ArtScroll Digital Library Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Only show in town - you are stuck. Having exclusive rights to digital material from ArtScroll/Mesorah publications seems to include not fixing bugs. Hey why bother when you can’t go anywhere else for the same copyright material. The developers have gotten lazy.

The standard in Talmud and Siddur English translation, however the app needs work.. I use this app on a daily basis for the Siddur and Talmud. The Talmud is expensive but essential. Much credit to ArtScroll for publishing their electronic version of the Talmud, I just hope they continue to develop this application to make it perform much better!.... And publish more of their books!! Also note this app does not allow you to copy and paste text, say for example you wanted to paste an excerpt into a word processor or email. Also the app is extremely slow and unstable in performance on an iPhone 6 so beware of running on anything less…

Great app, still needs work. Got the app right when it came out, and I've been playing around with it for a few days now. This really is a great thing, and I see how this will revolutionize learning the daf in our digital age. The features are quite useful, and make learning an interactive experience. However, this app still needs work. It still freezes and crashes a little too often, and overall performance needs to be faster. I'm sure these issues will be solved in future updates, so as for now, great job artscroll!

Great app, needs improvement. I love the app, I hope more Hebrew volumes are released soon, but the hyperlinks that suggest to buy other volumes and safarim really disturb the learning, you should replace it with pop up boxes, and maybe in the box add a link to purchase, otherwise it feels like you are targeting me with ads while learning with a paid version.

Annoying unskippable popups. In this latest version the powers-that-be in their insulting and paternalistic ways have decided against implementing a working disable option for the Internet warning, and instead have just added an option to disable it for an entire week(!). Thank you so much, our most benevolent overlords! Instead of figuring out ways how to annoy your paying customers, why don't you work optimizing the program to speed it up so that it doesn't take 15 seconds to turn a page on an iPad 2? How about giving us an option to disable sponsor pages? Or at least to add back the close button which existed in the early versions. Review on the prior version: The annoying internet warning screen cannot be disabled in this version, contrary to what is written in the update details. Seriously Artscroll, can we at least have a grace period so that sponsor popup message only displays once per day and no more?

Great Start. It’s an awesome app that is nice to carry around my library anywhere I go. However, I’d like to see more in the digital library. Like the sets of writings, prophets, and Chumash. I would also like an easier and faster interface that would also work with the Apple Pencil and write notes. I feel they definitely need to higher new designers for the app. It’s nice and convenient, but it’s hard to navigate easily and feel that it needs to be brought up to today’s standards.

Shelf. How do you go back to the shelf?

Monthly subscription should be changed to one time purchase option.. Great app but I’d like to purchase instead of monthly subscription ... please add that option for all volumes bundle price and individual sets. Thank you in advance!

It’s buggy... but. It keeps autoscrolling to end of tractate but should not if you are coming from the introduction. Sefaria is free without the glitches, I paid over $600 for Babylonia then a 300 iPhone to read it on yet it’s buggy. Nevertheless, the ArtScroll version has helpers that make it better than Sefaria, so ArtScroll continues to be my preference.

Needs updated GUI UI/UX design. Please update the GUI/UI/UX this app is clunky and outdated! Make it minimalistic. It crashes a lot and has terrible loading times! I see you finally updated your website what about this app please!!!! Fix GUI and all and this is a 5 star app but as it is now just one.

Game changer. This app is truly a game changer. I never thought about doing daf yomi. I never thought I could discipline myself to adhere to the rigors of the schedule. This app offers a degree of flexibility, portability, and convenience that the possibility of daf yomi for me is a reality. Even aside from that, the level of explanation allows someone like me, not proficient enough to learn from a traditional shas on his own, to actually achieve a meaningful level of learning. Artscroll you have changed the way people in this generation can learn. Thank you

Wonderful App that will only get better.. As a Baal Teshuva, I plan to use the iPad version of the Artscroll Talmud for Daf Yomi. It is a wonderful App that will only get better with each update. I have used the Rusty Brick Siddur since it first came out for the iPhone I have been impressed how they have continually improved the Siddur. I expect this will be the same for the Artscroll Talmud. With iPad version I can study Gamara anywhere, on the way to work, at the office during lunch, at home or at Shul. I highly recommend this App. For all the technology advances that Rusty Brick and Artscroll included in the App, I feel the price is reasonable. The Notes section both as a Window and below the English/Hebrew text is unstable and buggy. It skips around. It is difficult to recall the note after it leaves the screen. The Notes feature needs work.

