2 garage doors. For most people this is a great app—lots of 5 star reviews. However, for someone with multiple garage doors there is a huge flaw—you have to enter the password and user name whenever you drive up to the second (or more) garage door. That can be a problem for two types of people: Someone with 2 doors at the same house who wants to open one (or the other) depending on which car he (or she) is driving. OR Someone who has a garage door at home and one at work. The one at work may have multiple users. It would be so simple for the software authors to add the ability to store different accounts (multiple, for example, for someone who has doors on many rental properties that he needs to get in to). But this app is crippled so that it can’t do that. In the old system, there were three different apps that you could use for different doors. No more—two of them have died, never to be resurrected. Under that system I could put door “A” on Merlin, door “B” on Chamberlain, and door “C” on Liftmaster. No more. Darn. Please guys, you haven’t listened as I’ve talked about this with you on the phone, but please supply a workaround.

Just buy a key fob. This has been a major disappointment. I’ve been eyeing this since I first saw it a year or so ago. I finally figured it was time since my kids are coming home on their own while I’m at work. To start off it when setting up it would not accept password for my local wifi. Which I knew I input correctly. Then on a fluke i unhid the password and it connected. What?! Afterwards set up went well. Added hub and then the door sensors. Then the fun began it takes a good minute to even three to open the door from tapping the app. Then I would realize after opening the app the hub has lost connection to my wifi. Constantly. I moved hub to many locations and it still loses connectivity. Finally when I tried to reset and re add the hub as per faq when it loses connection I realize it learned both of my doors when it was only supposed to learn or add one. Now regardless of which door I choose it opens both my garage door. I now have to clear the memory of one garage door opener. What a pain. I ended up just getting a small key fob opener to give my kids. What a ordeal.

Pretty Good; Slight Improvements Could Make It Better. More like 4-1/2 stars. The app is very good, and has a surprisingly good and clean user interface, and UI/UX design is a difficult area of computer science that combines science with art that most companies have a very difficult time getting right, so kudos to the developers. It just works too, and I’ve had no issues with the app. However, I did have issues getting my outside keypad to stay connected to wi-fi. That’s not the fault of the app, of course, but a slight improvement to the app could make fixing wi-fi issues easier: Add to the app the information on the IP address and/or MAC address of each Liftmaster/Chamberlain device that’s been added. At the moment, for some devices my mesh router is not showing the names of the devices, but only what the name of the manufacturer of the device’s internal wi-fi card, and that is true for some of the MyQ devices. My outside keypad needs to be locked to the mesh access point that I’ve added in the garage, and it would be useful to do the same for the Liftmaster opener as well, but I haven’t been able to figure out what device on my mesh network is the opener. Being able to see the IP address or MAC address would fix that problem, and should be a *really* easy update to the app.

It needs a couple more features. The app is OK but since it is for a garage/driveway I feel it is lacking two major features. My kids play in my driveway a lot and I also work on my vehicles in the driveway. It would be nice to have a temporary pause with notifications for a selectable period of time in which notifications will then re-enable. Another suggestion is being able to adjust recording times. In the morning when I leave for work I might go out to the car a few times in a period of a few minutes. This causes multiple notifications to pop up on my phone. Or my family might run in and out of the house a few times when preparing to leave somewhere. If I have my phone connected to the vehicles radio to play music, the notifications beep can be quite unsettling. Being able to adjust recording times would alleviate this. I work with control systems on large industrial applications. Having too many alarms or notifications is not good. It causes people to ignore them. Most of the notifications with the app are due to extremely short recording times.

Old door upgrade. Had a 16 year old garage door that worked fine. Saw the MyQ at the big box store checked to see if my door door was compatible and it was. Took my time following the instructions at all steps. The most important piece of the install is that you have strong WiFi signal in your garage. I didn’t so I had an extra WIFI extender device and I put in in the garage then I had full signal strength. Once that was completed the remainder of completing the MyQ install was about 45 minutes. The open close log is great to see the times the door was opened and closed. By date and time. I also set up an end of day schedule to close the door each night by 10pm if it was left open. Notifications are on your phone. Another convenient feature is you can share the door operator with friends or in my case the trash service I use to in the past had to leave the side door open or pull the cans outside in front of my door. So as they say “ you can teach and old door new tricks” 😊

Smart technology without breaking the bank. I have been a user on the MyQ device for over a year and very minimal issues. Like any technology it is important to clear out the cache by simply unplugging the unit for at least one minute and let it cycle through on power up for up to five minutes to aquire signal to your WiFi network. I highly suggest that a mesh network such as Eero is the best way to expand your connection points in any size home to create a reliable signal from your modem to the master router. Lastly; like any smart home devices, the more devices demanding from your connection points the larger the bandwidth or internet plan is needed from your provider. At my home I use Gigablast which provides plenty of speed with plenty of bandwidth to support all my devices connected to my WiFi Eero mesh network. Expand your network, expand or upgrade your internet plan and all your smart home devices should have very little issues. I really enjoy MyQ and the excellent app that makes the whole system work flawlessly. It has reminders and notifications as to when your garage door opens and closes. With your bluetooth on you can control the garage door anywhere and anytime. You can setup temporary users if you have tenants, restrict access to users and monitor your garage door with additional garage camera that Chamberlain has available as an addition to their store. 5 stars all the way!

Chamberlain / Liftmaster Broke HomeAssistant Integration on purpose. They want “partners” to pay them for the privilege of letting users control their own hardware. Look up “PaulWieland/ratgdo” if your access to your own hardware was also disabled due to moves by these scoundrels. HomeAssistant is a lot faster and better in every way than MyQ for opening and closing the garage door, but Chamberlain group wants them to pay for them to stop breaking the integration even though they’re an open-source not-for-profit project. Vote with your wallet and don’t do business with these types. Now I have a garage door opener that previously worked well with my the rest of my smart home setup which is now inoperable due to incompetent management at the manufacturer, necessitating an out-of-band control board that simulates pressing the physical opener button instead of, you know, utilizing the existing onboard wifi microcontroller that used to work perfectly well with this. Lastly, I don’t understand what they’re thinking with this policy, as they’re not going to get a dime out of open-source projects, so really they’re just hurting their own reputation and users with zero potential upside / additional revenue. I hope their management reads this and changes course on this user-hostile policy.

Flakey,, annoying ads, and a Tesla charge?. I wish I could say this app was great, but it is not. Had I known this is how my new opener was controlled I probably would have bought a Genie opener which works with my car and existing remotes right out of the box. MyQ openers do not support Homelink, a standard in the industry. This app is flakey at best, sometimes not working at all. Other times not receiving notices, often not putting up notifications. And the large ad at the top is annoying at best and insulting given the cost of the door opener. And set up failed over and over. Took 10 to 15 tries to get an account set up and working. And if you have a Tesla, you will have to pay monthly/yearly to allow your Tesla to operate the door? Really? Just a money grab from Tesla owners? No other cars have to pay $45 a year? (Yea, not a large amount but why only Tesla?) For half that amount I bought a Homelink bridge and my car works just fine again with no yearly fee. Or I should have bought a Genie and done away with this nonsense.

After a couple of months this still works flawlessly.. I read all of the negative reviews on this MyQ wifi sensor and garage door opener. I set up a mesh network to assure excellent connectivity. I set up a motion sensor activated camera in my garage to verify proper operation. I installed the sensor top center of my garage door. I installed the wifi sensor/operator within the required range of my garage door opener and followed the set up requirements step by step. I do not use this with a whole house network as that takes another step and monthly payments for some company to make my phone have one less app (lame). Since install I have had zero issues. We have lost power and had several brown outs during a couple of tropical storms with no issue. My son is 10 and the last to leave in the morning, so I had to set something up to assure that my garage door was closed after the little dude rolled out to school. It turns out that he always remembers to close the garage door, but my 14 year old daughter....not so much. Buy this thing and remember, without suitable wifi and correct instillation, it is your fault that this doesn’t work.

Notifications used to work perfectly, not so much now. As mentioned in above, notifications used to work, but they don’t work like they used to. For example, I have 2 notifications set up, 1 to alert me if my garage door has been opened for an hour, the other is to alert me if it has been opened for 2 hrs. So if I open the door at 8am, and close the door at 8:30am and reopen the door at 8:45am and leave it open. I would get an alert at 9am saying my garage door has been opened for an hour even though I’m reality it only has been opened for 15mins. And if my garage door is still open at 10am, I would get the alert that my door has been opened for 2 hours at 10am, I should only get the alert at 10:45am. They somehow removed the logic to reset the timer when there is a close for these alerts. The closing at 8:30am should reset the timer to 0, but it doesn’t anymore, it would mistakenly always use the 8am as the start time and ignore any closes to reset the timer. Please fix this.

Remote Access Very Useful. We have 2 garage door openers and a gate opener. When we first installed these about 6 months ago I was just looking for reliable equipment and thought the remote control through the AP feature was a joke. I was thinking “come on, does your garage opener really need to be hooked up to the internet “. What will they think of next - a toilet you can flush from a 1,000 miles away. Well, was I wrong. About a month after installing this equipment I decided to get the AP going. It turns out to be a very useful feature. We travel a lot and for the last 3 months we have been doing a lot of remodeling at that house. I can’t tell you how many times I have opened the gate and garage doors for workmen from 300 miles away. Every night I can check to see if everything has been closed and locked up. The AP also alerts me if I forget to close the gate or garage doors at night. A really nice safety feature. Bottom line is that it works reliably and has turned out to be one of the most useful pieces of home automation that we have.

Not everything I had hoped for. Setting up the MyQ hub was easy. Setting up the home bridge for Siri support has been a nightmare. Chamberlain is trying to do the Apple approach: bundle everything you need in one place (the app) and don’t include any documentation with the hardware that you order. So, no explanation is given on indicator lights, buttons, or setup other than, ‘download our app’. That would be great if the app actually explained everything and how to set it up. For the home bridge that simply doesn’t exist in the app and I was directed by their support staff to perform steps totally not included in the app and STILL I get hit or miss on my garage door actually reporting correctly whether it is open or closed. They are sending out a new sensor so hopefully this will correct my issues there. Oh, one more thing, when their support staff say that they will email you something, don’t believe them. I’ve had to call back twice for things they said that they would send me in email and haven’t.

Saved me at my Apartment!!!. Every month somebody new moves into the apartment complex and they seem to always get a garage door remote that has the same frequency as mine. I store valuables in my garage and Many times I Have returned home only to see that my garage door has opened and been like that all day long. I bought this device and it is wonderful because it tells me on my phone as soon as my garage door is opened or closed. At least three times a week my garage door will open without me being home and I have the ability to now close the garage from my phone. I have also Lost my garage remote and or the battery has died on me. This is the only way I can get into my apartment, through the garage. My apartment complex people charge a $50 fee to let me in and now I can open the garage door from my phone if my battery dies or I lose the remote. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Simply an amazing device!!!

The app is broken... Every time I try to connect the MyQ device, the app keeps wanting to create a network using MyQ then because the network IS NOT MyQ but the network here is MY Network. The app keeps disconnecting my iPhone from my home network so it cannot link to the internet which is the ONLY network available here. There is NO cellular service so this phone ONLY works when connected to my network. I could not be connected to the App Store without my network. Your app needs to be fixed. Update: apparently the app and its setup components cannot be used when the business is closed, ie. “after their business hours”. This morning everything worked. The only difference was the time of day that I tried to set this system up. Read above for my opinions of late night installs. It was like their network was down because nothing worked. Today, everything worked perfectly. I have Gigabit Fiber so it was not my network, and never was.

Needs HomeKit and Shortcuts support. It has a watch app which is good. A problem with the watch app is that after every iPhone app update the watch app is signed out. iPhone app remains signed in. This should be fixed. I do not have this problem with other third party watch apps. This app needs the ability to send a simple notification if the garage door is not closed at X time (on a schedule). I’m not worried about triggering a notification if it is open for 3-4 hours (that’s common on weekends), rather just want to know if at 9 or 10 PM that the door is still open. I do not want to automate closing it because a SUV liftgate could be open which the safety sensors don’t see and the door will damage the liftgate before it stops (if it even stops at all). My Chamberlain B4603T garage door opener with MyQ needs HomeKit support so that I can see the status of the door from Apple Home on all my Apple devices. Also being able to tell Siri to close or open the garage door would be super helpful. Support for Home Assistant would also be a bonus.

