Great magazine. I like the interactivity!

Dreadful customer support. Paid for 6 months subscription. Got 0 months. Advice from Focus was to write to apple. Avoid any contact with these guys.

The best. I've compared popular science and focus. Do you want more useful information? Do you want more info graphics? That choose Focus.

False advertising. This app claims to be eligible for family sharing, but does not work as such.

Gotcha some knowledge. One if the greatest science magazine out there. The app is good. It may take a while to boot up. It has good interactive articles. Other than that, I don't think there is much else that sets the app apart from other science magazines, except for the content.

CRASHES. When i try to read my only issue I just get a black screen and nothing more. I use an iPad Pro with the latest iOS.

Awesome apps and magazine. It's easy to read and understand languages for everyone. Nice app and good features to take advantage of modern devices like iPad and iPhone.

Great magazine. After collecting issues for several years i am always excited to get the next issue. Great mag.

App not working.. Press subscriptions and you simply get a black screen and a circular motion icon. Would like very much to get a subscription to this magazine but at this point the app is a dud.

Great app and good content. Some articles are a little light in my opinion, but finding the balance between readable to too technical is a difficult for any science magazine. The app is well done, intuitive and eye catching.

You never know what you’re going to see!. The magazine asks questions U had never thought of. And then I have to read it to find the answers real quick!

An amazing experience. Great articles in an amazingly enjoyable and engaging presentation. Love it, and highly recommend.

Needs fixing. Great magazine but ever since the update to iOs 6 app constantly crashes upon opening. Haven't been able read the mag now for months.

Easy to read. Interface is easy and material is informative. Wish more American media spent more time informing people on these topics verses the lifestyles of the rich and useless.

Schools. This magazine should be required reading in all schools. It stimulates the mind to ask questions and to notice the world we exist within.!!!

Focus Magazine IPad version. I love this app. The additional features including 3D rotations and clicking on items for more info really set it apart from other magazine apps that really just allow you to read the information.

Text size too small. Great science magazine and great layout, BUT, the text size is way too small an there does not seem to be a way to enlarge

Love this magazine. I have read Focus from the very first issue and I have found it the most amazing and informative magazine with a spectacular array of subject matter. Would recommend this magazine to anyone interested in learning...

Focus in America. Focus is an excellent publication, however even the electronic version is extremely expensive. Add to that a customer service (specifically online account maintenance software that doesn't want to accept US addresses) and iTunes is the only way of getting it without phoning the UK, cheap to do but still a hassle. I very much doubt that I'll renew

My favorite mag. Focus is my favorite magazine.

A magazine...of scientific pleasure. This magazine is the perfect science/technology magazine...the neuroscience articles are great...especially to someone who studies medicine and human biology...like me. If you are a doctor, medical student, pre-med, student who studies medicine, or a medical enthusiast or scientist then this is the magazine for you. Also, new issues are published regularly, which always supplies the reader with something to read! It's great!

Great. Luv the paper version, but this is much handier.

I need my money. Can't download my single issue that I bought in September, it forces my to buy it again. I emailed the support but no replay. Also it crashes a lot. Please give my my money back and fix your app.

Great sci mag. Love this magazine. Some older issues don't appear to function entirely otherwise would have given 5 stars. (Icons in older issues don't work)

Constantly crashes. This constantly crashes and customer support is abysmal.

App doesn't work in iOS 8. Simply put, this app does not work in iOS 8. I've been a subscriber to Focus since the first paper issue in 1991. I switched to the iOS subscription a few years ago when I moved to the U.S. I've not been able to read Focus in months because this app has got worse and worse. Now it just exits when I try to read it on an iPad or iPhone. Please fix.

Best magazine I've ever read. The articles in this magazine were varied and thought-provoking. I'm looking forward to the next issue.

Enjoyable stuff contained therein.. Everything works well in the app and a broad subject range is included each month. I got rid of the historical mags (how many times can one read about Henry the Eighth?) but I kept this one because of its variety.

Great app and even better mag.. Sometimes too much flashing and movement that it distracts you, however you get past it with the apps functionality and content. Now if I could only take the iPad into the toilet I could get rid of he paper copy.

Interesting articles. High quality as usual from the BBC, although I expected some articles to be a little longer.

Focus. Do not make the mistake of purchasing any magazines you won't be able to download them, and when you request help you will get a generic email offering no support in response, I used to really enjoy this magazine it's a real shame it's been spoils by such poor service

FOCUS Mag. When clicked, the embedded videos present black rectangles and no sound. Weird. Since this is an ipad-specific app, you'd think that non-supported functionality would not be included at all. I like the content of the magazine and used to read the printed version

Poor performance. Dissatisfied with this app due to inability to access my account. Have had issues for at least three weeks, raised numerous emails with focus support. To date they say issue of account access is affecting a number of customers, yet they still have not resolved the problem.

Cool Mag. Best Sci-Tech magazine ever!!!

