Essential and Amazing. I’ve tried so many AQI (air quality index) apps. With the advent of the Canadian wildfire season, the air in the Midwest has been exceptionally awful. This app uses my location (and doesn’t put a hit on my battery) to keep me informed about the state of the air I breath. I use it multiple times a day. Being able to see WHAT is contributing to the AQI (PM2.5, O3, PM10, etc) is also useful for me. The Apple Watch complication works incredibly well! The level of detail that has gone into this app is remarkable. The home screen widgets work really well too. You can stop looking, you’ve found the right AQI app.

Fix your feedback form. I wanted to tell you guys there’s a typo on the ventilation pop up, but your feedback form is broken. It quits when you attach a picture from library, and the submit button is disabled no matter what you do.

Loved it, but stopped working. I loved Air Matters that showed the pollen count and it was colorful. I was going to rate it five stars, but today (Sunday, 9-15th) Air Matters STOPPED working. When I tapped on it and it opened NO information was available on pollen count in any of the cities I have saved. Please fix the application because I loved it, so that it will work again. Thank you for your time.

Great app with Apple Watch complication, but recently became unreliable. We live in China and rely on this for easy-access, the app overall is very good but the Apple Watch complication sometimes doesn’t update. The complication will show a different number than the actual reading (shown in the same app) for the particular monitoring site selected.

Easy tool. Have found this a simple and reliable tool. Quick check every day is so informative. First began using it during summer wildfire season - and it is really invaluable then.

Too much delay. I had this app at 5 stars. Most concise UI, excellent customer service, but, the reports are 3 hours behind. So I sit hear with the app telling me it’s 71 outside, while the actual reading is 110. Such a big delay in the data updating renders the app basically useless. :(

Not always accurate. Since I live in Salem Oregon where the wildfires have polluted the air, I have been regularly checking the air quality. When I look outside and see/smell smoke and then check the app, it has said the air quality is good, down to six. I wish! And then a few minutes later it’ll jump to 179, or even above 400. It’s kind of all over the place, which is too bad. Hope it’s fixed soon because I do like this app otherwise.

Won’t update to my current location.... I can’t figure out how to get the app to update to my current location very frustrating. Had to turn off my widget since I don’t need to see the air quality where I don’t live.

Suggestion for Watch: make stats up top. This app is great for knowing how bad the air is. One suggestion I have for the Apple Watch version of the app, is to make the statistics on pollen, O3, PM2.5, NO2, CO, etc show up at the top of the watch’s screen. This is because while pollen may make me feel miserable, the man-made pollutants are actually dangerous to my health, so I’d like to see those up top.

I was forced to use and pay for this dysfunctional crap-app. When I bought my philips air scrubber, little did I know that this app was the only chance to interact with the overpriced and underperforming appliance. After setting it up, the philips device joins my network and can be used with third party open source COAP commandline tools but not with this sorry excuse of an app. To add insult to injury I am forced to pay on top of the price of the already overpriced philips cleaner to remove ads. Seriously... this is 2021... you still do ad stuff and sell broken iot devices? Not amused... (my home network is using aruba access points, if you’re interested to fix this)

Pollen Complication. I downloaded this app for the pollen complications which worked for a few days than disappeared. What happened ? I would like an option too have a complication specifically for pollen because it seems like no one else does that and this app was recommended for Apple Watch users looking for that complication not just overall air data that factors that in. Also your current city location feature is broken, it does not update from location to location and sometimes it shows no data on the watch at all.

Life-Saver. I’m so grateful for this app, it’s a watchdog over certain corrupt activities and it aids our family on day to day medical treatment for my children. My daughter struggles to breathe from a compromised bronchial tract from the effects of the Keystone Sanitary Landfill (KSL) and leachate running through our combined Sewer System in Scranton, PA. As the head of the neighborhood group, we have sued both the landfill, City & Mayor over the issuance of an “Amended Permit” allowing the flow of leachate despite a 2002 Court Order directing that KSL utilize a dedicated line to the stop of this criminal activity. PA DEP stands by in fear of Louis DeNaples while our residents and my child suffer. Additionally, her twin sister suffers from severe seasonal allergies and this app provides 100% accurate data that aids me on which meds to give her. We all have this on our phones, including our oldest daughter who is a student at Loyola University, Chicago. Thank you, this app is a must!

Great app for controlling air purifier. I use it to control my Philips air-purifier. I love the app and the controls are intuitive and responsive. One problem I have with it is the filter replacement reminder, why is it in hours? It’s so confusing. I’m to change my filter in 2400 hours? Why HOURS! How many days is that? Now I have to get a calculator! An option to change the unit to days would be most welcome!

