Watch integration issues. The app is pretty good on the course with GPS distances and other tips. On the Apple Watch I didn’t like that almost every time I wanted a distance I had to click the crown button and find and select the app. Other watch apps keep the GPS distances on screen automatically. The. Halfway through the round it seemed to disconnect from the phone and I saw no way to resume them. I gave up and used a different app. I’m glad the first round of “enhanced” GPS was free.

Awful performance. Downloaded and paid for the upgraded version yesterday. Used it right away for 18 holes. It was a terrible experience. This app crashes constantly or times out. Coordination with the Apple Watch is almost nonexistent. It’s back-and-forth telling you it’s using your watch but it’s not using your watch and only use GPS from the phone not the watch. There are many free apps out there that are much better if you want distance, scoring, etc. I am hopeful I can get my money back soon

Apple Watch App Doesn’t Work. I was excited to see that they finally made the app available on the Apple Watch, but like others that have posted it works poorly or if at all. It worked one time for me and it kept closing between shots and I had to reopen the app on the watch every time. This is poorly designed - it should remain open and active on the watch until the user closes it. Since the one time it “worked” I have not been able to get the app to actually launch on my watch. There is plenty of available storage, so that is not the issue. I have totally abandoned trying to get it to work. The app is useless until the developers fix these issues.

Only legitimate way to keep your handicap. You can follow your friends and keep track of their scores and current index, but I wish you could like and comment on peoples posted scores! Being able to interact with your friends you follow would be a great addition to the app

Great app, just one suggestion. Everything is great about this app except for one thing. The app is compatible with my Apple Watch, but it would be nice to be able to get yardage on my watch as well as my phone because it slows me down to have to look at my phone to get yardages.

IWatch App locks up. Tried the watch app during 3-4 rounds. Locked up every time. Had to restart on phone to get the watch app to start working after lockup. Send email to USGA support. Response: We have not received reports of the Watch app freezing as long as there is an active cellular service or wifi connection established. The GPS uses the geolocation of your phone so as long as you have a connection and your Cellular Data/Location Services options are turned on, the GPS should function as expected. If there is a loss in service, there will be a delay in the yardage updates.

Quirky. I like the app as it is very functional and provides the info necessary. I use in conjunction with my Apple Watch, don’t like carrying my phone all over the course bound to lose it. Like that you can score and then end of round post immediately. One quirky thing is in the Apple Watch function. During many many rounds, in the middle of the round the Apple Watch portion becomes disconnected from the phone some how and stars giving wacky yardages. Have to grab phone to get correct yardages. Once this happens you cannot get the watch to read the same as the phone. Very problematic.

I like it and hate it.. First off I’ve only ever used to other one other app similar to this so my experience isn’t great. Needless no to say the app isn’t in my opinion super great. It constantly closes itself. Kicks me out of my account, at times doesn’t save my score. On the other hand, I do enjoy reviewing my stats of each round and another features presented in the app.

Phone app fine, but watch crashes. I've used this app for about a year now. On my iPhone XS Max the app works fine, but the app on the watch (v 5) tends to start and immediately crash rendering it useless. I don't understand why the app needs to load my home course every time I play. Can't it just be updated periodically? And I also wish that I could set up a default for my tee setting and number of holes for my home course. Overall, the intereface is a little clunky. I'd like to be able to just have a "play" button for default settings and get rolling.

The $40/year add on. What a pain. Okay so my wife was deciding between a range finder, a watch or the enhanced GHIN app with the Apple Phone. Since she uses the GHIN basic app and has an Apple phone it seemed like a good get to get the $40 enhanced app. Well…that was a mistake. The watch GHIN app closes and has to constantly be reopened every hole. And to make matters worse. You need to walk with both the phone and watch together to get accurate distances. If your playing partner drive away to his ball with your phone in the cart…the watch on your wrist is worthless. We see no benefits with the $40 app.

Great features when it works. I paid for the premium version and love the features with this app especially the green contours feature and the Apple Watch integration. But….the app will not stay open and keeps closing on its own. You must reopen the app and start the whole process again. Very annoying and a time waster. I’ve used the app 4 times and each time it has shutdown at least once per round, this last round a few days ago it shutdown 3 times before the 9th hole, had to put it away, hence this review. I now regret paying for the premium version.

