unexpected fees or security deposit requests as you do with other big name car rentals (Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, etc.). They give you many options to add on if you would like for a decent fee that I can’t complain about. The best feature is that there customer service agents at turo and most of the people that I have rented through are very friendly and helpful, they have sent me coupons to make up for any inconvenience that are always greatly appreciated. I would say the only downfall to Turo is that whoever you rent from can leave reviews about you where they can lie about what kind of a renter you are and turo really doesn’t do anything about it nor even dare to remove a comment that could make you look bad. I thought they would at least look into it and attempt to rectify the situation but nope. Overall, I do recommend Turo app if your in need of a rental. At least give them a try when your looking around and pricing car rentals out.

Terrible experience & policies. This app gives you the capability to scam people out of their money. All you have to do is rent your car out. As long as the person renting the car doesn’t take a picture of EVERY part of the vehicle you can up charge that person for anything. I was scammed on this app for this exact reason. I rented a car for one day and had only a few problems with the app and the renter. It wasn’t until the next day when I was charger with a $70 charge. The policy of the app says that the renter has up to 24 HOURS to upload pictures of the cars condition to the app. I returned the car and I wake up to dirt, spilled drinks, and almost 80 miles of gas missing from the fuel gauge. Because I didnt take a picture of every inch of the car I was charged. I disputed the charges because I had a picture of the fuel gauge when I returned it but it took them 3 days to get back to me. By that time the charges were already taken out of my bank account. All they had to say was that the renter can wait until the next day to take pictures of the quality of the car. He literally drove around in the car and got it dirty just so he could charge me $70. I will never use this app and I hope that whoever is reading this to never use it either. If you happen to use it make sure you take detailed pictures and videos of everything. Keep receipts for refueling.

Horrible customer service. I never write poor reviews, I think it’s unfair to judge an app so harshly over something that can be talked about with customer service. That being said, I went through Turo’s customer service THREE times before I had to move onto another app. While Turo has some great features, it’s customer service line member did nothing to help. I provided all of my valid information and was not yet approved to rent a car for some reason. I talked to customer service and was told I would get an email in about an hour resolving the issue but it might be a little longer. I totally understand things needing to take longer, it’s a delicate process. However two hours later and I was getting anxious because I needed a car that day. I messaged agin asking for an update. All I was told was that they will “expedite further”. I messaged back after thirty minutes to a third member and asked if I could get a status check and how much longer it would be. She told me another HOUR. Right now it’s been FIVE HOURS since my first time reaching out and I still haven’t heard anything back. Not to mention customer service had typos and seemed all around impersonal and unprofessional. Treated me like I just needed to be shut up. I wish I could add pictures of the conversation but I was so shocked how I was being treated after being so patient. I wish I could say better things as I heard highly of this app. I hope other have a better experience than me.

BIGGEST CHEAT FOR BOTH HOSTS AND CUSTOMERS. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! I was the biggest fan and widespread marketer of turo writhing my circle. Being a renter at first, I transitioned into a host listing 2 of my new cars. It’s great money when your least expecting anything to happen but hey, your client is driving your car and anything can happen right? Long story short, don’t fall for “full premium coverage got you covered all the way”. I was a host with a premium insurance coverage which meant more profit percentage cut from Turo. Someone crashed my minivan and first thing I’ll say is, turo has no communication over the phone. Everything is done via email. First month was spent in getting the claim handled and first supplement being sent over. 1 MONTH. Then they cheated me off by deducting a whole paint job due to a few minor scratches I had on one side of my front bumper ($800). Any concern I would email them would be left uncared for , rental was only $30/day for 10 days MAX. Our car was given back to us after 2 1/2 months with us paying $2000 out of pocket extra. Turo and their insurance service stopped communicating with us and our shop. To the point that the shop we went to (Honda certified) does not accept turo based or DMA claim based vehicles at all. You will be cheated, abused, and uncared for. Do not use this platform. By the way, the renter bought full insurance from turo and they still charged him $2500 for claim costs....

Worst Customer Service. My first (and last) rental with Turo I was charged $150 cleaning fee for having an animal in the car, which we did not. I was charged the fee without my knowledge. I was then emailed after they charged me, but never contacted about whether I actually had an animal in the car. When I tried to dispute the fee, I found you can only email or “chat” with what may or may not be a real person. I was summarily dismissed every time I tried to present my side and after 3 exchanges told my emails would not be responded to. I was told next time to contact the company “as soon as an issue arises” and provide evidence. How do I prove there was no animal in the car? How do I know there’s an issue, if they don’t let me know? The host waited until I left a 5-star review to charge me the fee. When I asked to change my review, I was told it could only be removed, but not changed. Clearly, he was covering what should have been his business expense by charging me and Turo never gave me a chance to defend myself. They just sided with him. This host came with a 5-star rating and was an “All-Star Host.” Who knows how many other people couldn’t change their positive rating to a negative one, like me. This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with! Do your research on this company. The more I started digging around online, the more I found many other people in similar situations to mine. Rent at your own risk!

Scammed by Turo Host. Rented a car for a 4 day trip. Took pictures of the ext and int of the car as instructed by Turo. About 15 minutes into the drive the engine light came on, so I pulled over, messaged the host, and called Turo. Turo support said that this was likely an emissions light and I could either continue to drive the car, or I could return it. They also said that because the engine light came on at the beginning of my trip that I would not be held liable for it, since the issue would have occurred before I picked up the vehicle. I continued the trip, but two days after I returned the car I was hit with a damage claim, stating that the muffler assembly had been damaged and that repairs would cost thousands of dollars. I repeatedly messaged Turo support, getting a new agent every single time, asking them to reference the call with their support team, which they refused to do, and refused to provide me with the recording of that call. When they finally sent over the repair bill I noticed drastic up charges for the parts that the host claimed needed repairing, and sent over multiple listing from the car manufacturer with cheaper costs, which would save well over $1,000. Turo basically emailed back and said this wasn’t their problem and they used a third party assessor and wouldn’t adjust claims unless contacted by an attorney. Go rent with an actual rental car service that has integrity and isn’t looking to support hosts who are scamming users to fix their cars.

So far, so good. The app is mostly self-explanatory.. However, my app is not able to show me a guest’s identity data, so I am not able to verify guest’s identity before a trip. I have already contacted support two times, and each time,I was advised to refresh the app, and or use the website. I have tried that, but the app still doesn’t show me the id data that I may confirm from guest identity card. Also customers are increasingly complaining that the airport pickup location is too far. Some guests who are familiar with the airport want to pickup from the airport short term parking or garage. The three Turo assigned pick up terminals A, B and C appears to be understood by many people, including Turo support and customer service who think that Turo can park at any parking lot at Nashville International Airport. But my understanding is that Turo is prohibited from parking at Parking Garage 1 and 2. This misunderstanding has resulted to the poor ratings and not so good language used on some of us hosts. I suggest that guests reviews regarding inconvenience of picking a vehicle because of distance MUST NOT be regarded by Turo as a complaint against a host; such ratings need to be discarded.

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY TO HOST. I’ve used Turo a few times when i need to rent a car for out of town business. Never had a problem until i rented a car a few days ago. I drove the car and was probably an hour and a half late, but was in constant communication with the host. The host even told me that due to me running late i would have to pay a late fee, which i agreed and went on. The next day i receive multiple emails from Turo and messages form the host saying i needed to pay a “cleaning” fee and a “smoking” fee on top of the extra miles and extra time i used. I sent messages back and forth with the host but he was negligent and insisted that i smoked in his car. After the host escalated the claim i started talking with customer service. They blatantly told me “the host has provided enough information to hold the claim true.” The host wouldn’t send me a single photo of their “dirty” car, the host wouldn’t listen to me when i told him “I DO NOT SMOKE”. But somehow everything i said was overlooked and the host was “correct”. I had previously been hit by a “cleanliness” fee so i took it upon myself to make sure the car was wiped down and clean. There’s absolutely no accountability for the host, he just said i did this and that and Turo just believed him. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND because they just try to get as much money out of you as they can.

Fantastic concept and well delivered. I’ve only used the app once so far but had a fantastic experience! Great concept and well executed. I found everything to be as advertised and the person that I rented from was great to work with. Since I wasn’t renting from a big rental company brand there was some hesitation on what it would be like and how hard it would be to find the vehicle. Obviously, I can imagine every experience will be different since everything is handled remotely so go into the transaction with the mindset of being flexible. Remember these people are letting you use there vehicle at a lower cost than if you were renting from a big name, or at least that should be the case (I wouldn’t be inclined to do it if it were the same cost). I would definitely recommend this service for anyone, business or leisure. If you are renting for business and this is your first time using the service, add an extra 10-15 minutes to your pickup and drop off since there is a learning curve. At least that was my experience but maybe you are a wiz and figuring this stuff out 😁 Happy renting!

Life saver. We bought airline tix for a one day trip to the Big Island only to find out there were no car rentals available at all, on the entire island. Tried to cancel the flights since it was within 24 hours of purchase but low and behold you can't cancel if the trip is within 7 days. So I called a friend who lives there and she told me about Turo. I was able to get a really good 4x4 Jeep for a little more than a rental agency would have charged which seemed reasonable with peak pricing. The owner met us a the curb and was very sweet. I was much more careful with this car because I felt like I knew the owner, I basically treated it like I treat my own car - didn't get it dirty like I might with a rental. The ratings from renters who've had problems with insurance give me pause, but it's not super easy dealing with rental companies insurance either. I think I will probably keep using rental car companies just because I felt more nervous and responsible driving a nice persons car, but Turo worked great for us. I'm impressed by the app, and their ability to screen/qualify drivers and renters within minutes. Very convenient service.

Horrible. I heard a lot about Turo and thought I’d give it a shot since my car needed to go into the shop due to a recall. I signed up everything was fine and then all of a sudden I couldn’t click on anything with out an error message popping up. I contacted customer support and they told me my account was under review. I thought it might have been due to my email being used listing my last name as my maiden name and my license says my married name so I tried to have them correct it. They would not correct it and told me to wait until the review was done. I was told it would only take a few hours. The next day at around 2pm I finally get an email saying that my account has been closed. I contact customer support again. They offer to resend my application for a second review but refused to tell me why my account was closed to begin with. I have no criminal history nor any traffic violations and I for sure didn’t violate any of their policies as I was only on the app for 5 minutes before it wouldn’t let me do anything. I tried to explain that if they could tell me why my account was closed I could offer other information to help move the review along but was told they would not be disclosing that information to me. I feel that it is very unprofessional for them to take my information and then refuse to tell me why I was denied.

Nice idea but still have lots for improvement. Had my first Turo experience and was hoping it’d go great but instead it ruined the trip. I don’t understand why Im responsible for the airport parking garage exit fee, when the host did not specify anywhere that delivery to the airport will cause me to pay a $32 exit fee. The host parked the car in the garage around 3-4AM and my pickup wasn’t until 2pm so I had to pay a full day fee. Turo website even specifies in quotations that this information must be listed in the “Description” field of the listing and I don’t see it listed there. I contacted Customer support and they initially said they will give me a refund and to send them a photo of the receipt, which I did. But they ended up saying I still need to pay for the fee even though I’m unable to locate this information in the host’s listing. Turo is basically saying one thing online but going back on their word, essentially lying to customers. The host also lost the parking garage ticket when I dropped off the car. I ended up having to pay a $38 “lost parking garage ticket” fee because the host claimed I lost it. How do I lose a parking ticket from time of getting in the garage and getting out the car. I left the ticket in plain sight under the dash and even made sure prior to leaving the vehicle. This was my first experience, and will be my last. I definitely won’t recommend Turo to any of my friends and family.

Wrongly Charged $250!!! Do not use this app!!!. I rented a car from Beth the first week of March in California. I’m from Ohio. I drove on toll roads and downloaded the app the same day I drove on the toll roads to pay my tolls. I put the license plate number of the vehicle that was listed on Beth’s host account, and the California Toll Roads app kept telling me there was no information about the vehicle. I tried for an entire week to pay the tolls. Fast forward to today, and I get a notification from Beth that I’m being charged $250 for toll road fines. She submitted the documents and the license plate that was listed on the tickets was completely different than the one on her account. I told her that and then she went and changed the license plate on her Turo account to match the ticket!! I told Turo they had the wrong license plate from her and Turo charged me anyway! My toll cost went from $13 to $250 because of these fines. Beth never told me when she got the original ticket in the mail and only told me when she got this huge fine!! Turo is impossible to get a hold of and no one is responding to me other than to tell me once that they are charging me the full $250. This is ridiculous. I tried for 7 days in a row (all the Toll Roads app will let you search for a drive for) and I was trying to pay the tolls. Then I get charged this fee. Absolutely horrible customer service. I do NOT recommend this app!!!