Great app but watch no longer updates. Love the app but the complication on the Apple Watch face no longer updates. Hopefully they will fix it soon as I really enjoyed having that so handy

Excellent. I don’t usually write a review, this app made me feel that I should share. It is really good application, not only showing your air quality, it also detect your location and show air in your area. It also have a recommendation whether it’s safe to do activity outside, open window etc, and even a forecast for the next 5 days. The control of the Philips air purifier is also very good, I can track air quality at home, control the machine getting the air ready for my arrival.

Apple Watch complications broken. I used to love this app, but since iOS13 and WatchOS6 the watch app and complications have stopped functioning. Tried contacting support with info but they are non responsive. If you just want the phone app, this is probably the best air quality app out there. 5 stars when the watch works again.

Makes phone lag. Awesome app, appears very accurate based on other sources, and love the widget. My only complaint is that when it's running on my phone, everything is very (very) laggy. Not just the app but everything on my phone. It's fixed when I close the app out of multitasking, but it'd be nice to be able to have it run in the background.

What happened to this app?. This app used to be great, but lately the results are completely incorrect. With the fires in California I’ve been using this app for some time to know the air quality with the smoke, but I just can’t trust it anymore. For example right now it shows my level is a 7, very good air quality in my area, but I can physically see the smoke, and competing apps show my air quality as an unhealthy 123. Some variation could be expected, but that’s just nuts. If I can’t trust the readings the app is of no value to me.

Clean, concise, powerful. It has all the info you need presented in a pleasant and simple fashion. It does what it says and does it well. I do wish the map would start more zoomed in to your current location, instead of showing a whole country. That would probably save the developer a ton of money in API requests as well ;)

Good but forecasts are terrible and crashes. Forecast is always good but my air quality is not that. App has regular crashes when clicking on certain items. Developers need to test their app more.

Phenomenal air quality app. I have lived in China and Taiwan for 6 years and tried multiple air quality apps. This one is by far the best for two big reasons: data sources and data history. When I was in China and didn't know what air quality data to trust, I found that this one offered the most choices of data sources and was the most consistent with my personal experience of the air and my handheld air quality monitor. Also, it lets you visualize air quality over the last few days to see how bad (or good it's been) and even check air quality in different places to see which city you might want to move to (haha). Irreplaceable. Thank you so much to the creators of this app! (You could charge a few more dollars to remove ads and I would pay.)

Great app!but crashed on my Apple Watch 1st-gen. Its been a great app, it always be! But...actually it got crashed on my apple watch 1st-gen. I did reinstall the app both on iPhone & watch... Still get crashed...sad face... But i'll give it 5stars consider the experience it has providing to me, and hope the developer could fix this bug as soon as possible.

Fantastic app but.... This is a phenomenal app which is the best at doing what it does. But I hate the ads in the app and the subscription based ads removal I hate even more. There should be a one time purchase option.

It‘s good but.... There is a big problem and it has been around for a long time. The amounts of city ranking at most only 100, but there are 370 cities in mainland China, so no matter whether it is the best or worst query, only 200 cities can be found, and 170 can't find it. For example, this app cannot find the average annual PM2.5 in Shanghai.

Doesn’t work on Apple Watch without an iPhone nearby.. App on the Apple Watch has a pollen complication that doesn’t work if you walk away from the iPhone it’s paired to, even if you have a cellular Apple Watch. Why not? Can you fix this? I suffer chronically from allergies triggered by pollen from grass, flowers and trees and this app is no good to me if it can’t function properly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Displays a simple watch complication, similar to the Apple AQI ... before it stopped working 🙄, while also providing a ton of information within the app itself.

Something changed ?. Something changed on the app within the last six weeks or so. Used to be able to see readings for my small town and many others around me. AQI’s used to be in small squares and literally covered my state (and others) with readings. Now the AQI readings are in circles, and there are only a few in my state, and they are in the same locations as US government / EPA sensors and they’re giving the same numbers as the EPA sensors. Did AirMatters switch to using government sensor data (???), which I’ve found to be much less accurate.

Good app as a builtin replacement. It’s a good app for replacing the builtin one in the cities without air pollution data source. It would be better if the app on Apple Watch 4 could works in the corner with the rainbow bar like built in one.

Awesome app!. I use this app mainly because I am live in China and the air pollution there is horrible! There is one problem though, air matters keeps crashing on my Apple Watch series 2, wonder if they can fix this. Other than that, a great app!

