Pretty sure I own every iOS looper out there and this is the best for my needs. Let me explain.. I’ve been using this app for easily over five years. It was one of the first ones I bought when I started making music on my iPad. I have to admit that I have come back to the App Store and read these poor reviews about loopy and it’s made me think that maybe there something disappointing about the program that I am not experiencing personally. Nope! This app is so good and so easy to use and integrates easily into any other program that’s want to use it in. I very rarely stray to another. It’s so good! My demands are pretty high as Loopy performs beautifully every time. It’s one app that never lets me down. I love being able to improvise a set of vocal loops and export them directly into what ever daw I’m working in. I love the way you use the app. It doesn’t take me out of the zone!

Best Looper Ever (Still). Sorry wanted to counter some of the hate this app has gotten - so a heads up - this is my second review. This is still the best looper on the market - whether you're talking hardware or software. To those who find it difficult to understand / interact with - please look into the myriad midi mapping options this app offers! You can control almost every single parameter via custom mappings - turning this into a ridiculously strong hardware looper. I think the biggest learning curve for this app is understanding how the various loops are synced - and the sync settings themselves are highly configurable so that can add another layer of confusion. I love turning off the automatic loop length setting, allowing you to make loops on the fly of any length (that's a multiple of the initial loop) - this way everything stays in sync (when you close a loop loopy will wait to the next appropriate end - can be set to a beat or a bar) but you don't necessarily have to know how long the loop will be in advance (this is actually a very rare feature in loopers - many loopers will let you set an initial loop length and then that's it for all other subsequent loops). Anyways you only get out of this app what you put in and it does require some learning to understand the workflow, but trust me when I say that this is hands down the best looper out there (well you don't have to trust me but you can if you want, idk y'all do you).

Best Looper Ever. This app is incredible. I use it with the iRig BlueBoard. I wish the BlueBoard had at least 6 buttons, but this review isn’t about the BlueBoard, it’s about Loopy. I will say that getting Loopy set up took a LOT of experimenting. I like to Start and Stop my loops with ONE TAP OF MY FOOT and Loopy can do that, but I had to dig deep to find all of the right modes and such for the buttons. Live performances are easy to manage now. I also use the iRig HD2 to get my audio into and out of the iPad. If I could ask for one other thing in Loopy... can we PLEASE have some more choices for the metronome sounds? Like maybe a few basic drum patterns? Then I wouldn’t have to use up a loop for a drum beat. Great App!!!

Woohoo. A great option as opposed to buying loop equipment! I think that the layout is straightforward and watching a couple tutorial videos and just messing around with it for a few hours got me pretty comfortable with it. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the audio quality when playing back loops or recordings of loops is pretty poor without headphones. Maybe that’s just my iPhone, but that’s my only qualm, otherwise it’s great!

The Life Looper. Hello! First I want to thank Michael for making my singular favorite phone app. I use it in my life and it helps me in a therapeutic way. First I’ll state this: buy this app and support the developer! Okay now that I’ve gotten the advertisement out of the way I would like to suggest what Michael does with all this newfound money and time in regards to Loopy: Please add pitch shifting loops either by transposition or by half speed/double speeding. I’m using IOS 12.5.2 on an IPhone 6. Also extend the number of loops to 24 by adding a second page tab. That’s it! One day I will travel the world with Loopy. Thank you Loopy (and Michael and the development team.)

Awesome!. This is an easy to use app with so many different features. It took some time to figure them out, but the idea of being able to loop any audio and record over it to create a back track or small musical piece (or anything really) is awesome! Definitely recommend to musicians looking to quickly put together a raw musical idea and looking to refine their natural talent (Other than reverb, no huge audio manipulation is available on the app (that I know of), so by using the app you can strengthen your pre-existing talent and style). The only thing I find myself wishing was added is tempo/specific start/cutoff points for more cleaner loops. There might be features I’m missing that do incorporate that though; who knows. Amazing app!

Phenomenal. Been using this app from the beginning and it has never ceased to serve me and my music style. Very well done and concise format and menu. The touch enabled track management is sweet for me. The developer would probably serve even more people if they made a serious AWS with more sound manipulation options. As is, it’s my favorite audio application for a small device like my phone that serves more purpose than just music-making if you put your mind to it. It has helped me in several alternative ways.

Sometimes fidgety, but the most versatile. Some days I prefer everyday looper for the simple fact that releasing my finger is more accurate. Loopy confuses me sometimes too about where in the loop I am, that’s kinda the nature of the loops being little circles going potentially at different rates.. you can lose track. But yes, ultimately this is the most versatile looper on iOS. The swipe gestures are easy to mess up compared to everyday looper, but there’s more space and you can do more things so it’s forgivable.

