There is no “crime” section. The desktop/mobile website hardly ever works, so I figured if I paid for this app I wouldn’t have as many issues. I was incorrect, and furthermore, there isn’t even a section for crime on the app, but there is on the website. This is the only thing I care to utilize this app for. If they fix it I will reinstate my subscription, but it’s not worth the time it took to download, let alone the monthly fee.

Fake and Biased. Spotty coverage of local breaking news stories and local events. Misinformed staff is reporting without confirming facts and supported by completely biased editors. Gave them a try for almost 2 years after moving to the area. Not an accurate representation of panhandle life

Another biased Gannett newspaper. Don’t bother reading it because everyday they parrot whatever the Gannett talking point of the day is which is always anti Gov Ron DeSantis. They also don’t want to hear from local subscribers because they don’t allow readers to comment.

Where is customer service icon. Looking for the icon on this app to contact customer service: hold paper, report missing paper, etc. What am I missing?

Links from some pages consistently fail to launch or show “loading errors”. When sending feedback on this problem the feedback fails to send and says url not found.

Access to local news. I just learned my subscription allows me to read local news in areas around the US where my grown children live and I visit! My son was interviewed by a Sun reporter in Washington state during my visit, so fun to read the article and remember the Viking Festival in Poulsbo WA! Incredible smart journalists as well.

Not at all like the paper. As an avid paper reader this app is so disappointing. I can't get the same articles as the paper version and there are more old articles than current news. Not very helpful if you are a current subscriber.

A little piece of home. While I live in Texas, I long to move back home. Until that time PNJ helps me stay in touch. Thank you

Crimes. Need to see what areas have the most crimes and update it every two days

Not worth it. While the app is good about giving up-to-date news alerts, they give you a limit of 30 articles a month to look at, unless you want to pay to see the articles. Even after the month, when you’re supposed to have free articles, they still won’t allow you to see the articles, stating “you’ve reached your free article limit for this month” and to subscribe to see the article. I am not pleased.

Pensacola News Journal. Very easy to use. Very informative and timely.

Great news app. I use the PNJ app to stay up to date on everything happening in Pensacola along with Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

New Year Celebrations.. The galleries of New Year celebrations show few black folks or Latinos celebrating . You need to expand your coverage.

Still needed. Kudos to the Pensacola News Journal for continuing to publish a real newspaper. Although the content is reduced from its former days in column inches, the News Journal continues to provide valuable local news such as some investigative reporting and items about Restaurant health inspections and other local matters that would be hard to obtain elsewhere.

Slow to load individual stories. I have paid subscription yet the app loads stories so slowly i give up and go to wear tv. Seems to be the ads that are slowing it down. It used to be faster. I am going to cancel if it doesnt get better

Great journalism. Love supporting such a vital service to our community. Democracy dies in darkness and local journalism brings real light.

No comics nor puzzles. Will you ever include puzzles and the comics section to the PNJ app?

Pensacola News. Living in Santa Rosa County which does not have any options for TV/RADIO information we do have a free weekly small town newspaper you are able to pick around town. It’s great to have Pensacola News which has “Breaking News” “This Just In” “Happening Now” “Following Up” news we would not much information about our county especially with most TV stations are located and geared mostly on news in/around Mobile, Alabama.

No ability to search articles. The PNJ website allows anyone to search their website for past articles. This app does not appear to have a search function, even for subscribed readers. Don’t waste your time with this app, stick with the PNJ website.

App won't open!. This app just doesn't work. It quit opening completely after a few days use- just when we really need access to news after hurricane Sally. Tried reloading, still won't open!

Please fix for iOS 14!. This app no longer works since I upgraded my devices to iOS 14. I’m a subscriber to the PNJ, so I’m paying for it. Please update!!!!!! We’re post hurricane and need news!

Good local news reporting. I love getting the paper online daily. It covers the stories where I live—Perdido Key—too. The Wednesday paper is my favorite as it has the best puzzles and the Publix and Winn Dixie sale papers. But I do not like that this paper is bias against Republicans!

New App. Do not like! Not user friendly especially for older adults! Hard to read since the print’s so small & when reading the funnies you cant rotate each funny to make it larger. There’s no place to tap to print articles, puzzles, & detest the advertisement boxes that pop up (the PNJ isn’t free & I abhor the ad popups!) I suspect your current subscribers will finally bite the bullet & leave your paper! While I’m at it, there are always misspelled words & often poor grammar. Don’t have spell-check? And finally, your Andy Marlette cartoon is, as usual, not funny, politically biased & full of untruths, as is the rest of the news in PNJ.

Constant crashes. While I like the layout, the app constantly crashes. On average it will crash 2-3 times during the course of reading one paper.

Great app. I Love the PNJ APP. I have had it for at least five years. I work offshore and it is easy to keep up with the local news. Recently I cannot open up the photo galleries or the videos. When I try the app shuts down. I called support and they connot find my account. I pay $7.99 a month thru iTunes. I do not know what the account number is and they cannot find it thru an email address or home address. I love the app , but support not so much.

Horrible account management. Horrible account management. I forgot my password and it took three attempts to reset it. In addition, it allowed me to pay for two digital accounts—same email, etc. That is simply wrong.

What’s News. Best way to stay in the know about what is going on all around us!

Unreliable. Every day starts with a challenge when I try to navigate this app. I miss the print edition, but because it was printed in another city, I could never count on the time of delivery. Now I get messages like,” for subscribers only.” or, a page will freeze. Sometimes I will only get USA Today without any local news. There is not much that is intuitive about it. Reading the” paper.” has become laborious.

