PayPal Here - Point of Sale Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

PayPal Here Chip & Swipe Reader. I’ve been very pleased with the PayPal Here app and the accompanying card reader. I’ve been using them without any problems every weekday for the past 2 months. I have only had one instance where the card reader seemed to freeze up and not connect to the app; to get around that issue, I hand keyed the customer’s CC number into the app and proceeded to charge the payment. Other than that one time, I have had absolutely no issues. The PayPal Here app and card reader work amazingly. I’m able to accept all card payments and at the end of the day I transfer the amount over to my bank account. The funds transfer over without any problem within about 48 hours. If I want to use the funds immediately I do have a PayPal MasterCard.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS COMPANY. So I run a business which is a home improvement business and I figured I would try out this app because they give you a free card reader and a lot of my customers use cards now days well let me tell you DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE !!! I recently made 2 transactions to this account they give you and they were small transactions . One was for $50 and the other was for $60 and as soon as I put the $60 into he account they froze my account . I have $74 in my account and I can’t use it . I had been 5 days and I sent them a pic of my driver license business lic and state certification. And the person that put the money on my card never disputed it or anything . They just chose to freeze my account . and have lost business over this . Please save yourself the headache and use another app this app is so bogus please .

Works great but has massive issues. The app does work when you can actually get logged into it, but in low signal areas you can barely get logged into the app. Sometimes even bringing up the app doesn’t always bring up the fingerprint authentication when it’s supposed to either. You have to close it and reopen it several times to get it to prompt. The most annoying feature of the app is the auto-logout at 5pm EST. There’s no way to turn that feature off. You run a card and while it tries to charge the card THEN you get a prompt saying you’re not logged in. Worthless. The “no signature required” for purchases under $50 doesn’t work if you use a chip reader. Only works on swipe and tap. I’ve been with this app for over 5 years and none of these things have been addressed.

PayPal is great. Now you can pay at cvs with ur Apple phone. PayPal was one of the first online business that I can remember it's one of the best ones and it's safe to use because they to 24 hour Thurrell connection for no one to steal your codes or hack your name. They have especially unique to protect you as everything else you still have to be careful never put your passcode or email to a site or a new site I should say that's how they steal your passcodes do it when you know it's safe. However PayPal is awesome I highly recommend pay pal to everybody

App is not compatible to iOS in dark mode!!!. I have tried to reach out to PayPal support and I was quite surprised by the response of the representative when I told her that there is an issue with this app in iOS 13 or 14 when using dark mode. In Light mode the app works and looks fine, but when in dark mode 90+% of the UI are unreadable! I would think that any app developer would want to know about this and jump on it to fix it. But that was not the response I got. I was told to just switch to light mode since it works in light mode! Anyway, I sure hope they jump on it and either simply lock their app to only show the UI in light Mode, or update the app UI design to work in dark mode as well. Hope PayPal will read this. Wish I could send screenshots in here.

Worst business app AWFUL Impossible to use. I’ve been using PayPal for over a year for a small business I run part time. I tried Square this summer because I started doing shows for an easy way to take credit card payments. When my Square stopped working I stopped into Staples to upgrade my reader. I decided on PayPal Here because it was half the price of the Square reader and I already use PayPal. I downloaded the app to set it up. The first issue I had was after I submitted my application for review. PayPal has a fingerprint ID option but still requires a password. Then they ask for info to verify my identity but I found it impossible to upload any info from my iPhone. I’ve tried all week to verify information with no success!!😡😡 Next, I tried linking the device to my phone. It’s totally undiscoverable!! Finally I now have a 30 day reserve on funds in my PayPal account. WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE USE A SERVICE THAT HOLDS THEIR MONEY FOR A MONTH? THAT’S NOT SECURITY. IT’S EVIL!! They also say they can hold it up to 180 days and require a reserve at all times. I realize there may be unscrupulous sellers out there who take money and close accounts but why create a barrier for businesses who’ve demonstrated they have a history of good business practices. This is the single worst tool PayPal has created. I’ve been happy with their service until now. Very unhappy with PayPal here. ☹️ If I can find alternatives I most certainly will.

Would only recommend to my enemy. Where do I begin? Very difficult to find information, even on full site. Very arbitrary about holds placed on my transactions, although they always make sure to take their fee off the top, and then hold MY money, even though we have never had an issue with a customer and have never had to issue a refund. Also, I’ve been given completely contradictory information from various reps. Some of which was completely incorrect, and could have been very expensive to me, if I had trusted their word. They are also terrible about informing their customers about their policies, and terms, and unfortunately you often find out the hard way after processing a transaction only to have it held for no reason, for 30 days. I have had no choice other than transitioning my business to my bank. If I ran my business as slipshod as PayPal, I would have NO BUSINESS left. Use at your own risk, because you likely will have issues sooner or later.

A company that I trust. I love the functionality of this application. It works flawlessly with my chip card reader. *SUGGESTION* this application will rock if it had appointment/booking/scheduling calendar built right into the app. I use Setmore for booking clients to my service but Setmore lack PayPal as a payment processor in their app. Even if they did, I would still prefer to use the PayPal app to process my payments and keep all payments, transaction records, clients and appointments all inside one app that has its own mobile terminal. UPDATE: I hope PayPal integrates a appointment booking scheduling system in this app. I made this suggestion a while ago but obviously PayPal isn’t listening..

Perfect for My Side Gig. I use PayPal Here to process card payments at craft markets. The app is simple to use and has all the options I need. I love being able to set up a list of items to punch in at checkout. Card processing is pretty straightforward, and the fee PayPal charges for each transaction is very reasonable. I also like being able to check my PayPal balance, review transaction history, and transfer money to my bank account through the app. The card reader itself works fine, as long as you use it right. Just make sure it’s turned on and connected BEFORE you start a transaction. Otherwise it may not read the card. If your phone has trouble connecting to the reader automatically, use the “connect to card reader” option, and it will find it immediately. The battery on the card reader is better than I had expected. It’s lasted through a few 8-hour markets. It also charges pretty quickly.

Definitely not recommended. I started using PayPal here mostly out of convenience, a friend had given me an extra swiper they didn’t need. After only a couple of very frustrating months I am going to be switching to an alternative payment processing method. Seemingly randomly, they will hold partial (or entire) transactions without any explanation for 30 days. Not cool to have thousands of dollars that I can’t access for no discernible reason at all, especially when their processing fee is comparatively higher than competitors (3%). I’ve tried to contact customer service to no avail, no responses yet. FAQ does not provide any information on this issue or how to prevent it. For example: I ran a $700 transaction yesterday and was only able to access $200 of it immediately, and now I have to wait a whole month for the remaining $500–that was the last time I will ever use this app.

This app gets worse by each update. I remember the first time this app came out and it used to save info, like the payer’s name. After the first major update, we have to input the name each time repeat customers pay. Before the update in 2020, we used to be able to see the payer’s name on the Sales History on iPhone, now you only see the date and amount. It also used to be able to auto-capitalize the payer’s name when you add them on iPhone, now it doesn’t auto capitalize. I still have the older version on my old iPhone 5 which didn’t update anymore and it is much better. I still see the payer’s name and it auto capitalizes when you input the payer. I truly wish PayPal would go back to the original app where it would auto save payer’s info.