Simple. I don’t mean that in a bad way. This app is awesome. I can open quickly, set everything up within seconds and start making music. So cool, and a ton of fun. The only thing that is a bit frustrating, the BPM setting is a bit hard to change. Would be nice if you could manually enter the BPM. If you press in the wrong spot, it moves the bpm and can be a bit of a pain to reset. Again, overall, an awesome app!

Loopy HD still rocks after so many years!. Was just using Loopy HD and thought to update my original review to say just how much I still enjoy the app. It's easy to use, simple to figure out, and accessible for users of the VoiceOver screen reader for visually impaired. Nothing short of amazing! I wish I could give this 10 stars!

Excellent app. Professional loop musician here: I'm compelled to leave this review after seeing all these absurd one star reviews from entitled whiners complaining because a) they simply cannot figure out the intricacies of the app or b) they are running an underpowered device that can't keep up with the audio demands. Loopy HD is a deeply customizable app, allowing for amazing levels of tweakability in terms of midi commands. I use mine for live performance of acoustic and keyboard based music a la Ed Sheeran. I loop vocals, guitar, and keys via an interface and all controlled with an fcb1010. Casual iPad users looking for a novelty app need not apply. Musicians/performers looking for pro level audio software, your search is over. However, like every new piece of gear, it will take some time to learn the ins and outs. Not to mention that the creator of the app is actively involved in the forums, responding promptly and helping everyone with issues, including myself. Seriously, Michael is great. Loopy absolutely crushes every hardware looper I've used, and I've used nearly ALL of them. And it easily trumps the other looping apps in the App Store. I would give this app 10 stars if I could.

LOVE. THIS. APP.. I discovered this app a couple years ago now? It’s been a WHILE, but OMG I LOVE all the ways you can play within this space!! I have recommended it to several of my friends who like to sing to themselves as well as to some of my folk who perform on a regular basis to work out vocal and melodic ideas on the fly. For me personally, I’ve been able to create pieces of auditory joy that just add to the richness of what I get to choose from when I want to enjoy something I CREATED, in the same way I would enjoy music from other creators. I love this app

My Most Useful Music App. I’ve been using the Loopy HD app for about 10 years now, and it is my go-too for getting a music creation started. I can use the drum tracks that come with it as a click track, or start my own live. Loopy HD is so easy to use at those times where you know you have an idea, but it won’t be in your mind for much longer. It’s looping ability with the multiple tracks works perfectly. This app works great with other music apps as well to create more ways to fine tune and enhance a song or experiment. Loopy HD is also easily just perfect by itself. I felt it’s about time I leave a review since, I love this app so much. It does rule. -North Tagore

One of the most useful apps for a musician!!. This app has been integrated into my workflow as a songwriter and producer! I’m able to flesh ideas out with my mouth, then later transform and interpret them in my DAW! I’m so glad that this app was created! I can also make loops and run Voice Memos simultaneously. I can play Looper in the background while I record a top line idea in Voice Memos! I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of what this app can do!! If you’re a music producer or singer/songwriter, get this app!!

Best looper app on apple store!. This definitely the best looper I could find for iPhone. Price is great too. It’s worth the money. As a musician this is great for getting song ideas together quickly and on the go. I use my acoustic guitar and it sounds great. The interface and controls are real easy to learn and get used too. My only complaint is the LACK of EFFECTS! :/ Please!!!! Add more effects and the option to add them to already recorded loops and edit parameters. Please find a way to this and I will give 5 stars!!

Irreplaceable Functionality. iPhone only, non-EDM music making is benefitted immensely by the functions of this looper. No other loopers have as intuitive a workflow as this. I find it more effective for assembling acoustic, multi-track (& any other) music than anything else I’ve used on a phone. I’ve played live instruments for over 25 years and this is the closest I can get to the organic process of writing music the old fashioned way - jamming until you hear something good & then make it a song. I deleted this because after deleting all recordings from app, my phone still showed 1gb of data on it. Not the app’s fault. I’m now downloading again because, although I tried, I can’t get the same results from anything else.

The replacement for my 500 dollar looper. I used an rc-300 for many years. It was not as stable as I liked and would regularly stop all audio randomly. I made the switch to loopy and within a few days, have a more capable, stable and flexible looper. Loopy is the brain of my new setup. It takes a while to configure a midi pedal, but thats only because I am overwhelmed by the different possibilities that are now available for my live performances. Even if I end up moving to a different hardware looper, using loopy will have been the thing that helped me get over my fear of change and helps me be more creative in how I perform and use equipment. Thanks you so much for all the great work on this app.

