5K to 10K App Description & Overview

What is 5k to 10k app? Constance, Billie and Sergeant Block are back in this follow-up to the award-winning Couch to 5K® training app (2012 Appy Award for best Healthcare & Fitness app). Designed to continue the training experience for people who finish the Couch to 5K plan, or for those who are already 5K-ready, this app uses motivating virtual coaches to get you ready to run a 10K (6.2-mile) race in 9 weeks and it is now available FREE!

Spend just 25 to 70 minutes, three times a week, for nine weeks, and you’ll be 10K-ready!

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The 5K to 10K coach you select talks to you during your workouts. To save your battery, 5K to 10K sends audio notifications when your screen is locked or another app is in use.

To be sure you hear the coach during your workout, please do the following:
• Turn on Notifications permissions
• Turn on the hardware ring/silent switch (no red showing)
• Turn your ringer volume up
• Turn off Do Not Disturb (swipe up for Control Panel and the moon button should not be white)
• Within the app, in Settings > Workout Options, be sure the Trainer Volume is up

Without granting notification permissions, during a workout you can click the lock icon at the top left to keep the app active and still hear the coach.

Please fix the bugs. I love the program and log, however, the app itself if very difficult to work with. Each time I exit the app to change my music it stops my workout and wants me to start over. Also, I wish there was an option to turn off the trainer and just use the timer. I use another app to actual map out my runs and distance and in the past with the 5K trainer was able to use both at one time, but I can’t with this one. It’s very frustrating.

Good app. I’m training for my first 10K and needed a simple app to vary the workouts and get me there. Like the voice prompts - just remember to take your phone off vibrate it they won’t work. Like the simplicity.

Doesn’t go through entire session. Recently finished couch to 5k. Started this one, but noticed it doesn’t take me through the entire time. Example, I’m on week one, workout 2. It is 5 min warm up, 10 min jog, 3 min tempo, 10 min jog, and 5 min cool down. It started with the 5 min, 10 min jog, but it only went 1 min tempo and went straight to 5 min cool down - even the 5 min cool down cut off before the time was up. This cut my time and distance down and was unable to meet my goal for today.

Great App. I love this series of apps. I have completed the couch to 5k and ran my first 5k in like 15 years. I am now on to the 5k to 10K. I like the new UI, however I cannot change the units from metric to US. When will this be available?

Love this program!. I’ve used the couch to 5k app to get back running after pregnancy and injuries, and now I’m using it to build up endurance for longer distances. I love that it eases the runner into safe progression. I would like to see: More integration with treadmill. When I manually add my distance it gives me a pop up that my stats are erased. This is ok as I track stats with other apps. More coaching during the run. For instance, I was distracted at the beginning of one of my runs and missed the instruction for what a tempo run is. As someone who didn’t do track in high school and basically just goes out and runs I don’t know what some terms are. I would have liked that instruction in my ear as I ran. Regardless, I feel like this is a safe progression that will keep me from being injured by overdoing it! I have recommended the couch to 5k to new runners and I’d recommend this one too!!

Great workout. Finished the couch to 5k program and wanted to keep going so this was the next step. Just finished my first week and love it. The ante has been upped and the runs are challenging and also rewarding. Love it

Good training app with some small hiccups. This app has been great for training. The only things I don’t like are that if you’re playing music through another app, the coach doesn’t signal out loud. I still get the notifications on my watch so it’s okay but I wish I could hear my pace and stats and such during the run too. Also I don’t like that it’s strictly minute based instead of distance based. It’s assuming I’m running a 10min mile so it ends at 60min for 6 miles. I’m a little slower than that so I won’t be at 6 miles by the end of this training. But it’s free and it’s training and I’m improving so overall it’s a good app and I’m happy with it.

Disappointed. I love the Couch-to-5k app! It works really well and has continually been updated over the years to maintain the high quality. 5k-to-10k, however, is really a let down. When I first used it a few years ago I liked it but it doesn’t seem to have been updated since. The distance I run is always significantly off. It cuts my five minute cool-down off after about one minute. The voice prompts don’t work consistently. After completing the first three weeks of the program, I’m ready to start over with a better 10k training app.