Better system. I have a soft cap on my handicap. I believe it is a result of one great round I played at my home course in August. That dropped my index way down. It’s a little disappointing that my index is being constricted because of that. You know it is possible to have one good day on the links in an entire year. Especially if you were a very good golfer at one point in your life. It’s still in there. I just can’t get it to come out nearly as often as I would like. Quite honestly, it’s embarrassing ring the index I am. But it’s what I am. I’m getting older. Can’t hit it as far or as straight. My body doesn’t always cooperate. Can’t practice as much as I would like because of my back. Wish the system could take everything into consideration.

RECOMMENDED UPDATE. Please update the GHIN App “My Courses” option of the Profile section to allow the user to designate one of the courses as default “HOME”. I recognize that it can be done when starting a round but that option does not standout and I (and many of my golf buddies) fail to select it. I also understand that if I joined through my home club it would be the default. However, it is a lot more convenient for me to renew my membership on-line.

LOTS of Issues With App. When the app works it’s very, very good. Awesome app for tracking your handicap and looking up others. The concept of the GPS app is very solid, would be amazing if it worked. Sadly, it does not in many ways called out by others in reviews. You tee off to play and the app is signed out, won’t sign back in, had to change my password while trying to play the other day. That was enjoyable, forget the Apple Watch interface, changes holes throughout your round. I paid for the upgrade options, in doing so I did have a basic expectation that the app would work. It does not, feel ripped off and not willing to go through what I am sure will be a massive hassle to get a refund. USGA should be ashamed of yourself, looks like from many reviews they think all is good. A real shame, could be a really good product.

Dreadful App. Being forced to move from NCGA app to GHIN. This app is really badly written. Logging in a totally random. Have to create a profile. Reset password. Then login fails again and again. No way to copy and paste your password from a password manager. No faceID login. Screens don’t align properly on the iPhone so you can see the right info. If, and that might you take some time, you get into the app, it has all your regional data but the presentation is weak. I couldn’t be less excited about this App. Will go back to logging my results on the local course computer, assuming they will still exist. Amateur hour. Why not copy the NCGA app and rebrand it. It works fine.

Mediocre at best. Doesn’t work if there’s no cell signal. Even when there is it sometimes refuses to load. Doesn’t provide an error message telling you what’s wrong. When it works it’s slow to acquire the GPS signal and gives wildly varying yardages until it stabilizes—takes too long and slows play. Doesn’t allow you to download the course at home. Has to download each time you start a round. Doesn’t show aerial photos but uses stylized course maps. Accuracy is okay when everything is working.

Do not buy if you use a watch!. I purchased this because I thought it would simplify posting my scores after a round. However, I like to only use my Apple Watch when playing. This app is a disaster for a watch user. First, the watch features are nowhere near where other apps are. You cannot input your score on the watch nor can you track shot distances. Second, the watch app is glitchy. It wanted to continue to play different holes and I had to continually manually tell it what hole we were on. Very frustrating. Third, the app crashed multiple times. This required me to go back to the phone and restart. It kept the score correctly when I restarted, but it was frustrating to continually have to pull out my phone to restart the app. In summary, when I’m golfing, I don’t want to be interacting with my phone. It’s distracting and unpleasant. The watch is a great solution that GHIN has barely attempted to make viable. I asked for a refund the day after I purchase and after deciding 9 holes in to return to Hole 19 for the remainder of the round but I’ve been denied. So do yourself a favor and don’t flush $50 down the toilette with this junk app if you want to use a watch while you golf.

Disappointing Handicap scoring. One good round over a year ago dropped my index by 5 strokes. Since then I’ve played my normal, struggling way which is never breaking 90 for the past 15 rounds. I’ve entered my scores under other apps and my index is correct. Using this app, my index has never changed. This app is not updated properly, your rounds scores vs your index will not be accurate, and only leads to people abandoning the app, and the handicap process altogether. Get it together start managing this app like it deserves.

Gps. I paid extra to get gps to work with my Apple Watch. It was not as good because of some loss of connection but over time it has been much better. I previously had used Golfshot and I like the connection to my handicap program. I now use my gps more than my rangefinder. There has been significant improvement over the past 5 months.

USGA doesn’t care about quality!. I have consistently had problems with the GHIN app shutting down during my rounds. Sometimes I can restart at the point it shutdown, but sometimes I have to restart from the beginning. I have written multiple times to the USGA providing screenshots showing the sequence of events and they just reply sorry we can’t replicate which I can understand, but other times I get an instant reply which indicates they haven’t even bothered to review what I have provided. They seem to be more interested in making enhancements than fixing problems. I have other friends having the same issues but don’t bother sharing but just complain. As a paid subscriber it bothers me they don’t care about customer support! If you want people to use it get it fixed!