Poorly designed App not reliable. I originally gave this app 4 stars but I’m down grading to 1 star since the app works maybe 25% of the time. I keep getting close error and according to the instructions, I’m supposed to hit the manual close to reset the system. OK, that worked the first time when my cleaning staff arrived. But then it happened again after they left. I’ve had this situation 3 times since it was installed 3 weeks ago. I ended up leaving the garage door open all night last night. The app said it was open but I had a close error when I tried to close it. Also had no confidence in the app since my cleaning staff confirmed they closed the door. I Figured the app was wrong and since I couldn’t open and close due to the error I left it alone. I still think something went wrong and the door opened on it’s own since the cleaning staff were adamant they closed the door. At this point, I have no confidence in the system and am seriously considering removing it altogether. Causing more pain than help.

Great app, but needs some fine tuning.. Overall it’s a great app and does what it’s supposed to, but there are some things that need to be addressed. I’ll only focus on my major gripe. When I set a schedule for the garage door to close at a certain time, like, let’s say 9pm. The door needs to be fully open (in the app’s technical terms, for it to work) not “stopped”. Anyone in the warmer parts of the country will understand that we vent (opening the garage door about 6” to get the cooler air in) the garage door, and doing so requires you to stop it at a certain height. The problem is, the app sees it as a “stop”, and will not close it at your set time, because it’s not fully “open”. The programmers need to fix this so no matter what, it closes the door at your set time. Life gets in the way and sometimes we forget that it’s open. I don’t want to worry about forgetting to close it, no matter what. You set a close time, close the door! Don’t care if it’s all the way open, half open, or any other mathematical equation. Just set it, and walk away.

Garage Camera Feature Doesn’t Work. For opening garage doors remotely and adding the module for my house that has an older door opener - MAGNIFICENT! I would give 5 stars. However, i added the camera to my shop with the 2 new liftmaster openers, the notifications come every 2 seconds night and day regardless of the sensitivity setting, next i will try repositioning the camera but I need the angle that covers the shop well for security. The major camera issue is trying to see the live feed when you receive the notification for movement. Forget it, the thieves will have taken everything by the time the live feed decides to show you an active image you could interact with, constant error pop-ups and the rotating circles of death while it’s thinking. I have disabled the notifications and stop trying to use it. Added note, if you can’t get the camera in live feed mode, you can’t turn off notifications! My neighbor is having a good laugh at me too... The bugs in the camera software so big you could make a science fiction movie about them. Please correct soon, I would love to update my rating and have it working, thank you.

Bad programming. I have a solid wifi network with mesh pods that were literally installed just to improve the signal in my garage. I have two myQ devices, one door opener that has wifi built in and one for door opener wifi adapter. Both sold by chamberlain for their garage doors. My first complaint is that neither device has an Ethernet option, this is ridiculous. Any device that isn’t mobile in nature should have an Ethernet port if it’s going to connect at all. The wifi is nice for people who don’t know how to run a wire or set up a proper network but for those of us that can handle basic networking the Ethernet option is a MUST HAVE V as it eliminates all the wifi problems. My second complaint is that the app has no way to check for a possible firmware update for either device or any way to contact customer service. My third complaint is that the door opener adapter never tries to reconnect to the wifi of it drops connection so if any wifi outage the door opener will NOT reconnect automatically when services are restored, this is just bad programming and should be fixed with a simple firmware upgrade that has a disconnected device try to reconnect every 30 minutes but again, no way to tell if they’ve created a firmware upgrade or not.

Love App & Product. I love the ability to see when the door opens/shuts and if we forget our keys when we run to the pool or if we want to walk neighborhood; we can just walk off and shut it with Apple Watch or iPhone and if a neighbor calls and says our garage is open we can shut it from anywhere as well as away from the home. I don’t have to go to the garage to manually/shut. We have been able to also share the app/set up codes for guests and contractors doing work who only need short time or one time access to the home/garage. Definitely a plus when wanting to track who is coming and going. Cameras are great for this as well but we like that we actually get the notification that the garage itself was accessed so then we know if we aren’t/we’re not expecting someone we can verify via the cameras we have installed. Would be great for elderly who live alone for their caretakers and family to help ensure they are safe24 hours or know when they come and go to ensure it’s them and not strangers or danger occurring.

Does what it's supposed to. App could use some feature enhancements. App does what it's designed to do. Opens and closes doors and provides a visual status when the app is open. Nothing more useful than that. Currently you can send an alert based on time only. ... (I.e. if door is opened or closed for x time send an alert). There is no way to send an alert based on a condition... (when the door is open send an alert every hour...IMO it would be significantly more useful). If you want to be notified every hour the door is open, you need to create one rule for every hour, for each door. (No way to copy rules from one door to another). If you want to be notified every hour the door is opened for the next 8 hours you'll need 8 rules for each door, and have to manually create all 24 rules, One at a time. There is also guest access that allows you to provide a limited number of guest users access to the app. Currently, there is no way to receive an alert if one of the guests opens or closes a door. I don't need an alert every time I open a door, but it would be nice if I were notified that someone with guest access opened the door. Even the history does not indicate how (or who) opened the door. It just indicates "opened."

Changes to App Not Explained. When app changed so garage doors went from slide horizontal to vertical stacked there were changes not explained well. It may have been a while ago since I do not auto update. Also when app quit working I delayed the reset and re-pair process. Also I am still looking for the flying machine for the top door on the list. LOL So I re-paired doors today. Yeck! Did not work. Standing on later looking at Hub I was about to try again when I slipped on app an poked the Blue “Open” instead of the door name. Dang thing worked!!! More experimentation showed pressing the name just armed and disarmed the bubble! A small pitched text saying “Press Open to open” or “Press close to close” would have guided user. Pop up bubbles on first use to guid would have also worked. This was a serious flat head moment! Reading other user reviews after upgrade to hope to find solution proves other had same issue! When you change thing, guide the user. This make for a much better experience! Suggestions: 1. I vote for Car Play integration. Just makes sense for anyone that drives with phone put away! 2. Allow users to select UI type. Vertically stacked random buttons or horizontal sliding pages that mimic real world. I obviously lean to horizontal. ;) Also, order DOES matter so either UI should allow user to order doors. I do love the app. Just want consistency OR guidance on new features. Thanks

Update requires screen double tap. Just a heads up to all that says it no longer works after the update. You have to double tap the screen on your phone for it to function. I went through endless trouble shooting techniques including all the normal delete, uninstall, reinstall both the app and the unit. I decided to just buy the updated smart hub kit since mine was the older series and thought it failed since the white led would light and the hub seemed unresponsive. As soon I got it all set up it had the same issue as my old one… My phone didn’t open or close the door but everything showed correct on the app. Well it turns out after forum searching they updated it to a double tap before it will function. Duh! No clue why that is not mentioned in the update notes. It just says bug fixes. Guess they got their money out of me for a new unit I didn’t need and I’m not taking it all back down and reinstalling the old at this point. Let’s see if the new unit and update works better on my Mitsubishi connect app? Will update if that changes.

Difficult to change networks. When I first install myQ it was reasonably straightforward and it worked. No problem for two years. Then I change routers and ISP and it was a disaster. I am no tech newbie. I worried in 3rd level data center support for a global computer mfr. I searched for weeks trying to figure out how to change my network settings. I tried the app and read article after article after article. No joy. None of their troubleshooting steps covers simply changing network settings. Finally deleted the devices and tried to re-add couldn’t find the net work. More articles .. no help. Finally found that going into the account -device management-hub-network settings I was able to change it. This is not visible during setup and heard to find. The technology was simple enough, but they just failed in their documentation to tell you how to change your WiFi network. 3stars because their poor doc cost me days of frustration. But in fairness, once you figure it out it works fine.

Buggy software works mostly. I am a software developer and I am comfortable with setting up this app and my home network. Firstly, I want to say that this app works once you have set it up correctly. It opens and closes the garage door as expected. However, it is less convenient to use than a standard garage door remote because with my phone I need to unlock it with face id, start the app, wait for it to connect, do another face id, wait for it to be ready, then tap open/close. In my experience, this app is prone to hangs (spinning circle forever) that can be fixed only by restarting the app. I have found that this happens 100% of the time if i use the app, put away my phone for a while (10 minutes or so), then try to use the app again. The app also hangs and fails most of the time if I try to use it through my apple watch. I think that it is a real shame that this simple app, that has just ONE JOB, can't do it reliably. But as I mentioned- if you fight it enough it will eventually work.

Unreliable connectivity; not suitable for primary door opener. I got this to replace an outside keypad figuring a 21st century upgrade was in order. I have been disappointed because despite having very powerful signal in my garage from a wireless range extender that allows me to stream movies and do zoom conference calls by video in the garage, this device, and/or the app tells me it is off-line about 20 or 30% of the time. If you tried to rely on this as your primary garage door opener/controller, you would be screwed and locked out of your garage, because you cannot reset the device to get connectivity without unplugging it and plugging it back in. This device does not appear to constantly scan for the available network. It logs in once and then if it does not detect the Netwerk for a brief period of time it becomes disconnected permanently until you physically intervene. This is completely unacceptable; however, I suppose I should not be surprised at this result, when a historically hardware-producing company ventures into the software and electronics/wireless realm - we see that time and again. There will be a learning curve and Chamberlain needs to get on the steep end of it and make this device-app work reliably. And stop blaming it on wireless signal and router problems.

Becoming an issue!!. First off…we’ve had this opener for 3 years now with no issues. Use the MyQ app and have always loved it. Worked well even with minimum WiFi in the garage. Haven’t had an issue. Now we changed out to a mesh system to provide better coverage of the entire house. The garage is pretty much screaming with wifi now. Have gone thru the reset process I don’t know how many times now and can’t get it to connect or even see the wifi. As soon as it connects to the opener WiFi to search for networks, the circle just spins and eventually says no networks detected….even though I have an Alexa in the garage that works fine and my phone shows good service. Tried removing the app and re-downloading…the app then was glitchy until I restarted my phone and seems to be fine. Still going to attempt a few more times but have pretty much ran out of options. Opener works and the vehicles can still open it, but the MyQ app is pretty much dead in the water now.

Will not connect to network. I am a tech savvy millennial and cannot for the life of me get this app to connect the opener to my router. It’s a smaller house (1600sf) and I have full bars in the garage, but I tried bringing the router closer to the opener anyway. I tried bypassing the app and using the unsecured web page version to connect, both on my phone and laptop. I tried resetting and replugging the opener. I see my network on the list, I enter the wifi password, and then it times out because it never connects. Only help the webpage offers is “make sure you’re entering the right password!” It is a brand new router and modem that are rated for speeds much higher than what I have so that can’t be the issue. Only the 2.4Ghz networks show up on the list so I’m not inadvertently trying to connect to 5Ghz. I refuse to add an access point router to the garage just for the stupid opener. Called Chamberlain and was connected to a real person who suggested I try changing some router settings, and if that didn’t work it might need a new part. Replied to his email after it didn’t help and never got a response. Replied again and never got a response. Don’t have the energy to call again. App and customer support are useless!!

New useless feature. This has been a great app and we use it to manage 4 doors. Recently they changed a feature that was really valuable and made it almost useless. We used to be able to get a warning when our garage door was open too long in case someone forgot to close it. This save us from frozen pipes, stolen goods etc. they changed it to now tel. You when the door has been closed for the same amount. These two are tied together and you can’t turn one off without disabling the other. The door open warning is useful and only triggered a few times a year. The door closed warning triggers every time you close the door which is several times a day and is a normal thing to do. I already have notifications when the door opens and closes. Being told the door is closed for 15 minutes is useless and scared us into thinking something is wrong. It also occurs do often we miss the real warning which is the door open too long. Please either separate the two warnings or remove the door closed warning. Why do I need to know the door has been closed for 15 minutes if I know it closed

New feature enhancement takes me to an advertisement when I try to open garage door…. My heart skipped a beat when I heard the notification sound associated with the garage door opening and knew none of us had triggered the door to open. Had someone broke in?! A shot of adrenaline as I reached for my phone to confirm the notification. Was the door opening?! No… It was an advertisement. I ALREADY BOUGHT YOUR GARAGE DOOR OPENER. In what world do you need to advertise in this way to a customer you already succeeded in selling to? Whoever thought that was a great idea should be fired. Update1: App is still sending notifications for advertising. Update2: App still sending notifications for advertising. Update3: After recent app update with ‘feature enhancements’ now my Home shows up as usual with the garage door selections and as soon as I go to press the top door they all drop down and the topmost is replaced with an advertisement. My finger already in motion, instead of opening the door I’m taken to an advertisement. I can assure you I will never purchase anything I see as a result of this ‘feature’ and frankly we’re way past the point we’re I would ever consider recommending any product from your company.

