Superior. As a TM practitioner I wasn't initially drawn to this app. However it was recommended repeatedly by health practitioners as I struggled to be consistent with my sitting practice. Finally I gave in and it's been a wonderful asset to my meditation practice. I use it as an anchor and I enjoy the presentations as well as the guided series and singles. The SOS and now the many other options are great. Being able to grab your phone and calm yourself in stressful times is amazing. Headspace has continued to improve adding more and more options and modules. You can stick with classic guided or semi guided meditation, or silence, add music or learn how to use mindfulness on a broad range of issues from speaking, sadness, grief ... you name it. I love the special section on sleep. The educational aspect is beyond compare and you can watch short videos. I still have a strong preference for Andy Puddicome’s voice and hope he never tires of doing this, but glad the options are there for others. This simply is the best app for meditation and for mindfulness. THE BEST. I highly recommend this to anyone--from those being introduced to meditation and/mindfulness to the experienced practitioner. You're in good hands here. Easy to use too. Very intuitive.

Helping me understand what meditation is.. I started a self study in Buddhist meditation using the books “LovingKindness” by Sharon Salzberg and “A Path with Heart” by Jack Kornfield because I had lost touch with my inner peace that I had just 5 years ago. I found I could no longer turn to the Christian theology from my childhood, and I yet I need a sense of spirituality in my daily life. The two books have been helpful, and very slow going. They are easy to read, but hard to do. In fact, I’m still really in the most basic part which is loving and caring for self. That’s where Headspace came in, I needed to find a guided meditation because the books are more self guided. Having the voice of Andy Puddicombe walk me through what it means to meditate in the most basic terms helped me understand that I’m on the right path. Also, it has allowed me to progress in the practice of meditation even though on a personal level, I keep falling back into using mantras of self appreciation and acceptance now for more than a month. I find Headspace, along with the two aforementioned books, to be transformative in my inner game. I plan to visit a local Buddhist Temple soon to meet others with more experiences in this meditative practice.

Grateful for headspace. I freaking love this app. My anxiety was starting to become bad again and I could feel myself falling into depression. I have some experience with meditation and mindfulness and it’s helped me in the past but I’ve never been able to stick with it for more than a couple of weeks at a time. Then one day while listening to Huberman’s podcast there was a month free trial and I decided to try it since I’ve always wanted to give this app a go anyway. WELL, let me tell you...this app is changing my life. I am proud to say I am on my 33rd day streak. I can feel myself overall being more present and aware throughout the day. Now, when I start to feel anxious I almost immediately catch myself and can begin using some of the tools and practice I’ve accumulated from headspace. I do want to add though, the key word is PRACTICE. Medication, like Andy says, is a skill and like any skill you must practice. By practicing enough, it does truly become second nature. I know it’s only been a month but I can already feel the difference and I am looking forward to the future. Thank you headspace team. P.S every little thing about this app is great. I especially love the different courses, the wake ups, the animation shorts, the sleepcasts, the focus music and yoga.

Tried several apps and this is the clear winner. I signed up for my free trial in fall 2019, at the recommendation of a family member. I thought it was great, but wanted to shop around and see what all of the individual meditation apps had to offer, but Headspace is the clear winner. I signed up for an annual subscription (and I hardly ever do that). The general organization of the interface is great in its simplicity, because you can easily toggle between the app’s different features with the navigation on the bottom, and there’s only five options so it’s aesthetically pleasing to me. Speaking of aesthetics, the graphics shown while meditating are very uplifting, simple, and non-intimidating. I think apps like Calm that have the ability to show/do nature sounds are cool, but that feels like too many decisions as to what graphic to choose. The soft Australian accent that Andy has is very calming but feels more non-judgmental, like an old friend who’s just being your guide through the meditation. The daily video content pieces are cool, too. So far I’ve learned about how music affects the brain and about snake plants. This app leaves me feeling inspired and refreshed. 10/10. Great job, devs!

An Absolute Life Changer. The best mindfulness app. User friendly, the mediation teachers come from all different walks of life & you can tell that they truly LOVE what they do, so passionate helping others and one person at a time are slowly changing the world for the better. They even have things for families & kids. I’ve grown into a better person in all aspects of my life and was able to accomplish things that the “old” me would’ve never imagined. I’ve learned so much over these 2 years about myself and the world around me. Andy and Eve were the first ones I started listening to & then they got Kessonga and Dora who I felt even closer to (through culture, headspace and their added vulnerability to speak about their lives on a level I could relate with). I truly believe in investing in my mental health & have tried other guided meditation apps, but never truly connected with them & it never impacted my life like Headspace. I decided to joined Headspace in 2020 & started with the monthly payments. March 2022 I upgraded to the yearly membership. 14,601 minutes later, I can honestly say it’s the BEST thing I’ve ever given myself. TLDR: If you’re thinking about trying headspace, give the 30 day free trial a run and with consistent practice, you‘ll want to invest your money in your mental healthy too! Podcast: Radio Headspace is also a part of my morning routine & I listen to it every morning on my commute.

A great app. Needs work. I give this app 5 stars because the build of this app, the contents of this app, the flow of this app is great. well done. Every app can be improved and this one needs work in some ways 1. the watch app: the only thing I every get on the watch app is a 1 minute "breath mini". the watch app is basically useless. Why can't I see my today screen on the watch and start my various mediations from the watch. the watch app gets 1 star. 2. Shortcuts: on the iphone I have setup a sleep schedule. On the "good night" screen I am given the option to run shortcuts. Headspace offers a few shortcuts that can be called from this screen. One is the nightly "sleepcast". the sleepcast is supposzed to be different every night. It is different on my today screen, but the shortcut always plays the "Rainyday Antiques". therefore the shortcut is useless. this part of the app gets 1 star. Lastly, the philosophy behind this app is mindlessness. It is taught as a universal fix for bringing the mind to a place of ease. As such it is a religious philosophy. I think they need to be more open about this and they need to state that the point of this is to alleviate suffering. This app looks like they did version 1 then stopped before finishing the details. Shortcuts must work for this app to be fully functional

It’s a drug in a way. It was easy to go through life unaware of the benefits of meditation, and aside from other people’s accounts of the practice, there wasn’t much to tempt me to try. But as soon as i tried it and put in considerable effort to be consistent*, i was hooked. I could feel the difference between a day i remembered to practice and when i forgot to. I loved it so much i started taking time throughout my day to practice, sometimes in my car/somewhere else by myself, or sometimes I’d take a minute to just focus on my breathing or the sounds around me or how my body felt. I was hooked. Then i went through a big life change occurred that i allowed to take me away from the practice for over a year and a half. Now I’m here to say that the me that was consistently practicing vs the me now are not even close. I’m struggling to get back in the swing of this because i desperately miss the emotional stability and overall sense of ease i had. I just need to take it one day at a time and remember that it’s a process, there’s no such thing as doing meditation perfectly. *tried setting a time to practice but couldn’t follow through so i resorted to just 5 minutes in the day, until i could consistently practice at a certain time in the morning, if that helps anyone w a similar struggle

Amazing app, but the Watch app is terrible. I’ve used Headspace for over 3 years now. I’ve tried several other meditation apps, and nothing compares to Headspace’s courses, variety, and overall production quality. However, there are two main flaws with this app. 1) The Apple Watch app is garbage and has been for years. That’s actually why I’m writing this review. I expected them to have fixed it by now. There are only a few meditations available and you don’t get to chose them or their timers. I really dislike that the first thing I touch in the morning and last thing I touch at night is my phone because of this, which is bad for your digital wellbeing, especially as someone who battles phone addiction. Also, you can only use the app with Bluetooth headphones, which is not always preferred. 2) The app has gotten very cluttered. As the app has progressed and they’ve added more courses, videos, tips, etc. the app has gotten EXTREMELY bloated. It takes me much longer than it used to to find a meditation that I want to listen to and I usually just default back to one I’ve already listened to.

Mediation is surprisingly awesome!. Headspace has provided me with a way to cope with some of the anxieties of work and school life. I really enjoy that sense of “me-time” just spent focusing on my thoughts a feelings and dealing with them in what I feel is a healthy way. I somehow feel different after every session, more relaxed, more “centered” if you would. I don’t really have trouble going to sleep but some days my mind travels a mile per minute with thoughts of things I have yet to do. I find the sleepcasts they offer to be helpful during these times. The soothing sounds help me focus on shutting my body off for the night. I would recommend just listening to the casts they have available for unsubscribed users and seeing how you feel. The only gripe I have with the meditations they offer is that all of them seem very similar. They have many different packs that are supposed to cater to a specific area but this is only an illusion of variety. All meditations offer the same sort of exercises like focused breathing and mindfulness. I just wish that there were more exercises to make use of. Otherwise, I just can’t justify purchasing a yearly subscription for this service.

The wonders of headspace. In my abnormal psychology class we learned anxiety is not just a fight or flight response but instead can be a future oriented response. Abnormal anxiety usually is characterized by presenting when there is no real danger. Therefore when I lay down in bed to sleep and I start getting an increase heart rate, feel extremely hot and sometimes nauseous at the idea of future situations and work that I have yet to do, it’s abnormal. Even if many people experience this is is abnormal because there is no real threat just my brain over thinking future situations. Therefore on my quest to look for ways to relax my mind before bed I downloaded headspace. I usually listen to a guided meditation before bed. Followed I will set one of their sleep music for 60 minutes and lay down. I now am normally asleep before the sleep music stops. Even though in my class we talked more about biological and psychological treatments, I felt as though there might be an easier way for me to deal with this anxiety. Headspace has created a way for me to clear my head before bed allowing for more and a greater quality of sleep. I would suggest this app to anyone, not even for just sleeping. But as a way it relax.

My kids and I LOVE headspace!!! <3. I’ve been wanting to meditate for a while, and I just didn’t know how to, I’ve tried yoga and a couple other things, but never really got the time to make it a habit. I found this app and decided to give it a go given the reviews. It didn’t let me down. I love all the packs for different situations in life and the fact that you can meditate 1 min or as long as you can, so no more “I don’t have time” After the trial i decided to use the premium version and it was then when I discovered the kids section (angels sing and sunshine thru clouds please) it’s never been so easy to put my kids to bed! My kids LOVE Andy and ask for him every single night, 90% of the time they are asleep by the time the sleep meditation is over (5-6 min). They have asked to start hearing Andy when they wake up, too. As for me, I had been struggling with insomnia for a while, and when I did sleep my mind would keep going on and on about everything I had to do the next day, so I’d wake up feeling restless. I’ve been using headspace at bedtime and I’m out in like 5 min. I sleep better, my mind sleeps too. I’ve been using it for a couple months and there’s still SO much to explore. I just love it :)

This app saves my life daily. Today is day 5 of the worst week of my life. It has humbled me immensely and brought me back to the most important things in my life. One of which is meditation. Today, The Wake Up was about setting realistic and healthy goals for yourself, burnout, and more. The most important thing that I heard, however, was that the speaker themselves have a disability that impacts their work and goal setting. It made me tear up to hear about Amanda Morris’ perspective on running yourself down trying to meet expectations and lofty goals. “This is someone I trust to talk about this,” I thought. Headspace not only champions helpful and relevant information, it seems to champion diversity in the way that really matters: who, with the most real experience with this problem, can be trusted to be the face of this process as users work through it? I see how you put users needs and concerns first. It’s wonderful. It is bare minimum - but it is wonderful and should be said. This is an incredible app with an incredible goal. The people who work for Headspace have my heart. I hope to see more from Amanda Morris soon!!!!

Thank You, But No Thank You. I would like to start by thanking the creators of this app. I am a student and testing is coming up soon. This app has helped me in not only calming down and focusing on that, but also on my family situation right now. I (try to) use this app daily and it sets my day on a good course. Thank you. However, I am not sure for how long I will be able to say that. Once my Basics 1 course expires, I will have to pay insane amounts of money to “subscribe” to Headspace just so I am able to take different meditating courses, such as Focus, Kindness, or Sleep. It costs $400 to meditate for a lifetime (unlimited)! That’s enough to feed a family for 2 months! It feels like a demo you would find on the phones they have it the Apple Store: incomplete. Overall, the experience is great and the meditating is useful, but I feel that meditating should be available to everyone, not just people willing to shell out $13 a month or $95 a year. I would not recommend this app to friends because I don’t think they want to experience this disappointment. I love your app, just not your cost!

Amazing stories - Needs more Darren.. Headspace is honestly one of the best "fall-asleep-quick" apps out there, and I'm personally convinced it's the best. It's amazing, lets you keep track of your goal(s), and you can choose what type of audio you'd like to listen to! However, as the title states, we need more audios read by Darren. I, personally, believe Darren is one of the best story-readers there are, and he honestly makes me feel genuinely happy amd loved. Now, I know Darren has a life, as everyone does, but I believe there needs to be more sleep audios read by Darren. Currently, there's only 5(Five) audios read by him, and as someone who has attatchment issues, I'd enjoy more audios read by him. If it's (at all) possible, you could maybe also have every story-teller have their own versions of each audio, Darren included, and the listener could choose who they want to listen to. You could also do this same thing with the variations of the audios, making it so that the listener can choose which variation of the story they want to listen to! Other than having more Darren in Headspace, I believe Headspace is an amazing, awesome, and fantastic "fall-asleep-quick" apps in the world.

New life. I started meditating in January 2021, I had never meditated a day in my life. I was suffering from a mind that would not stop, it was spinning out of control and sleep was non existent for me. My therapist suggested I try meditating to help still my mind and ground myself in reality. I did a quick google search and found this app. Fast forward a year + meditating 10-15 minutes every morning and I can honestly say my life is changed. Now I am connected with my mind and body in a way I never have been before. I have a greater understanding of my physical/emotional responses and am able to ground myself in reality and the present moment where as before this was one of my greatest struggles. For years I took 2 sleeping aids every night to try and help me sleep, I have completely stopped taking those and am getting better rest than I ever have in my life. This app has taught me how to still my mind and find a peace that I never knew existed in myself. Meditation has singly been the biggest transformational thing in my life. I am so grateful for Headspace and cannot recommend it enough!

Great resource!. This is really helpful! The only reason I didn’t give a higher rating is because there’s a strong overlying tone of a sales pitch there. Which is unfortunate, because I think people would be able to see the value easier if there wasn’t a push for money after every meditation and for many of the things on the app people would want to explore. Kind of stalls progress of the meditation itself when you’ve just worked so hard to pull yourself back, only to be instantly asked for money right after. From a company stand point I also think it would be more beneficial to work on building value and then freely offering the option to see what monthly costs are and also show a detailed description of what’s involved with a paid membership. I know this has worked well financially for other services and I’ve seen increases in sales by simply looking at things from the customers perspective. And I feel like the customers perspective is a miss here :( However quite and easy fix and overall this app is amazing! It not only teaches the basics of meditation, but teaches different techniques as well. This makes it good for beginners all the way to experts. I truly believe that the basis of this app is pure in intention and I can see what a help it is to many people who walk the path of life.