Love it but trainer hard to hear. It’s great that I can listen to my music or podcasts but even w the trainer volume up, they are very quiet and I often miss the cues to switch what I am doing.

Not “couch” to 10K but close. This app is great. I thought it was a couch to 10K and was surprised by having to run for 30 minutes straight on day one! It was just what I needed though, and I did it and I felt good and I’m still going here in week three! I love not having to think about anything other than my pace and route. The jog setting has a red color against a black screen that is hard to see in sunlight, but that is my only complaint. Thumbs up!

Not like the Couch to 5k version. This app is no where near the quality of their Couch to 5k app. That app got me to my first 5k! This one has left me having to re-run a couple of sessions because the app bugged out and quit during the run. Very frustrating. I miss Runicorn as well. I’ll be finding a new 5k to 10K trainer. Very disappointing when compared to their previous app.

Bugs. The Couch to 5K program was great. This one has a lot of bugs in it. Starting with acing to watch an ad when you want to use it. I’d rather just purchase it with no ads. Second when you start a run you never know which one you will get. Today I tried to start Week 2, day 2. But it gave me “Open Run”. Third it doesn’t prompt you when you are suppose to change cycles. Just to name a few

Please fix the bugs!. I L-O-V-E-D the couch25K app. Completed it & enjoyed getting healthier. I’m absolutely BAFFLED as to why this follow-up app is so dysfunctional. It constantly notifies me to turn on “background app refresh” in settings when the background app refresh is already on and my phone is fully charged. The whole point is to have a little coach in your ear when you’re running, but it doesn’t give audio cues unless you have the phone open in your hand, and the music doesn’t play properly. I’m guessing the dysfunction is related to the background app refresh” bug, but I’m not a programmer so what do I know? I also really liked the variety of coaches (Zombies & Unicorns!) on the C25K app & would like to see that added as well. I just know I want this app to work as great as C25K did. Dear Active, Please, Please, fix it!!!

LOVE THIS APP. Highly recommended if you're new to running no matter what age or fitness level you're at (start with the 5k first of course)

Music Not Working Properly. I completed the couch to 5k app and loved every minute of it. I decided to continue with my training and I am not a fan of the 5k to 10K app. I was hopeful it would work the same but the layout is different, it’s not easy to share your progress on social media, and the music player does let work correctly anymore. My music won’t sync correctly with my phone. My playlists are mislabeled. I have to search around to find my running mix. Please please fix this bug. I can’t run without music and I like to sync it with the app so that I can hear the trainer when she talks to me.

Too finicky to be useful. The app requires you to have your phone with the ringer on, screen permanently unlocked and only works with Apple Music. My phone has been on silent since 2012, and if I run with my screen unlocked, I’m begging for issues (workout paused, skips ahead, skips back, etc). I don’t care about not being able to use other music apps as I use Apple Music but I care very much about having to use it within the app which means I can only listen to my playlists and in the order I put them together, not shuffled. The workouts are good and offer a great variety, but if I have to follow all these rules to get to them (and then they might be skipped around) what’s the point? I’m not bothering with contacting support. I just use Garmin Connect to build workouts lifted directly from the app. At least then I know I won’t have any issues.

Ok but bummed it doesn’t measure up to precursor. I get notifications on my Apple Watch but I really want to hear verbal directions mid-run in my headphones while listening to podcasts and music. Can you make that happen? I’d even pay a couple bucks for that.

I used this app exclusively to train for 2 10Ks. I’ve paid for apps that are far inferior to this one. I love the voice coach that tells me to run at different speeds for different durations. A+ app!

It lost my run...?. I really liked Active’s C25K program, so naturally once I was finished with it I downloaded this app. The first run was noneventful, and exactly what I was expecting. However, my second run was not recorded! I heard the voice cues and even the ending “cool down” through my headphones...but once I opened the app after to check my progress, I discovered my run had not been recorded. So disappointing...