Continuously works intermittently. Updated app and the view selection in the top right hand corner disappeared. So I cannot select the view which shows just a specific garage door. This was the only view my doors would work in. The list view that shows all of the doors does not work and has never worked for me and yes Ali know two taps. Beyond that there are days I come home the doors won’t work with app. Once I was locked out of the house when I came home and due to security bar on the door I couldn’t get in with the key. It took me knocking on the bedroom window and scaring the crap out of my wife to get her to wake up and let me in. After that I always have the garage opener with me. I think that defeats the purpose of this whole setup. Please bring back the view selector on the app or fix the app so It works properly. Twitter layer off a bunch of engineers so you can get some of them to help you fix your app. Not happy locked out in the cold.

Asks me to resign in. Don’t need to be fiddling with an app when trying to get on the road. Randomly just forced me to re-sign in on my way out, and it took a while because I make all of my passwords randomized due to security reasons. It should not be asking me to sign in again for any reason when I’m trying to get back in or leave. It takes two taps to open or close the garage door after opening the app. Wish there was an option to press it once, or toggle that option. Would also be nice to have a widget or option for quick access bar on iOS. Lastly, I see no option to turn off the obnoxiously loud beeping noise it makes when it’s closing. There was one instance where the app just completely got stuck in an unresponsive loop where it wouldn’t respond to anything, door opening, etc. There also isn’t an option to set the garage door to close after a certain amount of time has passed when using the app to open. So if I come home, use the app in my car to open the door, I can’t tell it to automatically close after 2 mins. I never tested to see if it will eventually close, but I see no option to adjust or turn on that feature at all. Beyond that, the app is a useful way of remotely opening and closing the door. It’s just missing a surprising number of basic features that would make this a true smart app.

Garbage App. This app has gotten progressively worse. It is now garbage. As time passes, the app is having more and more issues. There are several times when I am having connectivity issues on the app when my Wi-Fi and phone are perfectly fine. The app becomes non-responsive. There have been times where I’ve had to sign out and sign back in just to get the app to work. There are times where the app opens and I press the button to open or close the garage and nothing happens. The latest that’s happening today is that the app opens but it will not let me sign in. I keep getting error messages. I’ve tried rebooting my phone, deleting the app and reinstalling it, and it is not working. It is absurd that a smart home device that is regularly used by people has so many issues with the app that is the main source of control of the device. When the app does work, I hate opening the app and seeing ads first thing the ads in no way, make me interested in purchasing any more products from this company. Get rid of them. I’m sure I’m not the only one who just wants a simple clean homepage for the app. Between the app, not working and the ads this will very likely be my last purchase from this company.

Works 98% of the time!. I really like it since I live in a town home and the neighbors garage is under no bedroom and so it sometimes makes it hard to decipher whose garage it is so it gives me the ease of mind that it’s not my house and I have been able to open it from work one day when someone was dropping stuff off at the house and that was awesome! I love that it was a timer and everything, there have been a few times now that forever reason it had to think about whether or not there was an internet connection with it and it couldn’t connect so I had to unplug it and reply it back I and that worked, I also reset my one garage opener for my parents house for it to do my house and their house and so now I have that as a back up, next I just need to find something similar for the front door lock with being that I like to go on walks and my car doesn’t take a key I don’t always think about my keys and I’m soon going to be a first time mom and I’m sure there will be many times that I run out the garage to walk the baby and it will be super nice to not have to worry about anything other then my phone, definitely would recommend it!

It’s great as an additional remote but.... The MyQ smart system is very helpful because I only have the two keychain remotes that came with Chamberlin’s kit. I had no physical switch outside the garage door to open it and I have no doorway access from inside the house. That meant some unneeded exercise if I forgot to hit the remote inside my house (the other one of course, is in the car). I would have to climb back up two flights to hit the button. So it’s handy as an additional remote by using the MyQ app on my phone. But I found out the hard way that the app sometimes freezes once it leaves your home wifi and before it picks up your cell network. In one case, I was riding in my wife’s car and when we drove away, the app indicated that the garage door was open. However, the app was frozen and I couldn’t close the garage from 3 blocks away (and even the physical remote wouldn’t have worked that far away). We had to circle back(and it turned out the door was open). I got out and hit the button inside the garage. When I got back in the car I looked at the app. It was working again since my phone was picking up my home WiFi. This is something that needs to be addressed in a future software update. The app will be useless if it only operates in the same proximity as a push button remote. I do appreciate that it indicated that the door was open so I could return to close it. But, I shouldn’t have had to do that, right?

Won’t stay connected. Didn’t buy the unit because of the wireless ability, but after the unit was installed I figured the connection would be handy. Installed a router extension device to insure good signal strength. Confirmed wireless signal was good, with both my iPhone as well as an Alexa unit; both indicate strong signal. So I follow the menu instructions, get the garage door opener connected to the wireless and everything looks fine. Open the garage door from the smart phone app and thought, yeah this is pretty cool. Then suddenly the signal on the app shows no connection to the wireless and the garage door no longer responds. I repeat the install procedure several more times, each time with the same result;the wireless will stay connected for maybe up to one minute and then disconnects. So I call the garage door company that installed the LiftMaster unit and they have a technician come out. After he tries and gets the same result several times he tells me that, “the wireless devices in these openers really aren’t very good, the technology is way behind the times, and you’re just not gonna be able to use the wireless feature”. End of story. WTH?? I needed a garage door opener capability for my H-D bike, so spent another 40 bucks and bought a small profile remote opener. While I don’t really absolutely need this MyQ feature, it still pisses me off that it doesn’t work.

You must start over if you change your password - app needs better instructions. My initial installation worked just fine so I know I have everything set up correctly. However, after I changed my wifi password and tried to update my app to the new password, it would never connect. I expected the app to find my wifi signals because I have 4 strong signals. In fact, there are dozens of wifi signals in my neighborhood, and none of them were visible in this application, except the My Q wifi signal, during the connect phase of the installation process. 19 Feb 20 update: I have discovered that whenever you change your wifi password, you must use the Black Adjustment Button on the motor housing to erase your wifi network and start over as if it is a brand new installation. In other words, once you connect to a wifi network for the first time, you will never see any other wifi networks in the app. The application should include a note with this key piece of information for people who routinely change their wifi passwords for security reasons. It probably also applies if they upgrade their routers. The instruction manual should also be updated to inform customers that you must erase your wifi network from the garage door opener and start over if you change your password or router. I thought you could just enter ‘learn’ mode, re-select your wifi network and update the password. You can’t.

Works great, until it doesn’t. Came back to update that the Tesla integration very often breaks. It’ll just say “Error” and I have to open or close the garage using either the app or a remote. The Tesla integration is also supposed to close the door without flashing the light first, but it ALWAYS flashes the light, so I have to sit there and wait to make sure it’s going to close. I’m trying to redo the connection in my car but I just get a spinner that never goes away. Original review: This app is really nice for if you want to make sure the garage door is closed when away from home, getting notifications when it opens and closes, and even for automatic opening and closing if you have a Tesla. HOWEVER, when their servers go down, like they are right now, NOTHING WORKS. I don’t have the remote in my car anymore since my car can open and close the garage door and I have the app on my phone as backup, so I get home and the door doesn’t open, the app gives me errors, the website gives me errors. Luckily I have a keypad next to the door otherwise I’d be locked out of my house until they figured out how to have a stable system!

CKB. Had some difficulty getting opener to connect to wi fi. After several attempts still no luck. Gave up frustrated and decided it wasn’t worth the effort. Months later I decided to try to connect again and still no luck. Now I have decided I’m going to figure this out one way or another. Folks, I’m not tech savvy if you haven’t already figured that out and I normally don’t accept defeat and call customer support. This time would be no different. I read all the directions instead and discovered I needed a wi fi extender because of the distance from my router to the opener. Purchased the wi fi extender for about $30 and installed it between my router and opener and followed instructions from there and was able to connect up and it works exactly as advertised. My garage is detached from my house so I it is very convenient at times to go to my phone which is always on me to open or close door instead of manually going over to push control button or carrying around a separate remote. It works well and is convenient. Also the backup battery helped when we lost power a while back. I highly recommend this product for residential use.

Good app, but missing some features. I appreciate that I can quickly open and close my garage door with this app. It also gives me peace of mind to be able to double-check that I closed the garage door. However, a key piece of functionality that this app is missing is the ability to set recurring alerts when the door is left open. Ideally, I would like to be able to set an interval - for example, “Alert me if my garage door has been open for more than 10 minutes, and then alert me again every five minutes it continues to be open.” However, I would like to be able to snooze / acknowledge these alerts if I am working in my garage. For example, maybe have a dialog that opens and says, “Your garage has been open for 10 minutes. Do you want to snooze this alert for 30 minutes, or do you want to close your garage door?” This would allow me to feel more secure in knowing that I have not accidentally missed an alert, while also giving me a level of control over the alerts so that they do not get annoying.

Customer. Hello to everyone at my queue, I just want to thank you for the convenience service of being able to control my Garage from a distance and also getting the notifications when the garage doors are opening or closing on my phone. It really is a convenient service that everyone should have as part of their home, especially if you are not home all the time or are on the go. I like to say thank you to the customer service center for helping me navigate the install of my garage door openers and setting up the website on my phone as well as being very responsive when I had an issue or when I needed to order a new garage door remote I think my next purchase with them will be a garage camera that I will be able to access through my phone. I like to think all of the men and women for that they have done. Thank you.

Unsolicited ads get in the way.. I do like this app in general, and find it very useful. However, as of late, they have decided to start putting ads at the very top of the app in her face. What happens is when you open the app, you see your garage doors and start pressing the buttons to open them or close them. Before you can finish, pressing the button to open or close your door, their ads pop up in exactly the same spot as your top device. This causes you to mistakenly opened one of their ads rather than controlling your device. You have to then close out of their ad to get back to what you were trying to do in the first place. Very inconvenient when you were trying to get somewhere or when you are dealing with hot Arizona Summers and trying to close your garage door as soon as possible. They are obviously placing it there on purpose so that you cannot avoid them and will mistakenly opened them. Again, I will continue to use the app and put up with the frustration, but it is making me more likely to switch to another brand.

Fantastic But Inconsistent.... Most of ther smart home apps are crappy. I find they have poor UI, don't play nice with each other and don't do things you really need. Varies by app and provider - and I'm STILL bitter about thew whole Wink fiasco. Turds! But MyQ more or less does what it's supposed to. The inconsistency I mention is somewhere between phone and Apple watch - I'd like to use the watch app to open the garage door when I go out on my bike - but often it'l load, spin interminably and never resolve - so I use the keypad or phone app - actually I'd love it if there was a Garmin bike computer widget... Anyway, that's the only negative - along with the annoying battery cover for the standalone myq open/closed sensor - and the fact the app always defaults to that sensor rather than the door opener - which would be more useful. Maybe it's a setting but I can't find it. Anyway, it works 90% of the time making it the best smart home app I have. Which is a good thing in bad company.

Great app and a few suggestions. This app is convenient for the garage door opener I bought to replace a ryobi opener. This can eliminate the need for remotes and can connect to other accessories, but some of my family members prefer to use remotes because they feel like it is more faster to just push a button instead of having to open their phone and go to MyQ and tap/hold a button to open the door. I also noticed a garage opener health section in the diagnostics and there are some things it can have so you can know more about your opener and etc. You could make it so it can display how much force it takes to open your door and shows the rpm, this could be useful to garage door technicians and homeowners to learn more about the opener and have more information to determine what is going on. You could also make it so you can change speeds for DC motors only. Some doors can’t handle being opened at fast speeds and can cause more wear and tear to the opener and door, or if the door is ok with fast speeds. Last, make it so you can change the force settings of the opener. This can sound risky because it could make your door more dangerous, so add a warning message so that it can ask if the homeowner knows what they’re doing, and acknowledge the risks. Also make it so that the force reverts back to normal overtime.

