Needs an update!. Fireside developers, The Room is having issues with the latest iOS. Portions of the game that play videos, such as when you closely inspect the photo of the mansion with the eyepiece on, now just show a black screen. In spite of this I’m still attaching a 5 star rating because your games are just that good, and this was the beginning of a truly epic franchise. That said, please come back and fix the problem so the game still runs as intended! Even today, it’s still a game I go back to play again from time to time!

Good game but some problems.... I downloaded this game because it looked interesting and had really good reviews. I liked it at first, it challenges you and has some really fun puzzles to solve, but then I opened the safe and pulled out an ornate box. I solved most of the puzzles on the box, but when it came to looking to looking in the telescope, my whole screen went blank. I have been reading other reviews of this game and approve of most of them, sure the game is really good and it doesn’t have adds, but only about 1 person has had the same problem as I have. No matter how many times I restart my iPad and restart my progress in the game, the glitch is still there. Please consider my advice before downloading this game.

Enigmatic & compelling steam punk puzzle game. Mysterious and compelling puzzle. I think this is what is meant by"steam punk." An emphasis on intricate and well crafted Victorian era technology. Remarkable graphics. I wish I could turn off the music, sound FX or both if desired; but maybe just have not figured this out. It would be nice to have a flow chart of a completed episode. Also, when one completely hits a wall there appears to be no recourse. What happens if you really come to a point where you simply cannot figure out the next step? You're done?

Better than Myst. If you liked Myst, you'll probably like this even more. It's charming in its presentation and easily pick-up-able while still presenting a challenge. With the addition of The Room Three this small company has expanded the world of The Room, but this is where it started, and still worth your time. It's relatively small and won't take too long - like some games that are intentionally difficult for the sake of being difficult - to finish, but it does feel incredibly satisfying and your time won't feel wasted from playing a game, which can't be said of many games, especially of an iOS game. I simply love this series. I can't say a bad thing about it except that I wish there were more, and now that there is in the two sequels, there's nothing bad to mention. It's just great. You won't regret it. Thank you, Fireproof, for your hard and beautiful work. You've made the very rare perfect thing.

I wish more games were like this. I downloaded this game back in 2013, i will play it, uninstall and reinstall it like a year later to play again because it is that good. I wish more games were structured this way, its a great puzzle game with no ads or in game purchases, and great graphics and game play. It’s simple and clean and a dream overall game. Well done devs. I do feel like its important for me to share a small bug, in the third chapter there is a section where you have to put a picture in front of a small camera and then put your lense on so you can decipher the message. The problem i have is every time i try to put on my eye glass and look through the small camera my game crashes, even though its a bit annoying its ok because when ever i get back into the game the message is there so i dont get stuck at that part.

$5 Well Spent!. When I first saw this game a couple of years ago, I was a bit trepidatious about the $4.99 sticker price, I'm not gonna lie. It feels like a lot of dough for one app. Then I read some reviews (overwhelmingly positive) and I decided to take the plunge. I am glad I did. My then 5 year old daughter and I started the game and couldn't put it down. From the brilliant, seamless graphics, to the eerie storyline, we were engrossed for the better part of two hours. We reveled in figuring each little puzzle out, with my daughter's triumphant cry of, "I found something!" after insisting I let her drive the game for a bit being a major highlight for me. So many puzzles... If you enjoy a little light intellectual stimulation, this is less than what you might spend at the movies and will bring you hours of fun. We trot it (and its sequels) out about once a year and run through them again. You'll remember some of the puzzles, but not enough of them to ruin it, especially if you do all 3 in a row.

Amazing game - Simply the best. Elegant, sophisticated, intelligent and clever. Beautifully executed with pretty much flawless gameplay, and just the right amount of hints when you need them. So totally worth the 99 cents it costs. This game stands out head and shoulders above most of the other ones out there. In a class by itself. Update: It's been a long time since I played this game and I'm now in the middle of replaying it, and it's just simply the best. That's all there is to it. Well.... except for The Room Two and Three. Thank you Fireproof Games!

GREATEST GAME EVER!. WOW! I've played the first room three times, the second room twice, and the third room once! They are all really awesome! But.. I wouldn't suggest nine and up because just now I read some reviews about this game and some said the game is evil because there are demonic symbols. I believe them. The symbols did look pretty fishy... Also because the games got creepy sounds, creepy atmosphere, and a creepy storyline! About the storyline.. It's way to confusing. I honestly still don't know the story too much. This is all I know: your a person.. That comes to an attic because your curious.. You read a note from a ghost known as A.S... I think he experienced the null and died because he couldn't get out and became insane.. The null is locked up in a box and you have to open it.. When you do open it you go inside the null world and that's where the first game ends! The second game begins where you are inside this different room, you find another note. It's from A.S... He says some interesting stuff.. Like he's not the only ghost in this place... I'm telling way to much information! Oop! This review is getting way to long so I'm gonna rap it up! THIS GAME ROCKS!

This is a fourth time I played this over last five years. I love these games, I like games that require me to think when I play,not just find matching piece,then shattering them. I get so bored with those they’re mind numbing. I hope they are not finished making these kinds of games. I played them all. Good job making this game. Yes, I played them all a couple times. I do a pretty good job of forgetting a lot of it. So I still have to think some. lol

Help! The Room has entrapped me!. I can't stop playing this game. I've become enchanted by it mystery. It grabs hold of you and takes you down a blurry rabbit hole of occult and alchemical bewilderment. Similar to the atmosphere of games like Myst, The Room creates this air of haunting and mystical enigma. Constantly stringing you from one clue to the next, expect players to think critically and for themselves. The narrative is vague but creates something of a hook to keep the motivation to continue down the spiraling mechanisms of its strictly touch based and requires you to interact with the objects; lending to immersion and creating a tangibility to the room and objects of the game. I should give would be players a tip before you begin. This game uses multi touch gestures every now and again for some of the contraptions. Don't forget to experiment with all the tools and movements possible. Some things are not as they appear at first glance so always take a second look. Take your time too. There's no reward for rushing through this masterfully crafted game. I cannot recommend this game if you're not interested in solving puzzles that require more than a few taps and simple mechanics. This is a thinking mans game. Don't miss out on this series. It's one of the best games I've ever gotten on my iPad.

