Great app with one really big exception. I use this app frequently to monitor my portfolio when I’m on the road, and find it extremely easy to use and navigate. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the one big issue with caching. I now have to shut it down then launch the app again in order to clear the cache and see the most up to date prices before buying or selling stocks. I contacted tech support on several occasions regarding this issue because it has cost me tens of thousands of dollars in the past. Their first recommendation to delete and reinstall the app caused me to lose my entire (local) watch list. When that didn’t work, they advised me to periodically shut down the app and relaunch. This approach seems to solve the caching issue, but I’m not sure it’s a good solution because I might one day forget and make another bad buy/sell decision based on outdated information. Ordinarily, I don’t write reviews, and would prefer to applaud good products and services rather than complain about bad ones. This issue is a biggie if you have a fairly substantial portfolio, and needs to be addressed at the root cause. I also have accounts at a few other brokerages, and while their apps don’t exhibit this problem, I find that they pale in comparison with TD Ameritrade’s app, so I really hope they fix it once and for all so I can rate them 5 stars.

Nice Platform Overall. For the most part, I find the mobile platform easy to use, and especially like how the dashboard allows me a view of what’s happening in my positions and account in general. It’s a bit tricky finding how to get to the Options that I want to buy to open, sell to close, sell to open and buy to close. I can’t give it four (4) or five (5) stars because I’m annoyed that once my login credentials are accepted and I’m in, I feel that should be enough so I can work in my account. But No! Every single trade, whether it’s to buy or sell that fast moving stock, or option, I am REQUIRED to re-Enter my F’ing password! Now, if I was an idiot and used a simple “easy to guess” password then I might justify this inconvenience, but I have an extremely difficult password and, by the time I’ve entered my password to buy, for example, the ideal entry price has gone! Needless to say it has cost me a lot of money not gained because of this! Developers, get your butts in gear and rectify this! Update: The developers still have not made it any easier to allow me to make a more timely buy or sell on this app. And because I refuse to compromise my account be creating Mickey Mouse passwords that can be easily cracked, I’m reducing my stars for this app to 2.

Security Flaw & usability problem. The App sometimes (not always) does NOT automatically log you out after even many hours of non-activity. This poses a major security risk, if you forget to log out, which can easily happen when you're interrupted by a phone call, a text message, an email, an internet search, or a friend, family member, or colleague demanding your attention. Were you to then lend your device to someone, or misplace or lose it, anyone could access the info in, trade on, or transfer money out of, your account. Please fix this major security risk! Please provide an option to automatically log out after, say, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes of inactivity. Thanks! Second, the daily change in value of account balance and positions resets to zero way too early. Some of us like to check how our account balance and/or positions did really late (often in early morning before the market opens), but the app resets many of the daily balance or positions changes to zero way before the next day's market opens. That makes the daily change info we see utterly useless! Please revise app so that it does not reset this daily change data until the market reopens! Thanks!

Mid-March 2019 update ruined it. Completely ransacked a user friendly interface and replaced it with an almost “excel spreadsheet” like format. The former “condensed” view has been removed. Formerly I could see 5 columns of the important info needed for trading decision (ticker, bid/ask, last, change—change column could be tapped to show volume and % change and was color coded) and 11 rows of stocks before having to swiping. Now there is 8 rows of stock per screen and 4 columns with tons of white space. The condensed view made it easy to follow an extended watchlist and make quick trading decisions. I am befuddled as to who they consulted for this “update”. I have traded millions through the app and now it will become more difficult or frustrating. Where are they getting these ideas??? Also, to change your watch list it use to reflect a list, now they have this stupid “drum” like scroll view—really? I WILL be looking at the other trading platforms out there, hopefully someone can give me the important data in a concise format and not this garbage from likely thrown together from someone who has never really used the app or doesn’t understand how the old view was useful to actually trading stock.

Works Great For Me. TDA’s broker services are consistently on the top of the list. The app is great and easy to navigate and you get free level II data. The other broker I use frequently sends me in-app notifications about opting into options trading but TDA doesn’t give me any notifications but trade confirmations. For OTC Pink Sheet trades there is a $6.95 fee, whether you make the trade in the app or via your web browser - my issues is that it doesn’t show the fee in the app. I tried to buy shares with my entire cash balance and even though it showed me the “estimated total” was within what I had for money, it told me I didn’t have the funds for that. I lowered the amount I was looking to buy a little and it went through. I’m not mad about it, it’s in the terms and conditions I agreed to and most brokers do charge for OTC trading - I just think they need to do a better job showing the fee. Some fees for OTC are cheaper than TDA with other brokers but I still think they’re the best overall.

TD Ameritrade was good for this beginner. When the market started to dip after the pandemic began, I began to research how to get into stock trading. I knew next to nothing. With a recommendation from my father-in-law, who had used Scotttrade previously, I downloaded the app. He said that after Scotttrade changed to TD Ameritrade, the new app and features were better and easier to use. He recommended that it was good for a beginner like me. He was absolutely right. I really enjoyed the educational videos which I viewed prior to moving any funds into my account. I signed up and registered to trade in the Scwab app, BUT TD Ameritrade’s app was much more user-friendly for someone with my lack of experience and understanding. I highly recommend TD Ameritrade’s main app, but I am not as fond of their companion app, thinkorswim. Nevertheless, TD Ameritrade’s app was my right choice in learning to buy and sell shares. After I deposited funds, I was nervous for a few days how things worked and if it were all a scam. But I purchased my first 100 shares pain-free, and I felt really comfortable with the process. In a few weeks, I sold and purchased more stock, and now I feel quite competent. This app and company gets a high recommendation from me.

Easiest & best stock market app…ever. I knew nothing about the stock market but my son did and tell me about certain stocks I should buy and he also told me about TD Ameritrade App, so I downloaded and create an TD account and it is so user-friendly: there is no buy-in $ amount needed in order to open an account, it’s easy to deposit funds into your account or buy/sell stocks, see how your portfolio did on any day or you receive reports on stocks you own and they give you a forecast of the company you invested in & its future; also your dividends can reinvested if that’s what you choose and everything is written out in layman terms and makes it easy for me to understand where my money is and if it’s vern a good day or bad on Wall St. but again I cannot stress enough that the App is clear & concise in layman terms and also you are assigned a broker if the need arises where you need to talk to a professional and the company has a reputation on the street as being a solid company. I am an older American who only recently started, but I have built a nice little portfolio, whereas my son who is in his 20s, will hopefully have a nice nest egg waiting for him when he reaches my age.

No record of purchase dates or investment lots. IF YOUR STRATEGY INCLUDES LOTS - BEWARE I previously used E*TRADE (much better) and was shopping different brokerages due to my employer restricting the use of E*TRADE. I did my due diligence and called each brokerage’s customer service to ask about online/mobile features that I required for my investment strategies. One is the ability to view and sell investment lots, which is a huge facet of my investment strategy (buying an asset in smaller batches of shares at different cost prices, and selling the batches separately). With my old brokerage portfolio (E*TRADE), I could expand each asset to see history of dates & shares purchased (lots), with all of the reporting metrics for each lot. You can also sell an individual lot there. I called TD before I switched brokerages to confirm and they told me it would be the same. THEY LIED. I found out after a week-long process (and week long investing freeze) to transfer my entire portfolio over. Now I am stuck until I can afford to go back through the freeze process for another week to transfer to another brokerage. I am very unhappy about the time spent and money lost from all of this. BEWARE!!!!!!

I love the app but there are known issues. Let me start off by saying I love the ui and feel of this app; adding funds, creating watchlists, catching up on market news, executing trades; all easy and accessible via the tap of an icon located at the bottom of my screen. Customer service is not hard to get a hold of if I need anything. TD Ameritrade has easily become my favorite app for trading and keeping track of market performance in general. It’s crazy to think that it’s almost made my desktop obsolete. However, this app has a huge issue; I’ve experienced WAY too many instances of the app crashing on or right before market open. This is unforgivable. Imagine opening the app, being on a jump login screen with the inability to login on a big market opening day—this has actually cost me hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars. Highly disappointing and inexcusable. There are several blogs and websites dedicated to this experience, which I was mind blown to discover. I called customer service and there was literally nothing they offered to do to help. Very concerning and I hope TD works on having reliable servers to handle the traffic this app experiences during a very volatile market. Also, it would be great to see when my money will clear. Simple but very important information. Fingers crossed.

Strengths & Weaknesses. I typically use this app several times a day to trade stocks, options, and a few mutual funds. I like the ease with which I can enter and check on orders, including revising and replacing them. High marks on this. Easy access to multiple accounts: regular brokerage, Roth & traditional IRAs is also excellent. There’s room for improvement on access to stock research. Research offerings have been reduced since the Schwab acquisition. (Analysis from Credit Suisse was removed). The research available is overweighted towards stock technicals than company fundamentals in my view. For months there have been issues even getting some research report documents to even load, although that situation appears to have improved. Finally, the display of (pdf) documents from one research source doesn’t work right. Blocks of content visible on a computer monitor are hidden by other blocks of content. It took a couple of tries to even get TDA tech support to acknowledge this issue. Their app vendor is putatively working on it, but it’s been a few months on that too. C- for this part. Overall, a strong B.

Fast, Easy to use, Powerful mobile app. I’ve been using this app for 10 years. It has improved every year. Clean interface, effective, customizable—add column headings for many different categories, such as int. rate, exp. date, div date, delta, theta, gamma, etc. If you are an options trader, check out TOS Mobile, but keep this app on your phone, because it works better over slow mobile connections. Trades are executed quickly, and with zero commissions, how can you beat it? News feed and education sections are nice, and you can quickly drill down to see the fundamentals of your potential holdings. Calendar section allows you to see the important events coming up (earnings, ex-div dates, payroll announcements, etc) add them to your calendar. All in all, very satisfied with this app. Only thing I would make better is make the news feed update more quickly. A couple weeks ago, the market was dropping fast, and I couldn’t figure out why...turns out it was a Presidential tweet. Maybe I need to get Twitter. Oh, and tech support is awesome. I had to contact them when an update made the columns too small, and they fixed it within a couple of days. Customer support is available via chat, email or phone right from the app, and it is equally fast and awesome. Get the app, you will love it!

