Please Offer a “Lifetime Pro” Option. I had this app on on my old iPhone with a different Apple ID, and it was great. Made all of the one-time purchases to get the pro features and support the developer. I re-downloaded the app on my new iPhone / Apple ID, and was disappointed to discover that the developer has moved to a subscription only model, complete with highly-intrusive ads. Not every app should require a subscription. Please offer a “lifetime pro” option (like the Apollo Reddit app) for those of us who don’t like subscriptions. I’d be willing to make a one-time payment of $20 - $30, but right now you are getting nothing from me because I refuse to pay for a subscription to this type of app.

....He’s dead Jim.. After the most recent update this app has become unusable. I can accept a scanner feed being temporarily down or unavailable but when an app fails to load on first launch or becomes severely crippled by pop-up Ad’s to the point of having to completely close the app and start over, this is absolutely unacceptable. Also, this app use to work great when launched in Apple CarPlay, but now the feeds just shuffle around the screen when tapped and never loads the selected choice. Every few months I upgrade the free version of any app on my phone that I enjoy, to paid versions to support the developers. I had planned to pay for this app but now I consider this app completely broken and not worth paying for. This free version will end up in a drawer until a functional version is offered.

Great but.... I’ve always had this app, for years It’s been on every phone I’ve had. But lately certain places aren’t working, when it says there’s hundreds of listeners. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, turned off my phone, gotten an update and still nothing. It’ll say it’s playing but absolutely no sound comes out, but other places work fine. I thought it was only my phone but my daughters phone is the same. It’ll say there’s hundreds of listeners, when I’m getting absolutely no sound.

Scanner Radio overview. Fast access into breaking news national headline stories from the front lines. When you listen to alerts, you have a front row seat as police arrive and set up perimeters and search. You’ll hear them discuss how to deal with media and where to set up news interview posts and how the strategically plan to search for shooters. I was alerted to the tragic shootings in Las Vegas, Pittsburgh and at the country dance hall in Northern California. I over heard a pilot of a major airline on landing approach to Tampa International airport radio the control tower that he “just hit birds.” Excellent quality overall but depends on the monitoring source.

Very inconsistent. Whenever Police cars whiz by my home, I immediately log on to this scanner app to try to learn what’s happening. Then..... crickets. No talking, no chatter. Just silence and an occasional check in from a remote location. Maybe I don’t know exactly how this app is supposed to work? But it’s not for keeping up with current events in the town. (Feel free to educate me on the purpose of the app and I’ll be happy to remove this rating!) UPDATE: 9/2. the app provider gave me the broadcast location to solicit feedback. I’ll send them a note directly and see if I can make progress. Upgraded to 4 stars for the kind customer service

Ridiculous ads. I just installed the app to check it out. Wasted 5 minutes of my life I can’t get back. Sounded like a nice addition to my CarPlay. I put on Parsippany NJ police. I heard one call after a few minutes. During that time there was a slot machine ad on the screen. No big deal. Then the entire screen became one big flashing ad with screaming audio. (Great way to cause an accident so I can listen to the police coming to cut me out of my truck) I deleted the app and came here to hopefully warn someone else before they wasted their time. Pop up ads are ok. I usually pay after a few days or trial anyway, but to insert a full screen ad with someone yelling something on an app I’m going to use while I’m driving tells me the developers aren’t too bright. I have to assume that lack of brilliance extends to all aspects of the app.

5 Stars. I have used this scanner for a long time. It used to have issues but they’ve fixed it. It’s worked fine for a couple of years. I love it. No other scanner I have found can compare to this one. And that’s without the Pro version. Idk what Pro has to offer that’s different. One thing I’d like to see is a chat for the scanner. Idk if that’s possible, but it would be great if we could communicate with people who are also listening, and who might be in the area. A lot of us are True Crime reporters.

Payment and ads!. I’m a subscriber but each month I have a day or two that I get ads and this month I can’t seem to get rid of them or listen to the app that I pay for. It typically happens around the time my payment is due which is paid automatically. If this doesn’t stop I will switch apps as it is very frustrating to pay for something not to have ads and every month before my due date or at my due date I get these ads. Please do something about this or I’m switching! Now I can’t send a review without nick naming it! And every nick name seems to be taken!

If your review is bad, it will be deleted!. I wrote a review stating that I purchased Scanner Radio Pro back when that’s what this app was called, and there was a free version and a pro version. Now it has apparently changed to where you need a subscription. I thought it was unfair that I had to pay twice. So I suggested the idea that maybe SRPro owners should get a year sub for free to make up for the fact that they paid full price already once before. Developer response was not even close. Told me to “restore purchases”. Obviously he did not read everything. “Restore purchases” comes back with “no subscription found”. Proving that suggestion pointless. So I lowered my rating by one star because he did not actually read any detail. After which he deleted my review.

Easy to Use App. This is a very easy to use app. Free version comes with advertisements, but the ads are very unobtrusive and do not detract from user experience. Has a great variety of choices from police, fire, air control & more. Recommend LAPD “Hot Shot” frequency for pretty dramatic special operations including coordination between police helicopter & ground units. My son is a professional firefighter & EMT. I enjoy keeping the app playing in the background while he’s on duty. Makes it more fun to have a conversation about his work experiences when I’ve heard the radio traffic between dispatch, command, & his unit.

Actually is so good. Story time: My and my friend were going somewhere at 10:30pm last night. We see 7 cop cars in the span of 3 minutes. All lights and sirens on, all speeding to one direction. My friend pulled up this app and we figured out they’re all looking for this felon. They were chasing him and lost track when he/she car drove on the wrong side of the road. It felt surreal, we were so hyped. When we got to our destination which was in the area we listened in the car for about 10 minutes lol

Not Receiving. I live in a highly populated area in SE Texas and in the largest county of the state, so there should be no shortage of radio traffic for my area. Having said that I can receive all of Houston PD traffic but very little if any traffic from the Sheriff or Constable and no traffic from any EMS/EMD in the area. I’m curious as to why that is occurring as I’ve had this app for quite some time and have had any issues until about December 2021. The last time I reviewed I gave y’all a 5 but not this time. I’ll change it back if my issues can be resolved.