Clever, intriguing and just a little addictive ;). I keep coming back to this game after a few months break. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous , beautifully rendered, and the puzzles tricky enough that I can’t easily remember them after a break. There are hints available if they’re needed that will help most players keep going. The only problem I’ve had is that some scenes that provide solutions for further puzzles freeze the game at a black screen, but closing the game and reopening it seems to make the solution visible on re-entry. I now have a VR headset and intend to buy the VR version of this since this one has provided so much enjoyment over many years.

Deserves 5 stars, but.... Incredibly well done. The puzzles are visually stunning and creative. The difficulty of the puzzles isn’t really what’s good, it’s the exploration of the complexity and the discovery that is the challenge AND the reward. I’m giving it 4/5 stars because there was a repeated technical issue that caused the screen to go black and just hang the app at several places of transition. I’d have to minimize it and bring it back or kill it and restart/resume to proceed. I can’t recommend this to a more technologically unsavvy person like my grandmother, she won’t understand what it happening during those points of failure. Developers may contact me for details, I don’t want to reveal puzzle stages here to describe when the app locked up.

The series is a true masterpiece. I’m playing this game with my cousin right now, and I have to say that all of these games have enthralled us, from the beautiful realistic graphics to the gameplay. Unfortunately we don’t meet up often so we’re only on the third one (and I’m looking forward to the next time we can play), but I highly recommend it for those F2Ps who are hesitant to get the first game for $0.99. It’s definitely a steal, you’ll love it, and you’ll want to continue going to the next room game in the series. Best dollar I’ve spent, and this game really should be worth so much for for the experience we’ve gotten out of it. This game puts so many others to shame.

WOW! The Best Puzzle Game I’ve Ever Played!. I downloaded this years ago but I guess I never played it. Well I did today. I’m not a huge iPad gamer, but compared to those I have played, this is by far the very best. The graphics, the vibrant colors, the way you navigate (to include tilting the iPad), all of those things make this game stand head and shoulders above any I’ve ever seen. I love the way the hints are done. For one thing you don’t have to pay for anything, nor wait for it to “recharge”, instead the game senses when you need a little help and gives you a clue. If you still can’t figure it out it gives you a slightly more specific clue, and then it provides an even more specific clue. However, it is not an “answer”, you still have to figure it out. I’m stuck in a spot and tried to get help with various walkthroughs, but they appear different, (I am looking at this one, not the follow on’s). Maybe it changed over the years, I don’t know. In any case, as far as puzzle games go, this is absolutely the best I’ve seen.

Best of the best. There really is no other escape room app like this. I've played 5 others and there is no level comparison. It is beautifully designed, mentally stimulating, addictively challenging and sweetly rewarding when a puzzle is revealed. While I may rush through other escape room apps (they are that easy), I savor each of these puzzles, taking the time to enjoy the special effects and beauty of my surroundings. Tonight, I finally sought help with a more difficult level and still it took an hour to solve it. But we immensely enjoyed the journey to knowledge and had some terrific interaction while discussing possible options. My partner pointed out that the app uses all the special components of the iPad. I've been to several live escape rooms around the country with different family members and this game rivals the best of them.

Beautiful, engaging and fun!. The ONLY thing I would change about this wonderful game would be to make it never end. It's that good. Please please please please PLEASE make more. UPDATED: A couple of years later, and I've just played it again. It's still as good as the first time. I also have The Room Two and The Room Three, and they are worth it as well. If you can ONLY get one of them, Three is especially nice because it allows multiple player profiles. But really... just get them all.

A Beautiful Gem of Escape Rooms. I have played the The Room games for years, and it remains my absolute favorite escape room app. The puzzles are spectacular, the hints are just right, and the graphics are beautiful. One suggestion, though. In The Rooms 2, 3, and 4, there is an account system, and in The Room 3 and The Room 4 there is an improved hint system. It would be superb if you could add these in to The Rooms 1 and 2. And also; for the people yelling at Fireproof for using ‘occult’ themes; a) it’s a videogame jeez, b) that’s why they put it under 12+! All in all, The Room is a classic and the high standard for all other escape room games to try to match. Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned the enrapturing story!

The Room and The Room Two. I was so ABSOLUTELY AMAZED at the extraordinary genius of all of you. All of you have a God given talent for interactive graphics I have ever seen or had the privilege to play. Next is Room Two Even more amazing 😉 I was actually very anxious while playing Room Two but I could not put it down - 8 hours today and finally got out of the house just before it was destroyed. These have been more exciting than Star Wars and I really love Star Wars but to actually interact with the characters in both of the Room games absolutely amazing. The Room 1, 2, and 3.. Enter a world seldom seen, or even thought of by most. Follow the trail left behind by the first seeker. Using deduction, imagination, and quite often, clues, which you will need, you will be led into another world where you will forget the, perhaps, false one you live in. Leave your cares and worries behind. To make this journey, it will take utter concentration. If you are brave, fortuitous, and persevering, you will be rewarded. I have also found that after a spell, making the journey again can be a fresh challenge. So jump in and enjoy. GOOD LUCK!

