Perfect for Rapid Review of Landmark Trials. The app has always worked smoothly on all of my iPhones. I had a great experience suggesting a landmark trial that was not in the app.. Two weeks after I sent the email Boom! They rolled and update with my request. Keep up the good work!

Not updated, not comprehensive. This app holds great potential for physicians in constant need of up-to-date evidence based material to apply to their practice and remain abreast of the ever advancing science of medicine. However it is by no means inclusive of all relevant research in any given specialty, let alone being updated often enough. I sincerely hope the creators become cognizant of the need for physicians to have at their tips an app like this that allows them to practice EBM without investing inordinate amounts of precious time.

Very limited content.. Not much in the lung cancer space. Was pretty excited about this app. Heard Peter Attia rave about it. Everything I searched for was not found. Very disappointing.

Stupid app. This app shows trials that are ten year old. It crashes and is a total waste of money. I want a refund

Great app for pharmacists. An app every clinical pharmacist should have. Very user friendly interface and it gives access to the full article as well for only $2.99! I hope to see more trials added. Great job so far, very pleased.

Amazing for medical students/residents/health professionals. Expert opinion is becoming less and less important. The future of all clinical decision making will increasingly rely on evidence in literature. This app breaks down all the major trials that guide our decision making process into bite sized pieces of information that makes medical literature fun to read! Whether you're trying to make the right decision to help a patient or impress your team this app is a great place to quickly look for relevant information. Try it!!

It is Great, end of story...the rest is up to us!. This app is not meant to give us as physicians the final word but a starting point to conduct a systematic review.

Excellent!. I use this all the time in practice. Very easy read and useful.

Minimal trials. With so many going on at all times its a real let down to see so few updates for the cost of this app.

Great app that keeps getting better. This app is great to look and refresh your memory on the studies. There were not so many papers at the beginning but it keeps getting better as they add more and more almost daily I have noticed.

Fantastic Resource. This is a great app. It has a large database of trials to review. I found it very helpful for my clinical rotations and currently use it to brush up on trials for my current practice. The new update looks beautiful. I highly recommend this app. Rich, PharmD

No anesthesia section. I was very disappointed to see that the current version of this app lacks an anesthesiology section, despite it being shown in the screenshots in the App Store. I paid for this app with that notion in mind, being an Anesthesiology resident... after inquiring, I was told that the anesthesia articles were now captured under the critical care section, but that doesn't really seem to be the case... love the idea for this app but disappointed that my specialty isn't really covered as it was billed to be...

Incredibly useful. This app is incredibly useful. I'm a pharmacy student and have always wanted something that could condense all major landmark trials into one place. Highly recommended!

Concise and helpful.. All the benefits of an actual journal club without the tiresome human interaction. Very worthwhile investment.

Best collection of important journal articles. This is a great application that keeps track of the best journal articles that have impacted medical care and decision-making over the years. The information is summarized in a succinct fashion and I love the additional comments as well as the links to the original article or abstract.

Not as advertised. It's a lovely idea, but it's got a long way to go. It claims to have studies in multiple specialty areas, but there aren't that many topics included, and there is an overwhelming focus on general internal medicine topics. Psychiatry has one small study from 2002 only, with no mention of STAR-D, CATIE, SADHART, or multiple other major studies; Neurology is similarly extraordinarily weak with all studies but one from 2002 or earlier. Rheumatology also has one study only. If I'd known, I would have waited for updates to see if more content would be posted.

Great..needs an update. Plz update the trials ..nothing recent

In a class by itself!. As far as I know there's nothing else out there like this, at least not that I've found. As a med student I love having instant access to these landmark studies when navigating treatment options. As I understand it, the app is based on a collaborative effort, so if you want more studies from your specialty, contribute!

Not nearly enough clinical trials included for $4.99!!!. Am I missing something? I'm shocked at the 5 star reviews. This is the most incomplete list of Clinical Trials I've seen in any app! Seriously? I paid $4.99 when other free apps have a much bigger database of relevant clinical trials. Very nice format of the trials included but just not enough of them to be worth $4.99. Hopefully many more trials will be added and then this could be a "go-to" app bc as I stated the interface itself is really great. Such a shame.

