Genius idea... great concept, just needs a small tweak!. Genius idea... great concept. Just needs a bit of tweaking for a more seamless during arrival and departure. My experience was at the Pullman Miami Airport Hotel in Miami, FL. The customer-facing app interface is great. You record all the information the hotel needs to collect upon arrival. But, they (at least this hotel didn't) don't gain access to this information. It just happens that there was a huge line at t he front desk checking in when we arrived to park at the hotel. We had to wait in this line for 20 minutes when we're trying to make the hotels shuttle for a ride to the airport. It'd be great if the hotels had a hotel-facing app interface showing all the info they need to collect so we don't have to wait in their line and then fill out a paper copy of some form... with all the info the app already has. Make the arrival and departure as seamless and paperless as possible, that'd make your app stellar!

Best way to Park in the big city. I'm in NYC this is THE BEST!!! I hate apps and websites the take forever to setup. This was smooth and easy. Worked first try. I've used it close to 10 times now and trust it enough to pay in advance. It's great! I get better prices to park for 8-12 hours anywhere in NYC. I can see an outside picture of the parking lot and decide if I want to park my car there. If I do, I pay, and have a reservation so I have a spot when I get there. The biggest problem with NYC parking is getting there ontime. The 'Early bird special' if you miss that your screwed. And most garages end that at 9-10am. This app solved that problem for me. I can get there whenever I want and am still paying $10-30 less each time. Update: you have to read the restrictions of the parking garage on the app. I’ve had a garage charge me the difference between the $21 I paid through this app to their regular price $65, because I came in AFTER their early bird special! Tricky and greedy. So here we have a great idea, AND it works!!!

Do not use this app for parking. I recently went on a trip and used spot hero to reserve a spot in a garage. Originally we were going to take my car but later we decided to take another vehicle. The “great” thing about the app is you’re supposed to be able to update your license plate number in situations like this and that’s exactly what I did. The app even said my “reservation was successfully updated”. I get to my destination and park and ended up getting booted anyways and had to pay $160 to have it removed. The workers in the garage said “never to use Spothero for parking because they never update the system ESPECIALLY when you want to change the license plate number.” She also explained to me that this is a very frequent thing that happens and to always pay directly at the garage. When I called customer service they said they can’t refund me because it was a valid boot due to the fact “it was the wrong plate in their system”. Save yourself trouble and money and just pay directly at the garage.

Happy Chicago Customer. I've been using the app for a few years now and have been very happy so far. I've found cheaper alternatives to other parking options for many places using this app. Locating a garage is quick and easy, and the intergration with ApplePay makes the transaction simple. One word of advice, since they added intergration with calendar events, it's important to check the start and end times to make certain your desired time frame is covered. It's easy to edit the default entry/exit time, and it's easy to dismiss that feature and just book parking as you would normally. I've been able to change entry and exit times after my initial reservation when needed, and not had a problem so far.

Lack of consumer protection!. I went to NYC with my fam and use the app to book parking for 4 days, little did I know that the parking spot/valet (415 w 45th st) are scammer, rude and tries to extort more money. I had to go to different app (google) which is too late for me to check the reviews cuz I already parked and was extorted with more money ( I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO GET MY CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE); it’s all the same bad experience from the customer of spothero (putting reviews in google app?! Yes people have to go to google to put the reviews). THIS APP DOESNT HAVE REVIEWS on the garages/parking spot that could have guide other customer and which could also be they’re guide to protect the customer to give warning and remove those tricky and abusive garages! Btw, I checked the app again and it showed some star rating now which I dont know where it came from because it wouldnt even let me rate the garage that I booked and had the super bad experience to deal with the garage/valet parking. (And im pretty sure the garage/valet parking that i booked wouldnt get a “4.6 star”, checked google, yelp etc… for the review of the garage, wouldnt match at all!)

Not worth it!. We paid $18 for a garage in downtown Philadelphia in order to avoid the haste of finding street parking. We arrived at the garage and they turned us away because we didn’t purchase through them directly and they were full. I showed that my receipt with SpotHero and they told me that they won’t honor it since they were full despite me booking it the day prior. Got out to talk to the guy and he told me to be careful the app because it solicits places that are not actually available, like the one I had picked and paid for. EXTREMELY upset and will NEVER use spothero again. I ended up being late to my broadway and having to pay a ridiculous amount for parking. Worst app ever. Update: called into spothero and was helped by a girl named Emily. Emily was extremely helpful and not only refunded my $18 but also for the parking I had to pay for on top of the $18. She was very apologetic and made right of the situation. Changed my 1 star to a 3 Star for the excellent customer service I received. still a little hesitant to use the app, but they definitely made right of the situation.

App is great, customer service is not. The app is pretty easy to use, so that’s the only reason this rating has more than one star. The company claims “we guarantee you will have a spot to park in, at the price you paid, or your money back”. That is not the case, in my experience. I had a three day trip to Minneapolis, and booked three spots in the same parking garage. Each night I was charged additional before the garage would let me leave. I attempted to call customer service, got an automated “we understand your situation might be an emergency” message, and then the line disconnected. I submitted an “email” but they limit the characters that can be included to get that claim process started. I had to reply to two separate emails to get any kind of response, as the first email thread got zero response after I submitted photos as evidence for being charged by the garage. Then, after someone replied and said I would get credit through the app (which is NOT money back), I replied saying that was not what they promised through their money back guarantee, and have heard nothing since. (I am in contact with my bank about the charges because this is ridiculous.) I would only ever recommend this app/company to someone as a last resort.

Terrible Service and App. Visiting Chicago and wanted to go to Shedd Aquarium, but we were worried about Parking downtown. I searched for parking online and came across SpotHero. I was super excited and paid $17 for 6 hours of parking in a garage about a mile from the aquarium. We get there, and there are 0 spots available, not only are there no spots available, but the garage is so overbooked that there are 7 other cars who also booked on SpotHero looking for spots. Keep in mind this is a very small garage. So we all get boxed in at the end/top of the garage and cars are having to reverse down to try and turn around. When we finally got to the bottom we had to wait 10 minutes to get out as the gate wouldn’t open without a ticket and there wasn’t an attendant answering the phone. Now all of that isn’t the end of the world. I assumed that if I messaged SpotHero they would refund my card and no harm no foul. I was wrong. I messaged them immediately, they have since sent me several advertisement emails telling me how SpotHero “has my back”, but have yet to actually respond to my open ticket(it’s been a week). I filed a dispute with my credit card to have the charge removed. I will never use this app again and hope this review will help others avoid the same pitfall.

Essential app for people who travel or live in a big city. I fly monthly for work and use this app to reserve parking at nearby hotels and use their free shuttle service. It's saved me a lot of money from not having to Uber, use airport parking, etc. Every time I've used this for airport parking it's been Great but always a little confusing when you first arrive at the hotel and need to figure out exactly where to go/what to do. The savings makes up for it. My last experience was extremely unpleasant though. I used the app to find parking for a restaurant in downtown Toronto. It was fine getting in but once the lot filled, with two rows on both sides of the lot it becomes to tight we weren't able to pull out. We had to go in the restaurant and on the p.a ask other drivers to come out and move cars around. This wasn't because of a bad parker but the lot size isn't made for that many cars. I wish you could leave reviews because this was a 2 hour ordeal and unacceptable. The app shows a average star rating but no way to actually write a review?

Could be frustrating if you are unlucky but customer service made it right at the end. I booked a parking spot and when we entered there was no empty spot inside, no attendant so no one could help us and it charged us $100 (only 10 minutes from in and out trying to find a spot) to get out before being able to reach Spothero on the phone. The parking facility was a suspicious scam at the first place. Spot hero did end up finding us a spot for that day and told us to send receipt of being charged $100, they reimbursed us credit after 10 days and I appreciate that. All in all Spot hero is a good app and I’ve had other bookings which didn’t result in any problem. I would be careful in picking lots and I suggest letting users rate the parking lots would be a good way to set up a trust system.

Don’t Forget About (My Reservation). Everything was working fine until my usual garage got full, and had to book at another garage. The reservation I made let me get into the facility. But when I went to leave, the reservation disappeared from the app and I could not get out automatically. Happened at two separate facilities. Called the app help line, but it was after hours, so I got a voicemail. Had to pay full price to get out at the first garage, and at the second, an attendant was able to help look up my order and let me out. Not a good look. Edit: As a response to the developer, I have reached out to your customer service folk each time I have had an issue, but they have been unable to help in any substantive way. I have mentioned this issue to them, but it seems that went nowhere. As for account settings, I did not create an account because I am able to pay for parking using Apple Pay. If you require an account to maintain consistent order tracking, I suggest making that mandatory in the app. I have switched to a competitor app and I am no longer experiencing these problems, even without an account.

Book with Caution. I made a parking reservation on the app and found out the lot was full upon arrival. What is the point in making a “reservation” if they don’t guarantee it? I was pressed for time and I couldn’t find a place to pull over in the area (downtown during rush hour) to call the company. I ended up finding another lot on my own that was $3 more. I was annoyed but prepared to simply request a refund through the app but they don’t give you that option. You need to call or email the company for a refund. I called and spoke with a rep who then emailed me and instructed to send pics of my receipt at the other parking lot. I did so and respectfully expressed my displeasure at the whole process. I sent another email the following day to check on the refund status and heard nothing. I called the company again today since it had been a few days and was immediately refunded and given a $10 credit which I’m not sure I’ll even use. Overall, it’s been a big waste of time and the first person I dealt with failed on customer service.

Terrible app. I used this dumpster fire of an app once to get parking in Philly. I pulled up to the lot the spot was in and saw on their sign that their price was about $3 less than what I paid. Mildly annoying but I thought “hey I’m not gonna let a few bucks ruin my night.” So I pull up and the attendant parks my car. I’m walking out and I (thank god) over hear someone else saying to their friend “well they close at 11 so I guess we’ll just move the car then and go back.” Since my reservation was past 11 I spoke to the attendant again. He told me that the lot “closed at 11” but he was “planning to leave by 10:30” and according to him any car left in the lot after that is moved to a “secured location” for the night. Now I understand some of this isn’t particularly spot hero’s fault. But they clearly allow reservations to be booked in spots without having a system in place to check if that reservations actually possible. They also allow for parking in some sketchy spots. This app is a neat concept but there’s definitely bugs to be worked out. Also they spamf@&k your inbox like crazy. So def use a secondary email to sign up.