Get it.. Oh wow. I havn't laughed so hard in a long time, and I've never had more fun with an app. Never reviewed one before but this one is special. It's extremely intuitive and simple. If I could add one thing it would be a crop feature for individual samples. ——————————————————————— I guess I wrote this review at some point and never sent it. This app is legendary🎖 I have several absolutely absurd songs that are probably some of my fondest memories. If I could have one app on my phone it would be this one. Not exaggerating. Loopy no customer support!. Great app. However ... I bought the paid version few years back, recommended by my alma matter music school in Boston. I have not used it in a bit. But now that I needed it wants me to buy the pro. All apps that I transitioned back in to have a mode to restore purchases. Even if they sometimes don’t work. Haha. Well app support leads me to the public forums. I can’t find anything about what to do. Am I supposed to buy it again? Apologies ahead of time, but I’ve already spent a couple of hours into this issue. Thank you for your help. Love this app- Great for Musicians of all levels. I perform as a loop artist. I enjoying having the ability to record ideas in this app to recreate later. It’s an amazing performance tool. With an external mic setup, you could definitely use it live. For someone new to looping this is an intuitive start. The ability to change the loop length is so great. I also love the built in reverb for quick recordings with my trumpet!

Easy to learn. I got up to speed very quickly with this innovative looper. I was able to lay down drum tracks and record bass and guitar tracks without spending hours bogged down in learning how to use the program. Terrific program for beginner to intermediate music creators of all genres. Much easier to use than my hardware looper too.

Tough learning curve. As someone new to looping, I’m not sure if I would have helped myself by mastering a foot pedal first. Even though all the online reviewers said they would never go back, I may have benefitted from starting there, because I went in all in on loopy pro and got very frustratied. Now I’m learning the basics with Loopy HD and perhaps in a month or two I’ll be ready for diving into Loopy Pro again. I got very sidetracked by not starting out using an audio interface, and kept getting horrible feedback and latency issues trying to use my AirPods. Took all the fun out of it. We’ll see where I stand in a few weeks. Probably would have helped if there was someone to show me hands on, even though the tutorials are excellent.

So good. There is a learning curve for sure ... but the things you can do one you’ve found your right settings? Wow. I run my choir with it — being able to play parts for learning, or support. I use it as a quick scratch pad for choral composition ideas. I use it to get better at hearing polyrhythms (you can reset the key signature during an existing session and use the metronome to hear the new rhythm.) And paring with a midi controller like the Korg nanoKontrol Studio, or 2 ... gives faders/knobs control for 12 tracks, plus effects tweaks, etc. My friends and I share sessions to add parts to each other’s recordings. It’s great. It’s not perfect. My wishlist includes an undo feature, the ability to search sessions, midi mapping to change time signature, and a midi setting to move through panel pages. But even without those, it’s still such a great app, and a serious bargain at the price!

Very easy to understand looper, but difficult to monitor. I have been using the app a bit now. Had to learn a bit about the synchronization, but overall it loops well. Unfortunately, it does not seem to work with Airpods, and connecting headphones with a USB hub on my iPad seems to disable the iPad microphones. I had the option to use the front microphone and monitoring turned on, but it never got to work through the headphones. Apparently, an external mic is expected in this case. So, extra hardware may be required.

Amazing for the price. It’s very worth getting the premium version. It doesn’t do everything but it’s great for how cheep it is. The only thing I mind about it is that unless I’m missing something there’s no way to skip to part of a loop or stop it to only record over one part. You have to wait quietly until the part you’re looking for comes around, and continue recording until it’s over or that loop will be shorter then the rest. Other then that I totally love it! It’s exactly what I need for really cheep. I got the other more expensive one for something specific, but honestly I still use this one for almost everything.

I❤️ Loopy. I use this program all the time, I am a dance teacher andI love how quickly I can set up a specific tempo for what I’m teaching. I save my loops and what I would really love to have in your new version which I hope is coming out very soon is a way to organize and order or re-order the loops I have saved. Love !. Love loopy been using for YEARS! Only criticism, I’ve reached out to them about it before, is that there is there no way of redeeming your account/recordings/sessions. To ensure they were all saved you would have to save all individually. I’ve lost all my material before when I lost or got a new phone. Otherwise it’s the best app ever !! Love it and highly recommend!!!!!

super cool!. for sure the best looping software app i’ve ever found. definitely takes some time to get acquainted with how it works, balancing volume of tracks, etc. but if you think of it as a toy the possibilities feel endless!!! i love that you can save sessions to revisit them later + the fact that you’re able to exit out of the app//even open your camera and still have the loops running! i also discovered if you connect your phone to a bluetooth speaker, it will actually turn your phone into a microphone!!! that sends out whatever your singing through the speaker even if you haven’t looped it yet. super super cool, glad i found this app

Unnecessary App. Depending on your background, your abilities, and your intention this app could work very well for you or it could be a non starter. I have tried to incorporate it in many different ways in my setup, but I always seem to find that I can achieve the bulk of what it can do with apps I already have, which is weird since those apps are not necessarily dedicated looping apps. I can’t say It’s not designed solidly or that it doesn’t do what it advertises, but I suppose after years of bending and breaking iOS audio, I’ve figured out what’s necessary and what’s just going to be offloaded to save space.