Alert Filtering Enhancement. The app is a great scanner listening tool. Works well and is very stable. I have used several different scanner apps and this is now my go-to app. In particular I love the alert functionality! I do have an enhancement request/suggestion. Please consider adding the ability to filter alerts, possibly to restrict alerts by country (ie US only) and also the ability to hide certain feed alerts. With no disrespect to the feed provider, I really am not personally interested in receiving alerts for Elko, NV twenty times a day. I certainly respect the providers zeal and passion but not being anywhere near there, I really don’t need to know about every minor event. Thank you!

Great app but IOS15 has an issue. Hello, I’ve enjoyed your app over the years. Yesterday I upgraded to the iPhone 13 pro max with IOS 15.0. I installed the app and listened in for an hour or so this afternoon. I closed the app but it continues to play. I tried several times to stop the app from playing but ultimately had to uninstall it. Yes I do know how to close an app on this new phone and SW version. It’s not something I’m doing wrong, there is a bug with this combo. Hope you’re able to get it fixed soon so I can get back to listening in.

Can’t turn off ads again. I understand adds but I want to end them at some time Someone is hiding the actual pixel to hit the “ x “ And the app stops the radio until it stops having the adds up Also I read the review from the vet He says he only gives 4 star ratings Yet graphic shows 5 star rating I hope that this is real vet review Because this could be stolen valor if some is making money from this review I still like the app it’s a good way to stay out of the police and firefighters doing their jobs and let me know what’s happening in my area

Not receiving notification. I’ve had notifications set for this app for both local and worldwide alerts once a scanner was over a certain amount of listeners. I know if 4000 people are listening to a scanner, something major is going on. I don’t remember when, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve received alerts. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve checked my phone settings, and alerts are enabled as they are in the app. I really like the app & like being in the know. Thanks PS I didn’t know of any other way of getting in touch.

Great. I found this app a few years ago. Glad I did because is great. Always comes in well, you can see what the top departments are being listened to at the very moment. It will list the situation going on in a certain place. I have noticed some places being taken down, but it has nothing to do with the app. It’s the people adding the certain companies that dictates who’s on and who’s not. All in all, great app if your a fire buff, police buff, ambulance chaser, or just wondering why sirens are going off near me? Great app, check it out.

UPDATE : Features Working! my goto App. Back in May I talked about the app stopping working. I never could get the alerts to work. Eventually Gordon the developer and I began emailing (he’s extremely responsive!) and eventually I deleted and re-downloaded the app over the course of a month or so along with some troubleshooting. The latest download cleared the problem on my IPhoneX. This may very well have been a corrupted file on my own device all along. Regardless. Can’t recommend this enough. Great app and great support! Earlier post from May: For years this was my go to app. Having come from first law enforcement and now own a media company for past 15 years. This would always notify me of something happening anywhere in the country if the listeners met a certain threshold. It no longer does that as before. You can manually go in and look. But it’s not automatic. Still decent for manual listening. But the loss of auto notify is a big disappointment.

Great Performance, etc. Great app! Does exactly what it’s supposed to as far as connecting me with local dispatch and fire information. Even better, it provides features like finding local and abroad channels for me. I just tap and can listen as in. The amount of ads is tolerable. Of course, for a couple bucks a month you can get rid of the ads and gain some impressive features. THANK YOU for the this great app! Also, thank you to the every day heroes like police officers, firefighters, EMT’s, those who serve and are veterans, doctors and hospitals, scientists, to our government, and patriots who keep our Nation safe and secure.

A must-have for travelers!. As an over the road truck driver, I find this app to be indispensable in routing myself around traffic jams due to accidents or other incidents such as the shootings in Las Vegas that I was less than 15 miles away from when they happened... A few things that would be helpful if it is possible to implement would be: 1- In the broadcastify alerts, if the abbreviation for the state could be included. That way, depending on my route, I could determine whether it will impact me or not. 2- If there were a way to actually add my routing using major freeways, so that those came up as a ‘special alert’ then I could again, determine if a route change was in order. Also, I did not see a way to contact the developer from within the app, unless I missed it..? Overall, this app is my go-to to keep track of all of the areas where my loved ones live, as well as wherever I travel and I don’t know what I would do without it!

Ads to much. Your ads are entirely too long and very annoying and you make it very hard to figure out how to close it down after it’s done half the time it ends up opening up another ad other than that the actual application the service that you provide is very quality the ads have to go people rely on this app for real time information when you have an app cut it out and go on for a minute and a half that could be somebody’s life or freedom gone just like that I would suggest making it so that you make people watch a series of ads before they can start the service, but don’t interrupt it at any point

Police Scanner. I like this app and there are many jurisdictions available. It is quite addictive to listen to everything that is happening in my County. It is also evident that we have a very serious drug problem in this country in general based on the high number of overdose emergencies I have heard so far. One issue is that my local Police, Fire and EMS scanner goes offline and there seems to be no way to report it. The Fire and EMER is usually online but I personally prefer the police calls. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the app itself.

Obnoxious Ads. Ads come on blaringly loud and block the ability to maneuver on the site for a lengthy time and sometimes even freezes in front with the sound in the back ground. Otherwise, if you are able to get to it, the scanner function is really nice. You can pay a bunch of money to get rid of the ads, which is probably why they make the ads so obnoxious. It didn’t used to be that way. You watched a couple of useful ads and then used the scanner. But now the ads are so obnoxious that you just shut the volume off, ignore the screen, and just wait for the scanner to start.

Ads, ads, ads. Advertisers and app makers are going about the ad situation all wrong. It is absolutely ridiculous to be listening to a police feed or an EMS feed and then be interrupted by a movie about a bingo game that goes on for what seems like an eternity causing you to miss the feed. I have made a point to not ever purchase or play a single game that interrupts my apps with a small movie and I can only hope others join me in this. If I wanted to watch TV, I would go to a streaming app or turn on Xfinity. The app is fine if I didn’t have to watch movies trying to get me to play bingo, or wood block version of Tetris.