Great Deals + Excellent Service = Happy Customer. I’ve used Spot Hero for a few years by now. Have always found great deals in NYC. Last night, it was my first time using it at Philadelphia Airpot... My flight to Atlanta was cancelled at 1am after it was postponed four times between 7pm and midnight, and I missed a wedding. Imagine my frustration, disappointments and exhaustion when I remembered I had purchased a parking spot for two days even though I only parked there for four hours or so. I reached out to Customer Service. They explained that they couldn’t make the partial adjustments on my bill as requested, because the best (and only) way to change the reservation is to do it on the app or the website. Instead, they decided to refund me the entire amount AND give me a $5 credit for my next trip. As disappointing as it was to have missed a wedding, Spot Hero has made my day a lot better.

Stand Behind Their Reservations. Great way to comparison shop parking garages. That being said occasionally I’ve had issues with the lowest priced garage. Yesterday, I arrived at my reservation and the garage wouldn’t honor it and said they were full. Called SpotHero, they picked up right away and had me booked into a nearby garage in less than 5 minutes BUT that garage was also full and wouldn’t take my car. At this point I was late for my appointment and didn’t have time to walk to my destination. SpotHero immediately, without blinking, got me a spot in the exorbitant garage next door to where I was going that I would never have paid for myself and ate the cost. Nice to have a business stand behind their product and take care of their customers.

Inconvenient and stressful!. I frequently use Spot Hero to find deals and have had an overall positive experience. Today I used the app to reserve a spot from 9:30-5:00 - I commute over an hour to the city so it’s always TBD on my exact ETA. I arrived at the garage for my reservation and entered at 9:25. Given Chicago traffic I didn’t want to risk doing a lap around the block and being late. I ended up extending my reservation for an extra $2 till 5:30. When I went to exit, the garage requested I pay $5 for entering early. I called Spot hero and they were unable to revise my reservation which is inconvenient. I also learned the increments of time for reservations are 30 mins, which doesn’t allow for a ton of wiggle room. Spot hero asked me to submit my receipt for the additional payment for review and possible reimbursement. The garage receipt printer didn’t work, so I was left with no receipt. What was suppose to be a stress free situation ended up ruining my evening. Spot Hero should figure out a way to accommodate customers and not punish us for arriving 5 minutes early!!! Unreal. Considering using park whiz moving forward.

Updated: Charged twice and offered a $5 credit instead of a Refund. I was booking a spot in Boston. After entering my credit card information and attempting to reserve the spot, the app stated it had run into an error. I checked my card, and there was no pending charge. I checked my email and there was no confirmation. I assumed the reservation did not go through as the app had said it had encountered a problem. I rebooked the spot without issue. I confined monitoring my card for the next two days, but only ever saw one pending charge, so I thought all was good. When I returned home from the trip and was rallying up my expenses, I suddenly found SpotHero had charged me the $70 twice. I quickly called customer service who said they did see the duplicate reservation, placed all of 7 minutes apart. Instead of a refund however, I was told it was my fault for not reaching out to customer service immediately and the most they could do for me was offer a $5 credit. Spot Hero literally stole $70 from me, blamed their App’s issue on me, and then offered me $5. I asked to speak to a manager and was informed none were available but they would call me back. I of course have never received a call back. After jumping through several hoops and waiting many days, I was eventually refunded to my original payment method. All said and done, it’s cheaper and easier to just find a parking garage and pay them directly. Will not be using SpotHero again after the hassle.

They work with tow company’s to rip you off in the kindest way. I have been using spot hero for years and it seems I keep running into the same issues over and over again. I will select the time closest to when I arrive ex9:55 am I get to the parking lot I book for 10 am and Leave my car by 10. I select the correct time and exit time. I place book and double check. Still is correct. I check again after finding out my car was towed it moved my reservation to noon, the tow company acknowledge that is was an issues that happens to their towed cars a lot. I got lucky a few times as I knew the lot manager and they were kind enough to either call or let me know instead of towing. This issues has happened over and over again multiple times, each time no resolution , just “we will look at the tech side” it’s beyond frustrating and has cost me more money than I’ve saved in my time with this app from paying the fees at garages for “incorrect parking time” yet the app shows proper time at time of booking and payment only later to show a different time. This app has cost me money, caused me to be stuck in a garage trying to figure out why the parking ticket I used to get in won’t work on the way out, having to pay a lot attendant for the same reasons. I’d recommend using the meters as this app does not save time and money

Overfilled lots, but superb customer service. We booked a monthly spot in the Bronx, but upon showing up were told that they wouldn’t honor our reservation because they didn’t actually have any monthly parking spots available-we had been sold a spot that didn’t exist in a full lot! The manager said this happens frequently with SpotHero and refused to offer any assistance. We paid for overnight parking and I called SpotHero the next morning to complain. They were very concerned and took all the information down, refunded me the amount we paid to park overnight, and paid the difference for me to park in another parking lot nearby (over $100 difference in the monthly parking price-very generous). I did ask the representative to call the parking lot first and make sure the monthly spot actually existed this time. They did so and took great care of us, but even so I would be very cautious in using this app. Three stars for GREAT customer service, but questionable availability issues.

Awesome App and Customer Service. I cannot say enough good things about Spot Hero. Not only is the app easy to use, it takes the worry of the cost and accessibility of parking away. It makes the process so much smoother and more pleasant. I live outside NYC and have used it many times there but I have used it in other cities as well. Recently, the garage I had arranged for was inaccessible due to street closures. I was late for work and didn’t have time to call Spot Hero to make other arrangements so I just pulled into another garage and paid almost 3 times as much. I knew that if I called Spot Hero I would get my original payment refunded. When I finally had a chance to call, they refunded my original payment and when I provided a receipt, gave me a credit for the additional cost of the parking garage that I wound up using. Hard to find such good customer service these days and it has made me a loyal customer who will recommend them to anyone who will listen.

Terrible customer service not thinking about the customer. Beware - what time you are parking and if the garage/lot is really open as the app is misleading. I called spothero to report an issue that the app allowed parking to be reserved in a garage which was actually closed for entry during the start time of the reservation. The issue is that I was telling the customer rep that this is a suggestion to improve the app experience for customers by not listing garages/lots that are closed during that time and the rep was just not willing to listen. She constantly said we cannot know what the customers needs are so the customer has to look into the details. SERIOUSLY??? At this day and age you have an app that is way behind the game and when a customer is giving a feedback you actually have the nerve to answer this way? If you record your phone calls, please go and listen to this conversation. I am willing to be contacted to again share my suggestion to improve the app for better customer experience for future.

Going downhill, they are fleecing customers bkw. Been a spothero user for years. Always enjoyed it. Recently they've stopped providing good customer service when pretty much anything happens. Now they'll steal your unused reservation fee if something happens and you don't cancel before the window. It seems like they've stopped giving refunds for pretty much anything and are just offering $5 credits now. Shame. There's little benefit to using Spothero anymore with their new "all sales final" policy. See the recent reviews - multiple cases of this. Just use another app or pay at the garage until Spothero rights the sinking ship. And for the “developer response” - that’s just the same PR blurb they copy and paste everywhere. I got the same from their “heroes” - they all hide behind it instead of addressing customer issues. There is no confusion - just a big company that used to be great, now stealing from customers because they can. Shameful.

Fullmercityguru. App is great! One problem I had was finding the parking garage because they had an incorrect address transposition when using Apple maps to navigate. It took us a whole 30 extra mins to find the place, cutting into the parking time I had already prepaid for. We drove around and around and couldn’t find 415 S Financial St Chicago, IL. We found a “425” and double checked our apple maps and it said 415. Then I checked my parking pass. It said 425. So we did end up getting parked at the right place. But 30 minutes or so late. That frustrated me. So I experimented using Google maps to navigate from the Spot who app. It was a longitude latitude drop pin right in the middle of the garage. The entrance of was of course not smack in the middle of the garage. 415 s financial isn’t even a PO address in Chicago. But 425. Poor app development when transposing you to Google or Apple maps. If you have Waze, this does work.

Glitchy. I normally really like this app, however after the latest glitch and how it was handled, I doubt I will use this again. I attempted to purchase a landing spot, and got an error message telling me to try booking again. I tried 3 more times with the same error message. The next day, I woke up to 4 chargers in my card, but nothing under my reservations nor any email confirmations. I calle customer care, and the rep that helped me said we can look into “possibly refunding”…no… you will refund me lol. And refund takes up to 5-7 business days and only offered me $5 spot hero credit as an “im sorry”. I argued that this should equate to the parking fee I was trying to reserve for in the error, but the supervisor disagreed. No empathy. And they did refund me luckily, but won’t see that money for a while 1.5 weeks 🙃 be warned

Scam!!!. We used Spot Hero for the first time in NYC over the holidays. Made a reservation in midtown. When we got to the garage, they told me they were full and would not honor my reservation. Spot Hero had already charged my credit card for two nights for approximately $80 ($40 per night). I contacted them and they told me to find another garage. They would reimburse me the difference. I ended up using the valet at the hotel and paid $60 per night ($120 total). I sent them the receipt. Since they had already charged me $80. I expected them to reimburse me $120. Of course not! Instead, they credited my card the $80 and said they would apply the additional $40 to a future parking reservation. I will never see the $40 because I will never use them again. They lied to me about the reimbursement. I don’t deal with dishonest vendors. If they charge your card at the time you make a reservation, you expect the reservation to be honored. What’s the point, especially in midtown Manhattan. Thank you for the canned, uninspiring, and uncaring response to my review. I’m sure your response was truly sincere and heartfelt (not!)

The System was broken at the garage so I had to pay out of pocket and never got refunded.. I parked in a garage I had parked at a few times before using SpotHero, but this time when I went to leave the meter was broken and wouldn’t scan. I tried calling customer service and was on hold for 30 minutes with no answer tried three more times with no luck and needed to leave so I figured I’d photograph everything and get refunded. Paid the $25 for lost ticket and submitted my claim to SpotHero. I get passed around between representatives for months trying to explain the situation and starting over and over with no luck. They credit me $15 and I say no I don’t want credit I don’t use this app more than once a year and they say ok cool we will refund you. Instead I get another new person who says you’ve been credited and I explained yet again no please I don’t want credit. At this point I knew I was never getting my $25 back again and figured this is some weird thing they do. Even though it says if a problem is with their machines you get refunded the cost. Overall the customer service was appalling, the system they use is bugged, and you will never get refund if you have to pay out of your own pocket.