Data accuracy in China suspect. This apps aqi data is generally much better than other sources. Could be because govt controls what can be posted. Just be aware. I’ve seen the Shenzhen 2.5pm metric half of what other sources show. And sometimes when the numbers are actually the same, the app says green/very good when other sources say yellow/unhealthy.

Uses lots of data, widget often frozen. Great details on air quality. But the widget sometimes never updates and the app uses a lot more data than my other weather apps even though I use them all in a similar way (install the widget and check the widget and app a few times a day).

Became very unreliable after May 2019. It seems that for some countries the source of data was changed or started to be adjusted in line with public data provided by local state weather control, which sometimes shows levels of contamination 3-6 times lower from the real ones. Do double check with other sources (not just other applications that may use shares same sources of air quality) and always consider visual check as minimal steps for the educated guess of what’s in the air outside.

Quite possibly a lifesaver. Real time air quality indices and recommendations for searchable areas. If you have a respiratory problem you probably should have this app. It also advises if you should have an air purifier and how aggressively to set it. With the fires in the Pacific Northwest US right now it cued our household that we need to relocate to stay with family in a better region. With nowhere to escape the smoke, we could identify with “safer” air to stay—and an air purifier, because they are completely sold out in our area. VERY USEFUL!

Great app. I love how the app gives you so much detail and it does not cost you a thing it’ll also connect to certain air purifiers so you know when your air purifier need to be turned up higher so awesome!!!

It works. They really need to fix the search function. It needs to let you type in a city and then provide the nearest results. Right now, you have to type in the city, spell it correctly, and if the city isn’t in its database, the window stays empty without providing any indication if it’s still searching, or just crashes and got hung up. Clunky interface.

Always good but a small bug.. I have been using the app for more than three years to detect the air quality in my home, and it has always been good to use! But after a recent update, I failed to get the data for my air quality monitor laser egg 1, hope the developer will fix the bug!(while get the data from laser egg original app successfullly)

Philips air purifier 2000 wifi problems. I am currently on iOS 11 and the app keeps failing to pair the air purifier. I have tried everything even bring it closer to the router and also using the advanced setting via IP address connection. No luck. The rest of the app is great and works fine but the sole reason i downloaded this app was for the air purifier.

Fake. The app sent me a notification saying air quality where I am has improved to 17. This seems strange because we're surrounded by major wildfires. I open the app, and it says AQI 17. I view the map in the app, and my area is over 100. I visit the EPA web site, and it says the AQI is over 100. I look out the window and I can see the smoke in the air. The app wildly contradicts itself, which makes its fake data useless. Subscription cancelled. Do not use this app, it's just using fake data to sell ads.

A life saver. Clean readible app that not only provides data, but also recommends actions to take based on the data.

Almost Perfect!. Love this app! Information demographics, content, details. Tho I wish it would show count on icon. My one complaint is that I had to turn off location settings and do a manual set do to a location that would automatically set its self.

Very well made app.. This is a well designed all with great accurate information. The push badge number, widget, and Apple Watch complication are all well done. It even supports the new infographic complications on Apple Watch 4.

This app really is excellent. I don't write app reviews. This won't be a particularly *detailed* app review either - no feature list / analysis or anything. I'm really tired and I'm having a bad pollen day, but I was using this app to plan my schedule for tomorrow, and thought to myself "Man, these people actually deserve 99 cents. I wish I could tip them. This is meaningfully improving my life a little bit. (nothing life-changing ofc, but I mean, it's a tool and it helps)." 5/5 stars. [Insert glowing technical review here]

Cleaning up our act now, Mother Earth will thank us.. Great view of the condition of the world air, even though it is rather depressing, we better get it together and work with each other. I am recommending the website to all my friend’s.

Best one among its peers - has mobile stations data. I have 5 apps installed, which i’ve been using daily to compare for about a month now. This one is performing well above all other (also very reputable) ones. The major distinguishing aspect of it is that it collects data from many mobile stations in my area, and not only from the (very few) ones that are constant in their local positions. That enhances Air Matters’ accuracy and granularity of data, by far! Haven’t come across any of the other apps to be anywhere near the level of this one. To improve: I would love to see some more pollen data in the app in my current area (Israel), which seems to be incomplete. THANKS A BUNCH, keep on the great helpful work please!

I love it. I have asthma and I looked around a lot on the App Store, Nothing else had all of the information that I needed. I would recommend it to anyone who has sensitive lungs. I know when I should limit outdoor activities and when I can do a little bit more outdoor activities.