Best scanner app in the App Store, period. I’ve tried dozens, and no other scanner app compares. There still room for improvement, and some features that I don’t understand why nobody ads. For example, let’s create a Scanner app that actually lets us scan multiple channels… I don’t see any technical reason why you couldn’t monitor two or more at once. That said, I’m giving it five stars because of how it compares to all of the other apps in the store. Not holding back because of the new features that I’d like to see. This developer has been rolling out updates frequently, the user interface is already the best there is, and I hope to see more and more updates going forward.

Terrible Distracting Ads Deliberately Interferes App. During these times it’s important to keep up with what’s going on in your community. For this reason I downloaded the app. The app does what it’s supposed to when you’re finally able to get at it. But lately ads layer over on top of the app - over and over and over - no matter how many times you try to close them and start the free app. On top of that clicking close often leads you OUT of the app and into the App Store. Once you actually get to the app it’s great. There are many fine features and includes aids. But this kind of advertising behavior should not be allowed.

After two weeks of comparing all scanner apps…. After two weeks of comparing all scanner apps, this one is far the best. 5 stars! The interface is clean, clips feature is nice, and shareable link is very useful. The alerts are great too. The app is worth $3/mo. A companion watch app would be perfect. I noticed it did not list some nearby frequencies that other iOS police scanner apps did, so it may not have all of them. Maybe an option to type in your own?

This app is getting bad. Kept having a problem of the application stop playing audio with a pop up of “Failure to retrieve” now I have to stay on the app screen to be able to use it that is with the setting of “audio mixing” set to on. I have tried uninstalling to fix the problem but definitely not going to pay for something that all features don’t work. Hopefully it gets resolved but in the meantime I’m no longer using this application.

Las Vegas always goes offline on fire alarms Don’t buy. I purchased this app for the specific purpose of Fire calls and airport emergencies in Clark County, Las Vegas Nevada. Most every time a structure or commercial fire alarm is reported the app goes offline and listeners are unable to hear dispatch or fire units communicating. This also occurs at the same time a airport emergency comes in at McCarran airport all reported by another app called Pulse Point which provides alerts to all fire calls in Las Vegas Nevada. I don’t recommend buying Polive Scanner or Broadcastify scanner apps in Las Vegas. Most police and fire scanners are operated by Broadcastify App which I recommend not to purchase this app either which is the main feed to all other police and fire scanners. Buyer beware.

Essential App. This app is essential for me as I do animal rescue and go into lots of shady neighborhoods. I like to know what’s going on around me. Plus, in this day and age, every driver should know what’s going on. I’ve been able to avoid shootings and car chases because of this app. If the channels you listen to are garbled it’s not the apps fault as most of the time it’s the individual who’s providing the feed. And if you don’t like ads, pay the developer for their work. Nothing comes free in this world that’s worth anything. They aren’t just developing these apps to give you free jollies.

Get over the ads!. They are ads, get over it. You click the scanner you want, and it loads. You get out of the app and you can listen all day long. Heaven forbid you have to see one or two ads. Would you rather the app just got taken off the App Store? This is the Be app ever. So simple and the most accurate. Wish you could select specific channels (like which specific police dpt or fire dpt within the county) that way you don’t hear only parts of the transmissions, but I’m sure that is due to who is broadcasting. Great police scanner. I tested this app side by side with my police scanner, the exact same sector, to see about how long of a delay there is between the actual police scanner vs the scanner on this app, I used my stopwatch on my iPad to test the time - I can tell you that there is about 1 minute delay from when you hear the the calls on this app. If you don’t mind hearing the police calls 1 minute later, you will live this app. I can also tell you that you can hear both sides of the conversation between the dispatcher and the police that get that call. Not bad at all.

Greedy Platform. I have no problem with an ad based app, but when the only way to get rid of the ad is to click a link that takes you to the play store, that’s out of line. This all functions well, when it’s not busy redirecting you and covering up the scanner feed with crap. The stuff they advertise isn’t even relevant or worth considering…predatory casino app and bingo apps. So, due to their persistent, unethical and annoying advertising that takes you away from the platform, they get one star from me.

Best scanner app out there!!!. This is the BEST scanner app out there! I have only had ONE issue with the app since I purchased it well over a year ago. Up until then it has ALWAYS worked as advertised. The app was having issues last night and they fixed them as soon as they could. I did open a ticket with the app owner about the issue. They reached back out to me about the open ticket and explained they were having server issues.

I too purchased this app.... *Edited* went back & found my receipt. It was the same app but the name was scanner911 so the name has changed. That's why it won't find out past purchases I love this application and paid for the full upgrade years ago specify for the option to get notifications when "so" many people were listening at once. It wants me to pay again. I'm confused that you say there was never an option to upgrade. Are you the original developer or did you aquire it?

If I could give it 5 stars I would. I absolutely love this app, it’s super informative and interesting to listen to different events across the world. That being said, it could use some improvements. The biggest I could see helping the app would be furthering the range of options for the ‘What’s happening right now?’ button. This could help attract users to the different channels when something happens. Another thought would be to add a transcript of the radio traffic in the large empty space in the center of the UI, sometimes the output or input is fuzzy but having a transcript could help listeners understand the situation better. That being said, the app is great and I applaud whoever created it- I would highly recommend this app over others on the market.

Listen up. Retired U S Air Force aircraft maintenance technician have several radios amateur radio equipment license trained weather spotter private pilot license in progress while watching and monitoring weather on my computer radars this scanner allows for listening monitor the area first responders and what is happening in real time in the affected area tornadoes flooding and all other weather events then the aviation bands marine bands and even railroads have used this scanner 30 minutes after getting it and it is fantastic has everything of interest to me

Useful!. This is a very useful app and I use it a lot. One request though: please be selective in what ads you allow upon startup. The recent ads are not okay here. I opened up the app yesterday and was hearing our local sheriff arrive on a scene and then his words were drowned out by all this screaming! It was alarming and I thought I was about to get called out for an EMS run but it turns out it was an ad for some game and the cartoon character was falling down a chute and screaming. It was not okay to have that screaming overlay a cops radio traffic. Please go back to ads with no sound and certainly not screaming.

