No save. Having a hard time saving my tees in this app. I have 52 trees but for some reason cannot save the info. The save at the upper right of the iPad doesn’t work.

Awesome App!. I love this app! I was so excited when someone first showed it to me. I'm fairly new in Bonsai, so it was fairly easy to set up my database and quickly have all my plants included. I especially love the Photo feature. It was difficult you show people the progress my trees were making by searching for plants in my Photos, even though I had an Album for my Bonsai pics. Now I can quickly open the Bonsai Album app and quickly show progress of any plant in my collection. Since I live in a warmer climate, I do not have to bring my tropical trees in all winter, but do bring them in for a day or two when the temps dip low. Adding the "Snowflake" icon to plants that need to be wintered indoors makes it so easy to identify the ones that need to be brought in. I very much appreciate the update. I also love the fact that I can work on the database on my iPad, then update my iPhone. How nice to always have my info with me on my phone, especially when I want to show off my plants!

Great app. Does everything I need it to do to track my trees and pots. Love being able to quickly and easily see the progression photos of each individual tree. When a glitch has happened developer has been super responsive. Great that you can buy once and install on both iphone and ipad and sync. Records are always at hand, even when I’m away from home.

Fantastic. I love this app. It makes it very easy for me to keep track of my trees and my repotting and pruning. I use it all the time. I can back everything up. There's places for photos and notes where u want them. I'd like a 'to do list' that's general and a 'future plans' section for trees.... But I can make that work with the notes section. I'd prefer it if the species list was scientific over common names. I'd like a section of 'trees I like' where I can put pics of great trunk lines for future reference. But u can do that on your own by making a tree entry called 'trunk examples' and then adding photos. All in all a very useful app and well worth the money.

Bonsai recordkeeping. This is a great program. No more 3x5 note cards; no more separate photos. It’s all in one program. Write up your actions for future reference; make calendar events for future action. Track your trees, your pots, and your actions. Just wish they had option to record stands, viewing stones, or something that you have a further interest in. Unbelievable program for the price.

I dig it!. Just got this app in preparation for the Spring. It appears to do exactly what I want it to do: make a database of my trees so I can track things like fertilizing, repottings, acquisitions, photos, etc. It's really great. Can't wait to see what new features future updates bring!

A great bonsai resource!. This program allows any bonsai enthusiast, the ability to catalog trees, pots and other bonsai accessories in a convenient accessible file. Saves a lot of time and effort!

Not working. App doesn’t let me import/export from existing database. More importantly, it freezes up when I try to add new bonsai. Wish I could get a refund!!

Solid Performance, Organization, Navigation & Connectivity. Bought this App for my iPad to track my work. The App offers solid, stable performance working through well-thought-out entry fields. Easy to navigate. The ability to add photos of any items is valuable. Photo enlargements from inserted photos are easy to view detail. The up-front organization ability for each tree and pot is perfect. Best feature I enjoy: The Log. The Log has fields to track my root pruning, design and style ideas, planting dates and other work....and I even include photos of roots, especially where work at a later date is needed. The Log gives me a lot of writing room for any notes...really handy for the Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter To-Do lists. There is an excellent Bonsai Pot section also where I document what I have with photo and measurements. Really handy. Easily set up an entry for a tree and seamlessly connect the work needed right to my device calendar. I root prune. Photograph the roots while exposed. Insert the photos in the Album. Note any particulars while I can clearly see the roots. Then set a date and notification effortlessly to my calendar for that future work. I also track my ground-growing tree material noting care specifics and trunk development. You'll enjoy this well designed App. The functionality is fabulous and the portability excellent. When I travel I can continue tree thoughts and easily add notes...which is something I like doing during the dormant winter months.

Best bonsai app available. A great app for tracking the growth and development of your trees. The tree profiles have tons of detail including all notes made on the tree. The pot listing is a great way to keep track of your pots' source, dimensions, and cost. The notes include space for before and after picture. I love that you can set an alert from the notes. I use it to remind me to check on a tree's wiring a month or two after styling so it can be removed as needed. There are some improvements I would like to see in the notes. One is for the notes to be divided by month not just year. Another would be the ability to put multiple trees in one note. Right now if you fertilize 20 trees in one day you need 20 notes instead of one note for all the trees getting the same fertilizer at the same time. A list for fertilizers would be another good addition. Overall this is an app with great design and utility for managing bonsai.

