Truly terrible. Lousy. Limiting. Buggy. Slow. Not ready for prime time.

Horrific functionality. They need better user acceptability testing and maybe back to the drawing board

Very slow. This app is fancier than the previous version, but loads very slowly on my phone. The previous version loaded quickly and was easier to navigate than the current version. As before, stories are not updated within a reasonable time, and I often find the bulk of the stories to be several days old. Push notifications often arrive when there is not yet a real story. It seems obvious to me that developing this project and maintaining this site is very low priority for Gannett.

Easy to use.. The content and pictures about our hometown happenings give Muncie a good image. We are on our way. Keep it up!

App. I have the app and it says I’ve reached my monthly free stories. Not happy!!!

Frustrated. I understand the delay in the print version versus the online version but am beyond frustrated and disappointed on the dismal performance of the app/online version as well.

Saturday paper. I hate it! If the paper goes to only on-line I will unsubscribe.

App. No content unless you are an avid sports fan. Not worth what you want to charge.

Keeps me updated. Easier than buying a paper everyday and I like that it updates before the paper comes out

Poor Example From Navigation to Content. While reporting remains to be of the teaser variety, the older version had some degree of content this is a splash or a glimpse of water cooler chatter. The last version was very easy to use more like the print edition this one chooses to lead you no where to read little or nothing of use. Seems as if the e version is trying out for the trying out for the Inquirer headline staff.

This is not a good app for finding out what’s going on in Muncie. I get most of my news about Muncie from a Facebook Muncie community group. If there is an accident or shooting you rarely see it in the Muncie Star Press. You have to search Facebook or other outside news sources.

Same thing,no news. Seems like there’s the same thing for days on here,any other newspaper has up to date news,and the news that’s on here is what I call stupid news,who wants to read about a bunch of meth heads and to show their faces is ridiculous,we already know they look like death so why show them or expose them,put news on worth reading and some from around the world,and the obituaries are never updated,or stay on forever? Come on the Indy paper is what you need to model yourself with,I know it’s gannet but I’m tired of looking at the same thing everyday

Star press app. Use to be a great app but for some reason it now takes forever to load

Total "Bull****". Anytime a local news source chooses to require a fee for information about a serious health threat, it gives the public insight about the motivating philosophy behind that source. We have a constitutional right to a free press in this country. Some would argue that refers only to freedom of expression for the news source. However, I feel many more would argue that we as citizens of a country in the midst of a terrible pandemic have a right to free news affecting our very existence. YOUR MOTIVATION IS OBVIOUSLY GREED! Local sports. Great local sports coverage. Robbie General and Jordan Guskey do an unbelievable job covering east central Indiana sports.

Once you subscribe, it’s nearly impossible to cancel online!. I’ve been trying to cancel my digital subscription. I can’t find a phone number, and there is no way to cancel online Also, my initial digital subscription was $9.95 Now, I’m up for a yearly renewal and they are charging me $48 without any prior notice! Beware

Nice App. This one loads faster, and is easy to navigate. The downside? Not being able to comment on the article

Poor journalism. The majority of “news” info consists of high school sports stories.

Limited access to features. This paper gets worse every day! Looking for classifieds and legal notices which are completely non existent in this app. So disappointing that they don’t let you see the paper with a paid subscription

HS BASKETBALL. What in the world happened to basketball. Robbie use to do a great job and now only 2 not very good articles have been written and season mostly over. What’s going on

Old news. Because this paper is down to a handful of Employees , some of the news on the app is a day or two old. Not worth it.

Not very easily used. The newest version on my iPhone is terrible, and the newest version for my iPad is worse. Slow loading and only occasionally works correctly. Maybe too many fancy features that really just slow it all down. Go back 2 versions!!!

Canceling Subscription. Trying to cancel my subscription but it’s not user friendly for that! I need help before they charge me for a new service.

Muncie, IN Daily Online Newspaper. Decent online newspaper for smaller “rust-belt” Indiana city. A few grammatical and spelling mistakes, but information is generally accurate. Political “spin” bias is relatively neutral, especially for being a Gannett Press owned paper.

App Does Not Work. Signed me off for no reason. Won’t let me log onto my account. Happens frequently. Bad app!

Love it!. The app gets me my local news!

Bad privacy. I’m deleting the app. Didn’t realize until now how invasive and disgusting your app is. Besides that, it’s lousy to use on my iPhone.

Too many pop ups. Whenever I look up obituaries on this app I get a pop up wanting me to click to win a prize. Scam. Uninstalled, cleared cache, blocked pop ups, done. Bye star press.

