Consistently gets dates and time zones wrong. I was super excited to integrate App in the Air into my daily routine. I’m a heavy business traveller. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. Specifically, it posts flights to my calendar ON THE WRONG DAYS... and AT THE WRONG TIMES. As far as I’m concerned, this falls into the “you had one job” category. It also has cities in the US, which are in the same time zones, categorized in different time zones. Apparently, Raleigh, NC and Miami, FL are in different time zones (they’re not). I had a flight from the US to India show up on completely wrong days, and because I just trusted the app, I very nearly missed a flight and scheduled a number of meetings around incorrect information at great personal expense and embarrassment. If you plan to use the automatic calendaring feature, do not use this app. Maybe it’ll change, but it hasn’t yet. I submitted a support request and got nothing in return. Deleted.

New updates are hurting the app. I love this app so much I’m 10% in Mike’s traveled on this app. It’s a great interface, I love tracking my flights, and It finds some of the best deals. Somewhere around Sept. 2021 one of the updates really hurt the usability of the app. The amount of glitches and crashes shot up, I can no long find any flights in app, I can’t save future trips, and the sorting and filter features don't work most of the time. Again love this app, I’ve been using it for over a year now, but these issues really need to be fixed. It makes me more sad than anger that I’m starting to become frustrated with this app

It’s decent but. It’s a generally well-ish designed app, especially for the user interface, however, there are still many kinks to be smoothed out. It frequently and senselessly groups my random hotels and flights together with no way to splitting them up. For example, why would a hotel in Japan for august be in the same trip as a flight from Chicago to San Francisco in a different month? 🤷‍♂️ Another big issue is that, it reads flights booked but not cancelled, that’s still fine but often it can’t even add flights with a clear confirmation from the same airline. Same airline, same email format, but some flights get recorded and some not. I just don’t get it. So yeah, decent app, but much improvement needed. Thanks dev team.

Bait and Switch. I'm a developer to so I really get it. You have to get money, on an ongoing basis, to keep up with the development of your app. Apple changes things every year and that might break things, but users expect the app they bought to keep working. There are premium features that cost you money so you have to charge. The old model of 0.99$ for every app is not sustainable. That being said, what I don't agree with is baiting and switching your users. I downloaded this app and put in information for my upcoming flights. After that I went in and added booking codes and uploaded my visa documents. Only AFTER putting everything in, the app locked me out of those sections, and wouldn't allow me to see the information I had just put in. It would've been completely fine if it was locked behind premium from the beginning so I could understand exactly what I'm getting for free and what I'm expected to pay for, but locking me out only after I spend the time to put in the information is disrespectful to my time and leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

App in the air. It was my first time using this app. It's absolutely amazing (on iphone and watch..sometimes on watch when you open the app directly from "complication" it's say "add flight from iphone" and you have to completely close the ⌚️ app and opening again. But overall I'm really glad that I've install this app. It's even works "offline " with airplane mode activated on both devices still works (iphone widget and complication on ⌚️ it's showing how much time left until landing or departing). Thank you all the team who's working on this beautiful app that actually works.

Still Annoying. I tried this app 5 years ago and left a 2 star review because of some annoying app behavior. Tried it again (after the developer replied to my FIVE YEAR OLD REVIEW) and am still annoyed. It seems to primarily focus on booking flights. Sorry, but I do that elsewhere and it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever book via this app. I think it has potential for keeping an interesting history of all my flights, but after entering just two (manually), it messed up. Either the app read the flight time I entered wrong or I typo’d the times, but there was NO WAY TO EDIT a flight after it’s in. Tried to delete and re-enter, but I couldn’t even delete a flight! It had an orange error warning come up. For something so simple, I’m not impressed that there’s an error that I found after not much usage.

Good, but missing two must-have features. Hi, overall, I really enjoy this app. But I have two major concerns that I hope can be rectified in a future update: (1) I think there should be an option to have “Boarding at Gate XYZ” display on the iPhone and Apple Watch complication BEFORE boarding begins. It’s super unhelpful that Gate information doesn’t appear until it’s literally time to board. (2) As a big aircraft nerd, I’m really disappointed that the “Aircraft” tab of bookings is almost always blank. This is public information, so I do not understand this oversight. It would be really nice to have the Aircraft section actually work, with illustrations of the aircraft model, and also, seat configurations, which I now have to use a separate app for. If these concerns were addressed, I’d gladly rate this app 5 stars instead of 3.5 (which rounds down to 3).

Not an improvement from existing tools. I was stoked to try this out. I’ve flown 250K+ miles in the last few years across many different airlines. It’s a bit of a pain to log every flight manually as well as remember to check in to flights. I thought App in the Air would be the one stop shop I was looking for. Unfortunately it misses pulling in the occasional flight, doesn’t include some aircraft information so I have to go to flightaware and openflights anyway. I splurged on the auto check in since I thought it would be extremely useful. From my experience it doesn’t work at all. Also, the very most popular US airline loyalty programs are not available. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it but at this point, it’s not useful to me.

Consistently Wrong. I am frequently flyer for my business. I gave this app a try for my last few flights. It was consistently wrong in its timings for boarding, flight tracking, and landing. Even when I reported delays directly in the app, it would show the flight as boarding about to end when we hadn’t even started yet due to the delay. Shows the flight landing when we’re still in the air. Come on this is basic stuff that you can pull from any number of sources. The UI is clunky, cluttered, and confusing. There’s too much going on. They need to focus on getting the basics straight and not trying to do everything all at once.

Best travel app for frequent travelers. App In The Air fulfills all of my travel needs and more. Besides the ability to add (and automatically add) any flight and it’s relevant info like ticket numbers and confirmation numbers makes it extremely useful for regular trips and complicated itineraries such as multi ticket and multi city trips - it combines everything into one tool. I also love seeing the travel map and how it shows details like airlines and aircraft most frequently travelled. I have the premium features and they are useful, but the app without these features is extremely useful. Something I would love to see in the future: more detailed airport maps such as the ones you see in airline stock apps. Hot links in the airline/hotel/car rental section that take you to the company’s respective app (or a link to download). Overall this app is great for anyone who flies, especially for avgeeks like me who like to track their trips. I have a folder of paper tickets I like to collect but having everything on this app makes everything that much easier.

The only app I trust. I found out about the app by an ad before 2 years ago and i had a flight from Bahrain to Bangkok with one stop in Dubai. Before i was leaving my home I received a notification about the whole flight from BAH to BKK with the gates and the timing. When i was at Dubai airport sitting near my gate before the boarding time I received a notification from the app that the gate was changed BEFORE the screen even changed or the gate was sitting near it changed the flight number. So I went to the employees at the gate and told them what happened and the said don’t worry it’s a mistake and this is the right gate. Then the screen changed but the gate didn’t change the flight number so I asked again and they said the same. So i went to the new gate and saw that it’s the real gate now so I rushed back and spoke with the people waiting near the old gate doesn’t know that they gonna miss the flight bc of last call and Dubai is a silent airport that doesn’t announce it or speakers. Also the employees at the old gate was trying to make everyone wait bc it was a system mistake and the gates wasn’t changed. So I trust the app for my travels from that day.

Great app to manage all your bookings!. For starters, app in the air is easy to use, has a very clean interface, and is incredible organized. Being able to add your loyalty numbers into the app is very helpful. Every time I book a trip it sees it and adds it to the “my trips” page. I love looking at all my future flights, it’s a way for me to look forward to all my future travels! I love the map where it shows all the routes I’ve flown, as well as stats of airports I’ve visited, aircraft types I’ve flown, and airlines I’ve flown. It’s all very interactive and organized. I love it! On the day of travel you get helpful notifications. For example before my flight I get a notification saying when I should leave for the airport in order to arrive two hours prior to departure. Very helpful! Overall I love App in The Air! If your a traveler it’s for you!

So frustrating. As of yesterday my mom’s flight has been cancelled on the airline’s side and I have been trying to contact customer support team for 24 hours and have her rebooked on a different flight, I was told by the airlines that I can do so free of charge as the cancellation was on their end but it seems like it’s a mission impossible to reach anyone on this app, the only answer I have gotten was that they have to get authorization from the airlines to make the change. This is absolutely terrible, she depends on this flight as she has several other flight after this one if she can’t get a seat on a different flight this day she will lose all other flights and she is taking an important trip to Europe!!!! I have tried sending emails and contacting a live agent and nothing, live agent never replied, no help through the email. This is just very bad.

Wasted $30. This app is a great idea. I just decided to pay the fee so I could try all the features. Ultimately it doesn’t provide you any more information than any of the current apps from the airlines do. The information it does provide you is delayed by five or 10 minutes so before you takeoff or land, your other apps have already notified you then app in the air pops up and repeats the same information. It’s just another thing to manage. And it really doesn’t do automatic check in and I really don’t want it to do anything else because it might don’t want anyone messing with my flights not worth it. I did subscribe to FlightAware. Because it provides information about. Flight histories and inbound flights.

