Worth it. Great features. The free programs just weren't up to the task. In particular, I wanted to set the rifle zero in one fixed atmosphere, then carry the rifle into another. The free programs won't do this. It will also adjust the muzzle velocity to get the best fit to actual range experience. Now, if it would also make a best fit based on varying the ballistic coefficient...

Ammo selection is inoperable. Don’t waste your time when the ammo tab is non-selectable but absolutely required to calculate dialing. Worthless.

Don’t buy. Don’t buy this app, terrible and inaccurate compared to my other one, wish I can get a refund

Great app. I've used this app for over a year now and am very pleased with it. I've tried just about every ballistic program available and Shooter has the best combination of performance and usability.

New update for iOS 8. After updating to iOS 8 the app closes every time I try to edit bullet data or try to make a new bullet. PLEASE FIX ASAP! I need this app and right now I cannot use!!! Best app on the market for shooting ballistics and solutions. I would recommend this to any avid shooter as a quick and accurate tool for precise long range shooting and hunting. Only reason I don't give this review 5 stars is because the new update makes the app harder to read at a glance. There needs to be something else to help break up the columns so it's easier to read on the fly. Everything is the same now, makes it harder to read the separate lines and columns with it all looking so monotone on the page.

Waste of money - first review I have ever left on an app. Does not even have 300 Win Mag in the library?? One of the most versatile rounds in long range shooting. Had to buy another app after paying $10 for this one

Great App. This is a great app that has a lot of great features and seems to accurately calculate ballistics in an easy to use format. I have only two real complaints. The first being that I would like to see initial bullet velocities shown in the standard ammunition library. For entry level shooters or hunters who don't have a chronograph, we're left searching the internet. The other complaint is that the distance a gun is sighted in is notated on the bullet library, not the gun library. As an owner of several .223 and .308 rifles, it is a huge pain to have the same cartridges listed for each separate gun. It would be much easier to list multiple guns and have a consistent cartridge library.

Do not purchase!. Do not purchase this app. It does not work in the least. The bullet library is far out of date. It does not pair with wind meter at all. Also it is not eligible for a refund.

Not what it seems. In order to use this you will have to buy a shooters bible etc. that has the printed specs for the bullet you wish to use and manually enter the data for each load. This is NO library of different loads--e.g. Remington, Winchester, Federal --not there . You must chose the bullet--nosler etc. from an incomplete list--and then look up velocity in a printed source--shooter's bible for example--the is NO data for Remington Accutip loads for example. This is not worth $0.99 let alone $9.99. I wish I could get a refund. This has no value for the shooter at all: since you have to look up the data you need in an outside source you might as well copy the trajectory onto a piece of paper and tape it to your rifle.

Beware. Unless you know ever specification of your weapon, including barrel twist and everything, this app will be worthless to you. It doesn't have a list of weapons, it just goes of specifications, so don't think your going to type in 30-06, federal soft points, etc... and find out the ballistics, you even have to know the diameter of the bullet, it doesn't ask for a brand or anything. I wish they would explain that in there description, would have saved me ten bucks!

Best Ballistic Calculator. I do a lot of load development for numerous calibers for long range shooting, 1000 yd, at various locations around the Western US and found this program has all the input variables you'll need. Additionally the bullet library is quite extensive

Shooter crash. I am apple version 6.1.3 and since the latest app update Shooter crashes every time I try to edit the ammo. The program has been working great since I first bought the program now it crashes.

Advanced capabilities for advanced shooters. While the app does require you to know (or estimate) some things about your rifle and ammunition to be useful, it's among the best for shooters looking to make precise shots at varying distances or under varying conditions. Looking for Bluetooth/ Kestrel support in a future release, but currently very good.

Very Solid. Having bought most of the ballistic apps, this is the best I have used. While it takes a bit to understand how it works, it gives alot of capabilities other Ballistic apps lack. As a 1000 yard competitive shooter, this app has value.

Great ballistics program. I have numerous ballistic calculators and this program matches them all. Very advanced when you want it to be and quick/easy when you need it to be. My new go to program.