Don’t have a customer do a Reversal or Dispute charges. Would give 5 stars, but if a customer decides to cancel or reverse there transaction. They take the money off you immediately and puts your account-negative. When I contacted customer service it took almost 2 months to get my money back. I couldn’t use the credit card machine until I payed the negative balance. And it was a accidental reversal by one of my client. Very stressful and process should be speed up for merchants because it does cause a interruption in being able to use the machine. Other than that every thing has been good with the app n device.

Being back the old tip screen. It used to be when collecting a payment using a chip card, once the card was inserted a tip screen would populate on the iPhone/iPad super easy and convenient for the client to then add the tip before continuing on to the signature screen. Now this latest update forces the tip to be collected using the chip reader so now instead of just handing the client my phone I have to unplug the card reading device being it over to the client to make their selections (which is not the easiest thing for a senior citizen to read or use what with the all the buttons that confuses them) before then handing them my phone to sign. Why the extra steps!?? It was perfectly fine the way it was originally set up. This makes me now want to go find a new cc system to use. What was once so convenient is now unnecessarily difficult.

Years doing business 👍🙏. Take it from me I being doing business with PayPal for years, if you need a very secure credit account go for anything you need , I mean anything if you need a loan a credit card or opening your own business or just selling accepting credit cards on your business it easier when you could charge from any where, from your own mobile cellphone 📱. They their when you need them they will back you up, they don’t let know one get over🙏👍

PayPal is a joke. If you’re interested in partnering with a company that allows you to accept credit cards from your customers, then will make you wait and eternity before releasing your money, this is the company for you! I cant understand why anyone would want to use PayPal! So we went through all the set up and started accepting payment from customers on PayPal and what a nightmare! Thank God we only ran two or three customers cards through PayPal! They are holding funds on two of them for up to a month! When we told PayPal we did not want to wait that long and that we would like to refund the customers money, we were told from PayPal that unfortunately the returning funds would come out of our account as the customers funds were tied up in PayPals holding account! What a joke! Obviously at least one of PayPal’s gig’s is making money from interest of people’s (my customers) funds as long as possible, claiming they’re trying to verify transactions that have already been approved on my customers cards!!! I think this should be considered fraud! I would definitely stay away from this company and would not recommend them to anyone!

Reserve Roll Holds. As a small business owner it’s very disappointing to know now that as a seller you risk the possibility of having money made for your business thru your company on hold for 30 days and not released to you. This is completely discouraging to do business operating with PayPal. That policy is ridiculous & unfair to sellers and should be much less. And, speaking with your customer care today who was holding the title of a supervisor doesn’t do much for wanting to continue on using PayPal. The supervisor was very short, rude and not helpful at all. Something needs to be done to protect your sellers to receive their money in a fast time span at all times & for better customer service. Cash apps I will try going forward because your guarantee for sellers to have their money in an understandable time frame you do not provide.

Pay Pal Here ?. It doesn't work, currently using an Iphone 6S with OS 9.3 It is 2016 already and by now they should've figured it out !!! That been said the app works halfway but it just won't read and no it is not the reader, tried a new one already, at the end it is useless!!!! Everything else can be easily done via browser ...update: it is September 2017 and still doesn’t work ! Unbelievable ! Tried with iOs 10.3.3 and iOs 11 as well to no avail... Reply to developer: Hi how are you, like I mentioned in the review the credit cards reader just won’t work, already tried a new one to no avail. We are aware that we always have the option to charge the purchase which happens to be conveniently for you, higher fees as opposed as swiping a card. There is no problem with the phone, we are also using Square which works flawlessly. Update Sept. 22, 2017; version 2.8.4 installed and it worked once, for the first time ever the card reader worked. Thank you very much ! Update Sept. 27, 2017; again it stopped working, the credit card reader simply won’t read the cards. Got another new reader but it just won’t work !!!!??? deleting the app and switching businesses to a different method, it is sad that after over 10 years we need to modify our billing procedures. Please FIX this issue !!! Thank you

They take control of YOUR money. Don’t use PayPal they are crooks who take their money off the top and put it on hold almost every transaction waiting 21 days for a customer to have a button to allow it to be okay to get your money and apparently they don’t like having to talk to u about it they will charge you extra for their own business mistakes and consider you responsible for anything they do wrong then ban you from using pay pal they are a joke just crooks who can’t do the one thing they are supposed to do without problems giving u ur money!! Cash app and Venmo and even square card reading is better and absolutely no problems from them I 5 years .. save yourself the trouble choose a more professional company

Doesn’t work with iPhone X. I just upgraded to an iPhone X from an iPhone 7 Plus and found that it isn’t compatible. The chip reader connects via Bluetooth, but in the app itself, it can’t find or connect to the reader. I called customer support and they confirmed that none of the readers are compatible with the iPhone X. They stated that they don’t know when they will make the updates to this app and the readers to make them compatible. I am now forced to key in all credit card numbers. I even asked if they can reduce the processing fee of keyed entries to match the processing fee for the card reader (because it is their fault for not making it compatible before the release of the iPhone X), and they stated, “no, because we don’t know if you really do have an iPhone Ten, and we can’t verify that that’s your only device to accept payments on.”

Terrible for small business owners. BEWARE!!! If you are a small business owner and charge more than $500 in a 7 day period, PayPal here keeps the REST OF YOUR MONEY FOR 30 DAYS! For us, that meant they kept 70% of what we made today and will not allow us to access it for a month. They claim this is standard practice for credit cards, but has never happened with Intuit or Etsy or Square, so obviously it is not the industry standard. This is not made clear when you sign up. It is in the available information if you click through multiple screens to find it. Their ONLY solution for us: "contact all the people you sold to today, refund their money and ask them to pay an invoice instead." We are vendors. We sell to someone, they take their items, they leave. We don't have access to all of the people we sold to today. This is, in no way, a viable option. I have a mortgage to pay with the money they are holding on to. My customer has their product today, PayPal Here has their cut today, but I get mine in 30 days. Unacceptable. I hope this will help others avoid this horrible situation.

App fails and says “we are having trouble completing your request right now” when I try to log in.. Two events now and the app has failed us. July 2-4 the app went down on two different phones, two different phone carriers but we both got the same red banner at login that said they were experiencing difficulties. This happened again a couple days ago during a 10 day event, at the peak of sales. Luckily I ordered a backup chip/card reader with another company and that ones been great. Paypal is a total let down and worse is is cost us sales. We looked so unprofessional and when we called Paypal they said the have no other tickets for the issue. I’ve tried several times o er the past few days of the event to log in and keep getting the same error message. Can’t imagine what would have happened if we didn’t have the new card reader with the other company. This event cost us $2400 in booth space rent. A down card reader would have been the death of us! Bad for business, we are very unhappy with PayPal right now and won’t be using the app or card readers ever again!

Great mobile credit card processing. I honestly have no idea what these people are talking about that are giving this a poor rating. PayPal as well as the hardware has worked very reliably for us. I guess the only inconsistency that I’ve noticed is that when we change cashiers, and phones, the new phone doesn’t automatically connect to the card reader. I often have to go into Bluetooth, forget the device and rediscover it. Our business is seasonal therefore it’s great that we don’t pay fees on the months that we are not doing business. We may pay a little higher fee than some other services but at years end, we come out ahead.

PayPal - master of convenience and flexibility!👍. I have been using PayPal for over a year now and I am so happy with it. It gives me the flexibility of accepting multiple forms of payment, and it is so fast! I highly recommend it for anyone the is a small business owner! Being in the Electric service industry, Just being able to offer the use of credit and debit cards has increased my ability to do larger jobs immediately, closing higher paying and higher-end jobs. Thanks so much for the PayPal service!

