Rivercast's map not only shows you where the stations are, but color codes them when it can to give you an indication whether the location is at normal levels, approaching flood levels, or above flood stage.

You can get the latest observations from the map, search, or favorites. With an additional tap of your finger you can get a detailed interactive hydrograph. You can zoom in, zoom out, or pan with your fingers to find the exact information you need. If you "tap and hold" on the graph you can view the crosshair "bubble" text to assist you further.

To customize your graphs for what's important to you, you can add your own level lines to mark things like sandbars, rocks, bridges, safe conditions, or whatever you would like.

And you can add the streams or rivers that you would like to regularly monitor to your Favorites list for easy "at a glance" viewing.

Rivercast™ uses the latest observation and forecast data available, and requires an Internet connection for use.

Favorites, Map "Instant Observations", and Hydrograph data is viewable in feet or cfs (when available).

All observation and forecast data is in your local time for your convenience.

A handy tool for boaters, fishermen, property owners, paddlers, scientists, marine professionals, and the curious.

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

Where does Rivercast™ get its data?
• This app uses NOAA and AHPS (Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service) for its raw data for our custom graphing and mapping solutions. There are some locations that are available via other government agencies (including USGS) that are not available via this app.

Why does Rivercast™ sometimes show slightly different flow data (CFS) than USGS?
• CFS is a calculated estimate derived from stage height. NOAA and USGS estimates may sometimes slightly vary due to using different data models. Variances are usually within a few percent, but can sometimes be larger. Stage height should always be identical between USGS and NOAA. Designated flood stages are based on stage height in feet in the USA.

Why does Rivercast™ only show observations, but not forecasts, for my river?
• NOAA issues forecasts for many, but not all, rivers it monitors. Sometimes forecasts are only issued seasonally, or during times of flooding or high water.

My river gauge was there yesterday, but its gone today?
• River gauges have a hard life. They occasionally have technical problems transmitting their data, or can even get washed out during extreme flooding. And some are seasonal. NOAA is usually pretty good about fixing them in a few days.

Great App to track/mark water levels. The rivers local to me have a narrow usable water level, just a few feet between too high / too low. With this app I can see and accurately plan when conditions are right. It’s easy to add your own colored lines/descriptions to mark water levels that worked well. Love this app.

Happy but .... Any chance in the future upgrades could water temps be shone also? That’s why I took a star plus there aren’t any half stars.

Waste Of Money. Paid for premium to see forecasting of river at my cabin knowing a flood was coming. Premium gave me no additional data!!! Pretty bad when another free app included the forecasting data as provided online by the Advanced Hydrolic Prediction Service. Complete waste of $5 for me and a reason why we should be allowed to try apps before buying. UPDATE: This app developer took two weeks to respond with a lame blanket statement that provided no help. Another River app developer contacted me in days and worked with me via email to identify the issue with the missing data.

Better than the news feed.. I’m so tired of refreshing my news feed searching for some happy news that I just gave up and read the river levels now, so much so that my wife asked me last night who I was texting.

Very useful. I use this app to provide river level and stream flow data to know if it's safe or possible to fly fish in the local rivers and streams. Being able to set custom levels is very handy. App works great it's literally been a lifesaver.

Handy. I have recreational property subject to flooding from time to time based on surrounding river stages. This is far quicker than trying to get around the NOAA site. This would be a 5 star if it provided the same historical river flood stages provided by NOAA, particularly with the premium version that I’ve purchased. Perspective is valuable.

Local rivers. This is a great source to look at, to see the river height above you, to make sure there is no flooding upstream. It also lets you know about how quick the river is, by the water depth.

Too little data. Would be great app if it didn’t require pemium upgrade to have more history and forecast data past two days. Pretty much worthless as it sits now. Going back to NOAA

MUSKINGUM River Life. We rely on this app to keep us up to date on flooding We know exactly what levels we need to watch To stay or leave our home Thank you The Hardwick's

Excellent app. We live by a river and depend on this app for accurate information. We have been using it for quite a while and it is proven itself to be accurate and exact. A necessary app if you live by a river.