Parking full. Unfortunately my experience was bad, I chose my spot, paid for it and when I arrived it was full, the guy in there just kicked me out the parking lot, and said I had to apply for a refund, which I did, customer is very good and they promptly tried to help me and issued a refund, thats the reason of my second star. The thing is, they said to me that in case of a full parking lot i could call them for reallocation, this seems nice in theory, but in real life thats a nightmare. It is you trying to call them, while a guy kicks you out from his parking and cars honking behind you, and you have nowhere else to park. So as advertised that you GUARANTEE your parking by paying in advance is a lie, you don’t guarantee anything, it’s a shot in the dark and if you fail to park, you will be screwed to find someplace else, because you will be unable to search on spot hero or call anyone because you will have to be driving. Bottomline: you are best trying to find street parking for free by the residential areas of NYC, it’s hard but you don't have to go through this nightmare that I did.

Seems like a scam!. We reserved a parking spot through Spot Hero for a Rockies Baseball game in downtown Denver. Not being from Denver, we had to use our navigation app to get us to the parking lot. The address that I imputed into our navigation took us to a spot where there was a large building with no parking lot to be found. Thinking I made a mistake in putting in the address into our navigation, I tried again, nope, I imputed it correctly the first time. We ended up having to find another parking lot and paid more money. Here is the first kicker, I tried contacting Spot Hero off their contact page for a refund the moment we got parked in our new parking lot. Their contact page claims that they will respond within 24 hours. I am on day 3 and have not heard a thing and still no refund. The second kicker, our friends that we are going to the game with also used Spot Hero and had the same exact thing happen. Maybe this review will prompt a response, but I doubt it. I would stay as far away from this scam as possible!

Great tool but should allow rating parking spots. It’s a great tool and saved me a lot of money in NY city. However, my first experience was horrible. On a beautiful day I booked my spot through the app. then an hour or so later pulled into the garage. Garage manager bluntly told me that they do not honor reservations because they can charge more to people who pull in without a reservation and because it’s a beautiful day they won’t have an issue selling out that day. And I should discuss for a refund with spot hero. Or I could pay the difference. It was a shocker. Didn’t know what to do. I depended on the app and it failed me at first use... It wasn’t really the app failing me in reality, which is why I continued to use it, but it was the parking garage management. But app doesn’t have any way to provide me any feedback or warning about places like that, so it’s partially responsible. Then I started checking the garages on google for reviews, before booking on the app. Yes, it’s painful but gives “some” peace of mind. A review option within the app would be greatly greatly useful. Lack of parking space feedback function is what’s taking one star away from my review.

Will not use again.. I was not aware that I was booking the early bird special. I just put in my event information and was told to enter after 9. I arrived at the garage a few minutes after 10 and received an attitude from the attendant saying I was late and owe more money. The attendant then screeched my tires while moving my car. When I went to pick up the car, I was again told I owed an additional $24. He pointed to a printed out sign on the wall with their “policy”. I called Spot Hero where the rep also had an attitude. She told me my parking pass had all that information in big red letters. I again looked at my parking pass and found in tiny black letters (eventually) that I had to arrive by 10 for my price to be honored (which I would have done if I had known.) Meanwhile, I was already charged an additional $10 oversized vehicle fee for my small SUV. Also the email the SH rep sent me was a picture of my parking pass that looked NOTHING like the parking pass that was actually in my possession. It was not a good situation to be in, and I am very disappointed by the whole experience and the way both businesses handled it. P.S. My brother also booked a spot through SH at a different garage for the same event, and when he arrived he was told it was overbooked and sent away. What’s the point in even using this app if you aren’t guaranteed a spot and you end up having to pay more?

Awful Customer Support and Shady Garages. Some of SpotHero’s partner garages in NYC are shady at best. The fine print is confusing and at times incorrect. For example, I signed up for a one-month parking space at a garage downtown and the garage charged me an additional $30 service fee, then *saved my credit card* and automatically reenrolled me in a monthly $500/month plan and charged the credit card they saved. When I contacted the garage, they insisted they informed me when I paid the $30 fee on my first day in the garage. SpotHero ignored multiple emails and never followed up. Their customer service was absolutely useless. They neither sided with me nor the garage, they simply played dumb or refused to respond. Horrendous customer service. I saved the unanswered emails and submitted them to the Better Business Bureau. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau and was able to recover the $500, but SpotHero was of NO HELP and I will certainly not be using them again.

Was scammed by paying 2x the promised amount.. I booked a parking ticket from 10 AM to 10 PM on Saturday in NYC. Later in the evening before my ticket expired I called the parking lot and told them that I purchased another parking ticket that extended my reservation from 10 PM to 10 AM the next morning totaling a 24 hour period. they did not tell me, however, that I needed to go physically to the parking lot and scan that new ticket in order to extend the reservation but they charged me an extra $47 on top of the $12 parking ticket that I bought for the overnight stay and then they told me that SpotHero would reimburse me for this difference and for the misunderstanding. After contacting SpotHero by email, they said that they would be able to reimburse me for this amount if I show them the receipts so I emailed all the receipts to SpotHero only to receive a follow-up email saying because I scanned both of the tickets now they cannot help me anymore and that they will give me a $10 spot hero credit although all I wanted is the $47 that I paid or was scammed for by this company. It was such an unpleasant experience and their customer service was extremely unprofessional, and provided contradictory information from one customer service representative to the other. I would recommend using other parking ups if you ever end up parking in New York.

Used their spot, got a ticket, they ignored me. We reserved 2 spots with SpotHero like we have many times before. Got to the lot, parked and when we came back we had tickets on our vehicles. I emailed customer support and told them what happened. They asked me to provide a copy of the tickets and I did. I the. Received an email saying the tickets had been resolved and there was no issue. About 3 months later we get noticed from and attorney that we need to pay the fines from the tickets that were “taken care of”. I reached out to customer support again and was told that shouldn’t have happened, that my case had been escalated to a manager who would be in contact shortly and was asked to forward all of the information from the attorney. I forwarded everything and awaited a response or contact from the manager. That was the last communication I received from SpotHero. I sent several follow up emails and none of them were ever answered. I never received a phone call from the manager, and ended up paying over $120 in fines and fees for the tickets that SpotHero was supposed to have taken care of. They completely blew me off and had no interest or intention on helping me. Beware that even if you park in the right spot and the operators make a mistake and ticket you, you’re not going to be helped in any way.

Fine app but very terrible customer experience. There is a glitch in your app that sends a push notification when you have 30 minutes left on your reservation and it tells you to extend. The problem is if an extend option is not available the user experience and customer experience is very unclear and terrible. For me this miscommunication resulted in me having to pay for parking in the lot for 400% more than what I already paid in the app bc this miscommunication caused me to miss my reservation ending. When I called and emailed the customer experience responses were all condescending and it took a few weeks to final get some credit which was less than 50% of what I had paid for parking. The issue to look into is the messaging in the push notifications. If an extension is unavailable maybe the notification that your reservation is ending should exclude anything about extending. Also the button on the reservation that says extend should be disabled or should say something like extending is not available for this spot.

Poor customer service. I booked a spot by my work yesterday. The gps does not bring you to the garage when typing in the address it’s listed under- this isn’t the first time that’s happened, but I absolutely could not find this spot. 20 mins late to work and out $60 on parking since I also had to pay for a different garage at $42 for the day. Customer service was horrible- I called them on the phone and the woman pretended to be so helpful. Said she could refund my reservation and get the $42 reimbursed once I sent my ticket. I then received a follow up email from her with a completely different story- offering only SpotHero credit as a “favor” which was laughable because you can do that on your own in the app- I didn’t need them for that. It was no favor. They never reimbursed the $42 either, never even spoke of it, and now I’m stuck with $23 credit I refuse to use for how horrible the experience was. Why pretend to be helpful and offer things you won’t actually do just to seem great?? I also reserved a garage once that claimed to valet your car on the SpotHero app.. they actually made me self park against this rocky wall that was on a tight curve AND on a hill. My car is worth too much for that to be acceptable especially when their listing on the app is so deceitful. I reached out to customer service about it and they never did anything- the lot still makes you park that way and the ad still says valet. I’m over this app and will be using a competitor now.

Customer service is a joke to them. While enjoying a weekend in downtown Chicago we reserved a spot that ended up not even being available, so my boyfriend ended up finding another and was told that he would receive a full refund credit to his account and thought it was resolved. A few nights ago we went to use that credit toward another spot downtown and couldn't find it anywhere so he called customer service and was told that the refund had gone onto the original card that was used. Running late to where we were going we got off the phone with the representative figuring again that it was resolved, but when he checked his bank account the next day to make sure it was in fact back on the card it was not. He's now been dealing with customer service the last week and a half to resolve a very seemingly simple issue that should have been fixed over a month ago. Reading other reviews I can see that this has been an issue for a lot of people and hopefully something spot hero can work out. All I have to say is use this app as a last resort if you don't like dealing with disorganized customer service.

Customer Centric Parking. I made a reservation for the first time with a parking service e and was skeptical about doing so. One was it going to be a safe option and two, the flexibility of making changes including cancellation since you had to pay up front. After reading reviews for Spot Hero and seeing pictures a of the garage, I became confident that this would be a good choice. The sign up and reservation was easy and they made I. Clear you could adjust the time as needed before you arrived. The value was there - $50 for two nights in NY vs $100 paying at hotel or other parking in the hotel area. As it turns out, I did cancel as we decided to take the train. I was able to cancel and immediately received my full refund. I will definitely use the next time I decide to drive to New York.

Two very frustrating experiences. I like Spot Hero, but my last 2 experiences buying a parking pass have been very frustrating. First one I paid for the parking pass, once I got there they inform me the parking is full, to which I reply I have a parking pass already paid. They’re response: I doesn’t matter, the lot is full, you need to find somewhere else to park. Second experience, park at the place I paid for, when I’m leaving I informed them that I have a Spot Hero parking pass, they told me they haven’t work with spot hero or any prepaid parking pass for 2 years. I confirmed this is the right place, the managing company is still the same... and still I had to pay for the parking ticket to be able to get out... getting both refunds from Spot Hero was quick and easy, but I don’t use Spot Hero because of how good they’re refund system is, I use it because I don’t want to be strolling around trying to find a parking spot, I want to compare prices and choose one I so that I can just go straight to it and expect to have that spot guaranteed as I prepaid for it.

Terrible app. So the only reason I am giving the app 2 star is because I dont have any other alternative at the moment. I have always had some or the other kind of issue while using this app. Most recently, I was stuck in a snow storm and could not go to take my car out when my reservation was ending, hence I wanted to extend it. I n the app there is a button to extend, for this particular garage, but when I tried doing it, it through an error. I called customer service and they told me this garage doesnt accept extentions. Why do you have the extend option for this garage if it doesnt accept it. This is basic app design. Now either I go in a snow storm and take the car out, or pay the garage extra fee, which btw spothero customer servic has no idea how much it would be. I mean you are working in collaboration with the garage companies and dont have such basic data. Thats terrible. The whole reason why I am taking so much time to write this review is because I am so so frustrated, and I hope someone from the customer service team will read this and realize how bad of a job this app is doing.