Love this app!. I used Turo for the first time on a recent trip to Kauai (Sept 2021). I couldn’t find a single rental car on the island a few months before our trip and asked friends for advice and one told me there was an app for cars similar to vrbo for houses. I set up my profile and found a car I liked, and then everything went very smoothly on our trip. I now would likely prefer this to a traditional car rental service, or at least will always compare prices and availability in locations with both rentals and Turo. I wish I’d thought of this! The only improvement I can think of is pick up and drop off. We paid extra to have the car brought to our hotel versus picking it up at the airport. We didn’t need it for our entire trip and it was a few hundred dollars a day, so thought we’d save some money. If the “host” lives closer to your drop-off location than the airport, not sure why it needs to cost more. Would seem better for them as well. So seems like there could be up front discussion of location and then fees set only if the requested unique drop-off is less convenient for the host. Also, our host seemed to not be clear that we’d also paid for pick-up at the hotel (although very clear to me in the booking details) and it created a lot of back and forth messages on date of pick up. App needs to make sure host is clear on locations to avoid hassle for the guest when trying to enjoy vacation.

Worst car rental service ever. I tried using TURO for the first time last weekend. Being my first time renting there was a lot of information I didn’t have as a first time renter. My first booking was a no show. No response. I gave Turo a second chance and booked another car same day. TURO has so far charged my card over $1000 days after I returned the vehicle. This is for a weekend. There is no Live agent to talk to with billing disputes. Imagine the frustration I have been going through the whole week. Host can accuse you of every violation days after your trip is over. Plant stuff in the car. Take pictures and TURO will honor what they said based on pictures received days later. As a user I have been exploited and not heard. All the chat agents I have messaged asked for before pictures of every inch of the car. Which I only took 3 pictures per the live agent I was talking to at time of pickup. I was charged a smoking violation 72hours after returning the car. I have never smoked a day in my life. I have no way of proving that the host is lying to get money from me. I was also charged for cleaning violations when I received the car dirty from Host(RED) Before you have a chance to review or dispute a violation they automatically debit your account. I am currently waiting to hear back from all the emails i have sent. Being a person that rented from traditional rentals this App has so far been my worst nightmare. I need to talk to someone to that will listen.

Great way to earn extra money. I live in Downtown Indianapolis and live less than 1 minute from my job. I’m purchasing 2 newer cars that honestly I barely drive. I saw an ad for this app and it’s amazing. I make money renting out my cars that I barely drive anyways. You can set your own prices or you can go off of the recommended prices on the app. Personally I chose customized pricing on my newer more expensive car and used the app recommended pricing on my other car. You also get insurance coverage based off what you want. There are different “plans”. There is a 60 plan where you get 60% of all of the earnings and Turo takes 40% BUT they cover wear and tear, accidents, rental car, etc…There are varying plans all the way up to the 90 plan. This plan offers the least coverage BUT allows you to earn more per trip. It offers collision/comprehensive coverage with a $2,500 deductible ($0 deductible on the 60 plan), no rental reimbursement, etc… but allows you to get more profits. It’s nice you get to choose which plan is best for your needs and you can change it anytime.

Request an explanation. Some body help me out here in case I misunderstood something. Im a fair person and try hard to write true and factual reviews according to my experiences. Im all for supporting the locally owned businesses and prefer doing business with them. So In searching for a van rental for an upcoming trip I responded to a Turo add advising me to compare the lower prices and availability on car rentals through Turo. So after getting the prices from the major auto rental company’s I down loaded the app and started my search. My shock and confusion is all the higher prices and for much older vehicles the Turo results came back to me in respect to the rental companies. I don’t get it? Why should I pay more for an older van than the cheaper prices offered by the auto rental company’s for 2023 and newer? This is not to include all the hassle Turo requires preparing a user account with selfies holding your DL and such which I wouldn’t mind complying to ….but where’s the deal? From the results I got it sure isn’t in the price and product. I gotta be missing something here. So please some body needs to help show me whats the big benefit here using Turo before I rewrite and explain this more clearly for everyone’s benefit in a 1 star review and over social media. In the mean time I guess I’ll rent from one of the rental companies.

Tons of Headaches. I hate to say it but after using this app three times I’ll never be using it again. I have booked three trips on Turo and all three of them cancelled on me last minute leaving me in a tough position as all the rental car companies prices are 4 times what they would have been and Turo prices are also elevated. The third time at least Turo called me and found another vehicle for me to rent. So 4th times the charm I finally have a vehicle! Then I get the vehicle and the windshield is cracked and the tires are bald and I’m in Canada in the winter time. I end up spending $140 on chains just so I can get around and move at 30mph. I live in Colorado and I am accustom to driving in the snow, but if you have bald tires there is only so much you can do. Then to add insult to injury I return the vehicle and get more additional charges from a vindictive host. It’s absurd! I like innovative solutions and don’t particularly love rental car companies but the bottom line is a rental car company is better suited to renting cars than Turo. They have a stock of cars to pull from and they have standards to keep the vehicles in good shape. Turo has none of these things so if your car is cancelled then your are out of luck and then if you do happen to get a vehicle the vehicle I guess you just pray it’s in good condition so you can actually drive it. Then go ahead and expect a bunch of fees to be lobbed your way after the trip.

Turo mean less hassle!!. I have used Turo a few times now for family trips and when traveling with kids, ease of travel accommodations is essential. The entire process with Turo is user friendly from the beginning. The search, and selecting a car is step 1 and the details regarding specifics of each vehicle is user friendly. Fees and cost are up front and available to see, not hundreds of fees added at checkout. Prior to the trip a few minor steps to upload drivers license, etc is quick and can be done in a matter of minutes from your phone. Obtaining the car varies depending on location and host. I have been picked up and baggage claim or walked to shuttle and dropped at car. Both were seamless and zero hassle. Way less waiting and hassle than any car rental company I have ever dealt with. Beginning the trip requires documenting a few photos, again phone friendly steps and drive away! The return is as easy as returning to the prior spot and handing off the keys, and again a few pics. I typically pay for the cleaning service $20-25, I know I don’t want to wash and vacuum the car so much easier. That doesn’t mean leave trash!! Be respectful. Throw away your trash. Also, prior to each of these steps the host will send you written and often video instructions so nothing is confusing.

I love Turo. Turo was a blessing in disguise several years ago when I was traveling back home to NYC from Los Angeles. I flew into Newark airport to pickup my rental from a well known car rental company. I was a Preferred Member, paid for the rental in full and in advance, and as usual I would just walk to my rental, keys inside and drive off. Not that time. For some reason they tried to get another $500 out of me, although I already paid $600 for the rental during my stay in NYC. Told them to you know what…lol. Cancelled my rental, wrote the company and demanded my refund (and got that back). I remembered hearing about Turo, downloaded the app, and booked a vehicle for the same amount of days, for only half of what I paid for the other rental, and got a better vehicle anyway 😎👍🏽 I’ve been using Turo for several years now and by far, definitely the best rental car service out there. The rental car companies that have been around for decades are my very very very last option, and that’s if Turo isn’t available in a certain areas I’m traveling to, all the Turo cars are booked during my travel and the buses/trains are all shut down…lol. Thank you Turo. Highly recommended and FIVE STARS baby!!

Really depends on the host. As far as the concept of the app goes: awesome. There’s no massive deposits and holds on credit cards as there are with traditional car rental services. The app functions well. Communicating with the host is straight forward. There’s a before-and-after process during which you can provide pictures of the car and any damage that might exist before you pick it up, so you’re not held responsible for it. It’s nice. Well thought out. The downside is availability and consistency. Depending on the area you’re in, there might not be much available, if anything. For example, I’m in Auburn. There’s like. Nothing out here. But 40 miles away, in Columbus, there’s tons. Everything from Corollas to Teslas to high-end sports cars. The quality of hosts varies as well. I’ve had great luck, but I essentially found one good host and stuck to using them. I had another before that was…not great. I’m giving it five stars because the last part isn’t really within Turo’s control. As far as what Turo offers and claims, they hold up their end. I don’t use any other rental service at this point. Highly recommend.

First timers. We are new to the Turo community and at first we were skeptical about renting or car to complete strangers. However after doing more research and becoming more knowledgeable about how Turo vets all renters driving backgrounds, and authenticity; gave us peace and mind about who will be responsible for our car. Being informed about their different coverage options to best fit our needs also a huge plus. The app is very easy to navigate through and with step-by-step instructions, makes it easy check in and out of each trip. We’ve only had two trips booked with our car and at the rate we’re going, i know it’ll definitely be worth the while. Why not make money off your car if you don’t need it at the moment. Before apps like lyft, Uber and now TURO came out; the number one depreciating asset was a car. But now its an investment with being able to create income to pay for your car and make profits compared to constantly putting money into it. This rating is 100% real and honest, im not being paid or influenced by incentives; apps like this are created to help create a business and earn income from nothing into something and because of that, I want to make sure this review helps other people like me who want/need the extra income to support their family.

Rental Fraud in Philadelphia. We rented a Turo from the airport in Philly. The rental host was Eduardo. We picked up the keys from a lock box and received no instructions about the key fobs at all. We stopped at a gas station right outside of the airport for a drink and locked the car and took one of the key fobs with us. Evidently only one of the two fobs can be used to unlock the vehicle. That fob and our phones were locked in the vehicle. We had to borrow a phone and call a locksmith. We asked the host to split the $100 locksmith charge with us since he never communicated with us about the fobs. Eduardo was very rude, said it wasn’t his problem, and stopped responding to calls or texts for the remainder of our rental. Even at drop off we couldn’t get ahold of him. We gave him a 1 star review for his lack of communication and for blocking our calls while we were renting his car. We are not smokers and no one who rode with us ever smokes. The car did not smell like smoke before or after our rental. The host Eduardo was so mad about the 1 star review that he claimed we smoked in the car. We were charged a $300 cleaning fee and our account was blocked on Turo. This is not right! The man was running a scam and was mad that we left him a bad review. Up to this point, Turo has been no help. We have had a good experience with Turo in the past, but this experience has been horrible. Again the host was Eduardo in Philadelphia, PA.

As a Host.... First off, I want to say Turo is a great platform. UI is fairly easy to use, it’s fairly transparent in regard to allowing fluid conversion amongst guests, and I don’t think the fees are 𝘵𝘰𝘰 steep for what is offered... 𝘏𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳, with all of this said, Turo doesn’t do a great job at explaining what is covered under a collision, wreck, or even a fatal incident. I’ve searched far and wide in regard to trying to figure out if I would be held liable in a dire situation, or who specifically is at large... Do I need commercial insurance to be fully covered? Does the guest (renter) have to have full coverage as well when driving 𝘮𝘺 vehicle? Is a 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 background check competed when vetting guests/hosts? There is a lot of grey area and I think Turo has a lot to work on in regard to legality and liability. A basic premise is presented in front of me in regard to being a host when selecting a “protection plan”, but it’s not considered insurance... But the “protection plan” is provided via Liberty Mutual of which 𝘐𝘚 insurance... Multiple insurance agencies find fault in the Turo model, and some decline your coverage. So again, I literally flip a coin every time someone rents my vehicle, as I don’t know the full picture.

Very Easy Process. Loved using Turo while we were visiting Hawaii. We got exactly what we wanted and the process was very easy.

It works!. The main most important thing is that it works, there are enough cars and most hosts are good. I had to cancel a booking and I got a refund which was chill and made sense. Bit annoying that the true total cost estimate changes by a lot from the list screen to the confirmation screen, which means a lot of UI friction going back and forth. But that could be fixed easily if Turo is brave and honest.

Intuitive app that really helped us in a new city. Turo is such an easy app to use, and has helped us in a new city when we want to go away for weekend. Connect with car owners in close proximity to you easily and securely.

Forget car rental - Turo is terrific!. Such a great experience... 1st time user and would highly recommend this to friends & family.. It’s cost competitive and totally convenient... Well done Turo!

Highly recommended. Reached out to Jackie the night before. Communicated promptly and was so easy to deal with. Will rent from her again when I return.

Trip with Turo. Hi Team, I loved using Turo for the 1st time on my Trip to Honolulu. The App was easy to use and all went well. The only issue was I could not apply the $25 credit as a 1st time user of Jacky Kwans Jeep. Regards Con

Awesome. We used Turo twice and both owners were fantastic I would definitely recommend using

Turo Australia - get on board!. I loved using Turo in the States last year, the choice of vehicles was amazing and the convenience even better! Look forward to renting more cars with my travels and hopefully the range increases!

