rrm. No sound on this or on “The Great Pumpkin” app. Tried ALL of the troubleshooting tips - none worked. Accidentally deleted Great Pumpkin trying to fix it. Bought this, Great Pumpkin, and Thanksgiving last year and they all worked. I want to use them in my classroom and I can’t now. I also want Great Pumpkin back, free of charge.

Crashes on iOS 11. Cute app and stickers. However, considering it's $5, it would be great if the app were updated for modern iOS versions and devices. The story book app crashes without fail on iOS 11 on an iPhone X. Simply try to pull down the red bookmark tab and the app should hang and crash. (App is also not formatted for iPhone X real estate obviously.) Works fine on iOS 10 on iPhone 7 and iPad Pro however.

This app is amazing. I received this app as a Starbucks freebie years ago. I do not have small children but I love this app. Sometimes in life you just you take a step back and reflect on the meaning of it all. Who better than Charlie Brown and friends to remind you.

Starbucks freebie!. I got this app for free from one of those monthly Starbucks freebies in the store, I grabbed the little card and installed it. I had no idea how expensive this app was let alone how amazing it would be. I reinstall it every year around the holidays because I love Charlie Brown and the Christmas story! I absolutely love it!

Perfect for Christmas.. I bought this app when my son was 2. He enjoyed the music and moving characters. Now he can read and every year we return to this story. Perfect. Thank you Mr. Schultz.

Charlie brown text message sticker app rip off. Very disappointed, not even one sticker? I spent $4.99 on this and there are no instructions. Went through all the trouble to contact the maker and owner of the app just to fill out all the boxes and have a say you cannot send a message try again later. Charming and interactive. This is a really lovely app. So much to do and see. With the update, you also get adorable animated stickers for iMessage, (only 1 is actually a Christmas sticker, but that's nice for the rest of the year). Highly recommend!!!

A Charlie Brown Christmas = Love. I love the Loud Crow apps. I have The Peanuts and the Beatrix Potter. They worked well, but since the iOS 10.2 update, none of the apps had any sound on my iPad, although they all had sound on my iPhone 7. They now work fine, after reading that the side button on the iPad needs to be unmuted. Thanks for the awesome and fun stickers! 💕

Charlie Brown. I’ve always enjoyed Charlie Brown. I like the app. I just can’t find the stickers that I’m suppose to be able to send to people. I also don’t have sound.

Audio needs Alert sounds -on-. This app was last optimized for iOS 9 according to the version notes. It was last updated in 2018. The audio only works on iOS 14 if your alert sounds are turned on. I tried both my iPad and iPhone

I love this app, except one thing. I love this app, probably one of my favorites. The only problem is I cannot find one of the hidden ornaments! I’ve been through the pages countless times, tapped on everything I could see, and still cannot find the little football ornament with the hint “maybe Lucy can give you some advice”. Someone help! Otherwise, no complaints. The visual effects, the narration and the music are all great! My kids love this app too!

Love this app + Thanks for the stickers!. I was surprised today after reinstalling this app, since last Dec, to see it came with stickers pack for messaging! This pack is even better than the one I paid for. To anyone who buys this great app, be sure to go to your text message area and load the stickers. Some people are still unaware of how to do that and fault the stickers apps. That is sad that people blame the app. You have to read the directions on info on sticker packs or google it.

Too Cute!. I downloaded this for the Stickers. I really wanted Snoopy dancing . . . it's perfect! And I discovered the digital book to go with it. It stays true to the actual Charlie Brown Christmas show that we all know and love, with little interactive objects, etc. It's a fun time.

The stickers move. That’s all I cared about. Do the stickers move are they animated. They do! The stickers are animated well, and cute. Not just flashing left or parts disappear & re-appear, actual beagle dancing! Than you. <3

Definitely the best interactive book I have found so far. Fantastic. Keeps my 3-year-old grandadaughter amused for over an hour at a time. Love the interactive tree decorating and the idea that some decorations are locked and you have to earn them by completing tasks within the book. Wish there were more like this one.

Cute. Quite nice, but it needs an in game way to reset the achievements other than deleting and reinstalling. It's a bit cumbersome when there are multiple children wanting to have a turn.

Bringing Peanuts to the kids. Great app to introduce the kids to an old favorite. This isn't on every year here, unlike the "olden days", so I am taking this sound to introduce or reintroduce a classic Christmas story. Good app... Something new to discover almost every reading.