The easiest way to buy and sell stocks!. This app is the cat’s meow, there’s no two ways about it. I make my living in my work boots and hard hat, and this is worlds better than a broker bending your ear trying to sell you on things he’s paid to get rid of. I do my own research, they give you the latest news on your positions, so you’re not caught with your pants down and stuck holding the bag. You know in real time when things are moving and why, and buying and selling is as easy as ordering things online. How many shares, at what price, and when do you want to make the buy. Selling is just as easy, it’s all very straightforward and simple. Don’t wait for the stars to align, your ship to come in, or your rich uncle to pass on; just download the app, create an account, link it to your checking account, and fund your first buy! Nobody owns your finances but you, take the reins and get started, it’s the best thing you can do to secure your future.

Needs Better Documentation. Overall I like this app better than the other TD Ameritrade apps. However, making some of the trades is misleading and the documentation online isn’t clear on exactly how to fill in fields. For example, today I setup a STOP LIMIT order to sell if the price drops below $110. I check midday and the price was $89 and the limit never hit. Clearly I setup something wrong, but I followed the steps online to set the LIMIT and the STP. This ultimately cost me over $4500. At least I checked it before it dropped lower. But I am not sure how the documentation matches a real world example. Either that or the app should provide an example of if it sells for LIMIT you get $XXX or STP gets $XXX. Other than that, the app is great. The only other thing I would improve is there is a lot of flipping back and forth between screens. There needs to be an choice to select history for a position so I can see what I bought it for, when I added more shares, and how much my running total is. Ideally from there I would be able to reduce a position and sell (for example) 25 shares that I bought at $10 if I bought 50 at $10 and 50 at $5. But the system usually guesses the shares to sell logically.

Two steps backwards. This most recent update has taken what was once a clean layout with a clear and concise display of balances and positions and unnecessarily jumbled it into its current look. Previously I could glance at my account balance tab and see almost all if not all the information without scrolling up or down. Now, in order to see the same information I have to scroll up and down 3 whole windows worth to see what was previously visible at a glance. This is an investment app where number need to be clear and concise, there is no reason each row of information needs to be so tall as to exclude other rows from the same window. On the same issue there is no need for the tabs and headers at the top of each page to be as blocky and obstructive as they are, nor for the dashboard to be cluttered with unnecessary banners and news releases, these again take away from the ease of use of quickly and accurately discerning data. I hope TD will take note and fix these issues, these are they types of poorly thought out updates I expect from a rushed social media app release, not from a company that I trust with the majority of my investment.

Data refresh... The latest version of TDA-Mobile a great traders app.... except data refresh “should” be better. While on watch list screen total account value will not refresh on its own. Also Some stocks do not keep a constant real- time values. “Last traded price.” Update:: It looks like you have fixed the data refresh now seems to be very quick almost seamless good job!!! Same thing occurs on account positions screen. Switching between screens seams to do the refresh...something that shouldn’t need be done!! Bottom line though this app is outstanding it is very mobile just drove clear across the south west US Monitoring option trades all the while. I’ve traded for many years and for the most part use nothing but TD Ameritrade Mobile trading platform ...excellent Recent data update refresh is working great I can’t find any other faults. “A new note”, I’ve just been trying out JPMorgans mobile trading app..it is so archaic compared to TDA mobile … like night & day.

Great Brokerage App With A Few Quirks. TD Ameritrade is my go to brokerage for most investing due to their non-existent fees, great education system, and broad range of assets. However, their app doesn’t necessarily show off how great the brokerage is overall. The app’s interface is a bit clunky and is definitely confusing for those new to investing. It also does a pretty poor job of explaining things to users. The overall clunkiness can best be seen by the fact that you have to jump through 3-4 menus to see open and filled orders. Additionally, TD Ameritrade’s great education system can hardly be accessed through this app. You only get access to a few videos. In order to get full usage out of this brokerage service and their education system you really need to access the website through a computer otherwise you’re getting a watered down product. The fact that the news is front and center instead of hidden in a different tab is a breath of fresh air though. Overall this is a great service and a great brokerage, but the app could be made a bit better. Also, don’t open this app expecting any sort of eye catching visuals like other finance apps. This app is barebones in that respect and the only color you’ll see is the green and red of the market. I like that choice though. It makes the app feel more professional.

Mobile Opportunity Offers Independence. As a former U.S. Marine Infantryman who struggles to be out in public and work a job that involves interacting with other people due to injuries during my service, it is encouraging to know I can attempt to work from home, trading. My training has instilled in me a desire and responsibility to be as independent as possible and be a productive and contributing member of a free capitalistic society. Due to my injuries I foresaw a future of dependence on a group of fellow Americans who were happy to compensate me based on my service, but my former training and instinct drives me to continue to grow and be productive in spite of my very limited contact with other people and many hours and days spent alone in my home managing symptoms that can frankly be very confusing and limiting. Your app allows me to quickly view the market, my watchlists, my account and enter and exit trades if I’m away from my computer, and if I were to encounter a power or internet outage this app on a charged mobile device becomes an invaluable tool. The ability to use this app alongside TD Ameritrade’s Think or Swim trading platform adds to that reality of independence and empowerment that is so very valuable and necessary for me to continue to give back as best as I still am able. Thank you for this opportunity; doing what you do and offering your service that includes this app makes a difference in my life these days.

Not Very Useful. The measure of a brokerage service is: does it help you to make money and manage your account. In my opinion, that’s what you pay for. TD Ameritrade falls way short of the mark. Specifically, this is why TD Ameritrade (I’ll call it TD) is below the level of helpfulness that I would expect. Here’s why: 1. TD’s storefronts seem to be profit centers which exist to sell you services. They do not seem to be there to provide assistance. They point you to their call center, which is ok, but I would expect more than a cold reception when I drive there to ask a question. 2. Their online app is difficult to use and you can’t tailor it to your needs. If the designers of the online system held focus group meetings, I think they would be shocked at how users have to work around their clunky system. 3. It’s my experience that TD does the minimum they can to support their clients. Their service is just bad enough to make me want to switch, but minimally good enough to keep me from going to the trouble. I would not recommend TD to a friend.

Confusing site for newbies AMAZING CUST. SERVICE!!!. I am new to the site and trading so I’m only speaking in regards to my experience so far.. I have to say the App/layout is Difficult to use & confusing with no tutorials/useful help available for someone new to trading. Now on the other hand Ameritrade’s technical support is amazing.....! The willingness to help and assistance that you get when you call is outstanding, first class..! The representatives that I have spoken with were patient, very knowledgeable, and just awesome... ! The reason I gave a 3 star rating is because I feel that Ameritrade should make it easier and definitely faster to add funds to your account, I mean with the technology we have today I can sen $$ in a text message from my phone in seconds... I feel it is a bit ridiculous the time it takes and the limited options there are to add funds to your Ameritrade account.... I mean really..! Another thing, I think the IT department should add a beginner tutorial option for how to use the app/site...

Mostly a dud. So this app is one of the best organized I have found. You get news and general information right in the palm of your hand. But I do find it a bit cumbersome to do any research on it. Then it stays well behind the market every day. I find it funny that my banking and credit card apps tell me in seconds if any money has been spent or received yet this app can’t tell me for hours sometimes if a stock price has or is changing. Then if I do want to buy or sell through the app I have to type in my password just to be able to get to the actual buy/sell cart. This takes valuable time and can make the difference in stock gains or losses. I already have to use my fingerprint just to get the app to open so why do I need to re-enter my password each time. Bottom line is this app is only useful for a quick glance at work or on the go- just hope that you don’t really need to use it for anything more than an btw I’ll check on my portfolio. Actually the apple phone stock ticker is way more accurate. So way to go developers for making a pretty app that’s actually useless for what it should be for.

TD Ameritrade app. First off, I would like to say that I do enjoy the large amount of information on the app and the screen. On the flip side though, there is sooo much information on the page that it requires the user to toggle between pages to achieve the information needed to make a sound transaction if buying or selling calls and puts. This is something that has been a major turnoff for me as one who in the past with (Scottrade) exercised the sale of many call contracts. The screens on the mobile app and my main home computer don’t really differ that much from one another. This along with my account rep. at my local branch office NEVER, returning my calls, even after leaving messages that are requesting assistance and the closing of my local branch office have me at a crossroads of whether to stay with TD Ameritrade or find another company that can assist me with my account needs. It has been sometime since the TD Ameritrade/Scottrade buyout and I have tried to be patient and learn the new platforms, ins/outs of TD Ameritrade’s services, but with the lack of support from my local rep. or branch office, we may be at the point of separation. Thanks, Tom B.

TD Ameritrade is incredible. TD Ameritrade app for the phone is incredible. Everything is laid out perfectly and completely user friendly. The dashboard is clean and organized with perfect placement. The charts are great, the watch lists setting are clean, even the stock information page is excellent. I recently got switched over to Charles Schwab and I know thinkorswim hasn’t changed much but their phone application is absolutely horrible in comparison. There is the old expression, “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone” and I want nothing more then to bring back the Ameritrade app. I only wish that the people in charge at Charles Schwab can see the flaws in there terrible platform and simple use the Ameritrade app in its place just change the name. I know I’m not alone in this, I asked the question on a online platforms, (Reddit and Facebook) and the response I got back was intense on how many people feel the same way and hate the Charles Schwab takeover. They’re layout is awful to say the least. I can’t see how someone can even compare the two. If I was in a position to make a decision on which layout stays and which one goes the choice is clear. The people at Charles Schwab should at least offer the option to continue using the application that there customers are use to. If this doesn’t change, I don’t think I will keep my account open much longer with Charles Schwab.