Difficult to use and awful customer service. On multiple occasions I have tried using this app. A few time it has worked well, but other times I am unable to get the app to work while at the garage, requiring me to pay the garages fee and being stuck with the Spot Hero prepay fee. You would think this would be grounds for a refund, however, when reaching out to customer service, I received no response. As a side note, when I have been stuck paying for the garage fee, it is generally less than $5 more expensive than SpotHero, which I believe is worth not having to use this poorly constructed application. Update: customer service was slightly rude, making me feel as though I did something wrong, instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt. Provided me with a credit for the parking I paid out of pocket. This is really no use to me as I will not be using the App again.

BEWARE: Extending is broken and SpotHero doesn’t care. Beware! ⚠️This app is a true disappointment when it comes to trying to extend garage reservations. Every garage reservation offers the ability to extend time but in reality, it’s up to the garage to determine whether it’s supported. SpotHero doesn’t differentiate between garages that support it vs those that don’t. You’ll never know until you try to extend, and this is a huge design flaw. If you try to extend, many times you’ll get an error message. You’ll call into customer support and they’ll say there’s nothing they can do. Then you’ll make it back to your car and surprise, have to pay $17 because you were 30 minutes late and get charged garage 1st hour rates that are totally reductions, and that’s on top of what you already paid SpotHero. YOU SPEND MORE MONEY USING THIS APP THAN IF YOU JUST WENT TO A GARAGE The customer service department is a total joke. If you call in, they’ll email you many days later asking what happened and not remembering any of your information. It’s a total disgrace and the SpotHero leadership doesn’t care. AVOID!

Will never use again!!!. This past weekend I was in Milwaukee, WI for an event at the stadium and I paid $40 for parking on the app. When I purchased the parking spot there was a note below the information that said something along the lines of “on event days we can no longer guarantee you spot if you do not arrive an hour earlier than the event start time.” I arrived at the parking lot at 4:45 because the event started at 6:45 and my boyfriend and I were going to eat dinner and walk around some before the event. When I arrived at the parking lot I realized that the lot was not monitored and there was no way to save my spot. It was simply a lot where you parked and then paid for a tag for your window. I paid $40 for nothing and was not able to cancel my payment or get refunded. I then had to pay an additional $20 in cash to park in a different lot that was much further from the stadium. We also lost our reservation for the restaurant because of the extra time that it took to find parking and the additional walk time. I will never be using this app again and I would give it 0 stars.

Should be called spot anti-hero!. I had a ticket to attend a play in a downtown urban metro on a busy night (NBA game also occurring about a block away at close to the same time). I booked a spot in a garage attached to my theater where I have parked many times. When I arrived there was a sign on my garage stating the garage was full and that only patrons with a reservation could enter. I scanned my reservation and was allowed to enter the garage, only to find that there were absolutely no spots available. Several cars were circling but with no available spots there was no choice other than to depart via the exit. I tried to re-enter the garage and circle again, but my pass would no longer work since it was ‘already in use.’ At this point I was at risk for missing my event with very few available options! I was forced to pay nearly $40 for parking in the only available lot, also at risk to my own personal safety as I then needed to walk outside alone at night in a large urban metro which is not what I was expecting having booked a garage that was attached to my theater. I’ve messaged spot hero 4 times with no response, still out the $17 I paid them for a spot that did not exist and then forced to pay an inflated price to park nearby! Would never trust this app again!

Waste of time and money I’ll never get back.. Spent 18$ to reserve a spot using this app in Long Beach . When I got to the parking garage they had already sold out all their spots to cash paying customers. There is no way to dispute a ticket or claim you have to hope you can get someone to listen to you and maybe reimburse you via email or call your bank and dispute the charge. Major MAJOR inconvenience, instead of showing up to the event early and finding parking I relied on this app to streamline things. My party and me ended up wasting well over an hour trying to find spots for our cars and ended up walking much further than the parking garage we reserved. This of course had us miss about 2 hours of the event and be out 18$ in parking (just for my car not including my buddy who paid 11 for his car and my other buddy who paid 7$. These jerks oversold and got 36$ just from my party. They probably raked in hundreds or thousands from other people who won’t fight or complain for a few bucks. Very crappy situation that kills a night and ruined the moral of a party.

Doesn’t work well in Chicago. I don’t normally write reviews, but my recent experiences using this app need to be addressed. I used to be able to use this app without much issue, however I’m not sure if something has changed recently but multiple times in a row I have showed up to park at a spot and the garage has been closed or full. It has made me late to multiple shows in the city since I have to emergency find a new spot to park in, and usually the new spot is not the safest place to be leaving my car since I will usually have to settle for lot or street parking. Please do a better job vetting your garage partners so I don’t have to find a new spot last minute. That’s the entire point of reserving a spot to park in. Customer service doesn’t seem to care, offering a refund and brushing it off. City parking is stressful enough, and showing up to a closed garage that I paid for a spot in multiple times is unacceptable. Given my recent experiences, I can no longer recommend using this app, and from now on I won’t be.

Good idea but poor execution. I was in Columbus Ohio and did not want to pay excessive parking fees or high Uber prices so I found this app. The first lot I used went very well, no issues. The second lot was difficult to identify but I followed the directions from the app and their were several lots near each other. I was not familiar with the area so I trusted the app that I was in the correct lot. I ended up with a parking ticket. The second day I parked in a lot and was able to find any way to identify I had paid and did not want to get another ticket so I paid again to have a ticket on my dash. I contacted customer service and it took over two weeks to get a response to both my ticket and double payment. They did refund my double payment but as a credit on the app. The ticket they stated was valid because I was unknowingly in the wrong lot. I tried calling the customer service line and was on hold for over an hour. I emailed again but have not received a response yet. I doubt I’ll be using this app and again for fear of getting a ticket so my credit is useless. I don’t recommend using this app. I should’ve paid more for security or taken an Uber.

Unhelpful staff and repeated delays in refunding money. Paid for two nights of parking on Spothero. When i got to the lot, they said they were full and to just call Spothero to get a refund. And apparently to just go find parking somewhere else in midtown Manhattan. When i called Spothero the day this happened, they said they would process a refund. After 4 or 5 days of no refund, i submitted an email request for a refund, selecting the pre defined ‘garage was full’ issue. After 4 more days of no refund, i again tried calling Spothero. The person i spoke with was rude and wanted to give me a Spothero account credit not a refund, because it had been so long since the date of the incident. They also made me to email them proof of the first phone call, because they had no record of that call. I was told my email with proof of the first phone call and a picture of my receipt from the garage where i ended up parking when my Spothero reservation proved to be worthless, would go to the Finance department and i should hear from them in 1 - 2 days. To be determined if and how this ever gets resolved.

Paid Reservation is not guaranteed. What’s the point of this app if you can’t ensure customers are getting a parking spot after they’ve paid? We booked a parking spot in los angeles next to Hollywood Palladium and when we drove up there was a bunch of cars being turned away because the lot was already full. The worker told us that they re-sold our parking spot to someone else and there’s nothing they can do about it and to ask for a refund. We spent hours having to find another parking spot. We called customer service and the person tried to get us to accept “parking credits” on their app. Why would i want parking credits when you can’t even make sure the parking spots are guaranteed? That’s the most shadiest and corrupted thing i have ever heard. This app is a scam and will take everyones money without making sure you are able to get a parking lot spot. You’re better off driving to any lot and paying in cash to the parking attendant. This is a useless trash app and i’m mad.

Lot Descriptions Aren’t Reliable. SpotHero is often a convenient way to reserve affordable parking, but one bad experience has me looking for alternatives. I reserved a space in the app and proceeded to the lot. There was only one space remaining but it was marked as a compact car space. The app description specifically says you can park anywhere that doesn’t say “reserved”. Since I was late and the app description makes no mention of compact cars, I figured I was Ok. But I still pulled in as far as possible and ensured I wasn’t impeding traffic (Subaru Outback). That didn’t work, and I got a ticket. Oh well. SpotHero’s customer service didn’t respond to my initial email but i was able to speak to someone by phone. They were apologetic and polite but only refunded the initial parking fee. That’s fine, but I’m now suspicious of whether my “reservation” really counts for anything and whether I can rely on the app’s lot descriptions. Paying this ticket wipes out months of whatever “savings” I’d accumulated using SpotHero.

This app is an absolute scam do not use it. I bought a spot with this app and I went to that exact spot that I had bought and I went to a concert that I spent money on my way back later that night to find that my car was towed. Miraculously I struggled as it was literally 11 o’clock at night as I was trying to figure out where my car went. which is insane because I spent money on this spot, so why are you got towed? I do not understand as miraculously finding out where this car ended up. I finally was able to get a bag after spending $200 on my wall earn money to get the car back and I contacted Support as I was very much frustrated because I spent money on this parking spot just to find out that my car was towed little did I know that’s not support was absolutely unhelpful as I asked Support they sent me to a supervisor that took me a couple days to respond just for them to tell me that I won’t get my money back and that they’re sorry because of my mistake a parking in the wrong spot which was crazy and incorrect because I parked in the right spot that I spent money on because why would I park in a spot that I did not spend money on I’m very much frustrated and still always be frustrated but it’s OK. I guess the 50 bucks left on the app that they gave back to me is more than enough for me to get scammed out of $200 again just for them to tell me that I parked in my wrong spot. This is such a great app and make sure you guys keep using it.

It’s a scam. I was trying to save time, just pay when you get there and delete this app if you already installed it. I didn’t save any time and could have searched for cheaper parking if it wasn’t for this stupid dishonest app. When I got to the actual parking garage, there was no mention of how to link SpotHero to a ticket which the parking garage instructions state must be placed on the dash after paying at the machine. Spot hero charged $16 which I have been trying to get back and the official parking garage machine charged $40 for the same time. I have been trying to get a refund from spot hero but their policy is no refund after the time starts. I am quite gutted about this scam. I don’t normally write reviews. Anyone know how to give 0 stars or a negative star review?