Read the fine print for paypal business.. The holds paypal puts on customer money is almost 3 weeks or longer. We submitted all the required documents. Paypal didn't release the funds into our account. In the fine print it says they can hold the money if they think it's suspicious or if they think your selling something for to high of price. If paypal thinks you sneeze wrong they can hold the money. Its not a joke or a rant it's just the truth. Read the fine print and the list of reasons is so long after the first 3 or 4 you realize this is not where I want my business account through. I went through a traditional brick and mortar bank strictly because of this.

Great App!. I’ve been using this app for about 3 1/2 years. Everything has been going great. I have only had one issue with them holding money. I was at an event and apparently the service in that area was very bad. A lot of my credit card transactions would not swipe so I had to key them in manually. I didn’t know that if you keyed in a certain amount of transactions manually that they would put those transactions on hold. I had to wait about 2 weeks to get the money released. That was my only issue with waiting so long for the money to be released but apparently they were saying it was some type of fraud protection and they had to verify that the transactions were legit. It finally went through and I have not had any other problems since then except for having to get a new card reader. My money is available immediately and the fees are a little cheaper then some of the other apps! I’m staying here until something better comes along.

Excellent and safe way to do business. I'm opening a 503c non profit but your support staff explained reserves etc. My fees on my account will always be $200 or $400 and for credit card fraud our financial business banker said purchasing prepaid cards would be safer because there is so much internet fraud. I was just confused why it was not available. It was explained and I see it being very easy moving forward. For my new non profit they will have to use their personal card to get tax gifting credit but I'm going to invest in the chip reader Regards Greg Dalle-Tezze

Great Experience Except Hold Funds For 30 Days. I have used PayPal for personal and business use. It works very well and have not had any problems except key in entry payments are held for your 30 days from Customers which have paid. I understand their rationale as protecting the Customer if their are fraudulent use; however, when a business has been with you PayPal and a running record of great integrity and character; there should not be a problem. Our business verifies an government ID along with the credit card. Some out of the box thinking on PayPal needs other alternatives than holding a business hostage to their own funds by their Customers whom we have already provided the service and merchandise. Thank you for a more thoughtful solution than holding our business funds.

Not great for my small art business. It may be alright for some, but PayPal suspended my account for almost two weeks because they said they needed information about my business. I had money in there that I needed to pay bills with, but it was unavailable to me while they reviewed my case. I had to send articles of incorporation or a tax return or some similar paperwork, which I don’t have! I also had to send a receipt from a supplier. I paint rocks! My supplier is God!!! I don’t have a receipt! After about having a nervous breakdown trying to come up with the documents they require, I finally sent an invoice for business cards and a receipt from Hobby Lobby and 3 days later I have requested my money. Bills are late. I will be closing this account. It might make it more convenient for when I do art shows, but to me, it isn’t with the hassle they caused me!!!

Horrible card reader connectivity, app freezes. The card readers are horrible at best. Bluetooth connectivity is impossible to work with, constantly can’t find the reader, disconnects or freezes- sometimes in the middle of processing a card. Then you have to force close the app, resign in, attempt to look at transaction history (most of the time that won’t pull up) to see if the transaction went through and then start all over again. An absolute must is to bring back a reader that connects to the phone via the jack that accepts chips. There would be so many fewer issues if they got rid of the Bluetooth nonsense. The app itself is set up nicely, would like to see a better breakdown of sales (when you have different sizes it only shows the main item sales not a breakdown of sales by size) customer service is ok when you finally get ahold of them but expect to sit on hold for awhile. Overall there is a lot to be desired and it’s hard to stay with a company when you have a line of customers because you can’t process a credit card. We are currently looking into other options for at the very least a backup because the readers and app are so unreliable. PLEASE MAKE A HEADPHONE JACK CONNECTED CHIP CARD READER!

Love it, except for gratuity part. I wish I had not done the latest update. It used to be that I would enter the price, enter the card information, then hand my phone off to the client where it would prompt them with “confirm total”, and give them an option to add a tip. Now it’s showing me that portion before I enter the card, which I have to ask them if they want to add a tip. I never want to make my clients feel obligated to add a tip, although tips are very common in my industry. I wish I could hand the phone to them like before, and they could discreetly add a tip (or not). I’ve missed out on tips from the last few clients, because I would run the card, and it would go straight to “processing”. It’s better when the client can confirm the total.

PayPal is a safe “professional” app.. Rules and regulations protect both buyer and sellers. As a 2nd generation small business owner. I’ve used the app for over 15 Yrs. and in the beginning, had to be patient while waiting for a transaction to post. In time funds were available the next business day and eventually no partial holds were placed on payments for possible charge backs, unauthorized or disputed transactions. I now enjoy real time payments in full, less fees, with no minimum balance requirements. If your customer is called by their bank card and are asked about a transaction and they don’t recognize or forgot then dispute the charge. The “Genie” can’t be put back in the bottle. I’ve learned to avoid getting a financial institution involved in a dispute by communicating first with the customer about their error. Then refund for services or purchase, avoiding weeks or even months long review done by the financial institution. Alberto Jr. Alberto and Sons Clock Repair

I actually like doing business with PayPal. I have been a PayPal customer for 10+ yrs . I can any swipe a card and it processes the funds immediately into my PP account and I can instantly access the funds via my MC PayPal business debt card within 1 minute or less . Some of the below complaints I’ve seen are from people that don’t understand how funds are transferred to different financial institutions and how fund processing operates within banks and when processing occurs. If you have low risk financial history, chances are that you will not have delays with fund movements/transfers/ ECT . I have banked with many institutions and PayPal is my most secure company and the service experiences alway excel over most of the brick and Mortar banks in the US I have been associated with . Hope this helps !!

Awesome! Always has been.... I see some ppl complaining on here, & not sure why. It works perfectly and I use manual entry or old swipe reader. Money is always available instantaneously. The only exception, on 2-4 occasions over a few years, they locked or declined a large transaction. $2k plus which is understandable since it’s more unusual for my usage. But a phone call usually cleared it up easily and immediately. A little hassle for customer/user on other end trying to pay as they would get a call from their CC company. But all in all the best platform around in my opinion.

Overall great platform. I bought one of the high end cars readers from the store, wouldn’t work when I received it. Got it warrantied and that one crapped out also. I use the two other versions, the chip and swipe as well as the chip and tap readers. It would be nice if there was a more reliable card terminal PayPal could create where the customer can do Tap, Chip, Swipe and enter their pin information without touching a screen, or a personal cell phone. With the pandemic, people are still skeptical about touch someone else’s devices.

Pay Pal is GREAT for small businesses. I have used PayPal for over 5 years and love it. I have a store open 4 days a month and can transfer money to my account on Sunday and the money is there on Monday. It also works great the rest of the month for online sales, Facebook sales and local meet-ups. And even more amazing is how well they manage my online supply purchases. The money is never paid until I receive my package and, if I have a dispute, PayPal works hard to resolve the issue and is quick to refund my money.

Recent improvements. The app has had some bumpy updates lately, however they definitely accepted user feedback and fixed everything up. Most of the negative comments I see result from not reading the terms in their entirety, so read them! There’s important stuff there! Overall, I enjoy using PayPal Here for accepting onsite payment. If I could have one wish, it would be to have more customization for printed and emailed receipts. I would love to be able to put a logo at the top, and change the information that is printed directly.