Excellent Product !. I have used MyQ for about one year . It works flawlessly always , I do not have a Chamberland door system and it is superior to what my garage door / opener company sells and supposedly does the same thing . I highly recommend MyQ !!! MyQ uses a button battery in the garage door OPEN / CLOSED sensor unit that attaches to the garage door . I hope they could update the system with a battery charge level status indicator . As it is now the battery has to be removed from the sensor unit and either checked for charge status or discarded and replaced with a new battery regardless of the level of charge / discharge . I have connected my MyQ system to my RING battery home security system which does have battery charge status indicators ; so it may be possible . I live in the upper Midwest and have no desire to try to check / change batteries in subzero winter temperatures .

Apple Watch App is Almost Perfect. The Apple Watch MyQ app is a great addition to your line of products. However, there’s a couple of things that would be better if they were modified. For people with two garages, it would be nice if you could choose which garage shows up first in the app. In other words, on my Watch I’d like to see the garage door I use when I open the Watch App. It’s an additional, and possibly unsafe maneuver to have to look at the Watch, and then slide the face to the left to see the garage door I wish to open. It would be ideal if the user could choose which one they always want to see first so, they could have the one they use always be the one that shows first on their Watch, and their spouse could have the other garage always show up first on their Watch. Eliminating the “snap back” to the first door after sliding over to use the second door would eliminate the problem. Let the user slide to the door that they use, and have the app make that one always the one that shows for that user. That change would be a great addition, and add more safety when you’re trying to select a door while the car is in motion.

Alert when garage door left open. This would be an EASY 5 star review *IF* there were an alert function when the garage door is left open. If someone forgets to close the garage door when leaving, the only way to know is to have notifications set for every time the garage door is both opened *and* closed, and to check every time the door is opened to confirm it’s closed, and if the door doesn’t alert closed after it was opened then you know it wasn’t closed. This is a design flaw in my opinion. There should be an option to set an alert to receive a notification after the door has been open for a specific amount of time. I’m dinging the app review down to 3 stars because I think this is a pretty big flaw. I will change my review to 5 stars if the alert issue is corrected. Other than the lack of notification when the garage door is left open, the app is easy to use, installation was a breeze (after realizing the “learn” setting on my Liftmaster required a double tap of the learn button), and I even added a second door sensor so both my bays are covered. Functionality and performance are excellent. Overall I highly recommend this product/app.

Only works half the time when opening and closing after latest update. This app used to work consistently. Now it does not. If I want to open the garage with the app, I have to open it, hit open, Close the app, open the app again, then hit open. Only then will the garage open. If I want to close it after opening the door, I can’t do it after opening it. I have to close the app after I JUST USED IT to open the door, then i have to open the app again, and hit the button to close it. Holy smokes this is so annoying it’s even annoying to have to type it. The only reason I gave it two stars is because my garage was “phantom opening,” which I’m still not 100% sure isn’t caused by this app, and I could create scheduled closed in phantom Opened in the middle of the night, which is really freaky, but also nice that I can automatically schedule garage closes in case it opens. In short, app open close only works 1/2 the time. Schedules are nice. Not sure if this app causes phantom opens or not. Could be a faulty wire from the switch on my wall. Still checking that out.

Random openings. I am very pleased with MyQ. It works great. I have had it for over two years. Nov, 2022 - it has been four months since I unlinked MyQ and Ring. There have not been any random openings during this time. I believe that the problem is related to Ring not MyQ. July, 2022 - it has been a month since I unlinked MyQ and Ring. No random openings so far. I will continue to report for the next few months. June, 2022 - I have had MyQ since June, 2020. It has worked well and notifies me of opening and closings through their app. About a year ago I linked the MyQ with Ring. I have experienced occasional random openings of the garage door. Both the Ring and MyQ apps notify me of the action. It has happened both day and night. I am able to close the garage door remotely when I receive a notification. I have recently unlinked MyQ from Ring to determine if there is an issue related to their being linked. I will update with my findings in a few months.

Thank you. Thank you to the designers and updaters of the app. Had this most recent update not come through when it did I wouldn’t have looked closer at chamberlain owners of the garage door opener and I wouldn’t have closely read their privacy policy where I learned the extent at which this app, their website and my garage door opener itself has been violating my privacy and personal data for profit. It’s to bad they don't feel confident enough in making their product to ask for the amount of money needed to stay afloat and instead opt to charge a large sum for the product and then collect and sell user data indefinitely. It’s too bad that pretty much by a level below a monopoly in the industry isn’t enough. Shame on them. But thank you to app developers since I now see the extent at which this app has violated my privacy and I only which I could see how much money I made chamberlain so I could send them a bill that makes the transaction accurately reflect my experience with this app. HINT: I’m owed money

No Aus support for Google Assistant. Easy to setup and reliable, login a tad slow. Main complaint is seemingly no Australian support for Google Assistant which means I can’t ask my home mini to open/close the door.

Great but expensive and sometimes doesn’t work. This app is amazing but also expensive Sometimes however there are times when it does not open and u have to redo the garage installation

Won’t link to google. Online states the product will link to google even the App saying it links to google but it doesn’t..... I bought this product mainly for that function and now left having to buy an additional controller. Support For Home Assistant has not been taken away. So not only was the advertising on the packaging false but now the only work around has been blocked by them. Will never again buy any products from a company that misrepresents its products

Just Ok. The actual app is ok, for some reason it keeps sending multiple notifications when the door is opened once. I have been trying to resolve the issue but so far to no avail. The company Chamberlain which is part of MyQ is not easy to get hold of the get support. I wouldn’t say it’s great but it’s not the worst.

Slow response. The app is very slow to log in and the is significant lag between the command to open the door and response from the door hardware. This happens on solid high speed broadband and 4g connections. Also the app and hardware does not support Google Home or Apple HomeKit in Australia even with additional bridges yet this support is offered in the USA and Canada.

A Joy. great app, works beautifully. Just wondering whether you could kindly take us to the next level to have the app on Home kit or CarPlay please Thank you

Goodbye MyQ - Forced ads and no loyalty to customers.. The Chamberlain myQ smart garage door opener is now blocking access by Homebridge, Home Assistant, and other third-party apps. It follows the company last year discontinuing the myQ Home Bridge Hub, which made the door opener HomeKit compatible. The motivation for the move appears to be to force people to use Chamberlain's own app, so that they will be exposed to the ads run in it. Enjoy your temporary platform users (by force) while everyone sources a different product (from a company who doesn’t act hostile towards its loyal customers) and moves away from your products and brand.

Great Function. Always find it handy as I frequently forget to close the garage

App needs work and google assistant / Siri. Great for knowing if I’ve closed door or not. Would be great if it worked with google or Siri. As usual all that stuff works in USA but not here. Don’t know why they bother having it on the App...... it just disappoints in this department

Change. Why did it have to change ! Why can’t we have a tick to automatically login ?

Can’t delete my account. A required field is not visible on the form to delete my account so I am unable to press submit. Also how is it even possible it takes 30 days for you to action this request.

Terrible!. Doesn’t work with Siri. You need to login ever time you want to use it. Bought the system to have a “smart garage” and have it open as we approach. What you have to do is: 1. Stop. 2. Login. 3. Click on open. Quicker to get the remote out of your pocket and use that. Pointless - waste of money.

Just Works. Unlike most rubbish this garage door controller just works, simple and always ready, 10/10 from me

Scheduling no longer working. The scheduled close used to work flawlessly but now it cannot be setup because of a know issue. Disappointed We have identified a system issue with MyQ Garage and Scheduling. For garage door openers that require a door sensor, we have seen low batteries prevent the door from closing as scheduled. Since security is our top priority we are disabling the schedule-to-close feature to all MyQ Garage users until further notice. We are working to address and fix this system issue. For more details, please refer to this FAQ 1. MyQ Scheduling and MyQ Garage FAQ

Removing functionality. This company sold one thing then removed the functionality so they can serve you ads. Broke good integration with the rest of my house and made things harder, functionality I asked for them sold the solution and chose this solution over another. Would not buy again.

Quite buggy. Watch app very buggy. Very slow to load. Often gets stuck trying to connect. Worst smart app I have I. Terms of reliability. Watch app takes a long time to become active then only works 50% of the time. I cannot rely on this app.

Open sesame. The use of MyQ makes opening and closing my roller door extremely easy. My only problem is that the app often fails to connect or has an incorrect door status. Perhaps this is due to my shed/door being around 50 metres from the house.

App OK, hardware untidy & clunky. App itself seems to work well. There’s a bit of lag time, perhaps due to internet bandwidth but it’s convenient to be able to open / close the door from another location and to get notifications. The hardware itself is clunky and untidy. On the Merlin motor, there are a mess of wires and a circuit board is exposed now - poor tech installer skills or is it just what it is? The part that connects to the mode is also clunky and if on a Google Nest or similar routers stingy with network ports, one will need a port replicator or network switch. Not all installers know that

Needs CarPlay integration. App works well but requires you to fidget with your phone when driving. Having CarPlay integration would allow simple control from the cars integrated head unit making it easier and safer.

Screwed up the update. Woth recent update in the past few days; You have left out the folk who use the app to open their door and not a ‘wifi’ wall door opener. We are now kicked off app and can’t reconnect. We use the iPhone app and a battery old school wall mounted remote. What have u done????

Slow to login. Very slow to login. Frustrating when just needing to open garage door, even on our fast Wi-Fi network. This has been an issue with every version of this app.

Works well. But where is Apple Car Play support?!?. App works fine and setup was simple. But where is the Car Play support?!? Makes no sense to not have this functionality.

Solid but very basic. The functionality is solid but missing features that wold elevated the app to be “smart” vs a basic opener. For example, addition of CarPlay would be *amazing* to enable easy opening without a remote or; ability to pause the door for longer than the usual auto close timer when you’re remotely taking a delivery.

Update Has Made the System Useless. Used to be able to open the garage door without sensors This worked perfectly for us as we only wanted to be able to open our door when we came home. Now we cannot even do that without installing the sensors which isn’t really possible with our setup. Has rendered the whole system useless. Terrible update.

Amazing Garage Door !. Highly highly recommend this system , easy to install on your phone and super easy to use . Love it !

no Siri and Apple Car Play. would this product not perfect for Siri and Apple Car Play. In Australia they are not. I guess someone in the Dev. team was not realy into technology. Disappointed

Garage door motor with smartphone app.. Brilliant let’s me know the state of my garage door, especially when I just drove off. 😀

Great when it works. The idea of being able to see when my garage door is opened or closed is great. Not having to carry my remote or keys to get in the house is also great. Except that most of the time the stupid app won’t log in! When it does it’s great but getting it to log in is tedious and difficult and requires a lot of patience, which is frustrating when I am on the bus and can’t remember if I closed the garage door. Then you get in and it’s great for a while until it logs you out and you have to go through the pain of trying to log back on.

Just OK. Have been using this for a week now. I keep getting a message that says “It looks like there have been too many failed attempts. Please operate the door locally to reset”. The message appears after I first open the app and before even one attempt to operate the door. Usually happens when the door is closed and I want to open it. If you ignore the error message and tap on “OK” it then works

Works 60% of the time. This app is great when it works, but that’s only about 60% of the time. The rest of the time it’s either incredibly slow to open the garage door or won’t work at all. And the Apple Watch integration is worse. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve reinstalled it on the Watch to make the app remember that it’s there. I just can’t rely on this to get into my garage.

Too slow. The app it far too slow to respond when accessing it! Most time I have to close it several times for it to work properly. Was using an iPhone 6s and an iPhone 12 Pro! No difference between either phone.

Review. Wish it worked in CarPlay but it’s good none the less

Removal of web interface in breach of sales commitment. Whilst the app often works we extensively used the web app which is documented in the manual and sales material which was removed without (not legal to advertise a product performs a feature then remove it after sale, this is called bait and switch) Aalso in our region (Australia ) we don’t have access to Alexa or google functionality here and the API seems to break often enough to not be able to stability use it via automation platforms. Changes to the app recently have messed up notifications. Also disappointed that there are no products to add myQ to devices like slide gates (still) and there new release uses the most expensive beam system we’ve ever seen. Need the company to address these concerns.

All round well setup but missing Siri Shortcuts. All round well designed app and clear setup and operations. Setup of users are good, but would be worthwhile including what a user can/can’t do before making them a co-owner or family and friends. Key feature missing is to be able to use Siri to open a specific carafe door or close it. Shortcuts should be available for this app for this function.