ArtScroll Digital Library. I just downloaded a few of my mesichtas for the first time to my iPhone (before I was using my iPad mini) WOW! I didn't believe it was possible to do on a phone. I don't even have Retina (I'm using a 3GS), so I don't go below 75%, and this is UNBELIEVABLE. They have outdone themselves. So now even in those situations where it is too inconvenient to carry around even the Mini, I can open up the phone and learn!

Incredible App. Artscroll has done a fantastic job with this app. One of the reasons I bought the IPad was in anticipation of this app and I am not disappointed. The ability to highlight a few words at a time and see the translation with nekudos and notes is invaluable. It also makes the experience of learning Gomorrah much more stream lined. For all of you complaining about the price/ the fact that you own a hard copy remember that this is a very different product than the physical book. Additionally Artscroll had to do some serious development to produce this app. Also, most consumers are not aware that Artscroll does not actually make much money at all per Sefer. It is very expensive to produce a high quality book. This is a great chance for an organization that has done so much for the Jewish community to financially reap the benefits of their labour. In short I have been inspired to learn as a result of this app. What more can a Jew want?

Great, but is not easy to use. The app has good content, I like the Rashi. Howver, it is not convenient. When I go to the TOC and use the links, it crashes and says it’s unable to show. Any downloaded content should be easy to go across by TOC. The Rashi TOC is not well designed, it doesn’t have Parashas based references similar to the Sapirstein edition books

Very buggy but promising. I want to love this but it is so buggy. The setting never work in the drop down menu. There is a option to turn off "Elucidation". My assumption is this would turn off all the added or inferred translation but nothing happens. When I turn on to mark sugyas nothing. Perhaps I'm using the app wrong but don't think so. If they fix the bugs and I can turn off settings like Elucidation in the translation then I'm on board. Until then I'll wait this out for a much needed update.

Great app.. The most thorough learning tool with hyperlinks on the market. Extensive and detailed.

Great idea many issues existing for way too long. This is a wonderful app. However it has many issues the developers simply won't fix. When downloading volumes you get an odd error with a series of letters. Wren queried they blamed Apple. No, this is ridiculous. Every other app fixes their bugs to work with Apple's system. Then they never update the base files with updates. So if you have to download again for whatever reason you get the base files from years ago and thousands and thousands of updates that have to run. Much better would be to update the base files every couple of years to avoid the hours it takes to download again. Finally the most recent version puts the dedication line at the top of each page and even worse it changes up and back which is very distracting when learning.

Game changer. The ability to click on a word on the gemorah page and see the translation to me is a game changer. I can now review the daf without the translation and just click a word if I get stuck. I also noticed that I can add the regular artscroll footnotes to the popup in the settings. The app really needs instructions and has bugs, but this first version was really well done.

App quitting after last update 10/13. This is an outstanding app with excellent technical support. All the bug reports that I have sent have been answered in less than an hour, including one at 3 am on Sunday. It is a real pleasure to study the daf yomi with this app and the practicality of having over 200 pounds of gemarot in an iPad and iPhone is priceless. This app is, in reality, a community effort and only by contributing with the developers it will become a tool that will certainly increase Torah study worldwide. So, once you start using the app, send your suggestions and ideas to the developers. Having said that, after the last update on 10/13, the app in my iPhone shows the starting page when launched, but then quits.

3D. Now that the Daf Yomi is learning Eruvin,When will you fix the 3-D viewer which no longer works on iOS

Excellent App. I am really happy with the whole App experience. Version 1.1 is very stable with only a few small issues. Ability to zoom in and enlarge the commentaries is fantastic, the English side is very easy to use and it's also easy to highlight the Artscroll footnotes. App team is very responsive. Pricing options have become affordable, too. Looking forward to the next release!