Enhanced, NOT. The basic version is fine for keeping your handicap, looking up other players, and keeping a basic score. Do not get the enhanced version! So not worth the money. Full of bugs. Does not use GPS satellites, but instead mobile towers so yardage is often wrong. App continuously shuts off so you have to restart and all the effort that goes into keeping track of clubs and shots is wasted. Hate to say, but futzing around with the app actually makes the round slower and less helpful. There are many more apps that are free, or about the same amount of money that are much much better.

Apple Watch bug issues. I enjoy the concept of the app and not having to manually enter hole by hole scores after each round or carry a rangefinder. However there are bugs which hinder the functionality of the app. 1. After each hole or shot in need to reopen the app on the watch to enter scores or get a distance. Last year I used GolfLogix and this was not an issue. GolfLogix stayed open and active on my watch the entire round. 2. Yardage distance does not always update on the watch this issue appeared occur off and on. Often after reopening the app on my watch (see #1) the distance on my watch would read as if I’m standing on tee, but I’m only 100 yards away from green. I would go to the phone app which would confirm I’m 100 yards from the green. The value of the watch app is not having to mess with my phone during the round. 3. Not all scores entered on the watch transfer to to the phone app scorecard. After the round I review the scorecard before posting my score. 3-4 holes did not have recorded scores entered though the watch. I needed to manually enter the score for those holes on the phone scorecard in the app before posting the scorecard. The app has great potential but these issues need corrected for the app to remain viable.

Unable to enter scores. Using version 4.6.1. I played last weekend and was unable to enter hole-by-hole scores, with or without stats. I could view the GOS view of each hole, but couldn’t switch to the scorecard view. Posting a score after the round appears to work. Might this have something to do with the date of play being outside the active score posting season for my region?

This is why people hate golf. As though the game isn’t hard enough or expensive enough - USGA still finds a way to soak you for more. An annual membership is needed to compute the handicap they claim is what is needed to make the game fair for all. How about giving this away? I have a feeling sponsors could more than make up the difference. I’m going to stick with lying about my handicap…that is free.

Not worth the money. The basic app is great for inputing scores for handicap calculations and golfer lookup , etc. since this part is basically supported by the yearly fee for the GHIN , it’s worth that portion of it. However, the $39 for the annual upgrade is a waste. The functionality of the gps and scoring functions are crude when compared to less expensive and much more robust apps like Golfshot +, etc. Considering the amount of data that the USGA has on each golf course, one would think the app would reflect it. The bug when using the Apple Watch feature has been well documented by others in this forum but it’s is amazing that this hasn’t even been fixed in the well over a year since the gps portion of the app came out. I will not be renewing next month when it comes due.

Hopeful this would be the solution I was seeking. I have upgraded to use the enhanced features of the app and I am still encountering issues when using the watch. The most annoying issue is that the watch will periodically disconnect from the phone app during a round and it is difficult to get the phone and watch re-synced. I like the options available to track shots during a round, but I don’t like losing the shot data for half a round because the app needs to be restarted on its own terms. It’s a little too buggy for me. I wish the support was better as well. I won’t be renewing the subscription features unless they can get the app debugged before my subscription renewal.

Simple fix?. Enjoy the app, though only use for keeping score and then post-round posting. Agree with other comments that it’s a nuisance having to re-click “GHIN” to have it reappear on the face after lowering hand. Biggest gripe, though, is that the user should be able to change face element colors—such as to white background with dark lettering. That, or make the hole being played white lettering (or some other higher contrast color, such as bright yellow). Right now “Hole” appears as gray on a black background in a smaller font size. In bright daylight, this is VERY difficult to clearly see—particularly if one is older and needs “readers” (that I don’t wear while playing golf).

Phone app won’t stay open. When it works, this app is great for yardage and scoring. However, it’s very inconsistent. Some rounds it seems to work fine, other times I have to restart the app on my phone and watch, navigate to the hole I’m currently playing, re-enter scores and stats for holes I’ve already played….for the price, and from the USGA, I would expect more. I’m seriously considering not renewing when this expires….there are plenty of alternatives for a lower price…

App crashes consistently. I’ve used the app to track my scores and this year decided to upgrade to the premium for the GPS and heat maps. The GPS is great… when the app works. The app constantly crashes, 6-7 times per 18 hole round. I have to open the app, get a pop up that asks if I want to finish the round, then it takes me back to the last hole. It’s pretty frustrating that this happens so consistently and unless I see improvement over the course of the season I will not be renewing the premium level next year.