Doesnt work. This app does not work at all. The couch to 5k app works amazingly and this wasn’t next step. This version is still completely outdated, the GPS works but in the log your pace averages don’t actually match up. It keeps telling me my average running pace is something like 3.5 minute or 5.5 minutes which is impossible for me especially considering it’s giving me the correct distance over the run. I also know for a fact that I average a 10 minute mile. I have emailed support several times and they keep giving me the run around like asking me to run in a more open space. I run exactly where I ran every day using couch to 5k with zero problems. They need to just stop avoiding it and update this app. I’m very much a person that’s motivated by forward progress and this app not working has definitely slowed down my progress. I will likely switch to a different app for my 5k to 10K training after I back peddle trying to get my 5k time back up after having so many glitchy disappointing runs with this app, my progress has digressed. Really disappointed and even more annoyed that customer service is putting the problem on me.

What happened 😂. The 5k app was great. I downloaded this one and was so confused I thought it was a different app. It works exactly the same as the other but it looks like it was made in 2015 and they never updated it. I mean it’s still good but it looks like they spent a lot of time on the 5k app then got lazy with this one.

Versatile. I love that I can use this app when I’m pushing a stroller, on a treadmill, on the beach or trail, and sidewalks. Great integration with my playlists and accurate mile measurement. Plus, I can’t imagine anyone training alongside me than Drill Sergeant.

Ok but could be great. There are still lots of bugs in this. Trainer sound doesn’t always work, pace doesn’t match the gps, and much clunkier than the 5k version. The 5k version is so user friendly and slick. Seems like it should be to make this app as good as the more popular 5k version. I would definitely consider looking at other options until functionality is improved.

Awesome for new runners. Started out 40 pounds heavier with the Couch Potato to 5K app & successfully ran my first 3.1 in a long time. Prepping for a 15 K & love how this app ramps up at a steady pace. Sometimes I’ll repeat a week if I’m not ready to move up. Definitely use it in lock mode - it’s too easy to accidentally skip forward or ahead in a workout & mess up your log.

App won’t go to workout. I’ve been using this app for a while now. I opened it today and it won’t go to a workout. I’ve deleted and reinstalled twice now. It freezes or just won’t go anywhere. I’ve lost all my history and can’t seem to get any more.

One huge design flaw, otherwise great. I love this app, but the interface design makes it far too easy to accidentally through the segment you're doing. Pretty frustrating when I'm in minute 12 of a 20 minute steady run to accidentally push back to the warm up and cancel all the progress I've made. This was also a problem in the couch to 5k app. Fix that huge design flaw and I'd give it 5 stars.

Competent. I like this app but it loses data sometimes. At the end of the run, it’s only logged 1 mile of the 3 miles I ran. And like another person said, on longer runs it would be helpful to give more descriptive time markers audibly.

Not bad. There are so many great things about this app but it doesn't break out your pace for running, jogging, tempo and walking. It would also be good if based on your pace to have it tell you your target pace for each kind of run you need to do.

Not as fun as couch to 5k. Please bring back runicorn!!! 😊 I’m not sure why but couch to 5k seemed a little more user friendly and had more characters. It’s still a great program I just feel like it needs some updating.

So good I wish they had a half marathon app!. I always hated running. In high school I ran a 15-minute mile. At the age of 30 I started using Couch to 5k and saw great results. I was able to run my first official 5k in 32 minutes after finishing the program. I bumped up to this 10K program and the results are getting even better. The tempo runs and fast runs are killer at first, but they improve your overall endurance. I’m in week 6 and I’m sure I’ll hit the 10K mark by week 8.

In-run audio cues only work sporadically. I like a lot about this app. I was satisfied by the training content itself. But a HUGE drawback was the failure of the audio cues. They only worked at the beginning of the run, sometimes at the end of the run, but only VERY rarely during the workout. This was very frustrating. From reading other reviews, it doesn’t sound like this is a new problem. Until this gets fixed, I’m using another app.

good app. Began with couch to 5k and I like it better because it showed the calories you burned, and you can’t hear all the prompts on 10K app but other than those two issues, I like it!

Where is the location permission for iPhone?. I wanted to Love this as much as couch to 5 k but it seems to be missing many of the gratuities I love on the original. It is not tracking my time by GPS or my pace and when I looked in the app permissions location doesn't come up like it does for the Couch to 5 K. Also, there is no cute little medal for completing your run to share on Facebook.

Love it needs Apple Watch complication to come back. Love it 2 things need to be done complication and a 1/2 marathon with Avatars-and the coaches-not the lame one you have now for 1/2 marathons.