Extremely slow. This app is the Slowest app that I have used. Everything takes time to load and It comes in slow motion. With the latest version they also restricted the use of any background audio, such as a audio shuir or a noise maker. Additionally, I understand that Artscroll has sponsors, but we are all also paying for the app. There is no reason that every time the app is loading, there is a word about the sponsor for 30 seconds. It's extremely annoying.

Great features. Great English only mode, I'm not so great with Hebrew - so I just turned it off. The app was a little slow on startup, but the features definitely made up for it! Looking forward to the new feature updates. Btw - I discovered that you can switch between Hebrew and English by tapping the book icon at the top of the page.

App crashes. App crashes immediately after opening Version 8.00

Please update for new phone. Please update for the dynamic island. Also please remove the settings cog on the actual page. It’s blocks text. There are 3 different settings cogs on every screen plus the one in the draw.

Fantastic Update. I started using the digital version with the beginning of this cycle and experienced the problems noted by others with navigating between views and especially with viewing the notes. The update not only fixed the problems, it makes the product even easier to use. Kol hakavod.

Still needs much improvement. Needs to be redesigned ASAP. It’s clunky and old school design. Maybe new developers?

App crashes every time. Every time I open the store the app crashes And I tried deleting and reinstalling the app

2 Thumbs up!!!!!!!!. Because it has been almost a year and a half since ArtScroll came out, it is very very tiring to hear "we are working on it" The app crashes several times a session. Yellow highlight disappears, needing to close app and reopen, sometimes several times. Claiming that you do not need internet once downloaded, many times, a window opens up, not letting you to continue, because, something related to internet is causing it not to open. An excellent tool for learning, but enough excuses. New update. when it crashes, it now crashes and shuts down the iPad itself. Also, when you advance the text, it stopped automatically advancing when you reach border. Great!!! Every update 2 steps backwards.

Unbelievable!. This app beyond my wildest expectations. Sheer genius! Incredible job! All those who complained about the price should take it easy. It's a fraction of the printed edition price and has much more advantages. $10 a month is less than your daily toll fare to work. And the profits are a zillionfold. 30 gorgeous blatt of Gemara presented and explained clearly and beautifully! What more can you ask for! I'm sure this version made it affordable for people who never considered buying the printed edition. Way to go Artscroll, we're sure this is just the beginning, as amazing as it is!

Terrible app.. I wanted to live it. But cannot is even use the Art Scroll seforim app

Great App, please add hyperlinks to every reference. Please add hyperlinks to as many of the references as you can in the Hebrew and English parts, including the notes. I love the ability to click on the references in the notes. Please add hyperlinks to all references to other commentators in the notes to Chumash, Rashi, Tosfos, Mishna Berurah, Rishonim, Achronim, etc.. This will make your product unique and a must-have product. Thanks for helping us all take our learning to the next level. Also, as someone whose spent approximately $1,500 to buy the paper copy of the ArtScroll Shas and Mishna, it’s hard to justify spending more money on the electronic version. Is there a way I can show you that I own the paper copy and you can give me access to the electronic version of what I already purchased. Thanks in advance for saying yes.

Extremely Upset at Price Increase. Why the Price Increase - Just got the following email from itunes We've been informed that the price of your 1-Month Schottenstein Talmud Digital English Monthly Daf Yomi Subscription subscription has increased from $6.99 to $9.99 This is absolutely disappointing having committed to paying a monthly subscription fee andf then all of a sudden increasing it. What is to stop them from increasing it again in another month. And the month after that. I am sorry but I am upset because they advertised a subscription which would have cost over $600 and now changed it to almost $900. Sound like a bait and switch to me

How Dare You!. What's up with the price increase? I bought the full size ArtScroll printed version 7 1/2 years ago on the last cycle of Daf Yomi and signed up for the subscription when you first released the app for the iPad. You did not offer a discount to the people who spent thousands with you for the printed version and you raised the price of the monthly subscription in less than one month after releasing the app! There are no guarantees that you won't raise the price again. Would it have killed you to honor the pricing for existing subscriptions? How many people subscribed at the $6.99 price? Would this loss of income force you out of business or require you to lay off employees? Is it worth the ill will and bad feelings this move created? People have praised ArtScroll for making learning easier and more accessible to those without a Yeshiva background. I'm beginning to feel I should have spent the last 8 years and thousands of dollars learning to read the original texts. Thank you for providing the motivation I need for learning how to learn.

