Hurricane: American Red Cross Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Only for America?. Can’t have alerts for people I know in other countries?! Really?!

So so. Just spins and says loading Hurricane. Map is cluttered with shelter data making it hard to see track. Should be an overlay

Flashlight hard to find. I think all these Red Cross apps are a great idea, but what I like the most is the flashlight part. And quite frankly you need a flashlight 99% more times than you'll come across a natural disaster. Every time i need to use the "flashlight" in any of their apps, it takes me at least 10 minutes to figure out how to find it. It should be on the main screen. No, I don't need one more junky app on my phone so I really don't want to download just a flashlight app. Plus if you go to the Red Cross app every time you need a light you'll be more apt to remember you have it when someone is having a heart attack, bleeding etc. thanks.

Dojode. The Red Cross gets 91 cents out of every donation. So much for giving it to charity.

Bob H. I live in Florida and depend on these apps for warnings for tornadoes and hurricanes it’s really accurate

Locations deleted still alert. I am removing this app as a deleted location keeps sending me alerts.

News alerts. I had so many alerts I finally had to delete the app just to get rid of all of the alerts, after ten minutes of deleting I saw no end in sight

Creepy and Intrusive. This app wants to track you at all times. It won’t work if you only want it to find your location while you use it. If you try to add a random location, the app demands to know who you “love” there - name and address. It’s Creepy.

Great app!! By a wonderful organization❤️. We are in northeast Florida and grew tired of listening to the dramatic news coverage of hurricane Irma, however we needed to stay updated. Enter the Red Cross Hurricane app! This app is AMAZING. Gives you up to date information in real time(faster than our local new stations) and provides alerts to your area. It has been extremely helpful for us to be able to track Hurricane Irma and other weather alerts. Added bonus : we actually learned a lot of useful information as well. We love the Red Cross, it's nice to see they have such a great app as well! The interface is great. The app is easy to navigate and is just what we needed!

Fix the app please. The then crashing recently Please fix it soon as possible

Disappointed. I would expect more from the American Red Cross. A app that does not work when you need it to show you what is on top of you. All it does is sit there and spin and spin I am deleting this app.

Awesome App. Awesome App

Not as accurate as it could be.. App is not always accurate. Currently it’s missing track of Nicole. Sometimes it takes up to 6 hours to update information. Data is available lots of places but app does not get updated. Very disappointed.

Great app. As a trained disaster responder, I am delighted to see so many useful features. This could truly save lives.

Informational Hurricane App. This app is very informational and helpful!

RedCross = Scam. Do not support The Red Cross! They are a business first, then a "charity" last! Please do little research before donating to these scammers! Not even half of what is raised goes to victims!

Contacts phone number choice MUST be fixed!. Red Cross/ 3 Sided Cube — I'm a beta tester for the Red Cross, and have been telling you this for YEARS: You MUST fix the ability to choose which number from within each Contacts listing is to be called when the "I'm Safe" button is clicked. As it is, the top number on the Contact list is the default — there is no way to select WHICH number for the app to text. Are users to go through their Contacts list and rearrange all the phone numbers to appease the app quirks? Certainly a landline auto-message asking for 25¢ to place a call is not very convenient when the ceiling has fallen in during a natural disaster. Also, what about an option to send an "I'm Safe" email vs. texting?Without these options, the apps are pretty much worthless and do not meet with your mission statement. Your agency was created to SUPPORT those affected by emergencies. These apps are falling short.

Good App. Have lived through many hurricanes and you won't believe how many people don't know the basics. This app gives the appropriate information needed. To other comments...it IS easy to use unless you are an idiot...it doesn't make you take a test..it's there if you want to challenge your knowledge unless you think you know everything! Boring? Like to see how you act if a hurricane is heading directly towards you like I have...probably the one I always have to rescue because you think you know it all. Keep in mind this app is intended for the basic knowledge that is helpful for ANYONE!

Not showing correct locations. It has been fine until recently. It’s not updating the current locations of any storms, like it was waaaay off, not even just a little.. Now I’m worried since this has been my most accurate app up until now. The app is up to date, but the tracker is not.

Spammed me with notifications.... Don’t get this. If you do, turn notifications off. They sent me 27 in a min.