Great App !. I used the app first time and I was amazed by the variety of cars and very low prices (twice cheaper) compared to local rentals. Moreover, I extended my trip by one day and it was so easy to do within a few clicks in the app.

Turo. Great app and easy to use. Guides through the whole process and is user friendly.

Better than a rental car company!. Here you can find an amazing selection of exotic and fine cars - for the same price of an average car rental you can get a better one with turo!

The future of car hire.... This might have only been my first experience using the Turo app but it won't be the last. The first vehicle we arranged was cancelled by the owner and within an hour Turo was on the phone with me to see how they could assist!! That is service. By the time I got off the phone we had another vehicle arranged with no disruption to our plans, as we had only arrived from Australia the day before, so on this basis alone I would recommend Turo to anyone with confidence. Breached their own procedures, unauthorised charge. On using the app once for a uk trip, I received a fee when trying to resolve directly with a car owner via the app. The car owner was attempting to charge me £170 for a parking fee 4 months after the initial car rental. Totally out of the blue. Turo immediately processed the car owners request and subsequently charged me for the cost even though I was still working through a resolution. The owner gave me a weekend and told me I had enough time to resolve. Turo isn’t open at weekends. Turo puts car owners first and users last. Awful customer service. Breached their own procedures and took payment without even a notification. Some call that theft. Oh yes, and I live in the opposite side of the world calling at all hours to resolve.

Great app with plenty of choices. Great app and gave lots of options. Used this twice in our recent trip to Hawaii.

First time user. This was my first time using Turo and I found it easy to use with comparisons and locations.

Amazing app. I would highly recommend this renting service. It had amazing security checks to make sure you or the car owner does not get scammed. It’s really easy to use and the car owners are wonderful. Also Affordable hire prices, 10/10 would use again.

Aussie Travellers. Great setup. Car was waiting in car park when we exited the airport. Easy as. Must have 4WD for Mauna Kea and Waipio Valley. Beach gear was all we needed for snorkeling, boogy boarding and just sitting on the beach. It’s a tight squeeze fitting all the beach gear in plus luggage when you pick up from airport. It does fit but well worth the hassle.

Thanks Ahmed. Ahmed was a really easy to work with , the cars were great , I highly recommend if you are in the Austin area to use his services

Turo team is on point. Been using turo for years now and I appreciate how much they have innovated over the years looking for better and new ways to deliver the vehicles making a conscious effort in having an ease of return for all parties. Thank you!

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS APP. I’m an international visitor from Australia and provided authentic identification and debit card information, and was declined from booking a car. I was given NO information as to why I was ineligible to book a car. I messaged support and they said it’s their policy and that it’s an automated system which they cannot fix for international users. What a joke. How can I give all my personal information to a service that then declines my booking, and then doesn’t give me a reason to why I was ineligible. There were also many front end issues with the development of the app (I’m an app developer and this app is a jokeeee)

Great Experience. Turo is easy to use and simplistic. They take care of basically everything. Just make sure you review insurance cost before you make a decision on booking as the price of the car doesn’t include that. It’s not expensive comparatively to ordinary rental companies, but it should be taken into account.

Great app, easy to use!. The app is well laid out, easy to use and navigate through whatever you’re searching for and in whatever location. My first time using this app so I can’t say I’m a frequent user, but if I’m hiring a car next time this will be my first port of call.

Renter stole my car. My first experience and renting my vehicle through this service. First booked trip and now I have to report my vehicle as stolen. Company does not hold anything like a deposit and don’t think they do a background check on the renter. The staff that I was in communication with was helpful as they can be. The renter didn’t respond to many calls and and emails Stolen update: car was found in Adelaide after being driven from Melbourne

Wonderful app. What a great idea. I really enjoyed being able to use Turo while travelling recently. So much cheaper than hiring a car the traditional way. Really loved Jennifer’s Toyota Rav 4 in Ft Worth Texas. Would use again in a heartbeat.

So cheap!. Awesome app, saved us so much money. No deposit and if we crashed we were covered by our travel insurance. We rented a 2015 series 5 BMW in Hawaii. Car had an advanced Nav system with all the bells and whistles and even had HUD which made getting around easy as heck. $70 a day was awesome. Look for Kevin's BMW if you're in Hawaii. Awesome guy and car.

Feel scammed by host and Turo does not seem to care. Hired a car on our holiday to Canada. All was well and good until returning the car. Someone from the host company dropped us at airport, said all was good and that he would take the photos for us (sounds dodgy looking back now, but we were rushing to make a flight and the host dropped us at the wrong terminal). The following day we were contacted by turo saying the host put in a damage claim and we were losing half our deposit. We know we didn’t do this damage and feel silly for trusting the hosts. Even if we did do this damage, on pickup the host also clearly stated multiple times to not worry about small damages which this damage was. Will not be using turo again to avoid paying $500 for damage we didn’t do.

Awesome. First time user & it was so convent Check in/check out process was seamless. Definitely would use again when I travel

Turo recommendation. Turo is a great app, easy to use and an easy profile set up. We were in Hawaii and had plenty of options, also you are covered by the level of insurance you desire at the press of a button. I will be using Turo on future endeavours.

Such an awesome and easy app to use.. The whole process has been very seamless and easy, the app is very simple yet effective. Communication is great, never glitches, even liaising with people and stuff is simple. I have an issue, it was resolved within minutes. Would highly recommend. Ps -Such a cool and easy way to make extra cash from your car

We’ll organises and east to follow. Just completed my second trip as a host. App has been near flawless. Plenty of options to get help when needed.

The future of car rental is here!. What an absolutely fantastic way to rent a car! Highly recommended, will be using again for sure.

Great service. Highly recommend this option as opposed to rent from big companies

Good so far. I only gave four stars because the first car I booked the owner just cancelled with no notice However my next booking was perfect and I have no complaints

The app that should have always existed, and now does. Such a great concept. Always hated paying deposits on rentals from agencies. This app changes the game

Excellent alternative to rental Car companies. Turo is so much more cost effective than a rental company. You get to choose what you want to drive and the rates are so much better. Our experience in Hawaii was fantastic. Highly recommended.

First time user - Very impressed!!. As a first time user of Turo I was hopeful of a positive experience, and I was not disappointed! The host was very responsive, and everything was clearly explained in terms of pick-up and drop-off. My only constructive feedback would be that I having booked well in advance, which included ‘Free delivery’ I then had to pay almost £40 to get the vehicle out of the Car Park it had been left in!! Otherwise it was quick and easy to locate the vehicle and get going, and for a month-long hire it performed really well!! Having not used the App before I wasn’t aware of the need to take and upload heaps of photos of the car to demonstrate its condition…..and it was dark, and the car was dirty (winter in England and freezing temperatures, so roads covered in de-icing salt which caked the car in dirt) so the photos really didn’t show much! Will certainly look to use Turo again as it was so much more competitive than traditional car hire, and not much more complicated!!

Terrible app, good support. When I first booked with Turo the experience was ok. Then I had to change the renter to a family member as I couldn’t travel. It was a nightmare to navigate the app and its requirements. Can’t believe it could be so poor - not intuitive nor user friendly. The only reason I’d give it 2 stars rather than one is that the support was helpful in fixing problems, but far too much aggravation in the meantime. (I also notice that the reviews in the App Store which are positive are two to three years old. Wondering where the recent reviews are).

Application process is a nightmare/discriminative!. After creating an account and lodging the correct documentation/info for approval I was denied. I sent Turo support an email in order to rectify this. I received no email back after 6 days. I then spoke to ‘Javier’ via Turo’s live chat, who told me my application triggered a “verification hold” and that I needed to send him further documentation for verification..which I did. I then received an email saying my review had been denied and that there was no way to reapply/dispute this. I then contacted live chat again and spoke to ‘Daniela’ who reaffirmed that they currently do not allow for international disputes. Naturally, I was confused and frustrated given I had supplied all the necessary documentation and then some. I queried Daniela as to what specifically about my review was not approved. She tells me it’s an ‘automated process’ and that my “documents are okay and there is no issue with them..” However, “I think it is based on certain algorithm that was made to detect flags associated with the creation of an account”. So Turo, please tell me what it is about application/profile you deem unroadworthy..

Great App and easy to use. Found a great car which was perfect at a reasonable rate and will use again.

BOOKING NIGHTMARE. I understand that turo just launched in Australia however there are many issues. 1. Many listings that use stolen images of cars and don’t show what the actual car looks like in the listing 2. My booking was cancelled last minute before my trip to melbourne. (This isnt turos fault but the host’s fault). While turo tried to be very helpful there isnt much they can do when most luxury vehicle host need ahead of time notice and cant book last minute. 3. When the turo system detected two hosts cancelled on me they froze my account which further prevented to to secure another booking before my trip. (This issue is definitely turo’s fault). I was told by support the cancellations caused a verification issue. However I can guarantee I am fully verified on the app. Turo Host Review in Sydney/Melb so far: 1/5 Turo Customer Support Review: 3/5

Great service and great price. Turo makes renting a car cheap and hassle free. Renting a car can be expensive and we found that by renting through Turo we saved about 50% of renting through the big car rental companies. Turo makes communicating with the cars owner easy. Would definitely use Turo for all future car rentals.

Fantastic car rental solution. This was my first Turo experience and I’m so glad that everything went so smoothly! Easy to book and super easy to make changes and communicate with along the way. I’ll definitely be using Turo next time I’m back in the US. (It was also kind of nice driving a slightly older car that had a bit of wear- it made me feel more relaxed for some reason!)

10/10 experience. FANTASTIC!! And highly recommend My fist time using this great app and I can’t speak highly enough! The car was 10 out of 10! Electric everything beautiful everything and a real head turner! I’m from Australia and could use my AUS MasterCard debit with no issues and signing up was a breeze Absolutely seamless pick up and drop off with a easily contactable host that I could ask question while I had the car, would hire this BMW again and again. 10/10

Great for travelling. We used Turo twice on our recent family holiday to the US from Australia, it’s a brilliant service (we only used top rated hosts). We got to hire some truly unique cars for incredibly reasonable prices that just wouldn’t have been possible with a normal rental car place, plus we were able to meet one of our hosts outside the arrival and departure gate at the curb.

Great experience. This was our first time using the app after not being able to find a suitable car at an appropriate cost while in LA. The app had great car options and provided certainty over the model of car which was important for us. It was easy to use and the host was great. Ended up with a great car at great value. Would definitely use again!

Tesla Model 3. Hire of the Tesla for the day was even better than could have imagined. Despite being met on arrival and instructed on all details was a bit overwhelming at first with all driving aids on the centre screen and driving on the other side of the road. Enjoyed immensely & would highly recommend. Aussie Doug

Game changer. Simply put I won’t be using major car rental companies anymore not that I’ve discovered Turo. The process is infinitely easier than sifting through the mine field of corporate car rental companies that all look the same. Turo is a game changer for me and it is certainly my new preferred was to rent a vehicle.

Love Turo, it’s the future. Turo is a great app, easy to use and will change the future if car ownership/ car sharing, highly recommend!!

Pretty convenient. Loved the app it’s easy to use and way better than using a regular car rental company and you get to pick the car you actually want so 100% recommend this app

First time used it. Easy and super cheap will definitely use again

Fees and charges are too expensive. You can’t even rent the car for one day on weekends which is unaccetable. Turo’s fees are also ridiculously expensive.

Worst renting experience.. Buyer be aware, DO NOT book from Turo! I booked a car one month early to have everything planned for a big event for my Fiancé. 3 HOURS! before I go pick-up the car I contacted the seller to make sure everything is okay and I find that the seller has sent their car to the repair shop and Turo didn’t contact me once about the car not being available or even having the courtesy to book me another car for such an inconvenience. They simply waited for me the guest to find out about this and then contact them to issue a refund wasting my time and money. Unreliable, unprofessional and down right abysmal company. Save your money and time.

Unreliable and poor. There is always a chance the Host will cancel last minute (Happened to me) and the customer service will refund you but trust me that’s all the service you are getting. If the guest cancels within 24 hrs there are extra charges but apparently the guest does not get anything else apart from original booking amount if it’s the other way around. Either cancel all your plans or you end up paying more from your pocket for a last minute reservation

Crooks. DO NOT USE. Management are crooks and will charge you without your permission or consent. Stay far far away.

