Same old same old.. Bad writers. Seeking alpha approves bad writers in hopes of pushing their subscription service to unwitting investors. Their premium service pays contributors $10 per 1,000 views, this creates a cesspool of writing that aims to generate emotion instead of inform. Although it’s rare to find an analyst that will make you millions of dollars Seeking alpha doubles down on the bad with their aggressive subscription based model, they will bombard your financial news feed with bad articles then tell you you’re out of free articles. None of it is about quality all of it was created to generate clicks, much like the other financial news services. If you can’t do your own research then don’t risk your money because nobody is going to do it for you, no matter how many commercials tell you otherwise.

Simply not worth it. I’ve used this app for about 4 years. It’s been okay for tracking your portfolio and keeping up to date on news regarding your holdings. Recently app performance has suffered, crashes during commenting, comments not loading, doubling and tripling of notifications and articles. It can be very frustrating to use the app at times. The comments section used to be filled with well informed users who would point out inaccuracies in an article, or bring up otherwise ignored points. I’m sure those helpful users are still there, but of late they have been almost completely drowned out by commenters who only seem to spew right wing talking points and propaganda, this often leads to someone responding that is spewing left wing talking points and propaganda. Wading through the political crap in the comments section became unbearable for me when I can get the same resources in other apps and without the baggage.

SA used to be great; going the wrong way now. I want to like SeekingAlpha so badly, but their recent monetization choices are killing the exact feature which made this platform SO great. I used to use SeekingAlpha to read the bull/bear case on stocks I’m considering investing. The free content is pretty good, but the great differentiated features of SA vs other investing analysis platforms is 1) the contributor articles/ideas (this hasn’t changed), and 2) the commenters. SeekingAlpha’s average commenter is well above-average intelligence for internet comment sections (event financial sites). There’s robust bull/bear debate, along with helpful info exchange and learning which happens in the comments… and the reason that home-game analysts come in and comment is because it’s free (or, at least it used to be). Now there’s a “monthly limit” of articles which free users can see, which seems to be stifling the good/robust commenting activity. And that’s been driving users like me to search for alternatives. Could free users be monetized by ads or what about an inexpensive base package which allows visibility to anything but original contributor-generated content? Surely so.

I liked the app, but why all or nothing?. The app was good until they locked it up with a high subscription cost. They claim it’s to reward the article writers but this used to be a great place for a healthy discussion amongst the average investor and they shut that down with a paywall. Why would you shut a lot of people out that helped create the content? I’d rather be subjected to advertising than priced out. There aren’t even tiers of pricing! It’s all or nothing and that seems like a money grab. You can mention the free articles you get but it’s limited to five and that’s a ridiculous constellation prize for all the folks that also helped make this app successful. It’s as if they value the long article writers over the discussions. There isn’t anything in this app that’s really proprietary so lots of us will have to move on. Which Is too bad since it used to be my number 1 app to read. I really wish they’d reconsider the focus of the app and open up a free version that can continue on the spirit of the discussion. But at the very least have tier pricing. Something is better than nothing. Update: A canned developer response about the limited free articles doesn’t show you even read the review. You put this response on every review talking about the paywall. Why can’t you figure out a way to make money and have more of us too?

Worst idea I could ever thought. I already have a subscription to other financial news services. I thought to give this a try; and I got enrolled through a promotion for a full year. Never used it because it didn’t add anything that I wasn’t already getting. Now, I never knew I was on automatic renewal; and they charged me for another year. I tried to approach them that I wasn’t interested in their service for another year - on the day they charged me. I have been going back and forth with these people and Paypal to ‘explain my case’. It is simple I never wanted this service to renew - and I never agreed to another year of service’. If you are into ‘forced sales’, just give them a try; and just wait for months for Paypal to decide.

Need to know cost. I’ve been loving using the free service and have received many ads suggesting I upgrade my subscription to a paid one. But, I can’t find any charts showing what specific additional services would be offered and at what cost?? Need a quick and easy way to know if I want/need more options. I’m most interested in tracking my own investments from the original investment of each individual stock to the current value.

The little people. I have been a subscriber of iReit about 4 years, and love Brad and team’s daily articles. I have no substantial complaints and intend to continue to pay large for his advice and spot on analysis. My small complaint is that he seems to cater to obvious and long time responders on our daily chat. Some very expert-appearing ( by detail) responses appear in response to different analyses. Brad always seems to respond to these. I have written what some of these “ experts “ would call a dumb question. I call been called out for that as well by another so called expert. Not once has Brad ever responded to me or my “dumb” question. I graduated from West Point, have 3 Master’s degrees and rose to Director level in a Fortune 500 company. I believe as many benefits as iReit offers, it fails the “little people.” I consider myself ( self-described) as one of these.

Whoops, you broke the app!. “The data could not be read because it isn’t in the correct format” is the pop up error message I get when trying to post comments. Clearly, this is censorship since many other people are still able to post comments. Someone complained about this in the feedback forum three months ago but the post remains unanswered by SA support staff. When I tried replying to that comment, the app prompted me to sign up and sign in, even though I’m already signed in! When entering in my user email address, it prompted me to create a new account. Finally, whenever I try scrolling down my list of portfolio stocks, the app often inexplicably jumps up in the scrolling - something that never happened in previous versions. You would think such a long-standing and widely-used app, especially one used for financial advice, would have better quality control, better feedback forum response habits and be above censoring posts. These practices are shoddy at best and shameful at worst.

Why I like Seeking Alpa. Best go to place for all around financial information and discussion. Built by professional investment professionals this continually evolving information sharing platform provides access as well as voice to every level of investment opinion. Hang around Seeking Alpha long enough and your portfolio performance will improve and you will have both more fun as a direct result of a better understanding of market dynamics, the principles of successful investing and the behaviors of the players, that’s you and me!

This used to be a good app- not anymore.. Don’t waste your time with this app. When I first started using the app, all articles were free. It was a great way to start the day with some investing news that had kind of a folksy tone. Then they started restricting free articles to those published in the prior two weeks. Ok, so it was not as good as before but still useful. Then came the bomb. Beginning Jan. 4, only 5 articles A MONTH are free. I am not kidding. Anytime you attempt to read an article, a pop up appears trying to get your money for an expensive subscription. This is a definite bait and switch tactic. Get you hooked on the investment articles, and then hit you with an expensive subscription demand. The same information is available elsewhere for free. Good bye Seeking Alpha! I have unsubscribed from your email and will read articles for free elsewhere.

Trash 🚮. 1. They hold your account hostage. There is no way to delete your account instead they tell you to email them to deactivate your account. I don’t want my account deactivated i want my account permanently deleted. 2. The Seeking Alpha Community has to many liars and emotional cowards in it. They write Articles telling people to buy stocks that left them holding the bag. I seen them delete honest comments. The people they give this ability is corrupting the app experience. 3. I only bought premium because i like seeing 10+ years of company financial data. But i stopped paying for it due to SA allowing emotional cowards to ruin the community.

I rely on Seeking Alpha. When I started trading, one of the fundamentals I was late understanding was sector rotation. I learned the hard way that ETF sector trades can work for or against a stock within a sector creating headwinds or tailwinds irrespective of the technicals for a given stock. Seeking Alpha not only shows shows me what sectors a stock resides in but also how those sectors are behaving. I check the SA Top Stocks for trade ideas, check their industry and sector standing, sector strength and bear down.

Great app. Great app for the amateur stock trader. I appreciate the articles that are generated and also the premarket and after hours prices on stocks in one place. If you typically use the Apple stock app, this is a much better tool to check prices during the day. Apple’s articles only come from one or two sources and don’t seem to be business oriented and more like fodder. This app seems to be more factual versus ones like Motley Fool where they will write articles hating a stock and then love it two days later. Worth downloading.