Perfect. Don't listen to the guys above that say its a terrible app. It's awesome a lot of time was obviously put in this making it. If you know your rifle and bullets like any long range shooter should this is what your lookin for. Put me right on at 1100 yards, proof is in the puddin. So don't be discouraged by the few no nothing's up top.

Simply the best!. Calculated values confirmed in the field for 7.62 NATO (Siera 155 #2156) and 5.56 NATO (60 Vmax). No more computer runs and spreadsheet calcs to include Coriolis effects, look angle, and lead values needed to create ballistics cards. Shooter saves hours of time. Best money I ever spent for a ballistics calculator. If you shoot a precision rifle you need this app. Confirmed

Accurate and easy. This app is easy to understand and use. It has also proven to be accurate to distances of 1,000 yards. I live in the Rocky Mountain region where my shooting conditions often change 6,000 feet or more with wide temperature swings. When ballistic and atmospheric information is entered correctly this app provides me with the readings which are normally within 1/4 MOA of Applied Ballistics which is considerably more expensive. Downsides, after updating to IOS 8 (IPAD) velocity calibration still does not work, improvements and updates are infrequent, and the developer is slow to respond to requests for information. Developers for the two other apps I use, typically respond within 24 hours.

Shooter is a great app. Just wish they would update there bullet library!

ios8 update. Sean: thank you for the quick turnaround updating the version for ios8! I now have no more crashes when editing the ammo profiles. I use your app for all of my ballistic calcs from 5.56 to 50 cal. I have used the program out to 1500 yds with .338 lapua mag and it has always gotten me on target.

Killer app. As a new shooter, I was getting very close to my 12" steel targets at 560 yards within just 2 or 3 shots with the instant calcs from the app's "solution" page and plugging in my wind. I could not be happier with this app... Save for possibly a utilities section of basic converters for MOA -> Mil, etc. Even the inclusion of a basic calculator to avoid having to switch apps would be nice. Very satisfied, worth $10.

Perfect resource for long range shooting. I've been using this app for over two years and it is fantastic. If you input correct data you get perfect results. I've gotten three of my guns out to 1200 yards with good dope from shooter. I find inputing G7 data works much better for anything out past about 600 yds. Measure your velocity, input the G7 BC and go shoot.

Really Solid. I've tried several ballistics apps for the iPhone and believe this is the best one. Great interface and features, some other apps boast more features but in my experience don't work as well and are buggy. Logical and intuitive and accurate.

New User Comments. Appear to have to re-enter UID, PW and Email everytime you want to sync. Should remember or have option to do so. Output seems to be only in MOA or Mils even though MOA per click is entered. Must be a setting somewhere that is not obvious. Seems to have all the bells and whistles needed once I get the data loaded. One purchase works on both the iphone and ipad even though iTunes leads you to believe otherwise.

It won’t let me open it anymore.. The app automatically closes out and I have so much info saved on it.

Worth the money. Managed to get hits on a 10" gong at 1200 in 5 rounds with this app. First time shooting long range and using a $200 vortex crossfire, so I'm sure the app calculations were much more accurate than my scope turrets, but I was only off by a few moa and able to adjust from there. Very happy with the purchase.

Needs to be updated for iOS 8.. App works fine. Bullet library needs updating. Still no Hornady ELD’s in .224 and .308 nor Nosler RDF bullets. Possibly others - These are just the ones I know about.

Lacking features. Pros: Profile syncing, Good operation manual online Cons: Rarely updated, clunky UI, old bullet library, lacks features The app is really showing its age, particularly when compared to competitors like StrelokPro. (Current version is nearly 5 years old, whereas StrelokPro updates almost weekly.) My two biggest complaints are that I have to select the gun and ammo EVERY TIME I open the app instead of just picking up where I last left off and that the bullet library is generic and missing modern bullet offerings.

Temperature not coming in right from kestrel. Temp is 76.5 def F. Showing as -7518... in app when paired with kestrel. Hope this gets patched.

Shooter (Ballistic App). This is a good, well functioning application, just not the one I wanted & thought I was paying for. It became obvious when I tried to add calibers and there was no such capabilities. Given the opportunity to cancel the purchase of “Shooter”, and then to purchaseShooter AE”. Good App. I have used this app for a few years now and really like it. My son shoots comp sometimes and uses this app and swears by it.