Happy Long-Time User with Suggestions. I’ve been using App in the Air for around 8 years and great to see the developers offering enhancements such as being able to book flight and hotels. Initially I was not impressed with the hotel booking as it seemed the prices were higher than dedicated travel sites like Priceline. However in consulting with support, they told me the price listed is the total price including taxes and that almost always beats the other sites - I'd suggest adding a note to that effect. Another new enhancement is a C02 offset donation feature has been added to the profile tab. Nice concept in principal but many airlines (esp. International Flights) already offset emissions under a UN agreement or the customer voluntarily pays an offset when booking. Also, I often use the app to track other people’s flights and so it's not MY carbon footprint. I'd rather see a different enhancement such as an airport flight board.

Bring back Apple Watch. Been using this app for over 10 years, love how it integrates with my Google calendar so I’m sure never to miss a flight. I love the automatic updates to let you know about delays and gate changes. Sometimes I get it on app in the air before the app with the airline this is always a good thing. I used to have the app on my Apple Watch but for some reason just lately it stopped working and totally disappeared. I’m not sure what happened if there was an update or not, I looked for it in Apple Watch apps, but I can no longer find it and I can no longer sync it with my Apple Watch. If I’m doing something wrong, please let me know but if not, PLEASE bring back this option of having it on the Apple Watch.

Imports. Updating review: Back to emailing easily and using this app daily. They changed the email address to send itineraries to and I did not get any notice. But they reached out to me and gave me new address so all good. This is a fun app to keep track of your travel. This used to be my favorite app and I switched from tripIt because this one was fun. BUT about 2 months ago, it can no longer import by forwarding the confirmation emails from American or delta. It used to be able to do this, but no longer. So options now are fill out this spreadsheet first that they provide or give them access to my entire inbox. No thank you. Going back to trip it.

App is ok , lot better alternatives there. Positives One of the flight tracker that offers Watch support Cheaper life time plan Negatives -Too much data collected for a flight app. -no native apple family sharing support -why needs my facebook ,google, email passwords ? -too many tabs , messages and pop-ups -no live activity support -no dynamic island support -push messages are often late than any other flight tracker- Doest support login for Apple ID kids accounts (if Apple native family sharing is allowed , this won’t be issue )- app needs to make flight tracker as first tab and rest as backup tabs

But… why?. I honestly don’t get the point of travel apps like this. What are they actually for? I’m not interested in booking hotels or flights through a travel app (who would?!) which basically leaves the flight tracking and notification service… I can see how that would have been useful a long time ago but now pretty much every airline has an app that will do the same thing. But for free and, usually, better. So I tested this app on a recent flight and, sure, it told me when and where to board and when a gate changed but guess what? The app for the airline did all that, too, and it did it faster. When my gate changed, the airline told me long before this app did. Everything I needed to know was right there on the airline app. And airlines aren’t charging a subscription fee to use their app. There are other features the app has but they are so minor that I can’t imagine even using them, let alone paying for them (no one really needs to check covid statuses any more). Deleted it before I even got home from my trip.

Gate number on widgets earlier please. EDIT: Thank you for the response! I added a star for that. Unfortunately, even the larger widget doesn’t address the primary need. I noticed with today’s flight that it also displays the check-in countdown until that runs out, by which time I’ve long since already arrived at my gate. Ideally, the widget(s) should switch from check-in to gate info 2-4 hours before the time of flight. Alternatively, if I could check a box to indicate that I’ve checked in and that would result in the widget moving to gate/boarding info, that would also work to address the issue. The most important piece of information on the day of travel is what gate my flight is at. Unfortunately, the Day of Trip widget on the Apple Watch only displays takeoff time as a small widget. If I want gate info, I either need to tap to open the app or I need to dedicate a large widget space on my watch.

Lifesaver for the frequent travelled!. The app has saved me a few times when I was running late to board -- I could just open the app and check to see how many minutes were left, what gate, etc. I also like how it keeps record of where I have travelled - airport wise - because I travel frequently. Overall, I've actually recommended the app to several friends who travel as much as I do. So far, their feedback is similar to mine and always positive. Highly recommend!

False advertising and underhanded charges. I want my money back!!! The sole reason I wanted this app was because I saw their promotion displaying AA flight info on Apple Watch. Well I found out after paying that a user cannot actually subscribe to AA accounts. So that’s strike 1. Then I was sorely made aware that there are actually dozens of travel service companies that I cannot link to. It was a lie! The big one that hit me today.... The subscription period... The screw you because they do not actually offer a year. Instead they charge for a calendar year and they do not pro rate. So I first signed up mid December. When I found out I was shafted $30 I was angry but figured it was my own bad luck. However today when I was charged another $30 because it’s a new “calendar year” is when I became really angry. This app is a scam and a piece of crap. It’s false advertisement and a rip off and I’m not only reviewing but reporting to Apple.

Very Helpful, Some Frustrations. It’s great to be able to track and manage all of my travel details in one place, but I’ve experienced a relatively major issue that seems to recur: my boarding pass barcode in the app won’t work. I’ve tried checking in through the app as well as scanning an actual paper boarding pass into it, and have still experienced mixed results. In some cases, it works at the gate but not at the security checkpoint. In other cases, it doesn’t work anywhere. This seems like one of the more important features of the app and has led to a scramble to find another form of boarding pass.

Update: No longer recommend. I’ve been using App in The Air for many years and it has been a trusty travel companion. Unfortunately, over the past couple years, the developers have pivoted their business to flight and hotel bookings. Each time I open the app I am accosted by up-sells and customer-hostile designs to lure me into booking another flight or hotel. But, that’s not why I originally fell in love with this app — it was because it helped me track and plan flights! The developers seem to have lost sight of this, and have all but abandoned making any improvements or design refreshes to the original flight tracking and planning features. It seems, somehow, that those core features have actually gotten worse (and harder to access). In fact, compared to some of the competing flight tracking apps, App in The Air now feels clunky, corporate, and out-of-touch. PREVIOUS REVIEW (5 stars): Love having flight paths and information along with boarding times on my watch and my phone. Slightly inconvenient that there's no pull to refresh feature on the iPhone - which means I have to force quit the app and open it again to see changes after adding flights.

Nice synching with Apple Watch. I don’t fully understand all of the features yet, but I love the integration with the Apple watch when trying to get between gates. Note - I had previously written a harsh review due to some double charges, but Apple eventaully gave me a refund, so I am updating my review. Just be careful: If you subscribe to the 14 day trial, then decide to opt for the lifetime subscription, you WILL still be charged for the Annual subscription when the trial has ended. Also, trying to get a refund out of Apple involves negotiating a lot of dead ends, but ultimately paid off. It appears that none of my issues were the fault of App In The Air.

3 Stars. I’ve loved and used this app for many years as you can see from my review below. However, I am unable to recommend this app until an ongoing bug gets resolved. You can not add people (subscribe) them to receive updates regarding your travel plans. This is a huge feature of the program and I’ve been told it will be fixed soon. It’s been at least 18 months. As a Lifetime user, I’m about ready to cut my losses and try another program if AITA can’t get this fixed soon. Very disappointing. ________________________ I’ve been using AITA for years and was so impressed that I became a Lifetime paid user. I had a UI suggestion and within 12 hours, I was contacted and problem fixed. I have never had such great customer service from any company. I’m not a big power user, but I sure appreciate the service I was provided as an occasional flyer. Totally recommend “App In The Air” for any of your travel needs!

Latest Version. This app used to work spotless but now when it says that the plane landed ,it is still in the air approaching the airport. Lifetime subscription and whenever deleting the last manually added travel information it says it is synching , you need to quit the app so it stops synching. 1-Your 2023 review does not get deleted and stuck there forever and 2-Do you need help also is stuck on screen. 3-Also found out that it tries to get my other iCloud account email account (although now that it is blocked) . I think when I got this app was to follow planes and not to book hotels and other stuff. Over the years a simple working app is bloated by information we don’t need. The Apple Watch app does not work !!!

Great App. I’ve not been traveling enough lately to justify the paid version yet, but it’s been great to keep documents in one place. I like the maps and stickers and trip data aspect of it. I’d like to see it take the profile stuff a little further and add a trip log for writing about the trip, and have the option to keep it private or post it to share with other travelers. Over all, it’s pretty much unrivaled in what all it can do. Update: I have the pro version now and it’s pretty comprehensive. Being able to add documents to all the trips and append hotel and car rental information in addition to notes on each trip pretty much hits everything I need. Looking forward to playing around more with it.

Amazing concept, but lots of bugs. This app’s concept and idea is great and I’m really excited to see what they have in store b/c I can see this app improving and developing in many ways. The opportunity with this app is great, I really hope the developers get on top of these bugs and maybe apply a cleaner interface on the home screen, as well as an option to create folders to organize flights. P.S. The automatic video of flight history has a lotttttttt of work needed to it but I like the idea. I could see it turning out really interesting and fun. The AR feature is easily the most fluid and appealing feature of this app

What happened to the developer now?. I been using this app for many years, and been a paid member since the the beginning. The app used to be good, but now it won’t show up useful information on time, such delays and gate changes, while its competitors definitely do better now. There is no support to see the Taxi time, the take off lineup, not even the arrival airport Terminal. The main UI have so many issues like the other comments mentioned, its just confusing and disappointing to use. I am switching to the other app to keep tracking my flights live, the only reason i am keeping this app in my phone is because my flights history.

