Fills a perfect niche. This app fills in a lot of gaps left by other music apps. The ability to stretch a sample to a specific tempo is huge for me but then I can tweak and use effects on top of that. There are some reviews about the app crashing when playing with presets. I have not been able to duplicate this. I would really encourage the user to email the developer directly, I'm sure they would love to get a repro on the crash.

Really great, really unstable. Great sound out of this app, very tight and responsive controls...when it works. Very unstable on ipad2. Can't load any presets except the one that is preloaded on app launch. Would love to see the developer address these issues. If not, you'll at least get a very fun 5 minutes before you realize you can't access most features without the app crashing. Still worth the money though. I'd imagine other users have written the dev, so hopefully something is in the works. Gorgeous, ultimately. Buy it if you love glitchy beats and textures.

Crash!. The app crashes. iPad 2 with nothing else running. The 10 seconds it runs before the crash sound somewhat cool. It seems like as soon as I put three fingers on the screen to glitch up a sound it instantly crashes. waste of money until this is fixed. Stay away from this app.

Great. I love this app. Very intuitive, fun as hell to use, and it has sparked some nice creativity.

This is a blast!!. Works great on my 4S and iPad 3. I have been really digging the included patterns. I tried pasting from stochastik just for grins and giggles and couldn't, but that could be a user issue on my end. Great app. Definitely inspiring. Dev seems cool on twitter.

Absolutely awesome.. I love this app SO MUCH. Yeah, Midi might be nice, but after Audiobus I feel greedy asking for anything more. Thank you so much, Alex.

This is a great app!. Don't believe the 1 star review. I have been running this app hard since my I purchased it, (both in audiobus and standalone mode) and have not had the first problem with it. Fantastic out of the box, and excellent for creating sound patterns with your own samples and found sounds. The effects are solid, and the possibilities are endless. A must have for those inclined to be creative with rhythm.

How do you record yourself. I’m trying to find out how to record your own sound I’ll give it better rating if it works

Fun. This app is a lot of fun. Works great on my iPad 3. To the person who says it doesn't work on their iPad 3, it'd be nice if you contact their support instead of leaving a bad review.

GlitchBreaks. Excellent App for glitching breaks and you can definitely import your own files!

Sickest app for beats!. I import everything into GB, Breakbeats, basslines, vocals, everything! With the addition of midi and Audiobus, this app should be in every iOS producers arsenal. I never had an issue with the app and the few questions that I emailed in we're answered promptly. Great app overall and a lot of fun to use.

App - breaks. It does not do a lot, basically some you can change the temp and some basic glitches, which can pretty fast go out of control. Still it is a lot of fun, though IT CRASHES A LOT. Once it crashes you have to delete the app and install it again to get it to work again, so that is pretty frustrating. Oh, I am using the iPAD3

New Midi Clock Sync Rocks!!!. Took a few iterations before Glitchbreaks was on my must-use list of tools. Seems to run like a champ now and the new Midi Clock Snap works great synced to Ableton! Looking forward to the future of this app... updated frequently :)

Awesome tool. Awesome tool for glitching samples but needs an update to fix the crashing that sometimes occurs at startup after you have imported samples.

Awesome app. I guess considering that I like to create trip hop (60-90bpm) I have come to this app for my rhythmic needs and FX. I haven't used all of the library of sounds, but what I can get this thing to produce through GarageBand makes for amazing dynamic contrast and awesome ambience. I highly recommend this app for random glitch making and ambient drum tracks.

Glitch Bliss. I have tried so many different glitching plug-ins and apps, but none like this. The amount of control you have is great. It definitely works on iPad 3 and I have been recording and importing my own sounds. Highly Recommended!

glitch love. this is a great app for creative quick glitching. it can be used so many ways, you only have to be creative. i use it to paste the audio clips in logic, and it's a beast.

Randomly Plays Sound. Only supports 16 bit waves so you are stuck in 1980s sound quality. While there are lots of options in this app there is no real control of anything. It basically randomly plays four different waves that you can select from the library. A one-trick pony that is worth $2.99.