Fantastic. I have been using pay here for about 7 years and I could not be more happy with them. I use this for my retail business and I love it. My money goes in immediately and I can use my money instantly after. There have been very minor bumps but worked through them. The app is very simple to use and I would recommend it to anyone. I know when I first began they held my money for a short period of time but now that I am a seasoned seller all my money goes in instantly including when I put in the numbers manually. 5 stars!

Great for service industry. I’ve been using pay-pal for for several years now. I use the swipe reader on an I-Phone 6 s. I started originally with an I-5. There have been some bumps along the way such as connectivity issues and a card reader that failed. I do business in remote areas with little to no cell service sometimes. The connection problems resulted from poor cell signal or too many folks using the same tower at the same time. Manual entry almost always did the trick. On few occasions I had to take the customer info an manually enter the payment once I got back to the office. On the card reader, I learned from Pay Pal technical that there is a battery inside the swipe devise that just plan wears out. They sent me a new one and I was up and running again with no issues. Funds on transactions seem to always be available immediately or within the next day.

No issues. I’ve been using this app to accept cards for about five years for my business which is a service business. Only way I can accept cards on the road is with my phone and I always use the PayPal app. I’ve never had any issues with them holding money. When I charge my clients, my money is always in my account instantly. I have the PayPal card myself so I can use my money seconds after running a clients card. I did have a jack issue one time many years ago and PayPal security caught it immediately and shut my account down till I contacted them. All my info had been changed and their security team allowed me to change my password and then they reset all my info back to correct and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. Not a dime was taken from my account and I was super happy with PayPal’s performance. I recommend this app to anyone who is mobile and needs a way of accepting credit cards on the run.

Great app. Downloaded app on the fly to support an event today. Very easy to use and intuitive. Only issue was getting the card reader to read the card; it worked sporadically at first but worked fine later. I’m guessing wifi strength impacts it. It’s easy to enter info by hand when the card won’t scan. Two suggestions: 1-please do away with the signature—it’s meaningless and dangerous in this day and age. 2- When you enter the item name, keep that in memory so it pops up each transaction unless you type in a new name.

All of PayPal’s app are horrible.. So I had downloaded PayPal for personal use. And it would never connect my bank, it only sent one deposit and withdrawal instead of 2 so I couldn’t confirm. Tried to talk to an agent via message, and they didn’t get back to me within the day, so the next day I went to the same chat and whoever the agent was closed the chat without answering my question. And I couldn’t get ahold of anyone after that. Got rid of that app. And decided to get this one for my vary small business, and on this app it won’t upload my picture ID. Also when I go to help or the resolution center can’t find any answers, and it either freezes or doesn’t show anything. And I also couldn’t connect my bank with this app either, every time I put in the correct information and go to connect, it says “sorry we can’t process this information there’s an error try again later” so, I can’t do anything with these apps. I’m done trying, switching to something else.

GREAT...Except for one small, but major flaw. I decided to switch my business over to Paypal this week, after deciding that Sqaure just wasnt doing it for me. 1) 2.70% v.s. 2.75%, as a small business, every bit helps! 2) I can now take Venmo AND Paypal, along with all forms of NFC -- two more options then I previously had with Square -- good, good! 3) I have to take everyone who pays with a chip card, signature...... Lets talk about that one. According to the app, I can turn off signatures under 50$. This is reasonable, I think, and mirrors Squares policy. However, what you are not told is that the no signature under 50$ only applies to: Venmo, Paypal, NFC (Apple / Google) and... magnetic swipe. This turns out to be a small problem because you cannot swipe a magnetic card if you have a chip on it. In an apparent contactless world, I would like Paypal to imagine having to spray and sanitize my iPad after every customer who pays with a credit card, because every customer who pays for a 5$ or 10$ item has to sign for the transaction. This turns what is easily a 5 star app, and a true competitor to Square into a 1 star app that is still sitting in the pit, while Square is running laps. I like the app and the service but having every customer in line having to sign for their transaction is at least 7 years behind the service I have been enjoying with Square. Fix it.

Better than Square. I switched to PayPal here almost year ago and i love it. For about 4 years i used Square and when my photography business started growing, Square blocked $4350 of my last few sales and forced me to refund because transactions were higher than average. So i thought it’s good for Square. I’m growing and they are growing too. So there was no way they would process my money and deposit to my bank, i had to refund the money to clients, which was frustrating for both them and for me. Then i did all my invoices through PayPal. Thanks for amazing services and card readers charge stays for much longer hours. Also, i love PayPal capital, that gave me a loan for my business so i could invest in more equipment. Amazing! And apps work great’ Arken Insta @ newyorkfaces

Wow! So easy!!! I love this ap!. I have used Pay Pal for a long time now, well over 10 years. When I decided to start accepting credit cards for my business I consider switching to something like “ Square” or another one of the mobile credit cards programs, I had no idea Pay Pal offered it. Once I realized Pay Pay had Pay Pal Here I was excited to try it! After using it I couldn’t be happier!! Sooooo Super easy to use, very pleased to keep my account with Pay Pal! The money it there instantly!! The only complaint I do have is Pay Pal customer support group is sometimes hard to deal with, but I do t have to call them often because the ap works great!!!!

Great concept, horrible customer service, horrible policies!. These ppl are about one thing only. HOLDING YOUR MONEY! Ya know it’s hard enough running a small business in today’s economy. Now you have some big corporation holding us back from feeding our kids, paying our employees & keeping the lights on. Customer service only tells you enough to get by until the next time you invoice a hard earned contract! This way they can sit on your money for 30 days! Yup 30 days. You ppl should be ashamed! If you have any questions about my review, come to McDonald’s. I’ll be there with my kids eating because our funds are on hold. You should give the customer service agent who talked to me last time a raise for telling me just enough. Then you should fire the last one because if it wouldn’t have been for me being honest & letting her know the rules you may of had a lawsuit on your hands...

PayPal offers hidden value🧐. It works perfectly. Yes you pay a fee per transaction, duh welcome to the working world. Super easy to set up. You do not need to pay for a swiper as the app does take cards manually. But the readers are inexpensive and customers love it. The app has everything you need to work remotely. Okay all that is neat, I really appreciate the invoice options. It’s so clean and professional. My clients love the proof of purchase. They also have a great credit card option. It’s crazy easy. They offer a bunch of business resources as well👍

Terrible! Do not sign up!. I’ve had a PayPal account for 20 years decided to sign up for a business account using PayPal here. First charge of 800 was held and my account closed! I refunded the client and PayPal tried to withdraw it from my checking account instead of using the funds they were holding! I called PayPal they told me to call my bank and report the transaction as fraud because they couldn’t do anything about it. I called my bank and did just that. PayPal is still holding the funds said they will hold it for 180 days! My client still hasn’t been refunded. Ridiculous customer service! No explanation why my account was closed. I have a legitimate business with all licensing and ID but yes close my account for no reason but let all those scammers in Nigeria operate an account to scam everyone...way to go PayPal! Useless company!

User for 18 years. I have to say prior to this year I had been singing praises to PayPal overall for 18 years (that’s how long I have used the company) as I rarely had any issues. This year for some reason the apps (I use 2) both seem to “forget” my password and I have had to change it over 10 times in less than a month to log into my account! It has also been telling me my account catalog is “unavailable” for over a month. Like most things I know it has updated and changed over the years but it really isn’t as user friendly as it once was. That all being said I plan to stick with it til next year in hopes the “bugs” get worked out.