Great app. We live near a river. It is so helpful to be able to check river levels up the river and of course the river level near you. Easy to use. It helps you know if you will need to evacuate

Best river app out there. I’ve tried a lot of river apps and this is by far the best. I really like the ability to set up custom river levels in the graph. Living near a river that floods every winter I use this app a lot. I wish there was an ability to set up a custom alert when a river hits a certain stage though.

Farmer. Like the old format far better. Can’t tell what is what anymore. Before, could see where flooding was generally by the coloration as zoomed out. Can’t do that anymore. Really, really dislike the icon changes to all orange and combining reporting stations. Want old version back!!!

Adventure. I constantly monitor the river levels of the Suwanee river for kayaking purposes and I constantly monitor the Peace river for fossil hunting purposes. Easy to use, just wish other outdoor sites were this easy.

Marine Construction Great APP. My company operates 15 tow/push boats, 3 barge staging fleets, and 7 marine crane barges for construction. Most of our construction projects on the river is driven by the stage of the river, so we have no choice but to monitor the river levels and forecast daily. This is a must have app if you’re in my line of work. Some of our projects can only be started or completed if the Mississippi River is at an 3 foot rage at the N.O. Gauge. We need to know what the river stage is doing daily in order to schedule some of our construction projects. This app is a great tool for work, fishing, hunting, and monitoring the water levels around our fishing camp. Gives me an idea of what’s going on around my fishing camp even when I’m not out there.

Weekly/daily tracking graph?. Just wondering if the site has a way to compare average levels from day to day in graph form. Just to compare!?

River Level Locations and Water Level Forecast. Need more points for data some rivers have no locations and some locations have no data that showed data two years ago. It would be a handy app if it were updated with more locations to check local rivers that affect everyone in my area. There is over a 100 mile stretch of the Platte River which I live next to where there is not any data for the river stage. This is one of the bigger rivers in the area. Also the river forecast hardly ever shows any data or information. It just show no forecast at this time. Very disappointed that the locations that are supposed to show data are either not working or need updated. Would not recommend this app unless you are looking for data for a major river if so it could work well.

Bought the upgrade, Doesn’t work at all!!🤬. Emailed the developer and so far, no response! I paid for the upgrade and I only have access to today’s river stage... So I try to access the premium upgrade and it still wants to sell me the upgrade, then I clicked on it and it tells me I already bought it! So I hard rebooted my phone and deleted the app and reinstalled it to no avail... I’m about to give up and look for another app!! I live on the Mississippi River flood plane and have a very limited window to move before the water is in my yard!

Excellent app. This app provides clear info into River stages allowing safe choices for travel and to know if one’s own home or that of a loved one needs precaution. It does exactly what it says and I’m only on basic. Highly recommend in today’s unpredictable climate.

Show levels twice a day. Afternoon showers can make it change, so showing levels morning and afternoon would be nice

Best fishing river gauge app out there !. Awesome app. Allows you to create notes and graphs for specific river levels. Very helpful for remembering how much or how little water is needed to fish somewhere.

Invaluable Fishing Aid. I live an hour+ from my favorite fishing spots. I always use Rivercast before I go or days in advance to see what is in store for me when I get there. Saves me a lot of time.

Vital information!!!. This app is extremely useful for anyone who lives near rivers. We live in a flood prone area, after storms this app makes it easy to see the water levels of river crossings. Flood stage is marked for all and when possible a future trend is included. This is not only interesting, it is vital information!!! Great for boaters too.

Eloquent interface. A stylistically beautiful application helpful in clarifying river dynamics, including hurricane Ian’s influence on the St Johns River. Immediately intuitive, articulately revealing, and just a great companion to understanding river conditions. Thank you from Florida PHW

Like it but...... I like the app and seems to work well. The only thing I’ve found that I don’t like is the way the graph works. I don’t like the fact you have to hold your finger on it to view past and future river levels. I end up messing up the graph with some pinch move and can’t tell what the level is then.

Use it most everyday. Luv the app, very clean, effective design, bug free. Wish it would offer the ability to plot longer time periods though!