They don’t respond to problems and issues. They don’t respond to problems and issues with their application on I phone . They have 2 main issues I have the app about 6 months and I can’t post anything to the app to others comments . I just keeps turning and turning . I have deleted the app and reinstalled it 2 times already hoping it would fix it . Second problem just recently started is the stories open to the left side and you can’t see the story ! They take way to long to correct these issues and maybe need to be removed from the apple I tunes store since they don’t care ! Thanks

Invalid Data Format bug cannot post replies. Yet another release worse than the one before.. Please rollback nine months and try again with a new approach or development leadership. It hurts to complain about free, but this mess keeps getting worse. It’s so obvious, you should not need us to deliver the bad news. Comments fail with Invalid DataFormat. Graphs don’t update. News feed not listed in portfolio. Initial portfolio render half empty. It’s so bad you don’t need us to tell you. Fire whoever slashed the development budget and reload.

Seeking Alpha Pricing. The information housed within Seeking Alpha is good, but the pricing of the product does not jive with the offering because few recommendations actually come with actionable strategies, other than buy the stock. Investors and traders today are looking for actionable strategies that include timing. This type of framework provides investors/traders with ideas that are also linked to options trading, which would enhance the value of the offering, thereby causing less heartburn about the price.

Totally unreliable. This app is worse than Apple’s crappy email app that comes with iOS. It is what holds be me back from signing up for SA’s premium service. Why should I pay a premium for using such crap. Specifics: 1) on the day the Dow dove over 700 points (today) the portfolio view shows the same 56 point drop for the Dow from yesterday. No changes. Nothing. 2) for most of the day my portfolio tickers didn’t update either. Now they look updated but how am I to know when the market index numbers are clearly wrong? 3) clicking on an emailed article notification opens the app to a blank article page. Only after clicking for a second or third time does the article appear. And yes...I waited to make sure that there was a good cell connection. This is 100% reproducible even when I have full bars and LTE. 4) when reading an article and scrolling down it repaints the whole screen and resets the scroll position when it needs to load a new ad. This is highly disruptive when I have to scroll around in the middle of reading to find where I was.

Well Edited. I am a money manager and get some excellent ideas from seeking Alpha pro. Many of the ad hoc contributors appear to be every bit as informed and conscientious as the buy side analysts available from the various brokerage firms, but without being suspect with regard to where their loyalties lie. I once submitted an analysis to seeking Alpha but the editors came back and wanted better citations. Frankly I was too lazy to go back and do the extra work so the article never was published, but I must say I respect their thoroughness and editorial integrity demonstrated in my case.

Doesn’t work on all my devices, and no customer support. I have an iPhone and several iPads. I bought the app using my phone, but the app would not work on my iPads (like it is supposed to). So I signed up again on one of my iPads, but then they charged me again, meaning I was being double charged. There is no way to contact them to get this corrected, so I went through my credit card company. The credit card company also could not contact Seeking Alpha, so they went through Apple. My credit card company then got my Apple charge reversed, but then Apple canceled the app, so now I don’t get it on my phone, only my iPads. I have never had this issue with any app. And there is no way to contact them. One star is too generous. This is an update on my previous review. Customer service contacted me after receiving my review and resolved the problem. I have used this app for a few months now and find it quite useful. It has become a regular part of my due diligence. I recommend it.

Money grubbing. It used to be a useful source for reading articles that gave opinions about a wide range of companies and their prospects. Recently they have terminated the ability to access articles for free. This makes the service useless for the vast majority of people. Paying $99 for access to articles, mostly written by people hawking their own paid services, is definitely not worth it. They took something decent, free articles to read for ideas for further research, and ruined it. I’ve already deleted the app. I’d love to see the data regarding how much their user engagement is cratering. Update: Received a boilerplate reply from developer. My reply to him: You obviously didn’t read a word that I wrote, which just underscores your complete disinterest in taking criticism seriously. I wouldn’t pay a nickel to spit on your “service”.

Very glitchy lately, Needs major work. I have used the Seeking Alpha App since the beginning. Lately it is buggy, extraordinarily slow to load, and clearly lacks 2020 level technology, navigation, communication and other basic qualities. The portfolio manager is ok, but clumsy. Having read most relevant articles on the site for years, 2 alarming trends are apparent. A minority of authors are top quality equity/business/ financial analysts. This group is gold, and would thrive anywhere, and be an asset to those seeking investment advice. The majority are not. Many are what I would call “shills”, pushing agendas that are very basic, oft times wrong and could be costly to novice investors. Some of the sites frequent posters are blatantly abusive to those against their obvious positions. All in all, needs much improvement.

Value Less. Seeking Alpha was one of my favorite apps for reading about investment ideas. Much of the content was free while providing ‘premium’ content for those willing to pay. Well that is all in the past with their recent change in ‘service’. Now you have a set number of limited free content and everything else is behind the paywall. The value of SA has become less and I just deleted my account. Too bad.

SA your best advantage. Over the last 2 years I’ve tried everything I’ve seen😒 I admit I subscribe to two but SA is far and away the best. They are never satisfied, trying new things, improving, getting better. I’m sixty, lost a substantial piece of retirement through no fault of ours. I was devestated, we’ve worked hard, saved through the workplace, put 3 kids through college, vacationed, enjoyed life, to find that taken away...... SA has the tools and we’re going to get it done!!!!

Loved it while it lasted. I have only recently started investing and I do not have a lot of money to invest, but am trying to grow a portfolio that will help supplement retirement. Through a long series of unfortunate events, I am getting started late in life so every dollar I can put into my portfolio matters. I really enjoyed the articles and information I found on Seeking Alpha. However, with limited funds to invest, and the new article limit without premium, my joy is gone. This service provides great information for those who already have plenty of money to spend, but is now not as useful to me. The help I found here was awesome when I could read more than five articles a month, but I cannot afford to pay for information and then have no money to do anything with said information. I understand the reasons behind the changes, but my $30/month will be more useful to me in my portfolio. It was great while it lasted, though.

This app is now problematic. I have been using this app for several years. I relied on it for a quick review of my extensive stock portfolio and to access stock info. As of last week, my portfolio has been unavailable, although it exists in full on my Mac computer. It seems absurd to expect this user to recreate my extensive portfolio when I already have one there. I see no convenient or useful way to register my complaint. I was told by Apple to logout and then sign in, which fixed the problem.

Change in Policy. Up until 2021, the app worked great. We were able to view a limited number of articles monthly. That was suitable for me who would check out no more than 5 or less articles a week. Starting this year they reduce the monthly free article limit to an undisclosed number which seems like zero. Now you are confronted with a sales pitch to buy a monthly or annual subscription. The cost seems like something that can easily be paid for when you’re a day trader but for someone who is just managing there personal non-day trader account, it is a substantial cost that can’t be justified. Unfortunately, I think this will be the feeling of most and most will learn to do away with Seeking Alpha and this app. Just a word to the wise. It is a shame that some of the authors will lose their followers. The limit is not identified in the link the developer has provided. Is it something to be ashamed of? I can stay within the limits but they need to be posted and not a trap.

Mr Jim. If you’re unable to find information you believe is hiding somewhere, then you haven’t searched Seeking Alpha! This site is, by far, so well put together and has such a great following of a humongous amount of highly intelligent masses ever known! All put together in an environment so easy to delve into when on a search for whatever you may need answers to. A pleasure for ease of searching no matter how deep you think you’ll need to go. Kudos for all who participate in “Seeking Alpha”...... Thank You!!!

Brian L in Austin TX. As an equity investor, I have found the information on Seeking Alpha to be extremely valuable in helping me find great stock investments. The articles and forums provide great background and feedback from other investors. The SA ratings tools serve up great potential investments according to selected criteria and screeners. I heartily recommend the premium service as well as the other paid subscriber services. Thanks SA for helping me to do so well on my stock purchases.

