Depop | Buy & Sell Clothing Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Hope you never need help!. There is a reason there is not a phone number or live chat for their support. It’s because they will literally ignore you, and if they bother to respond they don’t even read what you say and will give you a generated response based off like 3 words. They will steal your money and not give you any solutions when they do respond. Please do not waste your time here, it’s only going to cause a headache. If you incorrectly put in your bank details they look the ability to edit that for two full weeks so if you get incoming transaction deposits they will not fix the bank details and tell me to click edit when literally it WILL NOT LET YOU LOL i’m literally so over it. This is the absolute worst customer service i’ve ever experienced in my entire life it’s mind blowing how much ignorance there is. I have sent almost 10 requests and got 3 replies. They don’t help you fix anything and then when you respond they won’t. Truly unhelpful. GOOD GOD DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I HAVE. I have sent the correct banking information along with my ID several times too and not once do they reply to that. Supposedly their team is “working on it” but I don’t know why editing bank details takes an undetermined amount of time, so far it’s been 9 days! No resolutions. Pathetic.

awesome, but. I love this app! It’s so much more aesthetically pleasing and simplistic compared to other apps, and it’s super easy to get a hang of! The app itself is great in function, but it can be really difficult to find good stuff since a lot of people find a $3 toddler shirt thrifting and then sell it for $47 as a “rare baby tee”. It’s also REALLY common for people to put the brand as Brandy Melville just for exposure when it’s actually something from H&M. The app tried to discourage from doing this, but everyone does it anyway. However, you can still find a gem at a great price every once in a while. I have a suggestion that would make the app easier to use- while there are filters on the app to easily find what you’re looking for, I think it would make it even easier if there was a “sort by” option- ex. newest to oldest, lowest to highest price. This would be especially helpful for the “saved” section. I also think it would be great if you could automatically see which items you liked are already sold, similar to how you can see the word “sold” on top of items that you’ve saved. There are a few things that aren’t perfect, but overall, this app that’s structured almost like social media makes buying and selling secondhand clothing really easy and fun!

Room for improvement. I've been using depop for over 2 years now and have just a few suggestions to make it better (in my opinion) 1. The option to cancel/refund a buyer immediately through the app. It's virtually impossible to refund someone without losing money as a seller, since payments are sent directly to PayPal where a fee is taken out (my next suggestion for improvement) sellers will always be out a few bucks for refunding someone due to PayPal feels. Like depops competitors Mercari and Poshmark they have easy ways to cancel orders and refund buyers. 2. There should be a way to receive payments through PayPal to avoid fees. I don't want to raise my prices to accommodate the fees because I always raise my price 10% to accommodate depop fees. 3. Very often shipping on my items switches from USPS (which I chose) to arranging my own shipping (which I do NOT want). I have had this issue several times and I am then at a loss bc shipping within the app is much cheaper and efficient. When it glitches and people buy my items with this shipping chosen I then have to pay more for shipping and visit my local post office which is difficult due to their specific hours and the fact that I'm a full time student and work a full time job.

Hopefully you don’t have an experience like mine. I made a purchase on the app. The seller never sent the item. I tried to reach out to them and they said they would and then didn’t. I tried to open up a case with depop where they just pushed it aside for a month. I tried to reach out again to the seller where they became rude condescending and attempted to belittle me. I then reached out again to depop where they proceeded to push the case aside for another week though I asked specifically for a cancellation of my order and a refund. I have purchased other item on the app without issue but the lack of professionalism I’ve experienced in this order has completely caused me to lose confidence in depop. If a case is opened there is no assistance for 3 weeks. If you can back channel a way to receive assistance they won’t help. Lastly, the two different support people were using stock email responses and probably didn’t look at the situation because they didn’t acknowledge or respond to the treatment I received at the hands of a seller until I brought it up. For these reasons I have left the app and will stay with eBay and recommend you do also. If your sale goes smooth it’s a good app. But when, not if, a sales arises don’t expect to see your money for 2-3 months if ever.

banned my account. I’m am very saddened to see that depop made the final decision to not give me access to my account. I’ve made so much progress on this account that i’ve had for three years now. I’ve sold over 200 items and had 70 items still listed. Now i have to restart all over again and so much so that i don’t even know if i want to continue using this company. They said that i had other brands listed in my tags that were not the brands of the item listed but i’ve seen many ppl do that because they were of similar style. The tags i had on my page that were considered against policy have been on there for years now, so i don’t get why it’s all the sudden an issue. I offered to take them all off if my account is redeemed. But they still won’t give my account back. This has happened before by mistake and was allowed access to my account again. It’s just so frustrating that i’ve built myself a small business out of this app for years, to it all the sudden getting ripped away from me. They claimed to have given me warnings which i did not receive. You guys need to do better i’ve seen this issue come up with many other large accounts. I just don’t get why i’m not allowed my account back when i’m willing to make the changes needed to fit the new guidelines. You guys are loosing so many sellers/buyers due to this.

Zero customer support. I’ve bought a lot on Depop and only just recently had issues with sellers, and Depop customer support is non-existent. One seller sent me the wrong item and then wouldn’t refund me. I contacted Depop and received a reply asking for photos, and then no reply at all. I had to dispute the purchase with my credit card, and then much later Depop actually emailed me to tell them I should have told them the dispute was settled. Another seller hasn’t sent me my purchase at all, and it’s been well over 10 days since I notified Depop and I haven’t gotten a response from them at all. I can’t resubmit anything because the app automatically says I’ve already done that, and there’s no point in emailing Depop because they don’t reply. I’ve purchased a lot and never had issues, but I guess it’s not worth buying from unless you’re willing to risk dealing with the possibility of no resolution. Editing to add that it’s now almost been a full month and I still haven’t gotten any help from Depop customer service. I did get an email that said my account can be suspended for submitting too many chargebacks and that I should have contacted Depop directly first. I did contact Depop. The only replies I’m getting are Depop yelling at me for filing a dispute. I still haven’t gotten a refund. Absolutely the worst customer service.

PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR SELLERS. I think the app is good but there’s obviously some bugs. This isn’t really isn’t about my experience because I was lucky enough to have a good experience with depop so far. I convinced my bf and sister to get depop to let go some of their items & make cash. However both of them experienced not receiving shipping labels EVEN WHEN THEIR PAYPALS ARE VERIFIED. And I’m sorry depop but your support team needs a lot of work. For my bf it took two weeks to get the shipping label for ONE out of TWO items people bought from him. My sister is STILL WAITING for them to get back to her. My bf deleted his old depop account to try and see if it’ll work on his new account and the SAME THING HAPPENED. Plus the support team sent the same advice to verify your account to my bf when he had already made it clear that it was already verified and he couldn’t get the label. He ended up paying out of pocket for shipping for one of the items because he wasn’t able to access the shipping label. Now that the same incident is happening again to my bf it is stressing him out because he might have to go through this process all over again. He’s going to check one more time to see if his account is verified for sure. He told me that if this doesn’t get resolved he’s going to quit depop and sell elsewhere.

Suspended. Very annoying. I took the time to upload items for sale on DePop and they flagged 3 or 4 saying they are counterfeit (which is completely false) then when I appeal their decision they suspend my entire account. I’ve had this account for at least a year and sell authentic items! They do not respond to you as well nor have not reactived my account. You’d think I’d get a response. You’d think they would not mark items as counterfeit or they would allow you to pay to authenticate your items! DePop is FULL of fake items but yet my authentic ones get flagged and I get suspended! It’s ridiculous!!!! Maybe you should get bettter customer support because I still have NOT had someone to talk to about reactivating my account! Also, when they flagged my items they said to send in proof or receipt. Sometimes people purchase items that are authentic but preloved do they may not have a receipt!! In that case allow people to authenticate them through DePop like eBay does!!! This app is a joke. Don’t waste your time they will only remove your account after you take the time to enlist everything!! And go ahead and send that same copy paste reply that you are sending everyone else on here. That you will look into the account if I feel I was treated wrong. I replied appealing to the email is how I got suspended! Pathetic customer service! You wont even contact anyone back is why I’m leaving this review!

App is extremely glitchy. There is not a single day I use this app that I don’t experience glitches. Scrolling through my homepage of sellers I follow is a nightmare, with the display constantly jumping forwards or backwards from the items I’m looking at, and eventually it just stops displaying new items my followed sellers have posted altogether, meaning I miss out on a lot of new items from them. I can’t go through tags that have a lot of items without encountering a glitch that just says “something went wrong” and resets where I was back to the top of the tag, which happens many times every day. Sometimes I’ll be going through a long tag and it’ll just stop displaying items from my country (U.S.) and show items from other countries instead even when I know there’s more listings from my country, so I’ll have to manually exit the app and reset it in order to reveal the rest of the listings in my country, again making me lose my progress in searching through that tag. Looking at and removing items from your shopping bag is extremely slow and buggy if you have more than 20 or so items in there, and if you have too many in there you can’t open the bag without it making the app crash. My app is always updated to the newest version, so that’s not the issue. Also, depop fees and the long payout period on depop payments are extremely predatory towards small business owners on depop and anyone who relies on depop to make a living.

Buyer Beware. I have been using both Poshmark and Depop and have come to conclude that Depop is unsafe for Buyers. One you have experienced an unreliable Seller, it is so difficult to get a refund. The app claims that you should try to work it out with the Seller, but if the issue is that the Seller is unresponsive, have accepted the Buyer’s money through Paypal, then what is the point of making the Buyer contact the Seller to resolve a dispute. Poshmark allows the Buyer to withhold payment for the item until it is delivered and tendered in the specified condition advertised by he Seller on the app. It is safer for a Buyer to go through Poshmark simply because in failed transactions between Seller and Buyer, Poshmark is well invested in ensuring that both parties act and perform as promised. When claiming that an item has not been delivered, Depop send you standard response e-mails telling Buyer to try to contact the Seller through the app as well as Paypal. They provide no help and have no authority in taking appropriate measures to keep their community safe and free from scam. Selling and Buying online is a risky thing to do. Once you have contracted to sell or buy, you subject your identity as well as your address and location to the opposite party. Operating without any authority makes Depop a dangerous way to make simple purchases online. Simple purchases are not simple at all when you run into an issue like the one described above.

The future is bright. There is a lot about this app that I like! The shipping process is very simple! Leaving buyers & sellers reviews is super easy! The percentage Depop earns is low so you get a larger portion of what you sell in comparison to similar apps. If you’re looking for unique items this is an app for you. Unique items are everywhere & not everything has to be name brand. I find beautiful items all the time that are stylish & aren’t name brand. The focus should be on esthetic & how you style an item. My absolute favorite part is the expression of creativity. Depop is a place where you can bring the creative vision you have for your shop alive! Everyone puts a lot of thought into bringing their vision alive! Each shop has its own vibe, & I think that’s so cool! My only complaint is that it is very hard to get ahold of anyone at Depop. If you ever have a pressing issue the process is really annoying & time consuming. Returns & exchanges should be easier. But above all else communication should definitely be improved! Whether it be through email, phone, or through the app there should be a point of contact. It means a lot to hear a voice on the other end of the phone, or knowing there’s a real person emailing you who is concerned & willing to help. In my opinion this app could use some work here & there but 90% of it is working & very user friendly! I can’t wait to see what this app will be like in a year or two. ❤️

Took a turn for the worst. Honestly, when I first downloaded this app in 2018 I loved it. It was so nice and had a great community with affordable clothes. I was able to start selling in 2019 and it was really easy and I got quite a lot of sales in 2019 and overall enjoyed the app. For the past few months in 2020 Depop has literally gone SO DOWNHILL. To start, they barely had any brands from the get go and it’s really hard to try and put brands for items when they don’t even have a category for it on the brand section. And all the updates constantly make me hate the app so much more. The fees are also ridiculous as well, I sold 2 items for $25 and only got $7..?????? They take a huge percentage and even when the money goes to your PayPal, PayPal takes money off too. The newest update is what makes me hate depop the most. They have it so it’s automatically on free shipping and you have to manually change it EVERY time you want to post. It gets annoying and sometimes I forget and end up only getting $4-$5 off of a shirt I sold for $16 because they take fees AND since it’s “free shipping” they pay for the label. The only reason I haven’t deleted this app yet is because my shop has lots of sales and followers that are constantly interested in my items, but if I hadn’t have a shop and sold things, I would’ve deleted this app a long time ago.

BANNED MY 1000 FOLLOWERS ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON!!. I really needed money for my career and then i started depop and i worked really hard on it and got my first 1000 followers after weeks of non stop work and sold many items. Then this elementary schooler followed me and asked me to buy something from her shop. I said no. Then she kept on forcing me and being really rude about it. Then she said “are you black?” (Shes white) And i said “yea why?” Then she said “That’s why your so stubborn” And i was never disgusting in my life as of that moment!! And she kept on spamming with “👩🏿👩🏿👩🏿” and said things like “your people makes america worse” “going around killing people and blaming white innocent cops” and i just ignored her and then she stopped. And this morning i got a email saying MY ACCOUNT was banned for being racist and i was shocked af😔😔 all my hard work just went to waste like that.. i should have blocked her im so stupid. But depop really didn’t care and banned me plus my account was pretty big she had 10 followers and 0 sales and she was the one being racist i dont even know why I WAS THE ONE THAT GOT BANNED. Please bring me back my account you dont know how much i need it..😔😔 and i still have sales, like people paid their money but now since im banned i cant send them their stuff and thats so unfair. Please dont ignore this like you did the last 7 times..

Best Buying/Selling App Ever. I started using Depop around 4 months ago, because I was really into vintage clothing at the time and was looking to find some nice deals. I was so used to using eBay and other apps, but I was very excited to find an app dedicated to mainly clothes only. I found some awesome stuff, and was buying avidly on Depop. I just loved the way the app was set up and just everything about it. The format and everything. It was awesome. Then, one day I decided to try to sell some stuff. I wanted to give it a shot to see if I could get some extra cash. I started off my selling my old clothes. It took a couple weeks of likes on items and messages until I finally had my first sale. It was very exciting for me and I thought I was the coolest person ever that at the age of 14 I sold an item. But my business took off after that sale. It then became a habit of myself and my brother who also has a Depop shop, going to thrift stores every weekend to find cool vintage pieces to re sell on our Depop accounts. Since my first sale, I’ve made about 60+ more sales, and have great feedback from all customers. I’ve made a bunch of money, and I just can’t believe I’m doing this as a 14 year old. It’s truly a great way to become a young entrepreneur. 5 stars.

Give us our money. The worst update was Depop holding funds until 2 days after delivery INCLUDING the shipping fee that is paid out to sellers to SHIP their item. How are we supposed to ship when we don’t even have cost given to us? It just sits on the Depop payments. I’ve been stuck in a rut with hundreds of dollars being held on my Depop payments with no way to ship to buyers since this is my full time job. No ways to pay my bills or even ship the items so I can receive that money that was paid to me for that item. Customer service is good when you’re not transferred through 3-4 people via email. I wish there was a way to use the funds that’s paid to us to ship & not just sitting in an account for 2 weeks with no ways to use it. Haven’t been paid for items that I’ve sold the 06/25 & it’s now 07/06. I thought we were supposed to get paid after 10 days of purchases regardless of shipping? Been a user since 2016 & I miss how Depop used to be, now it’s extremely difficult to use as my full time job & has made me start using different platforms to sell. Give us our money that’s paid to us, stop holding the funds longer than promised. Let us be able to pay our bills. I shouldn’t be able to see I have $400+ in Depop payments but struggle to buy myself food to eat for that night.

Suggestions. The idea of this app is smart and could save people lots of money and help clear out closets; however, I am a little wary of the depop protection after what I recently experienced. I bought an item that never was shipped to me and made sure to wait a decent amount of time after contacting the seller (approximately a month) before contacting depop about it. When I contacted depop they said they would contact the seller and if they did not respond in a few days I should make a claim/start a dispute through PayPal. After a few days and no response, I went to make a dispute; however, I realized that PayPal never sent me a receipt so I did not have a transaction number nor proof through the PayPal app that I made this purchase. Although, looking at my bank account, it was clear that money was taken out of my account through depop. I then called PayPal customer service and was on hold for almost an hour waiting to talk to a real person. The lady on the phone was very nice and helped me get my money back; however, I do think this process could have been a lot easier if depop took it in their hands instead of making their customers figure it out. I also would suggest having a “cancel order” option (like Poshmark) to cancel an order that was never shipped and get money back an easier way.

Not really worth it. At first I used Depop as a buyer and had a really good experience. Most of the sellers are really nice and communicative; the only small issue (that really isn’t in Depop control) is some sellers tend to over price some items but I get the want to make money. So I tried to continue as a seller too bc I was interested in making some money myself. However I have not been able to link my PayPal account to my Depop. Depop’s PayPal pop up kept telling me my credentials were wrong when I knew they weren’t; I reset my password and tried using my email and phone number, nothing. I even went to the PayPal app separately and typed in my credentials and immediately got in, went back to the Depop app and still couldn’t get in. I went to technical support on Depop’s end and didn’t really get my question answered, they just sent me the regular steps on how to link my account when that wasn’t the issue. Then all of a sudden PayPal suspended my account indefinitely for no reason at all. I can’t even get in contact to see what the issue was. If Depop used a different payment method other than PayPal, then I’ll consider coming back but for now I’m gonna stop using it, it’s not worth it.