Setting the Standard. Once again, Artscroll sets the standard, now with its excellent iPad app. The app splendidly brings the same fine quality as the printed editions to the iPad, where text can be easily increased in size, and where text will soon be able to be searched. It's wonderful to imagine a complete Talmud set in one's briefcase. And then, one can hope, the good folks at Artscroll will go on to add the Jerusalem Talmud, the Midrash, and their other fine products. May they go from strength to greater strength!

Great up until the latest update. I use the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch in the app, and when I go to scroll one part whether it be the English or Hebrew it scrolls all three. What ends up happening is the sub notes are not at the correct place

Excellent app. This app is excellent when purchasing the shas to your library. It’s amazing to have all of shas including a robust search engine at your finger tips! The pages are crisp and clear and the format is simple to use and very accessible. I highly recommend!

Thanks for fixing the offline issue. I had no access to any book in the library while off line now they fixed the issue thanks

Arts roll digital library. Great app- does what it says. I have vision problems and I can read this better than the large bound volumes. It's has a brightly lit background. English fonts can 250 per cent and the loshen kodesh page an be enlarged like iPad web pages. It's easier to follow a shiur w this app than a printed Gomorrah. It's easier to take your iPad than schlep the hard print edition. Also their customer serif ice resolves any issue to your satisfaction usually the same day

Nice. Thank you translation in Hebrew to English it is very good, but it's shame that not mentioned in the God name only the Shechem יהוה😀. Thank you

Love on iPad would be great to have Mac app.. It is great to have the Artscroll library on my iPad. It would be great to have a Mac app to be able to study using my 27-inch monitors for easier reading and research.

Too Expensive For What You Get!. In general I believe that Artscroll is overpriced. So take what I say with a grain of salt. That being said, I went and purchased a volume (Makkos) because my son is learning it in Yeshiva and I want him to be able to get ready for the upcoming school year while we are away on vacation. My first complaint is that while they managed to keep in EVERY dedication page and EVERY Haskama page and all the other non Torah material, they seemed to have left out the actual introduction section which gives an outline of what to expect in the Mesechta. It is referenced to on Daf 2a but nowhere to be found. Seems kind of sloppy to me. Also program crashed a few to times in the first 5 minutes. My recommendation? Wait until they work out the bugs and actually review all the material that is supposed to be in there. In the mean time you can download ובלכתך בדרך and their HUGE library for FREE. If you really need the English get the Italmud for a fraction of the cost (and you don't have to deal with Artscroll kissing up to all their donors by putting in endless pages of dedications for them ad nauseum).

Needs major overhaul.. Content is great but needs major change. It’s very slow and glitchy. Looks and feels 10 years old. Artscroll support answered me months later, and their response had nothing to do with my problem. Artscroll pls invest more resources. Especially if we spend over 1k for this content.

Great design but could be faster. This is the best siddur app I've used and I'm glad I "splurged" to buy it to replace my free ones, but it takes a long time to load every time I open it and the scrolling is very choppy, making a bit challenging to follow when I'm reading longer sections. Anything to speed it up would be appreciated (iPhone 6 user).

Great Update for iPhone. Artscroll is listening...running smoother and faster....you can actually read it clearly from your phone....tech support is first class. BTW, the introductory price of 6.99 was for one month subscription, which you would lose after the month. The current monthly purchase stays on your device.