The Best Stock App. Out of few very good stocks apps in the market, I find Seeking Alpha the best. It’s easy to navigate, simple and user friendly interface, in the same time it gives tons of useful information. I like the most to navigate through tabs of the portfolio which shows different information like Dividends, where you can find dividend yield, ex-dividend date, payout date, etc., you can sort by preferred column, ascending/descending. I find it very very useful. The news and articles also very complete and detailed. One thing would be great to add under dividends tab: dividend frequency. Thank you Seeking Alpha for making investor’s life so much easier. Keep up the good job. 👍

Generally very helpful. Provides a plethora of information and more detailed information compared with other services. That said, some research is thoughtful and some isn’t. Really need to cull through to find the better analysis. Would really like to see more detailed information on how authors actually perform compared to their recommendations. Overall, excellent tool for thoughts desiring to do more reading than other services provide.

It’s getting worse and worse. Not sure what’s going with you folks but it’d be nice to test the app as you develop new versions. Lot of things don’t work right.. notifications aren’t showing, charts and pricing updates lags or freezes. When a notification comes half of time it won’t open the article and shows your blank... list goes on... it’s sad because it actually used to be a semi decent platform but I’m using yahoo finance more n more.

Perhaps Falsely Advertised. Was looking for a place to read news about, and reviews about, primarily Cryptocurrencies. I was searching for an app that had a “bulls say vs. bears say” analytical segment. I searched Google for Crypto news app iOS, then I doubled-down my search efforts, directly in the App Store. Both attempts at finding my ideal Crypto news/analysis app, lead me to Seeking Alpha. That’s where I got infuriated. I felt lied to. I felt mislead. I mean, this app doesn’t even really recognize Crypto-related tickers. It only seems to 99% recognize normal stock tickers. It does have a few, very few, crypto tickers, but none which matter, to me. Stop digging for downloads with click bait or any other dishonest behaviors. I’m so sick of that junk. It’s everywhere these days. No product integrity, just a bunch of clowns chasing clicks, downloads, likes, dollars, or whatever. It may not be the app developer’s fault, it could be Google and App Store’s fault, that I was lead to believe through an EXACT PRECISE search query that this app also covered crypto in full. It does not. I do not care whose fault it really is. The bottom line is that it happened. And what happened next, is I deleted this app! And I will not recommend it to anyone. Because I am honest, and more persons need to be as well!

My Subscription. The portfolio set up is easy to work and happy with that. However the authors that write for seekin alpha have been wrong for me on every occasion. I started buying stocks when they say sell and sell when they say buy. They have always been late to the party for me. Look at the things they say to buy, there always up 25% or better already. I can see that myself. But at that point ur late to the party. Wasted money i guess. Cancelled subscription. Will not renew.

Surprised by the user experience. The app as well as the website offerings for chat are slow, clunky, and extremely buggy. Also, the subscription service I paid for did not have the best yielding results as far as investment advice was concerned. I originally signed up for a 30 day trial that I decided to extend for a year. I didn’t realize I was set to automatically renew for another year until 3 days after the payment was charged. I asked if I could get my money back since it had only been a few days and the investment advice lost me quite a bit of money, but I was told I could not get my money back. They wouldn’t prorate the charges, they just offered other services that I had no interest in in lieu of a refund. Don’t waste your time here. Poor advice, poor tech, poor results. Be careful here.

Free Version Turned into Garbage. And this was by design. Primarily because of the massive percentage of “CLICKBAITY” links to stories that are not accessible without signing up for yet ANOTHER SUBSCRIPTION. This is the same reason I quit clicking on anything to do with The Motley Fool. I would much rather see advertisements. Paid version might be worth it but too expensive given much of the content is written by skillful shills attempting to advocate for their position even when it is wrong-lots of competition out there and SA being “agnostic” representing a multitude of viewpoints, isnt in this regard always helpful enough to justify the price when you can find similarly misleading and helpful voices on social media.

Seeking Alpha. Seeking Alpha is a truly invaluable investment resource with reasoned opinions and recommendations by knowledgeable authors. Their ideas are balanced by questioning and commentary by interested readers who challenge those opinions as well as ask for (or offer) clarifications. Within the investment universe it’s about as democratic a debate as you can expect to find anywhere. Although the authors do get paid something for their posts, their real reward comes from the growing number of “followers” who have benefited from their ideas, sometimes extensively documented. Those with the most success attract followers to their newsletters. Most pretty reasonably priced.

Great resource. Glitchy app.. I’m a few months into a year-long premium subscription, and I do most of my stock research on my phone. The resource is fantastic when I works… but I can reliably expect the app to freeze on a loading screen about half of the time I try to open an article, search a company, or even tap the search bar. I’ve tried everything - deleted and re-installed the app multiple times, restarted my phone multiple times, made sure everything from the app to my phone’s OS is up to date (feel like I’m developing OCD from how often I've checked). Nothing has worked to fix the problem. If you do your research on PC or laptop, I highly recommend Seeking Alpha as I have had no issues on those devices. If you mostly use your phone, don’t bother with them - the app will only cause you a headache. Unless they patch this glitch before my subscription ends, I won’t be renewing.

Excellent App. I have been looking for an app which I can list my stock symbols to monitor and get a fairly decent quote when needed, this app fills that need. Best yet, I get great ideas and points of views by authorized contributors as well as those who provide sector ideas via newsletter subscriptions. Finally, you can contribute comments and opinions with each other on the social aspect of following a stock or ETF. The app is not buggy and provides alerts and pre-market mid-day and close news. A pro-version provides for much more data and full pro articles which I do not subscribe to yet. Enjoy!

Click bait articles. I have been reading SA for 9 yrs. It used to have good information. Not anymore! Now it is mostly click bait articles from unqualified authors. Their “pay per page view” only encourages this. Especially for controversial companies like Tesla Motors. One well known author in SA has written 100s of negative articles with false claims on Tesla just to get clicks. And SA encourages this. Statements like “Tesla CEO forces employees to work during Pandemic shutdown”! Which is just not true, I know 1st hand from friends who work there. When I comment and point out false statements SA deletes the comment. But the statement gets clicks and that’s all that matters to SA and the author. That’s what happens when you’re solely reliant on ad $. Anyone can author an article! The only qualification is the ability to tap a keyboard. Their open source format invites fraud. There is no fact checking! Rookie investors are duped by these so called “Authors” thinking they know what they’re talking about. It’s a shame SA has reduced to this! So long SA! I just don’t get any investable information anymore.

Information. I have dropped in on Seeking Alpha on a few occasions, and I am grateful that it is so very, very easy to follow, and I would tell anyone who follows the stock market, take a look you might be pleasantly surprised, I was. So you may not agree with how they handle the stocks, or the information that they achieve, but all I can say, give them a chance. I thought that I had let this come to seeking, but I am terrible sorry for my mistake, and this is not a mistake I will make again. I have had such a great year with the help that this app has given me since I start my stocks. My son, and I have become much closer since we have started this new adventures in our lives. He isn’t doing as much as my husband, and I but still a great feeling. I hope that wherever this takes us, I only want our friendship to continue to grow, and maybe make a little money while we do this. Thanks for such an easy way of following the stocks. Everything should be this easy.

Seeking Alpha tries to be all things & fails. I have been a reader of seeking alpha for over three years. Like anywhere else, you need to find writers that match your style of investing, and they have some to match any style. Unfortunately, SA has recently begun trying to be all things to all people by offering news, stock prices and stock charts to readers and it has caused their app to perform miserably. SA would have been 4 stars until this happened. I can’t understand why they allow this dismal performance for features that users neither need nor want. I have an app that I bought to give me real time price data as well as charts. Why would I want the delayed data offered by SA, particularly when it causes the rest of the app to perform so badly. They should at least allow users to turn off prices and charts.

Scammers and spammers. I’ve been around the market for almost 2 decades. It’s unfortunate that there probably is some good quality due diligence, just a few that ruin it for the rest! Seems there are paid Stock bashers to print misinformation and disinformation! Be very skepticalAnd always do your own homework not completely relying on these authors in there pontifications. Update: after being contacted by seeking Alpha, questioning me if I wanted to update my review… I thought I’d give a shot. I left the above review specifically because there are known shorters who author articles about investments that they are either currently or were previously in, at a short position. Through the articles they bash said company/ies that they were/ are involved in,therefore, self-servingly, manipulating stock prices.