Loops seem preset. If there's a way to record or import my own sounds, I haven't found it in the first hour and a half of goofing off with it. I was hoping this could replace some Reaktor usage in my work, but so far it seems a bit locked. There should be a way to record incoming audio to use on a pad. All that said, this is pretty fun and works well. The "glitch" mode is unpredictable, but not in the good way. More like it does its thing every time, but its never really what you'd hope for. I have piano hands, but still have trouble getting the audio to track my finger accurately. I am hopeful for updates, because it is VERY WELL PUT TOGETHER. The interface is pro looking, and there are possibilities! At the very least its a great DJ tool for juggling live loops and the cut modes get grooves going pretty quick. If I get to record live audio, I'd like to use it as an auto-looper with some cut fx. Great idea, just not quite finished IMO! 5stars when it is!

Pretty fun audio mangler. I'm digging this already just with the presets, but can't wait to throw my own sounds in here. This does a cut up method that seems difficult to find - whenever you hit one pad or another it can immediately cut over to that other sample at the same point In playback as the original pad, if that makes any sense... Anyway that's extremely useful for people into glitchy music. I can wait to see what this may be able to do when I control it from my digitakt

Not necessarily my thing, but easy to appreciate what's here. I picked up GlitchBreaks because it went on sale and other users had recommended it. I'm actually not heavy into glitch/dubstep types of music, though I'll play around with anything for fun if it's affordable and well designed. GlitchBreaks is defintely those two things. There's a great selection of on-board loops and the export options (AB and both AudioCopy and direct export to AudioShare) are top notch. For those unfamiliar with this genre, you can introduce all types of glitching and stuttering effects while the app keeps track of where your beat should have been if you left it clean. You can mess around with the rhythm and create variation in the beat without losing tempo. Pretty cool app that translates well to small-screen iPhone, as well.

Beat Glitching made easy(ish). It's extremely fluid and absolutely amazing for anyone who enjoys cutting some insane breaks. I'm in love with the quantization divisions seemingly going endlessly into infinity. A few small problems. Glitchbreaks crashes a lot. About 95 percent of the time when importing via audio copy paste it crashes. Also when switching rapidly between editing the loop modulation and the glitch pads, the playback stops until I select a new cut. Not a major issue, I just have to be aware not to do that. I am hoping for some effects with the same fluidity I'm finding in the glitch pad. Maybe decimate/lo-fi, distortion/overdrive, HP/LP... Basic effects with a smooth and generally awesome interface like what we have so far in glitchbreaks. Between Beatshuffler, loopTwister, glitchBreaks, chippad (and a few other obscure apps), glitchBreaks has the best implementation of this general concept (beatslicing/beatdestroying/ect). Glitchbreaks has the best import and export of audio clips, as long as the clips are the specified length otherwise longer clips will create major stuttering issues. Between looptwister and glitchbreaks I'm having loads of fun destroying beats. I highly recommend it.

Constant crashing. This app would be really interesting if it didn't crash every single time I try to change the preset. I've tried it on several different devices, and it always crashes. All my devices are iOS 6. Hopefully an update will fix this problem soon.

Its great !!. Very responsive and good interface. Small bugs that will be fixed asap no doubt. Love to see where ti goes ! Hoping for some features like background audio, more tweakable cut points , more visually appealing and control surface for the waveform, bpm per sample etc. Lot of unique things to be done and Alex has the right start !, Having fun in the meanwhile !!

Great stuff. Neat app. Surprisingly powerful. Effects, cuts, glitches, all work well. Love the audiobus and copy/paste support. You can make some great stutter beats and build-ups/dropouts when you learn what's going on with the x/y pads. I'm still a novice with it, but the potential is huge. If you're strictly into beats, and you already have your iwn samples, this app is all you need to get going on the mobile beat production highway. Have fun!

Rad stuff!. I make a lot Of iOS music and this really adds some flavor to my palette. It's a great addition to nanostudio and nanoloop. Lots of fun!

Meh. Doesn't do much. What it does, doesn't do great. It appears to be a blown up iPhone app. $1.. Maybe. I'm not going to say its not worth $5, but on the scale with other apps, not the same value you would get elsewhere.

