Gyroscope stopped working. Using iPad 2. Everything worked before. I think last update screwed up orientation. App opens up, I see the sky but nothing moves. It's locked, only can come sly with finger.

Very, very Good. I just downloaded this app yesterday. It tracks much, much faster and more fluidly than the other apps of this type. I also have starwalk, which is good also. I think for information and visuals, starwalk wins. However, for usability and tracking speed, this app takes first place. Plus, being free doesn't hurt either.

Educational. Great in the classroom. My class has to take turns viewing it. But it helps locating and looking up in the sky to what is there. Especially the Lyrid meteors . Allot of wishes from students. Wish we can project this unto the classroom screen! Great app. I and the students love it. Special Ed 4-5 th grade Class Mr. Ken Perez

Positions of Objects Inaccurate.... Last night I realized that the placement of some objects is way off. As an example, M71 is depicted between the feet of Gemini. In reality, M71 is a loose globular cluster in the constellation Sagitta. It’s positioning in this app is nearly 180 degrees off. Gemini is a winter constellation, and Sagitta is a summer constellation close to Cygnus.

Problems on an iPad 2 with iOS 8 with latest version. The compass will not work if you manually set the location when off line. Since I have WiFi only, this is a definite problem.

Would have been 5* if the compass works. I bought this app for my son's moon observation project. But as other reviewers pointed out, the compass does not work, making the whole app useless. It's such a shame, the app looks great and is well designed. If the compass bug is fixed, I will give it a 5 star. Please fix it!

Great App!. This is a wonderful app! Smooth graphics and beautifully designed! But please fix the share buttonerror that causes the app to crash and add an object database.

Excellent App. The app is very fluid. If you get motion sick though use with caution. Otherwise extremely awesome.

Awesome app - and I want an iPad 2 just to run it. I don't have an iPad 2 yet, so I borrowed one to install this app while it's free. When I launched it, I was blown away. It was easy and immediately intuitive to use. More than that, it looks awesome! If I had an iPad 2 and had I seen this app, I would have paid the normal $4 price in a heartbeat. Now I can't wait to get an iPad 2, though I'll probably hold out for the 3. :)

Amazing!. Just went outside to use this with the family. Fantastic!! We had a blast locating all the different planets and constellations! This is the best app ever!

Awesome for me (novice). I don’t do much in terms of astronomy (yet) but would love to learn and will get a telescope when I actually have time. But this app is awesome for helping to visualize the location of various planetary bodies and constellations in the relation to our planet (actually your current location on the planet). Very cool to know where things are and to see what stars your looking at in the night sky if you have very limited knowledge.

Better than most. There are a few apps for identifying stars, deep space objects and planets and this one is as good as any. Graphics are well done.

My kids love this, easy to use. My kids are 6 & 8 years old and just really getting into star gazing and have so much fun with this app. I love the real time point at the sky and rotate to see what you are looking at. Really fun and complete and easy to use.

Pretty but not useful. Congrats. This has to be the prettiest astronomy app I have ever seen but it is not useful. No description of object, distance, location ( ra, dec, alt or azimuth) so I could never use this with my scope like Starwalk or skysafari3. I will keep it because it is so beautifully done. Many more years of happiness to you both and thank you for the app. Ok it will not let me submit.

Love this app (revised). Update: this use to be my fave app .. Now, it's pretty annoying. Much more difficult to navigate. Don't think the compass is in sync. Going to delete & move on! Love this app! The animation is amazing. Easy to use. Great at night, especially on a clear night. It gives you the basic information on what you're looking at. Neat.

Problems with forward. App is pretty good, but when I tried to forward as others, the mail icon is greyed out. I hit cancel then lost a third of the screen and no way to get it back. I deleted it and reloaded it while it was free about five times but no luck. Now I stay away from the forward arrow below the full screen button. I wish there was a fix for this. Any one else. I don't want to experiment deleting and reloading at 3.99 a pop...

Works great, looks great. Had it for iPhone and was always reliable, then I got an iPad and had some trouble with other gazer apps. Tried and true I decided to just buy it, and within 10 seconds it was doing exactly what I wanted to. It looks great too.

Wow smooth and beautiful on ipad3 but....... Please! Add magnitude info. Like when we center on a star or deep space object, please have the centered items info appear in a box on the side? Or over the centered item? This is a great viewing aid, and before pointing my scope it would be nice to see the magnitude of the object to know if it's worth checking out. At least magnitude info! Please! Great app! I also use sky safari 3 plus and distant suns. I have deleted many others, but I am keeping this one! Well done and beautiful! I will make five stars if magnitude info is added.

iPad 12" not working. I had this on my iPad Air and it worked amazingly. But since I move it to iPad Pro 12.9, the screen only shows at the bottom right corner about 1/3 of the screen. Very sad! Can this be fixed, please?

Wow! Fast frame rate!. This app is impressive. There is ZERO lag when using the gyro function. And the ability to turn off the auto-zoom makes this a go-to app for me.

can. On my iPad 2 I get an error msg saying the app can't be installed as it requires a gyroscope. But of course my iPad 2 has a gyroscope so I'm mystified by this problem. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get it to install?

Best graphics, worst functionality. Probably the best graphics I've seen among such apps. Well done. Panning and gyro are fantastic to use, very smooth. User friendly too. Now, function wise is extremely limited. I was expected to tap on any previewed sky object and see the description, but it not there. Id give it 5 if it would be, otherwise app loosing its educative purpose.

Please fix the compass integration. This app used to track what part of the sky the iPad was pointed at, but now it can't figure out the compass direction. Pretty much makes the app worthless. Please fix soon. It was great when it used to work.