Great app. Very good app to have for medical profesionales.

Exceptional Resource. I use this app to look up details everyday for EBM on ICU rounds. I feel it provides a lot of need-to-know information in a concise manner. Definitely easier to refer to this app for most of my evidence needs. It is not a complete list of journals but it has everything you need to practice in an academic setting. Enjoy!

Great resource!. This app is awesome for referencing important clinical trials. I use it pretty much every day. As a third year student, I get pimped on evidence-based practice pretty regularly, and this app has been useful in that regard time and again. Highly recommended!

Helpful but... Love that I can look up landmark studies quickly but the app hasn’t been updated since 2019.. I wish they had new studies on the app

A Very Worthwhile App - User Friendly Review of Medical Studies. Journal Club for iPhone is a very nice new app that is well worth its $2.99 price. It offers user-friendly access major studies in internal medicine by name, year published, specialty and disease. IF the study you are looking for is in the data base - you can easily find it in no more than 2-3 seconds. Each study begins with a brief "Bottom Line" followed by a 1-2 paragraph helpful description of Major Points. Then follow sections on Design, Methodology, Outcomes, Findings, Funding, you name it - each with full details. As a new app - there has already been a tremendous amount of data accumulated and consolidated into a very well organized format. The 3 areas I'd like to see in future updates are: i) expansion of the data base; ii) a bit more discussion on validity and impact of each study; iii) an app for ipad as well as iphone - but this is a GREAT start to what could become the best app on the medical literature. I LOVE having ready access to key points on many studies I previously had difficulty remembering. THANK YOU for making this app!

In its infancy. Tremendous potential, great execution so far in terms of format, but weak in terms of volume of content. Hopefully that will change.

Wonderful, evolving. The app is not, of course, a comprehensive library of every important study for every speciality, but the authors are adding relevant studies serially the the summaries that are already here constitute a great starting point. Further, the summaries themselves are concise, relevant, helpful, and well-written.

Need to add more trials. I think this is a wonderful app and would be worth much more money if they add a comprehensive list of trials. Only a handful of trials are listed. However, some of the most commonly sited ones are listed. This should be regarded as a work in progress. Kudos to the author.

Frustrating. Frustrated with how outdated this is

Great summaries for certain specialties. FYI, if your app is crashing, just uninstall and reinstall it! This is advice from Dr. Plante last time, when I had issues. No hiccups since. If not, Dr. Plante is very quick to respond. I've had this app for several months now. It's a great resource if you happen to be practicing in one of the specialties it has more summaries of, i.e. cardiology. On other subjects like ID, I don't see nearly as many articles. All in all, great tool! Keep it up.

needs update. Can’t find trials newer than 2020 - the most important tend to be the latest. Needs an update!

Great!. Really excited about this app and having at my finger tips a very decent assortment of landmark paper summaries. Quick read, succinct, easy to use, I'm super excited to be able to use it just as I am about to start up residency. It might not be 100% comprehensive, yet, but I'm confident it'll quickly accelerate and build up a comprehensive collection. So why not buy now?!

Best for internist. I am an internal medicine resident and this app gave so much to my knowledge, especially during round and one of the attendings cite an RCT. It gives you the summary in very nice way.

Well done. I consider this app a great idea. Save time, gives a brief, schematic but complete at the same time overview of the most important articles. Highly recommended or who wants to keep up with updates.

Well thought out app that has it all. Includes links to the PDFs that really work. Many ways to sort trials. The explanations are easy to read, include lots of stats and even the criticisms of the studies.

Must have for students and residents. The only thing I find lacking: the breadth and scope isn't quite where I'd like it to be. I've wondered "why are we using X instead of Y for Z?" with some cases and found nothing in the app even though there ended up being a "landmark" paper. I understand that the entries take time to make and that's probably why; it'd be perfect with just a bit more content. Buy this app. You won't regret it.

Crashing. Crashing like crazy on my iPad Mini 4, especially when I try to sort by date. Also, the touch accuracy is totally off. I have to touch below what I want to select. Edit: working fine again

Can’t contact them, limited use for gen surg. When I click the buttons to provide feedback or suggest an article, the app says my phone is not configured to send email. Cannot find an email address anywhere in the app or online for support. Limited utility for general surgery, not up to date with latest landmark trials.