Mobile app is A+, but Watch app is buggy. I use this app over any other. They keep making improvements to the functionality and it’s free. I recently upgraded to the enhanced version with Apple Watch support. There are plenty of reviews on Reddit and Golf blogs to understand what the connectivity and GPS issues are with the Apple Watch do not upgrade for the Apple Watch features.

Can we get landscape version. Generally a good app. Two deficiencies I would love to see fixed. First, would love to see the mobile version to support landscape mode. Second, the handicap calculator does not save the selected tees for added golfers. Also, would love to have the handicap calculator be the same for the iPhone and the iPad. Right now you need to put the people on each device separately.

Constantly crashes. I really enjoyed this app early on and was even paying for the extra features then an update a few months back caused it to start crashing periodically mid-round. I can usually get back to where I was in the round and will still have my score but it takes a minute which is absolutely not what you want when your standing over your ball ready to get a distance. Until the bugs are fixed, I’ll be searching for something else. Really worked well for me when it actually worked.

Lots of bugs. I purchased the annual $39 upgrade and am disappointed. The connection with Apple watch (was the main selling point for me) drops every round. I need to restart the ghin round on the iPhone to reload it. The app on the watch drops frequently requiring me to reload. I’ve done all the ‘fixes’ including adjusting the phone and watch settings. So - my annual subscription is now useless - - I’ve gone back to my ‘Golf Buddy’ device which never fails and which has just had a $20 battery replacement (DIY). My golf partners are also happy that I’m no longer putzing with my phone/watch instead of playing the game.

Activity Tracker. This app is is really good for tracking shots and scores! The GPS is phenomenal, but there is one reason I have not rated this app 5 stars and that is it does not sync with Activity on the Apple Watch like other GPS apps do. I would really like to see that feature incorporated into the app to enhance the user experience. This feature would quickly make the GHIN app my exclusive shot tracking and GPS app!

Paid Membership Fee. Frequently locks up on my Apple Watch, further doesn’t show current score on your watch. On the phone app, very difficult to view your scorecard without losing the round. No share function with friends. This app needs a lot of work and was released premature. Cannot put in tournament scores. Forces you to post scores when tournament organizers for mens leagues enter your scores which causes duplication. Difficult to review past rounds. I would use golf logix or the V1 app as I find myself fighting this app instead of focusing on my game. Good luck all. I had positive expectations but left disappointed.

Frustrating. Distances and hole layouts seem good. GPS wouldn’t work one time and had to use another app. Watch pairing stinks, constantly have to relaunch on watch even after I made the setting changes noted in the FAQs. Also, the phone app has crashed each round I have used it (5 times), relaunch brought back to round in progress. This is with an iPhone 13 and Watch 7. I’ve asked for my money back but doubt that will happen. Will delete from my watch and just use on phone. Probably rely more on the Grint since I never had a problem w that on watch.

Need a comparison chart for stats. With all the stats, I enter, it would be nice to have the ghin app compare my average stats to other golfers of my same handicap for example, greens in regulation percentage, fairways hit percentage, putts per round number…Etc. that would give me a target to see what I need to work on a little bit better. That would be easy to do I would think with all the data that the gin app is collecting from all golfers.

GHIN Application. Without a doubt this is the best application for golf there is and I would recommend it to everyone who plays golf. It has so many great features that everyone should enjoy and it will make a better golfer for everyone. I use it for all my courses and I have been enjoying it every since I started using the application.

Last update not working. I have used this app for years and love it. Ever since the recent update, it takes 24 seconds for the app to load the home page using wi-fi. It used to take a few seconds. Please fix it.

Golfer Must Have. If you are a frequent player, and/or enjoy competing for money this is a must have app. Eliminates sandbaggers and evens the playing field. Creates fairness for a 16 handicapper vs a 4 to be competitive. Had one of those days couple months back, shot a 78, with a GHIN of 19. USGA “penalized” me 2 strokes to a 17 for having a superb score. While I captured all the $$$, my playing partners were insistent I post a 78. Fun to look back on previous scores, noting coulda/shoulda’s that took you out of the $$$ by (1) stroke. Simple to get your HDCP for that particular course when you have their rating. If you are new to golf, a great way to build your hdcp. RTinAZ

Worthless App. I got this app when it finally was available on Apple Watch and I paid for a one year subscription. I have tried using it several times but have never got it to work for more than one hole. It’s clunky, it will stop if you get notifications such as Ring or messaging and you have to restart. When you do it has no idea of which hole you’re, so it’s impossible to know far it is to the green. If I could get my money back I would. The other issue is that you have to download the course information every time you start a new round (or try to get back to the one the was messed up with notifications).