Still the best but wish I could test the themes. Out of all the scanner applications I have tried this one is still the best. A big thank you to the developer for making the recent updates. I chose to purchase the option to remove ads once it became available and now I see there is also an option to purchase the ability to change the theme. I do wish there was a way that we could try the themes before we commit to the purchase. I am visually impaired and believe the black theme may be of benefit but don’t want to waste the money if it does not end up being that way. Even if only a 24 hour test run it would be nice.

Real world app. Pretty interesting because you can hear actual law enforcement officers and emergency personnel talking in real time, both about what’s going on and other things like clocking in and out. Can’t always tell what’s going on, though. Sometimes big gaps in activity. So the novelty might wear off after a while. But definitely a learning experience. You can listen in on a big newsworthy event anywhere in the country or just little things going on around you. Some international locations as well, though not much.

Police scanner~brief review. The San Mateo Law Enforcement frequency on this scanner is a great way to stay informed in nearly real-time communication of the events that transpire outside our walls and in the community 24/7 that are handled by the Men & Women charged with safety. crime prevention and so much more. It doesn’t take too long to learn the codes and phonetic alphabet so understanding what is happening outside, becomes like looking through a window at what life’s drama impacts so many lives being played out in our streets. It can be tragic, sad, comical and most of all it is the reality of the on duty professional voices, those Officers whom face fearlessly into the abyss everyday. Only Remaining Option for Transparency. I work as a local media source for our small town. The police department has invested in an encrypted program that does not allow our old scanners to hear what is happening. Despite having all of the county’s transmissions, which can honestly be confusing, I’m grateful to have at least some insight into what is happening using your app. We get our reports from the police but there is no oversight on whether what happened in the report is true or not. (Note, our police dept is not corrupt and we have had no problems), but this leaves your app as our only means for oversight. It’s also a valuable resource during storms and other area emergencies. I know staff at our hospital use it to stay informed, as well. Please do whatever you can to continue.

Loveeee. I love how if I’m in very heavy traffic I can put it on and the county I’m in. To then find out how serious of a car accident is ahead to mentally prepare for the long wait. I also love how there’s a sleep timer cuz I like listening before bed because night time is when a lot of things go down. It also helps to show you what different calls our police officers take and all that they do. Even if the call isn’t serious they still make it to the place there called

Disappointing. As soon as you download the app you have to sign up for a “free trial.” There are only a few days to check out the app. Luckily, I only needed a few minutes. I wanted an app to find out about things going on in my area—not 50 miles away. Completely useless! Update: I received a message from the developer. I guess my review wasn’t clear. They replied that if I subscribed, I wouldn’t see any ads and I’d have access to many scanners. To the developer: You can’t even access the app without “subscribing,” this is how I know that’s how I know that none of the scanners are helpful because they are at least 50 miles away—as stated in my original review. It’s probably a great app for those living in those areas and as the app is highly rated. I’m disappointed that it is not at all useful to me and that I received an even less useful response.

Great app, just a couple points. Some county frequencies like Albany in NY distinguish by municipality while scanning, but others do not. It would be great if more did. Also, it seems clear that you would like users to upgrade to the ad-free subscription version. I understand that. I choose not to. I understand that means I’m subjected to ads, but some of these are really aggressive. There sometimes are no options for me to exit one ad without going to another one. This can go on for several minutes. That makes it more difficult to get to information that I need, especially if there’s a weather emergency. Are you aware of that? if so, perhaps you can tone these ads down.

Advertising is intrusive. Advertising on this app forces you unless clicked to download apps onto your phone from advertisers. Otherwise you can’t go back to the app unless you close and open again. I’m sure there is a better option. This app is collecting lots of information. It’s concerning. I loved it but it seems they go out of their way to make it bad with advertising and frustrating at the free level to force an upgrade which it’s not worth paying for. They don’t create the feeds or monitor them. The app simply listens to open channels. It’s not worth all the nonsense apps they want you to download. You would have a million on your phone using this app if you click the wrong spot. Feeds are great but it’s headed in the wrong direction.

The intrusive ads are really annoying. The developers need to figure something else out for their ad revenue because these current ads need to go. I get that they’re a necessary evil for utilizing free apps but the full screen ads that last upwards of a full minute that you’re forced to sit through and then force you to go to the App Store before it starts the timer to finally close it is the most aggressive and intrusive ad marketing I’ve ever seen. It’s just absurd. Not to mention the ads are for some cartoonish boomer game like casino or bingo. No one plays that crap. If you can muscle your way past these annoying ads, the app is okay. But the ads.. man, the ads are infuriating. I implore the developers to come up with something better than this.

Lovd this app. I have used this add since it came out. I always listened to the Chicago district 10 scanner and apparently somethings up with it. I dont know if it the app or the scanner itself, in any case I still have many scanners to listen to. I absolutely love the alert option, I just wish you could maybe turn off some alerts like fire alerts. I get so many of those I thinking of not using that feature. So maybe being able to turn on or off alerts. Just a thought. Other then that I love it.

It’s great but.... It’s great for all of us but, I think a lot of people are kids who have the app. I think a lot of people have the app because people want to know if police say there names. Me I just want it to listen to and not to know if my name gets said. So I think it’s a great app and stuff all my friends have it, but I think that it’s should be 18+ because little children might have it and that could be really bad. My mum even has this app 😂 she loves it so much. I was so like to my friends has any of the people you know got said. This app is great! 🙂

RFS app. A must for everyone in a possible fire zone. Great to hear how our firefighting heroes get on with the task calmly and competently ...... very reassuring.

Incredibly informative. Although stressful, listening to the latest NSW fire emergency helps us stay informed when we have close friends right in the middle of the fire path. Can’t thank the NSW firefighters enough, they just get the job done!

Was good until ads starting taking over. I have used this app for the last few years to listen to CFA scanner and it has been fantastic.......until yesterday when all of a sudden ads started to appear. Great app. Good app, well laid out and easy to use. Was very useful last week during the bushfires, and no doubt will be in the future - though keep in mind not all fire services across all states are on here... so check that out before paying for the pro features.