Never again- total rip-off. I downloaded the app yesterday, and paid $20.00, plus the service fee, trusting that our parking experience would be better, because downtown Toronto is difficult at the best of times. Add to that the Toronto International Film Festival, a Blue Jays game, plus an Eric Clapton concert, and you can imagine the craziness on the streets. We could not find the parking place, in spite of going around the block several times, and using the photo supplied on the website. It was simply not well marked, if it even existed at all! Finally out of desperation we went into a garage that we figured must be the right place. We did not find out until we were trying to exit after midnight that this was actually 79 Wellington and not 75 Wellington. We ended up having to pay again. This morning I called customer support (in the USA, which has added an international calling charge to my expenses), and received no support, except someone reciting company policy. Ironically, there was absolutely no shortage of parking spaces anyway, so it would not have been necessary to use this “service”. Lesson learned. Never again.

Toronto - Amazingly easy. I had decided to attend a concert in downtown Toronto. I try to stay away from the city if I can at any cost. After finding out my usual mass transportation park the car and take transit no longer existed I made a Google search for parking. I must admit it was a summer Sunday but there were several events going on like the Blue Jays, The Ex and so on. SpotHero came up on my google search. I tried it as I wanted a confirmed and reserved parking spot. I got a prime location (TD towers) for under 20.00 after taxes. I was concerned that even though it said Canadian funds they would charge me US dollars like some other apps but nope all Canadian funds. And they provide directions just follow them we ended up in the wrong spot the first time but we had to drive around the back of a building to get back to the front. Highly recommend and I will be using again to see another concert in the fall. Thanks SpotHero!

Awesome CX. They are awesome. Had a situation when the parking lot had just one spot and the spot was not very tidy. They refunded me and gave me a new spot right away. That spot was super close to my work. They are awesome at customer service. Rock on folks. I have recommended spothero to ky collegues and they like it too.

Works Every Time. I was really surprised to see all the negative reviews. I have been using this app for a couple of years now and it’s my go to. Never had a problem getting in or out of downtown Toronto lots. Never paid anymore than what I paid at booking and you can cancel up to an hour before your reservation I believe with no fees. I recommend to everyone I know going downtown. It’s a money saver for sure. Sometimes it cheaper because you get to the lot and they charge more on the spot. Juts a lot less stress when you know where you are parking and to can choose how close you park to your destination.

Needs refining. Spot Hero, don’t have us use the filters to find a spot that allows in-and-out privileges, then pay for a spot, then find out that it doesn’t.

Last minute cancellation. Loved this app. We used for the first time and then had to cancel our plans because of the weather. SpotHero mad it very easy to cancel at the the last minute!

Customer service doesn’t care. You only know a service provider when problems occur. I will not use SpotHero anymore. I’ve got fined while parking, despite having paid the parking via SpotHero. The customer service is not effective to solve the issue. The parking lot administrator is still trying to collect the money. Horrible and painful experience. Forget about SpotHero

App isn’t great. Can’t cancel via app. Cancelled reservations via website still show on the app.on the app. Cancelled reservations still show up on the app. Needs work.

Downtown Toronto parking now possible!. This app has enabled us to drive to downtown Toronto with ease of mind. I enjoy using it. It has some room for improvement but keep up the good work ✨

Overbooked. Beware. Booked and when I arrived attendant at Hilton Phoenix had nothing on record and said there was no room. Scam.

Best app to use for Toronto parking!. My friend recommended this app and I’m so happy she did. Sometimes it’s absolutely impossible to find affordable parking in Toronto, especially downtown and street parking is insane. I’ve saved so much money with this app and have never had issues with the lots I’ve parked in! Highly recommend.

More expensive than going to the lot. Downloaded the app yesterday for Toronto area. The app did give plenty of available parking, including one lot 160 m from where we were going, and I could've booked it for $20 to park from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. We decided to just go to the lot directly, and it was actually only $3 from 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM! I will use this app again to find available parking, but will not book on it.

Not great service. They asked for this review after they sent me to a full lot, and then didn’t refund me and instead I have credit I can never use…

overcharges compared to real price. Charges more than the price posted at the lot. Tried two lots, both cost a dollar oe two less.

AMAZING APP!. Love this app so much! It’s super convenient for me to find a parking spot in downtown Toronto. And the user experience is great and smooth, it basically show all the info and clear instruction that you need to know before you park.

App is fine, support not so much. Finding parking via the app is pretty good, loads faster and has better features than some competitors. However if you have an issue while parking, the support options are severely limited (phone call only - not great for several reasons).

Easy to use. I’ve had no problems finding spots in the city. I had one issue where another car was parked in the spot I reserved and customer service comp’d me another spot in another lot. Overall, great experience so far.

Perfect. Everything was great indeed .

Love the app!. Simple to use Have used it for over a year now. Great app! I have referred many people.

More Zero Than Hero. Used this app for the first time to get Toronto parking around Yonge and College. Managed to get a spot on Elizabeth St only to find after the purchase that the spot does not allow for SUV, Minivan, or trucks. Convenient that this disclaimer only comes up after payment and not during the search. The app asks for vehicle details but does nothing with it. BTW I went down to the lot and it was full or large vehicles so once again no homework and terrible user experience. As for pricing, most green pea parking and private unmanned lots have a $8/day option so found this application offered not Hero but Zero value add. I walked by two lots closer to where I needed to be at $8 for 12 hours of parking. Did a quick search on this organization and they seem to have a heavy focus on engineering talent, may I suggest you find yourself a decent product manager? Without much thought I can imagine several ways to improve the end user experience on this app and strategy to grow revenue.

Awful policy. Do not take advantage of the promos as it’s country bound and they do not explicit state it. You will not be able to get a refund hence the promo will not be worth at all… terrible experience.

No customer service. I sent them email twice to try to resolve my issue but never got a response from them.

Just the whirring circle. Toronto—tried to find a spot in the downtown core near a popular steak restaurant where I KNOW there are dozens of lots. The map shows up and just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning and hangs. No choices presented by SpotHero. Not much of a hero in my books.

Easy to Navigate. This app is so good in many ways, it is convenient, easy to use and their refund policy is top notch and easy to do. I use this app for all my parking needs

Easy to use, provides many options. Used this app for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at just how easy it was to locate and book a parking spot. I even saved some money in the process! Kudos for developing a clean, highly useful app!

Tops. Excellent features, value, and usability.

Great app. Damm cheap parking in downtown Thanks .. great app and easy to work with Great option to extend the parking remotely 👍

Great App. Had the app on phone for awhile. Needed it this week. Works great. Lots of affordable parking options around target destination in downtown Toronto.

Received two $100 tickets despite paying for parking. I’ve used this app three times in Toronto, and ended up with two $100 tickets from Impark even though I paid for parking through SpotHero. The first ticket took a month of emails to SpotHero to have it resolved, the second one was responded to quicker yet I have my doubts about the ticket cancellation. Wondering why this keeps happening when booking parking through SpotHero; I’ve asked in emails and that question is never responded to.

Spot booked when arrived. I made my reservation and paid only to be told upon arrival at the lot that there were no available spots.

Relies on lot not being full. There is no basis for successfully finding a spot and reserving it. I pre paid and reserved, arrived only to find all spots were taken and it was a public lot. It’s a pointless money grab that offers zero advantage to any green p or parking lot finder app. Add to my pile of useless deleted apps.

Awesome. Nice app to find cheap parking spots in Toronto downtown and airport.

Seamless experience. I have now used SpotHero 3 times and everything always went without a problem. It’s very convenient and prices are mostly decent

Aerosmith Concert Cancelled. The SpotHero app made it easy to quickly cancel the parking reservation and refund it. Love the service.

Damn!. Works like a charm!

Always costs more than the facility and rarely works right. Avoid

Dumb. I would have given a 5. However I had a terrible experience with the parking garage in Toronto. Getting in was super smooth: one scan of the QR code and I got in. Leaving though… I felt like I was held hostage for 10 minutes. I extended my parking by three hours because brunch with friends was running late. Neither my original nor new QR code worked. The manager of the parking lot attendant got involved and at one point took my unlocked phone and walked to his office with it - he easily could have looked at/taken private information of mine unbeknownst to me. I handed my phone to him under the pretence that he would remain nearby… was not expecting him to walk away. Eventually he came back. They let me leave and I don’t know if they ever were able to locate my reservation

Perfect parking experience. ✅Easy to compare prices ✅Detailed instructions for parking spots ✅Free change/cancellation ✅Cheaper than public spots Great app.

Unable to help you when their parking lots make a mistake. I parked in a parking lot in downtown Toronto and I was 100% sure that we parked in the right spot and received a ticket from the parking lot Impark for a parking lot that I was not at. When contacting SpotHero they said they could help me if it was invalid.. but it makes no sense because obviously I wasn’t at the other lot so of course my parking was not showing for that lot on the ticket. They dragged out the process for a month and didn’t help me with my dispute. I’ve asked them to have Impark check their cameras and for disappoint responses from them saying that they can’t help me. Delaying any sort of help that I could have received from the beginning. Terrible service cost me more money to use this than I could save.

Low customer service. My experience with this is app is really bad. First they gave me a parking spot which was blocked due to the event and I get stuck in that street, wasting time and money! Then after my too many calling they compensate it with “Spothero credit” after atleast 2 weeks, which was completely useless ! I cannot use that amount! There is no real customer supporting!

Parking ticket. Will not use again. Got a ticket while parked in the lot on my reservation, and customer service, although polite, refuses to cancel the ticket. Just park and pay at the kiosk.

Not Available in Vancouver, Canada. This app is useless in Vancouver, Canada sadly. We’re always getting left out

Loved it. Used this first time and I can say everything went smooth. The directions were on point and my vehicle was just how I left it on return. I like the fact I didn’t need to circle around looking for parking and for the best priced parking. It all was done for me on this app and I enjoyed that peace of mind. I would recommend and gladly use again.

Notifications. The app has stopped sending notifications over the last month. Please look into this.

Doesn’t work in Montreal. Ugh

Complete Waste of Time and Money. Do not Use will not work and when you contact support will make you wait for hours promised everything deliver nothing. SpotHero will never ever phone you back charged Twice for Parking

Often requires to print a ticket. I don’t know of many people who have a printer in their car? Be aware often when choosing your parking parking lot will require that you print the ticket out which in my opinion sort of defeats the purpose of this app. It’s a shame because this is actually a really great app and the refunds are ver user friendly

Not worth it.. Tried it once never again. Prepaid ticket for garage . Instructions said present spot hero to attendant to exit. Got to garage no attendant. Ended up paying again and it was half the price charged by app. Do not recommend.

Scam- Charged Extra when Leaving. Complete scam. Paid $28 for parking in the app and then was charged another $10 when leaving the lot. Could have paid $25 for event parking without using Spot Hero. Don’t get scammed by Spot Hero.