For the most part good app. I started with the couch to 5k which was perfect for me. Now I just finished the first week of this app. It isn’t bad but I can’t hear the prompts from the coaches sometimes which defeats the purpose. When I choose a playlist it doesn’t play but that doesn’t matter because I can leave the app and open my music. I hope they fix these issues sooner than later.

5/5 for 5 to 10K. I was such a fan of the “couch to 5K” app! It made it easy to get back into running into really do it at a pace that was comfortable for me. I was really happy to learn that they had another app to help me continue my process and ultimately achieve my goal of running 1/ half by my 40th birthday October 2021! Do you self a favor and download both apps! Do you want regret it.

It’s okay. It’s an okay app, but I wish it were updated like Couch to 5K. I’m sure that one is far and away more popular, so that one gets more of the developers’ attention, but it wouldn’t take a whole lot to make this one better. I’d appreciate some definitions here since I’m not super experienced in running other than C25K. Is there a difference between a jog and a steady run? What’s a tempo run? How much effort should I be exerting during a fast run interval? I know I can wing it and it will probably be fine but I’d just like more information available through the app.

Good but basic. I love that the tempo changes and it gives you cues to remind you how fast the pace is, but I wish in the stats at the end, it said how fast you were for each different pace. I’ve seen other apps that do that, but I love the gradual building of stamina and endurance with this app.

Awesome. I feel myself growing. I was apprehensive about the graphics but once I tried the app I’m literally becoming the runner I always dreamed about being

Not as good as the original. Couch to 5k is a 5star app, this is a solid 3. It has bugs, for example I just set a new best pace but it still has an older run set as best pace even though I knocked 40s off the time. Also the audio cues DO NOT WORK while in the run. The app says you need to turn off vibrate only and adjust the volume but that doesn’t fix the issue. And it’s not an issue in the first app so why would it be in this one? Also the resolution is different, almost zoomed in more or something. Overall, 3 stars... I’d pay $10 to have this app exactly like the first.

Good app. I really like this app! I finished the couch to 5k app so wanted to keep going. Found this one, which was by the same company. The couch to 5k app is much better bc the background refresh works in that one and there are more coaches to choose from (I miss the unicorn!) I did find a work around to the background refresh by keeping it open and on and just locking it, so that has helped tremendously!

Hate It. I hate this app. It inaccurately estimates my average mile minutes. It too easily unlocks and then either pauses or moves to the next section. Worse still, if you do accidentally go to the next section abs try to go back, it erased the miles you already clocked. Couch 2 5k was so good. This app is t worth it.

Good App. I like this app, it is very good at getting you to be a better runner. It’s challenging for someone that does not like to run and wants to start. I know this app is for people begging to run longer distance than a 5k, but more information while running would be good at this point. Tell the time you have left in a section is useful & not just “you are 1/2 way”. Also, how fast your running pace is, would be good so when you are supposed to run faster “tempo run” or “fast run” you know if you are pushing yourself.

Good app but has some minor bugs. I really like this app and went through its predecessor, Couch to 5K, but it does have some bugs. The voice coach only speaks at the start and end of the workout rather than at transition points. The Watch app was disabled, so hopefully it’s being fixed.

FIX THE BUGS!!!. When going from network to Wi-fi, the app will crash every time. When trying to open the community tab, it crashes every time. This is so frustrating! I absolutely loved the C25K app, and can’t understand how this one has so many issues!! For the person above me that’s having issues not hearing the coach...push the lock button in the top left corner. It will keep it on top regardless of the error.

Very flawed app. The app is great for getting me to run a fast 10K quickly, but several flaws. Coach’s prompts only come through at the beginning and sometimes the end. I can only play certain music through the app and when I do, I don’t get any prompts. It is VERY inconsistent with my Apple Watch so I can never use it without my phone.

A little disappointed. I loved the couch to 5k. I like this app, but the log does not breakdown your walking time from your running time. I am unable to truly track my pace :(

Love this app but one minor annoyance. Overall, I’m a big fan of this app. I got started with the Couch to 5K app which was perfect. This one is almost as good, though there is one problem. When I am running, sometimes you cannot hear the coach prompting you to alter your pace throughout the work out. I’m not sure why that is but it can be a little bit annoying because you have to check your phone from time to time. I think this happens when the screen is off but the app is still running. Other than that, it is a great app. Hopefully they can fix this.