Review. Takes far too long to log on. Should be instantaneous with touch or Face ID. Local security and not always going to back end

Perth, Australia. Cons: App is too slow to connect to be useful when approaching home, despite being on 4G & high speed broadband. I just use my remote control. Timezone is set up as Australia/Perth, however notification time states ‘garage door closed hh:mm’ where hh:mm is 1 hour behind local time. Support articles only advise to select correct Timezone, no resolution (yet) when Timezone is already correctly set. Pros: Garage door status is reliable. I am able to open my garage door when I’m not home. Notifications set up to tell me when garage door opens/closes. Nightly door close set up at 8pm, just in case.

App is … fine. But this company refuses to integrate with the HomeKit ecosystem for “safety reasons”, despite many others finding a way. This app allows remote activation of the door, even though this is one of the “safety” concerns give as to why they won’t work with HomeKit. They have even gone as far as blocking API access for 3rd parties. I really don’t want to have to launch this app EVERY time I need to open the door, when I could just ask Siri. Bad play!

Signing in. Often have to re-sign in again

Annoying. Won’t stay logged in, every time I open the app expecting to just use Face ID, it’s reverted back to using email and password, I bought this brand so I could use my phone but logging in each time is so annoying, I just use the remote, upgrade was a waste of money.

Great app but too slow…. Fantastic app, thanks! However, needs to be faster. Should be able to open doors immediately. A long delay is frustrating just when you need the app the mosr.

Very poor effort from a big player. So slow. Wants to connect/login every time you go to use it. You constantly find yourself waiting around outside the garage door for it to do it’s thing before you get to the opening screen. Also does not work with Siri or Google in the Australian version of the app.

It doesnt work in old phones. Is it posible to in iPhone 5? I dont want to buy a new phone. But the version i have is an old one and it doesnt work. In fact is the only aplication i have that doesnt work

Great App. Having this app has really helped with being able to control it remotely using the phone and also updates about the garage remaining open etc etc. Worth the money.

Useful but room for improvement.. Purchased our Merlin opener with MyQ believing it was HomeKit compatible - It’s not in Australia! You can’t use Siri to open the garage. Frustrating when walking back with hands full. The watch app has improved vastly - it now usually works. The iPhone app is slow requiring it to log in every time you open the app.

Nude app. Works well every time. Can easily check the status of the door, open and close remotely and get alerts when it’s left open. Only update that is needed is CarPlay integration so I can open/close from car dashboard screen.

Improvements. Can we get CarPlay added so I can open the door from my CarPlay screen. Also like to see Siri support to open door. Then happy to change to 5star

Very Disappointing. We replaced a perfectly good garage door opener to upgrade to the myQ option so holiday rental guests can collect their keys at the property. It seemed to function as advertised for a couple of days but then became impossible for new temporary users to load a functioning version of the app. From what I can gather after several customer support calls (some unanswered, probably due to too many calls), there was a software upgrade that has made the simple quite difficult. I now have to send a separate email (including 11 screen shots) to help guests navigate the app. This problem has existed for week and is still not fixed. Don’t buy myQ unless you get them to send you an invite to be a temporary user so you can see that they have made it simple again.

Convenient but could do with voice control. After installing the app I realised there was no voice control functionality. When I googled, it seemed that the American version had an option to add Siri but not the Australian one. To enable voice command, one would have to get the HomeKit.

MyQ is anti Apple users. MyQ doesn’t play with Apple HomeKit and worse still MyQ have taken steps to stop other developers apps like HomeBridge (who developed a workaround) from working. Time will tell if MyQ wise up and integrate with HomeKit for free. But if they force a subscription, my business will ditch Chaimberlain/Merlin solutions and cease recommending to customers.

Won’t open or close door. Got the gateway setup by the garage installation contractor. Garage works well but the app will only notify me when it opens and closes, the app can’t do it! Contractor can’t figure it out either, tried multiple gateways. Really disappointing.

Terms of service. Anybody read the terms for an app before downloading it? You better, as this app states you agree to the TOS just by downloading the app. You’re giving up so many of your rights including the right to sue them for any reason, or to join a class action, and to pay out of your own pocket to indemnify them. They also state they can start charging for the app whenever they want. I bought a Liftmaster unit and wanted the features, but they don’t tell you the TOS for this app when you buy. I’m disappointed in Liftmaster and incensed at this developer. I hope giving away your rights is worth using your phone to open the garage.

Unsure how the average rating is so high. This app has very few features and is terrible to try to set up with Apple Watch. It’s laggy to connect to the door motor as well.

Doesn’t Work. Watch app just says “loading devices” and nothing ever loads.

Very nice!. Very responsive! Will surely recommend to prospective buyers who want to monitor if they have left their garages open or close. Likewise for others who want to give temporary access to their garages.

Ready to return $700 opener because of POS app!!!. Literally can’t even register an account because the app glitches and doesn’t give you an option to type in your information, unreal!! Gives me insight of how the app will operate… I think it’s a sign to not even waste my time because the last thing I want is the door opening on its own like many other people complained about!

Too easy to activate by mistake.. Removed the app because it opened my door by accident and my neighbor had to do a welfare check and close the door. I will stay with the old school remotes.

Not available on CarPlay. It is a must to make this app available on CarPlay. Or you have to meddle with your phone which is not safe. Must be able to keep garage door 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 open from the app. These two are must have features… hope they bring them soon…

Greedy anti-consumer behavior. Chamberlain has removed the ability for plugins like Homebridge to control the garage door in HomeKit. I will not be recommending any chamberlain products to anyone I know. This changes has actively made my everyday interaction with my garage opener form good to terrible. There is no reason to close the APIs SHAME ON CHAMBERLAIN WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANY CHAMBERLAIN PRODUCT INCLUDING ALL RELATED BRANDS

Absolute Crap. When I first bought the MyQ opener for my garage I loved it. But since then it has gone downhill. I had a routine all set, open garage door turn on lights unlock back door, but now they took away the ability to integrate it within in any smart home software. Looking into other options. DO NOT BUY!!

Not Very User Friendly. It is not very user friendly. Have yet to be able to use it as I keep getting errors and unable to find answers to these errors. Have emailed and have had no reply. Should really be an actual user manual included either package and not a basic install and function book. We have no idea what it can do and how it operates as there are no complete instructions on you website or with the opener.

Everything is behind a Paywall. I didn’t use to mind MyQ garages since there was workaround available to integrate it into other smart home platforms. Recently with MyQ tightening their API it has made the whole ecosystem pay to play. Want integration in your Tesla? pay. Want IFTT? Pay. HomeKit completely axed and probably because they couldn’t tie a subscription to it. I now really regret purchasing MyQ openers and now am working on gaining local FREE control through other products. Smart Home devices like these should not be hidden behind paywalls, it defeats the purpose of a Smart Home when there’s so many separate ecosystems. MyQ’s greed will be their demise when users start (and currently) leaving their platforms and apps.

Won't integrate. Chamberlain has shut down integrations with other systems for their own profit. Worked fine for several years and they pulled the rug. Other solutions available, and this app sucks.

Bad Ecosystem. I will be leaving MyQ behind - I am disappointed they changed the ecosystem to block third parties without providing any alternatives. I bought the system because it worked and now I will be going out of my way to leave it and also warning others to avoid it.

Missing one great feature. Love the app but it would be awesome if you had a slider that would open the door in percentage increments of 5%. That would get it to 5 stars.

Third-Party Integration. Recent attempts to block third-party integration are troublesome to say the least, and one more nail in the coffin. There are better options out there, and if Chamberlain doesn’t smarten up, I urge you to look elsewhere. They are clearly looking for a cash grab over actually supporting their customers and their needs.

Clumsy and slow. The app is so slow to respond to changes from the GDO, switches and lamp modules. A command from the app takes forever to action. I had it up to here with the stupid ads and the clumsy layout.

Not working. App asks to connect to Bluetooth. Then makes me register an account, when I try to register an account I keep getting a server error. So now I can’t connect to the garage in my house because they need me to have an account which doesn’t work.

MyQ garage door opener. MyQ has been offline for over a year and nothing I do fixes it. Disappointed

Why not Apple Car play app. I have been using this app for years, and it works fine. But why isn’t it a CarPlay app, I can’t think of a place I use it more than in my car?? …………2023 still not a car play app, I have to disconnect from carplay to make the app work

Not reliable. We have this installed for our garage - which we use quite frequently in the day. It’s been frustrating bc it doesn’t always work despite the fact we have extremely strong internet and signals on our phones

They killed 3rd party integrations. Worked fine until they decided to not allow 3rd party integrations. Now it won’t with HomeKit.

Poor networking. App is not very good at networking. If I open the door, I have to kill the app and restart to close it, otherwise the app just “spins” forever. Also, why do I have to unlock the app to log in with my face every time? The only use case for the app is to pull out your phone, use the app, and put your phone away. So you have to unlock the phone with FaceId, then unlock the app with faceID. That’s just dumb. Wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t have to kill the app between uses. Pretty sad experience overall.

Basic with poor UI. Chamberlain makes their app terrible in hopes you’ll upgrade to their MYQ monthly service for it not to be stupid. You can schedule door closings, but you can’t schedule door closings. You can’t reorder the garage doors in your list. You can’t integrate with Alexa, even through 3rd party apps as Chamberlain breaks any api’s being used by third parties as a work around. All to get me to subscribe to their monthly service. They give you a half baked “connected” garage door opener and then don’t provide what is considered very basic functions. It’s not like they can’t do it. They just want you to pay for what should’ve been included in the most basic element of the device. At the other end, the app is generally stable with few outages. The recently updated single click to open is causing havoc with accidentally opened garage doors. If you click on the garage door as part of an upward swipe motion, it will activate the garage door, despite not being a touch, but a swipe. My garage door in the city was open all day because of this. Had my neighbors send me an email letting me know. But, I was able to close ot through the app.

Consumer hostile. Chamberlain should stick to making their devices and apps consumer oriented rather than deliberately breaking down features like homekit compatibility for the sake of pursuing an all elusive subscription model. Whoever devised that strategy will be long gone by the time the economic fallout of these decisions impact the company but they’re basically digging their own graves and opening a massive door to the competition (pun intended)

No Siri or HomeKit support. Would also be nice to be able to open the door just 5% or some small amount.

Username Change Orphan. I upgraded my network a year ago and had to change my network username - and haven’t been able to connect with Q ever since. Very disappointing to say the least

Off line. We have been OFF LINE for 247 DAYS!! Tried fixing it, deleting the app and adding it back, called support-got no support, yup!! Whats the point!!!

App for Watch. I often have random trouble with the Apple Watch application. Like no responding at all

Terrible connectivity to wifi. I had this device and it worked for a year and then it stopped working

Killed API access to Home Assistant users. Can’t be trusted, killed API access to Home Assistant users. They’ll hold your device hostage even though you own it.

Poor home automation integration. Poor home automation integration requiring you to use a phone app and offsite integration. This means if the internet goes down you can only open the door with a remote or wall switch. I discovered this when i came home and couldn’t open the door to enter my house. On top of that they used to allow api access for home automation software, but have since decided to block access to anyone who isn’t using their app or paying them a fee (like Tesla owners). So now i have three smart garage door openers that i purchased that are functionally equivalent to a dumb device unless i use their app or purchase a subscription through them or one of their approved partners. Unfortunately i have owned them for too long to get a refund.

Poor API support. MyQ is actively working against the home automation community. I bought their hardware, it works for awhile, then it breaks again. Look for other solutions.

The slowest app ever. So slow you will never use. It’s faster to get out if your car and open the door.

Not HomeKit compatible. The accessory to make this HomeKit compatible costs way too much and isn’t available in Canada. Apple makes software HomeKit authentication available so there’s no excuse for a separate purchase required. It’s just a money grab from a greedy company. I do not recommend. Also doesn’t have shortcuts capability, or Siri compatibility.

Deleted The App Completely. Chamberlain has decided to without notice shut down access for the home automation community. They ironically are introducing a paywall what a coincidence. Garbage company that has a monopoly on garage door openers. Now everyone in these automation communities is purchasing a device that essentially hacks the door opener.. Also keeps the opener local and off the cloud..

Stopped Working. The unit stop communication all of a sudden and can’t get it back

Works, but hostile to third party integrations. MyQ works ok on its own but using it with HomeAssistant is very frustrating. Stop actively trying to lock your users out of using your own product!

Terrible company. As MyQ has made the decision to block 3rd party integrations I’m no longer using the app or service going forward.