I have been using the app for 2 years. Every couple of month appears bug on the application that can’t make you connect the air purifier to the application and even when I remove device and re-paird it again it’s the same problem, conclusion with the updates they bugged the pairing, right now there’s problem that you can’t pair your device with wifi please developer solve it as soon as possible

Broken in China?. Is this app broken in Beijing China? I am in Beijing right now, the app is telling me the air quality score is 345 (which is really, really polluted), however the air is super clean right now. I’m near the center of the city, where the pollution can be awful. I’ve been outside on days where the pollution is 200+ and it’s living hell, the air quality right now is nowhere near 200 or even 100, in fact I rarely experience days in Beijing where the air as clean as it is today! Another note: Currently the app says the air in Tianjin (天津市), a small city near Beijing, has an air quality score of 700+. With the air being super clean in Beijing right now the possibility of Tianjin having air quality scores that bad are very unlikely. If you live in California and remember the massive wildfire that happened recently, the smoke from that fire caused a score of about 450.

Convenient for checking air quality. Faster than going to the Weather app to check air quality.

Unreliable data. At the time of writing we are having wildfires in California. Our local aqi is 150+ but this app showed that just a few towns over the aqi was a much better 45 in multiple locations in the same cluster. Needless to say the aqi was just as bad 150+ where this app said 45 after refreshing many times. Unreliable data = deleted. Just use the default weather app. It showed 150+ in all the areas we visited where this app was all over the place.

Color scale doesn’t match data. I like this app quite a bit, but it is frustrating that often a submeasure will display as green but when you click on scale, it’s actually moderate. The color scale should match the data and not give an overly favorable view.

I love it! Perfect for asthma patients. This app is perfect! As an asthma patient who is currently living in Shanghai, I must say this is THE most essential app one can get on their smart phones in order to survive the harsh conditions in China. For those who are in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou, they can enjoy the best feature of the app which is the side-by-side comparison of the pm2.5 index from both the US embassy/consulate and Ministry of Chinese Environmental Protection. The latest version features a pm2.5 calendar and it plots historical data onto the in-app calendar and allows better understanding of the past trend.

Great app!. Very useful and highly recommended. It would be good if you can make an option to select the closest monitoring station as the default view in the Apple Watch "Glance" - or an option to switch between the city average and closest monitoring station.

Stopped working for Sydney Australia. Had this app for months but 2 months ago Sydney only shows the air quality at either 48 or 52. There have been days where I can see from the city up to the mountains and days where the sky is dirty but this app never seems to change the air quality rating. Need to find one that works

Okay but too hard to pair with Philips. Too hard to pair gave up after several attempts with various settings Didn’t cost much and has some interesting info.

Why is this app 250MB?. The app is great in terms of functionality but why is it 250MB? Ad tracking frameworks? Come on…

Love it but. Widgets not working

Good app. I really like the UI, simple and has all the info I need, worthwhile getting rid of the ad too

Need to add Bendigo, VIC. Need to add Bendigo Victoria Australia Oceania! Terribly smoky here today, but have no idea what the air quality is like.

Brilliant.. This ap gives you all you need to know in one simple screen.

Used to be good. The app used to take only official air quality data so you knew what you were reading. Not it utilises open access data time show many more map data points. That is nice in theory of course but practically suffers from that open source data often not representing what outside air quality is like. I have often seen values of over 200 and less than 30 next to each other. One is likely indoors in a filtered environment and the other reflects actual outdoor conditions (there are bushfires nearby). This is as bad if not worse then the algorithms some apps use which seem equally poor and estimating air quality when you you need it (that is when it’s not just good). The problem is you can’t tell what is what, it is very misleading and easy to think the wrong data is correct. Really disappointed the app went this way, especially when we need robust data with all the poor air quality we are getting at the moment.

Great app - how to remove ads?. Love this app. How to remove ads?

Used to be good. Switched to air visual. Tons better. Despite the updates stating apple watch complication has been fixed, it's still a dud. Doesn't refresh unless you open the app on the phone. The details in the watch app are not as useful as "AirVisual" as it gives a glance of recommendations e.g. Ventilation, outdoor activity, open or close windows. Have tried to go back to air matters but always missing the stability of air visual. Delete this app and install air visual. Thank me later.

Looks good. Pretty sad it doesn’t provide data for Canberra act Australia

Recommend it as a Beijing requirement. Great app if your partner is pregnant or you are concerned about the health of yourself and family especially when the current pollution level is rated at hazardous .(347ppm) helps to plan the outdoor activities in Beijing

Tiny bit of improvement needed. Well overall this app is great, now that’s outta the way. The app does have a small issue with it’s location, as with my location it is off by a few suburbs. So you may wanna look into it developers? 👌

Good. Unlike the other 2 apps I tried, this one has nice historical data graphs for the past 24 hrs and past few days.

