Doesn’t work.. I just downloaded it and when I try to login to gmail I get a message saying that my browser doesn’t support JavaScript. What browser? I am just trying to use safe mail. I want my money back. Also when I click on the help button I get a 500 internal server error. What is wrong with this app and your web server?

Major bug. This app used to work extremely well. Over time it has become more and more buggy. Now it is a disaster, getting stuck loading Google authentication service almost every time it is launched. I don’t know if it’s iOs11 or something else, but I am deleting the app and looking elsewhere.

Does what I need it to do.... ...and that's it. And that's fine.

Good App. Does everything well. Would be great to be able to save attachment photos to my Pictures gallery but it's a minor gripe. Maybe next version.

Quirky, but more secure. The app has some quirks and I have had to reinstall regularly, but it adds encryption and an extra password to my phone-based e-mail.

Garbage, Useless does not work. I just bought this app because the reviews made it sound great. Paid the $2.99 for it and then set up 4 Gmail accounts. You can not be logged into all 4 accounts at the same time. When I try and log out of one account and log into another account the app freezes and will not log out. I sent a message to support. I would rather have the $2.99 back but it’s not going to break me. I just wish there was some kind of recourse for refunds when the app doesn’t work as advertised.

Generally good app. The app is easy to use. I have had no difficulties in switching through multiple gmail accounts. My only issue is not being able to access my contact groups from gmail, although if you type in a name, the name will show up. The latter may be more of an issue between Apple itself and Google, although I'm not sure what. Second issue is the limit to 5 accounts. I simply need more.

Buggy. This app started out great, but now I have to constantly delete and restart it to get it to work right. I contacted their support and that's all they said to do. There haven't been any updates to the app to stop the bugs. I may try other safe mail apps.

Problems logging out:. The app gets stuck and spins logging out some of my multiple acounts. Need a fix then i would give it a 4 star.

Slow loading but no choice. Regular free Google gmail app no longer works on my iPad (2012 vintage). Bought this app as only alternative is to access my gmail through the browser. Works very well when finally loaded but takes up to 30 seconds to "authenticate" with Google.

New security page. I liked the app until the new security page was added. Now there's a long delay and I must choose something anything prior to logging in. Nope I will look for a new app...

Pretty good. Am mostly happy with this app. Two issues is have are that if I click out of the app from within a message, next time I launch the app the keyboard comes up and blocks me from being able to type my passcode to get in. Have to shut the app all the way down and relaunch. Other issue I have is that I can't save any attached pics to my photo library. If those two things got fixed I would give it 5 stars.

Does what it says.. Fairly intuitive. Does exactly what I bought it for. Open app. Click one button. Touch ID... Et voila: access to my email. One regret: it is not an email client per se, it just opens protected window to access your gmail. Still a 5 stars in my book.

Upsetting. The app does not fit vertically on the iPhone X as of this latest update. So can’t get out of an open app email because the top left button to do so is missing

Fine app. This app works well and is easier to use than the gmail app from Google. So far, not a single problem.

No longer works. I have bee using for several years with no problem but no longer working. I suspect since iOS 11. App needs to be updated for iOS 11 or there is no point is having the app.

Review me!. Had been working great till recently. The view changed to html based and bounces back and forth between what it should be and html. It also keeps asking me to review with no "no" option. I either need to review or be reminded later.

Unstable. I love the concept and I've been using this app for several years. But the stability issues are getting worse, not better. Literally every day it hangs up during authentication, login, or logout. Restarting the phone sometimes clears it. But I often have to reinstall the app.

Locks up, unusable. Repeatedly locks up, freezes, and will not run on my i5s or ipad 4. Suspect if its the OS9 software interface but since last OS update the app is worthless and useable. Deleted and reloaded several times, no change. Can no longer use the app. Use to work ok with minimal problems. Had times of other issues over past year.

Great app. Only problem is it only asks me the password, even though biometrics is turned on. At first it would all for both, but not any longer. I have iPhone 6+

Seems okay but not 100% sure. It appears to work as is should, although a screen flashes up saying login failure, then it logs in okay. Sometimes when logging out it sticks at 20%. Since this is a "private" app the glitches are a bit worrisome. A more generic icon would be nice. Prying eyes ask "what is safe mail for?". Other than a few minor details, great app! Worth the investment.

Used to work well, now not so much. This app used to work fine, but now it shows a horrible view of my mailbox. Need to fix this quickly or this app will be deleted.