Sleepcasts!. I use this app exclusively for the sleepcasts, so that’s the only feature I can comment on. I love them, and they’re the only way I can fall asleep now. I wish they were a bit longer, but I understand it’d be hard to record a story that’s hours long. I have a couple suggestions: When a sleepcast ends, can it just skip to the next sleepcast (or at least have that be an option in settings?). Also, I can only fall asleep to male voices, so I’m very limited to a few sleepcasts.. it’d be great if all stories were recorded by both a male and a female and we could choose which we’d like to listen to. Lastly, I really would like a setting where we can skip the breathing wind-downs. If not, then at least have a trigger where when you’ve already done 1 wind-down, then the next sleepcast you listen to should automatically skip this part. It’s frustrating wanting to dive right into a new story and having to go through the same breathing session you just did. I really hope you hear my input and take it into consideration! If not, I’ll send them via email to developers. :)

Recovery - what a difference. I have struggled with addiction, relapsing many times, having found it so difficult to be at ease without my coping mechanism (alcohol). In the past, I’d attempted meditation on my own, and found myself practicing at most once a day, for maybe 5 minutes, before wanting to jump out of my skin and do something else. With Headspace, the techniques are explained clearly and consistently, without it feeling like I’m just playing the same recorded guide over and over. It feels like Andy is personally training me in a slightly new or different way each session. As a result, I not only practice daily, but 3-4 times per day for at least 10 minutes each session. And I even look forward to it! What a difference this has made in my mood, my clarity, and most of all, my need for old bad habits. There’s even a 30 day program on coping with cravings. If you struggle with sobriety, or bad habits of any kind, you may find incorporating the practices taught in this app deep into your daily life will make the journey to wellness so much lighter and easier than it has been.

not what it used to be. I used to have this app back in 2020 because I was having trouble sleeping and I was going through a lot of anxiety and other things at the time and this was a great app to use, it had great meditation sessions, it had great sounds to help me go to sleep and all that stuff but now that I’ve re-downloaded it it’s absolutely awful. You literally have to pay for EVERYTHING. Which I find ridiculously inconvenient because right now it’s 1:35 AM and I have to go to work later today and I cannot sleep at all, I’ve taken four melatonin gummy‘s, I’ve taken a bath and I’ve drink tea and none of that is working. so I was just thinking I wonder what could help me go to sleep and then I remembered this app and I re-downloaded it being super excited because I was like I remember how great of an app this was and I don’t remember why I ever deleted it in the first place and I’m just so excited because it’s going to help me with all the stress and anxiety I’ve been going through and it’s really going to help me go to sleep but now that I’ve downloaded it I haven’t even had it for five minutes and I’ve already deleted it because you have to pay for everything it’s ridiculous. I miss the way it used to be

Headspace is a excellent, but isn’t truly free. I heard about this app on tv and saw ads in The Today section of the App Store. I decided to give it a try and it really does help me out. I feel less stressed, calm, and feel ready for anything. It’s like a guide or tool which helps push you to be a better you. So then comes the question, is it worth it? I think so. For instance if you have ADHD or feel stressed most days (maybe because of work or school) use this. Everything is not sunshine and rainbows. For one, $13 to me feels somewhat pricey. Other meditation apps that I found are cheaper than what Headspace currently offers. Another thing is that it lacks free content. There’s only very little that Headspace offers and it’s not a lot. It’s almost as if your forced into paying for a subscription in order to use it. I really didn’t want to do that and I have now canceled it since I felt that it was overly priced. Headspace is great and I may say that’s is better than most apps I’ve used. But I don’t like the fact that after going through the tutorial it locks most of the content Headspace offers you and forces you into a subscription that feels overly priced. Yeah, they give you a free trial but after that your pretty much forced. Offer more videos that are free and let people decide for themselves. If you do those things I may bump my stars to 5.

Love this app!!. So I started using this app because my boyfriend said that I needed to start meditating due to my high levels of stress (and how easily I get stressed and I have poor stress management) and my because I am very easily angered and to him I just overall seem unhappy with life. I am only 24 so my stress shouldn’t be what it is in my opinion. So I took his advice on meditation and did some research and found this app. I’m still in the free trial stages of it but I will most definitely buy is once it ends. The reason I give 4 start is because I wish there were more mindful activities because of my job. I wake up at 6 am and come home from anywhere between 5pm - 11pm depending on the day I have. So it would be nice to have more mindful activities where I can use the app an work or do things at home with out it being the same thing. Or more on commuting. I’m driving all day long so to have something I can listen to while driving that isn’t music or just for a commute home would be nice. But other than that I have no complaints! I love it and I hope it gets me where I would like to be. And that is to be happy and content with my life as it is now. And not get so angry with things. I am really excited to keep using this app!

An amazing tool to have on the go wherever you are!!. This app has been somewhat of a life saver for me. I’ve experienced a lot of trauma during my life, and a few years ago I came across this app or it came across to me via Instagram. I travel quite a bit and I love that I’m able to pick my environment of choice to meditate. I always thought meditation meant quieting your thoughts etc... but when I learned that it was part of being mindfulness and being present in the now it helped immensely in my day to day well being. When I did the anxiety course that really helped in so many ways because I thought you could get rid of it. But learning to become aware of it and being present with it, I felt it wasn’t so much of a burden. I’ve had trouble on and off sticking to it consistently but I’m trying it again. It’s nice to be able to have it there especially when I know how much of a positive impact it has had on my life. I am a parent and it’s something I want my child to learn and partake in so she has the necessary tools through out her early years to when she is grown up. This is worth every penny to maintain a healthy mindset and wellbeing. You’ll view the world and stress differently than you did before.

The most useful thing I’ve done in 2020. This app has given me tools to deal with constant change. This past year, I’ve needed to pivot every day to face some new challenge outside as an essential worker, and at home in isolation with my partner. The tools I Iearned to use to be present in the moment and to accept change has benefited my partner and colleagues at work as much as my own peace of mind. I have very little control over my environment, but I can see my reaction, accept the emotions that rise up, and move on instead of getting lost or bound by them. This app has also benefited me by helping me get through insomnia. Sometimes it helps me get to sleep in the first place. Mostly it gives me tools to use to calm my mind and body when I wake up in the night buffeted by anxiety or lingering frustration from the day. Lastly, this app has given me a language to express the emotional upheaval and troubling questions that I used to just call anxiety. Naming what makes me feel upset has brought clarity to what can feel like a tempest at the time and allow me to look at my thoughts or, rather, face them. After acknowledging them, I can let them go. Sometimes I’m better at that than at other times. Regular exercise strengthens my focus, my ability to pivot and refocus, and builds roads of calm and quiet that the brain finds easier to fall into and travel due to constant use.

A perfect start on your healing journey. I truly enjoy using the headspace app, and after my free trial it was no question for me to buy the subscription. Others may say it is a little pricey, but the amount of features and genuine support included in this app is incredible. As someone who had to stop going to therapy appointments because of the cost, meditation has been a grounding practice for me, and this app really has a meditation for every scenario. I especially like the SOS section, where you can find small meditations for when you’re feeling burnt out or anxious. Another great feature is the sleep section, especially sleep casts. The calming stories really help me unwind, and there are new ones coming out all the time. The app interface itself is also very well designed, calming and minimal. I enjoy how you cannot browse the app while listening to a meditation or sleep cast as well — a subtle touch that reminds me to stay present! I would definitely recommend this app (and also all the headspace podcasts) to someone who would like to let go of unwanted habits and build self kindness. If you are going to invest your money into anything self help related, a headspace subscription is definitely worth every penny. Thank you headspace team!

If you’re reading this - it’s a sign, just get it!. For anyone with the slightest doubt about whether or not they should begin (or continue) their meditation practice with Headspace, do yourself the greatest favor of your life and do it - surrender to whatever is holding you back and I PROMISE you will blow your own mind with everything you will gain from it. Just trust, put in the time (even 5 minutes a day) and the rewards you will reap from it will speak for themselves. As someone who was a vicious doubter, non-believer, and did not think it was humanly possible to get me to sit still for even 1 minute - I didn’t realize that the thing that I was most resistant to, was actually the thing that I needed the most. I am now going on 3 years with headspace happier, healthier (used to suffer from terrible GERD), more compassionate, resilient, focused, and more. It brought attention to my mindless eating habits and even helped me lose weight (and keep it off). I didn’t realize that I was living in a ‘cloud’, on auto-pilot until headspace helped bring me back to myself. Today, my cure for EVERYTHING (bad day, good day, breakup, can’t focus, bad mood, feeling anxious, grumpy, lethargic, etc.) is to sit down and do a 10 minute meditation. It truly has been life-changing and I am forever, eternally grateful for Headspace.

Please simplify the app to how it used to be. I’m a long time paid subscriber and don’t plan on going anywhere else. However, at some point over the last year or so, this app has become absurdly difficult to navigate and find what I want. What used to be a simple and elegant interface and experience is no longer so. I don’t know if this is an attempt to encourage users to see more of what the app offers or what, but the result for me, a long time user (and not some technophobic grandfather) is frustration and wasted time. I still use the app daily, but please, consider simplifying it back to more the way it used to be, when there were more clearly organised sections for finding the meditation I want. You have some kind of impossible to meld with structure now. It’s terribly laid out with all kinds of weird and distracting subcategories and stuff I don’t care about. I just want to find various packs of guided meditations as I go from one to the next. The newer extras are nice and some great ideas, but the clutter is not. Thanks. 25 April 22 update The app has been changed again and now I don’t see the option of continuing the series I’ve been doing in the opening page and have to click through to find it. There may be some improvements to what I was unhappy with before, but this new hindrance sort of canceled that for me.

Disappointing. As someone just getting started with meditating, I began with “Basics” and appreciated the functionality of selecting how much time I can choose on a meditation session. After completing Basics, I didn’t see any direction on where to proceed next. There were a lot of courses that didn’t seem to apply to where I wanted to grow. After trying some courses here and there, I saw in the “Today” tab a video acknowledging they received feedback regarding how to navigate to the next group of sessions after Basics. I started “Headspace 365” and the functionality of selecting the amount of time I had to meditate disappeared from the settings within each course. Sessions are stuck at a little over 21 minutes for the remainder of the 10 months I’ve been using this app. For several weeks the sessions started out with the presenters voice sounding like digital noise. Instead of sessions being “guided” throughout, the sessions include long periods of silence that make me wonder if either I or the presenter fell asleep. It seems like the same things are said over and over with little new information or areas to improve mindfulness. This app is good, it just needs some work.

Life changing. This app and Andy’s gentle and soothing guidance in it have absolutely changed my life for the better and in a big way. I’ve been meditating using the Headspace app as regularly as I can with a run streak of 180 days once. The streaks do not really matter, but staying consistent does. I consider the guidance and wisdom that Andy imparts in the app therapeutic. Friends, family and colleagues regularly tell me how much more serene, kind and patient I have become even in very tough situations. Those attributes would have never been applied to me had it not been for this app. The packages are godsend, like on patience, kindness, generosity...etc. Each package has ten guided sessions. Once I’m done with one package I either start again (some I’ve done more than 20 times) or start another one of my favorite packages. No, I’m not paid to sponsor these guys. I have not only gotten it (I.e. paid) for myself, but for my wife too. I’ve also offered to pay for friends’ or relatives’ apps too. Don’t think twice about it. Read up on the amazing benefits of meditation (physical, emotional, even spiritual) and then just cough up whatever Headspace charges. It had been the best investment of money and time I have made in my life. No exaggeration.

Rapidly Fell In Love, It’s For Everybody. THIS APP IS FOR THE STREETS! I have been through quite a bit of trials and tribulations lately. It has surely been a time where I knew it was necessary for my young son and myself to focus on spiritual and mental health and growth. I’ve only used this app for one day and have already been quite impressed with the ease of use and the instant peacefulness it allows to flow through me and my child. I have tried many mindful apps, this by far is the best, the most diverse, and absolutely worth upgrading and keeping beyond the free trial period. It is not only a way to invest in your relationship with yourself but also a way to invest in your relationship with your loved ones, your colleagues, and the outside world. I believe it aides to increase awareness of yourself and your reactions. The sessions are organized exquisitely, which allows you to find a fitting activity for the ambiance you wish to establish. It is tailored to fit all demographics, for children, for parents, for couples, for singles, nurses, sales execs, beauty bloggers, celebs, or snake wranglers. It’s an app that works your mind and body. The yoga flows were a bonus I was not expecting. Overall 10/10, I simply love it!

Head Space, The Final Frontier. I began using this application a few years back, in the middle of my college career. I was so stressed out at that time that I could hardly perform day-to-day tasks and I was so broke that I certainly couldn't afford help from a specialist. Enter HeadSpace. I found the app through an online search and began a free trial to try to calm my tumultuous inner consciousness. Though I cannot say that the improvements in my thoughts and behavior were immediate, the guidance of Andy's voice (the only option at that time and still my personal favorite) did help to calm me in times of immediate need. If nothing else, this app taught me to breath. My father was so impressed by my lack of mouth-breathing that he took up the monthly fee once it began and I have used Head Space (now on my own dime, thank you) ever since. Anyway, whether you are looking for help breathing, getting into shape, falling to sleep, or in quieting those misguided negative inner-voices that come to plague the chronically unhappy, HeadSpace has something for you (often more than one thing, in fact). If you're reading this and thinking about a trial or a membership, give it a shot. It's a judgment-free, stress-free, and until your trial runs out, a free-free way of beginning the mission to exploring and conquering anxiety and exestential dread. Consider it one small step for you, and one giant leap (in the right direction) for your mind.

Life changing. Truly I rarely subscribe to apps or trust their proclaimed effectiveness. But headspace has been shockingly life changing. My partner does the meditations and really loves them. He’s started meditating at least once a day and I think it’s improved both of our lives. He’s just been much more thoughtful and calm. I’ve been trying To incorporate them more into my life and they are lovely. I love all the specific programs. However my biggest take away from this app are their sleepcasts and wind down meditations for sleep. I have struggled with insomnia and falling asleep my entire life. I lay in bed for hours trying to fall asleep but cant stop my mind racing. Now with headspace I am out in 10 minutes or less. No joke. I’ve been using it every night for a month now and I’m just so astonished. My one gripe with the app is it’s limited free content. The paid content is 100% worth it but I wasn’t convinced until my partner purchased it and I could explore what I was missing out on. But The free sleep cast that is offered(rain day antiques) is still one of my favorites.

Such a cool app. It’s not that I was skeptical when it came to meditation, I just was unsure of what it was exactly, or what the goal should be. This app does an AMAZING job of explaining and easing you into meditation. It’s something you have to practice and implement into your routine. I haven’t had it for long, and I have only been doing the free “Basics” sessions, but wow I am so so impressed with the results. I don’t like to think I am a person who is just stressing herself all the time, but lately with a lot of life changes my body has been feeling a lot of tension and it has caused me horrible headaches. Whenever I meditate it relaxes me and relieves me of some of the pain. It also just gets me pumped for the day. Your emotional/mental health is so important!! Busy-ness kills, and meditating can help you take better care of yourself. This app is so well constructed. I normally don’t do subscriptions, but I’m gonna have to pay because it’s so worth it. The fact that you can choose if you wanna meditate for 3, 5, or 10 minutes? That’s awesome! So much detail. Also I personally like it way better than Calm, which is rated higher, not to mention the aesthetics are way more satisfying.

Support for seasoned meditators. I was introduced to meditation more than 25 years ago and have had a relatively steady practice. So why do I use Headspace? Like any practice it is tempting to slack off or feel like you “got” all the benefits and do not need to do it anymore. Other times it can feel like one is alone in the practice and it becomes hard to motivate oneself. Headspace helps me stay motivated and consistent. And no matter how long one has practiced, having a community of meditators is very helpful to continue practicing. I also have a tendency to get bored with things including meditation, so the variety of approaches, techniques, and goals provided keep it fresh. During 2020 I really appreciated the improvements made by Headspace especially the daily conversations by other meditators, the addition of the Move feature, and the Sleep tools. These were very helpful to keep my spirits up, my body moving, and my meditation practice on track. I also discovered the Pro series for advanced meditators. I am listening to it for a second time because as I have learned in my practice, you are never “done” learning and growing as a meditator. The same session at a different time gives you different insights. I am grateful to the Headspace team for creating and continually evolving the app to meet the challenges of today. And for helping a seasoned “pro” stay fresh and present. Thank you Headspace!

Have decreased their free library more and more.. I’ve used this app off and on for years, coming back to it when I needed guided meditation more. I have been extremely disappointed to see that as time has went on they have made their free selection thinner and thinner. It’s really sad to see an app that’s supposed to be for mental health, just trying to get more and more money out of its users. I used too love this app and used it very frequently at one time. Now I cannot even have a quick sleep guided breathing exercise or even the basic starter classes. I have commented on this before and it was deleted. Every comment where they do reply to this issue, they are just promoting their social media or trying to get people to participate in their free trial. Not yet have a seen them address why they have eliminated all free and accessible options on their app whatsoever. Many people who came to this app cannot afford a subscription like this just for guided audios. Me and many more, came to this app because we wanted free, quick, and stress-free mental relief. And do not have the time or money to pay for a class or anything along those lines. I am sure I am one of many who will now be forced to completely stop supporting this company because not only can I not afford $12 a month for some recordings, but I do not want to support someone who once cared about helping people with stress, on a budget, and now using the tool as a money rag.