Love the simplicity!. It’s so nice to be on a walk, get an idea for a song, and to have an immediate way to play with and record a musical vision. I never like buying apps but this one is an exception for me - it is helping me much on my musical journey. Loopy is simple to use, easy to figure out, and best of all, is able to loop 8 tracks at once. So grateful for the creators of this app, thank you!

Solid app needs One more key feature. The app made me review it early so be it. It’s a solid app that does as advertised and very organic and spontaneous which I appreciate. Some of the controls make more sense with practice. There is a bit of a pre-roll issue on recording that requires one to get better at timing but the lack of real sample editing after creation means this app has one more big mtn to climb. It’s export function is great since what you make can be moved into a better DAW environment easily. I think the export mix function should be better as well as possibilities for a sequencer grid to export a composition. If this app gets these key features on board iPad iPhone it will be pretty hot stuff.

Does its job well - thank you!. I have been using this app for YEARS. Like since high school. So nice for just throwing down ideas or making fully fledged stuff. I’d love to hook up some hardware triggers one day and use it as a live looping DAW; it functions as such but I’ve always had to stop to putz around with my phone to tweak settings and trigger loops by hand. But golly if you like polyrhythms this sure makes that possible which I love. Thanks for giving me this app all those years ago, my creative soul is glad!

Love this app!!. If you’re considering downloading Loopy, I would seriously consider it. This app has been one of my favorites for several years, and as a musician and songwriter, I use it all the time! It’s great for not only experimenting with using the sounds around you, but also getting down song ideas in a fast and effective way, that captures the idea so much better than voice memos or similar built in apps ever could.

Loving loopy!. I’ve been using loopy for a while now to create quick harmonies on the go. What I love about it is how quickly I can see if an idea works just by singing and recording the parts in a few minutes. The app has some more advanced features that allow you to crate complex time signatures and setting that up takes a bit more time. But it’s also very easy to use the more standard features, which is great. I use mostly the app on the iPad, I guess I prefer it because of the size, but I’ve used the app on the phone a few times and it worked fine as well. I wish I could sync the libraries between my devices, I’m not aware if this feature exists. The other feature I’d love to have is an easy way to share the recordings (e.g by email, instagram or whassap) directly from within the app. All in all a great, easy to use app! Thanks for creating it and keep up the good work :)

More features than a $200 looper pedal. I have never rated an app in my entire life because it typically not worth the effort, I’ve spend thousands of dollars on guitar equipment and this app has more usability and features than any looper pedal I have ever purchased. Once you get comfortable with it, it’s amazing for on the go and quick jam sessions that don’t require any equipment what so ever. It’s extremely easy and super useful. I love it. Power tool, creative toy. I wish I used this more often because I can tell it’s really powerful if you grok how to use the UI. But you can also easily play around making with simple stuff as you’re figuring it out. It tracks your projects for you so you can revisit your ideas. It’s an instrument itself, a kind of synth made from a library of sounds.

Very fun!. I’m new to guitar and music creation in general but this app is simple to understand and easy to have a blast with. Some constructive criticism. I wish you could undo when you merge two audio track’s together. I’ve done it on accident a few times and it’s a bummer that I can’t seem to undo it. Also a reverb effect would be awesome. Lastly the ability to edit the Audio you’ve just recorded to maybe just use one piece or to mute a missed note. Ultimately I’m having a ton of fun noodling around in this app

Super fun audio tool!. I really enjoy this app a lot! There’s a few cool things you can do to manipulate the tracks outside of just stacking loops. I will say that you really need to have headphones with a mic though, because otherwise your phone’s mic will pick up the previous loops and you get a ton of background noise. I do wish there were more effects though, like flangers or phasers, but it is still a ton of fun to mess around with!

Lots of fun - great creativity tool for musicians!. I’ve been watching a lot of loopers online, and as a musician, I’ve always wanted to give it a shot. I decided to download Loopy after seeing it popularly used by Jimmy Fallon. What a great app! Easy to use, lots of fun, and a great tool for songwriting. Honestly, every musician should give this a shot, it will help beginners with writing their first songs, and more experienced players will have a great time creating.