{EDITED} suuuper buggy.. EDIT: haven’t had any of these things happen in a while- great job !! ^__^ depop has a lot of great items, but the bugs make it unbearable and almost unusable- when i want to open the app it sometimes takes 20+ minutes of trying and retrying to get into the app. i’ll click on it and it’ll show the depop logo on a white screen, sit there for a minute or two- and then crash. i’ve tried deleting the app, updating, restarting, refreshing, it’s just a lost cause unless the depop developers can fix this. also, sometimes when i’m scrolling though items, the top bar will glitch and suddenly i cant scroll anymore, i can only exit the items which takes me back to the very top of ur page which is really annoying ! >_< i’ve talked to friends of mine with depop and they say they have this problem too. also when the searches say they have, for example, “50 new items” i’ll click on the search and go to the newest items sorting but there won’t be any new items :( sorry this is so long but i just wish depop wasn’t so buggy. please fix these minor things and i’ll change my review- thank you so much for your time

I love it..but..we got some issues to solve Depop. Hi, I’ve been using Depop for a couple months now. It’s been awesome. The energy of the people on this platform is amazing. Some people aren’t as nice but that rarely happens. On the other hand lately I’ve noticed people have been contacting me regarding how they try and purchase something from my shop and it comes up as an error. This issue is not just happening to me. I tried contacting Depop about it but they have not gotten back to me. I also contacted them them the same day reporting someone who was not being very nice and they got back to me in 24 hours about that incident but not about my PROBLEM that involves my customers. Considering this is my only income at the moment this is a very big problem that’s going on. I would also like to point out how their only payment option is PayPal. I’ve had so many problems with PayPal it’s insane. If they could have another payment option that would be so helpful. Going through you’re bank card or even Venmo. Please Depop, if you could just add Venmo or anything other than just PayPal that would be amazing.

Had a bad experience. I recently got Depop and made two sales last Week. However it said I was unable to download the shipping label because my bank account or email wasn’t confirmed. I then went to my PayPal app and it said that my bank and email were confirmed. However it still would not let me download the shipping label because the same message came up saying my email or bank account was not confirmed, while they both were because my account said they were. Today is Thursday(5 days later) and when I click on the shipping label from both my email and the depop app, the same message shows up. This is very frustrating to me because I have 2 packages I need to ship out and feel bad I have had to make them wait so long just because the apps I am using are not functioning. I have contacted PayPal about it and they have said that I need to enter my social security number(which seems unsafe, and nobody else I know has had to) and they have said that it’s Depop’s issue not theirs. And when I contacted Depop they responded saying they would like screenshots, which I sent to them 4 days ago, and they have not responded. It’s just really frustrating because Depop took their cut of the money out of my account but the money I am supposed to receive is pending, also, I am making these people wait a very long time on their packages which is unfair to them.

Need to fix update and work on customer service. I’ve been selling on here for over 2 years now and this is my poor experience. The app keeps crashing every time I try to check my notifications or even if I’m sharing my own listings. App tends to freeze and then close, super frustrating please fix this. I also want to complain about the scammers on your platform you never seem to care about. The customer service is awful I keep getting my listings deleted because they are too much of a great quality and Depop automatically assumes I stole and re-listed stock photos. Also if you have any issue they take MONTHS to solve it let alone solve your issue. I had to wait over a year to get some fees reimbursed after I did a refund for a few customers. I suggest trying another selling platform like vinted, ebay, poshmark, tradesy, Shopify and so on. I’m a top rated plus seller and to be honest Depop needs a lot of improvements. I’ve also had accounts steal my photos and Depop did nothing about it even after bringing up my issue to customer care. They tend to favor big shops even if they are not following guidelines. That is the honest truth as to why I don’t even try to sell anymore on this platform. Scammers are also everywhere be cautious if you sell designer or high priced items they tend to send messages trying to scam sellers but Depop does nothing about it.

Great app, still has room to improve. I have been buying and selling through Depop for almost a year now. It’s very easy to use on both counts, and I’ve found some really unique pieces I love. I have very alternative taste in clothing, so I can’t generally find things in typical high street stores, but Depop always has stuff that’s perfect for me. My main complaint is the massive influx in dropshipping. If Depop won’t ban it outright, they should create a separate section for it. It’s difficult to search for anything when the app is clogged up with hundreds of people selling the exact same cheap Chinese knockoffs, and annoying to see listings for something for $50 that you can buy from Wish or Aliexpress yourself for $5. It’s especially scummy that they never disclose that this is what they’re doing, and often explain the 4 to 6 week shipping time as the item being ‘made to order’, which implies that *they* are the one making it, not some Chinese sweatshop. That’s borderline scamming, and I think they should at least be required to make it clear when they’re dropshipping. The misusing of tags also needs to be fixed, because as is, it’s almost impossible to find a specific brand when sellers flood the tags with unrelated items. Finally, I wish they’d ditch the fuzzy searching - for example, searching the keyword ‘clown’ will also return results for ‘crown’, etc.

Amazing, forward thinking, caring, also slow. Depop is an amazing company behind I a huge vintage clothing boom. I really don’t have many Criticisms for this app other than the UI can be a bit buggy and their are a large amount of spam accounts (but they are doing a good job at lowering the amount of spam accounts over the years) if you decide to become a seller be prepared for a fairly easy and quick process before you make your sale. Depop is also active and has fixed a previous bug after I mentioned it here on the App Store reviews * I have to edit my review for this app again as I’m still having problems with clickable hashtags on mobile. Some listings are a little bit better than others but with the iPhone 12 Pro Max I can’t get to hashtag listings unless I slam and spam the hashtag, this is specifically for my listings as a seller account… as a seller when you go to click on hashtags that are your own they do not register.. PLEASE FIX * offers from buyers as a seller on this app are pretty terrible in the aspect they let buyers send you offers for items without securing their payment before offer, this ends in a lot of frustration as you take time to contemplate the offer and maybe finally accept, then you wait 24 hours to have that buyer not follow through… please take a note out of Mercari offer system, much better.

Horrible Payment Method. If it weren’t for a compassionate buyer, I’d have never received my payment. I decided to try Depop instead of eBay, which I usually use, for selling my trendier items. I couldn’t access the shipping label because my PayPal account, that I’ve had for years, “wasn’t verified.” Yet, on my PayPal account, I never received a prompt for my email to be verified. So I had to ship on my own, losing the money for shipping that was automatically deducted from my order. Then I never received my payment because the tracking info wasn’t in Depop, but it was on PayPal. Eventually I received an email from PayPal saying that my payment was refunded to the buyer, and I should reach out for an alternate payment method. So, I reached out to my buyer, who was luckily super nice, and they agreed to pay me through a different app. Then, Depop must have automatic detection against other payment methods, so I received a warning that I cannot use alternate methods, even though PayPal advised this. This would have all been evaded if Depop made you verify PayPal BEFORE ever selling something. If I hadn’t shipped my item on my own rather than the shipping label, my buyer wouldn’t have received it. Had my buyer not been compassionate, I would never have received my money for the item. I will NEVER use Depop again. I’m sticking to eBay, which I’ve had zero problems with.

App is good, customer service design is flawed. I have been selling on Depop for about a month now, and I have made a couple of sales and not really had any notable issues. Recently, however, something weird happened where the app seemed to remove a 30% off promotion I had applied to many of my listings. When I tried to go back to reapply the promotion, the items that I previously was able to discount were not listed under my listings that I could apply a promotion to. I reached out to Depop customer service to help me figure out what was going on, and became dismayed as I quickly came to the realization that there was no way anybody was capable of helping me resolve this issue. First of all, while trying to resolve my issue, instead of assigning one customer service rep to my case, I found myself emailing back and forth with 8 different reps who all seemed to not be in communication with each other, so I found myself having to re-explain my situation and send over screen recordings several times, only to be responded to with what seemed like automated messages that were repetitive, irrelevant to my situation, and unhelpful. I am very frustrated with the way my case was handled, as it is still no closer to being resolved after 18 back and forth emails. While I am going to keep selling on Depop, I now have no way of reapplying a discount to my items that I was able to before, which will most likely prevent me from making more sales altogether.

Not what it used to be. I’ve been selling on Depop since 2017. Depop used to be my favorite platform to sell on and I used to sell more on this app than the other selling apps. But within the last year there’s been a huge decline. Most people who send offers don’t follow through to payment. Buyers expect discounts on top of free shipping for bundles ever since the offer feature rolled out. I miss scrolling through the sellers I follow and stumbling across a unique gems I didn’t know I needed, so I never would have searched for. Now, payment takes forever, up to 10 business days and longer than any other selling app. Poshmark waits until packages are delivered to release payment, but all of their shipping labels are priority labels. The majority of Depop sales are first class shipping labels, so payment takes much longer. For years, I was a top seller and directed all of my sales to Depop first. Now, I dread things selling on Depop because payment takes so long and if a package is lost, support staff don’t uphold sales on the seller end, also unlike other selling apps. Even if tracking says a package is delivered, but a buyer says they didn’t get it, Depop expects sellers to “find it” despite proof of tracking. At this point, I’d rather my items sell elsewhere and it makes me so sad, because I used to love Depop so much and have spent so much time and energy in this space.

App is Buggy and Customer Service Needs Work. I love what Depop can offer but the app can be buggy and customer service is unhelpful. For over a week I haven’t been able to log into my account, which I randomly got signed out of. I was planning on purchasing multiple items in my bag, which I would’ve done by now had this not happened to me. Even on Safari and a different device I get an error message that prevents me from logging in. Even after updating the app and the software on my phone, I still have this issue. At first, costumer service seemed helpful, but once I sent a screen recording of my issue-which they asked for- they literally ghosted me. For 3 days I’ve been waiting for a response (which before only took a couple hours to hear back). I even sent them a follow-up email asking for a response. Nothing. If you can’t help me just say that but my issue was a literal drop menu option on the Depop website so I’d assume they would know how to fix it. This is a huge issue for me I had so many things saved that I was going to buy. I’ve been getting notifications of offers on great items that I can’t accept. I was about to list a bunch of clothes to sell myself, too. Please don’t make every costumer go through this struggle with Depop support!

Rediculous New Guidelines. Poor Execution.. I had been selling and buying with depop for over 3 and a half years with no problems whatsoever. Recently, they decided to "upgrade" their guidelines to keep the community "safe." They removed several of my dresses and tops and said that they fell under the prohibited and restricted items, without telling me why. I had not even noticed that they were bombarding my email with "Your item has been removed" notifications, because I don't check my email every day, and within two days they suspended my account even though they themselves had already taken down my items. It was rediculous. So then I kindly emailed them asking why this happened and whether or not I'd be getting my account back with the rest of my items which I have poured hours into posting. They responded with "As you have failed to comply with our Terms of Service as well as have failed to respect our Community Guidelinesand List of Prohibited and Restricted Items we feel that allowing you to remain active poses too much threat to the Depop Community. As we had mentioned in our account closure email, phishing/ spamming is not acceptable in our community, and is strictly against our rules." They also said this decision is unappealable. This is completely absurd and I'm so disappointed I ever did business with a company that handles matters this way. I will not be having anything to do with them in the future.

Mobile app is great- desktop is bafflingly glitchy. I use my laptop extensively on a daily basis, and today I tried to use Depop there (for convenience and better visuals); and I had one baffling technical problem after another. From my (correct) password not being accepted resulting in my getting locked out of my account, to not being able to upload a profile pic (no option), to the pay screen not registering my name/address info (as though I hadn’t filled out all required fields; I had) to finally alerting me that a seller in the US could not ship to my country (I’m also in the US). To Depop’s credit, their customer service was relatively quick to jump in (via email) and help troubleshoot with a very human presence and clear directions. However, most of their suggestions were already tried, or weren’t applicable. After feeling fed up and stepping away from the madness, I found that uploading a pic on the mobile app was simple and intuitive, and filling out my info to pay proved to be no trouble at all. Tl;dr- there is no rhyme or reason for the load of trouble you may encounter using Depop on a desktop; understand that it is intended primarily for mobile use and use it there if at all possible.

Good for buyers terrible for sellers. This is an interesting app in theory but a in reality a pretty terrible one for sellers. Lots of lowballing and lots of lowballing abuse from other resellers. Lots of resellers whom use apps like Depop and Poshmark and eBay to buy their inventory and in effect trying to underbuy and upsell for themselves at the expense of the business they’re trying to buy from. Reselling has gotten gentrified and since the pandemic the problem has exponentially increased. A lot of younger users who don’t understand the labor and expense that goes into running this type of business whom don’t take the shipping’s costs, feds and other labor and expenses into consideration before making offers. At least 80% of offerers don’t pay when an offer has been accepted. A lot of abuse from users in comments and messages and people being mean, and Depop will penalize you for standing up for yourself and calling out toxic behavior. You can’t do “callouts.” It’s against policy but the abuse itself is a-ok apparently. Pretty terrible for better quality high end products. You are literally better off just giving your really cool looking high end stuff to a consignment store like therealreal and getting 80% of the sale price and not having to worry about the profits at tax time. Just overall not a very good app but then again most of these apps are inherently poor anyway.

Great, but can be amazing 4.5/5*. I’ve been using Depop for a little around a year now and believe it is one of the better sites/ apps for “cleaning out your closet”. They make everything very straight forward and anybody can begin selling in less than 24 hours! But once you begin to use Depop on a daily basis you start to recognize the room for improvement they have and even just some small changes could help some top sellers drastically. There have been a few changes done to Depop throughout my year of use and some have been very necessary including Depop payments! But even Depop payments is in its early stages of development and has a lot of work to be done. What Depop really needs is an update focused on the sellers, and making their jobs easier since they are the ones keeping it alive! There are many small tweaks and changes that can happen that will make selling a greater experience for everyone on the app ( Refreshing items, more than 4 pics, etc ). These changes will not only benefit sellers, but it will help the community and Depop as well. If the sellers are able to put out their best content in the most efficient way possible, customers are happier, and in turn Depop is happier!

Highly Irrational “Business”. I have been a user for four years and with the new “guidelines” their team has only ever made things harder for everyone. I’ve been a loyal user despite the MANY flaws and controversy this app has gained through time. If it weren’t for all the $ they obtain through diligent sellers they’d have everything to lose. Recently my account has been banned due to in applicable “warnings”. Though this news may not be actual news considering other reviews speak on the same issue… At the time I received those warnings and pointed out their errors, no response was given making their customer service just unresponsive and pointless. After cultivating my account on Depop for years you would think their company kept track of the users who have compiled with their regulations for YEARS and instead should focus on the many scammers and absurd customers on there. Overall just INSANE way to do what they call business.. give someone warnings without seeing if something must be a mistake, and just deleting all data a user has ever gained like it’s nothing? If you’re looking to buy or sell valuable items, save yourself and take it elsewhere. Business with Depop is UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE from their own “restrictions”, customers, fees and all around development of the app.

Overall company improvement. I sold with Depop for about 6 years and have had no issues with the app up until recently. My PayPal disconnected from my Depop account so I could no longer make purchases or sales. I tried multiple times to reconnect the accounts but in the end couldn’t. At least on my end. This caused me to use other methods for payment means. I only made two transactions with other Depop accounts (who were also dealing with the same PayPal issue). Less than a few weeks pass and Depop suspends my account indefinitely. The emails I received explained that there had sent me many warnings which they did not and when I tried to explain this they defended themselves and said that their decision would not change. This has happened to many Depop stores. I had read under their one of Depop’s twitter page posts that a girl’s store was suspended for bullying when one of her buyers called her a racial slur. She provided screenshots as evidence and they never gave her account back. Depop needs to open up the payment options and allow users to dispute suspensions if the seller has proof and Depop should HONOR it. PayPal is a very buggy website and does not work for everyone. Instead of punishing the stores that are honest and true they should focus on better means for transactions, policies, and dispute customer service needs.

bad app even worse support. for buying, it’s pretty easy. as a seller, the percentages they take and the hoops you have to jump through are kinda crazy. an example being one time someone said they didn’t receive their order, their proof was a picture including everything i sent to them and what they bought, i got charged back and then STILL had to refund them. the app itself is really glitchy, makes your phone boiling hot, and hard to work with. support is an entire different issue. it’s like they put 6 apes at a table and told them to make it work out. they do not listen, they do not fix the issue, they literally just repeat what their website already says. they don’t even read what you reply with, and if they have “fixed” something for you, they didn’t do it right. 4 years ago i wanted my account deleted, they said my account was deleted, it was not. 4 years later i have a relatively simple issue to fix, if you’re any other app in the world. but these apes literally can’t read. sent evidence of the issue three times, repeated what i did several times, kept telling them what i already tried didn’t work when they recommended it to me, did it again anyways and it still didn’t work. then got ghosted by support. just use vinted, mercari, whatnot, or even ebay. it’s better by a LONGSHOT.

I need help!. So I really loved this app but would never really get any shells but I thought I would keep selling in there anyway. Then I accidentally logged out of it and when I tried to log back in it wouldn’t let me. Sooo I thought okay maybe I need to reset my password so I reset it from my email and then tried again and it still wouldn’t let me:( so then I looked it up and it said to try and delete the app and download it again and so that’s what I did. But then it still wouldn’t let me and it says “the operation could not be completed. Please try again later” and I don’t know what to do because I have tried to get back in and can’t. And I fear that someone may want to buy something and I have know clue. Or my account will be taken down due to “inactivity” but I simply can’t get in. I really need help. UPDATE:!!!! I am back in!!!!! I looked it up for more research and I found some info! So it said to try and turn your phone off and back on to see if it works and then if it doesn’t then turn off your WiFi and try again( that’s when mine worked— when I turned off my WiFi— ) and then if it doesn’t work when you turn off your WiFi, you can email depop about it! Hope this helps anyone with the same issue!:)

Improvements. So far I like this app to get a couple bucks in my pockets. I think it's a great app and has a lot of potential to grow a lot more. I used to use another buy & sell app (not mentioning the name because I don't want to be on here promoting another app) but that other app has made me A LOT of money simply because that app made it so so easy for users to find my listings. I think Depop should me make a couple improvements when it comes to the listings. 1.Create a new feature where we can actually share our listings therefore i listings are getting views and are not forgotten in our feed. By us being able to share new listings are listing are going to be visible to others because it will go in the feed. The more we share the more are listings get views. So for example we we have a homepage and everytime our friends share a listing of their own items or other friends items it goes into our feed"homepage" and walaaah! We are able to see new items and have a lot more potential sales. Also having a "favorite" option to add our favorite users would be great because that way we can always easily go back to their feed and see if they posted new things. I have a lot more feedback. Hopefully these ones are taken into consideration as I do believe that making the listings more visible would me great for the app.