Local News is A Necessity. Look. Where are you going to get your news about what's going on in Pensacola? WEAR-TV? No. If you want to hear stories about Angels watch TV. If you want ton know what's being done in your hometown, you have to have this appp

Much needed local coverage. Pensacola is served by better local journalism than most America communities. Every municipality deserves this.

Good App. I like to stay up to date on the news at one of my top vacation spots. This app lets me do it.

Awful ad ridden app. We pay for a subscription, we show to be signed in and yet every time we use this app we have popup full page interruptions prompting us to subscribe. Not to mention ever third or fourth headline is not a news story but a paid advertisement disguised as news.

Can’t expand images. Disappointing that the app doesn’t allow for pinch expansion of the embedded images. Come on, it’s 2019.

Never start your day without the PNJ. I have been a reader of PNJ since I was an elementary student. I love reading and keeping up with the news and what is going on locally. I loved Andy and was sorry to see him go except for Shrimp and Grits. I would like to see Frank Cerabino featured more often.

Keep stealing money. Don’t fall for the 99 cents! They charge full price.

Pages keep going blank. Since the latest update, when the page loads, all the columns are present, but almost immediately they disappear, leaving only the photographs and a blank page. If you go back a page, then forward, it will reload and may or may not be readable. After a few minutes, the app crashes and you have to start over again. No place in app to contact developers or PNJ regarding issues.

PNJ. Very difficult to sign in. If you already have a subscription (since 1986) they want you to resubscribe

No Photos. Cannot view photo gallery or cartoons. Used to be able to.

Libtard rag. Libtard rag I guess when you don’t have any competition you don’t have to put out much effort

Good news. Fulfilling newspaper role of community involvement. Brings timely local news on digital format. Helping raise community civic IQ through Civicon and follow up stories.

Keeping up to date.. Appreciate the news alerts and stories as I just moved away but after almost 30 years - you don't just walk away.

App critique. Leaves out major stories in print edition. Inadequate differentiation between news and Editors seem to think restaurants openings are big news. Inability to submit letters to the editor. Poor coverage of local government. Lack of commitment to investigative journalism. No way to contact editorial management.

Balance please. Need opposing viewpoints reported for your constant left leaning editorials and news

PNJ - Great Way for Regular Visitors to Stay in Touch. We are regular users of state parks and campgrounds in the area and it's an easy way to stay in touch year 'round. It's a special area with a special newspaper.

Some room to improve but nice apps!. I love the content of your app. It provides much needed current local news and events that go on in Pensacola. However, most of your videos do not seem to be functional half the time, and I have the latest software update on my new iPhone. Also a lot of times the pictures that are next to the news headlines do not even show. And a lot of pictures you have posted for certain news do not show the whole pictures when you view them from your mobile app, they seem to cut off certain parts of pictures such as people's faces. Making the majority of your content for paid subscriptions only can steer a lot of people away, but I can see your point of why that is needed. Also, news should somewhat relay their message in the middle ground and be unbiased rather than coming out saying that the entire company is "for" or "against" certain situations. Thank you for making the "Top Stories" available for everyone!

Terrible. Worst app ever!

Useless unless you pay, just use the web version. This app is useless unless you pay them a fee. If you want to see the Pensacola content, then just go to their website at PNJ.com and use an ad blocker And see it all for free.

For Paid Subscribers Only. You have to have a paid subscription to use this app. Lame. There are too many other sources for news...

Update Issues. I am a current subscriber to online app, and articles are not current. Some stay on for weeks and new articles are not updated as the paper version is. News is not timely. Sometimes even when there are new articles they will not update. Seems as though weekends are the worst, online staff must not be available.

Good!. Good newspaper!

Keeps me up to date. My daughter is an ECSO deputy and I live in SW Florida ! Not only can I get updates on such a beautiful area I can also keep up with her as well and what's happening !!!

Online media. Getting used to online media. Everyone is right it's not like a newspaper. Technology has it's pros and cons. Most of the time the app works well and is up to date. Another positive point is it saves trees.

PNJ. Does not work!!!

Weak implementation.. App is mostly non-responsive especially when updating weather. This is on a iPhone 4s. Loading pages takes more than several seconds and sometimes it just hangs or keeps displaying the old data, but telling you it's a new page. I do subscribe to PNJ and the the PNJSTORM text alerts. Now the only way to get the storm alerts is through push messages. There are better apps for this. And there is a reason people prefer txt message alerts for things like tornado warnings.

Great App. Easy to pick up breaking news reports without waiting until next day's paper delivery.

What's happening!. I can see what's happening across the city.

Subscribers only?. I'd rather have ads than pay for a subscription. Old business models lose customers. I'll get my news everywhere else.

Pensacola News Journal. So much more coverage locally and especially the local sports. It means so much to the families to read your articles. National coverage is better also. Love the book reports and business section. All in all the News Journal is a must read for me. Five stars!

Paywall. Your paywall will not permit one to read a story that concerns public safety. Your intention to make money at all costs is disgraceful.

PNJ. I don’t subscribe to the News Journal because it is the same as Fox News. I want news and not what the Republican Party wants me to know!!!

Informative. I do not currently live in P'Cola but, I am a native. I really like that the app is always updated with local & national news. Everything is a tap away from top news to local festivals. Great job and keep up the good work.

New version constant crash. If you love apps that load about 1/10 times without crashing then this is for you. What's that you say? You also like video ads that play with just a slight brush and ignore you when you try to click out? Then again, you are really gonna love this new app chocked full of USA Today filler.

Quick update of current stories. I like to check the online edition for updates on stories from the am paper or new stories that may have occurred during the day. Also like their bulletin feature.

Easy to use for Pensacola news. I haven't lived in Pensacola in many years but still consider it home. This is a great way to stay in touch with what's going on.