This app changed my life. I absolutely love this app. I started using it 3 years ago, and since then I’ve developed so much musically. I love the ability to hear my voice in real time, and I love adjusting the reverb. I’ve gotten so much better at singing and it’s really because of this app. I’ve literally recorded hundreds of song ideas with this app. The looping features are very easy to use. It’s easy to build a song very quickly.

One of the best Apps for creativity ever made.. I’ve used this app and it’s iterations before for over ten years now (no joke, my friend first showed me the original Loopy in 2012). I cannot begin to explain how much I love and share the joys of this app with as many people as possible. It’s so useful, so much more powerful than any hardware looper ever made(panning, combining loops, volume control, sharing sounds to other apps, Audiobus compatible) and makes making and arranging things so much fun. I use this to begin, and sometimes even finish ideas. I use this app live to play sets. I’ve used this app in dj sets to do live remixes. I have this app on my phone so i can throw an idea together with my headphones on or listen to a project while I’m walking my dog and write. This app is everlasting juice to my dry and thirsty tongue. I will die using this app and stand behind it 10,000 %

Not There yet. I am by no means an expert in looping and just started working with this program. I see that it has tremendous potential, however the interface for me is extremely confusing and very poorly laid out. I have watched several tutorials on this and still find it very difficult to use and to understand. I think if the interface could be streamlined and the various choices be laid out on a single panel without having to go back-and-forth to change this parameter and that parameter it would be much easier to use. I really feel the potential is there, but for me the interface is far from being perfected

Literally the only reason I still have an iPhone.. I’ve thought in loops for songwriting for years. Back before 2013, I used to record little looping segments, and sing part after part. I’d sometimes use two phones’ cameras to record a loop, then record me singing over another loop. My life changed for the better when I found Loopy. I loved it then, and I love it now. Nothing helps me more when I’m trying to write songs. For me, Loopy is indispensable. In recent years, I’ve gotten more and more frustrated with Apple. I can’t customize my phone how I’d like to. Since the iPhone 7, I’ve had to try and keep track of this stupid tiny attachment to even USE Loopy, and I can’t record and charge my phone at the same time. It’s infuriating. Still, when it comes down to it, despite all the abuse from Apple, I’m willing to put up with it for one reason: Loopy. Well done guys.

Amazing. This app is what I use for anytime I have a quick tune in my head or just want to lay down a full track! Once you learn how to time every loop right it makes a sound of a whole new song you might not have even thought of! Give it a try just remember to use headphones that plug into your device and not bluetooth(has a lag). Dope incredible reverb quality! Enjoy!!

Unique and easy to use. This is a creative app that doesn’t have a steep learning curve. You can be up and recording loops within minutes, allowing your creativity to flow instead of being stifled by technical details to unravel and learn. This the type of old school software development that needs to be supported. Well worth every penny spent. Bravo!

Great app. More features than I know how to use yet simple enough for a novice. Great for lopping, as the name suggests. AudioBus compatible +++ can be used as input or output . Has count in feature. I used to use for digital music made on synths and drum machines via AudioBus and audio share (which it's also compatible with!), but now I'm using it as a guitar looper. I wish I was tech savvy enough to figure out how to connect this and my other apps to a midi footboard for hands free control while playing instruments. I think they have it, I just dunno how to use it. ...developers, any help? Lol Great app though... one of my go to's. Highly recommend

LOOPY RULES DO NOT FRET MY FRIENDS. Nuff said, loopy is amazing. Just an astonishingly well designed app for looping just about anything. Let me compose complex music with just a travel guitar and voice anywhere anytime. AND you can run other apps or videos while using loopy in the background—endless possibilities. Lovelovelove this Found Loopy via Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith—love her too. Check their music out if you haven’t.

Amazing looping app. I own an $800 hardware looper and this app can do so much more than it! I’m constantly amazed at how deep this goes. It helps me get ideas into a sketch that actually sounds really good. And it’s so intuitive once you get the hang of it. Definitely worth spending some time and learning all the features so that you have all of them at your fingertips. I can even start a session and text it to a friend so he can add more ideas on my idea on his phone with this app and we can go back and forth. Only thing that would make it better is to be able to plug a pedal into it, and better integration with DAWs (ableton, logic) oh and maybe the ability to create a shared collaborative song in the cloud, so you could build songs with others really smoothly. Love that! Thank you for this app. I highly recommend it to anyone interested :)

Perfect for capturing and sharing guitar licks. Seems really great. I’ve never paid for one before but it’s nice knowing I’m not blocked from certain features. It’s perfect for quick loop creation and sharing with friends. Some of the Beats Per Minute (bpm) customizations are really powerful. So far, I mostly turn the beats down to 5bpm and play a 12-second guitar lick. There’s a lead in setting where you can hit record and it’ll start recording at the beginning of each beat that you can visually see looping. I have a feeling there’s some better ways to get more out of the app. Also, the best part is that if you close the app your creations will be there when you next open it. So it’s great for saving ideas. Enjoy!