Cumberland River. Thank you for this app. Living on the Cumberland keeps you on your toes as it fluctuates constantly 5’ to 10’ on many days. During possible flooding times this app will be priceless. Betty

Good app, where are push notifications via text?. Good app, however would like to see more notifications pushed to my phone or email giving me updates on favorite river water levels.

Nice app..graph is tricky. This app is right on target with other mainstream sites. The only tricky thing I notice is that the right hand end of the graph is offscreen, and I have to pinch and drag, drag, and then drag and hold with a finger to see the 48th hour position. IDE give it a 4.7 numerical.

Perfect. Using this app to keep an eye on several areas of Louisiana during floods. It's clean and updates often

Efficient, simple, easy to use.. My go-to app as a hydrologist. I use it daily to check the current flows and forecast. Data is pulled directly from each agency and combined in the nice graphic interface. I like the crosshairs for grabbing exact values. Very useful.

Great App For Fisherman To Watch River Levels. This app is the real deal! I had an issue that was quickly resolved and I stand corrected and I do apologize for suggesting any ill thoughts about this app or its developers in a previous post. Cory (a developer) reached out to me and the issue was a glitch either on my end or theirs but nonetheless the issue was resolved efficiently and professionally. This is a great app and I would encourage anyone to subscribe for the premium content especially fishermen that need to know what the river is doing so they can plan their trip accordingly. Get this app. Great information and class acts running it!

Don’t care for the new look at all. Don’t care for the new look at all The old look with squares and stars for favorites awas much better and was easier to see where the high water was by just zooming out a bit. This new look forces me to go to specific stations and is totally impractical. Looks like it was improvement just for the sake of offering something new.

Knowledge in action. As a sportsman fishing regularly I depend on this app, fish bite better when the Sabine River is falling, my years of fishing, taught me this, my trips have been so much more productive, thanks for a great source of information. Many have Equiment that has to be moved in high water, this stops losses for camps, logging, recreation. Good tool,

Great app.. Love the app. Used it my whole time with a boat. Only time I got caught in rain was health issues. Would love to see more navigations with buoys and nat gas buoys, notifications etc.

Keeping track of fishing/hunting spots. Worth the money! Sure the trend line is great but being able to mark important water levels is what makes this app so great! These levels are included on the graph of river level for ease of comparison.

GREAT APP. This is my go to app when the rains really come. Much more detailed and less sensational information than you will find from the TV weather guys.

Real-time information super useful. Commuting around rivers and living near one has kept me up to date about flooding in my area. It seems they are always finding ways to make this app a little better.

River Cast. A very serviceable app. Easy to use, and accurate. Only improvement would be either real-time readings, or something better than a two hour update.

Everyday Use and Reliability. I've been a guide in Montana for 15+ years and as an owner of an outfitting business here, this app is huge for not only my businesses day to day operations but for my days off as well. Because we offer trips on so many waters across the state and YNP, we have guides fishing different waters and stretches daily. I used other similar apps before but the map layout and favorites on this one make it so much quicker and easier to use. You'll never find one with all of the gauge stations and data, but these guys are close and they keep working on it. Great app and as a fourth generation Montanan and guide, I highly recommend it.

Guide use. I am a fishing guide in Minnesota and have been using this app for a few years now. Can’t live without it! I fish a lot of different rivers and streams and this app helps me do a lot of scouting without having to get eyes on. Love this app. Pass it on to all my clients.

No Wasted Time. We have property 2 hours away to hunt and fish. I used this app because it was accurate. The water has to be low for fishing success. If it rains heavily and water is running and it’s high- waste of time and gas. This app saved me time and money. It is accurate on the water levels. I need the water 2.0 and lower for great fishing, this app the best so far on accuracy. It has a place for on the levels page to mark the height of water. Before this app I would take my chances, now, I’ll get the rods ready and head up to the steam because of this apps “point on “water levels. What a great app for me. It has worked very well. Excellent.