Much used app. This's app helps a lazy Pearson like my self document the development of your trees! And it's easy! And handy to show others what progress or mistakes you have encountered, a picture is worth a thousand words. Get this app, you need it.

This is the best app for any bonsai enthusiast! Great app!!!!!!. I now have entered all 90 of my trees and the app works great to show off your trees progress from year to year. It is very easy to use with a lot of features to track the history of your tree along with work that you have done on your tree. You can also back up your info to your computer for security. The app designer is very responsive to suggestions as well to make this app even better than it already is!!!

Excellent. An excellent app for keeping track of the development of my trees. I use it almost daily but especially when I repot, trim and/or wire. It is very useful to know how my trees change over time. And a photograph doesn’t lie. A great recording app!

Fabulous App!!!. The bonsai album is an awesome and easy to use app for your bonsai collection. It keeps track of every detail pertaining to your collection from purchase dates to tracking fertilizer. I loved it so much on the iOS devices that I bought the Mac version too. I had a few questions in the beginning and sent an email for support and Andrew answered me promptly with great guidance. I highly recommend this app and am sharing the info about it with our bonsai club members! Do yourself and your collection and get organized with this fabulous app!!

Awesome Digital Notebook. Any serious pursuit requires a serious log. This is it. Once you learn where the buttons are, it works great.

Very helpful TOTALLY worth the cash. As a bonsai collector I've always been looking for something like this it keeps everything organized and you can even set a reminder if you keep forgetting to feed one! Love this app!!! UPDATE AUGUST 11 2015 This app a great way of organizing and tracking progress and work on your bonsai trees if you collect bonsai like me you WILL love this app

Just about Perfect. This app lets you track pretty much everything imaginable for bonsai. It has preloaded categories to track (fertilized, repotted, etc.) and provides the option to add your own custom categories. The photo tracking is intuitive, though I haven’t found a way to sort photos by date to track progress over time. (You can link photos to your log, so it’s possible to do. I just don’t know a way to sort in photo view other than manually.) As a database, this app is awesome. When you update anything, everything linked is updated. So if you change the name of a pot, the app automatically updates the bonsai linked to that pot. Basically, the app “just works.” The only thing I might add is a way to create notes or logs on a global scale. For instance, I’d like a way to create one note that I fertilized all trees of a species on the same date and have the log available under each tree. This isn’t a dealbreaker to me though — bonsai is a slow, meticulous journey, and each plant demands its own care. Perhaps it’s best to take 30 seconds and write a journal entry for every tree, every time. :) Disclaimer: I’m just beginning my bonsai journey. So there may be a formal method of journaling that I’m not aware of. However, this app is well-organized as a database app, and fits my needs perfectly.

Best Bonsai Log App. Great app. One of of best in my opinion. Nice to have multiple pictures per entry. Also it's nice that once you've entered the photo from your 'Photos' app and the photo gets deleted, the photo is retained in this app.

Better then tags and notes. If your a serious bonsai enthusiast, I'm sure this is what you want. The $$ is well worth the cost!

Love this app. Great app! I would like to be able to add more pictures. Now I can only add 2 per entry. Very easy to use.

Great App and Great Customer Service. This app is great; it’s simple to use and allows you to track all sorts of things. The simplicity of the design makes it an efficient tool. The developer is also very responsive. There was a bug that was causing problems and he was quick to acknowledge the bug and resolve it.

Great for managing bonsai collection. Stellar app. Exceptional ability to edit and track vital stats. Beats traditional log book because the app allows you to add notes on the fly. Also, Andrew responded to my suggestion about tracking the sales of your collection the same day I sent in the email. Great app, killer dedication to excellence, and I look forward to using this great product for a very long time. Well worth it!