Don’t get it. This was a great gmail app a few years ago. But it appears to no longer being supported. There hadn’t been an update since iOS 9. It no longer works for me with recent iOS updates. It hangs and has to be force quit. Too fab because it was a great app in it’s day.

Safe Gmail. Good app - simple sorting and authentication. Seems gmail fights to switch user out to standard gmail but can ignore

Keyboard glitch. The app is very frustrating! While typing with the keyboard up, if it times out and the screen goes blank or another pop up comes up, when you go back into it the passcode is required. That's ok. The issue is that the keyboard is still up and you can't dismiss it to unlock the app. You have to shut it down and reload the app to continue.

Works well for me. Purchased as it adds one additional layer of privacy to my email. Look forward to incremental improvements

Crash!. Love the concept. Hate the all-to-often crashes, losing my message and locking up my phone.

Great app. Great app. Easy to switch between multiple accounts.

Secure. Security works well. However if you're in the middle of typing an email and you switch out of the app to check something and come back, the keyboard is stuck on the screen and u have to force quit the app to regain control. So, if you're typing, hit DONE before switching out of the app, even if you aren't done writing. If you forget, remember to wait a moment for it to save into drafts before you force quit.

Slow. At first when I purchased this it’s all good but time flies I can’t barely use it anymore because of bugs and the alignment not good can’t see the top button options.

Excellent App. I do not rate many apps, but this one is worthwhile mentioning. The purpose of this app is to keep your emails hidden from other people who were not meant to read your e mails. If you have your usual gmail app and you hand your tab out to other people, they can read your emails if they want to. With this app they simply can not. It is worth it's money.

Much Better. I use this Safe Gmail a while ago and found it in its early version to be good but a little bit long to upload. But it now has an annoying feature of repeatedly asking me to do a review even though I paid for it. Works well makes sense to buy it!

Avoid this one. Under IOS6/7, If you have reasonable size mailbox this app cannot manage it properly. Locks up regularly with the only option to resolve it is by deleting the app and reinstalling. Reported the issue to the developers, including detailed screen shots. No response, no action and no fix.

Password doesn't support special character. For more secure email I am using special character on my password but I could not login to gmail using this app. Sent email for support but no reply up to now. I end up changing my password without special character. It worked! I hope it will be fixed soon.

Ok. Straightforward app, it's not any different from accessing Gmail from Safari it's just that it makes it so you can only access your Gmail with a password.

Would recomment google's own free apps over this one. Have been using this app now for several days and have now returned to using the free GMail app from goggle. Printing is very poorly supported and the app is very slow. Do not recommend.

OK within limits. Within limits, works well; keeps your Gmail private, and opens links within the app itself. On the other hand, cannot be logged in to two Gmail accounts at once and hangs every time I try to log out of an account- only solution is to force-quit the app and start again. An annoying limitation.

Annoyed. Your continual insistence on asking to do a review is annoying. It never logs out past 60% and now it takes ages to open up the login for my email and this requires me to put in the password. Maybe there is a way of changing this in the settings but it is not friendly enough for me to find it. I have deleted it and downloaded it again. I am looking for a better ap...!

Great app. Slightly slow to open but reliable

Saved the day. This saved my day when Google changed their set up and I lost connection with iPad Mail client. Had an initial problem connecting to Gmail, which the developers provided a work around for, and will be fixed next version. Good system program

Absolute rubbish.. I purchased this based on the other reviews, what a mistake that was! It's nothing more than a front end to the gmail website, ironically when you log in google prompts you to install their own gmail app! Switching between accounts is slow and cumbersome. Do yourself a favour, avoid this app at all costs and get yourself the google gmail app. I can't believe there is no way to get a refund on apps, I knew this was worthless 60 seconds after I installed it.

Does what says, no fuss. This app provides a numeric logon screen that assures methat my kids don't mangle my email while exploring the iPad. It also has support for multiple accounts but I haven't used that feature. The app has been rock steady for over a year and does what it says it will. Probably my favorite app.

Not very good and getting worse. This app is not very good. It is quite unstable and from time to time does some very unusual things. Further, critical reviews appear to have been removed from the App site. Best thing to do is to download a decent web browser and then access Gmail by normal methods.

Good. Good, but slow to log in and out. Also awkward sending functionality at the end of a long message (you have to click "done" and then scroll back up to click "send".

Does the job. I needed this because i have a corporately administered google account, so Mail can't access it. It does the job, as long as you leave it open. Startup is slow, once you close and reopen the app.