Good app except needs some updates. I’ve been using Depop for a little over a month now. It is a good app to buy/sell clothes but some upgrades should definitely be added to make the app a little better. There are definitely some pros/cons of this app. Some pros are the texting feature where you can communicate with other sellers and it’s all on your phone so that’s amazing too. There are many other pros but I would like to get into some of the updates that Depop should add to make the app better. 1. There are multiple things you can do on your computer but not on your phone. For example, on desktop Depop, you are able to move around your listings and are able to move all sold items to the bottom of your page. I like to have my page organized and as I don’t have a desktop always with me, it’s hard to have my page organized. 2. I know it is not Depop’s fault, but many people overprice things on this app. There will be a $5 shirt from Walmart, and someone will be selling it for $20 plus another $10 for shipping. 3. Another update I would enjoy is when we are getting paid after someone buys our items. For someone like me, I don’t always have the money/materials to send items right away. I should depend on the Depop payments to help with that since people pay for shipping, but payment doesn’t go through until about two days after ‘the item is delivered’. I think that about sums up how I feel about this app. Thanks for reading all of this if you did! 🧡

Help the baby shops too!. I love selling and buying on this app. It’s so cool to see what everyone is selling and it’s awesome to make some extra cash by cleaning out your closet. However, I agree with some of the other reviews. The explore page is full of the same people. Big shops are automatically featured several times a day on the explore page. My shop has been running for more than a year, and i have sold many items, but I’ve only been featured once. It’s hard to catch up to those guys when Depop is putting the spotlight on the same people. Also, the 10% fee that Depop takes is understandable, but also makes it a bit hard to actually make some money. I liked the week where Depop only took 5% and I wish they’d do that permanently. This app is perfect for buying vintage items, but difficult to sell unless you’re in the 1%. UPDATE: the new update has a “staff picks” section of the explore that picks their favorite shops... all of which are shops that have skinny people modeling small clothes. A friend of mine that is currently on that page even got an email that told her to keep up with modeling her clothes and it had a bunch of “what not to do”’s. Unfortunately, I cannot model most of my clothes because I have outgrown them, so I suppose I’ll never be featured on explore. :/

Great finds. I used to use depop to both sell and buy but I found it quite hard to sell even trendier items at the most affordable prices. But something is up with Depops featured/explore page. It’s ALWAYS the same sellers and even items that were sold a week ago that are still being featured. That’s frustrating for both sellers looking to be noticed, and buyers looking for good items. I hate when I click on something from the featured page thinking “oh this is cute” only to find that it was sold 6 days ago — why is it still even there?? It’s also frustrating to be scrolling down that page and you see... the same of everything. 90% striped clothing. Two days later, 90% blue things. Few days later the explore page is 90% belts, or some other random accessory. Does that happen to anybody else or am I crazy? I hate it. That being said, I have found some great stuff as a buyer. Some of my favorite items in my wardrobe are from depop and I love the sellers that go the extra mile to create a good transaction. I believe depop recently began giving buyers a tailored page “just for you” and your individual interests. Is this supposed to be based on your personal searches? Because at this moment, my “just for you” page is mainly comprised of dad sneakers... which I have never searched or clicked on once during my entire time on depop. I’ve shown 0 interest in them ... so why are they all I’m seeing?

Well I'm happy with it. I see a lot of mixed reviews here that I've taken the time to read. I think people are expecting a lot from this app, which is very good; though demanding all of the kinks and tweaks to be made ASAP I don't necessarily agree with. In my opinion the app does what it is supposed to. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the explorer page but come on. Okay yes, I get that it helps sell items but is it really that big of a deal? So the same, relatively well known sellers get a spot more frequently than the rest of us but that's just something that needs to be worked out. And, if you asked me, doesn't take away from the functionality of the app. To me, the app is lovely and I spend a lot of time paroozing through clothes just to pass time. I know the app has a couple of things that need a bit of TLC but I'm going to stick by the app and support it because I think it's a great concept. All apps have things that they need to work out, I mean come on.. that new snapchat update?... Instagram's chronological issue that they haven't changed bc they won't acknowledge that we all loath is? No. That is not this app. This app, as I have seen, listens to the critique of its users. I love this app for that. And I think it deserves more than people care to give it.

Depop is a freaking MESS. Poshmark or Mercari is way better. I’ve been on depop for 6 years so I’ve seen a ton of things go down. A lot of rude people on this app. It’s caused me so much anxiety since depop doesn’t seem to care about situational issues. Customer service has been nothing but blunt to me and always walk around my questions. my account recently got hacked and it’s been 2 and half weeks and I STILL CANT GET IN. I’ve emailed them countless times and they keep saying they email me a password reset that I never receive... I’m beyond frustrated as someone did not use PayPal to pay and I can’t ship their order, or contact them. Customer service is awful... I’m surprised they don’t have a phone number to call so things can move along quicker... yet I see them posting on all these social media accounts. Yeah after 6 years I’ve had enough this app is just a joke now. When you search anything you get all these scams that pop up or people trying to drop ship from China. They use to have a worldwide button where you could only search worldwide and took it away, which is super inconvenient as some brands aren’t worldwide so I have to scroll for 5 minutes straight just to get to the worldwide section...which imo is going backwards?! I have no idea who runs this app but they are beyond stuck up if they don’t care to better their customer service....Please DO BETTER.

Users take advantage of you. I started using this app a few months ago and all was good until I bought from a user that deleted their account before shipping their item. Depop does offer customer service however, they provided little to no help in getting my money back. Instead told me that their was a dispute with the user’s account and to wait for my money to possibly and/or item to come, both which never did. I was also sent a link by Depop to handle the dispute with PayPal even though I didn’t pay using PayPal. It seems that accounts like these that take advantage of people don’t get any serious action or consequences. Issues like these can be handled better and Depop can at the very least notify those who purchased items from an account that’s having issues or give those a refund for their product. It makes me wary to use this app to buy anything knowing this could easily happen again. Edit: PayPal did not pull up any transaction history used through the Depop app. Which is why I state I did not use PayPal to pay for my item. This creates an issue when reporting a problem to PayPal due to there being no history. There’s little options for those that have made an in-app purchase due to lack of history. Instead, the only option seems to be go through the same process of filling out a description of your dispute, which was the same process being used by Depop to handle the situation.

SCAMMERS & DELETED LISTINGS WITHOUT WARNING. I find it hilarious that some of these 5 star reviews are actually negative reviews. As a first time seller on this stupid app, i received my first message from a SCAMMER. that should automatically tell you something right there. Save yourself the trouble and don’t use this junk. It’s basically eBay/Craigslist with lipstick. They charge you up the behind for selling your stuff, it feels like you’re getting robbed. They say it’s for “running the app” like okay, I don’t see Poshmark doing this. In fact, just GO TO POSHMARK. or any other honest app other than Depop. It’s basically like the worst of social media, everyone needs to tag other brands for “exposure” and get in their “explore” page. Please. I just wanna sell my clothes, alright? They also deleted my listings WITHOUT ANY WARNING. Their warning was AFTER they deleted my listings. The fix could’ve just been sending me a message first, and then I can take down the one photo you have a problem with. I’m not taking the time to redo my listings bc of your deplorable service. I’m taking the time to write this review to warn others about the disgusting service you have, Depop and whoever Luis is from “customer service.” Zero stars if I could. To the “developer”: Please save the automated response that tries to vilify me. The photo you had a problem with was a product shot from the original store. So if that’s “unsafe,” then maybe you shouldn’t be on the internet.

Nice App but has a Lot of Bugs. I love this app for selling clothes. It’s an easy way to make your items accessible to the public as well as find quality items to purchase. I spend lots of time on this app buying and selling because it makes buying clothes sustainably and second hand more easy! That being said, I have a lot of issues with this app because of the innumerable amount of bugs it has. To name a few, it does not recognize when you have looked at your notifications and therefore the red alert on the iphone will not go away, and if an account is disabled or deleted, you can’t unlike the posts from that account and therefore they will remain in your liked posts forever. There are many other bugs that are a pain to deal with on a daily basis. A few other issues with this app are that there are many sellers on here that are rude, try to scam you, or overcharge for simple items - but that isn’t really Depop’s fault. Depop takes about 10% of your earnings each time you make a sale which definitely adds up over time so if you’re planning on selling a lot of clothes and/or having a larger business, then Depop is not the place to start your shop. But if you have a very small business and sell just your old clothes then Depop is a great place to do that! I prefer Depop to other selling apps such as Poshmark and Ebay immensely! I only hope that Depop can fix a lot of the bugs that currently exist on the app.

So glitchy & bad updates.. I’ll start by saying Depop is my favorite app to buy and sell. I love the way the interface looks and how vast the different aesthetics are to choose from. But this app has serious issues. Every single time I get on the app it seems like a new issue has appeared. It loads and crashes when listing, and sometimes the keyboard disappears. When browsing, my phone gets insanely hot and often crashes. Currently, I can’t get my notifications to go away and that is annoying. I’m just curious if the developers even check their updates before sending them out? I have heard several people in a forum claim that they have left Depop just due to these issues. Not only that, but they keep updating the app to include things that absolutely no one wants. Now, instead of seeing my listing when I click on it, I have to go through an entirely useless screen. It’s harder to find the new posts from people I follow. Also, half of my feed is posts from people begging for someone to buy their items, which, last time I checked, wasn’t allowed, but Depop refuses to crack down on these beggars. I can’t clear the feedback notification that says someone has left me feedback because there is so “see feedback” option on the listing page. I could really go on and on. I just wish that Depop would listen to their community, only focus on updates that matter, and fix the constant bugs.

Good enough for me. I’ve had Depop for a while now and I’ve enjoyed it a lot for the most part as a buyer (haven’t experienced selling yet). I thought I hated shopping for clothing before I found Depop. I guess I just hate leaving my cozy home and the general styles I see at the mall and whatnot, but while using Depop I’m able to shop from the comfort of my house and find a variety of cute options of clothing in much lesser time than I would at a physical store. It’s easy to use and I’ve found so many nice outfits that I adore, and most are vintage meaning it’s likely I never would have had the opportunity to purchase without Depop. Plus, buying second hand clothing is environment friendly :) One complaint I do have though is that the app exits me out after a certain amount a time, which can get a bit irritating because I lose where I’m browsing. I hope this gets fixed, or that an option to check our browsing history is made available. I’m also glad that the app doesn’t give annoying notifications, except when they’re necessary, like follower updates/pm messages/comments from other users etc. I’ve seen that a lot of people have other (less positive) things to say about it, but for a shopping app, I think it’s a lot better in comparison to others and that it’s done a great job for the most part.

Favorite clothing app but... Depop is by far my favorite clothing, jewelry, vintage, etc. app, you can find the most amazing items on here. And stuff that people make themselves, it’s basically a more wearable Etsy lol. But I have some problems with the app itself. When it comes to searching it would be amazing if you had a way to sort things from low to high price. It would make searching easier for us who don’t have that much $$$. Another annoying thing is people constantly tag items as brands that they’re not for exposure, it IS VERY difficult to find things and sell things when there’s a huge amount of items that have nothing to do with that tag. And also when it comes to liked collections. It would be great if you had a feature where you could edit everything you have liked and select them and put them into collections from there, basically like photos in your phone that you can just select them all and put them into albums. And a way to easily delete the items that have been sold. Another thing is in my collections when I remove the first item the image for that collection goes blank and it’s just gray.

improvements. I appreciate the overall concept and certain aspects of Depop because I can conveniently make money off used clothes and also develop a clothing brand of my own , but there are a couple of features I would love to see Depop revamp/implement. First , I get it that sellers probably shouldn’t be notified which particular potential buyers have bagged their items so they won’t pressure the buyer into making that purchase , but it would be very helpful for sellers to get an idea of what time range the buyer added said item to their cart so we can make offers to users who liked that item(s) throughout the time range. Secondly, Depop could have a little tiny section maybe just a small corner of the home page that tells you which times in your time zone generate the most overall Depop activity. Going a step further, eventually the technology could improve to share the activity of users surrounding particular styles of items which you are selling. Lastly, I feel Depop should allow more leniency to sellers and rid the site of the “seller usually ships in ___ days” section of the bio. As a seller of both second hand and custom pieces, a second hand piece takes thirty minutes to assemble and drop off at the post office , whereas a cusom piece can take multiple days to perfect and ship out. Bc of the large difference in time I do not think it is fair for the ship time to account for only the longest amount of time.

Seller. This is such a frustrating platform to work on. They have glitches frequently. If a customer responds to my PM I have to clear the app/refresh it, in order to receive their message. I try my best to create drafts all at once so I can post them throughout the week. If I do more than 5 at a time it starts to kick me off the platform and not save the work I did. Their support team always lags to respond. Sometimes I want to make a listing and I can’t use Depops shipping methods, other times I can. They are CONSTANTLY updating the app, but not making it ease for sellers to do their job. Sometime I can review an old shipping lable, other times I can’t. There is no consistency with this app. It makes us sellers look very unprofessional when we don’t even know how to work the app sometimes. I really don’t understand how they take a percentage of our sales, but don’t have a fully functioning app. Also, ever since they added boosting methods, my engagement has gone down significantly. Idk if anyone else has experienced this, but this isn’t cool. I appreciate the updates that they have been trying to make. I appreciate to attempts, but that doesn’t help with the functionality of it. The whole point of updating is to make the app more user friendly for buyers and sellers. I just don’t see that on the sellers end.

Needs More Features Please. Writing my first review ever just so the developers hopefully see this . I love Depop it helped me start up my first small business but I mainly use an iPad and thermal printer for time and convince and there is no actual iPad version of Depop the display looks to be the size of a phone. I hope they create an iPad version too sometime soon I think it would be helpful to many people. For those who don’t have laptops but use their iPad as a laptop. Second and last thing I hope the developers soon add in is to edit the size of shipping labels on the application which is my biggest problem. They only give you the option of basically printing it out through an ink printer. It would be very helpful to add a 4x6 setting for label printers out there. I’ve lost 2 packages because I can’t find a way to clearly print out the tracking number. Which is a severe inconvenience in trying to sell through Depop. I know Etsy EBay Poshmark and Mercari have this option. I have high hopes and expectations for Depop considering the consumer base they have on this application. Otherwise I think Depop is a great app I give it a 3 star just for these 2 inconveniences and so the developers notice this review.

Could be so much better. I love using this app to sell my clothes and find some beautiful second hand pieces but unfortunately it’s becoming overrun with Shein garbage and people creating business pages selling new clothes - which is the opposite of the sustainable/environmentally conscious reason it was started. The customer service is always terrible. They can remove posts or your whole account and you just lose all your data. Eg I set up my boyfriend’s account for him and added my PayPal account because we share this (but different emails, and his page has men’s clothes and mine has women’s clothes), and they asked me to send our IDs to prove we’re too different people, so I did, but then they still deleted his account anyway. So what was the point of asking me for it? And they gave me no way of updating his details once they made me aware of the issue I immediately tried resolving it and they weren’t helpful at all. We’ve both sold a lot of items and made them money, I think from now on I’ll be using Facebook marketplace and other apps, they also don’t charge 10% (including 10% of the shipping fee which makes no sense).

Extra cash. This app helped me a lot throughout high-school as I made extra cash on the side while I was studying. I feel like the only thing that should change about the app is the sizing for shoes as they only have sizing in UK size whereas Aussie shoes are in regular AU sizing. Apart from that I highly recommend depop for teens adults and literally anyone, it’s fun and super easy to use and I’ve saved up quite a lot from it which is always a plus! Thanks depop your the best!!!!! Also I feel like it would be cool if once a month there was a competition or something fun on the app. Just a thought

Has its problems. Overall an alright app and a good forum, but the shop takes way too much commission from the seller and only supports transactions via PayPal which everyone knows is a garbage company. Furthermore I’ve had my posts deleted and received warnings that depop will delete my account for having the word “bootleg” in the caption, whereas people selling bootleg items without letting their buyers know are able to scam people easily. Which I think is an absolute rort, if I’m honest enough to let people know that what im selling isn’t genuine so they can make an informed decision about their purchase, why am I getting punished for it? Also I don’t know what it is that every time you guys update your app, something else goes wrong, after the most recent update I’m unable to open up my notifications tab.

Actually very good. When I downloaded Depop I expected it to be full of expensive, custom clothing in very limited sizes, but what I got frankly surprised me. While it does have the custom clothing in (sometimes) limited sizes, that is only a very very small amount compared to the affordable, used, custom, and even brand new products. I'm a 15 year old boy and so I wasn't looking for any 'cute crop tops', and so I searched for what I was looking for, a supreme tee. They had so many, from various sellers in various countries, and in various conditions. This resulted in me getting exactly what I was looking for, a slightly used authentic supreme tee for fairly cheap. Highly recommended.

accusations.. this is so fustrating. i've sold about 180 items and i've been using the platform for over a YEAR. i got my account permanently deleted for "dropshipping"..? i provided all the information i could get to show i wasn't dropshipping and that i actually own the items myself, however they just closed the case without telling me what i could've added. this is ridiculous, they don't care about the sellers and how hard it is for me as it was my main source of income and i haven't been able to sleep knowing it was taken away from me permanently. they called me a "threat" even though i showed them all the proof they needed. i can't even buy or sell anything i own now as i'm permanently banned and being told i was dropshipping when i'm simply just selling clothes that I OWN?