Great app. Redesign is terrific, lots more useful information, particularly the ability to see the air quality readings from monitoring stations nearby based on GPS position

Eats battery, Dev does not respond. Nice looking app with useful info. Made the in-app purchase to ad free within 2 days of downloading. However, after a few days noticed that the app was constantly using about 10% of my battery, I emailed the Dev explaining the situation, but was never responded to. Deleted after many days of waiting for the Dev.

Not good. Very slow Saves places I don’t want to save Can’t delete saved places Always lagged out and I get kicked out of the app I do NOT recommend this app

Ok. Like the app but the index values don't equate to the Australian values so it's not really making much sense.

Great, but.... Great and useful app, except that even I keep checking and tapping the app, the notification number keeps adding up and I can find no way to erase it. Please fix the notification problem...

Less is more. Fantastic example of less is more on an air quality app. Within seconds of opening you know whether your windows should be open or not and how long you should be spending outside. Especially useful right now in Australia with the bushfires constantly throwing air quality between okay and terrible in a matter of hours.

Detailed info - very useful. I use this app every day. Helps me decide whether it's ok to exercise outdoors or not. Works very well. Used to tell me the index for the nearest monitoring site though - not sure what happened to this particularly useful feature.

Not accurate. Doesn’t seem to be very accurate. Air today is the worse I have experienced in my lifetime, yet the app says it’s ‘moderate’. Other sources appear more accurate

Doesn’t work. We had an official air quality warning issued by emergency services in Australia because it’s so low currently, yet the app said “excellent” air quality for both days 🥱

Great App. Very useful for getting accurate air quality info. If you live in China or just want to know about the air quality in major cities download this app.

Quite well polished app!. I haven’t used it lately, but there are bushfires today and I can see it’s bad here. For some reason if I tap on Naremburn (NSW, Australia) and swipe up to try to see more, the app crashes. Has happened twice. Was there a buggy update recently? ——————— Really, really love this app. It's beautiful AND useful! --------------- I'd say this is the best China AQI monitoring app on iOS. Most feature complete, lest buggy, best design, continual updates. It was worth paying to help the developer. Thanks! Design is beautiful, and having the weather as well as notifications when it gets worse is pretty cool. Less detailed info as Air Quality China app (you get to choose different monitoring stations per city and display average or max values per city, as well as choose US AQI levels) but this is very helpful still.

An essential tool for Beijing life. I refer to this app through out the day and it is an essential part of our daily life in Beijing.

Air quality. Great to see what’s around but would like to enter either general area like northern beaches or specific suburb eg dee why. My grandchild has health issue and it doesn’t really matter what the air is like 20 km away. Thanks

I can’t find my city!. There are 7 states in Australia, why it only lists four on the app??

Developer has serious failings. Australia, This app uses sensors that do not nowcast they are only good as a historical record. However the app attempts to make a prediction and display readings right now. Completely wrong in Australia bordering on dangerous.

Inconsistent with all other local measurements. Seems to be taken from inside a house with a wood fire. All other local sites show very good-AQI of less than 10. This app shows “ very poor” AQI 120. Clearly is either incorrect or relies on very few measurements. Canberra Australia

Beautifully Designed App. This app has the potential to replace your weather whilst also providing you air quality in China. Downside is the icon, it's ugly and doesn't cut it for my home screen. Change the icon and it's a winner.

Sir. I live in Brisbane, Australia. This App is very informative and interesting. I'm so pleased I found it and recommend it to anybody who might be interested.

Isn’t in my location. Isn’t in my location but it a nuisance because I don’t live in Woolloongabba or cannnon hill.

Don’t bother. I want to know the air quality now, not what it was 5-6 hours ago. Data is not updated often enough.

Now useless. There seems to draw on a number of unofficial sources that all read AQI 120. I can change the source used, but it always eventually defaults back to a local useless source. Subscription cancelled.

For iPhone X?. Hope to update for the screen and FaceID of iPhone X

Breathe easy. Excellent app, covering multiple cities, with real time and historic data, latest update adds significant functionality, alerts etc

Great air quality app!. One thing I don’t like about this app is that I have to turn off my VPN to see results. I am subscribed to remove ads and I wish that there were no VPN blocks. I’m using ProtonVPN

Great App. Love the Siri support. Clean and easy to use. Compiles crowd sourced data and official data.

Info is wrong. EPA Victoria has Melbourne’s air quality as unhealthy right now and this app is showing it as “good” and it’s actively recommending outdoor activities! That’s worse than useless but is actually dangerous.