Highly recommended!. This is my "go-to" app for all of my rifle shooting. If you don't know how to use the app, it can be confusing- but that's cause it has so much to offer. After you download it, go to the website and learn how to fully utilize the app.

Great App. After reading how stupid the negative reviews are about this app I felt the need to wade in here. I teach long range shooting classes and have access to many different apps to help my students hit beyond 1000 yards. For a quick and dirty solution I always end up using Shooter. If we want more precision we'll use Field Firing Solutions which costs hundreds of dollars and requires more power than an iPhone is capable of. It is important to remember all of the app calculators are doing the same thing in the background. Price and usability are the only deciding factors and Shooter has that. You can be very accurate out to 1500 yards with this app.

Great App. I've been using the App for over a year now and it works great! Plug in your load info and you're in business. Calculates wind with an easy to use pointer in the field. I have had no glitches or problems with the app and can highly recommend! Update Still working great after 3 phones and 5 years.

Definitely Worth It. I’ve been long range shooting for only about a year & a half now, but in that time I’ve probably put in over 200hrs of classroom time and over 1k rounds of field time. Just learning to call wind, changing my mind about things, zeroing & trueing multiple different rifles… I’ve used about ten different ballistic calculators. I’ll say this: if you’re sticking to a max time of flight that’s about 1.3s then look no further. If you’re really going out there at 1500yds and beyond, the Hornady 4DOF app is actually really good at predicting hits well past 1k yards. But it’s way more labor intensive with the data inputs; you need to be doing that correctly. And it can be more frustrating than this app when shooting at 800yds or less. The reason I prefer the Shooter app for anything less than extreme ranges (which should catch about 99% of guys shooting rifles) is because it’s super accurate & super simple. You open it then type in the distance, temp & elevation, make a wind call, and bam you’re on target. It gives you the firing solution in a super clean format without adding more decimal places; just the numbers you need to dial. It doesn’t go crazy with coriolis or spin drift or aerodynamic jump…all of which occur, but in something like a Cd vs Mach (point mass solver) any error in inputs while setting up the rifle can lead to rather large errors in the firing solution. As with any app, make sure you have a true zero using ten shots. That’ll give you the true center of your cone of fire. 3-5 shots aren’t enough and will make you think you have a “wandering zero”. Then shoot out at distance, say 6-800yds, 10 shots again, looking at the height of the group versus your calculator. If you have a good average velocity measured by a chronograph, I’ve rarely seen the need to true by changing either MV or BC. But for shorter ranges (given the small amount of shots recorded over a chronograph, the inaccuracy of photocell chronos, etc) I prefer tweaking the MV by 10-20fps to true. After that, if you’re good at judging both wind speed & direction then you’ll find this app to be incredibly accurate for minimal effort on your part. Haven’t found any other calculator that’s as accurate or easy to true up a rifle with at non-extreme ranges.

Great App, but needs an UPDATE!!!. This is a great app, but it hasn’t been updated in over two years. At the least, the bullet library needs an update!

Trash. I have entered every detail about my firearm, but after I hit calculate, it just shows a loading screen and never transitions to show me data. I will never give this developer money again and want a refund

Worth It!. This app works well. You can sync your data to an o line account. After entering all the particulars of gun and Ammo, I was able to walk the gu from 100 to 1000 yards first shot at each distance. The calculations were right on target (pun intended and literal).

Virtually no support. Basic functions work fine but if there is a question or any issue not covered in the years-old instructions you are SOL. I bought the app in iTunes Store and used it for over a year on my iPhone and when I got a new iPhone it is trying to charge me again to install. No answers from developer. Think I will look elsewhere rather than pay another ten bucks. Update. Got the app to re-download without charge. Still no new updated version, no updated bullet library. For example, Hornady has come out with a number of new 6.5 Creedmoor loads and bullets, like ELDM and ELDX cartridges that are very widely used and popular ammo. They are nowhere to be found in the library. Again the app has basic functionality, but it’s a shame the developer doesn’t put in a minimal amount of effort to update it for users to make it more functional and convenient.