No line ups. Awesome so far. So glad this exists and works!

car owners cancel last minute. the last two car owners cancelled last minute and really left me in a bind :( i’m going to sign up for another car sharing app

Glitchy app. I have a hard time with the app. It constantly logs me out of host mode and I can’t get back in. I have no idea how to access my tax forms but I need that so I can do my taxes this evening. Doubtful that’s going to happen.

Insurance is fake. Please do not believe in TURO’s insurance. It does not exist. That table they show does not say the truth. If you use a car and have a little scratch you will have to pay for 3000 dollars... and the car owner is all over you asking you to pay also expensive money for a little scratch. I am very disappointed to this app. The insurance people make sure to put you and the owner of the car against each other and make sure the owner charge you directly ... it’s like a trap... terrible. Someone needs to say about this.

Cheap Liar Rental Trash. DO NOT USE IT, OR YOU WILL BE HIGHLY POSSIBLY IN TROUBLE It seems to be like car -version Airbnb, but this Turo crap is totally a cheap joke. I have to pay $2000 as an accident victim to Turo, after getting into a rear-end collision, even though purchasing a protection plan. The collision centre and police decided that it was 100% other driver’s fault. After a month, Turo told me that they would charge me $2000, regardless of whose fault it was. I contacted the other side’s insurance company, and they opened a file and willing to cover the whole cost. However, Turo insisted that this is the so-called “Protection Plan” policy that it is charging the guest regardlessly. Turo does not show you the clean information during the order process, and delivers an illusion that you’ve purchased an insurance to protect the trip, however, it is a pure trap to only protect the company itself, and asks the guests to pay for everything. Dear peer user, please please think twice before deciding to use it instead of a traditional agent. You should hope you are lucky enough to finish the trip. Otherwise, you have to pay any unexpected bill even as a victim. The company will try any possible way to treat you as an enemy, and threaten you with their “professional” service. Believe me, no body wants to experience this horrible trash ever, ever.

Worst customer service. Car broke on the middle of the highway. They did nothing to help the owner did nothing as well. Turo Insurance is fake and after you book they don’t care about anything during your booking. They told on the phone they will be covering the expenses of the towing the car and off course didn’t happen didn’t even call back to see if we were ok.

Horrible company / service. Avoid this app at all cost they hire transunion a credit company to give a history of your insurance - which btw is not even accurate - without your consent. Then they deny you membership for no reason. They literally do not give a reason. You’re better off renting from a car rental these guys are horrible.

Overpriced & lots of ways for them to up charge!!. Honestly don’t use this service and just go to a proper car rental company- I have had some horrible experiences and the customer service is basically non existent from Turo itself

Turo not worth the trouble. DON’T USE THIS APP. The host Thiruvaran A. Is a SCAM and Turo only favours themselves and the host, they don’t do anything helpful for the Guest who is renting it. My car broke down on the highway and I had an infant in the car. The host (Thiruvaran A.)agreed to swipe the car, he canceled the trip and charged me for the used fuel and claimed the damage for which I have to pay.The customer service only has one thing to say, “At this point they cannot do anything”. They also don’t have any supervisor anytime

Terrible Customer Service. Do not download. If I could give 0 stars I would. Rented the for the first time and the host claimed a scratch when in fact it was not true. Barely drove the car during our trip however customer service was terrible and didn’t resolve issue. Wouldn’t recommend. It’s not the same service as Airbnb because Airbnb protects their guests and they’re sooo much better. Lost money even though we paid for insurance. Went back and forth so many times with customer support and they still took the hosts side. We were basically scammed from the host and TURO believed it. Also what a joke of an automated email they send when you write a review lol. The email they provide doesn’t even go through when I respond back to help resolve this issue. Learn from me and don’t rent from them.

Useless support. I had a thousand problems with my car, support said I should, be taken a video. No video, too bad for me. Car was dirty, guy was 15 mins late, my messages never got answered. The car is falling apart, makes big noise when accelerating, makes big noise while braking, window super dirty, radio and air conditioning not working, window handle broken, pieces of the radio falling down in hills. Overall super bad experience

Shady. Provide all your personal information along with credit card details just to have an account and then you can’t rent and they will not tell you why. Perfect driving record for over 30 years no ticket no accident and I’m in my late 40’s.

Worst app ever. Tried to book a car for my honeymoon. Waited 8hrs for host to confirm only to learn he no longer owned the car and the app would not allow him to remove the listing. Then booked another car and Turo cancelled the trip since it was my first book and my account was being verified. Talked to multiple customer service reps. It’s been a whole day and I still don’t have a booking. Don’t bother.

Horrible customer service. Customer service is non existence. Even when they agree that there is an error in their system they dont do anything about it and suggest you to cancel your trip and even pay the cancelation fee! So much of customer service.

Hustle and bustle. I tried to rent a car for an emergency but they did put my profile in verification (understandable). I sent them all the documents needed and pictures requested. Now it’s 48h and they did not verify my profile. This is ridiculous but if you are planning on getting a car for last minute emergency please avoid and go to well known companies.

Scam alert. They gave me a car that wasn’t road worthy they don’t inspect cars before giving it to the customers, wasted my time, and took money from me in the name of cancellation fees. Do not waste your time and money on this application they provide terrible customer service.

Insurance is a scam!. Rented a car and got a chip in the window. Charged the owner 250$ and me 750$ and I had a quote to do mobile repair for 199$. It’s just a rip off and I will never use Turo again.

Terrible Customer Service. If you’re thinking of putting your car up on Turo, do NOT do it I was a host for a few weeks until a guest got a flat tire which should have been a simple fix but it ended up taking 3 weeks for Turo to settle the issues. I had no car and no communication. I had to chase customer service for 2 weeks and they just pawn off the issue to the next person, sending you in circles The experience has been a nightmare working with them

Headache. Customer service is the worst, issues never get resolved you get sent directly to a chat service even when you call the toll free number. The agents all have the same set responses and will tell you best they can do is pass you on to another department. Turo reps will apologize, Thank you for being apart of their “community” and that’s it.

The worst customer service ever. Our trip canceled one day before trip and I got 60$ credit to book another car. There were no more car with the same price. Also wanted to book one but application error and then I called Customer service again, they forced us to use online chat, it took more than 3 hours and askes me for ao many usless verifications. I also registered my app and booked before but they keep asking. At the end, they said, we will inform you in 2-3 business day. Imagine tomorrow I have trip and I booked everything for 3 days, thay juat want to let me know in 3 days that I can book a car or not. Such a ridiculous customer service and method that ruined our trip.

Trash company, trash team, trash app. Don't ever try to download this app. They won't let you book cars for no reason. Customer service is trash. They can't and won't solve any problem that you have. Keep yourself away from here. Try only rent cars with those big and legit rentals. This turo trash is gonna die soon.

No one picks up. Worse customer service in CANADA! I’ve been calling for a week a NO ONE PICKS UP 😡

Beware of being charged without your consent. This company clearly favours their hosts over their guests. I rented a car which got a parking ticket that I wasn’t even aware of. The host informed me and we agreed that he would give me the time to dispute the charge. He ends up escalating the charge anyway (???) and then I get an email that my card has been charged because TURO verified on their end that the charge is legit. So they went ahead and charged me $108 WITHOUT MY CONSENT. Basically I was given no chance to discuss the charge or figure out what my options are. Now I have to beg the host to take his escalation back and that is how Turo will reverse the charge. This is horrible customer service and how is it even legal to charge someone without their consent??? These guys are crooks. Never booking with them again.

Terrible app. First of all, Turo deserves no stars. Turo has the absolute WORST customer service and app to exist. They don’t care at all about their customers or customer satisfaction. My account has been verified, allowing me to drive, however I can’t rent a car. Every customer service agent I spoke with has told me that “we do not disclose proprietary information regarding the details of our internal review process. This decision was based on information acquired during the verification of your account. There is no way to dispute this decision.” That is the absolute worst service… your account can be restricted but it’s against policy to say why so there is no resolution…terrible app, terrible service, terrible company. They are not the best rental car company, they are the most unprofessional, stressful, rude and inconvenient car rental company.

Very poor customer service. I’ve rented cara on Turo 3 times, and had issues all three times. On the last 2 rentals the problems required that I contact customer service and they were the worse. Both times I was charged some unfair extra fees. I’ll use some other app or services from now on.

Not worth the depreciation of my car, or my time. The amount $ received per km is way too low, even if I increased the price Turo was suggesting (it was ridiculously low!). Also you have to meet with the person getting and returning, so it’s very inconvenient. I rented my car 2 times and am unlikely to do it again. Not worth it.

Don’t give anything. I rented my car the someone broke the clutch and you don’t want to give me something to help me pay the repairs so my opinion is that your company is not good. I will tell everyone I know.

Horrible Customer Service. Every single member of my family tried to book a car for an upcoming trip. We all got the same error message. We all contacted customer service (a chat bot) and was told our case would be expedited. We never heard back. Beyond frustrating. Despite having positive experiences in the past, I hesitate to recommend Turo to anyone given how bad this experience was. I could not get a direct email address for anyone or get a human being on the phone. Deeply disappointed.

Bad customer services. The car that I booked was defective broke down due to no fault of my own in the middle of nowhere. Their roadside assistance lied to me when asked if I was able to leave which created a huge inconvenience for me as I waited for hrs. Because the car broke down before I wasn’t able to complete the trip the host charged me with $28+ tax which I would have to pay. Now when I called Billy from the Quebec location he had me on hold for majority of the call to look into my file after explaining to billy that the trip created a huge inconvenience for me and the expenses that came up from a faulty car he spat on me by saying to talk to the host about the reimbursement after arguing with him for another 10 mins he told me he can only give me $25.00. The trip for 2 days was “over $91.00. I stress to billy that as a result of the inconvenience I was out money for making arrangements to get picked up, a babysitter and my lost wages he then chuckled and said he is now able to do $35.00. The worst customer service ever, when I told him he was essentially making a mock of me I ask him to speak with a manager or floor supervisor, he said that there is no one available which is blatant lie. It’s a call centre there is always someone supervising the floor. The host was wonderful but the staff at turo have no respect for the company or their clients. They treat their customers like joke and try the best way to get them off the phone. Every time I ask for manager billy stated that they’re aren’t available and someone will give me call. I kept asking for a estimate time of when I would be able to receive this call, he wasn’t able to provide me that. He is very condescending and I felt like a joke dealing with him. If this is what turos staff and customers service is like, I’m not comfortable doing business with them anymore what if I got into an accident and had serious injuries this is the same treatment I would get huh?! Atrocious!!!

The worst. *Impossible to speak with agent. *Can only hope that you rent your vehicle to good people. Ridiculous user fees. ***Please! someone create competition!! Maybe that will force this company to at minimum hire a human competent enough to have and use a phone. Over a year with no resolution or even a response to a request made for compensation from a client who abused rental privileges. Abuses included significant mileage over-use, returning my Lexus RX nearly a day late, text and verbal abuse when trying to receive compensation from client. Multiple attempts to find any resolution from turo. The above is not an isolated incident. There is literally a third party site which dedicated itself to finding a phone number and steps needed to speak with a customer service agent if needed. You need to google Turo Phone number though.

Scammed by Turo. Please don’t rent from the app!!! I rented a car on Turo in Vancouver. Immediately upon driving the car we noticed that when turning right, the front left wheel would loudly squeak. When we brought it back the owner claims we scratched his rim which we did not, the rims had all kinds of scratches. He proceeded to tell us that it would be $200 to fix and asked us to pay cash. We asked for him to have a mechanic invoice (even though we didn’t agree with the whole situation and felt we were being scammed). He sent an invoice an hour later stating exactly $200+tax. We found it really sketchy that considering he said he’s never rented his car before or had this issue, knew exactly how much to the dollar, what it would cost to fix a scratched alloy rim. We thought it was weird so we decided to let the claim go through Turo instead. To our absolute surprise we got an invoice from Turo for $1013!! For a scratch on a rim, even though we clearly have the first mechanic invoice stating $200. We tried to ask many times why the sharp increase in price, there was no answer other than a detailed invoice with a million different charges adding up to $1013. 5x the price from the first invoice and anyone with common sense knows a scratch on a rim is NOT that price. You can replace all the rims for that price especially considering the rims were super cheap and flimsy to begin with. The customer service was HORRIBLE. No one was able to help us and everyone was SO rude. They charged the amount without any consent right off of our credit card. Complete disaster. Please don’t use this App.

