Needs updating. Absolutely love app, but giving 3 stars because it seems like it takes months the yearly updated point schedules to be changed in app. I can count regular points pretty well, but it gets confusing when it comes to GCH points....the schedules are posted long before the change which gives plenty of time to update app. It’s an app we were charged for, and right now, it’s not worth money

Efficient tool for ringside calculation. Love this tool! While I can refer to the PDF point schedules, when you travel around it’s hard to remember what breed and sex needs what count to make majors. Thank you for this tool!

Need Updates for 2022 AKC Point Schedule. I tried deleting & adding app but I still see links to 2021 point schedules. Will App be updated? I love the app & format when it has current data.

Something has changed. I’ve used this app for several years to calculate points and it always did a good job. Yesterday and today it clearly miscalculated the points for our breed

Must have show accessory. I have used iShowCalc since it came out. I think the reviews are low because there was a year they had a glitch when the points were updated. They got the kinks worked out. I love iShowCal, it’s super easy to use. I recommend everyone everyone get it. It’s especially good for new people just learning and those with multiple breeds that travel.

2018 points schedule. When are you going to offer the new point schedule? Numbers have changed drastically in many divisions.

Newest update does not calculate points correctly!!!. Basically useless since it won’t calculate points correctly. Need a fix ASAP!!!!!! Update: Works great!!! Just had to delete and reinstall.

Nice. Nice and simple. I am chasing a GCH on my dog and this is very helpful ringside to keep up with the actual number of dogs that showed up. The only thing it's missing is helping determining "defeats", i.e., did my dog going BOS or Select defeat any champions. It's not always that obvious to me, especially when I'm showing - sometimes it goes so fast I can't figure out what happened. It's a *minor* thing, but would make the app absolutely perfect.

Indispensable!. This app is my go-to, and thank you for creating it for the show community. Despite the nitpickers out there, I’m so grateful to have it. There’s nothing else like it.

Worthless if not updated with current point schedule. I love the app when it uses the current point schedule, but it’s July 2023 and the new point schedule came out in MAY. When can I expect the updated version?

Has not updated for points calculation for may 2023. I loved the app up until the points changed. Mid-May 2023. Now the points don’t calculate correctly.

Not updated to 2023. Points have changed for the new yr . I have sent two emails he still not updated. No reply to emails either.

Points Rule Updates?. I love this app but was wondering when it will be updated as California now has new point rules starting January 1, 2019. It’s frustrating trying to figure out if there are actual points awarded under the new rule.

I rely on this. This is a must have… but it needs to be updated soon after the point change, which happens each May. We’re in late July, and my breed/region had major changes this year, but the app hadn’t been updated.

Points Not Calculating Correctly. Veterans are supposed to be counted when calculating GCH points. Not only is the class winner not being included if you check the Veteran box, but there is no place to enter how many were present. Developer needs to check the AKC rules and update the app! Found another error. From AKC rules: “A dog awarded BOB will be credited with the number of GCH points calculated for BOB or BOS whichever is greater.” This is not handled correctly in the app. 

Not updated again for 2023. Took months to update in 2022. Looks like 2023 will be the same. Two months already. I’ve emailed them 3 times. No response. No update. 😩

Works 9 months of the year - maybe. It is a wonderful app. But once AKC changes to point schedule each year - it takes forever for the app to update! I can understand a couple weeks to update. But the new schedules come out early so it seems like a PAID app should be available all year. It would be 5 stars if we didn’t have to wait months EVERY YEAR for an update!

App no longer available??. I went to use it and get a pop up and says it is no longer available in the App Store. Went to the search in app and “this item is no longer available “. So glad I paid for it and can’t use it.

Needs to update. I love this app for counting GCH points, but it should automatically update when the schedule of points changes (yearly). It’s worthless if it’s calculating on an obsolete schedule.

Does not update when point schedule changes. The AKC Point Schedule changes every year effective May 15. I have been using this app for a few years now and it has never updated on or around that date. It usually is a few months before it actually is brought current.

Great tool!. I'm an AKC judge, and I use it to find out if my entries have majors. I also use it when I show my own dogs. Easy to use - enter state, chose breed, enter numbers for the entry, and press calculate. Gives you the full points breakdown including GCH points!

Love this app but. It isn’t updated in a very timely manner. The new point schedule is out. I really hope it’s updated soon since it’s pretty useless right now without accurate calculations.