Almost surreal. Man, best wishes for you both, happy anniversary. Do you know what would make it a 5-star app? If you could add references to the mapping, so we could get facts and information and still hi-res pics of the stars, constellations and galaxies. The deep space project is a nice touch and would love to get more info about it when I touch it. Get info and reference for it and it will be hard to beat. As, it is, it is very good. But it can be amazing. Surreal feeling of the sky and the glowing stars are just so beautiful. Nice work anyway.

It's amazing!. This app is flawless! It's simple and easy with great features! Great if you are in a science class about astronomy! Also good just for fun!

Pretty good. The controls are confusing. This, like other astronomy apps, try to do way too much for you. As soon as you start up the app, it takes you a ride thru the sky, where a combo of device movement, and finger navigation, leaving you questioning where up and down are at. You never get to go into "let me navigate exactly where I want to go, and let me spin the sky the way I WANT TO". The downside of that is that sometimes the North Star is to the top, bottom, right and left. And you are left guessing what the stars will appear like, when you go outside. I've given up on this app, because when I take it outside, it never lines up, and I am given ZERO control over CORRECTING the star map, to match the actual night sky. I understand the desire to do neet things for users, but when I have a star chart, I can turn it to match what I am looking at, not an option here.

share button crash!!!. The share button crashes on my iPad mini 2 when I tried sharing my location

Great. This application is really helpful in finding stars and other celestial objects. This really helped me with my school's astronomy unit. This is definitely an incredible app!

Locked in one view. Worked as expected until I explored the tools. It is now hung in half-screen and disconnected from the auto-orientation. I can find no way to go back or display any tool icons, help, etc. fortunately I got it from apps for free. Deleting.

Fantastic star gazing app. Thanks for the gyroscope inside iPad 2, the movement is very smooth with fast reaction, and the graphics is stunning beautiful. Moving the iPad, it will automatically zoom out for a larger view of the sky, and zoom in for details when stopping. The tracker function is very helpful, with it I can easily find the Saturn by following the arrow. It's the best star gazing application I've ever seen, very impressive. Recommend to everyone who interested to know what's the name of star or planet in the sky!

Refreshingly Great Astro. App!!. I have the entire top 10 in professional astronomy apps. Simply - This is THE best Intro to Intermediate app now available. Having said that, it has THE best graphics and smooth gps functions of ALL the apps. You heard me. I have the complex apps that will run and even control telescopes, but I often find myself grabbing this one for fast, precise viewings! It you don't have an astronomy app, and looking for one, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET. If you already have 10 or 20, you need to get it anyway for fast viewings or casual night viewing. You'll thank me. I didn't think another app would impress me, but it did.

Amazing!. This is by far one of the best apps that I have on my iPad. I showed it to my brother in law and he went straight to the apple store and bought an iPad. This by the way is a guy who said he hates apple products lol!

Excellent astronomy resource. This has been an awesome app to use to try and find different stars, constellations, and other astronomical features.

A bug in forwarding the image. It's a cool app. However, I lost the menu after I clicked on forward icon followed by pressing the cancel button. I had to kill the app and restart the app again to fix it.

Almost great. I've tried a few astronomy apps and I like this one best EXCEPT for how it zoom in automatically when you stop moving. It always feels like it is zooming in too far. I wish I could control that aspect. Otherwise, very good.

Must have app.. Had this one for about an hour now and I already know its gonna be a favorite for a long time to come, graphically awesome and very very accurate. If you own a telescope this is your must have app for sure. Even if you don't you and your kids will love thisBy the way, I don't work for these guys just giving credit where credits due. 5 awesome stars. Ipad2.

Inaccurate. Shows Sun at the other side of the world when it clearly daytime.

A toy. I bought this app based on the positive reviews, but was disappointed. Lots of eye candy, but little substance for anyone genuinely interested in astronomy. A toy really. I'd give it 3 stars, but since the developer boldly claims this to be 'the best star gazing app on iPad2', I will judge it 2 stars by that standard. There are MUCH better astronomy apps out there: Star Walk, SkySafari 3 and Luminos to mention a few.

Nice try, BUT.... 'Star Walk' is the bench mark for all these types of astrological viewing apps and this one does not come near it in quality and ease of use. If you want say "wow, this is really amazing" then get yourself 'Star Walk'. The only sort of plus I can give this app is that the app size is much smaller than 'Star Walk', but therefore this app needs a constant Wi-Fi or 3G signal to work.

Highly Valuable for Money. StarTracker is a valuable app for money. Although it is not as graphically perfect as Sky Safari series or Sky View series, it is still an excellent choice as it allows one using an iPhone or iPad to see all around them. Just like a Planetarium in your hands.

another one. Meh You've screwed up royally somehow. This is the only app to have: 1. Allowed me to download it twice without letting me know I already installed it (I now have two of the exact same versions on my iPad, listed twice in my installed apps and 2 icons that start separate instances of it at the same time) 2. Crashed my iPad. Genius.

Not iPad 1 compatible. Requires the gyroscope in the iPad 2? Really? There are at least a half dozen other astronomy apps that work just fine for the original iPad. Check out GoSkyWatch Planetarium instead.

Great graphic bur crashes sometimes. Thanks for the great app. Get it while it is free. Would like to see these improvements: 1. show the readings of the grid. The grid has no markings making it almost useless. 2. Prefer to see a line for horizon with the direction such as N, S, SE, etc. identified.

Horrible Useless App. It show the sky and a selection of celestial objects. You cannot pan or zoom out or do anything. It will show you what is there and that's all. No exploration or explanation.

Used to work. I don't know what happened, but this app used to be great. Now it's all discombobulated.