WARNING! Possibly deadly!. Downloaded this app to help with tracking Irma and getting more information. But I've found that apparently there's no way to track the actual hurricane. When you tap the tracking section, it brings you to a list of shelters. Not hurricane tracking. And worst of all, we had a Tornado warning for a half hour, Brevard County. All my other weather apps and the TV notified me. This one didn't, but I didn't think anything of it because it's a new app and I didn't know if it would, but wouldn't you know. The tornado warning ends at 9:30am, then at 9:36am I hear a classic tornado siren coming from my iPad and my light is flashing. The warning came five minutes after the half hour warning ended..... If this was my only app and the tornado was bearing down on me I would likely be screwed.

This app + ARC Tornado: Worth Having. Although my county also has a weather event text message alert system that makes the ARC apps a little redundant, I like having these apps. Their biggest downcheck is that they are dependent on having some kind of data access, either cell or wifi. Thus, if you have no data plan, and you're not presently camped out at home/Starbucks/Panera/etc, well then, you get to be surprised when the tornado blows you & Toto away to Kansas. On the other hand, the apps provide some level of training & prep guidance. Also the built-in on-demand sirens are good for waking the kids up.

Great resource!!!! Used during hurricane Irma!. This app is an excellent one-stop resource for somebody going through their first hurricane or if they haven't gone through one for several years and need a quick reference or starting place. It has information for before, during, after, and "Plan Ahead" of a hurricane. Spot on advice about knowing the diff. between watches and warnings, don't waste time taping windows, and even lists for suggested supplies. If used with Storm Radar and the Weather Channel's app you'll be a lot safer and more knowledgeable about hurricane preparedness and safety as well as getting important information at the literal tip of your finger. One thing I'd really like to see is addition of information for actually boarding up when preparing. - The most informative resource I found for boarding up once the news suggested we should was found after a long time searching online, no thanks to bad information out there. A lot of time which is essential before a hurricane was wasted searching and searching. What I did fine was poorly linked to on NOAA's site and even then seemed to go down or be deleted when I went back to reference it. Please add information on boarding as part of your information. Please?? Nothing super detailed. Just the suggested plywood thickness, what kind of sheet metals would do well as a substitute, how to attach it to your home, what kind of screws for what kind of surface, etc. Actually in general please elaborate or expand on information that may not be expected to be a given to people who have already been through hurricanes. I remember my first time being in the crosshairs of a hurricane and finding detailed and explained information was hard there's so much out there and a lot of it bad. Everybody has short/simplified lists, but no details! Sometimes more than one sentence is needed to explain things. Other than being able to hide shelters locations on the map temporarily to better see the radar or map and adding more explanations or even videos to show a how-to (would be handy for boarding) I used this app as one of my hurricane go-to apps!! This for information and some alerts. I also used Storm Radar for the radar, alerts, detailed official warnings, and map that could show all kinds of warnings, alerts, and various details on the radar map. The official Weather Channel app for live tv feeds for in-person updates and meteorologist's opinions on what to expect. Between this app, Storm Radar, and the live feed from the official Weather Channel app hurricane Irma didn't catch my unprepared and didn't give me any nasty surprises! I was certainly safer and I truly appreciate apps like this exist!! THANK YOU from a Floridian who used this app as part of their emergency kit!!

Hurricane Preparedness. I downloaded this app in preparation for hurricane Sandy and I am impressed! I didn't realize how much I didn't know about locating a shelter, best place to get shelter in your home, building an emergency kit or even how to handle contaminated water (you don't). One would think that after Katrina, we would have gotten educated on how to prepare. I see why so many people may have erred. Knowledge is power and could mean the difference between life and death or extended hours trapped or starving. I am stocks with water, non perishable foods and flashlights (you're not supposed to use candles). Thank you to the developers of this app!!!

Puzzled. This is pretty much a useless app to track a hurricane. Need to be able to filter shelter information (I.e., remove, filter by location, etc.).

Most recent update failed........ The most recent update failed to actually update the application. It was stuck in a constant loop of 'Installing'!! I started the update on the Wednesday before Christmas and get continually was in install mode. I insured it could install in either cellular mode or Wi-Fi mode, but the result was the same. Luckily my son-in-law had the same challenge with a different app six or seven months ago, so it took him about 15 minutes but he was finally able to delete the app completely. I wrote this review in hopes that the authors of the application will read it and understand there are problems that need to be addressed. And even though has been deleted, I really like to be out because I live in a hurricane prone area however I won't be reinstalling it for fear of being caught in a constant loop again.