Very functional app. I’ve been using this app since May 2020 and I can say that it meets my needs as a new individual investor. Within the app, it provides the necessary information I need to get a quick idea of how my stocks are doing daily and tracks how they are doing with its history tracking. Buying/selling is easy and straight forward and it keeps a log of your transactions. (Very important for tax season). Benefits are that they send you your tax forms, free thinkorswim program that can really help you search for stocks right for you want at the prices you seek, free training videos to help you understand “what the terms/vocabulary mean, how to use the app and other basic guidance in the trading game”. My personal goals are centered in wealth growth and its easy using the reinvest dividend function that automatically takes my dividends and reinvests into the stocks they came from increasing my shares each quarter. Lastly, they send reminders to me and help be involved in the companies I hold shares with. I get alerts when my investments release their financial documents, take actions that effect my shares and even reminds me of my eligibility to vote on company issues when they occur. I still consider myself a beginner but this app gives me confidence to jump in the investment game.

Always delayed with actual stock/options pricing. Several time I have placed stop limit sell orders that have failed and cost me additional losses or lower profits. Customer service reps, with the exception of Cassandra, are not interested in you or your success. They are all about CYA (TD’s that is). Low knowledge is apparent… Many time I take the time to research a price/options between two platforms. It’s been quite constant to find one price in one platform and higher price in the TD app. I figured it has to be a delay, but it can be just the TD model. Like a gas station pump; the ones with the bright lights and slow pumps. Yeah, so that you have time to go to the store to buy something compulsive. Well, this time is basically the same. My problem is that it cost me both at the purchase or the sale due delayed price change when closing a position. I understand if I pay more TD earns more, but other platforms seem more up to date many times. I hope you, TD, can fix it. Moved trading to Webull and my experience is much better. No commission on option trading and provide thorough info for due diligence.

Dark Mode? U.I. Update?. I like the app, a lot of good things and not a whole lot of bad things but I think there are a few things that are lacking a bit for me. The first is the inaccessible use of dark mode. Waking up at 5 a.m. pst the first thing I like to do for 10 minutes is read through the news. Without dark mode I am blasted with an extreme bright light even on the lowest setting. In my opinion I think a dark mode just like think or swim would greatly benefit this app. Another thing I would like to see is an update U.I. I like that I can customize it but something feels off. For example, I love reading the news as I mentioned earlier but I also like going to the sectors to see what’s up and what’s down. If there was a way I could get certain articles straight from the sectors tab if I clicked on it. Then that would help tremendously. For instance I can go to my news tab for the most up to date news but if I want something more specific to a certain sector then I go to the sectors and click on one which would bring up all news relevant to that sector. Overall I think the app is good but not great. But with the addition of these new features I think it can become even better than it is now. :)

TD Ameritrade. WHEN WILL SCHWAB & TD AMER BE ONE I have been with TD Ameritrade for a very long time. There are many NTF NL Funds plus a universe of investments, educational courses, strategies, and the ability to set up your own criteria platforms to know when to buy or sell are some of the numerous tools available to you. Newsletters are great and other online free subscriptions are available to your investment ideas. All help and subscriptions are free for an account owner. Client Services is super helpful and quick in their response time. In all the years I have been a client, TD Ameritrade never made a mistake. Since merging with Schwab, I hope the universe of NTF NL funds increases, including Schwab funds, in their choices of funds. Hopefully this merger will bring trading fees lower, lower expense ratios for certain funds, bringing our expenses lower as clients of now, a large brokerage company. I hope many of the Schwab policies get added on.

Sometimes has delayed data. I often find near market opening or closing the chart data is inconsistent with actual prices/volume. Volume chart often does not update until late at night after market close or sometimes not until the next day. I try to completely close the app and reopen but the issue persists. Also sometimes the chart candles/lines become duplicated if you keep the app open and lock your device. When you reopen it, the candles will sometimes double or triple. The biggest problem for me is the inconsistency of closing/opening price displayed. Up until this morning the app was showing a closing price that was higher than the actual closing price. The chart randomly updated this morning to show the correct data. Not sure why the inconsistency in chart data but this has to be corrected. I would like to clarify this is usually only after or before normal trading hours. In most cases it corrects itself when the market opens or is about to. Sometimes it will correct itself the night prior. It is quite random. I no longer trust the visual information/charts if it is outside of normal trading hours.

The best trading broker. Hello! I’ve been with TD since 2020 I’m a professional Day-Swing Trader. I haven’t found a broker like Tdameritrade easy to use. Fast execution, reliable, fast withdrawals, fast and helpful customer support, free education. Real time data ! It has everything you need in one platform. I can open different windows, charts, thousands of indicators and I dont even have to pay a membership like tradingview or level2 on webull. Thinkorswim has it all for you for free!!! Everything you need is there. Is my number one and only one broker I tried different brokers and end up cancel all of them and stick to only this one because it has everything for me to succeed in this business. Also trading on mobile and tablet it works great for me. No complaints I only have love for this platform it has helped me to succeed in my trading business.

Mobile App very good but needs to be better. Love the clarity of account info and valuable insight with the research tabs, etcetera. But a few times too many over the course of each quarter the TD Ameritrade servers are overloaded and it takes 20-90 minutes to get through which is highly upsetting at the market opening and you're trying to manage some positions that may have a "falling knife" occurring! And what recourse is there other than to call Customer Service to complain and threaten to move accounts to another Brokerage. I've had to ask for some free trades to offset this. They were not offering anything but an apology. The company needs to invest in more infrastructure so they would not be a problem like this in the future. I would really want to see 0 or <=1 instance lasting less than 10 minutes per quarter going forward. I hope this Review gets the attention it deserves or the company could start losing tens of thousands of accounts.

Scottrade Transplant. I had Scottrade mostly because my name is Scott and it seemed the natural way to go. Theirs was an easy system; $7 in, $7 out,so go up 14 bucks to break even. When S.Trade got sponged up by A.Trade, I was absorbed in the bargain. T.D. Ameritrade seems at least similar and it has been working well for me. The app works well and has been meeting all my needs. Update: A few years ago I began trading on a different platform for free with some exceptions. I had a few stocks left in Ameritrade and was gradually phasing it out. When Ameritrade is switched to a similar system, free with exceptions, I had no more reason to phase it out. Ameritrade has a good reputation and is completely reliable. The one complaint I have is that it takes so long to access my money for trading after I have sold my stock. It would be nice if there was access to my money for trading purposes. immediately after a sale. Often times I see an opportunity, but cannot take advantage of it because I have to wait until the funds are settled. The same is true with deposits there is no system in place whereby I make a deposit and part of it will become available for trading immediately.

NEVER functions on busy days - extremely slow. If you have done all your analysis and are prepared to be nimble as market is approaching an inflection point, you better have all your trades and stopps placed before any big move happens. If there is even a hint of a major pullback or a bottom, the TD system will freeze like a glacier. They really screw their customers this way as it’s all a matter of bandwidth for the amount of customers- tech capacity etc. but they just don’t care. When you try to call they pretend this has never happened or that it’s really “ strange as I have not heard this”. On slow, boring market days when the indexs are barely moving, it works awesome. But, on that day with major market movement when you can make a ton of money, you will be mistaken to think you can trade quickly. Try 5 or 10 at a time for one trade. It will freeze like Cindy Brady on a kids game show and give you the “system not available at this time. They need to put that in their advertising-would be nice if they could fix this. They could advertise and probably make more money by extolling the virtuous trade speed, but why do that, the customer would then benefit.

New Trader. TD Ameritrade has made (what I thought was an opportunity open only to certain individuals) but a long sought after profit potential that my Parents kept telling me to avoid. When the COVID-19 Pandemic struck however and my newly acquired certification for passing EMT course, I only had to sit for my NREMT cognitive exam but testing centers around the state shut down. My current job as a Physical Therapy Technician is only PRN (meaning whenever I am needed) On avg. it’s fair to say that until the summer months when children do stupid things becoming injured, the majority of Physical Therapy Clientele are <65 years of age. (They were frightened & wouldn’t leave their Homes) No one knew the transmission rate of this “invisible assassin!” When COVID was at its height, the PT Company I’m employed for was losing more than $5,000,000/wk in avg. sales...so I wasn’t getting called for hours (being PRN)... I had to supplement, so I sat down with my Father and asked Him for a final time; “Can You please assist me in setting up an online trading account?—now I’m addicted to it! Just two weeks ago, when I heard of the AAPL 4:1 Split, I invested in 25 shares. To know on the 31st that will turn into 100 AAPL Shares (at a lower value) but I’m confident will rebound to me is AMAZING!

Annual Tax Reporting. I have enjoyed using their tool. However, there are a couple of serious deficiency issues with TDA’s tax reporting and beginning basis issues: 1. They never seem to get the 1099 tax reporting done right and done right first time. It has become their norm to just send out a Correction every year. Very frustrating. Case in point: 2020’s 1099 was issued mid-February, and the Corrected 1099 came out a week later. 2019 the same thing except the Corrected 1099 came out much later and I had to file an amended return. Terrible reporting service. 2. Their system does not manage inbound asset transfers from outside systems. It also does not manage asset transfers between TDAmeritrade accounts. I have several equity management accounts with TDA. They refuse to post the correct original purchase prices of assets. Instead, they post $0. So, when I sold some of my equities, they reported $0 basis value to the IRS, and now I am in the middle of a tax year 2018 IRS audit... thanks to TD Ameritrades terrible tax reporting system. I would not recommend their product to active traders and traders who want to transfer assets to their system. And, I definitely would not recommend opening up multiple accounts and transfer any assets between the accounts... unless you enjoy IRS audits.

Great in the past, service has slipped. I have both a self directed account with my HSA and a regular investment account through TD for 2 years and have been very pleased with the service and ease of use. So much so that I recently decided to open an individual 401k through them, and it has been a nightmare. I have called, sent dozens of pages of documents in via the messaging service in their app, and receive no help other than a message that they received my documents and will review and get back to me. It has been over 3 months, and their only response after waiting 30 mins on the phone is to complete the paperwork all over again to reapply (which I did) or that simply the account wasn’t created, with no reason why or help to correct the matter and move forward. I don’t want to start this process over, but am looking to take my $ elsewhere to a company that will value me as a customer and provide good service.