Has now become unusable. Few recent changes to the UI has made the app literally unusable. Will be using less since eBay is now clearly better. Sort feature is basically useless so you can’t find anything in your size that you can wear. Apparently Depop thinks your body can shape shift in a second because you’re trying to find small sized jackets but it’s all 20% small, %20 medium and %60 large. Seriously? And the sort and feature buttons is all the way up now, and not at the bottom of the UI as it was previously. This is horrible since you have use two fingers to use the app now since your thumb can’t reach the top of the screen. You can’t even personalise the UI. Unintuitive and Horrible, Dont change what’s broken. This new recent changes, along with stupid previous features like not being able to see if listings has sold within your liked collections or only seeing the shipping price of an item once you’ve added it to the bag, only makes Depop useful for buying one size items like hats. Get your game together Depop, dont be surprised when you lose customers when you’re anti consumer.

Easy to use and cute stuff. I really like this app and it’s a shame that I can’t support it more - the sellers have great prices and it good that I’m able to negotiate if I want too it’s just a shame that I can’t use it as freely as I would like. My issue is that you can only pay with PayPal (from my experience) and as I don’t have a pay pall account (and am not allowed one as I am under 18) I have to go to my parents every time I want to buy something which I would do normally but it makes it a much bigger hassle, so I looked online to see if there was another option and the Depop website said I could use PayPal’s guest checkout but it doesn’t have a ‘guest check out’ option when I go to pay. I would much rather it have more options than just paypal and although im pretty sure it’s a privacy thing this is something that needs to be changed to make it more accessible to buyers and sellers. Aside from all this it’s great and I’ve found a lot of nice clothes and it’s very simple just a shame that I have to use PayPal

Clunky. Depop is a good idea, and a useful buy/sell platform, (so 2 stars there) however the app’s faux-Instagram layout leaves a lot to be desired for some basic functions, that seem to have been overlooked by devs. Like short of deleting everything, it is insanely difficult to temporarily delist an item or close your seller ‘shop’ if, say, you go on holiday/ move house etc. and can’t fill orders for a while. Why? Apart from being frustrating for sellers, it also obviously leads to non-responsive sellers, who have just not bothered to delete their shop / item. (Good luck getting a refund there!) The website also has this problem, and the only workaround (copy item listing, save as draft, then delete original) is most time consuming. There seems to be no information on app / site that addresses this basic e-commerce function

Good app to sell, but there’s a downside.. I’ve been using depop for a while. I saw someone else use it after I took a long break from an older platform called Carousell. I liked that it set up your address and payment details so you didn’t have to worry about it later. Uploading things was easy. The cons that REALLY bother me: Depop takes 10% of the sale and then ANOTHER 10% of the shipping costs which makes you go even more into a less of a profit margin as you still have to fork out money to cover the missing amount of shipping you have to pay the shipping company. It’s a little bit greedy. I get there are running costs - but imagine selling something for $1000 and then losing $100 off that + shipping costs. Surely with the amount of users that use this can carry the weight of development/running costs easily without having to take a whopping 10% of the item sale AND 10% shipping. I used to use Carousell - which did not charge or take any fees from my sales. Wish it was a little more like that or if depop could lessen their take to a lot less that would be fair.

Some suggestions!. I really enjoy selling on Depop and think it’s overall a great app of its kind! Although I do have some small suggestions that might help with more technical difficulties. 1. My account was hacked last month, and I lost access to the account because the person who took over was so easily able to change the email in my profile, so it put the account in their hands. This meant when I tried to change my password for my account, it just went to their email. So I would suggest that there is more security for this, like a conformation email to your email to activate the change so you have full control and it can’t be so easily changed. 2. Also on the same subject, it’s helpful when Depop sends emails just to let you know that your email or password was changed. In these emails it has a button to ask if it wasn’t you, the problem is when you do press this, it just takes you to the help page and does no Immediate action. It is important to take immediate action if you are hacked, and I think there should be an option to temporarily take down your account so that the situation can be fixed.

Good but…. It’s a good idea for an app to earn some pocket money on unwanted items however… The app is constantly glitchy and there’s never a day where don’t I experience multiple crashes / bugs. But that’s not nearly as bad as the HORRENDOUS customer service. I recently had my account suspended for “violating the guide lines” but was never told what it was so I reached out via emails, not only did the response take forever but they refused to answer a single one of my questions, they were just beating around the bush and backtracking. Took about a solid week of emailing for them to tell me, the time wasting of the depop team left a bad taste in my mouth and I asked multiple times if there was someone further up I could talk to since they clearly didn’t know/ care. Once again question was not answered and in fact ignored. I thought perhaps I was just unlucky with this experience but I then talked to others who use the app and many have had the same problem with the depop team. I don’t typically complain but this experience was simply infuriating, depop Australia is a joke. I also have reached out for queries via email about certain things ie technical issues / genuine questions and have yet to receive responses after many weeks. I understand it’s a busy time of year and people have holidays but seems like there isn’t anyone reading the depop emails at any time of the year :( and sometimess wouldn’t mind switching to other platforms with half decent customer service

Stock images ban - 1000’s of other users doing this and aren’t banned!!!. Account was deleted due to using ‘stock images’ when half the ones I used weren’t stock images and were my own images I took myself, or from friends who posed for the pictures.. 1000’s of other users I follow and see use stock images and aren’t deleted which makes no sense at all!! I don’t know how they decide who to ban but it’s very unfair and discriminatory. They deleted my account mid transactions now I cannot ship customers there items or update them with tracking numbers, I also cannot access any of my shipping information for items I have purchased from sellers which is very very poor service from depop - too bad if my items never show up because depop block you from ever making another account! Extremely disappointing app, the ‘customer service’ if that’s what you would even call it is horrible, when glitches happen (this happens monthly, even weekly) they never announce to let sellers know of the issues and we as sellers would have to comment on there Instagram photos/page to tell them. No public announcements to reassure sellers/buyers they are aware of issues and fixing it. I would not recommend depop.

Pretty good. I’ve sold a few things and bought things really easily, however it’s easy to get scammed and I contacted Depop and weren’t the best help still dealing with the purchase. My messages don’t always send and I’ve updated and deleted and downloaded the app multiple times however doesn’t fix the issue. Super easy to use just has its downsides. I would like to see a few improvements like another way to contact sellers like having the option to email or message via phone number or even with the messages having something were you can tell if the seller has seen it and if your message has been delivered also being able to upload photos or send customers photos I’ve had multiple customers asking for more photos but not being able to send them privately or upload more. Even if there’s a verification thing showing that the seller if 100% not a scam I know you can look through their reviews but I’ve purchased from people before who have sold many things and have no reviews I think there should be a depop approve section.

Depop Fees Just Ridiculous. Depop is a good app and reasonably easy to use. However, the fees that depop takes from each item are just ridiculous and are the reason I’ve stopped using depop and moved to facebook groups to sell my clothes. I understand depop taking a small portion of profits, but if I’m selling something for $300 I see no reason why depop needs to take $30 from that. I just cannot afford to be losing that money, and it’s really just suggesting that I am paying depop $30 to give me a platform to sell clothes on which is just ridiculous. What’s even worse is that when users try to get around these by offering to talk on different platforms or buy the items by bank transfer, they get immediately banned from depop. Basically, if depop were less greedy or made money from advertisements like every other app than the experience using depop would be so much better.

great app, improvements needed!. Depop is a great concept and however I have some recommendations which would improve the usability of the app for us shoppers: 1. There needs to be more options when saving products. Instead of every ‘saved’ listing going to the one page, an option to separate into collections/folders would be a great improvement! This way users can organise their favourite items but keep them private from followers. 2. The STYLE EDIT needs a better algorithm. Most of the listings are unlike items I’ve liked or saved, and as soon as I visit one sellers page, my ‘style edit’ is full of only their listings! Today I looked at one out of Nike shoes and my entire page was just Nike shoes. It needs to be more personalised and show new products similar to what users like. 3. Finally on the topic of the ‘style edit’ it needs to be its own page such as the ‘explore’ page, not a small section under ‘My DNA.’ I DO NOT look at the explore page as i don’t care what Depop ‘loves’ I want to see things that I will love and potentially buy. Depop would make more money if it introduces potential buyers to products they will actually want to buy instead of having to spend hours searching and scrolling. Thank you Depop if you read my improvements and I would LOVE to see them implemented on this amazing app I have grown to love, thank you!

Don’t do it unless you’re desperate. I had gone into depop, originally, with the highest expectations that I would find a really amazing platform with like minded people and a support team helping me all the way. Not quite. Not only does depop charge 10% of the total (shipping included meaning you are often going into your profit just to ship the item), but they only do it through PayPal meaning that you get another 3-4% deducted from that aswelll. And then one might think to increase the cost of the item or tax, however remember these percentages only increase with the price. For example for a $27 sale I would get $1 off from PayPal and $2.7 off depop, totally $3.7 plus the $12 shipping fee meaning I’m making less than $12!! Not to mention this is all if you do get customers as depop only promotes the same users and often at times features already sold products, you are unlikely to have a lot of traffic. STICK TO EBAY.

Not sure how I feel as I got scammed. I love this app with users you can trust. However I was looking for some new dance shoes and I found a pair, I talked to the girl and we arranged a price and I payed. After that it was like the seller fell off the face of the earth. She was active on her account but never got back to my messages. over 11 days had passed after i had payed, I left a review saying that she was unreliable and didn’t have the best customer service. Straight after I got a review saying I was “rude and impatient”. I asked if she was going to send the shoes or give me a refund for the last time and she no... :/ after that I read that depop has like an insurance kinda thing. So I emailed them and all I got told was to go into the help section. I haven’t gotten a refund from anyone and I recommend if you want to buy from someone make sure the seller has no bad reviews so you don’t get scammed. :) x

Nice concept but still new and w.i.p!. Nice and fun lil app but still new so definitely still a work in progress and generally more trend based. Having sold items on many online platforms depop isn’t bad! I only started mid last year and it is slow and steady. While it does cost $$$ to run the app, it is slightly pricier considering there is no buyer or seller support strictly offered by depop. So in turn, each item you sell will incur a 13% fee (10% depop, %3~ paypal). The Australian version of the app doesn’t allow you to add the brand unlike sellers from the US which I’ve seen. Also not as many offers by depop are available to Australians. Regarding the customers, I’ve found my ‘trendier’ items sell more. A lot of no responses/time wasters which is usual - I just learn to forget and move on. Depop buyers usually prefer to negotiate, not all though! If you are a buyer make sure to ask for details or any imperfections of the item so you are aware before purchasing. As depop doesn’t really provide any description/condition prompts, more sellers should make the habit of listing the accurate condition and imperfections so it is easier for everyone. I try to factor in the selling fees to the item cost but it doesn’t always go well! Generally pretty glitchy. Sometimes red notifications will appear when you have already seen them ages ago. Would be great if Australian users could be charged in AUD eventually. Search and sort function would be good in depop stores.

Horrible App and Company. My account was banned for using 'hashtags and keywords', even though none of my posts had either at the time of banning. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I emailed them asking for evidence of what I had done wrong. They completely ignored my request and sent multiple rude, dismissive and frankly nasty emails back. As other users have mentioned, each time someone different emails you so you can't progress the conversation at all. Considering I have made them a fair bit of money over the years (they got 10% of all my sales - a complaint for another time), I feel incredibly disappointed by the shocking customer service. They treat regular users like 'a danger to the community' (something they actually called me after accusing me of using keywords). Meanwhile 90% of users on depop use stock photos, keywords and hashtags for visibility. An all round evil and careless company.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. if you want to live in fear that they’re going to delete your account for no reason at any moment and you’ll lose all your money and hard work then this app is perfect for you! They monitor key words and if you so dare say the word “PayPal” they delete your account. A customer asked how to buy and I said “you need to have PayPal so that you can buy from Depop. Just add the items to your cart and check out :)” and they deleted my account for saying that and said it was “out of app payments”. I had a huge panic attack at 2am and tried messaging their customer support and they admitted they were wrong but refused to uplift the ban even with all the evidence shown. I have put my entire all into my Depop account and have paid over $3,000 in Depop fees. They don’t care about their users at all.

Don’t use Depop. The absolute worst app ever that don’t care about sellers and creators. I’ve been using the app for 7 years and am a top seller on here with over 7000 followers. However Depop will delete your posts for no reason and will give you no explanation or elaboration. Depop pretend to care about upcycling but sellers are forced to markup items due to the 10% service fee. Depop will target high profile sellers for making the smallest mistakes but let 80% of other users on the app get away with posting stock images, selling counterfeit items or breaking their terms of service. Depop will delete your account for again no reason and will give you no explanation. They’ll also delete your account when you have pending sales to post out or pending purchases and you aren’t able to refund the buyers or even get a refund for the items you’ve purchased. The absolute worst customer service team. I recommend everyone use Instagram, EBay, Poshmark or any other service over this vile app.

Stupid app, currency issue never fix. Depop’s algorithm keep changing the currency from £ to AUD even I never set my region to Australia. When I listed out my item they are in £ and the app just automatically change it to AUD for me and there is no way I can change it back. This currency issue making me losing literally 100% of my profit. Reflecting this to the Depop team all they tell me is to relist my item and make me loss of all the like and comments, which means potential buyers. Can you even believe it? They charge 10% of your item selling price and the app performance is horrible, once you reflect the issue instead of helping you solving it all they imply is ‘deal it yourself’. Either decrease the portion of Depop fee and stop stripping us off or DO A BETTER JOB. Following my most recent sale, the item was sell for £18 and somehow the currency sign changed. Asked from buyer that £18 was sent from her bank account and I have received AUD18 instead, which from conversion is less than £9. I have literally lost half of my sale price, plus stupid Depop fee and shipping cost. Contact PayPal and they declare that the rest has went to Depop. So Depop has received £1.8 + £9 pounds from this currency scam. More than £10 pounds in their pocket per single purchase, who the hell know how much they can make per day. Please guys, especially if you want to sell and have an eBay account stick with eBay, don’t even bother to try this app.

Depop team is extremely entitled. The depop team are extremely entitled and quite frankly the way they deal with users is pretty disgusting. After my account was banned for apparently accepting or requesting out of app payments, I emailed the support team to question why this had happened considering I never once had sone this? The buyer who I was discussing an item of clothing with asked if I would accept bank transfers to which I declined and we continued to complete the transaction using depop’s in app payment method. I sent them screenshots of the PayPal payment (to which they took a few dollars as a part of their fee) and they kept shutting me down saying my account hadn’t been suspended for no reason and I had apparently used out of app purchases to “avoid their fees”. I have been emailing them back and forth for months, and for months I’ve asked for them to send proof of my infringement on the terms of use. The way in which the team treat users who are only trying to do the right thing has honestly been shocking and I have not dealt with worse customer service in my life. Not one of the persons I have emailed has heard me out and they all send back the same thing reworded each time. Extremely entitled attitudes. Cant recommend this app at all, in case of an event like this do not rely on their “support”

Honestly. I’ve used Depop for a couple of months now and so far it’s been amazing. It’s pretty easy to sell and buy items, I’ve even sold a couple myself. You can find almost anything on the app and it’s pretty cool. For anyone considering downloading this app and joining the Depop community, go for it. The layout is kind of like Instagram, where you have a feed page and you can like and make collections. Everyone that I’ve come in contact with on depop is super nice and they tend to be very understanding. As much as I love the app, it can be annoying when the seller doesn’t respond to your messages about an item. I know this isn’t really something Depop can fix or control but just putting it out there. Also a 10% cut of an item sold is a bit expensive especially when Paypal takes a cut too. It would be nice if the percentage was a bit lower but otherwise this app is pretty perfect.

I love it but…. I love depop, found some really cool stuff on there. However for SO long, when I search something (for example ripcurl) it either doesn’t come up with everything with ripcurl in the description (as my partner gets some items that I don’t even though we search the same thing) or it says “10 new results” but when I go into it, I can see no new products. Which leads me to my next issue, when I select “sort by” & choose any of the options, it doesn’t actually sort them. It might sort in a rough order but I’m finding if I select “most popular” something with 7 likes will be ahead of something with 80 likes. This happens when you select “newly listed” too, you get things that have been up for 3 days before things that have been up for 2 hours most of the time. These have been issues I have had for a very long time now, yet the frequency of the updates never fixes them.

Depop is a scam and a haven for fake designer. I decided to download depop after hearing about it from other people. It made a few purchases and everything was all good. However I purchased a pair of Gucci trackpants that I paid 240$ and when they arrived, I quickly noticed that they were fakes. I contacted depop and tried to get my money back but because I had made the purchase through PayPal, I was told I had to raise a dispute on PayPal and get my money back through them. I raised a dispute on PayPal and after weeks of waiting for the seller to reply, I was finally told by PayPal that if I send the pants back to the seller and he confirms that they have arrived then I will be refunded. So I had to pay the original 240$ plus the extra 30$ for shipping with tracking back to the seller and after spending 270$, the seller denied that they received the item back even after shipping showed that they had been delivered. So in the end I spent 270$ on this item and got nothing from it and the case was closed by PayPal. I find it ridiculous how Depop and PayPal trust someone who is selling counterfeit items, which is against Depop policy to begin with, to have the morale compass to issue a refund when they are can easily choose not to. I will never be using Depop or PayPal again as their money back guarantee is an absolute joke and it favours the seller much more than the buyer.