Enjoyable problem solving. I was one of the generation that grew up on Riven and Myst so I was definitely intrigued by these games I enjoyed playing The Room due to its many multitask puzzles. There were quite a few times that I just stared at the screen in an attempt to figure out my next move. I enjoy the type of game that makes you think, rather than just shooting and killing everything in sight. My only complaint is the hint icon that would help you along if you got stuck but usually I was a couple steps ahead of it already. Not saying it did not come in handy sometimes, but it was a bit of a pain because it seemed it was every move you made it was giving you a hand to help. I was a little disappointed that it ended as quickly as it did, because I was able to solve it in a little over eight hours, noncontinuous because I was at work. Still, it was a very nice game. I am going to check the reviews on the remaining games before I decide to purchase. I hope they get harder as they go or it really will not be worth my time in buying them. Good luck if you decide to purchase this game. It is definitely madefor somebody who think outside the box

Perfect!. This game has everything from easy puzzles to impossible mazes! I play this game with my sister, and we just couldn’t get the last folding key! This is game may be a little creepy, but it’s worth the frustration of completing the puzzles! But, my advice, play this with a friend, if it weren’t for my sister, I wouldn’t have gotten past chapter two. Play it with a friend, turn up the sound, and test yourself.

The Room. This is my second time playing this game. The first time I came across a good few years ago, I thought there could be nothing better. Then the makers came out with II, III and others. I have played them all, and in each case have been just mesmerized by them. The technical, and visual of it all is breathtaking. So, I saw this and though I would have another go, and it was just as brilliant again. I think I am going to play them all again over a few months. I prey and hope that they come out with another new one real soon, bigger, better, longer the best you you ever play.

Fireproof sets a High Bar for Games. The Room, Room Two and Room Three have set a standard for iPad games over the last few years that has not yet been (and IMHO may never be) matched. The games are intuitive, inventive, immersive, challenging yet approachable, and extremely replayable. They are games you can pick up for a couple minutes or an hour and always walk away with a sense of achievement and a desire for more. If I could only have three apps on my iPad, these three would be my choice.

Magical. Remember when you were a kid and you got a present and had no idea what was in the box and you opened it and something wonderful was now yours? That's The Room. You open a part and something magical appears and leads you on to something else magical. This game is elegant; this game is beautiful; this game is like a really good book . . . you want to see what happens but you slow down reading it because you don't want it to end. The goal here is to enjoy the journey . . . slow down and savor the magic of it. Thank you Fireproof Games . . . you should be very proud.

Still the best game series on the internet. I first downloaded The Room , oh maybe 12 years ago or maybe more. All I know is it was a very long time ago,. I have solved the puzzles many times and I most likely will re-play this game and its follow ups many more times. It is never boring. The graphics and everything related to it is perfect. There are no glitches, there are no mistakes. The graphics are phenomenal and the only thing I could wish for is for there to be a new Room to explore !

Play game I’m recommend it for 12-year-olds and up. This game is awesome and my mom got it and I watched her for a little while and she was already on room two I thought I was only six years old and I did it all by myself except the last chapter oh my grandma got this app before all of us and she’s already on the room 3 this game is very hard and now I am eight years old and I just finished. It took me a long time well because the two last track chapters were very tricky and I had to ask my mom for help on some OK on the last two chapters of room one I love the nest full movie way farther because there’s more station that is usual for made this game because my mom said that scientist made this game so it is very hard sometimes you’re thinking too deep and sometimes you’re thinking to low into it The only thing I needed how old was the laser puzzles Where are you had to make a sign and there is tons of lasers

One review for all 4 installments.... I cannot say enough about The Room and the three other installments that followed it. In a world of quick money games that bore within minutes, require constant financial contribution, or are riddled with ads The Room is a refreshing game of puzzles and brain teasers. I greatly enjoy games that make me think. I have redownloaded these games on multiple occasions to play them, and turn off the hints now that I’ve played it so much. I wait long enough to forget the little puzzle nuggets placed throughout the game play, then start playing again. I also check the App Store in hopes of a new installment. I have told more people about this game than any other I have played and get super excited when friends and family tell me they can’t stop playing either. I could not say enough good things and will only say that I am hoping for more in the future.

You need to answer people for this immediately!!. Tons of people are sending reviews on chapter 2 movie sequence through the telescope! It is not playing and only gives a black screen! A lot of us really need you to answer us and help fix this ! I love your games I’m never going to give you anything lower than a three star and I have already played this game several times and this is the very first time I’ve ever had this problem the creators need to work on this game again and start doing updates because it’s not working now. I’m trying to contain my anger because I genuinely love the room games and would like to see further updates. Thank You

A Must Have Game!!. I am happy to say that this is absolutely one of the best games I have ever played. It is fun, addictive, and challenging. The hints give you the perfect push in the right direction without telling you what to do. Yes, it is challenging, but the satisfaction you get when completing a part of the puzzle is incredibly rewarding. I am blown away by the amazing graphics and overall quality of this game. Also, I have yet to come across any advertisements. Not to mention, it is COMPLETELY FREE. There are no micro transactions for more hints or clues, which I was worried about when first playing. This game is a must have for any and all ages, no matter what kinds of games you like.

Such an awesome game. The game is absolutely perfect it quizzes the mind you have to be smart to know the things even if you don’t think you’re the smartest there are clues that will help you and guide you through the game and I just think this is the best game a kid could play or a grown-up for that matter either way the game will be fun exciting and creepy by creepy I mean the game can sometimes be a little bit frightening so I do recommend children under four play with an adult another fun thing about this is that there are things that can allow you to choose your profile like dad and he wanted us to create your daughter or your son and it would make you feel very very special and even if you don’t like that you can not delete it and just add another one so I think this is a private game for a party for him

Ode to the old Myst games. I remember playing those Myst games on my computer and love how they sucked you in. However now $.99 is well worth the addictive entertainment as well as the rest of the trilogy. It's nice to see a switch from first person shooters that don't challenge your brain as much and does not promote violence. Bottom line, I think this is a great tool for those that like to exercise their brains instead of playing games that simulates blowing out other peoples brains.

Best Puzzle Adventure Game EVER. Fireproof Games has ruined almost all other puzzle games for me. I made the mistake of making The Room series my first venture into the world of adventure-puzzle games. I expected this level of graphics, tutorials, story lines, and challenges in all games of this type, but I was sadly mistaken. Many have tried to copy The Room, but none compare. There are still some cute and fun adventure puzzle games out there - just not on this level.