No Solution. The app works great. I have purchased versions of 1.2.9 for both my iPad and my iPhone. The only problem I have is that I cannot find the "SOLUTION" tab on the iPad version. I contacted tech support per the instructions on the website over a month ago and still have not received a response. If I can get a response and learn how to access the solution tab on my iPad I would rate the app five stars.

Update Fixed the Crashing BUT.... ...selecting the graph tab only shows me a blank white page. Nice addition to an otherwise top notch ballistic solver but that aspect is not working on my iphone. The graphs of these apps are pretty unusable by me anyway. It's better handled on a PC with software, say like, Sierra's Infinity program. Those graphs are more useable, IMO...I just wanted to check it out and compare it to the other solvers graphs on the app store. Gonna go fuss with it some more to see if there're any other quirks.

App Does Not Work!. I paid for this app and it just constantly crashes. I immediately went to report the issue and request a refund and it’s not available apparently. Hopefully someone will read this and assist with that.

Works perfect, needs a major update. Needs to be brought up to date with all of the newest bullets and powder options. Otherwise works good.

Won’t open anymore. Used to love this app but it won’t even open now, definitely needs updated, made a great app then quit supporting it

Great App, Must if you own a scoped rifle. Has an ability to True the ballistic calculation to be spot on. It calls it Velocity Calibration. Was looking so a simple implementation of this as seen on the Magpul videos without spending hundreds on another PDA. Overall I like it a lot. It's simple and straight to the point. Like it better than Bullet Flight(cheapest edition). If you own a scoped rifle and want to shoot accurate with it, this is a must.

Tested it - appears to be an accurate and great app. I own a firearms training company in GA that offers two Long Range Precision Rifle Course shooting out to 700 yds. We tell our students that if you depend on only one ballistics program for your predictions you are a fool. Different programs use different approaches to crunch numbers and often use different assumptions (G1 vs G7 for instance). If those assumptions are valid, the solutions will be pretty close from program to program. Where you have a large discrepancy - you need to hunt that down - it could be a typo in the BC program database that you can't fix. Thats why you should always check a new program against programs of known accuracy. Checking this program against Sierra Infinity, the online JBM calculator, and Bryan Litz's Point Mass program shows it to agree very closely with all three programs. I particularly like the fact that his database includes Bryan Litz's empirically derived ballistic coefficients. This tells me that Sean Kennedy did his homework when he built this program and it produces good numbers. My phone upgrade came up last month and I dumped my Blackberry for the Iphone in part specifically for apps like this one. This app is really going to make it much easier and quicker to get a customer on target if their primary weapon goes down and they have to go for their backup or one of our rental rifles. Great app - highly recommend it.

Not good.. I cannot find a way to change to metric for weather and distances. I set up the preferences on the web site, but it does not sync to my phone. Now to try and get my money back

Good ballistics app for iOS. A little difficult to get setup, but once you get the hang of it, great program. Really like the ability to sync data on all devices.

Ok for the money but not current.. App hasn’t been updated in almost 4 years and doesn’t show options for lots of new bullets on the market although you can manually enter new bullet profiles.

Windage no Kph. Great app, but for some reason no Kph for wind. If you're a metric guy you only have M/S which is no help. Fix that and 5 stars for sure

Ok. Automatic environmentals do not work well with degrees- gets negative results. No average/standard velocities included in bullet library.. I know it's not ideal but even a rough idea is better than nothing. Would like to see better truing of BC, rather than velocity. Also, quick solution feature is only available for iPhone and not iPad as well...

Too expensive for what it has. Paying $12.99 I expected this app to have everything, when I first tried to use the app it didn't come with the Remington bullets I needed and everytime I tried to manually put in my bullet data the app would crash. Regretful buy.

Shooter. Until apple allows full access to the iPhones Bluetooth stack Shooter is only as good as other well known ballistic apps for iOS. If access is granted and kestrels services become operational, I believe shooter on iPhone will rival all but the most expensive PDA based Ballistic programs.

Ballistics Calculator. Opportunity to add your data so reloaders will like it. However, not enough ammo ballistics are added. No CCI ammo in 22lr but you can add it yourself. My data did not result in the ballistics data from CCI but some data was not entered as it was unknown. I look forward to more updates.