Excellent App. This is an excellent App. Does everything I hoped it would and more. Had one question on the transfer of data between iPads with both having Bonsai Album installed. The Developer explained the process promptly and in simple terms and it worked beautifully. I also like the fact that it's easy to edit or add other Species or Botanical Names to the Database and photo taking is a snap using the buttons in Bonsai Album rather than having to save the photos first. Like the fact that I can back it up to my PC (also purchased the App for my PC) and iPhone. I use my iPad as my primary database copy but keep it current on my iPhone as I always have it with me and love bragging about Bonsai Album and showing off my trees. I would highly recommend this App to anyone wanting to track their Bonsai collection.

This is a nice ap. I took a gamble with this ap because there were no reviews and the price was higher than most but it paid off. It works very well and there is lots of area to log notes, add pots, add tools, species, dates, pictures. You can even caption the pictures. I am enjoying this ap :)

Best I. I have tried a lot of software over the years to keep track of my Bonsai Collection (over 50 trees), but this is the best I have found. It seems like most software programs have a few good features but not one did everything you wanted it to do. But with Bonsai Album, you get it all. The great thing is that now on my iPad, I can show my collection to anyone, anywhere. My only suggestion for a future update is to be able to add to the "source" field. Even though there are a lot of sources to choose from; nursery stock, seed, cutting, etc., it would be nice to add your own source so that it would allow you to get a little more precise with where you got your tree from, such as nursery stock being able to list which nursery you did get it from. Good job Andrew!!

Bonsai life app. This app is amazing. If you bonsai you should have this app. If you have a bonsai business you definitely need this app. Keeps your collection/inventory organized.

Exactly what I was looking for!. Performs all of the key functions required for a descent bonsai log. You can add a tree, track everything you ever do to it, even track if you sell the tree! This is a detailed log book, not guidance on how to raise your bonsai. There are a lot of resources on how to raise them but this is the best log I have ever seen in my 10+ years of growing them!

Perfect plant collection app, FINALLY!. I absolutely LOVE this app. I use it for tracking progress for both my bonsai and my African violet collections. It's a fantastic tool, my only gripe is that the desktop version is highly overpriced, WAY more than the iOS version. It tracks all of the important and vital information on my bonsai collection, and I like the ongoing log and photo logs. My only wish would be a way to get my named and dated photos OUT of this app via some sort of EXPORT operation so I could share them in some organized fashion on the various social media outlets that allow you to post progressive photos of your prized flora. You spent all the time to label and categorize all your trees so why not make it easy to share those pics online. Other than those items I adore this app. It's very easy to use and you can get out of it as much as you're willing to put into it. However I don't find it necessary to own each specialty version of the app...bonsai, orchids, violets...with a little adfaptation they can all go under one version or the other of the app. Great job! Other bonsai database software is MUCH more complicated and no where near as universal or user friendly in deployment. You can buy this app one day and have your entire collection entered in a few days later and from then on it's a cake walk.

Does what it says.. This app does what it says. You keep track of your bonsai trees, your pots, notes on the trees. Nice app.

Whoooop. Have a fairly bad memory for some of these things like the app so far And with there was a column so you could enter in a minimum repotting time and maybe have a notification pop-up would be cool

Great App!!!. I've been waiting so long for an app like this to come along. Now i can easily journal my bonsai and pots (which are ever growing). I've been using it for about a couple weeks now and I'm very impressed. I also appreciated the developers positive and thoughtful response to the feedback I sent via email. I'm excited to see it continue to develop!

Great potential but no updates. I have used this app for the last 2 years almost. No update whatsoever. Pretty expensive but some good features like export into excel. Would like to be able to manage pictures more easily and have options for modifying them.

Good app. I find this app useful in recording my bonsai purchases and keeping track of what I do to them. I like being able to cross reference with the pots and ability to add photos.

Exceptional Organisation App for all your Bonsai. Really happy with this excellent app for organising all your Bonsai, and keeping track of them as changes are made. Wishlist for future updates: - Being able to edit the bonsai styles similar to the species list. - Being able to organise by plant family or genus - Have a different box for water needs /soil moisture requirements (some of them prefer to be left in a small tray of water while others need to dry out a bit before the next watering.

Great App "Bonsai Album". I found this app useful and easy to use for tracking my Bonsai plants. I use it on my iPad, iPhone as well as my computer. It also acts as my brag book. Thank you Andrew Nicolle for creating such a wonderful app.