Mediocre at best. There is no feature to configure what stats should be tracked. Other apps offer a means to select which stats are important to you. Like bunkers (green side and fairway), penalties and others. Simply recording how you missed the fairway or the green doesn’t always tell the whole story. Also, if you start a round from a hole other than 1, it doesn’t let you proceed past 18. You have to arrow backwards to find hole 1. This is cumbersome on the golf course. GHIN should partner with other better apps so scores can be input from them. GolfLogix is my personal favorite. This way you could choose the app that serves you best. They, of course, could even require part of the app fee be shared with them for maintaining usga handicaps. Golflogix is not perfect, but much better than the ghin app. Unfortunately I’m stuck with the ghin app to maintain my handicap.

Transactional emails broken!!!. This app is completely unusable because your transactional email mechanism is broken. No matter what I try, I cannot get the authentication emails to get in and post my scores. You have my email correct because I have received all promotional and welcome emails just fine. The app’s suggestion for support to “check with your club” is kind of silly for things like this because they have no ability to fix mail delivery issues when the email appears correct. Therefore, this is my only means for reaching out for support.

Poorly designed, poorly supported, such a great start, but bad. Ok I love the app for the ease of scoring and the GPS function, when it works. So much to possibly like, but….. There is no way to use the score/scorecard function without using GPS…. But why wouldn’t you want that?? Because, the GPS is so poorly designed my fully charged phone usually doesn’t make it through 18 holes without running the battery down (iPhone 12 pro with battery effiecency of 88%) AND…. My local private club, a Pete dye course, has the wrong gps course attached, so the GPS is worthless. I have submitted two feedback forms to the app, with no response and no change. Nothing like being on the 4th hole (par 5) of a championship course and it saying you are 2357 yards away from the 5th hole of the non rated executive course. But, they have the scorecard correct. Just asleep at the wheel… Then, my son and I started to play 18 on Sunday evening but decided to stop at 9 holes instead. Well, when scoring for multiple people there is no way to end the round early and post only the 9 holes…. Again, do the developers or employees not use the app?? Every time you boot the app and try and play it tries to get you to pay $40 a year for more features, but the basics don’t even work. Don’t get me wrong, I really like some aspects, but I assumed with the USGA name in this that the basics would work and they would have some basic supports.

GPS Doesn't Work Properly. It loses track of the course constantly during rounds and I have to re-enter the course that I'm on, wait for it to "download" again, and then find the hole that I'm on every time I want to look at yardage or enter my score. So, it's just not good and very annoying to try to use the GPS. If that were fixed it would be a great app, but it simply doesn't work as a GPS app. Look elsewhere for that. It gets 2 stars for being able to enter scores to GHIN. But that's pretty generous still for such a simple task.

Good app but last update disables auto lock. After the last update, the app prevents the phone from auto locking. I understand why it would do this while using GPS but not while I just entered a score. I have to manually put the phone to sleep after entering my score otherwise the battery drains.

Golf Lookup feature. Search for a golfer on the aystem is horribly flawed. Many times registered players don’t show up. I hope they read this and fix it. Still doesn’t work all the time. Seems like once you create a favorite list of someone like Smith you can never add another person with the same last name ! It won’t search the data base. FIX IT !

Text size is too small. The GHIN app could benefit from auto selecting a club based upon your distance to the green or hazards. The text is also too small for golfers that need readers. Maybe change the size of the icons for club selection? Also I am having issues with the club selection tool not keeping the shot sequence in order. Could be user error.

Phone App Great - Watch, not so much. The app for the phone is amazing. I love that it keeps handicap, has enhanced GPS, has heat and putt maps, stat tracking, handicap calculator, etc…. One major flaw is that with the Apple Watch, the GPS still uses yardage from your phone. So, sorry for you if it’s cart path only. Sorry if your partner drops you and takes the cart. The watch app is also constantly closing on your wrist, so, reopening and having to allow it to calibrate again is annoying. GHIN needs to take a note from Hole19 and GolfShot and allow the watch app to utilize the watch GPS on GPS mode only, this way, your watch shows accurate yardage. I find that the biggest difference is the other apps allow Apple Watch with GPS to use the watches GPS and stay open for the full round (phone or not) by utilizing the health app. I use the phone for approaches and around the greens (mainly when we are driving to an approach shot and/or parking to walk to putt and wanting to see the green slopes), then I leave my phone in the cart and I use GolfShot for my watch GPS.