The best thing to happen. I’ve been making amateur recording and loops without proper software for years now just as a hoppy but when I found loopy that changed. My tracks can now be created easily and with better quality. Loopy has really helped me take more pride on my hobby and is one of the most useful apps on my phone. If you have the passion, I highly recommend it.

Loopy goodness. I’ve been using this app for years to make my own little loops and play around and I love it. I like to mess around making music, so I use this loop app to play guitar riffs, make drum beats from household objects, and freestyle over the top. It’s a lot of fun and I haven’t found anything that does a better job. Super flexible, plenty of options to tweak and all round just a good time. You can get a bit creative playing back your loops in different sequences too which is a nice way to re-live an old session. Get creative! Definitely recommend.

Great portable looper. This is an easy to use looper with plenty of features. I’d love to know how to import loops from outside loopy as the suggested app no longer exists.

Excellent. All round excellent looping App with great support by Michael. Bluetooth bindings let me use a Bluetooth page turning pedal rather than midi.

Streets ahead. I’ve been using Loopy for live performances for around seven years now. It’s the best-featured looper I’ve ever used out of all the software and dedicated hardware loopers I’ve tried.

Superb tool for composition. I love the way this app functions. Intuitive, very useful features, easy to get to know. I’ve used it to write lots of songs in record time and have been recommending it to anyone who will listen.

Long term Best Direct jamming interface.. Monitor vocals with iPhone mic no/low latency. and record structure live easily with awesome interface. No presetting tempo! Needs layered save on the nodes with settings setting suffix like 001 or date. So you can have one session but manage many takes then drop into ableton and away ya go. That would be the dream anyway.

Looper's Paradise!. This is the coolest looping app - truly inspiring! I've used it for about 8 years and saying it has added greatly to my creativity would be an understatement! Loopy is awesome!. I use loopy as a kind of instant sketchbook for songwriting and arranging, it’s so quick and easy to put down ideas, work out harmony parts, and record improvisations. It’s also great for putting down a backing track to practice soloing over.

Best app - and most responsive developer. I've used Loopy on my iPhone for recording stuff on the run when I think of extra bits for my songs, and Loppy HD on my iPad for capturing these same loops in a more serious way, and I'm ecstatic with the results! Easy to use, with complicated technical sophistication driven by an extremely intuitive user interface. The other thing that makes this app so good, is the support forum that gives users the chance to help each other - when newbies still have their water wings on - down to the more technical uses of Loopy. This is also moderated by the developer who, as well as chiming in with advice, is always monitoring user input to prioritise the direction of Loopy's development. Brilliant App, with a very supportive, responsive developer. The only thing I can’t do with Loopy is alternate groups of tracks.. read that as “layers of phrases”... eg chorus, verse. Come on Micheal... you can do it!! In fact, I think this developer can do anything if he puts his mind to it...

Tanfastic App. Have had n used this app for a few years now. Tracks called Wake Up Feel Good. I used house keys for percussion, tapped on the bed for bass drum etc. Recorded straight into my old iPhone 6! Anyways, well done on a great app:))

Fantastic - especially with a little extra gear. Use this on my phone, mounted on a mic stand, with a condenser mic and audio interface. Just love the UI and features - things like the flashing metronome so you can lay a vocal tick track easily and being able to drag loops on top of each other to seamlessly merge them are just so cool.

Loop pedal in your pocket. Such an easy to use looping and layering app. The interface is fun to use and the way the songs build up is so effortless it helps you hear the musicality in even the most mundane and accidental samples. Learning how to access all the features, like selecting length of loop, merging tracks, volume shifting separate loops etc can take a little to get used to, but the entry ramp is gradual, with a basic tap and record track being accessible right from the beginning.

Great for songwriters. If you need to lay an idea down super quickly and your idea has a few musical elements then this app is really good, the layout is quite simple, sometimes you need multiple tracks for bass, drums, vocals and other additional melodies, as a producer this has been really handy for me to remember ideas.

Nothing like pro. Dont get this app if you tried the pro version and thought it might be in any way similar. Its not. Also, for some reason this purchase is not refundable.

Good fun. This app is great for having a tinker for much less than a full looping setup, and I’ve had heaps of fun with it. It’s not perfect though - not sure how’s your use it live with just the phone’s input since it records what it’s playing through it’s speakers too, and there’s a small delay that can be a little confusing when recording, but if you watch the visual metronome when recording and just want to play around with layers it works great!