Amazing.. An amazing IM intern showed me Journal Club on a a research heavy Stroke Service. It's role on my phone is different than UpToDate's function because of its depth in landmark studies. I recommend it for med students encountering research heavy rotations and those with a genuine interest in navigating landmark studies.

Not great for obgyn. Graat for medical specialties, but lacking in the field of OBGYN.

Very Well Done. Going through literature is a time consuming process that sometimes does not yield any useful information or even incorrect information from poorly done trials. Journal Club save me time since I know I can trust the quality of source.

Helpful articles but where is the anesthesia section?. I like the concept of app and have found a couple useful papers in it, but I feel like I was duped into purchasing it. The advertisement photo shows an anesthesia section, and I was incredibly disappointed to find that the actual app does not include this specialty (particularly disappointing as in an anesthesia resident).

Useless. Update: thanks for big fix! No longer crashing and unusable. I have only looked at the Cardiology section and it is fantastic. Seems like "all" the major articles are here. Updates very frequently. Even articles released this month are here! Can sort articles by name or date. Can view articles from all subspecialties at one or filter by subspecialties eg Cardiology. Can further filter by disease eg heart failure. The summaries themselves are well written with "bottom lines" first followed by a more in depth summary and analysis of the article.

Amazing pocket reference. It is the expectation that any high-level healthcare provider practice utilizing the highest quality evidence available. Of course, memorizing every landmark trial is unrealistic; the Journal Club offers a great way to quickly reference landmark clinical trials. Additionally, the information is provided in a complete, intuitive, and consistent fashion. Overall, a must-have for those working in healthcare.

Love this app!. Invaluable for keeping track of landmark trials. Please continue to expand the library!

Very concise and practical. For anyone who strives to practice EBM, this app is outstanding.

No new updated. This is 3-years without an update. No worth it

No anesthesiology. What happened to anesthesiology? Do we not count?!

UPDATE THE TRIALS PLEASE. Nothing new on the app.

Nice start. Decent start. Many papers missing. Incomplete cross-referencing. Would benefit from larger database

Great app for residents. Love this app! It’s such a great resource to use when I need the condensed version of a major study fast and don’t have the time to spend reading and analyzing all the information. Thanks for this resource! Keep adding major surgical papers too!!

Awesome. Awesome app! Everything I've always wanted to know in one place!

Has potential. Ive had this for 2 weeks but no new studies were added. Needs more atudies. But its a good app withgood layout

No anaesthesia. I bought this thinking it would have anaesthesia as a specialty but it doesn’t and nowhere did it say in the app description that anaesthesia was not included. Very odd given that it’s the largest in hospital specialty.

Fantastic app!. Great interface, excellent for easy reference of all important trials!

Handy Resource. Landmark studies summaries at your fingertips. Nicely done app, well worth the money for any practising doctor or medical students. To reviewer who complained that no new studies were added in the two weeks of owning the apps: this app only includes _landmark_ studies and its likely that during that two weeks nothing major has been published hence the lack of update.

Excellent. Great app to lookup all trials in one location. Very good layout and easy to read.

Solid value. Very useful medical journal aggregate

A great app in the teaching hospital. I purchased this app a number of months ago and have found that I use it personally in the hospital on a daily basis. It's so useful that I recommend it for all my house staff. I'll even buy it for them if they show me the app on their mobile device. We use it on rounds as well as more didactic teaching sessions. It's simply a great teaching tool. No longer do we have to send one of the house staff off to look for an article. It's immediately at hand. And no more half-baked ideas about inclusion/exclusion criteria or outcomes. The reviews of trials are complete and unbiased. More recently I talked to the App developers about two trials of sepsis not on the app. Within weeks both trials were there for our use. I was pretty impressed with the responsiveness of the developers. Keep up the good work. All in all a great app for myself and my housestaff. Iain Mackie M.D. FRCPC, University of British Colombia.

Solid App. Very useful for medical professionals. Highly recommended!

Please Add Anesthesiology. I love this app, it is incredibly informative but please add anesthesiology

Very bad. Need more effort to put in to be uptodate.