Horrible. Horrible company horrible customer service, driver started a fraudulent claim claiming i damaged the car but I absolutely did not. Beware

Turo. Attention Better Business Turo share vehicle... if you want to be liable for $2000 out of pocket for a $200 rental Ridiculous insurance claims No spear tires and the cost is your not the owner of the vehicle not turo insurance... why would anyone want the risk of this criminal entity who’s host track their vehicle and break into the vehicle to steal iPhone and wallets.. using extra keys Turo and some of their host are organized crime groups. RCMP attention CSIS attention

Déception. Y a rien de bon dans cette application pas un service client on peut pas résoudre un problème en plus y a rien de vrai dans tous qu il dise dans leurs conditions d utilisation

Absolutely poor customer service. Don’t bother using this horrible app. Go rent elsewhere.

DO NOT use under any circumstance!. Don’t believe the fake positive reviews here. Check out their reviews online for the horrible truth. A scamming company with terrible customer service. The app is poorly designed and doesn’t function properly too.

Choose ANY option but Turo. >> Please read before using Turo << I just finished my first Turo rental, and to the point – I urge you to find ANY other option for renting a car. The gal I rented from was wonderful and so was her car, but the car was broken into on the first day. Dealing with customer service at Turo after that was an absolute NIGHTMARE. Where to begin…being harassed at 6AM on a Saturday morning while on holiday, hundreds of dollars in hidden fees, refusing to extend the rental duration despite the owner being fine with it…the list goes on. Once again, a great idea is ruined by terrible customer service and ‘gotcha!’ small print. If nothing goes wrong during your rental, whether you’re a host or a renter, you’ll probably be fine. But things don’t always go perfectly, and you’ll read nothing but nightmares on both sides when things go wrong. Turo was a great idea ruined by greed, poor execution, and deceptive policies hidden in the small print. I look forward to another company coming along and doing it right. ** A follow-up 2 days later ** The moment I got home I paid the $500 deductible, believing I’d never have to deal with Turo again. No such luck. I immediately received threats that there could be more fees coming, and would I like to coordinate with their collections department so it doesn't affect my credit rating. Are you kidding me? This company employs predatory tactics to shamelessly exploit fear of credit reprisals to pressure customers into registering like deadbeats with their collections department. I’m betting this is the first step to discovering more small print and excuses to charge me further. There’s no question in my mind this is a common practice at Turo, and I strongly encourage you to find ANY other solution for renting a car. Literally anything. A mule and cart if you have to – it'll be less stressful in the end.

Love the app. I have used the app as a guest and as a host. By for one of my favourite apps to use. Customer service is very helpful just as long as you do your own due diligence (i.e taking as many pictures before and after trips)

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNRELIABLE BOOKING AND HOSTS. if on a vacation never ever trust this platform as it gives you a headache to book a car to get a round the city and literally take them forever to respond to your emails and you would probably end up like me with a bunch of cancelled plans because you couldn’t arrange a rental.

DONT RENT. Prices are very good but as soon as you set up an account it says you are verified than when you try to book it charges you than credits you and cancels your booking. Says your account needs to be verified. Went thru 5 different chat customer support at 5 different times of the day because I need this car within the 24hr period. I had booked a week ago and everything was fine and one day before the trip it got cancelled saying I need to verify my account. Upto now I’m still waiting to be verified. I’m so disappointed how long it takes to get set up yet I provided everything include selfie holding my license! Now I don’t have a car for the weekend.

Best app to rent vehicle. Easy to use and good way to find good cars

ZERO professionalism or service. If you can reach Turo support as a guest in under 5 minutes in Canada then you have a gift. If you do happen to actually speak to someone then it will be a painful experience with no resolution An all round terrible experience Delayed car Delayed trip Terrible customer service Absolutely no differentiation

Worst service ever for host. Be careful when re bring your car of the Guest happens to get stuck out of the City you will Have to pay for Towing mine was 2000$ worst expérience ever with Turo took out my cars right away. They are There to take your money and thats it

Bad Customer Service. Turo’s customer service is worst than any services like Uber, Airbnb etc

The future of car rentals!. To all reading this please make sure to take pictures of the car before and after! Otherwise enjoy this app it’s amazing!!

Hope it spread all over the world. This is like the "uber" or the "airbnb" of car rentals!

Pretty okay but..... I’ve used Turo around eight times since last year. Haven’t had too much of a bad experience.. until lately. All of these updates but there is still no update to where you can ask an owner questions about the car you are interested in renting (or other questions you may have) without having to check out and having your card charged for the car in questions (IF the owner doesn’t have to approve the trip, this can go badly). This needs to be addressed especially a feature for owners if they will be out of town and/or unavailable although the car is listed as available for the dates you need a car. I’ve had an instance where I rented a car but the owner told me that she would be out of country on those dates.. therefore, I had to wait for my money to return to my account and it screwed my account royally with the second car I’ve rented. I like you guys and what you offer but.....Take care of the little feature Turo! They matter! P.S. Find a way to get your services in NY. Renting all the way in NJ can be a hassle.

Great first experience!. Had a nice first impression, being able to see a wide range of options near me from the get go was a good way to start the process. The sign up process was a bit of an issue but I think that it was in my end. I’d love to talk more with Turo’s team to learn more about it myself. It was convenient to use the app as well, the owner of the vehicle lives much closer to me so pickup was seamless. He was kind enough to drop my friend and me home at night. The car was clean and well kept. I also feel knowing the person who owns the car helps me drive it better and more carefully as well (safety first always.) I don’t know about how reliable this process is but I feel it has a more human effect than renting from a company is so I would like to take that approach. ( I also acknowledge that I am in a place of privilege so my experience is just that, my experience. ) I look forward to using the app again and wish Turo’s team gets to flex their creative muscles more!

Bad experience. Before today, I’ve never had a bad experience with Turo. I reserved a Tesla Model 3 no problem for my father who isn’t very tech savvy and 8 hours from the trip, I get told that the car had a tire pressure issue all of a sudden and it’s been in the shop for the past 3 days and it won’t be getting out in time for my trip… okay? That would have been nice to know before I had all of my plans made out around getting the car. So now I’m $300 in with no car. Luckily, the only positive of this whole thing is that I get to use that money towards my next rental. So I find another car that I can rent for the same time and book it. This time I paid a little more for this car, now I’m about $500 in. I go to sleep and wake up with a lovely message that I’m “not approved to drive” all of a sudden and he cancels the trip. So now I’m $500 in with plans for an hour after I get the car and have no guaranteed car. So I try and rebook another car, now with a later time and then the app says “We need a little more info” so I click next and the entire thing just freezes and doesn’t let me finish checking out. Honestly, I’m super angry with this process. How are you going to let me spend $500 and now I have to cancel my plans?

Pickup vs Return Hours. I’m an All Star Host and I just wanted to pitch the suggestion of the separation of the pickup and return hours. For example U-Haul is only open from 7 AM to 7 PM most days..BUT you can use their app to do an after hours return at any hour of the night. Why can Turo not be the same? I just had a guest who cancelled their trip randomly and I asked them why; their response was because they only wanted the car from 10 AM to 10 PM the same day but it couldn’t be booked because they didn’t know my pickup and return hours are set for 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Those hours for my business are operational hours that I’m available to help with guests, as well as when I’m able to get cars ready. It would make so much sense if I could have my pickup hours 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, but drop off could be anytime for the guest because I am not needed for anything to drop off a vehicle unless there is a super big issue. Just imagine how many other folks are cancelling their trips because of that. Just food for thought.

Awful service, unreliable hosts. I was optimistic about using this service as an alternative to expensive rental agencies, especially for a last minute trip. However, I spent nearly 5 hours trying to reserve a car, and went through 3 hosts. Cars listed on the site suddenly became unavailable after booking. One host cancelled after description of vehicle wasn’t accurate and I was charged $70 cancellation fee. The worst is Turo’s customer service. First agent I spoke to regarding fee was unhelpful and referred me to “Dave” who proceeded to talk over me in a condescending way and refused to refund me for the host canceling the reservation. He was one of the worst call center representatives I’ve ever talked to—literally had to tell him to stop talking so I could be heard. He reluctantly said someone from Turo would email me within 48 hours-that was days ago. Will be calling again. I would’ve liked to have had a pleasant experience with Turo but charging customers when HOSTS CANCEL is a really crappy business practice, and condescending representatives turned me off completely. You’re awful, Turo. BTW, ended up going with Enterprise car rental. They were excellent and dropped the car off at my hotel and matched Turos average price after I explained how awful they were. Good luck to those moving forward with this app.

Bad experience. I was very excited when my husband told me we could save by renting a car for our family through a newly found application. So we registered, ordered a car, paid upfront for a whole week since they offer a discount for that. As we arrived to the pick up place, I’ve noticed the exterior of the car ( Dodge Caravan) had some weirdness to it like one of wheel cover missing, dust etc like it wasn’t prepared for a client. I needed a car ASAP so decided not to concentrate on small issues. I was told to confirm my arrival and take pictures inside and out and odometer for the record. Inside was dirty, smell was terrible, heavy smell of weed, cigarettes whatever, drove less than a mile, and realized I wasn’t gonna take it for a day not mentioning a week. Also the gas tank was less than a half way full. And there are a lot of rules regarding full tank, mileage and cleanness, I didn’t want to be responsible for those things. The main part was the horrible smell and how dirty it was and my oldest kid has an asthma I couldn’t let her suffer inside of the car. Called Turo right away trying to cancel the trip, wasted more than an hour through customer service, finally they said my money will be refunded, but 10 days later still no refund, no one contacted and don’t answer my emails. No phone number.

Thieves!!. I rented from the platform for two weeks while visiting Chicago (where I paid almost as much in "trip fees" as I did for the rental price itself) and was just involuntarily charged $103 for an unconstitutional ticket that I did NOT consent to paying and did NOT have the opportunity to contest! I was given almost NO time to respond to the invoice (as I was away on business and could not respond due to obligations over the weekend) and customer service just went ahead and charged me before I could even argue my case! Red Light Cameras were recently ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL and tickets generated by them can NOT legally be enforced - therefore speed cameras are also unconstitutional under the same pretense. The owner of the vehicle should NOT have had to pay the ticket and should have reached out to me about it BEFORE paying so I could have had an opportunity to contest. Additionally, the ticket does NOT prove the identity of the driver, which is REQUIRED to hold someone accountable for a crime (it is the burden of proof of the city to prove the crime was committed as well as the identity of the offender - there must be a clear shot of the license plate AND a shot of the driver's face in order to reasonably prove that the driver is responsible). Barring the possibility of having that $103 refunded to me immediately, I am SERIOUSLY turned off to using Turo to rent a vehicle again.

Convenient. What an awesome idea! I needed a car for a couple days after wrecking mine and having it in the shop. I had no idea what I was going to do about transportation because a rental is way too expensive. Someone told me about this and wow! There’s a lot of options of really nice cars, for all different needs. The price point is pretty nice, not overwhelmingly high. Each owner has their own separate rules surrounding certain things. But the process of selecting the car, adding additional insurance, and then communicating with the owner is a breeze. The app makes sure both the owner and the person renting the car are covered, by directing you to take pics of the outside and interior of all aspects of the vehicle. The messaging center is very easy to use and communicate whenever needed. Any information needed or questions can also be easily accessed. All around a great idea, user friendly app, and much cheaper alternative to going through a rental car service

Worst Customer Service Ever. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! This must be the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. A lugnut snapped off while I was changing a flat tire on a rental. I was more than happy to pay for a replacement. I received a bill one month later for $2,000 with no notice or explanation from one of their agents. I immediately replied twice within 24 hours attempting to dispute this claim. I was instead ignored for OVER A MONTH, as no one from their company ever replied to me. INSTEAD, one month later they charged my account for the full price with no notice again. I was immediately frustrated and furious and tried to contact their customer support. I was told a manager would get in touch with me as soon as possible. INSTEAD, a whole week went by with no one contacting me, so again I had to be the one to reach out to them and ask why no one was responding. A supervisor finally replied back. I explained to him why I was frustrated, and once again I hear no reply from them to this day. They completely ignored me, took my money, and still continue to ignore me even after I’ve reached out to them several times in attempt to dispute. God forbid something happens to you while you are using their app and you have to go through customer service because it will be impossible for you to get in contact with anyone.