Dint work with Irma??. I literally had Hurricane Irma on top of my island, I dint had electricity so i couldn't watch the news to see what's going, I try the app and it doesn't load whatsoever. I have now Hurricane Maria tomorrow, let's see if it works from tomorrow onward.

What's Wrong. App is not working right at all. Is there another app as this one is outdated

Abuses notifications for donations. I used this app for several years for tracking storms that affected family members. However, I am removing it because I e just had two interruptions to ask for donations.

Limited Information. Why don’t shown shelter in Florida.

Great app but some serious flaws. First it drains my battery because location services will not turn of. I have the location symbol on all day. With no power we need to conserve battery. Second in a disaster situation communication is everything, you should be able to talk to other people who are in your proximity. I live in west palm beach and I have lived through five hurricane including Katrina. My neighbors and people around you are key to survival in a real serious situation. When things go bad you rely on the kindness of stranger and any information you can get. So I would really want to see some local chat room or something of that nature. Lastly we need maps and conditions of the gulf coast and Atlantic. The more info on the storm the better. I really hope you include some of this you could save a lot of lives and keep even more informed.

Version 3.12.0 DOES NOT WORK. I just downloaded the app and it is a waste of time. I cannot add any locations for alerts. The maps are DOA - their map service quit and they don't have a new one. Hey guys, hurricane season is almost here. (It's May 15 now.) USELESS!

Really Great Potential """ BUT """. Really love this program "BUT" after down sizing it does not disable the location services. You can see the little arrow next to the battery level in the upper right cornor of the iphone. Even after closing the program the arrow still stays on. This runs the battery down. What I had to do is go to my setting and in Location Services, I had to disable this program. I did a test with the new release: I have a 3GS and I know my battery is not brand new and may not work as good as the new 4S models. I charged my battery to 100% last night and started your program. I did not have anything else running durning this test. When I woke up in the morning my battery is usually down to 94% or 95% when I turn it on. This morning when I turned it on it was at 54%. Not very good for an old phone. I will not be able to use this program as if I had it on all day, my battery would be at about 0% by late afternoon. :( Please fix and I would really like to turn on location services again. Thanks for a super program

I really like it!. It’s amazing, it helps me know what storms are coming. Next, I suggest you could make a wildfire or blizzard app! That would be cool!

This app needs to stop crying wolf!. I have been receiving Flood Warnings for Omaha, Douglas County for weeks now. My sister lives there. I call her all alarmed and she tells me “nothing but blue skies”. No flooding here”. I’m getting ready to delete the app.

Been with Red Cross for many years. I have saved a life, was taught how to swim, I have taken CPR and First Aid courses I have donated blood, volunteered, and I have seen first hand the unprecedented amount of volunteers that have been there during fires, earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes not to mention the wealth of knowledge and skills they put out there to help people learn what to do in a crisis! I have used these apps through many situations including Hurricane Mathew and Irma and did not have any problems whatsoever!!!! As a matter of fact, AT&T and Apple kept us up and running throughout! Thank you to all at the Red Cross for doing the world this outstanding service for so many years and keep up the great work!

ew. scammers

9 notifications !!. All at once. That’s crazy.

FAILS August 21, 2019. IT STILL FAILS TO LOAD my ALERTS, entirely. It fails when you get to the third step of adding a person - in this case, anyone where I am in NYC.

Red Cross Hurricane app. Overall the app is nicely designed. 1) I would prefer when a location and a person overlap that you choose to give one priority over the other instead of displaying two or more entries. This could be done by providing a priority value that could be set in the global settings giving location priority over person or vice versa. (X) Locations have priority ( ) Persons have priority 2) although it is nice to set locations and people objects, it would also be nice to have an option to show all active warnings. This could be defined And controlled by using layers. A) The "Location" layer could contain just the locations you specifically want to track. B) The "Person" layer could contain just the people you specifically want to track. C) The "All" layer would display all current warnings or watches. This layer would not filtered by location or person. Rather, it would be controlled by another settings page where one could specify the desired watches warnings or informational bulletins to be displayed. 4) I I would suggest adding another tab that says "All". Once in the "All" layer, you could offer sub level tabs for bulletin type. Warnings, Watches, Advisories, ...