Excellent Game - Top of the Line. I have played other hide and seek, puzzle games but The Room puts them all to shame. Excellent puzzles, hints that make you think in other contexts rather than give you the answer, wonderful graphics and sounds that are both eerie, creepy, yet familiar at the same time. I can not believe that what we see is not real, everything works so well, controls are so precise and the game flows so logically, so intuitively that the essence of the game kind of makes you question your own reality. Highly recommended and I look forward to more games from this creator.

Marvelous visuals. Don't like the creepy audio. I second all the high praise for all the puzzles. Fun and a mis of easy and challenging to keep going and not giving up. Only two quibbles 1 the clues should be restricted to the clue area. When I pick up or tough a thing I don't want a clue automatically displayed about it. (Like "I'd better finish the side of the table before I go here"). I only want to see that when I ask for it. 2 the sound track is often quite unpleasantly scary. The whispering, the clunking, footsteps, and squeaks are disconcerting. I like scary movies but I do not want scary while playing a game thank you very much.

Great!!!. Great game with awesome and challenging puzzles. Incredible graphics with good storyline. We used our Bluetooth speaker with it, turned up the volume and we felt like we were there, feeling a tad scared, more often than I expected. I jumped several times, pulling my hand away from the screen. Really like the creepy feel. The music and sound effects, definitely a plus for this gaming experience. I recommend this game, if you enjoy finding clues and puzzles with an added creep factor. Moving on to The Room Two now....addicting!

Great gameplay, troubling subject matter. When one plays The Room, The player has to admit that the quality of the puzzles and style of gameplay are top notch! Some of the best in the entire app store. However, the content, or the subject matter behind the puzzles ought to be deeply troubling to any player. Despite the game designers' best efforts to assert otherwise, The Room will introduce the player to occult material. Tarot cards, astrology, satanic symbology, conjuring of demonic presence (Ashtaroth/Ishtar/Isis), and Sigils, among others. The developers suggest it is all just coincidence or meaningless because the artwork was merely invented for the game, but buyer take note that you are not purchasing a religiously neutral game. More transparency at the point of purchase would be preferable. Just know what content you are about to venture into.

Only App Store Purchase Ever!. I’m really old school from a time where most internet was free. I have iPads going back to the 1st one and this The Room is the first and ONLY AppStore purchase I have ever made. If you like puzzle games like “Myst” you’ll be hook inside of 5mins. This is also my first review of any App. It’s that good, I had to give them my money, and my props. BTW, I bought all 4 of the room games, and just started replaying from the beginning for the 3rd time. This is a purchase you won’t regret. Perfect balance of story, intrigue, and difficulty. Bought the 3rd game the day it came out!

So much fun!. I only recently discovered this series, being an old fan of Myst & Riven and similar mystery/puzzle games. I played all three versions of Legacy then went looking for something similar. Several reviewers of that series mentioned how much they’d enjoyed The Room and its multiple versions. Just completed #1. Yes, I’ve already purchased #2. I’m anticipating several hours to come with this excellent game. Thanks to the developers for such a beautifully crafted experience.

Entranced. This was definitely a unique experience of its own to engage in the game. Clues and art. Music and ambiance. Suspense and surprise. All come together to create a world were you're imagination is left with more questions but with just enough intrigue to keep on going. I found the challenges clever and the clues not to obscure to figure out. And if you get into a thinking block the guided hints help enough not to give away the clue but to guide you to it. I definitely enjoyed the game and sought the next chapter to explore and test my mental wit.

The best puzzle game I've played is The Room. I've grown up with a love for playing games, lots of games from a wide variety of genres, on all the formats. However, after all of those years and experiences, The Room hooked me right away and I've been advising other gamers to try it out. I think everything works so well together; the controls are precise, the graphics and animations are superb, the music and sound effects are great and really build an eerie atmosphere. Make sure to turn your brightness setting to full so you can see all of the details in the shadows.

Worth 10x More. I never feel an Ipad game is worth real dollars and have only played free games. My daughter-in-law recommended this game to me at Christmastime and boy was it ever worth it! The graphics blew me away the minute I began. The sophisticated programming to allow virtual reality movement within the game floored me. This game is worth 10x its current measley asking price. I must admit to using a walkthru in way too much of it but will be going back months from now and doing it again without it. It will be like a whole new game again. Gotta run...going to buy "The Room Two".

OMG! LOVED IT!. I originally got the Old Sins first -didn’t know there were other- and👏🏻I👏🏻Loved👏🏻It! EVERYTHING WAS SO PERFECT! No malfunctions or bugs, great music, great graphics, great PUZZLES! Some puzzles took me awhile to figure out which is what made it a great game for me, this is a great puzzle game that has a VERY good balance between hard and simple/easy. Also, when reading reviews I saw that a lot of people had put bad reviews and, I just- I have no words for those people. This game is great period. I’m so glad that I spent my money on this and all the others. I also read in some reviews that there were signs of demonic usage or something but honestly, I dont care, I know that you creators don’t mean harm from them and I don’t take them that way. All in all, great game, it’s worth the money, don’t take the bad reviews to heart, take them to the brain and make something useful of them. Keep up the great work it would be nice to see a new Room game for the series! 👍🏻👍🏻😁😁

Really great, but.... This game is fantastically crafted- the graphics and sounds are outstanding. I do think, however, that's just a bit too hard. I've played similar games and I'm generally pretty good at them (I rarely need help), but I found this game to be more and more frustrating. I often spent RIDICULOUS amounts of time trying to figure out the next step, and when I finally figured it out, I'd think, "and why would I have known that's what I was supposed to do?" Most games like this pull me in and make me want to ignore the rest of my life and keep playing, but this just frustrated me.