Made Downtown So Accesible. SpotHero is the BEST. I live in Chicago, but nowhere near any CTA stops, and downtown parking is so unpredictable price-wise and availaibility-wise. Getting downtown used to be such a gamble of taking at least an hour to get to or from there via bus-to-train-to-another-train, spending too much on Ubers, or driving down there to find there is no parking anywhere (or that is going to be $30+ for just a few hours). SpotHero saving me spots that I can afford right near wherever I am heading has changed my entire relationship with going downtown. This app has given me a chance to explore so much more of my awesome city in a way that is affordable, both financially and time-wise. So grateful for SpotHero!!

Poor escalation support. I parked my car downtown Chicago and extended my time because i wanted to and in which my time extended however, spot hero decided to extend my time for a reservation time I didn’t request which led to my car getting towed and me having to pay $350.. very inconvenient.. I reached out to support in which I managed to speak with a supervisor in which the only thing she kept doing was apologizing and stating it would take 3-5 business days with no additional accommodation for me while waiting on a compensation. I asked her what could be done in the meantime and she said “I can’t set expectations until I receive the towing documents” as if I would waste my time contacting you guys about something that didn’t happen.. so long story SPOT HERO HAS A TECH GLITCH ON THE APP WHICH LED ME TO GETTING MY CAR TOWED WITH NO ACCOMMODATION.. unresolved issue.. parking panda is my new go to, not spot hero.

False advertising?. Generally have enjoyed using this app but their tendency to falsely advertise the rate until you drill down into the actual parking lot and space is frustrating. The app shows the price of parking but the price on the map may or may not be accurate you have to click on the advertise rate on the map drill down then look for add ins and site stipulations things like additional fees for SUV’s etc at check out …. this would be semi acceptable if the app didn’t insist on having you input the type of car you have etc when you set up your profile .… In other words the app insis you have to share you car information at set up to help it be more accutrtae but then they dont use it when showing parking fees in their maps…

Bad app - good costumer service. EDIT: I sent an email to SpotHero, and gave them a call a few days after. They reimbursed me the amount I had paid through the app and gave me some credit to match what I paid in the garage. Issue was promptly solved once I got in touch with them. Kudos to their costumer support team!!! I used this app to book a parking space in Chicago this weekend. I was charged when I booked and was able to get into the garage. Everything went well until I had to leave the garage: you have to grab a ticket and go to the payment booth even though you already paid through the app. I figured the garage would place a temporary charge in my card and would remove it once it would associate my ticket to my reservation. Surprise, surprise, IT DIDN’T!!! Put the ticket and scanned the barcode upon leaving, as instructed in the app, but now I’m stuck with a double charge for the same parking session. I have sent an email to SpotHero and will revise my rating if the situation is corrected. If not, I will go to American Express to dispute the charge. In the meantime, I can only say: DON’T USE THE APP, IT’S USELESS!!!

App with a HUGE flaw. The concept is great however there is one huge flaw making users pay more than they should. This app automatically charges my vehicle as oversized which is another $10 on top of the prices shown during my search. 3 out of 3 times the parking attendants told me that my vehicle is not considered oversized and I am over paying by $10. I have reached out to Spot Hero contacts and they justified that this is normal. IT IS NOT. My 2014 Audi Q5 is a smaller vehicle compared to a BMW 5 series, the 5 series doesn't get charged for oversized vehicle yet my Q5 does... This makes no sense at all. Always call ahead to the parking spot to confirm if your vehicle is considered oversized or not as most likely unless you got an Escalade or family van it will not be considered oversized.

Great Customer Service. I rarely ever write reviews. But honestly, this app is really good. I've saved a lot money by using this app, and whenever I have problems the costumer service is always helpful and very friendly. Last night I was having a tough time getting into a garage. But my plans canceled so I decided to head home. I called customer service after I exited the garage... They felt so bad for my bad experience that they reimbursed me how much I paid for the ticket ($15) and added $5 to my SpotHero credits. They were so friendly, and I honestly have never had a bad experience talking to SpotHero customer service so thank guys! (By the way this was a summary of what was a hour long ordeal).

Had to pay double and fight for refund. Unlike their claims that they will reimburse you if their credit doesn’t work at the garage on their app, you have to spend weeks going back and forth and following up to get a refund. We booked a spot at two well maintained garages, one was a medical building and one a Hilton. Both garages had never heard of spot hero and wouldn’t honor the reservation. We ended up paying double at both venues for parking. After weeks of waiting they let us know they would give us a credit on their app for the amount we paid them, not the amount from the parking venue as their app claims. We explained we didn’t want a credit we wanted a refund. They are supposedly mailing us a paper check now because they refused to refund the cc we paid with on their app. Worst customer service and resolution team I’ve dealt with in years. Highly don’t recommend SpotHero. We will never be using it again.

GREAT Customer Service help against tricky Parking and Refund policies. TL;DR: 3 stars for app, 5 stars for customer service. Call them if you have issues! Background: My partner and I had an issue with parking details coming in as tourists in Chicago. Figuring out where to park for our hotel was one thing among information overload. We were advised by our hotel receptionist to use Spot Hero for parking at a nearby garage due to the most competitive rates. However, we missed that we were unallowed entering and exiting the garage until we weren’t allowed back in. We paid from Thursday to Sunday at $83 but left for tourism on Friday, and we’re devastated to think that we paid $83 just for a day. We called customer service and had a delightful experience with service rep Debra, who was really invested in helping us get a partial refund given the circumstances. She vibed and empathized with us really well, made our night, and fought the system to get us a $55 refund!! :D The only constructive feedback I have for SpotHero is that it sounds like the protocol for a customer service rep to get customers a partial refund could be less rigid, and more intuitive. It might also be a helpful enhancement for the app to directly recalculate the invoice if the customer leaves their prepaid period early.

Rams Parking near LA Coliseum and Anthony. My son & I have had a few opportunities to attend sporting events around the country. For his birthday, I got tickets to his favorite team, the LA Rams and quickly realized that parking near the coliseum was a nightmare. And if you aren’t a season ticket holder, you’re out of luck. Taking the metro link would mean 1/2 the day on the train getting into downtown. I lucked onto Spot Hero and found a lot 1/4 mile away from the coliseum. So I booked it. And Anthony was AWESOME! So kind and made sure to aske our plans for the game so he parked us appropriately. He was helpful getting us out of the lot AND gave us easy directions to the freeway. If I return to an event here, I’ll book again and I’d highly recommend him to others. I’ll be using this app again for other events and travel!

Frustrated at Graduation. I made my SpotHero reservation the night before my daughters graduation. Arrived on time to the garage, pulled up the app and nothing. My screen was black. Powered down, restarted, opened the app and another black screen. Now running late and blocking the garage, I tried to go through my email confirmation. Nothing but a black screen. I had to grab a ticket and pay a much higher hourly rate. I went back in after the graduation to cancel the reservation and of course can now access the app. But I can only get a credit to SpotHero and not my money back. This is unacceptable! I want a full refund as I can’t rely on an app that cannot be accessed when needed. Use with caution and don’t purchase in advance.

Too Many Pop-up Ads. I have used this app several times in New York City and in Washington DC for the same two garages, and have not had any problems having my reservation honored at those places. My main complaint has to do with the app sending push notification spam to my phone. I went into the settings and changed it so that notifications would NOT send push notifications. However I still get pop-ups constantly on my phone with this app. It’s the only app for which I get such notifications. For this reason I am deleting the app. It’s not worth it to get these constant ads. Very annoying and disappointing! I get that you’re just trying to drum up business for your company, but I live in a suburb. I don’t need your app unless I’m going into a city, so there’s absolutely no point in sending me constant ads.

Do NOT use!. I live in a big city so an app to help with parking would be great. NOT this one. I have reserved spots only to arrive to a full lot and most recently, after parking for the day and going to work I tried to leave the lot. I was told someone had already scanned out using my reservation. How could this be?! I was at work all day and no one has access to my phone. The garage told me o had to call spot hero so I did and I had to sit on hold over 10 minutes before I could speak to someone and then they advised I pay the full rate since I had clearly left already. I had to pay the garage it’s full rate (in downtown Chicago for a full day of parking) to be able to leave the garage. How does this even happen?! I will never use this app again and really wish there was a way we, the customers, were not always stuck cleaning up the mess for a service we paid for.

No refund or accountability for fraudulent charges. I used this app for Chicago parking for over a year without issues, then over 1 day spent $50 on two separate reservations which were not honored. I was allowed to book spots but when I showed up both of the lots were full. The customer service representatives refused to refund the charges, indicating they were only willing to pay for additional parking charges I incurred on top of the fraudulent charges. On the other disputed claim, they pretended not to have reservation number while calling me by the wrong name over email and closed the claim after less than a week even though their department themselves still have not responded to other communication . From my standpoint, i consider the charges fraudulent and I’m appalled by this treatment. Deleted my app today.

Parking lot and shuttle anxiety. I can’t thank the representative enough for helping me over the phone. On Oct 2, about 630am, I parked the SFO Burlingame airport parking, it was dark and off the main driving path. The shuttle left but didn’t drive into lot to the designated pick up, I’m guessing they didn’t see me standing by the bench. I thought I was going to miss my plane. He stayed on the with me, gave me suggestions and basically kept me from crying. We figured out a plan and I made my flight! I have been trying to thank him and I hope he gets this message. He went above and beyond to help me. Thank you so very much.

I’m Done With SpotHero!. After using this app for several years, I am now done with SpotHero. The last 2 times I have used it have been bad experiences. I used it a few weeks ago to visit the New England Aquarium in Boston. The aquarium recommended booking ahead with SpotHero, so I did just that. I arrived only to find out that I could have saved several dollars had I paid on exit myself with validation from the aquarium. I again used it last night. I paid $12 for a garage near Copley Square. I arrive to find out that if I pulled up on the spot it would have only been $10. In addition, the instructions said that the ticket must be validated by 12 AM when the office closes. We decided to get dessert, so I rushed back to have it validated before midnight. I got to the parking office at 11:20 PM. The attendant told me I was lucky he was still here since he was planning to leave in 5 minutes. (At 11:25 PM). So I am now done with SpotHero. Others be warned!

No help when the app doesn’t work. I was at a concert and parked in a parking garage with the end time being 11:30pm. The concert was running late and at 11pm I was asked by the app if I wanted to extend the time. I put my credit card in and tried to extend the time, but kept getting a message saying traffic jam it’s not you it’s us. Sign out and in again or call SpotHero. I tried over and over with the same message (keep in mind my internet was otherwise working fine). I called SpotHero and was on hold for 10-15 minutes during the concert until my time expired. Practically ruined the end of the concert and when we got back to the car we were charged at the parking garage like we never used spot hero, so instead of $25 it was $50 to park there. Called SpotHero the next day and they said extensions were not guaranteed and there was nothing they could do. Gave me a $5 credit to SpotHero. Worthless since I won’t be using the app again.