Great price great looper. I was thinking of purchasing the Boss RC500 looper but then came across this. I initially though it wouldn’t perform but boy was I mistaken. It can run 12 loops simultaneously no problem (iPad pro) through a USB audio controller complete with over dubbing. Great for getting ideas down fast.

For guitar ... perseverence required but .... After the iRigHD2 is connected you can here it's good quality. Latency - great. Reverb - so so - needs a bit more distant ambience. Interface - not so much intuitive - more trial and error instinctive. It would be great if you could force the USB signal to come out the speakers - a bit of a load on the DAC but the M2s can hack it. Was an early adopter but came back to it. Stll more to explore with export. 👍

I love Loopy. I do find it a little tricky to start recording subsequent loops when I want to without waiting for the loop to come around. Is there a shorter count down timer once you press record that can be enabled?

Handy!!. This is a super handy app for capturing a usable loop as a foundation for adding tracks on top in perfect tempo!! Absolutely LOVE it!

Great features, but some UI design quirks. My go-to took for laying down creative ideas. Like a musical scratch pad and inspiration engine. My only gripes are UI design related. Example is the small text and crammed feeling of it’s controls. The text colours and panel colours are often nearly the same hue and luminance, making for poor readability due to lack of contrast.

LLOOPY Has changed my musical life!. Using Loopy about a year ago I did my own a cappella arrangement of KT Tunstall‘s Black horse and the Cherry tree in a tribute to her on looped version. Since then I have not looked back. I cannot think the makers of loopy enough for doing no less than bringing an extra dimension to my music making. Really thank you so so much!

Studio an iPad. If you play or sing, you need to have this app. It’s a looper, it’s a studio. I can record tracks at home and email them to my brother to insert into his DAW. You can build Acapella vocals. As a semi-professional musician it’s easy to work out harmonies with other band members using Loopy HD. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s always been incredibly useful in so many applications around playing and creating music.

Took me long enough…. I got this literally years ago, but couldn’t get behind looping in general, so Loopy gathered dust in my app collection until I finally decided to check it out again. Glad I did - very easy to use once I got into it. I spent a few minutes figuring out how to get my guitar plugged into Loopy, then the rest of the night into the wee hours playing with it. I should have taken the time to try it back when I first got it. Piles of fun! I will be looking towards getting the pro version very soon!

Long time user. I love this app- as soon as it came out I abandoned my lower fidelity hardware pedals. I highly recommend over other hardware and software. I just wish someone would make higher quality iPad docks and Bluetooth pedals. But the simplicity and reliability of LoopyHD is still worth it. I use it in combo with a pedalboard and a cello!

Makes your iDevice worth it. Loopy is one of those apps that makes your iDevice worth buying. Clean, easy and focused on doing one thing better than every one else: live looping. Audiobus support just blows it out of orbit. Honestly, if live audio looping is your aim, just get it.

I have abelton. This app works well with abelton but more importantly, it works for me when I’m not near a computer and on the road. I love the loop function and still exploring the app. I might be ignorant but when I combine clips I accidentally I wish I could get them back separated. Other than that, I adore this and would pay money for it again.

Excellent!. I don’t really leave reviews (I maybe did for procreate) but I have literally been sitting on my couch for the last 2 hours with wooden and metal spoons, a mug and my voice and I have actually made some really cool tracks! Super fun!. I’ve been using this app for a long time. Stick and some headphones with a microphone attached and just have your way at it. A lot of my music creation is done while driving. I know, I know… But, it tends to be when I’m the most creative. If you can beatbox, ham, hold a melody or any other thing even somewhat musically inclined… This app is the app for you.

Terrible feedback and bad interface. The interface is not very intuitive and is confusing. It took me too long to figure out how to delete tracks. Their is so much feedback wether I wear headphones or not it is terrible quality and sounds far more electronic than my bass microphone. Do not waste your money on this app! It is not good for instrument although I cannot say the same about vocals as I don’t use it for that. If I could I would return this app as it works terribly!

Life changer. This thing has opened a door to play with sounds in a way that allows for depth of creation (full songs) and even surface level creation (small musical sketches). It’s fun to mess with for just a few minutes when inspiration hits. And I can also spend hours playing with layers and rhythms. Lots of fluidity. Beautiful.

Easy to Build out Ideas. This is a perfect tool to use for sketching out song ideas OR whole songs. Just take some time to get to know the tools, and you’ll be flying!

A fun powerful tool that is also accessible. This is one of the most fun music toys/tools that I’ve encountered in a while, and one of my main hobbies is buying and learning about instruments and music goodies. I especially like the support for the Bluetooth keyboard hot keys that can be customized.