Don’t waste your money. I bought this app without realizing it wasn’t updated for the most recent point changes. After reading the other reviews more thoroughly I see that’s been a problem since at least 2016. The developers don’t seems to have responded to anyone’s requests for updates either.

Need May 2023 version. Can this be updated soon?

I love this app. I’ve had this app on my phone for years and love how simple it is to quickly calculate points especially in scenarios where your class entry goes breed or OS over specials. GCh points can be confusing at times but this app makes it easy.

UPDATE—-Not Happy. I love this app and can’t imagine trying to calculate points without it. The one thing I really wish it would hold the number of dogs. It holds the breed and the state but every time you open it you have to type in the breed counts again. UPDATE: I loved this ap. Until the points were wrong. The app calculates WD is BOB (WB is BOS) completely wrong. I thought I had a 4pt major. AKC says it was only 3. So I have a lovely $40 photo that says new champion that I can’t use. I didn’t enter a few shows thinking I was finished. Not happy. The thing that makes me most upset is the developer won’t answer their email. Also, the new 2018 points are out and no update to the ap. (This has nothing to do with why I didn’t get 4pts). Overall this should be an invaluable tool but it’s not reliable.

Waste of money. Just downloaded this to find out that the point schedule has not been updated since May 2022. So this app is completely unreliable. Furthermore, I found errors in its calculations not even to the point schedule. With a 1-3(0-2) entry, it calculated points for the WD if it went BOS and WB went BOB (and BOW). It doesn’t work that way because the WD didn’t defeat anyone in that situation and would not be entitled to any points.

Updates take awhile. Will the app be updated soon for the 2023 point system? I love the app just wish the new points updates were done faster.

Great app. This is a great app. Only draw back is they take a while to update new point schedule! 2022 hasn’t been done yet. Either way, when updated it is worth having!

This App is behind schedule for updating again this year. I love this app! But it is not updated in a timely fashion! It is still on 2021 and has not been updated to 2022.

Can’t contact developers. I love this app - however, it should get updated when new point schedules come out (available well before they go into effect). And can’t contact the developer through the link on the App Store. I hope they read these reviews and update.

Easy to use; needs update. The app makes point calculations really easy... but it’s using the 2017 point schedule. Once it is updated to the 2018 schedule it will be worth 5 stars.

Frustrated!! Out of date for 2023!. The 2023 Points schedule has been out for over a month! Please update this for 2023. I use this app bat every dog show i attend, or rather I did when it was up to date Please update, app is useless until you do.

The best dollar I ever spent for my dog. For the price of 2 gumballs, you can calculate points instantly. You won’t regret spending a dollar to save you the mathematical hassle.

Great when it’s up to date. It’s June 3rd and the new point schedule that came out the 2nd week of May still isn’t available. I’d happily give it 5 stars if the developers could keep it up to date in a timely manner.

Updated point schedule. States that it has been updated for the 2018 point schedule, but no matter what you enter, it shows 0 all across the point schedule listed at the top (regardless of what Region you enter) and shows 5 points for all possible point placements, no matter what you put in for entry numbers. Needs a fix ASAP. Totally useless at this point.

App. Love the app use it all the time the one I have did not for some reason update when once again akc changed the points we just add one oh well

This app needs to be updated. This app needs to be updated since the AKC point schedule change in May 2023.

Unfortunately it stopped working. This used to be a great little app. It simply doesn’t work for 2018. Update: Developer indicated that deleting/reinstall would fix the issue. It worked.

Update. I love this app but every year the update is later and later. My guess is that the owner does it herself. Maybe she could use some help. I don’t know if it is possible, but I would love to be notified when the new version is available.

not updated for 2018! **Update required reload**. This is a really easy to use app to calculate points. But as of May 25, 2018 it has not been updated with the new points schedule that went into affect May 16th. UPDATED review: after the 2018 points update, I had to delete the app and reload to get to work correctly. At first it showed zero points required in all states, then reload brought up the new points schedule.

Not updated with 2022 Points Schedule. It’s June, 2022 and this application still has 2021 points schedule which is incorrect. It needs to be updated as soon as possible.

New 2023 Points. Needs to be updated for 2023. Points are not correct for Division 3 so they might not be correct for other Divisions as well.

It’s wrong. I am in CA and this calculator is wrong for GSPs division 9. Very annoying, that’s the only reason I even got it. I hope they fix it so I can use it in the future.

IShowCalc. I just updated for the new points progression for 2018, and now the app doesn’t work at all. I get zeros across the board for the points needed, and the calculation shows 5 point majors for all placements. At this point my app is completely useless. Lorene French