Loud Crow do it again. I have all of Loud Crow's interactive books. My 3 year old LOVES them - and yes a Christmas app is just perfect at this time of year. If you are looking for the non religious app, this ain't it - but then again, what about Christmas is expected to be non-religious? It's Charlie Brown and it brought a smile to my face watching my son enjoy on the iPad what I enjoyed 30 + years ago as a child on the TV. Well done.

Not worth it.. Nothing worth being a dedicated app for really. Short, one dimensional story with religious theme. Seven dollars worth of hard copy classic peanuts has more substance.

Below average effort. Ultimately feels commercially driven and even manipulative: one short story, definitely overpriced and under achieving in its interactivity.

An old favorite!. This is a great app. Takes you thru the whole cartoon. It has a bookmark, but a chapter index would have made this perfect. Good Grief!

Good..but. I thought this was a fantastic app, and my kids liked it, even though they don't really know Peanuts. However..I thought it was way too expensive. And they need extra hints at the end for unlocking the tree ornaments, we are stuck on one. I kinda thought I would get more for the price.

Simply Lovely. I have always been a huge fan of The Peanuts Gang. I watch their specials every year, I have a couple picture books, and a couple cartoon/comic books. I was so excited to hear about the interactive books! I bought this one and The Great Pumpkin. They are both amazing. The only trouble I have is in this one the piano is a bit glitchy. It doesn't register when I press the keys all the time. The Great Pumpkin does NOT have this problem. Aside from that, I would definitely but this again! :)

Cute. Charlie Brown has to be my favourite Christmas special so when I saw this i knew I had to buy it. It's not the most entertaining app but it's really cute and fun. It has all the voices from the special and there are a few games you can play although they kind of get boring pretty quickly. It's all about the story for me and the real meaning of Christmas so i'm happy with my purchase and i'm usually someone who very rarely pays for apps.

Half and half !. App is very well made and usefull for children. I think it's a bit overpriced. I also had a constant crashing problem. Instructions for the game are not clear.

No music, no narration. I got this app quite a while ago but all sounds quit working long ago. I've been hoping updates would have fixed the problem but no joy therefore I can't recommend this app. The kids are certainly disappointed.

Pure awesome - a great way to introduce my kids to the tradition!. My 2 and 7 year olds love it, and so do I. They really captured the spirit and feel of the show. So worth the money, and so much fun, particularly if you grew up with the show and have kids of your own now.

The ultimate Christmas tradition. I've been watching this movie every Christmas Eve for well over 20 years, and haven't missed a year. The moment Thanksgiving comes, I've got The Vince Gauraldi Trio playing on my stereo. Just when I think it couldn't get any better, I downloaded the Charlie Brown Christmas app. This is a must have application that makes the Christmas experience complete. You don't get sick of it, especially when you know you get to unlock new ornaments for your very own tree! Don't sell yourself short, please buy this app. Perfect for kids and adults, and even those in their late 20s that have made Charlie Brown an essential part of their holiday spirit.

App crashes on iPhone X. Sadly the app of the day doesn’t work.

Enjoyed it, but.... I would give it 5 stars of it had the whole story. For $4.99, it should include Sally talking about Santa giving her tens and twenties. And Frieda talking about her naturally curly red hair. See, anyone who loved the show remembers those little details. Update for new version: Thank you for adding scenes. In fact they just rebroadcast the show on tv tonight and left out the scenes with kids catching snowflakes on tongues, and Linus using his blanket to knock down cans. Scandal!! And these are scenes you just added! Now if only you could add all the scenes on the show. I know it's nitpicking, but I will pay extra, just like I did for the new scenes. I don't care it's worth it.

Wonderful!. I don't know why there are so many complaints about this book! It works just fine. I have sound. Check your setting as well as when you open the app look on the record player for the sound options. This book does more than just read it to you! Click on the pictures. They are animated. You can play the theme song on the piano and also decorate the tree! You have to unlock more options at the end to do more! This is SO WORTH THE MONEY!

No menu for settings worse yet- No sound!. Got the app a couple of years ago and revisited it again this Christmas because of the 50 year anniversary update I got - see a cute record player with settings on it for on/off and sound level. I have it set to on and set at top of sound level and voilà ! Guess what - no sound! I deleted it and reloaded it to "reset" the app, checked the only "settings" I can see and guess what voilà no sound. Tapped all over the app to trigger a menu for othe settings and guess what - no menu pops up even tho there is a screen shot in the App Store for this app showing a menu! What's up with that??