Issues. Hey, first off I want to say I really like this app, there’s currently nothing else i can find that’s fun and easy to use that allows for such expressive and fun looping and glitching. I’m having an impossible time trying to import my own audio though, anything I copy in through the pasteboard just ends up coming out as white noise. I even wound up additionally buying AudioShare hoping that would work, but still no avail. It’s great and fun with the presets, but I just can’t find any way to make my own audio work. Would be great if that could be fixed or updated, thanks

Super Cool. This is a really unique app. I've used about 1001 different plugins on my DAW at one time or another and nothing does quite what Glitchbreaks does- and so easily. The latest update, 1.5, is a major step forward- background audio, stays in sync glitching or not glitching, various other great improvements. If you're a fan of Squarepusher/Aphex Twin or Warp Records in general then this is for you, if not, it's still for you.

Best Beat Manipulator!. If you've been waiting to buy this get it now! The new update made it rock solid. The new retrigger and quantize options are awesome. Easily one the best music apps I own, can't wait to see what's next! Off to glitch heaven :)

This is NOT a toy.... ...it's an instrument. Something you will be happy to have with you on stage or in the studio, but also something you have to "play" and practice at to master. This app is obviously aimed at the jungle / breakbeat / IDM crowd (is that what the kids call it these days?) but I have been using it in more subtle ways with downtempo and triphop tracks with much success. The new playable / tweakable FX features in 1.1 are the icing on the cake, making this a feature complete instrument and one of the most powerful, interesting, and musical apps in the app store.

Great for amatures. If you wish to use this app as an quality application, good luck. I tried audiopaste (there's no itunes easy import feature) and it just crashes and doesn't even allow me to properly set the bpm. I spent several hours working up some custom loops for use in a live show, but this wouldn't properly load it and kept crashing. Waste of time and money.

Innovative. So easy to use, yet it allows you to create very complex live rythmic streams. Way fun and intuitive. And getting better...

How come we can use our own files. The glitch fx is good but I don't like the samples in it I thought it could be a very useful tool but it's very limited add this to it please

Great app - Kaoss-style fun!. EDIT: THIS REVIEW IS AS OF 6/7/12. For some reason iTunes posted my old review, but since then my issues have been addressed - VERY much to my satisfaction - by the developer. I have since requested Apple take down my previous review. I love using the grain shifter on my Kaoss pad, and this is similar. Use the stock breaks or load your own (up to 4 bars - any more than that will produce undesirable results), then destroy and tweak them until they become new creations. Supports Audiocopy and paste which is excellent. Developer is SUPER quick to respond and very attentive and concerned about getting any kinks worked out, whether by user error or otherwise.

Great music prod app! One of my favorites. But so flawed & unfixed. There's nothing "dangerously high" about the memory. Please fix the issue. I just loaded four sounds taking ten minutes. As soon as I'm done, there's the most frequent message from Glitchbreaks above. Yes, maybe three years ago on an iPad 1 maybe. On a iPad mini retina that frequently runs 12 to 15 apps and I'm only running 1 right now? Please fix the issue. Upsetting. It's a good app to do remixing on but if it gets under your skin then it's really frustrating. Unique performance app. Great features and functions. Automation is cool too. Only downside is that it kicks out the four current samples and reverts to original sounds when it thinks the iPad is running low on memory. I'm using retina with no other apps running so it's a bit frustrating sometimes. There's no other app that comes even close to Glitchbreaks for unique glitch performance. Big props but no props on the old message to. Please fix it.

GLITCH-A-RRIFIC‼️🤓. I absolutely LOVE this app, and have been using it for years, but I would like to suggest that a new user would take the time to READ THE MANUAL before leaving a negative review out of frustration. You can really create some AWESOME ear candy with this app, AND when you combine it with other AWESOME apps, the creative possibilities are just endless!!!! GO TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Support. Support for audiobus and we need to be able to upload up too 3:00 mins from iTunes library.

iPad 2. Handles this beautifully in Auria. Great for making beats for electronic music. Great product!