Dark mode, please?. I’m a current Ameritrade client and use the app daily. I also use other charting apps/sites along with it and can easily say that the vast majority of (well at this point, just apps of any and all kinds) - but of “trading” apps support dark mode. It’s available in nearly all competitor apps such as eTrade to Yahoo Finance to TradingView, and the built-in Stock widget. Not to mention all of the crypto apps. Please update the UI of the Ameritrade app and provide a “dark mode” of some sort. I thought it would come with time, however time has come and gone and still no major changes to the app. Even their own more-mobile app, “Think of Swim” offers dark-mode. Personally, I find it to be *much* easier on the eyes. Some people don’t like it, some do. But, looking at adoption rates throughout apps and sites online, I would say that putting in the extra effort to make a dark mode is worth it since it’s (nearly) everywhere now. So please join the party Ameritrade, better late than never - please.

Love the company dislike the app. Been with TD Ameritrade since I jumped into the stock market back in 2006sh always liked the app and all the things it had to offer. Plus, it was always very reliable. As of lately, the info has been lagging and freezing which, when you’re an investor or trader, can lead to you making the wrong move at the wrong time or worse, no move at all. One thing that I have always dislike about the app is, when you’re placing your trade, the pop up to enter your password blocks the trade info. What if somehow you entered the wrong amount? You can’t see the price you entered, as you inout your password and commit to the trade. This always gives me anxiety😦. Please fix this small detail, it just has ti be shifted slightly lower on the screen. I have an iPhone 12 max pro for point of reference. Other than the above mentioned, I love trading with TD Ameritrade, I feel they have their customers growth in mind, when offering their educational and technical information and apps.

Love it but…... In the middle of switching from Webull to TD and as of right now I’m loving everything about it from stock analysis to education videos that they provide. I do most of my trading on my laptop but also use my phone when I happen to be at work. The iOS app is good and all but would like to see Dark mode implemented into the iOS version just like TOS has - that’s the only downfall to it. The brightness kills your eyes. Now that’s not a deal breaker but would recommend it. One of the biggest reasons I switched to TD is so that I can route to the NYSE unlike Webull where it goes straight to Sh*tadel. Add DARK MODE PLEASE!!!!!!!!! The iwatch app is horrible it only works if you have TD open on your phone which at that point might as well just use your phone. Might want to fix it cause other apps for the watch don’t have to open the phone to look.

Thieves in plain sight…. While investing you would like to be sure that your hard working money is taken care of.. so you think! When I started investing with this firm I notice that they would not get back to you right away concerning major issues other then giving you a random answer to call or contact someone else or even point fingers at other individuals for there own mistakes. Mistakes you say ha….! No they play around with your stocks investments and then tell you that they don’t have it yet or they have not received them from the FDIC or from the maker but in true they play around with it make there money and when the price of the stock goes down they appear in your account. A little to late for me to sell because I have lost all the momentum for sell, hey but TD didn’t they did what they had to do right. So who are there number one customer ? Them selfs the institute make money make money. Well the system is rigged and they have the upper hand UNTIL…. Rules and regulations don’t go there way no more. I called customer service so many times and complaint about where my stocks are and they have no clue they tell me to wait 2-3 business days until it goes in my account. I have recorded this calls and they have told me that they will correct it later so I can sell my stocks at the current price it was when I didn’t get them but nothing ever happens…. all I can say know is WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND …

Best stock app I’ve used. I like TDA app- it makes buying/selling securities simple. The app makes it easy for me to look into a particular security to get basic information (charts, dividend yields, news, etc). I easily can see the value of my overall portfolio link multiple external accounts and transfer funds. Again, I like the app’s simplicity and the quick execution of its features. My friend had the TDA app but switched to the Charles Schwab version - he told me that Schwab made him switch to their version (parent company of TDA now). He hates it and wished he wasn’t forced to switch. I looked at the Schwab app, it’s confusing and doesn’t have the same functionality. I hope they don’t make me switch- I might pull my account if they do. I’m an old man and hate when I have to use a platform that’s hard to uses. Anyway the TDA app is fantastic and I wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks for reading.

Really great app!. The ONLY reason why I give this app a 4 star instead of 5 is because it would be even better if this app supported preopening the market at 4:00am like “Webull” does. However, this app is really great. Once you open up an account and set up your details, in around 3 weeks you get your TD bank card because this app is also tied in with a real bank. So as you’re playing the market you also can leave money you haven’t used in your card like a bank. The prices on this app are legit LIVE so everything is precise and current. I like how it does have pre market though so it starts at 7am, then regular stock market hours are from 9-4pm... but Ameritrade pre closes at 8. So you have more time to buy or sell. When it comes to depositing money though, it has to be within regular stock market hours. I used to use the app called “robinhood” because it’s easier to understand for beginners. However, the prices aren’t completely live and it doesn’t have the pre market which would annoy me. I’m glad I found out about this app. It’s pretty good in overall.

Excellent Website & Customer Service. Honestly, I came to TD running away from Robbinhood and I was pleasantly surprised with everything about their whole setup. —Their website is an incredibly rich plethora of information FOR FREE. I am talking videos, Learning Resources, Tutorials, and so much more!!... And although they have long waiting times for their customer service phone line, the associates are super helpful, kind and patient. The app itself is great to navigate, and it offers a ton of information on the go. It is also fantastic it ties onto their trading platform Thinkorswim (see Learning Resources and PaperMoney). I don’t think I’ll ever use a different broker website/app ever again. It feels they help their customers grow and they grow with them, but at the same time they offer the expertise, support and security of a veteran in the business. Great Job! Ten out of five stars.

Not to bad. Ive been with Ameritrade for over a year now . I have been thru a lot including the covid volatility where wait times were Hours and hours but thankfully things got back to normal fast. I have lost a lot of money due to my impulsivity which has always been and issue. I missed out on a lot of money trading that way. But now I only collect stocks and don’t trade them. It’s my new approach and even though this Not the best time to be in the market, I can only hold and hope for the best . Ameritrade customer service is great and there is no way I would continue to be a client without the men and women who answer my questions. Please do not change that aspect of the brokerage as it is totally necessary to help people with real issues that require real people... not bots and links to help topics. So I love Ameritrade for the customer service as well as the fudiciary like handling of special issues that can possibly harm my portfolio. (Selling otc /bb security’s that I was not aware were listed. Thanks Ameritrade I won’t go anywhere else say this point and appreciate your handling of clients. . -mike Mazur

Electronic Delivery. They promote paperless, electronic records. What they don’t mention is that they only provide access to the last 10 years. They say they are only required to provide the last 7 and suggest they are going above and beyond the requirements. Problem is there are times we need information older than 10 years to figure basis for determining long term capital gains. There are also issues with splits, mergers and name changes. I had a Scottrade account which migrated to TDAmeritade. I made inquiries about 4 stocks in my account prior to that change. I was told they had such records and would research them. In a few days I was told they didn’t have any information on any of the stocks. They said maybe they had been deposited into the account: they had not. I subsequently found documentation they had been purchased in the Scottrade account and had not undergone any event such as a name change and the number of shares was the same. Makes me think nothing was done on my behalf and after a prudent delay I was told there was nothing. I am very disappointed and don’t have faith in their electronic records or their research into prior records even though they have relevance for accurate reporting to the IRS. Jerry Stanke

Intuitive and fun. Right from the start, the app & online platform works way better than Etrade. I was able to open an account easily with both companies but when it came to the app I made my decision with TDA. I like that I was easily able to make a photograph check deposit within app. Photo deposits take a few days so I’d highly recommend being aware of that before buying stocks. So you guys only get 4 stars because I was forced “unknowingly” into hedge trading! There are interest charges and fees for rolling the dice with borrowed money. So beware. I wasn’t given a warning prompt in the app. No real complaints here because my real money was processing & my stock value went up. So the hedge fund I borrowed was paid off luckily the next day. Anyhow, I find this app easy to locate things and the PC platform has an option to toggle into “Think or Swim” if you prefer darker, more robust functions. The platform offers lots of fun tutorial videos. Apparently you can earn points ! Not sure what it translates into but hey, I’ll earn them. I like that TD Ameritrade has a local branch in Honolulu so I’m able to skip the call center line which totally stinks like every other call center. Wait forever? No thanks. Just call your local rep. Be nice. They’re humans too.

Review. My review is simple it is a very easy to use platform and much information is acquired for you to investigate investing! you need to find out what you’re investing in what do you feel your dollar is worth to control in the market, how do you strategy and to gain knowledge and find out how to become a better investor such as many illustrations given throughout the tutorial and guidance that they offer free. Learning how to invest let you gauge your risk as well as momentum in the stock investment field. I am learning day by day sometimes slower but with information I am more confident and setting goals in obtaining them thank you T D Ameratrade. I would like to come to the office and personally talk with counselors on investment analyst as to developing a stronger foundation for trading options and also stock funds, please review and follow up with me thank You.

The App is SOO accessible (easy)!!! Great Customer Service. I’ve been using TDA to invest my Roth IRA for a little over a year now. I was referred by my mentor who is a multimillionaire (who wouldn’t take financial advice from someone wealthy?). I started out investing $1000, with the promise of a $70 investment per paycheck ($140/month). As a part time employee, single parent, and student I was worried about releasing (investing) that much money. All I could think about was the fiscal deficit I’d feel if it were lost. But I also cling hopelessly to the [possibility] of gain. I reached out to my agent at TDA several times a week to see if my investment had paid off or plummeted. Naturally nothing happened for months. The minute my investment grew (even a little) my agent called me and celebrated with me. He knew how stressed I was and how important it was to me to know. When my investment dropped (even a little), he called and informed me and explained to me what that meant and why the market might be changing. In short, he kept me in the loop and monitored my investments as if they were his own. I paid nothing for his services. In 2019 alone, I have doubled my earnings (currently at $3K+). I’m really looking forward to what I can do in 2020. My investment why is so my child has a future (if I don’t win the lottery or become wealthy beforehand ;))

Restriction of trades.. This app is great. The watchlist, trading, all of it. But, TD Ameritrade was involved in restricting trades of a security I owned while it was going up in a short squeeze. The decision to limit buys drove the price way down. Not all brokerages did this but you don’t want to be associated with the likes of Robinhood. My financial advisor told me to get out as quick as possible. Just because hedge funds are losing tons because of shorting stocks should not give the people that sell securities the right to manipulate prices. I’m sure they will have a dumb excuse but a lot of people lost money because of that. No hard feelings. In the past. I will continue to use TD as well as a second one. Maybe they both won’t restrict a stock in the future that is making me money. The whole point of this service is to make money. And you failed miserably. Nice app for real though. Great customer service. Cheers- probably won’t have another problem as I didn’t for about three years with TD - I will give them that.