Make directions audible!. I absolutely loved Couch to 5k. I want to love 5k to 10k. But the only directions that are audible are the announcement that the run has begun and the announcement that the run has ended. All other directions during the run are silent. Please change this in the next update!

Crap compared to the 5k app. I loved the 5k app and was eager to get the next one, but this ain’t it. It’s cool that it’s free I guess but I would much rather pay $2 for the same quality as the 5k app. This one looks like it hasn’t been updated in years, the cues don’t work, it doesn’t work with my Apple Watch. I’m shocked it even came from the same company.

Very good.. Only tried this app & it has worked for me. Did the Couch to 5K then progressed to this 5K to 10K. Took me steadily without injuring myself, so what more can I ask for!

Love the program. Great program, just wish the voice over was louder, have to hold phone in hand to ensure not to miss changes.

something wrong. My 0-5k app worked fine, but this one is not measuring distances and speeds at all accurately. Does something need fixed or is there a trick?

Just what I needed!. This app is very simple and exactly what any runner looking to advance their mileage and improve their speed needs.

Fantastic !. Great app for anyone wanting to improve their running agility!

Where is johnny dead!!???!??. Amazing app! Would have got 5 stars if they kept Johnny Dead from the 5k app. We want Johnny Dead!!! :)

Good training app. Some audio problems. I started from the couch to 5K and I loved that app. I would recommend it to anybody. I’m now pushing myself onto this sequel of an app. It seems that they really do have the occasional difficulty synchronizing Apple iTunes on a shuffle with the rest of my library. I had to stop the audio in the app and then go to iTunes to play my own music on shuffle. The problem was, I could hear the music but it didn’t shuffle and there were no audio cues. This needs to be fixed, however, it is a good training app. I’m really feeling the burn every time I do it but it’s not overwhelming me. I’ve gone from the couch and I’m now finished week 10 overall. Week one of this app. It’s been good and I plan to see it through

Okay workout, poor logging. This app has crashed for me on ~50% of my runs with it so far. I am starting week 3 of the programme and will no longer really on it to capture the runs.

You guys messed up. I don’t get how you went from such a great couch to 5km app to this. Everything worked flawlessly in the 5km app. The app looked great, the vocal cues works with Apple podcasts running and it was a pleasure to use. This app is a disaster. It looks like crap and for some reason I get no vocal cues if I want to run the podcast app in the background. Why fix what wasn’t broken? Shame on your developers.

No audio. Only got this app so I could hear the prompts as I run and can't get it to work!!

Next level. A good next step to couch to 5k though more basic. Still good though!

Not entirely clear.... I want to like this app because I loved the Couch to 5k predecessor... but they haven't been clear on the difference between a jog and a run. Couch to 5k build you up to a point where you're jogging 30 minutes... and now, suddenly, on Day 2 of this new app I'm being directed to "run" for 30 minutes. What does that mean? On Day 1, I was told to run for jog for 10 minutes, run for 3 minutes, and jog for 10 minutes. I made it 2.5 minutes before I had to slow to a jog. So, what kind of jump is that? Am I supposed to jog a little harder? Or am I supposed to run like my house is on fire? What constitutes a difference between a jog and a run that is sustainable for 30 minutes straight? Perhaps I've been running this whole time and thought I was jogging, I just can't imagine going faster so soon when I've just become comfortable with a 30 minute "jog". Perhaps if the app recognized your typical jogging pace and encouraged you to hit a new benchmark by going 6mph instead of your usual 4mph, for example. That would help clarify what I'm supposed to do today, because frankly I'm stumped and don't want to burn out too soon.

Unhappy with the app, looking for a new one. I was very happy with my couch to 5km app made by the same business. I was not happy with this app. The app is supposed to track how many km you walk and how many you run. It does not accurately record either. For example, i will have ran 3 to 5 km at a time with a 5 min warm up and cool down (total 0.5 km for each). The app will indicate that I only ran for 1 or 2 km and the remainder of my run I walked. I let the company know of this issue. Their first response was am I using the app properly? I indicated I was and sent screen shots of my concerns. To date the problem was not resolved.