Great app, Card reader is meh. I like the app a lot, especially that when I create catalog items they show up across all devices that log in. Being able to see a lot of transaction details and metrics on the app is better and more informative than the browser site, which is puzzling to me. One drawback on the app is that it had difficulty completing sales using the Venmo option. The card reader on the other hand keeps going to sleep every 10-15 minutes and then I have to reconnect it manually. Not good performance during craft fairs making customers wait.

Very Good. Easy to use. Card reader works well. It’s nice to have the chip reader. I haven’t yet, but it’s possible to authorize other users than yourself. It’s great for record keeping because you can add cash or check sales. Easy to send receipts immediately via email, text, or print. I can transfer my money to my account and have it the next day or leave it in Paypal and work from there. I’ve used a variety of systems and switching to another is killer because automatic withdrawals etc. are lost until customer is contacted and payment information updated. I can use PayPal and Paypal here and never go through that switching again. Paypal Here is portable if I need it and the small reader is lightweight, can be carried in a wallet or purse without extra bags. Reports are easy to access, understand, and print from my phone for super easy monthly record keeping. Or I can access at the end of the year. It’s great!

Never here. For more than one year I keep gettin the almost here message... What a disappointment... With squareup available in Canada and stripe coming in I'm glad someone is finally challenging paypal's dominance of Canadian online payments!

Not available in Canada!. Why is this in the Canadian App Store if it cannot be used in Canada? Don't waste your time with this app.

Not available in Canada?. Not available in Canada yet :(

Not working. Installed, log in PayPal, setting up device for ever.

Still not available. Does not work in Canada??? I'm a merchant that wants to accept this as a payment option to my customer!!! Cmon canada get it together!!

In canada, app installed, NO READER. I've been with paypal since 2002, and use their service often to buy, sell, and use my PP debit/credit card. So I saw this app over a year ago, and downloaded it on my phone. I could not complete the install at that time because it was 'not yet in Canada'. So every once in a while I open it on the phone, and lo and behold, it installed. I was able to enter all my info, log in with my alternate email account (made special for accepting PP cc payments). I printed a test page from my wireless printer which worked immediately. I can add objects, set tip and tax amounts, etc. Alas, I never received a card reader though I requested it oh so long ago. Why would I want to pay 3.5% per transaction in order to manually key in a cc, when with the swipe-reader it is only 2.5%? And guess what? No link online, or way to order a reader. I could go down to the US and buy one at Staples lol. Guess what else? Customer service must be in DonthaveaclueIstan, because I wrote and told them I am in Canada, have the app installed and working, but just need a reader. And the CSR sends me instructions for how to dl the app and install it, request the reader while installing, and, oh yes, it ISN'T available in Canada yet. Well I find it hard to believe I'm the only person in Canada that DID get the app successfully!

Funcionamiento. Hola la aplicacion todavia no funciona para colombia. Por favor corregir para que sirva para colombia.

Weak !!!. Waited months for this service. Got an email today saying its ready to go just download the app. So I did and got a dead end screen. PayPal customer service says its going to be a few more months. Weak! Forget it. My business has moved on. I'm signed with Moneras now.

Useless after log in. Don’t download this! Once you login it tells to to download and switch PayPal Zezzle which is not even available in Canada yet. Can’t do anything in this app to get past this screen.

Good App. This is a good app; my only complaint is that it's not available for iPad. PLEASE make PayPal Here available for the iPad. A bigger screen means less strain on the eyes, easier to share what's on the screen with those around you; bigger screen enables you to see more without having to scroll up, down, right, or left. Not to mention the abundant of additional features that can be added to better enhance the app thus enhance user experience. Also it's great to have your apps on ALL your devices, especially when you might not have your iPhone with you or for the times the battery on your iPhone is dead, being used by someone else, lost or stolen. All in all there are many benefits to having the PayPal Here app available on the iPad.

Only for USA.. While PayPal is international, PayPal Here ONLY offers service in USA. I don't know why this app is available for sale in Canadian ITunes Store, when it can ONLY be used by US residents and the services are not available in Canada. Waste of time downloading it.

Original is better. The update has made this app more difficult to use. Typing in descriptions is tough on a iphone and you cannot see what you are typing when the field fills up. Really annoying.

Waste. What a waste of a download. Once you sign in the first screen say it won't work.

“Point”less Point of Sale. This app is nothing but a browser exclusively for the PayPal page. After logging in, it takes me to the PayPal home page with no instructions on what to do next. This app is a POS-Pointless Occupant of Storage. Also, it doesn’t work in Canada. I eagerly await the day this service becomes actually usable

Pay Pal Here. Not impressed with so far, keep getting a invalid region error will have to see what kind off support I get in resolving this error

Won't update once iOS6 is installed. Installed this app 6 months ago, never received the attachment to actually make it work, and now since upgrading to iOS6, it's constantly notifying me that there is an update. Only problem is that the "installation" constantly hangs, and I get an error message from iTunes that it has failed. Time to pull the plug on this useless piece of crap. "If" Paypal ever gets around to making it actually work, I "might" think about reinstalling it.

Clunky and Expensive. The Payfirma mobile payment app is waaaay better than this. The swiper is not great either. From a cost standpoint, it's very expensive if you're in Canada and since Paypal is a third party processor, you are beholden to them to get access to your funds.

useless app. doesn’t work on iPad properly, and doesn’t help you order hardware.. title pretty much says it all. Shopify and Square provide an actual proper iPad experience. Paypal? nope… FAIL.

'Almost Here' 6 months later. I give up. I wanted to use Here for its link to PayPal. Tired of being told its coming. When I originally signed up, there wasn't much else on the market for Canada. Now there are plenty. Sorry PayPal but you've dropped the ball.

not even available in canada??? why put it on app store?. just like everything paypal, this is another major fail. can't demo it, can't register, can't do anything with it! why would you bother putting it on the store if users can't even use it? so turned off!

Doesn’t work. After authenticating, it just shows a PayPal web page with nothing relating to PayPal Here. Can’t figure out what to do next.

I don’t like this app at all. I can’t even log in. Do not download

Use square instead!. It's not available in canada! Why put it on the app store

Canadian!!. We want this available in Canada please!!!!!

Paypal Here in Canada. Excellent, easy to use credit or cash payment application. I've used the swiped unit successfully as well. Even has a calculator integrated for tallying product sales, built in Sales Tax and even a discount option. Great application! Well done PayPal!

Squareup is available in Canada!!!. I have been waiting for MONTHS for this app to finally be available to me in my region. STILL no launch available to me. Ready to scrap the app since PayPal clearly jumped the gun in launching it to the masses even though they don't have it available to everyone yet. Shame on you, Paypal, and shame on iTunes for letting them launch it anyway. Updated November 1, 2012: today I deleted this app. Good riddance. Squareup is available in Canada now. It's ridiculously easy to set up and you can start using it almost instantly. They will also let you 'gift' up to five readers for $1 each in top of the free reader they will send you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, PayPal Here. Maybe it should be renamed to PayPal Where?

Buggy. While this has worked well for me in the past, EVERY card I tried to run yesterday was rejected. At first I thought it was the card, but after it kept happening it was clear that the problem was PayPal. I lost a lot of business yesterday. More than disappointed!!

No luck. I just get a screen that says it's not widely available. I'm in canada and the website says it's offered in canada. Also. None of the website links work

The app simply don't work. I tried using the app and every time I open it. It re-directs me to the "PayPal" app...