Do yourself a favour and delete Depop. Got banned from Depop after requesting to pick up the item rather than have it posted by someone who lived in my same suburb (which was once allowed). Customer service specified that they had to ban me from the app as they have a duty to “keep the community safe”, however also mentioned that if I formally apologise in an email, admit full fault for breaking Terms of Service and promise to never infringe Terms of Service again they will CONSIDER removing my ban. What’s the point in banning people if you can unban them if they apologise? Why not just give a warning then? You know what? I’ll keep my ban and wear it proudly. I will go take my business elsewhere where I’m not bullied by customer service and treated like a criminal. (Looking forward to reading the response submitted by your bot)

Hate DNA update. The new update with the DNA section is so pointless and reduces activity. Firstly, we can already check our saved posts already on our profile page and for it to take up majority of the DNA section is so useless. I also hate that whenever I go onto the depop app it’s the first thing to pop up which really takes away from the importance of the explore page for domestic sellers who needed more activity on their posts. Now even if someone gets on the explore page we hardly get any likes and it really is sad because a lot of sellers rely on the explore page to sell their items. I’d much rather support local sellers than purchase items from overseas and I feel a lot of sellers feel this way too. I hope you’d change it back to the previous layout with the suggestion at the top and explore page items at the bottom all under the explore section, as it’s just enough exposure for both domestic and international items and also much simpler to see posts from sellers I’m following.

Great app!! But has some issues. Great app! Although the new update I’m not in love with as are many others. The all just seems a little less enjoyable with the new update. I have found myself not using the app the past couple of days since it’s updated. Another issue is the 10% taken from depop, again I understand why this would be put in place i just think sometimes we lose a lot of money. Plus PayPal that a percentage aswell. I completely understand this as it’s how you earn money from the app I just maybe think maybe 5% would be better. I know it’s not just be but I will list my items including the 10% taken off so I’m not losing any money as it usually will take my profit. Doing this many people will not buy my items as they are listed highly than I would normally sell them without the 10%.

Fee. I love using this app, it’s a great way to recycle clothes! The only thing I find stressful is the fact that the fee gets taken straight out of your account. As a new user of the app, when an item is sold PayPal usually holds it for upto 4 weeks or longer meaning it is inaccessible and isn’t in my account straight away. I find this stressful as I like to ship items straight away but since the total cost of the item and shipping is ‘pending’ or on hold, I often do not have money to ship items off. I would just like if the fee gets taken out once the money is accessible because it seems depop just takes the fee out of the current money you have even when the money you just made hasn’t gone into the account yet.

Depop…. I list heaps of items on depop. I love the app itself but with shipping and the price depop have to take to keep the app running, I barely make a profit. I’m pretty sure they take 10% which is actually quite a bit and seems a bit unreasonable when thousands of people are selling clothes. I understand that they need to make a profit but this is unfair to the people selling because now they aren’t making much of a profit. Someone from the app replied to my comment, thinking I was confused. I am well aware that you only have 10% taken when it sells, not when it is listed. No confusion here.

Pretty good but a few bugs. I’ve been using depop for around for 3 months now and I’ve already sold a few things. It’s a really easy and great way to de clutter your wardrobe. There are lots of lovely people on the app and generally buying and selling goes pretty easy. However lately, maybe a week or two ago, there’s been soooo many bugs that are making it really hard to use the app. Every time I tap on an item the screen goes white and won’t let me see it, I can’t slide or like or anything, the only options are buy. This keeps happening so I eventually just give up on the item. Another bug is if I’m scrolling through something I’ve searched and I tap on an item, and then get out, it brings me to the very top again and I have to scroll down to find where I left off. This is really annoying as well. Lastly the app just randomly crashes and I have to clear history to get back into it. I’m not doing anything, it’ll just suddenly glitch and kick me out. It’s not my phone either, I just got this iPhone 11 Pro and haven’t been having problems with any other apps.

love depop.. but. I really love the concept of depop, so fun and easy to sell and buy pre-loved clothes, however for an app that takes 10% of every purchase you would think my app wouldn’t crash every day,, It will say my friends accounts aren’t available or I’m unable to see them, when their accounts are still up and running and sometimes I won’t even be able to see or post on my own account, I try to be interactive with my store but when I reload the app and even completely reboot my phone it will still say my account is unavailable, as well as depop just being down for a day? I thought better of the app, you would think such a globally loved app wouldn’t have all of these troubles. However those are the only bad things, I have made so many lovely friends and such a pretty wardrobe I really can’t complain that much, it’s just the bugs are killing me!!! Please fix them because at the end of the day depop is my life!!

User experience suggestion. As a buyer I find Depop pretty good overall. There is definitely room for improvement though as I find it hard to navigate through so many listings. One suggestion that I think would really help is adding a “Liked on this page” tab that groups all your liked items from one seller together. I always try to buy bundles but sometimes it’s overwhelming looking through so many listings and I often can’t find stuff that I’ve already liked. I think this feature would be really beneficial for both buyers but also sellers because it’s a simple way to promote bundling :)

poor communication. As an avid user of various online marketplaces Depop came at first as a great alternative to the existing platforms — until my account was shut down without warning. The algorithm took quite some time to learn my interests and the UX was never perfect, but I persisted over the years as the visual aspects of the app appealed to me. Never managed to sell anything I listed, but I’ve bought quite a few items on there. Hit and miss - similar to other marketplaces. My account was closed suddenly because of the ambiguous ‘no local pick up’ rule that is clearly a commonplace on the site. An AI picked up some keywords in my DM with a seller and my account was closed permanently, then it was a series of automated email responses that led to nowhere. This all happened while there was a pending refund with the seller. Not impressed and joining the many who have rated this app poorly over the years.

Great app! But... This app actually becomes quite addictive. From my personal experience, it did take some time to gather likes, followers, and eventually, requests to buy. I’ve spent almost 2 months posting a few different items weekly, and have managed to rack up a few sales starting from a week ago. So you really have to remain patient with the process while keeping your activity and engagement levels up! However, some seem to master the art of selling quickly. Props to you guys. Also, it is such a great source for new/second hand items! Reducing and reusing will surely leave less of an environmental footprint ♻️ But beware of scammers people!! Be sure to find out every little detail about the item first before buying. The only thing in particular I’ve been having issues with is the in-app lagging and it crashing a couple of times each day. I’ve attempted to figure out what the issue might be and referred to Depop tips on how to fix it but nothing seems to be helping. Anyway great app!!

Great brand exposure, horrible other ways. Started using the app after a friend recommended it to sell my luxury vintage items on. I use to use Etsy when I lived in the UK but was always so much of a hassle establishing your account. Depop was super easy to set up and upload items and set up my account and start selling. Love the feature where you can make a quick video of your item your selling so people can get a bit more of a grasp what your selling but would like 1 or 2 more slots for photos. But now going to the down side, with my items that I sell I don’t do it to make massive profits off my items but when the app takes 10% (even including 10% of shipping costs) it really eats into my profit margin. There should be % brackets in place so I can list some of my items worth up to 1000$ but I don’t really think it’s fair for Depop to take 100$ of that. I would prefer to pay a minuscule amount (eg .20c no matter how much the item is listed for ) when listing the items, this ensures that Depop gets their cut of every item that is listed and this will solve the issue of people listing items they do not intend to sell or just fake accounts.

Disappointing. Similar to what many of the other reviews say, Depop deleted my account for using hashtags. I had been doing so for over 2 years on my account, which had only 5 star reviews, and I had sold 200+ items. I tried to ask them to reconsider as I didn’t know that that was even a rule, and they refused. Somebody just bought an item before my account was deactivated so I had to refund her even though I had the package all ready to go. Really disappointing as I have been a loyal user for years, logging in almost every day, and had a few loyal customers. I think this seems to be a big issue based on other reviews here, you need to understand that people make mistakes and if they genuinely didn’t know that they did something wrong then give them another chance. Now I have to find somewhere else to list 50+ items I had for sale.

Checkout error. I love the app Depop and the concept of it. but lately for me and other people I know the app has been having problems while buying and checking out, i am able to go through the whole process of buying the item until I check out. I will press the check out button to finish my payment and finalise it and then a loading screen will come up and won’t go away, and it’s not just the normal ten second loading screen it stays there until you refresh the page and then when you go back onto the main area there is no receipt or proof that you bought the item and it is still in your cart. even after it says I haven’t bought it there is still the money Taken from my account without buying the item.

Love the app, hate the new scrolling effect. Depop is good and I like to use it and buy all of my clothes from here, BUT something that has annoyed me so much to the point of frustration is that when scrolling through the explore page / search grid view page of items, every time you scroll the “filter | sort” bar goes away, but as soon as you stop scrolling it pops back up! I must be a sook but it’s honestly so annoying. Can the app be changed so that while you’re scrolling down that bar disappears completely, and doesn’t come back unless you scroll up in order to get it? Because once I’ve already filtered and chosen my sort preference, I don’t want to see that bar. Keeps just popping up and distracting me lol It actually stops me from using it

Account suspension. Great app at first but after having my account suspended/ banned not so happy with the experience, Depop fees are quite large and I was not informed my accounted would be banned due to “violation of guidelines” reminds me of TikTok banning peoples accounts. Aswell as this after reaching out to the Depop team to ask for my account to be unsuspended they have not yet replied to my emails and are happy to spam you with them but not reply to a single one. Unhappy with this experience as i was about to sell items before my account was suspended. Just another bad aspect of the app, the fact that people can instantly buy an item without messaging the seller first to confirm, multiple times i have had buyers purchase an item no longer for sale. it is then such a mess to refund the buyer due to the fees both depop and paypal take meaning i lose money after refunding the buyer, and i can’t even delete the listing no longer for sale as i cannot find the delete listing button anywhere on the phone app, later i discovered you have to get the app on your laptop to delete listings. HOW RIDICULOUS! like are you serious, the app isn’t functional and allows both buyers and sellers to be ripped off so easily. HONESTLY SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Love it but could use some tweaks+some suggestions. I use depop all the time, it's mostly pretty good but there are some places it needs work, like with a couple bugs I've noticed (with saved searches not clearing the numbers at all/sometimes things will show up as sold in likes but when refreshed it's not actually sold/items disappearing in search when sorting by new instead of by relevance) Some things I think could definitely make it more user friendly are - Adding a way to get rid of all the sold items from likes/saves lists (my lists are so clogged with saved items it's impossible to sort) - Adding a way to get rid of more than one item at a time from likes/saves lists (it takes SO long to do it one at a time when you have a lot of them) - Adding a counter for likes/saves - Adding a way to filter messages (nobody needs that much spam in their life)

Updated policy :(. Depop was great for me until I started making money and ended up getting my PayPal money on hold. Unfortunately pay pal held up to $780 on hold through Depop purchases made. Made the experience bad as I still have to send the items but don’t even have my money until they (Depop customers) review me in which customers hardly ever review. Now I get a policy update notification saying Dropshipping is going to be Banned. 🤯. Literally unbelievable. Dropshipping is totally fine following certain guidelines! And I think Depop should only allow dropshippers that follow these guidelines to be on the app. E.g having certified suppliers and only listing products in which were tested by the seller with pics by the seller. It’s not only a loss for me and the thousands of dropshippers On here but for DEPOP as they’re going to have a great decrease in money influx coming from us dropshippers who contribute A LOT.

Awesome but a few suggestions!. I love DEPOP for selling all types of items, it’s super easy and straightforward to use. However there’s just three things that could make this app 5 Stars! 1. When you’re listing an item you can’t choose what brand the item is because no options come up to choose from 2. Am option where a seller can pin some items to the top of their page would be awesome, I find myself always editing the listings to try and push them back up to the top 3. Sold items should automatically go down to the bottom of the sellers page so it’s a neater and less confusing experience for the buyer All that said those are just little improvements I think could really make it a professional marketplace

values money over their users. app was easy to use but take a huge chunk out of the money that’s made, 5%? okay i get that but 10% is a lot. suspended my account for something that hasn’t happened yet, tried to dispute it and they said they were not going to let me back on the app because i questioned them on why i was being suspended. i was repeatedly spammed and harassed by some of their users who moved to other social media platforms to do the same but when i reported to depop they basically said it wasn’t a deal and they wouldn’t even give out a WARNING to those people, one of the people ended up getting suspended and banned but was still able to make a whole new account. but i’m not allowed because i made a out of app sale that didn’t even go through lol. theyre money hungry and value money over the wellbeing of their loyal users. disgusting.

Pretty Good App. I’ve bought a lot of stuff here on Depop! It’s easy to navigate, there are lots of friendly people on there, and it’s fairly cheaper then fast fashion ( since a lot of the things are second hand - therefore being cheaper ), so I can save a few bucks :) ! However, I would like to make a suggestion to Depop. When messaging sellers, sellers cannot send photos, or the other way around. Adding photos can reduce the fuss of needing to go to another app and send photos from there. Photos help with commissions, if sellers need more photos on an item etc! Overal Depop is a decent app, would recommend! ( Just look out for suspicious sellers, who may scam you.. )

Delete account. Not my vibe to go searching for clothes, I found when you would search a brand etc heaps of random other brands etc would pop up. I only bought 1 item off Depop and sold 1 item, will be sticking to other apps to sell as they take a large % of the sale fee (I sold my item for like $10 and got stung their % on that and the postage fee) My Depop was also linked to my Facebook and that email had been deactivated years ago and redirected to my new email account. I sent multiple emails to Depop to deactivate my account with all relevant information they need to match my account etc and they still continues to tell me to email from the old email address. I ended up just deleting my active listings and deleted the app instead because it was getting so frustrating having someone different reply every time without reading previous emails.

not working. I just recently bought a pair of shoes off someone and was coming to check wether my order has been delivered or not. I come back and nothing will load on the app. It says it can’t process data at this time. Nothing on my explore page, DNA or even my own account. Nothing is loading. I decided to restart my phone, still nothing and I deleted the app and re downloaded it too. Nothing. I’m really worried because I just recently bought pricey shoes and I want to make sure I can get into reach with the seller and tracking number. Now I can’t do that. Please fix this issue as I can’t even log in now and it states that it can’t be processed at this time. Pls fix this ASAP. I also checked the website and it states that there is an error too. Has the whole app literally crashed? I tried logging in with Apple credentials and with my email. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because I need my tracking number.

Meh wish they had more options as a seller. I have sold alot on depop and nothing urks me more then the fees. They charge 10% fee (including 10% of shipping charge which is lame imo) then they only allow me to accept paypal payment which means i then get charged even more fees. I raised my annoyance about the fee on the postage previously and got a copy and paste response their customer service is so below par so we arent paying for the on going costs of running the app with the customer service. I doubt depop will ever lower the cost of their fees but i have since started listing on other sites such as FB marketplace, instagram & ebay where if fees are charged they are MUCH lower. I know they will leave their standard copy and paste reply on this review about how they have to charge the fees to maintain the app but its just bs. Pocket the extra $$ and sell elsewhere

The update ruined it.. The latest update which has changed how the search results are displayed has completely ruined anyone’s chances of finding the newest posts for things they’re looking for. The old update would allow users to select ‘newly listed’ and show items related posted at that very moment, now the most recent results are from half an hour to an hour ago! How are you supposed to score a good deal? Even when you search for an item very specifically the search decides what ones you’d like and even after using the newly listed feature the newest items aren’t visible. I’ve been using Depop for over a year both as a seller (over 25 sales) and a buyer but this update has made me look elsewhere to sell and buy my clothing as it will for sure effect both my ability to reach buyers and my ability to find the latest posted deals on items. A real shame such a solid, user friendly app has decided to ruin its simplicity.

PLEASE FIX LAGGING. The lagging is unbelievable My cart completely freezes and never lets me checkout it even press items in my cart. Terrible UI experience as well.

Terrible App. The app is constantly having bugs/issues that NEVER get fixed. Also, it’s near impossible to make any money on anything once Depop fees are taken out - unless you WAY overprice things. (But then don’t expect sales.) Put so much effort into my shop for no reward. Don’t waste your time when there are better apps to sell stuff on.

APP WONT STOP FREEZING. can’t scroll for more than two seconds without this app freezing idk what the hell happened but change it

Do not recommend whatsoever. UPDATE: Lol, the developer responded asking again for me to me message them with what happened and the usernames, all of which is detailed below. I can’t stress this enough - DO NOT bother with this app. There is no buyer protection in place and I’m still out money from @allegrashaw. —————— Downloaded this app and made three purchases from three different sellers. Out of those three, two people, Allegra Shaw (@allegrashaw) and Halle Jane S (@hallejanes), both failed to ship the item I purchased and I never received them. Depop’s policy is to defer to PayPal resolution. Allegra said she would refund me and never did, and I had to escalate my case with Halle. PayPal ruled in my favour, then I started received messages from Halle in and outside of the app claiming I needed to return the money I was refunded to her. Halle also proceeded to leave a review claiming I was “scum”. I brought these situations to Depop’s attention and got the complete run around. I sent several detailed messages explaining what happened off the bat, just to be met with a generic answer about “please send us the details and we will look into this for you”. The whole experience on this app was so sour that I’ve deleted it and am leaving this review, which I rarely do for anything. There is no protection in place for buyers and clearly there are sellers on this platform that can go unquestioned. There is no accountability whatsoever. I’ve lost $100 using this app, and wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemy.

Use to be good two years ago.. I started my store on Depop and was making 5K per month right away. They changed the algorithm and business now barely gets $500 per month. I have 1500 items for sale and then I have 500 items for sale. DEPOP, you are pushing people to other platforms. GO BACK TO THE OLD WAY WHEN EDITING A POST WOULD PUT IT BACK INTO PEOPLES FEEDS. IM GIVING DEPOP 2 MORE MONTHS TO WORK FOR ME OR IM GOING SOLO.

Scam. This app is such a scam! The App Store should shut it down since they let scammers get away with stealing people’s money and do not protect the buyers at all. Buyer beware and stay far away.