Great investment. I’m very grateful to have this data at my disposal. I live near areas that can flood and i also have another property that could be at risk in major coastal storms. I like the way the data is presented (especially compared to trying to interpret the raw data if you go to USGS directly, and on a phone screen no less). USGS output is more technical in nature and designed to be read on a large monitor. If I had a wish list it might be nice to get notifications when approaching a flood condition - although only a small minority of flood gauges actually are forecasted by USGS, or even have calibrations for various flood stage levels. I also used to check this info for a buddy’s vacation home, but now he has the app. I’d like to add (a few years later - it’s May 2022) that many new features and options in settings have been added, plus it seems like there’s far more reporting stations then there used to be. So, as I said a few years ago, this app is a worthwhile investment, especially if you have property, boats, or loved ones to protect

Good app. Needs to update data points. I use this app for work and play. Issues with not updating app to reflect new data points on rivers I frequent. End up having to go to other sources for data.

Good to have during hurricane or flooding.. I used this app while going through Hurricane Barry to keep up with river forecast to know if my home would flood. It has been a handy tool and I highly recommend it.

Very useful. Check this app everyday before headed out to the river. Never once have had any issues and the info is also accurate and up the date

Larry. Love this app, just wish it would show more history… I use this app for planning my salmon and steelhead fishing trips. No one can predict very accurately where river levels will be more than a few days to perhaps a week ahead. But seeing more history would be very handy as well… So I can go back and see where the river level was when we had a great day.

Have to pay for each device?. I paid for premium and it will only allow me to save more than one favorite on one device. I have multiple favorites saved on my iPhone and when it try to do the same on other devices it tells me I must pay for another subscription. If this is the way this app is suppose to work it is a ripoff.

Rivercast. This is a good app to watch the flood stage for our river property which is over an hour from where we live. What would make this app great is if there was a notification for when the water was near flood stage, maybe 5-8 feet below so we knew to keep a close eye on it. If we could opt to receive a text notification if this occurred it would be fantastic! Overall I am satisfied with the app.

Mehhh. I had a great river app that let me store many favorites and was extremely valuable to me. I did not have to pay anything for it and after a few years the app was no longer supported. This app would be great but I’m not going to pay win this information is free and easily gathered from the USGS sites.

Right on the money. This app really works I live on the tippecanoe river so I can look at this app and look at the river and see that this app is right

Great app. Pulls data from USGS. I like how it holds past data. It keeps me ahead of rising water and lets me know what kind of flow to expect for fishing the river.

Reads wrong levels. Always reads the levels are lower than what the national data shows and I actually just went down there to check for myself. Smh paid $5 to support it too.

River review. This app is helpful I love not far from the Susquehanna river in Wilkes Barre PA I went thru the flood of 1972 and never want to see that again it good to have a heads up on the river so you can prepare

Lake elevation. If all you want is what the lake level is or what it has been the last 1-2 days ,this works. Wish they would show it long . The long term history would be niece. I paid for the upgrade ( $ 4.99 ) I found no different in the app.

Upgrade. Bought the upgrade. Still only see a couple says. As of yet, no value.

Great App for River Rats. I’ve been using this app along the Ohio during a flood pattern. It is easy to use. I highly recommend its use if you require action as a boater or land owner impacted.

The best River info. I use Rivercast daily. This is the best info available to follow river and lake levels. You can get normal lake levels, current level and on some rivers get a 10 day projection. Very helpful for people in flood zones. If you are a fisherman you need Rivercast ! 5 stat app!👏

Thank y’all,. This app has been a great blessing especially during the recent flooding here at Drop Anchor RV Park. I’m so glad I have it during this. Thank You Very Much!!

Made for the Mariner. This is a great and very helpful app for the Mariners out there.. I use it often to assist with River Stages and Bridge clearances on my job as a Tow Boat Captain.

Rivercast. This app is an essential part of your hunting attire if you hunt or work in the river swamp. Just a click and you can check water levels

Flint River. Need more information when bringing up River levels. Need normal level line.

Excellent. Accurate and timely information well presented 👍👍

Run the Ohio River. We have cruised the Ohio all the way to Pittsburgh. Rivercast dose a great job of illustrating river levels. Also like the CFS info on flow rates at given locations.

Just what I need. Thanks for making this app it is very useful

River Rats. Count on this for accuracy and perspective when deciding on whether to move the camper off the Huron River or just watch it roll on by! Thanks

Charging for free data. It seems silly to pay for data that is free. River flows really don’t change much over a 30 hour time period. I’ll take the extra time to just google the USGS data that is free and dates back for years.