Fantastic plan!. This is perfect in many ways. It ties into GPS, music and times the cues for you. There is no extra thought that needs to go into your run - I.E. No need to measure routes for distances. I started the couch to 5 k very out of shape and feel really good doing the 5-10k. I don't think I could have done it without this program's gentle progression!

Changed my life!. This apps motivate me, I don't like that they separated Couch-to-5k and 5k-to-10k into 2 apps to make us pay twice though.

Great one training my first 10k run!. Excellent app

Great training app. I am coming off another app that helped me train for my first 5 km. What I liked about that app was that it had built in walk-run timing; this app doesn't. However it does tell you when you've hit the halfway point of your runs or when you're changing tempo. It also has 3 different trainers, but they don't talk as much as other apps. I do like that this app is connected with many runs in your area - I registered for my 10 km run and it downloaded to my app. I'd recommend this app for those who already have a pretty good base and are just looking for a little structure.

Excellent training plan!. I completed the Couch-to-5K app and was looking for a new goal. This app has great workouts that gradually increase distance/time. All audio cues cut through music/podcasts perfectly. Love using this and look forward to running a 10K race.

GPS problem?. I use couch to 5k and it work perfectly. But I do the same run with this app and it doesn’t show the same distance...what’s wrong with the GPS??

Apple Watch??????. Why is there no 5k to 10k app for Apple Watch???

Doesn’t work. It was a plain and clearly very dated app, but it used to have a basic 5k to 10k plan that tracked workouts. The audio never really worked in the background, but now the run tracker won’t even load. I think the latest iOS update broke it—January 2021.

Terrible app!. Barely worth writing a review on... No voice prompts unless you keep your phone on throughout the duration of the workout. So. You're gonna lose a WHOLE lotta battery life. Even then the voice is soooo soft I can barely hear it. In fact, I can't say I can hear her at all. After that, the music comes back BLARING. So in order to use this app: no music can be played and the screen stays on the entire time. (YES, I followed the instructions to a T on how to make the voice prompts work) Doesn't keep track of my workouts. Says I've only completed the first day. So each time I log into app I have to figure out which week/day I'm on. Seriously. The app doesn't keep track. Basically- I open the app to see what I have to do, and then try to do it on my own because the app plays no role at all. And on days with tempo runs/intervals...that just doesn't work. I'm getting a different app. One that works. I successfully completed the C25K app called 'get running' and LOVED it. But they don't have a 10k version This one will be deleted after I complete my review. Don't wast your time.

Almost perfect!. This app is great and overcomes the faults of competitor apps I've tried and abandoned (e.g., is flexible in start date and re-doing runs, unlike Nike+; does not rely on run-walk method, unlike C210K). The music controls work well and I like that you can skip the warm-up/cool down portion as well. The runs are motivating, attainable, and yet are improving my pace and endurance - I also like that you can change the coach voices! My only complaint is that the halfway-mark feature does not seem to be working, even though it is clearly turned on. I have to rely on watching the time or using Nike+ in the background (which I always do anyway for logging purposes). Fix this, and it's perfect! Well done, Active!

Great. Awesome app

Love it. Great app for an intermediate runner getting back into running.

Just as good as C25k. I started a few years ago with the C25k app & after running through ups & downs on my own, I decided to return to my original "long" distance of above 6 miles. So I downloaded this app & haven't looked back! I haven't been entirely structured with 3/days a week but still it's working I'm getting stronger/faster with each run! Thanks for the great app & even better motivation to tackle my goals.

Awesome app!. This was an awesome app that got me ready for the Atlanta Peachtree Road race. Thanks 5K 10K and active!

Prettier but not as good as C25k. At first the 5k to 10k app looks nicer, in practice it's inferior to C25k. There are no voice prompts mid run, so I have to look at my watch. There is no "Week Day " screens to share, just a nondescript "Finished" screen. That said the workouts are great.

Motivating and effective. This app will keep you running and get you running faster. All you have to do is follow the directions to the best of your ability. It will challenge you but never more than you can handle. If you can run 5k when you start you will be able to run10k at the same pace 9 weeks later and you will (mostly) enjoy doing it and def be glad you did!