Getting Punted. I find it most frustrating getting punted from the application on more than one occasion and in between upgrades.

Terrible. This has to be the worst app I have ever paid for. When I got the free version I was excited about this app so I bought it and it worked for a few days and now it won't load my emails after it goes through the loading process it goes to a white screen. I sent a message to them a couple weeks ago and waited before I did a review but they haven't bothered to respond at all and the app still doesn't work so I either spend more money on another app or go back to the built in one

Bad. Paid for the ad free version and now it will not work. I contacted them and have not heard back after a couple of weeks. It tells me my user name and password are wrong but leaves no area for me to input either. What a waste of money!

Not worth it. Don't buy the hype.. After purchasing the full version, I found myself let down by this app. It doesn't add any features that aren't already in the capacity of Google Chrome and if you're getting this for its ability to to put an additional lock on your email, it's only a 4 digit code -- you have better security on built into your ipad.

I like it. App is small and functional. I'd like to see notifications when new email comes in but may not be possible with a high degree of security. GsDalsin

Exactly what I needed. Very happy - no one can get into my gmail account just from a single click of an app if they happen to be using my phone. This is what I needed. Locks again as soon as screen is minimized. Simple and effective. I like that the icon is subtle and unlike gmail app, doesn't draw lots of attention to itself with notifications and red bubbles, etc. Huge benefit if you want to keep nosy eyes away from your mail. Only annoyance I had was that my keypad sometimes pops up blocking the passcode screen and I can't get it to go back down. Realized that closing the app and reopening solves it.

I am giving 5 stars and hope the mail notification can be added! It takes a while to switch between accounts (logging out and in again) but this seems to depend on connection and bandwidth. Garbage. This app is garbage, free version worked great, paid version hasnt worked since i bought it...oh and ZERO customer service

3 problems. The app is great except for three issues: - you can only be logged into one account at a time. I thought this app would allow me to have multiple accounts going simultaneously - nope! You have to "Switch" which takes 30 seconds at least. - on the ipad when you are in landscape mode the program get's stuck in portrait mode. You have to wiggle the ipad from side to side and the program sense landscape. - the "rate this app" button keeps popping up over and over - no "dismiss" option. But then again... I wouldn't be here complaining if that annoying button had gone away...

Works for the most part. I use it for my iPad and iPhone. For the most part it works fine especially for quick emails. I don't trust it from a stability perspective because a few times when writing large emails the app hangs and I was unable to copy what I wrote. Fortunately I was able to screen capture the message to rewrite it and send via native mail client. So, the privacy is great and if you need something for iPad or iPhone it works fine if you don't write long emails.

Good, but could be better.. I like this app, but in gmail, I would like to see a select all check box at the top for deleting trash and spam. This is available in gmail when you log in using Safari and other browsers. In some parts of the UI, there is no clear way to navigate to other sections. I hope these issues will be addressed at some point. Then this would be my go to app for google.

High Five. Not only it works as advertised with all those great functionalities I'm addicted to using gmail website like Important and Unread folder, labels, archiving and many more, it also gives the power of switching back and forth between all my accounts with a single click!!! No password entries, and yet, still secure. And last, great, immediate and accurate customer service. Must have app for productive people using gmail.

Better than the built in Mail app. Not only dies it offer me some extra security, but I actually think it's much better designed than the standard mail app that came with my iPad. I wish that it would startup in landscape view though, instead of being forced into portrait mode at the login. After you get to your inbox the view rotates just fine. Also eagerly awaiting push notifications.

Strange behavior. The app worked great at first, but now odd things are popping up...it will appear to load one of my accounts 100 % but then suddenly start over, or switch to the regular Gmail login in Safari. Just now I was typing an email and each keystroke caused the screen to scroll. I went to the app support screen & found I will have to leave the program to email the developer, plus I will have to retype the address because they've spelled out "at," "dot," etc. Not very user-friendly.

Cannot login due to crashing... Trying the $1 version!. When it works (which is the exception rather than the rule) it does what it's supposed to. Wish it would already be refreshed when password is entered. Also, it's very tricky to reply to emails (where the heck is the send button!)… Often I will think I replied to an email and when I look in my sent file, it isn't there. Send button not where it should be, and not as big as it should be. The send button should be a fixed header that remains at the top (always visible) regardless of where you are in the email.