Love it. I've been a fan of Focus magazine for years and it has inspired several of my short stories and a couple of my novels, as well as informing a great deal more of what I do. The iPad version, however, is simply THE BEST and I love it. It's interactive, the photos are superb and the articles and features beautifully balance information with readability. Superb.

APP DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ. The current version of this App does NOT load! The developer website, does NOT load! App Support, does NOT load!!! What's going on? Apparently updated bugs fixed only weeks ago? mmm not good.

Cannot open with IOS 8. Since upgrading to ios8 when I try to open focus mags I get the red screen then reverts to newsstand Very frustrating what us the fix. I am about to unsubscribe - I need my focus fix.....

OK working now. Help desk replied within 48hrs suggesting delete the Mag and then download. Went to Ipad ( 3) and the "processing" it was stuck in had gone and so just downloaded the Mag again and all good. Processed straight away and can view. This is my first tablet so finding it unusual reading on the tablet rather than the actual paper magazine but its crystal clear. So giving it 4 stars to start with.

Yes, a thousand times yes!. So much better than buying a traditional physical magazine because of the superb interaction with the content and navigation throughout. High quality pictures and video content along with all those interesting articles, news and tidbits from the world of science and technology. This App is well worth placing on your Newsstand shelf.

Crash. App crashes When turning pages, Recent patch helped, but still crashes It's a great mag, but this app needs patching

Focus for iPad. The Focus Magazine is outstanding as always. The App is clunky in ways that ought be known to the developers. As an example June download has locked up repeatedly.

Great improvement. Big improvement on the last version, it finally remembers your last page! Definitely recommend the magazine content too.

Not working. This worked fine till I subscribed. Since then it has not worked. Just get the startup screen and then bounced back to the newstand. The magazine do not want to know as I bought through iTunes. Still working through their help system.

Bugs fixed with iOS5. The new app was a total disaster with iOS4. Works excellent with iOS5. Better content and a good read. Keep up the good work.

Very poor experience. Firstly let me be clear - this is a review of this app, not the content. I enjoy the content of this magazine and have been reading it for decades. But this app is awful. In fact it’s fundamentally broken and not for for purpose. The problem is that you can only use it when online, which makes it effectively a website. Downloading a new issue takes forever, and it can’t be downloaded in the background. This means you can’t use your iPad while it’s downloading. And then once it has eventually downloaded, you have to be online to read it. Want to download an issue or two to read on a flight? Forget it. Never mind that this is something people would almost certainly want with a magazine. The developers have known about these issues for years and have chosen not to fix them. If you want access to this content then don’t let this review put you off. But if you subscribe I just want you to do so knowing what you will be in for. And I want the developers to be called to task.

Need to uninstall and install every time i want to read an issue. I bought heaps magazines issued for last few years and was very excited. But I’ve got an iPhone and after downloading an issue and click on read - the application just disappears. If I open the app again and trying to open new issue again the same thing happens over and over. The same happens on my iPad. Can’t get to read anything, wish I never bought it 😞

Cannot access subscription. Havent been able to get access since updating this app, no joy in getting any support. Do the people at focus even care???

No offline usage. Cant be used offline, doesn't load

Spectacular!. I have been a long time reader of the magazine and this App just makes it even better than I thought possible. Had a bit of trouble at first after downloading the app with it crashing at startup, but since the updated version came out it has worked seamlessly. Very impressed and well worth the wait for the bug fix.

Excellent!. Great respect to the designers, editors and IT involved. Always loved Focus magazine since its first edition but this new digital read is something else! Well worth a download.

Zoom doesn't work.... Beautiful app! The only thing that really bothers me is images where you should be able to pinch with fingers to zoom in on the image, doesn't work for me. It's a little buggy on the interactive features, I end with the thumbnails showing or switching pages etc.

Old issues were not downloaded. I bought the entire collection and downloaded all a couple of months ago. Now although it shows downloaded each issue has 0 Bytes and cannot be open. Even more, it crashes the app.

Great to have on my iPad Mini 4. Love the mag and used to buy it on newsstand. Now I always have great reading material with me!

Great when it works but often doesn’t. Very buggy, often won’t load offline, regular crashes. The least stable of the magazine apps I use.

a goldmine of science info. certainly the best general science publication out there . i amaze my friends and family with all of the data research presented . only minus is the high cost . publishers seem to forget that digital mags are way cheaper to produce than paper

Fascinating mag that truly utilizes app technology. At last, a magazine that redefines the term for the e-age. Articles are fascinating, funny, short reads, written for the intelligent layman. Photos use touch to bring up descriptions, videos may be embedded or linked to, brief sub-articles can be scrolled while remaining on a screen with related content. Very well done.

BBC is great…this app isn’t. I’ve read pieces from the BBC Science magazine on the BBC’s website. Solid content, and I’ve long considered the BBC to be one of the world’d best news gathering organizations. I subscribe to many digital magazines. The user interface of this site is poor. I’d prefer to download a magazine, then be forced to deal with this ad-heavy thing. Pity, because the coverage is solid.