Very good but expensive. So I’ve been using headspace for quite awhile now and personally I think it’s great! But the thing is since I don’t have premium, I have to keep on repeating the same old things like the rain day antiques sleepcast I’ve heard that sleep cast so many times and now I keep getting annoyed with it. That goes the same with the other sleep stuff too like the sleep music I’ve heard “doze” so many times I wake up like every 30 minutes or so. Also goes the same with the two free wind downs. The first time I used the free wind downs I fell asleep instantly the second time after that I couldn’t sleep for ten minutes. So after that, I wanted to do a free trial for the premium but I didn’t realize I was short on money. Since most people do a free trial for like a week or so they cancel there payment the day before the payment is due. So I tried doing that but it asked for but then I realized they need to know my payment information before doing my free trial. I think it was because they don’t know if I’m gonna cancel my payment or actually do the payment. So yeah, I think this app is amazing it just needs to either lower down the price by like 3-4$ or maybe add one or two me free sleepcasts and same goes to the wind downs, and music. Thank You.

Now a Rewarding and Essential part of my Routine.. I’ve been using the app religiously for about two weeks. After a recent ADD diagnosis, I thought it would be a good idea to start working meditation into my routine, and was willing to invest some resources into the guided regiment on Headspace. The problem had been nearly consuming my life and I was pretty frustrated. I was skeptical of “guided meditation” in particular, because I thought that someone talking you through the meditations through your headphones might defeat the purpose. I also have trouble sitting still in particular. I have not been disappointed. The app explicitly states that it is not intended to treat or cure attention deficit disorders, and I did not expect it to, but it significantly reduced the the severity of the problem almost overnight. I am also a collegiate music student, and I saw a tremendous difference in my practice routine and quality of playing as well. The content is very well organized and the methodology/philosophy is explained very thoroughly in fun-to-watch animations. I feel the difference at work and among friends. I just now put the app on the main dock in my phone, right beside the phone, messaging, and music apps. It is now a rewarding and essential part of my routine.

My head is still on my shoulders.... I always stressed myself out easily and then COVID came along... I had just gotten divorced, was a single mom of 3, schools had closed and the remote learning started, eventually I was furloughed from my job. I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself. I was trying my best to help my kids with school but I was having such a hard time getting out of bed because I was feeling so down. I couldn’t sleep, my mind was constantly racing, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I kept seeing the ads for headspace (free for the unemployed) and one day I decided to download the app. I am so glad I did. Ever since I started I’ve been able to slow my thoughts down. I don’t get so upset/angry as quickly as I used to and I’ve finally been able to sleep at night. My kids also enjoy meditating with me in the evening and now they ask me every night to listen to headspace when it’s time for bed. Thank you Headspace for helping me keep my sanity and allowing me to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Headspace has helped me to establish a daily meditation practice. I absolutely love Headspace 💆🏽‍♀️. I bought anannual membership on Groupon last year and gladly renewed when that had expired. It has helped me to establish a daily meditation practice. Meditation is something I’ve wanted to do but I didn’t know whom or what to listen to, or didn’t have a consistent discipline a routine around it. I love that Headspace has multiple meditations you can choose from, and you control how long the meditation is from 1 minute up to 30 minutes if you want ! There are even meditation courses about focus, stress, productivity - all the reasons we should even be meditating in the first place! I love the daily tracker that shows how many days in a row you’ve meditated and the total amount of minutes that I’ve meditated- it definitely keeps me motivated to want to continue to do it. I’ve definitely noticed a shift in my behavior over the past year and in my mindset since I have been meditating. I am more calm and less irritable and things don’t bother me as much.I highly recommend this app!

Compared to what I have learned in my PSY classes. I have use this app for several days I have taken notes throughout just to see how I feel about this app and how it works. And what are the first sessions, I decided to do a breathing exercise which I realize the instructor was having us focus on breathing from our chest. I’ve done almost the exact same breathing exercise in my abnormal psychology class but then main difference was headspace how do you focus on your chest and breathing through there instead of what we did in my abnormal psychology class which was breathing through your stomach and focusing on there.I have learned through my psychology class that breathing exercises can help people with anxiety by increasing the oxygen exchange which is known to reduce your blood pressure and slow your heart rate these two factors combined have been shown to also release tension that has been held in your abdomen. for example when you were panicking your abdomen tightens and constricts your ability to breathe which often times makes you panic more. Breathing exercises also work because the increase supply of oxygen to your brain stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system which helps promote a sense of calmness throughout you and you begin to calm down. Although some of their breathing techniques are different from what I have learned in my psychology classes this is still an app that is known for meditation and breathing exercises that can really help.

Recently disappointed.. Been using the app for over 4 years and recently they’ve made changes that made me want to review the app. They’ve taken features away that they use to have. For example, they’ve taken away the history I used to track my mediations and replaced it with a stupid message “Remember your run streak doesn’t reflect your growth” horrible.🙄 They taken away the little icon that lets you know if you’ve taken a course or class. So now you have to click into the course to see which ones you’ve taken. Primarily I think they’ve focus on content ( which it has been great, but recently it’s like they’re trying to hard.) I think they need to spend more time on app engineering. I’ve reached out expressing why you keep taking functionality away. I got a message that’s basically says here how you can delete the app and cancel your subscription. (Paraphrases) I’ve used the app so long because I do like Andy’s mediations and has really helped me growth my mind and body. I just feel recent changes have made the app less enjoyably and like they’re trying to hard or something. I hope it improves but pretty disappointed in the direction the app is going.

A Bright Spot in a Dark World. You won’t regret buying a Headspace subscription. I often joke with people that Headspace is the one thing I would want to take with me to a desert island. If I were to cancel all of my subscriptions today, Headspace is the one exception I would make. I’m a high school English teacher, and our administration put together a month-long mindfulness education program for our students shortly after I subscribed. I had already raved to many of them about the app and the benefits of taking a couple of minutes out of their day to sit and be present. Lo and behold, Andy pops up on the next slide as our Ted Talk speaker of the day! On a more serious note, I suffer from debilitating chronic pain. I’m currently on long-term disability and a leave of absence from the classroom. Mindfulness, and the courses on managing pain, have been a tremendous help in my journey. Not only that, but I struggle with insomnia. My favorite part of Headspace, because of my (admittedly) vivid imagination, are the sleepcasts. I love falling asleep to Rainday Antiques. I can’t imagine doing anything but that ever again. I have learned to manage stress and anxiety in a way that I had never thought was possible. I have meditated in the waiting room of The Cleveland Clinic before my appointments. I once laughed at the idea of mindfulness and meditation. Now it’s an integral part of my life. It’s part of my journey, and I think everyone could benefit from it.

If only.... At first I really loved this app and I didn't miss that some of the sessions we're locked and only for people who are subscribed but then I couldnt do the daily meditation feature because it started to lock all of them... I liked that with some packs you could do the first session to get a feel of what it it was about but then you would have to pay to get the rest of it. Because of this, for about six months, I was doing the basics pack (which is the only pack you get without paying) and so I didn't feel like meditating. I was losing all hope in this app until sleep by headspace came out. I have a lot of trouble sleeping and so this feature really helped me and I thought I could do as many sleepcasts i want but then..... As you could guess... It locked ALL OF THEM....now I can't meditate or sleep😔 if you have enough money to subscribe to this app, good for you because it's very nice and will help you a lot but if you can't subscribe, don't get your hopes up with this app. I just really wish it had more features for people who can't subscribe because in the end it leaves no options if you can't. If it had more options, I would be giving them at most four stars but because the don't, they're left with one. I really do wish I could keep this app but right now it's just taking up space😖

Mindless space. I’ll be the first to say that I’m a big supporter of the original intent of headspace and it’s creator (not sure their name but the Australian person who was the voice on the original version of the app). I used the app a lot in 2018 then took my meditation practice further and no longer used the app. In 2021 I saw a subscription deal and recommended headspace to lots of friends and I also rejoined. The new app is just a confusing and an overwhelming mess of information and cross-branding. I opened it up today and see an advertisement for Arcade Fire’s playlist and dances moves form Lincoln Center? Sure that’s interesting but I don’t think it’s necessary for this app and this whole project to have such interference of information when actually trying to calm the mind. I’m sorry to say but the expansionist vision of headspace studios has lost the core of whatever is supposed to be happening here. There are tons of nuggets of goodness in here but you gotta dig and by that time you find what is useful, it’s just annoying and you’ve wasted time in your screen instead of meditating. Take yourself offline and away from your phone and find/create your own stillness. That doesn’t cost a monthly fee. I hope Headpace reads this - please tell your investors that the integrity of your project is at stake. Now it’s just another business in the wheels of the market.

Too pricey for a college kid!. I love this app. I tried the free trial and loved it. The guided meditations really make the work easy and I found myself in a inducing a meditative state without lots of effort. They literally have a guided meditation for any situation or mood so it feels like their library is limitless. Unfortunately my free trial ran out and I bought a few months of headspace. In a way buying the app encouraged me to use it because I was spending my own money so that was good. However, when I moved into my first apartment I didn’t have enough money to keep my subscription going. I would love to buy headspace for life but I just don’t have $300 extra dollars sitting around to spend. I also feel that the subscription is pricey for something i don’t always want to use everyday. On days where I wanted to take a break from using my phone I lost my meditation streak which was disappointing. Sometimes I have a great day and don’t feel the need for headspace, but the subscription still takes the money from my pocket. On days when I really have a particular funky mood headspace is great because I feel like it can guide me through any kind of funk. I just wish it wasn’t so pricey. Buy this app if you like the meditations and have the money, but if you don’t have the dough, free meditation may be the way to go.

Essential. There are many tools available to help anyone who puts their mind to easing and alleviating their mind of a bunch of “small stuff”. Headspace is one of those tools. Andy, or any of the two female instructors, do an awesome job in guiding you through the meditation process. There are a variety of topics: Happiness, Anxiety Management, Anger Management, and so on, which are featured as courses, ranging from 10-30 sessions, each one being as short as 10 minutes or up to 20. The teachers start each session talking about a certain aspect, a thinking pattern, that applies to the topic in question, which lasts about one to two minutes, as a means of providing a tangible mental visualization to accompany you in the session as it begins. Aside from these courses, the app features exploring meditation fundamentals such as breathing, visualization, and so on. Q and A sessions, “Start the day” routines, this app is really, really good. If you want to experience a more guided meditation as opposed to only music accompaniment as featured in “Calm”, give “Headspace” a try. You will not be disappointed!

Simply Excellent ! :-). I knew nothing about meditation when I started my journey about three years ago. I read Andy's book and I saw the potential to bring more calm and stability to my life. So I started using the app. I had a slow start. I tried it for several days and then dropped it for a while etc. Finally I gave meditation the priority it deserves and here I am… I just passed 600 days of meditation in a row without missing a day. I'm proud of that, but I still feel like a beginner. As Andy teaches, meditation can be a lifelong journey. I simply can't say enough positive about Headspace. I love it and I encourage you to try it! I have a couple of friends who use other "flavors" of meditation and I see no conflict between what my friends are learning and what I am learning. That gives me confidence that the lessons that Andy teaches are sound. Honestly my only concern is that Headspace will grow too large as a company and that Andy may not have time to be so actively involved in creating the content of the app. Or perhaps Andy might feel like he has completed his work with Headspace and moves on to new projects. I dearly hope that never happens. Bottom line: Very highly recommended. Enjoy! Paul in Vermont, USA

New to Headspace Old to meditation. I started meditating in high school during my senior year when I did a solo project on the Dalai Lama and Thich Naht Hanh. Meditation was rejuvenating and grounding. Fast forward the next 15 years and meditation was lost to the hustle and bustle of life. My work recently offered a trial of Headapace to a select few prior to launching for the entire team. I immediately signed up knowing although my current mind stated, “you don’t have time for that” but my deep mind stated “you need this!” And here I am remembering again the importance of living in the moment, taking in and appreciating the sounds, smells and feel of the world around me. Meditation got me through some very tough times as a teenager when I nearly lost my mother to a brain tumor and my father to mental illness. Now with the coronavirus pandemic, job insecurity and political unrest I again need to ground myself. Headspace allowed me to treasure again the here and now, to not only calm my flighty mind but feel my body the aches and tension releasing it. Just like physical health you must make the time to nourish your brain. 10 minutes a day is reasonable and will make a world of difference! Thank you Headapace for reminding me again to live in the moment and treasure the beauty of every day.

Everything I didn’t know I needed.. There’s so much to be said about how specific yet simple Headspace’s premise is. For the record, I meditate twice a day: right before I go to work, and the right after I come back home. I have been using the app for close to a month now, and I can already notice a lot of behavioral changes in myself. I respond better to situations that used to frustrate and/or upset me, and I feel much better equipped to deal with the various emotional ups and downs of daily life. To clarify something, this app is a tool for anyone to use. I used to be one of those people who thought meditation is pointless, that I wouldn’t be able to “shut down” my brain and prevent it from drifting off during a meditation session. None of that matters with Headspace. As long as you develop a habit of using the app, you will be better prepared and confident when dealing with the aforementioned feelings. Headspace has truly been a revolutionary discovery for me. As someone who has tried similar apps in the past, I can confidently say that no other app can match the sophisticated design, ease of use, and mindfulness that’s encapsulated by Headspace.

I can’t recommend this enough. I downloaded Headspace when it was free for health care workers in 2020. I was pregnant at the time and was under a lot of stress at my job. I started with the pregnancy course on the app. This was so amazing. First of all, Andy’s voice is incredibly calming. Then the pregnancy meditation helped me feel closer to baby. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and when I was less stressed, my glucose was lower. This app helped me a ton with that. Then, when I went to my 29 week check up, I had just read a work email I was very upset about. The nurse took my blood pressure and it was high. They sent me to the hospital for monitoring. While I was there I practiced the meditation I had learned and was able to get my blood pressure down so I could go home! The meditations also helped me get through labor! Now that I had my baby, I’m still using this app because it just helps me find calm in my crazy world of being and full time working mom during a pandemic. If you are at all interested in meditation, you need this app. I promise it’s worth the money. When my free subscription is over, I’m paying for it! I never write app reviews, but I just want everyone to know how great Headspace truly is.

Honestly life changing.... As a student, husband, employee, supervisor, manager, etc. life can get ahead of me every single day and honestly will overwhelm me. I have been in a long battle with moderate/severe depression and anxiety disorder, and after medications were only numbing symptoms I thought I was a hopeless case. Something changed and I decided that I wanted to start really doing things in life. I’ve had this app for a while but I finally decided to try to use it more. I started for just sleep, but just sleep turned into using it to wake up, and when I feel stressed about work or when I’m studying, I just take a quick break. It’s honestly surreal how fast 10-20 minutes goes by when going through the guided meditation in the morning. All that said, this app is amazing, and I really recommend it to anyone dealing with any problems in their life, whether permanent or temporary. Let this help you, and go tackle your problems. Also, for my fellow students, you can go to their website and verify your student status and get the full access to the meditations for $10 a year, to make this app and company even more amazing. Keep up the awesome content Headspace! And thank you for helping me on my journey

Tricky Times and a lifeline. Last year I went through possibly my first ever experience of anxiety and a total loss of confidence. Headspace put things in perspective, brought me back to the here and now, and made me realise that the thoughts and feelings which were negatively affecting me were just passing traffic which I didn’t need to try to chase. In the end I got through the tricky times, with support from my nearest and dearest and headspace. I’ve seen the benefits for myself and have sat with my kids and Andy to get everyone in the right mindset for the day ahead. If I’m honest I’m out the other side now and back to the old me, of course if anything like this every happens again I’ll be straight back to headspace as I know IT WORKS.