Better than Avis, enterprise, or budget. This is a great app. It makes renting a car pretty simple and straightforward. They do have A LOT of hidden costs and fees that make the price much closer to the big car renting companies prices, but it’s still cheaper than them. There are also a lot of different options for cars as far as luxury and exotic and muscle and sports cars, as well as some classic cars. Of course that depends on the location where you are renting. In LA there was a 6 wheel G class Mercedes as well as a perfect looking ‘72 Torino and a Aventador, those cars are of course much more than an Accent or a Civic. So far the hosts have all been very good at communicating and have delivered with a clean vehicle ready to go. I have not had to use any of the in app help fewtures so I cannot tell you how their insurance claims procedures go or how a complaint gets resolved. I am hopeful that if something happens they are on point with it, because they sure charge a premium on top of the listed rental prices, so I hope all that money is buying some kind of service. For now though it is “so far so good”

Everything’s great… until it’s not.. I had a great first experience with Turo. However, my second rental was about the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. I rent dozens of cars a month for productions. On this occasion, I figured I’d rent something cool instead of the regular rental cars. Arriving at the place, I picked up the car and began to head out. A few minutes in I almost slid off the road in slightly wet conditions. It freaked me out and I pulled over thinking it was a flat. I discovered the tires were 100% bald on the car. I immediately returned it and spoke to the host. They apologized and understood. I called turo and tried to get it cancelled and a refund. They kept sending me from calls to text to chat. After 2 days and dozens of calls by both myself and the host I finally got through. After another 45 minute phone call they gave me like a 70% refund and kept the rest. They said I had to follow up again with another team to request a full refund. Still not resolved after spending 2 days chasing them down. The customer service reps were awesome but there policies are worse than any rental car company and that’s saying something as we all know rental car companies are crooked! I can’t recommend and won’t be using this again.

STAY AWAY !!!. If you want to use it then go ahead. I do hope you’ll have a better experience then I did. I tried using their services twice and no luck. First time I booked a vehicle, got to the pickup site and the owner of the vehicle didn’t even live there anymore, and the car I reserved he didn’t own anymore. Apparently the owner said he cancelled his Turo account years ago. Then the second time which is today as I’m writing this Jan 19, 2019. Tried to give them a second chance I booked another vehicle, arrived at the pick up site message the owner of the vehicle I’m outside his place then received a message saying the trip has been canceled by the owner. I’ve been messaging the owner a day before the pickup date to make sure everything is a go. Well it wasn’t. I called Turo about both problems. First time they refunded me back my money then credit my account and offered to rebook me a vehicle. The second time they offered to rebook me, refund me and send me a check in the mail to reimburse me the money for the uber ride I had to take back home. Im not saying don’t use the app cause maybe you’ll like it but I’m definitely saying DONT USE THIS APP cause I won’t you experience what I have but again it’s your choice and I wish you luck.

BEWARE. Do NOT use Turo!. Ive used Turo 12 times through work and my personal account the past 3 years or so. Every time had been wonderful, until now. I returned my car today and was hit with a $167 bill for “pet cleaning” claiming I had a pet in the car. I did not have a pet in the car.. I flew from california without any animals to where I rented the car. The “evidence” was a photo of the back of the drivers seat with exactly 5 small white pieces of hair on the back. Nowhere else in the car. These probably came off my clothing is my best guess… or they were there before. I disputed since Turos policy said “excessive pet hair” must be present for this type of cleaning fee and Turo has responded that they found the claim to be true and I must pay the fee. The lack of customer support is appalling as this car owner is just trying to make an extra dollar and the car itself smelled like a giant cigarette, which was disgusting. I know Turo has no true control of how car owners act, but I trusted Turo as a company to support their customer, the renters, and clearly they do not. I was the very first person to rent through Turo with the man who rented his car to me, so they choose to support him instead of someone who’s been using their services for years. It’s disgusting, terrible service and I will never use it again.

So easy, no hassle, and no waiting in line!. I was super skeptical about trying this service since we were flying from California to OKC to begin looking at Colleges. I priced cars through the basic rental companies (Hertz you on the price, Enterprise, not in my Budget, etc.) and since we would be driving from OKC to see OSU, Texas A&M, and Texas tech; I needed a comfortable vehicle that allowed for luggage, good gas mileage, and can take across the state lines. I messaged the host told him my plans and he had NO issues with me driving to Texas and I had up o 1800 miles. The drop off and pick up is soooo easy and the cost was half of what is would of been with the other brick and mortar rental companies. This was the first time I used Toro, and I will always use this service going forward! I highly, highly recommend anyone to check this out before booking at one of the other services, you don’t pay as much for one and I still purchased the additional insurance protection that still the total price I paid was half of what it would of been!

BEWARE!!!!. Within 10 hours of hosting my car in this app my car was wrapped around a tree in Vermont. What followed was one of the most insane, traumatizing, and ridiculous experiences of my life. The guest who crashed it did not call me for over an hour and was more worried about calling Turo to find out his liability, he didn’t call the police until I forced him 3 hours later. He eventually left my car wrapped around the tree and turned his phone off. This app has no direct number to call for major emergencies, and when you do get through you get a call center in the Philippines reading of a sheet. This is what guidance you have to go through losing a prized possession. Apart from that, Turo ‘insurance’ uses ACV (actual cash value) so you have NO CHANCE of ever getting anything close to what you have purchased your car go, none at all. I’ve lost 14k on my Audi I bought 7 months ago. The goon who crashed my car got a speeding tickets the night before he crashed, and was speeding in the snow when he crashed mine. He had one non-perfect review, which Turo does not let you read, which could have been related to his ability to drive an automobile properly. This guest is free to rent on Turo again…be knowledgeable of what you risk before downloading this app.

Not for the consumer. I would highly recommend not using Turo if you can at all cost. Don’t get me wrong, they are great if you are the owner of the vehicle! But not so much of you are the guest. First, they literally charge you double if you do not have your trip booked at least a week in advance. Of course they have a fancy name for this charge as it is called a “Trip fee”. But it is nothing more than Turo charging you again at 100% of the price of the trip. Just for it to all go into their pockets. Secondly, I recently found out that Turo will charge you a FULL additional day if you want/need to extend your trip by, let’s say, 30 MINUTES! Yes. You read that correctly. Requesting an additional 30 minutes will cost you a complete day (including another 100% mark up of a “Trip fee” . Now mind you, they make it so easy to modify your trip in the app. Which means they they are once again dipping their hands into your bank account and simply stealing from you. Feel as you will about this review, however, I do not believe it is morally right and probably not legal to extract as much money as you can from a consumer off which you think you have a monopoly on. Sorry Turo, you will have competition one day and I hope they make you aware of his you are treating the ones you claim to be serving.

Awesome Experience!. You really never see consistently outstanding reviews with any business, but Jonathan honestly deserves every single one. Jonathan was a great host and made our day feel extremely special. Jonathan was extremely accommodating and provided quick responses to my questions, from the condition of the SUV to the process of the entire Turo of renting! My wife had a short notice business engagement with a one day notice. Talk to me about stress! Well not true because the entire rental process was a quick and simple process thanks to Jonathan. He made this stressful issue go away! Jonathan made us feel very comfortable in his expert advice and knew everything about the vehicle. He also Bluetooth my iPhone to play my favorite tunes! I recommend Jonathan to provide you with great support! If you are planning on spending multiple days on the road or just a single day escape look no further to Jonathan, he’ll have you on the road quick and easy! Jonathan keep up the great work, and thanks for a really meaningful experience!

Liars. Turo has a list of accepted cards on their sight, based on this list I got a Revolut card for my upcoming vacation. After getting everything set up with this new payment method I attempted to rent the vehicle only to be told by the app that it could not add the card. Reached out to Turo customer service 7 times, with no response until to day a week before my vacation to advise that they decided to stop taking the Revolut card and anyone that does not use traditional banking is screwed and can’t use their platform. They provided a number to call to speak with someone and that number just goes in an automated nightmare not connecting with a human. I have requested contact by a supervisor in ever communication and was told only way to speak to one is to call the number that just continues in the automated circle. They have no customer service, no way to contact host until you rent. I am choosing to use my hard earned money on their platform. This is just one of many ways they try and make you use their messed up traditions banking that steals your money. Good luck if you have an issue once you rent they will get back to you in a few weeks. Hope it’s not serious

BEWARE. Hosts: There is nearly 0 support for you. Renter smoked in your car? You can’t prove it unless they left cigarette holes and ashes and you better have detailed BEFORE and AFTER pictures. Renter kept your car for a few extra days? Better be prepared to not get reimbursed for anything for at least a few weeks. Have ANY kind of questions about ANYTHING? Well we’ll make the call-in system so complex and inundated that you’ll hang up before you get to anyone to ask your questions. Renter didn’t refill the gas or recharge the car? You better have posted pictures of the fuel level/charge level and taken a 200MP picture of the receipt after you recharged/refueled. Only then will we consider giving you a reimbursement and maybe in a few days/weeks. This app marks up your daily rental nearly 100% and then gives you 30% of the total amount they charged the customer. AVOID THIS APP. It’s not worth it. It’s been a nightmare Renters: Watch out for hidden fees and mystery charges. The hosts are normal people trying to rent out their personal owned vehicles and the app makes them look like greedy b***ards by marking up the prices with fees. Youre better off paying a few extra dollars to rent from a major brand.

Turo doesn’t follow its own policies. I rented a car via Turo from Christmas Eve to the morning after Christmas. It was a Jeep with knobby tires which flung dirt up the side of the Jeep. When it was time to return the car, I struggled to find a car wash open over Christmas so I ended up having to hand wash the car at a self service cash wash at 6 am before my flight. The host then filed a cleaning policy violation against me because the car was streaky. Turo charged me $150 (plus a 3% fee) for a cleaning policy violation. Turo’s own policy says exterior dirt and mud are ineligible violations if they can be removed with a standard car wash. In this case, the host did not provide evidence that he had tried a standard car wash and there was excess dirt. I didn’t get an opportunity to respond, I was just charged the fee. The host had also messaged me after the car was returned and he was aggressive, domineering, and rude. All of this over dirt on a Jeep. It’s astounding. I will never use Turo again as it provides little to no protection for the user and holds users to a standard beyond what any other car rental company would. Going forward, I will use private car rental companies that follow their own policies; provide customer service to the people paying money for services; and don’t allow their employees to speak to customers in an unprofessional manner.

First time user. My brother highly recommended turo. We finally relented. Set up My account pretty easily. Rented first vehicle with no issues. Joe seemed very helpful. He had to switch us to a different vehicle last minute but that was easily remedied with no barring on our plans. Spoke to him about pick up over a phone call. Went exactly as he explained. Vehicle clean as a whistle. Only had issues with a tire warble and he stated he knew and had a mechanic look at it and explained his plans for remedy. We returned the vehicle a tad early, sent all pics as asked. Vacuumed. Fueled. Today I received a review from Joe warning others at how difficult it was to verify who I was and that there are three users on this account. Nothing else. That is all. He never once mentioned this in the phone call or 6 different times we exchanged text. All I can think is my real name is Wallace and my nickname is “Sonny”. Right out of the gate this guy wrecked my credibility and there is no way to respond publicly after he put that out there for all to read. Any way to rectify this or will this be a one and done with Turo?? You’ll see I gave Joe a 5 star rating because I assumed all went well , even with the tire warble I have a 5 star rating for maintenance b/c he explained he was in the midst of getting it addressed and our booking was last minute.

Best way to rent for last minute plans. We had an Avis rental that was cancelled just last minute due to unavailability of the vehicle we requested. They had smaller car despite for us paying a larger car. I thought my plans were doomed. Thanks to Turo. I was able to find a car and awesome host in less than 24 hours. The best part of it was that I paid 30% less than my initial car including their standard insurance plan. There are some scope for improvements with the app specifically with filters for cars. If I am looking for certain models then it becomes challenging to find the car. In addition their options with insurance are limited. Travelers is the worst insurance out there. In addition most of professional enterprise offers loss of rental use addendum to cover owner expenses while car is in maintenance in case of an accident. This isn’t offered by Turo. Their insurance fine print is not really transparent. I would not use it for let’s say renting a Porsche. Overall it’s catered towards middle class affordable rental cars and it does this one thing very well.

First time Turo Hosts and we LOVE it!!. We were introduced to Turo by a friend and of course we were nervous about listing our brand new car! Fast forward, one month later we get a booking (it’s slow season here at our beach town) and we are very pleased we went ahead and decided to be hosts. Turo walk you through everything, including a call with a Turo agent who answers questions and helps you to set up your page. They are also very thorough with how to keep your car clean and offer a mini course on that, before you can officially begin hosting. They also send reminders, and a checklist to go through before and after the booking. I don’t know if they always had these services when they began but I can say we were pleasantly surprised. It helps us feel safe and trust that our car is in good hands especially with the different insurance coverages they provide. Thank you Turo, for making sure your hosts and guests are covered!! We look forward to more and more positive experiences with Turo!