Poor Communication with Affiliate Lots. Great and easy to use app!!! The customer service is really amazing and fast as well. Unfortunately I have been ticketed twice in one week for not having a receipt on my car even though spot hero confirmed 3x that its not necessary for me to have one in order to park in that specific lot. It seems as if the affiliate lot either does not have access to spot hero reservations or they just cant be bothered to check. The last thing I want to do when I get out of work is dispute a ticket that I should not have gotten in the first place. I would recommend selling Spot Hero bumper stickers or some sort of tag for the customers that do not have a printer at home. Overall I really enjoyed the service and convenience until the consecutive tickets. Wont be using the app anymore so I’ll just add some time to my commute to find other parking accommodations.

This app does not give you a spot.. Be very careful. You do not have a “reservation” with this app. In the words of the app’s support people, after I told them my reservation did not get me a spot, “Having a reservation just means your chances are much higher than most to get a parking spot in a timely fashion.” This did little good when I got to my selected NYC garage on time but confronted dozens of gridlocked cars from three (yes, three) each direction trying to get to this garage. The information was also highly confused as the app gave two different “entrances” to the garage—one closed, the other swamped. My reservation was totally meaningless. I had to scour the neighborhood for another place to park. SpotHero refunded my money, but it failed to solve the one problem I thought was it’s purpose to solve—that I could prepay for a spot and not have to worry about parking. Keep worrying and build in more time, just like before.

Quick, Easy, Amazing!. I’ve used this app numerous times before leaving a review. Every time I use it, it has saved me time and money. No more circling around, looking for an open spot. Reserve a spot close to where you are trying to go and SpotHero does the rest. Last week I parked to go to Shedd Aquarium, and when I was leaving the barcode kept reading “error” at the gate when trying to leave. I called the attendant and gave her all my info from the app and she let me right though -only hiccup I’ve had. I love this app and use it frequently. I have also had family members download it for when they are in town visiting. Great work devs!

Updated review. I had given this app a 1 star review.. - I prepaid a reservation -was turned away when lot was full - was refunded in app credit, no option for cc refund - I was extremely displeased Updated review: While I understand it’s difficult to ensure a local lot honors the reservations, I think that needs to be addressed. I almost missed the show I drove into dc for, because I didn’t anticipate having to scramble for parking on a Saturday night. I, along with many other cars with prepaid reservations, were turned away because the lot was full. If my reservation is canceled due to reasons other than my own canceling, I should have the option for full refund to my card. With that said, Bianca, a customer success hero at SpotHero, was top notch. She was patient, empathetic, and extremely efficient in helping me resolve my concern. I will give SpotHero another chance moving forward. Suggestions: work on partnerships w lots to ensure your customers are getting what they expect from the service. Offer full refunds -not spothero credit- if a reservation is canceled outside of the customer’s control. Promote Bianca to director of customer success heroes. Seriously. Bianca gets 5 stars all day long.

Great Customer Service. I had secured a spot to attend a concert at Wrigley Field. However when we arrived, we were unable to get into the garage. We drove another block and paid almost twice what we had through Spot Hero. I was able to cancel my SH reservation, even though it was after my reservation time, which was a huge relief. Then I realized that they’d credited my SH account. After asking, and explaining that I seldom have a need to use the app, I was then credited to my original form of payment. What a relief!!! They also added a credit to my account to make up for the cost difference! Very happy with my SH experience, and will recommend to others who may be going into the city!! Thank you Spot Hero!

Horrible and what a joke customer service. Horrible first experience using their services. I booked a parking spot in downtown Chicago, they gave me the instructions to open the gate by using my cellphone but when I got there their app didn’t work to open the gate, I had to call them and they tried to open it from there but nothing happened, short story I lost my appointment and me and family had a not nice moment because of this so finally they had to find me another spot near by. Then for the next day I had already booked the same parking spot and I decided to email them to please refund my money back because after such a horrible experience I just didn’t feel like using their services again and that’s all, I NEVER receive an answer back at least to say NO! This company is a joke and really disrespectful with the customers. I don’t think I’ll use this again.

It’s good enough but not great. I like that I can book daily parking cheaper than at the gate BUT it’s a cumbersome website and app for something fairly simple. Examples: - I can’t book or search monthly parking on the app or the mobile website. - I can’t easily search monthly parking that might be coming available. It should tell me future monthly parking options and say “available on x date”. - I can’t book daily parking for every Saturday (for example) without doing it manually. There should be a repeat option. - When you search monthly parking it displays a phone number and says they love to help. The guy on the phone just did the same search as me and no additional help whatsoever. - I sent in a message via the support center and no one ever reached out to me. - I tried entering a $10 off coupon but it’s only for first time users and I’d grumpily already booked parking the night before. Bummer. I do like the prices and it’s worked fine on every booking. I like that you can cancel last minute, which I’ve used a couple times when it’s snowing and I decide to work from home. I just wish they had more support and functionality.

Overbooking. Overall I am very satisfied with the SpotHero hero app and program! However depending on what time of year or what day of the week you choose a spot in Manhattan for example, you may not always have a space available! This was the case for for me several months ago when I took my wife into Manhattan for a very important follow up appointment at Memorial Sloan Kettering and was turned away from two garages each of which I had previously booked a SpotHero reservation! Needless to say it was very frustrating and I had to drop my wife off and allow her to walk to her appointment alone in a strange neighborhood! This is unacceptable!I am hoping this will not happen in the future in the meantime I continue to use SpotHero and hope it will continue to serve me well.

Worst experience. We booked a spot near wrigley field for the cubs game. We got to the lot and they were full.. (even tho we reserved a spot) we called the help line and they were very nice and booked us a spot near the field and said they would cover the additional charge... we spent 20 min getting to the spot because we were driving around wrigleyville to find the spot was taken... we call back and tell them the spot was once again full... then they gave us a 3rd spot to go to which took us an additional 30 min which was close to the field... and guess what.. that spot was also taken.. so the game started an hour and a half ago and we still didn’t have anywhere to park. Finally we just decided to park at a lot we could find and ended up walking a mile to the game and got to the game in the 5th inning. We were extremely upset as this was a rare occurrence that we could get a night out.. I will NOT use them again... VERY disappointing

Great App and an even better support team!. We use this app when traveling, especially to new locations (mostly on the east coast). This app is great to find a safe parking spot, and most likely at a cost effective rate. Features we love: user reviews, well explained parking features, ample interior and exterior pictures. Hassle free experience. Recently we travelled to NYC. Unfortunately due to traffic blockages our parking garage was cordoned off. We ended up paying double the amount to park at a different garage. Post event and one simple conversation later, we were reimbursed for the initial booking and the credit for extra expense was issued as well. Overall a hassle free experience!

Disappointed. Hi, I have been using this app since they exist . I never had a complain. SpotHero saved me lots of money. What I am complaining about is only one separate event. I purchased a parking with the app in Downtown Chicago last week. I know the parking, price was right , until I went to the garage and realized I paid for 3hrs more than it was if you pay there and it was unlimited for all night. I needed to extend with 30 min and SpotHero wanted to charge double on top of what I already paid. Why over what I would pay if I didn’t use the app. I was greatly disappointed by SpotHero.

Be Careful with this app. I was visiting NYC this past weekend and I entered a garage that I had paid in advance for. I arrived five minutes prior to my reservation. I was ASSURED by the attendant at the garage that this was completely fine and I wouldn’t be charged additional fees. Fast forward to when I was leaving the garage, I left two hours before my reservation ended. When he printed the ticket I was charged for an extra FULL day of parking. I was told by the attendant that this “happens all the time with SpotHero” and that I should reach out to them to get a full refund. Well I reached out to their customer service and they apologized and gave me a $5 credit. Not even close to covering the extra day I was charged. SpotHero clearly does not communicate with the garages they work with and did nothing to help my situation. Thanks for the $5 credit SpotHero, I will not be reserving with you in the future.

Do not use this service, it is a trap.. I have paid to spot hero before I entered into parking spot. Though I got a ticket at the parking spot. I called customer service and they told me they will take care of it. After a month got a collection from the parking company so they lied to me and didn’t take care of it. I called once again to find out what’s going on they told me the same thing they will take care but then got another collection notice. Not sure if they make customers fool or don’t wanna work on ticket. Please do not waste time of us if you don’t want to work on ticket just be straight forward. Edit; my ticket voided now. Updating my ratings to 5 stars

Caveat Emptor. i downloaded this app after reading about a great parking deal during Fleet Week this weekend in san francisco. i paid my “great deal” parking fee and got a receipt w clear instructions when i get to the garage. got to the garage in SF (named after the most populous city in AK) and even asked the staff before i went in about the procedure if i already have a paid parking fee loaded on my app. i was told that before getting out, to show my ticket stub and my paid fee on the app, to the booth operator and everything will be hunky dory at the end of my stay at the garage, the booth operators told me they won’t honor the fee i already paid and that i have to contact Spothero. this was after i asked before i entered the garage about the procedure for payment with the Spothero app. so either Spothero or the garage or both are scamming me. either way, I AM OUT AN EXTRA $50, thanks to the Spothero app.

Saves so much time and money. Especially when parking in any big city I have saved so much money on parking , you don’t have to go through the stress of driving around and settling for a parking garage for $40. Have found all day parking for $10. Overnight parking for 10-20$ instead of $60-$80. You get to compare prices , shows all the surrounding rates as well. You can pay for it ahead of time and reserve your spot so you can just gps to the parking spot and check in. The garages are really up kept. Some with over night security. Sometimes valet . Never have had an issue. Great for taking day trips or weekend trips. LOVE THIS APP

Terrible Customer Service. I have used SpotHero numerous times in NYC and only had one issue that was not their fault. Until today. I prepaid for an overnight spot for $61 which in Manhattan is a reasonable price. When I arrived to pick up my car the attendant told me the price was $45. I told him I already prepaid $61 and there was nothing that he could do. I figured it would be an easy call to SpotHero to get my $16 refund. I was so wrong. Not only was I refused a refund, they suggested that I pay the lot the $45, send them the receipt, then I’d get a refund. So they wanted me to pay $106 for a $45 spot, and hope I get my money refunded. They wouldn’t trust me but I’m supposed to trust them. Not only that, the poor girl that answered the phone was thrown to wolves to try and resolve the matter as no supervisor would come to the phone. Not a way to run a business. It also makes me wonder if I just got lucky this time and was overcharged in the past as well.