Good app but needs an update. I used the Couch-to-5K app, which was great, and was excited for this new 5k-to-10K app. Overall it is good, but there are issues. The biggest one is that the screen instructions don't always match the audio instructions. For example, the display says "Steady Run" but the audio says "Tempo Run," and these are described differently under "pace descriptions" in settings. So I don't know exactly how fast I should be running sometimes and wonder if I'm getting the full benefit of this program. I submitted feedback and was told that this is a "known issue" so I wish it wasn't taking them so long to address it. Looks like I'm going to be done with the program before they get around to fixing this. Too bad. It's still a pretty good app, though, and has helped me to run for longer amounts of time, so I'm still happy that I bought it.

App crashes. App constantly crashes during run losing all your current run info. Completely unreliable and zero response from support on it.

Perfect!. After doing the Couch-to-5K program, I really wanted an app to keep me working towards my next goal on a regular schedule. This was perfect. Workouts were varied, so I didn't get bored, plus it tracked my speed and distance. It kept a log of my runs so I could go back and see when I ran and how far. I would recommend this to anyone training for a 10K!

Takes the guess work out of a work out. I love that I just show up and do the days workout. I started with couch to 5K, 4 months later 5 to 10 K !

TERRIBLE. App quit half way into my run. Are you joking? Why is the quality so poor? I was expecting more. Shame on you.

Love this app!. I did the couch to 5K app from the same company, and then got started on this one. So far so good. I think it is great how there are different things like speed training interspersed between various links of runs at various aids. And in person trainer is always the best, but I would say this is definitely second-best. I really liked the couch to 5K app also. I am no speed demon, but I can at least now finish a 5K without collapsing at the end :-)

Please put Runicorn in this app. I really enjoyed Runicorn in the 5k app and would love to have him as a trainer choice for the 10K app.

Disappointed. Doesn’t work with my watch. It’s one star until that’s resolved.

No location. Doesn’t track splits or miles or time. Basically a stop watch

Great, needs some add ones. I just finished using the couch to 5k .!: loved it! But I miss my zombie coach!!! Please add the zombie coach!!!!

Update needed!!!!. When is this app getting updated like the couch to 5k? Please make it better!

As advertised. Simple.

Couch to 10K. This version is terrible which is disappointing because i loved the coach to 5k. It doesn’t record your distance like the other one did

Worst program ever. Despite having a good running routine, the program keeps going back to the begining multiple times during every workout. Totally frustrating. No way to contact developer. I have had it with it.

App is very buggy. App skipped to another workout at end of cool down and deleted my progress and cannot hear trainer during workout .

A little disappointing. The program is great - it's definitely helped me get faster and better. But, as other reviewers note, the pace is all messed up and sometimes the voice instructions don't match what's on the screen. It's confusing in the middle of a run to figure out what you should be doing. And I really wish the pace/distance functions worked properly so I could assess my progress. Couch to 5k was great - hope this eventually improves to meet it.

Please bring back Apple Watch function. Great app. Please urgently bring back the Apple Watch function. It’s essential to make the app successful

Awesome app!. I love this app! A few years ago I decided to take up running (I avoided running at all cost before, and would have been the first one caught in a zombie apocalypse). I decided to try couch to 5k and started loving running- well not actually the running part, but my body was craving it! I kept going with it and finished the couch to 5k, and ran my first 10K race! Now I'm on this 5k to 10K and I love the challenges of the next runs! I love this app because I need someone or something to tell me when to keep going and when I get to stop. I recommend both apps for beginners or people that are look for a running coach :)

Good running program outdated app. Like many here I came through the brilliant Couch to 5K. The 5K to 10K app however, needs updating to have feature parity. The app resolution and display area is not optimized for modern iPhones.

Great app!. My only complaint is that I don’t always hear the cues. Wish my music could cut out when they came on. Other then that great app to help me reach my goals.

Disappointed. The Couch to 5k app by Active is great. I finished it and was very happy with the experience. So imagine my surprise when I opened up this clumsy app that looks several years old. How could you not keep the visual styles and use interface consistent? Yuck!

Loved it but can improve reminders. The reminders don’t pop up properly during the workout

Doesn’t appear on my watch. What happened to Apple Watch support? I used to have it on my watch until a few weeks ago and then it disappeared.