Not logging in. Re installed app still not logging in, was working fine. Now is pos

Wifi doesn’t Work!!!!!. Been trying to get the 3 garage doors to work on wifi for over a year…. No luck yet. When they were first installed they were ok and then my ISP changed their modem and router…they haven’t worked since. Support from MyQ is very difficult to get.

Stopped working. Not sure what happened, but as of the last update of this app, and also iOS 17, it has completely stopped working. I can’t even login just takes me to an error page. I tried deleting and reinstalling, nothing seems to be working.

App easy to use BUT disconnected frm wifi too often. The app is well designed and quite easy to use. However, setting up the app to the Wifi network is a gruesome, often soul destroying, and convoluted effort. Furthermore, if you happen to unplug or disconnect the wifi router for any reason, whilst not changing any of the router settings, the connection to the app is lost and you have to start the entire laborious process once more. The online step by step help guide differs significantly from the help guide in the app resulting in me calling customer support several times. However, the customer support agents are very helpful and patient.

App Needs Improvements. Downloaded the App and immediately it wasn’t exactly simple to connect to my garage doors, especially since I had two doors and how to organize them in the app. Once connected there were errors with door sensor alignment which prevents using the app to close the doors. Strange as the doors work perfectly fine with the wall buttons and the lights are green on them. Tried contacting dealer for help and weeks later still no reply. Tried to find out how to clear the error messages myself and no luck. Needless to say my openers are now old school as I just use the wall and car visor openers.

Company does not care for customers. Since the company has decided to block the home assistant integration that I was using I will no longer use the application and rely on a physical device to control my garage door. I will no longer recommend their products. So long MyQ

Broken system. Limited third party integrations

Doesn’t work. I have tried and tried to connect to my Liftmaster garage door opener but no way. I want to be able to use Siri to open my door but it won’t finish syncing.

Not very good. Not very good. Doesn’t seem to have an API to connect to smart home type software like home assistant.

Junk. Crapy app

Garage Randomly opens. I am not satisfied with this product because my garage door randomly opens. Sometimes I don’t see that it has happened for 30 min or more where the contents of my garage are vulnerable to being stolen.

MyQ porte garage. Souvent problématique, régulièrement incapable de fermer la porte

Super easy install; but monitoring is far too expensive. Very easy install. Intuitive app. Great camera quality. But the subscription service leaves a lot to be desired. Chamberlain / Liftmaster is currently having the same issue Google/Nest had for years with how to reasonably price their subscription service. Currently, it’s $100/year per camera. I guess if you have a one bay garage, that’s fine. But if you’re like me, I have a 6- at garage. So no way of ever pay $600/year for garage monitoring. More like $100/year for unlimited cams. Then I’d sign up. Best had the same issue. They were $50 per camera. And most folks had, say, 8-12 cameras in their home. Their subscription rate was anorexic for years. They finally figured out a reasonable sweet spot, and not they have unlimited cams for $10/month ($120/year)…or $100/year if paid annually. Chamberlain/Liftmaster needs to do the same thing!

Priceless. This has got to be one of my best purchases for the house ever! Sometimes when I’m in the garage doing stuff with the door open, I’ll run in the house for something to drink or whatever and just decide to stay in. I go on my phone app and close it up within seconds. I have a messed up knee and back that periodically like to pain me and by using MyQ there’s no more running up and down the stairs just to close a garage door. The app tells me the current status and the duration: if it’s open or closed and how long, down to the second. Sometimes I would drive off and stress myself out wondering if I forgot to close the garage door or if something fell like a broom or rake and the sensor wouldn’t allow it to close. Now I just go on my phone app and check out the deets. This thing is a total lifesaver, stress reliever making it PRICELESS.

The app works but please bring back one feature!. We bought our garage door open years ago and I started using this app right away. It works, I like it well enough. I can open my garage from anywhere which I use more than I thought I ever would. Here is my major complaint, for some reason in a recent update the user interface to open the garage changed. There used to be an option to have different ways to open your door. One way was to press the picture of a house and your door opens. The second way was to have to press a button, then another picture would come up and you would press that to open your garage door. Kind of a 2 factor request if you will. The one press option is obviously easier but way way more dangerous as it can lead to accidental openings from your phone in your pocket. I understand why that is an option but I always liked having to press twice knowing I wouldn’t accidentally open my door. Well with that second “2 factor” option being gone there is only one way to open the door and it’s pressing it once. In the short time that this has been the case my phone has triggered a closing of the garage twice and both times my 5 year old was in the garage. Yes the garage opener makes a warning sound and the door doesn’t close right away but it’s still unnerving and could be potentially dangerous. Please fix the app and bring back the 2nd way to open the door.

A lot of trial & error to add family members. Just purchased & installed. App software worked great for "owner" then the first family member's invite. However additional other two family members with iPhone 11 phones could not get it to work. Crashes upon acceptance of our invites with "error" then refused to allow us to log back in. Did a delete app then redownload app - still not working for us. Still works fine for owner and first family member's invite (also an iPhone 11 user). Owner took us off of invite list - we were then able to login without error. Waited one hour, sent one invite. That second family member was able to accept with success. Tried the final third family member - error. Deleted app- reinstalled app, waited additional one hour. Final third family member was able to accept with success. A LOT of wasted tedious time to figure out one member with three family invites.

Easy to pair, and a great app.. My professional garage door repairman recently installed a new LifeMaster garage door opener and it came with the MyQ app. I am a senior citizen and found was very easy to download and pair with my new garage door opener. Actually it was so easy I couldn’t believe it so I contacted the myQ customer support. The contact support person was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I did syn it properly and it was as easy a matter as pushing the button on my app screen!I love that I can check the status of my door from anywhere using any of my devices. I love that wherever I am I can see when the door opened and when it closed, for how long it remained open or closed. What great features! That, coupled with the excellent customer support I received, means I will always look for devices that operate with myQ. It’s a great app supporting a great product.

Beware. All in all it works ok. Can be a bit flakey setting up but otherwise ok. HOWEVER in the middle of the night it will start flashing and open by itself. I have been told it it only flashes on a close and have been ignored. I have a camera in my garage and have video of this. Flashing and opening. Security out the door so to speak. Door wide open in the middle of the night. As they have decided to ignore me I have had to create a “Close door” schedule to close the door every 15 minutes throughout the night just in case it randomly decides to open. This has happened 4 times now in the past year. You would have thought Chamberlain would have asked for the video since they said it cant flash on an open and also wont open without a trigger. NOPE, which is why I believe they are aware of this bug. Great idea for an inexpensive monitoring device. I’m not ready to trash yet BUT, This can be a big security issue!

HomeKit and Home Assistant support killed!. Chamberlain has locked many users with home automation out of their API so they can force them to use their own horrible app with constant ad spam. Because some genius at Chamberlain decided that he best time to spam their customers with ads and upsells is when they’re trying to open their garage door. Those of us who bought a myQ device specifically for the home automation functionality got screwed with no warning. I will never buy another Chamberelain product. I have deleted my myQ account and found an open source work-around. If you are in the same predicament take a look at Ratgdo (Rage Against The Garage Door Opener). It’s a $30 device, the software is fully open source and works with espHome and MQTT. Gives you local control of YOUR garage door opener back without cloud accounts or crappy apps that spam you with ads. Works with Chamberlain openers and gives you freedom to automate your home as YOU want. “Backorders” clear in about 3 weeks so don’t let it stop you from getting one.

“Life Saver”. This is a must have for homeowners with a garage door, and WiFi. This will connect to your garage door opener via a WiFi connection. You plug the main unit into 120v outlet on the ceiling in your garage and then place the remote transponder on the garage door. You can literally open your garage door from anywhere at any time. This has saved me from going back home from work. or an evening out with friends. I we have used it on multiple occasions to let our Irrigation contractor in to work on our system. He will text when he is at the house, and I just go to the app on my phone and let them in. It’s that simple to use. If your in the garage when the door is closing, it will sound an alarm to warn those nearby that the door is getting ready to close.

Great app, very convenient. I would say this app works great, gave me peace of mind, solved a problem, and was super easy to install and setup. When I moved I to my house, during the first few days I thought I kept leaving the garage door open. I soon realized that at 630am, noon and 530pm the door would open. I am guessing the builder had put in that schedule to make sure contractors had access. I downloaded the app when I learned I’d be able to get notifications if it opened while I was away and setup a scheduled closing of the door. Setting up the app and putting the opener on my network was effortless, and as a bonus seems to no have cleared or reset the opener, no more opening “on its own”. I get notifications when the door opens and closes. I do not currently have it integrated with any other home automation but I am looking forward to it.

Works better after installing mesh router in garage. I installed the myQ in my detached garage, I also have a wireless camera in my garage. At times I will have trouble connecting to my garage camera, but the myQ was disconnected more than it kept a connection, they are about the same distance from my original router. I bought a mesh network and placed one the the remotes in my garage and now it works well. I’m still a little concerned because if the false readings I got after first using my original router, the door would be open and the myQ app would show the door closed. I have an older dog that stays in the garage in the mornings when I leave for work and I open the door after it warms up. I log onto to my garage camera to see the door open and close, and it’s worked every time after installing the mesh network. The myQ is a good idea, but I think it could use a little better/stronger antenna.

Pretty good app. I’ve used this app for our garage door for a couple of years and been mostly happy with it. If you try to open your door while not on WiFi but your phone service it can be a long wait for it to open. I’m this app sends out all kinds of alerts and you can make your own custom ones. I noticed recently, possibly the last update, that I was no longer getting door opened alerts. I went into the apps notifications section and sure enough there’s no door opened notification anymore. Pretty sure it used to be there. Well since they have custom settings I just created my own but why would you not want to know when your door was opened at any time of day unless you have people working odd hours then maybe not. Just don’t know why it was changed. I had no trouble setting this up or getting it hooked to WiFi.

Installed on four doors, no issues. I installed MyQ on four 3/4 craftsman doors with three orange buttons and one red (vintage mid to late nineties). All installed as they should. I had one opener in the garage where it’s dusty not work right away due to having to press the programming button several times to get the led to start blinking, I assume the contacts after 25 years of service were dusty or corroded. While MyQ works directly with the openers where AladdinConnect works on closing contacts which mimics pressing the local control, I have zero trouble with the MyQs and nothing but trouble out of the Aladdin Connects. The ACs were up and down like a yo-yo, had to be reset on the network often and also had to repair the door modules frequently, not worth the headaches, the MyQs went in effortlessly and work as they should. Time will only tell how reliable they are. Rf-TN

Smart home made stupid.. The app works. But the app is terrible. Why? Because what should be a simple button is in an app plastered with ads for services I don’t want. Meanwhile, after buying a smart garage door opener, I find I’m shut out of almost every external integration because … they want to force me into the app to see the ads. Or purchase an expensive add on subscription to use the device I own, connected through the WiFi and internet I boutght and paid for… They don’t even enable Apple HomeKit or Siri integrations - the later being like one of the things one would want. Want to use CarPlay to open/close the door or check status? Nope, their app doesn’t work there but… you can pay almost $200 for a five year subscription to a hacked-together HondaLink* integration that doesn’t fit well with CarPlay. Stay away from this app and Chamberlin garage door openers at all cost. I wish I’d none this before our old “dumb” opener died and I went with one of theirs as a replacement. *I’m sure they have a pay to play solution for other auto makes as well.

Been using MyQ for years and LOVE it!!!. I have been using the MyQ app for years since buying a Chamberlain opener from Home Depot about 6 years ago to replace an old Craftsman opener that crapped out at my home in NY. The app has been flawless and pleasure to use. About a year ago, we purchased a home in South Carolina. It had a 10 year old Chamberlain opener on each of its two garage doors. Those units were not WiFi capable like the NY opener. I purchased the necessary kits from BestBuy that allowed WiFi capability to the two SC openers and now I have all three openers showing on my Home Screen. I can open any of the three doors with the MyQ app from my home screen. I can’t wait to seek the NY house, but until I do, I can allow workers and caretakers access through the garage from anywhere. I highly recommend the MyQ app and Chamberlain’s openers.

Another great thing ruined by monetization.. I used to recommend MyQ and even installed a few myself for friends and family. Now I regret having done so. I am looking for alternatives. MyQ has decided to push advertising on its app and blocked access to other integrations such as Home Assistant. They claim it’s in the name of security but by strange coincidence the official app is now making you view advertising just to control your door. It’s very obvious that they want eyeballs and additional revenue so they pulled access from platforms that don’t trap you into viewing their ads. Now, if all this is okay with you, then MyQ isn’t terrible. But given how they are changing the platform rapidly towards monetization (of something that we already paid for, mind you), I would be cautious before purchasing anything from them. If the ads don’t make enough to satisfy the bean counters, I would not be surprised if we suddenly find ourselves locked out of our garages unless we pay a subscription fee.