Much improved!. Excellence is what Red Cross aims for. With these new apps, they have achieved it, and then some. What I write here applies to the apps for Earthquake, Flood, Hurricane, Tornado, and Wildfire. I'm vulnerable to all five. Each of these apps provides information on what to do during the event, right after, then what to do for longer range recovery, and, now that you know it's important, how to plan ahead for the next one. You can set the app to alert you when one of these events occurs, near your current location and at other locations, where family or friends live. The shelter button will show a map of nearby shelters. If you need driving directions from your current location, press a button, and there they are. Each of these apps is also designed to teach. Each one provides a test covering information relevant to the topic. You can actually learn something! There are other valuable Red Cross apps, on first aid for people and for pets, swimming, donating blood, Red Cross volunteer connections, and shelters open across the entire U.S. with addresses and current status. For those so inclined, these apps are also available in Spanish. Just press a button. Except pet first aid ($1), all of these apps are free, a group of gifts supported by donations of the American people.

All Stars. Red Cross picks up the slack between where your neighbors don’t have the capacity and when the government steps in.

Chantel storm. I find it quite interesting that you would choose a high school to show. Is this really from the Red Cross?

General Satisfaction. I believe this app has been helpful in keeping us alerted to hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornados that may be affecting ourselves or our families. I was pleases to see the alert warning on "fires" for Thanksgiving Day! There are people who do not use equipment properly due to an array of reasons; literacy, drinking, or lack of general knowledge. I despite others am appreciative for these alerts even if its on "General Safety". If a deep fryer used with a propane tank explodes, just remember that is a non-liquid gas and can be highly explosive; which if the user is your neighbor could affect you! I rate this app 5 stars!

Terrible app. Too busy. Poor interface. NOT USER FRIENDLY.

Doesn’t work. I have two tropical storms (projected to arrive as hurricanes) heading my way and yet not a peep out of this app. Even opened it up and it just said, “all is well!”

Red Cross Hurricane App. I have used this app for the past Hurricanes, and I am very happy that I can let my family know I am safe; even if I don’t have any power !

Gen23. Does not allow you to report any problems with the app to the developer. Says you can increase/decrease monitoring radius on map. NOT TRUE! Beginning to think this is a scam app.

Free And Works. Used this app for several years works great for monitoring the hurricanes we get in Florida. Using it now for Dorian. Thanks to the developers for creating it and its free.

F THIS!. It keeps crashing every time I use it! What a ripoff!

Best warning app I've ever seen. I'd pay for an app this accurate and to warn me like this one does as well as I added an elderly family members area a state over to monitor and call her when the app alerts tornado. It has been great !

Great. I believe that this app can be helpful to people who believe that hurricane Sandy is not going to do anything and stay home trapped. People are saying that if you stay home nobody is going to go and help you. This app should at least help these people

Amazingly Helpful. My family is getting a beach house, and I figured this app would be helpful enough. But it was much more then expected. I got free information that could help save my family, my friends, and my life.

Nice but Map is so Small. This is nice but the map is so small. The map is less than half of the screen and it doesn't let you make it larger with your fingers. It would also be nice if though if you could turn the phone sideways and the map would be larger in that respect.

Red cross app. I downloaded this app after hearing about it from local tv staTion while preparing for hurricane Isaac This is the best, most educational information app I have on my phone. We live in new Iberia and have a boat just north of northwest of new Orleans and I can see what is going on in both places. Thank you red cross we truly appreciate this app.

Must have. It's multi functional use, ability to email others who may wish to know, and accuracy is superior to anything on the market

You want to survive? Get this!. This is one of the most informative survival information apps available. The price is right too. Tips, testing you knowledge, planning, it's all there. Including before, during and after information. Pets too, links to other sites for planning and surviving. It was the second notification that came up on my mobile device when a Storm Warning was issued. It's the only one with all my plans in one place. A great go-to app for personal disaster planing, survival and recover is needed.