Beautiful, Steampunk, Interactive Puzzle. The subject says it all. And what more could you want? Taking place in a fictional setting not that far from ours, it takes you on a mysterious journey where you must solve puzzles that really makes you think. You’re so tempted to use the clue button, but a part of you really doesn’t want to, since it’ll ruin the immersion in a way. This series is a beautiful line of mind blowing games that really makes me wish I was the protagonist. Or at the very least, I wish I could do an escape room like this.

I’ve enjoyed hours of intrigue, anticipation, frustration, and success. The clues helped me move forward and then I found myself ahead of the gentle clue “beep” which was satisfying. Yes, for the curious.. Unique, intriguing, just a touch of darkness*, and satisfaction upon solving each puzzle. Cool interface and nice graphics; I could do without some of the ambient noises (can they be turned off?). I am about 4 puzzles in, discovering the plot little by little. * Warning: was not prepared for the creepy aspects of the game initially- not sure I would want my kid to play it until I have seen the rest of the story. The Tao of Games?. My first game on a device. Doing second iteration now. Just as entertaining, frustrating and rewarding as the first time in 2019. No longer works. As others have noted, the game no longer loads vital video clues on iOS 14 and its unlikely to be fixed (sadly). It should be deleted from the App Store so people don’t waste their time playing the game since it’s impossible to finish. I guess you could look up a cheat guide, though what’s the point?

Loved the game until..... I loved playing this game until I tried to put the square peg into the square hole. Tried over 3 days and countless ways of aligning up the square peg to the square hole... but app stuck on that step. I appreciate that the keys have to be properly aligned but this peg is a square so all sides are equal! So deleted app out of frustration as couldn’t finish game. Shame as I am a big fan of your puzzle games.... without this glitch, definitely higher rating...

Amazing. I first played this chapter years ago and revisited recently and I have to say it’s just amazing, the graphics are great and the game presents just the right amount of challenge so not anything to get frustrated over. You can definitely finish it in a day but it doesn’t disappoint. Fortunately I haven’t run into any glitches with the new iOS update.

Only draw back did not last long enough, but with these graphics and effects it's totally understandable! Serious those who love figuring out codes and tricks, finding little hidden boxes and how to access them this is a must!! Only avail on certain devices, I had my head phones in playing it at night, now I don't scare easy but some of the sounds gave me the chills! LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WORK!!

The Room has done for mobile games what Myst did for the PC - it has set the benchmark for excellence. And the developers are still supporting it: the recent glitches with the latest iOS have now been fixed, which is wonderful to see. This is a masterpiece that any fan of the puzzle genre should experience, and quality like this is worth every cent of the price. Even after several years, The Room and its sequels are among the finest games on the App Store.

Soft lock when viewing photo with eyepiece. Hello. I don’t know if this is even monitored anymore but I’m replaying the room at the moment and during the second chapter where you have to look at the photograph through the eyepiece, the game just goes completely black and stops working, becoming completely unresponsive. I hope this can be fixed because I was embarking on a full replay of the series.

The Room. Love these sorts of puzzles. The only complaint I have is that they are very dark , making it difficult to see everything clearly. A few shades brighter would be good.

I can't wait to finish it and move on to The Room two and three! The graphics and the Sounds are awesome! Best used with earphones. The puzzle itself is hard but not complicated and exciting when you put the pieces together and "something happens". I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and intriguing game.

Fantastic. Needed something to while away a long plane flight, this was brilliant, didn't even notice the time pass. The puzzles aren't tooo completed but not incredibly easy either, just the perfect head scratching in between. I've decided to buy the second one once I find a good wifi connection.

Still a favourite. This series never gets old. I play them all in sequence, put them to one side for 6 months or so, and play them again. Love ❤️ Understand the move toward VR, but sad that these games are unlikely to continue for portable devices. Sort of tempts me to build a VR box though .... :)

The room. Oh wow I love this game, woah, really made me think outside the box, ( no pun intended), there are hints, which. Do help, but more in the giving of advice than "do this". I was amazed at the amount of time that passed while I was playing. With a group of friends it got a bit hectic, with someone yelling "push that" or " what is that?". All in all a great brain teaser, fun game,that makes you think..100% for enjoyment!!!

One of the best mobile games and a great pc game…. Dark compelling puzzle game, as the puzzles unfold so to does the story. But it’s not story telling in the usual way it is more subtle which makes this game really intriguing.

Bug in chapter 3!. What a fantastic game - have been enjoying this with my kids and we just love it. But we have come across a show-stopping bug in chapter 3 when you look at the photo of the house through the eyepiece with the glasses on - the screen goes black and doesn’t play the video (had to look up in google what is meant to happen), so we can’t get the next clue. Pls investigate and fix if possible!

Love it!. I agree with ALL the good thing said about this game. I do have one “but” though .... The images are too dark. I (seriously) “miss” things / clues because I cannot see it. If I turn the iPad’s brightness right up to max, it is much better, but the device gets warm ... really warm, and I have to stop playing. 🤓🙁

Amazing but.... This game is the best room escape game I’ve played (as well as the other TheRoom games), but as soon as I tap on the eye piece to look through it, the whole screen goes black and then nothing... it won’t let me pinch to zoom out, tapping the screen does nothing, the Oculus icon disappears, etc. I’ve tried restarting the game, restarting my iPad, checking for any updates with the game and my iPad and nothing.. Nothing works and there are no updates :( Please help me fix this if possible

The best puzzle game on a touch screen. Just as Myst created a genre on the PC, The Room is a masterpiece of puzzle gaming. The atmosphere is incredible as the game steadily increases the difficulty as the game progresses. A glimpse into the lore is all the story that is needed because the game remains focused on the puzzles, and you experience satisfying frustration trying to figure out how to unlock just one more door.

Amazing game broken in ios 14. I have all the games in the series and like to go back and replay each one when the mood strikes me. Today I was shocked to see that on the chapter after the the tutorial level, where you look through the telescope after winding the key it just comes up as a black screen. There seems no way to get past this. I just updated to ios 14.1 today...it worked fine in ios 13. I tried reinstalling it but to no avail. Such a shame! I hope you guys will look into fixing this but I guess since it was last updated 5 years ago then it won't be looked at 😢.