Sound problem fix and iPad 1 Crash. This might fix your sound problems. 1.) Open the Settings app. 2.) Go to the General section. 3.) Find the section labeled, "Use Side Switch to:" 4.) Select "Mute" 5.) Toggle the side switch up and down a couple times. The last toggle should be in the up position (unmuted). 6.) Back to the settings, select "Lock Rotation" 7.) Close Settings and give the game another try. I occasionally have to do this with my iPad 1 running iOS 5.0.1. No idea if iPad 2's exhibit this same behavior. The theory behind this fix is that even if your iPad is already set to "Lock Rotation" the "Mute" functionality seems to remember the switch setting before it was set to "Lock Rotation" As for the app itself, it crashes frequently on an iPad 1. Thankfully, I can reopen the app and navigate to the last page I was on. Annoying, but was still able to get through the entire app. A fix would definitely make this special app all the more special. Without the crashes, I'd give this top-notch app a full 5 star rating.

A Charlie Brown Christmas. Nice app, but I'm a little mad that I purchased it for $2.99 and when it started downloading it stopped and said it was 'being adjusted, come back later'; when I came back it was $3.99. Still, so far it was worth the price, basically a book-like version of the television special. Some nice interactions on the pages like making snowflakes and shooting stars, and moving the characters. Having fun with some of the extras like photos with the characters and decorating trees, but can't easily find the games the app description talks about.

Wow. I was put off by some of the reviews saying how this was a "basic" or "cheap" app with no substance, but I decided to give it a try anyway an I'm glad I did. Those reviews were way off the mark. This interactive book is about as all-inclusive as you can get. It is filled with the original music, artwork, and voice acting from the cartoon, as well as narration by the guy who voiced Charlie Brown in the original show (all grown up, of course). Well worth the money, especially when you consider what these guys probably had to shell out to license all the content they used. Very well done.

Great. My child loves this

Snuggle together and enjoy. Here is a great opportunity to snuggle on that couch together with your children by the tree and read and experience a wonderful story. It's interactive, it reads along or you can read on your own and the best, the music. Instead of just watching the story, you can actually be a part of it. I loved watching my child sit and read with Grand mom. They sat together and read it a few times and then Grand mom read it on her own. she really had fun. A great use of technology. I would also recommend the Great Pumpkin, it was terrific too. This was money well spent. Merry Christmas everyone.

It's cute, but hard to navigate.. I love this story. The problem with this interactive book is it's hard for kids to use. There is no way to easily click back to the beginning of the book, or the end for that matter. Once you start the story, you have to go through the whole thing to get back to the option for decorating the tree. We can't find any of the other games, so I'm guessing we would have to buy them. I don't like any book that encourages kids to buy more features. It seems especially wrong in a story that is based upon finding the true meaning of Christmas, rather than commercializing it.

Almost Perfect. I love the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, and this app is a faithful recreation of it - right down to the narrator who was the original voice of Charlie Brown! That said, it's missing just a few things from the special - the full musical soundtrack of Vince Guiraldi, moments of the children singing - that keep it from I a full five star rating. That said, I would highly recommend this app over the other Loudcrow children's books, for the little surprises throughout (including the chance to win an iPad) and for the wonderful tribute it pays to the season and this special.

Not sure why it has such amazing reviews. i thought the app has very interactive features but if a child was to use this storybook app, it would be totally confusing. The fact that you have to tap the arrow to start the in-app narration (there was absolutely no clue on how to use this either) and trying to get furthur down in the story takes almost a century is ridiculous. i just want to get to page 7 and it takes like a decade because theres no way to actually skip pages (at least I haven't been able to. I was reading the story to two different kids and it was just impossible to get to the point in the story that I was at). Of course, I also didn't realize that to turn the music/narration on/off was actually at the opening screen was another thing that just proves bad design. So much of what i was trying to do with this app was solved through constant trial-and-error. It really should not take that much time to figure out a storybook app in my opinion

Simple and unassuming as it is, we'll all depart this life perhaps just a wee bit richer for having shared it's simple joys as a people -- as a planet. I once had the pleasure of dining with Lee Mendelssohn and thank him for the totality of his career, and especially "CBX". Wow.. This is an incredible app, especially if you are a big fan of the original. The first thing you will notice right away is the high quality of this app. If you're anything like me, I'm sure you install a few apps a week, be it productivity apps (iWork), the top notch games (Cover Orange, Angry Birds Rio, Machinarium). The quality of this app is immediately noticed without even opening the first page of the little book. This app is also 100% authentic. This literally is the very same A Charlie Brown Christmas special from the 60's, only you can enter the show and interact with the characters and environments. Really amazing when you have grown up watching the special every year for 40 years. I actually teared up watching Linus' Christmas speech, and then interacted with that scene with my fingers (turning the spotlight on and off etc.). Having the narration done by the original Charlie Brown is the icing on the cake and reaffirms the authenticity of this app. All in all, this is a very special little app that I will treasure above all the rest, and since iCloud exists, it's nice to know I'll have it forever. If you're a fan of the original and you pass on this app, it's your loss - and it's a BIG loss. Trust me, give yourself a special Christmas present and install this little gem.