One of the top two travel apps ever made!. App in The Air is my second favorite travel app ever (the first, and in my opinion the best is Flighty). While most of the REALLY good travel apps have “upped their game”, App in The Air and Flighty have gone above and beyond to stand out and supply you information that is not only useful, but also necessary, accurate and nicely displayed. I’m a premium subscriber to both apps and I believe that paying for the premium subscriptions is well worth it, if you fly more than a couple of times a year. It’s also worth noting that the “really good” travel apps (such as these) spend a lot of money to provide their apps with the timely and accurate data feeds that provide the end user (that’s me and you) with all of this detailed travel information that we’re seeing.

Lackluster features. With the unfortunate change in feature tiers, and the pricing that I paid last year for a year subscription, I do not feel like it is worth the money. I had written a review earlier, which seemingly has been deleted by the company, that requested live activities, and other features be brought to the service. The response I received was that it will be coming within the next couple of days. This was over a week ago. These promised and requested features still are not part of my pay tear, and my prior common still stand that the subscription for the service is not worth the money. The stated response from AITA from my last review claimed …” The next release should be in the days, and it will bring the long waited "Live Activities" feature.” I do not know what happened to my prior review, however I stand by my disappointment in both the cost of the subscription and the features that it contains. I’ve been sitting on the year subscription and there have been hardly any updates as promised to my tier, which leads me to not resubscribe. It’s unfortunate that this company has not backed their claims and promises from our conversations.

Great App, recent UI changes need to be fixed. I’ve been using (and paying for this app) since 2015. I tell everyone about it and I’ve loved tracking my work flights. A lot of the recent UI changes look nice on the surface but they’ve limited old functionality. - Why can I no longer see the flight number on the “My Trips” page without clicking on the trip. I fly on a few different airlines and I would use that at a glance to see which airline the trip was on and how long my layovers were - The map no longer shows which routes you fly the most. They used to be color coded. Now everything is white - The video time lapse at the end of the year used to be the coolest feature. When I posted it on Facebook, tons of coworkers were interested in trying this app themselves. A few years ago the developer changed it to a giant map of the globe. I only fly in the US for work, so the video map looks silly now. I wish it would only show the parts of the world you fly in.

Useful App, but.... I’ve been using this app for over a year now. Even though I’m overall happy with its performance and its ability to pull booking information from my email and calendar accounts, it’s missing a few “little things.” I’d love to have the ability for the app to either pull or let me manually add additional hotel and rental car information when my trips are broken up within the same travel stays. An example: I’m traveling to NY this month. Staying on Staten Island a few days then, moving across the river to stay in Manhattan. I have two hotels and two rental cars booked during my but, the app only either allows or shows only one car and one hotel. Like I said. Little things.

Hit and miss. Automatic checkin was really handy on my first check in, but on my second it changed my pre-selected “main cabin extra” seat 8A to 25C (which shouldn’t even have been possible if I *didnt* have a pre-assigned seat given my auto checkin preferences). That makes auto check-in useless (I had to go into the American app and reselect my seat, which was fortunately still available). For flight info and updates it’s handy: automatically detected my reservations from my email so there was no data entry. It didn’t pick up the correct seat assignment from my American Airlines reservations (e.g. 12F instead of 12B somehow on one flight), but it was easy enough to edit that, and I’d use my boarding pass on the plane anyway. It also let me know about a lounge at STL I didn’t know about before, although it wasn’t in the terminal I was going to. It’s managed to replace Kayak as my source of flight info, although Kayak is free. I hope auto checkin gets more reliable, because it would be handy if I could trust it to not thoroughly screw up my prepaid seat assignment.

Great info/interface, Poor database coordination. I was very excited when I first read the reviews and downloaded/opened the app: great, intuitive, and slick interface, useful data, and the opportunity to upgrade for additional useful features at a reasonable price. However, I was sadly disappointed by the weak database integration. Well over half of the flights that I wanted to enter did not populate using the airline, flight number, and date; I needed to enter these flights manually, including the time of departure and time of arrival. These were a mix of domestic and international flights, mostly on AA, but also involving other carriers: there was consistently weak access. Please note that my test of some 10 flights was mostly historic; but, all within the last 2 months. This is an app that I would love to use. However, it is not yet ready for me. Update 24 Dec 2017 I keep playing with the app: I want to find justification to use it. But, unfortunately, my update is to indicate that what I had indicated to be over half of the flights entered did not sync with the database proved to be a gross underestimate. Of the 44 flights that I logged into the system for 2017, no more than six or seven were recognized: all others needed to be entered manually.

Really helpful app!!. I was researching what apps to use for my upcoming trip to Florida and I had a layover so I figured it was best to be prepared Incase any gate changes happens. This app was the best thing I’ve ever downloaded because the day before I was flying out, it already had what gate my flight was departing from. The best thing was that the night before the flight it told me what gate and number my flight was departing from, what gate my flight was landing at, and what gate + number my other flight was departing from. Not even the own airline had all of that information!! The airline just told me the basics like what gate Im supposed to be at, not the number. Will definitely remember this app whenever I’m flying. Thank you so much, don’t know how you guys get that information but it’s very useful!!

Good app but some UI improvements needed. I fly >100k miles a year with a mix of international and domestic destinations. This app is great to predict potential delays and also track my overall progress and other stats (types of planes, milestones, etc). The only negative is how it displays the current flight status as tiles where I have to swipe to see the anticipated arrival gate, etc and the location of the plane midnight doesn’t provide a map since I’m not hooked up to the internet. This is where Tripit and FlightRadar24 best this app out respectively. Tripit provides a really quick snapshot of what I have to do and where I need to go. While FlightRadar pretty much provides near real time data on the plane among other things. True, flightradar also needs WiFi, but it provides far more useful information when connected such as weather along the flight path, where other flights are coming from, etc. I typically use this app, flightradar, and Tripit to predict delays. I wish there was one app.

Essential for air travel. Look, planes are hard. I’ve been flying my whole life, and I’ve seen both best-case and worst-case scenarios in air travel. You can never guarantee the best, but App in the Air gives you the tools to avoid the worst. Ticket info, boarding pass, flight times, delays, local weather and traffic conditions, airport/airline info, and especially travel timelines are all necessary to have, but keeping track of it all (and more) is awfully stressful. App in the Air does it all for you, meaning you have less to worry about. I figured out for myself through repeated failure that worry is its own sort of baggage on airplanes. It’s cumbersome, unnecessary, and should be minimized wherever possible. To that end, App in the Air is a flyer’s best friend!

Had High Hopes. I really wanted to love App In The Air.. I’ve had on-going issues with the booking tab not appearing on my app I have to delete the app and re-login for it to appear and then it ends up disappearing again. It’s kind of a race to even look up flights or book before it disappears all over again. I have no idea why this is happening support has tried to fix that for me and they’ve been great to work with. however, even after this most recent update it is still missing… hopefully one day it will work but for right now it’s giving me those issues which really makes the user experience faulty.

Gave me the wrong terminal in Dubai!. If it was any other airport this wouldn’t be a huge deal but in Dubai you could miss your flight. My flight was in Terminal 3 but the app said terminal 2. I went to terminal two just to find out that that was incorrect and had to come back to T3. Mind you, terminal 2 and 3 are not close to each other in Dubai. They are not connected by shuttle buses or a tram system between them. I had to get another Taxi and drive about 10-15’ to T3. If I didn’t give myself enough time by heading to the airport early it could have been a worse outcome. All in all though I really enjoy this app and would recommend it.

Even the Free Version is Good. I had a great flight tracker app that went defunct and I've been searching for a replacement. This is it! I receive updates for flights as they happen, gate changes, and baggage claim information. On other apps they use Google Maps for the airport maps and that drives me crazy. AppInTheAir has stand alone maps which are easy to use and load immediately. They also give me info about shops and restaurants in the terminals. This app does everything I was having to use multiple apps for. I am very satisfied with it and will probably buy the lifetime pay version!

It doesn’t work the way I want. I haven’t used this app in a while so I wasn’t aware of all the changes. It use to be perfect for my setup but now it’s not working the way I would like it to. I use Trip It to gather my flight info from my email then I use Flight In The Air to automatically get that info from Trip It but App In The Air only imported my hotel. I could manually enter the info but I defeats the purpose of this app. If this happens again, I’ll probably have to delete this app because I’m not too fond of the new UI anyway.