Thorough, quick customer service. Great reviews and summaries, respond to questions quickly and request for paper reviews

...Not. Lots of cardiology , less if the rest

Great. Very good, but incomplete. I looked for Miami and Camiat, but they are not included. Thank you.

Excellent app. A must for every physician. What I miss is the possibility to change the text size.

Best medical Literature app. Just try it and you will learn everything about clinical trials?

excellent app. Excellent ,up to date, guideline based. Next step - make comprehensive guideline summaries by piecing the guideline section in various trials as they apply to various diseases - cardio a good place to start!

Good way to stay up to date. App is updated frequently with new trials.

Amazing, and getting better. This is a fantastic app and a must have for ANY med student, resident or staff physician. It is lacking some studies in specific areas but has monthly updates and is only getting better. Keep up the good work!

Please add anesthesiology. This is a great app, but please add anesthesiology.

Amazing. Succinct summary of important clinical trials right on your phone. Great UI. Easy to sort between specialties and diseases.

Great app!. Love it! Very well made great app way to keep up with studies

Get it. Best key trials collection

Great app!. Continuously updated, very useful on the wards and for studying. Beautiful design! I absolutely recommend it!

Excellent. I just wanted to verify for anyone reading the reviews that it's 2017 and the app is still being updated regularly. In fact, it added a landmark cardiology paper within less than a month. Love it!

Beautiful!!!. Research articles for Journal club already outlined for you!

Nice format but little content.. This app is structured well, but there are very few trials under each category. As far as cardiology studies go, I would stick with the trial apps that are already out there.

Finally!. Current Med student here. All I can say is "finally!"

Excellent app- perfect for the intern wanting to shine!. Excellent app with great outlines of landmark studies. Key point highlighted, easy access, and constantly updated with new studies! Love it!

Needs more psychiatry!!!. This is a wonderful tool, but there is a meager selection of psychiatry articles. Please add some of the seminal studies for child psychiatry: TADS, TEOSS, TORDIA, POTS, etc.

Crashed!!!. This app crashed one day after purchase. Unable to open it now. Paid money for nothing!! This needs to be fixed soon for iPhone 6

False advertising. Recently made the mistake of purchasing this app as it appeared promising, advertising articles covering every medical specialty. After paying, I quickly realized that many specialities including my own had nearly no articles. Inexcusable. Expect more transparency and honesty from fellow physicians. Feeling ripped off and duped. Don't buy this app unless you're a budding cardiologist.

Amazing!. I've been trying to put a list like this together for years!! This is way better than my word doc!!

It's okay. Nice interface, but overall not nearly comprehensive enough or updated frequently enough. There a much better resources out there (acp journal club, journal watch, etc)

I know what they are talking about!. In an academic environment it is easier to follow, understand and even contribute to dissuasion on patient management strategies and evidence for plan. I have learned a lot more just because of this app. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful!!. Great quick review for studies with concise and yet thorough summaries! Please continue to add more!!

Great resource for teaching. Enjoy the collection of landmark studies in a concise format. Very useful as teaching points for medical students on general rotations.

Updates needed. Small amount of journal articles and lack of updates is this apps biggest downfall. (Last updated October 2015) I would pay up to 1.99 for its current journal content.

Great App for Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Students!. I am currently a P4 pharmacy student on my 4th year clinical rotations. This app is great! I have almost all the important "land-mark" clinical trials at my fingertips!

Excellent App!. This app provides excellent, reliable information. I would highly recommend Journal Club to anyone in the medical field!

Love this app. Very helpful on rounds. Even a few attendings have downloaded it after seeing me use it!

Ready, set, crash!. This used to be one of my favorite apps. As an intern no time to read all the new and landmark studies, this was a great go to. For the last 2 months has been crashing whenever I open the app. After the recent update, still no change. FIX IT and I'll give it the 5 stars it deserves when working.

Crashing after a few seconds. Hardly a comprehensive list. Needs a lot of work with regard to adding a reasonable amount of articles. Now with new update app crashes after a few seconds so it is now useless.

great resource. Awesome app. breaks down major studies, old and new. great resource. all the residents at my hospital have this now. definitely worth the money.