Wollombi/Laguna/Paynes Crossing Fires. Excellent resource as we evacuated our property due to surrounding bush fire activity in the Lower Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia. Heartening to hear fire truck comms in the area. They are heroes. The fires are massive.

Fee fir ad removal. Great app. I paid to have ads removed however that function doesn’t seem to work. Comes up as ‘no purchases on this account’ when ‘restore purchase’ is selected after paying the fee. Hope an update to fix that comes soon ......

From an area under fire threat the ability to hear what’s happening ‘on the ground’ is informative and comforting; listening to those calm voices reporting on crucial decisions and the status of activities. A great adjunct to those other resources that help those monitoring a potential threat.

Peace of mind. Love being able to listen in and occasionally hear my partners voice or father in law talking away. It’s a good way to relax when they are out fighting fires. Good for families, should be advertised so people know this exists.

Works very well. I use it for my volunteer fire fighter role when I don’t have access to my vehicle radio or portable. It is only limited by the upload.

Police Scanner. Takes way too long to load, doesn’t have all of the Police Bands.

Misleading. Claims to be a radio scanner, is able to let you tune in to emergency service scanners but doesn’t actually play their conversations. Sat next to a real scanner on the same channel and the app gave nothing while the scanner gave voice

Keeps glitching. Don’t hate it I think it good But annoying when it will not connect to your area most of the time worked fine for a day or so then stopped connecting to my area. Will pick up other areas Also it seem nearly every nickname is taken when you write a review

There needs to be capabilities to record as an audio file on Iphone like i can do with my samsung with this app, not sure if thats possible or not with the apple systems. its my single only complaint. * Note to users - for thepeople in here whinging about lack of emergency services in certain states in OZ or blaming this app itself, its best you learn about how all this works and operates - the volunteers, the hosts, the feeds, before blaming any developer.

Essential during bushfires. We could not have survived through the 2020 bushfires without this scanner. It helped us make decisions and be safe.

Garbage.. This app used to be awesome. Now it’s a spammy pile of ad-riddled garbage. The subscription fee is a joke. Just offer an ad-free premium version like every other app.

Dead air 97% of the time. Does what it says it does but it’s dead air 97% of the time and you miss half of it by the time they talk. The all is okay but the system is crap

CANNOT CLOSE ADS. This is almost hijackware, it prob is actually... Bad enough so many ads but JUST TRY clicking the close button, it reposition elsewhere on screen, click again, force opens browser ANYWAYS. I DO NOT want to be forced to slimy sketchy probably virus filled crap webpages. The Close button obviously DOESNT WORK. a UPDATE: it only got worse... distinguishes ABUSIVE level of obstructive ads. DELETING this c*** before it infects my machine

Notification Issue. For some strange reason I am not receiving the Alert notifications even though I have notifications turned on

Garbage. Works for less than a minute then the sound shuts off and you have to watch an ad or 2 and then you can listen again but LESS THAN A MINUTE and it repeats the cycle. Audio/video adds make the app almost unusable with Voiceover, major accessibility issue.. I’m visually impaired/blind and rely on the IOS screenreader (Voiceover) to navigate my device. The adds that play at the very start of the 1st stream, after launching the app are so loud/obnoxious, I can’t even hear the screenreader, in order to find the close button, if there is even one available in an accessible manner. 9 times out of 10, I have to completely close the app and relaunch it.

Now loaded with ads. After the recent update the app is an ad app.

Only available on WIFI?. I bought the ad-free on 2 devices only to discover it only runs on wifi. No options to add it to work on cellular like other iPhone apps. Works great it, but I would really like it if I could get it to work off cellular. Not much help if you’ve been evacuated from fires or are travelling. :(

Horrible lately. Whether it’s the update or the new subscription options, I’ve had to remove it almost every time I’m on it. Ads are outrageous and freezes the app so not useable.

Ads volume are way too loud. Can you put some control in the volume of the ads I have my volume low when the ads start they blast me can we fix that. And the ads are crashing the app. Also can’t close some ads I have to restart the app and go through the blasted ad volume just to close it.

Buffers. Paid for pro and it’s hit or miss. Most time it just buffers. I have given up on it and moved on.

Too may ads. I like the app and understand that ads generate revenue. However a monthly subscription to remove ads is ridiculous and the ads are to many and play for to long. I would be willing to pay a reasonable one time fee to remove the ads. Has potential to be a great app. Response to developer: Yes, many times two and sometimes three adds appear. Also if only one they are 30 seconds or more without a way to cancel ad prior to completion. Even if you could cancel half way through it would be better. Like I said, great potential and would pay a reasonable one time fee to get rid of adds.

Specify it. It said what’s going on now it said shooting and stuff like that so I taped one and it said thanks for helping the neighbor hood when I thought it meant see what’s going on like a broadcast about that thing.

Police scanner. I bought this scanner for no ads since then it has not played my area muskoka opp !! It shows offline since I paid for it . Broadcast has not reimbursed my payment of 60 dollars feel like I’ve been scammed write in several complaints but that didn’t help either. Very upset with this scanner just says offline hope this is not happening to anyone else !!!

Ads make it so it is paused and you miss the call!. This app used to be great until they changed it so you can’t hear the call until the 30 second ad plays all the way through! You use to be able to hear the call while it played but they changed it. Now if the sirens are going off you might as well use a different app to listen to because you will miss the call.

Good app but ads sometimes take over. I have enjoyed this app for a couple of years. Lately they have ads for casino type games that come up and take over the feed usually at startup. There is no way to close the ad even after it plays through. Sometimes they have an x that looks like you could close the ad but it directs you to play store to download the game. The only way to get rid of the ad is to close the app and restart it.

This is the Scanner App you want!. I’ve been using this app for about 5-6 years and I go to say this is by far the best scanner app. Until very recently they’ve updated the look and having an iPhone X it was nice to see the app fit my phone screen instead of seeing those ugly black bars at the bottom and top of my phone. My only complaint has to be the lack of the ability to rewind and the ability view archives like you can do on the Broadcastify website. Maybe create a Scanner Pro version of the app with these abilities. I’d definitely buy it. Other than that I think it’s a great app. The 10 codes should be taken off though as police codes aren’t the same throughout the country. But nonetheless GREAT app. Hope to continue to see those frequent updates. Keep up the good work.