Okay app; needs improvements. A couple of things. I love daily GHIN updates, when playing a lot of rounds it’s great. Also love you’re bringing in some of the stuff from GolfLogix. It’s great. I want to use the app for distances - but practice rounds alone aren’t scoreable, and I don’t have the ability you use the app without scoring / marking it as an alone round. Additionally the app just won’t load sometimes. Many devices - all the same. The change was recent and it’s like it’s locking up and timing out during authentication.

Great but..... I can get my course handicap on my iPad with this app, but when I use the app on my phone, I can’t select the tees. This is annoying when you are out on the course, and you can’t figure out what your max is on a hole, now that we have the new rules. This app would be really useful if you could fix this.

Glitchy with iOS 16. Crashes continually on the latest iOS version

Program Does not remember me. On my IPAD I have re-enter my GHIN number each time ! Very frustrating.

GHIN mobile. App on my phone just stopped opening. There are many reviews stating same issues. Please fix.

Garbage!. Doesn't work. Can't login. Useless.

Fix this!. Useless App! You can’t choose Tees! Doesn’t t work on iPad or iPhone 8.

Finding other players.. I have difficulty finding fellow golfers on the app..

GPS watch. The main App for keeping your handicap works fine. The GPS app for Apple Watch is atrocious, the crown spins the hole you are on and the distances lock up on a hole as if it’s working on a different hole. Some times it just locks up. The phone front middle and back distance numbers need to stand out. They get lost in the color used on a hole and can’t be read. They need to address these glitches before it will be a usable App

Almost there. I have really liked the GPS features as well as the ability to track stats. But PLEASE add a stat to track penalty strokes!!!! Sand saves would also be useful info but second to penalty strokes. Not that I have many (😂🙏🏼) but the few I get would be nice to track.

Last update not working. I have used this app for years and love it. Ever since the recent update, it takes 24 seconds for the app to load the home page using wi-fi. It used to take a few seconds. Please fix it.

Good app but watch version needs improvement. Used the app for two years to maintain my GHIN handicap. Recently upgraded to premium version when it could be used with apple watch. The app functions ok on the phone but the distance on the watch is always delayed. Will have to test it for the year and see if it’s worth it.

Apple Watch. Need to make it Apple Watch compatible. Would have my rating of this app much higher. I bought an Apple Watch figuring it would be compatible since many of my friends can with there index app. Sadly I found out by me using USGA GHIN I cannot have the same luxury’s they have.

PIA. Used the app for the first time today. I may have wasted $39. I was happy with my previous app, however USGA would only allow the app to record it as an Away round. I thought my problems were solved with this app. The app doesn’t stay open on my watch. Every time I want a yardage, I have to search for open apps. What a pain!

This app refuses to work. Takes try after try after try to get this app to open. Sometimes I give up and go back a day or two later only to get a snarky “enter scores on date played”. Which I would 100% if this flipping thing worked even half the time. A clear regression from previous years, this iteration is complete crap. Only works at my house, even then it’s fifty/fifty. Go back to last years version!!!!

Crashes constantly. Crashes probably 10x per round, and if you have bad service it takes forever to restart because it has to re-download the course. Devs need to fix the crashing and should cache the downloaded course for an active round so that even in the event of a crash (ideally a rare occurrence), it’s quick to resume where you left off.

Great app. I have a group of 12 players, and we have 2 to 3 times per week competitions. The GHIN app keeps our golf fair and competitive. Simple to use; even our flip phone players agree.

Almost Perfect!. Green view showing hills and breaks is excellent. Green view a little small but if I put my glasses on, AOK. Making the green view zoom in more would make it perfecto. Still giving it 5 stars, it’s a great app!✌🏻

Unhappy and frustrated.. Very unreliable GPS! I have an iPhone 14 pro and the latest Apple Watch both are running with the current up -dates. The GHIN GPS on the watch is all over the place. The distance readings on the watch frequently do not match those on the phone. The watch GPS also needs constant adjustments. It will skip to other holes while I’m standing still. I wish I could get my money back for the “enhanced version.” $40 wasted!

ghin system app update. I am old and will never have a watch from apple. My phone is also old and is tight on memory. I would prefer to stay with what’s worked for me so far, and to not need to get this new app. F Horne

Suggestions. Good app, I would like to be sable to see trending index on screens after the score entry screen. It’s easy to miss on that screen and want that information. Also would be good to sort your scores to get a good idea of the range of scores.

Great handicap management. If you and your playing partners have a USGA handicap, this App is for you. Index information is available immediately and the course handicap calculator makes prematch stroke adjustments settled easily and accurately.