Hurricane Awareness. Since I have been through each & every hurricane, that has hit South Texas since 1950, I assumed I had the answers for the test questions. Boy, was I WRONG!!! Living in Corpus Christi, TX, during Hurricane Season can be a challenge but with this application it will be a little easier.

Potentially good app. Have only been using this app for less than a week but it has been useful in tracking Hurricane Sandy and how it is affecting my relatives on the east coast. Needs more extensive coverage of non US shelters and needs to be more tied into Caribbean Disaster Management Agencies seeing as though the Red Cross has such a global reach and US citizens travel so much to the Caribbean, a hurricane hotbed.

OZ likes the App.. It's a great App. I am and have used this App during this current hurricane...Isaac. Anyway, great preparedness list, up to the minute warnings, gives you list of shelters and great follow-up of the storm. Overall, it's a very informative and helpful App. Living in South Florida, I will definitely keep and continue to use the App. PS., The App does accept one answer for Quest. 4. Get it right and you will see.

Font color horrible. The grey color and small size of the alert font is very difficult to read. Text should be black on white NOT grey. Too little contrast. Basic web development 101. Combined with the font size, reading alerts on an iPhone is near impossible. Information and everything else is great but of little use if you can't read it. Please fix this.

Wow!. This is an informative app that can be customized to your weather needs. It will keep you up to speed with only the alerts you need, wherever they are occurring, wherever you choose! It works as advertised!

Used to like this app, but.... When I first got this app, I really liked it. But every time they do an update on it, I like it less and less. They do alert me every time a storm status is updated, but it's just a quick and short notification on my screen. When I go to the app to get more details, I can only get the same blurb with the same very limited information. Yes, I like that I can use the Tracker tab to see where the storm is at that moment. But I want to hv more detailed info about the alerts and storm track position updates. I used to be able to get that with the app originally.

Hurricane App. This is one of the bests Apps out there it keeps you updated with alerts. When you get it take your time and search through all the features. I am telling all my friends!

Good info, but too many alerts!. I like the app. I like monitoring multiple area. I like the alerts. I do NOT like the quantity of alerts! My area is presently experiencing some coastal flooding and I get notices 4-5 times per day, every time the notice changes even a little. The problem is that I will start to tune out the application if this continues to be irrelevant to me. If I disable the notifications why even bother having the app? I suggest creating the ability to ignore future updates for a specific event. Not all floodings, but rather all floodings for this specific storm.

Best weather monitoring AP. This is the best weather monitor I got and I even paid for most. Some will work for you for awhile , then when you really need it like I do now to monitor the progress of Hurricane Isaac. This one cost me nothing . You can even buy a evacuation preparation kit from them.

Excellent, useful app for Hurricanes. Just downloaded this app and I am very impressed. Alerts, weather updates and locations of open shelters all in one place. There's also a neat trivia section where you can test your knowledge of hurricanes and see how many have hit your area over the years.

Useful - and how!. All sorts of useful info for hurricane prep, etc. Too many features to list presented in an organized, straightforward, user friendly fashion. And, of course, portable, too. Haven't tried the alerts yet. But app is worthwhile just from an information perspective. Good job.

Helpful, handy, and easy to use!. This App contains a lot of information without paragraphs and paragraphs of info. It's also easy enough to understand for a child! I love that I can set my own location to be notified of any recent notifications. When sandy was coming, when it hit, and after it had passed, the app was a huge help with up to the minute information!!!

Adding a location. I like the tests and the preparedness info, but I can't track anything. I also can't "add a location ". I've deleted the app, then reinstalled and restarted my phone, but it's still not working. I tried using your app support button in the review section in the App Store, but it doesn't take me to any kind of app support. It takes me to the Red Cross website that has no options to get help with the app. Any help on these issues would be much appreciated

Hurricane Sandy. This app is so amazing not only does the toolkit turn allow the phone to be a flashlight, strobe light- it also gives us timely alerts/warnings on the stays. It also sets up a predetermined contact list to notify after the storm, as well as an option to contact with social media after the storm has past. It gives shelter info and weather radar too. Best of the best! So happy I heard about t prior to this megastorm...

Hurricane App is great!. I love the app in general, but my location alerts keep going away. I'm trying to keep up with Miami and Tampa, etc. so a little frustrating that I can't see the active alerts. Having said that, the app is fantastic, especially the sections on building your plan and telling everyone you're safe.