Garbage. I downloaded the app and purchased a card reader off of eBay. I opened the app and got a message that PayPal Here is not available everywhere. There was a link that said learn more but when I clicked it nothing happened. So this app is useless and I purchased a card reader for nothing.

Disappointing. Tells me not available in Canada when I try to start app :(((

Wait list. If its a wait list don't release it or this is fake app? I'm afraid cauz I already enter my acc and password.

PayPal There.... 'Cause it definitely ain't HERE! PayPal... Get it together! Merchants who are ready to pay your ridiculous sales percentages have been waiting to use this app for over a year! I've been a registered "wait-er" for that long! Gonna' try PayCanada or Square Register instead.

Paypal. I can connect in my paypal account but it freeze at the step when they say i can start taking payment it takes forever to load. Can you fix that! What i am suppose to do?!!

PayPal What?. I think they should rename it to PayPal There. Cause it ain't available HERE in Canada.

Junk. Don't get the app

Can't use yet. Says it's not available. Also, PayPal is a pretty terrible company when it comes to customer service, and the whole pulling funds from wiki leaks makes me want to never use this. Get Square instead.

Not available. Top lel.

Don't understand negative reviews.. Been using it for offsite events for over a year. Works great.

PayPal here not worth the download. This app really isn't useful unless your in the states. As a Canadian I have been waiting 3 plus years to use it, but PayPal Canada refuses to budge on it.

Horrible. PayPal sent me a swiper and welcome kit about six months ago. I finally had an opportunity to use it last week for an important day for my business and after swiping a customer's card and having them sign for it, it kept telling me payment not processed. Turns out PayPal Here isn't here in Canada yet. WHY DID YOU SEND ME A SWIPER THEN??

Not here... Yet. It doesn't seem to be available here, or very limited so almost useless. Deleting the app, using Square Register instead.

Dosent work unless you live in usa. Great bunch of hooha! I purchased the reader and went to the redeem site. Can only redeem with usa papypal account. Oh, then i figured out why it just trys to connect and never gets there.... It only works in the usa. Why not put that on your app "only works in usa" so people will stop getting ripped off by buying the reader and finding out it dosent work "anywhere" like you claim!

Read the Product Description First!!!. To those complaining about not being able to use this, if you read the product description first. Install the app and THEN PayPal will send you the attachment that goes with it. Before you bash too much wait until you receive the attachment. Remember processing payments is what PayPal does best, and remember patience is a virtue hard to come by in an instant gratification society.

Not Available in Canada. PayPal's FAQ states this service is available in Canada. The description of the app doesn't say otherwise. However, this notification is the only thing the app can do! Thanks for Your Interest We're sorry, PayPal Here isn't available in your country yet.

Can't register device. I really want to use that app as I would like to get funds in my Paypal account instead of Square, but I'm getting stuck on the "Registering device" screen. I've tried it on iPod Touch 5th Gen and iPad Mini with Retina display, but always get stuck at the same place. Please fix this as I really want to use this app!

Not good experience with PayPal! Try PayCanada Mobile payment is cheaper than anyone's. Hello I tried. 6 difference company there for I had to purchase 6 difference card reader but I end up getting charged almost %4 with hidden fee and minimum charges $40 from payfirma and paypal , go payment etc, I compared all of them with PayCanada mobile apps price! They are cheaper and I got free trial from them if I don't like it no cancellation fee. Which is good for small biz owners Good job paycanada , try them

canada?. pas de reader encore pour le canada :(

Not available in Canada. Don't make it available to download in Canada if the service isn't available in our region yet.

Devastating 🤮. This does not surprise me . I just spent 3 days and was cut off at least twice, resolved the problem to call back ten minutes later because I cannot log in or update my account. Changed password several times and again today after two cutoffs and three attempts managed to change my password and access my account but cannot do anything and get ‘’ PayPal cannot update as it was purchased or refunded by a different Apple ID. I Call back, and get a voice mail to call back as they are now ClOSED !!! 🤬👊🤮🤮🤢👹

Works great directly through my iPhone but not through a personal hotspot. I could not get consistent connectivity when connecting my iPad through my iPhone’s personal hotspot. I like having a big screen of the iPad but didn’t pay for the cellular iPad. I was hoping to use a personal hotspot through my iPhone, but there wasn’t good connectivity in that environment. However it worked flawlessly directly through my iPhone.

Easy. I had the basic pp swiper and it would take 5 or more swipes to read the card. This new chip/tap Bluetooth reader gives me the ability to use the chip which eliminates accidental disputes when the customer forgets they paid with their card. I also get more wow that’s cool comments from my customers with this setup. Only regret is not upgrading from the free swiper months sooner.

Good for off site sales. I’m very happy that we’re able to accept credit cards using PayPal when we’re on the road. We have events where people need to get tickets or pay for items and PayPal is easy to use on the spot. The chip reader must be purchased but it’s so worth it. You insert the card in the slot and people sign on your screen phone with their finger. Done. Money transfer is easy too.

No problems in 5 years. I have been using PayPal and/or PayPal card readers for 5 years. I am a health and safety instructor that travels so it’s a nice portable way to keep fees down for my client and still take cards for them. I have had no issues that have been major really. I have had a small issue with my reader but I called and it was fixed same day. I got new card reader next day. Would recommend to anyone and have.

Reader. Seems to be a pretty good program every now and then we have a few hiccups but it could be software of the phone I could be there the unit who knows but overall by 99% of the time it works Charge backs are not credible towards their company they charge a big fee and will not refund it even though we were not in the wrong

Awesomeness!. I have to admit it was a rocky beginning especially w/not so honest clients but it all worked out. I was going to switch from using PayPal but with the outstanding customer service & continued feedback & wall through during those first beginnings, I’ve since then decided to stay. You guys thus far are amazing!!! I only wish you all had an option with being my 1st Payment choice with Vagaro. Until, I’ll keep my fingers crossed, Thanks Again!💪🏾

Cash payments. The latest updates are terrible and create inefficiency through multiple added clicks for cash payments. Why in the world would you move cash to other payment options?! Do you conduct end user feedback sessions on prototypes before going to production??! At least add settings that will allow the removal of the options not used by the end user or the ability to sort them on what order to them in on the UI! And stop presenting the signature screen when signature and tips are turned OFF.

Multiple accounts. I’ve had no problem taking payments and paypal makes it easy to organize, but on the app you cannot flip between accounts. If your business model uses different emails /accounts for different services, you must log out and log back in with your other account instead of being about to switch accounts within the app. Highly annoying. This would be an easy adjustment and should be implemented.

Works good. I prefer to use paypal since its the most common payment system in our site category. Customers who buy our products are used to paypal being the checkout method. You can get a business debit from paypal and have access to funds immediately if needed, say for supplies and such. The competitors of paypal only roll over completed sales to your bank account every 2 days or so. Def recommend paypal to any small business who wants access to their funds at all times.

Overall Satisfactory. I have been using PayPal and the PayPal system for about 10 years. PayPal Here has generally worked pretty well for me. I no longer use the original card reader because my iPhone doesn’t have a jack but I just input the number manually and it’s fine. (I haven’t yet upgraded to the chip reader.) It also allows me to take payment over the phone. I’ve had no major problems with the app. I rely on PayPal as an important tool to process revenue.

Small business' best friend.. I own a heat air condition business and my customers always ask me do I accept cards and I always said no because the fees were too expensive. When PayPal here was introduced I decided to try it out. Now I encourage all customers to pay with their debit/credit cards because PayPal here is so convenient and cost effective. Now I never have to worry about bounced checks.