Would be awesome if.... There was a corner complication for the infographic watch face as well

It's good but it freezes often recently. I like this app but recently it's been freezing everytime I open it. It tries to load and it doesn't end up loading, just freezes. So I have to delete the app and download it again

Nice looking app, data only updates once a day. Data only updates once a day at 5:00am, making it wildly inaccurate, real shame.

AQI misleading due to abundance of stations that do not actually exist. This review is for Australia. I’m not sure how state monitors are added elsewhere. Here AirMatters has decided to add a government monitoring station for every suburb and locality. This is despite these monitoring stations not existing. This means if I’m located closer to a suburb centre than a community device the readings will be waaaaay off. As there are only a handful of community devices in my region this happens more often than not. I’ve deleted this app and started using AirCare instead. It’s a shame because AirMatters has a superior user experience. But that’s pointless if the data is wrong.

Latest version crashes. Solid app generally but latest versions have been crashing constantly on my iPhone. Can you please look into this as I’m trying to use the app regularly in Australia

Pollution guide. Invaluable tool for those living in Beijing. Provides valuable insight into the pollution which often cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Only Some of the Time?. An app that decides it will only work part of the time, specifically when the government says it can, isn't terribly useful. When it self-censors the Embassy data it continues to report the "imaginative" Chinese government data, however. At least there are alternatives now.

No English Version!. Why has the English version been abolished? I cannot read Chinese but use the app regularly. I can figure out what happens to the air since I have only put on one city, when the names were still in English. However, I cannot read the detail. Please put some English back!!

Bug. Keeps resetting my notification settings...

Useful. Good app

It directs my daily activity these days in Beijing. Sine I'm living in Beijing, I use it everyday first thing in the morning to determined if I needed to wear a mask or if I can exercise for the day. Great App!

Very neat. An clean interface. Does the job. Not sure where the data comes from zo...

good. 非常有帮助。

Crashes every time I connect. The app was working, now it crashes every time I open it up with my phone over wifi and try to access the connected unit to check its status and why the purifier isn’t running anymore and the purifier hasn’t run in days. What a waste of $350 and to just have a unit that doesn’t work properly and to hand over your personal info because they require you to sign up via social media and agree to their terms and conditions.

Keep bouncing. This update sucks. Keep bouncing can’t open the app

???. Doesn't work everywhere.

Good app. Good app

Great App. Keeps me informed about the pollution condition in Beijing with maps showing the area where I'm in.

Useful. A++

Just Air quality gauge, not allergens &. Doesn’t work for Canada. Spins on city search, says cannot connect to a server. All other apps having no problem to connect...perhaps an oddity here but disappointing

AQ Index Standard keeps changing. While I live in Canada, I prefer the US standard (AQI) but it keeps flipping to the Canadian standard (AQHI). A reading of 8 is possible on both indexes where I live but means a completely different thing.

Cities not updating. Since last update, app will not show air quality results for any cities but Beijing and Shanghai

Good and very useful. Very useful app

App of Quality. Do what it is supposed to do and does it very well. I like the follow me and show the closest stations.

Great app. Simple, fast, great UI. Would be nice to see air quality for other major Asian or Western cities for comparison.

Love this app!. My daughter went to china and I review this app everyday to see how clean/dirty the city she is in at the time.

Not accurate. Updated review (2022): It’s burning season here again in Thailand so back to checking out this app and…it’s still too inaccurate to be useful. The AQI reported in this app is routinely 1/2 or even 1/3 the real reading, at least in my city (Chiang Mai, Thailand). The watch complication is useful, but not with faulty data. The IQAir app is more reliable. It seems to me that this app just has too few data sources and some of the ones it has are always reporting incorrect numbers (AQIThai, for example). This brings down the average reading for the whole region. The app itself and the Apple Watch support are good, I just wish they would fix their data sources (or allow me to choose which data sources to allow).

The best. If you are looking for an app to track air quality, look no further. Would be great if you guys manage to add Macau to your app.

Very useful and easy.. Clean and simple user interface. Does what it says. Love it.

Nice App. I like it. Use it for everyday.

Excellent app. Very easy to use; good coverage

Useful when traveling in China. Not sure of the accuracy but I find it useful when traveling in China. Helps we decide if I need my mask or not.

Not working on 13.1.3. Great app! But crashes every time on 13.1.3...

Good. Good

Thank you for this great app!. My health appreciates it very much!

Great!. It would be even better if we could find PM2.5 info of other countries!

They don't care. All that matters for the Chinese is money

Good. Useful!

Good. Very useful

Useful app!. Interesting and pertinent information about the pollution levels in China!