Please fix iMessage stickers. Please make the iMessage stickers have a white outline that way it’ll show up in dark mode. If fixed I’d give 5 stars

Great! For ALL AGES. This is a great app for all ages. Since this story IS Christmas for myself and so many in my generation I loved the little I traction features in this beloved story! Plus ALL my kids thought it was fun for their own reasons, from the 8th to the 29 yr old! This is one story where it is definitely not only OK but actually encouraged for you to play with the pictures! My youngest has been enjoying it in the car when we are shooing this season. Definitely worth every penny and the extra optioons as well!

Christmas a thousand miles away from home.: this app makes it feel like Christmas!. I am currently living in Nepal, on the other side of the world from my family and when I found this app of my favorite book ever I had to get it right away. It is Christmas eve here right now, a day ahead of home in Sandwich, New Hampshire, USA and I was feeling very down and then I listened/read this book. What a wonderfully animated and narrated book! The music, the original voices, everything, makes it the perfect holiday addition. Thank you for saving my Christmas eve!

A true Christmas App classic.. I Downloaded this app for a dollar and after using this app I would have paid more because it's that good. This is the kind of quality and dedication you should expect from all apps. If you love the classic tradition of Charlie Brown Christmas then you'll fall in love with this app. It's Interactive for kids of all ages so you will find yourself retelling this Christmas classic every year. I highly recommend this app as a story, Interactive game and nostalgic classic that will warm your heart and remind you what Christmas is all about.

What Christmas Is Really About. Beautiful book. Amazing interactions. I've "read" (well actually I keep letting Charlie Brown read it to me) at least a dozen times and still am finding new hidden things to do. The newest addition to the book which was free, extends the story and fills out some of the previous pages. It's absolutely just too much fun - for all ages. I noticed that some have whined about the price, but I personally think its priced low for the quality and highly recommend it for Peanuts fans of all ages!

Books will never be the same!. When I got this app, I didn't expect much- just another book app- but was I surprised by how wrong I was! Not just another book app, but an interactive, immersive, entertaining book app. All the details that went into designing this book will surprise and delight people of all ages for many years to come! I highly recommend this! What a great way to get everyone to huddle close together as the fire blazes and the Christmas tree twinkles for a delightful story time!

Not the movie and no app stickers. What a waste of money. Not the movie and no extras talked about in the other review. Took me for $2.99. I deleted the app.

Even better than I expected.... I am a HUGE fan of the TV special, so I was hesitant to pay full price for this app. There are just so many ways they could have screwed it up. But it's AWESOME! Perfectly captures the spirit of the special while getting the whole story in. Most of my favorite lines are in there, all pulled straight from the soundtrack. (With only two minor exceptions that I could hear: Shermy and Pigpen.) This app is truly a heartwarming take on the original classic. No, it's not a game, it's a book. And if you didn't grow up with the TV special then: 1) that cave you lived in must have been cold and lonely and 2) this app probably won't knock your socks off. But if Christmas just isn't Christmas for you without good ol' Charlie Brown, then you need to buy this one NOW. And then... perhaps a tree! A great, big, shiny, aluminum Christmas tree!

Literally perfect. I never write reviews but I just couldn't resist for this one. I have been a Charlie Brown fan for as long as I can remember and when I saw this app I was hesitant, but this is truly my favorite app ever. It's such a perfect blend of the original book and the movie. The interactions are a lot of fun, and it really feels like you're sitting around a fire watching or listening to the original movie. I never pay for apps more than .99 but this was absolutely worth every penny. 5 star all the way

Delightful. Delightful! This 40-something-year-old thoroughly enjoyed previewing the book as a possibility to treat my kiddos at school with (and my teenager, as well). When I got to the Peanuts song, my husband suggested I turn it up so that he could listen, too, and we both laughed and smiled our way through the rest of the book. Linus's meaning of Christmas could have even been a great visual aid for our pastor this morning at church. The memories and the well done kid friendly touches make it well worth it.

Please update!. Please update for new iOS. I love this app, but with no audio it's pretty useless. Fix it and it’s 5 stars!

So sweet!!. Brings back memory's!!!