Broad based information. I really like Seeking Alpha as it provides me with important information about potential investments from a variety of sources. It provides Quant ratings and ratings from both Wall Street and Seeking Alpha authors. This allows me to see and compare information from a broad spectrum. Many of the authors give in depth analysis with evidence to support their rating. All of this gives me more confidence to make income investment decisions.

Mediocre, redundant, states the obvious. Imagine if stock XYZ valued at $100 has gone up $20 over the past 10 days. This app would send you a notification title of one of its MANY opinion based articles. The article creator will claim that he/she is now bullish on stock XYZ, after it’s already gained. Well no duh! Another example: you get another notification for another opinion based analysis article on stock ABC and the many ways why it’s a terrible stock and you shouldn’t buy it. Then over the next few days/weeks, stock ABC jumps 20%, 30%, even 50% or more in value. Yesterday I got a notification from a quality finance app (yahoo finance) advising of a tweet from the president that sent stocks falling. The timing was almost literally 10 minutes before the fall. The other stock/finance apps I have were a little late by as much as 30 min. However, THIS app sent me an alert at approximately 2330 saying: Breaking News “President tweet sends market crashing.” Wow, a little late there by about 8.5 hours. Ridiculous! Other apps offer features FOR FREE that this app likely doesn’t offer in its paid version. But I’m just guessing. Why, would I pay for an app that is so lacking in its free version?

Good content, bad UX. I like the content, ability to construct watch lists, etc., but the app ranges from buggy to broken. Lately I can’t refresh my notifications at all to get the latest news. I also cannot comment on articles and the app says to check the confirmation email which never arrives, even though I’m registered with my correct email address (and yes, i checked spam). Content is also very slow to load when it does work.

Latest app version= unusable. I LOVE Seeking Alpha service and content. I review the app 3-5 tines a day and depend on it for important updates and have learned so much from the authors and commenters. I can barely use this new update. It’s a hot mess. I tried to provide feedback directly to them through their app and THAT doesn’t even work. Problems: -The comments all read as ? , that’s all, a single question mark. And as you know one of the best features of SA is reading the comments. -Linking to the articles from either emails or notifications on the app-train wreck -Portfolio navigation-locks up I read comments about uninstalling and reinstalling to fix these bugs which were caused by the new version developed to fix bugs. Portfolio navigation may be better but the other things are still a disaster. Was a great app-now it’s essentially unusable.

Jury out. August 2018. Down to (*). In response to my critical feedback at SA, they have removed my ability to comment on postings. No great loss, but censorship as a response to critical feedback merely validates my comments. As of today, the app remains buggy and all three indices are listed in dollars!! Does anyone even audit this app before they publish updates? Disappointing. May 2018. Back to (**). Another upgrade and another example of inadequate testing and deployment. Required I login with upgrade and then required I add a portfolio as it assumed I was a new user. Once added, I could access my portfolios and delete the new one. I don’t care for this version interface. It could be more compact and deliver more detail. Check out the Stocks Live app for an example of excellent interface design, and boy do they test before deployment. Previous rating (***). Better than previous rating (**), but I hesitate to score higher until a few update cycles. Lost my portfolio during one of the recent app updates.

App unstable and content paywalled. The app has become very u stable recently and often freezes when opening on my iPhone. I have not noticed the same on my iPad app. The app also has a good chance of crashing g when you post a comment. This has been the case for a while , but is now more common, since they review posts by an editor and added a pop up that tells you just that. The website has become much less useful, since they paywalls off older articles. I don’t think the quality of the articles warrants a paywall, but that’s just my opinion.

Seeking Alpha is Outstanding. Seeking Alpha, along with TD Ameritrade, are my “go to” stock market platforms. Have been using them both since beginning to trade public securities at bottom of Covid Crash (March 2020). SA provides access to multiple subscription services that have been particularly helpful to becoming a better investor. The two most helpful to me are The Market Pinball Wizard, which uses Elliott wave theory to track overall market trends, and the Dividend Freedom Tribe, which specializes in DGI stocks.

Going to Delete - Poor Recommendations Bad Pricing. Seeking Alpha advice is terrible first and foremost. They will rank stocks as a strong buy one month and strong sell the next, their inconsistencies and flip-flopping in recommendations make them an unreliable resource. Furthermore when you pay for a premium service, absolutely don’t believe the price will be the same for renewal the next year. I had a $99 annual subscription that renewed at $239 the next year. Last, everything seems to be behind a paywall now, even basic market news and earnings call transcripts. This content, which is available everywhere else for free, is what kept me coming to Seeking Alpha and what up sold me on premium service. Now that they want me to pay for that, I’m jumping ship and going to another platform. It’s been a decent run that turned downhill fast and I won’t be looking back soon.

Love app but.... This version crashes immediately. It's been a week, no access (iPad retina, iOS up to date). Feature requests: 1. Specific notifications be made available inside the app, for personal comment likes and replies, linking directly to the reply. 2. Consider a multi column view of stock list at top, like Yahoo finance app. 3. Make profile views available in app or linked to a browser view. So we can see who has been saying what.

Daily reading but app hangs every now and then. Daily reading but app hangs every now and then when reading an article

Nice app that organizes portfolio info well. Seeking alpha's novel idea of democratizing stock analysis (caveat emptor as always applies) finds a suitable app. You can select the stocks you want to follow and the app will display stock prices as well as links to related news/analysis. A stable, well-designed app, if a bit light on the available features.

Love the app but.... Stories do not load upon clicking the push notification. Nor do the new notifications show in the list of notifications in app. Have to delete and reinstall, which fixes it temporarily. Using iPhone X.

Great App. Really like this app. The only improvement I could suggest is provided commenter stats and comment within the app as at the moment need to go out into safari to see comment totals. I'd also like running stat of likes per comment to see who provides most useful comments

Sloooow app. Good service and content, but the app is a simple web wrapper and takes ages to open every time, compared to similar apps. Makes it impractical for quick searches, especially because it doesn't even open the keyboard when you initiate a search. Just a lot of low hanging UI fruit here that doesn't get addressed. Update: Thanks for the reply. Yes, ongoing issue. Please try yourself - compare how fast it is to search for a specific stock ticker from cold start, versus Yahoo! FInance app for example. 5-10x slower here unfortunately.

Great App. Full market news. Add your portfolio & get news alerts. It's a good app. Wish it was in AUD $ & £ to

Crashed - but easily fixed. This updated version (29th Dec 2015) repeatedly crashed immediately on opening (using iOS 9.2). Had to un-install and re-install to solve the problem. Works perfectly now.

Uncle Tom. Amazing reports. Great insights. Does Trump help the markets or not??

Please get rid of comment moderation. The comment moderation is silly! Why regulate comments for even paid users ?

Daily reading. Couldn't do without it.. Fantastic

Review. Would like more articles with analysis, rather than commentary

Intuitive layout and great read!. Recent modifications have further enhanced the usability of the app with an intuitive interface.

Beneficial. Insightful, thought provoking and overwhelmingly entertaining. This app keeps me up to date in the world of business without having to read scores of papers and drilling down into what I'm interested in. I use it daily and once you install it you will find it's indispensable.

Awesome application.. Brings the whole world together in a box with light speed

Excellent app. As an option trader I'm constantly looking for up to date news feeds and articles from credible authors. Seeking alpha delivers all of this.

A pretty good app. Give some nice motifications shows price off after hours/pre market and definetly gets some decent stocks

What Have You Guys Done?. Turned a once great app to a sub-standard one. The price refresh worked seamlessly before. Now the prices are stagnant even though market is already open. Someone should be testing this more vigorously before releasing it to the public.

It changed!!!. I used to love the app. One of the best one out there before. Now the update made it into something impossible to use. It doesnt make sense anymore. Too inconvenient and confusing. Please bring the old template back.

Great App. Forum style comments enabled on contributor articles make this a great sentiment gauge. I'd like a dedicated technical section.

