As seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon -- Create music with Loopy HD by layering looped recordings of singing, beatboxing, or playing an instrument with a savvy, sophisticated, tactile new looper that totally reinvents the formula.

-- “I pretty much own every mobile looper out there and Loopy is HANDS DOWN the best. Super simple interface with powerful features.” -- J. Alan Meier
-- “If you want a recording app that will get out of the way and just let you be creative, you just found it.” -- Dave Merson-Hess, indie film composer
-- “Loopy 2 is by far the best looper for the iPhone we’ve seen to date” -- iOS Recording
Now compatible with Ableton Link, a new technology that synchronises beat, phase and tempo. It works between Ableton Live and Link-enabled iOS apps over a wireless network, or iOS apps on the same device. Just turn it on in Settings to get started! http://ableton.com/link
Compatible with the Audiobus app: Now you can receive live audio directly from other Audiobus-compatible apps!
While other music creation apps tend to be either powerful but difficult to learn, or easy to use but limited in features, Loopy doesn't compromise. Loopy offers a sleek, expressive, instantly understandable interface that beginners can start using effectively straight away. It's fun, right from the start.
More advanced users, however, will not be disappointed by Loopy's rich feature set, with extra features many other loopers just don't have. Plus, a sophisticated interactive tutorial system lets users discover Loopy's more advanced features at their own pace.

Minor Audiobus-related fixes
I am by no means an expert in looping and just started working with this program. I see that it has tremendous potential, however the interface for me is extremely confusing and very poorly laid out. I have watched several tutorials on this and still find it very difficult to use and to understand. I think if the interface could be streamlined and the various choices be laid out on a single panel without having to go back-and-forth to change this parameter and that parameter it would be much easier to use. I really feel the potential is there, but for me the interface is far from being perfected
Monstrously difficult to use if you’re playing guitar and trying to loop it. Absolutely not worth the $4.00.
It is a great app but I don’t think there is a countdown. I use it to record guitar so it would be nice if I had more time to get ready.
app does not completely disable the mic input, and there’s no way to lower the meter on Input Gain, it’s greyed out and maxed. you can still hear background environment during playback with all input settings set to off. not an issue on ipad.
The first time I used loopy, it seemed limited. I just installed it again, routed it through Audiobus, messed with live sampling... honestly it’s great. It’ll take me a bit to master live looping, I use daw usually. Once I get the timing and overdub features, it’ll be great. I’m struggling to find a render out function though.
First of all it's a great app, but for some reason after update it started recording in low bit rate m4a instead of high quality aiff. It ruins experience! Can you please kindly return it back? I know that many people complained about this. Hope you can fix it with next update.
The interface is a little different then a hardware Looper, but it certainly makes visual sense, and you will learn it easily. I do wish there was the ability to make sections of loops to switch together, like ABC song structure
I was honestly very hopeful with this app after reading all of the revues but it's completely unusable on my iPad. There is a consistent 100 millisecond delay with about a 60 percent repeat (think robot voice) when you try to record. I've tried every thing that seem relevant to fix the issue but no luck. And I believe I paid $5 for it so that's a total drag.
I think I bought this the week it came out. Still haven't figured out how to do anything with it. Nothing is labeled. Very cryptic user interface, much like every Apple product, beautiful design and impossible to figure out. Jimmy Fallon can afford a Loopy tutor I suppose. Couldn't they take the time to write down instructions somewhere?
This app is perfect for putting together songs quickly and without much hassle. It's awesome to use with audiobus. That said there are 2 things I would love to see. The first is a way to label tracks / loops. And the other would be some kind of auto fade in fade out or volume envelope. Aside from those 2 things this app is a game changer in my opinion!
Love playing this one with kids too!
Another nice upgrade to this top app.
I first found out about this app through Jimmy Fallon and I have loved it ever since
So this would be my number one recommendation on the App Store if it wasn't for the existence AudioBus 2 (another app also by ATastyPixel). That said, LoopyHD and AudioBus are the reason I bought an iPad, and will probably buy few more over the years to come. There is a great online community for support with any of ATastyPixels products. Not to mention the developers are playing a very active role devolving the apps in response to the communities suggestions/requests.
I love this it so AWESOME!!! I saw it on TV too (The Today Show). I even saw the creator. Hehe keep up the good work! :)
Good app but needs to support Bluetooth headphone and speakers. I use it mostly to edit / mix music copied in from the wonderful Animoog app. I can export it to iTunes etc but unlike all my other apps, I can't play the loops on the Bose sound link speakers which are Bluetooth connected. This limits it's usefulness. Since to get an amplified sound I have to use a physical cable.
The clever looping app I've been longing for!
Great and easy to use once you understand how it all works. Quite simple to create multiple loops over a short period of time and great for jamming and recording ideas for songs. Would be nice to have the option to be able to add even more than 12 tracks, and be able to scroll across the page to see those extra tracks. Overall, very fun, useful and usable!
I love this app, but I can't stand Soundcloud, which I only joined for this app. Soundcloud is buggy and frustrating when I want to share my creations. Please, please, please add some alternative sharing options.
I use this with an iRig HD for the guitar and for drunken beatboxing (*cough*) its absolutely brilliant, the UX is intuitive and very easy to use.. I built a BLE pedal board for external controls (arduino + time) and now the only thing that i think is missing is the ability to add guitar and voice effects (chorus, tube screamer, rat distortion, reverb etc) Simply brilliant.
This recording studio goes hard but it needs a lot more added to it Michael you need to get this recording app with like a different color screen for it one An 2 sound just a little better Also it should have its own Dj mixer type thing on it all in one You make these changes this app will be the best ever
Latest update broke it and made it unusable, won't finish updating and loss a ton of stuff, thanks.
The setting that would be useful are confusing to figure out. Also, this app is NOT instrument player friendly!
Love, love, love this app!.... Good controls and features. It would be nice to add FX. But I'd like to see you add iCloud to this, that way we can add our creations to other music apps, such as GarageBand! Please :-)
Sound etc. terrible on iPad air2 unusable
This is a great app, it's pretty much self explanatory and it works with Ableton Link!
This is the best music application I've used on iOS, it's never failed me and it obliterates all competition. I realized I'd never reviewed it and I felt obligated to because of how great Loopy is. I can't recommend it enough!
Then you incorporated this stupid merge thing... I mean, it's a good idea but when you have so many things in close proximity, it's way too easy to accidentally merge two things and, with no way to UN-merge, it can lead to a loss of a lot of work. For that reason, two stars. Make it so that I can in merge, so that I can turn off merging, or making it CONFIRM you want to merge, until then, this is the rating you deserve.
How do I put this in line with my mixer so I can loop real instruments? So far, my looping pedal is better.
Different enough to inspire and produce the goods. Very clever and quick to create with. Audiobus compatibility nails this ad a top app. Do not hesitate.
Loopy HD is easily one of the best music apps on ios, it's easy to use, audiobus compatible and is reliable.