Just let me me stay logged in. This app works… but can be annoying || Positive: you can open and close your door remotely. Works consistently. || Negative: The app logs you out and you have to enter full log in information every time you log in and out. Even when your log in credentials are saved by Apple the log in process is grueling every time. MyQ has an Apple Watch app. I have NEVER gotten it to function. || Do you know what is a useful notification? When the garage door is open for more than 10 minutes. But does the app let you know this? No. Edit: YES! I haven’t tested the feature, but I just figured out how to customize notifications. This is a great feature || Easy fixes: allow a “keep me logged in” function that can be enabled if the iPhone requires a password to log in. Fix the Apple Watch app so it works

My Q App Icons. I actually like the App until this most current update. Two things are disappointing. The bigger icon went away. Looked all over settings to get that icon size back. No such luck. All the My Q App doors to open show up on the same page. I have mines, my Mom, Bro, & Sis now all on the same page. Very easy to get them confused & open the wrong door. Opening the wrong door with all the beeping & everything could scare some. It was better with the big icons & everyone having their own page. I would not be surprised I am not the only one that feels this way. The App was great until now. Is there a way to go back to the old version? App works great for years & you get no review. The app takes a turn for the worse & you hear about it right away. Please fix this icon issue.

Awful Company. I am absolutely furious with LiftMaster's recent decision to remove the public API, effectively blocking homebridge and other 3rd party applications. This is a blatant disregard for their loyal customers who have come to rely on these integrations for smart home functionality. Not only is this move a major inconvenience, but it also highlights the utter lack of consideration for the user community. The fact that LiftMaster's support staff has proven to be unskilled and unhelpful in addressing these issues only adds insult to injury. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that appears to prioritize their own interests over those of their customers. I strongly urge LiftMaster to reconsider their actions and restore the public API for the benefit of their customers. This decision has severely impacted the usability and versatility of their products, and their customer support needs a serious overhaul to better serve the people who keep their business running. This is an absolute disgrace, and I'm deeply disappointed in LiftMaster's actions.

Well thought out app. The app is well thought out and easy to use and best of all they offer a feature where if the garage is open for more than a (user specified period of time) it will send an email and give an app notification. Also when the MyQ hub opens or closes it makes an audible alarm in the garage with a flashing light to notify anyone in or around that the garage door is about be in motion. Con, there were several issues using the app to set up the hub but after being on hold for a little while during the week, a call to tech support quickly got it up and running using a web interface. After the app and hub worked great. Really easy to set up with some phone help. I’ve set up Nest thermostats and other smart devices too. This is a good product and a good app.

No alert for door open too long. We had a functioning garage door, but decided to get this new one for the sole purpose of being alerted if we left our garage door open and didn’t realize it. We learned after install that this feature is no longer available. I talked to their customer support (who was very friendly and sympathetic) and he seemed genuinely surprised that this feature was no longer available. I had read in support feeds that it should be available but is hidden under the ‘remind me’ button but both that and the ‘email me’ button is not clickable on my iPhone 12 Pro. When I downloaded the app, it had a pop up that said some features might not work, so seems like they are aware of the issue so I am hopeful they will fix this feature. I know I can use the app to see if the door is open, but our need is to know when it’s open because we didn’t realize we forgot to close it! Crossing my fingers this will be fixed!

Even more barebones than the Lockitron app. Finally forced to make the switch from the Lockitron app to this in order to keep using my door lock. The app seems nice enough but the feature I used to lock or unlock my door 99% of the time is missing - a widget. Additionally, my wife and I were able to have separate accounts with Lockitron and give her admin rights to have complete control over the lock, including the ability for each of us to issue guest passes. Now, I have to invite her as a guest, and she has no additional control other than being able to lock or unlock the door. And then you’re limited to three guest passes total, one that has to be taken up by wife all the time. Not only am I not too thrilled about this switch, but I’ll start looking for a replacement lock now and I won’t be picking one that require the myQ app to work. Update: it’s even worse than I thought. It doesn’t stay logged in so every time I want to lock or unlock my door I have to hold my phone up for FaceID. If I could give the app zero stars I would. Update 6/14: every time I leave the house or every time I come home and I’m forced to use this application to lock or unlock my door I am filled with the rage of a thousand teenagers playing CoD that just got sniped at their spawn point from across the map. Thankfully, that is not happening too often right now, thanks to COVID-19, but these events are becoming more frequent. If I could give this app negative stars I would. Minus 1 Star!

So far so good, but a suggestion to app dev. So far so good, thank you for the app. I would like the ability to give someone the same rights as myself, it would be nice if my wife could get notifications and basically have the same access I do, but I see on the guest access page she’ll only have access to open or close it. Maybe have guest access and family access separate - kids can have guest or family but leave that up to the owner to decide. My wife is home while I work so would be nice if she could get notifications too if for some reason the garage door opens....although I only have the garage door with this app so I’m not sure if that kind of access would go well with other products, anyhow just a suggestion. - I’ll edit this if things change.

Kinda works...sometimes. Disappointed.. I’m not sure if the problem is an app related issue or if it’s a hardware related issue. BUT, every time the app is updated (which is often) the issue surfaces again immediately (that’s not the only time, but it is guaranteed to happen at that time). The problem is, I have HomeLink in my vehicle. It works (part of the time) until the app is updated then it stops working. I’ll use the app to open or close the door and HomeLink magically starts working again. I HATE this thing. I purchased the lower cost model garage door opener specifically because it didn’t say anything about Wi-Fi connectivity on the box. Was disappointed on install that it was Wi-Fi connected. I’m even more disappointed now. It’s only minimally functional with HomeLink part of the time and I find it very frustrating. *** Update *** I HATE THIS FREAKING APP. It is worthless. Buying a new garage door opener (current one is mechanically fine)just do i do t have to deal with it anymore. Avoid any product that requires this interface!

Works well but has one annoying feature. A pop up “help”at the top of the app shows up a few seconds after opening the app with shortcuts to add a lock, cameras or other things. But if you are in the middle of the double tap required to operate a garage door, the pop up shifts the rest of the screen down and you lose your click status. So you have to always check to make sure the open or close you want actually goes through. Really, I will almost never add a new item vs just using the daily operations in the main app and the (annoying) pop up makes it more difficult to perform the most basic operations. Could you let me disable that or just not place it at the top of the screen where it causes the basic features to jump down after a few seconds? There is already a nice + button at the bottom of the screen that works just fine for the same features in the pop up.

One step forward -two steps back.. I had own chamberlain getaway that controlled another brand of garage door opener for several years. System had separate door sensor and it was bullet-proof. I was so happy with chamberlain that I “upgraded” to their high end lift master opener. System in theory has all bells and whistles but reliability is lacking. Especially this new app. Old system worked ok about 99% of time. New opener with old app about 90% of time. New opener with new app 60-70% max. This is not acceptable, I’m control system engineer and this app seems like was rushed out the door before throughly debugging it. There is one problem that is truly deal-breaking. Sometimes system for some reason decides to error-out. At that point the only option that user has is to operate doors locally to reset the error. What if we are hundreds of miles away! My garage is attached to my house and it is wide open! Amazon-key are you guys nuts? Until chamberlain engineers can fix error bug I can’t risk potential of leaving doors wide open to my house after each package delivery. Suggestion: please let user send multiple close/open commands through your app and server when system error is generated. There is no risk, door opener has all the safety’s built in already. So to summarize-in my opinion bleeding edge, not yet ready for prime time.

Nice but I “think” only a few family members can download. Hello, this may or may not help anyone. And I could totally be missing something so my wife and I currently moved in with my mother-in-law to help take care of her. Her garage door went out on the front of her residence. I called a specialist to install a new garage door motor and he said I would need to download this application because the wrong motor came in. Anyhow I’ve only been able to download it to my phone and my sons I assume cell phone only. If I try to download it to additional family members such as my wife or sister-in-law it doesn’t work. Maybe there are some settings if so I would appreciate any information available. Overall it works excellent and is fast and quiet. Thank you

Unable to share, and removed API access.. One year ago this app and product were great. The app was fine if you put aside the incessant advertising and forgive the inability to have access to video recordings from your garage door opener’s camera. The app has never allowed me to add my wife as a co-owner. When she accepts my invite, she is greeted with a “322” error and is forced to log back out. This was fixed by adding my garage door to Apple’s HomeKit via HOOBS. Since my wife had access to my Home, she could control it along with everything else in the house. Several months ago, the developers broke the API allowing my garage door opener to be added to HomeKit; and still have not fixed the 322 co-owner invite issue. I reached out to support about both the API and the 322 issue but no one was able to help us. If I had known this would happen, I would never have bought a garage door opener from them, and I will definitely never subscribe to their services. I can not recommend this brand or app to friends and family.

Easy and fast set up. Great product, easy set up, took no more than 10-15 min. I read all the reviews after I had purchased and before I installed and started to get worried, but everything went very smoothly. First, there was no subscription fee as some had reported. The garage door opener works just like any other in your home, and as long as you don’t inadvertently hold your set up button too long when your setting up the unit, your other garage door opener’s will work fine. Secondly, this unit does not work on multiple doors. We have a double garage door, garage, so we needed two, BUT, the units work on one app, and that app can be shared and used by all members of the family who have smart phones, so that was great! Are smart home is now complete with these openers!

Better than an old garage door opener and more secure. We originally got this because the old garage door opener in our vehicles were not working any longer. I tried switching out batteries and just could not get them to work. So we went to Menards and I saw this on the shelf. If we had gotten the old garage door opener‘s because we have four people living in the house, it would’ve cost over $100. So this was definitely a smarter way to go. But the biggest feature I love of this is I feel it’s more safe and secure. Before Christmas there were a lot of break-ins in our neighborhood. And I worried about them getting into our cars and opening our garage door with the old garage door opener. Now that we have this I feel a lot more secure and I don’t have to worry about to my breaking into my car and opening the garage door and get into the house

Connection and stalling issue has yet to be fixed. As you’ll read from others, this app has a big issue when switching networks (ie, getting in your car and driving away from your wifi and switching to cellular) — it will spazz and not know what to do. So I have to consistently force quit the app and open it up again. Also, the app itself on the phone will often spazz out and endlessly “load” or spin its status wheel if you switch out of the app and open it back up again later. Those are some inconveniences, but otherwise it’s worked well with the garage and I’ve used it for over a year. Some suggestions: •have option to remain logged in perpetually, without needing to log in every time it’s opened. •improve the main interface and make it more straightforward instead of choosing from multiple views.

Ups and Downs. This used to be a 5-star app until I purchased the new video keypad… the issue is that we have two homes and in one where we want to install the video keypad, the MyQ garage door opener doesn’t show up when I follow instructions to setup the new video keypad. Instead, the MyQ openers at the second home show up. No problem, I’ll just “connect a different opener” and take the long way to set it up. And that’s where it goes bad. It’s a circular loop. I select “connect to different opener” and I’m right back at the beginning of the setup. I went through this circle 20+ times thinking maybe there’s a glitch, but no success. I was excited to finally have a WiFi enabled keypad for the various people coming over (ie dog walkers, cleaners, family in town, etc) but this thing may just have to go back since the app can’t handle the keypad for me for some odd reason.

Was great in the past. I’ve used this app for over a year and have been very happy with its design and reliability. Unfortunately, there are several issues with the recent redesign of the interface. First, the status takes forever to refresh, where it used to be very quick. Second, it takes much more time after a command is issue for it to take place. Lastly, it now takes two clicks to open or close, where it used to take one. So, in the past, I would close the door, come back few minutes later, open the app, and the status would immediately say that it is closed for the last x minutes. I would choose open, and it would open. Now, when I return, it says opening for x minutes. After about 30 seconds, it will refresh to closed for x minutes. Then, after I click twice, it will open about 10 seconds later. Please change it back to the way it has been for the last year!!!

How did I live w/o it!. This garage door opener has made my life 100% better when it comes to garage door opener’s! When my son gets home from school he enters the house through the garage which has a keypad on the outside of the garage door, he called me because the batteries ran out on the keypad so I just pulled up the app and opened it! Before I or his mother would have to take off from work just for him to get in the house! Also when a package comes to the house I open it for the delivery guy so no one will steal it! “ I also have camera’s that I watch in real time so I can close it”. I’ve had this garage door opener about a year now and it hasn’t given me any trouble! I can’t say enough about this garage door opener and app so I recommend it to all my friends and family.. it was worth every penny!!