Very poor, and costly. I have not written an iTunes review ever, but this app has made me. Crashes - The application crashes, and occasionally doesn't show any text at all. I constantly have to close the app and restart it, especially when learning along with a shiur from iTunes. Elucidation - The notes that normally appear at the bottom of a daf in artscroll are really helpful, but occasionally disappear in this app. I have to go to the full Hebrew daf and highlight lines to get the elucidation. But when the elucidation pops up, it sometimes blocks the Rashi. Poor. Slow - When I try to turn the page, which I can do by simply swiping my finger like I can do in iBooks, it is terribly slow. Additional Content - This is nothing new. If you have the Gemara in print, there is no need for this app. For one, I am going to wait for the Koren app. I will say that I am happy that I didn't buy this app. I tried the free sample, and I can safely say that I will not buy anything from Artscroll in iTunes until there are serious upgrades to the software.

Great Siddur!. The Wasserman Siddur has combined the Artscroll Siddur's familiarity and accepted text and translation with Rusty Brick's amazing internet innovations for all manner of conveniences that assist one's praying. The only possible complaint could be that it has too much! But it does not feel cumbersome because of the ease of control to glide from one prayer section to the next and to split a page for side-by-side interlocked Hebrew and English texts. If the Anshei K'nessess Hagadol (compilers of our prayers) could see this fantastic siddur, they would kvell!

Great start but needs lots of work. Love it but needs to be updates ASAP, it’s very slow and very outdated.

Needs a lot of Work.. I listen to audio shiurim on my iPad while I read along on the daf. Sometimes I pause the shiur in order to clarify a point or to absorb what the magid shiur has said. Each time you come out of this Artscroll app and enter it again, the 2 title screens are displayed which lasts ~10sec. This might not sound like much time, but there it is hard to keep you concentration on the shiur with the constant redisplay of the title screens. There is no way to restart the shirum and quickly return to the app to continue reading along. There are also many bugs in the app. For example, when viewing the Hebrew daf, if you do a look hold down of your finger, the app sometimes shows you the English translation in a balloon and other times switches to the only English view.

It's good. It's very good, and will only get better as they update it.

Sorry. Sorry to do this, but the books have disappeared again. Until this major problem is sorted out I suggest procrastinating. I've spent hours trying to get it to work and it doesn't.

Excellent. Excellent features. Little slow, but I'm sure it'll get better.

Needs a lot of work. This app isn’t very user friendly. It randomly switches from Hebrew to English, then the bar to change the language will disappear. When you click page numbers it just says ‘page 0’ multiple times, so you have to manually count down to try and get the right page. It’s difficult to get to tfillah like asher yatzer and elokai as when you press next in morning blessings it will just skip ahead to the next section. The highlighting function is also too sensitive. When trying to scroll up and down or change pages it highlights constantly. It’s a convenient app, but doesn’t work well most of the time.

Artscroll Gemarah to go. This is the reason that the iPad evolved!!! This brilliant app puts the Artscroll ש"ס at your fingers - literally. No need to look at the English side for those strange words or that פסוק in ישעיה - thanks to popups the same finger on the גמרה can bring it up without moving your eyes - no need to keep finding the place on the other side. Also רש"י and תוספות (and anything else you want - set it in the prefs) will highlight with the appropriate גמרה - and if you want to see it in non רש"י script it's already there for you in the popup. The future holds the promise of hyperlinks - תוספות to their references, links to the רמבם, ש"ע and more. What the גדולים could do in their heads will be available to everyone. No need to take heavy volumes on vacation, in the car - it's all with you in the iPad (also siddur, chumash, nach and anything else you might need - see Rusty Brick and others) Spiritualize your iPad - now!

What a Kiddush HaShem. This is truly a Kiddush HaShem. I am a huge Artscroll fan and a Rusty Brick fan. The two companies have put together one of the greatest Torah applications. I travel a lot and now all I have to carry is my iPad. This app is built for all level of users. I listen to a magid shir through iTunes while following the gemara in this app. Brilliant!

A very good start. A very good start. The app has had some minor bugs starting out and the developer has worked quickly to release updates to fix the issues. I really enjoy learning with the app over the printed ArtScroll gemoras. The only issue is obviously shabbos and yom tov. It would be excellent if you could download and print out the dafim that correspond to shabbos and yom tov.