Works well for a high transaction fireworks business. So long as you got a cell tower close and can use your phone I highly recommend this app and PayPal for a small business. We've been using PayPal for several years and are able to except tens of thousands of dollars in a very short period of time and transfer immediately to our bank account without a hold.

Tipping screen. Everything is working smoothly, the only thing that I couldn’t solve is separated tipping screen. Tipping and signature are coming out at the same time which kills my tips because I need to tell the customers and show the tipping at the top when they are signing. I used to use another app which was with separated tipping and signature screen. That’s only problem I can see so far. I wish that would be solved soon.

Bad on so many levels.. Sold me a new card reader for a service that’s being replaced by a new service (zettle), not mentioned on the PayPal here card reader order site, that doesn’t support the old services card reader. To make it even worse this app gets stuck in an endless login loop that seems to be caused by the advertisement for the new service (tried on 3 different devices). Customer support seems to be all automated systems with no way to get a person for help or a return. You could have just redirected me to the zettle site and had a new customer instead you sold me useless junk.

Easy set up, quick money delivery. For the past year, I've found the app and card reader to be efficient and easy to use. I have had no connectivity issues with my iPhone and the card reader. Money is quickly delivered and instantly transferrable. I love the PayPal Card that accompanies the account to work directly from my biz acct. easy access to help desk compared to apps like Square.

Wish the item catalog worked. I was so excited to use PayPal here for my business. I was even more excited to enter all my items I sell in the item catalog to be able to access them quickly during a sale/transaction. However I went through and entered all my items in and when I logged out the were all gone?! I contacted support and was told to get the latest iOS update for my phone to prevent this glitch-which I did and the same thing happened even after I got the update. Very disappointing-I will be using a different app and company for my credit card transactions!

Love it!!!. PayPal here is fantastic. So easy to use. I love how I can list all my products and prices and not have to type out each sale. My customers appreciate the security of being able to use their credit card and not ever have it leave their sight. At the end of a day I can see all my sales and the total, helps with inventory and banking. It’s a great tool for any entrepreneur!

Love it (but fix the tipping sequence). I am new to PayPal POS, and I am very impressed with the setup including with the customer service. There are only two suggestions: 1/ the tipping option should be available to clients when they confirm the total (not before - I am missing out on tips), and 2/ I did not see an option to transfer the information of my existing client base (I may have overlooked this somewhere). It is nice to tie clients to a sale versus reentering all data.

This card reader not working with new kind of iPhones (XR,XS). New iPhones (like IPhone XR,XS) don’t have earphone jack,so that mean it’s no way to use this electronic device to reading CARD’s or to do any transactions.,maybe if company make some new kind new connector to connect with same input charger, like new kind earphones for XR,XS-models..earphones And what reason to use that device if they charge 2.7% from easy transaction if you can transfer or pay payments straight from account to account without this charge...

If you do high volume like salons don’t use!!. My reader broke I was left to key in cards.. in one day I had a chunk of money. They hold any money keyed in over $500 in a rolling 7 day period! So for the next 7 days they will hold my money made for 30 days!!!!! I will not see my money I made this week for a month!! Absurd. I will be going back with square. They never kept my money and it is the same percentage! My clients do not want to be bothered with invoicing. They want to pay and go! That was their solution was to invoice them but I would not be getting my money for 30 days for using their key in feature!!

Stopped Sending Invoices since last update!. There’s a feature in the app when you run a charge where you can invoice it, enter the person’s email and it will send the invoice. Now it looks like it’s sending the invoice but the transaction doesn’t clear the screen after sending the invoice like it would in past, and in the sales activity it says it sent the invoice but it’s not. Also the invoice doesn’t appear on paypal online. This feature used to work!!! Please fix it!!!

Mostly good but.... I use Acuity scheduling app for my business which is wonderful. PayPal doesn’t fully integrate with it or allow tips to be entered when people purchase services or packages online. Apparently Square does all this, so despite being pretty happy with PayPal, I’m considering changing over to Square. I do get my money transferred quickly and the app works nearly all the time. Lately, the Bluetooth reader is not being found reliably so I had to enter the card number which costs more in fees. If only PayPal would fully integrate into Acuity and allow tips then I’d be thrilled.

love it, but.... This app has always worked great for me, except the past month after an update. I used to be able to hand customers my phone to sign after I swiped their card to get them to sign. At that point they would have the option to tip. After the update, the only way to tip is by adding the tip in before you swipe their card. I don’t want to ask customers if they want to tip me before swiping their card! I miss handing my phone over and letting them do it discretely if they wanted to. Please go back to the way it was before!

Job well done. After getting out of the rent a terminal syndrome I have been very pleased with my relationship with pay pal. I use a I phone 10 and have used apple products now for years with very few problems .I like the fact that I get 1% each month. Also when there has been a terminal problem they were quick to resolve the issue. I recommend this app regularly when questioned by my clients about its service. A quick and convenient processing option.

Great option for our small restaurant.. We’ve been using PayPal Here since March. There have been no issues with receiving payments in a timely manner, and the rates are comparable to or better than other options. There gave been a couple minor issues with the technology, but that can be said for all such devices. My only ask is that there be a way for customers to add gratuity to emailed invoices. That would be a great thing!

Product support. I have called 3 times for the same issue. I am no longer able to key in credit cards. Product support does not follow up an my issue is not resolved. I have had good service for several years. Now I can’t use pay pal and it is time to change companies. This nick name request is another negative. I just want to have this problem fixed and not just make another problem! Ok so I have tried 5 nicknames. Luz3 really! That name is taken? Please!

Wish we had this update a month ago!. We just finished a 90 day US tour crossing the country twice on a new product launch tour. We processed hundreds of transactions each night at each of the 79 stops, and loved having 6+ chip readers on hand over simple swipes. But..our biggest complaints with the app was: 1. With the PayPal Here app offering receipts.. there was no way for the customer to CHANGE the email or txt number on file! With the chip reader & app: 2. The Bluetooth connection would occasionally disconnect (as in sleep mode), and we had to reestablish the connection manually! 3. Then randomly the “Checking Security” or firmware update notices would come up on locking the unit.. and seem to take minutes of valuable time! I sure hope this update helps going forward!!

Convenient and easy to use!!!. We’ve been using this AP for 3 years and it was easy to set up, works perfectly so long as the card reader is charged and you have a strong mobile connection. Even if you don’t though it still works pretty good, maybe not as fast but not slow by any means. We also love the size of the card reader and the ease of it being connected directly to our PayPal account.

Trust worthy. Being only occasionally users we never have had a problem when we purchase merchandise and we can use PayPal for payment that is the option we choose. Every transaction has been processed quickly and correctly. We cannot ask for more than that.

***** Don’t download this app if you want your money sooner***. Don’t download this app if you want your money sooner than 30 days. I signed up for this service 2 days ago and ran 8 transactions. 1. They won’t release the funds for 30 days 2. They stopped me from making transactions after $500 and didn’t tell me. I called customer service and he said I wasn’t allowed to make over $500 for the week. What kinda business makes $500 a week and is ok with that??? Waste of time is what this app is! Spoke to a supervisor and he was a ton of help.....NOT!!! I pressed one on the phone for English I spoke it.. he didn’t.... which made it more frustrating.