Removed support for smart home integrations. I’ve never found the MyQ app very useful - it does one and only one thing, so it’s annoying to have to start it up. Instead I’ve got my garage door connected to a smart home system. Suddenly without warning chamberlain group blocked all API access claiming my use of my garage door opener is not authorized use of the thing I own. Looking at the app with the ads added into it the clear answer is it’s actually trying to get me to buy more stuff from them by blocking my own use of my own device. I am deleting the app and removing the control device from my network, and will seek some alternative. If I have to replace the garage door opener in the future I will buy from a brand that lets me use my device the way I use it, rather than trying to claim ownership of the thing I actually own. In the mean time I will simply add a device that controls the garage door opener and is open source. But most people aren’t that sophisticated, and I am sorry for them.

Watch App Needs Work. What I thought would be one of the most handy things about MyQ was the watch app. Just press the watch complication, if you have it activated, and open and close the garage door. It sounds like it should be simple but update after update brings no improvement to it’s functionality. If I am lucky enough to have the complication showing that the garage door is closed, like it should be, it will open the garage door but often stays stuck on “Garage door opening.” This happens even if I have my phone right in my pocket. Bottom line, the watch app, for me, which would be the most useful part of this app often freezes in various stages allowing for only one singular directional use before it becomes unusable and has to reset. I don’t want to have to dig my phone out of my pocket and search for the app there to open the door if I don’t have to. I would rather use the keypad that comes with the garage door if I have too. A fully functional watch app would be way more convenient. Two stars.

Chamberlain refuses Smart Home integration in favor of showing ads inside their app. Chamberlain group that owns a majority of the garage door opener market in the US recently issued a statement saying that smart home control and assistants like HomeKit and Alexa are “unauthorized” and actively make it harder to use the products we buy so they can force a slow app with a singular function to show ads for their five other products that you don’t need. (Unless you’re a Tesla owner that wants to annually subscribe just to be able to open your garage from the screen in your in car car instead of making you pull out your phone and open an app to do the same thing. This is what complacency and lack of competition does to companies that make it less convenient to use their “smart” garage door openers, even when smart home standards have developed to include this exact product category. Simply costing more money for less options 👎.

Great App until you add the cameras/ video. This app worked excellent for two garage doors recording an exact history or opening closing and stopping eg to leave an air gap. For a year until …. I installed two cameras from this company. Now the system can only be accessed for about 70% of the time. Many outages. And the detect ability of the cameras are lame at best. I have the google nest and their cameras which yes cost more but are far superior to these pieces of junk. Even if someone’s walking around in the FOV the recordings generally stop after 10-20 seconds and start again??? Sometimes I get nearly 30-50 seconds while motion is continuous. A complete waste. I’ll pay more for a reliable decent system. But it’s one is terrible. Not recommended. Cameras that is. The darned thing is I need to disconnect the cameras to make the garage doors history etc to work. Oh I get reports of the opening and closing of the doors but cannot open the application because of their server problem. A very dissatisfied customer. Fix your servers knuckle heads.

Home view options. The latest update of this app has unfortunately removed (or hid really well) the option to change the home view, which is a feature that I found really useful. As someone who uses the app to open and close my driveway gate, I appreciate the ability to require a double tap to trigger the gate to move. However, with the new update, this feature has been replaced with a single tap option that has made me nervous to use the app. This is because any accidental tap can now trigger my gate, and once it's moving, I'm unable to stop it using the app. This is especially concerning as I have young children who are often in the driveway. Overall, I feel that this latest update is a downgrade, as it has made the app less user-friendly and potentially unsafe. I hope that the developers will consider restoring the previous version's features or making changes that address these concerns.

Works 50% of the time. When I turn on the app on my iPhone, 50% of the time it says it’s offline, then I wait about 5 to 10 minutes then it’s online again. When it does this, these are the things I know for sure. 1. My wifi is strong 2. I have internet service 3. My router is right next to the MyQ Hub These are the things I have tried. 1. Wifi extender to the garage 2. Move the router next to the MyQ Hub (I would even use an Ethernet cable if they had a port but they don’t) 2. Replace the router. 3. Replace the MyQ Hub (twice) It’s frustrating when I’m leaving my house because I have to back my car out, get out of my car, walk to my garage and close it manually, then run out to my car, jump over the garage infrared eyes so that I don’t trip it to make the garage go back up. And I gotta do this while it’s closing on me. Conclusion: MyQ doesn’t work well. I would not recommend it. By the way, this is the experience that I have with the MyQ app on my iPhone. But I drive a Tesla and it has its own MyQ app that I have the same issues with it. The only difference with that is that they force me to pay a service fee to use the MyQ app that’s built into the car (of which I don’t pay or use any longer). My message to Chamberlain/Liftmaster: We pay so much for your products already, now you want to try to double dip (on something that doesn’t even work well). You’re doing a great job at digging your own grave.

Ads on the controls page not a good idea. CarPlay support needs to be added. Let me open my garage from my cars touch display via your CarPlay enabled MyQ app instead of having me use the phone as its much more cumbersome. Please add CarPlay support to your MyQ app, this is an otherwise solid app. Another suggestion would be move the ads to the bottom of the screen that way the list of devices does not shift causing me to potentially open the wrong door. I already bought your product can you please not serve ads so aggressively? Besides ads being on top of the same page you access to open and close your garage, this app is pretty good. The ads being on top makes the device list shift which is not good. And finally CarPlay needs to be supported, it’s 2022 and MyQ can’t compete with built in homelinks

Works okay. This is an amazing service, but this app has two major drawbacks: 1) It takes 30-60 seconds to log into the server before I can open my garage door, so if I don’t think of it ahead of time it’s often faster to use the keypad (please buy faster servers and fix this!) my phone has a good internet connection from this location and can log into any other website in seconds. 2) We bought this system specifically because the keypad doesn’t work well in the winter (which is several months in Minnesota) even with a fresh battery. But the system has a battery powered sensor on the door which only lasts a couple of months in the bitter cold and the app won’t work without having a fresh battery. (Fix: Please allow me to open the garage door, even when the sensor battery is dead! I’m literally right in front of the door, I know it’s closed and I want it open, so the sensor isn’t doing anything!)

Thanks, I hate it. It works to open and close the garage door. Mostly. Ok, so, story time. Once upon a time when setting up the app, I added a schedule to close the garage door every night. Then, one evening, I opened the door partially and confusing the light button for the garage door button, I pressed the garage door button, leaving it open a crack. I figured, it’s summer, it’ll be fine. I went to bed that night, unaware that the garage door closing schedule triggered the door to close, then the garage door opener triggered some sort of edge case where it opened the garage door all night instead of closing it. My neighbors texted me, but I missed the texts due to do not disturb settings. I awoke in the morning, horrified that my garage had been open all night. Thankfully, nothing had been stolen. Whew. Thanks for the garbage app, Chamberlain. It’s nice to know there are dozens of marketing driven connections and red badges and phones home every second, but it’s lacking basic functionality, like, you know basic door security. Oh, and HomeKit. Pass.

Laggy, unreliable & frustrating.. I continue to use this app only because it’s the only option. If there was an alternative, I’d use it. I regularly swear at this app- nearly every morning as I’m waiting for it to load on my phone or Apple Watch, sitting in my driveway. Yes, I know- i should be grateful that technology exists that allows me to open and monitor my garage door from an app on my phone or watch. If it worked with the simplicity of a garage door opener, I’d agree. When was the last time you waited for your garage door opener to appear and then waited for it to find the door and then waited again for it to do its job? Garage door openers are simple minded creatures and I wish this app was as singular in its approach to the job. It seems to lose track of the goal- to open my door- and gets lost in thought- like a teenager staring at homework while IM’ing friends. Just do your job and I’ll be happy. Maybe you’d even get a passing grade.

Vacation home. I have the myQ hub in my vacation home 90 minutes away, but periodically, the 3 garage doors are unacceptably not connecting and the only way to reset them is to drive out there and push the manual opener button. When it works well, it is great, but these glitches make it frustrating. I wish they would fix it.. I put a smart plug on the hub, but that did nothing. The reason that I have myQ is to monitor my garage when I am away. The other issue is the long press option to open the door. It’s not long enough, maybe a 3 second long press. I accidentally opened my door when I was 1000 miles away on vacation. Please fix! This weekend I reset all three doors because they were “unknown”. I drove 90 minutes each way to reset them. 7 hours later two were unknown again and the 3rd one disappeared! I thought the only way it would disappear is if I deleted it in the app. I didn’t. There should be a software fix so they would reconnect.

Great Option For “Over 60” Moments. How many times have you arrived at your destination only to ponder the question, “did I close the garage door?“ This tool solves that problem! It’s great to be able to confirm the status of your door at any time and close it when needed from wherever you happen to be. Additionally, we live in a country where there’s little crime so closing the garage door in the evening is not always something that is on your mind. This tool solves that problem, too! Set a schedule for your door to close every night at 9 PM and problem solved. Have trusted contractors coming over for a job and need access to your house while you’re at work? Solves that problem as well! The data is always accurate in terms of open or closed and it has yet to fail me. Highly recommended tool!

Stop with the ads!. I’m starting to hate this app. The garage door opener works great, but this strategy of popping up an ad where the open/close button is such that I keep tapping the ad where the button was a second ago is driving me crazy! Now I have to close the browser page I just opened, switch back to the app, and open the door - all while balancing whatever I had in my hands when I wanted to quickly open the garage door. Let me just say that I will never, NEVER, buy another product from your company based on an ad I was tricked into clicking. Also, the watch app is great when it works, but it’s so unreliable that I’ve mostly given up. Usually it just sits there with “Loading devices” and you have to kill the app on your watch, open the app on your phone, then re-start the app on the watch to get it to function. Wow, that’s convenient!

Complete Junk. Setting it up and getting this product installed is simple enough. But getting it to work consistently is impossible. At first, the technical support advice was that a nonexistent LED fixture was interfering with the signals (not true). Then tech-support asserted that the Wi-Fi signal was too weak (not true). Next, they complained that situating the base device within 6 feet of the garage door opener was not supported (even though their documentation states a distance of between 3 and 6 feet is recommended). Next, it was necessary to reset the remote part of this product, attached to the garage door. That permitted this device to work a solid six times in a row before it continued failing in the manner it has consistently failed since it was purchased and installed, 4 months ago. The software does enable you to check whether or not your garage door is closed (if it is reliable), and I suppose that is helpful. But as a remote control device to operate your garage door, MyQ is an abject failure, and the engineering team should be embarrassed at what garbage they have produced.

Very buggy. MyQ works well when it works. My wife and I have lots of trouble with some apparent bugs, greatly cutting my review of the app. The current bug (for her) is that the iPhone app keeps signing her out. It says “can’t connect to server”. Then she has to supply user name and password (again) and it might work, or might just sign out again. After two tries, she comes in the front door instead. For me, I generally get “face not recognized.” I have to be in the shade without a bright sky behind. No problem most of the year, but summer is difficult. The constant upsell ads are very annoying. I’m having enough trouble keeping this working, and then it wants me to authorize in-garage delivery, reminding me many times each week. It does not seem to be able to understand “no.” Outdoor keypads, I suppose for when the app locks up, and in garage cameras, perhaps for when the garage fails to close. Just stop. Not buying more stuff while this doesn’t work consistently.

Horrible app and worst customer service. I’ve had my MyQ hub for almost a year now and it worked…meh most times but I was able to troubleshoot issues easily. Last week It lost connection to my opener so I reconnected it and it worked for a couple of days. Suddenly I not only lost all connection ( hub to network and door opener) but the app won’t work. I tried logging in but got an error. Tried Forgot Password and got an error. Cleared data..same. Finally deleted the app and reinstalled. Nothing. I spent (wasted) two hours on Chat today and was disconnected when I said I wanted to talk to a human. When I finally found the number and called they were closed. The Hub cannot reconnect because of this goofy app. What happened and why is there no customer service? Fyi that this all started when I updated my iPhone to 15.4 but I can’t imagine that is there issue. The app isn’t working on my kids phones either so something is up universality. Alert us when that’s happening! Then we don’t waste our time.