Wow, just wow. Not only are the super aggressive in filling trades, but the UI is great and the $0.00 commission on ETF’s is unbeatable. 5/5 for the broker. I do have a complaint with the app however: I was buying equity in a company, and when the price was quoted to me it failed to include the commission on pink sheet stocks ($6.50) I should’ve used the convenient and informative information sheet the app has to see it was a pink sheet stock, but nothing else would indicate this to the user. Anyways, it was just $6.50 so at the end of the day I’ll live, but if I had known it was in there I would’ve bought more! I bought 100 shares for $.014 per share, so it was $1.40 and then I notice I had to pay a $6.50 commission only after the trade went through! Hopefully this company moons because I’m not selling it ever now, just out of principal. I’m a new trader, I guess now I know that when a stock is so cheap it’s obviously pink sheet. Live and learn I guess. 3/5 for the app. Thanks TD, for making an alright app, and being a great broker.

Terrible. Wibull offers so much more helpful Content that it’s my belief you want people to fail. Your Sink or Swim is way to complex for anyone (unless your a computer programmer) to figure out. Try and expand charts early morning and app disappears constantly. The only place I have seen improvement is the fact that there is no more wait time when you call in with a question. The problem is you can call 10 times and get 10 different answers (because nobody seems to know what they are talking about in most cases) and there is no accountability when it comes to getting false information. Everybody seems to be an expert that just finished a class and knows for a fact that they are right, until you talk to the next person who says completely the opposite, yet we are accountable and are expected to know all of the rules, when the people whose job it is to know don’t have a clue. The totals in the morning or not accurate many times and I believe her set up to trick you. It is my guess that a lot of stock is held in the house and you steal all the profit. I’m sure I would be told that that would be illegal and that could not happen, however no one can monitor and keep up with it because it’s too complex. Trust level I give you one star, accurate information I give you one star, helpful information they give you one star. Getting a hold of somebody and give you four stars, The problem is that information is worthless once you get a hold of someone.

Love it!. I decided to drop the Robin Hood’s and coin bases because of the ridiculous fees and switch to a legitimate broker account. After spending too much time comparing the bigger brokerages available on the market I decided Ameritrade was the right fit. It has been a great experience so far and even though I'm only investing $10 and $20 here and there I am actually making money and learning about investing. Highly recommend! BTW, if you are new to investing check out the Ameritrade “Think or Swim” app that is also available for PC. It allows you to trade “fake money” in a simulation so you can practice without risking you hard earned cash. Through Think or Swim they also have completely FREE courses on how to read candle stick charts, investigate companies that you want to invest in as well as trading strategies. I can’t speak highly enough of this company. I am glade I went with them.

Information. Very clear information

Trading Stop. I want to make a trade, and I could not for the moment, what is this????

Total market manipulators. They don’t respect their customers and don’t support the free market. You run the risk of arbitrarily losing all your money if they decide they don’t want you to make your expected trades.

Excellent App. I would love to recommend it

Good!. You are very good!

Terrible. Manipulated the stock market #nok justice

Market manipulation?. Wont let traders trade, WE LIKE THE STONK.

Review. Great dashboard setup. Zero trade fees. Fraction shares on DRIP. Great analytics tools. What else could we ask for!

Don’t bother. Controlled by the rich, these guys control the market and play illegally!

They joined Robin Hood. Do not use TD they think it’s okay for the 1% to manipulate the market but not retail investors. Delete this app and withdraw your money

Scam. Worked with citadel llc hedge fund to stop investments of regular individuals in order to help Wall Street trading. This marks illegal activity and shows the company will do whatever necessary to help big companies for money even take away rights of individuals.

Limits fair trade. The app limited the ability to buy stocks when it was time to do so

Gme/amc etc. They blocked trades at their leisure! Any day it jumped even 10% they block saying can’t trade it.. but then it settles and your allowed.. what kind of robinhood bullshet is this? Unreal. Regulate the banks and regulators!

Fraud. Glitchy

Not good. Stop us from trading

BMO isn’t delayed by 20mins. Useless. Delayed by approx 20mins. So disappointed TD!

Overall Decent App. Recommended

Jai0111. They don’t support free market

Great platform. Used this for 2 years now and have had no issues

Great app. This app provides all the information I need as a small investor. Everything is at my fingertips and easy to find. It definitely makes keeping track of my investments quicker and easier. A definite recommendation.

Mrs Tammy Chan. TD Ameritrade app is easy to use. I am comfortable with it.

Review. This site and the service is amazing - especially when compared to the Toronto Canadian site - it’s embarrassing

Mam. Mwna

Blocking traders. Blocking traders from buying stocks with large bull momentum

This company breaks laws and manipulates markets at the cost of its own customers. They will do their best to steal your money in favour of hedge funds. They stopped GME trading a day before short interest deadline for Friday for the explicit purpose of saving money from their own stupid hedge bets. This company should be fined until its bankrupt. They are the 1% and they are the worst example of everything bad on Wall Street.

Rigged. Hand in glove with monster. No support for fair trading

Doesn’t update and prices cam be 2 days old. Please fix. See title

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!!. Waste of time and your money.

Don’t use!. They locked many many customers out of buying more shares of certain companies because they were causing hedge funds to bleed. They don’t have your best interest in mind beware

TDAmeritrade. Very good platform and excellent customer service.

Dreading change to Schwab. A great app for trading. I wish the streaming quotes were quicker to match the Yahoo and Google streaming quotes.

App review. Super Very fast and user friendly Customer service is good too

Does the basics and dependable but. I like using the app and trading is easy too What I miss is the ability to see stock analysts reviews. Took awhile to discover how to use ‘watch’.

Smooth and easy. Easy to use, simple, and quick

Cheats. Garbage suit suckers

Corrupt. Blocking the trading of GameStop so they can steal our money

This is the best app for for investors. This app now and sign up for TD investing if you don’t have one

Scam Company. Won’t let Canadians use this

Investor friendly. Great app for watching, tracking and trading stocks!

Better integration with ToS. Would rate 5 star if has better integration with thinkorswim, better yet consolidate the two into one app.

Easy to navigate. Place trade orders, review balances and positions made easy.

Clear user interface. Easy to use.

Enhancement opportunities. App uses website servlets and not 100% native mobile app. App looks old App is duplicating some functions with ThinkOrSwim.. not sure why ?!

Would not let me trade. I wanted to trade stocks and it stopped me. Unfair I should be allowed to buy or sell during market hours if I want. That’s why I got the app.

They take off stocks that they don't want you to trade with. With no warning!

One start this just like RH. Block trades on AMC BB ect bad service basically Horrible

Nicely Done!. Head and shoulders above others that I have used. Wish I could find one as good in Canada.

Easy, convenient, and abundant investment options. Easy, convenient, and abundant investment options. Data is relevant to make better decision and commission is transparent.

avoid. use bitcoin. rigged!

No thanks. Do not use them for stocks. Horrible experience. 👎

The absolute best Brokerage Firm.. I have had trading experiences with several different brokerage firms over 25 years. I have received the highest quality customer service, trading platform, data services and lowest commissions I have ever experienced. The inclusion of the Think or Swim program for stock and option trading makes the combination of the entire client investment experience unmatched. In the brokerage industry, my choice to use TD-A was a simple no-brainer decision. I know TD Ameritrade cannot guarantee me a profit when trading but the reduction of careless losses provides the opportunity to succeed profitability much more likely. I now invest with much more confidence and accuracy which reduces the possibility of investment losses. Best of all, I sleep better at night.

I use this more than my online computer. I seriously find the app easiest to use. I looked At other apps and tried one of them it was a fail, so this is an honest review. TD has easy access information at your fingertips. There is Education, research everything you can do online you can do at a stop light. If you have issues, they have a phone number to CALL and speak to someone as early as 6:00 am I have called. Where as the other one I emailed to get my deposit back and it took a week to get a response and over a month to get my money, just saying… TD has been great to learn my way, I have even merged with other apps for example Yahoo finance there are plenty of tools to help you be the best retail investor you can be. Read all you can that TD provides on the business you invest in. GL

Two days in a row I cannot log in. I rely on this app to send alerts on buys and sells. A great app for that WHEN it lets you log in. This is now the second morning in a row I cannot log in after repeated attempts. If you get lucky you may see a notice that they are experiencing high volume and that is the reason. But this is TD Ameritrade - the big boys. No excuse for this to happen with thousands and thousands of customers money on the line. Try calling customer support and expect to be on hold for 40 minutes or longer. Do not try their chat help. You will get a bot that says it will connect you to a live agent but when you say yes it responds with “please ask a simple question I am a bot.” So that goes on back and forth for half an hour or more. Entertaining if you like that and don’t care that you are losing money because a stock has hit its trigger but you don’t know that. I give up. Any suggestions on a good app for alerts? Yahoo Finance used to then stopped.

Too many problems with Quotes and News Feed to be reliable. Too many times I have logged in to a screen telling me I “have no positions”. You don’t know how disconcerting this is to see first thing in the morning. Many login attempts “fail” for no reason. Then all you stuff just appears after 3 or 4 more attempts. The Interface is burdensome and too many keystrokes are needed to get to where you want to go. Pick a stock, pick Detailed Quote, pick Charts and swipe slightly and the whole screen goes back to Positions and you have to start over again. News stories are so choppy because of all the busted hyperlinks and imbedded headlines that they are nearly impossible to read without parsing every line. Finally have up and just use Yahoo for the most current news on each stock.