Great App. I like this app very much. It was very helpful in knowing what to prepare for prior to Hurricane Sandy and has kept me posted every time a coastal flood or high wind notification was changed. Highly recommend. Good to have if you manage multi dwelling family properties. Forward app to clients as well as staff members.

Very good app. This app is very well done and was very accurate during the last tropical storm that was in Florida, this program is also very helpful for the general public in educating the layman person on what to do during a hurricane and what to have on hand, I am a firefighter/paramedic for the last 20 years and found this app very well done and the educational side done extremely well and educational also.

Creates a strange background process.. It may be phoning home or tracking you. After quitting all apps and rebooting my iOS 6 device when I run my utility to see what's running on my device a mysterious hidden Red Cross background app starts automatically when nothing has been launched. Had to delete the app before the background process went away. To save battery I don't want anything running in the background. No other apps I've downloaded exhibit this behavior.

Red Cross app. This is a great app to help families prepare and stay alert to storms in their area. The new update is fantastic. Take the quiz with your family. I used the previous rev during Sandy on my mobile phone, which during the storm still functioned.

A must have for the Gulf states, but... Giving this app 5 stars because it is a must have. Information is necessary to protect yourself and family and to prepare for a hurricane. One small glitch is that on the map for shelters a pin was dropped in the Gulf of Guinea off the west coast of Africa. Not on land but in the gulf. The pin was for a church in Rushville, NE. Humm… Still 5 stars.

great info. This app is worth downloading just for the instructions on how to store your own water. If you can't get to the store (or they are sold out of bottled water), the "prepare" section tells you what you need to do if you have some advance warning.

Great App!. We tried unsuccessfully to find flashlights and batteries at numerous stores. Not only does this app have a flashlight, it also has strobe light and alarms. The information it provides is better than the news because it can be focused on your location specifically.I Love it!!!

Nice starting point. I spent 14 years living in the Gulf Coast region of the US and 3 years living on the West Coast. Like many others, I understand the importance of being prepared. It very nice to see this app pulling together much of the basic information we all need to know. I would really like to see a version for iPad. Many of us with poor eyes will find it easier to use our iPads or iPad Mini.

Stay informed!. This app is a great way to stay informed and be aware of what's going on. It is great to check on friends an family who live in coastal areas. It is also nice to have all that preparedness information at my fingertips. I can't wait to see the Tornado and Earthquake apps to go along with this one!

Helpful tool living in Caribbean. Really helpful for tracking hurricanes, their paths, and projections and also for identifying Red Cross shelters in case of emergency. I only don't like that they don't put the name of the storm on the tracker. It just says the status. Some features aren't really super useful on a regular basis, but the tracking feature is nice.

Fantastic Preparedness Tool. This app is a great start to learning about hurricane safety and recovery. There is a great testing function and reward system with fun badges you earn. The best part? The Toolkit icon in the upper left, provides the ability to use your camera flash as a strobe light, flashlight, and even an alarm to aid in rescue attempts. Amazing little app, can't wait for the rest of them!

Great!. This is a really great app! It provides alerts and warning as well as safety information. It has a lot of really great features like a flash light, strobe light, and alarm. It also lets you send a message to friends and family letting them know you are safe. The only problem I had was sometimes the stone light wouldn't turn off. When I would slide the switch it kept going. When I turned it back in it got dimmer but kept going. Closing the app stopped it, though. Overall great app!

The WORST! (Scam City). Our home flooded last August 2016 in Lafayette La and after all my family and friends donating to them, the only help We got was crappy bucket and a broken mop stick 4 weeks after we finished demo work and started rebuild. Thanks Red Cross!! We got more help from strangers, family and friends than this multi million dollar cover up charity organization ever could do for me and my family. Good luck watching your money go in someone else's pocket, and not someone who needs it either! 😡😡😡😡

Useful but buggy. The training information is excellent, recommendations are strong and it's pretty well laid out. But the tests don't score correct/wrong properly or consistently. But the alerts aren't much and too small to see easily. The graphics are too small to see properly and are much less useful than your basic weather app. It also crashes when you go into some sections of the app. It's a shame because I wanted I like this during Sandy.