The Star Press. The Star Press does a great job keeping the community informed. They are in need of another societal contributor lie the used to have in Larry Reilly but other than that they do a decent job reporting on our city government and local people who make an impact in our community. Larry brought to light facts from public meetings that the general public can’t attend because they are scheduled during the average community members work day hours. Many people I know miss his column and insight because he represented the people from the town and the people with the gowns. Chris Flook does a great job presenting the public with historical facts about our region and if it were up to me he would file more columns so that local people can learn more about and take more pride in our community. His insight is amazing and I look forward to reading every column that he contributes because I love Muncie and I love learning more about our history and the makings of our community. I have mentioned a couple people by name that I enjoy but there are countless others that make a huge impact. There are tons of people who miss the Walker Roysdon Report, Greg Fallon, and many other pass contributors. I only rate this app at 3 stars because there are a lot of local stories about our schools, county township activities, and surrounding counties as well that go u told and positives that do not get as much promotion as they should. We now live in the “24 hour news cycle” that drives clocks and advertising dollars. I would be willing to add two more stars to this rating if there was more reporting on all of the great things happening in Muncie and ECI as opposed to nathipnal click bait headlines that drive down the moral of our local residents. Nonetheless. here’s to you The Star Pess!!!! Thank you for everything you do!!

I would give zero stars if possible!. I’m a subscriber and can never see the stories I want. It’s a terrible app and I’m not sure what community the paper reports for anymore!

Joke. This app is a joke. It never recognizes my subscription and never lets me read the articles after my 5 free for a month even though I have a paid subscription that’s is suppose to allow me access to all articles. On top of that there is no way to contact customer service. Star Press sends you to Gannet their parent company then Gannet sends you to Star Press. Muncie at its finest. Trash like always.

Nothing like the hometown newspaper. Easy peasy to keep up on home news. Easy app to navigate. Worth the every bit of the price!!! I give a great big 👍.

Very disappointed!. I subscribed to the digital edition of the Star Press, what a waste! Same stories for several days in a row. It was my understanding that the digital edition was the same as the print. However, I see stories on the front page of the printed edition that I never see in digital! Am I doing something wrong in the app? Will definitely not renew my subscription!

Newest update terrible. After the latest update it signs you out and won’t allow you to re-sign in even if you are a current subscriber

Finally!. I'm glad TSP finally came out with an app. It was well put together and comprehensive. I haven't used it long enough to speak to crashes and bugs. I am still hopeful that an iPad version will come out soon. That's what I'm really waiting for.

Good columns but.... Anyone can read as much news online as they want but the star press and make America great again want you to pay for meth head muncie broken school systems news. Not much worth paying for when your talking Muncie, IN news.

It’s awesome!. I really like The StarPress online. It’s actually much better than the print edition. There are great photos, good coverage of all the important stories, and it has a very intelligent look. bluebirdlinda

Can’t leave comments. It’s stupid I pay for a subscription but can’t leave comments on dumb posts like black history month! Who cares about black history! No one!

Gannet....sigh. I loved the Muncie Star/Press back when it was locally managed and distributed. Since Gannett took over, the editing is pretty embarrassing and research does not always seem as complete or unslanted as it used to. Otherwise, it's an ok place to get local news and the app delivers breaking news pretty quickly.

Trash. The new Star Press is not local news like it use to be. I hate that we don’t have a real local paper. I am canceling my subscription. It’s just as bad as the National Enquirer.

Don't like it!. Can't find article that was told it was in actual paper-paper. It was an 80th bday party announcement. Looked all over life/celebrations and found all other bdays, anniversaries but not this one!

News from Home. The Star Press has always offered me up to date information about what’s happening in my home city. While I live in Georgia now, I still read “News from Home” three to four times a week. As both a Central and BSU graduate, I’m always interested in following local sports. Thanks to my on line subscription, I don’t miss a thing. The Star Press was a great publication in the sixties and remains the go to source for local News. UPDATE: the sports section that reports on BSU is non-existent! As of today, April 21, there have been no updates since early December. Having been a happy customer when I made the first post, I am now extremely disappointed.

Liked the old app better. Now that the app has been updated I have been unable to read the paper from my phone as well as my iPad.

Logical in design. Easy to use and always timely.

Quick read. Not much depth. Excellent photo and video follow up. Need obituaries today to be default with wider selection an option. Good overall.

Great paper. I get updates on what's going on locally as it happens. Great writing and a great way to stay current on happenings around town.

Not working. Tried for 2 woks to log into my acct. the "FORGOT PASSWORD" button does not work. It just force closes the app.

Where is the news?. App is ok, but not much new news on a daily basis. Old news stays forever. The Star Press needs to use the app to include the daily stories the have in their paper.