Could be so much better. This app has a lot of great features that I find very usefull but the biggest letdown is the fact that you cannot backup via a cloud feature your latest updates. I use my phone to take photos of my bonsai as I work on them and like to update my database on my laptop. The fact that my iOS and OS devices cannot communicate via cloud update does my head-in and therefore I never use this app anymore. For the price that you pay for it and also that so many apps now use clouds as backup I would not recommend to purchase this app. Hopefully the developer will work something out and bring his app to the standard it should be at. No excuse anymore to not offer that very basic feature.

Most valuable for keeping track of bonsai plants. I have been using this app for a few of years and find it very valuable for recording, tracking and as reference for my bonsai. Not sure about pots, but could be useful if I was sufficiently keen to record them as well. The recent update provided quite a few improvements in the details which can be recorded for each tree, although some of them are too much detail for my needs.

Bonsai app. A great app to log your precious bonsai collection and to maintain a record of your plant development. I have been using the app for about ten years from the very early version and it has gradually developed into a most handy tool Logging the development of any given tree from nursery stock to advanced bonsai is a rewarding experience to the keen bonsai enthusiast. Having a pictorial history accompanied by text and details such as type of pot, notes, source of material etc etc assists greatly in planning future direction for any given tree. If you are a keen bonsai artist then you need to seriously consider this app.

Adding to notes .. When I add to my notes I have trouble seeing what I have written when the page is over half full and the keyboard overlaps with previous notes on that page . Can you advise me on what I can do to g et over my problem .

Great for recording information. I only just started using this app a month or so ago. I have found it extremely helpful in maintaining details and information for each tree. The latest update was good and made things easier for the user. I find recording details of pots a bit time consuming but the effort will be worth it in the end One modification I would like to suggest is to make "style" user adaptable. I live in the Southern Hemisphere and our styles don't always follow northern hemisphere dictates and it would be great to be able to be able to have styles that are relevant to us. Having just finished recording details of my pots, a couple of further suggestions. With pot shape suggest "other" with further dropdown to write own description With size of pot, suggest that you do similar to what you do in trees ie separate entries for width, depth and height Good work 👍👍👍

Bonsai Album. Hi, I am enjoying this app. It has some excellent features. Could you please add a couple of additional data fields that can be user named eg size - large medium and small. Also in the Source field can we please have user adjustable fields ? Eg name of retailer bought from etc. A few tweets like these will add greatly to the already user friendly app. Regards Glenn

Gotta have this. Now, no bonsai enthusiast has an excuse not to take lots of photos as their trees grow and develop. You can also maintain the sort of detail quickly forgotten such as "where did you get that from?" and "what did you pay for it?". All the information you need and will have with you when an admirer of your tree starts asking questions at your next Bonsai Show. And, it costs less than a bag of bonsai potting mix!

Fantastic app for Bonsai recording🌳!. This app is great for all your bonsai recording needs. I do think the photo features should be easier to move around once uploaded. So you can easily update the default photo for the Bonsai directory. After 25 years you are not going to want to see the very first photo of nursery stock you purchased as the one that draws your attention to the particular tree you are searching for in the directory. And it’s clunky having to delete older photos and re-upload them so that the latest photo is the directory one. Also losing any text you’ve added to that photo. Finally it would be great if you could set multiple reminders to your calendar for a single log entry. If I repot and style a tree, I’d like to set a 3 month reminder to remove the wire and a 1 year reminder to check for the need to repot. Fairly minor tweaks that would mean a 5 star rating in my opinion! Still very good value for the cost and the features as is! Thanks for a great app.

Some good features. Bonsai album has some really good features to keep accurate records for your bonsai trees. A couple of features that would improve the functionality of this app include providing “watering” needs as an additional input for each tree in the same way it allows “fertilizer” requirements to be recorded per tree. Also the ability to include short videos in the photo section would allow the owner to record valuable “Sensei advice” when needed.

Disappointing. A disappointing app that doesn't really help. No way of recording any fertilizing, repotting schedules or other important info outside of using the notes. Can only add 5 photographs which seems a bit strange. Certainly not worth $10

Bonsai collecting app. Great little app for those that want to collect and track their bonsai. Not too complicated, easy to use and is maintained by the author.