Ads That Come on During Emergencies. I gave four stars because the app works as advertised. My biggest gripe is about the type of ads it shows. I know companies need ads but maybe they should rethink not having video/audio ads. They should only have picture and banner ads, NO AUDIO. To be listening to the emergency about a fire or a tornado only to have interrupted by a audio and video ad about online gambling or mobile games is irresponsible and not right.

👍. I like this app. It is handy when something happens local and I can turn this on and see what is happening. Except I have missed the initial dispatch. I hate that there is a hum all the time even when ppl are talking. I would like it better and give a higher star rating if more local departments were available. There is one specific that is not available and I don’t know why. It is a highway patrol and every other district in the state is available. It is also cool to be able to listen to basically any where in the country or world. There also are ads in the way now that did not use to be there but I can deal with that. Definitely would recommend.

Alerts and news are difference makers!. The built-in notifications that you are able to customize for listener number alerts and the additional new bulletin section are key pieces of why I’ve switched to this app as my go-to. This app delivers the simplicity of finding your local feeds, while also delivering robust access to worldwide and critical weather feeds. Unmatched feature set among all of the apps I’ve used throughout the years!

Works perfect!. I love this app! It has its moments just like any other app. But as long as you live in a city that it covers, its worth the few bucks to upgrade if you like listening to what’s really going on rather then what the local news lies to you about. I listen to it a lot while I’m at work since I have a wife and little one’s. Just in case something is happening close to where they are, I can warn them, and hopefully keep them safe and out of harms way.

Why Pay For No Ads?. I loved this application until about two weeks ago, or so. I paid for no ads. With ads, you miss what is going on while waiting for the ad to close. Even though I have paid for this feature, ads are popping up again when I open the app. I have checked my subscription (it’s current). I have canceled and reinstated it. It is still happening. Will this be fixed, or should I just cancel my subscription?

Advertisements galore:. I’ve tried for a long time like this app but I’m not able to listen to emergency services because I’m constantly bombarded with obnoxious advertisements. Even worse, is there is no way to bypass these ads, so they play full out while you could be listening to the events as they happen. I know they want people to purchase the the “Pro” app but making the free version unlistenable with these horribly obnoxious ads is beyond. I don’t play these silly games they are pushing and I don’t want buy the “Pro” version. I’m moving on to find a more user friendly scanner app. It doesn’t even deserve a one star rating.

Removal of Ads. UPDATE: Developer sent me the fix for my problem. I’m back to no ads!! 😊 It works great. My complaint isn’t about the functioning of the app. My problem is with ad removal process. My new phone will be the third time I’ve switched phones since I’ve had this app. I’ve had it for many years. I’ve paid to remove ads twice now, and I don’t think you should have to paid every time you switch devices. I find it a bit ridiculous. I know it’s only a few dollars, but imagine if you had to repurchase everything on your phone every time you switched devices.

Broken?? Must be!. Latest upgrade must have broke it. My favorites are all gone. It won’t even load any feeds - none. It’s broken and as I see in other comments, apparently the dev is copy/pasting the same response to most of the other similar feedback comments. No dude, I don’t want to contact you so u can give me some lame ideas cause as to why whatever the fk u did in the latest update broke the app!!! Fix it by the end of the week and I’ll retract my one-star review. Yes, the ads are way too intrusive. If you were less concerned with $$$ and more concerned with the quality of your app, ppl might be happy to pay for it. Not me tho. I think I’ll just uninstall it and look for something else.

time frame with tone out and in scene times s. sometimes when the dispatcher tells the first responders a time of on scene or tone out its not even accurate there was a call out to a incident earlier and the tone out time was 5 minutes after the FD got toned out . like the timing of times is off and not accurate sometimes but other than that 4 out of 5 stars

Superbly done. Within Apple support forums, there are individuals claiming that audio mixing is not a feature available on IPhone. Yet, this app includes this option, so It is possible to listen to police scanner and also play online music radio station or your favorite music via music app, while scanner functions in the background. Thank you!

Ads!. This app was decent a couple years ago, but their ads have changed to these incredibly long and persistent ads that you cannot get out of. My main issue is that I tried to hear what emergency was happening in my neighborhood and couldn’t actually use the app because of the ads. Turn it on? You get a loooong ad. Change a scanner? Get a loooong ad. Try to listen when you need it most? You get a loooong ad. The app developer needs a different ad monetizing strategy bc I will no longer use this, and they're undercutting the point of the app. If their strategy is to make the free version unusable hoping people will pay? That doesn’t work for me.

Great app BUT. This is one of my favorite apps on my phone i use it often especially when i am in the car because its fun listening to it on the road but lately I've been having problems with it when i choose one of the channels to listen to it just wont play and then i go on my phone and it still wont play sometimes it works when i close and open the app again so i just wanted to let the developers know to see if there is a fix tho this problem and like i said its an amazing app but I've been having problems lately so it will stay 2 stars till its fixed thanks

Reup. This is in response to the dev response to my original comment (follow that?). I purchased this app Sept. of 2013. I know I did because I just moved into my apt. in Chatsworth and realized I was using your app almost everyday, and as I sit there, setting up my new apt., w/no tv and no internet, listening to the app as my only form of entertainment, I wanted to show my appreciation and give the developers some money. So don’t tell me you’ve never made a “pro” (paid version); just admit you’re wrong and move on. And by the way: no, I haven’t noticed any changes because I deleted the app. I don’t appreciate having ads, whether they are visual or vocal, they are not needed and annoying, ESPECIALLY when I already paid for the app!