Glitchy. App is incredibly glitchy and algorithm is garbage nowadays. Wish depop didn’t sell their platform to etsy

Switch to Poshmark!. My experience with depop is that the sellers and customers are so nice on the app but the people who run the app are extremely rude. i’ve never dealt with worse customer service in my life. They repeatedly closed my account because they would read messages on my account of customers asking if they can etransfer for a cheaper discount and though i said no i still got in trouble for it?? The idea behind the app is amazing just wish it was run by better people so i recommend switching to poshmark, they have the nicest customer service if you plan on opening a store.

Worst app ever!. Do not download! There are so many scammers online!

stop changing the feed layouts.. what’s with all the new layout updates. every update gets worse. i really used to love this app and it used to be so simple.

Scam. I’m aware this isn’t a problem with developers but a problem with sellers and policies. I was sent a perfectly sealed empty package, and because of the way all their policies work, there was nothing I could do to get my money back or get the product. I had this happen from seller @moonstorm, and no one could help me get my money back. Because of complications with PayPal and people, it’s not worth the time of someone does scam you, and the policies they say would have me completely protected did not.

Theydeletedmyreview. Depop customer service is trash. Most of the agents don't even take the time to make you understand what the issue is with your account. I got my account suspended in a week being with them, I didn't even know why because they didn't explain nothing to me. I assume that they think my items are fakes and they are certainly not!! If it's not that issue, I don't know what it is seriously. So I don't know what to think about this app! They are coming for the wrong people saying they have replicas and they let real scammers get their way. They need to change how they review the items to know if they are real! Seriously bad experience!! I will not recommand this app to no one !!

Scammers. So far I’ve loved Depop, such good items for thrifting. However, I ordered an item from someone and they neglected to give me the shipping information when I’ve already asked for it twice and the responses are days later with non helpful remarks. Very disappointed because I’m pretty sure I got scammed. Beware of the sellers of this app

App is buggy. For the past few months, the app has been crashing and freezing every time I’m on it for more than 2 minutes. I’ve literally had to speed run browsing for clothes because I know that in a Few seconds, the app will freeze and I’ll have to start all over again :( Fix.This.

Move to Poshmark. I used to like Depop a lot but since they started being unreasonable and removed my listing because of stock pictures when I am posting REAL PICTURES of me and only have one stock picture from the brand so customer can know where I am purchasing from. The fact that they charged more fees than Poshmark, no shipping discount in Canada and all the crazy happening I AM MOVING TO POSHMARK BYE

Be Careful Buying on Depop. Much different experience from Poshmark/eBay. Purchased an item which supposedly had no flaws. Item arrived with multiple holes, stains, pet hair, and smelling of perfume. Per Depop’s rules, I opened a claim with PayPal to get my money back. I fought to have my return shipping paid for, as the item was not as described. I sent the item back. The seller tried only to communicate through Depop’s messaging, and eventually told me I was the rudest person they’d dealt with on Depop. Instead of owning up to their misrepresentation, they took it out on me. They got their item back. I never received an apology. I was made to feel like the guilty party, but they were the one who sent an item in poor condition. Depop did nothing after the seller publicly posted a screenshot of my review and callled me a liar. I have removed my items and deleted the app. Had this been poshmark or eBay, there would have been no trouble returning an item in this condition.

Sucks now. Rich girls are over pricing everything making it impossible to want to use the app. Thrifting is super good for the environment and just fun but the app is ruined because of them.

Lag. For MONTHS this app has been lagging and freezing after 2 minutes of use it’s frustrating as a seller and buyer FIX THE APP this has been happening to too many people for too long

The Best Selling App in The World. Great For Buying Gold Jewellery

delete my review again Depop. More than half of the stuff people sell on this website is overcharged Chinese crap. I sent various images of the fakes with proof they were fake. Depop is more than okay with users selling fake replicas from Alixpress. When contacted the support, I was told that because I have “such a good eye” I should be fine and not be scammed and no action will be taken for the seller. What about users that don’t know what to look for? What about your policy for counterfeits? What about PayPal’s policy for counterfeits? Either your support chat doesn’t know what they’re talking about, or you allow this stuff to happen frequently. Not to mention, these sellers are verified and oftentimes promoted on the explore page and this is the second time y’all have deleted my review.

Unfortunate. This app is riddled with bugs and glitches and seems to get worse and worse every update, keep up the good work dev team!

Disaster. Be Verryyyyyy CARFUL! This is one buy and sell platform that you ABSOLUTLY need to read buyers reviews on their face book.go to Depot’s Facebook and read the reviews before you even download this app I would rate them zero star if I could 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Poor support for Canadians. Love this app but I find Canadian sellers are neglected in depop’s shipping support system. They offer shipping labels for US sellers, but Canadians are left to their own devices, paying absurd amounts to ship. Other apps like vinted or Poshmark offer discounted rates and pre-paid shipping labels, so why can’t depop offer the same?

they’re deleting reviews apparently?. hope this one doesn’t get deleted then. I’m sick of the dropshipping bombarding this app and I’m sick of Depop enabling it. I’ve seen so many people say that it’s turning into Etsy, they have a point. I’ve also reported an account that really obviously dropships and uses aliexpress stock photos and yet.... nothing happened! they’re still allowed to continue scamming people while their customers are none the wiser. :) Fix. Your. Policies. And. Do. Your. Jobs. Please. I’m begging you. your app is becoming practically unusable. we should not be supporting these fast fashion dropshippers that are killing the planet with their cheap, poorly-made, unethical clothing! I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand about that.

super glitchy. app glitches 24/7

Doesn’t work anymore. This app used to be great but unfortunately now whenever I click on an item, when I go back to the search page it takes me back to the top of the page, so I have to scroll all the way down again. Also, the quick access buttons to frequent brands no longer work.

e. a bunch of scamming and drop shopping. clothes are okay but i can’t buy anything since i’m in canada. it’s not really open to international!!

Having some big issues. I really really love this app, so the rating doesn’t do it justice. However I need to express my disappointment that when you look at an item as you’re browsing search results, when you swipe out of the item to keep browsing, it brings you to the top of the search results again! Making you scroll all the way back down every time you look at an item. Extremely annoying and inconvenient.

No Support for International buyers. I’m from Canada, and it’s almost impossible to find local sellers. No one really ships internationally and I waste my time looking through so many items just for them to not ship internationally. Depop, please use a filter for different countries so buyers can save time looking!! Thanks!

Absolutely Gross. My first experience with Depop was getting scammed by a hacker on a hacked account. I was smart enough to use the “Buy” button, and was therefore connected to the REAL seller behind the account, but the scammers roped in a lot of people into paying on a separate PayPal. Depop has done nothing so far about the issue. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Awful. Super awesome idea, but terrible if users decide to scam you. I got scammed and they put me through hoops, and ended up not getting refunded.

GLITCHY!!. SUPER glitchy on IOS 16. Things constantly left loading forever. I can only click on up to four listings before it starts lagging and loading forever, and then giving up and saying somethings wrong. Super super annoying, everything else on my new phone works fine, but I CONSTANTLY close and open and close and open this app to get it to work for 5 minutes at a time. I hate it so much.

The reviews got me out of using this app. I won’t even give this app a chance after reading the negative reviews. Uninstalling now. How unfortunate.

Depop. Love depop but the app is pretty glitchy, especially around the search function

App won’t open. Every time I try to open the app it immediately closes!

NOO. i’ve tried logging in multiple times multiple different ways and it keeps saying error i even tried to create a different one and it still didn’t work

Fix “Brand” tag section for posts. Im using depop in Canada it seems to be a common bug where only Nike and Pheobe English show up as the two brands I can tag for the stuff im selling, yet even when I tag them, it says “something wrong here, please tag up to 2 brands” PLEAS FIX THIS! I can’t post anything and this app has basically become useless

I CANT SCROLL. depop fix your app please i cant scroll for more than 2 seconds and for some reason i cant move anything and i have to restart to use it again. this happens every 20 seconds PLEASE oh my god

I like depop. I’ve started to sell here and I’ve only had positive experiences. I recommend this app :)

Sucks. This app is not in my recommendations. I think it is run by a bunch of teenagers.

Issues with New Algorithm. As a seller who’s been on Depop for 3+ years. Depop saved me when I couldn’t work due to an injury, it gave me a way to make an income within my limitations. My issue - when the algorithm changed from the main feed to “new from your sellers” my sales have gone down significantly. My listings don’t get nearly as much exposure as they used to and now I can’t rely on my Depop sales to accommodate my financial situation. It’s so frustrating as a seller in Canada since we already don’t get nearly as much exposure as other countries on the app :( disappointed

Terrible Experience. I had a horrible experience of an attempted scam from a seller. Long story short I purchased an item, the seller yelled at me for purchasing it without speaking to her. She said she needed extra money for shipping despite listing her item as free shipping and nowhere in her description did she say shipping was extra/to message her. So I asked for my money back, she refused, she demanded I send her extra money for shipping. Depop did absolutely nothing to help me. On top of that they make it extremely difficult to find a way to speak to a representative, you have to dig around for the live chat. Thankfully I purchased through PayPal, and PayPal backed me up. But overall it wasn’t a good experience and it has completely given me a bad impression of depop. Therefore I will never use depop again.

Fix the bugs ASAP!!!. I love Depop but since the newer releases I’ve been having bugs left and right. I’ve had a notification badge on the app for OVER 1 YEAR and there is NO NOTIFICATION that signifies the badge. I’ve refreshed the app and closed it and deleted it and reinstalled it and nothing gets rid of the red notification badge in the top corner. I’m sure there’s other bugs too. Please fix all the bugs including this one. It’s incredibly annoying and hella confusing. Thank you.

Received nothing. I have purchased 2 items from this app and 1 of the people have left the app so I can’t even contact them to see where my item is. It has been 2 months and I am still waiting for 1 little package of rings, this is outrageous! I don’t know how Depop allows these people to continue scamming others.

Fuking sick. Tu peut juste pas avoir plus de style que ça dans un pout de tissu

Zero professionalism. Minors near nude modeling, Non binding offers eating your time, Square photos (8 max), Scarce brand list, coerced “boost” feature necessary or you’re shadowed, Tacky and outdated interface. The list goes on.

warning. app is great, just warning other users out there. i just got scammed for $160 by a girl who said she would sell me 3 brandy melville items. i should have seen the signs because she said she couldn’t send me pics of the items bc they were already in their packages. she wanted me to pay her through paypal and not depop, which i did and since then she has deleted her account meaning she has no intentions of sending me the items i paid $160 for. it’s a great app, so many nice people just watch out for scammers i dont want anyone else to have this happen to them 🥺

Banned for no reason. So unfortunate. I loved depop and someone messaged me using the word “e transfer” and now I’m banned and can’t make a new account! Ridiculous!

Can't filter by country. Unable to filter search results to items from Canada, the only options are USA or "worldwide" which is pretty inconvenient when you want to shop local. I have to scroll through thousands of items to get to the bottom with local items.

Can’t even log in. I reset my password and it won’t let me log in. It logged me out and now won’t let me log back in. I’m gonna cru

Can’t get a refund? Help is ignoring me???. This app is perfect for scammers and my luck I got scammed in the first one. I hate that this is app only, the website is barley functioning and it’s impossible to follow all these things on a phone. I made two purchases right away one from Hawaii I received in a week and a half The other from Texas still has not been shipped over three weeks in. I’ve contacted the seller who said Halloween was a lot for her and then ‘shipped it’. She did not. Radio silence since it’s been a week. Now that’s not the apps fault, what is is that I sent an email for help two weeks ago and never heard anything back through the app and this app is impossible to navigate efficiently I would much rather work on my laptop but I can’t. I can’t leave a review for the scammer untill I receive an item so. I used PayPal but did not make an account as Depop talks a big talk about how secure they are when I reality they will leave you in the dust and that’s only if you buy on depop whatever that is. PayPal doesn’t recognize my email so I literally can’t do anything and no one will help me. Most people in this app are just capitalizing off thrift stores and price gauging used clothes. I love vintage and whatever but it’s not worth this risk. Do not use this app

Meh.. Handy app, I love a lot about it but it is SUPER buggy and unstable. Notifications work but you can’t click on them (otherwise it will give you an error). Be prepared for a lot of app crashes, freezing, and don’t even bother looking at their picks for you. They won’t be in your size, and even if they are the item will have been sold already. No worries though, it will still show it to you. If you tell it to filter your results by size it won’t, at this point I think the app just thinks in terms of smaller than a large or bigger than a large. If you tell it that your size is an XXS or XS it will interpret that as "just not xl" and show you everything L and below. It would be so nice to be able to block brands and pieces with keywords from coming up! That’s just a fun feature it would be nice to have, if I see another Aritzia or Princess Polly "vintage inspired dress" I will lose my mind. Overall it’s okay, just takes a lot of patience. I’ve found myself going back to eBay more and more because it’s cheaper and will show me what I ask for, not just something that kiiiiinnndaaaa works.

The depop team needs to get off their high horse !!. I’ve had depop and actively bought and sold through the app several times from the time they started the app when they weren’t as popular, until about last year when I got into an argument with another seller. My account was suspended and I was honestly so angry with the pretentious nature of the email they sent me in response to my email attempting to explain my situation. I’ve encountered several hostile and verbally abusive sellers and buyers over the years, and I ended up becoming permanently banned for trying to stand up for myself. They say they’re all about supporting small businesses and second hand purchases, and they’ve prevented me from doing just that for LIFE. And after that experience my close friend AND my sister were both banned and received emails addressing them with my name when their accounts had no affiliation with mine, which is extremely suspicious to me. I’ve read about so many people having similar experiences with the depop team, and from what I’ve seen they are notoriously condescending, they do not care and refuse to hear you out. They are so unprofessional and quite frankly, just snobby. Horrible customer service, terrible attitude, unprofessional team, and they do not care about their users.

I had a very bad experience. So last week I was looking for MacBook pro because I start my college classes soon. I wish I had been more considerate knowing that the price for a 2018 MacBook a person was selling was for $220. I thought nothing so I purchased. The seller told me shipping was free, that it would take 24 hours to ship, and just the basic details. However, the next day I noticed the users account was deleted by paypal and they mentioned that he violated some terms. Thankfully, I followed my gut and knew to reach out to pay pal. I disputed my case to a claim right away because I wasn’t going to wait another 30 days for this seller to reach out to me (they never did). It took about 2-3 days for them to figure out my case, and once they issued a refund I got it right away which I was very happy about. Just here to warn others and make sure you check the sellers account before purchasing. I’m honestly not going to use this app anymore considering that buyers get paid before they ship the item. To be honest, I rather depop get ahold of our money first, and then release our money to the seller once they our tracking number is active. Because honestly this just wasted my time, and in the end I never got my item.

Buyer Protection is Not What it Seems!. I have used Depop for awhile and have gotten some great clothing pieces through this app. When the sellers do their job, Depop is fine. However, Depop’s “buyer protection” that they market is complete BS. Depop has no customer service (you can’t even call or email a real person) and doesn’t deal with refunds in app. If you don’t receive an item or a seller ghosts you after payment, you have to go to PayPal and file a dispute yourself in order to get your money back. The only thing Depop does when this happens is send an email with some bullet points on how to do this on PayPal. I bought an item over a month ago and I’ve been trying to get in contact with the seller or get a refund for weeks and it is taking FOREVER to get my money back ($150+). Not only this, but you can’t even review a seller unless you’ve received the item so I can’t even give a review to warn other buyers that this seller is potentially going to ghost them. This means that the whole seller rating system on Depop is skewed. Honestly I used to really like Depop but now I don’t feel comfortable using it. Depop needs to adopt a system like Mercari where the seller doesn’t receive the money until you receive the item.

0/10 HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I never write reviews, but this company has caused me so many hours of stress and headaches that I just felt like this needed to be done. The app itself works fine, but it’s what’s on the service that’s the problem. I paid for my item using PayPal and then months later the seller comes back to me harassing me that I never paid. This seller stalked my social media accounts and harassed me to the point I had to block all contact for my own safety. I had proof of payment but Depop never cared. This seller did not know how to use their paypal correctly and didn’t have their account set up to receive payments. I even offered to send the item back to them as a gesture of good faith but I guess that was not good enough. Yet Depop wanted me to send even more money to them. I am still going through emails with customer service. I have other things going on in my life and do not need to be concerned with a purchase that I made months ago. This would never happen with any other business, coming back months after a purchase demanding more money. Anyways, as soon as this situation I cannot delete my account sooner. So please, save yourself the trouble and say as far away from this app can you possibly can!

really went downhill. ive been on depop for like 4 years now, and ive seen it when no one really knew about it versus now, to its huge audience. there are way too many people reselling thrifted items for 10x their retail price, and so many middle to high class kids selling thrift clothes for 10x the price as well. not only does this defeat the whole purpose of this being a cheap buy/resell app, but it's disheartening seeing so many people capitalize on certain brands and styles to cater exclusively towards those who DO have the money to buy the styles. now, there are still a lot of great sellers on the app who only resell things they actually WORE, but the amount of people who go thrifting simply to resell items makes up such a large percentage of the app that it's hard to even find good sellers on it anymore. with that being said, depop's still a good app for shopping sustainably, and if reselling clothes for that much more helps promote sustainability, then whatever. i use the app a lot less because of this, but i will say the personalized style page is very catered towards my style and i really love that aspect of the app

THIS IS A BUYER REVIEW NOT SELLER. My style is constantly evolving and this app is the best for that. It's v easy to find cheap, CUTE AND HIGH QUALITY CLOTHES/VINTAGE. Every seller I've dealt with on this app is super sweet and generally pretty fast! A lot of negative comments seem to be from sellers feeling this site is unfair with the way they charge an extra fee to seller and don't seem versatile with explore page. Buyer negative comments are mostly people who don't seem to understand how busy some of these sellers are or don't message the seller asking about a product before buying which definitely isn't too smart. I feel like you have to check someone's profile out before buying just to ensure if they are active/have good reviews which is not hard to do. also make sure you check the quality of the photos and that they have multiple of one piece, because sometimes things can look different online than in person . Besides that I love depop and haven't had a single bad experience, and that's coming from someone who has purchased over 30 items y'all!! 🎉💖🌟✨

Unresolved Issues. I have never left a review for any apps but when trying to reach someone regarding my app I never get responses back. About two years ago I was flagged for “selling used makeup” when I’ve never listed anything except shoes and clothes and received a rude message pretty much telling me I was lying? I dropped it because when I told them to take the flag down they ghosted me. Now I’m unable to sell anything- the app freezes whenever I try and press the middle button on the bottom of the screen and I thought they restricted me but I contacted support and it’s a bug. They asked for proof even though my explanation was thorough enough since you can’t really show an app freezing because it looks like you’re just sitting on one screen so I sent a screen recording being able to go through the app and then of nothing happening on the app after pressing the icon and not being able to press anything else like they asked “before being able to correctly resolve the issue”. No response. Otherwise, they take too much of a fee when selling- everyone who’s a seller has no choice but to mark up to sell at least market value it’s a lose lose situation for both the seller and buyer.