Everything I want to know about air quality. Easy use

啦啦. 5啦咯啦咯啦咯啦咯

Good APP!. Very useful app.

Crashes. App won’t open. It crashes immediately upon trying to open.

China air quality. Helps us decide whether to wear a mask or not! Very useful

Incredible. Use this every day to make calls about what we'll do or not do. Clean, simple, humble. Design is beautiful. If you live in China, buy this app. Do it.

Useful. Beautiful interface

Genius app. Absolutely amazing!! In my book, these guys should be hailed as heroes.

I. ,

Valuable app while living in China. Perfect app to quickly and automatically get updated on the latest air quality everywhere in china. Much needed.

Superior. Fantastic app. I consult it everyday before I head out the door!

Not real time information. Great app with lots of info and a good map BUT the data is a few hours old, this is not helpful when conditions are changing so fast right now.

Wow- the air is full of microscopic monsters!. This app is a breath of fresh air. It cuts through the smog and delivers the truth. Who knew 'safe breathing' was a thing of the present? Get this app, it could save your lungs, your health...maybe even YOUR LIFE ;0)

Great APP!. Best air quality APP ever

Rating. Simple yet very realistic app.

Good quality. This is necessary for people who have family in China. Please refresh more data of Canada cities.

Does exactly what it should. Does exactly what it should. Displays historical data in a clear and convenient way. Appreciate being able to access locations all around the world.

Air quality index app, 8.8.18. Pretty good app, just haven’t figured out how to replace the cities that automatically come with the app to the ones that I live near.

Reflection. Excellent source of data. Appreciate the opportunity to review the information provided in this app. Thanks, EH

Excellent App but Notifications Issue. Excellent app! Fills a real need for severe hay fever sufferers, asthmatics, etc. My only issue is I cannot get notifications to work with latest iOS on iPhone 11 Pro.

Completely inaccurate. There is visible smoke in the air actually reducing visibility, my wife is coughing and choking from an asthma attack but this app insists the air quality is good. The other weather apps and even the news is saying there is an air quality warning but I guess it’s all in the imagination, unless this app is crap.

accurate pollen data. i've tried several apps and most don't have data at all for eastern europe or have insufficient data this one gave me accurate data: looking back at last week history i see a decrease in pollen exactly on the day i felt better

I am deleting this app as it is not accurate. The pollen count either does not register or is very low compared to the real counts. I emailed support over a week ago and never heard back. I can no longer recommend this app. It is dangerous for people like myself with severe allergies and asthma as it is unreliable.

Am I losing it?. Wasn’t there a search function for adding new locations in prior versions? The new dropdown menu is idiotic. I have to know what county a city is in?? Or Am I just not seeing it?

Few bugs. Forecast has been inaccurate. Data isn’t updating to the Apple Watch often enough so the numbers are off.

Great for fire season. This app is great especially with all the wildfires. I love the map so I know where I can go hiking or travel to.

One stop shop. So far best app I've been able to find

Great app with room for better integration. I am using this app with Philips 2000i. Only bug that I can see is the notification for pre-filter cleaning that stays on even after a cleaning.

So inaccurate it’s useless. The AQI at my house right now according to Purple Air is 260 due to the California wildfires. Air Matters just sent me a text that the AQI is 76. California has the worst air quality in the entire world right now, and this app is so inaccurate it’s worse than useless; it’s dangerous. If you have it on your phone delete it immediately.

forecast is always wrong. This app has been helpful to me but the forecast always says the same thing and is wrong. This whole week the air in SF has been unhealthy or very unhealthy and every day the forecast said “moderate” for the next day.

Where’s Mask Man?. Just restored iOS on a new phone, and Mask Man icon is gone. Bring back Mask Man and I’ll change to 5 stars.

Wrong. When comparing this app to local pollen and air quality news and reports, it’s completely off. It’s windy today, blowing dirt and pollens everywhere. Local numbers show high pollen which makes sense because my lungs hurt and I’m coughing. It only happens when the weather is like this. This app shows green levels.

On-off capability. I want to use my Apple Watch to turn Phillips air cleaners on and off. Also to set air cleaner’s mode.

Doesn’t work with VPN. App doesn’t work properly when I’m on VPN. Is it because you are a China company? Is my data even secure on your China server? Also please get rid of the “share screenshot” pop up, it’s so annoying! Just because I take screenshots doesn’t mean I want to share them!

need be improved. It cannot update air quality status asap.

New Update stopped it from working !. Please fix! Since update a few days ago now the app doesn't work at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. I rely on this app so please fix this bug!!! Once fixed I will change my review because this was a five star app.