It’s pretty good. You get 4 “rooms” that you need to solve. As an avid puzzle solver, this one was pretty good. The graphics are always great with the room puzzles, but, I did expect a bit more. Nothing exciting happens when you solve, your just done. I would suggest this game to a novice player. I must say the developers are very talented. I would like to see a full version something like the awakening that you can play for more than a few days. This game took me a little over 2 hours to complete. All said and done, great job guys keep it up.

Excellent puzzle. This is an older, but excellent puzzle. However, there were a couple of bugs, where the screen went black instead of displaying clues. I had to google to figure out the clues.

Orbs. This is a great game..Puzzle type..There is a bug though..I get to the orbs and they don’t spin. They should begin to move once taking off the lid..They remain dormant. Great puzzle game!. We had a lot of fun solving this one. It was just hard enough but not too much for a 8 & 10 year old. Great to see them working together on it. The only reason our rating isn’t 5 stars is because the pause button is too sensitive and kept popping up during the game.

The room. This game is a great disappointment it jammed up early on. Started the game again, got further but then it jammed again, went back to the beginning, jammed again, switched I pad off started again still jammed. I repeated this over and over for about a week. I have now given up. Very disappointing. Glad it didn't cost much!

No Video. The videos do not work. They go black screen and freeze the game. Everything else is amazing but now I have to cheat and look things up because of a bug. I will change my rating to 5 stars if they fix this but I have no hope on a 9 year old game.

Great fun!. Played this on an iPad pro over the course of a few nights. No glitches. Although there are a few cases where brute force solutions may seem needed, there is a smart way to solve every puzzle. Degree of difficulty was perfect. Requires thought, but not so cerebral that you can't figure everything out eventually. If you like puzzles, this is a great game and well worth the 99 cents.

Fantastic!. This game is awesome. It really makes you think. At times I was stuck for several minutes, but it's the best feeling when you finally figure the next step out. Apparently if you're religious an a close-minded idiot, you won't enjoy this game. But for 99.9% of you this is highly recommended. If you can handle the sight of a freakin tarot card, then you'll be fine.

Glitch. I have been playing the room a lot and used to not have as many problems as I do now. Now when I try to complete certain tasks with the eye piece, the screen goes blank making it extremely difficult to progress. I have tried to restart my devices and making sure there is internet connection repeatedly and I am still having issues.

Superb. Arrived at The Room (part one) after playing part three.... A bit backwards on my part, but not disappointed at all. The Room is a fine debut. Now, onto part two! Fingers crossed that "The Room, Four" appears somewhere through a portal not far ahead.... Regardless, this series is incredibly brilliant and exquisitely crafted, evoking a wealth of MYSTery and hours of absorbing fascination.

I want more!. This is a very well-done, engrossing game. The puzzles are creative and make clever use of the iPad interface (touch screen, gyroscope, etc.). I loved it! My only complaint is the length of the game. I know 99 cents barely counts as a price, but from something that I did I fact pay for, I expected more than 5 levels. Instead my only option is to pay again for the sequels. I can’t help but feel a little ripped off…

Intriguing!. For my taste, an ideal pace and level of difficulty. LATER: Under iPadOS 13.4, when you look through the eyepiece to examine the photograph, things work unless you’re wearing the eyepiece. If you are, the screen goes black and the game freezes until you press the iPad button to leave the game. If you then re-enter the game, the screen is still black, but tapping the screen finally backs you off and lets you continue.

I’m addicted.. OMG! This is beyond words the most fun, intriguing, captivating, and at times difficult puzzle game I’ve ever played! I’ve gone through all four Room games once already and now I’m going through a second time. It’s been a while since I first played, so it’s just as difficult and exciting as the first time. The room. Very interesting, I love the way it incorporates that little bit of suspense, it makes the game so much more enjoyable. I love the feeling when you finally find that one peace that can open, unlock, or answer something that you’ve been trying to figure out for the longest amount of time. Great Game Worth The Price, but.... This game is so fun and addicting! Also, sometimes it got hard. Just a tip, you also have to tilt the screen when you play in some puzzles. I was sitting for at least a good 1/2 hour trying to figure out how to solve this... But overall, great game! Not really recommended for small children. Has scary soundtrack and Creepy Images also... I think it has some Demonic stuff in there...

This is a great game that makes you think. I like the fact that you really need to consider many possibilities to get the result you want. I ended up playing for many hours the first time I opened the game. This game is well worth the price asked. It is worth much more. I look forward to seeing future episodes of "The Room ".

Shining Example of a Mobile Game Done Correctly.. Intuitive touch controls, immersive story, amazing graphics, NO IN-APP PURCHASES! I only wish I had heard about it sooner. I see ads for garbage, pay-to-win games on tv all the time, simply because the money they siphon lets them place commercials, while good traditional games like this are only discovered via recommendations. I'll gladly buy the two sequels.

Having problems on iPad Pro 2020. | I was really loving everything about it right up until I got to the 2nd room and could not view the slides so I couldn't get the clue to word so I could move to the next clue I wanted to buy all the games but- if this one doesn't work I'm worried the others won't either, maybe the developers can fix with a update I would love it if they would I would rate 5 stars it so because I can tell a lot of love and hard work went into this,

All others should aspire to be this good. The Room series is the best point and click puzzle adventure available for iOS. The story line keeps you coming back for more. The controls and the puzzles are very intuitive. The hints are hints and not answers. The graphics are dark yet wonderfully configured. The music helps set the overall mood. A very enthrawling series. All other puzzle adventure games should aspire to be this good.

Great game that is unique!. I have just finished this game again. Unfortunately there are a few glitches with the current ios upgrades. I worked around them but it will not let me play the epilogue at all, just a black screen. I wrote to the developer and had an answer in less than a day! So if you are stuck with a black screen/crash, write to them! It is still WELL worth playing this game!