Always works. I have had this app for at least five years. I have seen my buddies with some others an we have seen different numbers generated but mine always works bang on. That's what counts at the end of the day

Distance step adjustability. Overall great app! I been using this app for quite a long time without a problem. Somehow the newer version doesn’t not feature the same adjustments as previous versions. Ie the ability to set the distance increments finer for accurate compensation. IMHO a indispensable feature for the app. Please consider adding this back into the app.

Overall good. User friendly, but it does need to have the ability to calculate a rifles zero with a known point of impact at a known range... Say you hit 3.5" high at 500 yards.... At what distance is the rifle zeroed?? The nightforce exbal program has this and i use it all the time. Thanks, keep the updates coming

Terrible App. This app is terrible. You shouldn't have to do a research project on your gun and ammo in order to input all the data it requires. It should have all factory loads by manufacturer to choose from as a base. Likewise the rifle or handgun should be available to choose instead of having to enter data that is difficult to obtain. I wasted a lot of money on this app to find this out. Don't make the same mistake. Description is very misleading.

Needs Repairs since ios8. I think this app is one of the best. It quit working after ios8 was installed. Please build a patch for this.

Great app. I have on my droid. When will the iPad version match the iPhone app? Then it gets a 5!

I like it. Very intuitive and easy to input, after inputting on some PC based programs that are convoluted, this is a joy. Really like the solutions screen.

Good program, inop sync. Device to Web sync issue resolved after emailing for support...program now easily earns 5 stars!

On Target. Good app. I use it in conjunction with another (more expensive) app, and between the two I am able dope my shots dead on target. I especially like the windage "dial" and instant atmosphere readouts.

Update. Please update this app, does not work ios8 and you have completed no updates in several years.

Good app, no support. Great app......however, can no longer email results, therefore, can not print results. Was able to do so prior to upgrading. Contacted designer, no response....

Shooter Ballistics. I purchased this apps, that I never used because the so called library ammo data is not complete and you have to manually input the velocity data, and other information into your device in order to continue. Check out other ballistic apps with better and complete ammo data library, accuracy, ease of use, etc, Sergeant, Sniper, USMC

Great app for long range precision shooters. Switched to Shooter from Ballistic AE a little while back and I couldn't be happier. I would easily have given a 5 star rating but there has been a pretty long delay in updating the bullet library. Hopefully there is an update soon.

Thanks for Updating!. Great ballistic calculator. Lots of features. Calculations have been very close. Elevation was a little low but I got on target good enough with my 6.5 Lapua to hit an 8" gong at 1,000 Yds. Worth the money.

Started working finally.. But I can't say why. Last thing I changed was no elevation input to 0 elevation. I think the program needs some default values like sea level and input check routines. Now it just locks up if you have a bogus input.

Perfect for zero gravity shooting. This app has never worked well for me. I thought I'd wait for updates to correct it but updates never worked in two years. Trajectory graphs are straight lines with no drop.

Why can't I edit my bullet profiles??. Great app, I use it all the time.. However after my recent phone update, I cannot edit my bullet profiles!!!! Please fix this.

Shooter crashes on both the 4 and 4s. I just bought this app on two separate devices, both iPhones (4 and 4s) and they are completely unusable as they both crash when entering load info. I've heard a lot about this app and hope you come out with a fix soon as I'm out $20. Please help!

A very good app. This is an very good ballistics application. Would have rated five stars but the shooting solution feature for the iPhone is not available on the iPad.

Broken. Completely broken and un useable on iPhone 4. You have to enter in the distance you're shooting at, so the keypad comes up. However, the keypad won't go away, and it hides the "done" button. So my only option is cancel. If you're on the 4s or lower, don't buy until this is fixed.

Useless for anyone but ammunition manufacturers!. For ballistics experts ONLY!! Terminology used goes light years beyond the common rifle owner and re loaders knowledge! This is WAY beyond useless to me!! Useful for ammunition manufactures certainly but for no one else! No instructions no glossary to explain how to use this "information"!

Great program. I shoot out to past 1750yards and with this software I make first round hits from my zero to 1800. It is right on with my PDA and Nightforce software.