A more even life. I have always been a person on the move - changing houses, countries and even my marriages. It has been a restlessness that has been with me all my life. I never stopped to examine and even when I did I gave up pretty quickly. I am now in my seventies and having to rethink my life; this is when Headspace stepped in and helped me to sit with the difficulties I faced of getting older and being on my own. I have learned that everything passes, that everything you thought was important no longer really matters. Life and nature are the most precious things to me now; being able to get up and go walking in the countryside where I now live is joyous, being present in each thing that I do means a more contented outlook. It’s a work in progress! Thank you Andy & all at Headspace. Wendy Gordon

A bit overrated. And zero free content. I use to be a huge fan of this app and only listened to the Basics Beginner course as it was all that I really needed plus I didn’t have a full subscription. However once I decided to subscribe and deep dived into all the different mediation ‘situations’ available, I quickly realised that the content is all very repetitive and there wasn’t much of a difference from the free Basics Beginner course. Now you can’t access any free content at all without having to opt in to a free 7 day trail. So regrettably in my opinion the app has turned into just a money making opportunity for the developers and there’s less focus on providing diverse, unique content. Ive also Calm which does still have some free content available without a trial, and the meditations are more bespoke tailored to the ‘situation’ that you’re trying to work through. Would recommend Calm over Headspace. Sorry.

My Favourite App. This app has become an important part of my life! Not only has it introduced me to a regular meditation practice but it also curates a brief daily program which encourages mindfulness and healthy habits. I also use it to play relaxing music while I’m in the bath and I LOVE the Sleepcasts (though I’ve yet to hear one through to the end because I drift off so easily listening to them). You can just do a quick guided meditation or you can delve much more deeply in - it really depends on your needs at the time. The app is flexible, comprehensive, simple and effective. Not to mention nice to look at and entertaining! There’s so much on offer here but it’s well laid out and so accessible that it’s really easy to navigate. Although I originally downloaded this app to help me through a crisis I will be using it well beyond this difficult time. It’s actually enriched my life and I don’t know of too many apps that you can say that about. A great product which I can’t recommend highly enough.

Great meditations but listening offline is buggy!. I love the meditations on Headspace and the level of detail of the animations and the interface! However listening offline is really buggy and the interface for it is super counter intuitive! Currently the only way to listen offline is to go to settings and toggle the mediations you want to download. However after you do this there is no way to view easily which ones are synced for offline listening. In addition once you have found the ones you thought you synced and selected it, it doesn’t load saying no internet connection when offline. Considering the high monthly membership price I think offline listening should be a way less buggy and hard to use feature!

Overpriced Garbage. How this app is so popular is beyond me. All the meditations are repetitive. Once you hear the first one the rest are all the same. There’s also far too much talking through the meditation with constant interruptions. There isn’t a simple timer to do a quick meditation without guidance. The Apple Watch app doesn’t work at all. I am absolutely kicking myself for paying a years subscription. When I raised these issues with support I got zero help and then when I asked if i could get a partial refund two months in I was told no, both by Apple and Headspace. Complete rubbish company that doesn’t care about their customers just the $$$. Not really practicing what you preach Headspace. I strongly urge everyone who is considering paying the full subscription to check out Insight Timer. Very similar guided meditations only with more variety, and it’s absolutely free. There is a paid option but the bulk of it is free. And you can make your own custom timers. Don’t throw your money away on this overhyped app.

The core strength of this app remains Andy Puddicombe. Just a reminder folks; 1) The best parts of this app as it gets more gargantuan, are the core base partsoriginally created by Andy Puddicombe’s narrations and teachings. These are clearly based on years of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom training, which potentially elevate this app above competitors such as ‘calm’. Search out his sessions in the app first. 2) listen to the “common obstacles” parts under “deepen your practice” which deal with the common misunderstandings of what stillness meditation is really about in practice. 3) Always try to repeat a certain theme meditation course with Andy 3 times minimum to fully benefit. 4) the “sleepcasts” stories under sleep section using a pair of EarPods in your ears overnight are amazingly good for insomnia issues.

PLEASE GIVE US A QUEUE FEATURE. I really love this app and have been using it for a while now. It’s amazing and really helps me relax and especially helps me fall asleep. HOWEVER 1. It needs to have a queue or auto play feature. I want to be able to play the racing mind sleep meditation and then have it go into a soundscape or something to play for the rest of the night. I’m supposed to be going to sleep not picking up my phone again to add another audio. 2. Enough with the incessant talking. There needs to be a feature where I can turn down the guidance. I know how to do noting. I know how to count down from 10. I don’t need it explained multiple times in depth every time I’m trying to go to sleep. There needs to be a semi-guided option for more than just the regular meditations. Please implement it in sleepcasts and especially nighttime SOS’s. Thank you 💖

10/10. Headspace is a great tool and guide to meditation and mindfulness that caters to every need. Every feature of the app is user-friendly and delivered in high quality. The proven benefits of daily mindfulness include improved physical, mental, social, emotional, and psychological function and well-being which greatly helps to improve quality of life. Headspace makes mindfulness accessible, engaging, and easy, which is why I highly recommend this platform to anyone, whether new to, or familiar with, mindfulness and meditation. I have benefited greatly from this app, particularly the mindfulness section for sleep, which has helped me to wind down, and sleep deeper. 10/10. Mindfulness for every person, every need, whenever.

Quite good. The problem with some of these meditation audio things is that the person who is speaking doesn’t quite relaxing, sometimes being to forceful, or to loud, to quick with the words. But with this one the person speaks softly and quietly during the sessions but then talks normally at the end making it so that they sound real. As well as this the option for different services depending on what you need it pretty good, even though you need to pay for some, they give a wide range of different options. One thing as well as this is the face that they have animations to describe certain things which might be hard to picture without them, this gives them a uniqueness that I haven’t seen before in any other way.

Using daily for 40+ days. This is the first meditation program that resonates with me. It’s not spiritual. It’s science based. Explanations are concise, Literally minute or two long and then it’s into learning the skill. 40+ days and really feel the benefits. The only thing I’d say is to sign up via the website and not the App Store because you can’t upgrade the AppStore subscription to family plan. I’d also recommend seeing a professional and discussing with your doctor if your atress/anxiety is off the scale. It’s hard to know that it is off the scale until you do the quick questionnaire in the app at the start. We are so conditioned to just having to ‘deal with it’ like it’s a normal part of life but there is a lot you can do to reframe that and this app is one important piece of the solution.

Not a gift at all. Terrible customer service. I got a supposed free gift which covertly diverts you to a paid subscription. Of course I did not sign up. I emailed them repeatedly to say I just want my free one month gift and not be forced to sign up to a subscription. I would have to chase replies. Finally a supervisor emailed me and lied. She lied that every email has been replied to when that was false and I had been chasing replies. She lied that I confirmed a subscription when I did not have a subscription. She tried to deflect blame from staff and place it on me. When you do things online, when you have an online business, it’s incredibly important that there is no ambiguity whatsoever to someone who you are supposedly giving a gift to. I think not understanding my concerns, misrepresenting my communication with your staff, misrepresenting your process and my steps, is problematic and does not leave me with a very good impression

Definitely renewing subscription. Such a gentle, compassionate approach to meditation. The layout and design makes it really easy to navigate and find a meditation that suits you. It’s also just really cute. I started off with a ‘Having Difficult Conversations’ meditation and it gave me the courage at the time to say what I needed to say in a way that represented me and advocated for myself. It was really powerful. I’ve also done way more meditations than I expected on a somewhat-consistent manner and although I can’t really tell if it’s made a huge difference, I feel better for it every time. I like the goals and the streaks and the minutes meditated. I like the mindful moment notifications. I love the courses and how you can choose 5, 10, or 15 minutes. I like how there’s options for guided, semi-guided and unguided meditations. There’s honestly a lot to explore on Headspace and I think they’ve come a long way and have been really innovative all while keeping the focus on the simplicity of meditation which is training the mind using your breath. and taking a moment to pause and exist without judging ourselves, which is really valuable in this busy world. I would definitely recommend it to people I know.

Pain Management Course. Helping me so much in slowly learning how to manage chronic abdo/ pelvic pain caused by endo. After years of dealing with Crohn’s disease and finally being in remission I had no idea why my period pain was still so debilitating as well. Early 2021 I had endo excised and the pain came straight back after 2 weeks and I was so distressed, disappointed and lost. Using this as part of my toolkit (as well as tens machine, pelvic physio, nsaids, psychology, very gentle exercise, 4 day work week) is helping me improve steadily. I’ve learnt it takes time for the brain and central nervous system to rewire, to not be in a state of emergency all the time.

Great app for people that need it. You are not alone. Anxiety and stress are hard to deal with for some and with the thoughts and constant movement of our minds can be overwhelming at times, headspace puts you in state of tranquility as your mind comes back to here and now. The mind wonders and headspace is just helping you acknowledge that and to set some time for yourself to become more aware and embrace it as it is part of being a human. Lots of great exercises spanning for 30 days, but it is all about consistency to make it a routine, cause anxiety does not go away. Continue and see the power of the mind and how you gain control over it through consistency. Great app. exercise, Live, laugh, love and meditate. 🇲🇰🇦🇺

Absolutely disgusting. This app is fantastic if you have large amounts of money to blow on a meditation app that gets repetitive after a while. I was disgusted when I decided to try a meditation that lasted longer than 10 minutes and discovered that even though I was paying them $100 a year that the 20 minute versions are pretty much sat in complete silence with the narrator popping in every now and again to remind you to breathe or focus on something in your body. Not only is that bad enough. But when you’re cancelling your subscription they ask you not once, but twice if you’re absolutely sure you want to cancel and will even attempt to bribe you with a one off discount. This app is targeted at people who are struggling with mental health issues. Who may already have problems saying no or canceling things and Headspace is exploiting that for all that they can. They’re not trying to help people, they’re trying to take advantage of vulnerable people. I initially canceled my subscription because I currently can’t afford to pay the subscription fee. But after being continuously asked if I was 100% sure I wanted to cancel my membership, I don’t think I’ll be renewing it in the future.

Cmon guys!. I love so much about this app. The different length meditations, the idea of a program of meditations focussing on different aspects of mental health and wellbeing, the visual diagrams and animations and the tracking of progress and reward but the biggest downfall of this app is the cost per month. I know many say “it’s an investment in your health”but a commitment of $12 or so per month with all the other technology available and the tight budgets many people operate on, it’s just one more cost and it can be hard to justify. Perhaps a more budget level in there with less access than premium but more than free would be good. $6.00 per month??? I’d sign up on that

Peacefulness. For the last year I have been dealing with depression and anxiety, I was near suicidle and there is no way in my life I ever thought I’d be in that position. I didn’t go to the doctor until about 3 months ago because I was in denial. I don’t like medication for anything, not even headaches (I literally think water can fix everything) but knew that I needed to balance the chemicals in my body. I also realised that I’m extremely insecure and bashful yet humble with who I am as a person. Headspace has helped me so much with being in touch with who I am and my own body and being happy with it and not let others define who I am because I am one with myself. Thanks headspace you’ve made a massive change happen in my life and I can honestly say you have saved me. -Stacey

Surprisingly facilitative. I’ve practiced yoga and meditation for over 7 years now and also teach. The mind constantly resets and finds new ways of reacting, drifting, building patterns and habits and layers. Headspace is a really effective shortcut to 10 minutes of space - observation. The app facilitates focus on being the observer rather than following trains of thought. The tone of voice of the guide is neutral and supportive without condescension or patronisation and gives clear direction, supported by reasoning (to help the adult-learner). Videos and daily quotes also help to keep me in touch with my practice. I highly recommend this app especially for newcomers and equally for well-practiced meditators who haven’t chosen the monastic life. If life is a game then Headspace is a bonus tool!

a small price for a skill for life. I’ve been using the headspace app for 3 or 4 years now and it’s honestly invaluable, it’s seriously changed my entire mindset and the courses are so helpful, especially appreciation! I still find myself learning and realising more every day! My only criticism is the organisation of the courses and singles, every few months the layout and organisation of the app completely changes so it’s hard to find courses that I’m looking for - the ‘my courses’ area has also been removed so it’s hard to find ones that I’ve saved or completed in the past, I’d love to have this back or some kind of Wishlist/to do type of menu. I totally get that it might be hard to decide how to categorise all the courses but I’d prefer if they stick with one method rather than trying out every option and constantly changing! Still 5 stars for the content

Amazing app & outstanding customer service. The Headspace app is amazing, love the content and the layout and everything about it, but what has made it number one for me is the outstanding customer service I received from Uma who’s dedication to assisting customers with technical support for log in issues is second to none, she was so helpful in assisting me with troubleshooting my account after I had problems accessing my subscription, her instructions were easy to understand and follow and she even compensated me for the trouble I had with my account of which I am sincerely grateful. Uma is an asset to the company and I will continue to be a loyal member following this outstanding service. Thank you Headspace, highly recommend your app!!

No results. I’ve been using this app for over 1 year. Followed it religiously with 20 min sessions each day. I can honestly say it has made little to no difference in my attitude or behavior at all. In fact, I feel more frustrated and angry with each month that passes and no change... it’s often slow to download which I admit is more likely my network issue, but none the less... it’s clumsy at best...waiting for it to load each day ... you can’t stay connected to the internet or cellular networks while meditating because if you get a phone call or a message, it interrupts the practice. So you have to remember to switch all that off and especially alarms. It’s an expensive membership and you soon run out of ‘courses’ with relative subjects - and then realize they are all more or less the same thing. It’s either a visualization technique or noting... and 80% of the spoken content is the same for every session.

Not deathly earnest - A little humour in his voice.. I find the presenters voice calming and soothing without being horribly earnest. There is a smile in his voice. I am new to meditation and have found using this guided introduction has really worked. I now use it daily (10mins) in the morning and although I don’t always manage to hit the quota, I have found the suggested daily exercises are really beginning to affect a feeling of well being in me. For me, this app has been the welcomed ease in to meditation I have been looking for. It wasn’t immediate, but 7 months in I can say it has actually changed the way I approach things and has given me some calm and perspective - sometimes. Highly recommended.

Crashes, excessive data usage, sloooooow. It'd be a lot easier to meditate if the app didn't crash randomly every couple of minutes. It might be crashing because I disabled data. I had to disable the data because the app went crazy and downloaded 2gb during my meditation last week. It appears to be downloading packs for offline storage but I'd rather it only did that on a WiFi connection. Audible and other similar apps give you this option, so should Headspace. I have tried to uncheck some of the packs so it'll stop downloading them but the app is barely responsive on an iPhone 7 so I can't do it. Otherwise, the meditation packs are good quality and somewhat helpful. However, the price of a subscription is crazy so I won't bother renewing after this year ends. I only signed up because I found a 50% discount coupon. It's just too expensive for what it is.

Love this app but 1 request. I love this app. I have been using this app for about a month and it has changed my life. It is definitely a bit pricey and it would be great if they reduced that. In the most recent update they took away the search feature. I really like this because I could easily change my meditation depending on what mood I was in but now I need to find out which section everything is in. With the constant changing of this I find it much harder to work. I really hope they bring the search feature back in the next update but other than that this app has really improved my lifestyle.

The very best app I have. I decided to purchase Headspace after doing a one month meditation challenge. I knew I’d need easy access to guided meditation if I had any hope of continuing the practice. It took me a while to really start to use it to its full potential. Now, more than two years on, I start and end each day with Headspace. I use the workouts at the gym. I set aside time to meditate during my work day. I use the driving mindfulness activity when I’ve had a stressful day. The range of content is incredible - and it’s consistently being updated. I never bother to take the time to write reviews, but in this case, this is the most useful and most frequently used app I own. It’s made such a dramatic impact on my life - I would absolutely recommend it to everyone.