Crowdsourced?. I downloaded this app to use with my Apple Watch, and it was marginally helpful on my first trip to easily see my gate number (which I confirmed at the airport). For my return flight I arrived at the airport very early and saw my flight get delayed several times. The app didn’t have that current info, so I “reported” a delay. The app immediately updated the delay in the app. Does this mean they get their updates from crowdsourcing? How do I know I’m getting current actual information? Where does the data come from? There is no source listed in the app description. My conclusion is this is partially useful but unreliable, and certainly not something I would pay for. I’m cancelling my trial.

For Anyone Who Flies. This app makes traveling even more fun than it already is (and/or more fun when it isn’t). The information is updated automatically when possible, the design is so so friendly, and everything is easy to see and interact with. I only fly a few times a year (for now), but I still love this app. You get to see stats like how much time in the air you’ve had and a 3D AR map, which is really unique and creative! I also have to shout out Alex from the support team, it was great to be able to connect with a human and communicate easily when a very minor issue arose.

Fix the issue with delay status.. Great app, but, you don’t allow users to update delay status unless we immediately state such within minutes of original departure. When my flight is 10 minutes delayed you block users from updating and the stats to show an accurate departure which screws up the purpose of the app. Please allow us to manually update delays for up to a couple hours after the original flight time (or longer). When my flight is delayed 10 minutes and I try to update the delay (as we’re waiting) the user is locked out from applying an update! Quick fix for a major annoyance. Thanks. Update: Developers day they will fix this...

Good app. Helps me keep track of all my flights.. Update: Actually more of a request, since I’ve noticed the developers read reviews. I would love to be able to select which alerts/notifications the app sends. There are SO MANY, starting as early as three days before departure. I’d love a menu that would let me pick and choose what alerts pop up on my phone. Still a five star app, without question. Thank you. Original review: I’m doing a new review after several updates. I’m really happy with this app—it keeps getting better. It’s base function is to keep track of all my flights, including airlines that don’t play well together. It feeds me gate info, gate and time changes, once it even let me know a flight had been cancelled before the airline did. The interface with the Apple Watch is great too. The “complication” on the watch is surprisingly helpful. Pretty much tells you where to go next and how long you have. Haven’t tried the automatic checkin yet, but I appreciate the alert when it’s time to checkin online.

Needs a lot of work. I downloaded the app in order to try it out (and had to give my credit card information to do so - very bad) and tried it with a trip I’m on now. The SMS alerts, the part I find most useful, are wrong and annoying. I got a message two days before my flight saying check in was open. It wasn’t until a day before the flight. I received many messages yesterday, the day of my first flight, telling me that the arrival terminal had changed. It hadn’t and one would have been enough. I got one of those at 1:30 in the morning, around 12 hours after I had arrived. During the day yesterday I received this series of messages, in this order: arrival terminal changed, flight landed, status changed to landed, arrival terminal changed, (after 5 hours) flight takes off in 15 minutes, arrival terminal changed, (at 1:30 am) arrival terminal changed. Too many problems, more annoying than helpful.

Fun & Informative. This app helps make some of your business travel more fun by showing you maps of where you have flown and how much time you have spent in the air; how many aircraft you have been on, and how many airports you have been to (among many other things). It also has some useful features like automatic check-in and flight tracking. I really like the app and have used it for a couple of years now. I recommend it for business travelers, especially those that like to track metrics in their life (like steps, .etc).

Good, but tries to do too much. Very handy. However, I have the impression that to fully utilize the functionality it needs a _lot_ of sensitive access - for example, I found its import from Tripit wasn’t complete when I added plans to Tripit after my initial connection to the service. That is all I’m willing to give it now. Also, it’s kind of a hacker’s playground. I see the features, but I’m too technical to want to find out what doesn’t work without knowing how things are implemented before I spend time (and get “locked in” to) a new thing. I wish the documentation was better, but I realize that most people will just be sold on it and give it a try without my level of expectations and privacy concerns. To wit: I’m wary about letting any app simply try to parse through my email continually looking for travel receipts. If it is possible (and it may be, but wasn’t obvious) to set up an address just from which plans could be email-forwarded (as with Tripit) it would be a fine alternative. If I were paying for Tripit’s subscription features, and it was clear I could set up an address as mentioned above (accept and process forwarded mail, but you aren’t getting credentials to pull from that account), I’d be very inclined to drop Tripit for App In The Air, but my needs at this point don’t justify it. I like the app, wish you luck, and will look forward to seeing it get better.

Great app but not updated correctly. Had this app for awhile great and easy to use Just sometimes it doesn’t update the correct departure times and like now tells me to check in , but all our flights are cancelled RE COVID 19

Issues with adding Memberships. Having connection errors when adding loyalty memberships. And current ones no longer show status or points. 😩

Longtime user. I started using this app way back when it was first released and have been an extremely satisfied user ever since. I recommend it to my friends and family during their travels and use it myself for every single trip I’ve booked since I started using the app. Love love love it!

Some past trips are missing or have dates messed up. Some past trips have been mysteriously disappeared, but I don’t have any memories of deleting them. Many other trips had wrong dates. e.g. Some dates are moved several years prior to the actual trip dates. So if the app cannot keep the records right, why bother using it anyway? I have noticed this bug for a while, and there’s no sign it has been fixed. Update: App in the Air team contacted me concerning the issue. They didn’t find anything.

Excellent app. This app is perfect for me and will replace several other travel apps I’ve been using in the past. This in now my go to app for all my business and leisure travel!

Now my go to travel app. I used to use Tripit all the time but have now moved to this one . Love all the added features and interface. Also works with my Apple watch and all my other devices witch is excellent ! The only down side is I still find it easier importing trips to Tripit who h then syncs with app in the air.

Disappointed. The app isn’t able to cope well with time zones, international travel, importing flights predictably or changes (or cancellations). It has overwhelming notifications and is not intuitive as to managing those. Lost 2 months of data trying to get rid of notifications. It’s probably useful for an occasional flyer but I would be hesitant to rely on it if you fly interstate and internationally frequently & often change plans at short notice.

So helpful. Really like it. Picks up my flights from tripit. Updates are lightning fast. I had one gate change that came up on this app before it was announced at my gate. I was half way to the new gate when it was broadcast. Seems to have very accurate information. Fun looking back at journeys completed.

Date incorrect. Really like the app however the date is always 24 hours wrong and notifications show 24 hours earlier than they should. Is there somewhere this can be amended

Great simple interface. Great simple app that clearly shows you the time to all the majority phases over flying, checkin boarding, fight and time to landing with your gate and other details 👍👍👍

Probably the best support for an app I have encounterd.. Works very well, but of note is that the tech support for this app is exceptional. Had an apple watch syncing issue which was promptly resolved with an update.

Love the new layout!. Thanks for the continued work to make it easier for people like me to organise travel plans. Looking forward to international travel to resume from Australia so that I can use it more!

Excellent. Flight updates very helpful especially when boarding gates change frequently and flights can be delayed.

Flying. Love this app, can watch other flights come in and know where they are...... also love the offer of a lounge, gate getting to airport and hanging around for hours..... utilized the lounge and if I had be known there was a shower I would’ve used it as well all round great spp

Deleted immediately. No option to create a simple account with email and password. They are asking access to your accounts like Apple, Gmail, Hotmail etc. Knowing that the owner is russian I would never give them access. I think all these 5 starts are fake reviews. UPDATE: They suggest me to give this app access to my inbox. Can you believe that? Openly asking to scam you. Where is Apple now?

Good App but. It is a great App but it has flaws. It is not importing all flights from my FF program. It does some but not all. Recently it stopped syncing KrisFlyer 100% and no matter how hard I tried, it wouldn’t sync with Garuda. Also it won’t link to Qantas FF, it keeps trying to do so in a loop where Qantas within the app keeps asking for date of birth, security question and confirmation number that Qantas has sent. So then I have to manually enter flights which is a bit of a pain when it should sync. Frustrating stuff that really brings the rating down.

Not what it used to be. I loved this app and used for a long time. Now you can’t check any flight stats without paying a premium price. I would be ok with $10 a year but $50 is too much. Also all my hotels are now showing I’m my trips page. I already use TripIt for this. I used this app purely for flights only. Not being able to see just my flights and access my flight stats means I will now just use TripIt from now on.

Best flight companion. I struggle to imagine flying without this app anywhere anymore. Import works 99% of the time for me and I can always seamlessly find all the information I need for a flight. Extra features such as SMS notifications and reminders to leave to the airport are a delicious cherry on top of the cake. Excellent support, thank you

A Few Hiccups. Great app. The only thing I would say is that I was tracking a friends flight and it had her in the air when she was texting me to say her flight had been delayed. There is a lag between what the app says and what is real

Not good in Australia. This app is a great concept. Unfortunately it never updated changed flights and having issues importing from anywhere. Always have to add manually all my flights that makes having the app redundant, might as well I just add them to my calendar that works and syncs just fine.

Very useful!. Very useful, the real time updates in particular are great. The ui refresh is also great. The developers are very responsive and eager to help which is something I always appreciate. Highly recommended!