PLEASE fix damage done by this new update. I have been a seller since 2019. My shop recently has been wonderfully. However, this new update that came out 5 days ago has ruined my ability to edit listings or upload new items properly. When I try to edit a listing, I get an error message that says something like “Oops! Try again!”. I try again and again and I cannot edit a listing. I have emailed Depop twice and have just been told to update my app both times. I have cleared my cache and nothing. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded the app and still, nope. I’ve noticed the app is only usable between 10:30 pm-10:30 am for me. I’m not sure why but I’ve let you guys know and nothing is being done. 5 days of horrible experiences for sellers should be enough for you guys to fix the issue. Get better seller support and PLEASE fix this bug, otherwise I cannot even sell on this app, meaning Depop itself is losing out on our seller fees. I have also been reading other seller reviews and you’re just copying and pasting responses. If you tell me to “clear my cache” or email you, that will confirm my theory. Instead, fix the problem you guys created and maybe I will fix my review.

Ok. I think there should be a feature where you can hold your thumb on an item for a moment to select the option to no longer see that item or similar items suggested for you. There are some items that repeatedly come up that I don’t want to see for one reason or another, but don’t necessarily want to block the seller from my profile. Perhaps it would help the algorithm to show you more of what you want and less of what you don’t want, leading to more sales. This would be incredibly helpful. Also, when you sell something and ship it,why don’t you give the option to “mark as shipped” ??? To the buyer it makes it look like I haven’t shipped the item even though I have and sent them the tracking number….. it makes it confusing. It also makes it appear that I take way longer to ship than I actually do. For example, my profile says “usually ships in 7 days” and I have literally never taken 7 days to ship an item. I don’t even know how depop figured that number. At most it’s 3 days. Making me look bad smh. Please fix these things!!!!!!

Needs work. So far I have made a few purchases on this app, since I can compare with several other platforms for buy/sell, this one by far needs the most work. To negotiate in price so that someone else doesn’t buy it from underneath you once the price is changed has been incredibly frustrating. I was literally in the middle of a transaction with a girl, she changed the price and I asked her to put a hold on the item, she said she would, then turned around and let somebody else buy it. There are a few people who seem to try to give good customer service, most totally flake out and communication can be excruciating, especially once you have bought their item. Now I’m in the process of going through a claim with PayPal as the seller just didn’t get back to me after purchasing a pair of expensive pants. **Update, after weeks and weeks I finally got my money back from PayPal, yet another purchase I thought a return was complete and after several months of slow communication, finally got my money back for that sweatshirt. I tried another purchase as I considered that it just may have been a little bad luck, it’s going on three weeks too get my order, still waiting....slow communication and follow through. I love the concept of resale platforms, but there needs to be some rules in place so that this isn’t a total time drain for people wanting a quick and simple transaction.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. Ok, I NEVER do reviews, but felt the need to do one about Depop. Initially, I fell in love with the app bc of the aesthetic and how much time and effort some people put into taking nice pictures. But I decided to start selling, bc being a college student, I definitely need the extra money. Well, I'll keep it nice and short. THEY TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT RANDOMLY WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. I got an email saying $8 was taken from my account randomly!! Not even part of the percentage they take from you after a sale, it was just so random! If you email them for help they WILL NOT answer!!!! Also, they need a "retweet" button to get your listings out there again, instead of going to edit and posting your listing again, Whenever i use poshmark they answer their emails in less than 24 hours and always help!! Never a problem on there. Depop is probably the most confusing app I've ever used. They should stop using Paypal, and use bank accounts instead, and focus on the customers rather than the whole aesthetic. There are TOO many fees (depop fee, paypal fee, and just random money they decided to take out) Anyways, I will continue to buy on there, ONLY bc they have good finds! But be very careful!! As for selling...idk they just need to change a lot.

Increased Fees, More Ways to Screw Sellers. Making a selling app without offers, probably not a smart idea. How does Depop fix this? First, cut out the middleman (ala Depop payments) so they can pocket more money…does Depop extend their savings to the sellers? Of course not, that’s crazy talk! Next course of action for Depop? Increase fees even further (now between 15%-18%) so they can double dip off the backs of sellers and (GET THIS!) include an offer option that lets buyers make offers and then have no repercussions when they decide not to pay. Great! Thank you Depop! And what does the infamous Depop customer service say when you report no payers? Well, it’s NOT AGAINST THIER TERMS, of course! Oh, but if the seller wants to, they can further inconvenience themselves and block the buyer. Great! How seller friendly! I truly enjoy blocking 20 buyers a month since the offer feature has rolled out, it’s so convenient! I LOVE doing Depop’s work for them. I HIGHLY recommend selling elsewhere, even Postmark’s 20% fees is preferable to this nonsense. Grailed is better. Heck, even eBay’s over saturated wasteland makes Depop look like something Bob and Jim eked out on a Monday morning, mid hangover, before lunch. Useless app that gets more useless by the day, any other platform short of Craigslist holds buyers accountable, Depop just pockets more fees. 1 STAR

It’s alright. I mean Depop is a good app to buy or to sell its very straight forward but man, I advise any seller joining this app to only use Paypal and not their “Depop payment” feature. It honestly has been the worst, I understand it takes time to receive money directly into your bank account but man Depop takes a little too long for this to happen. It’s fine I mean I get to be patient and I wouldn’t be complaining because I’ve accepted the feature and it is okay but it gets annoying when they will send you a notification saying, “you should receive the payment today” and then not receive the payment (As of now, I still haven’t received my payment and it’s been two days since they have sent me that notification). The feature is okay if you’re not in a struggling with money. A lot of college students use Depop to make money and to have enough money for rent/bills and if you are one of those people struggling please do not use the feature, my bank account is now in negative because of bills being charged to my account and I have no money (because of this Depop feature) to help take it out until Depop finally decides to deposit it in my account. Thanks Depop! (not) - From a struggling 18 year old who just graduated and barely has time to work

Great. The app overall is wonderful! especially for those just trying to get rid of clothes they don’t wear anymore, but for those trying to build a brand / business, it’s a little difficult. I’ve been using the app for months now and this is MY PERSONAL case. I eventually want to start my own brand so months ago I found the app to be a great platform to do so. They used to feature such a variety of people. Now they don’t so much, I don’t want to say they pick favorites, but it’s the same people time and time again being featured. I have been lucky to be featured a handful of time, but every time I do my feature is always at the bottom bottom and I feel like that puts me at a disadvantage. Sometimes I can’t even find myself on the explore page even though I’m featured. The percentage they take is REALLY FAIR considering all the other apps I’ve tried using, take an outrageous percentage, so you definitely can make some cash. There’s a lot they can improvement on, but they’re definitely on top of their game & personally I think the best app to sell in right now.

Used To Love Depop but not anymore. I used to love depop but I don’t love it anymore. Before Etsy bought depop and changed the depop algorithm I used to get good engagement on my depop now I get a 1-4 likes on my post a day. 4 likes in a day if the algorithm is feeling generous. Today I only got one like on one item??? When I used to get multiple likes on multiple items in a day!! And my likes used to be up in the 20s and up within a week or 2. Now that Etsy has taken over the most likes I got on a post is 10 …. in 2 weeks?? I used to get messages about items a few times in a week or two after Etsy changed the algorithm I get 1 message for a item in 2 weeks?? I also used to make sales quickly maybe like one or 2 in a week which was great for me. With the new algorithm I haven’t made a sale in 2 weeks!!!!?!? Was planning on making depop my full time job when the app was good but it doesn’t look like I will be doing that anymore because of the new algorithm. I’m even considering ditching depop as a whole and using other resale apps to sale clothes on because depop is dead now. Super disappointed to see a app I used to love totally change into something I don’t want to put any effort into anymore kinda feels like depop switched up on their sellers to me. 😡

My favorite app now!. Alright, so i had just gotten a job, and was wanting to buy clothes because it’s the first time I’ve had money, but a lot of the stores I was looking at were just were too expensive, sketchy, or didn’t have what I wanted. Then I got Depop, and it was great! The clothes are affordable because they are resold, I usually don’t have to worry about my item showing up and not looking like the image, because the sellers are people just like me, and not some big company. Also there’s such a large variety and amount of sellers that I can usually find what I want. The only problem I think is that there are not a lot of plus size clothes, although that’s not exactly the app’s fault, I guess there are just less sellers in that part of sizing. Overall though I really like the app, it’s affordable, easy, not sketchy, and the layout is really simple (it’s similar to Instagram). I’ve recommended this app to a few people cuz I really like it. Thanks!

So many issues. Really the only good thing about depop is the fact that it makes me money. Pretty much every other aspect is lacking. The app is extremely buggy, takes forever to load listings— which turns listing items or editing listing into a 20 minute process when it should be no more than 3 minutes— and notifications will take you to a webpage instead of directly to the app. Not to mention the incredibly annoying issues I’ve been having with depop payments where they straight up won’t send me my money. Every day it says my payout will come on the next day, then when I check on that day it’s moved to the next. It’s been like this for over a week now which is just ridiculous. I’ve tried everything I possibly can to fix it, but nothing works. And conveniently, depop has no customer service number so I just have to suffer in silence. I don’t understand why depop would get rid of paypal if it was going to make its payment system so ridiculously glitchy. There are better selling apps out there and I would recommend you look into them before jumping on depop.

What’s going on Depop?. This used to be my favorite selling app. I just felt it is where my niche fit best. Lately my sales have decreased so dramatically, I haven’t been featured on the explore page but once in 4 months? Over the course of the last few months I’ve spent my energy listing elsewhere! I don’t know what changes were made but the smaller and newer sellers don’t stand a chance, regardless of how good their merch is. You just don’t see us because you’re constantly putting the same shops featured on the explore page. I hate how the items featured are from just about whenever, I’ve seen items featured that were listed a year ago, and that were SOLD! is it some kind of bot you people are using to choose? It’s so discouraging I’ve contemplated just saying F it and giving up on depop and shutting it down. Too much work for nothing. I’m strictly a seller and have had no issues with my customers so I can’t comment on your customer service. If things Don’t change it’s time to move on from What was once my fave app!

SELLERS BEWARE!! HORRIBLE SELLER PROTECTION!!. I started using depop and really liked it to start. Like many other selling apps such as Mercari and Poshmark they offer shipping labels through their discounted shipping program set up with SHIPPO but UNLIKE other apps they don’t provide any help whatsoever when a shipment goes missing and you cannot file a claim on their shipping account. I lost $30 on an item that was lost because they refused to file a claim or do anything to help. On top of this I had to refund the customer (no problem when protected) $30 so one item cost me $60 in losses due to their crappy customer service and absolutely clueless seller support. I do not recommend this app to sellers who expect any seller protections because they are nonexistent!! I used this apps labels in good faith that they would provide the necessary help if an item got lost but they DID NOTHING to help beyond calling me a liar over and over. It’s a shame because the app has promise as an app but as a company they are beyond unbusinesslike and I cannot send a warning loud enough to sellers who are used to feeling safe selling to NOT TO USE THIS APP!!

Decent App, Just a Few Things. I’ve been on Depop for a few years now and there have been massive improvements over the years since I first joined. However, lately I’ve been running into this bug where I’ll be scrolling through my “Suggested For You” section for about five minutes and all of a sudden the app will freeze. I have to force close it or it’ll close on its own when it times out. I also think Depop should do better on catergorizing its sizes. While it’s not entirely Depop’s system, it is annoying having to try and comb through item descriptions to eyeball the size of the actual clothes when the sizing can be confusing for people and users list an inaccurate size. I also think Depop should fix their “Suggested For You” section algorithm. I have my size preferences already inputted in my account, yet I still get clothes listed in a completely different size (e.g. an item listed as a “XS” will show up when I’m a “3X” or “20-22”). I love Depop and I wanna keep using it; hopefully, Depop is able to resolve these issues and take these suggestions into consideration.

Long time seller and I have several suggestions. 1. The new “offer section is not fair to the buyer and lacks the opportunity for communication that the old way, simply messaging buyers, had. I Depop needs to add a co”counteroffer option for the buyer. Poshmark and other sales sites have a “counteroffer option. 2. Before Instagram purchased Depop, the British company used to personally choose super cool vintage items and “feature” them based on style trends. Now, it seems like there are so many more people posting crap that has NO value on this website. And they are showing up more than true vintage and valuable itemI’m not referring to cool streetwise or other trends, but just plain crap. For example, because I source true vintage , outdoor gear and mostly items of value, was being featured almost once a month and sometimes twice some weeks. It not only was great exposure, but also created a great “face for the Depo app. Honestly, I used to sell 5-10 items a week until Instagram took ove and now, I am lucky to sell 1-2 items a week and receive tons of lowball offers. That never used to happen. I Don understand why you don’t understand that when buyers sell items for more money, Depop/Instagram also makes more money. It’s not just about how many sales, but how much the sales are for. Please contact me via email if you’d like to discuss this further… Honestly, I have been dealing more with local shops and am considering my own sales space …

Shipping label. Hello I’m new to selling on Depop but I sell on all other app platforms. I originally left a one start rating because I didn’t understand the shipping fees. I was quickly emailed back and the nice representative explained it all to me! I really appreciated that! That means they care about me as a seller on this app! I love how I can list multiple sizes of the same items. I like how I can post a 30 second video of my products. It seems to be a nice platform as far as their customer service and technology. I give them five stars! The down side is no one is buying anything I’ve only had two sells. People ghost you after they make an offer and you accept, or the buyers try to low ball you. It’s so annoying how they only like your items but never buy anything! I even thought I was Shadow banned because no one is buying anything. I sell out of my products on the other apps. It’s really sad because I love the app it just needs real customers.

super buggy and the absolute worst customer service. i like depop for its selection. The customer service is really bad, probably some of the worst ive experienced. They don’t care about protecting purchasing despite their policy and don’t respond to any issues. Sellers constantly mislabel clothing as popular brands for “exposure” and it makes it really difficult to search for specific brands. There’s also so much price gouging, scammers, and drop-shipping on here. Depop doesn’t seem to do much about these issues but will happily ban people for random stuff. I got banned with no warning because a seller accidentally refunded me (which I had no knowledge of). Customer service even admitted it was fully not my fault. Then lied to me about reaching out and letting me know about the issue but when I searched very hard for it, I couldn’t find it. When I asked for proof of the email, they just ignored me. Despite all this I have still used the app. But recently its nearly impossible to shop on the app because it freezes up and i have to close and re open the app. The app already sucked before, but it was still usable. Now its doesn’t even work and the update didn’t fix it. Sounds like a lot of other people are having this issue too based on reviews.

Concerning problem, needs to be fixed. For months now, opening the app and using it causes my phone to over heat and become hot. It even drains my battery super fast while using it too. I have an iPhone 13 Pro with the most recent iOS update (16.5.1) so I know it’s not a problem on my end. No other app on my phone has this issue except for Depop (including all other shopping apps). It’s concerning that while just scrolling through items trying to shop I have to worry about if my phone is overheating and possibly taking damage from it. It only takes about 15-25 minutes for the temperature of my phone to start rising and become hot in my hands. I then just close the app completely and have to wait for my phone to cool down. This issue even keeps me from wanting to open the app at all but I have items listed that I have to check on. I am no app developer or anything of the sort, but I feel this issue stems from something in the app’s programming/code. Something with this app is overworking my phone’s CPU. With every app update, it has still not been fixed. This was something that was not an issue before until more than several months ago. I’m not sure if I’m the only one experiencing this issue. Please developers look into this.

terrible treatment towards sellers.. there’s been a recent uptick in people’s listings getting falsely taken down for false claims of their images being stock photos, and the same goes for any other image being used that isn’t an unedited picture taken by the user in question. this is an issue because of not only how many people pay extra for editing software to edit their clothes to be in front of some kind of digital background, but also the amount of non-selling posts that are integral to the depop experience. things like “ISO” posts that are made as hunting ads to find desired clothes and items often use other people’s images to show what they’re looking for. people also will often take images off the internet and post them so that they can put important shop information in the captions of their post. this is already bad, but gets worse when you factor in how there’s usually no option for recovery of taken down posts, which can get removed dozens at a time. this can break someone’s main source of income if they rely on depop as a job. depop needs to focus more on keeping the people that make their money happy than cracking down on nonexistent crimes.