Horrible experience would not ever use again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I rented from a turo host. I came on time, i was sick from pregnancy and just needed the car to pad the time until we bought our new car. The host didn’t want to give the car to me, based off my speech impediment. He said that i was drunk and high, which wasn’t true. The man was just clearly racist. I called turo and they convinced him to rent to me. Then 5 hours later i was finally able to get the car. He was rude but since i needed the car i ignored it. Then early in the day before i was return the car he messaged me and said that he needs the car early because he had a meeting. I offered to let him come and get the car and he said that he would have to charge me 60 dollars more. I declined. But i agreed to bring the car a hour early. Which i did. And after all this i was charged the full amount even though i missed 6 hours of the rental. Turo support was contacted and they first thought i was the host, i had to explain to them i was the guest after several messages they asked for proof of time i actually had the car which i provided, and still didn’t refund my money. Then this host leaves a horrible review for me saying that i lied. Turo should better investigate matters as such. Instead they keep your money and tell you there’s nothing they can do.

Beware! I was charged $140 in “toll fees”. I have rented several cars from Turo, at first I loved the app! It was so convenient to scroll through and pick out a car for my vacations. Although I had 3 good experiences, the bad ones were REALLY BAD. A car owner was over 3 hours late to our agreed upon pick up time, resulting in me starting my vacation sitting in a sushi restaurant near LAX for those 3 hours. My first vacation day was suppose to be a relaxing drive down hwy 101 to San Diego. Instead, it was a stressful day of sitting and waiting as he text “almost there” for 3 hours, then getting such a late start the 2 hour drive was nearly 5 hours in the dark during evening traffic. The worst part of the experience was I was unaware I passed through a toll, the owner decided not to inform me of the toll notice he received until it had racked up $140 in late fees. The toll agency agreed to drop the fees and I would pay a reasonable $33 if the owner would cancel his $140 payment and let me pay the reduced fee. Turo support and the car owner were completely uncooperative and refused to do so. $140 to reimburse the car owner was just pulled from my account after I went back and forth between the toll agency and Turo support for over 2 hours. Beyond frustrating! Save your sanity and just use a reliable rental car agency!

Money saver. Great concept, continue to expand features. As a new user I was lured to using this as an alternative to traditional car rental. My first experience with a rental was very good and the hosts went above and beyond to make it so. The app and policies could use a few updates. One being the ability to communicate with hosts prior to making a reservation. I needed to verify something not mentioned in a listing with a host and was unable to do so until I went through the reservation process. Even the reservation is in a holding state until confirmed, this feels cumbersome if having to reach out to several hosts. Another difficulty is making reservations when flying into the airport and the hidden car drop off fees that aren’t initially shown when searching from an airport. You have to apply filters and view individual listings carefully to determine the fees associated with airport drop off/pickup. All in all, this is a great concept and saves a decent amount of money in comparison to the traditional car rental process.

Poor customer support and host vehicle approval. I used Turo for the first and last time. Their customer support is mainly through a frustrating chat interface, with agents that provide little to no help on issues. If you try calling their main phone number you’ll usually end up receiving a message that a text has been sent to your phone with a link to their chat. I had a maintenance issue with one of their vehicles and wished to cancel the rest of my trip. When I tried to ask about compensation, I was instead directed by their customer support to directly coordinate with the host, and was told they are unable to approve any compensation unless approved by the host. This led to an awkward back and forth conversation with the host that resolved nothing. Their support team is useless when actually dealing with issues with the host. Additionally they have little insight to the cars the host provides, as I was given a car with expired tags. Their app also has a lot of buggy features such as listing added drivers as approved by emails both to me and the added drivers say they were not approved. I have to say my most enjoyable experience with Turo was when I was finally able to end my experience with them followed by deleting the app. Good riddance to a crappy experience.

BEWARE of extra day charges. Was on vacation and rented a car on July 1. When I picked up the car the owner said “if check engine light comes on ignore it, it’s ok”. The next day (July 2) the car broke down on me. Owner told me there is a spare coil in the trunk and asked me to replace it. Why would he happen to have a coil in the trunk if that wasn’t a known issue with the vehicle? So I left my family while on vacation, went to hardware store, spent money on a wrench and socket and then replaced the coil with no change so I had to have the car towed back to owner through Turo’s roadside assistance. The rep at Turo said he had to charge me from July 1 to July 3 but they will be able to credit me July 2nd? When I requested the third day to be refunded because I only had the car in possession for two days, they said they couldn’t refund me because the owner refused the refund. If I only had the car for 2 days, Turo can see my messages back and forth with the owner asking me to repair his vehicle and Turo can see that it was towed on the 2nd, then why am I being charged for 3 days when I only had it for 2 days. Guess Turo scammed me out of another $100! Beware when renting from them. Apparently they just side with the owner regardless of the overwhelming proof.

Turo needs to upgrade their contact support team!. I have been a great guest on turo, have spent a lot of money renting and have met amazing people who rent their vehicles! It’s always easy to rent on and get approved everything is amazing I will give Turo that . BUT when there is a issue that has to do with either invoices or reimbursement for the guest I have not been able to get the help I need if the invoices are wrong but I do get sent to different “Teams” or turo “agents” that tell you what u want to hear but at the end of the day the guest(renter) never wins especially this last vehicle I rented the host never communicated with me and I’m always ok to extend the vehicle if needed and I usually only rent for work needs and family needs I contacted turo support team right away when the host did not respond to my extension and I wasn’t gonna be able to make it on time to return the vehicle and was told IT WAS OK but that was not the case the host finally responded saying it was fine as well but that wasn’t the case I received emails from turo saying otherwise smh!! Please do better on communicating TURO the staff / contact support team are sweet but the issue doesn’t get resolved and I end up paying turo and the hosts for false invoices!

Turo is great. All these people complaining about shady policies and hosts. These people are putting their personal property on the line for the benefit of others to use. The application has set up policies to ensure that they have the car owners backs when renting out their automobiles. If you don’t read the policies then it’s your own fault for not spending a few moments to get familiar with how Turo operates. So if you have a problem with being accountable and documenting the cars condition before and after a trip (like every car rental agency does FOR YOU) then stick to Enterprise or Budget car rental. You are paying more money to agencies like this because they do this legwork for you. In my experience Turo was extremely easy to use, and my first host was very accommodating and professional. In my unattended car rental scenario: I washed the car as if it were my own, went around the car and took pictures corner to corner, bumper to bumper, took a picture of the gauge cluster full of fuel and noting the mileage, left the key in the provided lock box and went on my merry way. Easy peasy.

Turo is Customer Focused. As a new Turo guest and host, I have been impressed with the customer-centric nature of the Turo platform. When I rented cars with the majors, I never got to select the Make, Model, year, color, features and specificity, with which Turo allows. I wasn’t able to select the price that I wanted to pay and set the exact parameters of my rental like I can with Turo. This customer convenience focus is what separates Turo from all the rest. Also, the human dimension of sharing property and stewarding someone else’s vehicle has a particular communal appeal to me. Not to mention the wonderful people I get to meet and befriend in this space. That has perhaps been the most rewarding feature of being a guest and being a host. Hopefully, all those within this community will take seriously what it means to be our brother and sister’s keeper in the cars we provide for public use and in the way we take care of someone else’s property. Maybe that is too lofty, but, that’s how I have envisioned and enjoyed this platform thus far.

Do not use Personal cards use a prepaid card. Turo was great at first, used them about 4-5 times. Everything was smooth, if i got a fine that i commited i paid for it no problem. Cause i own up to my wrongdoings. But the last rental i had i was rear ended i got the guys info etc reported it to turo. They wanted to charge 500$ for being in an accident no matter whose fault it was. To waive this fee add your personal insurer. So thats what i did. Mind you turo has insurance you pay for already incase of things like this happening. No where in the fine print did it say theyll notify my insurer about the accident wanting them to pay. So we went thru the motions of having turo pay cause thats what turo insurance is for and the guy who rear ended me insurance pay as well. Now today i found out turo has restricted my account, without informing me on why they did so. They email you about everything else but fail to inform me my account has been restricted. I contact support they have no info on why its been restricted. Up until this day turo had a good review in my eyes but not after this. Especially not trynna pay their portion of the accident which is why we get turo insurance. Pretty much they dont care who is at fault for whatever reason they just want your money. Dont use your personal cards use a prepaid one.

Worst Customer Service Ever. I used Turo for about a year or so. And honestly after reading some of the reviews most of them comes down to hosts or people that are renting vehicles, well I rented from the same guy every time because he gave me a great experience vehicle was always on time as I returned it on time it was all great. Until recently Turo decides to make a mistake saying I dispute it a charge so suspended my account. I sent all proper forms and pictures showing that not a single charge was ever disputed and everything came out of my account like it was supposed to normally, well it’s been about a month now and still nothing has been resolved. They always tell me they have a high volume of emails coming in they do not have a customer service line to talk to a person. But they have this chat line that’s unable to do anything whatsoever all they do is they will prioritize my email as urgent for a faster response but it has been on “urgent” for the past month. I was a happy customer for a very long time renting from the same guy until Turo came in and completely destroyed everything. I do not recommend this services to anyone they will make you wanna pull your own hair out. Once again I don’t want to put the blame on drivers or host because that was not the issue ever. TURO itself pushed to loose my business.

Great app. I’m only going to give a 4 star review because that app never really explained how your first trip will go. Yes, I should’ve done this to begin with but I was extremely distracted. After messaging back and fourth with my host he just told me that the keys were in the cup holder after I told him that we would be there in about 5 minutes. So I had asked my husband to get directions to our destination on my phone and I know it would’ve been in plain view if he opened my phone, but he opened his phone... that being said it wasn’t until about 10 minutes later when we stopped so I could make sure he put in the right directions, that I was supposed to take pictures of the vehicle before doing my trip. So as soon as I noticed that I selected “start trip” and added the pictures. I did notify my host of this because I didn’t want to be responsible for any damages that were done prior to our trip (there were minor dents and a chip in the window)... anyways, that being said... I feel like Turo should do a “trip simulation” so new app users can understand more so what to do before doing their first trip. Otherwise, awesome app!

Reliable Vehicle for a Fantastic Deal. If you’re looking to save some money and also have a vehicle that is totally reliable to drive throughout all CO, this is for you. It is SO clean and nostalgic. When I turned the ignition on, Nirvana started playing in the CD player which added to the feel. It was just like being in 1996. I drove this vehicle up to Keystone and Breckinridge and even ran into some pretty heavy snowstorms and this baby handled beautifully even in white out conditions. I had to employ the 4wheel drive a few times, and it worked great. This is a big bodied vehicle, so if you are looking to zip through traffic, this isn’t for you. But if you’re fine with cruising in the right lane and enjoying all of Colorado, this is perfect. Do keep in mind, since this is a bigger bodied vehicle, you don’t want to stop on a dime when the roads are iced/snowed out. Give yourself plenty of space between the car in front of you to stop. 100% satisfied and would definitely rent again.

HIDEOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. The customer service on this app is horrible. If you need any help at all they connect you to someone who basically reads the help/support section online back to you. We tried to add insurance to the vehicle BEFORE the trip. It was on the day of the start of the trip and the option to do so was taken off of the app. Which to my understanding you’re supposed to be able to do everything on the app. The customer chat - not helpful, the options was not available in the app as the customer support woman told us it would be. We asked to speak to a manager/supervisor which then we were informed that the customer service (using this title liberally) would put in a “request” and “someone” would review the request and deem if it was worthy, or not, or a response. All of this is absolutely unacceptable considering we had a perfectly reasonable request … the fact that this company wants to cherry pick who gets to speak to a manager/supervisor is unacceptable, the fact that before we started a trip the app wouldn’t allow us to modify a trip is also, at the least problematic … use another app. These people want to take your money and run and don’t know how to have a proper customer service.

Awesome app for fun and unique vehicle experiences. When it comes to round-trip rentals, I enjoy using Turo. I just have to keep two notes in mind: (1) Roadside assistance is on you rather than Turo (i.e. you can't always expect the same service that a mainline rental car company can give if you have problems with the car), and (2) you most definitely need to get insurance from Liberty Mutual (options provided by Turo) since your car insurance won't cover Turo cars and neither will a credit card. The one reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is that some car experiences can be better than others given individual owners and such (analogous to how Airbnbs are sometimes not all they're cracked up to be). For example, I had an almost hilariously bad experience with a Fiat I rented from Turo once. On the whole though, Turo has done an excellent job of streamlining the process in their app (again, much like Airbnb for room and house rentals). I highly recommend Turo for people who want to have fun, unique, and often cheaper rental experiences.