Not for Australia. Apart from the fact it doesn’t function well within australia, it’s biggest flaw is it’s updating of flights as you book them. I booked a flight 2 days ago, and it still hasn’t shown up in my flights list, even though I asked to import from the flight app itself, which then just adds it again in the loyalty program. Many better apps are available like TripCase, which are way better at the job.

Very clever, essential tool for travellers. Nice integration to loyalty programs and TripIt. Helping to keep me on time and where I need to be at all times during my crazy life of regular business travel. Developers are also highly responsive if you have any questions.

Get your flights in order. If you fly frequently enough, and happen to have connections, this app will help you sort through the mess. The app by no means perfect, but it's very very useful.

Always use this app. I love this APP, I like to track my visitors when they're coming to stay or if I have colleagues traveling for work, this app gives me piece of mind for if flights will be on time or if they're early or delayed. I always use it!

Does not update flight changes. Imported my flights from Trip it and none of them updated when they were cancelled. I was still getting checkin alerts and was even told my flights have taken off!! My understanding was that once the flights are imported then they would be tracked from that point on until they ended. From my recent experience it seems they are imported and just go through the motion of checkin reminders and take off times. Support advised since I imported from Trip It they do not have an updated status. All of these flights were also in Trip It which correctly monitored the flights and advised they were cancelled. I contacted support to advise of this and all they did was make changes in the back end to update these flights. The interface is nice, however the updates are disappointing.

Invaluable travel aid!. This app as changed my travel life! No longer do I need all the airline apps as I can put all my flights on a single app and see all the details (including booking numbers)! The stats are a nice touch and the badges encourage travel further and wider! Sometimes the alerts can be hit and miss, so don’t necessarily rely on it for the uptodate departure times/delays. All in all, phenomenal app and made my life (and my family’s) much easier! Thanks!

Very slick. I travel a lot for work so minimising inconvenience is more important than being excited however this app is so lovely it makes all travel a pleasure

A great travel companion. I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and I love it. Information at your fingertips when you’re travelling is key to a good trip and when I know about delays and cancellations before they are announced at an airport, I’m ahead of the game. Also, the profile map that shows my trips is pretty awesome...

Excellent, all flights in one location. It’s so good to have everything in one app. You can see all your trips on one screen, importantly layovers as well. Updates quickly, any issues with trips loading , then their support is fantastic, big shout out to Alex!

Great App for Flight Attendants. Love this app! Just a suggestion when scrolling down the future flights and past flights, it can get confusing which one is which. Maybe change the past flight colour to a grey so you can easily tell the difference.

Is this app working?. Is this app working any more - atleast for last one year I have not been able to add flights. Even now I was trying to add manually my flights for upcoming travel but the app doesn’t show the flights - WG: TG 476 from sydney. What’s wrong with this app?

My “go to” travel app. I use App in the Air for all my business and leisure travel. It gives me all the information I need in one place and the fastest and easiest means of sharing and notifying others of my travel. I love the travel recap video option too

Brilliantly designed app!. I love this application. It imports flight information out of my email box straight into the app and provides live flight information amongst a whole lot of other great features. It is excellently designed. The support provided by the developers is also excellent which generally indicates a solid commitment to the product.

Accurate and dependable. Love using this app. I check any flights my loved ones are on and I know (usually before they do) if there are any flight delays!

Review. I do love this app and now travel is starting back will get good use of it again however I find it a little frustrating that I keep getting email reminders about check ins for flights that that been cancelled or removed and not showing in my profile so not sure why they still come through and with many cancellations and reschedules it's something that maybe needs looking at. Otherwise would have rated higher.

Two thumbs App in the Air ; ). A handy way to keep all of your upcoming travel plans in order. Effortless syncing with your email inbox/flight confirmations makes setting up the app a breeze.

Problems solved. Had an issue after the latest update where more than half my flights had disappeared off the map. Thankfully I had Vladimir from the team assist with getting the issue rectified. Vladimir was contacted through support, and he fixed every issue I was having with the app. P.s. the new skin of the app looks fantastic. Keep up the great work guys!

Functional and Fun. I’ve used App in the Air going on nearly 2 years now. It’s been a fantastic tool for both keeping my current flight information, regardless of carrier, front and Center, whilst also providing a fun way to look back at your history and flight stats. The app is easy to use, integration is a breeze and thorough information is available throughout the entire flight journey, from planning to landing. I’ve yet to use the premium features as a lot of the features don’t seem to correlate to what Australian airlines offer, but I’m going to be giving it a go on my next journey. The statistics are also great to look back on and has re-invigorated my desire to travel, I only wish something like this was available for long distance train travel 😭 Lastly, I’ve emailed the support times on numerous occasions to check information or ask for corrections, I’m pretty sure I’ve added about 20 hours of work for the design team on aircraft liveries alone (see the aircraft section of the upcoming trips area). The team have always responded promptly and been very courteous to my questions. This app is a must use for the frequent traveler, the thrifty flier and the stats nerds!

Excellent app even for unfrequent fliers. I use the app every 6 months for holidays and it works well everytime. Tracks my flights well, notifications are given in abundance so I won’t miss anything. It even remembers all the past flight history. Great!!! Would recommend it to any traveller.

Love it. It’s a very cool app which tells you everything you need to know about your flight. It’s a bit hard to find my flights sometimes , and can’t go back to ones I just want to add up. But other than that it’s good!

The best yet. I’ve used a number of similar apps in the past and this is easily the most thorough. Setting it up to your liking can take a little time but this is the nature of apps that provide significant optional information. For instance, I don’t normally need to be informed of changes to my arrival gate (when I’m arriving at familiar airports) but it’s nice to know that the option is there if I need it. I use TripIt to import my travel details and it works seamlessly. I’m also pleased that AITA can import historical data and provides an overview of your travels in an interesting way. A little bit of fun doesn’t do any harm. I bought a lifetime subscription as I was so impressed with the app and its killer feature - automatic check-in. You just give the app some details like seating preference (front of the plane, aisle seat) and it will check you in when the time comes. Just one less thing to do manually. Also, not requiring a data connection when overseas (subscription required) and getting SMS notifications is very handy when travelling. I initially had a problem with a subscription but the developer is very responsive and provided a solution quickly (thanks Nikita).

Terrific App.. Does as it says. I’m having a lot of fun tracking my flights and all the other little details. Updated regularly. Has a bunch of features you can switch on or off. Especially useful if you travel a lot. Hopefully the updates make it only better and not ruin it over time like what usually happens. I love the world map showing your history. I also like the way you can add all the past flights from before you got the app. Shows you the flights & other details in real time, even in flight mode. After using the free version I decided to pay. It was expensive, more than I’d ordinarily pay but personally I’m pretty happy with it. Recommended.

Great Travel Companion. This app has been a fantastic addition. Up to date information, can store travel documents and even record travel expenses. Love it!

Incredible app for frequent travellers. I’ve been using App in the Air for the past year to manage the frequent travel I do as part of my employment. It’s made managing travel much easier by being a central portal for all travel related activities.

Great app for flight tracking and updates. All flights are automatically added from TripIt and the updates are excellent, especially with the subscription and easy to use option of sharing with friends/family so they know if you’re late - or early! Just a few bugs to get sorted with duplicated flights. Support has been very responsive and the issue is being worked on.

Nice little app after flight. Unfortunately the link to Virgin Velocity is very unstable I can no longer use the app before flying but it is a good record of where you have been when it does finally sync Developer was advised and provided with requested information approx 2 months ago with no further communication.

Great app. Been using this for few years. Very valuable and kept me up to date song my flights

Wants access to all your data, naggy and pushy. Does what it says, as long as you give it access to much more personal info than what is needed for tracking a few flight. Constantly nags to upgrade to premium. Does work though. +4 stars for functionality, -5 for pushy attempts to get access to your email, social media, calendar, location, file services, address book, and who knows what else. +3 for a good attempt at an Apple Watch complication. Total 2 stars.

The travel companion. This is a great app for the traveler. It’s amazing way to keep on top of your flights and share with family and friends. I love the Apple Watch part to the app, being able to see at a glance how long till checking but moreover when on board with no internet, when you are estimated to land. For long haul this is great.

Wonderful App. This App is amazing. It does what it says it will do. Very glad I downloaded it. It is very handy for a traveler. Gives you so much info needed for your air travel. I highly recommend it.

Great app, subscription pricey. It's a very nicely designed app with useful features such as airport maps but in order to get push notifications about your flight you need to subscribe. A bit overpriced in my opinion, $40 for a year or $100 for lifetime.

AMAZING SUPPORT… and functionality. I have used App in the Air extensively for 4 years and it has worked flawlessly. However an upgrade to my Phone and IOS created a fault in my profile. I contacted Support to see if I could get it fixed and didn’t really expect much. However, the Support was fantastic. It turned out to be quite complicated, but Vladimir never gave up and after 20 emails over a few weeks, it was resolved today. Highly recommend the app for both functionality and knowing great support is available in the rare chance there is an issue.