Hole by hole scoring stats limitations. The hole by hole scoring feature is nice but they need to add additional stat lines to include things like penalties / drop shots and also bunkers, etc. This would improve score analysis because we could then tell if a blow up hole was more induced by penalty shots or pure hacking. Tracking of bunkers would also open the door to tracking sand saves.

Simple to use. Very simple … everything is set up step by step and when you finish you have stats to understand the score … give you stats to backup what you need to work on to improve

Need Apple Watch before I would pay for it. I don’t want to have to carry around my phone the whole time I’m playing golf every other app has a Apple Watch app that you can use right on your wrist . Need to add this to the app for me to start using and paying

Poor IPhone Performance. Upgraded to use with my iPhone after really liking the simple scoring and course view with pretty accurate distances. Really falls flat using the watch interface. Distances only work if close to your watch so don’t walk away from a cart. This hurts pace of play. Distance update slowly if at all. Might have wasted the subscription fee.

Keeps crashing. This app would be excellent if it didn’t crash (on the Apple Watch) four times in an 18 hole round. There should also be better ways to track distances of shots on watch instead of having to go back to your phone. Makes the enhanced paid version def not worth the $40

12 guys. We play golf every Thursday shame 12 guys every now and then there’s a different one in there but we play by handicap and it’s good to have it on your phone so when you sign up you can show them right away

Extremely disappointing app. After constant struggles with this app and NO response from USGA…I’ve had it with this thing. I was so frustrated I reached out to USGA after GHIN told me in no uncertain terms they couldn’t help me! I had to contact USGA, that it’s “their app”. Wow, truly a rip off and I even contacted my credit card company to contest the payment…too late! I cannot suggest anyone pay for the upgrade, junk!

GPS. It’s nice that your scores are added to your handicap and you can pick home and away, some of the other apps wouldn’t let me pick home. I paid for the subscription but the GPS doesn’t work majority of the time. I have used other apps and their GPS seems to always work. I will not renew my subscription.

Unreliable. What is always available on the course? A GPS signal. What is not always available on the course? USGA’s mobile app. Thanks to bad design, whenever there is no cellular signal, this app reverts to the Sentry Insurance screen of death. At least, in 2023, the app lets you back into the round in progress. Better than 2022, when it would fail to reload the course.

App very poor quality.. I run a couple golf groups so I have many players I keep track of their handicap. For no reason at all they just disappear and I have to delete app and reinstall. Quite a nuisance and there is no customer service to call. Quality of app is poor. Also and different times will not let me select tees without deleting app and reinstalling.

Why lock out greens access for more $$. Why not include the greens access with the standard cost? Usga is a non profit and trying to advance the game. I’m ok paying for an app to keep my handicap, but why not provide the greens access included? You are acting more like an mba run for profit than a non profit to advance the game.

OK, when it works.. When this app works, it’s very useful. However, I find that the app constantly closes on my iPhone while I’m playing. Recently, I’ve had to actually log back into the app when it crashes and in its current state It’s very difficult to use, and I find it easier to use other GPS apps. USGA, I think you need an update.

Great Software!. Love this app so very much. I am no pro but the live distances are perfect for my game! One feature request that I would love to see is a live compass heading toward the given pin from the device. Some tee boxes / shots are blind and it would be nice to able to have confidence in direction of a blind shot.

Monopolize. There are a lot of Apps that keeps handicap which is not hard to calculate however GHIN makes it official for some tournament and taking away the free benefit from country club. Paying an extra $65 a year to use an App which is the same as others for free is not if my interest. I understand that all business need to generate revenue however I believe it is better to generate that through innovation not domination. Thank you very much for your concern.🤗🙏

Colorize the Rounds that Count Towards HC. App is pretty good and easy to enter scores but could you please make it easier to see which rounds are counted towards handicap so I can see which ones are about to drop off without having to math. Thanks.

GHIN App. Love the GHIN app and love using the hole by hole stats and the hole GPS!! So nice. Used to use Grint and love GHIN now! Keep making improvements please! Also, make it compatible with the IWatch!! I want to use my watch to get yardage and input scores!

Download TheGrint, 18 Birdies or GolfLogix. As expected the USGA is 10 years behind the times. Their monopoly on the handicap system hurts golfs integration with personal technology. 18 birdies, thegrint and golflogix provide an exceptional product compared to this app. I learned how bad the GHIN app is the hard way. I input round data hole by hole only to learn 20 rounds is the max GHIN will store. USGA should outsource ALL technology operations instead of rolling out antiquated “updates”.