Money hungry. I loved the headspace interactive video on Netflix it really helps me when I need it the most so I was so excited to realise they have an app, only to be met with disappointment when downloading the app and realising that in order to use practically any of the benefits that app provides you need to pay. How are you going to promote yourself as supporters of mental health and then continue to practically force someone to pay a membership in order to access any help. That is so backwards to me. Especially when it proven that those who who come from a low socioeconomic background are more likely to have bad mental health and have less access to health professionals like therapists so to try and salvage their mental health through apps like yours. (which you have practically made unavailable to a market of people who need you the most) Not to mention young children who could benefit immensely from the services you provide. I’m sure the app itself is good but how would I know because I won’t pay for a subscription

BEWARE AUTOMATIC RENEWAL!. While this App helped me manage acute anxiety triggered by the sudden death of a parent a year ago, I was shocked recently to discover I was charged $100 for renewal of a year’s subscription I didn’t want and thought I’d turned off. The app is good for helping one navigate through traumatic life events spanning weeks or a few months, but as an everyday practice after a while it’s too rigid and you’re a captive audience for Andy’s incessant philosophising, whether you agree with his pithy sentiments or not. Much better to devise your own meditation practice through joining a weekly group or buying a guidebook and following that once you have the wherewithal. Headspace is another cutely hipsterised, franchised form of meditation, essentially. After several months of daily use I simply resorted to my own quiet meditations and mindfulness moments instead. Anyway, personal meditation practice is free. Only use this app if you’re a bit lost and need a passive crutch or your hand held for a while. This app didn’t save my life, but it did help me emerge far earlier from an exceptional bout of grief-induced anxiety than I would have without it. I’m now awaiting a possible refund for the unwanted subscription renewal, which may or may not materialise.

Love the app, but not the recent white screens update!. Look, I love this app. Meditations are great, lots of variety and reasonably priced. However, the most recent update changes the screen that is showing to get started with a meditation, which is fine except the sleep section has a few meditations that have a pure bright white screen after you click “begin”, which is not what you want last thing, or in the middle of the night! Several months ago I asked headspace about having a “night mode” or changing their loading screen from being bright white for this very reason and was told they had had a lot of feedback about it and would be making a change, and instead they have made it worse!

Little things, Still good.. Hi. My account name is MatildaHeadSpace12. I have just started today, And when I finish this, I will be doing session 5. I already love this game, But, What I would recommend is... [ by the way I edited this, make more stuff free! ] 1 a server area, where you can create a server, and the limit of people would be 50. And it would be free, And people from the country the owner of the headspace server would only get people from they’re country. 2 a place where you can search usernames and friend them. 3 a downloading area, Where you can download the locked HeadSpace things individually. ( EVERYTHING PLEASE ) 4 a customizing area!! Where you can press on your circle thing and go to customizing. And there would be a decoration area, Where you could add mindful stuff like [ I don’t really know what to say to be honest ] And you can take a picture and add it as your profile picture, Choose something from the gallery, Or customize your character and add it as your profile picture. 5 A public server, That you and the others who helped make this’s server, [ Everyone can join, Duh! ] 6 A mindful house, Where you can decorate your house with furniture, And pictures that say mindful stuff on it. 7 BLEEPING OUT WORDS FOR TALKING! [ I hope you already do ] Other than that, I love this so far! Also try finding what memes are please ;-;

Using Headspace for 2+ years has changed my life for the better. I’ve been using Headspace since I started meditating 2+ years ago. In this time I’ve gradually seen myself become happier, less stressed, more accepting of other and, most importantly, recognising that how you interact with your emotions is what’s going to define your success in life. The techniques you learn are age-old, scientifically-backed techniques for better dealing with your emotions and they do work - however, as with everything in life you only get out what you put in. Building a regular, stable meditation practice will be a struggle at times - but it will also be one of the best things you ever do for yourself.

Headspace is Fantastic. Headspace is an amazing app with a wide range of meditations to suit anyone. There is one for going to bed, short one’s, long one’s and even some for the middle of the day. The only problem that I have found is that a lot of the meditations have to be unlocked when you buy a subscription or buy the whole package! But without paying you still get quite a lot of meditations you can repeat and it still has the same facilities like how long you have spent meditating form when you bought it and the it always tells you the benefits of meditating and if you choose to enable it you can get headspace to send you daily messages to keep you calm and in the right state of mind. I definitely think you should download headspace!!!!!

Thank you for headspace. I’ve been using this app for the past year now and have come to love and rely on it as part of mine and my family’s every day world. I’ve found headspace to be the most helpful app for actually teaching and training me how to develop mindfulness. While others have been wonderful for one off meditations to support with falling asleep or difficult emotions, headspace is structured more as a class that helps to build skill and technique, supported by so many stories, excerpts and animations. I would love to see this be more accessible to more people by having varied cost options, a one off subscription price or higher rotation of courses through the free version. To Andy... thank you. Sincerely, just, thank you.

Best App for increasing consciousness. Have been using this app for the past 3 years and love it. I have tried all the other apps but this is by far the best. The interface is easy to use, the meditations are brilliant. I’m a psychologist and I can attest Andy has delved very deeply into the inner workings of the mind and is able to explain it in a simple and relatable way. The meditations are deceptively simple but the results are profound. It’s like having a meditation master in your house to help you through life no matter what situation you will be sure to find a pack or single meditation that will suit you situation. Just don’t expect the results over night. I would highly recommend combining it with journaling or some other creative activity to help explore and gain a greater understanding of what you observe whilst meditating. I give it 5 stars and I have even become a lifetime member 😊🙏🏻

Amazing. Throughout my life people have suggested meditation, but it never appealed to me. Headspace is a game changer. Wow. I’ve been using it for a few months now & the effects on my calmness of mind, focus & inner strength are noticeable, proving the worth of meditation, but that is not the reason I love Headspace. It’s the way everything is presented, the different formats & lengths available, the guide’s beautiful calming voice, the little animations explaining core concepts, the range of content from one-off meditations to courses on particular topics, the way you’re taught to help yourself over time. So much thought has gone into this app. It’s non-threatening & non-judgemental, just offers guidance & support to help you learn these skills. Love Headspace so much it’s mind-blowing!

Getting my life back. I love Headspace. I suffered my 1st massive panic attack 16 weeks ago. It turned life as I know it upside down as I then had multiple anxiety & panic attacks. Found myself in hospital twice. Unable to function in my day to day life. Unable to go to work, be a mum, partner or daughter. Didn’t want to leave the bedroom as fear gripped me and not coping with many sounds & visuals. Headspace allowed me to learn to meditate at my own pace with the quite calming voices of Andy & Eve. After the basics meditation course there are many courses you can do - anxiety, pain, happiness - plus much more such as the exercise programs, sleep casts, focus music and relaxing nature videos. My recovery is slow but Headspace has been on my daily check list towards my recovery and I’m extremely grateful for it. I often find tears on my face after a meditation - it’s such a relief to have an app I can count on - it feels like a non judgemental friend. I’m able to leave my home again but any time I feel overwhelmed I can pop in my headphones and do a SOS mediation where ever I am. It working for me and I highly recommend it as a place to learn and build a meditation routine into your life. It’s a soft place to land and self care for yourself in particular in these fast paced & challenging times.

Headspace is helping me recover from Anxiety!. I recently subscribed and it is the best thing you can do! The value for money is amazing! For $19 a month the amount of access to hundreds of different courses such as ‘Managing anxiety’ have helped me reframe my relationship with anxiety. The results of adopting mindfulness meditation was as quick as a week! Even after a couple of sessions I felt more confident and at ease with my thoughts and my mind which for me at one point felt impossible. I had tried many things except true mindfulness and it was the solution!! Andy has honestly changed my entire view of life and myself! But anyone and everyone can benefit from this, the headspace library is jam packed with meditations for everything you can imagine and it IS worth the subscription. In fact I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it now. Love it! Going to keep meditating forever!

Needs a subscription for all the courses. I like using this app as it has made me feel more relaxed and at ease at times of anxiety. The characters are cute too 😊 However, like any other app or website that’s good you have to pay a subscription in order to unlock the courses and other meditations that you perhaps wanted to do, and after doing nearly all of the unlocked ones I realised that I had to pay. That’s absolutely fine, however I reckon meditation should be free and all the courses and meditations should be free to everyone because you should be able to do meditation at any time without having to pay for anything. If you are stuck at home, broke because of COVID, etc, I think they should at least lower the prices a little or make it free (not trying to be stingy) and instead be a free helpful tool for people around the world to use whenever they need it and not having to worry about paying a subscription next year or whatever because they don’t have the money.

Big fan, but not of late. I’d like to start this by saying this app has helped me monumentally over the years. Meditation has played a great role in helping me get through illness, death and hardship in the years that I’ve had it. The beginner to pro courses are fantastic, the guidance videos are simple and easy to understand and the apps interface is fantastic. However I do not understand why there is so little technical content; like alternative techniques, different teachers with Buddhist or other traditional backgrounds. Instead there are meditation courses that are Star Wars themed and aimed at women’s rights? Today I saw a recommended video on pronouns and power. What the hell do pronouns and politics have to do with meditation? If these political videos leaned right wing too I’d have a problem with them. I’m Australian, I do not care about your politics. Keep politics and star wars out of a meditation app and maybe, focus on teaching meditative techniques? Even the ones that aren’t political are kind of nonsense. It’s really upsetting to see how bad the courses have become now. I’ve been a huge fan of this app for years and it’s had a huge impact on my life and mental well-being. I want to keep using it, but if it continues to be flooded with political nonsense and pop culture references, I will find another app.

Great app for practising mindfulness with a few drawbacks. After 3 years of using Headspace I think now I can give it a fair review. The courses cover a great range of topics for wellbeing. The single meditation sessions are also great for occasional users. You have the option to choose your sessions’s duration which is also great. I have come across a few bugs though. Occasional errors occur when doing courses, e.g. it repeats the session you have already done, or stops playing the session. It has also happened to me that my run streak has been reset for no reason, however, their support team will fix it for you if you contact them. Finally, if I want to improve this great app, I would keep it as simple as possible. Sometimes suggestions on the home page are distracting which is against the philosophy of mindfulness. But the good thing is that they avoid gamifying meditation and they already keep things simple and professional. Well done Headspace!

Thank you Headspace. Although medicated for ADHD, concentration /focus is still a challenge. The shortness of the sessions are almost perfect for me. I say almost perfect because I totally lose focus toward the end and miss the instruction. However, this is a benefit for practicing an enquiring mind because I have to know what I missed😀. Therefore, an added benefit is that I get to listen to the session twice. This is also very helpful as both my age and medication affect my short term memory. Already after a few sessions with Headspace I have gleaned some very useful advice/tips. When anxious and rushing and driving somewhere I have made myself turn onto a quiet street, stop my car and employ a couple of techniques. Thank you Headspace.

Life changing:. Dear Reader, This might seem overblown as a title for an application on ones phone, but I promise you now that if you pick this up, and follow it daily I will change your life for the better. This app pulled me out of chronic pain, it has helped me improve my relationships with those of whom I care about, it has helped me reshape the way I look at emotions and it has empowered me to know what to do with them when they arise. I cannot thank Andy and the Headspace team for the work they do enough. The money I spent on this application is some of the best money I’ve ever spent and if you are struggling with any of the things I have listed above, I implore you, to give this a shot. It might change your life too.

I was sceptical but it’s making a huge difference in my life. When my older brother, the least meditate-y person I could imagine, told he’d started using Headspace and found it was making a big difference to his days, that was good enough for me. Starting with the basics was quick and easy and, within a week, I found myself feeling slightly but noticeably less reactive. I’d have moments of just feeling peaceful (after the continual background anxiety of these times, that was a noticeable and very welcome feeling). I’ve always known that I get emotional very easily and that my emotions sometimes get in the way of things I want to achieve. Doing Headspace seems to be teaching my body and mind to see an emotion and go, oh yeah, that’s another feeling, there’ll be another one of those coming past any minute - rather than, ‘Oh God, that feeling is because of ... blah blah blah ... and then climb right into the feeling and make up stories about it and stay in it. I feel like it gives me room to step back a little bit and watch my mind and my feelings rather than being in them and exhausted by them. I really like the library of other meditations too, like the SOS ones for particular times when you think you need some help to get back into your life, rather than being caught in your mind.

Great but missing a few things. I love this app so much, I sometimes struggle to fall asleep but the sleepcasts have truly helped me with this. This app has encouraged me to start meditating and being more mindful. I already feel so much more positive and happier in my life. There are a few things that bug me, I’d love to have the sleepcasts/music/etc continue playing (unless I pause it) while I’m going about the app, I like the noise in my head when I’m searching through the different stories and it’s a little bit jarring when it suddenly stops because I have to exit. I also would like a fast forward/rewind option as sometimes I’ll accidentally exit out of the story and I’ll no longer want to listen to the first 20mins that I’ve already listened to again. I’ve also paused my story to go to the bathroom and when I’ve returned it had stopped completely and I couldn’t fast forward to where I had left off this was quite frustrating when I’m trying to relax

Preys on the mentally ill... Huh? How so? By making it nearly impossible to leave. Well I have to say, Headspace has great content. This critical review, however, focusses on the number of clicks required to leave. It’s not a simple process. The link provided in the email “manage subscription” doesn’t work; it perpetually says “an error occurred -try again later”. After a few days of trying to cancel (presuming you were mentally healthy and had a lot of persistence) you might wonder what is going on and try other avenues. In the app there is a menu item called “account” which takes you through a lengthy process that goes along the lines of “sorry to see you go” “why are you cancelling?” “What if we offer you a 50% discount?” “Are you sure?…” click the third or fourth cancel button… and it becomes apparent that you still have not successfully cancelled.. there are 6 or 7 more steps that must be performed in iOS’s settings! This is an unacceptable mode of operation for a service that is quick to bill you for an entire year if you don’t cancel quickly. It’s unclear whether all this is the incompetence of the developer/user experience team or the engineered brainchild of an unconscionable business/marketing department that sees the dollars from accidental yearly subscriptions.

Amazing for sleep and anxiety issues. I am into my second year subscription of this app and couldn’t recommend it enough. I use it almost nightly to help with falling asleep and waking up in the middle of the night. The sleep section is far my most used part of the app and makes the subscription worth it for me on its own. Meditations and check ins are great too. It could be improved by enhancing the playback settings, if I pause a session and open another app, it wipes where I was up to. It is also annoying not being able to rewind or fast forward in the sleepcasts and other sleep assists. It is also unclear how to download recordings for offline playback so this should be more obvious/intuitive. Otherwise a brilliant app!

Easy to use, life changing results. I’ve been using Headspace for a couple of years and I can’t speak highly enough of the benefit it has brought to my life. Before finding Headspace I had tried meditating on my own and with other apps but I couldn’t seem to get the hang of it and felt like I was always doing it wrong. Headspace has taught me the basics of meditation as well as how to use meditation techniques in daily life to stay grounded and in touch with my body and feelings. The app is easy to use, the insurrections are easy to understand and I especially love the animations that explain meditation techniques. I recommend Headspace to anyone who are interested in meditation or struggles with anxiety like me.

DOWNLOAD THIS, RIGHT NOW!!. If your reading this, your most likely stressed or as the app likes to say ‘need some headspace in your life’. And this is the app for just that! I cannot think of anything bad for this app honestly, it’s great! There is sleep meditations that I do every night (I recommend the nighttime sos one called racing mind) that send me right to sleep! Personally, I am super paranoid when I try to go to sleep. But since headspace, I have been completely ok with going to sleep at night. They have meditations for everything! I’m pretty sure they have over 1 thousand from walking meditations to kindness workouts. Seriously, download this app. In the morning you can watch the daily program ‘the wake up’. Please, if you can do anything to help your health it’s download this app. Do it. Now.

Learning to show up for myself. Headspace is without doubt one of the most important purchases I’ve made. Practicing meditation has started transform my mind in so many positive ways. I’m a worrier, a constant worrier. I’m tremendously hard on myself and have really suffered as a result of past traumas and ptsd. Showing up most days at first for 5 mins or so, then eventually moving forward to every day for 15-20 mins, has given me the tools to step out of the tangle my mind gets into and become a much calmer and nicer person to myself and everyone around me. Even if you think you could never meditate I would give it a go. I never thought I would…and I never write reviews haha Thanks headspace for guiding me to a calmer place x

Awesome!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Hey guys, awesome app! Really great with all it’s awesome features and videos. I really like the Wake Up every morning, love that there’s always something new to watch and enjoy. Also, really love those group meditations, always love to chime in with whichever meditation is on. Our family do something every morning called “Morning Mindfulness” where we all sit down in a circle and meditate for 3 minutes to get ready for the day ahead. Some go good, other times we get interrupted by our miniature schnauzer dog Captain i.e. Licked or terminated, depends on his mood. Maybe he needs Headspace to calm him down!😂 So yeah, really great app guys, no glitches or problems, works perfectly fine. Job well done to Andy and crew.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

good but... this is amazing and gets me to sleep every time buttttt I just wish there were more free options🥺

Headspace’s inability to name anti-Black racism and police brutality. Headspace just released a session focused on “mindfulness in the face of injustice,” in response to recent events in the US. In the resultant “lesson,” the narrator refuses to even say the words racism, police brutality, anti-Black discrimination, etc. Instead, he speaks to concerns people may have of protests turning violent - without even acknowledging the fear and exasperation underlying the protests in the first place. I understand that Headspace has a broad viewership, but if it’s not prepared to name racism, it is inappropriate to profit off this moment of pain by sanitizing it and bringing it up as a “lesson.” Headspace could be a really powerful tool for equipping people with the skills to listen deeply and engage with hard conversations about race, which which provoke intense emotional reactions in people. As a white person, I wish I had more mindfulness tools to engage in this work of unpacking privilege and acknowledging harm. But unfortunately, Headspace has not yet proven to be a platform that enables this important work.