Good until Atmosphere sync stopped working. Worked well until the Atmosphere sync stopped working. Now its a very basic tool without it and not worth paying any $ for.

Won't load or work. Really disappointed. Tried contacting the developer of the software and can't reach them. Hoping this gets through to someone. Just a blank screen when I try to install. Looks like a promising program if it would install properly. Please someone help.

Very, very nice. Best program for iPhone yet. Tons of options from getting atmospheric info local station (so it has wind speed, humidity, temp). Compensates for coriolis effect, plus all the rest, bullet, speed, twist, etc.

New update doesn't work. After installing the latest update the app fails every time I click calculate. It has been an amazing app until now. That's why i still give it 4 stars in anticipation of a quick fix.

Shooter app. This is a very nice app, and easy to use. Nice list in the bullet catalog. I only wish that it had the solutions chart on the iPad the same as on e iPhone.

Great app but does not function anymore after update. I've used this app to accurately shoot out to 1200 yards and need it to get my 338 lapua out to 2500 yards! It does not work with the new iOS update please fix ASAP...

Not the greatest. Bought the program and it never loads on my 4s when I hit calculate the free version is a lot better I would check a free one out first

Shooter. Great app but... still a few glitches since latest Apple update and app update. Fixed OS8 crashed, but weather still won't populate.

Unhappy. I was told this was a good app. Wrong. I installed this app on my IPad and my iPhone an with the same impute I got very different results on each one. Then I compared these to the G7 program and the Shooter was way off. How can I have faith in this program? Don't waste your time!

iOS 8 update will not populate weather. The app will no longer get weather data from station since the iOS 8 update.

Almost perfect. Online management, customizable rifles , and G7 & G1. The only thing I hate is that on iPhone distance is in yards only. I work in meters for my job, also wish they had the kestrel plug in and GPS ability

Waste of Money. I agree with Buckchaser's comments. The vendor's "library" of ballistic data of factory ammunition is pathetic. They have exactly 2 bullets types of Siera under .223 which is one of the most popular calibers second only to .22LR ammo. I don't load my own ammo so how the hell am I supposed to know powder temp or ballistic coefficients of factory loads. I'm lucky if the manufacture puts basic ballistic data on their website or packaging.

Good App. Good app. Same formulas as expensive PC software. If you think it needs too much data for a calculation, you obviously don't need it.

Last iOS update was 2012....????. Wow I wish I had read the manual prior to wasting $10! DO NOT PURCHASE FOR APPLE Really??? 2012 was the last update, pretty dang lazy! None of the bullets I shoot are updated so the program is basically useless unless I go back to factory loads which there is no need for a calculator ....

Best app on the market!. This is the best ballistics app around. Easy to use with quick load speeds. Great for multiple guns or a single gun.

Easy to use. Good App, easy to use interface and accurate results. Only down side is it does not have any metric inputs available for bullet diameters.

Kestrel support??. In my opinion this is one of the three ballistics apps I use. The things I don't like is the pre loaded profiles are all G1, I use G7 and there is no bluetooth option for Kestrel support. The govt ammo profiles is very limited. Add kestrel support and I'll change to 4 stars the lack of G7 profiles/govt profiles I can deal with.

Shooter app.. This app is unbelievable. If a calculation is wrong its you not the app. Way better then any high dollar program. Bryan Litz and Sean did an amazing job with it.

Shooter. Excellent app. Instructions detailed on developer web page are quite good. Does what it is suppose to do.

Update Bug. Latest update causes program not to function, selecting calculate closes the application. Worked fine prior to this update.

Worth more than 10 bucks. Have tried more expensive programs with less favorable results. I keep coming back to Shooter!

Shooter Ballistics. The program is fantastic. Inputed all my reloads and factory info and the results were on the MARK! Glad I bought it.

Riley b. This app is a necessity. I use the calculations provided to compete in long range tactical competitions . With new IOS however, it will not let me edit my bullet profiles! FIX ASAP!

Dead nuts on. After updating iOS this app works beautifully. Dialed in middle ranges at 475 and 585 with Litz 208 gr Amax and scored hits. I worked the velocity backwards with observed hits and found this to be very accurate. Worth every penny so far.