Completely Broken. Shows a login screen that can not connect to Seeking Alpha and cannot add any stock to the watch lists after update. They should test before pushing an update. I expect small bugs but not an unusable app.

It crashes every time I try to open the app. I have update the app with the latest version but it is still crashing as soon as i open it. Could you please fix it?i have to use the web version but most of the time it tries to redirect to the app, and crashes again...

This app keeps crashing.. The app now crashes and cannot be opened from the icon on the screen.!! Service was great but since it cannot be opened from icon it has a problem.

Useful and keeps improving. I've used Seeking Alpha on the iPad for many years and it's an excellent and well thought out app. Good work guys!

Sensational app, highly recommend it.... Love this app, use it every day...informative, efficient, useful, easy to use, it ticks all the right boxes...

Not easy to use compared to the website version. Wish to view the financial part with details

Excellent app!. A brilliant app for monitoring watchlists and getting news and analysis that matters. If it had global indices and futures it would be the complete investor package.

Thank you. The exact and informative analytical tool seeking alpha has provided insight and wisdom applied to wealth Kempe Invest Kempe Project Management Kempe Wealth

Nice looking and easy to use app.. It's helpful to track down the stock I bought. Nice work!

Director. Fantastic - aggregating all my news into one simple and easy to access app

Stop playing with it!. I get your devs might be bored and need something to do, but stop messing with the simple stuff. Now the after hours values are in a separate tab in the portfolio view rather than in the main view when you load up the app? Might be time to go back to Yahoo Finance that still has it in the main view.

Not worth the money. First I want to admit that I have previously given this app 5 stars. I have used the app for years. The authors are diverse and of varying quality- some are excellent, others less so. The beauty in the past was that nearly all of the content was free. You could spend time and energy sifting through authors whose style, investing and writing, piqued your fancy. Over the past couple of years they have been slowly limiting free content. Increasingly you couldn’t read the most popular authors’ articles after 24hrs, but you could still find plenty of interesting articles to peruse. That all came to a halt this year. You can now get 5 free articles per month, nearly everything else is behind a paywall. What yesterday was free now costs $240/yr. Yes, they need to turn a profit. Yes, they have every right to make such a drastic, sudden change. Yes, many may be willing to pay for their service. I, however, feel there are better products available at that price and won’t be purchasing a premium subscription. Thank you for the good times to my favorite authors (and seeking alpha). It is now time to walk away.

Informative. Good app for up-to-date investment information

Pretty great without any catches. Great articles and news and annoying sales pitches or cons. Keep up the great work!

Beware of autorenewal behaviour. I was given a subscription as a gift for a year and very lightly used the product. Was autorenewed with no cancellation or refund options. Do not give your credit card details to this company.

Great! I use it every day to keep on top of news. Excellent, keep up the good work guys!

No premium features. Still under development

One stop stock shop. Great app, love tracking my portfolio and all of the article insights along with the comments.

Showing some love. Love this app as it keeps me up-to-date on all my stocks and other interests. Thanks team, keep up the good work.

Can i get refund. This doesn't have asx listing, please refund

Great. Easy to use and informative

US stocks only. This app only works if you invest in US. If you have portfolio covering multiple exchanges this app is very limiting as you will not be able to recreate your portfolio to track performance in this app. They should at least allow to add stocks on LSE, ASX etc to track here - this should be quite simple

Great analyses. Informative and balanced analyses - have worked with several other providers which don’t compare

Obnoxious, pushy migration to app degrades the experience. Not a bad app per se, but: in order to drive you to the app they broke key mobile web functionality, and degraded the web interface with a non-dismissible prompt to get the app. The app forces you through a sign-in process, and they then spam your email till you turn off their updates. I preferred the working web site to the app. I want to access Seeking Alpha as a website, not as an app. I don’t want to replace most websites I visit with apps, I don’t appreciate that choice being forced on me, and I don’t appreciate the unsolicited emails.

Geeting better at each version. A must for trading if you can afford to pay for live streaming service

Cannot open. Consistently getting error message there's no internet connection.

Convenient, helpful. I look up this App every day to help monitor stocks. Some contributors write insightfully. I wish the price chart were larger. Also there seems to be a bug which causes the price chart to display prices incorrectly. Still, one of my favourite Apps.

Functionality TERRIBLE. I would give this either 4 or 5 stars if it actually worked! I can't load stories on stocks when I go in (just gives me a few dot points) also when I load things like comments, it doesn't actually do anything just buffers. Very disappointing as I know the actual content is we'll worth reading.

Dark theme. Is not available

Investment Useful. I've been getting the emails over a few years. I find the app quite useful and easy to use.

Great app for a great site. I was excited to discover Seeking Alpha as a website and subscribed to the premium service pretty quickly. I was also excited that they had an app so that I could easily keep up to date with all the news and stock movements whether on my phone or tablet. The app works seamlessly with all my devices; highly recommended!

Top Navigation Bar. The black bar at the top of the screen has recently become very skittish, and lurches up and down as the cursor approaches it, even when the user is in the middle of scrolling down through an article while reading it. Making things even worse, the “go back” symbol (“<“) has recently been moved up and is difficult to access now without inadvertently touching the black navigation bar. This problem persists even after deleting the app and reinstalling it.

I Love Seeking Alpha App…… but…... Let’s be clear, I love Seeking Alpha. The information available and articles are amazing. I use this app multiple times per day. The only problem I have is with the app itself. Although I have cleared all notifications, a red bubble with the number 1 still appears on the app icon. It is annoying to look at.

Good advice. I have been using Seeking Alpha for several years and find it very helpful. I manage my own portfolio and I need all the help I can get to avoid making impetuous decisions. Seeking Alpha is the adult in the room. Thanks

Keeps refreshing. unreadable.. Can’t make it through a single article. Please fix or there’s no use for this app for me.

Very good information. Very helpful for investors.

BE CAREFUL. Once you sign up they have you, impossible to unsubscribe. They sell your details to other companies and you get bombarded by emails. Tried canceling, unsubscribing and contacting to no avail. I really dislike this type of company!

Garbage. Paid for all articles . Garbage decision.

…. App keeps on crashing and saying reset browser and java error stop using Adblock. Press and hold is stupid fix your program.

Limited to US. Can’t find stocks outside of US.

Outdated. While some reviews are current many ratings are from fall 2020 or older. And also, some of the writers are Elliot Wave Fanatics who believe that macro trends from 100 years ago are relevant today. As if the invention of the computer and then the internet as well as a world wide investor pool, has not changed everything. There are some good writers.

Way to much going on and no Canadian stocks.. Half my portfolio is Canadian stocks so I will continue to use yahoo finance

Stoke market. Good experience

Horrible research. It seems to me as though their researchers show bias and are market manipulators shorting stocks they talk malice of. I will not be supporting anything like this. Disgusting.

Can’t watch articles - current version issue. Currently, this app is refreshing while reading articles on both of my phones.

Crashing. can’t make it through a single article without it refreshing and sending it back to the top of the page - can’t actually finish an article . Uninstalling

Wholesome free info. Extremely useful site. Only improvement required is in charts area but all in all, it’s a wonderful site for novice traders

Data on data. At a time when there is too much data, Alpha brings industry expertise and well written research to make sense of it!

Version 5.0.2. On the second day using this update, my Portfolio completely disappeared. The app now says I don’t have a Portfolio. Tried to use the Feedback page to send you a message, but that isn’t functional!

Seeking Alpha:. Love it. Wouldn’t be without this app. Wish it wasn’t so expensive.

They broke the app. Notifications are a total mess. Comments need to be moderated so they stay on topic. I hate reading comments about how great trump is, or how terrible. Go on Facebook for that. I want to read about stocks. For every good comment are ten comments on unrelated stuff from uninformed bobble heads. SA is in such a rush to monetize that they’re not maintaining quality. I’m a paying member but now they have contributors with a paywall so now the contributors will write articles teasing what’s behind their paywall. They’ve added new contributors that aren’t as good. They can’t make it as an actual analyst so they spew noise on this app. They should allow discussions of stocks and not just articles. I would like to see more debate about a stock and not an article.