Great but crashes with every page turn. I got this on my 1st gen iPad which for the record is pretty clean, not a lot of apps, lots of free memory and not abused in any way. I'm running running iOS5. About half way through the story, reading it to my kids (it's cool you can turn off the narration to make it more like reading a book) every time I turned a page the app would crash and my iPad would go back to the home screen. I could relaunch the app and use the bookmark to continue where I left off but again, the next time I turned the page, crash. My 5 year old son got really good at quickly relaunching the app but it really took away from this app. Otherwise the images/graphics/audio quality and the options of narration and music levels and the level of interactivity IMHO were great and exactly what I wanted out of this app. Now fix that crashing bug. :-/

Very Interactive. Although it took us a bit to figure out everything you could do with this app, that seemed to make it all the more fun. My only real complaint is the cost. I'd happily pay $4.99 for this app, but you end up paying 8.98 to get the app and all of the tree decorations. That being said the app was very enjoyable, and our family loved reading the story; playing with the characters; and decorating the tree. We'd buy this app all over again. Of course we'd still complain about the price. Enjoy!

Excellent for the season!. I had no problem with sound as others have had. Great app, and to use the original voice of Charlie Brown (Peter Robbins) as narrator was a nice touch. Easy to navigate except for the Christmas package puzzle/game at the end; but I'll figure it out eventually. I wish there was a guide/instructions. If you love Christmas and Charlie Brown you'll love this app. Get it now! Lots of fun. “Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. Just beautiful!. Absolutely charming, maintains the warmth of the television special. Exact audio from the special, original Vince Guaraldi background music (audio is working fine on my ipad2.) Ignore the naysayers who claim this is too simple - I cannot imagine what they expect. Just beautifully done with creative little interactions thrown in. In my opinion, this would have been a great bargain even at $10! If you love the special, you'll love this app! Will definitely become a part of our Christmas tradition with our children.

Need help with the "this doghouse really lights it up" hint. This game is incredible! It brings out something I loved as a child and gives it to my child in a modern way that makes him love it just as much. Need help, though. He's been playing it for day's and is really starting to get upset that he can't unlock the last "hint" that says "this doghouse really lights it up". I looked at it for a while but couldn't figure it out. Could someone help me help him unlock the last hint so he can enjoy the rest that the game has to offer?

Never goes out of style. A Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic . Now to have it as an interactive book shows how timeless it is. For those that think it's not worth what you pay...I'm guessing they didn't do the interactions with the book. There are hidden things that give rewards if found. Find them all and earn a prize. Some of them unlock tree decorations. Decorate the tree at the beginning of each read to customize how the tree will look in the story. Move your iPad and the ornaments move with you. After letting the narrator read, tap the characters to get more dialog. It's great fun even for the inner child that lives in all of us. Thanks for bringing them back to us! One request. That the pages turn a little more smoothly when swiped.

No sound..... The book and graphics is great but... there is no sound...!

Such fun!. Was disappointed because of no sound. Wrote to support and got some suggestions. I-pad screen lock vs. mute was not the issue. I was able to figure out that a recent i Pad software upgrade put in some Multi tasking functions. When I turned them off...never use them anyway....the record player began playing that great music. The interactive elements on the various pages are fun for any age. Can't wait to sit with a child and be read this special story. Even without a child, the child in us will be quite content. Thanks.

AMAZING APP!!!. I can't even begin to put in to words how awesome and well done this app is. It may seem far fetched and no I'm not a dev! I downloaded it and from the other comments was expecting mediocre. I was totally surprised that all 4 of my kids from 3-12 were drawn into the experience. I'm totally new to these books, so here's a little of what it does. The book is narrated at parts and has the original voices from all the characters, it's like watching the cartoon on tv only better. The book is totally interactive, move the characters, touch the snow falling, play the piano, whatever you do there is a response. Turn off the narration and read it by yourself or have it read to you. My 3 year old doesn't sit still for anything, she was totally drawn in to the book and didn't want to put it down. WELL DONE! EXCELLENT BOOK!

This is what a children's book on the iPad is supposed to be.. I LOVE this app. It's the entire episode from the television show, told in an interactive pop-up book style. There are small games to play and lots of small treats to "unlock" for those who want a bit of a challenge. I plan to share this great story with my nephew in front of a fireplace as we snack on warm cookies after a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. This app is the perfect way to spend a half hour with characters telling a great story and with a special little guy who gets to hear this story as he touches his way through it. And we'll both hear the meaning of Christmas, beautifully told Charles Shultz's kids.