Use to be good. After using this app for years it’s no longer worth having on my device since all my flight stars which use to be available are now only available with a subscription. Time for a new app.

Bonne app.. Tres agréable de pouvoir voir l’historique de mes voyages, et faire le suivi de mes prochains vols.

A little bug, Lynx Airline code Y9. Lynx Airline code Y9 doesn’t work or available, or it’s schedules are shown with the EQ Airline Code. Thanks

Great. Love this app Easy to use

Love it!. This is an excellent and interesting app ... And Nikita is so helpful and friendly if you have any questions at all! I'm an over-organized type A and this app gives me everything I could hope for.

Boycott Russian invasion of Ukraine. Tried on Apple Watch and on Phone but wouldn’t work in either with Sky airlines. Then found out it is a Russian company, so uninstalled as part of economic sanctions. Stop supporting companies that continue operations in Russia or are owned by Russians who aren’t speaking out against it and Putin.

Great app. Love this app. Apple watch content is also great. Notifications a bit pricey but spot on for flights.

Very nice. I use it mostly to track where I’ve been and not necessarily where I’m going… though if I do start flying around more I’ve no doubt that it will become very useful. Good app with excellent support too! edit: I love this app.... forgot how great it was because well.... no more travelling. haha. soon though. i never had the pro version so i don't know the full usefulness of it but if i ever start travelling for work again, i'll take a closer look.

Very fun to use. The app is very fun to use and track flights

App doesn’t work well. I fail to see the purpose of this app. It doesn’t automatically pull in any flights that I already have booked. I have to try to manually add each flight. I’m using the free version of the app and it doesn’t seem to do much other than just give me limited information that I already have access to in the airline’s own app. I can’t imagine why you would want to pay for this app when there seems to be nothing that it provides you that you don’t already get for free in the airline’s app.

Best App for Flying. Has a lot of good features of knowing gate changes before they are announced and love that the map work in the air in airplane mode. I would recommend this app for anyone that flies!!!

Heed Air Travel App. Clean and accurate!

Great 👍 App. I really love this App and I’m using since a decade. Go for it.

Not all in database. Returning from Halifax on June 20th 2022 and for a life of me can’t find my flight to add. Keeps adding some WestJet flight by default… I guess developers have some work to do… Cheers Andrew K

Don’t let Russia get your data. Not terrible but until Russia gets out of Ukraine I won’t be re-installing. It would be crazy to let a Russian company have your data.

Over promise and under delivery. The concept of the app is great and it promises many feature. The mail parsing fails miserably whereby the app only reads the first segment of the itinerary and ignores the rest. One must manually add the remaining segments. I registered my email address for mail parsing and sent my previous flights from FlightRadar24 in csv format but the 150+ flights won’t get added. The customer support is efficient and responsive but the issue still remains after more than a week of back and forth.

Good app, very useful.. Nice for checking flight times

Amazing app. I use App in the Air all the time! It makes flying really memorable and it's great fun to see your flight map expand.

Good solid app for tracking flights. Somewhat tricky to use at first.. 24 Oct 2017 UPDATE: Developer posted update 7.0.6 that fixed the installation/upgrade issues in 7.0.5. All good now. Thx! 22 Oct 2017 (Original review): 7.0.5 update won't install on iOS 10.3.3 Try as I may, I can't get the latest update to install on either an iPad Pro or iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.3.3. Update seems to run, but then throws an error pop up saying it can't install it. Perhaps a code-signing issue? The previous version works well.

Clumsy to use. The app tries to do everything automically from received emails, but you pay a heavy price… because it’s almost impossible to edit or core t information when necessary And it’s almost impossible to add new trip info in advance of actually booking. Overall, the frustrations form using it are greater than the benefits.

Application utile. Cette application me permet d’avoir a portée de main tous les informations nécessaires pour mon voyage. En plus, elle me motive à voyager encore plus à cause des gadgets que tu reçois à chaque accomplissement!

Less efficient. I’m using this app since a few years now, and since 6 months, the data are less accurate… I don’t get the update when a flight is delayed, which was the strength of this app before… Hoping this is temporary and will be fixed soon enough…

Most recent update bug. Crashes every time I try to export to my calendar. Feature worked perfectly before. Update: Yes the app now works correctly. Thank you for updating and fixing the App

Garbro. Excellent app!!

One of the best app for travellers. Clear understanding your flights, check-in time and departure. Nice and native integration with TripIt. Maps of terminals and updates. And the best option - you can go back in time and recall all your past flights. Good job of developers. Thank you! PS. Can you add a donate button? We don’t really travel nowadays, but I am sure there are people who will be happy to chip in a few bucks.

Amazing. I love the AR feature to show your travels like a presentation

My favorite app. As a full time traveller, this makes things SO easy. It uploads my airline tickets straight from my email with all the necessary info and organizes them by date. The feature that allows you to see everywhere you’ve been is unreal! Super cool, highly recommend it

Helpful and easy. I have to highly recommend this app for all travelers, frequent and occasional ones. All information gathering in one place from statistics of past flights via list of future flights to current information about gates, terminals and times + helpful live notifications of some changes. Love their map and globe visualizations of your all or sorted by years flights.

Relevant info. I like the related travel info provided, like entry requirements and or restrictions, based on my itinerary.

Easy to use. Easy to use

Excellent outil de voyage. Fait le tour du monde, fiable

Mostly good but there’s a bug in the statistics tab. Under the stats tab, when you tap on Airlines or Countries it will give you the list and full count for every one you’ve visited or used. But when you tap on the Aircraft category, it shows only the list of planes but not each time you’ve flown one like with the other categories. The numbers are only shown for the top three preview on the main stats page, not the expanded page when you tap on the Aircraft category.

Absolutely Perfect. This app is exactly what you need if you love to travel. It tracks everything and keep it in order for you to visually see the world. Is it along side Trip-It and you’ll always be ready for your next adventure

nice. Very good

Great app. All features are behind paywall.. I don’t mind paying for an app. But if your only choice is annual ($79.99) and Lifetime ($399.99) then this app is not made for me or anyone else I know that go on 1 or 2 trips a year at most. Hope a monthly / weekly pass gets added.

Wonderful app, kudos to the developers. I used BlackBerry Travel (WorldMate) extensively before using an iPhone and the shutdown of that service. App in the air has been a wonderful alternative. The developers have made this app a joy to use. Great little features like autodark/bright mode show attention to detail. It’s been easy to track my flights and Siri suggestions in spotlight and calendar integration is amazing. I would love to see this app continue for years to come.

Phenomenal app. Makes traveling easier and keeps my itineraries at a glance.

Statistics are back. After moving flight statistics to paid subscriptions, the developers decided to have them back for the free version so I’m rating the app 5 stars again.

Should be free. Why pay for info I can easily get from Google for free.

Had higher expectations. Gate info never given, said my flight was on-time and about to land soon when we still hadn't taken off... Needs a lot more work put into it. Glad I didn't buy the lifetime membership.

Forwarding mail. It can’t read pdf

Useful but the app made a mistake in my flight time. I like the app in general, however on my most recent trip it notified my of one of my connecting flights, but the app had the wrong date for the flight….not good Now I am being peppered with notifications about a flight on the wrong day. I added a family member to flight notifications and this wrong date issue has caused them a lot of confusion and frustration too.

Travel essential. This is the most helpful app you could have for travel. Happy customer over here

Bof....

Super. Parfait👍

Has everything you need. Very well thought out app. Love the instant check in function.

Absolutely love it. This is my #1 app when traveling. It has been improving a lot since I started using it. Continue adding new features to make it more useful every day. The only request I would like to make is to be more accurate when planes get delayed. I have been in 3 planes delayed in the past months and the app doesn’t work that well when these situations happen. Thank you

The best travel app that I’ve found. I love this app. It gives updates for everything and allows you to input data from even outside the app. My favourite thing about it is the updates you get during your travel, for example, boarding times, gate changes, when the flight is about to land and even reminders to get up and stretch during flight. I have no real complaints yet and am looking forward to see what the app does in the future. 👍🏽

Good app. It’s a great app I love I can keep track of my past flights since I flight a lot. I just don’t know why someone would have to pay to receive notifications, or to auto-check in. I mean, when you buy a flight ticket you receive an e mail sending you the information of the flight, on my iphone my calendar gets the info and keeps sending me information and notifications about the flight for free, I also can auto-check in on the airline’s internet page for free too, and so my family members. I know who created this good app need to get a profit for doing this but I just don’t see my self paying for something I already have for free. Besides that, is a good app I have used it more than 50 times, I would definitely pay to have it, but I will never pay for a subscription, it just doesn’t make sense.

Very good app but not excellent. I've been genuinely impressed with this app's overall efficiency and user-friendly interface, making it a go-to for my needs. However, I encountered a hiccup when trying to import my flights from the calendar a feature that just doesn't seem to work. Despite reaching out to the support team for assistance, I was disappointed by the lack of help provided. This issue aside, I still highly rate the app for its performance in other areas.