A high 4 stars. Works reliably and is just what I needed to password protect my email without having to inconveniently password protect my whole iPhone. Loses one star because it is a bit slow to load mail, but not a huge deal. We're talking maybe 20 seconds when you open it to see your mail. Although I wish the speed were improved, it's still a fantastic app - a must have for me.

Touch ID stopped working. A great app gone BAD with this update. Developer must not really care anymore as the SafeYahoo never worked properly either. It is a shame as this was really a terrific app. Hopefully the developer will read this and fix all of the apps. There seems no way to get in touch with the developer by email. UPDATE NOW IT DOES NOT WORK WITH 9.3.4 and neither does the safe mail free

The update ruined a great app. Very Solid App.

There goes $2.... My main reason for buying this app was the multi-account feature. Unfortunately, switching between accounts is implemented very poorly. On my home wi-fi (very fast connection), I'll wait 20-30 seconds at times just for the switch to complete. When you switch accounts, a page pops up that lays over the entire screen (nothing else to do but stare at it and wait) with various messages about how it's logging out…wait, wait, wait…. logging in, wait, wait, wait... and then it seems to have to completely download every message from scratch, all over again, on the account it's moving to. There were also times when the "loading" message would hit a percentage and then just get stuck. Other times I'd get a plain white screen with nothing on it. The lack of any kind of notifications for new message (even just a badge) also makes the whole thing next to worthless. Who wants to sit there all day loading up an already slow as can be app 100 times a day just to check if they have new messages!

Mediocre. Actually I don't really think this app is great. It's good enough to use, but not so great. The text box gets frustrating while composing an email. It (my typing cursor) either moves up to the very top of the screen and then beyond the top of the screen so I can't even see it, or it gets stuck under the keyboard. Either way it doesn't follow where I am and center my current writing. And I feel it's the same for the iPad and the iPhone. I keep thinking it was just a small glitch, but it happens all the time. So I give it a so so rating.

Safemail. Love it .... great interface for me anyway...

Easy to use, great to have. Definitely like this app. Easy to use and allows for multiple accounts to be accessed. Occasionally, it logs out between uses and I don't understand why, but very easy to log back in. Only downside is waiting for the account to reload versus when you remained logged in. Overall though very useful app that I like using and appreciate having.

It is So so. On my old iPod I could just check my email through the mail tab, now it has to be apple mail which I don't use, so I paid $1.99. For this app because the free one wasn't great and thought it was bc it was free. Turns out it IS just slow. I have to wait for it to log into my account each time and if I don't have wi fi somewhere I can't even see my old messages that I already viewed, which I could with apple's original mail ap:(safe gmail is great!

Gmail. Overall amGood app for Gmail but the stability of the app is substandard. It can become corrupt and does not easily log into your email. This occurs after several months of use or if you have a large amount of messages in your inbox. It can be fixed easily by deleting and then re installing the app, but it will happen again. It is a pain to constantly do this over and over to get the app to run. However, if this is ever fixed it would be a 4 start app. Interestingly this was never a problem in the IOS 4 version, only in 5 and 6 has this been happening.....

Like it. I've been quite pleased with this app's ability to manage multiple Gmail accounts, though it does start up a bit slow and lags switching between accounts. I suppose this is inevitable--but no regrets purchasing this and I would recommend it for anyone with a desire for secure email access and multiple accounts.

Improved updates makes this a great.... Improved updates makes this a great gmail app WITH privacy. Now if this ap would be native to the iPhone set of apps, it'd e great. Still can't get past the way the phone wants to open its native app version and since I didn't set that up, I can't initiate any email from any app - I want safegmail as the native app. Is that doable? I don't think so, if so that would be up to Apple.

This Gmail App is the one for me!. I have been using this app for several months and it has been very dependable and easy to use. Other apps I tried frustrated me. One thing to fix: when press "reply" the keyboard shows up, great, but when you start typing you cannot see the words your typing until you actually scroll down.

Great app!. I hv been using this app for the past six months on the new iPad. I like its interface better than that of gmail native app. The multi account function is very convenient. So far, I have not encounter any problems in accessing or toggling between different mail accounts. I hv 3 gmail clients on my iPad but this is the one I somehow always end up using.

Pretty good app. This app works pretty good most of the time. A few things I would change....have your contact list available. Yes you can get to it, but it takes a few steps which are time consuming. It does get hung up at times and you have to log out and in again. Would not be so bad, but it is a bit slow loading mail. One other thing is that in regular Gmail, you can click one button to delete all your trash rather than one by one in this app. Otherwise, works pretty good.