Lots of Practical information. Lots of information for general use. I have been in a hurricane area for 35 years..the questions are informative and the information is very useful. Great app to have for information and education. Thanks for a great app!

Very helpful and awesome. If you live in a hurricane infested area this is the app for you!!! It will always keep you safe!!! You will never be warned last minute again!!!(although usually you aren't warned last minute but just in case) I really hope you get this app it is really fun and helpful if you get this app I know you won't regret it. This app is epic and fun for kids so they know what to do if they are alone and get a hurricane warning. I really hope you get this app! You will ❤️It!!!!😄😃😀😊😍

Red Cross Hurricane. Very practical information provided to understand what hurricanes are, what the Categories mean and exactly how to prepare & get through a hurricane. Every person/family should access this if they live in areas where a hurricane is expected.

Rate App. This is an excellent app. Thanks for it helps Improve communication and I am sure it frees up your call centers. It provides information on shelters when people can get through on the phone or do not know who to call. Thank you!

Great Idea. Excellent thing to have on hand for those in Hurricane prone areas. Oh, and @ Ronald Levin: it's a HURRICANE app, not just a general storm app. You downloaded the wrong app. Don't bash it because you screwed up. It does exactly what it says it does. Down rating something because you couldn't be bothered to learn what an app was meant for then acting all indignant when it doesn't work is simply idiotic.

NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!. They had a chance for this app to make a real difference in Hawaii this week, and it flopped. Practically nothing worked right. Even with 2 active hurricanes on us there were no weather maps for Hawaii, no shelters listed, and it could track only ONE storm at a time (the one that was not currently a threat). The minute that the hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm its track disappeared completely, even though it was upon us at the time. The menus are confusing and most eventually lead to a request for donations. The emergency kit list looked promising but it crashed each time you tried to use it on the iPad, so was useless. The only thing it seemed to do right was pass through the national weather service storm alerts as text, which you can get any number of other ways now. As it is, don't bet your life on this app.

Hurricane Tracker?. It used to track hurricanes nicely a few years ago. Now, The "Tracker" always defaults its "Layer" to shelter locations, never to tracking a storm. Latest version on my iPad stopped tracking anything but shelters. Prior version, With Harvey's location, I would flip between radar and storm tracker layers, and through Harvey, storm tracker was way off, the date/time was wrong. Current version - where is Irma? I open the app, and it has zero warnings about Irma, but from what I hear elsewhere , it's a category 5 headed somewhere near south Florida. Dunno, can't see it in this app anymore. Poor quality control on the data, poor quality on the iPad.

This is a MUST app!!. This was a Godsend during Hurricane Sandy and the 2 other storms she merged with to become a devastating hybrid storm. No one no matter where you live or how safe you think you are should not be without this app on their phone

Everything in this app. This is AMAZING !!!! The tool box turns your phone into a flashlight, a strobe light, it has an alarm too. It will send out a message to family that you are ok. It lists and pinpoints evacuation centers. It pushes through alerts and updates. Everyone with a smartphone should have one. in fact everyone in a car should have this app.

Works well, high quality design. The app is beautifully designed and it is easy to use. Alerts and information are consistent and informative. I can always depend on this app come hurricane season. It's a must have.

Useful info for before and after. Almost useless during the storm.. I like all the prepping info and all the emergency tips etc. However, anytime I try to select one of my locations, the app crashes. The "up to date" maps of active storms are useless. They're ridiculously small, have no additional information outside of the radar picture, and throughout Sandy, seemed to be at least an hour behind. Having the prep info, and the aftermath help is great, but don't rely on this for help during the storm.

Good app, uses GPS in background. We got this to track hurricane Sandy and it is good for that. Ironically, we noticed our iPhone batteries being drained much quicker after installing this app. To fix this, go to settings -> privacy -> location services. Then turn off Location services for Hurricane. If you lose the ability to charge your mobile phone, such as during a hurricane, you want your existing charge to last as long as possible.

Incredibly useful during hurricane Matthew I was in coastal Carolina. I couldn't evacuate because I have dogs, cats, fish, and lizards and I can't leave them behind so I rented a huge rv to transport animals but I had no idea where our evacuation route was so I looked on this app and found my local Red Cross shelter