THIS APP WOWS !. A fabulous app that can solve a lot of concentration problems. I have done an extensive research in this area. Use highlighting and colour coding. If your mind wanders away, the app will keep your finger inside your gemara. Well worth the price! I was waiting for this app all my life! Constantly being updated. Real good customer service, suggestions are welcome. TOP NOTCH GUYS! Keep doing a great job!!!!

Best app ever. I use this app more than any other. The updates are great, and when there is a sale, wow, jump at it. Waiting for the Tanak to come out! It's a tough choice between the awesome search function, and the hyperlink functionality, as to which is the best feature. You gotta love having the ArtScroll Talmud at your fingertip! Greatest app ever.

Dafyomiaddict. Great update! The app just keeps getting better and better and now I can even have Kitzur Shulchan Aruch and Mesillas Yesharim on my devices!! I travel a lot and I can't tell you how amazing it is to be able to always have sefarim available to learn! A huge Yasher Koach to Artscroll, and I look forward to new releases in the future!

Good and getting better. I have all shas, plus other books installed, it works nice and smooth, it's a pleasure to use. Sidduer/ Tehilim update is awesome Thanks!

Very Well Done!. I am impressed at such a well done implementation of the famous Artscroll Talmud into a mobile platform. There are many features that are enhancements to even the hard copy version. Highly recommended and easy to use. Todah Rabah!!

Crashes while you watch your money go down the drain. Multivolume load didn't work on my iPad. Had to download each of the 73 Talmud volumes one at a time which took hours. Now it crashes all the time. Give it a pass until they get the bugs out. Otherwise it's really pretty good but a waste of money right now.

Sample doesn't work. If I am not satisfied with the sample because it doesnt work, and it's free, אל אחת כמה וכמה that I wont be happy when I actually pay and it doesn't work. Please fix so I can see it before giving you my unrefundable money

No longer opens. Since the latest update, the app starts to initialize then quits on an iPhone 5. It doesn't ever open, so it is completely worthless. Please fix this because this is one of my go-to apps!

V4.0.4.1 scrolling very hard to use. The change in scrolling in the latest release makes the iPad version very hard to use. Previously, the screen showed two columns, with text flow from one to the other, then the screen scrolled right/left. Now the screen shows a window on a fraction of two long columns and you scroll vertically. - the text on the screen at any one time shows two columns that are unrelated to each other. I can't understand how this is useful at all, just a guaranteed loss of screen real estate. - at the bottom of the page you have to page all the way up just to follow the text, meanwhile, the Rav is 3 lines further on by the time you get there. One column would be fine. What you had before was useable Two columns with text flow between them and a vertical scroll would also work.

Superb App!. Wow! This app is really superb! One can see that much hard work was put in to make it really user friendly. The many features included really enhance the learning experience.

Updated version. Truly a wonderful app which will increase the amount of Torah being studied. Some nitpicking: 1. Please get rid of the obnoxious Internet warning. We've seen it once - that's enough! 2. When using the table of contents to go to the daf hayomi, the volume cover page is displayed. This is annoying. I don't need to be reminded that I'm using the Artscroll app - and it delays getting to the daf. 3. The notes doesn't always open on the right page. Although the correct note is highlighted you need to move to the page.

Wow! amazing. This is by far the greatest app I have ever used. In one night, I was able to understand the Talmud more clearly than I have in my 6 years of Talmud study! Thank you ArtScroll for this amazing app!

Truely amaizing. Rusty Brick have once again produced an incredible app. Don't forget this is verison 1. It will only get even better. $10 per month is nothing compared to the work that goes into to producing an app like this.

Needs improvement and more reasonable pricing. Ditto to everything Samuel Skaist said above. Covered everything I had a problem with. Such a mistake with the pricing! Fix the blank page on restart, get rid of sponsor page add bookmark, notes, and lower price. All obvious suggestions. Price per book should be $4.99 at most. Why make current customers feel ripped off. Bad business decisions there. Geez...