What is going on -no data??. I’ve been using this app for over a year and it’s always been really good but lately there’s no data for any of the cities around me. In fact there’s not much data for the entire south east of the United States. Not much use if I can’t see data.

Pollen counts inaccurate. A visually appealing app but the pollen figures reported are way off. It has shown low to medium pollen levels the last few days whereas official NC DAQ reports for same area show high pollen levels. It’s a nice looking app but I need accurate pollen levels so I will look for another app.

Gosh. It works.. It does what’s it’s described to do, accurately and with little disruption from ads. Thank you!

Would be five stars except…. For some unfathomable reason Air Matters mistakes Burbank, Ca for San Jose,,CA. If you fix this I would give Air Matters five stars, but having an unremovable and undesired city at the top of my list is unacceptable.

App no longer works. Was a good app until the update two days ago. Now the app loads on an iPhone 7 plus under iOS 11 and then immediately aborts. Nothing seems to work - this app seriously needs an urgent fix.

Not accurate. I like that it has apple watch complication but it says my area is only 95 right now when PurpleAir and other air reports online say 158. That's way off!

Great app. Let me know instantly how the air quality around me.

Where is the explanation of red heat zones?. I cannot find anywhere what the red heat zones indicate where AQIs are not high due to fires. Does anyone know? I’ve asked the App, but no response yet. Also- their data differs from EPA and other noted apps. How can someone know which one to trust as accurate???

Buggy as hell. I live in Beijing and would like to depend on this app to give me accurate readings on the air-quality, but half the time I try to use it, I get incorrect numbers and connection errors. I really like the design, using it is somewhat disappointing.

One star. Doesn’t actually filter air

Widget does not update. I am using saved-places widget, but it does not update at all. It seems to update once after device reboot, and then stays in the same values...

Not so up to date. it shows a number of the aqi level of where you are when you first open the app e.g.58 but when you press to know more details about the information then it shows an updated number which is usually higher.

Way off. This app is not accurate in the least! It’s giving me a reading of 104 right now. And my Davis AirLink is reading 10.3. While my other app “Air Quality” is reading 15.

Doesn’t show your city in the list. Lahore was the 2nd worst polluted city and it doesn’t show in the list at all. Also can’t add other cities on your main page.

App crashes. On iOS 9 after the update. Have been using it several times every day, but can't just open it now. No notifications coming in either. Please fix!

Fail to log 8 hrs of data. For some reason it does not show the bar graphs as before. When I add new locations to my list, none include bar graphs. When I deleted a current location and brought it back, no bar graph. I assume they want money to see them. $$$

Great app. Small, accurate, perfect for the intended use. As a doctor specializing in patient headache pain I correlate AQI with occurrence. This app makes it so easy to note and record.

This app is a must have. Simple and useful for air quality health

This app has become useless. Non functional and clunky. Why force people to keep the nearest location even when it doesn’t even have the data to report air quality?

Fantastic. I have to say that I rarely, if ever write a review but this app is one of the best apps I’ve ever used and purchased. Outstanding quality in every regard.

Interesting. It will not allow me to get information about where I live. I knows where I live but the app has chosen a place 45 plus minutes away as my location. Tried everything but can not fix. Very annoying.

Saved locations won’t stay. Updated to ios16.4 and now my saved locations disappear after closing. When I open app, I get several global cities I have no interest in. I add my desired locations again but they disappear when app is reopened.

Please fix the watch app!!!. Complication does not work after watch os update. Please fix!

Forecast is nearly useless. The AQI has been over 150 last few days. However, the forecast in this area has been around 50 during the same period.

Seems a little incorrect. Data on the website this app gets its metric from says 161 in my area in the Bay Area today. This app says it’s 8. I feel like something is wrong here.

Lost My Places. Lost my places after updating to iOS 17.0 and can not save new places unless using “Hey Siri”

Data doesn’t update and stays as it was months ago. It is now April, and my app always shows data from December. Why is it missing its most basic feature — an update to current conditions? This makes the entire app useless.

Best air app. This is the most comprehensive air quality index app I’ve found. Excellent detail, the map works great, and I love the world wide information.

Good tool to have. I live in an area with bad air quality especially in the summer. It’s nice to know I can measure this quality using Air Matters. Thank you.

Unstable Watch App. I like the user interface of this app, but it doesn't work well. After some time, the app stops updating and it fills up the analytics data with crashes.

Settings sync doesn’t work. Can’t sign in to Apple or Google, thus cannot use remove-ad feature I purchased. Got the same “network failure” error on my phone and iPad. Please fix it and I will give five stars.