Great User Friendly App. This app is great to use while on the go. It’s platform is easy to understand and use. You can conduct the latest news about a stock which can help make a decision to purchase or hold off from buying a stock. You have quick access to your holdings and account balances. Quick ACH transfers into your account and immediate accessibility to use the funds transferred. The reason why I didn’t give it five stars is because sometimes it freezes up and will show a different stock price or it won’t purchase an order as submitted. You‘ll need to close the app and open it again which could possibly cost you profits that you missed out on. Sometimes you may have to turn your phone off completely to gain access again. Overall a great app while on the go🤑

Everything you want. I’m really liking TDAmeritrade. It’s super confusing at times because it’s packed with so much and literally everything you could use. There are a couple of things I wish it did have that it currently does not have. 1. I wish the watch list would show pre market or after hour stock prices. It only shows the last price at when the market closed. In order to see those after hour or pre-market stock prices you have to set up charts but flipping through multiple charts just to see those prices is a lot. 2. I don’t like how I set my trail stops when buying, I can’t see what the buy price flips too when the stock goes up or down. Other platforms make this super easy but not on TDAmeritrade. Overall outside of those two things, I love the platform

Could use a sleeker approach. I rarely write reviews but I trade a lot and use Webull, Robinhood, TD Ameritrade as well as their Thinkorswim software. I want to start with the praise. This app has absolutely everything you need for investing and can support everyone - from the average investor to a seasoned trader it is a phenomenal app. However. The design layout and appearance is extremely overwhelming and feels like word vomit on your screen. Yes, I believe all of it is important but the presentation feels lacking and it takes a long time to adjust to it. So, if you wanted to attract a larger audience I recommend that there is a redesign somewhere in between Robinhood’s and Webull’s feel. Make the app more inviting and less like a balance sheet. Again I want to reiterate that this is a phenomenal app and the services are amazing I just feel overwhelmed every time I open the app. I hope that someone in the design department gets to see this and is able to take a look into a more inviting, sleeker redesign.

Effortless and efficient but reporting has flaws. There are lotta features here I don’t use. So I have room to grow in the future when I care too. For the basics, you can quickly get going. They have videos to teach you about more advanced topics. I’d like Ameritrade to make reporting better (all stock trading systems have the same weakness). The app reports money earned due to market increases, and this is great, but it artificially inflates that number by placing contributions into the account as profit increases, which hides how little the market actually contributes to new found wealth. Another report that doesn’t work well are positions. If I buy F stock one year at 30 dollars, and then 5 months later buy more stock at 20 dollars, Ameritrade doesn’t give a good accounting of those different position prices (they each should have their own row rather than merging them together underneath F stock symbol.) All stock trading platforms have these same flaws. You’ll notice that these flaws are designed to create a more rosy picture than things really are, encouraging you to keep investing into stock because it’s hard to track that your not making as much ground as you think.

Great (but slightly confusing) app, nice service. Pretty easy to manage overall. The app works well, but it is slightly unintuitive. Different screens/pages show nearly the same information, and are laid out in confusing order. But that’s a small thing. Very pleased with the services provided, like news and research. If you’re new to the whole stock market, TD has many, many resources for you to learn and develop your skills. Also, I appreciate the low/nonexistent fees for transfers/purchases/sales/etc. Happy to pay a couple bucks from time to time to use a great platform. (New traders: TD doesn’t allow the buying of fractional shares unless it’s a part of a DRIP program! I’ve used TD for a while now, but this is one update I really, really hope they’ll make to their platform one day.)

Works Most Time, Some Bugs. I’ve been using the TD Ameritrade app daily for day/swing trading stocks for over a month now. I also use the “thinkorswim” app but that’s a separate review. While this app works well most of the time I have noticed some bugs and/or glitches. For example; not all changes I make to Watch Lists will always take, it sometimes take repeated effort to make right. I have also had the app suddenly close on me, I’m estimating a handful of times over the past month and this is with daily use. While none of this has happened during crucial moments (primarily use thinkorswim to execute trades) it has happened and it’s annoying. I plan on continuing to use for now, but I am trying out other platforms to decide what works best for me. I do like the alerts, never missed a trade as I set it up. Overall not great, not horrible, functions well enough to get the job done.

Nice Trading platform with one dreadful glitch!. I like TD Ameritrade for all it offers however there is one dreadful glitch that is making me think twice about continuing as a customer. TD Ameritrade has this annoying policy of canceling a contingency buy or sell order when ever the company you are trading is engaging in a stock action. For example if I placed a stop limit order on stock A at a certain price, when stock A is announcing earnings, paying out dividends, etc, my order will be canceled regardless of whether the pending action has any direct/ adverse consequence on my pending trade. This has happened me more than a dozen times and frankly I am very sick of it! I placed a Stop limit order to stave off more losses and to have your brokerage firm cancel without any prior notice is ridiculous. Charles Schwabb doesn’t do this ever! I am seriously thinking of going over to Schwabb. Investor be forewarned!!

Great for beginners and experienced investors. I used TD Ameritrade for my investments and my daughters. She is currently 12, but the information they provide is incredibly helpful to new investors. The platform is easy to use and customize to your individual needs. I used to use Edward Jones for investments but have found Ameritrade easier to manage and as an extra bonus, less fees. The other reason I prefer Ameritrade to other online apps is that they have great customer support in addition to brick and mortar buildings. If I ever have an issue I have the opportunity to go into one of their locations and work with an individual face to face. In the world of AI I truly value human interaction and appreciate that Ameritrade has been successful at merging the best technology with amazing customer support!

Helpful app. Getting started stock trading is easily said in two words.... “very difficult”. However, though this has been a learning curve, it has been made a lot easier with the user friendly layout. I work with computer systems all the time with property management. This has actually been something similar to it, I’ve also done some medical coding and again the platform is fairly similar. It has an area perfectly compartmentalized for each step of trading. It has video courses (I’m a visual learner so this is extremely helpeful) and though I have a motley fool subscription I can always start learning about each company here before I expound on the web and the companies personal website. It has its ups and downs- (no pun intended) but it’s been enjoyable. Recommended!

Why the word outstanding is applicable!. No fee trades on stocks. Option trade pricing well below the norm/ Every study A-z is amazing. Room for improvement? Not sure each day I learn more about trading from TD Ameritrades with its vast vast in depth library. The one item that I still would like that is on the trade platform - not the Think or swim app- is that I can have constant feeding with all my stocks and options pertaining to specific news about each position I hold. Think & Swim- with Dashboard— yes it has news or u can go to each stock and have live news as it happens! However with the platform that is leaving the one outstanding feature as aforementioned is grouping the news pertaining to all holdings. Regardless everything that is offered is exemplary.

Love it. TD Ameritrade as a company is great. 24/7 customer service and everyone I’ve talked to has been professional and friendly. The only thing I don’t like is that they utilize Citadel and dark pools. To avoid this you have to make sure your trades go through the exchange called IEX. Also, if you trade on margin (borrow money) they are allowed to borrow your shares to short sellers. Apparently this is common among brokers, so DON’T trade on margin! I love the app. Having another app from another broker to compare it to, I like TDAs app MUCH, MUCH better. All info is easy to access—the average you paid for a position is right on the main page, very convenient and I find all the info I need to be easy to access. It is well organized and easy to navigate and easy to trade. I’m a happy customer.

Tax issue. I received an email on 4/1/23 concerning a tax issue on 9/21. There was a $250 tax issue that was not paid because there were not enough funds in my cash account that particular day even though I receive approximately $85,000 annually in interest and dividends from my IRA account. A notice was placed in an obscure notice box on my account on the main website which is not available on the iPad version which I use routinely. Failure to pay resulted in a $250 penalty plus interest. I was recently told by a representative that they try on one more occasion to pay the tax. If funds are available, then stop all efforts to resolve the payment issue and send a notice to the box that is not available on the iPad version that the tax owed was not paid. I have been a customer with TD Ameritrade since they took over my Scottrade account approximately ten years ago. I think I deserved at least a courtesy phone call, which was not made, in 2021 concerning the tax issue!

Excellent Trading & Investing Co.. First, I didn’t choose TDAm, it was the other way around. I had a Scottrade account forever and TDAm acquired them. Knowing nothing about TDAm, I decided to give it a try as long as I had arrived here anyway. Very glad I did. Every tool and feature on this site is clear, concise, easy to understand, and intuitive. It has everything a retail investor needs and more. Trading is straightforward and easy, and the charting is very good. But if you want to have your mind blown, download thinkorswim. It automatically syncs to your TDAm account and is truly a professional level trading platform. For the serious amateur and pro alike, this is the bomb! If you are serious about trading and investing, you owe it to yourself to have a look at this.

Horrible Fills, Horrible company Now!. When you place a trade it starts at a negative position for you, so you have to move the meter to the natural. The market making or bookmaking is done by HFT firms or they themselves are the HFT, so More than likely if you try to make a profitable trade it will just sit for a very long time because of the HFT. You must keep a minimum of $25k inside of your account to trade options which is really stupid. They won’t remove pattern daytrading from my account and so I can’t trade with any margin or do options. Most firms will stop your trade if it is too far outside of the bid and ask but I accidentally made a trade way outside bid/ask and they executed it. The held an option trade over until Monday and then executed it at a loss for me. Never heard of option trades not closing at the end of the day unless you request it specifically. The options specialist teased me for trying to make money instead of doing small trades. Ok, I’ll trade somewhere else.

It’s Ok. Some handicaps, but ok. Pinks slips have a $6.95 so they don’t encourage investment, and many large foreign stocks are in this category. The charts can be a constant problem for several stocks, they will not provide chart data. Also the charts do not show an overall gain/loss over a viewed duration (e.g up 1.5% over the weekly view or 3% drop over a monthly view). The app will crash occasionally on heavy use. The app cannot do fractional shares (buy partial expensive stocks) The app also cannot trade crypto. Benzinga is used to provide much of the news and they are frequently publishing in error and require corrections often. On the plus side, the app is clean and clutter free and doesn’t require too many steps to execute a trade and still operates in a straight forward, intuitive fashion. Think or Swim (same company) has better chart reliability, but a very cluttered view and not user friendly to quickly change chart views.