Needs work. Very slow to open The notes get cut off when they wrap to next column Great job but needs getting used to it Text

Horrible. I figured that even though this was just updated, there would already be some 5-star reviews. This is horrible. It's supposed to be an app for Talmud study, but it's actually more like a video game. Tap anywhere in the Hebrew text page and see what ends up highlighted in some other part of the page. When you tap, an English translation of a line or two might pop up, but then, again, it might not.

Awesome !!!!!!!!. This app is awesome!! It gives me the ability to learn even when I'm not in a place that I can find a Gemara . The recently added feature of color coding the Gemara breaking it up has increased my ability to learn on my own. Keep up the great work of helping people learn.

Pricey. Too expensive. Especially if you want to purchase the entire shas. And I don't understand how artscroll originally was doing the daf subscription for $6.99 a month and then within a few weeks of releasing the app they raised it to $9.99 a month. If they would've kept it at $6.99 I'm sure much more people would purchased it including myself.

Crashes but cool!. It doesn't work. Also, dedication page is annoying every time I try to start app. Deleted and reinstalled. Really what I am looking for, but minus all the dedications. Keep them, of course, but put in an About menu, much better!

How can a new release fail to load. Is there no QA happening on the artscroll app? Complete failure to load as of new update. Now I lose my day's learning because I'm reliant on artscroll's attention to detail. It seems that this is detrimental to artscroll's general and well established zchus.

Color coding is useful. This is great, color coding is a really nice feature. It is similar to the method that my first gemara rebbe taught gemara.

Artscroll knows how to get it done!!. As I predicted before, the bugs will get fixed and now they are! I have been using this app every day since it was out and have nothing to complain about. Can't wait for the future updates! Kudos to the entire Artscroll team!!!

A Masterpiece App. So much effort has gone into making digital learning so enjoyable. It is literally like having a well versed chavrusa. The layout of the tools augment the visual beauty of this masterpiece of an app. B"H.

Good, glitchy.. It's got all the content we've come expect from Artscroll, however this App is glitchy and not smooth at all. I'm sure they'll update the App and make this thing awesome.

Love the App.. Love the app so far. I can't wait to see what's next. One feature I would like in a future version is a bookmark functionality that will allow me to track my location in various volumes.

Wow!. This is amazing. Could use some work on the navigation side but still - wow - please keep developing it.

Suggestion. This app is is better then a dream come true. All I lack is the capability of having access to an on board dictionary for those big words.

Awesome update. Keep it up! This update has made an awesome app even awesomer (don't think that's a word) - and the color coding is out of this world! The 3d images are also super cool, plus all the great features which were in this previous version = 5 star app

Has potential, but it is a terrible app!. It loads very, very slowly. Switching between sections of the siddur is very, very slow. It used to have text fonts you could scale to your eyesight, but when Apple upgraded the iOS months ago it stopped working. ArtScroll said it was Apple's fault and months later still has nit fixed it. Customer service ignores complaints. Do not buy ArtScroll anything! Time to take a stand!

B"H - excellent app. With a few changes here and there, this app will be perfect. As it is now, this app is a blessing and takes our study group to a whole new level. Thank you, thank you!

Revolutionary indeed.. Whatever the pros and cons are but seriously this is what the new generation and current ones really need! I wish Artscroll much Hatzlocha with more that will come their way.

Control of pages. I like the app. I have difficulty controlling/scrolling through the Siddur moving the pages with my finger is "choppy". Thanx.

It still CRASHES!. This version does nothing but crash. Please fix it. Never had a problem till I entered the beta program.

Amazing. Amazing Search function works well We need Mishnah too

Best update. You can see they are listening to the feedback, a lot of fixes but most importantly now we can see the potential of this platform with search capability and highlight clickable text. I hope you keep improving and adding more features

Great idea! Although Very expensive and doesn't always work. Thank you for undertaking this project, it is very convenient. I am able to learn anywhere and can jump from book to book to look up anything I need so I don't have to carry all books with me. I get too many errors, just installed it from scratch and when I start the app I get an error unable to configure. Please fix the bugs Thank you again!