Since Myst…. I find any games other than these puzzles-wrapped-in-an-enigma-surrounded-by-a-mystery efforts boring and repetitious. Do try to get through the game without heeding clues. Most of them just leave you feeling like “oh, I could’ve figured that out myself given time…” So, take the time. You’ll feel a much greater sense of accomplishment if you do.

This isn’t just a puzzle game it’s an adventure into your own ability to do problem solving. It took me many hours to complete the game. I’m glad the developer made more of these. I’m going to purchase and play them all now. Reminded me of myst for some reason.

So far, so good. I’m on about the third chapter. I decided to spend the $1.99 and check it out and I’m so glad I did. This is probably the truest puzzle game I’ve ever played. The hints are just right. Nothing like the puzzle/escape room type of games that you finish in one hour and they want you to pay to keep playing. Well worth the $2 to check it out. I will be downloading the next one when I’m finished!!

My favorite iPad game yet. The Room is hands down the best iPad game I've played. The difficulty is just right - most puzzles can be solved with a little critical thinking and poking around, and there's a handy hint button for the really difficult puzzles. Backed by astounding graphics, haunting music, and an intriguing storyline, the only thing I wish is that it was longer! Looking forward to playing 2 and 3!

Amazingly Entertaining!!!. This is absolutely one of the best games I’ve played on my iPad . It’s so entertaining and mysterious as well, my first attempt took easily 2 hrs to get me complete the first chapter. Whoever made this game must have a wild and interesting mind and imagination. I can’t wait to try and see the newer versions of this game. Nice work and Thank you all the developers who made this happen 👍🏻

Great for friends and couples. The Room is just as elegant and intriguing as when it was first released. It's also a great game to play with someone else -- there are plenty of puzzles that benefit from two heads, and lots of opportunities to cooperate or trade off exploring. Also, while it mostly avoids the dreaded pixel hunting, the game often does benefit from having someone observe the background details while you move around.

This is still one of my favorite games, but what happened to my sound!. I have played this series of games since they first came out. Regrettably, I just discovered that NONE of them will play sound on my 3rd Generation iPad. Also, I can no longer find a copy of the first game on the App store to download to my iPhone 14. Are these still supported? The soundtrack is essential to the experience. I will adjust my rating when I hear back, Fireproof Studios. Thank you.

Completely worth the $0.99!!!. This is currently my favorite game ever! It was definitely worth the money. This was an interesting idea for the game and the title "The Room" makes the game seem mysterious and makes you want to buy the game! Beautiful graphics, intuitive controls, but fragmented. The art is fantastic, the puzzle boxes are intriguing and surprising. But the glue holding the experience together, the story, is a minor part of the game, and overall the game feels like a fragment of something bigger. At the end of the game you don't have a much better idea of what is going on than you did at the start, and in this way (and in a few others) it plays almost like an advertisement for its sequel.

Read please developers. My younger brother who is 4 years of age solved this with easy whilst talking In southern accent while also simultaneously teaching our dog how to triple backflip, you see my brother isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and I had hoped that this game would sharpen his mind but all it did was boost his ego. Great game just if u made it a bit more challenging that would be awesome :)

Amazing way to one able to think out side of the box. I download this app quite a while ago... but never got around to it until now. I am using it as “training” for the escape room team builder my team is going on soon. I really love this because it keeps my, mind in different a different direction and may not be forward but will be productive.

I have been able to resume playing, and I am DELIGHTED! ————————————————————————————————- Like everyone else, I am stuck in the 2nd chapter when the whole screen goes blank as I’m trying to unlock the clue while looking in the eyepiece. I replay all The Room games regularly from the first to the last, and it’s heartbreaking not to be able to continue to do so!

Reminiscent of games like Myst... Enjoyable. I very much enjoy this style of puzzler, and was quite pleased at the intricacy that The Room provides. I'd say my only criticism is that for a paid app, cheap as it was, I solved it far too quickly. I would have liked to see a few more chapters, or a few more puzzles to solve in the chapters available. I intend to download Room 2, and hope it takes me more than 3 hours to solve at 3 times the cost.

So worth it.. I'm always skeptical when I'm asked to pay for apps. Even if it has high ratings. This game is worth every cent even to the point where I bought the second one no questions asked. The puzzles were simple enough that I only needed hints a few times. But tough enough that it made me think about it for awhile.

Super Easy. For the price I was expecting more levels and more challenging. I passed the entire game in less than a 24 hour time period. HOWEVER it was fun and I did have to think. But it was too easy for me. My mom told me about it and was playing for 2 weeks so I was expecting a challenge. If it was cheaper I would buy the other ones.

Excellent game. I only finished the first chapter and the game is amazing. If you ever enjoyed Myst you should try this. (And you can get Myst on iPad too so if you enjoy this go and get Myst too). It is a thriller and the music is appropriate. There is this reviewer who mentions that the game initiates you into demonic stuff - please ignore such nonsense. This is only in good fun. None of this is real. None of this exists. Ignore the fundamentalists and enjoy this game!

Second time playing and it's just as good as the first time. This is one of the best puzzle/mystery games I've ever played. I love the sequencing of hints that give you a nudge in the right direction without spoiling the fun of searching for the next clue. Along with that, I love how I never need to look online if I get stuck and I dont have to pay any in-game purchases! Get this game!!

Love but I think it’s broken :(. I believe it’s on chapter 3... When I try to use the goggle to look at an image, the screen just goes black, and I’m pretty sure I need to see this to proceed. also, I’ve completed the game years ago when it came out, I had purchased at least a couple of the games as they were being released and yet I’m being charged again, I’m not sure who to go to with this issue...

Brain Candy!. This is a really addictive thinking game! Forget running away from zombies or a clock counting down a time limit, this is a relaxing game where you can slow down and think out puzzles. Never too hard either as there are helpful clues that pop up if you need help. Awesome game, will buy the next one when I complete this one.

