BrainHQ - Brain Training

Train your brain with BrainHQ from Posit Science—the most rigorous program available for better brain health, and the only one backed by more than 100 scientific papers showing benefits. Now with new features that contribute to your brain fitness success!

BrainHQ represents the culmination of 30 years of research in neurological science and related medicine. Top scientists from around the world helped to develop and test the BrainHQ exercises. The result: a training system that comprehensively improves brain function, from the most basic elements of perception through the most complex elements of memory, thinking, and decision-making.

No other brain fitness program can match BrainHQ in scientific proof. More than 100 publications from independent, randomized controlled trials have shown that the exercises and assessments in BrainHQ drive real change. These changes include:
• functional changes, such as better memory and faster processing speed
• real-world abilities, including safer driving and a lower chance of depressive symptoms
• physical brain changes, like healthier white matter and more coordinated neurons.

All of this means that BrainHQ works—in laboratory studies, and in the lives of everyday people:

•"BrainHQ is a no-brainer must-have in my book…This training has expanded my visual, fine-tuned my audio and even my reflexes seem to be getting faster. BrainHQ is fun and gives me the challenges I need to keep my brain working out on a daily basis."    - C. MacDonald

•"Only a few months into the BrainHQ exercises the difference is clear, this isn’t left to speculation, I saw drastic improvements…and my family has noticed a strong improvement." -A. Amitrano

And leading publications agree: “Our testers concluded that Posit's product—one of the few so far to undergo clinical trials and peer-reviewed research—had the firmest scientific grounding.” - Wall Street Journal

The BrainHQ app helps you set and achieve your brain training goals—so it not only works, it works for you.

Each exercise adapts to your performance and gets more challenging as your performance improves, just like a personal trainer for your brain.

The training is designed to fit into your life: train for just 5 minutes in your spare time, or do a complete workout in an hour.

SocialPrimate

There are tons of "brain games" out there but BrainHQ is the only program with real science behind it.

I try to set time to do this every day and I'm seeing results. It's just like working out. Need to do it often and if you do results are seen. Love it

Mixed review  Lissa Jean  4 star

I really like and appreciate the app! It does challenge me in the areas I really need the challenge. But I do agree with some of the comments I've read. It needs tweaking. The voice part of shovel before flower one drives me crazy, maybe that's part of my deficit, not sure, but it does. The facial recognition one I agree with the comments as well. But, all in all, I love the app and am grateful to have this tool to help me with My deficits. As for the charge, the more people that actual do support it, the more chances rather can improve the matters, just my thoughts.

How to play each level  C3bh  2 star

It would be a help if the instructions were more clear. It is difficult to play something when the instructions are not clear or the game just comes on and have to figure out which session is coming up to play. If decide to skip an exercise, the play starts completely over. Is this a glitch in the program? Automatically quit when this happens as you are telling me that what was done before has no meaning. The scoring is confusing. You take more points away than you give for a correct answer. Try to do that in the public school system and you would be in deep trouble. C3BH

GradStude

Some activities better than others  GradStude  3 star

Some of the activities need a lot of improvement. The facial expression recognition activity is completely ridiculous and I highly doubt it would help anyone in any sort of real life situation. The people in the photographs are making overly exaggerated, forces facial expressions. This does little to capture the true psychology of emotion and micro expressions that people often miss. In fact, in some of the photos where people are supposed to be grimacing or making angry faces, you can see the "smile" in their eyes or that they are trying not to laugh. As other reviews have mentioned, the instructions are unclear on many of the activities. In general, most of the games could use minor tweaks and updates.

Great challenges and learning  cindifaith  5 star

I really like this app and I am navigating my way through it. Some exercises are more challenging than others which I appreciate. There is an occasional time where I don't quite understand the instructions so I don't think they are all written well, but I've managed to get through them and maybe that's a challenge in itself. It's worth a try I would rather do this then play a nonproductive game.

Before you can play the game, you have to sign up with your name and email address and...almost immediately after I tried the first exercise, I received an email asking me to sign up for a $14.95/mo. subscription. No thanks.

Very Good, Useful App  Rachel A. Clark  5 star

I think Brain HQ is really the best and most useful of all the brain-training apps I've tried using. What it has to offer for helping people/brains function better goes WAY above and beyond any others I've seen.

Scientifically proven- best brain training EVER!  Jg.1975  5 star

I'm an occupational therapist and worked with neurologically impaired ( TBI, CVA, MS, Parkinson's, etc) and wish this program was a standard intervention for those patients. I have been subscribing to it for two years & it has significantly improved my ADHD as well as many other areas. It is VERY challenging and also rewarding ( I'm over 40 and I will retry an exercise to get more stars:-) but you have to be consistent. There are TONS of exercises- you will not get bored. You are paying for the science and research of this program- and it's worth every single penny. If I won the lotto, I would buy for everyone I knew!

Westerntravels

Great app -  Westerntravels  4 star

This is a great app and one that I will use for a long time I believe especially coming from the scientific community. That in itself is what attracted me to this app. I would like to see all its features become seamless across various platforms. Right now - a desktop version supplies more data- but the drills/games are actually better suited to the iPhone or iPad. Email notifications hinder a sequence which affects scoring- overall though, I applaud this app.

Murjd

Really good app  Murjd  4 star

I love this app, it's very challenging and presses my faculties, I can feel it. Still too early to see significant change but I am very hopeful, particularly because there is actual research to back the claims. However, there is little help in some of the things that aren't obvious, like someone else besides me (I saw this in the questions) had a hard time connecting with the correct program after I paid for my subscription. I also am looking for the evaluation of my current standing. I thought there would be a testing of various skills followed by an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses. I still can't find that. It was indicated not only from Posit but also from the AARP website offering a version of the subscription as well. I would like this evaluation.

No upper limit  CruzJones  5 star

This is a dynamic series with interesting, changing exercises that adapt to your skill levels. I can feel the improvements in short term memory and focus. I like they way different senses are employed, sound as well as visual and kinetic.

Scientific and Fun!  meccajds  5 star

Backed by peer-reviewed science, this game is good for all functions of your brain. Highly recommend.

Bible student of many years

It's definitely a challenge  Bible student of many years  5 star

One of the things I love about this app is the fact that it's randomized, to the point where you don't feel like you can shut part of your brain off or rely on memory, like some other apps I've tried. It forces you to pay constant attention and concentrate on the tests. Even when you feel like you're totally focused, it still manages to throw you a curve ball you weren't expecting. But I've noticed subtle differences in my ability to think, focus and remember, so this one is definitely a keeper for me

AB1471

Do something about the design  AB1471  1 star

This app is in serious need of some design help. I downloaded the app and haven't used it more than a couple of times because the design is dull and unappealing.

Sherlock17171717171717

Best Brain Training  Sherlock17171717171717  5 star

Best on the market...Better than Lumosity.

Monica284

Great app!  Monica284  5 star

This app has what seems like endless activities for improving brain processing and memory.

Piperwarrior II

One of better ones  Piperwarrior II  4 star

BrainHQ is obviously one of several apps of its kind on the market. In my opinion it's better designed, and if you use it consistently, will certainly enhance ur cognitive skills. It has for me. Drills/exercises like double decision, target tracker will train you to observe more and faster around you in the external sensory environment. Memory drills like hawkeye, and eye for detail, help you to notice and remember better, and more. What I also like is that it helps you track your progress