Super expensive. Lmao it’s a good app if you have money but if you’re poor and anxious like me, I guess we just suffer

Fail!. This is a PAID app, disguised as a free one... Nothing WORSE as a scammer! FAIL! Do NOT download!

Awful. You have to do a trial and then it makes you pay $89 a month so I don’t think it’s a very good app so for the people that like it though unless you wanna pay $89 a month feel free to use this but if you don’t wanna pay $89 a month don’t use it at all

too expensive. the prices are ridiculous for an app that’s supposed to help with mental health and there almost zero free options, not impressed

High Pricing. Prices are too much, not even worth it..

too expensive. It’s 2019 it’s absurd to charge these kinds of prices for someone’s mental health and well being. In an age where resources are made available via things like YouTube. Thank U, Next 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just great!. I've been using this app on and off for a few years and it always seems like I'm coming home when I open it up. The new Daily meditations are such a good idea! So far I've loved them. My only thing is that I miss the Buddy part of the app. It was nice to be able to nudge or be nudged by my sister. Other than that, the packs are great, Andy's voice is soothing... it's just overall great!

Money grab. This is a money grab, and used against people who have mental health issues, it is unacceptable that the prices for these sounds are so astronomically high. Some people are actually struggling, the prices are sickening.

Have some free options. Not everyone has 20 bucks to dish out a month. No one who has anxiety or anything other mental health problems asked for them so why is ok for you to charge them to get something that help them. It takes advantage of people’s mental health to make money and that isn’t right

Can’t get past the first screen. It has a button saying “Explore headspace” but hitting it down nothing and it just sits there. I can’t try the app at all if it won’t even let me in?? All the recent five star reviews seem suspiciously similar. Makes me wonder if they’re real reviews (as another reviewer also said).

scammers. I was very disappointed. A total waste of my money. They also renewed my annual subscription although I canceled it. I sent 7 messages to the customer service but the never responded!

Feel Scammed. I signed up for a trial and immediately forgot that I had downloaded the app. Once the trial was up I wasn't sent an email reminder and was charged $96 CAD. That's fine I know I signed up for the trial, but when I contacted headspace to ask for a refund explaning my mistake and that I never used the app and never will, I was denied a refund. I feel that it is poor business to encourage people to sign up for something with promotions but not offer reminder emails or refunds, especially at such a high price tag.

Worst ads possible. Please quit using a crying baby at the start of your damn ads. Obnoxious, and ensures folks loathe your company

Money grab. Nothing on this app is free. You need to spend 20$ a month to access the content. Ridiculous. At least, have a starting price (15$) without monthly payment. We buy an app, not a service

Outrageous price!. $17.99/mo! Are you insane? I pay that amount for FOUR devices on Netflix who actually create content that COSTS MONEY! What is wrong with you ppl!!!!!

GAVE ME A HEADACHE. it gave me a headache trying to find a free one THIS IS A SCAM NONE OF THEM ARE FREE

Sucks. So expensive. Why would it make you pay if you just want to sleep

Great app to waste 30 minutes. 3 mins of audio available for free .. 16524 locked items that need subscriptions.

Keeps crashing. App keeps crashing after 5 minutes whatever I play, even restarted phone to trouble shoot, still crashing. So frustrating when you need to relax and actually getting more agitated with this happening. I love this app, so please fix asap.

Do not sign up for Free trial!. For an app that promotes compassion and caring about people who struggle you would think their business practice would be the same! I have a precarious financial situation currently and this app promotes its ‘free trial’ as a service for people who can not afford the hefty 90$ fee. I accidentally did not cancel the trial properly and was was charged. I asked politely to have it refunded the day I was charged and customer service REFUSED. Now I am missing a desperately needed 90$ (for crazy things like rent and food) and this app has cause me to be even more of a desperate situation. I am literally crying right now. Making it hard to cancel free trials is a despicable business practice that Amazon Prime is being sued for currently. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH HEADSPACE

app prices. opened the app because i wanted to try meditation and find a way to calm down at night. i could not find a single thing that i didn’t need to start a free trial and subscribe for. there should be free options for those that do not have the money.

Difficult to cancel. Tried to cancel my subscription but faced an technical difficulty. Reached out to Headspace team, but they stated “hight level of requests” and never came back to me. It’s been ten days and counting.

Can’t do anything without paying now :(. Use to be able to watch the Basics one but even that requires a subscription now. Not worth $18 a month

Very good. This is a great app it helps with my anxiety

too expensive. really, this is a great app. the meditations are really good and helpful, there’s a wide variety, and for many different reasons but why is it so expensive? not everyone has the income to spend $17.99 a MONTH on meditations. also, there is a very limited amount of meditations available for free members. if you could lower the price to maybe $10 a month, max, and widen the variety of options available for free user, you may have more people willing to buy premium. or, even better, you could make all of them available for free, but a premium version available as well to remove ads or be able to download meditations, etc., because i understand that you must be able to make money from this application. i just think almost twenty dollars a month is an extravagant amount to pay for an app that isn’t even catered towards the user specifically, especially when there are many users that cannot afford such pricey mental health care. basically, the app is really well made with many quality meditations but premium is simply way too overpriced.

Great to start meditating. Hi! I just wanna say that I learned the very basics of meditation with this app, I try to meditate at list 3 times a week, It helped me to release tension, specially in the morning I wake up sometimes tense, but I use head space to meditate and then I am good to go to start my day! Thanks to head space I know I can slow down and breath, I know that all is good and that I can be at peace with my mind😊 . Thank you!

Expensive. In an age where so much is free on YouTube and the App Store...to charge 90$ a year or 18$ a month for a mediation app? Are you kidding me? I spend less on Netflix or amazon prime. It’s absurd. Use calm. I love it and it’s free.

Good idea, bad planning. The app is kind of misleading. Even though it’s a free app you barely get any of the options for free. I wanted to use the app to help me sleep, and I think I had two or so free options of each category otherwise I had to pay for the subscription. If I could afford the subscription I would probably do it, but I just think the app should have more options available without paying. From the few things I did try out, it seems like a cool idea.

Poor Customer Service. I’a big fan of this app, however I’m disappointed in the customer service. 2 weeks ago the app crashed, and prompted me to log back in. Unfortunately I couldn’t remember my exact password, and was hoping to use the ‘forgot password’ process. I have yet to receive what I believe should be an automated response with a link. I have also written a number of emails, also to no avail. I’m a paying customer, and although I was willing to allow some leeway for this to be resolved, it has now been 2 weeks. Please help!

💩. Me personally say this app is not even okay because you have to pay to do anything practically and before you even get started you can only pick one topic I wouldn’t get this app if I knew what it was like

DEFINITELY GET THIS APP OMG. This app has helped me so much with falling asleep, also since it’s free and has so many good free options, it’s obviously very affordable.

To Expensive.. I used to have this app before you had to pay for it all. It was the best. Absolutely loved it. I could finally sleep well and everything else I wanted to use this app for. Now? I can’t even use the one sleep story that helps me fall asleep the fastest. I don’t have the money to pay for it. Make it free or more of it free anyways. Or even just lower the price. By a lot. It’s just way to expensive smh.

What happened to free options?. I've had this app since 2018 and I've been using the free options like the basics course and sleepcast. Suddenly 2022 comes around and NOTHING is free on this app and I mean NOTHING. Not any courses, not any music, not even "take 5 deep breaths" is free. What on Earth happened? I hope there's a good explanation for this because I am disappointed. Uninstalling and never recommending to anyone.

It seems good and it said free but is it free No. It’s 100% NOT free

Technically glitches. I think the app is great when it’s working. And I still would like to use it but I can’t. My app crashed in a mass of automatic log outs log in failures and not recognizing my subscription. I’ve been talking to customer service for week but still nothing. I’m giving up now. Real shame they can’t manage to fix it for me. But I’m spending a lot of time writing emails and very little time mediating so I think I have to go elsewhere.

Money. Too much of the stuff needs to be paid for. I get if you want some stuff to cost money but enough is enough. There are only 3ish things on there that don’t cost money :) Thanks for reading.

Love love love this app, buuuut. Since the newest update I haven't been able to mediate cause there's an error. It won't let me renew my membership. I tried making another account and it still isn't working. Please fix this, or I'm in going to need to find another app to meditate with.

Wayyyy to expensive. This app is way to expensive for me no way I’m gonna pay that much

Over it. They advertised the crap out of this app all over my social media and I finally caved and gave it a shot. Don’t waste your time. Literally everything is locked and must be paid for either on a monthly or annual basis. Their one time fee is $550 (?!) LOL. Nope. Also, I cannot stand that guy’s voice. Oh my god. How narcissistic do you have to be to force everyone to listen to only your voice and not have any other options? “Welcome back” literally triggers me now. Ugh.

Stressful.. One of my biggest anxieties I’m trying to escape and move beyond amidst the pandemic is the stress and fear around not having enough money, since it’s too unsafe for me to work. I can’t afford the “Real” version of this app, I can’t afford to upgrade, and it’s absolutely absurd for an app that’s supposed to help me to keep reminding me that I can’t afford to make my experience better. I want help calming myself and meditating and getting better, not for every option I click on to be locked by the class divide. Everyone deserves to get help for and with their mental health at home, not just the rich.

Suffering from Stress and Anxiety. Being a university student, I am the perfect vessel for uncontrollable stress. This application, didn’t eliminate all my stress, however instead, it helped me reduce it. Headspace gives you the starting point for daily self-mediation sessions. Breathing exercises, calming voice overs, and many more. I would highly recommend this App to anyone suffering with anxiety, or stress, this is a good starting point to find clarity for your mind.

payment. I know this app is for good use but seriously people are stressing about their taxes or money problems and they download this app to help them be less stressful and then you have to pay for literally everything!!!! Stupid.

Awesome. Awesome app to relax just wish to have the other things that we have to unlock without payment

Not Accessible. I don’t know how 25$ CAD is the minimum. The pricing strategy here is CRAZY and excludes most of the population. They don’t care if you feel good, just that you can afford an overpriced app.

What’s the point of the free version - all content is locked. What’s the point of offering a free version of this app when all the recommended content on that version is locked for paid subscription? Just offer the paid version and don’t mislead that the free is of any use. Waste of a download.

Money grab trash. Head space is just a money grab even the free trial doesn’t work I’ve never had any app as bad as this one

🙄. Really? Charging users an arm and a leg for simple meditation? Not everyone has $20 to throw out every month, and almost everything has a pay block infront of it. Mental health matters.

Subscription is too expensive. There is no tiered subscription and although there is no monthly plan it’s twice the price. I would gladly subscribe to the first mindfulness service that offers a plan for $5 a month with monthly renewal.

Just what I needed…thanks Headspace. I tried headspace a few years ago when it was ‘the new thing’, but over time stopped using it because work…family…time constraints… Lately though, the world seems crazy and I found my mind churning on situations I have no control over, really ratcheting up my anxiety. I thought of headspace and the meditation practice that helped calm my mind and decided to try it again. WOW. JUST. WOW. The app has expanded over time to include so many more features: breathing practice, coping strategies, podcasts, personal stories, and of course, terrific meditation practices. A whole daily schedule of short exercises, talks, and meditations - also, *BONUS* nighttime wind-down which helps me fall asleep faster with soothing narrations and sounds. I have to confess though, I’ve listened to ‘Cat Marina’ during the day, just because the cat names and descriptions were so adorable…ha! :-) We’ll done, Headspace! This is the one app I’ll always have on my phone. Thank you, from me and my quiet 🧠

very helpful!. Just last year i started to use headspace after witnessing a close friends passing and going to therapy. i was diagnosed with ptsd, anxiety and bipolar. During this time in my life i was extremely overwhelmed with my own emotions and could barely complete or comprehend day to day task. When i had breakdowns i would use headspace to recollect myself and calm down my racing thoughts. i have always been spiritual and into meditation, so finding an app that helps with guided meditation practices and unusual sleeps schedules made me feel good and comfortable. It made me feel like i was getting back to myself. I recently learned in my Psy class that controlled breathing can help with sudden outbursts or breakdowns, as well as meditation. We once did a an activity in class similar to the breathing techniques on headspace and doing this activity made me feel as if i was doing something right within my mental well being since i brought it upon myself to experience the usage of headspace.

Loving it. I’ve been using for four days and I can honestly say it has helped me tremendously. This isn’t my first attempt at meditation, but it has been my most successful and the attempt in which I’ve learned the most. It’s like the creators of this app got inside my head to figure out exactly what I needed to hear in order to understand and move forward, and then tailored the information just for me! I’m impressed, I’m incredibly grateful, and I’m so excited about my progress. In less than a week, I’m able to notice myself progressing mentally and emotionally, outside of the app in my daily life. I’ve yet to even subscribe, which I absolutely plan on doing once I don’t have a negative bank account (LOL), but the content available for free is quite phenomenal. Having just gone through “The Basics” a bit, I’m noticeably more calm and less irritable. I’m finding myself laughing more, and fighting less with my partner. I’m finding myself handling uncomfortable emotions and situations with patience towards myself and others. Thank you, Headspace. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Replacing my social media. I’ve had an on-again/off-again relationship with headspace for a few years. I love the app, but I’ve had trouble committing and usually fall away after a week or so. However, after having a stressful week, I deleted social media. I was still wanting something to help manage my thoughts, so I returned to Headspace. Since my last use (about a year ago), they’ve added many courses and sessions. And it’s pretty reasonably priced, too! I do one when I wake, one during a short break at work, one when I get home, and one before sleep. I feel better than ever, even though the stresses are still there. I’m especially fond of group meditation, it’s nice to feel a part of something. I love all the options and the reminders. Plus the goal of completing a course is enough to keep me coming back and get in the habit. I think it’s one I’ll keep this time. My brain needs it. I love this app and everyone involved in developing and creating it!! Thanks headapace!!

My mind has been blown!. I’m not usually one to write reviews, but Headspace is well worth the time it takes to write this! I love feeling like I have a coach, he may not respond to me or hear what I say, but he’s there getting me through this mental workout. Before Headspace came into my life, I was very sporadic with my emotions and wasn’t aware on how to fully control them.. to be honest I’m still not sure how to fully control them, but Headspace gives me the tools to stop intense/aggressive emotions before they emerge. I would also always be very overwhelmed with my thoughts and I’d get very anxious about what others thought or really anything dealing with the unknown. Now I’ve been more tamed, I’m more in control of my thoughts and emotions, I’m the driver of my vessel instead of the other way around. I’m incredibly thankful to have this app, if you’re a person who struggles with feeling in control of your being, I highly recommend giving this a try! I start my workday with a 10-minute meditation, and boy do I feel productive when I do that! Thanks Headspace for giving me the tools, much love!

Great Meditation App. I’ve used Headspace for pretty much my entire college career. It helped me get through a lot of inner turmoil I had managed to build up in nursing school. Headspace helped me find a very useful outlet to get out some of the negative thoughts, anxiety, and tension I had built up in my mind and body. I will say that for users that do not pay for the subscription will find that this app can be very limiting in regards to courses available to them. I think that is what had me cave and utilize the student discount which was very much worthwhile. However, now that I’m not a student and work in healthcare I think it would be nice if the app offered other discounts outside of the student and workplace realm. This would be one of the reasons I am unfortunately leaving the app and trying others. Discounts to veterans, first responders, teachers, and medical personnel. I think would be very helpful for those in these lines of work as they tend to be very stressful. Otherwise, fantastic app. Would love to see how this app progresses in the future.

not what it used to be.