Very Good Game. Gameplay is engaging, and the puzzle-solving requires some skull sweat. Unfortunately, the “hints” provided are often not in sync with where you are in the game. And the hints often stop short of being useful, requiring some extra research on your part. Still, this is very worthy of space on your device. Play at your own speed and you’ll enjoy yourself!

Why this game is AWSOME. Fire proof games novel seem to disappoint. 1. It has such great suspension. You never know what's going to happen next. 2. It is not like one of those two year old games that take like one minute. It is such a great puzzle game! 3. The cliff hanger is not like any cliffhanger. It has suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat. 4. I love the concept of you using the eyepiece to solve the puzzles. 5. It Is so fun and it was a blast playing it. I really recommend this game and it deserves the 5 star rating. And for you people who think the simbolism is bad. You shouldn't have bought this game for your flipping 2 and 5 year olds because the brilliantly developed game is for 11+ and 3 year olds don't understand the beauty and complexity of the story plot and graphics.

Love this game!!!. Being a person of high intelligence and even higher class, this game has risen to my level which could entertain me in such a way that all of the things to take back burner: my job, food, even visits to the bathroom. If you value your friends, family, and any other activities besides breathing, you will not download this game. But if you're looking for an adventure, go for it...and may the odds be ever in your favor.

This is truly an amazing game and I think everyone should know about it and I know many people don't buy paid apps ( I don't either I happened to have an iTunes gift card) but this is a pretty fun game challenging amazing graphics and entertaining but I do wish their were more levels considering I finished it in a day ( but totally worth it!!!) and go check out potery that's a good game too 👏🏼

WOW!!!!!!!. I don't hardly review games but I just had to let ppl know how awesomely spellbinding this game is. I play escape games all the time but this takes the cake. It's gonna be hard to go back to regular mediocre escape games after this. I have the next 2 yet to download so I hope they keep me busy until they come out with "room 4". The graphics are freaking amazing along with the puzzles. Storyline is a little "out there" but still fun.

Love your 3D escape room series!. Challenging, fun and at times frustrating. The Room series of escape games have kept me coming back for more (got all the games to date). The artistry of the designs are very enjoyable as is the storyline. The puzzles are a great deal of fun to figure out and get past. I also enjoyed not having ads interrupt my game and having assistance when I needed it. Kudos!

Too short. I'm glad I only paid 99¢ for this. I finished it almost in one sitting. I guess it is cheaper than going to a movie, but I was disappointed in the length. Great graphics. Challenging puzzles. I enjoyed it. Having to tilt the whole iPad as unexpected and gimmicky. It broke the third wall. The iPad isn't the device! It's what I'm using to view the device! I wish there was a way to turn off the hints. It was too tempting to look if I got stuck for a bit. Most of the time they told me something like "x looks important" and I was already trying to figure out what to do with x. Other times they have too much info, almost saying "the answer is on the other side of the table" whereas "maybe the answer has appeared someplace" would have been enough.

Room One Five Stars. Having played Room One and Room Two, I have to say that Room One is the best of the two. It is visually stunning, the puzzles are contained in single box instead of all around a room as in Room Two and the quality of each puzzle is a delight to play. This has to be the all time best puzzle game. ( Hint: Turn off hints in setting. It takes longer to solve but you won’t be tempted to speed through).

Best 0.99 I ever spent!. This game is easily worth more than what I paid for it. Beautiful, atmospheric, clever. This is a little masterpiece. The puzzles are challenging but don't require a special education, just patience, determination, and cleverness. There is an ongoing story to accompany the puzzles, though it is nicely minimalistic. Some reviews caution that this is not religiously neutral and maybe a gateway to the occult. That is not a serious concern unless you're some superstitious fundamentalist. Normal people will be thrilled.

Worth buying an iPad for!. I played these all of these games several years ago, and now have re-purchased #1 again and have just finished the first chapter. It’s been long enough that i can’t remember any of the solutions and am re-surprised by all of the surprises! Still an amazing production even though it is 10 years old.

Excellent. The best puzzle game yet. This is a genuine brain game. More of these would be very welcome. I would buy them all. No longer works! The telescope in chapter 2 is blank when you double click on it - no movie. Can this be fixed? I have an iPad Pro with iOS 14 Last update fixed this problem. All is well again!

Outstanding, excellent, amazing!. Wow! I have never been so enthralled with a game. My suggestion is to download this game and all the sequels cause you will be smitten. My kudos to game developer for their cleverness and ingenuity. The graphics are beautiful. Hints available in a great format if you get stuck but you will want to figure it out yourself. I want to play it again which almost never happens for me. Congratulations player! You're downloading a winner!

573?. The game comes to a dead end at “573” on the prisms. What if I looked at the prisms with the eyepiece? Well, I did that and rotated the prisms until it revealed the number 573. And then what? Nothing. Same question on the ? mark. I double tapped all the other items on the table for a closeup so that I could interact with them, but I got no activity from any of them in order to get a clue about what to do with 573. Dead end. I loved the game until that point, but I’m not going to spend more money on the sequels just to find more dead ends.

The Room. This game was recommended to me and so I got it to entertain myself for a cross country flight. It is definitely addicting and the five hour flight zipped by! I love the graphics, the challenge, the story, and that there are more! I just finished Room 2 and am saving Room 3 for the long flight back home. I figured out most of the objectives but definitely had to use clues a couple of times!

Revisiting The Room. After many years, no other game by any other company has ever come close to the brilliance of what Fireproof achieved so long ago. It is time to do this all over again from very little memory of the specific game play. I am looking forward to it again, looking at it from a new player’s eyes!

Loved it! Bought the next. :). Super fun and intuitive game, well worth purchasing! Definitely addictive play. I found the subject matter a little creepy, doubtless as intended; but I was not offended by it. My one complaint is that even with the brightness turned up, some areas were so dim and low contrast that I couldn't see the thing I was supposed tap on. However, the hint system worked well so those problems were never insurmountable.
