Strong used to be a $4.99 one time purchase to unlock the app. Then, approximately in September, the developer switched to a $4.99/month model. Strong is a good app for tracking your weight lifting, but let’s be honest here. It is a glorified spreadsheet with tables. You could totally setup an numbers or Gsheet for free and get most of the functionality. The idea of paying an annual subscription for an app like this is mind boggling. We don’t want another fitness community here guys. There are dozens of those already. Utilize their api’s and just make your app the best diary it can be. But we don’t need the types of features that require a subscription that is half the price of Netflix.
It is a simple app that offers an easy way to keep track. Nothing crazy, but it doesn’t need to be. I like it
Every time I log in there is a new upgrade. If I have to pay monthly subscriptions for all my apps there is no point to a smart phone. I’ll remove this app and anything else from this developer. Save your money because they will have some reason for you to pay and upgrade again.
Tried a number of apps on both iPhone and Apple Watch, and I am really satisfied with Strong. Great features and love to see the development team continuing to make improvements and stay current with iOS updates.
Best training app I’ve found. Well worth it.
I have this app under the one time purchase fee since I got it 1 year ago for $6. No way is this app worth $5/month or a one time unlock fee of $199. I do not recommend if you have to pay these ludicrous prices.
Iwatch support this app is amazing !!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟
Continues to be the best workout app. Very flexible, great interface, and Watch companion. This app keeps getting better with every update. The developer is responsive and really listens. Latest version is best ever and I look forward to the continued refinements.
My favorite gym tracker. I use it religiously. A few awesome things - logs carry over when I get a new phone - it’s easy to add and change routines - timer is huge - good stats - I can share workouts with my workout partners really easily
Does everything you want it to do. It’s simple and easy to use. I highly recommend upgrading at the one time cost. Makes workouts more focused and satisfying. Very well designed.
Great app - excellent layout and does just what it says on the tin
So disappointing. Unless you’re going all in and getting the premium version, it’s not worth your time downloading. Plenty of freebie ones available that have more basic functionality. Used to be good, sadly not anymore.
Great app when it works.
I love this app. I used it every workout. One thing that would be really handy: when you look back at your past workouts, it could be easier to look them up if you could categorize your workouts. For example, when you almost complete your log, you could have a drop down box where you can select what body parts you worked out (e.g. chest and triceps). That way when you want to check what exercises you did last time, you could search the history by category instead of having to scroll down through it all.
This app was my favorite but now it doesn’t work for me after I updated my Apple Watch to the latest iOS. Please fix!!!
Have tried them all, this is the best.
It just has everything you will ever need. Like: the end of rest alarm is loud so you can hear it above music Dislike: a tough one! If I was going to be split hairs I would say the checkboxes for completing a set could be bigger. I use fingered gloves when doing weights as I have a hand injury from football and when I pull a glove off to hit the checkbox I'm juggling a phone and glove so miss the checkbox sometimes.
$7.50 a month to just use the app properly? Absolutely ridiculous.
Really well thought out for tracking weight programs and the app developer is super responsive. Highly recommend!!
By far one of the best fitness logging apps around. It does everything I need it to with tracking my sets and logging the workouts. For me one of the better features is definitely the rest timer. This logging app was exactly what I was looking for.
Great app perfect for keeping up with routine and weight gainz
Great fitness app
Only thing I would recommend is the option to display your PR in the column to the left while working out instead of your previous workout.
As someone who has very rarely reviewed apps, this is somewhat unusual but I have to give credit where it is due. This is easily one of the most well thought out, feature complete, useful apps that I’ve ever used. It is useful right out of the box, but can be customized almost infinitely to your liking. And to top it off, it is very regularly updated to fix any problems and their change logs are actually full of info! In a world of half baked apps by developers that clearly don’t actually use whatever they are developing, it’s clear these developers use and care about this app.
If you don't pay for the premium, this app has very limited functionality. $200 for a lifetime use of premium is absurdly expensive!!!!!! It's so frustrating to only be able to log 3 workout templates!
This was a great app until yet again the greedy app makers decided that they want to charge monthly and yearly fees that are ridiculously high. In reality you can log your gym records in a five dollar notepad. The beauty of this app was that it made things convenient and simple. But like many creators these days they think it’s OK to screw their clients with upgrade features that actually should be standard. Shame on them. I just deleted the app that I’ve been using for a couple months and was happy to have given them a five star. There’s other apps that you can use that are far better and for right now are not charging. Who in their right mind would pay $199 for an iPhone app that simply logs their workouts and measurements?! Certainly not me and hope you won’t waste your money on this app made by greedy developers. If enough of us keep calling developers on this and deleting their expensive apps that take little continued develop perhaps the creators will get the idea and stop being so greedy with high ticket prices. Save your money on this one friends!
Honestly this app is confusing to navigate in terms of creating and actually starting a new routine...you have to buy the full app to utilize and track your progress which frankly isn't worth $7! The only reason I bought this app was to share routines with my workout partner who has the exact same app only when you try to share the routine it never works I've tried everything. Hopefully there will be an update to fix all of these simple issues. But for now I regret purchasing this app immensely! Update: Been using the app off and on for a few months now. STILL cant find a fix when sharing workouts. Tells me how can I add a shared workout that's been send to my phone from another app? Every time I click the link to view it the strong app says I already have the workout added to my phone!!
If you have a goal you are shooting for, this app is a "must have". Can't say enough good things about the Strong app.