Good app... Until errors require you to reinstall. This app works great, but in the 8 months that I've had it, I've ha to delete and reinstall the app at least 5 times because I keep getting an error that says "too many HTTP redirects". Then a pop up tells me to delete and reinstall the app. If the developers of the app know enough about the problem o create a pop up message, why can't they create a fix to the actual problem??? I just had to reinstall the app for the 6th time, prompting me to write this review. Fix the problem, please!!!!!

Frequent crashes. Nice front end but aborts/crashes continuously.

Safe Gmail. Does take time to login and load but less than a minute total. And it is true there are no notifications of new mail. But it does actually delete mail when you move it to trash - something I can't seem to get the native mail app to do (it just moves the "deleted" mail to All Mail"). Handles two out of three of my Gmail accounts just fine and I would rank it higher but it doesn't seem to want to log into my third Gmail account at all. And that account just happens to be my "main" account. Not sure why it doesn't like that specific account. I've checked and reentered all the login info several times with the same results.

Great app. Achieves what it states it will.

Needs more work. I've been using this app for about 6 months. Works pretty well most of the time, except: A) initial load up and sing in are slow, and B) when using multiple signin, it's impossible to search messages because the virtual keyboard pops up then immediately disappears. If you don't plan to use multiple signin, this app is the best of the bunch because it leaves more open screen space to view messages. If you do, both imailg and secure gmail work better at the moment.

Woorks great!. I have several gmail accounts that I access continuously all day long and so far this is the only app that makes it easy to switch between accounts without signing in/out consttantly! Once I got it coonfigured correctly, I couldn't be happier! I will definitely check out this developer's other apps!

Nice app but can improve. I like this app a lot. It's simple and effective. The login always takes a long long time, but it never crashed or anything. The login screen itself could be prettier. The big problem I have is that it doesn't have a "back" button once you open a link in your email. I can never go back to my emails after viewing the linked page without logging out and in again. Please fix that and will be five stars.

A great app gone bad. It crashes too frequently

Overall pretty good. I downloaded this app since my work email got synced to the standard iPhone mail app. I didn't want to the 2 mixed. The app loads quickly and does the job of checking email quickly. One complaint I have is that the screen doesn't scroll up to the top if you compose a new email. So basically I have to manually scroll up to find the cursor each time and it's annoying.

Good at what it does. Does what I need it to. A little clunky, but useful.

Works for me!. Works well, and provides me the extra security if the passcode after having me email hacked twice. It hasn't happened again since and I can still access email from my phone. Crashes sometimes or freezes while logging in once in a while, but not that big of a problem to me.

Great mail program. Great program. Could have a bit better interface on the active message options instead of dropdown. It would be great to have the ability to keep all accounts open at the same time.

Convenient app!. It is slow, but I do have tins of emails that I need to delete! I use it mainly for my gmail because I have the authentic second password setup and this app makes it able to log on without the triple steps! I would recommend this if it was faster! Nice to have all your different types of emails in one spot:) all apps need improvement that's what reviews are for! I personally use this all the time !! Thank you !! Keep improving!

Very Efficient GMail App. Great user interface and easy access to multiple accounts, together with secure access make this an indispensable GMail application. I would like to see the ability to zoom in on emails or at least the ability to increase the font size. Overall very satisfied. Thanks developers!

Great App. Very user friendly on my iPad Pro

does what i wanted it to do. sometimes logging in is a little balky and shuts down but in general i'm very happy.

Bad Update. I haven't been able to open the app since the new update.

Post Mortem. There was a place for this app, about a month ago, before google released its app to support multiple login. Pro's - this app is password protected, and has nice GUI. Cons - it takes a long time to load your inbox(es), its $2 vs free from google. Long story short - for those of us who were impatient, we're already out two bucks. For those who are looking for multiple account support - stick with googles own mail app. Thanks for doing what you did dev/app.

Won’t work For Me. I can’t even get logged in. The free version wouldn’t log me in so I got the paid version. It won’t work. I gave up and used a different one.

Great app for me.. I find this app a relief and easy to use. It's a great app for me as I need to go between several account in a day and this saves entering all the info time after time. It also tends to load fairly quickly which is good. Some times it's taken a while to log out but that can be affected by many other factors such as wifi at the time etc for the most part it's fast easy and exactly what I needed. I was seriously over logging in and out of accounts via the browser which often jammed or stalled. This gets a big thumbs up from me. Plus unlike the security of it for logging in too. :)
