Love the Evening Standard. Best and only evening paper still existing in London and free...thanks ES...good reporting, features and favourite codeword puzzle.

Crashes. This app crashes all the time and freezes my whole phone. Just go to the website. They haven’t updated in over a year, so abandon this app like the creators obviously well.

Logo. Change the logo back or I’ll curb stomp your grandma.

Abysmal. This app is awful. You have to zoom in on the articles and they are too blurry to read. What a waste of time. And to think they were actually charging for this until recently! 0 stars.

Old version so much better. Ever since they switched to the new version, I cannot properly load it. So, I’ve stopped reading

Not a fan of new layout.. Sorry I much preferred the older layout. Closer to actual news paper format. I miss the letters, comic and editorials. I live in San Francisco but am a frequent visitor to London. The ES is great for quick ideas for dinner. Lunch, events. New style format makes these difficult and almost impossible to find. Original layout would have gotten 5 stars.

Great to read stories and viewpoints from another nation. It is great to read stories, reviews, food articles. I've been to London twice and if I ever win the lottery, I will move there

Weak excuse to display ad banner. Nearly indistinguishable from the web site ie no app-specific features. The only unwelcome addition is a too-large navigation banner at top of screen and, inevitably, an ad banner at bottom. If you're like the other 90% of the world using a browser ad blocker then installing yet another app for a single web site is nonsensical.

Slow and problematic. Somehow manages to freeze my new iPhone SE and make it totally unresponsive for 30+ seconds. Volume, home, lock buttons all non-responsive. Had similar issues on a 5S but seems it’s not a fault of an older phone.

Useless. Opens front page then never downloads the rest, it's a joke!

Great paper, excellent app. Read the ES every day. Love how easy the app works and the format of the app.

Gives me perspective. I’m an elderly US citizen living in North Carolina. I Lived in London in the 1980’s. I Think the ES provides a youngish view of the world, and also reports objectively on US events, maybe less biased that US papers. I also subscribe to the FT, so along with the NYT and other papers, I get a reasonable information stream.

Loved the old app. The new app sometimes takes ages to load articles. If it does at all.

Love it!. Since visiting London I have completely enjoyed reading the Standard. This app is great and I love keeping up on the news.

Hate the latest version. Finding the latest version difficult to navigate and hate the puzzles being in a different link. Plus the puzzles link doesn’t show previous days - only the current day’s puzzle so there doesn’t seem to be a way to go back if you miss a day.

App crashes before it opens. Not usable

constantly crashes and freezes on iphone8 / IOS 11. This should not be allowed in the app store. it keeps crashing iphone8 and likely any phone running IOS 11. Starts, you can read one or more articles before it freezes and IOS freezes too. Try to kill the app with a swipe up and it freezes. Needs to be removed and seriously debugged. I would say it was never tested on IOS11. Performing some illegal system called that was deprecated. Poor show. Especially from major newspaper. No update for over a year. Time to go.

Crashes all the time. This app freezes the iPhone 8 and crashes all the time. It hasn’t been updated for a long time. Avoid

Problematic. Marvellous to read the paper, and option to view the paper as printed is great. But some sections -- such as Codeword -- do not update since the app was itself updated to the new format. Seems lazy work.

Great app. Love the puzzles!

I hate this new download. I can’t open anything. Nothing works. The whole thing won’t download.

News from home. Wonderful to be able to stay in touch wherever I am in the world.

Error in data. For a few weeks now I cannot use the app on iPhone 6. When loading it gives "Error in data" message and does not load content. Deleted, reinstalled, subscribed again. Same error. Hope it gets fixed.

Crashy and sticky. This app needs work to improve. Not good enough. Has all the same faults as the Independent app.

Doesn’t work with iOS17. Unfortunately the app crashes every time in iOS17. Looking forward to an update that fixes this. Thanks

An incredible International read. I was visiting the UK in 2016 and discovered the Evening Standard. What a great read! This newspaper kept me informed and up to date, on a daily basis,… AND,.. included fresh, very current international news from my home country, Australia. I returned home and, ever since that visit have continued to download the daily paper to keep abreast of what is happening in the UK. As I said, a great read,.. keep it up Evening Standard.

Freezes more often than not.. When it opens it’s terrific but increasingly it freezes and locks up your browser. You have to close down and power off to get your browser to work again. Pity.

evening standard worse since changes. Once upon a time, the Evening Standard came to my email.I could open it and read it like reading a paper - it was simple. But now I have to have a profile, I have to login daily just look at the paper each day - and I can't find archives any more. it's so much more difficult to navigate.Just fail to understand why these changes were necessary and expression "less is more" was never more apt.

Spelling. I’m not sure if you have a proofreader. There are lots of spelling, punctuation, sentence, and other convention errors. Content is good but the often glaring errors mentioned make it a 4 instead of a 5.

Rubbish. Much prefer the old style. This one isn’t at all good. Considering deleting the app altogether

Font gets blurry when zooming. With the latest update I was disappointed to find that when zooming in to enlarge the words, they become blurry. This wasn’t a problem with the old version and it something that needs to be fixed. In the past when I pinched and zoomed to increase the size of the words they remained crisp and easily readable, but this has changed and it’s disappointing. Please fix