Merry Christmas to you all.. I just like to say. You know what your life looks like when you have your own way to make positivity louder and your future is a better life than the other things that were in there. Someone needs some help with the new business and a lot of things to do with my family this coming year . Merry Christmas and Happy is always the way I wanna see you. #F1st.#PositivityAlwaysWins

The only travel app you will ever need!. I have been using this app quite some time, and it has never let me down. It’s always check me in, it’s always given me timely play for in case changes usually even before I leave my first airport it’s telling me if my connection Is plan to be on time or early if you’re lucky. But if you travel this is a must.

Great UX and overall soliton but .... I think the overall idea of the app is fantastic. The UX between iPhone and Apple Watch is really good . I would appreciate if you can give me feedback about the following “limitations “: 1.- Import trips . i don’t want to give full access to my email (hotmail) to import trips . Why don’t you guys offer the possibility to receive the itinerary via email and then you guys import it to my app directly ? Others like TripCase do this very well . 2- Departure time vs Contdown When is see my flight details I do see a remaining time to fly like 4 hrs , 25 min instead of my departing time . . So when someone ask me , ey a what time is your flight I need to calculate back based to remember my exact despartirme time. Can you guys offer both options or at least the separarme time first ? 3- security issues to impart flight My Hotmail account doesn’t allow me to grant you access to my email so I cannot import my flights Thank you !

Privacy Nightmare, Cancelling Sub Cancels Trial. I’d have enjoyed running App In The Air through its paces for a couple weeks during the free trial period, but some functionality disappeared once I instructed the subscription management NOT to start charging me. Expense tracking stopped working. I had a general sense that this app demands WAY too much private information. It wants me Facebook, my Google, even my email and banking login info! What they call “manual” input of lodging info requires separately searching the hotel address to even save the info, a nuisance if someone else sets up the trip. I get that privacy is a lost cause these days, but at least give users the clear and simple option to manually type in info, search for and locate hotels whether booked or not I really wanted to love this app. After hitting multiple roadblocks, and having been spanked (through diminished functionality) for not permitting the automatic rollover into a paid subscription (HATE the subscription model, btw!) I’ve now deleted it.

Good but not the Best. This app is pretty decent. It has great, up to date info about almost anything I could want at a glance for my flight. However, the memberships area is confusing to me. Not only does it not have my primary company’s loyalty program (United Air Lines MileagePlus program) but it also doesn’t seem to do anything other than tell you you’re in that program. Can this be an area that fast links to the app? Or even just has the membership number? That would be super helpful.

Can’t say how much I love this app. It is the best travel companion, no other words about it. Not only is a great app with great features, developers actually listen to feedback and implement features. I requested one feature once, got a reply from their team, and after a few months the new feature was there. Can’t travel without it app anymore.

Great Concept, still needs work. I love the concept and all of the information in one place and largely hands off, but it still seems to be fairly glitchy. It doesn’t handle cancellations and flight changes well without manual intervention, and I seem to occasionally get notifications for flights I’ve never booked (wrong date) or wrong times for flights. Just this weekend the notifications for my outbound flight were two hours off and then I started getting notifications for my return flight the wrong day.

Amazing app, but can you please fix the bug in the new version?. An app that you must have if you often fly - a lot of useful information about your flight! Moreover, it keeps a track of all your flights and shows your stats for each year. The new version is constantly lagging and keeps crashing when it just opens - can you please fix it?

like an ultra-efficient secretary. this app was great when it first came out but it’s incredible now with all of the added features- i’ve come to depend on it whenever i travel especially since i get notifications about delays and flight changes faster than from any other platform or service (including the airlines themselves). aside from not cluttering important flight information, i’m glad that the app makes it easy to figure out what the relevant weight limits/flight restrictions are per carrier. with flight details, it works a treat with the apple watch app since it means i have all of the information i need on my wrist and no longer have to fumble through a litany of emails, texts and websites. more complications for the watch would be awesome.. but otherwise great job!

Fantastic tech support. I encountered a minor issue related to a loyalty program and contacted support. Michelle P went over and above what I expected, including interfacing directly with the airline to resolve it. I really like the app and would use it for more, like booking flights, but I work in Mexico and must pay in pesos to be reimbursed. Best way to keep track of everything related to air travel that I have found.

Subscription doesn’t make sense for most. I like this app for the most part. I like glancing at my Apple Watch and seeing how long a flight has left. But since I travel 2 to 3 times a year, the subscription model makes zero sense. I would be happy to toss a few $ for a causal version to get live updates, but not at the cost of $3 a month. Maybe $3 for 10 flights or something. I wonder how much money they lose because casual travelers won’t pay for a subscription when they only need a few flights. Obviously they are only targeting frequent flyers with their subscription

Price is more expensive in app than directly with airline. Tried booking a flight from Chicago to Harrisburg, and the prices I was seeing in app were always 5-10% more than the ones I saw in google flights. Maybe they are pocketing the difference or their data is wrong. Either way, it does not give me confidence to book with them. Also choosing which class I want is not straightforward, with the info not matching the airline website, so it’s not clear what upgrades I’m paying for (like is seat selection included? Is “premium” seat selection included? Etc).

Just what a traveler needs. I wanted an app to track my. Various flights, allow for easy sharing, and help consolidate and automate check-ins and travel info. This does everything needed and has been excellent. The one time I had a hiccup, support worked through the issue and resolved everything quickly for me (thank you Alex N). I just wish I had this a few years ago.

More complex than necessary and too intrusive. Account creation seems to be more complex than necessary. I got all the way to the end and it kicked me back to the beginning. My colleague had the same experience so i don’t think it was user error. I also don’t like how it requires you to enter email account info or loyalty programs (with passwords) in order to create itineraries. One more place where private info can get hacked. I prefer Kayak. I forward my flight, hotel and car rental confirmations to Kayak and it automatically organizes my itinerary. And, when I arrive in a foreign country, I can tap on the hotel info and it gives me an option to show the address to the taxi driver, their language- super helpful in Japan and China. All-in-all, AitA is a decent traveling app but not the best, in my opinion. Unless collecting honor badges for each country you visit is important to you.

Best App Out There. I’ve never written an app review but this is my favorite iPhone app and watch app. The notifications are FASTER than the individual airline apps. I’m shocked but it’s amazing! And it makes traveling fun. If you have the watch I recommend making a travel watch face with this in the center. Then you just glance at your wrist and it automatically tells you the time plus how long until you board/land/takeoff. Sweet!

Used to be good. No longer is.. In the last year or so, this app has gone from decent to horrible. Their flight database is not regularly updated. When scanning boarding passes or manually entering flight detail, the information added is incorrect. I personally I am on multiple flights each week and the information they have in their database on major carrier’s flight numbers and routes is incorrect. having provided them with multiple examples of this, the response received is always “The carrier it failed to update our database for us.“ honestly, what major air carrier, or any carrier for that matter, is going to update a third-party apps database on flight detail?

Moving backwards in interface. I’ve always found this app very helpful in organizing my “flight life” but the recent updates in look and feel are like ten steps backwards, with lots of extra taps to see information that was previously readily available. For example, it’s disappointing to have to now click in to see the details of itineraries that were previously conveniently laid out on screen. Similarly it is extra effort to look up details of upcoming itineraries and other individuals’ itineraries. I appreciate the effort to improve the app, but “fixing” the things that aren’t broke isn’t an improvement.

Most useful travel app. I travel 3-4 times a month, so I spend a lot of time in travel apps. I typically use TripIt to track my travel info, but it is not very real-time. I just discovered App in the Air and love that it brings in flight info from TripIt and adds a lot of additional information. I haven't tried the auto-check in yet, but will do that for my next trip. I don't fly Southwest a lot, but that could pay for the subscription alone if you can get a good boarding position.

Best airline app!. Have used it for almost 3 years and love it. I am a lifetime member. It keeps excellent tracking of your flights and it is fun to replay the 'video' of your trips. Tracks time to boarding, departure, arrivals and everything else you will ever need. Customer service is excellent and fast responses give you confidence in the technical team of developers. Frequent travelers who use United/American need to petition their airlines to allow input of data! Excellent APP, very pleased with the value. JT

Visually Cluttered, Gives the Wrong Type of Information. I don’t really get the excitement over this app. Visually it’s a mess. It’s difficult to find the important information that you need, and most of the time the information you need is only given in and indirect way. It never just tells you basic things like what time boarding starts. Instead it tells you how many minutes from now boarding ends. So you need to try to extrapolate from that how far from now boarding probably starts, and then do the math to figure out what time that would be. This is not how anyone want a flight tracking app to work.

So far so good. Day 1 - all the data entry is worth the time and effort. The time I'm going to save in the airport so far is almost 30-40min. BUT, I've not had this app long enough to make an opinion worth reading but gimme a couple of weeks and I will.. stay tuned ............... 10 months later and I am really digging the app it’s not always the happiest app when it uses my google acct for sign in and itinerary parsing but for more good than bad. YOU MUST HAVE THIS APP IF YOU TRAVEL FREQUENTLY! I am on the road 9 months out of the year it does a lot for making the most time spent on where your at vs where your going...