It’s a safer way to use your credit cards or bank account online. We love PayPal. I don’t like sending our credit card information over the Internet, so I use PayPal for all my online transactions. I list my credit card with PayPal only once. When I order something online, PayPal pays that company for me and then they bill my card. It’s a safe way to pay your online bills. I highly recommend them. Thanks.

Better than Square!!!. First off, who’s been around longer? PayPal! Who’s been handling credit card processing longer? PayPal! I was able to sign up receive a wireless card reader and chip reader in under 10 minutes! Approved and took my first transaction as an independent contractor in under 10 minutes! Instant transfers to your credit card. Square you have to wait over three days just to get approved

Please fix this!. When I first found PayPal Here, it was a lifesaver and I’ve used it for years. In the last few weeks, however, I can’t even get the login screen to come up. I click on the app, wait for it to load, but the login screen never appears. It’s like it just freezes up. The only way I’ve found around this is by deleting the app off of my phone and downloading it all over again. Once I do that, it seems fine for a few hours, but some days I have to do this twice. This is EXTREMELY frustrating and very inconvenient when it happens with a customer standing there trying to pay. I am using an iPhone XR and everything has been updated. I hope this issue gets resolved soon.

PayPal here. Has been a godsend. I have been using this for 5 years now. We live in the sticks in the middle of funky service. I have used it at two fireworks businesses and again with my min business year round. It is easy enough to teach any employee and easy to use. They say they are going to stop it’s availability on April 3. If it is working why stop it. I will loose about 30 customers. They have already told me. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Great Service. I have been using PayPal for over well over 10 years now and never have any serious problems that could not be solved with one phone call. The customer service is great and just the fact that I can get someone on the phone is a plus. I like what you are doing keep up the good work and I’m looking forward for the new update. Great for our (very) small business. We work numerous fairs and the APP has been great. We looked into credit card processing through banks and the cost was prohibitive. The fee is low and we get our money quickly. Because of PayPal we were able to start selling through our website as well. Never had any issues using the APP or the plug in reader. Don’t have the Bluetooth reader.

Very sad to see it go. I just found out today that the app will stop working after April 3rd, 2023. I’ve used this free app since it was created. I used it to charge customers credit cards for my side gigs. Now, I will have to find another app. I never had issues with the app. It still have the magnetic card reader that I used in the headphone jack when iPhones had them. Thumbs up all the way.

Gratuity placement is losing me money left and right!. All the coffee shops that have ipad checkouts now display tips right above the signature line. It is not proper etiquette to ask clients to add a tip BEFORE swiping their card. They have to feel at ease to do it at the end of the transaction. Why is it so difficult for PayPal to get with the program and correct this mistake? There are several comments just like mine from months ago and still no solution. I’m considering going with a different vendor just to rectify this problem for myself.

They started hurting small businesses. I am very disappointed with PayPal’s new policy. They are not refunding the processing fee and it is killing small business. I was surprised PayPal wanted me to screw my customers by passing on this fee to them. Luckily there are many other credit card processors around and we don’t need to take this kind of crooked business. I know for a fact there is no way a company like Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s who takes PayPal returns would not pay this fee - so I wonder what special policy these big businesses are privileged enough to have but we mean nothing. It is a shame !! I hope other businesses catch on and boycott as well.

Fantastic. We are a small business that uses this for our point of sale system in our store. Coupled with a chip reader for transactions its an amazing cost alternative to the expensive banking systems offered. Keying cards not recommended because of the occasional 30 day hold on large $ transactions; but for the chip transactions its perfect! Transfer times are short even instant transfer is avail and theres always a rep when you call the number. Love it

ETA Transportation. I am completely satisfy with the Touch Less Card Reader. PayPal is the way to go. 2 things one must do: 1. Go to settings and set up your device accordingly or call PayPal they will assist you to finalize this process which is very easy 2. Make you have GOOD Connection, press your blue tooth key to link your card reader with you phone when you see the # key paper tap on it then do your thing and get pay. It’s a good product. 👌

Card reader. Still can’t use the chip card reader I had to buy. And it won’t hold a charge anyway. Entering the card # costs me more. I think, fortunately, I can use the old card reader since I got an adapter for my new phone. At our market Saturday, people could Venmo $$ to my account - with no charges - for small purchases. We sell mostly small cost items and the PayPal charge is too high anyway for a $5 bar of soap or a $5 jar of jelly. I liked using the card reader before but this new chip reading device just isn’t cutting it. My phone won’t even recognize it now. Grr.

Still needs some work. There’s a few concerns; it was a terrible idea to shift the tipping option to before swiping the credit card. And It seems that the app is struggling to make a connection with the card reader every time before a transaction. One last thing, why in the world would you not add a tipping option in your invoices? The customer should have the option of adding a tip while paying an invoice. I love PayPal and general, but I believe you guys need to be forward thinking and spend a bit a time on “PayPal here”creating new and improved features.

I love PayPal. I run a small business in a brick and mortar location and I use my chip reader for every transaction. I can barely get enough cell phone service in my building to check my E-mail but I have never had any connectivity issues with my app or reader. Great product, app, and banking service! I also love paying my bills with my PayPal business card and receiving cash back. What’s not to love?!

Pay Pal Review. I have used PayPal Services for personal purchases. Through credit and debit. I’ve given PayPal my Debit Account to use for payments. Pay Pal gave me a credit account card number to use, but it doesn’t work. I changed my password, they approved. Unfortunately; they don’t accept my requst for payments anymore. I requested copies of payments requested through scam Email address messages, but were denied. I still like Pay Pal Business, but the service is not up to par?

10 years w/PayPal 🙂. I’ve been with PayPal for 10 years started using it as a business application, this year, with the chip and slide card reader cost me about $79. I love the accounting capacity. I love that I can go to my PayPal account and see exactly where money has come and gone. That part of accounting is fabulous. I can see exactly when my deposits are made which usually is in my business account within one day. I’m satisfied.

Customer Support would rather just not. I’ve used the app for years, with and without a card reader, but lately, it has stopped reporting any activity on my phone. On my computer it is complete, but the phone only shows a correct balance. Attempted contact with “customer-we’re-too-busy” team yielded several non response ...followed by “they say you have a very old version of the app. ...” No further info. I’ve searched for updates, I’ve deleted and reloaded ... all to no avail, and no further info from PayPal. The app still accepts payments ... and is functional on my desktop... but the point was “mobile” Too bad about the tech team and the the “we’re too busy for customers” team ... Ahhhh... a revision After nearly a year of the above description, seems some recent update fixed the problem ‘they never had’ sales activity shows up, now.

Much better than Square. PayPal’s app for taking credit card payments is easy to use, reliable, and when it comes to looking up sales for past customers it is Far More User-Friendly than Square. So glad I switched! Money transfers to my bank usually take only 1 business day so there’s very little lag in getting my cash flowing. (Plus they offer an Instant Transfer that I’ve never needed to use). Very happy using this.

Makes sales easy but.... I love the app and it's ease of use. But there are a few things that could be added that would make a huge impact for someone like me with a mobile business. I would love to be able to plug in my inventory numbers and keep track of it within the app. And as I'm selling it subtracts from my inventory. I'd also like to see a sales chart of my inventory; which items sold better than others that particular day.

3 year business owner. I have been using PayPal for my mobile business for the past 3 years and I absolutely LOVE the way it works. It's a safe and secure way to do money transactions, I think the fee should be monthly and not per transaction, but at least they don't charge to transfer the funds into your bank account. I will continue to use PayPal and pray that they come out with a PayPal pay tablet or device that's handheld and you can take it with you on the go.