I love this app, very similar to a self hypnosis recording I had in the 80’s. My adult son has a lot of anxiety. The bad kind that is debilitating. He was about to start a new job and of course, got hisself all worked up and already has a history of insomnia. I told him daily about my Headspace App. I told him, I would pay for him to get it for a year. He kinda was interested but basically blew me off. The next day, his first day at Disney, he heard the the company would give the app to all the cast members! I was so happy. I don’t think he pursued how to go about any of it and I don’t think he still has used it. I wish he would because he is already stressing about various things in life and work. He just has a really bad clinical case of anxiety. I’m going to keep encouraging him but I live in a different state. As far as myself goes. I never have trouble falling asleep anymore. Mow I need to start meditating so hopefully that may help me stay asleep among many other things.

Life changing!!. Where do I start? This has changed my life in the best way I can ever imagine! I deal with a lot and i mean a lot (depression, anxiety, stress, etc & the year 2020). I was in such an uncomfortable place with myself like i wasnt happy with myself, and i was my worst enemy and then I found Headspace on Netflix and I thought why not. I was never good with mediation I’ve tried it before and I thought it was a waste of my time, but wow was i wrong with this. It’s so much different and then i found the app and everyday i mediate! I’ve been working on my anger, my depression, focusing on me. Being kind to me and I’m telling you this has helped me so much. Each recording is about 10 - 15 minutes and Andy walks you through the mediation, helps you to focus on what you need to take care of yourself. If you’re having trouble with yourself or feeling like things dont go your way, please try this. Honestly I haven’t had a day where I’m feeling uncomfortable with myself or feeling depressed. It’s worth it

Great app, but only one voice (sort of). This app has a lot of different courses ranging from basic 1, 2, and 3 to a “reframing loneliness” course etc.. The range of content is great, but my issue is that apart from the basics 1, 2, and 3 courses, as well as some walking meditations (voiced by a woman) everything I’ve heard so far is all done by the same guy. He has a job to do, to make sure he is a serene and calm presence, talking into your ear. But how he says things comes across as not being genuine at times. It’s totally random, and thankfully doesn’t happen too often, but sometimes I’ll have to skip one of the sessions because I just can’t relate to the way he’s saying things. It’ll come across like he is trying too hard to sound calm in his ‘sexy meditation voice’. He seems like a genuine dude, I think that just the sheer amount of courses they made sort of forced him to create habits in the way he says things, I speculate that it’s dependent on how many he had to record at any given time, but who knows. Overall this app has helped me greatly, but what I mentioned above still bothers me.

Great content, app is becoming a mess. As a long time subscriber, I’ve stayed with Headspace because the content and courses are great. I like the teachers and there’s a lot of variation with the courses and different focuses (like sleep vs active meditation!). The app itself has gone from great to a mess. The layout and organization has changed many times and unfortunately I find each revision to be worse than the previous. It’s harder than ever to find simple guided meditations. Everything is hidden behind guides, articles, and videos now. Even picking up the next phase of a meditation course you’ve already started is not easy to find. The today tab is filled with things you didn’t add, the explore tab is a confusing collection of topics that takes several taps to get to any real content, and the biggest call to action on your account tab is to invite others. Like how is anyone supposed to find regular meditations without getting lost or dealing with decision overload? I really want to keep this app but each year they make it harder to use. And now there’s workouts thrown into the mix? Is Headspace not for me anymore?

Great Content But the App Needs to be Fixed. Update: The app now works in landscape view! I’m very pleased. I still use Headspace every day. Previous: This app has great content, but it doesn’t work in landscape view on an iPad. I got around this by turning my iPad on its side using the keyboard as a stand. With a more recent update, though, when I do this, the app is completely upside down—it doesn’t turn with the iPad like most apps do. This is frustrating as I prefer using it with my iPad for a larger viewing screen. It’s essentially asking people to turn their laptop on end to use a particular app. For most apps, not having landscape view is an automatic delete for me. I really love Headspace, but it’s useless if it’s upside down. It works best for viewing for my keyboard to be on the right, screen on the left. I hope they fix this feature. Just let it work in landscape view, please, so I don’t have to turn my keyboard on end. Or at least let it be upright in portrait view, no matter which end is up.

Please stop moving things around and/ organize it better!. Updated October 2023: Seriously! Please stop moving stuff around and just adding more and more fluff. My kid and I got in a nice nightly habit of doing the daily meditation. It has just… disappeared with the last update. But, sweet, I can wade through thousands of other offerings to try to find something short and applicable. It would also be nice to be able to filter by ‘voice’ since I really prefer Andy’s. Have used the app for years and have been happy to pay for it. But it is starting to get bloated and perhaps a victim of its own success. There is so much extraneous content that it’s hard to actually find what you know has been great for you in the past. I feel like the extra “celebrity” content is pretty cheesy and takes away from the app but I could handle it if things were better organized. Then I wouldn’t have to wade through all the fluff. So, still like the app and find Andy’s voice sedating (in a good way) but I truthfully liked it a lot better a few years ago.

An amazing app behind a pay wall. This app....is just amazing. It has everything that allows for a relaxing experience for those who have dealt with stress, of any kind, throughout their livelihoods. But at a cost, as effective as this app is, I would love to continue using it without having to worry about the subscription fee. Do not misunderstand me, I am not saying they do not deserve the funds to continue their efforts of reducing stress. Especially with how fluid and colorful the tutorial’s animations are and how silky smooth Andy’s voice is during the session. But I wholeheartedly believe that this app can reach its full potential if it was provided without a charging fee. A lot of teenagers, including myself, have a hard time dealing with their stress by themselves. They usually have to rely on depression medication and therapy sessions which even then, is not as effective due to the costs of these options. This app can possibly outmatch both options at once, if it was not facing the same issue. As it is, the app is fantastic in its performance of reducing stress and I highly recommend it to those who are interested.

Wish I could do just one thing. I love Headspace. The wide variety of meditation topics, series, and courses with multiple speakers so you can listen to someone who fits what your brain needs to hear for ultimate meditation are incredibly helpful. The content is regularly refreshed and updated with timely topics. I’ve been a loyal subscriber for a few years now, but the one thing I wish I could do is make a playlist of sleepcasts/meditations for my evening wind down and eventual sleep. I have insomnia, and having to go back to my phone each time I finish a sleepcast to go to the next one in my line of preferences doesn’t help. I want to be able to sequence my own meditations and sleepcasts so I can set it and forget it. I have other apps that do this, but I really want to be able to on Headspace! The stories are soothing, and there are no ads like on similar night time story podcasts. It’s just me and Simon together :) I hope the app developers see this and will consider adding it as a feature in the future!!

Great app however.... The gamification of this app is counterintuitive. For example I had a streak of over 100 days. I was so proud of that and it kept me motivated to continue. However my streak got wiped and I’m not even sure why. My boyfriend joked that this app that’s supposed to help me relax and reframe thoughts has me upset because I missed a day. If I look at my journey I see that each session date is sequential and doesn’t miss a date. This is the second time this has happened to me. I don’t know why my streak gets erased, and sometimes I feel like it adds a day randomly. I don’t think this would bother me so much if I wasn’t paying for this. And I know that this feature of the app is the least important aspect or function of the app. But for a product that’s supposed to help you practice mindfulness and acceptance this doesn’t help the users. Now that my streak has reset for the second time I felt the need to review. I hope you can fix this bug. Or at least let users know how the streak is measured, because you can meditate each calendar day but that doesn’t mean it counts for your streak.

Headspace his head over heels the best meditation app I’ve used. Upshot: IMO, headspace shines with (typically) well grounded and philosophically informed perspective that goes far for empowering those who take that perspective to heart, mind and ongoing self-reflection. Rarely, do I take the time to review an app. I have too many more important things. However, headspace has been so fundamentally profound as not only a meditation tool, but also a source of surprisingly deep and nuanced philosophical perspective across a number of topics. And that’s really what sets it apart- not only do you get access to good guided meditations, but those meditations (many series’ are excellent companions towards better manifesting things such as compassion, appreciation, patience, etc) tend to come with some particularly enriching sentiment. Where typical guided meditations that offer perspective along with the meditation, that perspective upon deeper consideration tends to be shallow, ultimately taking shortcuts to arrive at some commentary which *sounds profound* yet really lacks true depth at meaningful application within one’s life.

Truly Life changing!!!!!. I have borderline personality disorder, insomnia, depression, and adhd. I have tried everything! This is the first thing that has worked. I read an article about meditation reconnecting lost neural pathways and producing mood stabilizing neurotransmitters. I have a short attention span with uninteresting things and they do a really good job at teaching focus, relaxation, and connecting the body and mind. I feel empowered. I feel different. I feel happy and content. It has helped bring some regulation and anchorage into my dysregulated lifestyle. It is basically teaching you how to calm down and how to become in touch with yourself. If you feel out of control, you’re out of touch with yourself. It has also helped significantly with my insomnia. It taught me how to sleep better. If you have a mental health disorder please try this. Especially if u don’t want to pay for expensive therapy and are looking to self treat. Worth every $. I would pay double for this app.

THIS!. A meditation for all our human ailments. I have spent much of my life trying to improve character flaws that hold me back from where I want to be. I have long recovered from active alcoholism, yet continued to struggle with impatience, bursts of anger, and other very much unwanted flaws, simply lost on how to heal. 30 days into meditation with HeadSpace, and I feel like a new person... light, and with hope. Already, things that used to frustrate me are falling off, just noticing them, often laughing quietly at how free I feel or at how good it felt to not be reactive in a given situation. I traded counseling for yoga years ago and yoga has provided a great relief, both physically and spiritually. THIS! The guided meditations through HeadSpace... is the next, and perhaps the final, solution to the feeling of hopelessness and a life of daunting flaws. I am joyous to find that with simple and pleasant discipline, physically at rest, no “work” to do, I am learning how to let the weight of the world (of thought) go, making room for what is becoming such a natural place of peace and joy.

Good and bad in some ways. This is one of the most amazing apps i’ve ever tried for sleep, meditation and all of the things it offers. It quite an amazing app and has helped me calm down when I’m feeling angry, sad, or even when I’m TOO excited. This app has helped me with my anger issues that can happen often and that’s great but there are many problems at least for me in this app. One thing is that most of the things on this app are premium version, meaning that for those who don’t have much money, or for those who don’t want to spend their money there isn’t much variety to choose from. Another thing that happens is that at least for me it glitches and says it’s a free soundtrack or anything like that, But then it says “Sorry this isn’t working right now” And when I go to my recents it says its premium. I think this is a problem because it’s practically wasting our time trying to get the sound/music to play. That glitch may not be for everyone but it definitely bothers me. Headspace owner of your reading this, PLEASE fix these bugs!

Help but I see a problem. This app helped me in my day to day and I managed to alleviate the great anxiety I had as well as the depression I was going to have. But the problem that I see is the fact that I have to pay to have another type of course. Many teenagers [including myself] can not afford the app and we even tell our parents that the application helps us but they refuse to pay for something that would have to be free if it is for personal help. I'm not saying that creators do not deserve money, but courses that help with anxiety and depression or students should not cost anything. But the sessions that are at work or walking I agree that they charge, but those that mostly older people and teenagers choose, should be free. And another problem that I see is the language, since I have some friends and most of them do not know much English but they have the application to relax but not achieve it because they do not know English. So it would help a lot if they managed to incorporate the language change for the comfort of the user.

TOO MUCH TALKING. A really robust app with loads of great content in the way of the daily videos and the mini sermons before a meditation. I like that this app helps me to maintain my practice. I can visually see my consistency when using the app as opposed to meditating independently which makes it easier and more fun. However a HUGE drawback is that this app is really terrible for mindfulness. There is entirely WAYYYY too much “guidance” and talking during the meditations. There should be a setting to turn off or reduce the amount of interruptions in the meditation session. All I want is to get a chime when I reached my target meditation time. My work around is that I listen to the sermon at the start of the daily meditation, then I turn the volume all the way down so I can’t hear the guide, then I turn on my phone’s timer, and meditate silently. This way the app still captures the length of my meditation session but I don’t get constantly pulled out of my meditation. But sometimes I forget to do this and I’m always irritated. I reach moments of peace and being totally present then the voice interrupts and pulls me out of my peace. Counter-productive.

The app I never thought I needed. I've tried meditating on and off for a few years but could never stick with the practice. After I started using Headspace, I was hooked after day one. While it does seem like a hefty price tag, what it teaches me during a meditation session as well as how to incorporate the practice into every day life is priceless. Headspace takes a different approach than most other meditation/mindfulness apps by not only teaching you the techniques, but also teaching you how to apply mindfulness with everything that you do. The app has taught me how to recognize when I get lost in my thoughts and react appropriately. I even think of being mindful ahead of time when I know there is an event in my life that would have consumed my thoughts in the past. I would definitely recommend Headspace to everyone, even if you don't think you need it because it can reveal things about yourself and your mind that can help to improve your life in ways you didn't realize.

Hands-down the best guided meditation app. I have attention-deficit disorder as well as generalized anxiety that affect my ability to “get out of my head”. Headspace has been a savior to me. It has helped me determine that there is a time and place for every feeling instead, where as before I would hate myself for having feelings that I did not want, which in turn made it very difficult to understand and accept how I was truly feeling. It has been a built-up habit over my 22 years of life, but this app has helped me to live a less-cluttered life. With that being said, along with this app, fitness has been a very important role in my life, especially running and yoga. When I stretch, I become more mindful. I am a subscriber, and I love that you have running and cycling as exercising meditations, but could you consider adding in a guided meditation for stretching as well? Thank you for all that you have done to change mine as well as millions of other peoples lives. You completely deserve your rating. 😊

The best for a grieving mom.. I am grieving the loss of my adult son. The series on grieving has helped the devastation I am experiencing. The mans voice is so kind and full of compassion. I have tried every one of these types of apps. For me this is the best one. There is a lot of content here. Thank you so much to the app makers and the man who does the the grief meditations. So it has been a year an half since I wrote that and I can say this is hands down the best of this sort of app. Thank the universe I found it. I have used many of the meditations and the sleep content. They just keep making the app better and better. Andy I have learned is the male voice on most of the meditations. His compassion comes thru his voice. There is so much wisdom and love here. I’m gushing a bit but I am just so grateful for this app. I believe there is something for anyone and everyone. Is is well worth the price. They are so good at adding new content and covering all most any situation you might find your self in. Thank you Andy you help me get thru each day and sleep at night.

This app is a miracle. I suffer from ptsd, insomnia, anxiety, and I get really bad night mares. I downloaded this app because I was desperate for a solution to getting a good night’s rest without sleeping pills and I got so much more than that. It only took a couple of days before seeing results. I haven’t had a nightmare in months since I downloaded. I sleep like a baby and it only takes a few minutes for me to fall asleep. My stress has gone down tremendously. The male voice that speaks is so calming. It just feels so hypnotizing. I’ve gone into deeper meditation than I ever thought I could and I see things. I get images of places and things I’ve never saw before and I sometimes see numbers flying around and there’s always ones that stick out. I do wonder if that has any meaning but it’s fun to explore and see things that give me a Christmas morning kind of feeling. I’m just so glad I had an open mind to download and I wasn’t disappointed. Thanks

This app is amazing.. This app is the best app I have used, and I love everything about it. I love how the instructors give slow directions. This is a very calming app for first time use. I have not found a single other app that makes me feel comfortable with myself. It’s so calming and it helps me focus on my mindfulness. I think this is a great app for some people with insecurities, headspace makes me feel like I can be who I want to be and not have any stress on my shoulders. This isn’t a bot review, I live for this app and if you use this often you most definitely will be able to change your mindset completely. I started putting my feelings out on my journey and this has been an awesome experience with this app. I think this has helped me tap into my good side and improved me a lot. Yes, today is my first day but I still feel the same about it. This is a really nice meditation app if your looking for something to help calm yourself. I 10/10 recommend it!😌😮‍💨

$125 later….terrible business ethics. I have read from others that this app is complicated and has changed over the last couple of years. It is very difficult to navigate. I made an appointment for an intake video session but then could not find, or even got an email, confirming this appointment. The app timeline said I still needed to make an appointment even though I already had. Due to the complicated app I cancelled my subscription to it and left comments that reflect exactly what I say above. This cancellation was two days before this appointment would take place so I assumed, if there still was some sort of appointment it would also be cancelled. I looked over the app before I deleted from my phone and still, no verification of an appointment that was easily found. Today I was charged $125 for the “missed appointment”. That is an INSANE AMOUNT OF MONEY to charge in the first place and a terrible way to practice a mental health app!!! This app obviously wants to make money rather than try to figure out a way to make the app easier to navigate for people. If I am going to be charged $125 for a missed appointment I BETTER see the appointment on my front page as soon as I open the app and I sure as heck should receive a confirmation email!!!