Great resource for river fans!. I’ve loved this app for years to check river flow conditions for safety and clarity. Premium version worth it!

Junk. Guess for free it didn’t cost my any thing but 20 dollars in gas and 2 hour of my time. Said my fav fishin spot was 4.92 feet which is only 2 ft above normal. Get the boat hooked up everything and everybody ready and loaded in tru k get gas and snacks then drive 45 min and wham the river is 18-20 ft the whole ramp is under. My fault for not realizing we had that much rain I guess.

Great!. Only reason this isn’t a five star for me is that you gotta pay to have more than one favorite, other than that, it’s awesome

Property owner on lake Coeur d Alene, Idaho. App does not project lake levels beyond 1 day without premium membership. Limited 2 day projection is of no value. Basic app is useless. Info from the two major tributaries to CDA lake are missing and no data is available from station at the beginning of Spokane river at lake CDA. Do not purchase

Paid but no access. Paid but no access

Great app but.... I think this app is great as a boater! But I can’t seem to upgrade to premium??? Every time I try in the app it comes up with a notification there is an error.

River stages. Love this sight!! Living on the Illinois side of the Mississippi, we rely on accurate information and the TV station doesn’t provide that. So I do for the people in our area!!

Very helpful. I can see current river levels by tapping on map data points great for planning when to go floating!

3 day forecast. Wish it gave the day before and the day after forecast also

Rivercast. Great app. Satisfies all my needs. All my boating/fishing friends use it for reliable information

Always thinking of the person using App!!!. Went on today to check the river, and was reminded of the heat warning. Very considerate. Great App!!

Great river app. Works great, simple and easy to access data and accurate

One of the best!. I use this all the time for water levels / flows / etc. puts me in the fish 95% of the time

Convenient map display.. Most of other apps are lost based. But this one is map based.

River cast app. Works good low signel covrage areas use app pull screen check charts quick easy

River app. One of the worst apps ever can’t pull up forecasts and when you do it doesn’t give you future cast not worth the money

Very satisfied. This map has improved, and improving,I’ll write more later DWW

Excellent support. Excellent support. My emails were answered immediately.

Great app for river guides!. I depend on this app to prepare me for challenging water conditions before I run my fishing trips. It’s generally accurate with forecasts but it’s very helpful with current river and creek flows.

Very convenient app. This real time data is extremely helpful for working in the river bottoms.

Great App for Lake Ontario water levels. Excellent app finally found something I can use for real time lake Ontario water levels

Rhino. I love this app too check out the dog river too see how high the river is and how fast it’s falling out great app too have if u fish on small rivers

Wish it worked properly. I bought the premium and the app still won’t show predicted level. I tried to update… still won’t work.

Accurate River Levels. Accurate river levels anytime needed. Helps me plan safe fishing and kayak trips.

I like it but it seems to have some data glitches. Soucook river pembroke NH has a flood warning and the warning text says flood level is 7 feet. The app chart shows a flood level of 11 feet.

Fellow waterman. Boater, Mississippi river front land user conservationist Steward hiker paddleboard & labrador retriever aficionado. I rely on this appTo give me timely and accurate no nonsense Raw data. it does exactly that it’s worth it’s money in knowledge

Great App. We live on a South Texas river that flooded in '98. Hurricane Harvey lust blew thru and this app is keeping everyone updated on the current river level and cresting height. Great info!!!

Necessary app for anyone who lives on the Oregon coast!. It works well if the county (state ?) river monitoring systems are working. Thanks

Upper kern river. Sure wish you guys had something up in the Johnson Dale areas

Increase data to 1 year oh history!!. I would gladly give you the money if your app could give a years worth of history, makes predicting historical so much easier. Please add!!!!!!

I already paid for premium!. 2 years ago I paid for “upgrade”. Suddenly I can’t view forecasts and history unless I pay for upgrade again.

Great App. This is the best app I’ve found for getting water levels all across the country. It’s a valuable tool for tournament fishing and hunting.

Everything works as promised, and no ads!. Refreshingly straightforward app, not yet ruined by the monetizes.)