Convenient and great customer service!. This app has given me peace of mind knowing that we will have a place to park when we reach our destination. Last week, we used it to reserve a spot for a baseball game, but when we arrived, the street was closed off to traffic. We ended up parking at a different lot and spending $10 more than we did for our reservation. Wasn’t sure whether I would receive a response from customer service, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear from them the very next day. They refunded the payment for my SpotHero reservation and gave me a credit for the $10 difference. I’m so pleased with how this situation was resolved and I will continue using SpotHero for all my parking needs. Thank you!

Best Parking App Ever!. Have used this app for over a year, parking in NYC and Washington DC. It allows you to choose your parking venue with a myriad of choices. The best part is, if your plans change and you cancel your reservation before the original start time they immediately issue a refund to your original payment method...no questions or hassles and it’s done right through the app. I used to use one certain parking garage in NYC and was a slave to their limited locations. With SpotHero you can choose any garage in their system and be assured that you are paying a reasonable price. Reservations are easy and changed plans are equally as easy. I wish I could rate this app 10 stars!

Never go to the city without reserving a spot!. I was VERY skeptic about this app at first. I’ve used this app MANY times with my husband every time we go into the city, and only ONCE (when I went by myself, of course) has it given me an issue! I ordered a spot for $10, and the garage was closed. The alternate entrances all denied my entrances. So with my frustration, I bought another spot for $20 for over night, (better than paying $55 for overnight). That one worked, no problem! After getting in, I addressed my issue via chat about my $10 spot and the next day, I received an email saying my return was processing already and that I should get my money back in 5-7 business days! Awesome and quick customer service!

Hides information. I wouldn’t recommend SpotHero for anyone who arrives early or wants more information. No where on the app does it say about consequences if you arrive early. We parked at a garage where we made a reservation through SpotHero. The directions for the garage through the app instructed that we scan the barcode and take a ticket. When trying to leave the garage we couldn’t get out and the place wanted us to paid the full amount. I called the help desk for the garage and they stated that If our reservation went through we didn’t need to take a parking ticket. The app lied about the process of the parking situation and didn’t state on the reservation that we couldn’t arrive early. We ended up paying for the full price of the garage on top of the SpotHero. I called SpotHero and the lady was rude and not helpful. I will tell my friends and family to not use this app and go with a different company.

Best app for cheap parking in NYC. I never pay for parking if I can help it, but, in NYC it’s close to impossible to find free street parking or even metered parking these days. SpotHero is an easy to use app, offers lots of parking options at excellent prices with a convenient map feature to see where the best prices are. My favorite feature is you’re able to click on the parking lots you’re considering to see if they offer extra time. Many give you 12 hours even though you pay for three. You can also set an alert when your parking is expiring and extend your time for a fraction of the cost without the app. I have saved thousands with SpotHero!

Not reliable, lack of follow-up by customer service. I used Spot Hero a few times. The 2nd to last time, the spot I booked was taken. I had to look for metered parking at the last minute. The last time, and final straw, I booked a garage near an interview I had in downtown Chicago. The garage was completely full. I circled around a few times but couldn’t wait around any longer and had no choice but to do valet parking at the place I was interviewing. You can imagine how expensive that turned out to be. When I contacted customer support online and submitted an inquiry for a refund, no one ever followed up with me. All in all, my experience with Spot Hero has been unreliable and disappointing. Their inventory of parking spots does not seem to be accurate. I would not depend on them to book a spot, especially for an important event like an interview or something you can’t be late to.

Brutal customer service. Paid Spothero $10 to park in an unmonitored lot that I could have parked in for $5 had I not used the App. Disclosures were inadequate and I had no idea what I was purchasing. With no one monitoring the lot there was no way they could have guaranteed me a spot had that lot been full. To make sure my car didn’t get towed I also purchased the $5 ticket and SpotHero has refused to reimburse my $10 fee. Customer service takes no accountability for a very poor customer experience and has been accusatory and rude with poor reading comprehension. They are demanding I provide the $5 receipt and are unwilling to reimburse the $10 fee. For such a small amount of money I expected them to make my life easier, not make this experience more painful over a measly $5. This is the second issue I’ve had in a month. I am deleting the app and switching to Parkwhiz.

Worst service EVER. If you like getting your car booted after paying for a parking spot please use this app. Hours were spent waiting for the boots to be removed, $70 removal fees, and then also told by the garage to pay them to park ($50) or my car would soon be booted again. This does not include the $15-$20 spent on spot hero parking space for the day. Long story short I came back to my car and found two wheels booted. Because I paid for a spot the spot hero support team told me I would be refunded.... well two months later, a long email chain later (I followed up over six times to receive an answer then had to call in (another hour on the phone) just to get to a resolution) they will not be refunding me. Primarily due to the reason that I did not let the valet workers park my car.... there was no valet stand and if you are like me you don’t like other people driving your car in the first place. It is a shame because I spend hundreds of dollars parking downtown each month- you think a large company would be kind (or smart?) enough to refund my $70 booting fee as they make that in profit off of me in a week or less. Now I will gladly pay double for parking just in hopes these thief’s go out of business. It’s not even about the money- it’s the point. If I could give a negative star rating I would. No one I know will ever use this app ever.

Awful cancellation policy. I couldn’t cancel my reservation after I paid for it. This was my first time using this app (and probably my last). My reservation was from 12:30p-3:30p. By the time I downloaded the app, created an account and entered my payment information, it was just passed 12:40p or so. I then realized the garage I chose was too far from my location but your app only has a 1 minute window to cancel from the time of the reservation not the time of payment. I never used the reservation but they kept the money. I would've liked my money back and they have to make the cancellation window bigger in case something happens. Or better yet, if a reservation isn’t used at all, the customer shouldn’t have to pay for it. Simple.

Customer Service. I recently had a bad experience with a reservation not being honored and a second I made at the moment which I couldn’t get to. I eventually parked without using spot hero. I called Spot Hero and spoke with Kathi who was incredible. She was professional and sincere. She immediately refunded my first charge with an apology for my experience and told me how to obtain the refund for the second one ( which only involved an email) She followed up with me by email several times to keep me informed. There are bound to be some unfortunate incidents with individual vendors in a large city like New York, but the customer service provided by Kathi will keep me as a customer.

Can’t fulfill their end of the deal. The garages they contract with keep turning me away upon arrival. From talking with the reps, this sounds pretty routine and is very inconvenient. Even worse, this time it made me miss an important part of my niece’s graduation because it took more than 45 minutes to resolve the issue. They don’t seem to have any leverage or inclination to make the garages meet their obligations. They also don’t seem to hold them accountable for this or even get them a process to decline or cancel a reservation in advance. Even a rating system that tells customers how often a garage declines a reservation arrival would be helpful. It seems they’re as dependable as just showing up and hoping there’s an open garage except that they’re more expensive and like locking your refunds in ‘credits’ instead of returning that money to the customer directly. Might as well just skip this app entirely.

Ripped me off, customer support not helpful. I was on vacation going to a baseball game , I reserved a 10 dollar spot to park a few blocks away. It turns out there were plenty of spots for that price available nearby but that wasn’t the issue as I had used this spot before . I tried to input my make / model / and license plate number to the app numerous times before and during parking but was receiving an error. The help feature of the app said if this is the case to pay for parking on site and that “We Got You” . So I paid on site which was 15 dollars. I had screenshots of the error as well as a picture of my receipt which I emailed customer support . I got a response asking for what time I left the spot , which I told them . After that they stopped responding to me . The experience was way worse than the 15 bucks it cost me . Disappointed in the customer service for this app.

Very Disappointing Experience. I liked the idea of SpotHero a lot, but when we got to the parking lot that I had reserved and paid for, the parking lot did not exist. It looked like the parking lot had been closed for some time. We drove around a couple times to make sure but after realizing the parking lot wasn’t open, I immediately called a representative from SpotHero. While he was extremely helpful and apologetic (and helped book another parking lot for us), I was very disappointed that SpotHero did not catch this error earlier, as this caused a lot of stress. We came to the city for a concert and we were almost late to it because we had to spend extra time figuring out our parking situation when I wanted to avoid this from happening by using SpotHero. We were lucky that we left a little early so we didn’t miss the concert, but unfortunately, I am not sure I will use this app again or recommend it because of this poor experience.

Don’t Bother. The only good thing I can say about Spot Hero is that it was easy to cancel. When I went into the hotel with my Spot Hero reservation, expecting to be directed to their garage where their App indicated I would be parking for the 12 days I had reserved a space, I was told that since I would be gone for over a week, I would need to park in a department store garage two blocks away and that there would be an attendant who would bring us back to the hotel to catch their airport shuttle that left twice an hour. As that meant that I would miss the shuttle that was leaving in 15 minutes, I expect that would have added an hour, (not to mention the inconvenience of dragging two heavy suitcases from one shuttle to another), to the time it would take to get to the airport. So I cancelled and parked in the airport lot. The $36 I would have saved was not worth the hassle and time associated with taking two shuttles to the airport and parking in a garage that I felt was less secure than the hotel garage.

You get what you pay for. I booked a $25 parking space east side of Chicago. Arrived at lot to park in a space I had already reserved and paid for. Gentleman owner asked me to move my vehicle to the alleyway behind the lot. I was suspicious but went about my day. Came back several hours later to find the parking lot and alleyway jam-packed with vehicles. He even had people parking in non-parking spaces! I found my vehicle trapped amongst other vehicles. I found the owner still selling parking spaces that he didn’t have. I asked him to move vehicles so that I would be able to leave. He would say things like “few more minutes”, “ten more minutes”. I waited a whole hour for him to move vehicles out of my way. Horrible experience and huge waste of time. I went to Spot Hero with my issue and they awarded me a $5 credit to my Spot Hero account to compensate my trouble. Very dissatisfied.

Pay TWICE the price. Used it yesterday for the first time. Paid $26 dollars for a garage on the weekend. Seemed fine so I used it again for parking at the same garage today. Before I took out my phone the attendant pulled up the parking amount for the weekend and it came up $15. I asked “wait, the price on the weekend is $15 dollars?” And she answered “yes it’s always been $15 dollars “. So I paid $26 dollars using the app for a $15 dollar spot. Decided to do a test. I park at this garage almost every day during the week and it’s $27 dollars. Put the exact in and out times into SpotHero for Monday parking and it’s price was $50 dollars. Almost double the amount. Should change the App name to PriceDoubler. *******I must say their customer Service is Excellent. When I called to complain about being over charged Kathi immediately credited my account for the over charge. I added a star for that reason ********