Wow!!. What a great app. If you are too busy/lazy to read papers, this app really makes your life easier!

Can I give it 10 stars?. Fantastic App! Well done. For someone who has to keep up with the medical literature on multiple journals, this app is a god send. Thank you for filling this niche.

Super app!. Amazingly well organized and easy to use!

Very useful!!. Must have for physicians who want to remain uptodate. Current guidelines incorporated into each article discussion is a brilliant idea.

Must-have medical app for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and students. Great app that provides easy-to-digest summaries of landmark medical studies that guides treatment. All healthcare providers should download this as a reference.

One of the best medical apps. Easily my second most used app day to day in the hospital. Especially useful during academics or to clarify guidelines.

Does exactly as advertised. Very thorough. Impressed with how the content is sorted and summarized. Would be great to allow users to write comments.

Excellent Medical App. I can echo the same other comments. If the App crashes when you have internet connectivity as it tries to update, uninstall and reinstall. Great app for interns, residents and attendings alike.

App closing. Ditto. App opening then closing after updates. Please fix. Good app.

Nice App. Very useful. Missing some studies, however, they update at least monthly.

A necessity. This is useful at all levels of clinical training. Easy to find studies by topic or name. Concise descriptions and great info. A must-have!

Great resource. Very useful. Looking forward to future updates.

Fantastic app!. This app has made my life as a chief at least 3x easier.

Stellar!. What a wonderful and long overdue resource! Excellent for keeping abreast of seminal literature for both patient care and teaching. Concise but thorough. Fantastic!

Awesome app!. Best medical app I own. Very user friendly and summarizes all the relevant points of each trial. Have been referencing this app all the time at work. Great app! Thank you journal club!!!

Med student. Great interface and the trials present provide a great review. There is just not a lot of the reviews. I think this will be the must have app as the volume grows. Price point ok just hope it zis updated

Indispensable!. This has been an indispensable resource for me during residency and now as I continue with fellowship. I recommend it to all physicians. Please continue to update it !

McDr McMak. Concise summaries! Wish i could bookmark my favorite journals. Looking forward to future updates.

Great app!. Excellent way to access this great web resource. Intuitive and simple layout.

Anesthesiology!!! please!!!. Great App Would have given 5stars if it had articles from my specialty...anesthesiology!!!

Nice. Geared for rounds. Making people think you know when you really do not

Great app!. Amazing grace, how sweet this app, that saved a retch like me. This is the most useful app I have ever purchased. Very straightforward format. Great for reviewing on rounds. Excellent summaries of articles and their importance in the grand scheme of medicine

Needs to be fixed. There are several limitations namely the lack of landmark trials which are referred to but not available. Also t is very annoying to have The second trial in a series and not the first that seems counterproductive eg the CHARM And MADIT trials. And last but not least. THE STUPID APP DOES NOT OPEN MOST TIMES😡. I have to delete the app and then redownload. #wantmymoneyback. This app does not deserve a single star😒

Best medical app so far.. As an ICU attending, this is the most useful app I have found. Great for reference, great for rounds, great for patient care.

Repeated crashes. Newest version repeatedly crashes right after opening. Without a bug fix, it is completely useless. When this app was working in the past, cardiology section had the most trials. Though even in cardiology, there were multiple instances when I was looking for a specific trial, it was missing. Other sections are extremely sparse.

Awesome!. First! Great app, will definitely find this extremely useful.

Should be continuously updated. Great app but please add more trials. I otherwise have no complaints.

This is the best literature review app. Fantastic quick detailed information at your fingertips.

Wonderful and Succinct Reviews. A much needed review of landmark trials for physicians, pharmacists, and students in the midst of training. This app is by no means a substitute for personal assessment of the literature, but it provides a fair and relatively unbiased groundwork from which to begin.

Out of date. So I might be missing something but the most recent article on the app is from February 2011... Sure, lots of things stay the same in a year, but a lot of things change too. This could be a lot more interesting (and useful) if it were up to date.

Exactly what I had hoped for. So easy to use, well summarized, the most relevant and up to date studies. This is a great resource for students, residents, and attendings.