Unintuitive. I agree with some of the other reviewers here: 'App in the air' is unintuitive and does not present clear information at a glance. When I have multiple same day flights it's somewhat unclear as to which flight I'm looking at and what information corresponds to their respective flights. The stand out feature of this app are the alerts which I have found to be very fast and clearly display what is occurring (for instance flight delayed for 30 minutes). The alerts have so far been reliable and the fastest of any of the flight apps I've tried so far.

Amazing UI/UX designers. Super intuitive app and absolutely PERFECT with an Apple watch. It is the most informative and helpful app I use. I think if we could get airport maps integrated into the application that would also be quite convenient with guiding you around to your gate and baggage claim. But I expect that to come with time and thh to e network effect coming into play.

Feature-rich but nags for paid upgrades.. This app contains a plethora of features and is immensely useful for travel but they utilize "dark patterns" in attempting to get you to sign up for a paid subscription. For instance, they ask you if you want to receive push notifications for your flight and if you click "Yes", iOS asks you to confirm your new paid subscription. Nowhere in the previous alert does it mention that push notifications are a paid subscription, but clicking "Yes" begins a checkout process for a fairly expensive subscription. This is just one example.

Doesn’t stay updated or have current info. I used this app on and off for a few months. I travel about 100 days a year. Google is the most consistent up to date flight tracker there is. Just type in airline and flight number, it’s not perfect but is way better than this app. Really wanted it to work especially with a watch feature but didn’t have gate info often when google did and google always seems to have the information first even before the airline app told me. I would constantly check google and that I for was updated, this app was not. Too bad, had potential.

Frustrating and disappointing. I got this app because it used to have one new feature, after plugging in all your flight info, it used to show you a video tracking your flight around the globe. With their latest update, they have scrapped that video, and instead just shows a short clip that has stats, then ends with a plug for the app itself. This is very disappointing. Also, when I input flights on this app, it forces notifications to my calendar, which I absolutely DO NOT WANT, and does not allow us the ability to turn that function off. Very annoying!

Continual improvements!. I think I’ve been with App in the Air for almost as long as I’ve had an iPhone, and it has just gotten better as the phones have gained more capability. Personally, I don’t use it for all of the flight updates and scheduling, but I do love to plug in my flights and see how many miles in the air I’ve garnered over the past 5 years. Here’s to a great app with a great future ahead of it!

Helpful in all sorts of ways. If you fly (even infrequently) on multiple different airlines, this app is an excellent go-to place to find basic info on your trips without having to jump around to multiple apps. Plus, its ability to store your flight history back quite a ways and visualize it for you is awesome!

This app has gone so far down in my opinion. It used to be that one could enter a flight number and it would bring up the flight; if there were two flights with the same number (going from point A to point B, and then returning from point B to point A), the app would give you a choice. Now, the app just argues with you. Case in point: DL 3736, leaving from BUR at 10:11 and flying to SLC. The app essentially tells me there is no such flight when, in fact, I am about to board it. This is so frustrating that I am on the verge of cancelling my premium subscription unless it gets fixed soon!

Very useful for organizing travel details. App In The Air is a “must have” for frequent travelers. This app is terrific at synchronizing hotel, car rental, and flight reservations into a well organized format. It also permits a user to track multiple hotel reward accounts in a single view. There is also a really neat way to share a summary of your travel on social media if you choose to do so. App In The Air is both useful and fun.

Confusing app. Hard to look for and follow basic travel info. To many messages prior to flight take off to review and clear. Stick getting this one because it looks like all the others have stopped making updates. I want to be reminded of flight take off and arrivals and what gates. As well be able to send info to family. This can send but I’m not sure how it looks when it does. Not user friendly at all. I hope they fix to Hebe a better experience. I travel a lot and I don’t find this app useful but again forced to use because my other ones faded out updates. I could go on and on about negatives, but I usually don’t do reviews.

Alert badge. When a notification happens the badge indicates it but when I clear all it does not change the badge indicator. Keeps display alerts. I have deleted app and reinstalled no change. I have a lifetime subscription and it is frustrating that I have to continually check if there are new notifications on my flight only to find there are none. That being said the app is great just let me know how to fix it as others may experience as well. Thanks

Pandemic Update. The COVID-19 pandemic has limited my use of the app due to travel restrictions from my employer. As things start to look a little better, I opened up the app and was pleased with all the new features that have been added over the past year. I have been playing with them and there are great features that have been updated or added. I look forward using the updates and app as air travel starts to open up. Exciting stuff.

This app locked data I input manually in an attempt to sell in app purchase.. This app was free for most of the features before so I manually input flight reservation number, ticket number, seat info, etc. Then the app developers updates the app to be subscription fee based (which I can understand that they need money). However, in order to force users to pay the subscription fee through in app purchase, they locked all the data access to those info (which I input manually and I do not think they own those data). This app has lost my trust.

True thankfulness. Thanks so much for this awesome app. The AR is helpful, and the flight automation is appreciated. Particularly, the option to see the globe at night was a great way to visualize gradients in light- generating population densities. AppintheAir does a fabulous job with flight updates and reminders. Given, grateful, and enlightened. Thanks for taking care of my client’s estate company and I hope you enjoy yourself today, every day, with us and family.

Request/suggestion. This app is amazing and I recommend it to everyone. Being a transit oriented person theres one feature that I constantly find myself wondering about. Adding train tickets. I often see gaps in my otherwise beautiful map of trips because I bounce between cities with trains(nyc to Boston, Paris to Bordeaux etc). If you could integrate train rides it would really tie it all together. Otherwise this is one of my favorite apps and literally the only thing I actually recommend about tracking frequently

Just download it and buy a lifetime subscription!. If you’re a frequent traveler and you are not using this app you are 100% missing out. This app has everything and in the cleanest interface and keeps track of your flight history and so much more. So worth the $50. I have been using the app for 8 years and it keeps getting better and better!

A must for traveling. Integrates with your Email for flight info.. I been using this app since it came out and it's nice to have all your flight info in one place. It's been improved over time and very easy You can integrate it with your email and TripIt (another great app) to pull your flight info and also shows you the stats of your flights over the years and to brag to your friends where you been.

Big Fan. I have been a fan of App in the Air since its conception. It was great before and has only gotten better at flight tracking. You do need to buy push notifications, but I think they present it in a way that makes sense. I travel about once every other month and just pop my flight info in after purchasing my tickets. This way I know where to look when the date approaches and I don't need to scour my emails for an itinerary.

Best travel to have. This app has made traveling so much more convenient with being able to keep all the details needed in the same place. The auto check-in feature is also really convenient with with airlines that use your check in timing to determine your boarding position. I also really enjoy that all my travel is automatically added to this app through my email. If you travel a little or a lot, this app will make the experience a bit easier.

Best travel app I’ve used and I’ve used many. I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and it is by far the most useful flight tracking app I have ever used, and I use pretty much all the big ones that are out there. The tech-support is also incredibly responsive and address issues within a day. I’d highly recommend this app to any frequent business travelers out there, along with a lifetime subscription that is well worth it for the additional features it provides.

Been looking for an app like this. Amazing app with an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Great visuals and very organized. One problem is that most Southwest flights are inaccurate when I input past flights. I think this is because there are multiple routes the same plane takes on a given day but it does not give me the option to choose the specific route on a given day when inputting a past flight. If this glitch can be fixed but this would be a five star review.

Better than the competion. Wish more free features were included.. I like this app. I've used a few like TripItPro and others. This is an all-in-one type app. Accurate and works with the iWatch but I'm not sure it provides as much value as it should. We're not business travelers otherwise I think the paid feature would be beneficial. For that reason we don't want to pay the fee. We travel often enough that this is a go-to app just wished some basic features like alerts would be included with the free version.

Recent update takes away FREE features. Loved using this app as I’ve used it since 2014. I’m not a heavy duty user but I like to see where I’ve been each year and where I’ve been in the current year. The map was a great feature. Well as of recent this feature is gone and now requires me to get a subscription. Not sure what other previous free features that may have been available that are now taken away. Will probably end up dumping this as I am not interested in getting a paid subscription.

Fantastic app!. This is the travel app you've been waiting for. It provides flight info, airport info, and even automatic checkin (which works). While other apps do this, it offers more than competitors like TripIt and tripcase with comprehensive travel tracking over time. I love seeing the miles flown, airports visited, airlines flown, plane types, countries visited and of course the map of it all. Thank you for bringing out this app and I hope everyone uses it!

My favorite flying travel app since Jan 2015. My favorite app for flying. I love how it keeps track but also I get alerts many times before the airlines app’s. It also tells me which gate I’m pulling into, maps of the airport (handy when it’s a new airport or big…that’s what she said), baggage carousel number, covid restrictions of countries, etc. Worth 10 stars!! And you get cute videos of a map of where you’ve flown. #appintheair