Love the scanner app. I love the scanner app a lot. Lucky for me the community I live in is on here, whereas some other local police departments are not. I wish they were. But the free app has minimal ads and they’re only when one first turns it on. Also comes with a sleep timer, which is nice. If I leave it on while sleeping I have dreams that I am in the situation on the scanner, which is kind it fun in a way, but I wake up grinding my teeth. So I’d advise you use the sleep timer. Ad integration is unworkable bad. I understand and have no problem with the concept of an ad-driven revenue model. But advertising in this app is debilitatingly intrusive. The advertising periodically takes over the entire display, playing video with audio loudly and disruptively. Accidental stray touches on the screen trigger similar full-volume disruptively noisy ads. There are even deceptive touch targets that will trigger such ads playing. Really painful to deal with. I end up quitting the app frequently in an effort to interrupt these from playing. Ad-supported apps are fine, but this isn’t the right way to do it!

Love Love Love. The latest update. Not sure when you started the “View Sources Link” to the app but that is awesome that you added that feature. Usually when I hear something is going on I’ll try a google search to find out more information, such as if it’s in the news etc. We appreciate you all, and the great volunteers that go into adding a scanner for monitoring. Can’t forget to mention our amazing first responders.

No Longer Useful. The text tags(audio source) no longer works right with this app. Since that is one of the main things I like to look at while listening, it basically makes this app useless. I would have given it a 1 star but it’s still useful for broadcast alerts. But I will no longer use or support this app until they get text tags working properly.

Definitely One Of The Best Scanners‼️. The only problem is that voices keep cutting out. Too bad there isn’t better clarity. I know I’m hearing communication between police, fire, rescue, etc., but can’t understand them much of the time. So how in the world do they understand each other? Nevertheless, your doing the best you can! Any way you can enhance the clarity of communications? My guess not, given the problem with transmissions in the North Country.

Essential emergency tool. Last week, this app might have saved me and my family. My husband and I were driving home from the grocery store when a call came over the scanner about a group of about five males stopping cars to rob them. They were one street away from us. Thanks to this app, we were able to reroute around the street and get home safely. I now keep this app running whenever I go out, because it’s a great look out tool. Thank you for helping me keep my family safe!

Ad’s are sometimes impossible to get out of.. I understand the need for ads but most of the time the little X to get out of the ad does not work and you are stuck with the ad and cannot access the app so you have to close it out and open it again. Also when opening the app there is a quick link on the bottom to your most frequently visited channel but it never connects using that link.

Police Scanner App Awesome. This app is so cool as I hear everything going on in my community of Hilo Hawaii. It even allows me to be helpful or considerate of the areas where they may be having an incident by avoiding and driving around the area. But most of all it shows how unbelievable our police, fire, and medical first responders are including the dispatchers. It’s much better than paying $650-$750 for a scanner and accessories plus programming. Aloha, Paul the Plumber

Clear communication on our ridiculous communities. After listening to this station a few times when there have been issues in my own neighborhood, I realize how bad or at least I think the crime is bad in the Indianapolis area. Our law enforcement deals with violence constantly. They put themselves in the line of fire everyday. My man served our country for over 15 years but I’m grateful he didn’t go into law enforcement. Great Scanner. Likes: can set favorites and amount of listeners so will alert of people are listening. Would like to see: add medical emergency to the list of what’s happening now. I have relied on this app a lot to know what is going on in my apartment complex. It gets pretty active sometimes and nice to be able to hear what is going on and if is crime or medical. I walk dog at night sometimes so is handy to know. Also nice to know what kind of crime goes on.

Another good app gone bad. I liked this app for the last year or so. However recently the ads pop up and you can’t get of them and the hide the app interface making it unusable without deleting the app and reinstalling . It still works with whatever feed you selected but you change that feed once the ad pops up which is usually and add for a game on the App Store

Saved me hundreds $$$. I was gonna buy a scanner for home but this app made it stupid simple to get exactly what I was looking for. The app does have advertisements but it does not interfere very much. Offers just about every city in the USA. Can run seamlessly in the background at the same time as other apps. Ex.(watching live police pursuit from helicopter view, while this app is letting me get the ground units point of view at the same time.) I love it! Saved me hundreds $$$!

Thanks. App works perfectly. I just wish there was more police stations/departments who broadcast. If you were in fewer seem to be doing it. If the app developers can put on pressure there, would be great App works well. There are variations in the quality of the radios use at various police departments. Some departments come through crystal clear with no static or interference whatsoever. Others do have a little more interference and extra noise. But the app is faultless.

Franklin County Missouri. Love this app. They are so hard working. We truly appreciate having the opportunity to listen to dispatching. How they work so well as a team. How they help the stranded motorists when they have the time and if they don’t they call for services that will help them. I can’t say enough great things about the Sheriff, staff and officers. App not working. This as been my go to app for listening to what’s going on around my city. However the past few days it’s not working and always offline. I’ve deleted the app a few times and reinstalled the app only to still have the same problem. Update: I just gave this two stars because for the past few weeks the police scanner app has not been working properly, after five to ten minutes the scanner shuts off. Pretty sad because when I would like to buy the app something like this happens that I’ve always changed my mind. Update October 2nd 2020: Police scanner was working fine up till a few weeks ago when it completely stopped working then started working again. However this past week when I turn on the scanner it it keeps cutting off. This has been my favorite scanner app and would like for it to work without problems. I’ve deleted it then reinstalled and still the same problem.

Best App out here. I have been using this app for 5 years maybe longer and paid for the upgrade ( by the way the other apps are over priced and you don’t get many areas) You have so many places and areas, even small towns. I can hear the Fire Department in my area and my scanner will pick it up fast. You can mange how many listeners before you receive notifications. You get weather alerts. It really is the best Police Scanner App.

NEEDS ONE ADDITIONAL FEATURE. i love the app but i believe it’s missing one important feature. it should have a feature where the app uses your real time location to constantly scan where your at and automatically connect to the police scanners that are around you, that way when you’re driving it’s always automatically puttin you on the important near by police radio channel

Subscription required. Stripped away features I’ve had for years (I’ve had the old pro version since June 2016) and added forced advertisements unless you pay a subscription. What a complete and total scam. You used to be able to select themes and night mode for free lol now my app is permanently stuck on night mode with the orange theme and I can’t even change it without paying. Completely brain dead change. This is now a terrible and functionally useless app. One star until dev makes it usable again. It’s a real shame. I would recommend literally any other police scanner over this now hobbled app.