Incredibly fun and addicting. This app is a dream for fans of breakcore/hardcore/trance etc. it's so much fun and really comes in handy in the studio!

i want to like it. but with some of the bugs it has, i can't. if you try to change or turn cuts on/off the timing gets muddled pretty quickly, or sometimes it'll leave the cut going when the pad indicates that the cut should be off. i could live with that, but then the cuts themselves aren't starting at the right time. for some reason the cut sequence i made starts at the 5th step on the cut sequencer when i start the drum break, instead of starting with the break. other little bugs, like how the 2nd pad overwrites the 4th pad when you load a preset, erode at my patience for it. i really, really want to use and enjoy this app, but these bugs make it frustrating to use and sap the enjoyment out of it for me. i hope the dev can fix these problems as he's been pretty good at community support, but i'm not going to hold my breath.

Terrific App when iOS is compatible. This digital widget can really surprise you with fresh decimated sounds and it simply could not be easier to use. Just start hitting the buttons and dragging the slider and sound data window and BOOM you have a whole new bag. Some reviews have said you can’t use custom sounds with weird non-bar lengths…but I have NOT had that problem! The problem I DO HAVE is that the app no longer works…it just opens and then closes. I see it in apps-running but the screen doesn’t stick to the active window. I tried reinstalling but no dice. It’s been like this for a while…I would hold off buying until this is resolved.

The new FX are phenomenal. The glitch modulation seems much smoother and more nuanced, but the effects in the new update are simply fantasic. The number of control parameters is a dream, and the quality of the effects themselves is thoroughly impressive. This is a wonderful addition to a very fun app.

Buy it. A very fun app that has been consistently updated. As the audio copy has become more common as a functionality in other apps, glitchbreaks is even more useful. It's awesome to load your beats from figure into the sample pads.

The latest update.. Thanks for the update. It really touched base on any issues or concerns people were having. In reference to the 1 star review, did you contact the developer, because when I had an issue, the support was awesome. So, I figured I'd give it a try, you know, 3 whole fingers, and no issues. Again, solid app. And if you do have issues, just contact support, easy enough.

Great glitches, no transport control. Really love this app and how quickly you can get a great break going. However, since it doesn’t receive transport controls, like start/stop, it’s really tough to fit it into my workflow. Would be great if it would start at the same time as Audiobus or whatever is hosting it, like AUM/BM3/Cubasis/etc.

Disappointing. Well, you just cant do much in this app. I was hoping for something more alike a step sequencer, and cool drum samples to choose from, but this is just some fixed presets and a kaoss style filter and slice manipulation. It is just too locked down, for the price i was hoping an app that I can actually use to make music. This is not the case. Be warned, this is a curious toy, not a music making app.

Great app!. I've heard rumors of MIDI implementation. When it happens, this will be a 5 star app. Very useful, but quite fun to just play around with, too!

Juggle, cut & glitch your beats!. This is a powerful manipulation machine that is perfectly set up for real time control of beats and other samples. The ability to cut the loop back to the first beat to create different accents and still keep time is quite an experience. You can even use the cut editor to change the cuts in real time to fine tune the rhythm. But you can also juggle different beats or loops to create new and interesting grooves. There is also the power of glitching control and loop modulation to create amazing effects to the sound. App is better than god.... This app holds the key to happiness. It is rip roaring good fun. Glitchbreaks has so many quirky features it is impossible to get bored with it. I am born again. This app has changed my life.

Really well done. Before I get into my complaints about audio copy and paste I have to say this is a great app. There seems to be quite a few issues with audio paste though. It does not recognize beatmaker 2. Well it does but I'm unable to retrieve the copied sample. All sample are imported in at a different bpm. Nano studio pastes are cut in half. I'm not sure if anyone else is having these issues. The app is fantastic and I would love to begin importing my own beats.

I'll delete iOS before I delete this app. As a hobbyist drummer, this app is great fun and really satisfying. Doesn't take long to figure out the basics. I know I haven't explored all features, yet, but I'll probably delve deeper in time. You don't need to be a drummer or play any instrument to have fun with this app. It's a great tool to explore various aspects of rhythm, tempo and syncopation. Although, it is also a serious beat manipulation tool.

Amazing. This app just keeps getting better and better!

Awesome. A great music making app. Good on the iPhone, astounding on the iPad. The audio copy/paste makes this much more than a toy. Used it in conjunction with Thumbjam and Multitrack DAW for some serious song making. Lacking a way to preview samples before assigning. But otherwise intuitive and a blast to use.

Fix the audio share please. I love this app, just wish I could import my own beats