Update is awful. I was (and still am) one of the biggest Seeking Alpha promoters. This update however is absolutely awful - it’s glitchy, and very poorly designed. Very disappointed. If there was another platform with similar content, I would honestly stop using this app now.

New version. I dont like the new version, bring back the old version

Can’t view ratings on iPad. The app works pretty good on the iPhone but the screen is small. On the iPad, portfolio view does not display ratings properly (at all).

They censor opposing views. They censor opposing views and ban people that post comments they do not like. Probably they are allegedly dee state/cabal puppets.

Ceo. A lot of relevant information and analysis! The side itself unfortunately is not userfriendly right from the lock in procedures!

Great App to get a diverse view on the market and individual stocks. Like the plentiful opinions and info on markets and stocks offered via this app. Find it more useful than the info available on my transfer agent's website. Keep up the good work!

A Caveat to Canadians. They do not support any Canadian exchanges. They have been promising to do so for many years, but nothing. Use Yahoo Finance instead.

Informative and insightful. I’d be remiss if didn’t extol the virtues of how comprehensive and the level accurate information in building a complete investment portfolio. thanks

Great info but bug.... The app keeps refreshing when you get partway through an article and takes you back to the top.... started happening at least 2 weeks ago... Updated the review as the speed of resolving the bug was excellent. Update: spoke too soon. Problem is back again on the app… can’t use until fixed.. Further update, I have sent issue to your app support email as requested here.. I note that I am not the only one with this issues. Also , aside from review here, very difficult to contact your support from the app itself else you would have seen a lot of complaints already and fixed the issue.

Stop the annoying premium pop up. Got greedy? Yahoo is better anyways...

Comment important. Still late a little bit for info .. comment of people are not great ... we bull have fake comment but at least we accept cause it fun and make more alive .. good luck to you!

Great writing. Enjoy the short and to the point storyline

Don’t bother unless you’re ready to pay. You’re limited by the amount of articles you can read unless you pay for a subscription. AND IT DOESN'T HAVE CANADIAN STOCKS. Yahoo finance is the better choice!!

Bought the annual membership and realized..... Well, I find that most of the time if you share a different opinion than the original poster, like you get your comment erased that challenges their idea. That’s the thing I absolutely hate about this app, you end up getting a very one-sided perspective. I wish I never bought this annual membership, it’s all like communism

Notifications. Please bring Notifications back. From the looks of it a lot of people are upset with the deletion of this. Disappointed

Biased and censored. I ignored the rumours and bad reputation about SA, but it quickly became apparent they were true. Some of (most?) of SA’s authors are extremely biased, posting articles with no basis in fact or reality. Any pushback in the comments are heavily censored, especially those that refute the author’s claims, or otherwise make the author look bad. Most commenters seem to be aware of this censorship, as you will frequently see comments like “This comment will probably get deleted, but here’s why the author is wrong...”. It appears that SA censors it’s readers but not its own authors, no matter how biased or wrong they are. It is quite jaw dropping to read some of the “articles” that are allowed to be posted, and presented as “news” or information. Make no mistake, they are heavy in bias, light on facts (or at the very least cherry-picked), and dripping in opinion. So read their articles with a huge grain of salt and skepticism, and don’t bother commenting directly to the author unless you have your kid-gloves on. Otherwise, look forward to an email from the “Seeking Alpha Moderation Team”, informing you that your post was deleted, and that “dismissing the author’s ideas” is not tolerated. No, I’m not even joking. Better yet, if it’s the facts, truth or subjective opinions you are seeking, don’t waste your time with the articles at all. It is quite literally a waste of time and energy.

Good, but subscription cost is too high.. Love the ability to create personalized portfolios and the info they provide. To read more than a handful of articles in a month, you need to subscribe, which is priced way to high ($45/mo). In my opinion, Seeking Alpha should allow you to read the general articles when you subscribe to one of the Seeking Alpha Authors’ services, but it does not.

Can not log into my subscription!!. My subscription was extended by one year on November 07 2022 I can not log in anymore. The Seeking Alpha site response is … purchase belongs to a different user……? Please let me have a contact link to address this problem!

UX not so good. Why is the company profile not at the top of page? Why do I have to scroll through bunch of news and articles to find what the business is about? It should be at the top, right next to "Key Data" section. Please let us rearrange the sections and make each section collapsible, so that each user can start with section that is important for him or her.

Great Place to learn about Investing. My way to partner with experts

Asking money. No money no benefits of this app

Good content. But needs to incorporate non-US tickers (esp Canadian)

Worse with every update. I’d like to congratulate the seeking alpha development team for absolute garbage. When I downloaded this 2 years ago it was a wonderful app. Since then, each update has made it worse and worse, then they added insult to injury by requiring 90% of articles to be paid for. Now, the final straw. A UI/UX update that’s somehow made the apps design even less user friendly. Congrats on turning seeking alpha into the worst app on my phone.

Notifications. Where did my notifications go in this new version? I used to get all the notifications and now I get none. Can I revert back to the old version of the app? Thanks.

Latest version won’t load. I used to use this app all the time, but the latest version won’t load on my iPhone 7. I put in my login info, and it craps out. Disappointing

Would like customize porfolio columns. Hi, i always prefer SA to Yahoo because of high quality analysis here. However, i use this fewer and fewer because of the UI is cluttered now. One of the main annoying now is i cant see the full change% column on the portfolio now - as a invester i dont care about the change value for my stock, its the percentage that matters! Please either prioritize change % or give use the ability to reorder it. Thanks

Too Damn Expensive. Love the site and the content. Just too expensive.

ok. good news fed but cannot add canadian stocks to portfolio

Mute button does literally nothing. As the title states.

Broken app. UPDATE 10 May 2019 - Release version 3.11.5 still does not fix the problem with missing charts....... Charts do not display in the latest update (3.11.4), even though that update claims to have “fixed” this problem. And actually the charts have not worked properly in sometime because even when they displayed, the units on the x axis of the chart were often incorrect. (I.e. selecting 5 days would show 12 days of data). I have been using SA for several years but am about to switch to a different product for stock tracking. Too many bugs and it takes too long for the developers to fix problems.

Great Free App. Make sure you put all of your stock tickers on the app and turn notifications on, you get notifications whenever there’s news about the stocks you follow, such as upgrades & downgrades. I had to go into notifications to mute the audio from notifications & because it got to the point where I was getting so many notifications throughout the day, but it’s all very worth it.

Falling behind…. The first time I stumbled upon Seeking alpha, I enjoyed the aesthetically pleasing and fluid platform that provided an above average quality source of market-related news. It fell out of favor with me, for some reason or another, and I later returned based in his widely it’s recommended as a source of Stock Market news. The only aspect that irks me is the HUGE paywall. I’m not trading or charting on here and the only option to read anything at all is $20-$30/month!! At this point and considering the premium, a lack of tiered subscription options, even with ads, is lacking in my eyes.

Subscription Push is TOO Extreme. I’ve been a user of Seeking Alpha for just over 6 years now. In the past year with the 5 article per month policy the app is practically useless for news unless you just want to look at numbers. You cannot even open the high level earnings announcement for beat/etc. You would thing the Ad revenue would be enough to justify more viewership of basic articles without a subscription. Sad to see the app become practically useless unless you want to pay.

A closer eye on your portfolio. If you give SA access to your holdings or if you build your portfolio’s in the system, the amount of news and analysis on your holdings can be a little overwhelming at first. But the knowledge you can gain from the access to all of that information is amazing, and of course not having to put in the legwork to find it is the best part. It makes investing more efficient.

Excellent reporting & reviews. Seeking Alpha provides an excellent source of information for everyone to better understand the art of investment. When you take the time to read the reviews & comments from other investors, it will allow you to grasp the historical content of the many various companies. This knowledge gained over the years will become your basis for an investing method of you own selection into the future.