Random loop distortion issue. Love this looper. Only issue I’ve had is that it will randomly distort a loop in the middle of the session, during playback, regardless of input volume (it’s not clipping from volume of recording). I’ve seen others bring this issue up, and inquired on the loopy forum with no reply. Any info on a fix would be most welcome… as I said… I do otherwise love this app. Thank you!

easy to use but very versatile looper. It will take you a little bit of time to get used to how this works, but not much. Seems to be one of the better looping apps around, with lots of versatility if you want it or simplicity if you want that

Straightforward, No nonsense. Loopy gives me the power to just capture those spontaneous moments that would otherwise be lost. I can jam with myself..something I’ve been doing a lot during the pandemic. Been using this app since 2015. Reliable app. 10/10

Happy Music Makers. I just downloaded this app and my husband and I spent the next three hours playing with it. It's relatively intuitive and easy enough to figure out the basics in a night. We recorded three separate songs and were quite pleased. He's an audio engineer and it gets his seal of approval.

Crash Issues. I absolutely loved this app when I had it installed on my iPhone 5S. I still love it because it works well with VoiceOver. However, since I installed it recently on my iPhone 8 when I go into the individual track menus and try to clear or rerecord a track the app crashes. If it weren't for that issue I'd give it 5 stars. I never had a problem until recently.

Great for testing ideas and practicing. If you need to study licks, scales, try new chord ideas/ melodies and/or loops? This is the app! If you take a little time and experiment, you will see how great of tool this can be. I just wished the iPad app had 8 loops (like iPhone app) instead of six and had iCloud/Google backup so I can share loops with my other devices. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

No limit to the fun!. I don’t do what most people would consider “music.” More like abstract soundscapes using my voice plus all of the morphing/distortion I can produce by overdubbing, fading, panning, etc. Like having an “organic synthesizer” at my disposal. Loopy let’s me do it all on the fly and I love it!

Has rekindled my love of creating music. This app is amazing and I can only hope it never goes away like some other good apps have in the past. I let it sit for a couple of years but then decided to see if I could make it work and boy, when you do it’s amazing.

A great Looper that could be better with on more thing.... I love this app, it can be a bit daunting at first but it does get easier to use with practice. I would like the developer to show how to connect and use with Audiobus (same developer) as I have had trouble with that. And the reason I hold back from giving 5 stars is it could use a delay effect to add to each track.

This app is amazing! Just needs an undo button. So easy to get started making some fun loops however in order to delete tracks you have to swipe down in a motion that can easily join two tracks together instead of deleting.

Great fun, great potential!. It still works, and the design is pretty intuitive. Loopy is a new “instrument“ for me to learn, and the main limitation is what I can learn to with it. With some planning and practice, I’m sure this can be a real asset to my music making (and practice). Looking forward to the process!

Love this app!. This app is amazing for recording ideas on the fly. Once I come up with a melody or rhythm it’s so great to be able to record a track and have it loop instantly. Then overdubbing, turning tracks on and off, fading in and out and it’s all very intuitive. This is a vital app in my iOS workflow for creating music.

Fan. Been using this app since O.G. loopy on the first gen iPod touch! Absolutely great, as a vocal percussionist I love messing around, making beats or even songs, and sharing with those around me! Works pretty well.. Pretty convenient. They only thing missing is a way to modify the tracks after recording. If you could delete part of the track, you could record and then modify so you wouldn't have to use your toe to start/stop when playing a guitar with two hands.

Loopy HD still rocks after so many years!. Was just using Loopy HD and thought to update my original review to say just how much I still enjoy the app. It's easy to use, simple to figure out, and accessible for users of the VoiceOver screen reader for visually impaired. Nothing short of amazing! I wish I could give this 10 stars!

Great for song drafts and brainstorming!. Loopy is such a huge help for getting all my musical ideas out in a simple, concise, and user-friendly way! Thanks to the developer for helping me make my work and life so much easier! :)

Fast fun flexible. The first time I used loopy, it seemed limited. I just installed it again, routed it through Audiobus, messed with live sampling... honestly it’s great. It’ll take me a bit to master live looping, I use daw usually. Once I get the timing and overdub features, it’ll be great. I’m struggling to find a render out function though.

Nice. Started making music and getting into a groove within seconds. I’ve only been using this app for 30 minutes yet no adds or annoying purchase offers. So far so good. I haven’t tried exporting yet so I’ll come back and update after I’ve used it more.

Love it. So much fun and works really well. I used this to help me map out an arrangement of Spain by Chick Corea and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this. This really helped me hear things together (since I looped certain tracks together to hear specific harmonies against the melody). LOVE this app.

Reliable music notebook for 10 years. I have found this app to be intuitive and powerful, especially as a way to capture musical ideas and their closest kin. I have used it in the classroom, on the road, and in personal vocal improv. Never in performance. But the best looper is often the one you have with you.