Font size choices don't seem to work. The font size settings don't seem to work which makes eye strain an insurmountable problem. I wish that were fixed. What's the point of offering font sizes if the font size doesn't change to the chosen size?

ui upgrades that would be nice. To make this app 5 star imo there are some tweaks required. #1 there has to be an option to freeze the hebrew page so moving my finger will highlight the correct area without moving my pages #2 the highlighting is offline and doesn't show up that much , you should instead of highlighting light up the text that corresponds and black out the rest of the english page? #3 swipe to change pages is a must! #4 how do you change between viewing notes on the page?

Unbalievable. My best app thanks a lot guys keep up the great work

Cost is, excuse me, excessive. $12 per month subscription. The entire daf yomi will take 89 months. That's $1068 total. Or the entire shas at $17 per volume for $1241. Both options plus sales tax. This, for an iPad app. How about this as an idea - if you already have purchased the full shas and it's sitting on your shelf (73 volumes) at a cost of nearly $2000 then why not reward the purchaser with a free or highly discounted iPad version?

Nice Looking App but Painful to purchase Shas. It is a runaround to purchase the entire Shas. The process is incongruent with the iPad experience. Please implement a more streamlined process. I do understand the price far exceeds that of mere mortal apps. But still....

NO MORE SPLASH SCREENS!!!!!!!. The app is amazing. Truly. The incessant sponsor and Internet warning screens are intolerable. Warn me once, fine. Once a month, fine. Every day? Multiple times? Enough.

pricing. בס״ד This app is beautiful, like most Artscroll presentations, but why not lower the price for the poor instead of milking the market for all it can bear?

One of the worst apps I have ever downloaded. Overpriced, slow garbage is the only way to describe this app. Instead of reimagining what the study of Gemara (Talmud) could be on an iPad, artscroll literally took their overly heavy books and stuck them on my iPad unchanged. The only question is why didn't they just put out ebooks. That would probably have been more usable. Anyone who downloads this app should check the free sample before paying for anything so you are not mightily disappointed.

So disappointing. Whoever created this app is not an iPad user. Compare it to the Kindle app. In the Kindle app, you can use your finger to swipe and turn the page. In the Artscroll app, forget it. In the Kindle app, the text is bright and sharp. In the Artscroll app, even on my iPad HD, the text is not clear. Artscroll rushed this one. It's not ready for prime time. It's a great idea but they sure blew this one.

Lots of promise but still buggy. Updating my review for version 1.4, now on an iPad 4: Still crashes. On an ipad-2 with version 1.3 of the app, after 15 minutes I found a bunch of bugs: - the app crashed a few times. - looking at the Vilna Hebrew daf only, the popup translations come up a few seconds before the phrase is highlighted in the daf. Confusing. - looking at the free-flowing text, the popup translations don't come up near the corresponding phrase in the Gemara. - it needs a setting to permanently hide the acknowledgments and other front-matter. I already have 72 printed volumes with the acknowledgments. - it needs nikudos in the rashi and tosophos. - it is too expensive.

Latest version crashes. The latest version crashes on start up!

The Perpetual Talmud. The ArtScroll Mesorah Series of Scholarly works of Torah is nothing less then a monumental under taking. With the digital edition of the Talmud, ArtScroll has broken new ground in many ways. Not the least of which is their continued updates to the content. Reinforcing the nature of the ongoing depth that is contained in the Talmud.

Terrific app. If I could give the app three more stars I would. I find that it easier to learn Gemara than with the printed version. Now find a way for the Rabbies to OK using it on Shabbat . Congratulation on a job well done .

Really Loving this. Brother told me about it. Quickly got it. Great great platform. A tiny bit glitchy bit everything works fine. Some features I'd love to see -bookmark / notation ability. -more commentary... -page swipe -bookmark page Otherwise the ability to touch a section and have translation and explanation is great...trying to figure it out is always the fun but it helps keep you from getting discouraged. Def would recommend.

There's a huge bug in this app. This is an awesome app, I was using everyday for daf yomi. All of the sudden, it won't open anymore... So, now, I'm paying a subscription to daf yomi, and not being able to open it at all; very sad..

Fabulous for Daf Yomi. I used this even at the North Pole. It couldn't be easier.