Fun While It Lasted. This was my go to app for market news and Tesla gossip. But suddenly everything is behind a paywall. The Developer response in every review is the same: We let you read everything but we limit you to some number of articles per month. So not really everything and the number is nebulous. I try every month to read just one article but each time I get the same message-you have reached your monthly limit even at the beginning of the month. So I give up. See ya SA. It was fun while it lasted.

Janky. It’s been a month now since the app was updated, which seems to have basically broken much of the functionality altogether. I have an icon badge showing 66 notifications (edit: it is up to 126 now), but then when I go into the app it doesn’t indicate where those 66 notifications are because only one of the tabs, notifications, has a tag that says 1 on it, but when I go into that one tab there is nothing there at all. Notifications has been absolutely empty for days now.

Super helpful website. The Quant system in SA not as straightforward as it seems. You can lose your shirt with it if you dont do some research first. On the other hand, there are hundreds of volunteer analysts and you can track their success rates by going looking at charts of every stock they ha been looking at. Take a tour of the whole SA environment, it's worthy of your attention.

Obtrusive, obstructive pop ups to rate my subscription are extremely annoying. I pay a subscription to seeking alpha. It is extremely irritating when I keep getting pop ups to rate the app or service (a product that I payed for and probably will not renew) while trying to use it to conduct research for my portfolio. I keep closing the pop up but this is third time today. So far I have not gotten much of a return on my investment for this subscription. When I use my valuable time to conduct research my train of thought and concentration gets interrupted by a pop up asking for a review. Don’t waist your money.

Great app. I use it everyday.. I haven’t found anyone to follow and or invest with yet, but i still enjoy reading the research and commentary. My only con for the app is a monthly ad-free fee of $10. I’m not drawn to click bait ads so without a way for me to make money from the market research and content, it is not worth spending that kind of money on. This is just my opinion, not a gripe. I still love the app. Thanks.

Not worth it anymore. This app used to be my favorite! I would tell my friends and family, and even complete strangers who wanted to start getting into investing to download this app before they did anything. Now it hardly works properly and is paired with a ridiculous monthly subscription fee that is absurdly expensive for a basic forum to collaborate with other investors. I have started shifting away from using this app and will most likely not be using whatsoever in the months to come. It was nice while it lasted but all good things must come to an end it seems.

Research. I find their research and ratings extremely helpful. Plenty of categories to choose from. Good updates on general investment news, trends and recent announcements pertaining to equities that they follow. Enough information to make well founded decisions without being overwhelmed with details. The basic service is also inexpensive. Recommend.

New Issue. Saddly, neither iPad nor iPhone APP is working right now. Just a black screen and their Logo is all that appears. The website cannot be accessed either on my iMac. There appears only a white webpage with the letter A in the middle. There is no ability to sign in. I have reported the issues to the SeekingAlpha tech team. There will be a solution at some point. Hopefully soon.

Glasgow’s Lhg’s. I feel things are more serious then. The common person realizes therefore we must take precaution. Any body that feels they need to stay home do it. We cannot pay your pay , we save your job. Loyd Butch GlAsgow I’m sorry thank you Let’s make it though this terribled time.

App is great but now behind a paywall. Its Seeking Alpha’s right to put content behind a paywall. So no issue with that from me. Just be aware of the paywall before downloading and creating an account. Good app, but i wont be subscribing. So still at least a 4* from me. I do hope they take a look at the video game industry where they have learned to value free 2 play users as they contribute to the overall community and make money off those willing to pay get more. I mean.. what happens when a guy spend weeks writing a high quality article for only few people to read it? Then goes to the comment section and two people comment. I think behind a paywall, the community will shrink, the content will then follow and shrink, then no way is it worth the subscription value.

Killing your app with upgrades. Why you guys just let it be as is. Each upgrade you guys make bring new bugs, making it non functional. With 12 Aug update i dont get any notifications, charts never populate, articles on stocks dont show up. I know there is new article just by using website version. You guys are making you customers really unhappy.

Has some strengths, but you need to take as just as something to think about. I like the views and some of the recommendations. I wish I could block some of the reviewers as they do not have a clue. The health score is rear looking, it does not do well with stocks or an industry that is breaking out, it also changes so often which make it useless to use as something to buy stocks with.

Many year reader. So I don’t really ever write reviews but as a trader handing my own retirement fund I have become addicted to SA. I don’t spend the $$$ on the subscription but I follow what they give me and I’m grateful. Aside from reading analysis I like reading the brains of comments. It’s just another piece of puzzle to help you vet and make sound decisions. Thank you SA, if you are ever giving away a subscription put my name in the hat please. Download it now.

Details. I don’t like your new format with scrolling down as opposed to across. I also don’t like that you no longer number the pages. My personal bias- which many of my investor friends agree with - is the longer the article, the less I am interested; thus I want to know the number of pages. My reason for this length bias is not laziness. I find, the longer the article, the more superfluous the details included. Thank you Bruce Kaplan

Bad Investment. I purchased an annual subscription only to find out Seeking Alpha doesn't link with Fidelity. They link with robinhood but not any real trading sites. I’ve asked for a refund but was denied. The website is basically worthless without being able to link my portfolio. They got the money out of me once but I’ll never say a good word about the website. Shame on you, Seeking Alpha.

Awful. Overheats phone and app always crashes. Been a long time user of this app and it’s been consistently getting worse. App literally overheats my iPhone 8 Plus and constantly crashes. Half the time quote pages don’t load for some reason and even when they do the app crashes so often it’s hard to finish an article sometimes. Same exact problem on my last iPhone 7s plus and my brother has same issues with his IPhone X. Does anyone at seekingalpha actually use this app? If you guys did you’d be too embarrassed to release this product to the public. I love the site but dread using it on my mobile. I’m even an author on there. Fix this garbage app

Provides a soap box for short and distort campaigners to stand on. For all the valuable content on Seeking Alpha, it has one failing fault: Allowing activist short sellers whose only goal is enriching themselves at the expense of legitimate investors — not “watchdogging” for the “public good,” as many of them laughably claim — to use their forum to manipulate markets with “short and distort” reports of dubious legality (making false or unsupported claims for the purpose of influencing financial markets is illegal). Until SA starts policing such content with a bias toward erring on the side the of the law, and not wealth-destroying short sellers hiding behind false claims of free speech, I refuse to become a subscriber.

So much potential. This really could be the one app I used. It’s news and notifications are top notch. When they work. Constant phantom notifications, news won’t load past 15 stories, pop up notifications won’t load the news story. You’d think they have this one figured out.... is there a paid version that is better ?

Bad App; Bad Environment. The app works, albeit in a very limited way, but that’s about it. Even so, it’s not so much about the app as it is about SeekingAlpha; the platform itself is heavily moderated and controlled. Every comment posted must approved by a moderator (sensor) and any edits or deletions must be also. It’s a miniature nanny state. So if you plan to sign up just keep in mind that any content you may contribute will fall out of your control. On another note, unless your a biased to a particular class of stocks, a short seller, and a narrow minded ideological investor, my advice would be to avoid SeekingAlpha and satisfy your need for investment information elsewhere.

Review of Seeking Alpha. The seeking alpha app has helped me make thousands of dollars in the last year. The price of the premium subscription is well worth the investment. The ability to get multiple view points on stocks I’m interested in as well as comments from members gives ma a lot of important information to make investment decisions. I highly recommend seeking alpha, it’s in my opinion the best investment site.

You don’t have agree with everything you read here..... ...but you should probably think about it. SA can be an education in itself if you use it intelligently. The contributors are frequently light years ahead of the analyses I pull together for my own use. I refer to it frequently. Currently, I use two main sites to support my investment planning. SA is right up there.

Seeking Alpha Balance. Seeking Alpha is an easy to use balanced platform that offers breadth and depth to investing. I enjoy reading the analysis of positive, neutral and negative articles all from the easy to use and understand venue. 10 years of past data on every company, quant ratings and independent authors are timely tools I use to filter and focus on winners and I subscribe currently to only the basic program.