Good until you face a problem. Writing this review as a rider. The app works great with connecting you to cars for rent, but if an issue arises then don’t expect a quick remediation of the issue. I believe their customer support is outsourced overseas, so sometimes talking to support is like talking to a robot reading a script. My car rental’s brake light didn’t turned off which caused a safety hazard and a huge headache trying to reach the owner and customer support. Tried to call Turo’s customer support only to be redirected to talk to their online chat for anything, which was so disorganized and inconvenient (they have limited hrs for operation, so you are screwed if something happens in the evening PST time). They asked for items that could be easily found within the app itself like the specific reservation, photos of car, etc. As I was trying to address the problem, customer support reached out to the wrong owner / reservation (LOL - the reservation they reached out to didn’t even start!). Don’t expect to get anything remediated within a timely manner. Luckily the host was easy to work with and this was a simpler situation. I can’t imagined what would happen if I got into an accident.

Worst Rental Company. I really wanted to experience what having a Tesla Model Y felt like and my first instinct was to go to a well known company, such as Enterprise. The problem is that they don’t have Tesla Model Y’s to rent out, for this reason I decided to go with Turo. But boy oh boy, it was worst decision that I have ever made in my life. The taste that they lift in my mouth was that they don’t care about guests at all and will hide everything in their policy and terms of use. When we rented out a Tesla Model Y on Turo, we had a little incident where we got a flat tire and I decided to take care of it. However, when I returned it to the host they decided to file a claim for whatever reason. When I contacted Turo, they were going on and on about how I had to pay extra fees out-of-pocket. I told them I didn’t want this stress in my life and would like to continue my normal life, so I told them that because I had purchased their standard insurance I would only need to pay a $500 deductible. But they said that because I had tried to fix that flat tire I had voided the insurance. All in all, if you’re trying to have a stress free vacation it’s better to put a little bit more money and go with a big company, such as Enterprise.

Terrible Customer Service. I had a trip booked with Turo and the host cancelled on me the day before I was scheduled to pick up the car. I had booked a Lincoln Continental because my friends and I always liked them and thought it would be cool to splurge on a more fun rental car. Turos response to the cancellation is to just give you your money back and say “deal with it yourself”, so I’m stuck trying to find something so I’m not carless on my vacation. I ended up finding a Lincoln MKZ, which was a fine car, expect I ended up paying more for it than the Continental because I lost out on the early booking discount and free delivery from the previous booking. After the trip, dealing with Turo customer service is a nightmare. They lied to my face about their policy when I had written evidence, continually made me wait for them to check on things for 10 minutes at a time, and then after all that would not reimburse me for the additional expenses I incurred for no fault of my own. Turo seems great and when it works, it is, but as soon as any curveballs come in to play they’ll do their best to keep their wallet closed, customer be damned. I’d rather just go with a typical rental agency where there’s at least a real person at a stand to talk to.

THE FUTURE OF CAR RENTALS. This is the best way to rent a car. Period. I never want to scream at someone when I’m going through the Turo process; cannot say the same for Hertz, Budget, Alamo, whatever - any of the traditional rental places. This is such a painless, stress-free process compared to the big rental agencies. I’ve also met amazing people that are offering their cars for use. I truly believe this Customer - to - Customer model is the future for so many of our modern annoyances. My one complaint is that there’s no “partial day” rentals. For instance let’s say I set pick and up at 12 pm on day 1 and drop off for 12pm on day 2. I decide i would love to keep the car until 2 PM. I would have to pay for a full day of use. At that point, if you’re not extending closer to 24 hrs, it doesn’t make sense. I feel like this could be remedied very easily but Turo hasn’t changed this yet. Hopefully in the future. Do yourself a favor and forget those other losers and download Turo. You’ll be converted.

HOST STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS APP!!!!!. My name is Eric and I’ve been a turo host for over 2+ years and this platform is getting into the trash!!! I had a guest rent my vehicle on January 29th and during their trip the tire popped requiring it to be towed from Tallahassee to Orlando which is about 2hrs . I was told my vehicle would be returned to me by Feb 3rd by a “executive support member “Dom it is now the 17th of February and Turo still has no idea who has my vehicle or where the keys are. I’ve contacted support 30+ times with NO RESPONSE and even had to go the the BBB due no response from the “executive support team “. The tracker on my vehicle bought me to a Auto auction yard where no one could find who had my keys. I’ve been on hold with the 3 party towing company since 8:30am and it is now 2:42pm and the one person I was able to get in contact with stated that they don’t have the number to the tow company that has my vehicle. And the most funny part about all this is at the end of each call they thank me for being a all-star host!!! I advise anyone with their cars on this platform to be wary of turos TERRIBLE customer support ,THE CONSTANT TRANSFERS TO OTHER DEPARTMENTS ,AND AS WELL AS THEM DEALING WITH SHADY THIRD PARTY COMPANIES TO INCREASE THEIR PROFIT!!! After and if I ever get my vehicle back I will be removing all my cars from this terrible platform

ALL GOOD UNTIL IT’S REALLY BAD. I have always maintained that anyone or any company can do a good job when things are going as planned, but you find out what a company is truly made of when things don’t go well. I recently booked a Turo car six weeks in advance of a trip and paid for it in full at the time per Turo policy. The night before our trip, I was running through the details and realized that even though the host accepted my booking, he hadn’t answered any of my messages since that time. I sent several messages, but he was MIA. I called Turo support who assured me that they would get this all worked out, but the clock was ticking, I had to get on a plane, and had to leave fixing this mess to the Turo rep. We landed at our destination to discover an email from Turo stating that they had given me a credit for my booking without penalty and that I could now use that money to rebook my own car. There was just one problem. There were only a few cars available this late in the game and they were all much more than the original car I booked. At this point, I did not have either the time nor the money book another Turo car and was left high and dry on my own to figure things out. I will never use Turo again.

Bad Host. My Host was Eduardo B. From Oklahoma. This was my first time on this app, at first it seemed smooth. I rented their vehicle, and when I got into the vehicle it wasn’t on a full tank. Which was fine for us. So we stopped when we got home and added $10 still wasn’t on Full. Then 30 minutes after driving the engine check light came on. The host previously said it was a sensor problem. So we had to stop by auto zone and get it checked… Which we shouldn’t have had to do but it was too late to rent another vehicle. They seemed concerned but they should’ve been. It turned out to be another sensor problem. We continued our trip. Before we returned the vehicle we made sure to add the gas back where it was when we got it. Received a invoice for $30 because they had to “refuel” I disputed it. To me it’s still it’s way more convenient going to enterprise. At least you never have check engine light scares. I paid $700 to rent for 4 days. It WAS NOT WORTH IT. I even tried writing a nice review but after they had the audacity to add an invoice for refueling when it wasn’t on full when I received it I said wow they are crazy. I’ll never use this app again and I’ll warn my peers about that host.

Turo is so much easier then rental company’s. My wife and I used Turo for the first time on our trip to Nashville in April. I have to say I was a little nervous when I booked and paid for the trip in February not knowing what to expect. The app kept track of everything up to the day of our trip. We actually never physically met the person we rented through because everything at least through our situation was through texting using the app. We had arranged to pick our car up at the parking garages at the airport once we landed. So the night before the owner took the car to the airport and sent us pictures through the app of where the car was and where the keys were located and IT WENT FLAWLESS. We loaded our bags jumped in the car and in our way. All paperwork was already completed back in February so there was nothing to do but drive. We were insured 100% through TURO. Once our trip was complete we drove back to the airport….. parked in a spot and sent pictures again through the app to the owner…… hopped on the plane and home. I WILL NEVER GO THROUGH A CAR RENTAL AGENCY AGAIN!!!

Turo cares more for host and they don’t care about customer who rents the car. I rented a car for 3 days. The car owner told me to take pictures and I took a lot of pictures in my phone. It was my first time using turo app so I didn’t know I’m supposed to upload the picture in the app, which turned out be my great mistake. So I didn’t uploaded any pictures in app but i had it in my phone. The car already had some pet hair and I also showed those hairs to the host. He said last customer might not clean the car well and booked the 4-5 hours ago he didn’t get a chance to clean it well. I didn’t had any problem so I just took some pictures in my phone. When I returned the car I was charged $250 for cleaning because he claimed he found pet hairs in car AFTER my trip. I sent an email to turo with pictures i took during pick up and explained everything what the guy said during picking up the car. Also sent an image of my flight tickets and hotel reservations to show them that I don’t have any pet. But still they refused to refund me because host had showed some pictures with more pet hairs than my pictures. It was my first and last trip from Turo. Seems like they just care for the people who give their cars for rental, Turo doesn’t care for the customers who rent the car from them.

UNSAFE CARS. This company is a fraud and will do anything to fraud you. I was robbed at gunpoint and the car I rented was stolen. Unfortunately, I called the cops and by that point the driver had already wrecked the car. How is this my fault? I don’t understand why they don’t go after the thief that robbed me and took the car. I provided the police report and the person that stole the car. He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Now they are trying to charge me nearly $12,000 dollars for a car that has a SALVAGE TITLE. Also, the KBB value of the car is under $5,000 after entering the vin number. Basically, they are trying to screw me more than double the value of the car. I have full coverage insurance on my personal car and tried to work with these fraudsters. CUSTOMER SERVICE is horrible and I had different representatives emailing me with zero explanations on how to help me. I called my insurance and they told me that the car has a SALVAGE title. So that being said the car was already ineligible for full coverage damages. Not a single representative has called me or try to explain to me why they let SALVAGE cars go for rent on their platform. Be careful renting from them as they will find a way to put any blame on you. I hope GOD WILL PUNISH these DEMONS.

Caution Turo Hosts. Hello, I’ve been using Turo for about 4 months now and everything was going great until I had a bad guest. Given that Turo takes a decent amount of your rental profits and offers some sort of protection to any damages I felt safe listing my vehicle. As I mention I had a bad guest and I figured Turo would help since I had there protection plan. It took me to days to get a hold of someone through a chat portal. Since I wasn’t getting through I called and that took 2 hrs of being on hold to find out they could help me. I had to go through the portal chat. Extremely frustrating. To give you some color on the guest they asked for a day extension and I initially denied it since there was another planned trip the next day. I granted the extension after explaining that the vehicle had to be returned in the same clean condition that was given to them since I did have another guest the following morning. They returned the rental full of sand and spilled drink, low on gas, low tire pressure on all 4 tires and they took a sun visor and iPhone cable from inside the rental. I had to cancel the drip do to this and Turo was not helpful about the situation at all. Guest name by the way is Rodrigo Huerta so do not rent your car to this user if Turo has not removed them as I have request. Good luck to you hosts on getting help from Turo. I’ve decided not to use Turo any more.

Use Turo Only As Your VERY Last Resort. The Turo concept is a good one, but the execution is very poor - and readily leaves the guest in the lurch in countless ways. Turo’s customer service is easily the worst among all travel companies of which I’m aware. THEY SIMPLY WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO RESOLVE ANY GIVEN ISSUE THAT COULD ARISE ON YOUR TRIP. In particular, if you ever require customer service to resolve an issue, Turo is one of those companies that seems to deliberately kill its customers’ satisfaction with countless layers of non-human clicks and voicemail options that fail to address numerous issues. Eg, if the app glitches and does not allow you to register that you have returned the vehicle on time, in condition and within allowed mileage, there will be no way to resolve the issue justly in any reasonable timeframe (eg, w/in a hold time of 45 mins or even and hour+, speaking from 1st-hand experience). So, expect to have to choose between MISSING YOUR PLANE or being charged for another day + being liable for any issues after you’ve actually - but not “officially” - returned the vehicle, etc. The major car rental agencies are price competitive and have dramatically more reliable problem-solving capabilities and intentions. Use Turo as a last resort given these very real hidden downsides with Turo that can spoil your travel.

Thank you so much for this. Don’t need a credit card thank God. Recently moved out of state, temp living with a friend so I don’t have an address/license here so I can’t rent a car with a debit card from the big companies. I don’t understand how my $400 limit card limit CC is sufficient to rent an almost brand new car but my debit card with all my money is like poison. Uber dramatically took some of their business away and I hope Turo is doing the same. They’re literally slamming the door on a big part of potential customers for no reason. Fingers crossed I can soon buy a car and offer on Turo on days I don’t need it. Won’t spend a penny of that income and buy another car. Rinse and repeat. Maybe just throw in free incentives like free airport pickup, no extra charge for refueling, and free use of bike racks, car seats, satellite radio just to expedite their doom. Also my rental process couldn’t have been smoother, easy pickup with a lockbox, all the snow gear in the trunk and sensible price. Thank you so much.