The Apple Watch app is not working. I decided to pay for the full premium Ghin, GPS app and have an Apple Watch that has been working fine with other golf apps, but with the Ghin Golf app, it keeps shutting down then I have to go to the menu and find the app and touch it again to start it up. I feel like if this can’t be figured out then I should be refunded.

Iwatch. Any plans to be able to use with an iwatch? Would be a lot easier to use during a round then dealing with the iPhone.

Worked great until it didn’t. Love the app and its functionality with the gps integration. I used it for about 4 months without a hiccup. Went to use it and the gps maps are the wrong ones for my course. I’ve emailed them over and over again with a response the first time and nothing after. Pretty bummed their service department doesn’t work well.

From Fore to Frustration: The GPS App That Putts the ‘Grr’ in Golf. Unreliable and disappointing: A swing and a miss for the USGA GHIN app. Constant crashes, inaccurate yardages, and excessive battery drain. The app’s performance fell short compared to two separate laser range finders. It’s time for the developers to step up their game and deliver a quality software experience, especially considering the hefty fees collected by the USGA. Get it together and give us an app that lives up to its price tag!

I'd love it if it worked consistently. This is my preferred golf app, but it’s so flaky! It resets during a round. The app often fails to see GPS, even though other golf apps have no problem with it. I like the green reading options and easy access to distances. Posting scores is a snap. But more often than not I have another app running just to be sure…

Please add yardages when selecting tees. I like to download the course and look it over before I’m at the course. It would be nice if when selecting the tees to play that it would list the yardage of the tees. But it only shows the rating. I have to wait to get a scorecard to select the tees.

Review. Still learning the ins and outs of the Ap. I need a handicap to make competing with my friends fine and equal, moving from the NCGA was necessary and I needed the service. It’s nice to know that there will be an improvement in being fair with scoring in this most difficult sport!

No gps function. GPS does not work - maybe due to the smaller iPhone screen?? It gets locked in the ooenong page and will not advance. No cancel or continue button is visible and you can't move the screen or make it smaller to find a button. It's completely useless for gps. Easy to post scores tho.

Soft cap cheater. Golf isnt luck its ability the system is fine. Unfortunately people like you who choose to use your handicap to beat people are The problem. Try to get better and play without a handicap and man up.

Apple Watch issue. Overall works but hole is too easily changed because the digital scroll rotates a bit when you swing the club or make impact. So, be careful before entering information on the hole. Make sure you are on correct hole. It wound be great if they changed hole advance to a different button.

Apple Watch?. I like the gps enough that I would like it on my Apple Watch. It is faster loading than other apps I’ve tried. Didn’t see anything in the upgrade that appeals that much.

Version 5.1.1 has problems. I recently “upgraded” to version 5.1.1 of the GHIN app and I am very disappointed. Before the update everything was working fine. Now after the upgrade, the app crashes frequently on my iPhone, and the companion app on my Apple Watch stopped working entirely! I have an Apple iPhone 12 mini running iOS 16.3, and an Apple Watch model MNNL2LL/A running watchOS 6.3. Please fix this!!!

It’s gotten worse. I have to restart and resume my round multiple times during a round. Or I’ll be on hole 10 and when I look at it for my approach yardage it’ll be on hole 3. I paid a annual membership for a useless service. It was fine last year. I used it every round. This year I haven’t completed a round yet using it because it’s so infuriating. And the Apple Watch support is comically bad.

Very buggy. Often returns to Home Screen while playing a round. Fortunately it remembers the current round and prompts you to finish it. When keeping score for your group, it gets stuck after the 18th hole, going from entering the scores for the group to entering your stats for the 18th hole, back to scores for the group. Emailing support doesn’t appear to get to USGA, or the developers, but gets routed to your state association, who might have their own app, or just doesn’t care (I’m looking at you, Virginia State Golf Association) The single helpful thing in this app is the ability to put your score into GHIN, and sometimes, the GPS view.

The equalizer. Using your app has prevented long arguments on the first tee regarding the amount of stokes someone thinks they deserve or are owed. We can all agree that GHIN has leveled our playing field and no matter how many strokes you think you are owed, GHIN NEVER lies. Thanks for keeping the thieves honest. Haha

GHIN app. I believe you have done a great job with this app. It’s even better than the earlier version. It makes posting very easy. And there are other good features including Handicap Lookup.

Watch bug. Repeated bug: I start around on my phone, then I try to start around on my watch. The watch keeps asking me to start around on my phone. I close the Watch app, then repeat, and the same thing happens. This is happened over several rounds, and sometimes it fixes itself but so far on hole through that’s not happening.

Please wait! GHIN app comments loading...