Ameritrade review. This popped up! I sent it so long ago that I don’t remember when I sent it. Security is needed, I realize AMTD is huge, but this continual extension of security check steps is maddening. Twice I have missed trades when I click “place trade” and instead the iPad asks me my AMTD password. Shouldn’t that be clear before the actual trade effort, like when you see the cash available, etc? Fortunately I am not a major trader, I am still unsure here. Someone has to look at this piling on of information gathering. Also I got an email from AMTD that my PW was jeopardized. On an iPad, it is far from clear how to go about changing such information. Make it more visible! I called AMTD and the agent was very helpful with guiding me through the process. Someone might take a look at this process too. Then, lastly, be clear on the difference between signing on with an AMTD icon, and signing on with something like “Safari”. Enough, thanks for asking!

Good but not perfect. Not logical. Hard to move around and get the information you want. Title headers for charts don’t stay visible when scrolling. You can’t be sure what account you are on. On many screens, one account name is in the top pull down menu, with the data from another account showing in the middle of the screen. This caused me to attempt to buy a stock in one account which actually place in another account. I know another person that also place an order in the wrong account for the same reason. When transferring stocks, internally from one account to another, the dollar value of the stock transferred isn’t available anywhere. This amount is critical for tax reasons. You can’t display your purchase price or gain/lost for individual stocks. I can not find how to buy CD on the app. To use all the functions TDA has to offer, you need to nave a PC.

Great, but needs dark mode. This is the first investment platform I’ve ever used, but without even using others, I’m confident in saying it’s one of the, if not the, best ones out for new and experienced investors. The information and advice they give for free is very good, and has been very helpful. A lot of new investment platforms aimed towards millennials have interesting incentives to bring people in, such as rounding up purchases and investing that money, but I much prefer TD the way it is without these. My only wish is for them to add a dark mode to the app. I like using dark mode for everything else on my phone for the clean look, power saving (which is minimal, I know), and not being blinded at night. It’s still 5 stars for me, but I’d love having this feature.

Needs a 2020 Refresh. The app does a better job with displaying information that other mobile investment apps cut out. TD Ameritrade, while not as mobile friendly, seems to be a more professional and no nonsense way to invest your money. With that being said, I really think the user interface could use a great refresh. It's a delicate balance between advanced financial statistics and user friendliness. With that being said, I rely more on Robinhood's platform and the new service Public than I do this app. This is solely because it is much easier to find companies that interest me and can be followed in a more visually appealing manner. This app coupd fill 100% of my investment needs if it could base itself more off of an app like Public. For example, include company logos with stocks. Use contrasting colors that make it easier to highlight inportant data. These kinds if changes would greatly improve the user experience.

Don’t care about the free market. The reason I gave a “0” on the td platform is they don’t believe in free market. When I mean free market the company believe what securities you should trade and what type of order. Ex. Option is not for sudden securities at 0 day option. I understand the reason why because of margin and the company thinks is better for the protection of the customer portfolio however the solution to allow customer to trade free as they please with their cash on their account with securities the companies finds risky. Plus on top of that you guys allow margin on penny stock and they are the riskiest securities so I personally think you Saving hedge fund and not the retail trading. I’m looking into switching to fidelity because through this process about gme an etc... all those securities were allow to trade how customers wanted to. That how it supposed to be in a free market not td controller what securities to trade without you permission. I hope you guys learn from this how you guys are manipulating the market.

Good platform for all your trading needs. I like this app! It’s organized well and provides all the information I need to view my account balances, money available to trade, margin (if you are granted that ability) and trading (buy/sell shares). The layout is good. I do get confused on some of the detail screen for your account. Although pop ups to explain it, it is not always understood by me. I also wish that when a trade was made, an immediate balance update was also adjusted—like how much is left to spend to trade. If you trade options (calls and puts) you should also get the free TD Ameritrade “Think or Swim” app for your phone or iPad. It offers more information and better design for the options trader. But you can also buy/sell common stocks as well. Bottom line, you should get both apps.

Focuses on making TDAmeritrade money not the investor. I have used this app for years. I like its functionality. It makes investing easy. I would appreciate an app that doesn't default its options trades to the price that is most beneficial for TDAmeritrade. It always defaults to the worst price for me on my options trades and I must adjust my price to make decent money, it would be nice to have it default to the other price not the one that benefits the company. I also would like to see the option default to what I click on. If I select the sell side of an option I don’t want to have to re-select this in the trading screen. This seems like a poorly written app in the options trading overall. It seems like the developers didn’t have any experience with actual options traders.

Could be a great app, but a few serious problems exist. Overall I like the app and it help me manage money and trade. However, the following bug is problematic and has led me to make wrong decisions based on incorrect data. The Account > Positions view shows out of date information. For example, if your perform a trade, it will still show you the positions you had pre-trade for a long time (i.e. hours). So omyou think you have exited a position, but when you see that view, it still shows you holdong the positions and it shows your gains/losses as if you were still holding it. This has led me to commit trades assuming my trade hadn't gone through, causing problems. This should be updated with any trade. FIX THIS!!! On iOS, if you execute a trade, the overlay trade notication stays on screen preventing navigation for multiple seconds. The "X" button to close notification doesn't work.

Robbed of 500 dollars (not because of a bad investment). I’ll make this review short so that people can stay away from this scammer website and not lose money. Don’t buy anything in this website. One day, after hours of research I caught a peak, an absolute peak in a company. I made several hundreds of dollars that day, and the next morning when I woke up, I saw that I was down to 80. No no, the stock didn’t go down. It actually went up. But you know what, this thing called mandatory exchange popped up in my history. I checked my positions(where you see your stocks) and found that it had replaced ten of my bought stock and distributed it amongst two other stocks. The thing is thoguh, these stocks were each worth 0 dollars, and when I searched them on the stock market app, they didn’t show up. The website literally scammed me. Don’t buy this website, they will take away you money as soon as you start making some big cash.

Would not let me trade.. The app was working amazing and letting me trade quite easily then one day I got an error message saying the account can’t accept new trades. The problem was I needed to send in further documentation to “prove” I was a United States citizen. I sent them the new information and waited over a week with my money sitting there not able to do anything because I cannot trade. I called customer service and after waiting 45 minutes to reach somebody he finally told me it would be resolved before the end of that day and it’s been 3 days since then and i still can’t trade. It’s a great app, maybe my favorite trading app so far, but the customer service problems I experienced and the fact I felt like I was just another number and they didn’t care about my the problems I am having is the reason I pulled all my money out and deleted the app. It’s ridiculous when you enter in your address and do everything correctly and then they just freeze your account and make you call them to wait for your questions to be answered.

Pretty buggy and needs a Home Screen widget. Upon unlocking my account for the first time in the morning with FaceID, the app takes almost 10 seconds to load the dashboard. 9 times out of 10, the information displayed of my positions and balance/total gain/loss for the day is “stuck” (best way I can describe it), containing mismatched and nonsensical price data. I usually have to force quit the app to get it to pull the right numbers from the market and then update in real time like it’s supposed to. Pulling down to refresh is about 50/50 if it will reload properly or just freeze for an indefinite period of time. Please make this first log-in experience better! Other than that, hopefully we’ll see a home screen widget for glanceable info that’s relatively up to date soon. I hate to bring a competitor’s name into this, but robinhood has pretty decent Home Screen widgets that TD Ameritrade should copy.

Great for a beginner!. With no real experience in the market, I decided to finally open an account. The online process was very easy, and informative. Ok, some of the documents that you need to read are very intimidating- but necessary. There are lots of videos to provide info and explain what you can do. You can start at whatever amount you want to deposit and you don’t need to invest all of it immediately. Start small and watch tour account grow slowly, (or take a risk and dive in big). The point is that you can go at your own pace. I started this as something to learn during the COVID crisis. This has been a great experience- not only from a learning perspective- but I’ve already made a little money and it’s fascinating to watch some stocks. Good luck and have a little fun!

This app is straight cash homie.. This app is worth a download. The interface is user friendly and the app is predictable and reliable. I would use the app for getting quotes, referencing simple moving averages, convergence/divergence moving averages, etc. If you want a more in depth experience, try the thinkorswim app. ToS gives users access to a truly massive library of technical indicators, market strength indicators, even some licensed studies. And, if you like the thinkorswim app and you haven’t downloaded it for your computer, or if you’ve given up on learning it, don’t. It’s worth it. Have you ever thought of a trading strategy while laying in bed, half asleep? If you can remember it in the morning, you can wake up and build it in ToS and backtest it. It’s invaluable. Next to paying $20k/yr for the gold standard, this is it.

Adequate for very basic info and trades. I am running the latest iOS on a new iPad. However the app is not that easy to navigate, but at least I can finally see my statement on my iPad. (I could never open a statement with the iPad Safari on the main website. There’s some sort of incompatibility with the iPad Safari.) Also, the app’s menu keeps defaulting to Tax Documents instead of Statements. It’s annoying to change that scroll wheel setting every time I log back in to see my statement. That info is too buried in the menu. There’s a few other menu issues but this the most glaring. Gains Keeper is missing, so I’ll subtract a star for that. That’s a must have. I use that regularly. Pro: I do like my balance info in a chart and the ability to compare it to the S&P500. That’s a nice feature. So if you don’t trade often this app is probably ok to supplement the main website.

A few problems. I appreciate the ease of purchases, the rapid updates, and the ability to float easily between accounts. Your online app is much easier to use than your website, frankly, and more versatile. But I have two issues: 1) I’d love to be able to get a growth chart of my funds, both by account and combined, in the app. I track it closely but I’d appreciate getting a sense of change over time. I can get it by account at the website, that should be offered on the app as well, plus all accounts combined, which I don’t think the website offers. If it’s there already I missed it. 2) your stock feed is regularly buggy. I had a stock yesterday that was up over a million percent. While that would be great, it wasn’t true of course. I would say at least weekly there’s at least one stock where you have the growth or price of the stock simply wrong. Please fix this.

Easy, Simple, Intuitive. This is a good, basic platform to use. The information needed for trades is clearly presented. My application to trade options was quickly approved. That said, some issues: the mobile app does not have a stock screener; you’ll have to use the desk top version, or Think or Swim (or another platform, like finviz or Webull). Charts cannot be edited with trend lines, either. However, my biggest frustration is that the TD Ameritrade account balance is not always current, intraday, and the user often has to wait overnight for the trades to settle. This means the user can’t always immediately make trades on their actual purchasing power. I’ve had to contact customer service a couple times to get my account balance refreshed.