Each update gets worse. Every update makes the app less user friendly, recent examples include an excessive amount of pop-ups and annoying glitches that make it seem more built for a desktop version than mobile. There used to be a nice page for all the articles and news for any stock you've added to any portfolio, but now it's separated into each portfolio. This makes keeping up with the information much more tedious. *Premarket pricing seems to be working again.

Better Every Year. I am a retired professional investment manager who manages four portfolios for myself and my family. I have been using Seeking Alpha for a number of years since I retired and lost access to my firm’s research analysts, stock data, etc. When I first started using SA much of the research was not very sophisticated, but it has gotten better each year and today a much of it is very good or excellent.

Game changer. Seeking Alpha has been a game changer for me as it ha given me a lot of good advice on short squeezes as I am a trader. It also has been right the majority of time when it says to sell. I’ve had it going on two years now and make sure when I find a stock to invest in that I list that stock on Seeking Alpha so that I can get the skinny on it.

Rating Seeking Alpha. I enjoy the thought provoking articles from the many outstanding Authors. I also enjoy the timely news Briefs which can be investable if they come out quick enough. I also learn quite a bit and REALLY enjoy the Comments sections, because I like the camaraderie displayed by fellow investors as well as the humor in them. All in all, I enjoy the time I spend on SA. Respectfully, Unknown Retired One

Why you should read Seeking Alpha. I have read SA for years. Don’t read it to “tell you what to do.” Read it to learn from the successes and failures of others. Read it to learn about different approaches to investing. Read it to learn your own philosophy of investing and for buying ideas to which you apply your own due diligence before taking action consistent with your own investing principles and goals.

RELIABLE DATA, BRILLIANT ANALYST REPORTS. I used SA for free on a trial basis and it has given me the necessary information bank to grow my investments astronomically. Literally. When the trial period ended, I couldn’t see myself letting go of the app. I’m now a premium user and I realize how much more useful information I have at my fingertips. If you are a serious investor, you absolutely need the premium service. It’s worth every penny.

100% what I was looking for!. Having 1 year experience in stock trading, decided to buy premium subscription of one the stock picking/research services available on the market. Based on reviews and vastly high amount of community as well as Quant rating system and Alpha Picks service decided to go with seeking alpha Premium & Alpha Picks subcription. My expectations is fulfilled fully! App is just as flawless and usable as their online platform!

Organization dream 🤓. The new changes in the app are awesome! Plus, great ways to track industry and competitor news. I love having access to bear cases against my favorite companies, because it helps me check the vitals of my investing theses. I have a day job (M-F normal business hours) and am my own portfolio manager. Therefore, the news notifications are extremely valuable to me as I can have a quicker response time if a major event should occur.

I want to love this app but.... Mostly works well however they clearly have an unacknowledged problem with the comments being cut off. Updating the version seems to fix but then it reverts back and forth. And why can't u bookmark articles, or search e or author? Improvements come at snails pace. I would buy ad free if these kinds of things were fixed or added. Updated May 2019 Even after installing the latest , price charts still not appearing, pls get new mobile devs

Articles don’t show!. Yep! The most SHOWSTOPPING bug an app like this can have is a rampant problem. What’s worse is that they don’t do anything to acknowledge the problem let alone fix it. Getting in touch with them and explaining it is a messy forum with 80%+ of all issues not responded to and it’s impossible to go through them all to see if others have the same problem. The search feature provided doesn’t help. No one describes the problem the exact same way and SA themselves have no desire to consolidate them as it makes them look incompetent. 🤷‍♂️ Pure nightmare. It’s bad on top of bad on top of bad.

Amateurish Journalism. Most articles are lacking in substance and written by people who lack knowledge of the nuances in market segments they write about. For instance they have people writing about retail that do not understand the significance of ‘same store sales’, authors that write about the E&P space and have no concept of FV10, those that contribute one sided self serving articles, or others that don’t understand that significance of cash flow when lenders assess creditworthiness and erroneously focus to much on GAAP income to pronounce to the world that company A can’t possibly refinance their debt. Probably 3/4 to 4/5 of the authors do not know what they’re talking about or have an agenda. On top of this, if you write comments that are critical, but important for readers to understand, your comment gets either edited or broomed entirely. I think overall, if you are using this for anything other than getting stock quotes and looking at the news feed, you are better off without this app.

No Good for IPAD. Good App in many respects, however, it is basically unusable on an IPAD. Works well on PC but forget about it for IPAD (don’t know about MAC). Unlikely I’ll pay for another year of service as I can get all the critical data from my Think or Swim acct for free. The non-stop stream of free investment ideas/articles just add to the cacophony of speculative noise and primarily serve as advertisements for all kinds of investment newsletters/services & (of course) juice the recommendations they already made to their paying customers. Bit of a racket IMO.

My app just freezes. I really like the concept of the app just haven’t been able to use it since initial set up. Every time I click a notification or open the app I can’t click anything. Not too cool but I will wait around and see if it gets fixed! Obviously not performing at a 5 star level but I will give you 4 as I like the concept and will further my knowledge of my investments. Thanks for reading

Stop updating the app.. Seems like every time seeking alpha updates the app, they find a way to make it a little bit crappier. Images, graphs, and new articles won’t load with this update. I don’t get the articles for an entire portfolio at the bottom of the main screen with this update. I assume that’s some kind of “feature.” Not being able to view percentage change and dollar amount change at the same time is a bit of a head scratcher. Hopefully they get this straightened out or another company/app replaces them.

Pays for itself!. This app is like having a a good CPA. They both pay for themselves. This app and its advisors have helped me acquire and maintain a portfolio with 19.6% growth over the Dow and 16% over the S & P for this 2023 YTD. So this app provides the information and real time prognosis to allow for long term solid growth financially. At least for me! I am so glad to have it and use it every day! Thank You.

Once Again… losing access to important research access. I am so tired of the Monetization of everything!! Seriously….do you really think we can all pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars a month for 40 separate subscriptions?! WE CANNOT. I have paid monthly for a couple of years now. SA helps me stay on top of my portfolio. TODAY … I suddenly lose access to important research information. Suddenly ETF top holdings information is no longer available at my apparently measly monthly subscription level. I guess this is just one more way to try to force us to pay more and more and more. Thanks so much for that. I will now have to cancel seeking alpha and find another information source. I can’t tell you how angry and disgusted this makes me. Regards from average land… where we cannot pay you $500 a year.

Financials still under development???. The last version of the app had financials! This used to be my go to app for quick company analysis, I have since switched to Yahoo Finance. Very disappointed in the app update, it seemed to achieve nothing positive, only changed around the appearance - and I think they even screwed that up.

Back button stopped working on iOS. I like the mobile app but recently the back button in upper left corner stopped working. I can click on a stock and see chart but if I select news, read it and try to select back button to return to portfolio, it doesn’t work. Please fix it!! 8/9/21: It’s fixed. Thank you

Article limit. Have used for about a year. Have traded for about 2. Success rate pretty good. Seeking has probably helped. The article limit is nowhere explained. The premium price is a bit more than I can divert. I have a basic subscription. Would sincerely enjoy still having access to this fine product, even tho my methodology doesn’t necessarily use this type of info. Seeking offers a different view. That is the benefit. If I don’t get seeking's view, I will get someone else’s. I sure hope this article limit is just a glitch. Tks!

New Portfolio view not an improvement. I upgraded seeking alpha and the portfolio view is now worse. I used to be able to see my whole portfolio with price change AND percentages on one row. Also, my entire portfolio could exist on one page. Now with its larger font and toggled price/percentage box, I can not see it all at once and multiple scrolls are needed to check on my stocks. Can we have an option to go back to the more efficient screen from the previous version?

If the app won’t scroll, uninstall and reinstall. I was having issues with the most recent update and could not scroll or see my notifications. After deleting the app and reinstalling, I am now able to scroll down and see news. I depend on Seeking Alpha daily for news and am happy to have a working app again!
