Courier Journal App Tips, Tricks and Rules

Courier Journal Reviews

Too glitchy  Licensegirl  1 star

It's not intuitive and functions that we are supposed to have access to like comics and crossword are impossible to find. You have to use the search bar, and then when it goes to the page, it glitches and freezes and never loads.

Speck of Red in a sea of blue

Appreciate the Courier-Journal app  Speck of Red in a sea of blue  5 star

Living in the Lexington market area and being a true University of Louisville fan, the Courier-Journal app is my major source of information for my teams. Thank you.

Very handy and easy to use  Lkf53  4 star

I pull it up whenever I have a few minutes of dead time and read an article or two while I'm waiting for whatever it is (doctor, picking up kids, etc).

I love having the feel of newsprint but when I can't or when it is the middle of the day, this app is great.

Print news!  Charles Earl 1  5 star

I enjoy getting up in the morning walking to the mailbox getting my paper sitting down with a cup of coffee reading the daily news been doing it for 50 years. I do use the Phone app when I'm away from home but nothing beats the feel of newsprint in your hand. Charles

Timely  Uunet  4 star

This app is very good and the news notifications are very timely and appropriate. Could be a little better organized, but overall an excellent app!

The liberal CJ does not like opposing views, that must be why they do not allow SEARCH or COMMENTS on the app.

Awful  BeSt ApPpPpPpPpPpPpPpPp  1 star

Hate this app now. Digital subscription required for everything. USA today for sports is so ad heavy it won't hardly open. Terrible

Old News  Rajonesjr  1 star

Old news dominates the headlines. Residents are better off checking the news on the tv station apps.

Go back to the original format  Automem  1 star

First, the new format is not visually appealing. We get a set of squares of what the CJ considers of greatest interest rather than columns we can scan for what we find interesting. It seems we will have to use the menu icon repeatedly, i.e., even more than we had to before, to get a decent overview of the news. Second, why am I repeatedly asked to update my app? Isn't one time enough?

Can't log in  Tessa40223  1 star

Since the update, I am unable to log in to the app. Spent several minutes on the phone with Diane in "customer service" who initially told me that it must be a problem with my device (iPad).. Finally acknowledged that there is a problem with the app. I was insulted by her attitude. Her advice was basically to forget the app and log in through the browser......why have the app???

Educated Reader  Ijoelf49  1 star

Shame that a former prize winning publication keeps looking more and more like People magazine ... just photos and no news!

Digital access is a joke!  tulips0525  1 star

There could not be a more frustrating app! After numerous tries, paying for a digital subscription, resetting my password, and sending emails to the company, I still have no access and being charged monthly for a newspaper I cannot access!!!

Terrible Update  Chip Thomas  1 star

The CJ made me update my version and it's awful. It's so much more difficult to find the content I want. The version provides the "top 5" articles, which is okay but it's also too streamlined. It's like the app takes the choice out of what to read in a newspaper! Also the settings won't allow you to change the display, like the earlier version. Argh, this update version is really frustrating...but it looks "pretty"...but it's useless!!!

UI still needs work  Heskey27  1 star

Please remove the pictures and just show the headlines in a condensed format please. It would be great to have more content available without scrolling and clicking often. However the CJ's reporters are doing a great job, thank you!

The Wigwam

Thanks  The Wigwam  5 star

I appreciate the content and the platform you all provide to make it available to the public.