The short-comings of this entity.. This company doesn’t have its act together. One morning within the past few months my account showed zero Balance with zero holdings when I actually held thousands of shares worth over 7 figures. I needed to place a trade and after failing online I called them and they said I had other platforms to use and didn’t acknowledge their short comings of their systems. While I watched my per share price trade down and I was forced to make a trade decision which was not a sound decision. Imagine your portfolio shows zero, I think anyone would be panicking. When I asked to speak to someone in authority about recourse they said our decision is made and final, “We cannot do anything”. I have spoke to FINRA to lodge a complaint because of their system errors cost me money due to the fact I couldn’t perform a trade electronically which is the basics of their business model. I’m extremely disappointed in their service, I suggest stop advertising as much and spend time fixing your systems so no one else experiences this problem.

Getting worse and worse. Compared to the early days of Scottrade the TD menu is extremely bad and getting worse. The problems navigating are too numerous to mention and we were already switching to Schwab before the merger was announced. Even if you work with the app a couple of hours a day it is difficult to remember how to do even basic things like transaction history and create orders easily and quickly. More than once stocks have been sold out of a different account than the one intended and it seems fruitless to customize anything because of the difficulty of doing so and any customization seems to be reordered from time to time. The symbols and navigation are awful. The only other possibility is that I am getting Alzheimer’s but since I don’t have any other indications of same besides working on your app, I will choose to believe I am sane except when dealing with your app. By the way it seems impossible these days to call TDA either locally or nationally .... Sincerely

Great app - new to investing and it’s taught me a lot. I did some research before settling with this Broker and I am happy to say that I made the right decision. Between this app and Thinkorswim (TD Ameritrades other app) I have all the info I need. I was brand new to investing and this app taught me everything I needed to know, between it’s how to videos and investing educational videos on the website. There isn’t much this app doesn’t offer, and what it doesn’t, I can do on Thinkorswim. The great thing is once you open an account you can utilize both apps and your information will sync with both. The only drawback is that (for a newbie) it doesn’t give a lot of info on what each indicator is and what it does. I had to do my own research on that part to find out. Even just a paragraph on how to insert values to customize an indicator would be helpful.

Pretty solid app but could use a few add ons. I for the most part love the app . If your using the standard app and not Think or Swim app, then there is one major tweak I would love to see . When in my account & checking position , there are many times I was looking for a link or tab from “positions” to see the stocks chart. For the life of me I can’t figure out why there isn’t one. You have to click on your watch list then locate the symbol and click . There needs to be a tab or link from each position to see that’s stocks charts without doing all that extra. Besides that - I love the app . I would like to trade pre market & after market like on Webull & have no idea if I can or not on the TD Ameritrade app? That would be super solid if we can. Almost makes it breaks it .

Needs work. TD Ameritrade showed that I had an amount available for trading between cash and margin. I used that amount for a trade, then it flagged me for a margin call, so I exited the position. I entered a different trade, same result. The order goes through but then tells me I’m going to get a margin call. This happened several times this week. Now, after several attempts, I finally made a trade that satisfies their margin requirements, but they flagged me for pattern day trading. In my opinion, the platform should not tell you that you have X amount of margin available as buying power, then allow you enter a trade with that margin buying power that puts you at risk of margin call without a proper warning. I juggled trades in a panic just to get out of the margin call warning, and now my account is restricted. Why not say “this trade will result in a margin call due to insufficient margin requirements, do you wish to proceed?”, or just not allow the trade in the first place?

At my finger tips. I love this app. When I was 19 years old (back in 83) I went to live temporarily with my Uncle in Virginia. One thing I used to watch him do was check the papers stock section to see what his investments were doing. The newspaper...! How rudimentary! How ancient! Sometimes he would curse! Today I can watch market movements minutes after they happen anywhere, anytime and with a touch of my finger I can buy and sell stocks. Back then the stock market was so foreign to me that I had zero interest. If I knew then what I know now and if this app was around then like it is now, I would be a millionaire. For now I’m working on it. Oh, and although much has changed much has remained the same. Sometimes I curse too!

Why won’t your app accept by offer?!. Ameritrade is very hard to use. I don’t understand why they can’t just tell me what I’ve invested what it’s worth possibly how much I made on the stupid account. This is why I usually use stash very easy to use and user-friendly. When I place an order it goes through and I have no trouble. I’ve been trying to buy a stock for months now and first they kicked it out, then I called and talked to a representative and they said you have to say it’s on an unlimited hold so that it will automatically ask for them to buy and so far it’s never gone through. This really makes me mad and if I didn’t have any Money in this account I wouldn’t even use it. They are changing to Schwab, and I want my money back. Now I cannot pull my money out of the account. Super frustrating and a waste of your time and money. I will be calling them and telling them to give me my money.

Works great. I’m a long time investor and decided to try TD. I am no professional though and still learning the ropes. What I like is it’s easy to to see your positions and other info. Professional app. Great to learn on as they have education that teaches the lingo and trading options as well as show you important things to look at so you don’t have to panic if a stock drops because there are other many things to look at so you don’t make trading mistakes. They have 24/7 service to talk to a real person. I called once at 1:00 AM. They also have the text questions and answers come up. Brokers that know their stuff. They helped me navigate the app and Sink or Swim will be my next. one of my favorite investment sites.

Review. I like TD Ameritrade itself but have some issues with their website and mobile app. On the mobile app I can’t seem to find dividend income to date or for the year. Also, seems crazy that I have 3 accounts (brokerage, IRA, Roth) and I had to go to each account and connect them. If I was on one account and connected the other two and then went to one of the other accounts, I had to reconnect. When I sell, I don’t see a button to “sell all”. If I have partial shares.....? I would also like something set up like Acorns, where I could have round ups dropped into my account. Now, some of these things may exist but it isn’t easy to navigate. I will say that customer service was pretty good when I was setting up accounts and doing a backdoor Roth conversion. I also like the fact that I can have multiple watchlists. Haven’t found that on Schwab. Schwab let’s you have so many and that’s it....as far as I can tell.

Personal service. The TD app is very user friendly and it has a format that includes what I need to keep tabs on my account. Funds transfer fast and easily. Trades are also conducted with ease and accuracy. I exclusively use the mobile app. I understand the think or swim platform for office has additional features. One feature in particular that I would like to have on my mobile is a trailing stop. I can set an alarm but nothing that trails the most recent high enabling me to sell at a certain percentage below that. I recently called TD Ameritrade for an explanation and was impressed with their service. A real person answered my call. I talked to a couple of qualified people that day who also answered quickly and resolved my questions. No computer phone operator. Thank you TD

I check it every morning when I should be sleeping. I use it to watch my positions on my phone while watching charts and using thinkorswim on the computer the T D Ameritrade app and thinkorswim are the same basically. I think or swim is better for your computer and this is better for your phone. I buy my options on thinkorswim platform and I watch the growth on this phone. I’ve been using it like this for years and I’m a full-time options trader. It shows all the newest articles and updates on each stock every morning from early morning to late afternoon and evening and I can watch my watchlist on here etc. etc. so for me it all works perfect together and I don’t need anything else.

Best phone stock app I know about. I’ve been using the Ameritrade app for years. It’s easier to use than the late scottrade app was, and better than the robinhood app too. Robinhood has free trades forever, but the quality of the app is trash. I use Ameritrade to do research and buy bigger blocks of stock since it’s not worth paying the $7 commissions to trade a few shares, and robinhood to buy just a few shares but robinhood is useless for day trading where Ameritrade is good about giving you margin and funds fast. I heard Ameritrade is the best for trading options too. One thing I hate about the app is when you’re reading news about a company it shows the link to the original article but you can’t click the link or even copy paste it. That’s annoying, and has been like that since I started using it in 2014.

Simple app to use, good for start trader, but can’t stay long with it. I started using TD Ameritrade a while ago, and at the beginning it gave me a very good feel about how simple the app was. However, the longer I used, the more inconvenient I found. This app won’t let you trade in the pre-market which is a huge disadvantage compare to diffent platforms. Also I registered for margin trading even I don’t use margin so oftens, but I really wanted to borrow margin to invest in the stocks once market had big corrections and I was out of cash unfortunately. TD didn’t let me use margin even $1. I called for support and they said the stocks I wanted to invest I couldn’t use margin. It WAS WRONG because It didn’t matter what stocks I tried, I couldn’t use margin. So I lost my chances to buy stocks I wanted when they were in good price zone. I’m trying to maintain my current positions, and move all my investments to different platforms. Bye TD Ameritrade.

Easy to navigate. I use this app on the fly throughout my day. Very easy to check positions or research new stocks. I have no complaints, only compliments. By the way, I’m not a big trader. I actually started my account as a stock newbie. This app and their website are why I’ve been gaining confidence in my knowledge. The improved app is easy for everyone to use or expand their knowledge of how to navigate through their financial portfolio. I’m definitely proof of that. I’m a small investor but because of all the educational opportunities you offer, I’m able to make more informed transactions. I recommend TD Ameritrade whenever I can. Thanks for letting small investors have the same opportunities as the big investors do!

5 Bugs I’ve seen in the Ameritrade App. Hi Ameritrade, here are 5 bugs I’ve found to the prices for my ETFs I hold and other securities in my portfolio do not match the prices on the online Ameritrade website and other stock-related apps like Robinhood. Often times the Ameritrade app prices are off by $2 or more per share. This is more noticeable on volatile market days. This seems like a serious bug. Second, there is no way to tell my portfolio percent gain for the year like I can with Robinhood. Third, the login server was down for more than half of yesterday which affected both the website and the app so we couldn’t log in anywhere. Fourth, the daily stock/etf/option/shorts gains do not add up to the portfolio daily gain number. On a day, the portfolio equities could say they lost $1000 but the portfolio says it lost only $400. Fifth, I could see my portfolio balance says it went up by $1000 but the portfolio balance is only $600 higher than it was yesterday after market close. I previously reported the messed up numbers in in-app feedback and it’s all still broken a month later.