Best scanner app out there!!!. This is the BEST scanner app out there! I have only had ONE issue with the app since I purchased it well over a year ago. Up until then it has ALWAYS worked as advertised. The app was having issues last night and they fixed them as soon as they could. I did open a ticket with the app owner about the issue. They reached back out to me about the open ticket and explained they were having server issues.

Great service/bad ad delivery. Been using police scanner fo years. This app has good interface and nice technology that notifies you of large listener events, and there’s even a sleep timer. One downside is the ad server. After you’ve logged on and chosen your station there’s a long lag and finally a lengthy ad pops up. Many times the ad locks up or throws an error. Then you have to start the process over. Frustrating. Ad free price is too high IMO compared to annual cost of other apps.

Happy voiceover user!. So I was using a different app named after the police department in Hawaii. It recently got some ads that I couldn’t get past with voiceover for easily. Anyway this app rocks I like that I can get alerts of things that are going on so I know when to listen. To the developers hats off into the other app shame on you.(And all fairness to the other app I never did contact them about this. But sometimes you got to pick your battles and not waste your time.)

App goes from hero to zero. I started with this app original App Store years ago. The ads were tolerated but now they are impossible. You have no way to end the ad. You can’t cancel the ad you cant use the ap until the ad runs its course. 2 minutes 5 minutes some are 10 minutes in duration before you can gain control of the dashboard. To get rid of the ads they want 2.99 a month? Wow what a ripoff. Further for that price I should be able turn off the cops and only listen to fire. Greedy programers. There are other apps out there that wont take your money.

Grandma. I was so excited when I found out I had a police scanner on my phone because I find police work intriguing however it’s very hard to understand what you’re saying and it sounds like sometimes two or three radios are talking at the same time I heard the cuckoo club which I recognize in El Cajon but most of it I didn’t follow Along because it was really hard to understand what they were saying but I’m glad I have a police scanner that’s awesome

Spotty, at best. In my line of work, I need advanced warning of EMS calls. Sometimes, it’s works great, sometimes, it’s completely off line. Also, in my area, I get other radio traffic for agencies that are no where near my listening area or frequencies. It gets quite annoying, especially when the app states what areas I’m able to hear.

Listen to Weather. It might have its issues from time to time to some but I love this app.. when we start getting bad weather it’s the 1st thing I turn on cause we don’t ever get to actually watch weather channels much!! But this is definitely reliable for me and my 4 kids I no which way to go and when to get there !! I have it I tell my friends to get it and my kids have it !!! Thank you for having apps like this!!

Sad payed user. I’ve use the scanner Radio pro for years now about a week back ads started popping up and the remove ads button won’t let me restore used to be a 5 star app. I see that a lot of people had the same problem. You keep saying that you must of purchased from a different developer but this is the app the orange icon and mine used to say pro in the bottom right hand corner. Well last night I sent my 2.99 to Broadcastify pro because in not going to double pay for a app!

What happened?. I have used this app on a NIGHTLY basis for YEARS and love it! Though recently when my iPhone is on silent mode or when the screen goes to sleep my scanner app goes SILENT! I can’t leave my screen on and drain the battery! It’s never been like this before. Every night I turn my ringer off, set my alarm and fall asleep listening to your scanner app! Now it’s different and I can’t do that anymore, WHY? I’m hoping that it’s an easy fix or I will have to use another app that still runs when display is off 🤷🏼‍♀️

Love this App. Overall this app is the best one no doubt. I did however more recently noticed that some of the channels that I listened to have disappeared (Baltimore County Police, Baltimore City Police). Now I know that agencies make changes. I was curious if that’s what has happened. I mean if it did no biggie. Just really enjoyed listening to them since I was from there. But besides that, there’s not another scanner app that I would download.

Ads won’t stop when clicked off!. I’ve had this app for a while and it works OK. But lately when an ad pops up and fills the whole screen and there’s audio on the ad it talks over the dispatch that’s coming in! But if that’s not bad enough, once the ad is on my screen there is no way to click off of it! The little X in the corner does not work. So as a result there is no way to turn off the app unless I restart my phone.I am sure hoping that this latest update will fix that. Otherwise I’m deleting the app and getting a different one.

Ads interfere with use. This used to be a great app but they’ve added new video pop-up ads when you launch the app, the problem is if you’re trying to launch the app quickly to hear what’s going on near you the ads will block out the scanner signal for several seconds and then you miss what’s being said. If it’s a call were they only talk about it for a moment or two you can completely missed the call. I would rather more pop-ups or something later then having something completely blocked the app upon launch. It basically makes this useless. Switching to another app until this is resolved.

Greedy Platform. I have no problem with an ad based app, but when the only way to get rid of the ad is to click a link that takes you to the play store, that’s out of line. This all functions well, when it’s not busy redirecting you and covering up the scanner feed with crap. The stuff they advertise isn’t even relevant or worth considering…predatory casino app and bingo apps. So, due to their persistent, unethical and annoying advertising that takes you away from the platform, they get one star from me.

Works well for me !. I’ve been using the app a little over a week and I find it very useful, Very informative and easy to use. My advice is don’t do anything to break the law because anyone who’s listening will hear your personal information! My only complaint is that some of the police and emergency personnel sometimes talk very fast or you can’t understand what they are saying but there’s nothing you can do about that.

Simple scanner app with INVASIVE ads. This app works great as a scanner. The huge problem I have is the ads are incredibly invasive sometimes to the point where I feel like the app should be removed from the app store. A large majority of the time I click the 'x' on an ad to close it out, and it just opens up a random webpage and literally starts downloading an app to my iPhone that I have to cancel real quickly before it finishes. I was never asked to authorize the download, it was just forced. No clue if the app is malicious, etc. and it is incredibly ridiculous and frustrating. Beware before choosing this scanner.

Great Scanner -Ads Are MOST annoying. Ads I find are usually fine but this set up is very annoying lately and seems like intentionally set up so you have hard time stopping when time is up. Can’t ex out and last emergency call disappears randomly. There has got to be a way you have it so active calls are not interrupted. Since update its been EXTRA lousy. I use this because my nephews and brothers are emergency service professionals and I listen in on dangerous calls.