Some pretty bad customer service. The idea and simplicity of headspace is good. I had their annual subscription. Had. However, their customer service to two recent inquiries were so bad, I had to put myself in a state of being mindful just to keep the cool. Don’t get angry. The not-so-pleasant experience from customer service turns to this: “C’mon, simply note it and back to breathing.” And just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water, the thought of their poor customer service once again enters my mind. “Note it. Brush it aside. Focus on the breath.” Cool. All done. So, because of remaining cool, here’s the good to this: I was able to later take the time, research several other meditation or mindfulness apps, and find three very good ones. Of those, I’ve purchased one that I absolutely love. It was like “where were you all my life?” And if the app could speak, it was as if it said, “I was always here. You just had to sift through the weeds to experience what really matters.”

Used to be better. I always liked the content that Headspace offers: the meditations are well structured, well paced, and the teachers are great. None of that changed. What did change at some point was the apps interface, and the current iteration makes it SO MUCH harder to actually find that content. Look. I don't need a curated menu of things you think I should do today - maybe for some people it's helpful, but not for me. And I don't need a bunch of arbitrary sounding categories to browse, because they are not intuitive to me, and never seem to map very well onto my actual needs. What I want is the simplest, most straightforward way to present a collection of things, that is somehow now missing from the app's navigation options: a list. I just want to look at ALL of the courses, in a single list, with no other grouping and no attempts to guess what I am looking for. The absence of such a basic option is, to be honest, incredibly irritating, which is not really a feeling you want to be getting from an app that is supposed to help you achieve piece of mind.

Life changing. I’ve worked with the headspace app for over a year and it has been absolutely life changing. I’ve wanted to learn more about meditation for a long time but haven’t been able to connect with an appropriate teacher. The lessons and stories that have been created in this app (and that continue to be added) are simply wonderful. Easy to follow, supportive, compassionate, mind expanding, and even funny! I work with the parents and kids section every night with my grade schoolers, practicing breathing exercises and listening to stories while we gently (and quickly!) fall asleep. The two areas of my life that have improved significantly since beginning work with this app have been stress reduction (I’ve learned to manage myself throughout the day) and improved sleep quality (it’s just so much easier for us all to fall asleep now). Thank you THANK YOU for creating this incredible plethora of calm and wisdom. It’s a joy and immense privilege to pay for this and work with these guided meditations every day. 💚

Best Investment Ever for Sleep and Anxiety. I’m so glad I bought the year-long subscription to the Headspace app. It’s been a game changer for me and my sleep troubles that I’ve had for over ten years now. If I start listening to the sleep portion of the app about an hour before bed, then it usually means I’ll have much better sleep that night. I fall asleep fairly easily in the evening, but my anxiety sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night. On the evenings where I use Headspace to calm my mind down with the radio app of relaxing sounds and/or the night time meditation, I usually am less likely to have anxiety in the middle of the night and am more likely to sleep through the night. Sometimes I’ll use the app in the middle of the night to calm down my mind. This is a very professionally produced app that you can tell is well researched. Before I downloaded this app, I was desperate and was willing to try anything. So glad I did. That and also a weighted blanket. Oh so relaxing.

Different and Transformative. I love headspace. I started with the three minute meditations. From the first meditation, my life improved. That is not an exaggeration. I have progressed through all of the three-minute and five of the ten-minute meditation sessions at this point. The ten-minute sessions take the cornerstone that you will build in the three-minute sessions and build on it using the same, very low-key but powerful narrator/guide and discrete, simple steps that will anchor you physically and emotionally to your present space. I am at this time in life going through extraordinarily difficult circumstances, and head space has made as much if not more of a difference positively for me than any medication or other meditative technique I have tried. For those not in any particularly difficult situation, headspace has the ability to enhance daily existence. I begin my day with Headspace and I make an additional 10 minutes in the middle of my workday for headspace. I hope that you try this app and add that it does as much for you as it has for me.

Should be recommended by the VA. I was very vague on the definition of meditation before I downloaded this app. As a Marine, I wish I had discovered it sooner, quite frankly. It fundamentally breaks down and Guedes the user in the basic techniques of meditation, much as an instructor would go over the basics of a martial arts maneuver. Through the basics set, I was able to recognize a major benefit of meditation. Then I started getting into the targeted meditation courses, and let me tell you something: I honestly believe that this program should become an integral part of the VA’s Mental Health program. Combat Veterans, those dealing with PTSD, those dealing with an array of problems from substance abuse to codependency, could benefit MASSIVELY from integrating this app into the treatment regimen. It has already made an enormous impact on my life, and as I become more skillful with it, I notice a directly proportionate advance in many areas of my life, including focus, productivity, and general mental health. ABSOLUTELY recommend. Well done, Headspace team, and THANK YOU. -Semper Fidelis Pete Gamel

Changed my life.. I used to not be able to fall asleep. My dad had been using Headspace to help him sleep. One night I couldn’t fall asleep at all. So on a new google in my bedroom he turned on a sleepcast. I immediately fell asleep. This was in November 2021 btw. So my dad saw how much it helped me and bought the subscription because he said it was worth it. So ever since then we got it on my phone and I listen to sleepcasts every night. It IS worth buying the subscription. Dear producers, Thank you so much for Headspace and sleepcasts! You changed my life! 🥹 I am so thankful for you! Love, Unicorncandy444 PS. There is one slight bug which is that it won’t let me add friends. It won’t let my dad either. (Update: Thank you! You fixed the bug!) (Update 2: There is a new bug where my sleepcast plays for a minute and then turns off and kicks out the app by itself. I have tried kicking out the app myself, powering off my phone and turning off my wifi. It isn’t working no matter what! Please fix this! This is the only way I can sleep nicely. 😔)

Good but needs some UI enhancements. This app is wonderful for people looking to explore the world of meditation, and understand how to incorporate it into every day life. The sessions are short but incredibly effective. I wish, however, that there were ways to bookmark/favorite certain sessions and even add some to a “listen later” list. I often find myself scouring to find one I saw a few days earlier but by the time I see it again, it’s not as relevant. Also, it’s be awesome if there was a way to see your progress with the app — perhaps a chart or analytics page that shows your which type of meditation you lean towards, how many days you’ve listened, or something to help visualize your meditation journey. Lastly, it’s time for them to update the sleep meditations. I’ve been using this app consistently at night for a few months, maybe even a year now, and it gets a little old. Wish there was some more variation. This app is fantastic though, and I will continue gladly paying for my subscription. I believe in what they are doing and trust that it has been helping me a ton

Accountability. I've had some phases when I've meditated regularly, but having this app gives me a sense of external accountability that has kept me on the wagon longer than ever before. The daily push notifications with words of mindfulness are definitely helpful as a reminder to make time, but I'm really speaking more to the aspect of having a consistent structure and theme(s) to my mindful time. I've also never done guided meditation per se before, and it's wonderful to have such a broad, deep, and wise resource that I can tap into to keep me on track until I'm ready to move on to a new area of focus, of which HeadSpace has plenty to choose from. I use the app after work as a way to transition to my home life, and I often hit the ground running when I emerge from meditation with enthusiasm and focus for the rest of my day. I recommend the app for anyone at beginner or intermediate experience with mindfulness. Can't speak to more advanced meditators, as I still have a long way to go myself, but HeadSpace definitely makes me feel like I'm on the right track.

Loved at first. I loved it the first day I tried it in February 2020 and purchased a year long subscription. I use it several times a day and my four year old and I fall asleep to the sleep casts every night. I cope with severe anxiety on a daily basis and during the pandemic this has been extremely challenging. Three nights ago I really needed my favorite windown and sleepcast and they are all locked and it’s asking me to start a free trial if I want to use them. I have followed all the advice on the help section to try to restore my purchase but even under my subscriptions it shows I am a subscriber and it doesn’t expire until feb 2021. I’ve emailed headspace and have heard nothing back and also tried the chat and it just feeds me the same unhelpful help and then prompts me to email them again. If I get this resolved I’ll update and add more stars but I’m extremely disappointed right now and not happy with the lack of customer service. Maybe I will switch to Calm

Changed My Relationship With Anxiety. Have been using this app for years, since 2017. It has completely changed the way I manage my anxiety. Not only do they have a course for anxiety, but there are also SOS meditations that are super helpful when you’re in the middle of panic mode. Since I first got the app they have added so many new meditations, courses, and even instructors. It has grown with me as my meditation practice has grown and it is always a great day when I use the Headspace app. As far as the price it is definitely on the expensive side. I first started using the app when I was in college and was lucky to be in a financial situation where I could afford it. I know they are offering it for free to those who have been affected by the coronavirus. However, my one critique is that they should make a student version, so more people will have access to this life-changing app. Thank you Headspace for this amazing product! I will continue to be a customer for many more years, I am sure.

Transformation. Big word here above but it applies. I was a classic overstressed executive, choosing too much work and decompressing with alcohol every night. It was unsustainable, until I got cancer. So I took some research and a plane flight to a clinic in China. While here at the clinic for six weeks, I listened to headspace every day, sometimes in the morning when I wake up and sometimes before sleep at night. Cancer treatments did their job but the headspace was a key contributor to my healing. One of the modules on Headspace was centered on healing, or rehab, and this was focused visualization that fueled your mind to assist the body in healing. I loved it. I moved on to the nodule on sleep, a three-part series, and that has had an impact on a key area of need. My MRI is tomorrow, it will tell us if the tumors are gone. Naturally that is the result I and my family want, but the experience has been wonderful regardless. Headspace was a big part of that over the last six weeks. Thank you for developing such a wonderful program, it’s become part of my lifestyle,

A REALLY good app - thank you for creating it!. This app has changed my life. After going through some really weird and confusing mid-life events starting about 7 months ago I developed insomnia and anxiety. Never having experienced either before I was very ill equipped to cope with what to me were entirely new feelings and worries. I stumbled on Headspace, and have meditated every day for the last six months. Although it takes some time, if you stick with it, these methods really work. I’m sleeping again, I’m less worried, and I think I understand my own mind and perhaps the minds of others a little bit better. I’ve subsequently read a fair bit about meditation, and my impression is that the methods in Headspace are very much the real deal. They are also presented in a completely secular manner, which I appreciate. The ‘pro’ packs get a little mystical, but, at least for me, in a thought provoking and fun sort of way. I honestly believe this app has contributed to better world.

Great features; trouble with record-keeping. The meditations are great, and I’ve been finding the focus music feature really great for listening while working; it’s at least as good as the ambient music I typically listen to. My only complaint at the moment is that listening to the focus music counts toward minutes meditated, and then to Apple Health mindfulness minutes if you have that option on on. So if I listen to 3 hours of focus music while working, plus one morning meditation, it seems like I’ve meditated for 185 minutes, when I’ve really only done 3. And it seems to count the music toward my streak, too, which doesn’t really help me keep track of my progress in building a habit of mindfulness. Listening to focus-helping music while working—something I’ve always done—is totally different than actually meditating. It’s not a dealbreaker, of course—I can manually keep track—but it would be nice if the app let you distinguish between what’s real time spent with mindful practice, and what’s just listening to music while working.

I love Headspace !!!. I have been using the Headspace app for about 5 years now. From the very beginning I felt I was embarking on a magical journey - a journey that would teach me the tools I needed to lift myself out of feelings of constant fear and inadequacy. Tools that would help me open my heart and mind to new possibilities and a more peaceful and compassionate approach to myself and the world. With the gentle and insightful guidance of Andy and the other practitioners, I feel safe and supported in my efforts to face and walk through difficult times. I am able to embrace joy and be present for myself, others and my life as it is today. It is always going to be a daily practice, as it should be, for that is the essence of being in the moment. I am also thrilled at how Headspace has evolved to include so many different guided topics for meditation as well as adding exercise to the program! What better way to integrate mind and body. Thank you all for what you have done to create Headspace and allow it to thrive! In gratitude, Pamela Llewellyn

Ok but could be better. personally, i love this app. the meditations are really helpful for my crippling anxiety, and i thoroughly enjoy watching the daily videos and doing the mindfulness moments. i also really like the new updated version with the dark mode and everything. however, i’m not as happy with headspace as i thought i would be when i got the app. i’m still a kid, and i’m not going to spend money to get headspace+, so i’ve had the normal version, however i’m very disappointed about the lack of content i have unlocked. i can only do a few meditations and they’re limited. this is very upsetting to me, and i’ve heard that others have felt the same way. i’m considering deleting headspace for exactly this reason: there’s not enough free content. soon enough i will run out of meditation sessions. i am not satisfied with this app. PLEASE unlock more content for those who don’t want or CANT spend money on headspace+!!!! you might lose this costumer to your app for just that reason. i need more content because my anxiety lately has been through the roof, so i would be excited to try out some new meditations but i CANT. please fix this!!!!!

Centered. This app has helped me tremendously in just a few days of usage. I am in my mid 40s married with a child and owner of a small family business. The stress of trying to keep up, being a addict (past) and trying to just live today is really hard to grasp. I do go to church weekly, pray daily, believe in my spirituality. Yet with all this going on I felt I was missing something. A void. Im beyond grateful for every breathe every day but there was a void that I couldn’t grasp. Headspace is helping me find that balance to help me become aware of who I am, my purpose and the direction I need to go. Yes it can be costly but there is a great deal going on now. Listen, if you feel empty at times, lost or very alone, this app can help. We all grow and change over time but one thing remands. Our breathing. That is constant throughout. This will help you center your breathing and give you meaning to who you truly are. Def recommend and could be life changing. Awareness is key and this app will help you achieve that

Life saver!. It had been very difficult to overcome all my emotions when so much was happening in my life and I had a lot to worry about but a lot to be happy and angry about, things were getting confusing and I was getting angry very easily to the point where I couldn’t sleep so I thought maybe I should try meditating and I searched everywhere for a good app to help guide me through fixing the stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, being un-calm and more and this definitely is doing the job! I meditate for 5 minutes every morning when I wake up(you can do 3,5,&10 mins, you chose the how long and when). Since I’ve been using this I already feel 10x better and I can finally sleep. It helps be even during the day after I’ve already meditated. It sticks with you all day and it just feels really good, like a weight lifted off of your shoulders. I would definitely recommend this to everyone suffering from multiple things. It even has extra things you can use, for example, it has mediating to people who are coping with cancer! It’s just amazing!

Was hoping for more. Not every technique works equally well for everyone, and I feel like they put an over emphasis on the body scan (which is admittedly one I’m not particularly fond of). They have courses like “dealing with anxiety” or “managing anger”, but they’re all essentially the same: “here’s some basic advice you’ll get from every therapist for 30 seconds, now let’s do 20 minutes of body scan.” I don’t feel like they really apply the meditation to the issues often enough, but the advice is decent. Also, in the beginners courses they mention a lot of abstract concepts that are supposed to help you but they don’t explain them very well or reinforce them very often. So half the time I find myself thinking “Wait, what does he mean by that again and how was I supposed go about it?” There are enough great meditation pointers though that it’s been super helpful to get over some hurdles I was struggling with and the voices are very relaxing. Unfortunately the content is a bit sparse given how much stuff they have posted and it can be difficult finding the gems when there’s so much filler to wade through.