Customer service needs to be improved. I really like this app and the aesthetics it involves but I’ve recently been having a lot of problems with my account and I’ve seen reviews from others all concerned with the same thing. The process of customer service is so long and frustrating. It takes forever to get a hold of someone and for the problem to maybe get fixed. I just wish I could talk to someone on the phone or email someone that was actually concerned with my problem and was one on one with me. I’ve recently been locked out of my account and i had to wait 2 days just for multiple ppl to tell me that they detached my number so I could make another account instead. I tried to sign up for another one today with my number and it wouldn’t let me.. so my problem has still not been fixed and I don’t know what to do. All I wanna do it log in and buy a cheap wig 😭. Anyways thanks for listening to my TED talk and I really hope y’all can do something to fix this. Thanks~

Needs ALOT of work. I sold for about 2-3 months, my store was going up and up everyday with more sales, more clients, purchases, offers. It was perfect. No issues with clients at all. I woke up and apparently my account was suspended. Why? I have no idea. They told me that they should've sent me an email explaining the reason, but I didn't receive anything. I had $2,000+ on pending, all items where shipped and probably even close to being delivered. Customers were raising issues (which I understand, since my account was suspended, I'm guessing they thought I was making fraud), so I tried contacting Depop, but as time passed, they kept releasing the refunds to buyers and I kept loosing money and items, since they were alreadh shipped. I am still receiving refunds and emails from Depop, but they won't resolve my issue, I'm technically losing money, items and time. It's a complete loss with Depop! I recommend for sellers to not sell on this app. Since they don't let you contact buyers to resolve issues when you're suspended. It makes it harder to get your items back even if you already shipped them! Totally needs alot of work with contacting people and should let buyers/sellers try to resolve the problem EVEN AFTER getting suspended! It's incredible how this app gave a big turn.

My fav buy-sell app. The first thing I want to say is thank you ... I opened my store here during the pandemic, and it has been a lifesaver .. because it started as an extra income it has become almost my only income .. I am working hard to make it become a My main source of income, and I know that I can achieve it .. I would like to add that I really like the platform as it is .. I know that some things will gradually change, improving others according to their criteria, but my thinking is that when something does not It is broken, there is no reason to fix it .. considering this I want to ask you to please never / never / never add a button or option to "make offers" like many other sales platforms .. and that's all .. I could explain why Do not place that button, but if you have not done it, it is because you already know it .. please keep it that way .. do not give the option to share the closet of others .. that seems stupid and enslaving to me .. thanks DEPOP I owe you a! you are my perfect partner

Glitchy and it’s a problem. Lemme start off with the fact that I love depop! I love selling my clothes on there and I’ve tried other apps, depop by far is the best, safest, and easiest. However there is SO many glitches. When I first started I had to make a new account because the shipping labels wouldn’t form. My new account is perfect now and I don’t have that problem however my latest depop issue is that every 10 seconds the app glitches out and crashes. Literally every 10 seconds, I’ve written emails to depop and have they gotten back? Nope. I’ve written reported about other sellers to depop and they’ve gotten back to those so it’s like I guess I’m being ghosted by customer service??? I have to sit down and delete the app and then redownload it EVERYDAY just to get rid of that problem. I sell a lot of stuff everyday so it’s very irritating. Another thing me and others have seen is that when someone buys your listing and the notification pops up and you click on it, it says item not found. Problems like this are normal for depop and I truly believe they should fire whoever is in charge of tech because they’re doing awful. But besides from the tech problems, Depop is a great place to sell!!!!!

such a scam. I’ve been using Depop for several months now, and most of my experiences have been very good! However, working with their support team is awful. They patronize you and ignore your emails, and the two major issues I’ve had have been with giant accounts that Depop doesn’t seem to regulate at all. Depop’s system seems to punish the small accounts and reward the large ones. They do this in their explore page, where they’ll just feature the same big accounts over and over again (I’ve never once been chosen for it, due to the small size of my account), and in their feedback system, where I was punished for leaving a 2-star review (which was not rude in any way) because it was going to damage the reputation of a big account with over 4 times as many followers as me. Not to mention, Depop also keeps a record of everything you’ve ever posted (even if it’s deleted) and they look through your private messages. This app is pretty amazing but the people who run it make me sick. EDIT: they also have practically no recourse for scammers, an item I purchased in 2017 was never shipped and they did absolutely nothing to help. They wouldn't even contact the scammer. I’m literally done with this app catch me on Mercari

Janky Scammers. Sold a few it items here on Depop; they have taken more than they have should out my bank account.I have multiple disputes with them. I watch my bank account and money everyday day and I add up everything and read carefully! My items are listed as customer will pay for their own shipping Depop still deducted out my account not to forget, that I ended up paying for; customers sales taxes also when it clearly says customer paid $1.06 but when is added their amount are being take. Out my account pay close attention guys to your money the smaller the amount is taking out “accidentally” too millions of people who don’t notice this now add that up y’all. There’s no real customer service humans to talk too just a internet complaint board. Like they’ll every get to read it who knows maybe. I am not going to be Selling in here anymore $7 back on a $15 sales that way too much tax go to OFFERUP guys I’m telling you never had a problem gray sellers taxes and buyers tax oh yeah PayPal took care of my situation

READ THIS BEFORE SELLING!. The concept of this app is great. Super easy to navigate, great UX design, a great platform in general—especially for gen Z users. My only issues are the FEES. For example, I just made a sale for a top for $14. There was a $5.68 charge (i’m guessing for the shipping label) and then an additional $1.90 fee. Although it might not seem like a lot at first glance, If you do the math and subtract $14-$5.68-$1.90 you’ll see that I was only left with around $6 in profit (which is less than half the total cost of the top). I’ve sold about 40 items on the app so far (around $10-$15 per item) and should have made around $450 in profit not including fees. I added up all the fees that I paid to Depop and realize I paid them over $200 in fees. That means instead of my $450 profit I only made around $250 profit for selling 40 items which is practically nothing. It seems like this app is great if you just want to get rid of stuff and make a little extra change (emphasis on CHANGE) but if you actually want to sell items for reasonable profit you might feel a bit ripped off. The platform idea is great but realizing how much money I have lost using this app is extremely disheartening. If the fees were reasonable I would have given this app 5 stars easily.

Platform Supports Scammers. DePop claims to be a community market place but is simply a clearing house for scammers. Every item you place you will be inundated with requests to send more photos and take conversations to IG or other chat platforms for ease of sharing photos, this voids TOS and your sale will not be protected. There are people using DePop letterhead and impersonating DePop employees once your purchase goes through, then once product delivers they then request more funds to release the original sale amount. DePop claims zero ownership aside their cream off the top and if you had any other options than using this platform to sell your items I would jump at the chance. DePop if you do a quick search will not protect either the buyer nor seller if fakes are passed P2P. As long as the item is say a “brown purse” that brown purse could be worth $15 or $1500 DePop only wants their cut and could care less about the victims. I have never dealt with a worse CS team in all my years on this planet. They are impossible to get ahold of, bounce from person to person and their messaging is basically we got ours pound sand. Again run, don’t walk from this app. You will eventually be conned, not an if, a when it happens.

Can only post so many photos. I do like this app but i feel like they could upgrade on a few things like the limit of photos and sending offers. I do like this app but I don’t think it’s better than Ebay when it comes to selling. Ebay makes it easier to see if someone is actually interested in your item and you can send all of them offers at the same time without having to contact them. The buyer can send counteroffer, accept, or decline and makes it so much easier. Also, Ebay allows up to 12 photos! It’s hard stuffing everything on depop because i try to show everything i can! Tags (front, middle, and back!), front and back of the item, and also possibly can damage or flaws. 4 photos is not enough and gives me a hard time. Now this may be debatable but I think a promotion for your item would be great, like how ebay does it. I spend most of my time seriously on Ebay since I like it more with the things they offer! Depop is a great place to reach a younger audience but this is a backup for me mainly and only because it’s a harder and more stressful app to be on.

Becoming a greedy company. I have been selling on depop for about 5 years now and all these updates are making it impossible to sell and make any profit anymore. To begin with, I have a fairly popular shop and every time I listed a new item in the past I would get so many likes in only a few minutes I used to total up to thousands of likes on my items and sell within days I even got featured on the old hot items event depop would do to highlight sellers. HOWEVER now with their new update they intentionally dont show your items as widespread anymore, I only get up to 10 likes if Im lucky and havent sold anything in months but depop offers their greedy little “boosting” option for sellers to get more views on an item hence making it more likely to sell BUT depop gets an extra fee from your payout for boosting the listing if someone buys it. Another thing they have done was getting rid of the ability for sellers to allow buyers to bundle for free shipping without any added fees. NOW there are fees depop takes away from you based on the number of items in a bundle which is bull. If this keeps up I will definitely start selling on another platform because depop is NOT what it used to be anymore.

So disappointed. I have been selling on Depop for over a year and I had NEVER had an issue. I sold an item and the buyer filed a dispute against me claiming I sold her something that was not what I posted (a complete lie). My item was in perfect condition she just did NOT READ YHE DESCRIPTION ON THE POST. Depop took the money out of my account and refunded her. I did not read the emails they sent because I was on a trip (that was my fault) I suggest Depop sends sms messages to the sellers when it comes to disputes rather than emails because we receive a lot of emails daily. I received my item back BROKEN. I contacted Depop and provided proof of the damage and they responded a WEEK LATER. Stating the that the buyer had reported the damage and for that they refunded her. SHE BROKE MY ITEM and Depop claims that I should be more accurate about my times when I sell. Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and the buyer. Now I can’t even resell my item because it’s already damaged. Why would I sell a broken item when I know they will file a dispute against me and make me lose money? Kind of stupid if you ask me. Depop has regulations that protect buyers but not sellers? I will be taking my business elsewhere to an app that knows how to treat sellers better.

Terrible customer service. If I could give this app a 0, I would just based on their customer service. I have created several accounts by accident over the past 5-10 years because I don’t use the app regularly. When trying to access ANY ONE of my accounts, I got responses from at least 15 different reps in one chain. They would ask for information I’ve already provided and also ask for information I’ve said I cannot provide. In the end, I asked them to just close all the accounts associated with my phone number since I’m clearly unable to access them. They were unable to even do that. They use Zendesk and having experience with zendesk, I know you physically have to assign the ticket to another rep so the fact that I was passed along so much shows whatever system of passing tickets they’re operating on is dysfunctional. An absolute waste of time - stick to Poshmark or even eBay! Update: the response is just as generic as all your reps and didn’t even actually address my problem. I see reviews from 2+ years ago complaining of the same thing and somehow I’m still having this issue. You guys are the worst!! Poshmark is far superior!!!!

Terrible app, scammy company. I have never written an app review but Depop is so terrible I couldn’t help it. They keep updating it only for it to get progressively worse and worse. You literally cannot browse the app for more than 2 minutes without it freezing (and usually crashing). Not sure how a company worth millions can’t manage to make a functional app, you’d think they’d want people to use it. And that’s just technical issues, not even mentioning how terrible this company is to it’s sellers. Fees are ridiculous and now there are EXTRA fees thanks to Depop payments. Shipping costs are outrageous!! And i understand they don’t set those but a company this big could EASILY afford to cover some shipping costs, at least for their very active sellers. Not even worth it to sell on this platform anymore, I’m trying to clear out inventory so I can be done with this hellscape. Doesn’t help that there’s a ridiculous number of scammers and soulless sellers trying to market $.50 thrifted tees for $45. They encourage inflated prices and draining local thrift stores of every decent item which hurts people in need. After using this app I just feel disgusted to be apart of it, I don’t at all want to be associated with Depop or the “top sellers” that profit off of it

GARBAGE!!!. This app is literally horrible for selling. I sold two items and delivered them on here over month ago and my funds are on “hold”. They told me to wait 21 days for my funds to be released but it’s been over 21 days and I have received nothing not only that depop has tried to take 20$ from my account out of no where and whenever I send an email about why I am being charged they don’t respond or it’s some stupid automated message that doesn’t answer my question there is no call number or anything only an email that I get no response from. I’ve used other sites like Poshmark and the process was SOOO much easier and I was paid for the merchandise and for depop to be much more popular I would have expected so much more but the whole process of selling with this website was so stressful and I most definetly would never recommend it. If your a buyer it is better I’ve ordered shoes from here and it was easy but for selling it’s trash.

Pathetic.

You guys are horrible. I was banned from depop for calling out a user who was charging ridiculous amounts of money for rings she bought for 1/20 of the price (romping rhombus) she literally responded saying ‘have fun getting banned’ and got me wiped off the app. I made new accounts and continued to sell clothing with great reviews and no issues, but they kept getting deleted. The last time it got deleted, I was first just unable to log into my account and didn’t realize I got an ORDER. Someone had been waiting a month for a product that never came and I never knew because I was locked out of my account and getting 0 notifications. When I asked them for help they of course banned me again and then wound up banning my ip address. I am going to college next year and will be paying for most of my tuition. I needed that money and followed the rules to par following that altercation with that scamming user that depop did NOTHING about because they were verified. I think their customer service loves making peoples lives miserable. They don’t even look into situations, just kneel down for any verified user. So ready for that automated response from depop telling me to email them! I’ve emailed you 50 times trying to appeal my suspension and I get the same response everytime. You’re all awful.

Total Waste of Time and Money. I have a lot of problems with this app and the way it is run... Firstly, I have ordered so many items on Depop that just never came. I gave it a chance multiple times, and I have wasted a good amount of money buying accessories and stickers that never arrived at my door. Since Depop customer service wasn’t at all helpful with this, the store owners had to just give me store credit. The problem is that I didn’t end up using that store credit because I didn’t want anything else; I wanted the items I had ordered. So essentially I never got my money back for the packages that never came. This has happened so many times that I am done purchasing anything on this app, not wanting to spend money on something I’ll never get. It really makes it look like a scam, the fact that this kept happening. Secondly, customer service is pretty awful. NEWS FLASH DEPOP - deleting and reinstalling the app is not a universal fix for all problems. You need to look into your consumers complaints and problems and figure out how to fix them, instead of giving a half assed assessment of what could have caused the problem. Be very careful, consumers and sellers - you could easily lose money unnecessarily on this app.

THE WORST OF THE WORST. I’ve never bought anything from a peer to peer online service before. But I had heard a lot about depop and I wanted to look for some secondhand designer shoes. After a long search I found some I found a seller who I was able to make a good deal with. I made the purchase through PayPal so I could be covered by the protection policy. After a long and tedious process with the shipment (where I was forced to pay extra because they were being held at customs) I finally received my shoes and they were nothing like what I was paying for. First and foremost they were a COUNTERFIT!!! I was in shock I immediately got in touch with the seller but he denied that they were a counterfeit and pretended like he did not understand what the problem was. He said he was just reselling the shoes and that the came from a store that was legit. Even if I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he did not know they were counterfeit he still did not sell me the shoes as he advertised them. He had assured me that the shoes would come in a size 11 in the original shoebox, and with the receipt. I didn’t get any of those things. He just threw them in a plastic bag and shipped them off. And they weren’t even in my size?! So all around horrible experience! I already reported him on the Depop app but didn’t get a response.

Depop payments don’t arrive for 10 days. After selling your first item it’s clear that you won’t receive your payment for 10 business as a first time seller. But they do not specify how many sells you have to make before being able to receive your payments faster (1-2 days). I was fooled thinking that after my FIRST sale I wouldn’t have to wait for so long. The shipments arrive to the customer in 1-3 days and you’re holding my money why???!! It is not worth applying free shipping to any of my orders at this point. I’m on depop to make extra cash because I need the money and you mean to tell me that I have to worry about taking money out of my pocket ($15 at most) to send out an order that I won’t get paid for, for another 10 days?!!! Keep that 20-38 bucks that I needed -___-. On top of that y’all are taking so much money off of what I’ve priced my items already. NOT WORTH IT WHATSOEVER. I’m so upset. This app is so disorganized. Also what’s the deal with the gendering. It’s 2022 and unisex is absolutely nowhere to be found?!!! Get pride off of your app if you have no plans on doing anything for LGBTQ+ folks. I had my hopes way up for this app. So much potential lost here. If I could give this app 0 starts I would but y’all got lucky with the one.

Please fix this!. Like many of us, I love Depop! Unfortunately there are some flaws on this app. The first flaw I encountered was signing up! When I typed my number in so that I could make an account, it stated that there was an error. I also signed into my Facebook and Apple account, only for Depop to say that there was an error that I don’t understand. I honestly was frustrated because I made an account a while ago but did not remember the password so I typed my email into it so I could reset my password but after waiting for days, an email was never sent to my email that I’ve been using for years! I was so upset (and still am). My solution was to sign up a new account on my laptop because that was the only way for me. I used my relatives number instead of mine since it did not work and I created a new account! I was so excited! 🥰 The next flaw that I really hate is when the app freezes. For example, I search ‘crop tops’ and as I’m scrolling, the screen will freeze and it pushes me to the search bar which is clear! Therefore, I have to scroll all the way to find where I left off! I really hope you guys fix these things because they are not good!

UNPROFESSIONAL - failure to own up to mistakes. I don’t know what is up with their engineering and PR team, but Depop has been experiencing so many glitches and does not handle them appropriately, citing user blame or another company to blame (Paypal) in response to criticisms by Depop buyers and sellers. Recently, they had a huge glitch obviously caused by a problem with the newly implemented Depop shipping methods, causing Depop seller accounts to be automatically suspended despite following community guidelines. Depop has barely responded to any of the instagram comments or tweets about this and failed to make any kind of announcement regarding their plans of action. Once a few accounts finally got unsuspended, they were sent an email recommending that they verify their Paypal account and link their bank accounts to PayPal. HOWEVER, users stated they used DEPOP PAYMENTS, NOT PAYPAL. So Depop basically blamed the user for a problem that was obviously their company’s. For some people, Depop is their only income and for the company to disregard how this app is inherently serious since it deals with money and any glitch would be a huge issue for sellers depending on Depop? it’s sickening. Instead of spending money on collabs, trendy edits, and PR that obviously isn’t even adequate, maybe they should focus on making sure their app actually works.