Easy to navigate. Even when jogging with the stroller!

not as good as the first. This app is a huge step down from the 5K app. The interface looks awful and there’s a considerable amount of input lag when you click on something.

Great!. Just as awesome as the couch to 5k app, but it could use an update to look like it…couch to 5k has a better appearance and feel to it

Broken. Was using it for a while hit now crashes every time I try to start a run and will never progress to the actual workout. Pretty dissatisfied, don’t download

Amazing running app!. I started running earlier this year with a 5k app, and after a few months at that distance, I decided I was ready for 10k. This app has helped so much. Unlike other apps, its workouts are designed to very gradually increase your distance and pace by using two short runs and one long run each week. It even includes recovery weeks! More so than other apps I've used, this is like having your own personal running coach. I love it!

Good, but missing a few features couch to 5k has. I am definitely a fan of this app, but would like to see a couple of the features C25K has such as the option to give a buddy comments and or a high five and my app isn't keeping track of specific dates. I am about halfway through this program and haven't struggled, but definitely feel progress. It it a fantastic plan and I am very grateful I downloaded it.

A lot of issues. Even using all of the fixes I can barely hear the audio cues. The gps does not work consistently and accurately. Today during the cool down the app stopped and my workout was erased. Pretty frustrating.

Excellent!. Excellent but think what would make even better is some coaching and facts sprinkled in like the Jeff Galloway 5K app. Overall very good app

HIGHLY recommended... emphasis on HIGHLY. Active Network has been training me from a couch potato to a regular 5/6K runner (at the time of this writing). I just finished my first week of the 5-10k app and I'm really impressed at the progressive way that it has been able make running a part of my life via positive habit. I literally feel better than ever, especially because I was able to overcome a mind state where I believed that running was simply not for me. I've recommended this series to a number of people via word-of-mouth, and although I never write reviews, I honestly feel like I'd be doing the world a disservice by not highly recommending that you work with their programs. Just stick with it, it's easier than you think!

Should have stuck with the Couch to 5k UI. Ok app but the developer should have uses the same interface as they do in their Couch to 5K app. It’s much more user friendly and fun. Functional so 3 stars, but the GPS does not work well.

My next challenge. Three years ago I used Couch to 5K to lose 50 pounds. It took me two tries to make it through the program, but I did it. This year I had some disruptions in my life and got off track. Did the program again and moved onto this one. Sometimes I have to repeat workouts until I can finish them. I am glad it gives me the flexibility to do so without erasing prior attempts.

Needs more features. There’s not enough features. I end up running two tracking apps

Won’t play if the screen is locked. There’s literally zero point to a running app that won’t give you cues while the screen is locked. No do not disturb isn’t on and no my phone isn’t on silent and yes notifications are enabled. Don’t waste your time.

Great App to get a Running Routine. I've found this and the couch to 5k app really helpful. I started with couch to 5k 10 weeks ago. I finished all 9 weeks and just finished my first week of 5k to 10k. When I started I could hardly jog for a minute straight. I can now jog/run for at least 30 minutes straight (I haven't tried going longer yet). I'm not someone that had a workout routine at all when I first started so don't feel intimidated by this. It's really helpful and rewarding to see your progress. Good luck!

Great beginner app. I began with the c to 5k & then moved up to the 5k to 10k. They're both great apps to get you started & motivated. Pros: keeping the log, audio prompts, I like the large countdown to time left. Cons: it doesn't keep accurate running time. Now that I have a many 5k and a couple of 10k races under my belt I know how fast I normally run these distances. The last few times I ran the 40 min. run (5+5 warm Up & cool down plus 30 min. run) I noticed that my running time was way slower than what I consistently run this distance. So the next time I ran I took another phone with me with a different app & and used both apps for my run. The time difference was off by 2.4 mins. Also I don't like how the the next distance time is so small. Hard to see while running and in the sunlight. Work on these 2 things and it would be a great app for whatever level runner.

Good, but.... Haven't been able to save my distance for the last three weeks - the app complains about not being able to contact its servers. It really ought to be able to store that locally so it doesn't depend on the server. Also have issues with the voice prompts sometimes failing, even when the phone is unlocked. Wish these things would get fixed, but otherwise pretty good.

No Apple Watch Connect. Anyone else having trouble installing it to your Apple Watch?
